I do have new bugs now.

2024.05.04 17:58 2002LuvAbbaLuvU Idea: could virus analysis tools use local heuristical analysis/sandboxes plus artificial CNS (central nervous systems) to secure us? Concept allows full static analysis + sandbox + CNS = 1 second (approx) for each new executable.

With caches, this protects all launches, but past the first launch of a particular executable, the overhead reduces to less than 1 millisecond (just cost to lookup from localPassList.hashes)

Says is "work in progress", https://swudususuwu.substack.com/p/howto-produce-better-virus-scanners has newest of this.
The most simple virus analysis tools just use hashes/signatures to secure us (so can understand what more complex analysis would do, have put examples of hash/signature-based analysis):

Unknown if signatures have uses for passList. */ map bytes; /* Copies of all files the database has. Uses lots of space. Just populate this for signature synthesis and to train CNS. */ /* Used `std::string` for binaries (versus `vector`) because: * "If you are going to use the data in a string like fashon then you should opt for std::string as using a std::vector may confuse subsequent maintainers. If on the other hand most of the data manipulation looks like plain maths or vector like then a std::vector is more appropriate." -- https://stackoverflow.com/a/1556294/24473928 */ } ResultList; ResultList passList, abortList; /* Stored on disk, all clients use clones of this */ ResultList localPassList; /* Temporary local caches */ bool passListHashesHas(const char *bytes) { if(localPassList.hashes.has(Sha2(bytes))) { return true; } else if(passList.hashes.has(Sha2(bytes))) { /* Slow, if billions of hashes */ localPassList.hashes.pushback(Sha2(bytes)); /* Caches results */ return true; } return false; } bool staticAnalysisPass(const PortableExecutable *this); /* To skip, define as "return true;" */ bool sandboxPass(const PortableExecutable *this); /* To skip, define as "return true;" */ bool straceOutputsPass(const char *path); /* Unimplemented, `strace()` resources have clues how to do this */ bool cnsPass(const CNS *cns, const std::string &bytes); /* To skip, define as "return true;" */ vector cnsDisinfection(const CNS *cns, const std::string &bytes); /* This can undo infection from bytecodes (restores to fresh executables) */ template maxOfSizes (Container &list) { auto it = std::max_element(list.begin(), list.end(), [](const auto& s, const auto& x) { return s.size() < x.size(); }); return it->size(); }

To run most of this fast (lag less,) use flags which auto-vectorizes/auto-parallelizes. To setup CNS synapses (`setup*CNS`) fast, use TensorFlow's MapReduce:

Howto: run devices (phones, laptops, desktops) more fast, lag less

For comparison; `setupDisinfectionCns` is close to conversation bots (such as "ChatGPT 4.0" or "Claude-3 Opus",) "HSOM" (the simple Python artificial CNS) is enough to do this

Pseudocodes of howto produce `questionsOrNull` + `responsesOrNull`:
hosts = { "https://stackexchange.com", "https://superuser.com", "https://quora.com", ... }; foreach(hosts as host) { wget (host + "/robots.txt") > robots.txt; identifiers = extractIdentifiers("robots.txt"); foreach(identifiers as identifier) { questionsOrNull.identifiers.pushback(identifier); } if(host not in questionsOrNull.identifiers) { questionsOrNull.identifiers.pushback(host); wget (host) > source.txt extraHosts = extractIdentifiers("source.txt"); foreach(extraHosts as extraHost) { hosts.pushback(extraHost); } question = extractQuestion("source.txt"); if(question) { auto questionSha2 = sha2(question); if(questionSha2 not in questionsOrNull.hashes) { questionsOrNull.hashes.pushback(questionSha2); responses = extractResponses("source.txt"); foreach(responses as response) { auto questionSha2 = sha2(question); if(responseSha2 not in responseOrNull.hashes) { responsesOrNull.hashes.pushback(responseSha2); questionsOrNull.bytes.pushback(question); responsesOrNull.bytes.pushback(response); } } } } } } /* Wikipedia is a special case; has compressed downloads of databases ( https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Database_download ) */ /* Github is a special case; has compressed downloads of repositories ( https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/start-your-journey/downloading-files-from-github ) */
Hash resources:
Is just a checksum (such as Sha-2) of all sample inputs, which maps to "this passes" (or "this does not pass".)
https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Sha-2
Signature resources:
Is just a substring (or regex) of infections, which the virus analysis tool checks all executables for; if the signature is found in the executable, do not allow to launch, otherwise launch this.
https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Regex
Heuristical analysis resources:
https://github.com/topics/analysis has lots of open source (FLOSS) analysis tools,
source codes show how those use hex dumps (or disassembled sources) of the apps/SW (executables) to deduce what the apps/SW do to your OS.
Static analysis (such as Clang/LLVM has) just checks programs for accidental security threats (such as buffer overruns/underruns, or null-pointer-dereferences,) but could act as a basis for heuristical analysis,
if you add a few extra checks for deliberate vulnerabilities/signs of infection and have it submit those to review through manual analysis.
https://github.com/llvm/llvm-project/blob/main/clang/lib/StaticAnalyzer
is part of LLVM, license is FLOSS, does static analysis (produces full graphs of each function the SW uses,
plus arguments passed to thus,
so that if the executable violates security, the analysis shows this to you and asks you what to do.)
LLVM has lots of files; you could use just it’s static analysis:
https://github.com/secure-software-engineering/phasar
Example outputs (tests “Fdroid.apk”) of heuristical analysis + 2 sandboxes (from Virustotal):
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/dc3bb88f6419ee7dde7d1547a41569aa03282fe00e0dc43ce035efd7c9d27d75
https://www.virustotal.com/ui/file_behaviours/dc3bb88f6419ee7dde7d1547a41569aa03282fe00e0dc43ce035efd7c9d27d75_VirusTotal%20R2DBox/html
https://www.virustotal.com/ui/file_behaviours/dc3bb88f6419ee7dde7d1547a41569aa03282fe00e0dc43ce035efd7c9d27d75_Zenbox/html
The false positive outputs (from Virustotal's Zenbox) show the purpose of manual analysis.
Sandbox resources:
As opposed to static analysis of the executables hex (or disassembled sources,)
sandboxes perform chroot + functional analysis.
https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Valgrind is just meant to locate accidental security vulnerabilities, but is a common example of functional analysis.
If compliant to POSIX (each Linux OS is), tools can use:
`chroot()` (run `man chroot` for instructions) so that the programs you test cannot alter stuff out of the test;
plus can use `strace()` (run `man strace` for instructions, or look at https://opensource.com/article/19/10/strace
https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/strace-command-in-linux-with-examples/ ) which hooks all system calls and saves logs for functional analysis.
Simple sandboxes just launch programs with "chroot()"+"strace()" for a few seconds,
with all outputs sent for manual reviews;
if more complex, has heuristics to guess what is important (in case of lots of submissions, so manual reviews have less to do.)
Autonomous sandboxes (such as Virustotal's) use full outputs from all analyses,
with calculus to guess if the app/SW is cool to us (thousands of rules such as "Should not alter files of other programs unless prompted to through OS dialogs", "Should not perform network access unless prompted to from you", "Should not perform actions leading to obfuscation which could hinder analysis", which, if violated, add to the executables "danger score" (which the analysis results page shows you.)
CNS resources:
Once the virus analysis tool has static+functional analysis, + sandbox, the next logical move is to do artificial CNS.
Just as (if humans grew trillions of neurons plus thousands of layers of cortices) one of us could parse all databases of infections (plus samples of fresh apps/SW) to setup our synapses to parse hex dumps of apps/SW (to allow us to revert all infections to fresh apps/SW, or if the whole thing is an infection just block,)
so too could artificial CNS (with trillions of artificial neurons) do this:
For analysis, pass training inputs mapped to outputs (infection -> block, fresh apps/SW -> pass) to artificial CNS;
To undo infections (to restore to fresh apps/SW,)
inputs = samples of all (infections or fresh apps/SW,)
outputs = EOF/null (if is infection that can not revert to fresh apps/SW,) or else outputs = fresh apps/SW;
To setup synapses, must have access to huge sample databases (such as Virustotal has.)
Github has lots of FLOSS (Open Source Softwares) simulators of CNS at https://github.com/topics/artificial-neural-network such as;
"HSOM" (license is FLOSS) has simple Python artificial neural networks/maps which could run bots to do simple conversations (such as "ChatGPT 4.0" or "Claude-3 Opus",) but not close to complex enough to house human consciousness: https://github.com/CarsonScott/HSOM
"apxr_run" (https://github.com/Rober-t/apxr_run/ , license is FLOSS) is almost complex enough to house human consciousness;
"apxr_run" has various FLOSS neural network activation functions (absolute, average, standard deviation, sqrt, sin, tanh, log, sigmoid, cos), plus sensor functions (vector difference, quadratic, multiquadric, saturation [+D-zone], gaussian, cartesian/planapolar distances): https://github.com/Rober-t/apxr_run/blob/mastesrc/lib/functions.erl
Various FLOSS neuroplastic functions (self-modulation, Hebbian function, Oja's function): https://github.com/Rober-t/apxr_run/blob/mastesrc/lib/plasticity.erl
Various FLOSS neural network input aggregator functions (dot products, product of differences, mult products): https://github.com/Rober-t/apxr_run/blob/mastesrc/agent_mgsignal_aggregator.erl
Various simulated-annealing functions for artificial neural networks (dynamic [+ random], active [+ random], current [+ random], all [+ random]): https://github.com/Rober-t/apxr_run/blob/mastesrc/lib/tuning_selection.erl
Choices to evolve connections through Darwinian or Lamarkian formulas: https://github.com/Rober-t/apxr_run/blob/mastesrc/agent_mgneuron.erl
Simple to convert Erlang functions to Java/C++ to reuse for fast programs;
the syntax is close to Lisp's.
Examples of howto setup APXR as artificial CNS; https://github.com/Rober-t/apxr_run/blob/mastesrc/examples/
Examples of howto setup HSOM as artificial CNS; https://github.com/CarsonScott/HSOM/tree/masteexamples
Simple to setup once you have access to databases.
Alternative CNS:

Albatross performs lots of neural processes per neural volume versus humans, howto base artificial neural networks off of albatross

This post was about general methods to produce virus analysis tools,
does not require that local resources do all of this;
For systems with lots of resources, could have local sandboxes/CNS;
For systems with less resources, could just submit samples of unknown apps/SW to hosts to perform analysis;
Could have small local sandboxes (that just run for a few seconds) and small CNS (just billions of neurons with hundreds of layers,
versus the trillions of neurons with thousands of layers of cortices that antivirus hosts would use for this);
Allows reuses of workflows the analysis tool has (could just add (small) local sandboxes, or just add artificial CNS to antivirus hosts for extra analysis.)

2024.04.11 20:08 OUberLord Struggling with Postgres on a new deployment

I'm trying to deploy AWX Operator for the first time, and am having no shortage of issues. I am running a three node Kubernetes cluster, and I'm able to get AWX Operator itself running (I followed the documentation at https://ansible.readthedocs.io/projects/awx-operatoen/latest/installation/helm-install-on-existing-cluster.html).
The issue is when it comes time to create an AWX instance, Postgres is just failing to start and I cannot find why. Initially I was getting an error of "mkdir: cannot create directory '/valib/pgsql/data/userdata': Permission denied". I ended up mounting the PV on a different container to then chown "data" to 26:0. Now I don't get the permission error any more, but the pod is stuck in a CrashLoopBackOff.
To attempt to create it, I used the following YAML (and borrowed the process from https://www.linuxtechi.com/install-ansible-awx-on-kubernetes-cluste):
--- apiVersion: v1 kind: PersistentVolumeClaim metadata: name: postgres-13-awx-demo-postgres-13-0 namespace: awx spec: storageClassName: longhorn volumeMode: Block accessModes: - ReadWriteOnce resources: requests: storage: 10Gi --- apiVersion: awx.ansible.com/v1beta1 kind: AWX metadata: name: awx-demo namespace: awx spec: service_type: nodeport postgres_storage_class: longhorn

This isn't enough to tell why it's not working. It's like it gets to the point where it runs the bootstrap script and then just fails.
Is there a better guide to follow perhaps? Am I missing something?

2024.04.06 01:57 lurch99 Tweaking Samba config in TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10.2 possible?

I understand the TrueNAS plan is to do everything via the GUI, but I really do need to change the default shell for AD users as it's not getting that info from our AD, but apparently from an internal file I cannot locate. Normally it'd be /etc/smb4.conf or something similar.
The testparm command shows the values, but these do not come from the /etc/smb4.conf file (which has only 10 lines), so I'm wondering if it's possible to change this elsewhere? I believe the value that needs to be changed (or removed entirely) is template shell = /bin/sh

Scale problem with group when importing from LDAP
Hi guys, not sure if this is the correct place but it drove me nuts for a few days now.
I'm a student and this is homework, I know probably not practical but teacher requires this.

I use ApacheDS created a LDAP server, using nis schema created posixGroup and posixAccount. When connect TrueNAS to my LDAP server, in the permission page, I can see the users, but nothing shows in the group. I tried "getent passwd" got users i create within LDAP server, but "getent group" return nothing.. Tried "rebuild directory cache" lots times just not working.
this is my ApacheLDAP server (users showing but group not showing in the dropdown):

https://preview.redd.it/5t35acsiihsc1.jpg?width=1211&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=affc7d2c1b0d1b05204b91a34eb86bde2d29acee
On another class we used OpenLDAP, i tried to connect to that one and the group shows fine. This is the OpenLDAP group settings (everything shows fine even empty group):

https://preview.redd.it/r1fyqq1lihsc1.jpg?width=1202&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7209aea8dd533af31d35de79c2bff0fac9e835f2

I literally tried everything i could just doesn't work. Please help.. Thanks in advance.
P.S. if it's the wrong place to post, is it possible to give me a hint where to look for help..

2024.04.01 21:39 zenmindai Issues Launching Firefox and GNOME Terminal in XFCE4 on Termux Proot Environment

I'm reaching out for assistance with some challenges I'm facing while running an XFCE4 desktop environment in a proot Ubuntu setup on Termux. Despite successfully setting up XFCE4 and being able to interact with the desktop, I've encountered issues when trying to launch Firefox and the GNOME Terminal.
(Please note I'm posting this from mobile, so my formatting might be weird!)

Background

I've set up Ubuntu within Termux using proot with the goal of exploring a Linux desktop experience on Android. The Ubuntu environment was installed using scripts from the Udroid GitHub project, a setup intended to streamline the creation of a Linux desktop environment within Termux. To prepare for running XFCE4, I start termux-x11 with the parameter :0 in Termux, and within the proot environment, I run export DISPLAY=:0 to ensure the display environment variable is correctly set for X11 forwarding.

Environment

Problems and Error Logs

  1. Firefox Issue: The browser launches but tabs fail to operate correctly. The tab only says that it crashed. The issues might relate to graphics rendering or DBus communication errors, common in such configurations. ``` Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: [0][GFX1-]: glxtest: ManageChildProcess failed (t=1.29712) [GFX1-]: glxtest: ManageChildProcess failed

  1. GNOME Terminal Issue: Attempting to launch the GNOME Terminal results in the following error message: Error constructing proxy for org.gnome.Terminal:/org/gnome/Terminal/Factory0: Error calling StartServiceByName for org.gnome.Terminal: Process org.gnome.Terminal exited with status 8 This error indicates a problem starting GNOME Terminal related to DBus services within the proot environment.
  2. Additional XFCE4 and Graphics Errors: Alongside these application-specific issues, I've encountered errors related to graphics rendering and system service communication: (xfwm4:26033): xfwm4-WARNING **: 18:23:58.963: Unsupported GL renderer (llvmpipe (LLVM 15.0.7, 128 bits)). Request for Help

I'm seeking advice on the following: - How to resolve the issues with launching GNOME Terminal and Firefox. - Insights into the graphics rendering warnings and potential mitigations. - Recommendations for configuration changes or alternatives to improve the experience of running XFCE4 within the Termux proot environment.
I would greatly appreciate any insights or recommendations from this wonderful community. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

2024.03.29 23:15 Simple-Cod-4735 Future of Model Based Development in Automotive

For the last 2 decades, Simulink has become a dominant tool for Automotive Embedded Software, particularly for the application layer. In my understanding, this has been due to the resource constrained embedded targets, which do not provide a very user friendly programming experience in C. Codegen from simulink models has been very successful way of working for Automotive Controls.
Looking at the future, there are some key trends in place
Going in this direction , what do you think will be the ‘new normal’ SW development environment in the automotive industry?
Do u think MATLAB Sinulink, with its closed, pay per toolbox approach, is here to stay in the automotive world?
Please share your opinion!

2024.03.22 16:41 tomado09 Problems (Likely Permissions) Connecting to SMB Share on Scale 22.12.4.2(Bluefin) from MacOS Sonoma

I have a TrueNAS Scale set up at home and I'm remote, attempting to connect to my SMB share over VPN. I have a few usernames that I use depending on which share I'd like to access (there are a few, all shared via SMB). For permissions, I usually use the "POSIX_RESTRICTED" ACL as-is, which allows "builtin_users" group to access each share. In the future, I'd like to lock this down, but for now, I just want to get the thing to work.
The issue is that since setting this up, I have had sporadic issues connecting to the SMB share (both directly at home, hardlined to my LAN, and remotely). In Finder, I connect to smb://user@*:servename_of_share. Sometimes one username will allow me to connect to one share (and as a result all the other shares if I navigate to the server "root", which isn't really the root, just the collection of all shares MacOS can see), and other times I can't connect with that username. Other usernames just straight up don't work. On occasion I can get my trusty username to work by refreshing the permissions (just applying the "POSIX_RESTRICTED" ACL again, despite the fact that it doesn't change anything that's shown in the web GUI). But recently, this hasn't been working either and I'm not able to connect at all.
I know the issue isn't the VPN - I've connected to the TrueNAS SMB share from this site before and I don't anticipate there have been any changes to the network infrastructure. Also, right now I can access all other services on my home network over the VPN. So it seems to be a permissions issue, or perhaps an issue with how I connect from MacOS. Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: The "trusty" username works to connect to the share from my phone. So it appears not to be a permissions issue primarily....now I'm just confused.
Also, why would only one username work and others not work? I had successfully connected to the SMB share (months ago, hasn't been used since) from my windows laptop using a different username. Would that somehow prevent future connections from other devices? Doesn't make sense to me - I can't connect to this windows username from my phone either.
EDIT 2: I've already looked at https://www.truenas.com/docs/scale/scaletutorials/shares/smb/setupbasictimemachinesmbshare/ and believe I'm doing everything in accordance with that tutorial.

2024.03.19 00:47 franz_werner Podman compose cant start postgres container

Hello (sorry first post in tech subreddit), I have been testing podman for a few days. Now I want to start an application that works fine with docker compose with podman compose. But I always get the message in IntellIj: ✘ Container test-LOCAL-test-postgres Error dependency failed to start: container test-LOCAL-test-postgres is unhealthy Error: executing C:\Program Files\Rancher Desktop\resources\resources\win32\bin\docker-compose.exe --profile local --env-file ./.ci/docker-compose/env/ics-gw.local.env --env-file ./.ci/docker-compose/env/ic s-gw.versions.env -f ./.ci/docker-compose/ics-gw.docker-compose.yaml up --force-recreate -d --build: exit status 1
I don't understand why the application started with docker compose works, but not with podman compose, which in turn uses docker compose.
Can someone give me a hint what is wrong? The postgres:24.1 version is used.
I can start all postgres containers with podman start . But when I access the application, I get a 404 error.
This is what the postgres part in the dockerfile looks like:

This is how I bind the Postgres containers to other containers:

2024.03.13 15:45 naokis28 TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10.2 - NextCloud never deploys

Yep, it's another one of those.
I have recently set up a clean new installation of Cobia and have mostly set up everything else however I cannot for the life of me get NextCloud to install. I've been working on this for a few days and googled a lot, seeing there's a lot of problems with this but still stuck. Essentially, I always run into an issue where the app just fails to set up. I only ever got it working on 22 BlueFin before.
I'm using TrueCharts, chart app version 1.6.58. So far I have made sure that:
And yet still get stuck. If I have cron enabled, it gets stuck saying:
Saw completed job: nextcloud-cronjob-28505505, status: Failed
Else if I don't, I will see this instead:
Liveness probe failed: HTTP probe failed with statuscode: 403
Readiness probe failed: HTTP probe failed with statuscode: 403
Startup probe failed: HTTP probe failed with statuscode: 403
Not sure what else I can do, it's driving me mad.

EDIT:

Noticed this in the logs, also can't connect into the shell of the container.

2024.03.03 22:13 spherical_shell How to force a non-thread-safe library to be thread-safe?

I am trying to use a library called ARPACK, which is not thread-safe. Locking my calls significantly reduces CPU utilisation. Modifying source codes to ensure thread-safety is a LOT of work.
However, the library is a numerical computation library. It is not thread-safe probably solely because of the use of global/static variables or equivalent. This means that once I open multiple instances of the library, and use different instances in different threads, things should be fine.
Now I presume I can do one of the following:
  1. Copy and rename the dynamically linked library into many different files, and call POSIX dlopen() on each of them.
  2. Whenever making a call into the library, call the POSIX fork() to make a separate process. Or make a pool of processes, connected to the main process via pipes, and make some communication protocol.
I do not know which option is better and when. Could anyone share their idea on what is the best way to do this?

Wayfire does not work with FreeBSD 14.0 ?
Ehy bro',
I'm trying to install wayfire watching the tutorial below,at minute : 21:07

because I would like to install wayland / wayfire on my FreeBSD 14.0,but it does not work for me (my graphic card is one nvidia GTX 1060).

Does anyone have an idea how i can fix this? I have reinstalled code several times, cleared the config/Code directory and also cleared the .vscode directory. Starting it with --disable-gpu also does not change anything :( Any help is appreciated

2024.01.26 16:58 Equivalent-Raise5879 Trying to upgrade from 10.4.32 to newer/newest/more better

Running 10.4.32 and it seems to be "ok" but perhaps a little sluggish. whatever.
First step was to backup the databases, but seems like I've got some log "issues" that I don't know what to do about.
Is there some option to just flush/kill logs to get past the "[00] FATAL ERROR: 2024-01-26 10:30:25 xtrabackup_copy_logfile() failed: corrupt log." or is there a larger problem I need to deal with?
I AM able to backup using mysqldump --all-databases ... and could likely push through, but I'd hate to have to put all my trust in snapshots and backups if I can avoid it , and mabee learn something.

I had a similar issue to this >https://www.reddit.com/git/comments/xk4flt/how_do_you_change_the_repository_on_visual_studio/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 and tried the solution posed here > https://www.reddit.com/git/comments/xk4flt/comment/ipbuo7k/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 in the comments on that question ... but when I tried with my live site host, it didnt work ...
I have a hosting environment where there is a base domain acting as the kind of root/main domain, and in cPanel the file directory has a hierarchy starting with /home/primaryusername/ ... so everything exists under that folder, for all domains and subdomains, and there is a directory /home/primaryusername/public_html which would contain the website for the main domain the account is based on (if I made a website for that domain, but I probably wont anymore ...
so most logins require me to write all this in the form: primaryusername@primarydomain:/home/primaryusername/public_html/PATH_TO_GIT_REPO/ ... or something like that, I may be remembering slightly incorrectly, but I hope you get the idea, I presume this is how the host server differentiates between the login user versus the thing you actually want access to
WHEN I TRIED THE SOLUTION ABOVE (regarding adding and removing remotes) ... I tried adding my host as a remote, even though I could already connect remotely by a previous setup, it wouldnt work with cloning ... but all it achieved was to screw up that connection, so now I cannot even connect to it anymore, and it says "opening remote" in the bottom left corner, but it never opens, it just keeps trying, even after I followed that same comment to then remove the remote I just added (since there was a different way I was connecting to it previously and that setting still remains, but no longer works) ... after whirring around for ages I just click to close the remote connection which never connected
the error I see through the vscode interface (log git-error-long_number, sanitized below) says:
> git fetch websiteiamtryingtoaccess.domainextensionCreateProcessW failed error:193ssh_askpass: posix_spawnp: Unknown errorPermission denied, please try again.CreateProcessW failed error:193ssh_askpass: posix_spawnp: Unknown errorPermission denied, please try again.CreateProcessW failed error:193ssh_askpass: posix_spawnp: Unknown errorprimaryuser@primarydomain: Permission denied (publickey,password).fatal: Could not read from remote repository.Please make sure you have the correct access rightsand the repository exists.
... each time I try to set up a a situation where i have a connection with Git locally, GitHub, and the live server in the settings, so that I can push and publish to origin (GitHub) as an offsite backup, and upstream (live site), something about trying to get a local repo started and connected always screws everything up, and suddenly my live site server wont establish the SSH connection ... and nobody explains anything fully and unambiguously to figure out what the hell is going wrong.
Fortunately these experiments have not so far screwed up my live site, but they are screwing with my head, and I am no longer sure about anything, because things that are supposed to work, dont, or they do then stop ... and all the tutorials and help files are written and recorded in a way that do not help you adapt from their example to your own situation
Can anyone recommend an extremely detailed tutorial which covers ALL these kinds of things from scratch, and details how to check the config files to be absolutely sure every single end of the equation is configured correctly ... because something is wrong, and I cannot understand based on the explanations I keep finding, which do not go into such details.

2024.01.14 21:58 Eastern-Ingenuity-85 MCU not found BTT skr3 ez Raspi 4

Ok so I am at a loss.
I keep getting MCU not found and ls /dev/serial/by-id/ shows comes up with file not found
I have worked on this problem on and off for the last week. Not my first install of Klipper on a raspberry Pi, but this one is kicking my ass.
Thank you for any help anybody can give me.
Fresh install of mainsail
ls /dev/serial/by-id/ gives me No file or directory
ls /dev/serial/by-path/ gives me no file or directory
Flashed again
Set up menucofig and flashed again after flashing the file name changes to FIRMWARE.CUR so it is showing the flashing was successful
2 different Raspberry pi4
A bunch of different cables (all came with boards I have gotten over the years)
Installed Kiauh it shows nothing in get MCU id under USB. In UART it finds 2 MCU's
8gb SD card Fat 32 formatting
Board is powered by USB during testing

2024.01.03 03:38 chardskarth Dockerized flutter for development environment

I found a similar post here.
Is something like this really possible? I've been trying to make this work without any success: - I used "dart:3.2.4" as base image and I can't install "google-chrome" package. So I end up installing chromium. - Running "flutter run", chromium is not allowing me to run without "--no-sandbox" args. I didn't find any helpful tips about how to run this with said args. So I end up adding a user inside docker container. - Since I added a new user, it now conflicts with directory permissions in PUB_CACHE and FVM_HOME. So I end up adding hacks to override permissions. - I thought I was finally gonna make it work, but then chromium still fails to launch inside docker with the following message: ```
Launching lib/main.dart on Chrome in debug mode... Waiting for connection from debug service on Chrome... 31.8s [CHROME]:Failed to move to new namespace: PID namespaces supported, Network namespace supported, but failed: errno = Operation not permitted [CHROME]:[1223:1223:0102/202150.688842:FATAL:zygote_host_impl_linux.cc(200)] Check failed: . : Operation not permitted (1) [CHROME]:[0102/202150.696332:ERROR:file_io_posix.cc(145)] open /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq: No such file or directory (2) [CHROME]:[0102/202150.696385:ERROR:file_io_posix.cc(145)] open /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq: No such file or directory (2) [CHROME]:[1242:1242:0100/000000.712737:ERROR:zygote_linux.cc(662)] write: Broken pipe (32) Failed to launch browser after 3 tries. Make sure you are using an up-to-date Chrome or Edge. Otherwise, consider using -d web-server instead and filing an issue at https://github.com/flutteflutteissues. developer@7f648b92abdb:~/app$ fvm flutter build web ``` Here's my dockerfile if anyone is hopefully willing to send help. Thanks!

2023.12.22 17:48 thisiszeev Installing Nextcloud on your home server with out a domain...

So alot of people are asking for the install script to get Nextcloud running with out a domain... so I am going to paste the code here.
It does make use of SSL and redirects http to https but it is self signed and you will get a security warning, just continue to the site. If you are not access the install from outside your home network, or for some psychotic reason you do not want a certificate installed, then just comment out the lines in that section.
Everything in the script is documented as comments. Everything is automated, even the Web Install steps.
This has been tested on Debian 12, but should work with latest Ubuntu and Debian 11 as well.
Please use a vanilla server as if you have anything setup in /vawww/html it will be deleted and replaced with nextcloud. It doesn't configure the IP address, you must do that at time of installing Debian. When the install is done, you can open the install by pointing your browser to the server's IP address.
If it prompts you about your sshd_config file, just keep your existing copy. It shouldn't but on my VM of Debian 12 server, I have an overly modified copy of it.
You must run it as root. On my VM (1 vcpu and 2GB RAM) it takes just over 11 minutes
