2024.05.10 15:05 supertramp1978 My LAST Sale: A Trio of PM2's, A Large Sebenza with extra scales, A hand ground McNees, Deathgrip 940 Ti Scales, Null Voodoo, and More!

Happy Friday!
The time has finally come for me to move on from the knife game. It's been a great ride, but literal riding is taking precedence once again in the form of a new motorcycle.
For those who are curious, after 321 swaps I've decided to keep a custom Boo's Blades Aero, and a REK 940 harpoon in Cruwear, with RSD scales, hardware, back spacer, and clip.
It's highly likely this will be my last foray into the Swap, so I wish you all happy hunting!
Much love,
Tramp

STAMPAGE

The Wares:

Beater PM2

Maxamet
SV/90
Franken knife, with a patina'd and poorly sharpened blade (not by me), and some AWT scales I experimented on by removing ano, sanding, polishing, etc. They don't look good, but they function perfectly. Many owners. No box. Needs love, but it could be a gem again with minimal effort. Also comes with Grey G10 scales (pictured in timestamp). SOLD

Spyderco PM2

BD1N
SV/130
This is a catch and release for me, as I had intended to do a scale swap. Little did I know that this particular model has only the lock side liner. I'm the second owner to my knowledge, and it's it great shape overall. Has a few small nicks near the clip on the butt end of the scales (see video). Second owner to my knowledge. Comes with knife Taco only. SOLD

Spyderco PM2 Tanto w/ Regrind

S30V
SV/250
I want to love Spydercos, I really do. But I have had all but the Nirvana and I still can't seem to make myself hold on to them. This particular PM2 is the illusive Tanto and sports a nice regrind from Doc Funky. It's crazy thin behind the edge and will slice reality itself if pressed. Edge appears unused. This is also paired with Aramis contoured G10 Scales which really transform the feeling in hand and look great. Also comes with a lynch clip. Action is drop shut with zero blade play. No box. Second owner that I know of. SOLD

Deathgrip 940 Ti Scales

SV/110
If you haven't experienced Deathgrip scales, you're missing out. Easily some of the best I've ever seen. The milling, contouring, and attention to detail are second to none. The fit is perfection (comes with hardware from DG), and the feel is sublime. Ice blue color and no snails that I can find. Second owner to my knowledge. Mounted for a week, then I found that the REK reblade is a wee bit too long for them. Sliced myself nicely. Sad panda. These retail for 215, but I got a great deal and am passing it on. SOLD

Cerebus PM2 Butterscotch Paper Micarta Scales

SV/50 I picked these up new to slap on that sweet Tanto, but that never happened. Paper Micarta, look great, never mounted. Super light and very grippy. SOLD

Null Voodoo

M390
SV/315
This has everything I could want in a knife, but I'm trying to cut it back to 3 total so it has to go. I'm the second owner to my knowledge. Brown Micarta and Ti, with a polished stonewashed blade. Looks like it was sharpened decently. Action is great, no scratches on the blade and no snails that I can find anywhere on the scales, etc. Comes with the box.

CRK Large Sebenza w/ Milled Show Scales and Extras

S45VN
SV/550
The same thing applies here. I've had dozens of CRK's and just don't seem to hold on to them. They're great knives, but I rarely reach for them. This Sebenza has a milled scale - identical to the Wilson combat version, but without the CRK logo, which I found on Etsy. I also nabbed a Ti clip from them that's far better than the stock CRK unit. The finish is identical to CRK. The action is pretty much as good as they get with a Sebenza (see video). I polished the washers, and this helps a great deal. DOB is: Sept 16th, 21 (The other scales and accessories are in the DOB link). There are some snails on the OG show scale and lock side scale and the milled one currently installed, which happens as soon as you touch a sand blasted CRK. I honestly prefer them broken in. I've also swapped the thumb stud to Ti Connector studs. They are night and day better than the garbage CRK units. You're welcome. This also comes with an Ultem show scale from Pacific Sons on ETSY. fit is perfect and action is the same as the Ti. Lightens it up dramatically and balances the knife perfectly just behind the pivot. Second owner. Has been used lightly and carried. Comes with box, OG Ti show scale, Milled Ti show scale, Ultem Show scale, Original clip, Etsy Ti clip, add on lanyard (dark blue), grease and lock tite.

McNees MAC 2 3.5 *GEN 2 - Hand Ground/Finished

Magnacut
SV/535
This one is a very hard one to part with. I've had at least a half dozen McNees blades, but this one blew the rest out of the water. It's hand ground and finished by Jonathan himself and one of the first batch of Gen 2's to hit the market. I know, the current hand grinds are all satin, but this is legit. Look at the height of the grind - the Magnacut logo doesn't even fit on the flats. The hollow grind is also deeper than the normal production type, and the finish feels more painstakingly done. The blade was professionally sharpened by the last owner and it one of the best edges I've seen on a blade. Sticky sharp and cleaaaaaan. Fully drop shut, unlike some of the shake shut nonsense I've seen try to pass off as such. Is a definite finger remover, so watch yourself. Blade has been cut (lightly) with, and the clip has a snail. Second owner. Comes with the OG Box and papers. SOLD

2024.05.03 09:59 wordswithoutmusic Aprilia: The starting signal for the 850 has already been given

Google translated
The new basic MotoGP rules will be known by the next MotoGP event, which will take place in Le Mans the weekend after next. The core element here will be a displacement limitation of a maximum of 850 cc. The main argument used by manufacturers, promoters and teams is the need not to allow performance and thus the maximum top speed to escalate any further.
A drastic limitation of devices currently in use as well as the restriction of aerodynamic components are also considered certain. It is therefore clear that for all committed works it is about a completely overhauled overall concept - and not about cosmetic measures.
Now that the negotiations have dragged on due to disagreements (to freeze the development of the currently homologated racers), but a general decision is considered certain, it is long past time to put the ideas into action. For the development of a completely new and race-ready MotoGP motorcycle, even 2.5 years is a sporting assumption.
If you take the calendar to hand, it is clear that in November for the 2026 season finale, all manufacturers involved must have completed all essential homework. From here until the start of the season, which is expected to take place in March 2027, it will be about coordination work. Because the leading manufacturers are running out of time, concept work is already being carried out in the factories
Aprilia, that much is certain, has already left the concept phase. Romana Albesiano, spoke about the new Aprilia for the 2027 MotoGP season despite the serious format adjustment that has not yet been finally confirmed. The chief technician of the racing department in Noale told his colleagues from “Moto Sprint” from Italy: “We have already started working on the motorcycle for Started in 2027, at the most important points that, in our view, are fixed. The first part we are working on is the engine, which must already be included in a layout of the motorcycle." Like KTM, Ducati and Honda, Aprilia is currently using a four-cylinder in a V configuration and there is much to suggest that the basic concept will be retained.
Albesiano also commented on the busy schedule and the difficulty of developing on two tracks in the coming years. «Each team will try to get the new bike on the track in spring 2026, if not before, and then we'll see. This will divert resources from the development of the motorcycle, which will be used until 2026. This is a major commitment for manufacturers.”
In fact, the situation represents an immense task, especially in view of the resources available. According to the Italian, it can be assumed that despite the new regulations there will be no stop in development for the current MotoGP generation. Continuous engine, chassis, electronics and aero updates to a parallel new development for 2027, that could completely turn the current balance of power in the premier class dominated by manufacturers from Europe on its head.
When it comes to energy and personnel, the two major powers from Japan continue to have a leading position. Honda in particular will play the situation massively into their hands.

2024.04.30 18:27 Android17isthegoat Seeking Advice for First Motorcycle Purchase: Finalist Selection

Hey everyone,
I'm finally taking the plunge and purchasing my first motorcycle! After much research(reddit) and months of saving up money and searching of FB marketplace, I've narrowed down my choices to a quite a handful of finalists.
However, I could really use some advice from experienced riders before making my final decision since nobody in my family are into bikes. I'm the black sheep when it comes to this lol. (Pops even said "When it comes to motorcycles, I know jack shit"
Here are the bikes I'm considering. I'll include pics and fb description/price. I'll be using google translate since the descriptions are in spanish.
  1. Rebel 2001 250cc: $3,500 Complete original in my name, new battery runs perfect. Cash only.
  2. Honda Rebel CMX300A: 790miles $6000 or BO -ABS -DOHC -Fuel Injection -6 speed manual -3 gal fuel tank -Title in hand in my name
  3. 2017 Honda rebel: $4,500 Sold due to lack of use, one owner, tag expired in January. Includes original rear storage (not pictured)
  4. Orange Rebel: $2,300. Ready to transfer tag up to date in my name
  5. Suzuki marauder 800: $3,000. Ready to transfer.
  6. Zusuki Marauder 800 2003: Suzuki marauder, 800 engine, year 2003, tag and papers up to date for transfer, call if you are interested.
  7. Honda Shadow Aero 750 2005: $3,350 Honda Shadow Aero 750 2005 motor, in good condition. The motorboat is for daily use, it has 11 thousand miles, new tires and up-to-date maintenance.
  8. KTM DUKE 200 2022: $3,500 Up to date with everything, ready for transfer. Label until December.
  9. Honda Rebel 1986 CMX 250c: $1,400 Honda Rebel 1986 CMX 250cc in my name no label, new seat, tires, new cloche and lights For its year this good runs anywhere omo
  10. Honda CM250C 1982: $2,800. It's in excellent conditions.
  11. Kawasaki zr 750: $2,610 · Daily use, this good one runs very well
And that's all of em. As ya can see, most are cruiser bikes b/c that's what I really really like. As well as rebel b/c most of my research had them pegged as good beginner bikes.
Maybe worth mentioning.
And Like I mentioned in title post, this would be my first beginner bike. I live in a rural area(boonies, dead end street, good for practicing)

2024.04.22 13:22 Early-Attention-1314 Wheel and tire fitment

Does anyone know if a 19 inch front wheel off a shadow spirit will fit an 04 aero? Don't have the cash to spare for another new tire but I have a spirit parts bike with a good front tire on it. The aero I ride has a 17 inch where the spirit is a 19. Also any tips on how to make these tires last longer would be much appreciated! I had a new metzeler 999 mounted on front around July of last year and it's time for another one! I don't ride year round btw. I live in Georgia so it's too cold for me from early October til the end of March, beginning of April. I used to be a tire tech , but for cars up to eighteen wheelers. Never had done motorcycle tires. I put a shinko 777 on the rear at the end of February and it seems to be a good one. Any other brands that I should look at or is this normal for bikes to need tires every year?

2024.04.17 08:36 Ok_Gur_4020 Looking into first bike

I’m currently working on my m1 license and am trying to figure out what bike I’d wanna start out with, started lookin at Hondas and really loved the classic look of the Shadow Aero and was dead set on that for a while and thought modern looking cruisers were ugly. Until I heard about Indian motorcycle, which i understand are not good BEGINNER bikes. Went to a dealer not too long ago and one of the dealers told me that the shadow was NOT a good starter bike (which went against most of the stuff I’ve heard so far) because of its weight. I sat on it and did agree it was pretty heavy but on Google the weight is very close to the other bike he recommended. Being the Vulcan S which I only hear negative things about. That it’s a great starter bike but that after a few months it’s already boring. Any opinions on the Honda shadow, the Vulcan S, or suggestions on other starter bikes.

2024.04.09 15:09 Saab675R Saab repair vids and live stream. Interest?

Saab repair vids and live stream. Interest?
Any interest in watching a Saab dude tinker around? These shitboxes always need work so I have been thinking of live streaming some repairs and general maintenance. My knowledge is mostly with the 1999 to 2003 models as I have owned several since high school and have done nearly all the repairs myself, except for things like head and block machining and internal transmission assembly just from lack of proper tools and fear of goofing up beyond repair. The video project goals here are a push for me to get better with social media, share my limited Saab knowledge, and just try and have fun.
Any recommendations for people that do video and editing would be greatly appreciated. Phone is good but kinda annoying with file transfers especially on larger files and it’s also cumbersome when trying to position for a shot that’s tight or lacks lighting. Been thinking GoPro with body Mount or insta360 but I really need easy editing and long battery life and something where I can see what the screen see’s so I know the audience can see the visual clearly. Something that can run 2/3 hours or more at a time would be great without breaking the bank. Lighting is probably most important to consider. Recommendations are appreciated!
Current list of projects:
  • 99’ Viggen that’s been fully rebuilt but currently has shift issues and chasing a stray boost cut with no codes (maybe a small vacuum leak or evap issue). May also just be a tuning issue since the larger turbo is not mapped to the car yet. Planning on smoke test and going custom shift assembly mods to see if I can adjust it more to the current setup of the car. Replaced the driver axle seal Twice now and it’s still leaking, so now changing the housing and seal and swapping in spare axle.
  • 03’ 9-5 Aero needs a head gasket and general maintenance. Will probably pull entire mototranny for that and do some more stuff here and there. Rebuilt this one already a few years back but want a better quality gasket there since it’s pissing from all over.
  • 99’ SE track project car. Fully built b204 with custom turbo setup but it needs another going through to replace with higher quality gaskets and potentially have the valve seats changed (won’t be doing that in house as I don’t have the tools for it). Going to have all my covers coated like I did my viggen too. I could write a book on this project alone and it’s still not done. Currently doing full swap to another shell that’s been sitting at a body shop for 2 years. This was my high school car that got me into these cars in the first place. I could go on and on about what I have done on this car. Painful to even think about lol
  • Bought an 1990 900 SPG that’s the next project this summer after the others (9-5 and viggen) are addressed. This will be my first time around with the 900 so I’m excited to see how that all works.
  • I am also a licensed NY real estate broker, I ride and work on motorcycles, and have a kei truck I imported myself. Anyone want to chat about the Daytona 675, Subaru Sambar and importing a car yourself, Real Estate, and Saabs, feel free to join in the fun :) Always taking on new clients and happy to work with friendly fellow Saab people. Let’s go drip car fluids in other peoples driveways during house tours together!
Let me know the interest if any at all! Have fun Saabin’ it up everyone. Pic attached are the aforementioned whips ;)
  • Andre

2024.04.09 07:31 Particular_Way_1538 First cruiser bike? (short rider)

I’m looking into buying my first motorcycle. I want a cruiser; I know it’s important to find the bike that feels right for me, so I plan on going to a few different dealerships soon, and actually sitting on a few different bikes. I guess I would be considered a short rider (i’m 5‘6“ - 150lbs - 39m) so I know I’m going to want something with a relatively low seat, and maybe somewhat of a lower weight… as a result, I’ve been considering either the Honda shadow aero 750, or the Honda fury. Any thoughts/suggestions on these? Any other recommendations?
Eventually, I’m very interested in getting my hands on a used “fat boy low” … but not for a first bike.

Can you tell if this Aero is EFI or carbureted?
I went to see the Aero today, looking to get a shadow as my first big bike.
My knowledge and experience are quite limited as I only got into this hobby 6 months ago.
Anyway the owner claims this is a 2009 model, though it says on the gray card (equivalent of the title in the country I live in) that it was first purchased (in the united states) on December 1st, 2009.
Is it a 2009 or a 2010?
I'm asking because - from what I researched - Honda moved to EFI on the Shadows in 2010, the owner claims it's fuel injected but due to my limited experience with motorcycles I cannot tell.
Here are some pictures.
Thanks in advance!

🔗Durable AR-15 Atlas S-One Handguard for Enhanced Performance

I recently gave the Aero AR15 Atlas S-One a spin, and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. The slim profile of this handguard makes it a great choice for those who prioritize size and weight. It packs a punch when it comes to strength and stability thanks to Aero's durable Atlas attachment system.
And let me tell you, the Aero Taper Lock Attachment System (ATLAS) is both functional and visually stunning. The mirrored tapered locking nuts evenly distribute the clamping pressure, and the ratcheting detent makes the design secure while providing a positive registration during installation. Oh, and those hardware mounting parts? .
They're included, which makes life all the more convenient. Overall, it's a winner in the looks department and certainly does its job.

🔗Midwest Night Fighter M-lok, Fits AR-15, Black Handguard

https://preview.redd.it/geq41wvt79qc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f14ba4170bfae095847934fe45bba60520d33328
The Midwest Industries Night Fighter handguard is a sleek and durable accessory for your firearm. I've been using it for a few months now, and it definitely fits the bill. This handguard adds an extra layer of grip, making my firearm even more comfortable to handle in different environments. The black finish not only looks striking but also provides protection against wear and tear.
However, I did face some minor issues recently, like the occasional loosening of the attachments after continuous use. But overall, this product has proven to be quite reliable. Using it with my AR-15 felt smooth and seamless, with no discomfort or hindrance in my shooting experience. For someone who's looking for a tactical and handy attachment, this M-lok handguard is worth considering.

🔗Midwest Night Fighter 9.25" Handguard for AR Rifles

https://preview.redd.it/0fz5ktju79qc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=377086e582c8d6ee2861860a12ef3c33023230c5
As a seasoned shooter, I can hardly imagine finding a better handguard for my AR rifle than the Midwest Night Fighter 9.25". This sturdy product not only adds a striking aesthetics but it also serves the essential purpose of keeping my AR rifle safe and secure, especially during nighttime operations.
I particularly appreciate its durability, attributed to its high-quality construction featuring M-lok technology. The design is thought well, ensuring a perfect fit and impeccable balance for my AR rifle. However, I must admit, it weighs a bit more than anticipated, which makes handling slightly challenging at times.
One negative experience I had was when I tried to assemble it all by myself and struggled a bit in the beginning. However, once I got the hang of it, it started to make sense.
Overall, while it may not be the lightest tool in the shed, the Midwest Night Fighter 9.25" provides a secure hold to my AR rifle. I would recommend it to someone with a knack for tactical rifle gear.

🔗Premium Carbine AR-15 MLOK Rail System with Anti-Rotation Technology

https://preview.redd.it/g6b6grwu79qc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47dd3268dab5c137665e7d638c4485bb4377dd29
As someone who's had the chance to use the Mission First Tactical Extreme Duty Carbine Rail System, I must say - it's a game-changer for AR-15 enthusiasts. This 7-sided M-LOK rail system is sleek and stylish, with an anti-rotation tech that makes it incredibly dependable.
The anti-reflective coating is a thoughtful feature, reducing glares and reflections that could be a nuisance in various lighting conditions. The steel non-timing barrel nut adds durability to the mix, and the ultra-streamlined appearance just seals the deal.
Of course, like any product out there, it's not perfect. The only downside I noticed was the need for some minor adjustments during assembly, which might be a bit of a hassle for first-time users. But overall, this MFT Extreme Duty Carbine Rail System is a reliable and stylish addition to any AR-15 setup.

🔗Strike MLOK Rail 13.5 FDE Handguard

https://preview.redd.it/eqd4awgv79qc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74970bf4a77cd488fa3bfb662f2c5cd631a49b9f
Just recently, I had the chance to give the Strike MLOK Rail 13.5 FDE a try, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. This handguard, crafted by the skilled team at Strike Industries, is designed to stand the test of time, thanks to its top-notch components.
During my time with the rail, I found myself impressed by the sturdiness and precision it offered. The MLOK system was particularly noteworthy, providing a secure and streamlined connection to my firearm. On the downside, I did notice that, despite its durability, the rail could be heavier than some other options on the market.
Overall, the Strike MLOK Rail 13.5 FDE proved to be a reliable addition to my arsenal. Its robust construction and user-friendly design make it a solid choice for shooters of all skill levels.

🔗Blackhawk Handguard Fix 15" Anodized Finish

As I delved into using the Q SERT Handguard The Fix 15", I was impressed by how seamlessly it compatible with the Fix system made by the same brand. The sleek black anodized finish perfectly matched my firearm's aesthetic, making it a stylish addition that blended in well.
However, I did encounter a few minor hiccups during the attachment process. It wasn't as straightforward as I had hoped, which resulted in some frustration at first. On the bright side, the sturdy construction of the handguard provided a strong grip, offering a great improvement to my firearm's stability.
In conclusion, the Q SERT Handguard The Fix 15" proved to be an adequate solution for someone looking to upgrade their grip while maintaining their firearm's elegant appearance. With time and patience, it could be a great addition to your arsenal, but don't expect it to be a walk in the park.

🔗Stylish Blackhawk Handguard for Motorcycle Protection

I recently tried the Touratech Defensa Silver Handguard Bars for my KTM/Husqvarna. This handguard gave me a sense of security on my rides, providing durable protection for both my levers and myself. The high-strength aircraft-grade aluminum exoskeleton structure was forged for maximum impact resistance, making it a reliable choice. Plus, the sleek, textured matte finish complemented the modern angular design, giving the bars a stylish touch.
On the other hand, I found that the plastic shields could be more securely attached. Sometimes they would slide out of place, which was inconvenient during my rides. However, the optional integrated plastic shield structure, known as Defensa Expedition, did provide added protection and comfort. This feature was definitely a highlight, as it shielded me from rain and cold air on cooler rides.
Overall, the Touratech Defensa Silver Handguard Bars provided me with a balance of protection and style, making them a solid choice for adventure motorcyclists.

🔗Samson SXT 9" M-LOK Precision Handguard

https://preview.redd.it/pil5f90x79qc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e41cac2a9989ba552d3cc16a2902d9fd4ef725b3
The Samson SXT 9" M-LOK handguard is a sleek and sturdy addition to any firearm. It seamlessly attaches to the gun's barrel, thanks to the M-LOK system, and gives the gun a modern touch. The black finish complements any gun it's mounted on, giving it a professional and tactical look.
One of the things that really stood out to me during my experience with this product was its ability to stay secure even when facing recoil. I've had other handguards slip or loosen during firing, but not this one. It just stays put, firmly attached to the gun.
On the downside, I did notice that it's not as lightweight as some other options out there. Its sturdiness comes at a cost, I guess you could say. But overall, I think it's a small price to pay for the added security and durability it provides.
In summary, if you're looking for a reliable and sturdy handguard that can withstand a good amount of wear and tear, the Samson SXT 9" M-LOK is definitely worth considering. It may not be the lightest option on the market, but its solid construction and M-LOK system make it a great choice for those who value security and stability.

🔗Durable Enduro Handguard Kit - Polisport Touquet (Green)

https://preview.redd.it/k0fdc9lx79qc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6c474ff4893e233cd239deaf0ea75fb08571b60
The Polisport Touquet Handguard Kit, a Green gem designed for motocross enthusiasts, has become a staple for those seeking tough and reliable protection. Handcrafted with their patented Bright Durable Polypropylene technology, this bad boy boasts impressive durability, color retention, and UV ray resistance. The bolt holes are perfectly pre-drilled for the ultimate fit. The plastic pieces feature a high gloss finish and an on-target color palette that truly captures the soul of the original part.
However, installation isn't quite a walk in the park. You'll need to get crafty with drilling accelerator tubes and ensuring a snug fit that won't interfere with your controls. Radial master cylinders and ASV clutches may struggle with the tight fit, raising concerns for potential pinching and seizing. In the end, though, this protective handguard excels in offering robust protection against those inevitable spills, even if it takes some elbow grease to make it work.

🔗UFO Handguard Black - High-Quality and Durable Off-Road Plastic Protector

https://preview.redd.it/oxcx4c1y79qc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a1688a31016a49851953c3919fc32f1c0b171bf
I recently had the chance to try out the UFO Handguard, and let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations. First of all, I was drawn to its original factory shape, which matched the look of the genuine model perfectly. It blends seamlessly with the rest of my gun setup.
The durability of this handguard was a pleasant surprise. I took it for a spin off-road, and it held up like a charm. UFO's use of high-quality plastics produced in Italy definitely paid off.
Another thing I appreciated was the wide range of colors available. While I opted for the classic black, I've seen photos of others in vibrant hues that really make their guns stand out.
The installation process was a breeze, too. The plastics are drilled ready for easy mounting, and the flex and lightweight design made it feel incredibly comfortable while in use. With the 100% Made in Italy guarantee since 1977, I had no doubts about the longevity and performance of this handguard.
A quick note though: the images provided are more of a suggestion rather than a perfect representation of the actual product. But overall, my experience with the UFO Handguard has been top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their gun setup.

🔗Universal Handguard for Motocross and ATV Protection

https://preview.redd.it/m25bkzi489qc1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=adcf7f8e086d7dd6bf298fa6a4bea6862bec7a64
I had the opportunity to try out these JFG Racing Motorcycle Universal Handguards a couple of weeks ago, and I must say, they've been a game-changer for me. Riding off-road ATVs always comes with its fair share of hazards, and these handguards have been a lifesaver in protecting my hands from brush, rocks, mud, and cold wind.
The combination of PP Plastic and Aluminum Alloy used in making these handguards brings a robustness that I've never come across in other handguards I've tried in the past. They offer a substantial shield, giving me the confidence I need when tackling the roughest terrains.
One of the best things about these handguards is the extra room they provide. It's been a blessing for me, allowing easy access to brake cables and other devices without having to worry about cramming them in.
However, despite all the positives, there is one drawback I've observed. They aren't as streamlined as I'd like them to be. While protection is vital, aerodynamics have their importance, and the added bulk to these handguards does make a difference, albeit slightly.
Overall, with their robust design, ample space for additional devices, and their effective protection against off-road elements, these JFG Racing Handguards make a compelling choice for any adrenaline junkie out there.

Consider the environment in which the handguard will be used, and choose a material that suits your needs best. Consider the style and design of the handguard, keeping in mind factors such as the material, texture, and any additional features, such as integrated slings or rail systems. Choose a design that not only looks good but also functions well for your needs.

Installation and Maintenance

Ease of installation and maintenance can greatly impact your overall satisfaction with the A2 Handguard. Look for handguards that come with clear installation instructions and are compatible with your existing mounting system, such as Picatinny or Weaver rails. Additionally, consider the overall durability of the handguard and the ease of cleaning or replacing components if needed.

Budget

Lastly, consider your budget when selecting an A2 Handguard. There are handguards available at various price points, with different features and materials. Determine the balance between cost and functionality that best suits your needs.
Choosing the right A2 Handguard can greatly enhance your firearm's performance and comfort. By considering factors such as materials, compatibility, design, installation, maintenance, and budget, you can make an informed decision and find a handguard that meets your specific needs.

Never drive my Z. Thinking of selling. What do you guys think it's worth?
Ever since I got into motorcycles the Z has been put on the back burner. If it's nice enough outside to drive the Z I'm taking the bike. Plus I have three vehicles total and I think that's a little excessive. I'm paying registration and insurance for this car that just sits all the time. I have looked at KBB and FB marketplace for similar Zs with similar mileage. But mine is a base model. Usually those cars are sports or nismos. Needing some help pricing it. Mileage is right at 40,000. I have read through some threads here with the same question and the consensus seems to be to revert it back to stock. Which I agree with. But I'm wanting to get it out of my hair. Plus I sold the the oem suspension, oem base model body kit, oem base wheels, oem driver seat, oem exhaust. I kept the cats just because I know those are expensive to replace plus if someone bought it in a smog state they'd probably want those. The wheels no matter what anyone says I will argue add value. Especially considering the base 18s are not the best to look at. Worse comes to worse I have six 18in michelin pilot sport AS3 tires I can throw on some cheap reps and sell the Work wheels separate. I'm sure there is a buyer that would scoop this up if everything I have tweaked was to their liking. But that person may be hard to find. In my eyes what I have replaced is either OEM parts (Nismo Kit) or better than OEM.
I have all receipts for modifications and services.

2024.03.04 17:27 Biluxzi Riser fitment

I’m still fairly new to motorcycles so finding parts that would fit my motorcycle is a nightmare to me. I recently had my risers break on my 2005 honda shadow aero 750 and now I’m looking to get some new ones, but I don’t know how the fitments work and what specific risers I need. If y’all know the fitment my bike is, or how I could find out the fitment it would be greatly appreciated.🙏🏻

2024.02.28 07:11 r6racer Selling Tri Bike, Best Road bike replacement?

Best road bike replacement for a guy that just wants to have fun, do long rides for no reason and maybe a ironman here and there(I've done one)? Aero bike? Endurance bike? Canyon? Sworks? Colnago? 3t strada? So many overwhelming choices.
I live near mountains too so weve got tons of hills and we've got some really well maintained gravel trails too. I can probably even ride these if I have bigger tires (~28mm) I wouldn't even need gravel tires.
Im thinking just go with the coolest looking one. Leaning Aero cause I kinda find it fun being in the tucked in position (motorcycle thing) I have a wide-ish budget, if I can find something used less than $4k them then that'd be dope. I could stretch it out to $5k-$6k
Unless I am saving over an hour on a 112 mile bike ride then I don't care to keep the tri bike. It'll go to a good friend anyway that'll help find my road bike endeavor here

O'Neal SPYDE 2SERIES Helmet Best Motorcycle Helmet Under 200 Dollars for UTV.
Highlighted Specs:

Our Analysis:
Made for men and women, the O’Neal SPYDE 2Series is one of the best full face motorcycle helmet at $200. In fact, it is suitable for all types of bikes including UTV.
It would be unfair to not praise its interior structure that suits most head shapes. Also, this never gives neck fatigue.
However, it doesn’t really keep the head cool if worn for a long time. But for average use, this could be a go-to option. With a face shield, cushioned inner, cheek pad, liner, D-ring strap, and other options, it deserves to be on top.
Problem

Solution
The fitting of the D-ring strap seems loose.

Tighten out the D-ring strap by making a tight slip-knot to adjust the fitment.
No idea whether it is compatible with a mounted camera or not.

The manufacturer confirms good space inside the helmet to add a camera and speaker.
Benefits:

Drawbacks:

FreedConn BM2-S Modular Motorcycle Helmet– One of The Coolest Motorcycle Helmets with Bluetooth 3.0 Technology.
Highlighted Specs:

Our Analysis:
Coming to one of the coolest flip up motorcycle helmets, the FreedConn BM2-S has a pairing option for 2-3 riders under 800 meters.
From the looks to the function, it would beat others with its FM radio, GPS, and other options. You won’t need to even hold the phone to answer calls thanks to the MFB button.
Although the instruction seems fishy, it won’t be required must, as this helmet is easy to use. And, it is one of the best Bluetooth motorcycle helmet.
If anyone needs a comfortable, badass finish, and 2-stereo speakers that sound good, then it will be the one to blow their mind.
Problem

Solution
The cheek pad isn’t detaching.

To remove the cheek pad, it’s required to pull out the protruding tabs.
Don’t know if it comes with a battery or not.

The manufacturer made this helmet by adding a battery that can be recharged.
Benefits:

Drawbacks:

ScorpionExo COV-0105 Matte Black Helmet– One of The Cool Motorcycle Helmets for Rain.
Highlighted Specs:

Our Analysis:
More like an 80’s punk vibe, the ScorpionExo Cov-0105 is our pick as one of the cheap streetbike helmets for any weather. It protects the head from rain, snow, and sunlight easily.
With a 3-in-one radical design, it doesn’t give hassles like stress or a hot feel to the head. There’s also an option to take out the chin guard to improve aeration.
One thing we don’t like is fingerprint attaching to the visor. However, cleaning it will take only a minute. Looking into its lightness, impact-resistance, and the mist-free view, all of these will make you believe it’s worth the money.
Problem

Solution
Pulling out the visor seems puzzling.

Using the tab on the corner side will help take out the visor.
Confuse whether it fits sunglasses or not.

There is enough space to use glasses or sunglasses.
Benefits:

Drawbacks:

FreedConn Matte Black Bluetooth Helmet Best Modular Motorcycle Helmet for Safe Ride.
Highlighted Specs:

Our Analysis:
Designed for motocross, it is all about safety and reliability to use in the street, highway, or high trafficked areas. This also lessens the chances of brain injury or bad impact on the head.
Thinking of its users, the brand makes this helmet based and nudged in the chin side for ease of fit. It also includes a pair of black gloves to give the look of bold and daring.
Sadly, this helmet may have some wind noise issues when you ride in fast motion. But there should be no sound issue when riding at a normal pace.
To conclude, it is one of the best motorcycle helmet under $250 that includes Bluetooth connection, long lifespan, and battery life.
Problem

Solution
Clueless whether it will connect to other helmets or not.

The manufacturer claims it to pair with only FreedConn helmet or intercom.
The voltage power of the charger is unidentified.

The charger is 12-36V power.
Benefits:

Drawbacks:

AGV AGV-0281O4I0-003-XL K-1 Motorcycle Helmet– Vintage Option That Is Breathable.
Highlighted Specs:

Our Analysis:
Getting one of the best full face motorcycle helmet under $200 that ensure good aeration isn’t possible, right? Not anymore, as we have come across this helmet, it has 7 vents that help enter cold air and cut hot vapor.
The AVG K1 also has an aerodynamic shape that lets you wear it without causing direct skin friction. Plus, you don’t need to worry about the air pressure drag with this.
Unfortunately, the helmet is only made for ATV bikes. On a final note, it is a perfect one for anyone who likes to have a helmet that has a lateral field of vision, stability, and comfort in one package.
Problem

Solution
Fogged visor issue.

Pulling up the visor will solve the trouble.
The helmet feels too tight.

Taking out inner parts that help loosen the helmet as all parts are detachable.
Benefits:

Drawbacks:

Highlighted Specs:

Our Analysis:
Featured with a dark and clear visor, the ILM 953 Pro is a one-of-a-kind helmet that ensures a great field of view. It also ensures no issue with eye movement in bad climates like dirt or bugs.
We are very much in love with the inner pads that feel like the cherry on top when touching the face. Plus, your face won’t find the trouble of peak impulse.
But when talking to others through the microphone, it has a low sound issue. By raising the volume, you can solve that error.
In the end, it is one of the cheap motorcycle helmets with speakers, responsive voice commands, and good breathing room.
Problem

Solution
Can’t reach max volume.

Hitting the VOL+ button to raise the sound and makes sure the connected device volume is also at max volume.
Confused about how exactly it connects to 2 helmets at the same time.

Start by disconnecting all the devices, then click the button on both helmets to get the job done.
Benefits:

Drawbacks:

Our Analysis:
For those of you who want the best full face motorcycle helmet under 300 dollars that suits novice riders, the HJC i90 is your finest bet. With CAD tech, it is easy to use and highly reliable.
The comfort liner is well-made that absorbs sweat to the extent that you won’t have to fear itchiness. Besides, it has cushioned interior that gives support to the neck and face.
Although the price seems higher in numbers, thinking of all the features changes our attitude.
To wrap up, the looks, quality, durability, functionality, and added features are a chef’s kiss package altogether. And, that’s the reason why one should try it.
Problem

Solution
It becomes noisy at 75 mph.

Wearing earplugs or pads might solve the error for long-term use.
Fingerprint grim issue.

Using a visor wiper or clean cloth on the helmet will wipe out the dirt from the surface.

Chapter 2 – Factors That Are Important to Have in Under 300 Bucks Motorcycle Helmet, Exploring Available Types to Find the Right Candidate for Your Need & Brands That Produce Best Helmets Within the Specific Budget

That’s just compulsory, being aware of factors that play the most important role in picking the helmet you’re looking for. And also, a slight understanding of the available types along with why or not one of those fits your biking needs. Finally, three amazing brands produce the best helmets under that budget limit. Let’s cover all of these awfully important segments in this chapter.

How Do You Pick the Best Motorcycle Helmets Under 300 Bucks – You Consider These Must-Have Factors

You already know what we’re up for in this part, so let’s just start directly.

Ventilation is Such an ESSENTIAL Factor

This is something lot of beginners would not consider as an important factor, but it really is. The speed of riding won’t help with having enough air circulation inside of your helmet.
And so, the lack of ventilation can make you feel severe fatigue as well as dehydration. So don’t take a chance. And make sure to buy something that comes with enough vents according to several riding positions.

Not Being Able to See What’s in Front of You, That’s A Big No!

Good visibility is a must-have and there’s no debate supporting otherwise. You will require to clearly see what’s in front of you on the road as well as surrounding yourself. Go for the helmets that come with goggles.
So that insects and dust can also stay out of your eyes area. And also make sure the helmet would be able to give you a clear view even when weather isn’t fine, such as fog and rain.

Never Pick Something That’s So Loose That It Falls Off, So Tight That It’s Suffocating.

The right balance of not too tight nor too loose is what one calls to be snug. And you should always prioritize a snug fit with the helmet. It’s going to be superb uncomfortable otherwise. Choosing the right size and shape would grab you that right fit.

What Do You Mean Your Aesthetic Calls Are Not Important, Of Course, It Is!

You will be wearing that helmet for a good amount of time. Feeling weird to put it on because the design feels off, is a little too much to compromise. So, if you skip a helmet that is almost perfect in terms of another factor but not looks, that’s fine.
You can spend a bit more time looking for a sound design that does not hurt your aesthetic demands and at the same time sits well with all other crucial factors.

Lastly, It Should Feel Comfortable Inside

Having padding on the interior that is thick as well as comfy and including chin straps that are padded, works in favor of giving comfortable wear.
Go for paddings that are detachable so that you can wash and maintain them well. A fit that applies the right amount of pressure in all areas would also work with the comfort needs of a rider.

Different Types of Motorcycle Helmet That You Can Get Under 300 Bucks – Choosing a Certain Type

  1. Full face helmet is the type that would give complete coverage for the face and head. It helps protect the skill area and keeps the strong wind out of your face as well as noise out of your ears. These bulky-sized helmets are also not the least expensive options for giving complete coverage and safety.
  2. Half face helmet would keep half of your face covered so the safety is also almost half compared to full-face ones. You get a good view of field and a visor with most models of this type. Wind and noise would be there to disturb you when wearing this particular type. But riding is easy as there’s no bulk that burdens your head as well as less suffocation due to air freely circulating.

  3. The cross-over of both above-mentioned types, is basically what a modular helmet is. These are not too bulky nor too light and there are some wind and noise issues but less compared to half-face helmets. This is basically to have both safety and convenience moderately in a helmet, keeping it between the full and half face types.
  4. The minimal safety provider is a half-shell helmet. And these are super cheap most of the time. Wearing a half-shell helmet is like wearing nothing at all, be very careful with this type particularly. Only when you are not riding on main roads or basically just for practicing motorcycle in your own bounded places where there’s nothing severe that can hit you.
  5. If you simp for cool-looking helmets then off-road helmets are your type. These are for spots that have no road and that’s why riding with these in the city isn’t really a good idea. There are air vents and good for those who don’t need visors as they already wear googles, for example, dirt bikers.
  6. Pro bikers will often choose dual sport helmets, the type that gives better aerodynamic benefits as well as comes with far higher safety ratings. The price tag is usually on the higher side, that’s why.

Pros:

Cons:

Pros:

Cons:

Pros :

Cons:

FreedConn Matte Black Bluetooth Helmet– Best Modular Motorcycle Helmet for Safe Ride.

Pros:

Cons:

AGV AGV-0281O4I0-003-XL K-1 Motorcycle Helmet– Vintage Option That Is Breathable.

📷
Check Price On Amazon

Pros:

Cons:

Only compatible with the ATV bikes.

ILM 953 Pro Matte Black Motorcycle Helmet– Best Modular Motorcycle Helmet for Clearer View.

📷
Check Price On Amazon

Pros:

Cons:

HJC Black & HI-VIZ i90 Helmet– Overall Best Beginner Motorcycle Helmet.

Highlighted Specs:

Our Analysis:

For those of you who want the best full facemotorcycle helmet under 300 dollars that suits novice riders, the HJC i90 is your finest bet.

Pros:

Cons:

Chapter 2 – Factors That Are Important to Have in Under 300 Bucks Motorcycle Helmet,

Exploring Available Types to Find the Right Candidate for Your Need & Brands That Produce Best Helmets Within the Specific Budget

Brands That You Should Pay Attention To

Starting with one of the more famous brands right now in the USA, ILM. You’ll find some of the quick and better riding experiences with gears from this particular brand. Especially their helmets are really up to the mark when it comes to fulfilling most critical factors such as shock absorption, proper fit, and great airflow.
Then there’s the much old but still in hype helmet providers, HJC. They are producers of only helmets and are considered to be the number one brand in North America. Even in other countries, the popularity never falls down of helmets from this brand. From quality to comfort to even design, you will find a lot of helmets giving all of these at very affordable pricing.
And finally, we wanted to give a shout-out to AGV, another very popular helmet brand from Italy. It’s known for being a pioneer in the helmet industry, coming up constantly with helmets that are premium in design and affordable in cost. DOT or ECE safety certifications are always seen in their provided helmets.

Chapter 3 – All About Safety!

Yes, it was necessary to dedicate an entire section for this particular factor, which is also the most important one in the list of crucial considerations you should have for your helmet that’s under 300 bucks.

Safety Features That You Can’t Do Without

A few specific features are must-have in the helmet you are expecting to get, no matter what budget you are considering. Especially if you do keep safety as the most important factor for the purchase. These are:

The Impact of Durability in Terms of Safety.

To be able to withstand impact force from a possible crash or accident, the material of your headgear needs to be the sturdiest. And to assure that, there are safety standards you must look for in the helmet.
The most popular and highly recognized ones are:

Riding Position Suitable Aerodynamics Also Relates with Safety.

A helmet that comes with aerodynamic benefits would be more comfortable no doubt. And it also excels in safety departments. As there’s less amount of buffering. And in long run, you’ll experience more reliability in using it.

Not Fitting Properly Means Not Enough Safe

We can’t emphasize enough how a proper fit of a helmet is awfully crucial. The way it wraps around your skull and keeps other facial areas fully covered with a fit that does not feel tight or loose,
All of these will come into consideration for ensuring the rider is safe enough inside the helmet and would get maximum protection in case of a crash.

The Most Wonderful Types of Helmets That Are Best in Terms of Safety?

Among all the types we talked about earlier, you might have already noticed two that play the most amazing part when it comes to providing ample safety.

Chapter 4 – Frequently Asked Question

What is the Best Motorcycle Helmet for under 300 dollars?

The AGV AGV-0281O4I0-003-XL K-1 Motorcycle Helmet feels like the best one that provides excellent lateral FOV and also stability plus comfort combined to make the experience one of a kind.

Can you wear any helmet on a motorcycle?

Yes, you can! But should you? That’s where things get twisted. Getting just any helmet that won’t be right in terms of safety, comfort, fit and overall riding conditions, isn’t a wise idea of course.

Which helmet brand is safe?

Helmets from AGV are known for taking DOT and ECE standards very seriously. So, it’s definitely one of those brands that prioritize safety. Also, Arai helmets are great with a good rating always noticeable in their safety ensured models.

Is an expensive motorbike helmet worth it?

That’s something you have to decide. Do the provided features and facilities go through costly development, planning, and construction? If yes, then it’s not just any regular helmet but something that was made to be great in so many ways. And then, the price tag deserves to be a little high in exchange for giving you a premium experience.

Wrapping Up

That was our thoughts on finding the best motorcycle helmets under 300 bucks. We also tried to give you an idea of some of the most amazing models in our view under this budget limit.
Now it’s your turn to take a step after getting a good amount of information, which was also a goal of this piece of writing. Hope you meet that right helmet soon, bye!

2024.02.17 17:06 Any_Following_9571 Cycling in Taiwan

Cycling in Taiwan
I had a few days and decided to visit Taiwan for the first time. I rented a Giant Propel aero road bike in a city called Taitung, and rode 125 miles in 3 days, which is a lot for a beginner like me. The city is right on the coast, in the south east of Taiwan, and I was biking against a headwind in the video. Although there are a LOT of motorcycles and little trucks in Taiwan, they were very respectful and always gave me enough space, and I never felt unsafe; drivers in Taiwan are used to sharing the road. Cycling in America is much more dangerous, and I definitely wouldn't cycle on a road this busy if it was in America. I wish I had the fitness to do some bigger climbs, like Wuling pass etc, maybe next time
