2024.05.17 12:56 YouIHe The Tremor Report #3 (for real this time)
Tremor Shakers, rejoice! For the time has come for more quaking! I am freed of the mines of the mirror dungeon in order to bring you another... TREMOR REPORT submitted by YouIHe to limbuscompany [link] [comments] Without further ado, let's get into the EGO The Slot MachinesWhat that arm do big boyHe looks cute Lol. Lmao. No The Snag Harpoon https://preview.redd.it/3ar52tqbly0d1.jpg?width=666&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a7a7ea1b09bee6df3ebc2f0e7adcfb25127bc2e There we go, our first real EGO. Snagharpoon is in a strange place. On one hand, it's a cheap, relliably rolling clash win button that bursts tremor, inflicts some potency, and comes with a pretty good passive, while also absolutely crippling the opponent's speed. On the other hand.. that offense level hurts. It hurts a lot. Often times, you will find the opponent gaining 3-4 power when clashing against it. It's okay up against "Strong" skills, but things that actually necesitate EGO to clash against are out of its water park. Also, ironically, due to Ishmael's best Tremor ID being LCCB (unless you are a freak who runs Molar in a tremor team), the passive is not gonna be bringing as much value as it does on say Liu Ish, it might even screw you out of Struggling clash wins. Nevertheless, Snagharpoon, despite overall lacking in many aspects, serves as a useful back up option for when Gunmael can't win a clash, with the addition of bursting tremor; a nice cherry on top. LegerdemainThat doesn't even look like an appleSome people consider Legerdemain to be one of the best ego in the game. I mean, a cheap AOE which inflicts paralyze? What's not to love. And yes, they are right. Legerdemain really is an amazing ego. Tremor or not. On tremor, it is even better... shame that Gregor has no ID to use it on. Rosespanner is, as discussed in the first tremor report, not a reliable tremor ID, and this ego does not justify bringing him. As for any other... well, they won't be bad. You should ask yourself however, is this ego worth giving up an actual tremor ID? I will say.. no. CapoteLook up boxman ishmaelI have been playing Tremor since Rosespanner Rodion came out. I have literally just today learned that this ego has a unique Tremor Burst effect on its corrosion. Capote is an okay EGO, providing SP Damage and some wrath damage up, not really useful on a Tremor team, but better than the altenative. The Corrosion, if the tremor burst staggers, inflicts 2 burn on 3 random units. Units. Not enemies, units. Also it lowers count by 2. This is garbage. Get out of my sight cowgirl. Rime ShankWhat is this whore doing hereYou might be asking "What is this doing here"? Well it bursts tremor lmao. Is Rime Shank good on a tremor team? Yeah, absolutely. Is it good because of the tremor burst? Nope! 10 sinking, 8 count is just too good to pass up, and the tremor team feeds it decently well. It's a good option.. if you have no pride or morals. Wishing Cairnhttps://preview.redd.it/2ucskoayqy0d1.jpg?width=666&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69bd813ff78b517867fd498c0ed41e14ef9d299aUnlike Legerdemain, this ego actually justifies the use of N Corp Don. That doesn't mean it is amazing, however. It juggles 3 different status effects, with tremor being by far the best supported, but still not good enough to really make this work for me. However, many others have reported successes with it, so it's not a bad pick. Also, if you want to be funny, using Blade Don on a full tremor team with this ego... kinda works honestly. 300 tremor bursts for life. Sunshower HagI want to pet her... pet her... pet her... keep petting till it is done...Another solid ego with a befuddling Tremor Burst effect on the corrosion. While Sunshower is a pretty strong EGO, I do not think I can justify bringing it to a tremor team. It's just far too unlikely to ever trigger. In addition, by bringing it, you're losing out on The Hag Suttra, which is actually very strong on Molar Outis. So yeahh, skip this one This thing https://preview.redd.it/g7mln3ausy0d1.jpg?width=160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57e07fa39e0dacd771a1146b9a83fc3f039387e3 A lot of people dislike this ego. I think it is very funny. ClamdionI have written smut of this, dm me for itEver wondered what an actual dedicated Tremor EGO looks like? Apparently, a woman with large breasts and a sticky axe. Effervescent Corrosion is just... perfect. A mass attack that inflicts a shit ton of tremor count, while also bursting it for good measure? And hell, why not, it also inflicts a bunch of bind with its passive? Oh, and its corrosion heals? And it can be solo fueled by molar outis? Oh yes mami! It's amazing, and incredibly fun to use ChainsaultThe straight jacket stays ON:) It's good Fluid Sac DonThe little sister of the faustulanceA victim of don's lack of good tremor ID. It is honestly not a bad ego, with a high natural roll, a bunch of effects to improve it, and a very good corrosion, but it really lacks something to make it stand out. 10 tremor is at least a big number tho Pursuance MeursaltMan really looks good in anything, huhMeursalt does not miss. On the awakening, you have a solid heal combined with a protection buff, and a light springling of tremor. On the corrosion, you have a huge damage steroid. It's not really a tremor ego, but you will be using it regardless. Healing is how you stay alive. Meursalt rodionCopycatIncredibly similar to the Meursalt ego, with a couple small differences. Overall, not really better or worse, just different. The lack of termor burst on awakening kinda sucks, but the betteer passive makes up for it Santa ClausHohoho! This ego has a lot going for it. It's almost like a WAW forced into the skin of a HE. Is it good? Yes. Tremor teams can't really count on long resonance chains, but you can still usually get a damage up on a couple big hitters, plus it bursts tremor AND heals SP. Think of it more as an SP healing tool to use whenever Outis goes first than something like Rose Garden Gregor. Binds HeathcliffOugh...This EGO beffudles me. On one hand, I can't say it is bad. A tremor team fuels it well, it buffs Heath up potently, bursts tremor, and hey! It even does a bit of sinking! But... I don't know, something just doesn't click on it for me. The Passive is sadly useless, as tremor struggles with long resonance chains. The Idea of bursting tremor, then getting buffs to whail on a staggered enemy is fun, but the fact the buffs mostly help with AOE also beffudles me. Still, it is undoubtfully a powerful ego, and its unique SP cost helps ensure you can always win your Sanity back. Binds OutisMmmfSimilar to the Heathcliff Binds, but instead of getting buffs it focuses purely on tremor. This makes it much better in a tremor team, surprisingly. Even without Tremor Collapse, this would be an amazing EGO that helps smoothe out the weaknesses of a Tremor team. With it? It's fucking glorious. The amount of damage you can dish out with this and Oufi Heathcliff almost makes you forget Tremor "sucks" And that is all! Unless a new tremor ID gets announced, the next tremor report will focus on non-tremor EGO that still come useful in a team. I hope you enjoyed reading, and keep shaking the meta, tremorites |

2024.05.17 12:43 waveitdowninside Full Face of Makeup Summer MVPs
I attended an outdoor wedding as part of the entourage (with outdoor photoshoots at different times of the day), and did my own makeup so I wanted to share the MVPs of my look. submitted by waveitdowninside to beautytalkph [link] [comments] I applied it at around 10am and went home at around 2am na the next day, and I spent most of the day outdoors, and the temperature was mga 40 degrees. I am super oily and super pawisin sa mukha, as in BEADS of sweat talaga dripping down my face. Unfortunately, I don't have close-up shots of my face for makeup comparison b/c I was too preoccupied with not dying from the heat lol. 1. Biore Perfect Milk - I always use this sunscreen when I'm doing a full face of makeup during the day because of how intense its oil-control properties are. It also helps prevent my makeup from slipping. Same reason I don't use it everyday is because it can be drying even for someone as oily as I am. Around P500 2. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Matt - After years of searching I have found my HG replacement for my dead and discontinued Becca Ever Matte Primer! Absorbs really, really well without drying out my face. No silicone-y or slippery feeling left afterwards. A cheaper alternative that works about as well is the Spotlight Skin Mattifying Primer. Only difference is it doesn't feel as comfortable kasi mas may silicone feel yung finish niya sa skin ko even after nag-absorb na. Bought at duty free which converted was just around P1K 3. BLK Life Proof Airy Matte Foundation - Bought this coz none of my full coverage foundations (ELDW, Maybelline, Revlon) were playing well with my Ben Nye Final Seal. Provided medium coverage until mga 3pm (that's about 5hrs of wear), then I needed to retouch na with my Pond's BB Powder. It looked more like a skin tint na lang after that point. Still photographed really well though until the afterparty. Tbh MVP ko siya coz it works with my Ben Nye. Applied with a flat kabuki brush. Around P700? Don't remember na exact price 4. Pond's Magic BB Powder - HG!! I used this to set my foundation, then used it to touch-up late in the afternoon. Oil control is amazing no matter how sweaty I get. Really great at removing that hulas look. I even use this on its own on light makeup days. Also works well under sunscreen spray. AND SUPER CHEAP. I'm on my second bottle na. Applied with a powder puff. P149-199 5. Ben Nye Final Seal - Sa sobrang HG ko nito, bumili ako ng foundation that can play well with it. Expensive but so worth it. I've tried other setting sprays (UD All Nighter, Nichido, Vice, Revlon), but they've all transferred EXCEPT for this one. This one talaga ZERO transfer no matter how many hours I'm out or how oily and sweaty I get. This literally forms a seal on your face so your makeup does not budge. Not advisable for dry skin though because it is really drying. Cheaper alternative would be Revlon Lock It. Very minimal transfer when I was testing it out, not drying, and worked well with my full coverage foundations. P1830 discounted to P1593 with shop voucher for 4oz (around 118ml) 6. Kiko Milano Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick - New HG! This did not budge AT. ALL. Kahit tumulo yung pawis ko sa may eyes ko, this didn't fade, melt, or transfer. I had this all over my lid and it's a bright color so halata talaga if mawala siya. Color payoff is also amazing; no need for multiple swipes unless you're extra like me. Got compliments for my eye makeup even during the evening. Now I want to buy this in every color lol. Around P700 7. Y.O.U. Sunbrella Outdoor Sunscreen Spray - I use an active so I knew I had to get a touch-up sunscreen that wouldn't mess up my makeup. Bought this coz this dried down the best on my skin, and worked really well for me. Nung humahapdi na mukha ko from the prolonged sun exposure, I sprayed this and it helped. Sprayed on my face and shoulders twice, and it didn't disturb my makeup or make me overly oily. Worked really well even my guy friends were borrowing it. P399 8. Revlon Oil-Absorbing Volcanic Roller - HG. Tbh I really thought gimmick lang toh, but I was desperate to get my makeup to last throughout the whole wedding na nagpa-budol na ko when the SA said you can use this on top of my makeup. Wedding day I learned that some products are really worth the budol. Did not disturb my makeup at all, and absorbed my oiliness completely. I was able to do 3 full passes throughout the day before bumigay siya and I had to wash it na (yes, that's how oily my skin is lol). Mahal lang compared to other oil control sticks, but I've tried the Sassy Cosmetics (P200), and after 1 full pass, I had to wash the Sassy Cosmetics one na. So may difference din talaga sa quality based on the price. Around P800 Other things to note:

2024.05.17 12:43 Grand_Reanimation Chapter 1: Future for the Present
"Access... Gilded Feathers"... submitted by Grand_Reanimation to GoldenFeathers [link] [comments] In the dry deserts of the western border of India resides the Spiral City of Nixtom. In this district, one could find the most prestigious school in the entire country: High School Kolar. After being closed for over a year, HS Kolar finally opened its gates once again as the war had finally ended. With the start of a new Academic year, the winds brought a fresh batch of new students. One of them being… Abhi. "Big Ahh School." Said Abhi while he observed the vast establishment of Kolar. The enormous and illuminating marble-crafted work of art school building might even be mistaken for the Taj Mahal, well at least without its spherical dome on the top. The outdoor campus was as vibrant and green as grass could be; covering the main building from all four sides, with the beautiful shrubbery wonders of topiaries; acting as dividers between the grass panels and the main marble tile pathway leading towards the building's entrance. It would be an understatement to call this scenery beautiful. While walking towards the school, Abhi stopped and noticed a dog near a telephone pole on the street walk outside the school gate, he went there to pet it. While playing with the dog, Abhi noticed some mushrooms nearby and picked them up. After some time, Abhi looked around and held his gaze at some peculiar-looking people in black suits and black goggles for an extended time. Abhi then got up and walked inside the campus, these people in black suits were even seen inside the school. Abhi ignored them and walked through the main entrance. Ding! Tring! Tring! The first day of Abhi's High School life began as the school bell rang in the light of a new millennium. Abhi jogged towards the school building after he heard the bell. Upon getting inside he looked around, displaying wonder in his eyes. He stood in the middle of a giant hall, but the enormous hall wasn't the only wonderful thing, there was also the interior of the school building which was noticeably different from the exterior. The interior resembled modern architecture. Unlike the exterior, the inside walls were made of cement with white overpaint, whereas the outside was built from marble, and the railings, poles, and benches all around the place were made from exquisite-looking wood. The hall even had a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling and two curved staircases leading up to the second floor which was for the school's officials such as the principal. Even though the interior looked different from the exterior, it was still elegant and harmonized well with the school's marble exterior. One of the walls was covered with pictures of the school's special events, and achievements, and even celebrities from all over the world visiting and even studying in the school were visible. A particular wall though, just had a lot of writing on it, not only that but it was written on a brass plate. "Man, I gotta hurry up," Said Abhi in a rush. Many hallways were branching out from the main. Abhi seemed perplexed, perhaps he wasn't confident enough in his navigation skills to find his classroom. Yet suddenly, Abhi closed his eyes and softly mumbled something. After he opened his eyes, his expression had completely changed, he looked and acted far more confidently, he soon chose a way and started walking towards it. The hallways were long and the staircases were wide. After a few minutes of walking up to the third floor, Abhi finally reached his classroom '1C'. He went inside, the classroom was large, but not enormous compared to the rest of Kolar's Gigantic architecture. The classroom had not one, not two but three class boards. Two of them were at the front, one being a whiteboard, the second being a blackboard and the third was another whiteboard placed at the back of the classroom. Every student including Abhi entered the classroom and occupied the two-person benches at random. While walking in, he looked up and noticed a black cuboid-shaped box attached to the ceiling. He seemed curious about this object but chose to ignore it and took a seat in the front of the last column alongside a guy with peculiar-looking orange hair. The benches were made of wood, yet seemed quite comfy, and as with everything else in this school, the benches were large too, Abhi looked towards his left and found a window beside him. He looked around some more and then looked at himself as if he was comparing himself to his fellow students. When compared to the attire Abhi was wearing, the students of HS Kolar were of unique appearance. Once everyone was seated there was a moment of awkward silence in the room. In that instance, the guy who sat next to Abhi suddenly stood up and asserted: "Good morning everyone, my name is Veer. I'm delighted to be here amongst you all. From what I can tell we all are students from different places far and wide all across our nation. With the presence of such diversity, I'm sure we all want to get to know each other. So, I was thinking why don't we introduce ourselves to the class as a starting ceremony for our first day at school". Students gave Veer a peculiar look and in a few seconds another student from the back replied to Veer: "That's a good idea Veer but how about we wait till our Class Teacher comes in, so she can get to know us as well." Said a pretty girl with thin eyes and brownish-dark hair. "Good point Dep, let's wait for the teacher." Replied Veer. The rest of the students in the class nodded with approval. Creak! Bam! The classroom door smacked open. A Beautiful, fair, curvy, and well-dressed lady in a saree with long black hair; a pair of specs, and a giant smile on her face walked into the class and stood in front of the class cabinet. "Good Mornin' homies, welcome to class 'C' of 11th grade, I'm going to be your homeroom teacher for this year. You may call me Ms Oxlong''. The class greets back the teacher in unison. "Did she just call us homies?" Some of the students whispered among themselves. "From what I heard while walking in, you guys wanted to have an introduction session in my presence, right? I'd love that, but before we do it, I have to inform you guys about some important information first. To start, I'd like to give an insight into the schedule and schematics of our academic lives. And also, I have to present a special message to you guys". The Class nods following teacher Oxlong's words. "Hmm, I Wonder what the special message would be," said Abhi in a subtle tone. "Probably some boring informational video or the principal saying hello." Said Veer while looking at Abhi. "Ha ha, probably." Replied Abhi. "Get your notes ready and write down all the information necessary." Said Oxlong. The students followed the teacher's words and wrote down all the necessary information…. a few minutes of info dump later the teacher got close to her final announcement: "Finally, by this week's end, y'all have to give a Merit Test. This test won't be counted in your overall grade, but do not make the mistake of taking this lightly, as this test will determine your fate as a student of Kolar". The entire class stopped writing down the instructions. They looked up at the teacher and displayed an uncanny look on their faces with flared eyebrows, and wide-open mouths, all of them said at once: "What! A test in the first week?" "Now…now y'all don't need to worry; there isn't anything to worry about. This Merit Test is just to evaluate all of your individual and overall class limits which would provide data for our team to maximize the growth of all you pokie-bears." The teacher noticing this reaction reassured the students: Students, relieved to hear this, relaxed their eyebrows and faces to nod towards the teacher with approval. Wait but what in the hell is a pokie-bear? Some of the students thought, as they weren't familiar with the modern lingo. "Now as for the last announcement; we have a special informational video for y'all." "See! Told ya, it was gonna be just another boring informational video nothing new." Said Veer with a smug grind while looking at Abhi. "You called it for real." Said Abhi while softly chuckling. Tap! The teacher flicks on a switch placed next to the blackboard. The black cuboid box above started to zrrr Vibrate and illuminate green lights. Abhi was paying utmost attention to this, with his face looking like he just witnessed a dark angel descend down from heaven. Some of the students looked at this happening with intrigue: "Wow, I have seen projectors being used in special halls before but Kolar has them in every class?" Some were looking up with blank faces: "I didn't notice that projector before." The teacher held a remote in her hand and clicked a button. Immediately the cuboid box projected and displayed a computer interface. She then went to her desk and opened up a silvery device with "Soni" imprinted on its back; this device seemed to be connected to the black cuboid above. "Damn! They even got laptops in every class huh?" Said Veer referencing the device. "Isn't that like a… computer?" Said Abhi. "Well, a laptop is pretty much just a portable computer so you are half correct" Replied Veer. Abhi looked amazed after hearing this, he exuded curiosity, his eyes glistening with intrigue. He almost seemed like he had never even heard about such technology. Seeing this, Veer lets out a friendly smile towards Abhi's excited expression. The teacher then pulled down a white curtain from a large white cylinder placed on top of the main blackboard. This was used as a screen for the projector. "Alright before we start, I'd just like to inform y'all that this special informational video comes straight from the core of the education department in the Capital, and is a mandatory watch for everyone. This will only be played once among all classes simultaneously, so pay attention". CLICK! A video started playing on the white screen. A man maybe in his thirties pops up on the screen. He has long white hair, deep brown eyes, and a darker brown skin complexion. He greets the camera by saying "Namaste" while joining his hands. As soon as he appears on the screen every student, including Abhi, goes wide-eyed, being in disbelief, their jaw drops to the floor and their eyebrows hit the ceiling. The person in the video starts to speak: "Good morning students of Kolar. My name is Vishva Pratap Raghavan but you may know me as the… 'President of India' ". ...…. |

2024.05.17 12:40 sbwns PSA: Genius new trading scam (gamechallengers)
So a couple of my buddies fell victim to a trading scam, and with a few of us having worked in cyber security we were genuinely impressed by the ingenuity. I would like to share the details to spread awareness as it could definitely get anyone. submitted by sbwns to cs2 [link] [comments] It begins with a compromised account on your friends list. The hacker will message you asking if you'd like to join a CS tournament they're partaking in, prompting you to register for it at gamechallengers.com. They seem to be selective with their targets, only asking someone the account has played CS with before. The site itself looks like a faceit clone, seems legit enough and asks you to login to participate. As soon as you go to enter your details a window will pop up prompting you to sign in with Steam (first red flag - does not wait for you to click "Login with Steam"). Login with Steam window As you can see the window looks legit enough, the URL is good and all the links go where they should. Here comes the kicker - this isn't even a browser window. It's just a component rendered on the page, and while you can drag it around it's bound within the webpage itself. They seem to have recreated the steam login page and since it's not an actual browser they can put any URL they want in the fake address bar. A big red flag at this point would be that your browser wouldn't prompt you to auto-fill the credentials. After this point once you enter your credentials they obviously have them, but you'd think with MFA on Steam Guard they wouldn't be able to do much. This is where there seems to be some lapse on Steam's part because we haven't been able to figure out why the account was not trade locked until it was too late. But - once the hacker has your credentials they wait for your next login on Steam. When you do, it triggers them to change the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator to a new device which sends you an approval notification. Unsuspectingly you would assume it's just to approve your login and let it through. A couple of days later the hacker initiates a trade to their account draining all of your CS skins, and you no longer get the trade approval notification as it's on their device. I would have assumed when Steam Guard device is changed your account is trade locked for a week or two, but for whatever it was not. In fact, it was only when the original owner of the account realised what had happened and changed the Steam Guard device back to their phone did Steam decide to trade lock the account. TLDR to keep in mind:

2024.05.17 12:38 Kunal_Sen 40 Years of Sharaabi
After Amitabh Bachchan’s near fatal accident and before his ill-fated stint in politics and between the big blockbusters Coolie (1983) and Mard (1985) made by Manmohan Desai, his arch rival, there is also the Prakash Mehra hit Sharaabi, another Bachchan starrer. Indeed, even by Mehra’s own standards, set by the super blockbuster Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, blockbuster Namak Halaal, and super hits Zanjeer, Hera Pheri and Laawaris, Sharaabi seems lesser but it was made with remarkable difficulties and remains his last success as a filmmaker. This post is an ode to the product and the pain in its production. submitted by Kunal_Sen to bollywood [link] [comments] The Poster THE STORY The origins story of Sharaabi has three versions and the truth lies somewhere in between. The first and best known one is that the film is a version of the English film Arthur. The second account comes straight from the horse’s mouth and suggests the idea was born in, if not out of, thin air. “We were on the World Tour of 1983, the very first of its kind for the Industry and having performed in almost 10 cities in US and London, flying to Trinidad & Tobago from NYC, when Prakash Mehra also travelling with me, suggests we should do a film based on a father son relationship where the son is an alcoholic.” - Amitabh Bachchan Lastly, the story goes that while shooting in the outdoors for Laawaris, Mehra made friends with the hotel owner who fascinated him as a functioning alcoholic who ran a successful business as well. Mehra’s arch-rival Desai alluded that the friendship was likely based on kinship. “Only a Sharaabi can make a film called Sharaabi,” Desai said in the press back then. Mehra’s reply can’t be reprinted. But his films always had autobiographical elements. The music director Anand ji said that like his films’ orphaned or neglected heroes, Mehra too faced abandonment issues because when he was young, his father had become a sadhu. THE HERO “… blew my hand off with a Diwali bomb .. took me 2 months to move my thumb to my index finger.” - Amitabh Bachchan Still recovering from the grievous injury on the sets of Coolie in the July of ’82, which forced Bachchan first to wear special belts around his stomach to basically prevent his guts from spilling out and then long shirts and coats to hide the scars, an accident involving a spurious Anaar on Diwali day of 1983 meant that Bachchan lost most of his skin, webbing and use of fingers on his left hand (and Bachchan is left-handed). But he worked through immense pain and improvised by hiding his injured hand in pockets, creating the iconic look from the film, though in one song, the blood and bandage is woven into the narrative. Hiding Pain THE HEROINE This was the time when there was a heroine crisis in Amitabh Bachchan’s screen life. Hema Malini had started a family and cut down on work. Parveen Babi was unwell. Jaya Bachchan had retired. Reportedly, Raj Babbar made it difficult for Smita Patil to be available for Bachchan’s projects. There were doubts over Shabana Azmi’s commercial potential. And Mehra had had date problems with Rakhee in the past. While Zeenat Aman had worked with the duo in Laawaris, Sharaabi’s role of a Hindustani dancer was different. In stepped Jaya Prada. THE SCRIPT Bachchan’s idea and insistence to speak the lines in a drawl-like fashion of a drunkard and Mehra’s concern about pacing brought about the brilliant joint decision to keep the lines sharp and short so that Bachchan could draw them out. The fact that his character Vicky in the film was also a budding poet seeking vazan in his spoken creations that he would only find later, like an older-day Janardan Jordan (of Rockstar fame), meant that there also had to a graph along with the meter. Kader Khan memorably put pen to paper. THE SONGS Kishore Kumar was Bachchan’s voice in Mehra’s films. But when Sharaabi went on floors, a cold war was brewing. Some time ago, Kishore had expected Bachchan to agree to a cameo in a film called Mamta Ki Chhaon Mein but influenced by Desai, who had a long-running feud with Kishore over monetary issues and artistic differences despite their collaborative success, Bachchan declined. Kishore announced he wouldn’t sing for Bachchan again, leaving Sharaabi’s pre-production in crisis. It was Bappi Lahiri, Kishore’s nephew and Mehra’s Namak Halaal music director, who brought the icons together for Sharaabi. The truce wouldn’t last long though. Kishore got upset that Bachchan got playback credit before him for singing the rap section (“There was a cat…” ) in his “Jahaan Chaar Yaar” unlike their jugalbandi in “My Name in Anthony Gonsalves” in Desai’s Amar Akbar Anthony where Bachchan had dubbed the English-speaking portions. Kishore’s work in Sharaabi was historic enough to earn him all the nominations at that year’s Filmfare Awards for Best Playback Singer (Male), a record number. Kishore would win for “Manzilein Apni Jagah Hain”. Unlike Namak Halaal’s Pag Ghunghroo, he even performed the classical alaap himself before the Log Kehte Hain Main Sharaabi Hoon section of the Salaame-E-Ishq Meri Jaan-like song “Mujhe Naulakha Mangwa De Re”. RJ Rahoul has a great take on the making of Intehaa Ho Gayi in which it’s impossible to detect when Bachchan’s dialogues end and Kishore’s singing starts. Despite their differences off screen, they were that close on it. ... Sharaabi would win its year's Filmfares only in the Music Category but time has also marked Vicky Kapoor as one of Amitabh Bachchan's iconic roles and perhaps his greatest performance in the 1980s. |
