Hi, TNT. While I was browsing through eBay, I found Neopets trading cards for sale. There are so many, and I was interested in buying some, but wouldn't that be against the rules? I don't really think it would be, but I'd rather ask than risk my account. I'm not 100% sure, but can't you redeem codes from the cards in the packs and get items? No, physical merchandise produced or officially licensed by us is just fine to buy, sell, or trade online. This includes stuff like real life plushies, action figures, TCG cards, etc. Codes are considered a legitimate part of these items. Items you cannot buy or sell online are virtual items, Neopoints, Neopets, or accounts.

Hi, TNT! I have an odd question for you.... about commissions. Now, I know taking them in exchange for anything on Neopets is against the rules, as is doing commissions with Neopets characters. However... what about real-life merchandise? I'm the sort that's willing to take trades, and I was wondering: could someone pay me in Neopets plushies? What about rare item codes, or Neocash? (the cards, not actual on-site NC items) I mean, people sell the item codes on eBay all the time, so wouldn't that be okay? As far as NC cards go, if I'm just going to buy them anyway, why not save a step? Would these be against the Terms & Conditions because they give things on the site itself? I mean, obviously, it still wouldn't be okay to do a commission OF Neopets, but in exchange for merchandise, where do you guys stand? (please remove my username) ~username removed
As you said, as long as you aren't taking commissions of Neopets intellectual property, you're welcome to trade or sell your real-world merchandise however you'd like. According to Lawyerbot: "Trading plushies, rare item codes, NC cards, etc. for real-life merchandise is fine. I once traded my brother's turtle to a friend for a Shadow Uni Plushie.

Hi, TNT! So, I had a question about gifting rare item codes, Space Faerie codes, site theme codes (like Puzzle Adventure), etc. I know it is against the rules to ask for anything like "tips" or compensation in return for gifting a code, as well as selling codes. However, is it against the rules to ask someone to return the item that they got from the code itself? Say someone receives a plushie from redeeming a code. Is it okay to ask that they return the plushie, or would it be better to say something like, "I would greatly appreciate if you return the item, but it's not required" since non-requested thank you gifts are allowed? If the receiver is kind enough to return the item from the code, we wouldn't consider it any sort of "tip" due to the nature of Rate Item Codes. That said, once you give away the code, it is up to the codebearer to decide what to do with the item. You can ask them as you phrased the example above, but code gifting is an unsupported transaction and we will likely be unable to assist if the person chooses to keep the item.

 | After doing some research into the current plot, I have come up with what I believe is going on with The Void Within. So let’s break it down into 2 pieces…The Void & Within. submitted by mjl7588 to neopets [link] [comments] First up is the void. What is the void? If you look at the description for the book Navigating the Void you will see that the void is a portal created by a warlock that allowed him to travel between worlds. I’m not sure which warlock since Neopia seems to have a few but maybe someone better educated on Neopia can chime in on that. That book was part of the prizes for the 2021 Festival of Neggs and was one of the items that came in the Void Negg. Yes the same Void Negg that TNT gave us as a code prize a few weeks ago!!! What was the redemption code you ask? Well it was THEVOIDWITHIN. So now we know the void is a portal that can transport us to other worlds. This allows us to make sense of some of Orion’s visions appearing to be in outer space during his appearance at the Advent Calander this past year. With a portal, whoever is behind all of this can travel anywhere in the universe. I hope you have your tin foil hats on tight because here is where it comes time to get creative as we move onto the second piece of this puzzle…”Within”. This one took some thinking but I feel like my answer has a few things going for it. I believe that this new TNT team is really going for something big. They have been having regular Neopets Live broadcasts and also seem to be listening to us when we pool together as a community regarding changes (see the SAP and prize pool rotation fiascos) so I think they care, and are really trying to blow us away with this new plot. But how can they blow us away? I would say a new land to explore would be pretty mind blowing. It’s been a while since we had one added so where would it fit on the map, and how would we just now be finding it? Well we couldn’t see it from the surface if it was subterranean. That’s right I believe that this new world is right underneath the known worlds of Neopia or drum roll please…WITHIN Neopia! Just as the 2021 Festival of Neggs introduced us to the void with some void related items, the 2024 Festival of Neggs introduced us to Tuffala which live in the world beneath Neopia. On a side note, one of the Neopets Live conferences mentioned that TNT was working on a new pet that was a dragon/cat mix. I have seen theories that Tuffala might somehow turn into an actual neopet in the future similar to how Krawk can make the transition from petpet to pet. Krawks have their own world (Krawk Island) so maybe Tuffala will get similar treatment. Maybe the evolution will have something to do with that Lava Musical Cylinder they gave us with Tuffala. All of this is just speculation though so take it with a grain of salt. But it would be cool to see a whole kingdom of Tuffala. Now back to the plot! We have all been seeing the posters that are scribbled on showing up in different areas of Neopia for a while now. Why can’t we seem to catch the person putting them up? It’s possible that is because they are using the underground to travel. The description for Tuffala says that they can move through the magma underneath the planets surface to travel anywhere around the globe almost instantly. Could our baddie be riding a Tuffala around to post these? More importantly, who is this baddie/baddies that are hiding in the underground? During the 2023 Faerie Festival it was shown that Vira and Drakara were definitely involved and a third party was hinted at during the March 2024 AMA. I don’t know who that is but I certainly hope it’s not Baelia. Her being grey and suddenly everyone and everything turning grey is probably just me pulling at strings here, but the April 15th post by TNT of her diary mentioned that darkness lurks in her mind and she had met a new friend so it’s a possible fit. If the third party is no Baelia it could be one of the villains that TNT used the Halloween Trick-or-Treating event to show us. I would encourage you to go back and reread the text from this event. It is too much for me to put it here but JN has it. Just google “Neopets trick or treat” and it should be the first result. I will just summarize in saying that the baddies we might face are: The Darkest Faerie, Lord Sloth, Captain Scarblade, Shadow Usul, The Three, Vira, & Xandra. So to recap…there is a portal (the void) being hidden away from sight in the underground. It is most likely guarded by Vira and Drakara along with at least one other villain. And for some reason things are turning grey on the surface. The grey part still has me somewhat baffled but I believe it definitely has something to do with Vira as hinted at in her Trick-or-Treating entry. It mentions that her book was mostly grey and was still actively turning grey. I’m wondering if they are trying to suck the magic out of Neopia and as a result everything is turning grey. Maybe they need more magic to run the portal or fix Vira and Baelia or something. I haven’t had a chance to deep dive on the grey portion of the plot but if anyone out there has and can connect the pieces I’d appreciate it. Well that’s all I have so far. If you stuck around and read my long post I appreciate it. Please feel free to comment what you feel I got right or wrong. Maybe someone with more knowledge can help me shed some light on all of this and keep me looking in the right direction. |

I have a decently sized themed shop (around 200 unique items). It's fun, but it can get kind of lonely. I'm considering applying for a mall mostly for the social aspect, but I'm kind of worried about the giant banner being obnoxious for customers.
So, I'm asking the good people of Reddit: How do you feel about buying from mall shops? Do you actively avoid them? Do you actually click on the links to other shops in the mall?
There's a lot of other considerations -- like, not wanting to turn Neopets into a second job (complete with a manager) vs. the fulfillment of a childhood dream... but I'm mostly curious on how malls feel from a customer's point of view.

When people talk about fixing Neopets and making it fun, it is always directed towards countering bots, making money sinks, adding things in Hidden Tower, ect. as if the enjoyment of the game IS the market itself and that mindset isn't a problem. It's a game about getting pets and making them look the way you want them to first and foremost and we are all lost in the sauce.
Every interaction I've had with an actual player when it comes to trading has been joyless and transactional at best and unpleasant, headache inducing, and worth taking a hiatus at the usual experience. It's no wonder the bots are so prolific because everyone is just so greedy, deceptive, or...anxious? I don't know how to categorize the third type of interaction but anxious comes close.
Think about it; if economy was just the problem than a certain pet site with a constantly growing active base that has been running for over a decade, constantly dropping the ball on updates, and having a revolving door of staff and controversy would be having similar problems, right? But because of the ease of building communities within and out of the site and the mindset of helping new members, there is a reason to avoid trading with inflators, obvious bots, and other bad faith actors (arguably to the point of overcorrection, but we are talking about Neopets, not it's competition).
Neopets actively discourages building communities because they still treat their player base as if the majority of them are kids and you can't even bring up other platforms on site, the censorship is annoying, and it discourages obvious favorable interactions between people because you can get punished for it when bots are going to be a lot more subtle and calculated. When helping your friends out is punished more frequently and harshly than establishing yourself the only shop to stock a certain item and inflating it 2000% and in addition actually talking to people is a garbage experience, it perpetuates this mindset that it's a market game over a pet site.
So if your playerbase is unfun (not saying this as a hard fact, but rather the perspective painted of your playerbase by those strictly adhering to the rules) your site is broken, everyone prioritizes the economy of the game and it's busted, your core mechanics are no longer unique to your game and aren't being improved, and your site is a Frankenstein's monster of clashing eras and broken/cancelled features...if you aren't sitting on a fat wad of basically passive income, why are you still playing?
With that rant out of the way, I do want to actually end on a positive note because I'm not just a random Neopets hater. Even when removing the nostalgia goggles I still quite enjoy Neopets because I feel like the lore and world building established have not been able to be replicated by any site. It's the only petsite that I not only care about the NPCs, but I love them or hate them. The remnants of the flashplayer bios for individual pets live rent free in my head, and because of that my dream is to have at least one pet from each unique mentioned location and I'm actually really close! I also used to dream of submitting stories on the forum years back, though I find more enjoyment and freedom doing that off site now. Speaking of which the off-site community is some of the funniest, wittiest fandom I've ever interacted with and it's devastating that I have to pretend that we don't know each other in game because we could be accused of the sin of helping each other. There are some very ugly-cute pet/paint designs that no other pet site would make and that tends to lead to very same-ey feeling pets whereas there is a type of pet or paint for every kind of person on Neopets. I'm kind of curious to know outside of nostalgia, what is keeping you guys around?

I can only really confidently speak about Hololive, but I do not doubt the love and passion that people had for Nijisanji. So I was/still am watching through hwikky's videos (link to his channel here) because I'm a self-admitted big fan of Hololive. I got a thought as I see the love and passion in my heart being reflected in the fans that he meets and himself really.
I can only really confidently speak about Hololive, but I do not doubt the love and passion that people had for Nijisanji. As a kid I couldn't afford any brushes before the conversion, so I have trained BD pets and tried to trade up and finally get some UC pets that I really like. I was nowhere near the goal though. And since they said the UCs are now available again, I thought maybe I can actually get my dream pets after all these years!
Last time I was active on neopets is probably 10 years ago, and I only remember my username but not the password or email address which I used to register the account anymore. I have tried many combinations in the last days but couldn't find it. Finally I have submitted a request and TNT kindly restored the account for me.
So I logged in to the account and checked the email address. Turns out it is not some stupid old email address which I abandoned years ago, but something totally unknown to me. So I was hacked after all, I think?
Then I realized something: I have gifted out most of my painted pets before I stopped playing, but last I remembered I still got some RW 4L pet on the account which I had hoped to trade up some day. But last time when I checked my account 10 years ago, it just disappeared. I can't even remember the name, it was nothing super "high valued" after all although I did get neomails from people who were willing to trade for it. As I was not active playing at that time, I didn't bother and just accepted that the pet was gone LOL
Soo I have got my old account back, but in the last days I have already created a new account and impulsively buyed NC there for a UC baby kougra w It was not possible in my home country to purchase NC and I didn't have the money, now as an adult I couldn't resist! But what do I do now? Can I safely transfer the token to my old account and continue to use it as my main? And what do you guys do at neopets nowadays, with flash gone and all, besides for nostalgia reason? xD

I guess I was mostly just wondering if this has happened to anyone else (and maybe warn others). My premium just ended so I was clicking on the popup, choosing who to send away for a bit. I did change my mind a couple times trying to work it out, but when I hit submit I see half the ones I tried to keep got swapped with two I was trying to void. And yes, I’m positive the correct ones were highlighted, I triple checked.
I don’t really want to submit a ticket, I’ve had not great luck with small issues and don’t want to risk my pets when I can fix it myself by resubbing for a month somewhere down the line but has this happened to you? Or am I just unlucky?
EDIT: I found the culprit, apparently there was another tab that loaded Neopets with the popup still active and the highlights matched the pets that got sent. Beware of background tabs when picking your void pets!!

Hi! So I've been editing a petpage all weekend, and I'm really happy with it and want to save the changes. However, every time I do, the mass majority of the coding disappears. Is this just a neopets bug glitch thing? I've tried pasting the code into other pet's pages to check, and the same thing happens. I'm hoping this is simply nothing and will resolve itself, as I've never worked so hard on a page before lol

TL;DR, someone took over my account yesterday, while I was actively using it, either through hacking or convincing TNT they're the true owner of it.
I got an email from support this morning:
The first belonged to an old family member, and is probably the one I used to create my account. I'm not sure they even use that address anymore.
The second is one I made as teenager, and haven't touched in a very long time. I can't reclaim it, because it's in use. Either I didn't close that account when I made a new email address, or someone else took it later on. Either way, I can't access it.
I have a feeling that if I explain this, support will just say, "Oh well, can't help you then. Sorry!" I have seen stories of people struggling with TNT when they don't have access to old email addresses.
Is it worth continuing to try and plead my case, or am I just screwed now?
A small, quick update for anyone still keeping an eye on this post: After about a week of exchanging messages with a support member, they suggested I submit an appeal ticket to get help from the senior agents in the department.
So the waiting game continues, but at least I haven't been outright told I won't get my account back. Some hope still remains. :)

The second is one I made as teenager, and haven't touched in a very long time. I can't reclaim it, because it's in use. Either I didn't close that account when I made a new email address, or someone else took it later on. Either way, I can't access it.
I have a feeling that if I explain this, support will just say, "Oh well, can't help you then. Sorry!" I have seen stories of people struggling with TNT when they don't have access to old email addresses.
Is it worth continuing to try and plead my case, or am I just screwed now?
A small, quick update for anyone still keeping an eye on this post: After about a week of exchanging messages with a support member, they suggested I submit an appeal ticket to get help from the senior agents in the department.
So the waiting game continues, but at least I haven't been outright told I won't get my account back. Some hope still remains. :)

Hey guys, I don’t want my account to get frozen and I’m wondering if the name of my neopet is an issue? They are rainbow painted and have a pride background (I’m bisexual) and her name is a play on the word lesbian.. would that be an issue? I figured that it was okay because lesbian isn’t a dirty word and Neopets clearly isn’t anti LGBTQ. What do you think?

Hi, TNT. While I was browsing through eBay, I found Neopets trading cards for sale. There are so many, and I was interested in buying some, but wouldn't that be against the rules? I don't really think it would be, but I'd rather ask than risk my account. I'm not 100% sure, but can't you redeem codes from the cards in the packs and get items? No, physical merchandise produced or officially licensed by us is just fine to buy, sell, or trade online. This includes stuff like real life plushies, action figures, TCG cards, etc. Codes are considered a legitimate part of these items. Items you cannot buy or sell online are virtual items, Neopoints, Neopets, or accounts.

Hi, TNT! I have an odd question for you.... about commissions. Now, I know taking them in exchange for anything on Neopets is against the rules, as is doing commissions with Neopets characters. However... what about real-life merchandise? I'm the sort that's willing to take trades, and I was wondering: could someone pay me in Neopets plushies? What about rare item codes, or Neocash? (the cards, not actual on-site NC items) I mean, people sell the item codes on eBay all the time, so wouldn't that be okay? As far as NC cards go, if I'm just going to buy them anyway, why not save a step? Would these be against the Terms & Conditions because they give things on the site itself? I mean, obviously, it still wouldn't be okay to do a commission OF Neopets, but in exchange for merchandise, where do you guys stand? (please remove my username) ~username removed
As you said, as long as you aren't taking commissions of Neopets intellectual property, you're welcome to trade or sell your real-world merchandise however you'd like. According to Lawyerbot: "Trading plushies, rare item codes, NC cards, etc. for real-life merchandise is fine. I once traded my brother's turtle to a friend for a Shadow Uni Plushie.

So, I had a question about gifting rare item codes, Space Faerie codes, site theme codes (like Puzzle Adventure), etc. I know it is against the rules to ask for anything like "tips" or compensation in return for gifting a code, as well as selling codes. However, is it against the rules to ask someone to return the item that they got from the code itself? Say someone receives a plushie from redeeming a code. Is it okay to ask that they return the plushie, or would it be better to say something like, "I would greatly appreciate if you return the item, but it's not required" since non-requested thank you gifts are allowed? If the receiver is kind enough to return the item from the code, we wouldn't consider it any sort of "tip" due to the nature of Rate Item Codes. That said, once you give away the code, it is up to the codebearer to decide what to do with the item. You can ask them as you phrased the example above, but code gifting is an unsupported transaction and we will likely be unable to assist if the person chooses to keep the item.

Have you read any good books or seen any good movies lately?I've been reading a book series called Spells, Swords, Stealth and the first one is named NPCs. The premise is that there are NPCs that somehow (no spoilers) end up doing the job that would normally be completed by PCs. The characters are all super likable and the it's written really well. Definitely recommend if you want to add another fantasy book to your list!
