if you're not familiar with this series i'm not sure there's a real reason to explain it to you, but here goes: our galaxy has been subjugated by a race of highly intelligent giant caterpillars, with the remaining human population being trapped on Earth beneath a massive forcefield. a descendant of human space colonists returns to Earth in a beat-up old craft, having missed out on all this, and must use his various skills to defeat the oppressors and liberate the civilizations of the Milky Way. it's rightfully considered a classic of its era (if somewhat obtuse by modern standards), and you can get it for free in the form of a fandom-maintained remake. i highly recommend it, especially if you're a fan of Mass Effect, which is basically this game with all the 90s humor excised.
ok, now that i'm done advertising it. i'm really fond of the Ur-Quan themselves and their tragic backstory, and would like to write something that investigates their culture, mindset and the reciprocal attitudes of the two Ur-Quan subspecies. i'd particularly enjoy playing a Kohr-Ah captain, and i'm just as glad to have y/c be a non-Ur-Quan character, though since Kohr-Ah typically kill aliens on sight there would obviously need to be something done to cripple m/c and render them nonthreatening (i love big evil guys being made dependent on the help of people they consider inferior, can you tell :3)
i prefer to RP on Discord, and i would be expecting 1-3 paragraph posts as a general rule with a reasonable degree of literacy. 18+ only, not planning on doing any smut but i just feel kinda weird talking to kids (i'm in my late 20s). also! if you happen to have prompts or ideas for these games that deviate from mine, or don't involve the Ur-Quan at all, i'd appreciate it if you contacted me anyway! seriously, this isn't the most popular game in the world, i'll be happy if anyone reaches out to me about it.

I'm a student and I really want a gaming laptop that's bright and non glare with decent battery so I can also use it to study outdoors.

Is it possible to download cache of a fully completed game and then add it to mine? The reason why I ask is I think cache make game more faster. For example when I play a Pokemon game for first time it takes some time to load new moves, new Pokemon etc but when I save it and play it again these same moves and Pokemon loads faster. I think it has to do with cache.
So is it possible to add cache to make games faster? If so, how can I download them?

I have one more serious point, one fun point, and one minor point.
starting with the ‘serious’ point: Add more/better rules. the rules you have right now is good! BUT, there are some problems for sure. For example, SOS is pg, despite sausage’s shenanigans, it’s still supposed to be PG. I would recommend to FIX this, either take some time to write a few good rules, or copy (with some editing) from EmpiresSMP . i doubt you will get in trouble for that- but if you want to be careful, have Orbian do that cuz he is also mod for EmpiresSMP .

A closer look from the observatory door. I'm sure as hell not going out there.
Title. 15+ days in, woke up from a nap at 3:50-4:00 AM, went downstairs to check on a signal I was processing to find the red glow/mist in question. At first I thought it might've accumulated across the whole map (like a fog), but after steeling my nerves and checking through the observatory bay window, it doesn't look like it. The rest of my base seems clear (though admittedly I've always been too much of a chicken to enter the bathroom at night), and I don't see any unusual entities on the radar. I can also still pause my game, for now at least... but I'm not exactly keen on exploring down the hall or peering into the basement to see where the "glow" is coming from.
My main concern is that this event (?) is something dangerous or jumpscare-y. I don't really mind spoilers; I just want to know what's going on and how to proceed.

I don't know what I was thinking, but years ago I decided to purchase an all-in-one pc, but it isn't the best for gameplay. And I'm unable to get a new one anytime soon, but I miss playing the sims 3.

I miss playing the game, and I've always wanted to have a successful gaming channel, but that's hard when you have a crappy pc. I got pretty close to 1,000 subs once, but had to ditch the channel because I kept running into trouble with my pc. Like the fan doesn't even spin anymore 🙄
I always seem to have trouble recording with OBS as well because of the lag, but if I can get that working, I might be able to edit my videos with Capcut and upload my gameplay. I do like to add cc, but I try to keep a small amount as I know that can effect the games ability to run well.

So, my friend and I have been keen on getting the game and finally have it but have yet to start a save as we also want to include my partner, however there is a small problem that I have tried Googling and looking for but have found no answer. My partner unfortunately has a pretty severe case of emetophobia and as I cannot find anything, I was hoping you lovely people could answer if the game has anything regarding that. Any animations, noises, visuals or even words in dialogue referencing or showing or talking about it. I am okay with spoilers if the answer is yes but for a specific scene so we can skip it. My bf (33m) and I (26f) have lived together for about a year. Money was tight for a few months which is due to me losing my job (before I get those comments, it was to no fault of my own). I have a new job now and I will have more “extra” money than before.
We do smoke green, although he smokes it from morning to night and I only smoke it in the evening. He’ll also get beer often for no real reason, like just one beer, I don’t mind that but I don’t get it. My mums an alcoholic so I don’t really like the idea of people drinking and getting nothing from it, but I digress.
A few days ago we had an argument because I told him I don’t want to be buying him beer for no reason out of my spare money. He asked me how much I have left in my account and I told him, he got annoyed because it’s not like I couldn’t afford it, but my point was that it’s my extra money, I’ve gotten everything we needed for the house and his lunch for work and the rest was for me to spend how I want. Also, just because I can afford something doesn’t mean it’s worth getting. He will also kinda blow money on weed, he’ll smoke loads in the morning and the day and then I’ll have to top up at night because he’s gone through the whole supply before 6pm. He’ll say “well it’s not like we can’t get more”.
Now, I’m trying to save up for a nice anniversary gift for him, it’s going to cost a few hundred so I do need to save for it. I can’t save anything while he’s having me spend unnecessary money on drugs and alcohol. Would I be an asshole if I sometimes told him I have no money? I know he’ll then go and borrow from someone to get what he wants but at least my money would be safe to save? Or do I just need to grow a back bone and tell him to stop gunning off our weed during the day if he’s expecting me to pay for it?
To add: he was smoking just as much before I got my new job so he can afford it on his own. I kinda feel if he wants to be high all day it should come out of his spare money, not mine.

I’m a Kentucky fan. Our success under Mark Stoops in making us an adequate SEC program has led us to enter the competition of who will finish behind Georgia in the SEC East. In this group are three teams Florida, South Carolina, and Missouri.
TLDR; is a completely self-indulgent piece about UK football and how their current success has brought the question of who the rivals are now. Florida is probably not due to historical success, it’s up to them to decide. Mizzou is our coworker, not a rival. South Carolina can eat a bag of dicks.

I think I should start by defining a rivalry. The two programs need to be close enough in short-term and long-term success to draw comparisons. Games between the schools need to occur regularly and there needs to be mutual hate.
Florida for years would beat the living shit out of us. Your players had career games, and draft highlight tapes. Every fan in the Bluegrass state loathed playing you all and we never thought we would see the day the mighty Florida Gators would whimper. The best moment of the series for us was when we knocked out Tim Tebow. It’s not because we like to see players injured, but because it felt cathartic to draw blood on our god-king overlords finally. Even in that game, we lost 41-7.
Now we have won three games straight, with us blowing y’all out last year. Even though we are 4-6 in the last 10 matchups, it is usually a competitive game with huge memorable plays. We check the boxes for playing regularly and it being competitive.
Is there hate?
Stoops hates Florida. He was a defensive coach at both Miami and FSU and has always brought a different intensity to the Florida game. When Stoops won his 100th game we celebrated by frying a Gator. Kentucky fans hate Florida, but do Florida fans even think about UK?
Florida has pissed off every fan base at some point. From the stupid “two bits” chant, corny ass chomp, and them chanting “it’s great to be a Florida Gator” after every TD. There’s nothing that pours salt in the wound quite like hearing that shit in your home stadium after Jeff Badet drops a wide-open game winning TD in the to lose the game.
Florida is hated by FSU, Miami, LSU, Tennessee(fuck you btw), Alabama, and Georgia. Historically they’re a three time national champion. I feel like they view us as a momentary speed bump until they reach CFB glory again. Unfortunately for them, that’s not true. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe Florida fans hate us and view us as little brother rivals. Florida fans let me know what you think.
Missouri? I put Missouri on the list because they fit the criteria. Historically they are a better program than UK, but since joining the SEC has been on par with UK. UK has a winning record against Missouri 9-5 and there have been no true blowouts. There have been some big plays late and controversial calls. Your players don’t like us. We fans hate having to travel to Mizzou to play, not because of the atmosphere (which is great btw) it’s just Missouri. I think the best way I can summarize my feelings is through an analogy.
I play NCAA 14 dynasties to completion. I go for either 60 years or until the game starts crashing. The problem is after you win 5 national championships in a row you can get anybody you want and the game isn’t a game anymore, it’s a job of being dominant. You’re faced with a choice either leave to a new school or edit your opponents to be a challenge. Each has these perks and shortcomings. Editing is very tedious but, you only have one dream school. The tedious part with editing is you can’t just make a bunch of guys 99 and call it a day. I’m sure a couple of teams don’t need the spit shine, but you can’t play 12 of the same boring team and you need to challenge yourself. What you have to do is edit their playbooks and schemes so they play in different and fun ways but more importantly you have to find out how to stop them. You can make a mimic team (they are you but a different color, crazy, right?), or triple option no-huddle, or my favorite the anti-thesis team, or whatever you can think of. The issue is some of these teams will make you eat shit on a platter. This forces you to either to De-edit the team - like a bitch - or get good. Getting good though requires discipline, repetition, and practice. My solution was to make less talented versions of these all 99 squads to play before I hand the big showdown. Kind of like a level boss before the BBEG.
My BBEG was an antithesis team and was Kentucky's most hated Rival Louisville. I had lost to them in a couple of blowouts so, to better myself I edited Temple. I picked them because they played at the Philadelphia Eagles Stadium, and the Eagles are my favorite team. I'm quite fond of Philidelphia due to Ben Franklin and Philly Cheesesteaks. I have nothing against the real-life University of Temple, but I ended up hating the Temple game more than Louisville's game. Louisville there was a challenge I had to play perfect to win, every play had stakes. One bad read and I cost my team a national title to our arch-rival. Temple, I knew I was going to win, but it was going to be a miserable slog. Temple would not allow ANY big plays and would only allow 3-4 yards at a time if you fell behind the sticks you had to punt. Every time a run went for negative yards or a sack it was like you were Sisphyus watching your boulder roll back down the hill at the end of the day. Fortunately, their offense was dog shit and it would be a quick 3&out. I would feel no gratification from winning, only relief that it was over. I never felt animosity or hatred towards them it just felt like they were just doing their job. I would root for them against other teams. Hoping the other teams would feel the same virtual torment I endured.
Missouri is Temple. I don’t care about them. I have complete apathy towards them. I don’t expect to win against them, I expect to endure 60 minutes of football. I never expect fun to creep into the occasion. If something fun happens, I expect it to happen by accident. I don't expect anyone to see the one cool play either, you will go to the restroom, return to your seat and see a replay of it, you'll ask your friend about that play. He will say "Oh... it wasn't that exciting." A Kentucky-Missouri football game is not a football game; it is a test of one’s fandom and loyalty to the game of football. It is an endurance of football on par with an Iowa football game, there is no joy, no happiness, no pleasure just two-yard runs and punts.
I don’t consider you a rival, I consider you a coworker that Greg Sankey makes us mud wrestle in a pool at our company Christmas party for our holiday bonus. Beamer is taking that personally as he brought a different level of energy to the games. Some very obvious QOL features were left out of the crafting/building activities, one of them was featured in previous games and is greatly missed, here's what I wanna see in a future update:
Detaching and Storing Weapon/Spacesuit Mods:
Having to re-craft all your mods every time you find a new version of a weapon gets old REAL fast. Fallout 4 had the perfect system, on top of being able to craft mods, you could also remove them from weapons, attach them to other weapons of the same model (without needing to level "Gun Nut"), store them for later use or buy/sell them separately. It makes no sense that in Starfield an attachment that took valuable resources to make is destroyed once you replace it, same goes for spacesuit mods.
Building a Ship From Scratch:
Makes no sense to me that you need a base ship to modify, more often than not a final build ends with none of the original parts, so why do we need the base for? We should have the option to start the Ship Builder from a blank slate when talking to a Ship Services Technician or vendor. Maybe make so this feature requires 1 rank of Ship Design so new players don't get overwhelmed.
Saving WIP/Project Ships:
To complement the ability to build from scratch, we should be able to save a ship even when it has essential parts missing, as long as it's not your Home Ship. This prevents the player from getting stuck when building from scratch if a vendor doesn't have one of the essential parts. Also, this way we're not forced to buy placeholder parts in order to exit the editor when a vendor doesn't have the parts we want.
Storing Ship Parts:
We should have the ability to store ship parts for later use, as well as the ability to sell them directly from said storage. With the current system if a player wants to try a new part (a weapon for example) they're forced to replace their current one, getting a laughable amount of credits back on trade-in. Give us the option to store the part in the editor, so if we want that part back we can just install it back from storage. This also opens up the possibility of swapping parts between ships and salvaging useful parts from claimed/captured ships before selling them.
Finally: Make the Cargo Bays Useful!!!
Imagine my surprise when I installed a giant 3x2 cargo bay only to realize it doesn't add any cargo capacity to your ship... Like ??? ... As it is, cargo bays are nothing but giant cosmetic wastes of space/credits. I'm aware that there's a mod enabling this function, but c'mon, this is just a gross oversight from BGS.

I’m trying to build my pc for the first time. My budget is in the range of $1200(without monitor). I gonna use my pc for generally gaming. So I wanna see you guy’s opinions before I buy those parts.In CPU, I chose Ryzen 7 7700X over Ryzen 5 7600X. I did some research and they said they are almost the same and I won’t feel any differences. For the future proof, I chose Ryzen 7. CPU cooler might be a problem because i used the cheap water cooling one. But I didn’t add a case in the build because I think case is just a personal preference. Any ideas of changes to be a better one? I appreciate all the opinions. Thanks!
