Here is for the mamas who are not having the best day and need to laugh. I hope this helps so here we go. Me and my 6 year old were at the library and he was playing on the computer, with his friend. They have advertisements, where they can skip after a certain amount of seconds. This one add popped up showing a guy with egg yolk on his knee caps. The egg yolk was not running but circles. My 6 year old says really loud, while it was very quiet "EWWWWWW BOOBIES😩". Im like "shhhhhh ummm please don't say that😳". I wanted to melt into the floor from embarrassment😮‍💨. But it's actually pretty funny😂. Anyways hope this makes some mamas laugh🥰

2024.05.20 02:01 baubleballs Today I almost died, canyoning

I’m currently traveling — volunteering, and the man I’m helping is a tour guide on the side. This is the second time he’s taken me(and others) to a virgin set of waterfalls in the south of Costa Rica.
The aversion is indescribable. So many times I told him I didn’t want to do it (last time I had a drowning scare) but for better or worse, he pushed me. We rappelled, we climbed up wet rock walls with only a rope, and worst of all, we hiked around a slippery, muddy cliff I almost fell from. The whole time I was so afraid.
And I was trying to force myself not to be—but that didn’t work! I took refuge in the Three Jewels, I chanted mantras, but I still had to climb the rocks and try not to die, relying entirely on myself.
I don’t know what to make of it. It was terrifying. I have encountered that deep down I am in fact really scared — in any situation like that, where others power through, I buckle with fear. Death, I suppose, isn’t too bad — but I’m so new in my practice! If I die… certainly, as of now, I will not be reborn in a good destination. Thus Buddhism exacerbates my fear; if I die before some attainments, it will mean eons of suffering.
I feel braver, to some extent, but the only “lesson” here seems to be that I wish to ordain, soon. Or at least strengthen my practice. I want to be ready at any moment to die, fearlessly, knowing I will not have wasted this life.

2024.05.20 01:49 kctan12 Xiao Man (小满) Solar Terms – Diet and General Wellness Guidelines

We will be going into the Xiao Man (小满) solar term (节气) starting from 20 May to 4 Jun 2024. Xiao Man is the 8th solar term out of the entire 24.
The reason it is called Xiao Man is because during this period, grains like barley (大麦) and winter wheat (冬小麦) start to get fuller (饱满). However, the grains still need more time to become fully ripened. Hence it’s called ‘Xiao Man’ (小满, on its way to being fully ripened) instead of ‘Man’ (满, meaning fully ripened).
During this solar term, we can expect to see more rainfall and high temperatures at the same time. This means the environment will be very humid, resulting in dampness (湿邪) developing in the body.
When the body has too much dampness (湿邪), the person will experience symptoms like poor appetite, bloated stomach, lack of energy or not having the urge to drink water.
The dietary direction for this solar term should be 健脾化湿, which means strengthening the spleen to remove dampness.
Before we go into the recommended list of foods, I strongly recommend you to avoid consuming cold drinks and sweet stuff during this period as it will worsen the dampness in the body.
The following are the top 5 foods recommended during this solar term:
Green Beans (绿豆) – Also known as mung beans, they not only can help to clear heatiness in the body but they can also help to remove dampness by increasing the urination frequency. Compared to red beans, green beans have stronger heat-clearing and anti-inflammatory properties.
Red Beans (红豆) – Red beans have the properties of clearing heatiness and removing dampness in the body. This is the reason why some people like to mix Chinese barley with red beans for dampness removal. Red beans have stronger dampness removal properties than green beans.
Winter Melon (冬瓜) – Winter melon is a good food to eat during this period because it helps to remove the dampness in the body through urination. It can also reduce body heatiness due to the summer heat.
Chinese Yam (山药) – Chinese yam is very suitable to be consumed during this period because it can help to strengthen the spleen and improve its ability to get rid of accumulated dampness in our body.
Chinese Barley (薏苡仁) – Another highly recommended food to eat during this period is Chinese barley as it has very strong properties to help with clearing dampness, especially if you have water retention issues in the lower part of your body.

General Wellness Recommendation

During this period, the heart can easily accumulate fire (心火), resulting in insomnia, dizziness, feeling frustrated, and/or irregulaheavy heartbeat.
The main lifestyle recommendation is to reduce the heart fire or prevent it from going into an excessive state.
Meditating is an effective way to reduce heart fire. Do consider meditating before sleep. It can help to reduce the heart fire and calm the mind.
For best results, you can enjoy a book after meditation (instead of using mobile devices) and go to bed when you start to feel sleepy.
Another important thing to note during this period is to avoid doing strenuous exercises.
The reason is that such exercises will make you sweat a lot and in TCM, there is a saying “汗为心之液” – which means the sweat is actually fluid from the heart. This also means that excessive sweating will deplete the heart’s Yin energy and thus, making one’s heart go into the heart fire (心火) state easily. Try to go for light exercise so you won’t sweat so much.
If you have been sweating a lot during this period, make sure you add some lily bulbs (dried or fresh) to your diet as lily bulbs can help to replenish your heart Yin energy.
Another simple way to replenish heart Yin energy is to drink more water. But if you’re unable to do so for practical reasons (especially during work), then consuming lily bulb will be a better way.
Hope you find this post helpful and have a healthy Xiao Man solar term!

2024.05.20 01:44 Tall-Hurry5544 Your contempt and my resentment

The worst pain is realising you never cared. Realising how little you cared breaks me every day in new ways. People who care would never make their worst nightmare someone else's reality. I don't believe you can empathise at all. I believe you just entertain yourself without ever caring about how anyone else might feel. It's all about your bottom line. I hate that I still can't let this go, and I hate even more that I can't bring myself to make your life a living hell more than it already is. I hope you suffer the same betrayal that I have, and I hope you realise how your lack of communication doesn't help and doesn't shield you from anything. Problems are meant to be faced and worked through. Communication exists for a reason. Silence only strengthens anger. That knot at the bottom of the stomach that you grow. I waited god knows how many months for a "Hey, I don't want it to end this way between us" or "I am sorry. I am explicitly aware of the ways in which I messed up, and I am actively taking steps to change".
I hope a car runs you over and frees the world of your contempt, and I hope the next one runs me over and frees me of my resentment towards you. What a waste of energy holding onto hope for you has been.
I wrote this a few months ago. After expressing it, the feeling passed. Now it's just an echo of an emotional experience.

2024.05.20 01:43 dogpork69 Interface recommendations

I currently run a small catering unit serving an office block. It's a solo operation, and I'm looking to find a means to streamline my order taking and payment.
The service consists of breakfast sandwiches Monday and Friday which can contain any number of around 10 fillings like bacon, eggs, salmon.
The middle 3 days get a menu, like pasta on Tuesday with 3 options to choose from.
I'm looking for a system that will let people pre-order their food for a selected time slot. It would be helpful if I could set limits on things like bookings per time slot or items left in stock. If the system could also let them pay before they collect that would be a bonus but not essential.
I guess what Im looking for in a nut shell is the kind of system big delivery companies like Justeat and Deliveroo use but without the drivers
Does anyone have any recommendations for an interface like this?

2024.05.20 01:32 tamiette_ i fr don’t know what to do

I have a bf for almost 2 yrs and we’ve been living together na rin. Early days ng relationship namin hindi naman halata na may anger issue siya (well, anger issue kasi grabi talaga siya magalit, he sometimes agree and he sometimes disagree din na meron siyang anger issues) malala yung away namin early days living together, to the point na binasag nya yung isa kong phone pero for it doesn’t matter kasi it was my extra phone in case lang ma dead bat yung main phone ko, napagusapan na namin lahat na mga mali namin etc nagka ayos naman kami, hindi na siya masyadong nagagalit mga ganon, chill lang siya pero mapang asar parin and I guess its normal naman, mabilis naman ako mapikon mabilis din magpatawad pero he keeps on making asar like alam mo yung sadya na talaga na ginagalit niya ako tas pag nanglambing sasabihin niya, “joke lang, de mabiro” tas mangaasar nanaman, minsan it’s draining pero I can handle it naman.
Around 3pm, he asked me to cook pancit canton with egg and gusto niya yung egg niya yung yolk half cook lang and ginawa ko naman yung usual pero nagalit siya kasi de daw luto, ang langsa daw (pero nag iba kami ng egg yung white egg na premium na ah, apaka hirap lutoin yung yolk lagi basag hindi ako makaluto ng sunny side up pero masarap siya) Idk sobrang nagalit talaga siya pero nag sorry ako nagluto nalang ulit without the egg.
Dinner na namin nagmake siya ng food (yung may tuna, kewpie, green onions and fish sauce) then kinakain kasi yun with Korean Seaweed yung kimnori dalawa yung binili namin yung BBQ and yung Original flavor lang ata yon basta yellow siya. Ready to eat na kami pero yung table namin ang daming unnecessary na mga gamit like sobrang loaded may mga screw driver, aviation snippet etc kasi hour ago he was tinkering sa nasira kong monitor (intentional na sinira nya yon kasi nagaway ulit kami tas binato nya ata ng something then yung screen naging rainbow colors nalang) he was tinkering the monitor as usual hindi nya nilinis yung parts ng mga monitor sa table so inuusog ko habang nakain siya. Hindi ko alam anong nangyare pero nahulog yung BBQ na seaweed which is yung favorite nya then sobrang galit na galit siya and for me naman lang naman gusto ko makakain ng maayos kasi hindi ako makakain kasi ang daming mga gamit na nilalagay niya, pero kinain nya yung original then pinakain saakin yung tira which is okay lang naman saakin kasi kasalanan ko din naman.
He is so mad until now I did say sorry, pero alam mo yung ayaw niya talaga, nakakain naman siya yung sa original na kimori then ngayong umaga, naglinis ako ng litter box ng pusa namin, then I cooked rice and magluluto sana ako ng Tocino kaso nagising siya he was aggressive sabi nya “AKO NA MAGLULUTO PALPAK KA MAGLUTO” hinayaan ko nalang siya kasi pag ipilit ko pa baka masigawan pa ako. I don’t usually makes these mistakes, nahihirapan ako kasi every first week ng pagbabalik ko ng pills gusto ko lang magpahinga ofc ayoko maging pabigat I’m trying to help din pero hindi niya kasi naiintindihan yan. He knows na 1st week pills ko na pero idk if he cares ewan lang.
I fr don’t know what to do.

2024.05.20 01:23 LilacTeaBag [M4F] [M4A] [PART 2] Your Demon Familiar Keeps Your Suitors Away [Possessive] [Dancing Ball] [Witch/Wizard/Mage Listener] [Fantasy] [Romance] [Jealousy] [Magic]

Hi everyone !
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all, some information about the script :
I don't mind monetization, but I'd like to be credited.
If certain elements written in the script cause problems during recording, I'm fine with minor adjustments (rephrasing sentences, adding reactions), as long as they preserve the original meaning of the script. All actions involving sound additions (noises, music, etc.) are not obligatory, but they can contribute to immersion in the story. The important thing is that the listener understands what's going on.
Also : English is not my first language, so don't hesitate to let me know if the script contains any errors, either in the writing or in the construction of the story.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Context :
You're a witch respected throughout the kingdom. It may seem surprising, but you help the royal family with your powers and healing potions. To thank you, the king has decided to invite you to a ball. Perhaps it was more the idea of his son, the Prince, who seems interested in you. Your Familiar, on the other hand, has no intention of letting the heir to the throne get too close to you. Let's hope the party goes off without a hitch.
Additional info :
Estimated audio length : 1400 spoken word, 10 to 15min
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Listener and Familiar arrive at the outer gate of the castle, on their way to the ball]
Speaker : Ugh, I really hate this costume. I feel too covered up, like I'm confined.
Speaker : How do humans stand this ? I feel ridiculous.
(...)

Speaker : You find me elegant like this ?
Speaker : Well, maybe this outfit isn't so bad after all...
(…)

Speaker (embarrassed) : You, too, look really charming in that attire...
[They walk]
Speaker : Well, we'd better hurry up and get inside ; the ball will start soon.
[Palace guards approach]
Speaker : Guards... Do you think they've come to welcome us ?
[The guards look aggressive]

Speaker : Well, judging by the weapons they're carrying, it seems they're not here to chat.
Speaker : Stay behind me ; it's dangerous.
[The guards seem unwilling to let them pass, swords clashing]

Speaker : Hey, hey, let's calm down ! We have invitations.
Speaker (annoyed) : Looks like you don't know who you're dealing with. This person is the most influential witch in the kingdom. I suggest you step back if you don't want to end up as toads.
(…)

Speaker (addressing Listener again) : I told you coming here was a bad idea.
Speaker : They're not exactly eager to see us join their little party.
(…)
[The guards finally let them through]

Speaker : Well, you finally agree to let us through, it’s about time.
Speaker : Come on, we should hurry before they change their minds.

[They enter the room]
Speaker : Well. I must admit this place is splendid. All these ornaments, this decoration, it must be incredibly expensive.
Speaker (bitterly) : It looks like the royal family has a penchant for extravagance. I bet half the kingdom's taxes go into these adornments.
(…)
Speaker : Well, at least they have good food. I hope the dishes taste as good as they look.
Speaker : We should head to the buffet to find out ! Comme on, follow me !
[They head towards the buffet]

Speaker : Look at all these delicacies. There, exotic fruits ! And here, pastries !
Speaker : There are even dishes I don’t recognize... They really don’t skimp on the food.
[Speaker grabs a plate and starts eating]

Speaker (taking a bite) : Mmm, delicious ! At least they know how to treat their guests.
Speaker (chewing) : Hmm… Oh, and this cake is really good !
[Speaker turns to the Listener]

Speaker (holding out a spoon to the Listener) : Here, taste this !
Speaker : Hm ? Does it bother you if I feed you ?
(…)

Speaker : Hey, it’s nothing ! You’re the one making it weird by refusing so vehemently !
Speaker : I swear this cake is delicious. Come on, say "Ahhh."
[Speaker feeds the Listener]

Speaker : There, very good. So ? What do you think ?
(…)

Speaker (content) : Hehe, I knew you’d like it ! After all, I know your tastes very well.
Speaker : Oh, you have a bit of cake on your cheek.
Speaker (amused) : You can be quite clumsy sometimes. Here, let me help you get that off.
[Speaker moves closer to the Listener, removes the bit of cake, and eats it]
Speaker (innocently) : Why are you looking at me like that ? You know you shouldn't waste food, even if it was on your face. That's why I had to eat it.
(…)

Speaker (leaning in) : Did I make you uncomfortable by doing that ?
Speaker : Not at all ? Your expression says otherwise though... You're really blushing, you know.
[Listener pushes the Speaker, fabric rustling]

Speaker : Haha, calm down ! If you keep fidgeting like that, you'll draw even more attention to us.
Speaker : Well, even without that, we can't really say we're inconspicuous.
Speaker : I mean, I'm still quite noticeable with my horns. Perhaps I should make them disappear for now.
[He makes them disappear]

Speaker (sarcastic) : There, done. Wouldn't want to scare these ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker : Yes, yes, I know, I promised to behave myself tonight. I'll keep my word, I promise.

Speaker : Speaking of promises, didn't the prince tell you he would be here tonight to discuss funding ?
Speaker : Yet I don't see him... Has that coward backed out ?
(Listener makes a remark)

Speaker : Oh, now that you mention it, I can see him.
Speaker (mocking) : Ohh, so Mr. Prince is still under his father's thumb. What a loser.
(…)

Speaker : What... What are you doing ? Do you want to go talk to him ?
Speaker : Why ? Is he incapable of mingling with the "commoners" ? Is mister too precious to make an appearance ?
(Listener gets upset)

Speaker : Tss, whatever, do as you please. I'll stay here waiting.
Speaker : But hurry, I already don't feel very comfortable here, I'd rather not be alone for too long.
(…)

Speaker (to himself, feeling a pang of jealousy) : Who does he think he is, monopolizing their attention like that ?
Speaker : And why do they want to talk to him so much ? This man is nothing special, he's bland and arrogant.
(…)

Speaker (to himself, realizing his own feelings) : Wait. Why does this situation bother me so much ?
Speaker (trying to find an excuse) : I... I know. I must be feeling this way because the atmosphere of this place is getting to me. It's overwhelming, and I'm not used to it. That's all.
[Speaker looks around]

Speaker : Anyway, the other guests seem more at ease.
Speaker : Now that I notice it, there are quite a few couples here... They must be looking forward to the dance later.
(…)

Speaker : Maybe I should offer to dance with them tonight... I would love to be able to hold them in my arms, swaying to the music... Just the two of us.
Speaker : But th-this would be purely professional, of course. To strengthen our bonds as colleagues. Ye-yeah, I should ask them.
(…)

Speaker : Well, for that to happen, they would have to hurry back first. At the moment, the prince doesn't seem to want to let them go.
[Familiar starts getting more and more frustrated]

Speaker (frustrated) : Is this prince stupid or what ? Doesn't he see that it's because of him they don't dare to leave ? He's really unbearable, clinging to them like a parasite !
Speaker (exasperated) : With his arrogant air, he must think he's above everyone just because he wears a crown and a few jewels. It's pathetic !

Speaker (getting angrier) : And all these nobles... They're here strutting around like peacocks, without caring about anything other than themselves.
Speaker (getting more and more agitated) : Ok, I've had enough of this charade. I'm going to go myself and put an end to this little masquerade so I can bring my witch/wizard/mage back here.
(Listener returns quickly to Speaker)

Speaker (suddenly calming down) : Oh, they're finally back.
Speaker (to the Listener) : Hmm... Welcome back.
(…)

Speaker : So uh... What did you talk about ?
Speaker (not convinced) : You just discussed the money needed for your research ? Are you sure ? It seemed like you talked for a long time for it to be just that.
(…)

Speaker : Alright, if you say so.
Speaker : Well, now that you're back, we can enjoy the party a bit.
[Ballroom music playing]

Speaker (trying to open up) : I... I was wondering... Well... Uh...
Speaker : You... You don't have to say yes, but would you consider dancing with me ?
(…)
Speaker : You were going to suggest the same thing ? Great, I really wanted to-
Speaker (catching himself) : I mean... uh yeah, I'm fine with dancing with you,

Speaker (moving closer to the Listener) : So... would you grant me this dance ?
Speaker (chuckles) : Well, I'm delighted.
[They step onto the dance floor]

Speaker : Now, place your hand on my shoulder. Yes, like that.
Speaker : As for me... Hm... I'll need to hold you by the waist. I hope that's alright with you.
Speaker : Perfect. Let's begin, then.
[They start to dance]

Speaker : Hey, are you embarrassed or something ? No ? Then why are you avoiding my gaze ?
Speaker : After all, I'm your dance partner right now, you shouldn't take your eyes off me
(…)

Speaker (teasingly) : Oh ? Does the idea of dancing with me make you uncomfortable ? Being in close proximity like this ?
Speaker (contentedly) : It doesn't really bother you ? Well, then stop averting your eyes and look at me.
(…)

Speaker : Hm ? Surprised that I can dance ? Well, it's something I've grown accustomed to.
Speaker : Back where I come from, we had many festivities like this. I received training to perform various dances to entertain my admirers.
(…)

Speaker : Yes, my admirers. Allow me to remind you that I hail from a rather renowned demon lineage.

Speaker (mischievously) : I had quite a following, if you must know...
Speaker (amused) : Oh, did I imagine it, or did you just furrow your brow ?
[He moves closer]

Speaker : Could it be that you're feeling a bit envious, perhaps ?
Speaker (lightly chuckling) : Hey, no need to look like that. You know you're the only one for me. I have no interest in dancing with anyone else...
(…)

Speaker (once again jealous) : Well, unfortunately, I can't say the same about you.
Speaker : Yes, you. Do you think I didn't notice the looks you and the Prince were exchanging earlier ?
(…)

Speaker (more coldly) : Oh, am I just imagining things ? Really ? Because that's not how it seemed to me.
Speaker (now more serious) : I know what I see. Don't tell me I'm wrong.
[Speaker grips the Listener more firmly]

Speaker : You can try to deny it all you want, but I can see what's going on. You can't say that the Prince is not fascinated by you.
Speaker : And don't tell me it's just politeness or protocol. I know attraction when I see it.
(…)

Speaker (more softly) : Listen, I... I don't want to argue with you. But I can't ignore this. Even if you don't feel love for the prince, he, on the other hand, seems quite taken with you.
Speaker : Plus, I'm not blind, you know. I can see that you're troubled. Don't you have something to tell me ?
(Listener explains)

Speaker (shocked) : What ?
Speaker : The prince... He asked you to come and live at the palace ?
Speaker (speaking loudly) : That bastard ! Who does he think he is ?
(The speaker almost shouts, and the dancing and music stop)

Speaker : Oops... I think I spoke too loudly.
Speaker : Everyone's looking at us now.
(The listener grabs the familiar, the fabric wrinkles)

Speaker : Hey, what are you doing ?
Speaker : You want to come out and talk ? But I...
Speaker (resigning) : Okay... I guess I've done enough anyway.

[They step out onto a balcony, surrounded by the sounds of the night]
Speaker : Look, I already know what's on your mind...
(…)

Speaker (awkwardly) : I apologize for my outburst. I shouldn't have let my emotions get the better of me.
Speaker : But seeing him so close to you earlier, and when you said he asks you to move to the palace... It just threw me off.
[He moves closer to Listener]

Speaker : I understand it's not my place to dictate where you go, and I'll stand by you no matter what. But... I'm afraid of losing you.
Speaker : Our connection means everything to me... You're my all word, you know.
(…)
Speaker (a bit surprised) : You… you don't intend to leave ?
Speaker : Well, it seems I worked myself up for nothing yet again... I apologize.
(…)

Speaker : You know, I truly appreciate having you around. And... I don't want you to go away from me.
[Listener kisses the Familiar's cheek]

Speaker (surprised) : Uh, what's with the sudden kiss ?
Speaker : No, no, it's fine, but what prompted it all of a sudden ?
(…)

Speaker : Me too... you are so important to me. More than I can express in words.
Speaker : And despite all the chaos, dancing with you was the highlight of the evening.
(…)

Speaker : So, should we return to the ball ?
Speaker : Well, you're right. Given the commotion I caused, we can't just go back as if nothing happened.
(…)

Speaker : And you seem tired as well. Perhaps it's best we head home.
(…)

Speaker : Come on, let's go home now
(End)

2024.05.20 01:19 Adorable_Mix_4362 Code P0420 on my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid

So like the title says, I've got a code P0420 on my Camry. This light has been on for quite some time despite some attempts to fix it (i.e., pouring CataClean into the gas tank, light is still on). I've been trying to figure out solutions before I just jump straight to the fix of replacing the converters, but I'm not sure how to figure it out. The guy at my local O'Reilly's said that if the engine hasn't ever misfired (I think the indication of that is not starting? but I don't really know cars at all), or I don't smell rotten eggs, I shouldn't jump straight to that. I've never heard alarming noises, never had weird smells, never had problems with it starting up, never had weird jerking motions, car has never been out of my control, my only indication is that light. Is there any way I can figure out what's causing the issue before I jump to lengthy and expensive repairs? Any suggestions will help!

2024.05.20 01:18 Redox_1995_OG I Am Sorry

Alright, this time I ain't gon accuse anyone of anything, I'm simply here to apologize to all those that have been misjudged or hurt by me.
I've been very harsh to many players, and all those I thought were cheaters when they were just victims of a bad community. This shi t twisted my train of thoughts because I had been sticking to the fact that players like me don't lag or have delay, so others are all supposed to be like this, I thought that they were using some sort of program to cause that delay and exploit that to win games. It turned out it wasn't them, and they are all decent players and would play probably be much better if they didn't have lag issues.
I should be grateful that I'm not impacted by that and that I get to play 90 percent of my games smooth and fast, many of you would pay for that to happen. Even when I play against those who have lagging issues, or when it lags here and there, I will from now on take into account that it's a server issue and that it has nothing to do with the player I'm playing against. And we all should adapt to this, it's no one's fault, these players are not cheaters and they all wish they were able to play under better circumstances.
Which is why, I sincerely apologize to the following people: Hanngol, Abdawi, Ackeepcl00, Xramii, Magon, and many others that I thought were cheaters, these players are actually great, and they deserve to be ranked on top of the list.
I'm someone who often lands on the top 10 list. I win most of my games, I lose some. Football is a game of uncertainty, losing a game doesn't mean the other player is better than you, and it also doesn't mean that you're better than them. Sometimes you beat a top 100 player easily then you struggle with someone who's ranked way down in division 3. And this right here proves a point, that football is not about skills only, it's actually a game of strategy and adaptation.
We also have grudges against those that play defensively, or those that spam the through passing, or those that hold the ball and play in ways we call ''toxic'' ..etc etc because it's the nature of us refusing to accept others. People have different minds, approaches and strategies. Just because someone doesn't play offensively like you doesn't mean they're bad, or just because they chose to play defensively it doesn't mean they're cowards. As long as rules are not broken, it's only the final score that determines the winner of the match. We're not playing martial arts, we're playing a game where losing is part of the game. So I invite you all to stop being toxic to these people, matter of fact it's a new opportunity for you and them to learn, to have a new challenge and to enjoy the game. This game was created for us to enjoy, if you choose to be toxic towards others, you end up hurting yourself and killing the fun of your OWN game.
We're not the enemy here, we're all playing a game that's still in the early stages of developing. Konami is the only thing that needs to be blamed here. We're all punishing the wrong person. If not all these players playing this game, this game wouldn't exist, you wouldn't even find someone to play this game with. We're simply the essence of this thing, without us, there would be no competition.
In my life, I learned that it's not bad to concede and admit your own faults and wrong doings. You only get to make yourself less of a man when you know you're wrong, but you choose to overlook that and keep walking down that path. A real man is a man that is not afraid of anything, he only fears letting himself down and breaking his own principles. I'm sorry to everyone that's been hurt by me, I say that as a man and I expect each one of you to take it as a man.

PLEASE help me recreate these donuts!
These are locally made protein donuts that I have been trying to recreate for so long now I’m at my wits end.
They do not publish any ingredients, but I called the store and they confirmed they include almond, coconut (they taste like they have shredded coconut), milk, and eggs, and they must also have some kind of protein powder to achieve those macros.
I know this is a long shot but it would really help if anyone has any idea. I have tried lots of online recipes to no avail.

2024.05.20 01:14 Ilisanthecreator Hard stuck at 58 eggs - non guide tips?

I'm hard stuck at 58 eggs, in the last 10 hours (of 44) I've found: >! seven rabbits, skeleton fish boss, decorations for the house (pheasant and dog), pedometer, fast travel codes for “donut” and lower fast travel room and multiple new shortcuts !< but I can't for the life of me find another egg.
I have all the tools, obviously post credits, all 3 recesses opened. I was especially pissed with >! UV light !< as it promised useful hints, but every time I see an egg icon, it turns out to be a previously found one. I religiously use the top in every room and ping remote like crazy, but no luck yet.
I really don't want to use guides, as I figured almost all of the game's puzzles without any help or with slight nudging in the right direction (except for the fish in the fast travel room, but that helped a lot later on).
So, could anyone please share any helpful strategies besides “use a guide” or “keep searching”? If it were just one or two, I would probably think it's an extra hard unbearable puzzle and cave in to spoilers, but 7 is kinda a lot, so I feel like I'm missing something more fundamental.

Introduction

Feeling isolated or disconnected at work can be a daunting and challenging experience. It's a common issue that many employees face, and it can have a significant impact on not only their personal well-being but also their professional success. When we feel isolated, it can lead to decreased motivation, low productivity, and a general sense of dissatisfaction with our jobs.
The importance of feeling included and connected in the workplace cannot be overstated. It fosters a sense of belonging, boosts morale, and encourages collaboration and teamwork. When employees feel valued and part of a supportive community, they are more likely to be engaged, creative, and committed to their work.
This article aims to provide practical tips to help employees overcome feelings of isolation and cultivate a sense of inclusion within their work environment. By implementing these strategies, individuals can strengthen their connections with colleagues, build meaningful relationships, and ultimately thrive in their professional endeavors.

Tip 1: Communicate Openly with Colleagues

Initiate Conversations and Small Talk

One of the simplest yet most effective ways to combat feelings of isolation is to initiate conversations and engage in small talk with colleagues. Don't be afraid to strike up a friendly chat during breaks, in the hallway, or even during meetings. Small talk can help break the ice and create opportunities for deeper connections.

Participate in Team Meetings and Discussions

Make it a point to actively participate in team meetings and discussions. Share your thoughts, ideas, and feedback openly. By contributing to the conversation, you not only make your presence known but also demonstrate your value to the team. This can help foster a sense of belonging and inclusion.

Share Ideas and Feedback

Sharing your ideas and feedback with colleagues can be a powerful way to assert your presence and establish yourself as a valuable team member. Don't be afraid to speak up and contribute your unique perspectives. Your insights and opinions can spark meaningful discussions and help create an environment of open communication and inclusion.

Tip 2: Participate in Team Activities

Join Team-Building Activities and Social Events

Participating in team-building activities and social events can be an excellent way to connect with colleagues on a more personal level. These activities provide opportunities to interact with coworkers outside of the traditional work setting, allowing you to build stronger bonds and foster a sense of camaraderie.

Benefits of Participating in Informal Gatherings

Informal gatherings, such as after-work happy hours or team lunches, can be invaluable for breaking down barriers and fostering a more inclusive work environment. These casual settings allow for natural conversations and the opportunity to get to know your colleagues on a more personal level, which can help strengthen relationships and foster a sense of belonging.

Foster Team Bonding

Team bonding activities, such as outdoor adventures, volunteering events, or even friendly competitions, can be a fun and engaging way to bring colleagues together. These shared experiences create memories and inside jokes, which can help build a strong sense of camaraderie and cohesion within the team.

Tip 3: Build Relationships with Coworkers

Get to Know Coworkers Better

Make an effort to get to know your coworkers better by engaging in conversations beyond work-related topics. Ask about their interests, hobbies, and personal lives. Showing genuine interest in others can help establish deeper connections and create a more inclusive environment.

Have Lunch Together

Suggest having lunch together with colleagues from time to time. This informal setting can provide an opportunity to connect on a more personal level and discuss topics outside of work. It's a simple yet effective way to build stronger relationships and foster a sense of belonging.

Form or Join Interest Groups or Clubs

Many workplaces offer opportunities to form or join interest groups or clubs based on shared hobbies or passions. Participating in these groups can help you connect with colleagues who share similar interests, creating a natural bond and a sense of community within the workplace.

Tip 4: Seek Out a Mentor

The Role of a Mentor

Having a mentor can be invaluable in navigating the complexities of the workplace and overcoming feelings of isolation. A mentor can provide guidance, support, and valuable insights based on their own experiences. They can act as a sounding board, offer advice, and help you develop both professionally and personally.

Finding and Approaching Potential Mentors

Look for individuals within your organization who have achieved success and possess qualities you admire. Approach them respectfully and express your interest in learning from their experiences. Be open to their feedback and guidance, and demonstrate a willingness to put in the effort required to grow and develop.

Long-Term Benefits of Having a Mentor

Building a strong mentorship relationship can have long-lasting benefits beyond overcoming feelings of isolation. A mentor can help you identify and pursue career opportunities, navigate workplace dynamics, and develop valuable skills. Additionally, having a trusted advisor can provide a sense of support and encouragement, which can be invaluable in times of uncertainty or challenge.

Tip 5: Take Initiative in Projects

Take on New Responsibilities and Volunteer

Don't be afraid to step up and take on new responsibilities or volunteer for projects that interest you. By actively contributing to team efforts and taking initiative, you can gain recognition and build stronger connections with colleagues who appreciate your dedication and hard work.

Being Proactive Builds Connections

Being proactive and taking the lead on projects or tasks can help you establish yourself as a valuable team member. It demonstrates your commitment and eagerness to contribute, which can foster respect and admiration from your colleagues. This, in turn, can lead to stronger relationships and a greater sense of inclusion within the team.

Contribute Actively to Team Efforts

Whenever possible, find ways to contribute actively to team efforts. Offer your skills, knowledge, and insights to help move projects forward. By being an engaged and collaborative team member, you can build trust and rapport with colleagues, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and supportive work environment.

Tip 6: Utilize Company Resources

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Support Networks

Many companies offer employee resource groups (ERGs) or support networks designed to foster a sense of community and inclusion among employees. These groups often bring together individuals with shared backgrounds, interests, or experiences, providing a safe space for networking, mentorship, and personal and professional development.

Mental Health Resources

If feelings of isolation are impacting your mental well-being, don't hesitate to seek support from any available mental health resources provided by your company. These resources can include counseling services, employee assistance programs (EAPs), or mental health awareness initiatives. Prioritizing your mental health can help you better manage feelings of isolation and cultivate a more positive outlook.

Training and Development Programs

Participating in training and development programs offered by your company can be an excellent way to expand your knowledge, enhance your skills, and connect with colleagues who share similar professional interests. These programs can provide opportunities for collaboration, networking, and learning from industry experts, all while fostering a sense of growth and inclusion within the organization.

Tip 7: Practice Active Listening

The Significance of Active Listening

Active listening is a crucial skill for building strong relationships and fostering a sense of inclusion. By truly listening to your colleagues, you demonstrate respect, empathy, and a genuine interest in understanding their perspectives and experiences. This can help create an environment of trust and open communication, which is essential for overcoming feelings of isolation.

How to Listen Effectively

Effective listening involves more than just hearing the words spoken. It requires focused attention, maintaining eye contact, and providing non-verbal cues that show you are engaged and present in the conversation. Avoid interrupting or forming responses while the other person is speaking, and instead, ask clarifying questions to ensure you fully understand their point of view.

Enhance Communication and Trust

By practicing active listening, you can enhance communication and build trust with your colleagues. When individuals feel heard and understood, they are more likely to open up and share their thoughts and feelings, creating an environment conducive to meaningful connections and a sense of inclusion.

Tip 8: Maintain a Positive Attitude

The Power of a Positive Mindset

Maintaining a positive attitude can be a powerful tool in overcoming feelings of isolation at work. A positive mindset can help you reframe challenges as opportunities, appreciate the supportive relationships you have, and approach situations with resilience and optimism.

Strategies for Staying Positive

Cultivating a positive attitude can be achieved through various practices, such as practicing gratitude, engaging in mindfulness exercises, and focusing on personal growth and development. Additionally, surrounding yourself with positive and supportive individuals can help reinforce a positive outlook and provide encouragement during difficult times.

Impact on Work Relationships and Inclusion

A positive attitude can have a ripple effect on your work relationships and overall sense of inclusion. When you exude positivity and optimism, you become more approachable and attractive to others, making it easier to connect and build meaningful relationships with colleagues. Furthermore, a positive mindset can help you handle challenges with resilience and grace, fostering respect and admiration from those around you.

Conclusion

Feeling isolated or disconnected at work can be a demoralizing experience, but it is a challenge that can be overcome with the right strategies and mindset. By implementing the tips outlined in this article, you can take proactive steps toward cultivating a sense of inclusion and belonging within your work environment.
Remember, building meaningful connections and fostering a supportive community takes time and effort. It's important to be patient and persistent in your efforts to reach out, communicate openly, and participate in team activities and initiatives. Seek out mentors, take on new responsibilities, and actively listen to your colleagues – these actions can make a significant difference in combating feelings of isolation.
Embrace a positive attitude and surround yourself with individuals who uplift and encourage you. Recognize that overcoming isolation is a journey, and celebrate small victories along the way. Each step you take, no matter how small, contributes to creating a more inclusive and supportive work environment for yourself and those around you.
Ultimately, feeling included and valued at work is not just beneficial for personal well-being but also for professional success. When employees feel connected and engaged, they are more motivated, productive, and likely to contribute their best efforts to their work. By prioritizing inclusion and connection, you can not only enhance your own work experience but also contribute to the overall success and positive culture of your organization.
So, take the initiative and implement these tips. Remember, you have the power to create meaningful change and cultivate a sense of belonging in your work environment. Embrace the journey towards inclusion, and enjoy the rewards of feeling truly connected and valued as part of a supportive team.

2024.05.20 00:32 TheLastPiMaster A Deep Dive into the Problems with Endless and How to Fix Them

As the shiny weekend comes to a close, I and I'm sure many others have played a lot of endless the last few days. While I do love this game, I can't help but notice how much of a drag endless is. Endless is basically just one big gambling simulator where you get dopamine when you get a shiny or legendary and it keeps you playing long enough to get the next hit. As someone who enjoys both making and balancing games, I wanted to take some time to dive into why endless has the problems it does and how they can be fixed. My hope in sharing these ideas is that endless will eventually be revamped into something more fun in the long term instead of just a shiny grind. So strap in as we discuss the problems with endless and how to fix them.

Part 1: Why play RogueLites?

I think the first step to understanding what is wrong with endless is to understand why we are even playing this game in the first place. I hear the terms roguelite and roguelike used interchangeably a lot so I wanted to quickly address the difference between them. The short of it is roguelikes complete reset your progress in between runs while roguelites have some progress carry over. This puts PokeRogue firmly in the roguelite category, since you can unlock new starters, and as such, I will be operating under the assumption that having progress carry over between runs is important to the game for the remainder of this post.
As for what makes roguelites fun, I think there are a few different factors. First and foremost is replayability. Since a run is never the same as any other, the genre has infinite replays built in, so long as you don't get bored of the core gameplay mechanics. However, the enemies and rewards you get during each run are not the only thing that can change between runs.
This leads me to my second point which is the fun of trying new builds. Most roguelites have a wide variety of weapons and approaches to progressing that can either be chosen at the start or unlocked during the run. Because of the random nature of the genre, even similar builds will fluctuate run to run and trying to get your build to function perfectly like you want it to is a fun challenge. You may have an idea of what you want to use but then you get an item that changes the way your build works and so next time you play this build, you actively seek out this item because it was a cool adaptation. Being able to not only try, but succeed, with a variety of strategies and builds is incredibly important to the long term fun and replayability of roguelites.
The final factor in why roguelites are fun is because you can constantly push for a new record. This is specifically something unique to endless. The game can never truly be beaten. You as the player set a goal for yourself and compete against that goal, trying to achieve it. When you eventually do, you set a new goal and push for that one. These goals can be personal to you, like trying to reach a certain round or seeing how far you can progress with a specific build, or they can be more competitive, like trying to push for a record in the highest round ever achieved.
Roguelites are addicting and fun because you never truly beat them, you just find new ways to play them. Now that we understand a bit about why roguelites are fun, let's look at PokeRogue to see how it matches up.

Part 2: Endless is a Solved Game

First, let's look at the good parts of endless. Endless has good rewards for playing it. As you go deeper into endless, you get more and more rare starters. Right now, starters are the only thing that carries over between runs so endless is the best way to progress your account. In theory, this should increase replayability as you can do an endless run, get new starters, do a run with your new starters, rinse and repeat. In practice though this simply isn't true.
While the progression endless gives your account is good, it's ultimately pretty meaningless and most of the actual experience of playing endless isn't fun at all. When you get deep into an endless run, which is arguably where most endless players will aim for since otherwise you would play classic, the game becomes stagnant. You one shot everything or you get one shot. Type matchups don't matter. Stats don't matter. Nothing matters except being able to oneshot the opponent through whatever tokens or abilities they have. This isn't a problem in itself but if we look a little deeper it becomes one.
There's nothing wrong with different builds simply being different ways to oneshot. What is an issue though is when the core mechanics of Pokemon stop mattering and there is only one way to win battles. Type matchups are arguably the most important mechanics in Pokemon, right after catching new Pokemon. The fact that these eventually are rendered useless means that there's no reason for this to be a Pokemon game in the first place. Additionally, even just having a really strong Pokemon that can cut through everything with strong STAB doesn't work because the only late game strategy that works is fixed damage and sturdy. When you finally reach rounds that push the limits of where you've been before, these should be the rounds that your build is online and being tested. Instead, you are forced to transition to a Pokemon with sturdy and metal burst or fixed damage like salt cure plus soak. There is no room for trying different builds to push boundaries because the game has been solved. We know what the best and only strategy is and if you aren't using it, you can't compete.
The fact that only one strategy is viable means that any progress you make between runs doesn't matter either. Why use new starters when you're just gonna end up using gargancl with salt cure or metal burst blissey? This means that the only thing that endless is actually good for, making your account stronger, is made irrelevant by the same mode. This is the biggest problem endless has but there are a few smaller ones I'd like to quickly address.

Part 3: Smaller Endless Problems

I'll try to keep this section brief and run through these problems quickly.
First, generic encounters are too time consuming. There is no reason the random, non-boss Pidgeott should ever take more than 5 seconds to defeat. Generic encounters serve the purpose of giving you a few rewards to make you stronger before the next major fight. Endure tokens waste so much time. If I'm overkilling this raticate by 5000%, I shouldn't have to sit through 30 seconds of dialogue telling me it endured the hit, raised all its stats, flinched, and then need to select my move again. Even boss encounters don't need endure tokens. They are already gated by segmented health bars. These are actually good and mean you have to think about how to get through them. Why then, does the boss get to live with 1 hp when I've finally overcome it? Simply put endure tokens need to go.
Second, boss battles are too repetitive. I don't mean pokemon labeled "boss" but instead the bosses you encounter every 50 floors. These should be the rounds that test your build but instead, it's the same as every other "boss" you encounter in the run. These rounds need to be made harder and all other rounds should be easier, that way there's a clear distinction between fodder and challenge. The Eternatus encounters are actually pretty good from a challenge perspective since they regularly take a while to beat. If the 50 floor encounters were more like this, and the Eternatus encounters were varied with some other Pokemon so you need multiple strategies instead of just a fairy/steel to wall it, the boss fights would be pretty good.
Finally, if you can't oneshot an enemy, it shouldn't be able to oneshot you. Essentially, bosses need to not be able to be oneshot. What this means though is that you will take hits and in that case, you need to be able to survive them. Damage Reduction tokens are actually ok but damage multipliers just make every move a oneshot. Boss fights should play out more like VGC matches, where there's constant switching of your Pokemon to have an advantageous type matchup. Your switches need to be able to survive hits when they come in, or else you need a way to correctly predict when you can make a switch for free to get a better Pokemon out.
I could go more in depth on all these problems and maybe I will sometime but for now just know they are there and will influence what the fixes need to fix.

Part 4: The Fixes

Now that we understand what's wrong with endless, let's talk about fixing it.
The first and easiest change is that endure tokens need to be removed. This speeds up the game and gets you into boss fights faster. Simple, done, this one change makes the game so much more fun and less tedious.
For some bigger changes, let's take a look at the rest of the tokens. Status tokens mean nothing since your Pokemon will always have infinite lum berries once you get 3 berry pouches and a mini black hole. Fusion tokens are cool. These throw wrenches at you and are fun and should stay. Damage reduction tokens are ok. These tokens prevent you from oneshotting the boss and as we discussed before, that's good. Damage multipliers increase the problem of oneshots though and for that reason need to either be heavily nerfed or removed. If my defensive Archaludon is getting onehshot by vine whip, that's a problem. Finally, recovery tokens are alright. The make it so you can't just stall out a boss completely. You have to constantly be damaging them so they don't heal back to full. I would limit these though to heal a smaller amount. Something like 1/16 of max HP every turn should be the maximum that recovery tokens can do. This is the same as leftovers in the main series and that is one of the best items for survivability in the entire game.
I would make the following changes to tokens: remove endure tokens, remove status tokens, remove damage multiplier tokens, heavily nerf recovery tokens, keep fusion tokens, and keep damage reduction tokens. Also, remove all tokens from any Pokemon without a boss health bar. You may think this is too big a nerf to enemies but in conjuction with this, I think the mini black hole also needs to be changed or removed. With status tokens gone, it's more important than ever that status is meaningful when it is inflicted. Without the mini black hole, you need to actually think about what to do about status instead of just letting your infinite lum berries solve it for you. Maybe now you need to spend some of your post encounter rewards on lum berries or items other than rare candies since you can't just steal them off wild pokemon for free. Of course, things like magician and thief still exist but these are ok because they are niche. The grip claw is also alright since it isn't guaranteed to steal something, it just gives you a little more breathing room.
Next up on the list is boss fights. For this section, I'm only referring to the every 50 floor ones. The token changes I believe would solve a lot of the problems with this fights but there are two big changes I would implement. First, these fights should all be 2v1 double battles like the final battle of classic. This gives room for more strategy and makes switching out more of a viable option if you can predict which slot the AI will target. Second change is to increase the movepools of all bosses. This may be controversial but I think bosses should not be limited to 4 moves. Bosses having a wider variety of options makes them much more formidable and means you need to prepare for more threats. As for what these movepools would be, I would say any egg moves or level up moves should be fair game. Maybe some tms as well but those would need to be hand selected which is harder to implement.
The last few changes I'd add focuses on making starter choice important and allowing for cooler builds. There needs to be more variety in held items. The main series has so many cool options to draw from and adding them makes for a lot of variety in what a given pokemon can do. Imagine a Pokemon with sniper and 3 scope lenses to always crit. Or a Pokemon with a bunch of leftovers and rocky helmets and rough skin. In return for the wider variety, there would need to be some limit on how many non-berry, non-consumable held items a pokemon could have. Without a limit, the best strategy would still be to just stack all the items on one Pokemon and let it sweep. I think 20 would be a good place to start though this could be changed. It also adds an opportunity cost. Your sweeper can't also be tank with 3 leftovers because you need to use those item slots for offensive items.
Finally, I would add one new item to the game with a unique effect. Similar to the DNA splicers, this would allow you to combine two Pokemon to get a stronger one. The new item would be ability capsule and here's how it works. The ability capsule allows you to select a pokemon from your party, sacrificing said Pokemon and adding its ability to another Pokemon. The catch though is that the ability can only be added to a Pokemon that was selected as a starter for the run. Some abilities would have to be non-transferable like wonder guard or stance change but I think this goes a long way in making really cool combinations to aim for late game. It also makes your starter selection more important since you can think about what abilities you want to add to your starter later.

Conclusion and TL;DR

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. To those of you who just scrolled to the bottom, here's the TL;DR of changes
I want to be clear that I love this game and am not trying to be super negative. I just want to see it do well months and years from now and believe these changes are the first step towards doing that. I have a lot more I could say but this post is already long so I'll leave it at that. If any devs happen to read this and want to hear more in depth explanation or thoughts on solutions to problems with the game, I'm happy to talk more. In the meantime, I'm gonna go back to my endless run and keep trying to get a shiny Rayquaza.
