Hi, engineers. Long time no see. You might already know Icarus was preparing some new fancy stuff for a future update. It’s a project that requires lots of resources from across the entire cluster. Icarus can only hope its vessels had brought enough warpers, or they would return 2000 years later.
CentreBrain already found the Interstellar Logistic Stations not being very “logical” when they are on many different planets. Like when one ship set off to deliver some ores, all needing stations are going overboard and spamming “Mine, mine!” in the transmission. So CentreBrain is now planting a logic chip into the Interstellar Logistic Station to make it function more properly.
Now you can set priority settings in Interstellar Logistic Stations, it comes with a new shipshape UI will help you manage your transport priorities.
This is not a final update for the interstellar transport system, a few future optimization updates are planned for further optimization.
For the details of the transport update, please refer to the Interstellar Transport Optimization Dev Log

Hello, everyone,
Did you ever watch any TV series from the 20th century? Do you have a favourite Spacegirl from there? Is she a heroine, a villain, or just someone who got caught up in the adventure?
Any Spacegirl from the beginning of television to the year 2000 is what we are looking for; one who has been off Earth or was born under a foreign star.
Spacegirls from 20th century TV series
Just a few series to remind you; I'm sure you can add to this list: Blakes 7, Doctor Who, Lost in Space, Space: 1999 (Cosmos:1999 in France), Star Trek, Stargate, Starlost, UFO, V
Please note that any posts that don’t fit today's theme will be removed, therefore:
Theme-related posts only on Wednesday, please.

What do you value the most on your Assistant Manager? Who is the most interesting IRL staff you've found?
I've been hiring different people on different saves on FM24, but I have found the most success with Goran Lackovic (54, Croatia), currently on Chelsea. He was a player on his home country, but never made it to the big leagues. Once he retired from his playing carreer, he attended university and went for a continental pro license. He was a coach in Crotia, before accepting a job as an assistant for Monaco (2020-2022). He took a break after Kovac (head coach) left the team.
I learned that the profile I want for my right hand is that of a Head of Youth Development. I start by looking to someone really good at working with youngsters, positive personality, efficient in people management and capable of providing good reports. Second, but just as important, that person needs to be really good and friendly in press conferences and broadcast interviews, and he needs to prefer the same formation and set piece tactics as myself and the set piece coach (Bernado Cueva, ex-Brentford, amazing by the way)
I trust Lackovic a lot, keeps people happy, he mostly handles media and protects myself and the team from the predating journalists and the overwhelming amount of press conferences, and he is very good at it. Lose or win, he keeps my players motivated off-pitch while I'm busy on the training grounds and matchday and refuses to respond to transfer speculation 90% of the times. His reputation is already going up alongside mine. I'm not afraid to let him handle friendlies one day, but since I'm still rebuilding the squad, I feel like I need to be ever present on the pitch, and have not done it yet.
We got a domestic treble on our first season, but im yet to develop a strong relationship with him, any tips?
Here goes his profile:

He is available on a free, and he doesn't demand too much. I'm pretty sure I offered a lot, lot more than he asked, but can't remember exactly how much, as I did it in the morning of my first day at Chelsea.

2024.05.29 03:40 Httppancakes [TOMT] 2000’s Children show. Was released on DVD

Need help finding children show/movie I think the show was made in the early 2000's. From what I remember, it was about a travelling circus group or heavily gypsy influenced travelling group with the main character being a tween fair dirty blonde hair girl. On their travels they find children. Two boys and a baby girl. It's later revealed that the older brother is actually the big bad guy of the series and he's mutated into this green scaled lizard humanoid. The baby girl is also trying the to protect them from the future by giving the main protagonist directions advise etc. I specifically remember one of the episodes centring around a cannibal-owned hotel. The group was travelling in winter time on some hill tops and had very little food. The group start imagining different food they want to eat and pretend to eat the food. One kid in the group has trouble since he has a very realistic mind and can't imagine anything. They come across a hotel and decide to stay the night. The group immediately gets bombarded with food, drinks, and amazing bedding. Except, the one kid who doesn't have an imagination. Turns out the owners of the hotel are cannibals and drugs passing group via drinks into thinking that they have a lavish meal and room. The food is actually worms and the lavish bedding is just haybales. The non imaginary kid saves the day. The group leaves and the cannibals end up eating each other. Despite what I just described, the show was rather PG. Been thinking about the show for so long!!! And would love to know what the name of the show is.

2024.05.29 03:04 Tree_fromYT If I started a campaign and successfully launched a fix-ending, and deeply expanded AoT sequel would you watch it? (please don’t be mean in the comments)

Ever since ch. 138 came out I began drafting a story within the AoT universe and the reason I did it wasn’t to "fix" the ending, the ending hadn’t come out yet. The reason was to expand the lore and to answer so many questions I had about this story. It was quite fun to plan it, my basic mindset was laying out all the unsolved plot points and sew them together somehow and it took me around 2 days to do so. - Between 15th and 16th of March, 2021. - I set out planning a 21 chapters story, that would be roughly 100k words long, with chapters coming out week to week and hoping to probably finish it in September 2021.
I ended up with over 500k words, multiple new characters - mostly in the "2000 years ago" storyline, in a pretty fun, but quite dark sci-fi adventure story. There's cannibalism in this - ofc, it's aot - and much gruesomeness and violence, but it's also cute at times... Writing it for the past 3 years has been a lot of fun but admittedly has taken over most of my life and certainly all of my free time. Still it was like therapy for my AoT superfan heart so it's fine.
Now that the epilogue is mostly complete and I'm saying goodbye to this story I started to wonder more about how it would be to see all of those scenes animated and how fantastic they could look. It seems like a mad, unachievable dream, considering how expensive it would be to animate most of it, especially the fight scenes and world-end scenarios. Not to mention the crystal-coated Titans 💀 It would be arduous and it would take very long to get to the ending - around 5 to 7 seasons, depending on the length of the episodes - but it would be quite a journey.
So would you be willing to watch it?

if you want to know the basics of it, here at the topic it covers:
• Ymir's life, 2000 years ago; • Titan origins (9 titans and pure titans); • The life and death of Maria, Rose & Sina; • The Ackermann family 2000 years ago; • Clear explanation of the Ackermann powers and curse; • A lot more about Paths; • The Titan War (100 years ago); • Karl Fritz and the creation of the Walls; • Hizuru, Marley & Eldia after the Rumbling; • Eren's motivations and Attack Titan powers; • The future of Titans and the world; • Ymir's freedom.
The story focuses on Ymir as the main character and it explores her life, expanding a lot of the lore and explaining many things that were left unanswered. It goes back and forth between that storyline - 2000 years ago - and the future, following the regular main cast that we are used to, plus an even further future with a next generation in a post-rumbling world. That third storyline (post-rumbling) is centred (in the first arc at least) on Mikasa and Armin's son, just to give you a heads up, because for some reason just the idea of them having a child makes some AoT fans uncomfortable, I don’t get why. Hey, I just wanted to have a fun, very smart and very violent (raised by Levi) Ackermann with Uncle Eren issues to play around with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and I'm not really sorry, he was a fun character to create and still not even close to my favourites Ackermanns, and Fritzs, and Tyburs and other wacky crazies I got to add to this tale between 2000 years ago, years 854 to 867 and now, in the epilogue, up to year 880. (Yes, there are new characters even in the epilogue. 😊)
And don’t worry about the new characters stealing the spotlight, the story also focuses a lot on the main cast that you're used to. Mainly EMA and other mains like Historia and Levi. And I also made sure to expand the story of the Warriors and Survey Corps and other minor characters too. And to give them all very good and respectful sendoffs. That's why it got to over 2000 pages. 😅 I'm not big on hate by the way, I might have some favourite characters, sure. But I respect them all the same. So if you're one of those people who loves "so and so" character but hates other "so and so" characters, then this story is not for you.
PS: Ymir is the main character in this yes, and no, there is no creepy romance between her and King Fritz, there's no creepy stuff in this story in general, there's weird stuff for sure but nothing creepy.
*Real PS: I'm sorry if my post somehow is upsetting or distasteful for you, and I'm thankful for you reading this far regardless. 🙏 I'm not here hoping to offend anyone or trigger bad discussions. I'm just very excited about all that I wrote and very eager to share with other AoT fans.
So, cheers!

2024.05.29 00:20 minnesotawi21 Concert Question - Shaggy (circa mid 2000's)

Here's a question I never thought I'd ask on Reddit:
I love concerts, and my first or second show was seeing Shaggy, at the Metro Centre sometime in the mid 2000's. Almost sure it was in May. I've been tracking my setlists on setlist.fm and tried to find this one, no luck there or anywhere else I've looked so far. I remember the show well, it did happen, but does anyone know when?

2024.05.28 21:47 RZeigler Progress Centre Update: Their Successful First Event For Rural Democratic Candidates

Hi all,
If folks want to read the quick Progress Centre email follow up relating to their first event and a few other things, you can click here for it.
This was the first event that Progress Centre hosted and it was held at the Juniata Brewing Company on May 24th in the wonderful community of Huntingdon, a borough in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. This event was not only a fundraiser event for Sean Steeg, Democratic Candidate for the 81st District for PA House, but served as a place to build community and act as a meet and greet.
The event started off with greeting guests and collecting canned goods for the local food bank. Some folks brought items to be auctioned off (silent auction) to help raise more funds for Sean and his campaign. Approximately 40 people or so showed up to stay (about another dozen or so stopped by to drop something off or talk with Sean briefly to show support before leaving for the Memorial Day weekend). We also had music at the event with a nice break to plug the auction and have the man of the hour speak. Additionally, Democratic Candidate Beth Farnham (PA 13th Congressional District) showed her support for Sean and his campaign. She also stressed the importance of having people who do the work for communities and will protect reproductive rights.
Overall, it was good to see a blend of moderate Republicans (yes, only a couple but some are better than none), unaffiliated voters, progressive and moderate Democrats in a spot to support a candidate who supports everyday people. The event led to multiple bags of canned goods being donated to the local food bank, a rural Democratic candidate raising almost $2000 in a day, and some folks willing to volunteer and do the thankless work to help make a difference. And it was also great to see various groups such as the Huntingdon County Democrats and Franklin County Democrats support their candidate.
If you’re willing to help support Sean and his campaign, you can invest in his campaign here! You can also follow him on Facebook and Instagram (like and/or share his posts, the more interactions he gets, the more his stuff pops up for others).
If you’re want to support rural Democratic candidates and support the work they do to help up and down the ballot, then please invest in Progress Centre (ideally $15 a month), volunteer (however you prefer), or just sign up for their emails and forward the information to folks you think will support the cause. Progress Centre can also be found on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) so give them a follow, like and share their socials!
Progress Centre isn’t just about supporting candidates, it’s about supporting communities and building relationships to last a life time. It’s truly about creating and building positive change.
Thank you for reading and thank you all for the support you provide.

2024.05.28 01:26 Urimulini The massive Messier 106

The massive Messier 106
Messier 106 September 16, 2015 Messier 106 (M106) is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Canes Venatici, the Hunting Dogs. M106 lies at a distance of 23.7 million light years from Earth and has an apparent magnitude of 9.1. It has the designation NGC 4258 in the New General Catalogue.
Messier 106 occupies an area of 18.6 by 7.2 arc minutes of apparent sky, corresponding to a spatial diameter of 135,000 light years. It is similar in size and luminosity to the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) and is one of the brightest, largest nearby galaxies.
M106 has a high surface brightness and can be seen in binoculars, which reveal a faint patch of light. Small telescopes show a diffuse patch with a brighter centre, while 8-inch telescopes reveal more details of the galaxy’s structure. Large amateur telescopes show the galaxy’s spiral arms.
Messier 106 lies along a line drawn from Phecda (Phad), Gamma Ursae Majoris, the star marking the bottom of the Big Dipper toward the handle, to Cor Caroli, Alpha Canum Venaticorum, the brightest star in Canes Venatici constellation. M106 can also be located by extending the line from Dubhe, Alpha Ursae Majoris to Phecda. Dubhe is the northern of the Pointer Stars, the two stars of the Big Dipper that point the way to Polaris in Ursa Minor.
Messier 106 can also be found using Megrez, Delta Ursae Majoris, the faintest star of the Big Dipper asterism, which connects the Dipper’s bowl to the handle. The magnitude 4.8 star 5 Canum Venaticorum (5 CVn) lies 5.5 degrees south and a little east of Megrez and M106 is positioned a little over 4 degrees to the south of 5 CVn. The best time of year to observe M106 is during the spring. The galaxy is a challenging object for southern observers because it never rises very high in the sky.
Messier 106 is classified as a SABbc type galaxy, which means that it is an intermediate between a normal and barred spiral galaxy. It is home to at least 400 billion stars.
Messier 106 is also classified as a Seyfert II galaxy. It has a considerably larger extent in radio than in visible light and exhibits emission line spectra from the nucleus. M106 shows unusual emission lines and X-rays, indicating that a portion of the galaxy is falling into a central supermassive black hole.
M106 is a maser galaxy. It has a dense disk that works as a maser (Microwave Amplifier by Stimulated Emission of Radiation). A maser is a microwave laser, or a laser that operates in microwave instead of visible light, on a galactic scale. The nuclear megamaser ring, which made it possible to directly measure distance to a galaxy for the first time, is responsible for M106’s purple colour.
Messier 106 may have a companion galaxy, the spiral galaxy NGC 4217. NGC 4217 is about 80,000 light years across and appears almost perfectly edge on.
Messier 106 is the largest member of the Canes Venatici II Group (CVn II Group), a group of galaxies in the Local Supercluster, located at a distance of about 26.1 million light years from Earth.
Two supernovae have been discovered in M106. SN 1981K, discovered in 1981, reached 16th magnitude and SN 2014bc, detected on May 20, 2014 at magnitude 14.8, was classified as a Type II supernova.
Messier 106 was discovered by the French astronomer Pierre Méchain in July of 1781. Méchain mentioned the discovery in a letter to Johann Bernoulli dated May 6, 1783: CREDITS Hubble observatory/NASA/ESO

2024.05.27 23:08 Kaier_96 Going to my first tournament, what advice would you give?

Hello hive mind! I got back into 40K for 10th edition.
I thought I’d give the competitive scene a go, and decided to sign up for a local GT.
I debated on what list I was going to take, and I decided to go as meta as I can, using Invasion Fleet as it’s my favourite and my most played detachment.
Here is my list;
Please let me win (1990 Points)
Tyranids Invasion Fleet Strike Force (2000 Points)

Ripper Swarms (20 Points) • 1x Chitinous claws and teeth
Exported with App Version: v1.15.0 (38), Data Version: v397
It’s a pretty meta list, some of the choices I made was either because I didn’t have the model or I wanted to use it.
My plan is pretty standard; Biovore and Ripper Swarms in Deep Strike for secondary scoring. Neurotyrant to sit on home objective. Norn to flank on the side where the enemy put the least resources. Gargoyles to be annoying, steal objectives or score secondaries. Everything else to storm the centre/primary objective.
If you have any CC for my list of just general advice, I would love to hear it!

2024.05.26 05:33 dj1z Large venue rentals (ie large gyms, convention centres, etc) recommendations

I'm looking to find options for large venue rental for the winter for a martial art tournament. Around the 8500-10,000 sq ft is ideal. (+/- 2000 or so)
Dakota Fieldhouse is great 2/3 their space is perfect, but they are a pain in the ass to work with for booking their facility. I've also used the main floor at Assiniboia Downs before.
What other venues do you know about that I could look into?
RBC Convention Centre and Victoria Inn have come up, but Im looking for all options.
SportsMB couldnt fit us in, and UofM havent replied.
Looking for options! Thanks all.

2024.05.25 11:01 redorredDT 21st ideas in Melb

Hi,
I'm from SE region and unfortunately can't have a party at my house since it'd be too small, both the inside and especially the backyard, to occupy people comfortably.
Are there any venues or other houses I can book that are good for hosting a party? I'm thinking around 60+ people would attend so I need something that is quite open but doesn't have to be extremely huge. People will drink as well so it has to be a place that serves drinks. As for the area, SE is good but people are coming from east, west and the city so the city would probably be a good place as well as it's almost the centre point of those regions.
I don't think this is the type of party where I'll have parents around or have some sort of stand to make a speech so excluding that would be okay. The thing with house parties is that they feel a little more comforting for people to do whatever they want whereas at venues it seems like people are forced to stay in a box where they can either stand to dance or sit down to eat/drink, in my opinion. Anything that has a little more open space seems good to me (such as another house, but I'm aware many are against parties), but if you feel I'm wrong please correct me as this is my first time booking for a large party. The groups are kind of split into 3-4 groups of people. So, having a venue where people are too close together and can't walk around to different places or sit in their own place doesn't seem ideal.
As for music, I'm a little lenient for this one as normally I'm okay with music from speakers but if there's also a place where I can book a DJ or someone to play music, I think that works too.
In terms of budget, I'm willing to spend up to $2000, but a bit more if necessary as well.
Sorry if I come across as naïve or a little too picky, but it's hard to know exactly what constitute a good party for what I initially wanted to be just a house party, but now realised my house was way too small for that.
Thanks in advance.
