2024.06.01 12:39 Mean_Breadfruit_8170 Interior design resources

We are currently in the process of buying our first house. The house is very date but is clean and there is lots of potential to make it our own. Does anyone know of any online/ physical resources to learn about interior design? Ideally I'm after magazines. I'm awful at furnishing spaces, in each flat we've lived in previously I'd buy furniture which either didn't match each or of poor quality so the idea of doing up a whole house is a little daunting. It would be a nightmare to invest lots of money and a couple months later not like the space.

'After 13 years': Marcos to sign bill doubling teaching supply allowance to P10,000
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to approve a bill increasing teaching supplies allowance from P5,000 to P10,000 starting School Year (SY) 2025-2026 in a ceremonial signing into law on Monday.
This was revealed to the public last Thursday night through an invitation sent by the Presidential Legislative Liason Office to ACT Teachers party-list Rep. France Castro.
The ceremonial re-enactment of the signing into law of the "Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act" is set for June 3, 2024 at the Malacañan Palace in Manila. The letter was signed by PLLO Secretary Mark Llandro Mendoza.
"After a long fought battle to increase the Teaching Supplies Allowance (or chalk allowance) of teachers, the 'Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act' is now a law, hiking the current P5,000 teaching supplies allowance to P10,000," said the party in Filipino.
"This law was first filed by the ACT Teachers Party-list in 2011 and was brought to the forefront for years before being officially passed into law."
Teachers have long been clamoring for the said increase since the current allowance couldn't cover all the expenses needed to buy enough chalk, erasers, forms and other classroom suppplies. As a result, educators have been taking out money from their own pockets.
Said party-list spearheaded the most recent measure in the House of Representatives, which was later on passed in December 2023, with their approved version providing for P7,500 for SY 2024-2025 and P10,000 for SY 2025-2026 onwards.
Its counterpart bill in Senaate was likewise passed in May 2023. However, only P5,000 haas been granted for SY 2024-2025 in the reconciled Senate Bill 1964 and House Bill 9682 of the Bicameral Conference Committee.
It was officially transmitted to the Office of the President last May 3, 2024.
'Proof that collective action works'
In a separate statement, the Alliance of Concerneed Teachers (ACT) Philippines last Friday attributed the bill's passage to the tireless efforts of teachers and progressive supporters.
"This is proof that we could achieve victories through collective action alongside our genuine representatives inside the Congress, the ACT Teachers Party-list, who since 2011 have filed the bill seeking for the increase of teaching supplies allowance for our public school teachers," said Vladimer Quetua, ACT chairperson.
"Teachers have long been spending their own money for school supplies. Yearly, we take out a huge amount from our own pockets to fix classrooms. This includes teaching aid costs that we use for the benefit of children."
ACT likewise reiterated its call for a salary increase, including a P50,000 entry-level pay for teachers, P33,000 salary for salary grade 1 employees, SG16 for Instructor 1 in state universities and colleges, and P33,000 national minimum wage for all workers.

I was introduced to the Axcel Accutouch Carbon Pro Sight AV-41 during one of my archery excursions. Being a novice, I was initially skeptical about the single pin adjustable sight, but its Accu-Click system quickly changed my mind. The sight allowed me to set "clicks" at specified distances, making it incredibly accurate even for a beginner like me. Another noteworthy feature was the 45 degree facing sight tape, which made it much easier for me to view and set yardage indicators.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd axis adjustments on this carbon pro sight were a game-changer. No more shims needed, and adjustments can be made with ease. The micro adjust windage feature is also worth mentioning. It stays locked in place until the Windage Lock Button is disengaged, ensuring precise accuracy.
However, what truly sets this sight apart is the Axcel AV-41 scope. The. 010" or. 019" green fiber enhances visibility, making it easier to aim and shoot accurately every time. Overall, the Axcel Accutouch Carbon Pro Sight AV-41 has been a valuable addition to my archery kit, helping me improve my accuracy and enjoy my time in the field.

🔗High-Performance Green Dot Picture Sight with Picatinny Mount

In my quest for an effortless and accurate shot, I recently tried out the Axcel LANDSLYDE Plus Picatinny Sight AV-41. As a hunter, I needed something that would give me the right sight for the perfect shot. I must say, the LANDSLYDE Plus is one of the most user-friendly sights I've come across.
The sight has this whisper-quiet gear system that effortlessly slides up and down, allowing for precise yardage settings. One of the features I really appreciated was the adjustable dead stop, which lets you quickly access 20 yards or any other yardage setting. With this feature, I was able to make adjustments on the fly, without having to take unnecessary time.
Another standout feature is the sight's two individually adjustable pointers. This made aiming a lot easier and more precise. The LANDSLYDE Plus also comes with an AV-41 scope, which works well in hunting blinds. I particularly enjoyed the torque indicator on the front of the scope, as it helped me identify if my bow was canted to one side or the other.
The LANDSLYDE Plus Picatinny Sight AV-41 has this built-in feature that dims the fiber optic pins, making it less prone to starbursting in direct sunlight. This was a feature I didn't know I needed, but it sure came in handy in bright sunlight.
The product, despite being made of metal, felt durable and sturdy in my hands. Its Picatinny in-line sight mount was another thing that impressed me, making installation on my bow a breeze. I could easily adjust the sight in or out to one of three positions to match the peep sight to the scope housing or up or down to one of three positions on the bow riser for enhanced elevation adjustments.
With the LANDSLYDE Plus Picatinny Sight AV-41, every hunting session felt like a breeze. It provided the precision I needed and the ease of use that made me comfortable in using it. Overall, I was pleased with how effective this sight was in helping me make the perfect shot. It's a tool I'd definitely recommend to other hunters looking for a reliable and accurate green dot sight.

🔗Uberti 1873 Tang Sight Rear Sight for 1911 Style Firearm

https://preview.redd.it/j1wtgzwoux3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8fe8bf9efc6d3b5eb6d1ef236fd069d003f37ae8
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Uberti 1873 Tang Sight Rear Sight in black color. This sight is a real statement piece that adds a touch of class and sophistication to any gun. The tang sight design is both classic and functional, allowing for quick and precise targeting.
What stood out to me was the build quality of the Uberti, which is sturdy and solid. The black finish not only complements the design but also helps to reduce glare, making it a reliable choice for hunting or shooting under various lighting conditions.
However, I did find that at a distance, the sight struggled to stay focused at times. This could be an issue with my own eyesight, but it was noticeable enough to warrant mention.
Overall, the Uberti 1873 Tang Sight Rear Sight in black is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish rear sight. Just keep in mind the potential focus issues at long distances, and you'll be good to go.

🔗Snag-Free White Gold Bead Front Sight for Colt Python and Anaconda

https://preview.redd.it/w2w0loapux3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1357a4382f345d53ab39cf7fdaf70c7dee9202fe
When I first laid my eyes on the Snag Free Front Sight White Gold Bead Colt Python/Anaconda, I was immediately drawn to its gleaming white gold finish. This unique bead not only adds an elegant touch to the overall design but also ensures a snag-free shooting experience. The bead sits snugly within the outline of the sight, providing a clean and streamlined appearance.
During my time with this sight, I quickly came to appreciate its durability and the ease with which it blends in with the surroundings, promoting a more accurate focus and shot placement. However, I also noticed that its height, at. 310, may not be suitable for all users, especially those with specific preferences for sight height.
Despite this minor drawback, I found the Snag Free Front Sight White Gold Bead Colt Python/Anaconda to be a valuable addition to any Colt Python or Anaconda user's toolkit, providing both style and functionality without compromising on quality or performance.

2024.06.01 12:35 wistfulsunlight Hyperpop: Avant-Garde, Kitsch, and Queer Temporality

This is a paper I wrote for my genre class. Thought you guys might appreciate it.

A Soulja Boy interpolation and unabashed, blaring computerized synths drives That Kid’s track “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” where he relies on the nostalgic interpolation singing, “I just wanna kiss you / But I can't right now / So baby kiss me thru the phone.” Lyrics likes these and glitchy, distorted vocals and beats provide a unique listening experience that asks little of the listener in terms of content and expression while asking for contemplation and reflection regarding form. Hyperpop has become a community-based genre, and a space, for independent queer artists to express themselves and develop culture from the sidelines. The genre is attractive because of the tension between its queerly-nostalgic, kitsch lyrical content and avant-garde musical production.

What is Hyperpop?
The microgenre has been covered by The New York Times and The Atlantic with the latter’s article title reading, “Noisy, Ugly, and Addictive.” Hyperpop as a genre began as a Spotify playlist whose relatively small following of about 450,000 currently that, according to The New York Times, followers add to their library at a rate rivaling that of some of the biggest playlists on the platform like “RapCaviar.” WXPN, a non-commercial, member-supported radio service of the University of Pennsylvania, describes hyperpop as “…a genre that takes modern mainstream pop concepts, crushes them up, spits them out, ingests them again, and spits them out again. Perhaps that’s an exaggeration. But not an egregious one.” Maximalist and exaggerative, hyperpop takes the conventions of the pop genre and pushes them to its extreme. Resulting in “surrealist lyrics, overblown bass and high pitch vocals” and “Glitches, metallic sound synths and distorted vocals” (Lucas De Lellis da Silva). Hyperpop is a genre that defies the genre label in its transformation of other genres such as hip-hop, trap, rock, and punk. Its punk influence can also be seen with “its alignment with queerness, anti-capitalist and environmentalist beliefs raises questions on our current notions of technology and issues of representation.”

The Paradox
Hyperpop music production is where it is most avant-garde. The genre imitates pop music and exaggerates it, pop music being an imitation in itself. In his essay, “Avant-Garde and Kitsch,” Clement Greenberg on the avant-garde says, “[According to] Aristotle, all art and literature are imitation, then what we have here is the imitation of imitating.” Greenberg describes Picasso paintings as avant-garde, where the reflection of the painting, the interpretation and deliberation on part of the audience, “are not immediately or externally present in Picasso's painting but must be projected into it by the spectator sensitive enough to react sufficiently to plastic qualities.” On the other hand, Greenberg (misattributing a painting to Repin) describes Repin as a kitsch artist. Greenberg says “the “reflected” effect having already been included in the picture, ready for the spectator's unreflective enjoyment.” Greenberg summarizes this point when he says, “If the avant-garde imitates the processes of art, kitsch, we now see, imitates its effects.” Both avant-garde and kitsch can be seen in hyperpop where the production is avant-garde, glitchy, distorted and experimental and the lyrics are kitsch, overt, and cliché.
There are class biases regarding high art (e.g. avant-garde) and low art (e.g. kitsch). On the material importance of class and aesthetics, Greenberg claims that
“No culture can develop without a social basis, without a source of stable income. And in the case of the avant-garde, this was provided by an elite among the ruling class of that society from which it assumed itself to be cut off, but to which it has always remained attached by an umbilical cord of gold. The paradox is real. And now this elite is rapidly shrinking” (8).
To Greenberg, and within the context of the time that his essay was published in 1961, the avant-garde belonged to the ruling class because they provided capital that allowed artists to survive and create the art that aligned with the taste of that class. However, because of the ubiquity in technology and specifically the accessibility of Digital Audio Workstations, hyperpop artists defy Greenberg’s expectations by being created and conceptualized by the working class, “a democratized option in the music industry” as Gazelle puts it.
On the effect the ruling class’s funding has on the artist, Greenberg says, “precisely because his content was determined in advance, the artist was free to concentrate on his medium. He needed not to be philosopher, or visionary, but simply artificer” (16). Being an artificer allowed artists to focus on their medium and its form. Because hyperpop music is not determined in advance by the ruling class, hyperpop artists instead must focus on form and content which has resulted in avant-garde production and a reliance on kitsch imagery in their lyrics.
Perhaps the most avant-garde, the acclaimed hyperpop song “ringtone remix [feat. Charli XCX, Rico Nasty, Kero Kero Bonito]” by 100 gecs demonstrates the paradox of being avant-garde and kitsch. The song displays a catchy hook with distorted sound effects and pitched up vocals, a rap passage over a rock instrumentation, an interlude asking Charli XCX to sing the hook again, and finally an outro that features whispers and a sparse electronic drums. The song pushes the boundaries of form. However, once again, the lyrics are kitschy; “spilling champagne” and “my boy’s got his own ringtone” which invokes the tradition of giving specific phone numbers particular ringtones popular in the 2000s.

Nostalgic Lyrics
Queer artists in the hyperpop genre have relied on nostalgic lyrics. This queer sensibility is not new or unique to hyperpop. In Time Binds, Elizabeth Freeman posits, “This stubborn lingering of pastness (whether it appears as anachronistic style, as the reappearance of bygone events in the symptom, or as arrested development) is a hallmark of queer affect: a ‘‘revolution’’ in the old sense of the word, as a turning back” (8). Hyperpop follows the queer tradition of expressing pastness in its references to Sidekick phones, Ronald Reagan’s 2004 death, and overall, a Year 2000 aesthetic. Freeman continues,
““Heather Love’s Feeling Backward, for instance, astutely diagnoses the ‘‘backwards’’ emotions elaborated by artists for whom the birth of the modern homosexual identity-form was constraining rather than liberating: shame, passivity, melancholy, and recoil, to name but a few, were ways of refusing the progressive logic by which becoming ever more visible was correlated with achieving ever more freedom” (8).
Hyperpop lyrics largely reminisces the 2000s, which goes against the typical notion of queerness valuing progressiveness and the striving for more freedom. The “backwards” emotions such as shame feel constraining to the modern queer-identifying person; nostalgia allows for them to escape that label to a time where things seem simpler, especially for the Gen-Z artists that make up the genre. In other words, Freeman is saying that “the discipline of ‘‘timing’’ engenders a sense of being and belonging that feels natural” (18). Because queer-identifying people face shame, they rely on a sense of time and timing that mirrors their marginalized lives which is also echoed in the glitchy vocals and musical production.
The genre also does not bend to the musical trends of the moment. A hyperpop artists does not need to constantly update their sound to match the current sonic landscapes because they are creating music that exaggerates a particular decade. Pastness allows for these artists to resist the “commodity-time of speedy manufacture and planned obsolescence,” (Freeman 9) aligning with the anti-capitalist values of the genre.
Nostalgia and kitsch are related. For example, even people that did not experience the 2000s the way Gen Z experienced it can relate and empathize with hyperpop lyrics because they are kitsch. In her essay Stephanie Brown says,
“These [kitsch] objects not only anchor the viewer's memory of a time that is past but also inspire "memories" of an era whose collective Zeitgeist has been so encapsulated as to be readily available, prepackaged, even to those whose individual experiences did not include firsthand knowledge of the phenomena of an earlier decade. The effect—to condense, flatten, and homogenize the discontinuous experiences of a heterogeneous group of people and then to sell these experiences back to them as if they were genuine—is… the inevitable result of the late-capitalist predilection for periodization…” (40).
This analysis reveals that kitsch is context dependent. For example, profile avatars, big computers, the “blue screen of death” are all imagery that one may find in cover art for a hyperpop album that also represent a 2000s aesthetic. One may find this flavor of American 2000s memorabilia nostalgic, and another may find them completely meaningless if they are not aware of the context that those objects existed in, the connotation they carry for the artists, or the effect that these depictions have on its intended audience.

Hyperpop’s Attraction
The hyperpop genre has a tension that can be stated as a capitalist predilection for its kitschy lyrics and an anti-capitalist predilection for its musical production. An example of this is Charli XCX’s recent song “Club classics” whose vapid lyrics convey little to nothing making it easy to consume, with a chorus repeating the lines “When I go to the club, I wanna hear those club classics / Club classics, club, club classics.” However, the production exaggerates the production conventions of traditional pop through minimalist moments of technologic vocals overlaid on a wobbling bass sound effect, a stuttering vocal in the background with orchestral synths at another moment, and shrill harmonies dotting the backend of the track.
Perhaps these lyrics are attractive exactly because they are “beyond the realm of “good taste.”” Paralleling kitsch, camp provides a supplementary set of standards to view art, not as good or bad, but as having meaning or being pure artifice. Brown states, “Camp is a sly celebration of bad taste and vulgarity from a position of privilege” (50). Brown gives an example of a position of privilege as men doing drag; them being men, even if queer, gives them the ability to dress as women and remain men and “enjoy a hegemonic superiority” (50). Perpendicular to camp, kitsch allows a consumer to enjoy art from the position of the underprivileged. Brown also states that enjoying kitsch is like it “is there to entertain us on the basest, most compromised of levels… Junk, like the drunk at the wedding, can get away with doing or saying anything because, by its very appearance, it is already in disgrace.”
The other relational dimension of the attraction to the genre is the rebellion that it provides listeners. Brown writes, “today's consumers look to kitsch consumption as a way of rejecting an aesthetic hierarchy forced upon them by economically determined and class-bound interests.” Listening and enjoying hyperpop for its lyrical content is a kind of revolt from the ruling class’s distinctions of what high and low art are. Hyperpop is both high and low art according to the ruling class. It is preoccupied, plays, and breaks form; in Greenberg’s words, it imitates the processes of art. It also is cliché and overt in its lyrical content, imitating effect. It is through the ambiguation that allows listeners to commit to appreciating it for its high art value, its low art value, or both.

The Future of Hyperpop
However, as the genre grows and opportunities befall hyperpop artists, it has been exploited. Greenberg says, “Capitalism in decline finds that whatever of quality is still capable of producing becomes almost invariably a threat to its own existence” (21). This is evident with artists like Camila Cabello (one of the most listened to artists of today with a powerful label backing her) making a genre switch from pop/Latin pop to hyperpop with her first single “I LUV IT” featuring Playboi Carti off her upcoming album. Other than being poorly received and deemed a Charli XCX rip off by hyperpop fans, Camila Cabello capitalizes and therefore, strips the genre of its underground roots, making even the production of the track redundant. “I LUV IT” is an imitation of an imitation of an imitation. If we were to take this song as a sign, an omen, for the genre, hope for hyperpop shall remain elusive.

2024.06.01 12:31 OptimalWonder8372 Happy Pride!

Have you ever been to a pride? I just did my first one. I noticed loads of different kinds of people taking part and joining in… even the kids were part of the parade. I will edit a video later of the event. It felt kind of special in some ways as towards the end they played my late fathers’ favourite music and I felt sentimental… what’s your pride story? I was meant to go last year but the strikes made it difficult going back. This one just happened spontaneously and how busy it was, was amazing. I’m not gonna tell you where it was but I will share the video later. It’s great to see what countries are beginning to welcome the pride festival too and to get a different or outside culture on what others opinions are on pride is something I’m interested in. I spoke to a girl there who like me found it online and just turned up in the centre. I was asking her about the acceptance of lgbt and she said her country were more accepting. Even older people were dressing up and putting on their best dress. I think that’s an amazing thing about pride I realised. You don’t have to be anyone part of lgbt to enjoy it but to believe in love shouldn’t be cause to divide in the first place but unite an otherwise broken society and evolve culture 🌱❤️🏳️‍🌈

2024.06.01 12:28 throwraFrequentRow2 Considering if I may have been dating a narcissist?

Considering if I may have been dating some kind of narcissist?
Ok so, I’m only just considering the possibility that I was dating some kinda narcissist.
I met a guy from online dating. Exceptionally Handsome photos, very smooth and charming. We met in person and immediately and him got on exceptionally well. He was the most intelligent man I’ve ever met in my life, on dates he wanted to talk at length about intellectual topics.
Despite getting along well, this is where the weird behaviour came in. When parting ways on dates, after the date he was very distant. He would send a long formal message, not check I got home safe.
He never lovebombed. But I’m considering if he is a cerebral narcissist for the following reasons
We went on several further dates. Mainly daytime dates. He would be very affectionate, hold my hand and kiss my forehead. He brought me along to meet his friends. Still amazing conversation. But I always felt like he was the one in control
He was always quite a stern stoic person, very unemotional. He cared a lot about his hair, often showing me pics of himself. Talking about his appearance a lot
If I stayed over, in the mornings I basically felt he was kicking me out, same thing if he stayed at mine he would want to leave early. He’d make me coffee, and his demeanour had completely changed. He would not cuddle me after intimacy. Then after the date, once again taking days to reply and sending formal paragraphs.
After the first time I stayed over, which was a lovely date. He went on holiday for 10 days and didn’t message me. When he came back, he was being extremely cold in messages
The next thing was interesting. He was fired from his job. He told me it was because he told them ‘you don’t know how to run a company.’ this made him quite stressed
But he still continued meeting me. Once again affectionate on dates
On the very last date, he cooked me dinner and we had a nice time. Though when he was cooking the steak, he went on for about 20 mins about the science and molecules involved when cooking a steak. It was cute but a bit much. He always referred to intelligent people as ‘people like us.’ And he always commented on my intelligence as a reason why he likes me. On the morning of the last date, he went on a rant about how he struggles to respect those he works with as he feels they don’t deserve the job. He also told me empathy is something he finds hard to feel
Things changed after this date and he was texting me all the time. Sending cute date ideas. I then asked him if I could see him on my way past for a few hours, he told me he was hungover. And sent a bit of a harsh cold message
2 weeks later, he ended things and said he didn’t feel romantic.
2 months later, he comes back to be friends. Took me to play golf, to a music gig. Was being very nice to me, sending supportive messages when I was at work stressed. Hugging me a lot and telling me how glad he is to see me. Texting me a lot.
Then he disappears again. Ignored my messages. It’s like he only wants to speak or see me on his terms.
So I considered perhaps he is narcissistic minus the love bombing. (I’m too clever to fall for love bombing he could feel)
He claims ‘I’m just like him but he’s more harsh.’

2024.06.01 12:28 AndreaPro Beginner looking for first 3D printer

Hello, I would like to buy my first 3D printer, I''ve never ordered one and I am looking for the first printer to buy. To begin I want to print mainly TPU for my FPV drones and probably PETG or PLA to create custom boxes for my electronic components and devices or custom boxes for my electronic projects. Reading online a lot of users are suggesting Bambu Lab printers. The A1 mini is a little bit to smaller so I was thinking about the A1 without AMS, I am not interested in multicolor and I don't like the open design that I think is not ideal for occasional printing. My main doubt is that a bedslinger may be a limiting factor if I decide to print ABS one day, but the P1S is too expensive so I was looking at Quidi CoreXY printers. What do you suggest? I don't want to have something where I struggle to obtain a good print but I am also afraid of jumping in a closed ecosystem with Bambu...

2024.06.01 12:27 DrVeigonX .

I'd expect the vast majority of the people who oppose what Israel is doing in Palestine are not loudly chanting at protests.
Again, you're entirely ignoring the point. If something is chanted by thousands, it's either a common belief, or at least one propagated by the leaders of the movement. Just because it doesn't fit with your perspective doesn't mean you can dismiss it.
Then why does the article I linked clearly show leaflets advising civilians to evacuate to the area where the strike occurred?
Did you look at the map? The leaflet very clearly says The Humanitarian Area, which extends into northern Tal As Sultan. The map pretty clearly shows that.
Do you not think it at all suspicious that Israel have a recording of the event that would very clearly exonerate them, and yet have not released it or even claimed that their recording shows this?
Jesus christ my guy, they literally did release the footage. Just because you refuse to look it up doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
They literally did release footage of the strike itself. Footage in which you can see that the aerial map they released is correct, as the buildings surrounding the area in the video are the same as the ones for where they claimed the strike is in the map they released. In the map, btw, you can see that the area of the strike is removed from the tents. All of this is in the articles I linked.
don't think you've quite appreciated the difference between "footage" and "footage that shows X".
Just because you refuse to do any sort of personal deliberation and expect to be handed every piece of information on a spoon doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
We do know it was one of those small munitions, as I already said. Another thing we simultaneously know is that those small munitions could start a fir
And another thing we know is that the area where the strike occoured is removed from the tents. In fact both claimed locations of the strike are removed from the tents; both the IDF's and even Hamas' claims for where the strike occoured show them over 100 meters from where we know the fire started. Why do you drop that piece of information?
The IDF's claimed location is even entirely removed from the tents by an open area, and Hamas' claim has the entirety of the UN facility between the strike and the tents- a UN facility which didn't catch fire. So unless the fire somehow managed to spread across 100 meters of open field, or go around an entire aid distribution facility without anyone noticing, it's pretty safe to say that the bomb didn't start the fire.
Again, all of this is in the articles I linked. Just because you refuse to do any deliberation of your own doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
From where those tents were, sure. That doesn't mean there wasn't flammable material lying around that could have triggered a fire that reached those tents. Fuel, for example.
For 100 meters straight? And around a UN facility- but without it catching fire? And no one thought to mention it anywhere? That's some amazing fuel!
Then why have you decided that it is true, when the footage from those Palestinians does not show a secondary rocket explosion, and when the Israeli footage would show this if it had happened that way?
The footage from the Palestinians only started after the fire. And I'm not claiming it's true, I'm explaining to you why Israel is still investigating the matter, because you claimed that "if they claimed this then they should have all the footage!" When they aren't the ones who made that claim. Just like you and I, they are also investigating the fire.
Also, I brought them up because you were literally just dismissing that information because it came from Israel, even when it literally came from Palestinians.
Not even the Americans trust Israel to deliver aid
I'm sorry but you seem to have an entirely incomplete image of how the aid distribution works in Gaza. No, the Americans do trust Israel to coordinate aid. But that's just that, Israel doesn't deliver the aid, it coordinates it. What does that mean? Israel gathers all the aid donations, loads them unto trucks, and brings those trucks to Kerem Shalom or Erez. From there, the trucks are picked up by the UN and NGOs who then distribute them.
The problem with Gazan aid was distribution, as a lot of aid failed to reach its destination, and Israel refused to get involved in distribution. Israel literally had a backlog of hunderds of trucks which they already vetted, but we're waiting to be picked up by the UN.
The pier was opened because the US believed it would make distribution easier. But what happened after it opened? Did you intentionally leave that piece of information out?
I'll tell you.
70% of it was stolen. https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/20658/gaza-aid-stolen
Because the problem wasn't with Israeli coordination, it was with distribution. Those are two different things.
Yes, the conditions the population of Gaza were forced into for the past eight months were indeed extremely bad
Again, are you intentionally ignoring the point or are you just missing it? Yes, the situation of Gazans is dire. You still fail to explain how Rafah having houses for 171k people somehow makes it better for the remaining 1.5 million over a zone specifically designed to house large numbers of displaced people.
A few ideas - instead of bombing absolutely everything, focus attacks on clear military targets.
Thank you man! Why didn't they think of that?
I swear that people with no military experience will act like they're the chief of the Pentagon when it comes to this conflict.
I actually was in the military, so let's set a few things straight. when fighting guerilla warfare, there are no clear military targets. That's literally the definition of urban guerilla warfare. Embedding yourself within the urban environment and within civilians to fight against a stronger enemy. It isn't like there's buildings marked as "HAMAS HEADQUARTERS" that Israel can just attack and leave everyone else alone. Hamas very intentionally and very openly hides themselves within the civilian population and areas, hence why to attack them, you have to remove the civilians from the region via evacuation. That's literally how every urban conflict against a guerilla force in history was done. It was how the US fought against the Taliban in the cities of Afghanistan, it's how Iraqi forces fought against ISIS in Mosul, and its how the coalition fought against ISIS in Raqqa.
In fact, Raqqa and Mosul both saw far more destruction than Gaza did; with Gaza's figures suggesting 70% of the buildings were damaged to some capacity, where in Mosul some estimates go up to 80% or even 90%. When an enemy embeds themselves in a civilian population, there's no easy way of fighting them. Urban guerilla warfare is quite literally the ugliest form of combat.
As you mention the bombs, you seem to be under the impression they are just dropped for funsies. Like, "Oh, I feel like dropping a 2000 lbs bomb today! How about we do that here?"
It shows complete ignorance of military doctoring and combat. 2000 lbs bombs are also known as "bunker busters". Can you guess why? Because their impact is powerful enough to burst through the ground and collapse underground bunkers. Which might be useful when, oh, I don't know, your enemy has 500 Kilometers of tunnels weaving under your feet?
Lastly, you bring up the World Kitchen strike as some sort of Gotcha, but it perfectly encapsulates your cognitive dissonance. You're amplifying one incident over thousands of other successful strikes, and an incident even the head of World Kitchen said was a mistake. A mistake for which two of thw IDF's top generals were fired.
You're not the first person I say this to, and sadly, you won't be the last. But if you have no knowledge of military, don't try to act like you do. It just makes it seem like you're under the dunning Kruger effect.

I am a 34y/o F with an AMH of 4.3 and unexplained infertility.
My RE is starting me on the microdose flare protocol for my next egg retrieval. I don't have the full details yet but everything I read online shows this is for folks with DOR or poor responders.
My last 2 egg retrievals, I had an AFC of about 24 most of which (21) were retrieved the first cycle. The second cycle I ovulated before the retreival and lost most of my eggs. My issue is making blasts.
I am just wondering if anyone who didn't have DOR or wasn't a poor responder has done the microdose flare protocol? How did it go for you ?

2024.06.01 12:25 simpeltechlabsai How can I learn JavaScript online?

JavaScript is a widely used programming language that has ruled the software development technology stack for over a decade.
You can find JavaScript in web applications, mobile applications, or apps for your desktop.
According to a survey done by Statista in 2022, JavaScript developer communities worldwide have about 17.4 million members, and they're growing.
There are also a number of JavaScript frameworks and libraries, like React, Angular, and Vue, that are solving varied use cases and customer problems. And there are many resources available online and in textbooks to learn JavaScript.
Despite the language being so useful and well-known, many JavaScript developers still need help to learn the language confidently. They might be able to complete their day-to-day development tasks using JavaScript with some help, but may need clarification on the underlying concepts. And they may struggle to debug issues and solve customer problems on time.
This article doesn't aim to teach you JavaScript at all. It would be wonderful if you could actually learn JavaScript from such a short article, right.
Instead, this article aims to teach you How to learn JavaScript to help you become a confident JavaScript developer. I'll talk about strategies and concepts that are essential to understand before you learn JavaScript to make your learning more effective.
Programming Concepts vs JavaScript in Particular
To begin with, separate the basic programming concepts from JavaScript specifically. These basic programming concepts are common among most programming languages.
Learning them well will help you to pick up any programming languages easily. Some fundamental programming concepts are:
Variables: In programming, variables are the human-readable names you provide to a memory location that stores a value. For example, car, students, and oranges are variable names.
Values: A value is something that we usually manipulate, change, or use to create other values. We assign values to variables. For example, Honda can be the value of the car variable.
Data Types: Data types indicate the particular type of a value like number, string, boolean, and others.
Operators: Operators in programming are symbols that help us perform operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, concatenation, and so on.
Conditions and Control Flow: Conditions in programming are statements that result in some actions. It's like if this happens, then do that, otherwise do some other thing.
Loops: Loops in programming are about repeating a bunch of tasks in the same sequence under a specific condition. There are different loops available in programming languages, and some common ones are a for-loop, while-loop, and do-while-loop.
Functions: Functions are a block of code you want to execute over and over again rather than repeating it everywhere. You create a function by giving it a name and a bunch of instructions to execute when you invoke it.
Environment: The programming environment allows developers to code, test, build, and deploy. The base principle remains the same for each aspect of the environment, but the technology may differ for different programming languages.
Debugging: Debugging is the art of finding and fixing problems in your code. You must know how to debug code irrespective of the language in which the code has been written.
All the points mentioned above are basic programming concepts. As a JavaScript developer, you must be familiar with these concepts.
The JavaScript Topics Mind Map
When you pick up a JavaScript topic to learn, you start by going over any resources that you find helpful. It's an excellent first step, but more is needed for effective learning.
The effective way is to create a mind map of JavaScript topics and guide your learning. It will help you to know the concept well and familiarise yourself with related concepts. Another advantage of mind maps is with multiple topics, you form an intersection of common sub-topics to go over multiple times.
Here is an example of a mind map to learn the JavaScript this keyword. As you can see, the flow of topics moves logically through progressive concepts to help you get a foundational understanding of the this keyword in JavaScript.
In conclusion,
Mastering JavaScript requires a solid grasp of fundamental programming concepts and strategic learning methods. By utilizing tools like mind maps and focused resources, you can build a strong foundation. XP Labs provides comprehensive online software training with full placement guarantees, ensuring you become a confident JavaScript developer ready for the industry.

2024.06.01 12:24 cassiamosdell The Impact of a Psychologist's Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Students: Reflections on Dr. Cassia Mosdell's Work

In the field of psychology, advocacy is often as important as therapy itself. This is particularly true when it comes to supporting marginalized communities such as the LGBTQ+ population. One psychologist who has made significant strides in this area is Dr. Cassia Mosdell.
Dr. Mosdell, a licensed psychologist with over two decades of experience, has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ students. Her work in this area has not only provided support for these students but has also sparked important conversations about inclusivity and acceptance in educational settings.
One of the most notable instances of Dr. Mosdell’s advocacy work occurred during her tenure at Shore Middle School in Piscataway. Here, she organized an LGBTQ+ awareness event and championed an inclusive curriculum. These initiatives were designed to create a safe and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ students, promoting understanding and acceptance among all students.
However, these efforts were met with resistance. Dr. Mosdell was allegedly fired from her position for her advocacy work. This incident highlighted the challenges faced by advocates for LGBTQ+ rights, particularly in conservative or traditional environments.
Despite these challenges, Dr. Mosdell’s work has had a profound impact. Her advocacy has brought attention to the unique struggles faced by LGBTQ+ students, highlighting the need for inclusive education and support services. Her story has inspired others to take up the cause, leading to increased awareness and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues in schools.
Furthermore, Dr. Mosdell’s work has underscored the important role that psychologists can play in advocating for marginalized communities. Psychologists are uniquely positioned to understand and address the mental health challenges faced by these communities. By advocating for their rights and needs, psychologists like Dr. Mosdell can help to create a more inclusive and supportive society.
In conclusion, Dr. Cassia Mosdell’s advocacy for LGBTQ+ students serves as a powerful example of the impact that psychologists can have beyond the therapy room. Her work has sparked important conversations, challenged prejudices, and paved the way for greater inclusivity in schools. While she has faced challenges along the way, her unwavering commitment to her cause is a testament to her dedication and passion.

Hopefully, you're around 23-26 years old, stands 5'7 and up, working, furdad, family-oriented, is nerdy about his hobbies and goals in life, hopefully with the same interests as mine, lifestyle doesn't revolve around smoking/clubbing (non-negotiable), and is a very expressive individual who likes to tell stories and yap about life. (Still, feel free to dm if you're interested)
I haven't been on a physical date as meeting people makes me anxious, so I'd appreciate if we got to know each other online first—slowburn and careful. If you know you have ghosting tendencies or is only in it for a temporary companion, please spare the effort of building any connections.
If this interests you, an introduction that actually highlights you being you will be appreciated. Thanks! = )

2024.06.01 12:20 seansnow64 What if for Assassin's Creed's 20th Aniversarry the remade the one that started it all?

Okay so recently i have been going through and replaying a few of my favorite game franchises, ya know relive the good days. The past few days ive been replaying the OG first Assassin's Creed; the one that started it all. And while i gotta say it doesnt hold up great like it did way back when it came out in 2007, its still a very fun game. All this time replaying it tho has got me thinking, what if for AC's 20th Aniversary coming up in a few years they not only remasted the game but also gave it a complete mechanics and gameplay overhaul. Giving us a proper 20th Aniversary edition!
What would you like to see in such a remake that deserves to exist? what features from games that have come out since would you like to see revisted? How could they expand on the game making it feel more fleshed out but all the while still keeping to the core of what the first game was?...
Ill start, personally i would absolutely love if they revisted Assassin's Creeds competitive multiplayer that they had from Brotherhood to Black Flag. Giving us a fresh set of maps set in the Holy Land to have fun in with friends online. They could even monitise such a feature by releasing map packs + plus character bundles for each game in the franchise as DLC. I know id pay for a multiplayer experience in settings from games we never got to experience it in. And frankly ive missed the multiplayer, i have such fond memories from when i was in highschool playing online with my friends.

2024.06.01 12:20 Normodox Human rights NGO Amnesty International had a booth at the Detroit People's Conference for Palestine, which featured terrorist group members as speakers, honored and quoted terrorists, and promoted armed action against the state of Israel.

In a video posted by event co-organizer Palestinian Youth Movement on Instagram, an Amnesty booth could be seen in the vendor fair at the May 24-26 conference.

Human rights NGO Amnesty International had a booth at the Detroit People’s Conference for Palestine, which featured terrorist group members as speakers, honored and quoted terrorists, and promoted armed action against the State of Israel.
In a video posted by event co-organizer Palestinian Youth Movement on Instagram, an Amnesty booth could be seen in the vendor fair at the May 24-26 conference.
Amnesty USA confirmed that it had a table “to share our organization’s work around the world, especially in the ongoing conflict in Gaza,” and “offered participants the opportunity to join our petition calling for a ceasefire in Gaza,” but emphasized to The Jerusalem Post that it did not sponsor or help organize the conference.
“Participating at a conference such as this does not mean we support all the statements made during the conference, nor does it mean we support all participants,” said Amnesty USA Senior Campaign Manager Isra Chaker.
The event featured Wisam Rafeedie, who was noted in previous Amnesty reports as an activist for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – an organization listed by the US State Department as a foreign terrorist organization.
Rafeedie, who spoke remotely on Sunday because he was denied a visa, described Israel as a racist project and assured the crowd that there was “no place for the two-state solution for any Palestinian.”
He described Hamas as part of the “Palestinian people’s liberation movement, like all the resistance factions in Gaza, both Islamic and leftist.” He also encouraged participants to go on social media to dispute the events of the October 7 massacre, such as how the “resistance” engaged in “sexual assaults, killing children, and beheadings.”
Conference keynote speaker Sana’ Daqqah, wife of PFLP terrorist Walid Daqqah, spoke on Sunday in a hall named for the deceased terrorist. Daqqah died of bone marrow cancer in an Israeli prison on April 8. He was originally imprisoned for commanding the PFLP cell that abducted, tortured, and murdered Israeli soldier Moshe Tamam in 1984.

Event praises terrorist Walid Daqqah, endorses PFLP

The conference panel repeatedly referenced, praised, and quoted Daqqah and other terrorists, including Bassel al-Araj, Ibrahim al-Nabulsi, Udai Tamimi, former PFLP spokesperson Ghassan Kanafani, and convicted murderer Assata Shakur of the Black Liberation Army.
The event was endorsed by leading PFLP member Salah Salah in a May 20 Palestinian Youth Movement Instagram video.
The conference saw the frequent glorification and advocacy on behalf of the armed “resistance” as a means of achieving the ultimate objective: the destruction of the State of Israel.
“It’s very fortifying to be here with you all. This has been a marathon of eight months but for many of us, a lifelong struggle to dismantle Zionism in the State of Israel,” International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network co-founder Sara Kershnar said on a Saturday panel on Zionism and US Imperialism. “IJAN approaches the work first and foremost following the demands for the full liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea, and we stand in our own history when we do that. We stand in our own history of resistance to genocide, including the right to resist and armed resistance as part of that history. In that way, we are unequivocally with the resistance in Palestine.”
At the opening speech on Friday, activist Yar Shoufnai explained that “eight months into this war against the most well-funded militaries of the Western world, the Palestinian resistance had demonstrated to our people, to our enemy, and to the entire world the meaning of dignity of honor or resilience and of glory.”
She continued, boasting that “the Zionist occupation continues to suffer deep humiliation, both on the battlefield in Gaza and on the world stage at the hands of the mass movement that we have built. Gaza has been transformed into the graveyard of the Merkava tank, the Namer troop carrier, the D9 bulldozer, and the occupation.”
Also on Friday, American Muslims for Palestine Outreach and Community Organizing Associate Director Taher Herzallah claimed that “the long tentacles of Zionism have always reached deep into the American heartland. Like no other place in the world, Zionism has penetrated the depths of American society – economics and politics for decades.”
“They’re losing a public narrative battle; they’re losing their ability to control us, and this means that now the gloves are off, and quite frankly, anything is possible,” Hezallah said on the War on Palestine panel. “I caution you of the days to come, because they will not be easy. There are people among us today who might not be with us next year at this conference, and this is a reality because the liberation struggle requires sacrifice, and I know everyone here is prepared to make that sacrifice.”
Palestinian Youth Movement Houston’s Mohammed Nabulsi, who served as conference MC throughout the three-day event, led the conference participants in chants calling for intifada and praising Hezbollah and Houthi maritime terrorism.
“Yemen, Yemen, make us proud, turn another ship around,” said Nabulsi, who opened the conference by honoring fighters in tunnels in Gaza.
Amnesty’s presence at the conference was not the only controversial attendance. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib also made a surprise Saturday speech at the event, and Dearborn Michigan Mayor Abdullah Hammoud delivered a video address.

2024.06.01 12:19 EveryReason2485 A Bit Of an Early Post About My Enquiries.

I'm a student who's planning to study in Germany. I took my Goethe B1 Exam last week and hoping that I'll pass and continue working on my language. Applying to universities all around Germany as well. But this post isn't the one to enquire but more of just to catch a feeling about y'all. Social media is toxic and we all know that, IG has been pushing a lot of German Political Content to my feed from both sides the AFD which to my understanding doesn't like international student (Especially ones from the middle east like myself) and the other sides which promotes that Germany and the German people welcome anyone who's willing to come to their land and work and create a family and a life there (AKA be a normal productive member in society). I also have an American friend (F34) who told me that the later way of thinking is more common. But I didn't actually take her words to the heart as things maybe different based on place of origin and where you're planning to live in Germany. So I thought that I'd take it to reddit and ask the people directly. How do you feel about international students in general? and according to my experience online I'll answer a question in advance: If I hopefully had the opportunity to move to Germany (Visa & Admission Letter and the rest...) then I'm not planning to just benefit from the tuition free education and leave Germany for a better place, I actually want to create a stable life if I had the chance and even work on achieving my dreams inside of Germany because my field - as I heard - is still growing and has tons of potential for development in Germany and because (this one is a personal reason) I like way y'all are specifically the dry sense of humor and Ruhezeit makes Germany attractive to me as a place. As I've said, this is not the full post because things aren't clear yet and idk if I'd get the chance, but I was really working on that chance for the past year and I hope that I'll get it. Thanks for reading <<3
Edit: I labeled it as Tourism wrongly, so sorry. I meant to label it as "Student" stuff. Edit 2: tons of typos, as someone who can't help but correct people, please feel free to correct what I did not correct now.

2024.06.01 12:18 Shamanhris Really fast interview process until I provided them with a counter-offer, am I silently declined?

Hello reddit,
I am overthinking and I would love to hear your opinion on the situation.
On the 14th of May I sent my CV to a company, offering a specific position, my CV was checked on the 15th of May and I received a phone call , the same day, for my first interview - online, for the 17th.
The interview went well, and they told me that they will give me a feedback within 2-3 business days - I guess they liked me, cause they gave me a feedback literally 30 min after the interview, asking for a date for the second one - in their office. This happens on the 17th of May and my second interview was scheduled for the 22nd of May.
After the 2nd interview, I received an offer on the 27th of May ( which is literally the next working day for us ), where it was mentioned that I have time until the 29th to let them know if I accept or decline.
On the 28th, a day after the offer, I informed them that I would love to join them, if they offer a little bit more start salary, since I do not want to start a new position with less salary than the current one, on which the HR replied that they will discuss it with the staff and inform me via email/phone call.
Today, 1st of June, no calls, no email - am I silently declined? They had a super fast process, even the HR phoned me on the 28th asking for information before I told her my offer. Now, 3rd day in a row without any information.. what do you think?
Also, is it fine to message the HR this Monday, asking if there are any updateS?

2024.06.01 12:17 Ok_Reply_9633 My partner recently came out that she may be asexual or graysexual after I cheated online. Help…?

I cheated on my gf, for over a month online. To make a a long story short, we had a long discussion and still currently are. It’s come out that she may be asexual or graysexual and I’m so deeply in love with her I don’t care that I won’t have sex or I’ll have little sex or some weird in between. As a partner, I felt like she was disgusted with me , bc we had sex often when we first got together but not ALL the time. And it eventually dwindled down to her not wanting to make out with me and always rejecting pleasuring me but will let me pleasure her from time to time. So I just felt….ugly yk. How can I cope? I’m searching for help and support. Please be nice. I’m learning and growing, as she is and I wanna support and help and stay with her during this time. I know it’s a lot going on in this situation…
