Anything unique or unusual when it comes to buying a house in Puerto Rico? Do buyers order inspections? How does title insurance work? Are attorneys typically involved? Will be purchasing a home and I’m interested in being knowledgeable.

Hey y'all! I need some help. My hair is a range of 2C through 3B, low-porosity, medium thickness and low-to-medium density, and have been on the CG method for about 5 years now. I don't color, apply any heat to it, or do much of anything that could damage it. My damage culprits have always been environmental (I live in Puerto Rico, so 90%+ humidity and 75°F - 105°F year-round) and tying my hair in a high ponytail to work out every day (I can't stand the feeling of wet/sweaty hair and product on the back of my neck). I'm not sure how to go around these two culprits. :( I sleep in satin pillowcases and always use silk scrunchies. My routine consists of Curlsmith products that I've slowly tested with until I found the best combination of them (wash, condish for 30 min., leave-in, gel styler, and finishing serum). Half of the products are targeting deep moisture and the other half are targeting frizz. I don't SOTC so my hair can last longer with the climate, and I've just now added a heat protectant to try and minimize environmental damage. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but my halo frizz is so so bad! Please help a gal out T.T
TL:DR; I minimize hair damage as much as possible and use moisturizing/anti-frizz products. Why do I have so much halo frizz?

I have been around Spanish for roughly the past 15 years. I took Spanish I, II, & III in high school, I played professional baseball after high school (many of my teammates were Spanish-speaking from the Dominican, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, & Mexico). After baseball, I spent a lot of time on Duolingo (I had a 700-day streak at one point!), but I never quite got it.
My flair is level 3 because I decided to start fresh on the platform, and I have logged about 200 hours over the last ~7 months. My grasp of the language has improved much more quickly since I started using CI as my primary mode of acquiring the language. I use a mixture of Dreaming Spanish, Lingopie, and play adventure video games in Spanish (currently replaying Ghost of Tsushima).
All of the work in school and almost two years on Duolingo really only taught me how to translate individual words. But I would be so frustrated because as soon as I came across native media or a native speaker spontaneously, it would be like I couldn't hear anything. Or I would get the first 4 words and try to translate them in my head, but the rest of the sentence would be lost.
One big difference is that I have a much more natural understanding of how the language fits together and sentence structure. I can think of an idea that I want to express, and if I open my mouth to express it, the words come out, just like in English.
There are some artifacts from all of the time that I spent trying to learn Spanish in the traditional way. I still get some words mixed up quite a bit (llegar & llevar are the biggest ones). Because I was first in the habit of translating, false cognates will mess me up (embarazada does not mean embarrassed ... usually lol).
For those of you who are new, I highly recommend comprehensible input as the primary mode of language acquisition.

I moved to California from Puerto Rico. I am 26.
I have had some trouble with my id due to ignorance but usually after I tell them it’s a US territory, a federally issued id, they let it go.
Today I was told due to their “policy” they can’t accept a PR id. I assured them it was a valid US id. They asked for a passport but I don’t have one (I don’t need one). I work in California and I paid my US taxes… they said no. It was embarrassing for me and I felt so discriminated against. I asked why, they said it even if other places accept them, they could lose their liquor license if they accept my valid Puerto Rican license.
I checked the guidelines for valid ids in California for alcohol and mine falls under valid ids…
Any recourse in this?

Hi Thunder family, I’m a regular viewer and thought you guys would be the best folks to ask for help. I haven’t used Reddit much so apologies if it’s long or there are any spelling mistakes in my post. I 28 female am in a tough spot with my boyfriend 27 male. We were out drinking today when my boyfriend got a call from his younger brother 21 male. After ending the call my boyfriend randomly told me about a trip his brother recently took to Puerto Rico last week and how he got drunk and was feeling up a girl. I normally wouldn’t care if he shares these kinds of things about friends but my dilemma is the fact that his brother has a girlfriend and she wasn’t the one he was feeling up. I got upset at him for putting me in this uncomfortable situation because I know his brother’s girlfriend and although we aren’t besties I would consider her a friend and have even gone on vacation together. My boyfriend asked me if I would tell his brother’s girlfriend and I said maybe. He told me this is why he doesn’t like telling me things and that he would be mad and feel betrayed if I tell the girlfriend what happened. I’ve stayed quiet the rest of the night and have been going over different scenarios and outcomes and I don’t know what to do. I feel that I should tell the girlfriend simply because of girl code and because I know her but I know my boyfriend would lose trust in me and both him and his brother would be mad at me. This would also spill into the rest of the family as the girlfriend goes to the same church as them and is close the whole family (she’s also their sister’s bestie). If I bring it up to the brother and tell him to tell his girlfriend he would be mad at my boyfriend for telling me and mad at me for addressing it with him and regardless possibly wouldn’t tell his gf. I have a good relationship with their family but I know if I open up to the mom or sister this would cause drama on all fronts for the above reasons. I think if their mom finds out she would beat both of the butts and possibly kick the brother or both out for their behavior as it’s not very Christian of them…. This has also let me down the rabbit hole of my own thoughts. I started wondering what other things my boyfriend is hiding from me. Has he himself done these kinds of things? He said he wouldn’t tell the girlfriend because he’s protecting his brother. This also made me wonder if the brother is protecting him and not telling me of similar or worse behaviors. I know it may seem small to some or like it’s not considered cheating the fact that he felt up a girl, but in my book that’s cheating and that’s why it bothers me. I personally would like to know if my boyfriend does these things and yes I would breakup with him. I’m not sure if the girlfriend feels the same way though or if to her it doesn’t matter and I’m making a big deal for nothing. My boyfriend tried to excuse the behavior by saying his brother doesn’t drink so he was very drunk so it was out of his control. This is also concerning that my boyfriend feels this way and again made me spiral more and question our relationship. Sorry this is long but I didn’t know who else to turn to without it getting back to anyone involved or their family. I feel like no matter what choice I make it’s a lose lose situation. So what should I do?

Wondering how common this is: I live in upstate NY and over the years, I've heard stories from different people who say there are signs hanging up in NYC or in Puerto Rico urging people to move to our community due to a low cost of living/strong social safety net programs. It's usually a boomer or conservative white person who's told me this, but last week I was talking to a Hispanic business owner and he said his cousin in PR saw a sign urging people to move to our area. Anyone else hear similar stories for their community/county? If it's true, who posts the signs? Landlords and housing programs? New York State itself?

That last line had me considering abstract ideas that includes a descriptive color. A purple banana is really not a good example because there is such a thing as purple bananas. I have seen them in Puerto Rico last year. But I will let it fly on technicality because I don't think that is known to most people.
A better example is China Cat Sunflower, by The Grateful Dead. Every line of the song is written in abstract ideas. There are 3 color references within. There's a silver kimono, a leaf of all colors and a golden stringed fiddle.
What else do we have out there? Also I'm curious how many people know what song the title lines are from....

I’m fairly new at UE in Puerto Rico. I have done over 30 trips and completed all of them. Some have been from Walmart and since it’s fairly new commodity here people have been using their postal address instead of residential addresses. Because of this I couldn’t deliver the orders I called support and their recommendation was to take the items back to the store. I asked them if this will affect me and they promised it would not affect me . 24 hrs afters my account was deactivated permanently I did the revision and still my account was deactivated. They said I did not delivered the packages and closed it off indefinitely. Any help UE was kind of good in my area also I’m in wait list in DD so I’m kind of tied up . Thanks for any help
