My (f20) brother (m28) and his fiancée (f30) found her along the road about 5 years ago as a kitten. Neither of them had their own place and both lived with their parents, so Snowy lived in my family’s (parents and siblings) home. Brother’s fiancée couldn’t keep a cat in her home bc of her parents.
The second she came into our house, I loved her. She slept with me every night, and would lay with me when I take naps. She would bite pencils as I wrote with them doing homework or cuddled with me, followed me around the house everywhere, and waited outside the bathroom door for me. Snowy would meow at the door if she wanted me to let her out and I would meow back (duh!), and my mom has pointed out how she doesn’t do that with other people. Every day I got home from school or work, she’d run to the door and wait for me to walk in. She memorized the sound of my car or the general time I arrived home, bc she didn’t wait for anyone else like that. I have a pink stuffed animal monkey from 2nd grade that she likes to drag around and pounce on, that traveled with her to my brother’s new house.
When I was going through really rough bouts of depression, feeling like living wasn’t worth it, and constantly at odds with my parents, Snowy was there. Some weekends I’d lay in bed all day and then sleep for 12 hours, and she’d be with me the whole time. If I was crying, she’d rub her head against my face, or she’d walk into my room if she wasn’t already there. I’d paint and draw through the night, and she’d keep me company. When I played the piano, she’d lay in her cat bed beside it and listen until I was done. I always crave innocent affection, especially laying alone at night, and Snowy being there to cuddle helped me more than words can even say. She is the singular reason that I made it through the worst years of my life. She is my best friend.
I took care of trimming her claws (indoor cat, only outside with a person), bathing her, brushing her, and cleaning up her eyes or nose when she was sick. I took her outside every day. He took care of the vet bills to get her fixed, dewormed, and all the shots when they first found her. We both shared the responsibility of doing the litter box and feeding/watering the cats. We do have 2 other cats, however one is mainly outside and the other doesn’t like being held or cuddled or walked towards by people. His fiancée didn’t spend much time with Snowy when she was at our house, and my brother didn’t spend as much time with her either.
That being said, Snowy is technically my brother and his fiancée’s cat. They asked me to visit the new house yesterday night because Snowy had just been moved that morning and was scared. They also said I can visit her whenever, however our work schedules only allow for the weekends.
My father won’t let me get a new cat unless we get rid of the cat that doesn’t like people. For one, I’m not rehoming a rescue cat that’s been here for 6 years to get a new cat. For another, she’s traumatized from being abused as a kitten, and there’s absolutely no way I am putting her through the torture of meeting new people and living in a new home. F that.
I know they have technical ownership over Snowy and they love her, but my bond with this cat is making it hard to let go. My bed feels empty without her, and I keep seeing the other cats out of the corner of my eye and for a split second say “Snowy!” in my head. But it’s not Snowy. I genuinely feel depressed without her here.
Would I be the asshole if I asked them to bring her back?

Hello, this is a new account I made for this, as it's something that I've kind of been left simmering with, with no real network of support. For some context, I have autism, and anxiety, amongst a couple of other things that can affect the way I interact with people negatively, and I am receiving the appropriate professional help for that, but this is still something to factor in with how I'm feeling, so it would be irresponsible(?) not to mention it, if I'm intent on providing the full picture here.
I (18, NB) go to University, and I have a relatively large circle of friends that I have accumulated here throughout my first year, which on the surface level seems great. It seems that now we're in the final term of the year though, with stressful exams looming over our heads, people's true colours have started to emerge. I find myself in a difficult position where the behaviours of my friends have, at times, caused me to feel resentful toward them. I simultaneously feel really bad for feeling this way, and think myself a bit of an AH for being this way.
Recently, I noticed more and more that being friends with these people, for me, felt like an uphill battle that I was losing. It wasn't everyone in the group, but I would start getting invited to things directly less and less, people would go places without me, and I just felt really left out. I did try to kindly bring this up to a couple of them, and received promising-sounding apologies, but I didn't receive the changed behaviour one would hope for with a genuine apology. I would use forms of communication I learned in therapy, "non-violent" communication: you state what you see, without assigning blame, explain how it makes you feel, break that down into a need that hasn't been met, and suggest an alternative action that can be made to make sure that need is met in the future. With my friends, I feel like they've been hearing me, but haven't listened. This really hurts, as they know I have little to no support at home, so they're the only platonic support network I have, and half the time they won't even pick the phone up to talk to me.
Recently, though, it's gotten petty, and has involved someone else- and this had left a really bad taste in my mouth.
I know it isn't my battle to fight in terms of the way people are speaking about my friend, but it has bothered me, because I can't deal with childish gossip like this, especially when the person being spoken of hasn't really done anything that wrong. My friend, 'A', started seeing someone a couple of months ago, and ever since that relationship began, I noticed that my friends increasingly began to complain that they weren't there, and that they would instead spend time with their partner. If it wasn't that, it would be complaining about how much 'A' texted their partner, and not any of them. Sure, it makes 'A' seem ignorant, but they aren't being entirely fair with their criticism there. First of all, isn't it normal to want to text a romantic partner more than friends? Everyone communicates in a different way, but I would hope the person you're being the most emotionally intimate with would be spoken to more than a group of friends, surely. It just seems like common sense to me. Even so, its not like 'A' is ignorant. We're all adults doing 'grown-up' degrees. 'A' turns their phone off during work, so that they can get on with it, also perfectly reasonable behaviour. Even with this, they will still usually get back to a person within the hour the message was sent, so they're a very dependable friend, as well.
The main issue that our group of friends have had was with 'A' being a bit tone-deaf to the feelings of others, and even this wasn't that bad. One friend was complaining about a grade they got, and all 'A' said was, 'if you went to lectures and studied more, you would have been fine'. I get where they were coming from being upset by this, but they also made clear it hadn't really gone any further than this, and it's ironic to me that they complain that this friend can't understand how they hurt others, when they have been doing the exact same, if not worse right back.
This all sort of blew up in my face in terms of how I was feeling about it when 'A' invited me on a night out, and introduced me to some of their own friends outside of our shared group. They knew I had been having a rough time, and wanted to have a good night with me, making sure I was keeping my head above water and all. On the walk back though, I started thinking about some of the things that the others had been saying about 'A', and I felt bad, it felt wrong to just sit on all of that resentment(?) towards my friend, when they had only done one thing particularly wrong. I told them what the others had been saying about them, and 'A' wasn't surprised or anything, it just opened up a dialogue with them about the state of their friendships with everyone.
The jist of what they said about the others went something like this "To be honest, I'm getting bored of them, they're good people, but they never leave their rooms, never communicate, they kind of just stay holed up and watch series together, which isn't my thing. As well as that, I had an idea that they all disliked me in some way, and it doesn't really bother me to find out the truth about them either. Something that does, though, and I noticed this with you as well, is that our friends will almost take advantage of us. They'll come round for the promise of free drinks, free spaces to host parties and stuff like that, when they know we're the poorest two out of the nine of us. I mean (friend's name) still owes me money from laundry, and the same friend took two weeks to pay you back for a favour, when you needed it. I also don't like how some of the girls go on and on about being middle class, it feels a bit like a slap to the face, I'm sure you can also relate on that one."
'A' was right, it had been something that I didn't realise was bothering me, I always lamented the fact that I couldn't have the same interests as them, such as ice-skating, or dancing lessons, or theatre, because of the fact that I didn't have the same opportunities, financially, to have access to those kinds of things growing up. That's not their fault at all, but the fact that the same friends won't indulge in stuff that I do find fun, something simple, like a video games night, or a craft night, is a bit more conceited on their part, I think. Sometimes, it almost feels as if they're better than me? They have been encouraging for me to take part in the same stuff they like now that "I have the means to" (I don't), but it still feels a little patronising, like they were encouraging a toddler or a young child to play nicely.
Their behaviour toward both me and 'A' was troubling, to say the least, they would minimise problems, with the whole 'sorry to hear that, it'll get better', but make a big deal out of others' problems, it was that night that I found out 'A''s father was still sick, and I felt awful for not really asking before. They would sometimes make fun of our accents, which is more of a classist thing, we're mostly from the same country. Hell, they even made fun of 'A' for their last relationship going badly, calling them a bad partner for being uncommunicative, it cannot be any wonder that 'A' would throw themselves into this new one.
I called them out the next day when they began to talk negatively about 'A' while they weren't there, and just said that their assumptions about our friend weren't fair, and it wasn't fair to talk about them while they weren't here. I got told to calm down, and that the whole time they had been joking. It didn't seem much like a joke?
I do like these people, a lot, but I'm at a bit of a crossroads here, there are things about them that do make me a bit upset, but these same people have literally, on occasion, held my hand in the hospital before. I do appreciate these people, but I wish that they were more receptive to the things I, and other's say. It's been a shame to see 'A' pull away like this, and I'm not sure what I can realistically do to help the situation at this point, since gossip will only breed more. I'm just a bit exhausted with some of these people.

Isa akong batang laking mahirap. All the kinds of bullying naranasan kona and kahit I am on my adult stage na bakat na bakat padin sa ala ala ko kung ano ang mga napagdaanan ko during my years of schooling.
During my elementary days way back mga 2004-2010, baon ko 2 pesos a day pero hindi pa araw araw may baon. Minsan nag aabot sila mama at papa ng 5 pesos ng monday and that's it for the whole week. I am too innocent in those time kasi Im proud to say na never ako nag cocomplain to my parents regarding that,siguro dahil alam kong wala din naman magbabago if I ask them kasi I know na walang wala din naman talaga sila. Minsan yung mga kaklasmayt ko pa noon tinatawanan ako pag tinutulog ko lang ng recess time namin kahit yung tiyan ko tumutunog sa gutom, while them enjoying their meals and have money on their hands to show off. They don't wanna be friend with me either kasi di ako nakakasabay sa kung anong meron sila kaya ako yung typical na batang PAPASOK sa skul ,UUPO,TAHIMIK at magsasalita lang pag kinakausap. Ang tanging alam ko lang non is disiplinado ako ng mga magulang ko kaya naman never ako nanlimos ng kahit ano or nainvolve sa gulo or na guidance sa skul, if my conflict man non sakin at sa klasmayt ko, umiiwas nalang ako at mananahimik kasi takot akong magkamali eventhough sinasabihan na nila ako "DUWAG" "LAMPA" etc.... One time may pinapa project si teacher sakin that requires money to buy it. Sinabi ko din naman kila mama pero they can't provide so pagpasok ko ng umaga sa skul, sobrang kabado ako kasi lahat sila may maipapasang project and ako lang wala. Then when my name called by our teacher sinabi ko yung totoo but the teacher just say "Baka gusto ako pa magprovide para sayo" sabay tawa. Until then naging hobby na nya akong pagtawanan infront of his co teachers at sa mga students at ako lagi inuutusan taga bunot ng puting buhok nya.🤣 well nakakatawa nalang sya sakin now pag naaalala ko
Fast forward... 2011 Highschool days... I enter highschool like elem na walang wala din. All my things are old, from bag to notebooks, yung lapis ko parang nasa 3 inches nalang ang haba kasi di ko napapalitan. Even my slippers have butas na which is naging reason ng bullying din. Yung ibang klasmayts ko laging kinukwestyon bakit daw ganun di ako mabilhan ng mga magulang ko pero di ko sila sinasagot. Just like elem days, ako yung tipo ng stujanteng tahimik lang sa upuan, kaya ang tingin ng guro namin sakin "MABAIT" pero may mga guro padin na hindi talaga ako nagugustuhan dahil sa bagay na wala ako na meron madalas mga klasmayts ko. Malayo ang skul namin sa mga bahay namin kaya nagbabaon kami ng pang lunch namin. Madalas baon ko araw araw is itlog,pancit canton na isang piraso tapos ginagawa kong pang recess at lunch na yun. Even that thing I was questioned lagi by my klasmayts but I don't answer them. I was so lonely nun kasi wala naman gustong makipagkaibigan sakin, even if may groupings, I was left alone and doing my activity alone. If you guys are wondering how's my marks in school? I was a regular student and never ako na fail sa subject ko kasi yun din habilin ng magulang ko sakin. I was so obedient to my parents even those times na pinag aabsent nila ako para magtrabaho sa bukid at para may baon ako sa school.Then the next day, I will be punished in school for being absent without telling them my reasons. I know how hard my life is kaya nangangako ako sa sarili ko na I have to finish my studies kahit anong mangyari. There are some teachers who love humiliating me in front of many students for the things I have, such meron daw ako shoes na old pero walang socks, butas ang pantalon, and ngilaw na ngilaw ang puting uniporme signs of it being old enough. One thing I am struggling about is yung yellow pad paper, yun kasi gamit namin ng highschool and most of them have it tapos ako pag humihingi ako ayaw din naman ako bigyan, kaya ang ending I'm using notebooks as alternative for it. My teacher would question it again pero same thing, my silence is my response. In those years, teachers are allowed to beat students as sign of disiplina and I was beaten as a punishments for not providing projects and unattended classes dahil sa need ko kumita ng pera para may pambaon. Pag binabalikan ko siya, awang awa ako sa sarili ko. And those people who treated me that bad, I still remember them but I forgave them. Masakit lang pag naaalala ko😭 I just can't imagine na nalagpasan ko siya na ako lang magisa at walang nasandalan even my parents. All those bullying I have received from my society, inako ko lang magisa yun at none from my siblings and parents knows about it.
Fast forward...2015- 2019 College... This one is the most legit na sobrang hirap. Pero bago pa mag umpisa ang semester nun I confront my self na kahit anong mangyari " I have to be a regular students,walang bibitiw at wag na wag babagsak sa kahit anong subjects
1st -2nd year college ko, I tried everything I can, to provide for my own tuition fees and allowances. Yes nagbibigay sila mama at papa pero hindi kasya, minsan 150- 200 lang kaya nila iabot for a week allowance, ang bording house ko laging delayed ang bayad, and my tuition is always on hold kaya laging suki ako ng special exam. Pinasok ko mag work as taga dilig ng halaman and care taker ng isang bar and grill for the night and study in the morning. I have no choice but to do it cause ayokong mag stop sa pagaaral. Kaya naman pag sumasahod ako sa part time ko, binibili ko ng mga sapatos sa shoppee and then I resell it on facebook market online around the city. After my class ng afternoon dun ko sila minimeet up sa city and there I earned money. Tho, of all the efforts and hardships na ginagawa ko still my studies is my top priority. I was so payat sa sobrang pagod, puyat at stress.lagi pa akong nag nose bleeding and I was so worried for my health pero tuloy ang laban. Again, none from my siblings and parents knows about it. I kept it all alone and di din naman sila nag tatanong kasi they thought I am doing fine dahil wala din naman silang narerecieved na reklamo sakin. BULLYING? ofcourse di padin ako nakaligtas jan, I was called "EWW ANG ITIM, MUKHANG MATANDA kasi di nakakapag ahit ng balbas at nakapagpagupit" minsan sasabihin pa nila "Huy kumain ka naman para ka nang kalansay" without knowing my whole story. One time I cried inside the confort room kasi I couldn't help myself na mainggit sa mga classmates ko nun na after class they will be having a talk about san sila mag lulunch if sa Jollibee ba, mcdo or sangyup. Samantalang ako, after class I was so busy meeting people with their orders. Minsan nadadaanan ko pa sila sa fast food having a good time while ako may bitbit na malaking basket puno ng sapatos na idedeliver.🙂 If my mandatory na event sa skul na need attendan, I used to ask people I don't know if may pwede ba akong mahihiraman ng susuotin tapos sasabihin nila try nila hanapan ako pero they then laugh at me afterwards. I feel so ashamed of doing it but I have to. So ayun na nga iniignore ko lang yung mga moment na tinatawanan ako sa looks ko, sa mga bagay na wala ako na meron sila. Basta focused ako sa acads ko nun at sa pagkita ng pera.
During my 3rd yr college. Yung part time kong work nagsara so I was forced to stop working with them na. And so yung pagbebenta ko ng sapatos nalang ginagawa ko. I was so lost that time kasi diko alam ako gagawin ko. Malaking tulong yun sakin lalo na 2yrs nalang kailangan kong tapusin sa pagaaral at mas malaki ang expenses ko na.Isang araw papasok ako ng gate sa skul and there are posters around our campus about scholarships and yung minimum qualified average. I have know idea if abot ba ng average ko dun sa offer ng scholars. so I run towards our registrar to request for a certificate of my grades. My world just stop for a while and I'm in tears kasi naabot nga. 86.04 yung average ko and the asking is 85.0.lang. moving forward, I got the scholarship and it helps me with my tuition fees. Kaya ang pinoproblema ko nalang non is bording house ko. Until meron na namang ibang offered na scholarships sa city so kahit sobrang haba ng pila,tiniis ko kasi I know it will save me. Luckily God is so good to me kaya I got them. That's why sa huling taon na pagaaral bago grumaduate, everything goes well and smooth because of those 3 scholarships. I Gave up selling shoes and focus sa exams nalang until I manage to graduate.....
July 2019.... FINALLY GRADUATED AND A CERTIFIED DEGREE HOLDER OF PSYCHOLOGY....
2024 update about me? I am now in a good path, I took a career that is relevant to my degree and still want exploring more things...

New to homeschooling- My son behind in math and I am looking for a good program to help him.. He is a rising 8th grader but I plan to go back possibly to 4th grade and start filling in gaps from there over the summer. He does have a slight learning disability. I am wondering if beast academy is best for advanced students? I feel like khan academy’s video lessons are not going to be able to keep his attention.

Ms Emily- Miss Emily when she was younger was an extremely rebellious student, constantly breaking rules, the only reason she became a teacher was to make her family think she actually did something good for once. She is never able to actually focus on the main subject, and what once was a history lesson can turn straight to a story about something she did. She also Suffers from ADHD. HC Voice: Vaggie (HH)
Ms Grace- She only allows the bad teachers to work here due to a deal she had to make awhile back that has to do with her mark + Her obvious correlation with Alice, As a result, she pretends to be oblivious to the killings, but won’t hesitate to protect a student if things go too far. She also has anger issues, and because of this she’s easily one of the more scary adults of the building. Students constantly avoid her, but there are a few students whom she is (was) fond of (Claire, Engel, Bubble, Lana, and Abbie). HC Voice: Carmilla Carmine (HH)
Mr Demi- He. unlike the other teachers, is very aware of the murders around school, and secretly warns lower scoring students to be careful of their grade (he never brings up killing, he just says it won’t end well). He suffers from General Dystonia (aka a neurological movement disorder that causes involuntary muscle spasms and contraction) though it isn’t really severe. Students also tend to sympathize with him, and the ones who have witnessed a murder and weren’t caught especially do, he is a favorite due to the fact he is a very easy going and calm (most of the time) teacher. HC Voice: Pure Vanilla Cookie (CRK)
Ms Sasha- She is a happy go lucky teacher, and obviously loves children, despite her constant happiness and apparent energy, she actually suffers from Insomnia, and is unfortunately constantly tired, she just pretends to keep those around her happy, as she wasn’t able to do that when she was younger. 2024.05.20 04:25 MinimumHawk2484 DIFFICULT and IMPORTANT decision: go to my home country and meet grandparents and everyone for the first time in 5 years, or stay home and take a summer course for advanced math to prepare for future.
Im a freshmen in Algebra 1 currently, summer is coming shortly and I need to make a important decision. It has been 5 years since I saw my grandparents and my cousins in my home country, and I do miss them. But I also want to advance in math; I want to take geometry over the summer so I can take honors ALG 2 next year.
If I dont go to my country this summer I wont be able to meet my grandparents for another 4 years due to visa issues, and if I do go, Im going to miss out in advancing in math. My family in my country hasnt seen me, since I was in 2nd grade, im completely different from that now. Along with this, my dad booked a 3 day dubai trip just for me and my family and I wouldnt even go.
Ive always been picked on for being in regular math, it made me feel dumb, and it hurt me. I have many 8th grader friends that are taking geomatry or algerbra 1 currently and it hurts to hear, "Imagine being dumber than [8th grader]". I also feel sad when people are talking about their harder math course and start complimenting me for how much free time I probably have due to my easier courses. Its not all just other either, I want to self improve and better my chances for a good college.
This might be the worst or the best decision I make in life. This is extremely major and I really want to take the summer course. But the health of my grandparents isnt very good, and its possible to worry that they might live the next 4 years.
This is extremely important to me, please tell me what you think.

I'm 27 in NYC (idk if that matters) and I'd like to get diagnosed but I don't know where to start or even what I could potentially be wrong with me, but I know I have -something- likely autism
Context: In kindergarten I was put into special ed, my mother HATED special ed (she thought it was for "stupid" people, so she kept moving me from school to school whenever they'd try to move me to special ed, I did horribly in school cause of whatever was wrong with me, I know i went nonverbal for many months, my mother began homeschooling me in 2nd grade (and by that I mean i just sorta dropped out of school) and now I am a very low functioning adult, my mother refuses to tell me what they said I had as a kid, so idk, I assume autism or adhd? but that's just a guess.
But I'm concerned, can they even diagnose autism or adhd in an adult? I find it Sisyphean to do even the most basic of tasks, i disassociate often and uncontrollably. I can't tell what may be due to mental illness or from not gaining a work ethic or proper socialization from school like a normal person.
I know a label won't fix me but I'd really appreciate being able to potentially gain access to resources to help. Thanks for any advice

Someone asked me what I am going to do when I am comfortable with my Spanish level and am looking for a new challenge. I said that I'd like to continue revisiting things that I quit in the past. My big regret in life is that I tend to give up on things too easily. Learning Spanish will satisfy one regret. Next, I was planning on learning to play guitar (quit after taking a bunch of lessons in 7th grade) and actually understand high school math. My claim to fame is that I never did one homework assignment in high school, which obviously wasn't good for my mastery of mathematics.
I was thinking about my goals today and realized that I could learn those things (math and guitar) in Spanish. I then thought that perhaps I could start right away if I could find online math classes. Sure enough, Khan Academy has Spanish versions of their math classes.
I just logged in, changed my language in the settings, and signed up for their algebra class. I figured I'd start with a class that should be easier.

Let's just get to the gist to it. There's this boy, who we're going to call glasses. We both have fourth period math together with each other and sit right beside each other. We sit in groups of four in the class, and our table is centered towards the back of the room. Every day I had to help him with his work because he has trouble with understanding the lesson we're in. It's not like I'm a super smart student, but at least I understood the material. It wasn't a big deal for me. His grades overall for math and science are terrible. It's not a secret, the teacher has even made jokes before in the class about his grade. Everyone else at our table was pretty much the same way, so I felt bad that he had to sit with all of us.
I'm not sure how we got on the topic, but at one point, I was basically doing his work for him because he said he didn't understand anything, and in all honesty, I don't think he even was trying to do it. He had to have had some knowledge about what he was doing though, because when he finally did his own work, he would get every answer wrong. That didn't stop him from making dumbass remarks, using his phone to look up the answers to the questions, and watching tiktoks on his phone. The only reason I would have been helping him out, is because it makes the class more enjoyable. If you're just sitting there by yourself, the class can be really boring. He has this habit where he would just say the most randomness statements. For example, once we were in the middle of doing an assigned online lesson, he just randomly turns to me, and tells me I'm gay. He has no filter on his mouth. I don't pay him any attention, as I have never felt attraction to a guy.
Not saying he's ugly or anything, he's pretty average looking. I've seen worse looking people. He's got this nice taper haircut, and looks good when he keeps it freshly trimmed, he wears those clear glasses, and has a pretty nice big nose. Not in a bad way, but a good size, and shape. I don't think I've ever seen him without a black or grey hoodie. I'm pretty sure he has an addiction. He has a pretty average body too, a little skinny, but it suits him. It's not like it's bad or anything. I don't judge anyone on their looks. We're both about the same height, with him being about an inch taller, maybe? His personality is probably his most unique..? Interesting? attribute. He's not one to hold back from sharing his thoughts. Sometimes I have to put up with him making fun of me and my personality. Sometimes in a playful way, but I have a few traits that can be picked on. One thing that is probably his biggest flaw is his over confidence, and the fact that he thinks he's the best at everything.
He's constantly bragging about things. He's the kind of person that makes you want to punch him. Not the worst thing in the world, but not the best. When we first started having conversations, it was pretty casual and chill, but then it escalated into him getting to the point of being aggravating. He would say the stupidest stuff. He would make fun of the way I looked, my clothes, how tall I am, and just the way I spoke. I'm not a super social person, so it's not that hard to make me uncomfortable. But still, when he wasn't annoying me to the point of begging the teacher to move my seat, I could have some decent conversations with him. He wasn't all that bad. He just didn't have the filter between his brain and his mouth. That's something I respect about him. It's a good trait to have. He's the type of person that will always be honest, and won't sugar coat his words. Even if it might be considered offensive. We'd have a lot of occurrences when he would say something funny. I can't even count how many times he made me smile, and even laugh. I was never embarrassed or ashamed about laughing. Not once.
I can tell he likes the way I laugh. Whenever he gets me to laugh, he'll be staring at me with this big grin on his face. He doesn't hide the fact that he wants to stare at me. When he says something funny, and he gets my attention, he'll give me a smile. It's not a forced one, it's natural, and I can tell that he genuinely means it. Sometimes I'd feel him looking at me and I'd catch him staring. It was usually a quick glance, and he'd turn his head away. But I could see him looking. At first I was confused, but I eventually got used to it. I'm not going to lie, it does make me nervous. I don't like being stared at. It makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable. But I never told him that. He was probably just trying to get my attention.
He's got a very strong sense of humor, and a lot of the things he would say, even the most serious and inappropriate things, are actually really funny. The way he speaks, and how he carries himself, I can tell he has a lot of self confidence, and a big ego. He's not afraid to show it either. It's almost like a form of self expression. It's hard to explain. The way he expresses his personality, it's something you have to see. The funny thing is, he's not even a good student. I have no idea why he was placed in a class that was obviously above his grade level. The only reason he's probably passing is because the teacher lets him goof off. The way he talks and acts, I'm pretty sure the teacher knows that he's a big distraction to the class, and doesn't want to have to deal with him. So she gives him the benefit of the doubt. I have no idea why he even cares so much about his grades. He always talks about how he doesn't care, and that his grades don't matter. The thing is, his behavior shows the opposite. Every day he'll come into class, and sit there waiting for the teacher to finish instruction, and when we began to work, he asks me if I can help him. Sometimes he'll just copy my answers. I've never said no, and have always helped him out. I've tried giving him hints and suggestions about the material, but he just doesn't listen.
It's not like it matters to me anyway. If I'm not helping him, he'll ask another student. He's a real pain in the ass, but I don't blame him. If I were in his situation, I'd be the same way. He's not the best student, and probably one of the dumbest kids in the school. The funny thing is, is that he acts like he's so much smarter than me. Like he's better than everyone else. But he's not. He's just a stupid, annoying kid who's not very smart. But he tries. And that's what's important. So once again, we're sitting at our table, doing an assigned lesson, and everyone else is talking to the table mates or doing their own thing. I'm pretty sure the teacher was helping out other students who was stuck on a question. We were sitting right next to each other. I was doing my work, while he was on his phone and had barely even began the assignment. That's when I felt a hand rubbing up and down my thigh. I was wearing some heavy baggy jeans, and could feel his hand moving up and down. I looked and stared at him while removing his hand. He looked at me with this knowing grin, and turned his attention back to his phone. I couldn't even concentrate at that exact moment. He was just acting like nothing had happened. I could feel my heart beating fast and my face was hot. I don't know why, but it was.
A few more minutes went by and the hand returned to my thigh. I tried shaking it off, but he wasn't having it. He wasn't letting go. So I gave up and left his hand there. I couldn't even finish the problem I was on, I just sat there letting his hand rub up and down my thigh. I looked over at him, and he was just staring at me with a grin on his face. His hand was just gently rubbing, up and down, up and down. Then he stopped, and he slowly removed his hand. He turned back to his phone. I don't know what I was thinking, but I reached my hand over to his thigh. I didn't look at him, and just placed my hand on his thigh. It was a pretty firm squeeze, and he flinched slightly. It was almost as if his entire body stiffened. I practically froze up since I forgot to do the whole rubbing motion. It was probably the most awkward moment of my life. It wasn't the way I wanted to react, but my body did what it had to do. I started slowly, but firmly massaging his thigh, and could feel him starting to relax. His eyes were glued to his phone, and he wasn't paying attention to the hand that was rubbing up and down.
Eventually, I removed my hand as the end of class was nearing. He and a few other students started standing up and gathering their things. I remained in my seat, as I felt a slight stiffness in my pants. My heart was racing, and I could feel my hands starting to get sweaty. I wasn't expecting anything like this to happen. It was awkward, but I had this.. lustful feeling in my stomach. As I sat there, he went on the other side of me and slyly pressed his crotch up against my shoulder. I could feel heat radiating from his body. It was obvious why it was so warm, and I knew what was happening. It was a weird sensation. It's hard to describe. I could feel the heat from his pants on my shoulder. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it was enough to get me really flustered. I was starting to feel a little anxious. I'm not sure how we got on the topic, but at one point, I was basically doing his work for him because he said he didn't understand anything, and in all honesty, I don't think he even was trying to do it. He had to have had some knowledge about what he was doing though, because when he finally did his own work, he would get every answer wrong. That didn't stop him from making dumbass remarks, using his phone to look up the answers to the questions, and watching tiktoks on his phone. The only reason I would have been helping him out, is because it makes the class more enjoyable. If you're just sitting there by yourself, the class can be really boring. He has this habit where he would just say the most randomness statements. For example, once we were in the middle of doing an assigned online lesson, he just randomly turns to me, and tells me I'm gay. He has no filter on his mouth. I don't pay him any attention, as I have never felt attraction to a guy.
Not saying he's ugly or anything, he's pretty average looking. I've seen worse looking people. He's got this nice taper haircut, and looks good when he keeps it freshly trimmed, he wears those clear glasses, and has a pretty nice big nose. Not in a bad way, but a good size, and shape. I don't think I've ever seen him without a black or grey hoodie. I'm pretty sure he has an addiction. He has a pretty average body too, a little skinny, but it suits him. It's not like it's bad or anything. I don't judge anyone on their looks. We're both about the same height, with him being about an inch taller, maybe? His personality is probably his most unique..? Interesting? attribute. He's not one to hold back from sharing his thoughts. Sometimes I have to put up with him making fun of me and my personality. Sometimes in a playful way, but I have a few traits that can be picked on. One thing that is probably his biggest flaw is his over confidence, and the fact that he thinks he's the best at everything.
He's constantly bragging about things. He's the kind of person that makes you want to punch him. Not the worst thing in the world, but not the best. When we first started having conversations, it was pretty casual and chill, but then it escalated into him getting to the point of being aggravating. He would say the stupidest stuff. He would make fun of the way I looked, my clothes, how tall I am, and just the way I spoke. I'm not a super social person, so it's not that hard to make me uncomfortable. But still, when he wasn't annoying me to the point of begging the teacher to move my seat, I could have some decent conversations with him. He wasn't all that bad. He just didn't have the filter between his brain and his mouth. That's something I respect about him. It's a good trait to have. He's the type of person that will always be honest, and won't sugar coat his words. Even if it might be considered offensive. We'd have a lot of occurrences when he would say something funny. I can't even count how many times he made me smile, and even laugh. I was never embarrassed or ashamed about laughing. Not once.
I can tell he likes the way I laugh. Whenever he gets me to laugh, he'll be staring at me with this big grin on his face. He doesn't hide the fact that he wants to stare at me. When he says something funny, and he gets my attention, he'll give me a smile. It's not a forced one, it's natural, and I can tell that he genuinely means it. Sometimes I'd feel him looking at me and I'd catch him staring. It was usually a quick glance, and he'd turn his head away. But I could see him looking. At first I was confused, but I eventually got used to it. I'm not going to lie, it does make me nervous. I don't like being stared at. It makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable. But I never told him that. He was probably just trying to get my attention.
He's got a very strong sense of humor, and a lot of the things he would say, even the most serious and inappropriate things, are actually really funny. The way he speaks, and how he carries himself, I can tell he has a lot of self confidence, and a big ego. He's not afraid to show it either. It's almost like a form of self expression. It's hard to explain. The way he expresses his personality, it's something you have to see. The funny thing is, he's not even a good student. I have no idea why he was placed in a class that was obviously above his grade level. The only reason he's probably passing is because the teacher lets him goof off. The way he talks and acts, I'm pretty sure the teacher knows that he's a big distraction to the class, and doesn't want to have to deal with him. So she gives him the benefit of the doubt. I have no idea why he even cares so much about his grades. He always talks about how he doesn't care, and that his grades don't matter. The thing is, his behavior shows the opposite. Every day he'll come into class, and sit there waiting for the teacher to finish instruction, and when we began to work, he asks me if I can help him. Sometimes he'll just copy my answers. I've never said no, and have always helped him out. I've tried giving him hints and suggestions about the material, but he just doesn't listen.
It's not like it matters to me anyway. If I'm not helping him, he'll ask another student. He's a real pain in the ass, but I don't blame him. If I were in his situation, I'd be the same way. He's not the best student, and probably one of the dumbest kids in the school. The funny thing is, is that he acts like he's so much smarter than me. Like he's better than everyone else. But he's not. He's just a stupid, annoying kid who's not very smart. But he tries. And that's what's important. So once again, we're sitting at our table, doing an assigned lesson, and everyone else is talking to the table mates or doing their own thing. I'm pretty sure the teacher was helping out other students who was stuck on a question. We were sitting right next to each other. I was doing my work, while he was on his phone and had barely even began the assignment. That's when I felt a hand rubbing up and down my thigh. I was wearing some heavy baggy jeans, and could feel his hand moving up and down. I looked and stared at him while removing his hand. He looked at me with this knowing grin, and turned his attention back to his phone. I couldn't even concentrate at that exact moment. He was just acting like nothing had happened. I could feel my heart beating fast and my face was hot. I don't know why, but it was.
A few more minutes went by and the hand returned to my thigh. I tried shaking it off, but he wasn't having it. He wasn't letting go. So I gave up and left his hand there. I couldn't even finish the problem I was on, I just sat there letting his hand rub up and down my thigh. I looked over at him, and he was just staring at me with a grin on his face. His hand was just gently rubbing, up and down, up and down. Then he stopped, and he slowly removed his hand. He turned back to his phone. I don't know what I was thinking, but I reached my hand over to his thigh. I didn't look at him, and just placed my hand on his thigh. It was a pretty firm squeeze, and he flinched slightly. It was almost as if his entire body stiffened. I practically froze up since I forgot to do the whole rubbing motion. It was probably the most awkward moment of my life. It wasn't the way I wanted to react, but my body did what it had to do. I started slowly, but firmly massaging his thigh, and could feel him starting to relax. His eyes were glued to his phone, and he wasn't paying attention to the hand that was rubbing up and down.
Eventually, I removed my hand as the end of class was nearing. He and a few other students started standing up and gathering their things. I remained in my seat, as I felt a slight stiffness in my pants. My heart was racing, and I could feel my hands starting to get sweaty. I wasn't expecting anything like this to happen. It was awkward, but I had this.. lustful feeling in my stomach. As I sat there, he went on the other side of me and slyly pressed his crotch up against my shoulder. I could feel heat radiating from his body. It was obvious why it was so warm, and I knew what was happening. It was a weird sensation. It's hard to describe. I could feel the heat from his pants on my shoulder. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it was enough to get me really flustered. I was starting to feel a little anxious. I'm 27 in NYC (idk if that matters) and I'd like to get diagnosed but I don't know where to start or even what I could potentially be wrong with me, but I know I have -something-
Context: In kindergarten I was put into special ed, my mother HATED special ed (she thought it was for "stupid" people, so she kept moving me from school to school whenever they'd try to move me to special ed, I did horribly in school cause of whatever was wrong with me, I know i went nonverbal for many months, my mother began homeschooling me in 2nd grade (and by that I mean i just sorta dropped out of school) and now I am a very low functioning adult, my mother refuses to tell me what they said I had as a kid, so idk, I assume autism or adhd? but that's just a guess.
But I'm concerned, can they even diagnose autism or adhd in an adult? I find it Sisyphean to do even the most basic of tasks, i disassociate often and uncontrollably. I can't tell what may be due to mental illness or from not gaining a work ethic or proper socialization from school like a normal person.
I know a label won't fix me but I'd really appreciate being able to potentially gain access to resources to help. Thanks for any advice

to start, i’m 16. and before you blame my hormones or just “growing up”, it isn’t. i’ve been on so many medications and trial and error tells me that the issue is within me somewhere. i’m a first born american from a long lineage of powerful people who have drive and verve in every aspect of life, i’ve seemed to miss that but i guess. ever since kindergarten i’ve been severely bullied for the way i presented myself; physical and social. i could never seem to get it right. once i began 2nd grade that was the first time i was ever conscious of my body and how much space my feelings took up and began bottling everything up. now as a sophomore in high school i’ve lost all drive and that bottle is about to shatter. i’m a druggie who can’t stop smoking weed every single night to cope with the fact that my pillows are wet with tears. i’m a burn out who went from a 3.8 to a 2.2. i’m a anorexic who lies to mom every night telling her i’m getting better. i’m a loser with no friends. i’m a fucking pariah who can’t keep a fucking talking stage going for more than a week. i could keep going but you get it i genuinely don’t know what i’m feeling, i feel like a fraud calling myself “suicidal” because i know i’ll never actually commit to it but i’m just wishing and praying that someday i’ll close my eyes and won’t wake up. i’m so fucking pathetic that sometimes i cross a high traffic road with my eyes closed or stand in front of the train tracks and hop off last minute. i just feel so helpless. every night i look at the lidocaine in my moms bathroom and wonder what would happen and how awful my mother would feel. the only reason i’m still breathing is for my mother. she the only light that keeps me going but i feel like soon that won’t be enough.

I have been suicidal since I was in the 2nd grade but kept it a secret from my family until roughly last November when it was forced out of me. My mom had threatened to take my meds away because she said they ‘weren’t working’ and this caused me to tell her that I was suicidal without them. I remember her texting me ‘now I know I can’t trust you’. My own mother saying she can’t trust me while I was at my lowest point because of the stress of this school year.
She ended up dragging me downstairs with my siblings for a long talk on how we don’t tell her things. She told us that I kept secrets from her because I didn’t think she was ‘strong enough’ to take it. That’s not the case at all. I kept it a secret because I don’t like people worrying about me period.
After that long talk, she started to ignore me for three weeks straight. I would say good morning and try to strike up a conversation and she would just not say anything to me.
one day, I forgot to take my meds once and was scared to go in her room to get them because she was basically a ticking time bomb ready to blow. The next day while I was getting dressed for school, she opened my door without knocking and it scared the life out of me.
I awkwardly laughed and was like ‘woah you scared me’ but she didn’t say anything. She looked at me with a glare and gave me my meds. “If they’re so important to you, I’d think you wouldn’t forget them. Fine. Whatever I guess.”
After that, she slammed the door and went back downstairs. Of course I was scared for two reasons now. The fact that she woke up on the wrong side of the bed + she was mad at me wasn’t good. On the way out the car, she got mad at me for not bringing a mask with me to school and made me go back inside. I came out with only one and both my parents yelled at me for it, basically calling me dumb.
I had finally began to break down quickly in tears but my mom wasn’t having it. She snapped at me and asked why I was crying and I lied. “Oh it’s nothing. Don’t worry.” My mom immediately cuts me off and goes on a rant about why she hates how me and my siblings never tell her anything and how can she expect to help me if I wont tell her things.
That’s the thing though. I did reach out and tell her but she responded like this. I genuinely wanted to kill myself after this event happened.
I still want to kill myself to this day but it hurts me that my own mother probably wouldn’t care and would make it about her somehow.

My highest ambitions in life/out of college:
- I hope to one day have a job in a high finance position in New York City or Chicago (Investment Banking, PE, Consulting, Quants etc) - therefore I am applying to top prestigious target schools for recruitment, internships, and networking opportunities
- I hope to one day be one of the greatest musicians of all time

We are relocating to AAC from the west coast and planning to purchase a house in the next few months. Looking at SP, Arnold, Edgewater and trying to identify family friendly communities, good schools and a safe environment for our kids (2nd and 4th grade). We would like to have access to water (waterfront not required), and a welcoming and diverse community. Budget is up to 1M$, and commute to either DC or Baltimore once or twice a week. we have been reading about racism , bullying, and mental health issues at high schools. Any thoughts and recommendations on family friendly communities?
