It works like this
When you start DCS, your PC has to connect to ED's master server to request permission to run the software you spent your hard earned coin on.
IF either you cannot connect to master server OR master server has yet again fallen on it ass ... then you cannot play the software you rented

 | Not a beginner (an intermediate player), but I am having trouble getting past 1500 rating. I tried everything, taking the chess lessons on Chess.com, analyze most games, etc. But nothing works. Been stuck here for two months already. I get close to getting 1500 but then drop lower. I play 5-10 ten-minute rapid games per day, am trying to stop playing bullet and blitz, and doing some daily games. Found this interesting - when I was redoing the LM and thermal grease in my 9i (see my other thread on the service shop screwing up my laptop), I followed the Legion 9i service manual on the tear down. It's pretty comprehensive until you get to the actual repasting/LM section.
The manual doesn't cover any application of putty or pads for the VRMs or the VRAM nor literally anything for the GPU.. I guess it's the absence of these instructions I found interesting and if this is normal in service documentation.
Is this normal or is it specific to the Legion 9i because of the crazy cooling loop system they employed over the VRMs and VRAM? It's a pretty neat system - the copper laces over these components and is tied to the cooler master pump cooler.
For what it's worth I did use thermal putty on the components and thermal grizzly on the GPU - I can't seem to find in HWinfo where you can monitor the VRM/VRAM temps. Maybe those sensors don't exist on the laptop MB, hence no telemetry..

I had a lovely time with Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The nostalgia was wonderful and it managed to do what a lot of games don't always achieve for me personally, and that's keep me hooked. Keep me excited, to the point where I'm thinking about it at work etc.
I was thoroughly impressed by what the devs managed to cook up. Was it a perfect game? No, but it was well worth my time. I really appreciated the cutscenes (very few) that went beyond just a single frame of characters talking (like the final showdown).

QOL suggestions for future titles:
- HP & MP restore at Save Points
- Sort current party to the top row(s) in Castle gear and rune screens
- Skip cutscenes option & cancel current activity options. I don't want to have to sit through the rest of a race or card game if I'm already losing. Allow me to stop the activity and restart
- I wish there were more unique skills, especially for the more prominent party members. Seign & Marisa only getting two of these? Very disappointing. I wish the skill rune-lens you get weren't just generic attacks, and that there were even more with really cool effects and animations - this would help towards the lack of unique character skills. What else would have been lovely = Epic finishers...I'm thinking about the final boss and the very cool attack animation that is done...
- A lot of the hero combo's were literally just the same attack animation of a rune lens. I wish there were a lot of more unique and powerful combos.
- Now this might seem silly, but I wish character weapons actually changed in appearance once you hit those unique levels where the name changes. Sure the characters are HD-2D but many other similar games have their pixelated weapons change in appearance.
- You could get rid of random encounters and put "shadow" versions of enemies on the path (think Persona 3 and 4). In some cases we can avoid them and in others we can't.
- Really hoping for the Primal Lenses to become part of battles in a future title

Malr1ne is back. It seems like no team can really compete with Falcons right now. They shaped the meta with their signature heroes so they have the greatest understanding of how things work. They seemed untouchable but with the stagnant patch giving other teams time to catch up, they seem more vulnerable than ever.
S - Championship Contender - XG
XG were undefeated in the Wallachia until the grand final, barely losing to Spirit 2-3. Ame seems back to peak form. I could see XG winning the tournament over Falcons. XM is probably best SnipeViper 2 and one of the best Zeus 2's so the fact that XG didn't pick them in the Wallachia GF vs Spirit weakens the team a bit.
A - Runner Up Contender - BB
Betboom is on the otherside of XG and Ame's upswing. Before Wallachia, I expected BB to be untouchable by everyone except Falcons and contend with XG. But their recent weakness hints at instability and their reputation as being prone to tilt.
B - Dark Horses - Tundra, Liquid
Tundra
I am most hopeful about Tundra in this tier. I think they are the team with the biggest chance to surprise in this event. Falcons, XG, and BB are showing signs of weakness which I think Tundra are best poised to capitalize off of. Tobi is a great player but I would not put him in the same class as the other players on this team. Ramzes is coming from pos 1 but I think he was one of the best offlaners in the world when he played on EG. Long term, I don't expect stability particularly if they don't show results. Ramzes clearly favors pos 1 but for his first few events while passions are high, I expect big things.
Liquid
Liquid are a championship team on paper but somehow they always fall short. I also expected much more from 33 and despite one of my favorite players being zai, I think 33 is a clear upgrade. If things click, they will go far.
C - Missing something - Aurora, SR, AR, Quest
These teams should be dark horses but they are missing something.
Aurora
lorenof was exactly what this team needed. While 23savage and jabz are content farming until late, lorenof balances out their farm heavy style by pushing the tempo and outright carrying them early when he gets a good lane. The meta seems to favor longer games so the team is comfortable.
SR
My favorite team that always seems to disappoint. I was not expecting three new players around rtz and saberlight to amount to much but they surprised with flashes of greatness. skem seems like a great addition to spice up the team dynamics and he might be just what the team needs to break out and become a dark horse. I'm probably biased but I think Arteezy has it in him to match up with other great carries.
AR
AR seem like the Chinese SR but with "better" players. I think they have the potential to be as good as XG. Lou seems like the next Ame, Ori is a great and underrated mid, faith_bian and fy are legends, tianming is a sleeper 5, and their coach is lanm. What's missing?
Quest
I feel like they are being kept down by Falcons preventing them from reaching top tier events. As a result, I think their playstyle has stagnated from where it was earlier in the year. With Falcon's guaranteed invites, things are looking up for Quest.
D - Wildcard - Heroic, Navi
Heroic
Heroic surprised in Birmingham by reaching top 8. With NA pubs dying, SA is the region that suffered the most. I think they can pull of upsets against the other teams but they are definite underdogs.
Navi
Navi beat Spirit to qualify to this event so I definitely think they have a chance to go far.

So, many people agree the villagers in NH were too samey and they needed more dialogue. And, obviously when a new game comes out the hope is that they improve this. But tbh, I think Nintendo could do so much more with villagers. Imagine for a moment, you are in the design room, what do you think would make villagers notably better than they are currently that's reasonably achievable?
Here's my hot take, even if the villagers had 100 extra lines of dialogue there's still a problem, at least 2 of my villagers are exactly the same. There's 10 villagers and 8 personalities, which means no matter what you have minimum 2 repeated personalities (and let's be real, most people have more repeats than that) which contributes massively to the dialogue feeling stale.
Is the solution more personality types? No! Because the second thing everyone complains about is wanting more villagers, so we would just run into the problem again.
So whats my solution? Giving villagers more dialog "pools" to draw from. A villagers personality would set their base dialogue (sidebar: I would like at least 2 personalities to be standoffish if not outright mean so it's more rewarding to befriend them, ur girl loves a project), then they would have 2-3 other traits/interests that they could "grab" dialogue from instead.
Depending on how in depth they wanted to go, this could functionally replace hobbies. Here are some example traits/interests, with some "hobby" style reactions to go with them:

- The obvious one, Species - Like how frogs mention they like the rain, but for everyone. This one's really economical because there are lots of shared traits so they could just mix and match (dogs and cats both have fupaws, goats and rhinos both have horns, etc.) which would make it seem like there's more custom dialogue than there is.
- Snowy/Tropical - They prefer cool or hot weather respectively and comment on whether they like or dislike the current weather. Affects what kind of drinks they carry around, be more likely to be outside in their preferred season, and they could fan themselves in summer or shiver in winter.
- Stargazer - Interested in space, talks about stars and planets (and aliens, perhaps?). Mentions hanging out with Celeste, lets you know if there's going to be shooting stars, talks about astrology etc. Stays up late if there's a meteor shower, read books with stars on them/magazines for the horoscopes.
- History Buff - Interested in the museum, comments on your recent donations, mentions bugs/fish currently in season, interest in fossils and gyroids, comments on Brewster's gyroid room and talks about blathers. More likely to be in the museum, look at bugs with magnifying glass.

After actively playing with the books, and from feedback from others, I have updated my Dark Sun '95 books to fix various typos, errors, and inconsistencies. Also, despite being a later release, I have also made an alternative book for psionics using the Skills & Powers version since I am playing in a game using that and a compiled book for that was desperately needed. There were quite a few holes and issues in the published material and we've patched that as best we could without deviating from the original material.
Everything you need to play Dark Sun using AD&D 2E should be found in these books. If you do find anything that needs fixing, or if you have any ideas that could be included, please let me know.

My parents have been together my whole life. Lots of complications throughout the years, etc. I can give an entire history of abuse at the literal hands of my father back to when I was in third grade as I have been deeply traumatized, as has my younger sibling (28 F). I will try to post key events for context in an attempt to catch up to the present.
Firstly, I made peace with my childhood when I was about 26 after a long talk about my OCD with my parents where my dad expressed that he deals with a lot of the symptoms I talked about. I chalked it up to him being an undiagnosed whatever the hell he has. I haven't forgiven him, but I have an understanding. They should have split IMO the first time he put his hands on someone, but she stayed out of survival, which I don't fault her for.
2007:
Once when I was in high school she called me and told me that she had my sister from daycare and that she wasn't coming back, and that she couldn't come get me because dad said he was going to kill her if she came home. I begged for her not to leave me, and after the call I saw that he had a gun out on his bed when I walked past their bedroom. She came home late that night and slept in my bedroom with my sister. She has since told me that he would also make threats to burn the house down if she ever left him, burn down her new house, kill all of us, etc.
Skip to about 2012-2014:
When I moved out of state and out of their house to be with my boyfriend my dad was already pissed that I was going to visit and basically told me to never come back. I was in a rush to leave anyways, because he had recently beat my sister with a plate so loudly that I could hear it over my gaming headset with friends in another room. So, I granted his wish and didn't see him for over a year. As I was packing I told my sister and mom that if he puts his hands on anyone I'm going to sue them for custody of my sister.
Obviously, my relationship with my mother and my sister at this time became strained as they lived with him so I couldn't visit often. While I was gone he started stalking my mother and installed an app on her phone so he could track her at all times. She worked in an office building that didn't have good service and he'd ask her why she wasn't at her desk, etc. He sent her various threatening messages that I screenshotted and sent to myself on her phone. He was under the impression she was cheating on him, and went so far as to buy a semen test kit to test a literal mayo stain on one of her work clothes. He was unhinged and completely psychotic at this time, and I was completely, and still am, on my mothers side.
Not sure of the rest of this timeline as far as dates up until the present, so here are the key events after this stalking episode:
I told her that she needs a real plan. First of all he's violent when angry, even if he's in a wheelchair. I feel like he would try and hurt himself and obviously burn the house down since that was always his main threat, and that me and my mom and sister might have to go through a fucking criminal investigation. I literally cannot stomach it.
Also, I am scared for my dad because holy fuck. He can't walk, he can't do anything for himself. The fucked up part of me cares for him still. The logical part of me knows he brought this upon himself. I just don't know what to do. My mother's plan is shaky at best, and it's just a fucking mess. I told her that she needs to confide in her sister-in-law who is married into the family to see if her and my uncle can take him on, because my mom has never asked for shit, and the whole family (he has like 6 surviving siblings) knows that he's an abusive prick and that my mom doesn't and has never deserved to be treated the way he has treated her. But again, I'm conflicted.
I told my mom that she needs to hold onto the house for now because she doesn't even know the dude that well and then what, she ends up homeless if he's not a good fit? IDK. Nobody is thinking things through, and I am expected to keep this secret until she goes through with it? I am going to lose my mind, and have already been up at night crying and throwing up because of the anxiety. Please, if anyone can give me any guidance I'd sincerely appreciate it.

- Dad accused Mom of cheating with a dude at the tyre shop in town. Mom admits this is when she stopped loving him. This wasn't the first time he had accused her, but she had enough.
- This is around when he starts the stalking episode
- I find out, yadda yadda yadda from above, and I found her a lawyer and a women's shelter that would help her disappear.
- She loses her nerve and doesn't go through with it.
- We find out that Dad has been having an internet affair with some lady and was sending her money on the DL
- Mom found out about internet affair after he made some mistakes with covering his tracks
- My sister and I also found out and my dad was pissed because he said my mom was cheating and that she was just trying to get us on her side
- Mom and dad plan to go seperate ways.
- they don't
- They move closer to me because I have a son. Things calm down for a long time until they need work done on their house.
- My dad is so paranoid that my mom is cheating with the construction dudes that he makes my mom pack herself a cooler with food and drinks and makes her sit in her room all day.
- I am barely able to get my mom out of the house to run errands etc because dad is paranoid that I'm taking her to meet her alleged boyfriend, etc.
- Things stay calm for a few years, to my knowledge.
- Dads health slides. He can no longer walk. He's in a wheelchair and needs my mothers assistance with literally everything from dressing and using the restroom, etc.
- This keeps her close as well, because she has to stay and take care of him.
- They cannot afford a home health aide with insurance or otherwise.
- Mom came to me literal days ago and said that she's planning on divorcing him and is she a POS for wanting to leave him given his health problems. I tell her NO and that she deserves to have a happy life.
- 2 days after this she tells me she has a guy she's been talking to that was one of her old classmates from school, and he's super kind and has a ranch back home with horses and blah blah blah and she can come stay etc etc.

2024.05.20 08:07 Virtualized_Potato I need help resolving some issues after updating to 1.6.1170
I used to play in Skyrim version 1.6.1130, everything worked back then (same mods, same load order, same skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini), I decided to update since I read that now it should be working as intended and that the great majority of modders updated their mods to work with 1.6.1170... Big Mistake.
I found myself in multiple problems: First Address Library wasn't working, turns out, for some reason I forgot to update USSEP, when I did, it worked. So I proceeded to manually check every single mod I had installed and updated each and every one.
Then I found myself facing a new issue, .NetScriptFramework was failing, reporting the next error message:
Initialization failed! Main::Initialize threw an exception. See 'NetScriptFramework.log.txt' file for more information. Message returned was: InvalidOperationException(Version Library error: File not found (NetScriptFramework.SkyrimSE.1_6_1170_0.bin)!)

According to another post, it might have multiple solutions, but after trying everything there was in the post, I can't seem to find a solution.
I'll leave my modlist, plugins and ini files here for anyone to check, I don't really know much about modding, I apologize if there are conflicts in my load order, but this same modlist (apart from disabling .Net Script Framework) worked flawlessly in 1.6.1130, and as soon as I updated, everything died.
I'll also leave my EngineFixes.log file here so anyone can read it, but I'll tell you now that the supposed quicksaves, autosaves and saves that it's trying to open in C:\Users\pc\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\__MO_Saves\ doesn't exist whatsoever, so idk why that is happening tbh.

I found myself in multiple problems: First Address Library wasn't working, turns out, for some reason I forgot to update USSEP, when I did, it worked. So I proceeded to manually check every single mod I had installed and updated each and every one.
Then I found myself facing a new issue, .NetScriptFramework was failing, reporting the next error message:
Initialization failed! Main::Initialize threw an exception. See 'NetScriptFramework.log.txt' file for more information. Message returned was: InvalidOperationException(Version Library error: File not found (NetScriptFramework.SkyrimSE.1_6_1170_0.bin)!)
