As a project to learn C++, I decided to create my own bytecode based on Dotnet CIL and Python Bytecode. Everything is going great so far, but I've run into a hiccup during the tokenization stage of parsing my binary bytecode file.
The way I store all of the bytecode instructions in memory is with these structures (and a union inside byte_token, defined in the code block below)
I have a class ByteDecoder that tokenizes everything and places the tokens inside a std::vector&. The issue I'm facing is when trying to make an instance of a byte_token, I get a series of errors saying that the constructor and deconstructor are deleted functions. AI told me that this is because of something happening with the constructor of the members within the union not being initialized. I have no idea what that means though.
My question is, is this the right way I should be storing all of these values? Because every byte_token takes 96 bytes (and used to be 102 bytes before I inlined the union).

When I was 15, I went into a mental institution for trying to end my life. My room was in the juvenile ward, second on the right at the end of the hallway where our rooms were. (I have always had a bad habit of looking down at my feet when I walk.) One night when I was heading to bed (early), I was looking at the floor walking towards the hallway. When I got to the entrance of the hallway, I felt a very cold breeze that made me slow down and look up. At the end of the hallway, I saw clear as day what I can only describe as a black mist of a body silhouette, hanging from the ceiling on the right side at the very corner. I stopped, eyes widened, heart beating out of my chest. I turned my head to look behind me, to see if someone else was around to verify what I was seeing (as I had never experienced anything like this before), no one else was there. I turned my face back to the hallway and the mist was gone. I rationalized it in my head as a reaction to stress, new medication, and having had little sleep. I went to my shared room and kept what I had seen to myself.
The next day, sitting in the day room with other girls, they were talking as we were all coloring. A girl whom I had bonded the most with (she was funny, creative, smart, had cool stories from travel) suddenly said "I've been having a hard time sleeping here. I think this place is haunted. I keep seeing this girl that hung herself swinging in the hallway." I stopped coloring, shocked, instantly feeling chills run down my spine. No one else responded to her, some rolled their eyes as if she was lying. I said "right side, very end corner?" We locked eyes and a look of shocked excitedness came across her face. She said "Yes.. you've seen her too?" Apparently she had seen her multiple times in that same spot. She described to me the same description, same size, same chill in the air as I had seen and felt.
I will never forget this. Thoughts?

Date [standardized Earth time]: September 20, 2137
The second half of the walk back home was peaceful, soaked in the calm atmosphere that our little rest on the beach had evoked. I still have the faint taste of the banana on my tongue, with the yellow fruit easily satiating my appetite while also blessing me with its deliciousness. Honestly, I don’t know how Roesh could only find it ‘meh’. Oh well, more for me then.
By the time we got back home, dawn was truly over and morning had arrived. Roesh unlocked the front door and the two of us headed for the kitchen to put our new fruits and vegetables in the fridge. We still have so many to try, and what we’ve got should last us at least a few days, depending on how filling Earth’s produce tends to be.
Right now, the two of us have flopped down on the couch in the living room, recovering from carrying those heavy bags all the way from the store. Roesh is curled on top of one of the oversized pillows, while I’m splayed out on my back across the couch cushions. I let my eyes wander around the room, falling onto the bare, off-white walls. Everything in this house feels very new, and the scale of things in particular makes it all seem quite alien, but I can tell that in due time it will start feeling more and more home-like.
Eventually, my gaze falls down until it rests on the photos we’ve placed on the small table in front of the couch. My tail gives a small happy sway at the sight of not only our wedding photo, but the photos of our family and friends as well. Hold on a moment… we haven’t called anyone since arriving on Earth, have we? Well, I certainly have to rectify that, don’t I? I roll myself over and slide down onto the floor, walking over to retrieve the holopad. Roesh’s ears perk up at my movement.
“What are you doing?”
“Calling our families. Yours first or mine?”
Roesh groans.
“Let's just do my mother first.”
I navigate to our contacts list and select his mother. The pad rings for barely a few seconds before the call connects and Sinash’s face fills the screen. Just like her son, her fur is a faded shade of blue-grey, with relatively thick, black whiskers, although her ears are a little more rounded than Roesh’s.
“Hilsfeer dear, it’s so good to hear from you!”
“Hello Sinash, how are you?”
“Good good, I’ve just been waiting to see if you two got to Earth alright. Everything did go smoothly, didn’t it? How’s my little Ro-ro doing?”
Roesh’s ears flick in annoyance at the nickname his mother uses, but I catch the humoured twitch that soon follows. I turn the pad to face him, and he sways his tail contently behind him as he speaks up.
“Hi mum, we’re both fine. There wasn’t any difficulties with the trip, so we arrived on Earth safe and sound.”
“Well, that’s good to hear. Is everything going alright? Have you eaten?”
The two of us give an affirmative flick of the tail. I’m the first to speak up.
“Yes Sinash, we have. We’ve already tried out some Earth fruits, and they’re really good!”
Roesh tails bumps against the back of the couch as it wags with joy.
“They actually are quite nice. I had what was called a ‘pear’, which I think you’d enjoy, mum.”
Sinash gives a light chuckle. Although, I can’t help but notice something seemed a little… off about it.
“That’s great to hear… So uh, how is your new house? Is it alright?”
Despite her previously joyful tone, a small hint of nervousness creeps in. I shuffle over on the couch so that both of us can be in view of the camera at the same time.
“Oh it’s massive! Obviously, it was made with Humans in mind after all, but hey, we aren’t complaining, are we Roesh?”
He gives a small laugh as his tail bumps against me.
“Certainly not. The doors are a little annoying since we have to reach up to grab the handles, but the size of the couch, bed and bathtub more than make up for it.”
At the mention of the bathtub, Sinash’s ears perk up.
“Huh, so the Humans do have the concept of hygiene. That’s good to hear, I hope you’ve been making good use of it, Ro-ro.”
Roesh’s ear flicks in annoyance once more. We did use it last night… although the hygiene aspect fell to the wayside in favour of just needing some time to calm down after the day’s events.
“Of course mum, just last night.”
For some reason, Sinash seems to be in disbelief at that.
“Last night… You saying you haven’t had one today?”
“Uh, it’s still the morning mu-“
“No excuse! No pup of mine will neglect his own hygiene. Go on, have one now.”
Roesh and I briefly glance at each other.
“Bath, Roesh. Now.”
Sinash’s stern ‘mum voice’ comes out, and Roesh slides off the couch immediately.
“Alright, alright. Goodness, the tide’s got you in a twist.”
He stalks over to the bathroom, and I’m left watching him leave in confusion. A deep sigh from my holopad draws my attention back to Sinash, whose ears are drooping in worry.
“Sorry for that dear, I just… saw the opportunity. I really need to have a one-on-one with you.”
My confusion is replaced with a small swell of nerves. Sinash’s joyful attitude has faded away.
“Hilsfeer, how is he handling it all? The move, and the… neighbours.”
Oh, of course.
“He’s… making progress. We were both a little anxious, but we’re steadily working on that. Today, Roesh even spoke to a Human. He’ll be fine, trust me.”
She stares at me blankly for a moment, eyes slowly falling out of focus as she seems to sink deep in thought. Soon, she sniffles, her eyes beginning to water.
“I’m sorry, it’s just, I haven’t stopped fretting ever since you two got on that ship. There are so many things that can… for stars’ sake you’re on Earth! You are surrounded by predators. Even if they d-don’t eat sapients… I can’t. I just can’t. What if-?”
“Sinash, look at me.”
She rubs at the tears trailing down her cheeks and looks back up to meet my eyes. I hold her gaze.
“Do you remember when Roesh first introduced me to you?”
“…Of course I do.”
“Do you remember what I promised you?”
She stares blankly at me.
“Hilsfeer…”
“Roesh needed me. I needed him. There was nothing you or his father could’ve said, or did say, that would change that. Nothing has changed since then. There is nothing Earth can do to us."
The silence hangs in the air for a moment.
“…When he first brought you home, I couldn’t believe that he… But, when I saw the way he looked at you….”
She lets out another deep sigh.
“Keep my pup safe, please.”
I make sure my ears stand tall, confident and determined.
“You have my word.”
She takes a little while to calm herself down, wiping away the last of the tears. Eventually, she looks back up to me, her ears no longer drooping so much.
“Thank you, Hilsfeer… I’m sorry for breaking down on you like that. I’ll let you get on with your day before Ro-ro gets out the bath.”
I snicker slightly.
“Knowing Roesh, he’ll probably be in there for the rest of the day.”
She giggles slightly, and I’m glad to see her spirits being raised, even just a little bit.
“You’re not wrong. He’s always loved the water more than anyone else in the family. Either way, have a good day, Hilsfeer.”
“Bye Sinash, talk to you soon. Roesh and I are just a call away… and uh- please say hello to his father for me.”
She pauses briefly at my request, but gives ann affirmative flick of her tail anyway. The call disconnects, and I’m left staring at the blank holopad. I sit there for a moment, and eventually notice that the corners of my own eyes are beginning to water too. I wipe them dry, and turn my attention back to the holopad. I decide to call one of my siblings. I’m sure Riskasa would love to hear all about what Earth is like, after all, he’s been a little more… open to the idea of living among Humans than my parents have.
The holopad rings for a little while, and just as I start to think that Riskasa’s busy or something, the call finally connects. Immediately the noise of a chattering crowd and background music comes out loud and clear, revealing that my brother is at some sort of party or get-together. He seems to in the middle of dashing up a flight of stairs in order to get to a quieter area to take the call, his excitement coming out in his voice.
“Hilsfeer! I was just wondering when I’d get a call. How’s everything? How’s Earth?”
His attitude is a nice change of pace after the last call.
“Hi Riskasa. It’s all going well so far, Roesh and I are settling in easily enough. I see you’re already celebrating not having to see me in person.”
“Ha! Not everything is about you, yah narcissist. It’s Sunchi’s birthday, so a bunch of her friends are over.”
My ears flick in curiosity.
“Whose Sunchi? That name doesn’t sound familiar…”
Riskasa’s ears begin to take on a purple hue as he blushes.
“Oh, she is… uh… Well, after you got married… I figured it was time to step up my game.”
“You’re dating someone?”
His blush deepens, accompanied by a joyful wag of his tail.
“Yeah.”
My tail starts to wag alongside his.
“Congratulations Risk'! For how long?”
My brother’s tail falters.
“I uh… it’s been a while, since before the Federation collapsed. We decided against telling anyone in my family yet since she’s uh… she’s a Zurulian.”
My ears perk up in surprise, before sinking back down in sympathy.
“Yeah, I understand why you don’t want to tell mum or dad.”
He gives a dry chuckle.
“I knew you would. Two sons that won’t give them bio-grandpups. They’d be fuming. Though, they might finally get off my case about letting my little brother get married before me. I’m happy for you Hil’, but by the tides, you couldn’t wait a little?”
We both break out into much lighter laughter after that.
“Hey, not my fault you’ve always been too nervous to shoot your shot.”
“Is that so? I could’ve sworn Roesh once told me that he was the one who asked you out first.”
I guess it’s my turn to blush, though I quickly give a dismissing wave of my paw.
“Who cares about the specifics.”
With an annoyingly triumphant look, he readjusts the holopad in his paws as his ears flick in curiosity and whiskers twitch in excitement.
“Anyway, enough of that stuff. I want to know everything about Earth!”
I give another small chuckle at my brother’s fascination with the planet, yet another thing that our parents don’t seem all too fond of.
“I don’t know if I can tell you everything, but I’ll do my best. What do you want to know?’
“Well, last time we spoke you told me that you’d gotten a place by a beach, right? How’s the alien waters treating you?”
“Ah, we haven’t actually been able to go for a proper swim yet. Been a little tired since the move.”
A little white lie won’t hurt anybody.
“Fair, how about the beach itself then?”
“It’s nice, from what I’ve seen. There’s a big wooden boardwalk running along the sand’s edge actually. Humans set up their stalls down the middle of it during the day, and you should see just how crowded it gets.”
“Sounds awesome. I can’t imagine the sort of freaky things some of those Humans sell.”
“Hey now, I know the idea of them eating meat is a little-”
“Oh no, not meat. I’m talking about the frozen milk and stuff.”
My mind takes a second to process what Riskasa said.
“The what?”
“Yeah, weird right?”
I stare at my brother, stupefied as I try to simply fathom what he’s on about. Suddenly, his ears perk up in realisation.
“Oh, sorry. Should’ve probably mentioned that Sunchi joined the Zurulian-Human exchange program back when that started up. Her partner runs an ‘Ice-creamery’ or whatever, so I’ve had some time to come to terms with the concept.”
I pinch the bridge of my snout and sigh.
“Just when I thought Humans were mostly normal people… Well, thanks for talking, Risk’. I don’t want to keep you from the party much longer, so thanks for talking to me.”
“Thanks for calling, it’s good to see you’re enjoying yourself on Earth so far. Say hello to Roesh for me, alright?”
“I will, and you make sure to wish Sunchi a happy birthday.”
“Of course. Alright, talk to you soon, Hil’!”
When the call disconnects, the sudden silence of the house catches me off guard. I guess the sounds of the party had just become white noise. I put the holopad down on the couch as I slide down onto the ground, before heading over to the bathroom. With a thump of my tail against the door to let Roesh know I’m coming in, I open the door and peer inside. My husband’s face peeks up over the rim of the bathtub, looking more relaxed than I’ve seen him in a long time. Sinash and I were right, he really does love water.
“How long have I been in here?”
“Eh, not too long. I called Riskasa, and he says hello. Do you want anything while you’re in the bath?”
Roesh seems to think for a moment, eyes still locked onto me. Eventually, I can see a slight blush forming.
“…You?”
I let out a surprised huff.
“Someone’s in a flirty mood.”
Roesh ducks his head back down below the edge of the bathtub, calling out to me as he does so.
“So, are you going to join me or not?”
“Hmmm… sure. I might as well.”
Just as I take a few steps into the bathroom though, I hear something coming from the hallway. A strange ringing sound, reverberating throughout the house. Roesh swiftly pokes his head above the bathtub again, looking confused.
“The doorbell?”
Doorbell. Right, that’s what it was. That means someone is at our door. I send a questioning look towards Roesh, who meets my gaze. He sinks slightly back down again, looking nervous, but that quickly gives way to a determined gaze once more.
“Can you get that?”
I give him a happy, affirmative flick, and head back out of the bathroom. I close the door behind me, and walk over to the front door.

The IPO Buzz: The word on the Street is that Ibotta (IBTA Proposed) is mega-multiple times oversubscribed – at crazy levels, some say – and the red-hot IPO is expected to be priced above its lofty $76-to-$84 price range on just 6.56 million shares. The IPO’s size was increased yesterday (Tuesday, April 16) to 6.56 million shares – up from 5.63 million shares. This is a New York Stock Exchange listing.

“If you’re not one of the top 10 accounts at Goldman, you’re probably not going to get much stock,” a veteran IPO pro says. “Everybody else will get maybe 100 to 125 shares.”

Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, BofA Securities, Evercore ISI, UBS Investment Bank and Wells Fargo Securities are the joint book-runners.

Selling stockholders bumped up their portion of the deal to 4.06 million shares – up from 3.125 million shares previously – while the company’s portion stayed at 2.5 million shares, according to an S-1/A filing early Tuesday (April 16, 2024).

Under the new terms, the IPO is expected to raise $524.8 million – based on pricing at the $80.00 mid-point.

The SCOOP Rating on Ibotta (IBTA Proposed) was raised to a 3-Star SCOOP Rating on Monday afternoon (April 15, 2024) after the Street heard that the IPO was more than 10 times oversubscribed – and the day before the IPO was upsized.

“This is a sliver deal. They could price it at $85 – and it could go up $15 or so,” the veteran IPO pro says.

Ibotta is a Denver-based digital ad platform company that says it makes money only when a customer’s product promotion results in a sale.

Walmart, Family Dollar (a Dollar Tree subsidiary), Kroger and Shell are among Ibotta’s clients, the prospectus says.

“We work directly with over 850 different clients, representing over 2,400 different CPG brands to source exclusive offers as of Dec. 31, 2023,” Ibotta says in the prospectus. “Most of our offers cover products in non-discretionary categories, such as grocery, but we also work with general merchandise manufacturers in categories such as toys, clothing, beauty, electronics, pet, home goods, and sporting goods. Over time, our clients have generally ramped up their spend with us, and they rarely drop off our network. In fact, of our top 100 clients, 96% were retained from 2022 to 2023.”

Ibotta says that its technology platform “uses an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled offer engine that is designed to match and distribute the right offer to the right consumer at the right time.”

For the year ended Dec. 31, 2023, Ibotta swung to a profit from a year-earlier loss, according to the prospectus.

Ibotta earned net income of $38.1 million on revenue of $320.0 million for 2023, the prospectus shows.

Southwest Gas Holdings Inc. (SWX), the parent of Centuri Holdings, is offering the stock in the IPO. After the IPO and the concurrent private placement, Southwest Gas Holdings will still own about 82.7 percent of Centuri’s outstanding stock.

“It’s right sector, right time,” a seasoned IPO pro says. “It’s (natural) gas. Look at oil right now, setting new highs."

The private placement for Icahn is also a plus factor, he said.

Note: Icahn Partners LP and Icahn Partners Master Fund LP, investment entities affiliated with Carl C. Icahn, have agreed to buy in a concurrent private placement 2.59 million shares (2,591,929 shares) at a price equal to the IPO price, the prospectus says. If these private placement shares are priced at the $19.50 mid-point of the IPO’s price range, the private placement would raise $50.51 million.

Centuri Holdings, based in Phoenix, is a leading pure-play North American utility infrastructure services company with over 110 years of operating history that partners with regulated utilities to maintain, upgrade and expand the energy network that powers millions of homes and businesses, the prospectus says.

“We are a leader in utility infrastructure services,” Centuri says in the prospectus.

“Our customers are leading electric, gas and combination utility companies across North America, including American Electric Power, Enbridge, Entergy, Exelon, NiSource, National Grid, Sempra Energy and Southern Company, among others,” the prospectus says.

“We also contract with certain large-scale 5G datacom providers to support increased utilization of 5G and network expansion with the addition of C-band and small cells.”

Centuri says that its top 10 and top 20 customers are almost exclusively investment-grade utilities. The top 10 customers represented 49 percent of its revenues during fiscal 2023, while the top 20 customers represented 71 percent of its revenues during fiscal 2023.

Hi everyone, I got accepted into both the University of Southern California (marshall) and UNC-Chapel Hil (oos) l and am having a hard time choosing. Financially, I am not sure how much USC would cost because I havent seen their package but if the online calculator is correct it could possibly cost the same or like 10k more than unc.
I am planning to study business but also would love to explore a minor in something stem related. If anyone has any insight about the pros and cons of each school that they could share I would really appreciate it. Since both schools have good weathesize, I am mostly curious about the student culture and the difference in opportunities I will have at the school/after graduating. Thanks!

The Durham Public Schools Board of Education met Thursday evening for its regularly scheduled monthly meeting, during which board members approved 11% raises for employees as an interim strategy to address the ongoing salary dispute.
The board then heard from Kerry Crutchfield, the independent comptroller tasked three weeks ago with investigating the miscommunication surrounding implementation of the HIL salary study.

He noted that while the study was a necessary undertaking that provided “excellent data” on market-based pay in Durham and translated that data into appropriate pay step classifications, it failed to include an implementation plan and an estimated cost of implementation.

One important takeaway Crutchfield presented was that the previous schedules used by DPS had step increments averaging 0.85%, while the new schedules had increments of 1.5%.

“That difference compounded over 30+ step schedules creates pay ranges approximately double the size of the previous pay ranges,” Crutchfield said. “It’s like trying to force a square peg into a round hole.”
Crutchfield explained that these large increases led to many employees being paid far above market rate, which was “not sustainable within the current DPS budget.”
He recommended that the board produce a new market-based implementation plan where employee pay increases are calculated by adding the legislated four percent increase to the new schedule’s pay grade minimums. Crutchfield expressed that the salary grades presented by the original HIL study were largely appropriate and could be implemented, but that there were a few “that expanded so much that they would exceed the state maximum pay,” and would have to be corrected.
Crutchfield also noted that this plan should be prospective as opposed to retrospective, should not require repayments and should be implemented at a date far enough out that employees can be notified of new pay amounts at least a month in advance.
The presentation moved on to interim-cost savings, and Crutchfield recommended that the board implement the 11% plan because its total implementation cost would be closer to the amount originally budgeted for. He also cautioned the board that pursuing a 15% increase might result in “significant pay decreases when a permanent plan is implemented.”
Crutchfield offered his services to the board for the design of a permanent implementation plan following these recommendations, which he estimated could be completed sometime in early March.

Okay I know this sounds like a shit post but I'm dead serious I do wonder. Like I say the mountains the way they were did not collapse because of magic and the world terrain was so bizarre. Line Widths and Writing Samples: To provide buyers with as much information as possible, I have started to adopt the following line width standards: XXF (.1-.2mm); XF (approx .3mm); F (approx .4mm); M (approx .6mm); B (approx .8mm). Nib flexibility is determined by variation (max line width under pressure) and softness (amount of pressure). Flexibility designations based on variation generally run as follows for an XF/F nib: Semi-Flex (approx. 1mm); Flex (1.2-1.9mm); Superflex (>2mm). All line width measurements are taken with a digital caliper but should be considered approximations providing a general guide. Width may vary slightly depending on type of ink and paper used as well as amount of pressure applied. All writing samples are on Rhodia dot paper using Waterman Serenity Blue.
 
 
1. 1940s Waterman Taperite Citation (burgundy with transparent red barrel-end, celluloid, GPT, lever filler, 14k Stubby Semi-Flex F nib). This full-sized model is a long pen, measuring 5 1/2” capped. When Parker’s 51 was introduced in 1941 and became an instant bestseller, the other Big Four makers scrambled to develop designs that would compete with the world’s most desirable pen. Waterman’s Taperite Citation was arguably the most successful. Like the 51, it features a clutch-activated cap for convenient (un)capping and a hooded nib that prevents the nib from drying out when the pen is left uncapped. Unlike the 51, these nibs were softer and more expressive – so you get the best of both worlds. In addition, the Taperite was made of celluloid. And some less common variants, like this one, featured a design feature carried over from the Hundred Year Pen: a fetching, transparent barrel-end matched to the color of the pen (DETAIL PHOTO). But it wasn’t only Parker from whom Waterman drew their inspiration. When the Taperite made its debut in 1945, two different models were available. The Stateleigh came with an all-metal gold-filled cap. Meanwhile, the Citation came with a celluloid cap having a wide, gold-plated cap band that bears a striking resemblance to the cap of Sheaffer’s Triumph. A smart combination of the most innovative designs of the decade together with Waterman’s signature aesthetic and workmanship, the Taperite Citation is in many ways the quintessential pen of the 1940s. This example in burgundy is equipped with a 14k Semi-Flexible Waterman nib that lays down a smooth, consistent, and somewhat stubby F line (see WRITING SAMPLE). Not a full-fledged Stub, mind you – just enough to keep your letterforms neat and straight. Under moderate pressure the line widens to a 2B or so (approx 1.0mm). A great nib for this pen, being perfect for quick note-taking yet more expressive than a 51 nib when you’d like to add some subtle shading. Condition: near mint [B+]. This pen is exceptionally well-preserved - like something plucked from a time-capsule. Like celluloid Hundred Year Pens, the vast majority of these crop up with crystallized barrel-ends. Odds of an intact end are about 1/50 in my experience. But the clear, red end of this pen is immaculate with no such flaws. Gold-plated trim is pristine with no brassing or other notable. Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes – scarcely even any microscratches. Manufacturer imprint is factory deep and fully legible. One would be hard pressed to find a nicer example. Price: $260 $230
 
2. 1940 Parker Vacumatic Senior Maxima (Golden Pearl, celluloid, GPT, Vacumatic Speedline filler, 14k M Superflex Stub nib + spare 14k Two-Tone XF nib). This 2nd-generation oversized Vac has a thick girth and measures 5 1/4” capped. It’s made of Golden Pearl celluloid complemented by gold-plated trim including wide chevron cap band, tassies for its double black jewels, and blue diamond clip signifying Parker’s lifetime guarantee – all features one would expect to find on a 2nd-gen Vac. Also unique to 2nd-gen models is the longer bind cap with aluminum Speedline filler, an innovation over the lockdown fillers of the 1st generation. But what truly sets this pen apart is its 14k OS Vac Arrow nib, which is truly a monster! The overwhelming majority of Vacs came equipped with nibs that are impeccable writers yet decidedly firm. Not only is the nib in this pen Super-Flexible, but it also happens to be a Stub with a big glob of tipping. Under normal pressure it lays down a smooth and consistent M line on the down-strokes and XF line on the cross-strokes. Under light pressure the line widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.4mm) (see WRITING SAMPLE). Versatile variation, responsive snap-back, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it a great choice for a range of calligraphic writing styles including Copperplate and Spencerian. Condition: excellent- [B-]. The nib in this pen has a 3mm hairline extending from the back of the breather hole running parallel to the slit (see nibs photo). This currently has no adverse effect on the performance of the nib, which snaps back tight under full flex. Normally, I would downgrade my condition rating accordingly. But I’m including a spare two-tone XF Vac Maxima nib with a matching 1940 date code for the listed price. Gold-plated trim shows high point brassing on the clip arrow, some horizontal scratches on the cap band that don’t penetrate the plating, a couple pin-sized dings on the cap band indicia (see timestamp photo), and a close grouping of the same on one side of the blind cap tassie (DETAIL PHOTO). Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes – scarcely even any microscratches. Barrel has excellent transparency with ink level visible when held to light DETAIL PHOTO). Manufacturer imprint and date code on barrel are deep and fully legible. 3. 1920s Conklin Endura Senior (Sapphire Blue, celluloid, GPT, lever filler, 14k F nib). This oversized model has a thick girth and measures 5 1/4" capped. The Endura was Conklin's first earnest foray into colorful celluloid pens. These flat top models were offered in an array of color patterns, including the desirable Sapphire Blue, which bears some resemblance to the Lapis/Lazulitic Blues of Parkers and Wahls. The Endura Senior was the flagship, vying with the Parker Duofold's share of the market. Made of thick, robust materials, it has a substantial heft in the hand. This one features a wide cap band, patented rocker clip, and red annular rings on the cap and barrel. Crescent motif on the lever and nib hearken back to the Conklin Crescent-Filler: the pen that first put the company on the map. Commensurably oversized 14k Conklin Endura nib lays down a smooth and consistent F line (see WRITING SAMPLE). Condition: excellent- [B-]. Color is simply superb with none of the darkening commonly found on Sapphire Blue. Gold plated trim is clean aside from some wear to the top and bottom edges of the clip and brassing around 2/3 of the cap band along the bottom edge (see timestamp photo and DETAIL PHOTO). Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes – scarcely even any microscratches. Manufacturer imprint on barrel is deep and fully legible. 4. c.1929 Schnell’s Penselpen (Black & Bronze, celluloid, GPT, shift (slide) filler), 14k XF Semi-Flex nib). This full-sized combination MP + FP measures a lengthy 5 13/16” capped. It doesn’t even fit into the tray, so I shot it with the pencil separated from the pen. Here’s what it looks like when everything is screwed together: DETAIL PHOTO1 DETAIL PHOTO2. Trained machinist, tool maker, and inventor Julius Schnell laid claim to having invented the fountain pen/mechanical pencil combo in 1890. Schnell worked for other companies including Weidlich, John Holland, and Edward Todd before founding his own operation c.1915 and manufacturing the first Schnell pen. It wasn’t until 1929 that Schnell introduced this combo, which he dubbed the Penselpen. Its rarity as well as its exceptionally high quality, innovative filling system and wildly unique clip design has earned the Penselpen a place in the pantheon of vintage icons highly sought after by collectors since the 1980s. The Penselpen is equipped with Schnell’s ingenious “shift” filler, which operates on the same principle as a lever filler. But instead of lifting the lever, one slides it forward once (parallel to the barrel) to fill the sac inside. But what makes the Penselpen most iconic is its famous “Airplane” clip, designed to commemorate Lindbergh’s 1927 transatlantic flight. To my knowledge, no other maker had the dashfire to fashion a clip this bold – only the sword clip of Parker’s Royal Challenger comes anywhere close. This example is made of a Black and pearlescent Bronze celluloid identical to that which Conklin used for the Endura. Semi-Flexible 14k Schnell’s Penselpen nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a 2B or so (approx 1.0mm) under moderate pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). Condition: excellent [B]. This one comes from my personal collection. The term ‘rare’ is overused and abused for vintage pens. But I’d apply it to the Penselpen without hesitation. You could browse eBay and merchant websites for years without seeing another. And when they do crop up, once in a blue moon, they frequently exhibit replacement nibs and mangled clips (the wings and propellor were particularly susceptible to damage). The clip on this pen is pristine, showing no brassing or other notable blemishes. Ditto the lever. But there is a fine sliver of brassing around 1/3 of the cap band along the bottom edge (the 1st photo shows its vertical width). The only other noteworthy flaw to this combo is that the MP appears to be jammed; it no longer functions. The standard operating procedure here is to use a fine drill bit to remove the jammed lead, but I don’t have a bit small enough. All the same, considering its rarity, one would be hard pressed to find a nicer example. The state of the eraser shows how little use this pen saw. Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes – scarcely even any microscratches. Manufacturer imprint on barrel is deep and fully legible. 5. 1930s Oversized Aurora/Conway Stewart Clone (grey pearl w/ red ribbons, celluloid, NPT, button filler, 14k M Superflex Stub nib). This oversized model has a thick girth and measures 5 5/16” capped. This high-quality, oversized pen exhibits no maker’s marks. But the same unusual and unusually eye-catching celluloid, consisting of grey pearl marble with pearlescent red ribbons throughout, was used by Conway Stewart on a couple of flagship models and by Aurora for their Selene (DETAIL PHOTO). In view of this pen’s design affinities with the Aurora, I suspect it’s of Italian origin – possibly even an Aurora sub-brand. The profile of the nickel-plated clip is particularly suggestive here. This pen is a button filler (see fillers photo). To fill, simply unscrew the blind cap, submerse the nib, and depress the brass button once. This pen came to me nibless, so I’ve outfitted it with a replacement nib befitting its fine quality and size: a 14k Waterman’s Ideal #4 Keyhold nib from England. That nib is a Stub with Super-Flexible softness and variation. Under normal pressure it lays down a smooth and consistent M line on the down-strokes and XF/F line on the cross-strokes. Under light pressure the line widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.4mm) (see WRITING SAMPLE). Versatile variation, responsive snap-back, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it a great choice for a range of calligraphic writing styles while the Stub grind keeps ones letterforms clean and straight. Condition: excellent [B]. Another pen from my personal collection. Nickel-plated trim shows specks of wear here and there but is generally clean and altogether free of brassing. The only notable flaw to this pen is some slight waviness to the cap bands on the right side of the cap (timestamp photo shows the worst of it). Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes – scarcely even any microscratches. A fetching pen and a lovely writer. Price: $330 SOLD
 
6. 1930s Imperiale “Doric” (grey and black marble, NPT, lever filler, 14k XF Superflex nib). This oversized model has a thick girth and measures 5 1/2” capped. This Italian pen comes from my 20 yr-old personal collection and I’ve never seen anything else like it. It’s a bit of an enigma, the only marking being “Imperiale” (the Italian word for imperial) stamped on the barrel. In many ways, it resembles a Wahl-Eversharp, having the same proportions and being faceted like a 1st-gen oversized Doric with the generous trim configuration including slender bands on the ends like a Deco Band. But facets of this pen are truly unique. Instead of running parallel to the body of the pen, they zig-zag, creating an effect that resembled roughly hewn marble from a quarry. The pen reflects light in so many directions, the effect is hard to capture on camera. But here’s a photo that exposes the shape of a single facet (DETAIL PHOTO). It must’ve required an astounding measure of time and effort to ensure that all the trim rings conformed to the facets. That trim is nickel-plated, a perfect complement to the black and shaggy grey pearl celluloid color pattern. This one came to me with a damaged Warranted Italian nib, which I’ve replaced with a 14k nib befitting this pen’s size and propinquity to the Doric. That nib is a Super-Flexible Wahl-Eversharp Gold Seal stamped ‘Flexible’ – the same one might find on a 1st-gen Doric. It lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a 4B+ (approx 2.3mm) under light pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE. Thin hairlines, strong snap-back, and reliable flow over its full range of flex make it a great choice for calligraphic writing styles. Condition: Nickel-plated trim has specks of wear, most of which are confined to the clip. But it’s generally clean. Celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes. Manufacturer imprint on barrel is deep and fully legible. Price: $350 SOLD [on special request]
 
7. 1930s Eversharp Stenograph (Burma, celluloid, NPT, button filler, 14k XXF/XF nib). This model is unusually long and slender, measuring 5 1/2” capped. This uncommon pen was made specially for stenographers, who wrote quickly in shorthand. In many ways it resembles a Doric. It has a faceted cap and barrel, a faceted clip like the 2nd-gen Doric’s, and it’s made of the same black and pearl celluloid one finds listed as “Burma” in Eversharp adverts for the 1st-gen Doric. Unlike the Doric, however, this pen is a bulb-filler, a filling system uniquely suited to accommodating its slender size (see fillers photo). It stores ink directly in the barrel, thereby boasting greater ink capacity than a lever filler of the same size. It’s filled by unscrewing the bind cap, submersing the bib, and depressing the bulb until the barrel is full. In view of their specialized purpose, Stenograph nibs are universally firm but capable writers. The long, narrow 14k Eversharp nib in this pen is no exception. But it is somewhat unusual in having an upturned “Waverly-style” point to enhance smoothness (DETAIL PHOTO). That nib lays down a smooth and consistent XXF/XF line (see WRITING SAMPLE). Ideal for quickly jotting down notes or shorthand (does anyone still write in shorthand?). Condition: fine/fair [C/D]. This pen came to me with 3 tight hairline cracks in the cap lip extending from the opening to the cap bands. Using MEK and celluloid paste, I’ve solvent welded these cracks to restore much of the factory strength and durability of the cap – a method recommended by the top pen mechanics. The cracks are now all but invisible to the naked eye but can be made out under a loupe or in direct sunlight at very close proximity CLOSE-UP1 CLOSE-UP2 CLOSE-UP3. The surface has been finished to be smooth with no irregularities. And I’ll guarantee the repair for a year after the pen is purchased as long as the buyer promises not to jam the cap on the end of the barrel (posting with care is fine). Aside from that, this pen is quite well preserved. Nickel-plated trim is clean aside from spots of high point wear to the corners of the cap bands and brassing to the trim ring between the barrel and blind cap (assuming this ring was originally nickel-plated). Facets are sharp and celluloid has a smooth, lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes. Hey all,
I have a very long play through that I don't want to restart back at my save just before "chippin in" I have been through almost all the content at about 85 hours. I was wondering if I could change something in my save file to "reset" "chippin in" so that I can give the suicide hidden ending a try on this play through. Apparently you have to use the right responses to get it and I obviously didn't choose wisely lol. Below is my save file json. Do any of you know what quest is "chippin in" so that I might be able to delete it from "finishedQuests" variable? Thanks!

The number of all possible armies in COC by u/Datario in ClashOfClans

Ignoring Super Troops it's just the coin change problem with an extra twist*.
As of now the housing space for troops is 320 and [1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 14, 15, 18, 20, 25, 30, 32] are their possible sizes. So first we list all troops combinations of said sizes such that their housing space adds up to 320. These are just a handful of the partitions of 320 since integers can only be picked from that list. At this moment barbarians, archers and goblins are viewed as the same kind of troop (occupying 1), just like miners bowlers and headhunters (occupying 6) and so on...
The number of "housing space combinations", where troops of same size are indistinguishable is 42908202119
Now for each one of these, one can be [0, 1, 0, 0, 5, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 9] indeed 1*2 + 5*6 + 9*32 = 320, we have to count in how many ways we can actually choose specific troops depending on how many troops share the same size, in this example one of size 2, 5 of size 6 and 9 of size 32. This is can be done directly with some quick multiplications (stars and bars))*.
We get the number of all possible troops combinations 670327336224046279
The same computation is done with

• 50 instead of 320 for clan castle troops, they're "just" 24692822 (13521 space combinations)
• and with 11 and [1,2,3] sizes for spells 119314 (16 space combinations)
• 3 and [1,2,3] for clan castle spells 33 (3 space combinations)

Then we can assign 8 pets to the 4 heroes, so 8 * 7 * 6 * 5 choices and there are 7 siege machines so an additional factor of 7

This is the code I've used with my average laptop it takes less than 10 minutes (for CAMP 320).
Including Super Troops would require too much substantially more time, Super Troops ONLY would actually take less, since troops are bigger and there would be less space combinations, but counting all the middle cases is a gargantuan feat... There are 16 super troops, each one can be on or off so there would be 2^16 of such computation😳, and up to 2 can be active at any given time, so there would be 136 of such computation.

CORRECTION UPDATE

There are a couple of blunders in the code: one final addition missing, Witches left out but most importantly a bug in the way I made my counter work in C in base 2^32 that I still can't point out. Thanks to u/RegisterFantastic661 for providing the proper way of doing this with dynamic programming🙏 now I've included Super Troops and also counted every possible army of any size: new code.
The final number is 599159599385587419696210894840482856893958143 every army you've ever use is here.

I was editing RAW photos and batch-applied the auto-settings for a bunch of photos that I did not want to manually edit. From there, I exported all as JPG, Full Size, 100% Quality, Matte Paper output sharpening, and sRGB Color Space. The images have now become grainy, and my idiot self deleted the originals before checking how the exported photos turned out outside of Lightroom. I am on the most recent version of Lightroom (I am not on Lightroom CC, just regular Lightroom). Can anyone help? I have been unable to recover the deleted original files from my external hard drive. I was at the game the other night, and I said to my buddy that it would be hil-arious if the ol' Beejmeister (we call him that now) got offered a full time job in the next few days and then Jason Kreis backed himself into being the USMNT head coach for the rest of the Gold Cup. That reminded me that Jason Kreis was the last guy to try to get us to the Olympics, but that we are in fact sending a MNT to the Olympics next year! My friend pointed out that due to his success - albeit very short term success - that BJ could be a good fit to coach the Olympic team next year if Gregg doesn't coach them (will probably be busy with the Copa America and not focused on that). I know there is speculation that BJ could be offered a full time job elsewhere, but I think there will be some hesitation since it's such a very small sample size. I could see him remaining on Gregg's staff for the time being, having a bigger role within the staff (since Hudson is gone) and then being tapped to coach the U-23 team next Summer.

They are in the starlane, a pathway of least resistance connecting two stars. A gravity well of this magnitude would have disrupted the fleet's FTL capabilities months ago. Did it simply appear out of thin air?
Novas had a foreboding feeling, a gut instinct that had consistently saved the fleet. However, this time, his intuition is conveying a single message.

Some things I haven't seen discussed much, surprisingly. Anna's birthday - During the strange situation, the signs posted out front of the house with cares photographs and birthday cake on them are actually fliers pasted on top of pre existing signs that were designed with something else in mind, as if it was an afterthought or her return was unexpected. After entering the house, a blue balloon can be found next to the yellow one, with both hovering near the slice of cake and blue tool drawings underneath. Just like the signs outside, something has been replaced with the imagery of a birthday theme for care. Anna herself tells care to disregard the drawings. Clearly Anna was having some sort of celebration for herself and I'm going to theorize it was the creation of the blue tool, or cares death/dissapearance. Interestingly though the image of a cake on the sign is also pasted on, so it seems like the birthday theme has been entirely fabricated for this strange situation in which they assumed care was "gone", except she returned from wandering the new maker plane.
Family,2,3- The soundtrack ending with Paul and Belle accepting eachother as family is often regarded as a happy ending. Has anyone else felt that in "closing the loop " Paul has simply ensured the cycle has persisted and has reached the same endpoint (the family save file) as the two petscop generation climbs before his? We see the generations go from 1-15, end on family, and LOOP. Isnt that exactly what we see happen to Paul? If not, what do you all theorize happened in the other two family saves? Also belle quoting Paul's "we can investigate this together" could easily be seen as a cute callback, showing belle CAREd about Paul by paying attention. Or the game is smugly throwing his words back in his face after his fate has been sealed for digging too deep... Would love to hear anyone else's thoughts about the family saves in particular, and the ending
The multiple door (level2) loading screen doesn't just show two silhouettes on either side of the door. It actually shows 4. Whether they are meant to be part of a ring that goes all the way around the room to infer viewing the door from multiple rotating perspectives or simply the 4 total, it's a detail I haven't seen really touched on. It ties into the rotational themes even further.
And lastly a curve ball just for a laugh - Rainer is Marvin. And Paul (maybe...) How does Rainer know what Marvin was thinking in the bathtub? Or how he knows what he said in conversation with his wife about care, and being secretly excited? Maybe he told him these things. Or he thought them himself. Why does Rainer stay in contact with Marvin while care is missing even though he clearly has something to do with it and tries to use a videogame to do something about it instead of tell anyone to look at the school where Marvin is. If he doesn't know where the school is how does he even know about it in the first place? Why would Marvin ever agree to play petscop in any way shape or form? The only reason he would have is if the game petscop is integral to the rebirthing process and the machine in the school basement is confined within the game and doesn't exist literally. Or somehow petscop is a medium which acts as a communication point for various "rotations" or altered states of reality. These are highly possible reasons, and I'm simply having a bit of fun. (Tapers spoilers ahead.....) The reason this sticks out to me so much is because in the story tapers, the sort-of twist is that Marvin and taperman are the same character. I know tapers and petscop are two different stories, but there are a lot of interesting thematic similarities outside of literal story beats that I think can help us get a bigger picture on petscop if we apply a similar model of thinking. In tapers, Marvin is building a sadness machine in the school basement. He uses a white circular PIECE (much like the one pen is protecting, which Marvin never gets a chance to interact with btw) to assist in building his sadness machine, the same piece care needed to complete her happiness machine. She tries to get it from him but destroys his machine and scatters hundreds of pieces all over, causing him to have to rebuild it. Taperman, a lunatic who has been going to a camera store and following care around and taping her, comes to Cares rescue and thwarts Marvin while he is rebuilding the machine, allowing her to escape the school Marvin has been keeping her in. Later on in the story, Marvin returns to cares home a second time, except now he just wants to murder her outright for ruining everything and escaping. Beforehand, he and taperman strike a deal to work together, so they both can get what they want(Taperman REALLY wants an interesting RECORDING. He is obsessed with capturing something captivating but real and not rehearsed or cliche on his Taper. A recorder. Recordings.) He films the chase from afar, and eventually cares head swells up fantastically in size and explodes. Viney veins root themselves into the ground and also wrap around Marvin and kill him on the spot alongside Care. Taperman then takes his recording to a film competition to show off his AMAZING new recording. Except Marvin isn't in any of the videos? It's just him and care? The twist being he murdered care himself on film and was Marvin the whole time. This is hinted at several times with both characters acting extremely similarly and also the pronouns and narrative perspectives constantly shifting between Marvin and taperman very confusingly. BUT there is a third character. A rival to taperman himself, who punishes him by beating his ass a few times and also shows him the path (literally a note with directions on it like the shadow monster man note) to find the school. That's how taperman knows where Marvin is hiding. His third persona, Hil, shows up when Taperman is fucking up and tells him to get his life straight and gives him directions. Much like Paul playing petscop, to help Rainer stop Marvin build his machine. Which somehow Rainer knows intimate details about Marvin's thoughts, has extremely similar goals as Marvin, builds petscop as a tool to assist Marvin in his deeds, but is somehow in contact with him enough when he kidnaps care that he can use petscop as a means to.. find Marvin? Thats circular logic. Paul is the new maker. He can close the loop. Rainer, new maker. The pen puzzle has you split the guardian into 3 version of himself and when you line the planes of separation up just right, your actions mirror your clones and the third version of you catches pen. Rainer wants to use petscop to rebirth care, but is mad Marvin wants to use petscop to rebirth care? That sounds dubious to me, what do you think?
Obviously this theory has a million fucking holes in it but the possibility is driving me crazy. It would explain why Belle only sees the npc version of Marvin, and not Paul, because they're the same person. It's how Marvin can have a conversation with Paul while moving at the same time and not miss a beat, he's on some Tyler durden shit in the first place. Its all completely crumpled when the nifty scene where she talks to Marvin, then Paul, clearly seperately happens though. Thanks for reading :)
