How will we get people to do jobs without a financial insentive. To be clear im aware that in an anarchist society where you are not at risk or starving or homelessnes if you don't work. Im aware that a lot of jobs will be filled with people who do it for passion alone but what about the less desirable jobs that people don't want to or hate doing. What are the possible organisation methods that an anarchist society my employ to deal with such jobs. I was thinking that some jobs in the local community ( the ones required for maintaining it) could be rotated between members, same for other organisations you may be a part of. I know i may have answered my own question but can someone please elaborate in greater detail on how such a system would work or provide alternative ideas?

Mojang has time and time again taken features and changed them in a way no one really asked for, like the piston changes, mace nerf, etc and it really does not feel like they are taking feedback from the games playerbase, only themselves. Part of that, I think is due to two things:

1. The feedback site is literal garbage
   • The feedback site was meant to be the official replacement to minecraftsuggestions which, in its heyday, was a hub for real constructive criticisms and in depth suggestions. However, at some point I think Reddit changed its TOS and Mojang had to cover its bases and stop taking suggestions directly from Reddit. Their solution was to make the feedback site.
   • Except... the Feedback site is literally unusable. The feedback site ironically discourages actually good feedback due to four reasons:
     • Really small word count limits and Image limits restrict the ability to properly develop ideas on the site, thus forcing shallower suggestions (omg moar animals pls!) instead of suggestions that would fundementally improve the game, simply because they aren't allowed to be complex enough or explained in detail. As a result, you get a lot of suggestions of shallow additions like adding more animals instead of suggestions on Cooking, Minecarts/Travel, and the End, which all really need attention.

     • No repeats is stupid. Two people can have the same idea but vastly different implementation, but because they're similar, the mods will take it down, limiting every other suggestion after it to be a comment of the first one. 2. The refusal to let mods be integrated in the game again
   • The suggestion thing would be less of an issue if modding being integrated hadn't also effectively been killed. Historically a number of features from the game have come from mods and ushered a really good relationship between Mojang and the community. However, a change in leadership had them switch stances and now state they will NEVER add any elements from a mod again. "[We will not be adding] Other people's mods (blocks, items, tools, etc.): While we have taken inspiration from community mods in the past [...] we are no longer adding community-made mods to the base game of Minecraft." This is terrible because of two things:
     • People with good suggestions are discouraged from making mods of it illustrating their idea, because once it is in a mod, it will literally NEVER be in the game. The aspect of making something to show off your idea in a way that isn't limited by the restrictions of that godawful suggestion site dooms it from ever being in the game. Is that not fucked up?? As a result, not only are suggestions not being made into quality mods, but mods are also just not being made as much anymore out of fear that they will never be canon, unless they are explicitly intended to not be.
     • Bedrock, their biggest platform, cannot play mods. So certain enjoyable features in the game are literally never going to be in the game because someone unofficial made it first? Weird.
     • They have also literally poached modders from the community, effectively leaving those mods to die. Obviously they picked up two longtime modders responsible for Tropicraft and the Aether, thus not only preventing those from ever being in the game, but also literally killing the mod unless someone else picks it up.

Okay, my rant is over. But seriously, literally just host an actual community led minecraftsuggestions on an official website and let it be run by the mods from the sub. It would make things so much easier.

Hello all, I'm a younger guy looking to get in with the city as an Operator in the wastewater plant. However, there are two different positions and I'm not sure what the differences are. Maybe someone can explain. I should mention I have 0 experience working with wastewater or public utilities, but have worked seasonally for the city last year so I have a foot in the door. So I'm not sure which would be a better fit. The water reclamation position has a higher salary range and pay more to start, but looks to have more responsibilities.
First position: "Water Reclamation Facility Operator I"
TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Takes readings and records all gauges, meters, and indicators of water, gas and power flow. Makes required adjustments as directed.
• Keeps the facility clean and in top operating condition. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment or circuits as directed.
• Operates chemical feeding equipment and other mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, compressors, chlorinators, digesters, and emergency generators. Identifies and reports operational and equipment issues to supervisor.
• Checks all mechanisms in process including but not limited pumps, filters, digesters, aerators, screens, rag rakes, grit chambers, compressors, blowers, boilers, generators, chemical feed systems, basins, clarifiers, thickeners, methane gas systems, augers, and associated equipment.

I'll probably apply to both but maybe someone here can differentiate what I'd be doing and the expectations between the two? The waste-water (second one) seems more manual labor heavy, and desires but doesn't require a CDL? Any advice would be great.

Going to start off by saying this is completely my fault but hopefully this will serve as a cautionary reminder to others!
I sold an item on eBay, a mattress, which needed to be collected.
I always give an option for cash on collection, it’s the only time I really get cash and is useful for me to have.
The buyer asked for my address and number, I gave the address but declined phone number as I prefer to keep it all on eBay messaging system. I’m responsive on there and prefer not to give a stranger my contact number that links into my personal life. We agreed cash on collection.
Part of the listing description was for collection on day the auction ended as I would be away the following day and needed it gone before the new mattress delivery. Lo and behold, they didn’t collect on the day, giving some shitty excuse about no having transport. Frustrating but nothing I could really do at the time so I had to arrange for a friend to be at my flat the following day to give the buyer access for the item.
The buyer came the following day but on arrival he lied my friend saying that he had paid online. He left with the item. Unfortunately I was uncontactable at the time so my friend was left with a judgement call to make, she went with being a trusting person. Sad that faith in humanity wasn’t repaid!
The buyer has now stopped responding to any of my correspondence.
EBay support have refused to help as ‘I should not have given him the item before payment.’ What’s annoying is that they have also said there is nothing more they can do, including sharing account details with the police due to GDPR. I don’t know how accurate the eBay support person was but have a reported it as a theft to the police so hopefully a crime supersedes GDPR. However if eBay refuse to share information with the police I doubt they’ll push it further. Not exactly crime of the century.
EBay have also said they cannot put a strike or mark against his name as the transaction isn’t complete at their end. I can’t cancel and report for non payment as I don’t have item anymore. I can’t even leave negative feedback as its current status is still awaiting payment. The eBay support person understood the predicament but would only parrot there was nothing he could do.
It’s a loss of about £40, which is annoying for me but a good eBay lesson/reminder. Never give an address before payment and if you do, make sure you’re there to personally handle it or have someone on your behalf who is comfortable with following your instructions and challenging strangers!
TLDR: gave buyer my address before payment, agreed cash on collection. He picked item up, said he had paid online and vanished. eBay won’t help.

My pup never had full length teeth on her left side from the canine back. Her canine was short and her molars kinda look like puppy teeth (I’m certain they are her adult teeth). Today she tried to grab her ball and bit the chuck-it wand it was in instead. She yelped a little and started licking her mouth, which was bleeding. I gently touched her short canine tooth and it was very loose. My plan was to call the vet tomorrow to make an appointment for extraction. Fast forward a few hours. The tooth is gone. I believe she swallowed it because she had a little coughing fit. She seems fine. Eating, drinking, and playing as she normally does. Of course, I’m still going to take her to the vet. On this sub and the DryEyes sub one often reads someone posting they have been told by an eye doctor that they have mild, medium or severe MGD. The whole business of having a stage system or grading scale for MGD is very complex. It can be subjective, objective or a combination of both. It also can include the judgment of a Meibography tool. Indeed Meibography images can be read like an X-ray or MRI so we will have artificial intelligence reading them as they do now for X-rays or MRI.
Just give a look at the images on these studies to get a sense of the complexity:

One of the images in this study above has the following descriptors for glands: Distorted, Tortuous, Hooked, Drop Out, Shortened, Thickened, Thinned, Overlapping, Ghost, Tadpolling, Abnormal Gap, Fluffy Areas and No Extension to Lid Margin.

To be sure there are multiple systems for classifying Meibomian gland dysfunction. Here is one that is more subjective as follows:
A commonly grading system is by the International Workshop on Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. It divides MGD into four stages:
Stage 1 (Subclinical):
Symptoms: None or mild.
Clinical Signs: Early changes in gland secretion, such as turbid or mildly altered secretions.
Gland Imaging: Minimal or no gland dropout.

Stage 2 (Mild):
Symptoms: Mild to moderate discomfort, itching, or mild redness.
Clinical Signs: Increased viscosity of secretions, mild plugging of gland orifices.
Gland Imaging: Mild gland dropout, early structural changes.

Stage 3 (Moderate):

Another method relies on the percentage of glandular loss, usually as seen in a meibography that quantifies the damage as follows:

Stage 2: Between 26% and 50% loss of glandular tissue.
Stage 3: Between 51% and 75% loss of glandular tissue.
Stage 4: More than 75% loss of glandular tissue.
There is another grading or stage based approach that uses thirds as follows:
Mild MGD: Typically characterized by less than one-third of the total gland area showing loss or atrophy. Patients might experience mild symptoms, and management may be conservative.
Moderate MGD: Defined by gland loss ranging from one-third to two-thirds of the total gland area. Symptoms are more noticeable, and intervention might require more aggressive treatment strategies, such as prescription medications or advanced therapies like the device oriented therapies.
Severe MGD: In cases where more than two-thirds of the gland area is lost or shows atrophy. These patients often present with significant symptoms and may suffer from severe dry eye complications. Treatment for severe MGD may include even more intensive therapies and interventions.
Meibography is a process of taking images of the Meibomian glands. Various meibography tools, such as LipiScan, deliver detailed reports from the images they take, but they do not automatically assign a stage to the image. Instead, these tools provide crucial information that helps ophthalmologists in their clinical assessment and decision-making process.
While meibography tools provide detailed images and data, the interpretation and staging of MGD are done by the ophthalmologist based on a combination of:
Clinical Examination: Including slit-lamp examination, tear break-up time (TBUT), and ocular surface staining.
Patient Symptoms: Collected through standardized questionnaires (e.g., OSDI, DEQ).

I also think if I was seeing a doctor without a Meibography system in place that would be a major indicator to me that this doctor probably did not have a deep commitment to understanding and treating DED/MGD patients so I probably would be looking for an eye doctor who did have that tool.

2020 Forest River Wildwood X Lite 241QBXL
I purchased this RV new for $20,000, and it was in perfect condition until 2021.
Here's a detailed breakdown of its current condition:
Roof and Water Damage: After being exposed to heavy snow for several weekends in 2021, the RV developed a roof leak. Water damage is visible inside the wall where the queen bed used to be.
Interior Modifications:I removed the queen bed to create more open space. The pass-through storage underneath the bed is also removed.This led me to discovering the aforementioned water damage inside the front wall. I replaced the rotted studs in the front wall and closed it back up with tongue and groove paneling. The repair job was not professionally done and needs redoing, including the use of proper insulation.The wall is mostly closed up but not aesthetically finished.
Jackknife Sofa: I removed the uncomfortable jackknife sofa for more room, exposing the propane cabin heater, which has since stopped working. I think it's just a problem with the thermostat though.
Exterior Damage: The front external wall is dented.
Sewage System: The sewage output was broken and repaired by me, but the job was poorly executed.
Bathroom Leak: There appears to be a very slow water leak under the sink in the bathroom, under the floo4, but it's likely an easy fix.
Positive Aspects:Despite these issues, the RV's interior remains modern and attractive.
I replaced the built in furnishing with a fold out sofa and added an armchair as well.
I've also got a large lithium batter, inverter, and charger that is in perfect working order.
I've got an aftermarket back up camera.
There's a haulmaster storage platform on the back bumper.
I've got a hitch with sway bars which make towing a breeze...I pull it not problem with a 2015 v6 jeep grand cherokee.
I've got a brand new awning fabric ready to be installed.
This RV has potential but requires some attention and repairs to restore it to optimal condition.

I primarily work as a freelancer, so the hustle game is constant. I started a new part-time job last week that I think I'm going to like, but it's a lot to learn quickly. I also have a side business I'm starting with my mom that's exciting, but a shit ton of work to get going. I'm a pretty clean person, but my house is a disaster at the moment because of all the projects I'm working on. I'm also dealing with anxiety and a depressive episode that I can't seem to shake. All of this stuff is just building up and stressing me the fuck out daily.
BUT: I have a solid group of core friends, many of which I've been friends with since high school (I'm 35). I see them a couple times a week, and even through the social anxiety I'm comfortable with them and always happy when we spend time together. I'm also very close with my mom and siblings, and have two good bros (who will probably see this at some point) who I can talk to anything and everything about, and support me unconditionally through all of my ups and downs. I'm even still very close with my ex-wife, who is still my rock and my best friend. And I've got two dogs and a cat, who make me excited to come home every day.

Alright so I'm not as technically knowledgeable on the subject as others, but I do know some people (without a doubt here) who know some people who know some people who rob some information - Elon Musk is suing OpenAI for a breach of contract, essentially the company was a nonprofit and now it's got billions in the bank a la FIFA. The mainstream media touts the story as a lovers spat, a story of betrayal. What makes sense to me is that OpenAI made themselves and their tech available to the highest bidder (hedge fund?) and without this lawsuit the system will remain unregulated and removed from daily discussion. Lest we forget these are the same sidewinders that shorted Tesla and pushed a very narrow media narrative down our throats (sound familiar?). In The Pale King, David Foster Wallace described the mystique of the IRS relying on a lack of sex appeal. People don't inform themselves, not because they're incapable or the details are too difficult to understand - they don't inform themselves because it's boring. It's obvious somethings rotten in the system. It's sad how many people lose interest as soon as someone starts rattling off numbers and statistics. It's sadder knowing how many people have resigned themselves to knowing the game is rigged and there's nothing we can do about it.
What I'm saying is GME is a solid stock and I like it.

on occasion there is a very attractive woman that comes to the office. she was in a relationship with someone, but her partner had a secret affair with my coworker (my coworker didnt know it was an affair. they thought they met someone and ended things when they found out what was happening).
in the past, i have seen her get too close to another womans husband (she bent over to look at something on his computer and was practically in his lap. while i didnt want to escalate the wifes feelings, i did agree that what we saw was inappropriate and understood why she felt violated. the husband didnt move away. and when we walked in, this woman quickly straightened herself out.)
she hasnt done anything to me. but my husband along with his coworkers have this stupid crush on her. i am mostly upset with my husband: 1. he made a joke about her in front of me thinking i wouldnt see (his boss asked who this woman was. my husband said “[her name] from [her department]” while smiling and winking. i looked up and saw his grin. looked at his boss. his boss put his hands up as to show us he didnt want anything to do with this conversation and said “hahaha im happily married haha i dont care”. that night, i brought it up to my husband and he understood it was a bad joke. he was embarrassed by it and apologized. that was the end of it. 2. she has been coming around the office a ton and one guy has been talking to her a lot (he is single) and all the guys (including the boss mentioned above) have been saying things like “a girl like her” or talking about her in a “hubba hubba” way. like asking for details about how things are going with this guys pursuit of her.
i know i am jealous. i hate that this woman has a chokehold over him… at least thats how i see it. i know the other guys are in on this too, but i hate seeing my husband act like a thirsty dog from the sidelines for her.
anyways, she added them all to facebook. he hadnt seen her request (i know that because it was still highlighted)… i rejected it. i was jealous. i didnt want her on his personal facebook/in his life… but i shouldnt have done that. she added them all. i went on his phone today and saw that he searched her. thats how i know these idiots are going around jerking off about her adding them… but i feel bad that i rejected her on his account.
i am telling him what i did tonight. it was jealousy for me.
i am seeking advice on his behaviour though. it makes me (an also very attractive person) feel low about myself. i cant tell if this is normal guy behaviour or if i should be right to feel bad.
he is an otherwise amazing person. he just acts like an idiot sometimes. i am not divorcing him over this.
edit: i know what i did was wrong. it was pure jealousy. pure insecurity. i own that and the part where it was not my place to accept or reject the request.
edit 2: i want to suggest couples therapy to him so that he can understand my feelings on the matter + the background to my feelings as well as me hear him out about my actions.
i guess here is a list of what i am seeking from this post from anyone who comments: 1. has anyones spouse acting like mine has? 2. has anyone had feelings of jealousy and insecurity like me? how do you deal? 3. has anyone done couples therapy? what was the outcome?

TL;DR is this parts list good for a productivity PC? This is my first custom PC build and I would like to know if I made any serious errors or oversights.

I am building a PC to replace both my laptop and old desktop computer. I am an embedded systems engineer who runs a (very) small business on the side. I make music and videos both as a hobby and for marketing/promotion purposes. I recently got an i9-13900k (running Debian 12 with air cooling) at my day job and am blown away by the improved compile speeds. After taking an inventory of my current computers, I realized I am generations behind the curve, and I would like to upgrade to an everyday, multi-purpose workhorse. For this pc, my main use cases will be:
Development - Docker, VMs, KiCAD, Blender, C/C++ (embedded and VST), web development, Yocto embedded Linux builds, MS Office
Creative/Marketing - Ableton, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier
PC requirements:

• motherboard must have Thunderbolt 3 or above to connect to my audio interface
• must be as quiet as possible
• good performance in both productivity and creativity is a must
• some extra PCIe slots would be nice for a video capture card and/or future peripherals
• ideally less than $2k

Cooling configuration:
Top: 420mm Arctic Freezer III (exhaust)
Rear: 1x 140mm (exhaust)
Front: 3x 140mm (intake)
Bottom: 2x 140mm (intake)
Other details:

• I already have a 1TB 990 PRO and Quadro P620 that I can harvest from another computer
• why a Z690 over a Z790? 1) it is A LOT cheaper. 2) this MSI Z690 ACE somehow has Thunderbolt 4, wild! 3) The 14th gen intels will be the last LGA1700 chip, so why get a more expensive mobo if I can't re-use it in the future?
• I don't plan on overclocking for the last few percentages of performance - if a video render takes 12 minutes instead of 8 minutes at the expense of a more stable, cooler system, that is fine with me. I plan on setting the mobo to limit to intel recommendations.
