2024.06.02 20:36 Zurp7 Solid carrier for a single heavy ebike? (Hitch mount for truck)

Was looking at dirt bike carriers with ramps, but they all seem a little cumbersome. For background, Iā€™ve got a ArielRider Kepler (75lbs) and Iā€™ve just been putting it in the bed of my truck, but itā€™s getting old fast. Any good choices out there for a single carrier?

2024.06.02 20:24 Paxlmao Illinois Class M Skills Test

Hello,
I want to get my class M endorsement in IL. Do I need a bike that is at least 150cc for the skills test or would I be fine with something lower? I have a XR150L and while 150 is in the name, itā€™s technically a 149.2 cc engine according to google. Iā€™m not sure how strict the DMV is on things like this. Thanks.

Seat isnā€™t too horrible. I think comfort on that ultimately boils down to wearing underwear that doesnā€™t have stitched seams on your sit bones. This thing handles like a long travel sportbike. Stable, planted, and unflappble mid-corner. Though Iā€™d suggest setting your sag as best you can. I have mine set to 30% of travel equally front and rear and itā€™s incredibly well balanced. This is the kind of bike Iā€™ve been dreaming of since Iā€™ve owned my old 690 SMC R. I wished that bike was less off-roady feeling and more sportbike feeling. The Ducati delivers a hot one. Perfect bike for everything except dirt. And I can make use of all 77 HP and rev it out to 10,000 RPM without reaching terrifying speeds on public roads.

2024.06.02 19:32 CTDubs0001 What to adjust to take weight off my shoulders?

Iā€™m trying to get my bike fit right and while I feel like I have my seat height at the perfect spot, I still feel like Iā€™m putting too much weight on my shoulders. Iā€™m old as dirt and get a little numbness in my shoulders as I ride distance. Whatā€™s the fix? I know I have my bars comparably highā€¦ I donā€™t want a super aggressive position. Is there on movement likely to take weight off my shoulders? Move the seat back? Bars lower? Longer stem? If it matters I have short legs for my height.
And I know the proper answer is ā€˜get a bike fitā€™. Thatā€™s not an option for me. Im really just looking to see if anyone has any general, bike fit rules of thumb about taking weight off your shoulders/arms. Thanks!

2024.06.02 16:34 TheToastrr Tinny noise coming from two stroke engine?

Tinny noise coming from two stroke engine?
I recently purchased my first dirt bike, a tc85 2022 19/16, at the start of April, it is now June. It had 55 hours when I purchased it, with a top end rebuild at 50 hours, and I have since then, put 17 hours on it since I first rode it. I ran out of fuel and tried kicking it a few times because I didnā€™t think it would run out that fast (it is jetted a bit rich, with a bit of spooge that comes out the exhaust), and then I had to wheel it home from the field. When I got back, it started up okay, but was feeling a bit off, and it seemed to sound a bit tinny, it may have been that i didnā€™t have helmet on as I was going very low speeds, but it sounded a bit different. I purchased a new spark plug to attempt to fix this, but it did not help. Now my bike sounds a bit off, and no where near as crispy as my girlfriends tc85 (2019), it never did sound as crispy but I think it may sound concerningly different, or it may be because mine is jetted rich, I am not yet sure. (At one minute in the video, I pulled the choke out, also, the engine is warm in this clip)
Apolgies for my lack of bike knowledge, as Iā€™ve only been riding for almost 2 months, only on a field, no jumps or anything but I have been going quite fast and through all the gears, any help would be very appreciated. Many thanks - Jim

2024.06.02 16:00 xBartPolandx proper chain for chain tensioner

sup guys, im doing a dirt jumper with old dartmoor streetfighter frame (vertical dropouts) and need a chain tensioner. i have 3/32ā€ chain currently with single speed kit and cranks that support that chain, but i need a chain tensioner. and i wonder would the single speed tensioner support my chain? i asked the seller and he said its for single speed bikes, obviously, but its narrow wide, and narrow wide is present in 3/32ā€ cranks (non bmx, a bit more narrow). does that mean the chain would work with my chain?

2024.06.02 15:28 Upstairs_Bathroom_70 Telltales the walking dead game spinoff game I woke up thinking it was real.

Literally just waking up and I'm struggling to remember all of it.
So: as the title suggests I just woke up having a dream of a spin off game that takes place with Walter and Eddie from 400 days as the protagonists of their own game, it had 3 chapters.
I only remember the first one so I guess I'll try and write down everything I can.
So the dream was of me playing this game on my phone (don't question how.) The graphics were a weird mix of telltales models (Eddie and Walter for example) and realistic environments.
The first chapter's title (I remember picking from a chapter select screen like the one in season two.) Had an image of the back of Walter and Eddies head as they were looking into a massive lake with mountains on the background. I think the chapter had a name but I can't remember that, I do remember the plot so I'll get on that:
The chapter in the dream started with Walter and eddie driving on a dirt bike across a dirt path in a (currently not raining) rain-forest. Eddie was making jokes to Walter that dialog options in the dream gave me the option to find funny or chastise. "About as funny as my mom kicking me out of the house." With Eddie responding non chalantly to it "So it was funny."
I forget why but at some point Walteeddie end-up with a group of new characters that were created in my dream. I can't remember how many, and i've already forgotten how most of them looked in the time it's taking me to write this: There was a black guy with side burns in a bar tender outfit. There was one that looked like dee from 400 days that the dream didn't address as dee. And I remember someone had a toddler, but I can't remember what the mother looked like.
Anyways: the group find themselves at a place called "Giant lake." There's mountains on the otherside of a pretry big lake, and because the trees have gotten way too heavy to be able to drive anymore, along with another reason I can't remember from the dream: they try to swim through the lake. Now, the lake was about the size of the frozen one from season two, when clem and co try walking to the house, but in the dream it was all water so it was a long swim.
The entire chapter revolved mostly about them trying to swim through it. Eddie is left to help the toddler swim, Walter is swimming behind the group for reasons I don't remember, and the game was now taking place with Eddie as the Controllable protagonist. At some point walkers started floating up towards the group, and they all have a 'oh shit moment' when the mother of the kid gets bit in the leg while swimming ahead.
I remember getting multiple game over scenes in the dream (even in my dreams I still suck ass at video games) so I might as well go over them now:
In one, Eddie gets grabbed and struggles againts the walker while yelling for Walter. Walter yells back trying to swim to his friend but Eddie gets bit on the throat and Walter yells out in horror.
In another, the toddler Eddie was meant to help swim across gets bit and dragged under the waters, and eddie just gives up and drowns himself out of shame.
And the last one I can remember I failed a Q smash againts a walker, which caused the unnamed black guy with side burns to come and try to help Eddie only to get killed in front of Eddie. Eddie dies too right after from the same walker.
Anyways: At some point every member of the group (including the bitten mother but excluding the toddler) make it across. Eddie sees Walter struggling to swim because a walker grabbed him on the leg, so he jumps back into the lake to help him. They both get pulled under water but manage to escape. Once they get out of the lake they beging running away with the group towards the mountains, cheering that they survived.
And that's literally all I can remember. I remember Eddie making a joke about fish bones at some point after everything in the dream but that's about all i can remember.
The reason why I'm typing this out though is because I was so convinced it was real I genuinely got pissed off it wasn't. Like, for some reason I was convinced that YouTuber ibeerzly had made a playthrough of this game, to the point where I was searching his channel for it and unsubscribed when I couldn't find it.
What do you guys think?

2024.06.02 13:54 BartlettMagic hi, (maybe) dumb question about tires here

i feel like i should know the answer to this but the more i think about it, the more it confuses me. so apologies if this is dumb.
i am a new rider, bought my first bike. it is a street legal dirt bike, and currently has knobby tires on it. the sizes are:
front: 80/100-21
rear: 20/110-18
i've looked at the guide to measurement one can easily find on the internet. i understand that the 21 & 18 are my wheel diameter sizes. i also understand that the other measurements are width/height.
i want to get more street-friendly tires for this bike, as i'm not going to be extreme offroading (dirt roads/loose gravel max). i've heard people say in the past that any tire will work as long as you get the same wheel diameter, so in my case, 21 & 18.
is this true? i've had trouble finding tires online that aren't knobby in the exact sizes listed. plenty of variations, but very little exact matches. other times i think there may be a metric/imperial conversion going on because i'll search the size but a x.xx number comes up for the width, sometimes the height will show 90 instead of 100, etc.
my brain hurts from something that should be pretty simple, so please tell me where i'm going wrong. i just want normal tires lol

2024.06.02 12:06 pandasdokungfu BB90 Creak after Token Ninja Fix?

Stumped on this one and would greatly appreciate any advice.
I've got a 2017 Trek Emonda, picked up secondhand and barely used. Heard about BB90 so replaced it with the Token Ninja BB. Tons of riding with no issues or any creaks.
Out of nowhere, it's creaking, making a knocking/ticking sound and doesn't sound very healthy overall. The frame is also creaking over any small bumps.
It's a 7 year old carbon bike so wondering if the frame might be getting fatigued from the bumpy, awful roads.
I've checked everything is torqued up to rule out the seat or chainring and cranks.
BB still spins freely and hasn't been exposed to any dirt or grime.
Not sure if it's worth getting another token ninja or chalk it up to the bike being old and retire it.
Thank you in advance!

2024.06.02 09:44 Forgottenbread_ Does anyone else feel ā€œdirtyā€ when you have cuts, scrapes and bruises?

A few days ago I took a bad fall of my electric bike(wearing my helmet, saved me from a really bad concussion/coma or maybe even death). I was going 25mph and flew over my front tire about 6-8ft and slid another 2-3ft on concrete, half way on the sidewalk, half way on the curb. Got a lot of small- medium scrapes on my right arm and hand, left knee, and two really big one on my left arm which I landed on, internal bruises(just hurts when you push on it, doesnā€™t have any surface bruising, so not sure if thatā€™s a internal bruise or not just my lack of vocab). I really hate having scrapes and bruises, makes me feel super uncomfortable, especially laying in bed, and they are pretty deep scrapes so they are STILL closing up days later, I wake up, and just feel super dirty and gross, sweaty, etc. I take a shower and it gets worse because the water brings out the itchiness of the oils and dirt, and itā€™s painful as fuck to scrub an open scrape.
TL;DR: does anyone else hate scrapes as much as i do, or feel as dirty as i do, even after a shower?

2024.06.02 09:40 themanthemyththemax how do i break it to my mom iā€™m buying a motorcycle?

for some context:
i am 19 years old and am in my second year of college. iā€™ve been floating around trying to get by mentally. i have nerve damage throughout my entire body due to sports so itā€™s hard to find something to take my mind off of how bad my condition really is.
iā€™ve been riding dirt bikes, off road vehicles, go carts, side by sides etc. since i was about five. itā€™s something i have a groove for.
my mother used to be a first responder, so shes seen a lot of things. sheā€™d come home sometimes and tell me about stories of her interactions with people, some funny, some sad.
she knows iā€™m into motocross and such and has absolutely stressed how much she hates motorcycles due to the accidents shes seen.
iā€™ve been planning to buy a motorcycle for quite a while, a ninja 500R to be exact. i wanted to do something nice for myself, just to have something nice for me. iā€™ve been super hyped about this for the past year or so and me and my other friends (who have bikes) have been hyping up riding and going on trips together. i research all the time about tips and have even signed my self up and paid for my MSF class. so im extremely invested.
however i am extremely unsure how to tell her. i thought about buying and just not telling her but theres no way id be able to hide it forever. iā€™m pretty sure if i bought it and she found out sheā€™d disown me or worseā€¦ how exactly do i go about this?

šŸ”—High-Capacity 75Ah AGM Sealed Lead Acid Battery with Easy Carry Handles

Over the past few weeks, I've been using the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery in my basement sump pump. This maintenance-free, sealed lead-acid battery pack has made my life easier and more worry-free, thanks to its 75Ah capacity and 12V voltage. With its handles making it easy to move around, I am now free from the hassle of constantly monitoring and maintaining the battery levels.
One of the most impressive features of this battery is the consistent power supply it provides, ensuring that my backup sump pump remains ready to kick in at a moment's notice. This reliable performance has given me peace of mind, especially during the recent storms that have brought about power outages in my area. The battery also charges quickly, so I'm always prepared for any situation.
However, there is one drawback I've encountered. While the battery works reliably, the instructions provided for installation are quite complicated and could have been simplified. Additionally, I did notice that the battery's capacity can sometimes be slightly less than advertised, which might require an adjustment in your expectations.
In summary, the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery offers a top-quality, reliable solution for my basement sump pump needs. With its impressive charging capabilities and consistent power supply, I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use battery pack for their sump pump system.

I recently tried the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery, and I must say, it has some impressive features. What stood out to me is the rugged design and the versatile top-mounted terminals that make it a suitable choice for various generators, including those made by Predator.
While using this battery, I found it to be quite efficient in providing constant voltage input, which is crucial for an electric start generator. It successfully powered both my generator and an ATV without any issues. The battery's compact size made it convenient to install and mount on the generator.
However, one downside I encountered was the reversed polarity terminals. It took me a bit of time to figure out the issue during installation. Additionally, some customers mentioned facing difficulty in finding replacements for this battery, as most other units do not fit the same specifications.
Overall, the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery has proven to be a reliable and functional option for powering electric start generators. But be aware of the possible reversed polarity terminals and the difficulty in finding compatible replacements.

šŸ”—Extreme Heavy-Duty 12V 22AH SLA Battery for Demanding Jump Starter Applications

Imagine a situation where you're stuck on the side of the road, and your car isn't starting. You pull out a small device, no bigger than a pencil box, and within minutes, your car roars to life. That's the magic of a portable jump starter.
The Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a versatile device that serves as a replacement for your Die Hard Portable Jump Starter. It's a maintenance-free 12V 22AH Sealed Lead Acid battery, known for its spill-proof nature and high discharge rate. This battery is designed to handle a wide range of temperatures, making it suitable for use in both high and low temperatures.
One of the most impressive things about this battery is its ability to resist shocks and vibration. It can be mounted in any position, making it a convenient option for those who are always on the move. And let's not forget the bonus of having a long service life and the ability to recover from deep discharge situations, which is particularly useful in emergency situations.
Now, let's talk about my personal experience with the Mighty Max Battery. I've used it to jump-start my car during a surprise power outage, and it worked like a charm. It's compact, which made it easy to store in my glove compartment, and it fits perfectly into the port on my Die Hard jump starter.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The product doesn't come with a wire harness or mounting accessories, which means you'll have to purchase those separately if you don't already have them. Additionally, the battery's weight might be a concern for some, but for me, it wasn't a deal-breaker.
Overall, the Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a powerful and reliable option for anyone in need of a portable jump starter. It's easy to use, long-lasting, and has a compact design that makes it a convenient option for those always on the go. Despite the minor inconvenience of not having all necessary accessories included, the Mighty Max Battery more than makes up for it with its performance and durability.

In my quest for a reliable battery, I stumbled upon the Mighty Max Battery ML9-12NB. At first glance, the size may seem smaller than expected, but don't let that hold you back. This little guy is a force to be reckoned with!
Powered by a 12V 9AH Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) rechargeable maintenance-free battery, it effortlessly outperforms its counterparts in various conditions. UL certified and ready to take on any position, it resists shocks and vibrations with ease while maintaining its long-lasting high performance.
The best part? It's spill-proof and boasts a high discharge rate, wide operating temperatures, and an extended service life. And the deep discharge recover? A true game-changer when it comes to battery efficiency.
Despite its small stature, the ML9-12NB holds its own in the big leagues, proving that good things often come in unexpected packages.

šŸ”—Schumacher DSR114 DSR ProSeries Jump Starter: High-Performance AGM Battery Pack with Easy Charging and Reverse Hook-up Protection

https://preview.redd.it/mlbcc9frz34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfd9b654ee6b47c3a5cd4f51db40b311312dff9b
I've been using the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter in my daily life for a few months now, and I must say it's been quite the reliable companion. When I needed to jumpstart my car the other day, it took me just a few minutes to get everything connected and running smoothly. The 525 cranking amps and 350 cold cranking amps really make a difference in those crucial moments.
One thing that really stood out to me was the easy-to-read digital display and ON/OFF switch. They made it easy for me to keep track of the battery life and to ensure I wasn't draining it unnecessarily. However, I did notice that the 60-inch cable length wasn't quite long enough to reach my car when it was parked in the driveway, so I had to make a few adjustments.
I particularly appreciate Schumacher's safety features like the reverse hook-up safeguard alarm, which makes sure that the clamps are connected to the battery correctly. Having this safety feature has given me peace of mind when jumpstarting my car or helping friends in need.
This jump starter is well-built and seems to be quite durable. It's a little bit heavy to carry around, but it's certainly sturdy enough to handle the job. The 2.1-amp USB port and 12V DC outlet added bonus features that I've come to appreciate during my camping trips and other outdoor activities.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter. It has proven to be an invaluable addition to my daily life, and I know I can always count on it when I need to get my car back up and running.

The ACDelco Professional AGM Voyager battery has been a game-changer in my daily life. With its maintenance-free Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology, I no longer have to worry about water spills or leaks. I've always been a fan of the XS Power D3400 12V AGM Battery. It's been my go-to power source for my car's audio system. I could definitely feel the difference in the quality once I switched to this battery. The absorption glass mat technology really works wonders!
One of the best things about this battery is its high output. With a max of 3,300 amps, it really powers my speakers. The M6 terminal hardware which comes alongside also adds to the convenience. The battery is classified for OE fit and runs on a wide range of watts, making it versatile for different audio setups.
However, the packaging of the battery wasn't as satisfactory. The battery box came damaged and there were instances where the label peeled off. As far as the terminal hardware, it seems some customers found it missing from their package.
Despite those minor issues, I'm still impressed with this battery's performance. It's durable, reliable, and has definitely elevated the audio quality of my ride. Overall, I would say it's a great power source for any serious audio setup.

I had the chance to test out the Power Sonic Battery PTX20LBS-FS in my motorcycle, and I must say, it made quite an impression. This 12-volt battery with 18 ampere hours and an impressive cold cranking amperage of 200 proved to be extremely convenient to use. The best part? It's spill-proof and completely sealed, ensuring maximum safety.
The maintenance-free aspect of this battery was a game-changer for me. With no need for acid handling during activation, I could worry less and focus on my riding adventure. Just like the product description stated, all it took was to pop it into my motorcycle and I was good to go!

The Victron Energy BAT412025081, also known as the 12V/25Ah AGM Super Cycle Batt. (M5), has been a game-changer in my daily life. I've had the opportunity to use this battery in numerous scenarios and I must say, I can't help but share my experience.
Firstly, the AGM Super Cycle technology is truly remarkable. Unlike traditional batteries, these super cycle batteries can handle occasional or frequent partial discharges without any issues. Their smaller size and reduced weight make them an attractive choice for those who are particular about the battery size.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I noticed too. While the battery is designed to prevent sulfation during deep discharge, one has to be careful with frequent deep discharges, as it could reduce the battery's life span. Also, the slightly higher voltage during recharge can strain some battery connections.
Overall, I am quite impressed with this battery's performance. It has proven to be reliable, easy to use, and quite efficient, even with the occasional drawbacks.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Schumacher Electric DSR ProPSJ-2212 12V 18Ah Jump Starter Replacement Battery. As someone who relies on jump starters frequently, I was excited to see if this one would live up to the hype.
The battery itself is a maintenance-free AGM technology, which means I no longer have to worry about adding acid or water. I found this to be a huge time-saver, especially when I was in a rush. Additionally, it was important to note that this is a replacement battery and not a complete starter pack, so I had to use my existing cables and hardware.
One standout feature of this battery is the charging speed. It quickly charges and then switches to maintain mode, protecting the battery from overcharging. This was particularly helpful when I was using it on a daily basis.
The sturdiness of the battery was also impressive. It had a nice heavy case that gave me confidence in the battery's durability. The cords were long and easy to manage, which was a nice bonus when I needed to reach the back of my vehicle.

I have been using the Victron Energy BAT412025081 12V/25Ah AGM Super Cycle Batt. (M5) for quite some time now, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. One of the main highlights I've experienced is the ability to handle repeated 100% discharge without any worries. The Super Cycle battery's new paste in the positive plates allows for slightly less sensitivity to softening.
Another aspect I appreciate is the significant reduction in sulfation during deep discharge, thanks to new additives in the electrolyte. However, I have noticed that the weight of this battery seems to be fractionally more compared to its standard Victron counterparts.
In terms of downsides, the battery's dimensions and weight are slightly larger and heavier than the standard Deep Cycle AGM batteries, which might be a concern for those with limited storage space or weight restrictions. Overall, the Victron Energy BAT412025081 has proven to be a reliable and efficient solution for my needs, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I use this 12V, 100Ah SLA battery to power my outdoor devices, and the consistent power supply it provides is quite impressive. The rechargeable feature is definitely a plus, allowing me to use the same battery multiple times without worrying about constantly having to replace it.
One of the aspects that I appreciate the most about this product is its durability. Despite being subjected to various outdoor conditions, the Mighty Max battery has been quite rugged and held up well. The spill-proof feature is a welcomed addition as well, ensuring that my device never gets damaged due to accidents.
That being said, there are a couple of minor downsides to this product. One of them is the weight; it is a bit on the heavier side, which may pose inconvenience when transporting it. Additionally, while the battery offers a decent amount of capacity, the performance under heavy load conditions can be somewhat inconsistent at times.
In summary, the Mighty Max battery, despite its minor flaws, has been a reliable and long-lasting addition to my device setup. Its portability could be improved slightly, but overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase.

However, one downside I've noticed is the battery's weight, at 8.78 pounds, which can make it a bit cumbersome to handle. Additionally, it can be challenging to locate all the necessary mounting accessories as they are not included in the package.
Overall, the Mighty Max Battery Ml15-12 has been a trusty companion for my power needs. With its various compatibility options and spill-proof design, it's a reliable choice for those in the market for a high-performance battery with a long service life.

2024.06.02 07:41 Snoo-50210 Planning for scrambler 400X

I'm planning to buy my first owned bike, a scrambler 400X, in the next 4-5 months. Right now, I'm saving up for it. In the meantime, I have borrowed Bajaj Vikrant from a friend who has two bikes.
I'm a bit concerned about keeping the bike clean, as the area where I have to park it currently has a lot of dirt. I'm worried that the dirt might damage the paint on the bike. Should I go for a ceramic coating on the bike to protect the paint, or would a bike cover be a better solution?
I'd appreciate any advice you can provide on the best way to keep my bike clean and well-maintained, given the less-than-ideal parking situation I'm dealing with right now.

2024.06.02 06:45 DanteLight8776 I have questions!

I want to get a bike, but not sure what is good for a new rider. What would y'all recommend? I grew up around Harley's, but anything affordable and can take a beating is fine. I think I can ride (I hope to least, grew up on dirt bikes assuming is close enough but plan to take the class for the license so it covers me)
Also, what would y'all recommend for helmets, and gear? I promised I'd at least have a full head helmet and a long sleeve jacket minimum.

How strong are these?
I would like to bolt one or two of these down onto my truck bed and I was just wondering if they would hold up. I ride motocross so it would constantly be getting ran over by my dirt bike.

2024.06.02 06:29 TheTightestClench Budget of $1200 for 20km/day mixed path, road, hard gravel and road works areas

Hi all
I posted yesterday regarding a cube Hyde hybrid but on reflection I think it's wiser to increase my budget a little seeing as though this will be a bike I will use to commute to work and back daily, weather permitting
My cycle to work for the most part would be cycling path along the train line however there is lots of upgrades to the stations along the line occurring meaning lots of the paths are diverted to road and/or gravel temporary paths until the stations are up and running again. Works are expected to be ongoing for at least a year
The ride is mostly flat with some hills. The commute is about 10km each way
I want something relatively comfy that can also take the hard gravel/dirt too
Any suggestions?
So far I've considered the trek dual sport, specialised sirrus x and polygon heist. I'm after a size medium so stock availability is also an important factor (Perth WA based)
Thank you in advance for any help!

2024.06.02 04:13 2deep4myowngood Where do I even start when it comes to buying a motorcycle?

USA California So I have decided I want to ride a motorcycle but that's about it. Currently my question and dilemma is that I don't have my motorcycle endorsement. I've been lightly into motorcycles for quite some time and I've ridden dirt bikes and low-powered stuff before but I don't currently own anything and I don't have access to the stuff from long ago. I'm not confident in my riding ability at this point since it's been so long as well, so I don't really like the idea of driving a far distance cuz I have no idea where I'd buy one from as of right now. Also, I don't really want to pay for classes or something like that unless I have to because I don't think I necessarily need that. Although I have heard of the mtc thing that CHP does. I'm 22 so I'd rather just go to the DMV get my endorsement with their test after practicing on my own.
So really I just need advice on how to practice because I don't have too many ideas. Should I just go out and buy a motorcycle And pay for like a tow back to my house? Or is it more worth it to pay for motorcycle classes or something Get my license first then the bike? Should I just do the MTC thing with CHP? Basically just how do I get some riding experience in?
Any general advice is wanted to, I've only ever ridden on private land and BLM land before and it's been a while so I'm not really sure how it works with getting street legal and I've only just started thinking about doing all this in the past few days.

2024.06.02 04:11 Corn_Flake_76 Lower VStrom replacement

I currently own a Suzuki VStrom 650, which is perfect except for one issue: it's too tall for me. With only 29" inseam, I find myself dropping it at stops more often than I would like. All it takes is a slightly uneven pavement or dirt/gravel and down it goes. The bike has already been lowered.
I'm looking for a bike with 600-800cc, ABS, able to do 200 miles (320 km) on a tank of gas, with mid-pegs (no cruisers), and upright riding position, and not too tall. The VStrom checks all the boxes, except for the height.
