Aloha! I (26F) have been with my fiancé (33M) for just over 3 years, and we are getting married this summer. We haven't had a specific conversation before about how we want to split household chores and finances (I know, its stupid and should have been had long ago, but here we are) and I'm looking for some advice/input. Our living and working situations have changed pretty drastically a few times since we began dating, and we've always just sort of assumed our roles without ever actually discussing it.
Some context because we have not had a traditional living experience: We moved pretty quickly in our relationship and unofficially moved in together only like a week after dating. He still had a room in a house with some friends for about 6 months after that though, so we paid our own rents, but went close to 50/50 on groceries and household stuff. He would help with some household chores like the dishes, but I was always the one who did the majority of the cleaning. I didn't mind this because I like my house to be cleaned a certain way, and I also use cleaning as a sort of therapy when I'm stressed or sad. There were over 14 deaths in my circle of family and friends the first year that we were together, so cleaning was pretty much all I did in that period (I think it makes me feel like I have control over my life, even when everything is absolutely falling down around me.) After he officially moved in we split expenses but I still maintained about 95% of the housework.
About a year later we moved to a small cabin on a 20 acre property in the jungle, where my fiancé worked as a caretaker for the property. He was only paid $400 a month for this work, but we didn't have to pay any rent to stay there. He was doing hard, physical labor 7 days a week and was understandably exhausted. Since he was making so little each month and his work was covering the entire cost of living in our home, I took on the cost of all other expenses (food, phones, household supplies, gas, etc.) I scored by finding a part time job that was super easy and paid $30/hr, so I was able to easily pay for our expenses and had the time to take on 100% of the housework.
Fast forward a year and a half to this February. We moved into a house with about an acre of land. He is no longer a caretaker and I lost my incredible job because the family I was working for as a cook/nanny moved to a different state, so we are both working full time now. We are 50/50 on our rent (we are off grid, so no utilities cost) and things like groceries, but I am still paying for our other major expenses (specifically our internet and storage unit which comes to about $250 each month) and I am also still doing almost all of the housework. I do all of the shopping, laundry, cooking, dishes, and general cleaning of the house. He does do a lot of work in the yard, but most of it is taking care of his flower garden, so it costs a lot to maintain but does not bring in a lot of money or food.
As I stated before: I do not mind doing the chores. However, now that I am working 40+ hours a week, its a lot harder to handle the work and maintain a nice, clean home. I also don't have the energy to cook lavish home cooked meals each night, and we usually end up eating frozen or pre-prepared meals.
I'm definitely beginning to resent our current setup and I think he is missing how things used to be in our home. I want to start an honest dialogue about our situation, and figure out together how to reach a solution. I'm so tired every day, and I don't think it's fair to me to take on over half of the living expenses and ALL of the housework. In my perfect world, we would have a more "traditional" arrangement where he could work and I can maintain the house and animals, but I know that that's not realistic because of where and when we are living. I think I've done myself a disservice by always taking on the household work, and not expecting or asking him to contribute.
So I guess my question is: how are these responsibilities divided in your household? If I continue to take on all of the household work, what is a reasonable cost split between the household expenses? I feel like I would be comfortable with a 70/30 split, but I don't know if that's possible with our current incomes. He tends to get very stressed out with difficult discussions (especially relating to money), so I would like to have a few options to throw out..
I would also like to clarify that I am NOT trying to trash on my fiancé. He is an incredible man, I love his heart and his soul. He always makes sure that I feel loved and safe. We laugh all of the time. When I'm with him, I feel completely free to be myself and I never have to worry that I'm not enough for him, because he's constantly telling me how much he loves and adores me.
TL;DR: I feel like I am taking on more than my portion of the burden of living and I am looking for helpful ways to bring up a change that will make our life more equal in contribution.

I'm working with a builder to design my dream home. I noticed that the standard vaulted ceiling would stop at the master suite with my tweaked designs. Would there be any reason (Other than $$) to not vault the master suite, and then use the space above the bath and closet as either a place for decorations or additional storage? This would be built in Minnesota, and it's a single story home with a full basement.
Shown plan would have the whole area to the left of the bedroom vaulted. Proposed change would be to have entire length vaulted instead.

2024.05.12 04:49 CoochNectar Pre built 7/8 k2 led saber blade that works well out of box?
OK, so I have a dagobah swamp amazing Vader mpp but he’s busy and the blade broke, we soddered and fixed it but my idiot ass didn’t glue the plastic piece back all the way so the postive pcb pad piece that was soldered came off and it flickered but couldn’t get it to work. So I bought a brand new already built blade from the custom saber shop. Anyone know somebody who makes good 7/8 35 inch or whatever the usual standard blade length is? Idk if they are incompatible but dagobah says they shouldn’t be and the blade is faulty/ a lemon or the wiring inside is wrong. Idk, does anyone have any recommendations for pre built k2 led 7/8 “ sabers prebuilt? I asked them for a refund but idk I just don’t know what’s going on. I can send pics of the inner pcb of the hilt and new blade and old blade.

I recognized the pain that noise would have caused leaving the throat of whatever expelled it, but my throat wasn’t sore. It hadn’t been me. It lasted eons and every second was as sharp as the first, it was all encompassing and it was all of something split asunder and tendons ripping and veins slashed and seeping.
The silence after was the sweetest, most shameful thing I’ve ever heard. I still remember that violent eruption, but it was the sound of her footsteps leaving from outside my storage room door and fading into the other side of her trailer that make me weep.

First of all im upgrading my pre built cyberpower pc and kept the fans and im trying to plug them into my motherboard but im so lost. Theres a bunch of connectors everywhere. All 4 of the fans have 3 pin connectors and im wondering where to plug them in. I think theres connectors to plug in all the fans for one wire but it doesnt fit. This is my first time building a Pc and I can just plug in all 4, 3 pin connectors straight into the mother board right? Theres not enough fan pins for that? Any advice would be appreciated.

Nublak yawned from his seat at the station’s cafeteria, overlooking the blue planet below. The engineers objected to installing such an extravagant window on what was effectively a science outpost, but ultimately the scientists got their way. The planet was, after all, quite beautiful.
It was his first year (Galactic Standard) on the space station. The humans, as they called themselves, were found quite recently after an incident involving a faulty FTL device and a drunk pilot, and soon after determining they had no means of observing the observation post, the station was built.
They were a fairly uninteresting species, standing at about ⅔ the height of the average Daxian, with front-facing eyes and little-to-no fur hinting at their past as endurance predators. Their society was primitive, organized into various kingdoms in a near constant state of dispute, which wasn’t uncommon for a civilization at their level of development.
His assistant and apprentice, Zoroch, came into the cafeteria, looking giddier than usual. He sure seemed to enjoy his time filling out paperwork all day, Nublak thought, but didn’t complain, as he was the one being spared the effort by the remarkably diligent Junior Scientist. “Dr. Nublak?” Zoroch said, taking him out of his pensive state, “We think there’s a battle brewing, first one we’ll be able to actually watch since the engineering boys got the new observatory up!”.
That immediately got Nublak up and heading to the observation room, quickly followed by the apprentice. So far the only data on the humans they were able to gather were from smuggled probes they sneaked into the atmosphere, which were quickly found out by station security and earned quite a few senior scientists very severe reprimands, due to the Federation’s strict no-contact policy regarding pre-space age species. Poor Khulek got fired for his involvement, and they still kept a (non-functioning) probe as a memento to remember his brave efforts for the sake of science.
Now that the observatory was installed, they had a very clear view of what was happening on the ground, which Nublak was amazed by after waddling through the crowd that was gathered by the news and into the observatory’s view point. He could see large formations of humans using curved rectangular shields and a variety of weapons and armour made of metallic alloys. He could also see them thumping on their shields, with mouths wide open on what he assumed was screaming, not that he could hear it. What came next, however, was the true spectacle.
Warfare was, by all means, an ugly business. A fact that all species recognized from early on in their existence, which made it about intimidation rather than a bloodbath. Every species the Daxians had documented thus far, including themselves, did what humans would call “peacocking”, named after a flightless bird that was, by all means, very silly. The average battle would consist of two armies meeting in a field, followed by various displays of power until one of them was intimidated into surrender, very few people would die that way, and everyone agreed it was the best way to fight, even the most aggressive of primitive societies.
The humans, however, didn’t seem to care much for that philosophy, as Nublak watched, with a mixture of shock and awe, as the two armies closed in on each other and commenced a bloody affair, tearing each other apart with little regard for common sense. The strangest part, from Nublak’s perspective, was how organised the chaos seemed to be. The few instances where fights actually broke out in Daxian history involved little more than a couple units breaking off, hitting each other then retreating almost immediately upon getting injured and earning a stern talking to by their commanding officer.
This, though, was unlike anything Nublak had ever seen or heard of. Thousands of humans, maintaining formation as they killed one another, even while their unit was under direct attack. Soldiers riding large, frightening creatures coming in to flank the enemy, and rows of people wielding curious contraptions called “bows” showering each other with high-speed wooden projectiles.
Nublak kept staring, horrified with what he was seeing from the observatory. The event would most certainly be recorded for later viewing, and he concluded he’d have to go over it once again, to take proper notes and do a proper assessment once the shock faded. For now though, he watched for a solid two hours as the conflict went on, neither side seeming to retreat, until one of them finally broke the engagement off and started running away, still maintaining a remarkable amount of coordination and discipline as they did so.
As the dust settled and he got a proper view, the scientist felt nauseous. The sheer amount of human bodies and their characteristically dark red blood spilled everywhere was unfathomable. At a surface glance it already seemed like more death in a single battle than the Daxians had ever seen in conflict over the course of millenia. He also saw humans going through the bodies, picking out the injured and bringing them into various tents strewn across the outskirts of the battlefield, which Nublak found almost comical given the terrible brutality displayed just a few minutes prior. After what he witnessed, he didn’t expect humans to feel empathy, much less treat their injured rather than leaving them to their fate.
The silence in the observation room was palpable, interrupted only by the occasional researcher vomiting at the sight of the gore, including poor Zoroch. It was clear to them that they got far more than they bargained for by choosing to be stationed on Earth, and reports would need to be sent immediately detailing what was seen that day. Nublak was the first to get on that, and he made sure to include the part about the medics, as he feared detailing only their brutality could mean the end of the human species.
After the scientist’s report was submitted, the Federation, after much deliberation, shouting, and demands for an immediate and decisive strike on Earth, decided to keep a much closer eye on humanity, realising they were by no means a regular primitive civilization, but fierce warriors of the kind the galaxy had never before witnessed, and could pose a significant threat if not treated with caution.

This is terrible!", it's not just you, I did that), I don't know if anyone will enjoy it but I needed to get the idea out of my head, and thus created this writing account if I ever have more such stories pop up in my remarkably empty skull!

I posted this a couple places but forgot to post it here, as it seems many of you that have joined this sub has also come to this realization, my real question is, what are we to do(except what I have described to a degree)

So I just wanted to take the time to describe my awakening experience, mainly to understand what y’all have come to experience and understand, and specifically, how much y’all relate to the experience I had and the understanding that was imparted upon me in a single moment nearly 7 years ago now.
For some background, prior to this experience I had essentially no inner life, and when I would go within myself there was absolutely nothing, just complete emptiness with no hint that there could be anything else. Along with this, my entire identity up until that point was built on what other people told me or thought of me and it had never really occurred to me in any capacity that I could have some sort of say or opinion on the matter.
So there I was, on a warm November night, sitting on a curb a couple blocks from my house, a place I should have known like the back of my hand, yet I had zero recollection of it, the name was running through my head in a string of unintelligible nonsense as I only had the faintest idea that it could have meant something at some point. I was on a tab of acid and spiraling very fast, heading for a place that would’ve left me naked and running around on the street very confused. I was peaking and had also decided to hit my wax pen a couple dozen times before the trip and to this day I haven’t been tripping that hard but maybe once or twice and I’ve tripped a hundred times since then. My friend was sitting next to me listening to me just spiral and be in a straight state of panic that my parents were going to appear and start yelling at me and I would have to deal with that when I couldn’t even comprehend anything in the first place and it was fucking me up to the point of no return. But thankfully, as this was happening, my friend said to me, “Man, it doesn’t matter what your parents think, it matters what you think” and because not once had it occurred to me that it matters what I think, everything that had ever been me prior to that point was shed, as I accepted it, and just let go wholly and completely, accepting the situation and that I would be able to deal with it no matter what. It was because I let go so deeply, that I was (as far as I can discern) enlightened in the same moment.
I often feel that it is sacrilegious to claim enlightenment because no one really knows what it means, they think it’s some sort of highly spiritually pure state that one must practice or meditate for years to even have the hint of attaining, which in most cases appears to be true, and in some ways it feels like I cheated, but in the same it feels as though I just was able to bypass all the build up by letting go, by letting go in such a heightened state of fear and distress.
The very moment that I let go and accepted what my friend had told me, I experienced what I can only describe as being struck by the lightning of God as I was was filled from above with an indescribable light, which in the same moment, also exploded out of my root chakra, meeting at my heart in the middle and exploding outward into everything, enlightening not just me, but the entirety of existence, from the smallest particles to the largest galaxies, the existence as a whole, all of it lit up in this golden light and sang in unison as I remembered who I was and what the true nature of our world is. This experience is wholly indescribable beyond that other than that I can only say I was enlightened or literally “filled with light” to the very depths of my being. This state of being has not left me for one moment and has only become more apparent, the effects on my life more profound as time has passed
Essentially though, and this is my question for anyone reading. Have you come into complete awareness of yourself in this way, conscious and clear, on all levels of existence, beyond a shadow of a doubt, with no separation of bounds, but just an endless ocean of love, consciousness, and you.
And really I would like to know, is there any deeper than this? It doesn’t really appear to be, but rather it is with this awareness I must go forth and operate from, and though that the rest will unfold. But truly, has anyone gone deeper than this, is there a deeper state of awakening that one can reach. Not that this state isn’t profound it’s the most indescribable and beautiful and impactful and just beyond words thing that is beyond even the wildest of anyone’s imagination
I just find it odd sometimes that I, lil old me, just one day stumbled upon something of such a great magnitude and importance, and to such a depth that I am stirred to do nothing but proclaim it and be a beacon of this light for all who are coming back to themselves, back into their true being, and waking up from this dream.
I am but a messenger, a guide pointing the way, I can’t show anyone this experience nor can I impart it upon them, but I can convey the depths with such vigor, that it stirs something inside each and everyone one of us, even the slightest hint that things might not be what they seem, that is my work in this life, as should it be for all who have awakened to this state. If there is more to it than that please I am all ears.

I don't live in the US, so Walmart's $20 ONN box isn't an option for me. I can't afford to buy an Nvidia Shield Pro and I've seen very mixed reports about the Chromecast 4k with Google TV.
I've looked on Aliexpress and see there are plenty of Android TV boxes from $30-50 USD, but a lot of them have negative feedback about the WiFi not working, or the Netflix app not working because it's not a certified device. Although my primary use will be for Stremio, I do need to have the Netflix app working until I can convince my wife that she no longer needs it because all the content is on Stremio anyway.
My current TV is some Chinese brand with Android TV built in, and Stremio DOES work, it's just SLOWWWW. I need something with more grunt. I have seen the Mi Box S but was hoping for something with a minimum of 4GB RAM / 32GB storage.
Open to any suggestions, is there anything out there that won't break the bank and is a proper certified device?

I was wondering if upgrading my cpu to the ryzen 7 7800x3d and mb to the rog strix b650e-f would be a bad idea with my 1080ti. I will upgrade my gpu next year but I got these parts from my friend for very cheap (250cad in total) because he bought them for his brother but he decided to get a pre-built.

Hello, so my co workers have been trying to get me to get a PC for some time. Finally I decided to just build one myself, instead of buying a pre built.
Should have done some more research before pulling the trigger. But I ended up getting these parts bellow originally, and I was able to get a rx6600xt on market place for about 80$
Motherboard:MSI B550-A Pro
CPU:Ryzen 5, 5500
GPU: RX6600XT

An old zipline tower I'm debating on whether or not to remove. Let me know if I should, since we now have telepotties.
