She left with her family to Florida in 1995 but she came to NYC and used to see her sometimes she would smile but again I was timid. 1996 I heard she had become a mom. I was sad but I thought I had to move on. After I finish college in 2000 I joined the Navy in 2000-2004 during that time I became extrovert dated some girl, then I got married but lasted two years. I always thought about the crush I had in H.S. When through hardship and the only person that brought me comfort my crush. I then finish my time in the Navy in 2004 quickly join the Army in 2004-2008. I met second wife which at point she was pregnant with my son. At that time we were not married. Also, in the Army when through some hardship my only comfort was my crush and not my girlfriend (soon to become wife). I got out the Army in 2008. My wife at the time my girlfriend never understood that I need time to readjust we separate and the only person who help was my father. I got married in 2013 and got divorce two years ago. In 2008 I joined Facebook and found my crush tried to ad her a friend but I think at the time she was married she never answer. I did send to messages telling her how I felt and telling her that the hardship that I had in the Navy and Army, that I always tough of her and was the only tough that made happy. Second message told her about my feelings and never again message her and left alone. 2009 I started a import business and doing wholes of sock and phone accessories. While all this I finish my second bachelors in accounting 2011, then also when on finishing my Masters in Accounting and Finance and obtaining my CPA. 2013 my girlfriend got married and since we had our son wanted to give a shot to work thing out. I was able to buy a restaurant from a family member and then open another one in PA. I got divorce in 20022 we share responsibilities with my ex-wife for the restaurants that we owe . I always tough about my crush used to look her up from time to time nothing else. 2024.05.18 20:37 Phantomsplit A review of Alcast's BG3Builds: They are fundamentally wrong

I think many on this sub are aware that many build websites and content creators caught on the coattails of BG3's success and quickly threw together some builds of questionable quality. Many of those websites improved their BG3 builds over time, and while they may have once been questionable they are now decent or even good. Alcast Builds do not follow this trend. In this post I will go through the first 6 of 12 builds in his "Best Builds Database" and point out the topics I find that are just plain wrong. It is very clear that they have abandoned updating this page, as they still have not selected their best companion builds. But when you Google "BG3 Builds" they are one of the top results so I still think this post is worth calling out their shotty work. My goal is that those who may be led astray by his builds may instead find this post and be made aware that Alcast builds are flawed due to a fundamental misunderstanding of game mechanics.
I take no issue with the fact he does not multiclass. Multiclassing can seem an intimidating hurdle for new players. I can see a lot of value in detailed, single class build discussions for those players who do not want to dabble into multiclassing. But his single class builds are not worth recommending. I am not getting into things like whether his builds cheese elixirs or not, nor am I getting into things like whether Resilient Con is better than War Caster, or whether you should take sharpshooter at level 4 or a later level. I am not going to assume that there are other party members in the group who could cover the bases he is trying to cover, so for example if he recommends a character take the blade ward cantrip then I will not assume there is some mass healing word cleric with whispering promise ring and hellrider's pride gloves, nor will I criticize the usefulness of a full caster character devoting their concentration to blade ward. I am not going to contend with his classifications of wild magic sorc being the best sorc build, or evocation wizard being the best wizard build. I am only going to point out the things that any person with common sense would say are undeniably wrong.

Moon Druid Build

Ability scores - This build starts with all even ability scores except for Wisdom, which starts at 17. It then takes ASIs in Wisdom at levels 4 and 8, saying to then put the spare point in Constitution. Alcast's lack of awareness that odd ability scores don't help you is something that will come up in many future builds. For those not aware, this build would be better by just starting with 16 Wis. The extra point in Wis here does absolutely nothing except take away two points that could be put elsewhere in character creation. If he intended for you to take a half feat or use Ethel's hair then maybe he is on to something. But that is not the case. Edit: BG3 does not have any feats or multiclassing requirements where you need odd ability scores. All that matters is your ability modifier, not the ability score (exceptions: initiative ties for Dex and carry weight for Strength). This is an extremely basic concept which Alcast's builds never take into account.
Starting cantrips - They recommend shillelagh and thorn whip to start out. These are two cantrips that kinda fill the same roll; short range damage. Most of his gear recommendations are scimitars so shillelagh isn't even usable. Close range damage is also something that your whole wildshaping moon druid identity already fills far better than either of these cantrips. No mention of a ranged cantrip or one of the best cantrips in the game - guidance.
Spell Sniper or +2 Con - At level 12 he recommends taking spell sniper. The only spell in the entire writeup that uses an attack roll is thorn whip. That is the only spell that he took the time to recommend that will get a benefit from this feat. Alternatively he recommends putting 2 points in Con if you are struggling to maintain concentration. This will increase your con modifier by 1 and HP by 12. But because at this stage in the build you actually have an odd numbered Con score you could instead take Resilient: Constitution, which will also increase your con modifier by 1, HP by 12, and give you proficiency in Con saves giving you an additional +4 to all those concentration checks as well as any other Constitution Saving Throws.
Not mentioning tavern brawler - I am hesitant to bring this up because I hate tavern brawler. It is overpowered and dominated discussion on this sub for too long. I am also hesitant to bring this up because at the time Alcast wrote this guide tavern brawler did not work with wild shape (it still sorta doesn't in honor mode). But fact of the matter is this is one of the best possible feats for a moon druid and it is never mentioned. A top Google result should be better than that.

Lore Bard Build

Ability scores - Let the horror begin. This build starts with 4 odd numbered ability scores. Anyone who understands build basics will probably discard anything this entire website has to say as a result of this one sentence. This is insane. At level 4 he says to put +2 in Cha, bringing it up to 18 or 19 "depending on which race you choose." Priority #1 should be getting even numbered ability scores here. But second, races have had flexible ability scores since launch. Your race does not matter for this discussion.
1. I disagree very strongly with a lot of the race recommendations, recommended gear, the spell sniper feat, and the level 10 magical secrets spells. But his recommendations are not outright flawed or bad. Just leaving this build at one bullet point would make it seem like I don't have much else to criticize. I have a lot of things to criticize and think his straight lore bard build could be a lot better. But it is not undeniably, flat-out incorrect in so many areas as his other builds.

Hunter Ranger Build

Wood Half Elf recommendation - He says that wood half elf is basically the same as wood elf but slower. This is wrong. Wood half elf is not slower than wood elf. Also wood elf gets perception proficiency whereas wood half elf does not. Wood elf is mildly better for this build, but not at all for the reason he states.
Ability scores - Same issues we've seen before. Starting with 17 in your main stat and not giving a damn about even numbers
Natural Explorer - Throughout this guide he discounts the benefits of the damage resistance options granted by natural explorer. Poison and fire damage are rather common in this game, and his dismissiveness of these damage resistances makes no sense.

Shadow Monk Build

Strength 10 recommendation - The reason he says not to lower Str below 10 is because this will make it easier for you to be shoved. This is a Dex based build where he recommends proficiency in acrobatics. It will use acrobatics to resist being shoved.
Ability scores and feats - This one is a little different. He once again recommends 17 in your main stat. Through sheer dumb luck he happens to recommend taking the Athlete feat at level 4, bringing Dex to 18! I do question the usefulness of the athlete feat on this build but hey, we got to all even ability scores. Then at level 8 he recommends Mobile which is kinda overkill in my opinion on an unarmored monk, but zooming around the battlefield can be fun. So here we are, approaching level 12 with all even ability scores. There is no way he can mess this up, right? Well this is where he recommends putting a +1 into Dex and a +1 into Wis. An absolute total and complete waste. Alcast shared this build on this sub, I pointed out that this was utterly pointless in a comment months and months ago. The issue still persists.
The Mighty Cloth - He recommends the mighty cloth in his early game build recommendations. The graceful cloth can be obtained earlier and is outright better by leagues and miles for a Dex based monk. Note: I am not going to hold against him the lack of mentioning tavern brawler. The feat's benefits are limited on a Dex based monk like this. Until he mentions the gauntlets of giant strength in his end game build recommendations, it never makes sense to take this feat on this build.

Great Old One Warlock

Race recommendations - I have scratched my head at some of the race recommendations before. This is the one where I finally figured out what is going on. Alcast does not seem to know about race features that get unlocked past first level. It is the only reason I can think of for why he still has yet to recommend Tiefling, even though he has already covered lore bard and now an eldritch blast warlock. The one time he did recommend Tiefling it was for the monk build since the Tieflings get produce flame. And when he recommends Drow he only discusses the first level features. He just doesn't know they get things past first level.
Ability scores - Once again starts with 17. And at level 4 he says to bump up Cha by 2 to 19 again. But this time at level 8 he says to take a half feat to bring Cha up to 20!!! Hoorah! Except the half feat is Resilient: Charisma. Let's ignore the fact that Charisma saves are probably the least common saves in this game. Bane and maybe some of Cazador's abilities are the only hostile effects I can think of where you need to make a Cha save. Let's ignore that. Warlocks are already proficient in Cha saves. He could have taken Actor as an amazing half feat here. He could have taken Performer just to get instrument proficiency. But no, he had to take the one Cha half feat that offers absolutely nothing else to this build. I can't make this up, it is embarrassing to tout these builds as high quality.
Hellish Rebuke - At level 4 he recommends Hellish Rebuke because it only takes up a first level spell slots, and you supposedly have plenty of those. Except you don't. You don't have any level 1 spell slots. You have 2 spell slots per short rest, and they are both second level. Burning a pact magic slot on Hellish Rebuke is not something to be flippantly disregarded
No Hunger of Hadar - I get if you don't want to use the spell. But for a build about an EB spam with repelling blast build, one of the best spells to combo with this is at least worth a mention.
Devil's Sight and Darkvision mix up - He says that one should pick devil's sight if their race does not grant Darkvision, because this will stop you from having disadvantage in dark areas. Devil's Sight is more than just Darkvision. It allows you to see through magical darksness. Goes great with that Darkness spell he recommended a few levels ago, or that you would get a free casting of if you went Drow or some Tiefling variants and knew they got the spell at 5th level.
Armor or no? - He keeps flip flopping on whether this build will use armor. When starting out he says you'll be wearing light armor. At level 7 he says to take the armor of shadows invocation which he claims increases your AC by 2 (if you are not wearing armor then this increases your AC by 3, and if you are wearing armor then it has no effect). In his gear recommendations sometimes he recommends armor, sometimes not.
Cantrip scaling at level 11 - This is a relatively minor issue but he is incorrect. Here he says cantrips scale up again at level 11. That is how it works in tabletop. I don't know why Larian changed this, but in BG3 it is level 10. Maybe he mentioned this in other posts, I am not going to go back and check. It's a small concern but I wanted to point it out.
Gear - Everything this build selects during the level up process is focused around Eldritch blast. Yet he keeps mentioning rapier proficiency, gear like gloves of power, etc. I don't want to go too far into this, as a character who focuses on Eldritch blast but uses weapons in a pinch seems fine. But he never really pulls the strings together on this. He recommends the gold wyrmling staff on a character with 10 strength that already has a souped up Eldritch blast. This just feels like a bunch of copy paste with no critical thought.

Battlemaster Fighter Build

GWF style - He says GWF only applies to weapons with the two handed property. This is incorrect. It also applies to versatile weapons wielded in two hands. This is a bit of a nuanced topic and a change from tabletop that not many are aware of, so I don't hold it against him too much. But I wanted to point it out.
Racial proficiencies - He recommends Githyanki and Gold Dwarf because of the weapon proficiencies they get. Fighter is already proficient in all armor and weapons. Githyanki is my favorite race and anyone who talks bad about Lae'zel is getting banned (/s about the banned part), but this is not a reason to pick these races as a fighter at all. This is day 1 build stuff. I would be embarrassed to have shared such blatantly incorrect info so widely.
Acrobatics proficiency - Here he stresses the importance of proficiency in acrobatics to avoid getting shoved around. On a high Str character who following his guide would be proficient in athletics. How did he get this 100% wrong on both his monk and fighter builds?
Ability scores...again - If you follow one of his backup recommendations to take toughness at level 12 then things do work themselves out to even numbers. So there is a chance you could end up on a decently planned out build by following his guide.
Action surge + extra attack - he says that a level five fighter who action surges can make 3 attacks a turn, and how strong this is. Imagine if he actually played this character or had a basic rule understanding to learn that a level 5 action surging fighter can make 4 attacks a turn. He doesn't comment on action surge on a level 11 fighter but I am sure he would see stars given just how strong he thought 3 attacks a turn at level 5 was.

Conclusion

I could make a post nitpicking any one of his builds in a post as long as this one. But it would be a lot of stuff along the lines of, "You say to use any heavy crossbow on the fighter character, but really this character would be best served by bows that give an increase to initiative." That is not the point of this post. This post is to point out more than just disagreements. It is to point out fundamental misunderstandings on Alcast's part and why I would never recommend one of his builds. If he can't understand proficiencies and ability modifiers, should you trust any part of his builds?

I'm completely lost and need lots of guidance. Below is a very detailed background of my academics and career so far, and I would greatly appreciate any guidance that you can provide me. If this post is too long for you to read, please let me know, and I will reply with a much shorter, tl;dr version:
Background: I recently graduated from a state school that is considered to be a "semi-to-non-target" within the financial industry with dual degrees in computer science and finance. Due to depression and personal issues, my grades during my first two years of undergrad were abominable. However, I was able to get my act together and achieve mostly A's during my final 2 years of undergrad, but this was only enough to raise my final cumulative GPA to a lackluster ~3.3/4.0. My extracurriculars aren't impressive, consisting of one internship at a local business, one internship at a small IB/PE firm, one externship at a mid-sized VC firm, and a few entrepreneurial endeavors. I've applied to hundreds of financial firms, from MMs to BBs, and I keep getting rejected, most of the time without even getting an interview. Since graduating in December 2023, I have been unemployed for five months.
Therefore, I have applied to several graduate programs, including various Master of Science in Finance, MSFs, to "reset my GPA" and enhance my prospects in the industry, as well as several Master of Financial Engineering, MFEs, to not only "reset my GPA" and enhance my prospects in the industry, but also immerse myself in the confluence of tech and finance to propel myself into a career in quantitative finance. In my undergraduate education, I obtained dual degrees in finance and computer science but did not receive an education that combined these two disciplines. Just to be clear, I would be happy with any role in the financial industry, whether it be consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or a more quantitative role, but I seem to keep getting rejected everywhere.
I recently took the GMAT Focus, achieving a score of 715 (99th percentile), and the GRE, scoring 337/340 (Q: 170/170, V: 167/170). Regarding the MSF programs I applied to, I was accepted by Georgetown and Villanova, rejected by Vanderbilt, and am awaiting a decision from UT Austin. As for the MFEs, I was turned down by Carnegie Mellon and Berkeley, am waiting to hear from Columbia, and was accepted by UCLA.
Of the schools I've been accepted into, I'm still trying to decide between UCLA's Master of Financial Engineering program and Georgetown's Master of Science in Finance program. My decision hinges on whether I want to follow a more traditional financial industry career path, such as investment banking, private equity, venture capital, consulting, etc., or opt for a more quantitative role. Despite being proficient in programming and holding a CS degree, all my internships have been in finance, and I have yet to apply my CS and quantitative skills in a practical internship setting. Currently, I'm inclined to choose UCLA, and I aspire to become a Quant someday. However, my connections in that sector are limited, and I'm uncertain if I would prefer being a Quant to a traditional finance role.
Based on my situation, should I choose UCLA MFE or Georgetown MSF? UCLA's MFE would provide me with a more technical, quantitative education where I'd learn much more, whereas I probably learned everything in the Georgetown MSF curriculum during my undergraduate studies as a finance major (although one could argue that this would be a reason for choosing Georgetown since I would be more likely to achieve easy A's). Georgetown MSF is remote, while UCLA MFE is in-person. UCLA MFE has a far lower acceptance rate (Georgetown MSF is far easier to get into than Georgetown undergrad, I've heard the former accepts almost everyone). UCLA seems more prestigious. Which of these two schools has a higher placement rate within the financial industry?
At first, UCLA might seem like the obvious choice, but there are two factors that complicate this decision. Firstly, Georgetown is much cheaper. Georgetown is giving me a $40K scholarship, making my total program cost just another $40K. Additionally, the remote option would save me so much money on housing and other expenses. The UCLA program costs $85K in total, and I don't know how much scholarship I will receive yet, but it probably won't be anywhere near as much as Georgetown's. Secondly, although I wouldn't mind living in LA for a temporary 1.5-year program, I would hate to live there long-term. While UCLA might have better placements overall, I believe Georgetown has more placements in NYC than UCLA (correct me if I'm wrong). LA is near the bottom of my list of major US cities I would like to live in long-term, and I would STRONGLY, STRONGLY prefer to reside in NYC.
Secondly, do you think quantitative finance is the right career path for me, or should I pursue a more traditional finance role? If I decide to try to become a Quant, how likely is the UCLA MFE program to get me a Quant role?

So last year I had someone staying with me for like 2ish months. I was being kind-hearted because they let me stay with them before even though I didn't even stay for a month. It was very difficult because they literally came with baggage and I don't mean actual baggage. It wasn't just one mouth to feed I had to feed the other mouth as well. But not only that they didn't have any income, but they wanted me to drive them everywhere and do all these extra things that they didn't have the reimbursements for. They also did not help me clean the house EVER. They stayed in the living room, because I only had a two bedroom house at the time and my children had their own room. I had to ask them to take their air mattress down because they would just leave it up. At the time I had cats so my cats could have easily messed up the mattress that was the main concern but also my living room was very small and as soon as I walked out of my room I entered my living room and the mattress would be in the way. I just thought that was inconsiderate. But also they really didn't shower they would go a whole week or so without taking a shower that really bothered me. This person used to sit in my car for hours at a time, they smoked cigarettes so a lot of times they would sit in my car with the door open and smoke and be on the phone or whatever. I leave my wallet in the car most of the time if not all the time. This person also has been right next to me as I was using my card. I was the main one contributing the groceries, I was the only one putting in gas for the most part. And obviously I was the only one paying my bills at the time. They didn't even really try to help me with the bills at all. (Forgot to mention they had a fixed income with ssi, no actual job of employment which they were still able to work they just didn't want to get a job). The original agreement upon this person living with me was just for them to have somewhere to stay until they can figure out where to go for their housing voucher. They didn't even really try to look for housing that accepted their vouchers. Even though I provided the list for the entire county that we were in of every single location that accepted these housing vouchers. And on top of that they got mad at me when they asked if people can come over and I was hesitant at first because again it was a small house. And I also have offspring. I didn't even really have anyone coming over it was a select few of people that I allowed over. Not only that this person would try to gaslight me and manipulate me whether they knew of it or not. And when I spoke on it they automatically got offended they had a HEAVY narcissistic characteristics. I felt bad because I didn't want to kick them out because they also had offspring (hence the other mouth). So I was really conflicted for the longest as to what to do. They wanted to go back home (orginally from NY), but wasn't able to because they didn't have the financial means. They ended up going to someone else's house and ended up staying there for a while and working part-time and then I heard they went back home which is where they remained. But they left all of their things in my living room minus the duffel bag they had took with them. Now I did not mention in the midst of all of this before they arrived my house was fine I didn't have anything weird going on for the most part. And I kept it as clean as I could given the small space. with all of that clutter in my living room it was really messing with my anxiety. But not only that this person brought roaches to my house, it was bad enough that I had to go to my friend's house to wash my clothing because I didn't have a working washer and dryer at the time. And I found out after going to their house to wash my clothes they had fleas because I brought them back to my house. So I was fixated on getting rid of the fleas which I obtained. Only to discover the person that was temporarily staying with me brought roaches to my house. If anybody ever got any roaches you understand how hard it is to get rid of them. So when they left I decided to pack all of their items and put them in the small crawl space that was on the side of my house under my house. And I also informed them that I did this because they were completely aware of the situation of what had happened. I ended up moving because I could not completely get rid of the roaches but I let them know in advance before I was moving so they can come get their things. as far as I'm concerned their things are still in the crawl space. Now fast forward to this year. So recently I had to take a trip to the store to get some items for home. I went to the same store that I always go to a couple times every month. There wasn't anything unusual there. I made sure that I got everything that I needed and had to go down some more aisles because I forgot a few things prior to going to check out. Once arriving to check out I looked at the card reader and nothing looked off or anything it looked just like a regular machine. I proceeded to make sure everything was out of the buggy and waited for my items to be bagged before placing them into the buggy. As I went to the terminal to check out everything seems fine nothing felt loose or out of the ordinary. I proceeded to complete my transaction and went back to my vehicle with my little ones and I went home because me and my partner share a vehicle and he had to go to work as soon as I got home. Fast forward to the next morning I had to go to a different store because I wasn't able to get everything that I needed to get that day due to me and my partner sharing my vehicle. And once again I went ahead and made sure I had everything that I needed before going to check out, and I went to check out and proceeded to make sure everything was out of the buggy while the cashier rang me up. And as I was trying to check out and complete the transaction I got denied. I went ahead and checked my card app and it said I only had a few cents left in my account. So I had to avoid the entire transaction. Mind you I had my little one with me my oldest she was devastated and very confused. Once I got home I dug a little deeper and found out that two transactions was made the day before while I was home and my partner had my vehicle. And then for other transactions were made the morning prior to me going to the other store of that saturday. After further investigation upon contacting whom I needed to contact in regards to the matter these transactions were made in New york. I assumed there was a fake card reader on the terminal at the store that I had went to....

A WhatsApp chat started by some wealthy Americans after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack reveals their focus on Mayor Eric Adams and their work to shape U.S. opinion of the Gaza war.
A group of billionaires and business titans working to shape U.S. public opinion of the war in Gaza privately pressed New York City’s mayor last month to send police to disperse pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University, according to communications obtained by The Washington Post and people familiar with the group.

Business executives including Kind snack company founder Daniel Lubetzky, hedge fund manager Daniel Loeb, billionaire Len Blavatnik and real estate investor Joseph Sitt held a Zoom video call on April 26 with Mayor Eric Adams (D), about a week after the mayor first sent New York police to Columbia’s campus, a log of chat messages shows. During the call, some attendees discussed making political donations to Adams, as well as how the chat group’s members could pressure Columbia’s president and trustees to permit the mayor to send police to the campus to handle protesters, according to chat messages summarizing the conversation.
One member of the WhatsApp chat group told The Post he donated $2,100, the maximum legal limit, to Adams that month. Some members also offered to pay for private investigators to assist New York police in handling the protests, the chat log shows — an offer a member of the group reported in the chat that Adams accepted. The New York Police Department is not using and has not used private investigators to help manage protests, a spokeswoman for City Hall said.
The messages describing the call with Adams were among thousands logged in a WhatsApp chat among some of the nation’s most prominent business leaders and financiers, including former CEO of Starbucks Howard Schultz, Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell, hedge fund manager Bill Ackman and Joshua Kushner, founder of Thrive Capital and brother to Jared Kushner, former president Donald Trump’s son-in-law.
People with direct access to the chat log’s contents supplied them to The Post. They shared the information on the condition of anonymity because the chat’s contents were meant to stay private. Members of the group verified the chat’s existence and their comments.
The chat was initiated by a staffer for billionaire and real estate magnate Barry Sternlicht — who never joined directly, instead communicating through the staffer, according to chat messages and a person close to Sternlicht. In an Oct. 12 message, one of the first sent in the group, the staffer posting on behalf of Sternlicht told the others the goal of the group was to “change the narrative” in favor of Israel, partly by conveying “the atrocities committed by Hamas … to all Americans.”
Israel estimates 1,200 people were killed in Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack. In the months since the war began, the death toll in Gaza has risen above 35,000, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
The chat group formed shortly after the Oct. 7 attack, and its activism has stretched beyond New York, touching the highest levels of the Israeli government, the U.S. business world and elite universities. Titled “Israel Current Events,” the chat eventually expanded to about 100 members, the chat log shows. More than a dozen members of the group appear on Forbes’s annual list of billionaires; others work in real estate, finance and communications.
Overall, the messages offer a window into how some prominent individuals have wielded their money and power in an effort to shape American views of the Gaza war, as well as the actions of academic, business and political leaders — including New York’s mayor.
“He’s open to any ideas we have,” chat member Sitt, founder of retail chain Ashley Stewart and the global real estate company Thor Equities, wrote April 27, the day after the group’s Zoom call with Adams. “As you saw he’s ok if we hire private investigators to then have his police force intel team work with them.”
Sitt declined to comment through a spokeswoman. A half-dozen prominent members of the group confirmed on the record their participation in the chat. Multiple people familiar with the group confirmed the names of other members. Cypriot Israeli real estate billionaire Yakir Gabay, a chat member, wrote in a statement shared by a spokesperson that he joined the group because he wanted to “share support at a difficult and painful time,” to aid the victims of Hamas attacks and to “try and correct the false and misleading information intentionally spread worldwide to deny or cover up the suffering caused by Hamas.”
Asked about the Zoom meeting with chat group members, the mayor’s office did not address it directly, instead sharing a statement from deputy mayor Fabien Levy noting that New York police entered Columbia’s campus twice in response to “specific written requests” from university leadership. “Any suggestion that other considerations were involved in the decision-making process is completely false,” Levy said. He added, “The insinuation that Jewish donors secretly plotted to influence government operations is an all too familiar antisemitic trope that the Washington Post should be ashamed to ask about, let alone normalize in print.”
Adams demonstrated a willingness to send law enforcement to deal with campus protesters from the beginning. He sent police to Columbia’s campus to disperse pro-Palestinian demonstrators on April 18, at the university’s request — about a day after protesters erected their Gaza solidarity encampment. Officers arrested more than 100 protesters. The mayor has subsequently alleged student activists were affected by “outside influences” — and that police intervention was needed to prevent “children” from being “radicalized.”
Both he and Columbia’s president have since drawn criticism — but also support — for involving police, adding to a fraught stretch for Adams, who is up for reelection in 2025 and faces an FBI corruption investigation into whether his 2021 campaign received illegal donations from Turkey. Adams has defended that campaign, saying he held it to “the highest ethical standards.”
Four days after chat members held the video call with Adams, student protesters occupied a campus building and Columbia’s president invited police back to campus to clear the building. Officers removed and arrested dozens of protesters, pushing, striking and dragging students in the process, The Post reported. One officer accidentally fired his gun.
Months before the protests at Columbia this spring, some chat members attended private briefings with former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett; Benny Gantz, a member of the Israeli war cabinet; and Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Michael Herzog, according to chat records.
Members of the group also worked with the Israeli government to screen a roughly 40-minute film showing footage compiled by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) — titled “Bearing Witness to the October 7 Massacre” — to audiences in New York City. The film portrays killings committed by Hamas. A chat member asked for help from other members to show the film at universities; it was later screened at Harvard, a showing chat member Ackman helped facilitate, attended and promoted publicly. Sternlicht declined to comment on the record, although a person close to him — speaking on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the chat group publicly — confirmed the real estate tycoon initiated the chat. Other members of the chat, including Ackman and Schultz, confirmed their membership.
A spokesman said Ackman had not participated in the chat since Jan. 10, adding Ackman never spoke to Adams about the Columbia protests or donated to Adams’s campaign, although Ackman “likes and is supportive of the Mayor.” Joshua Kushner declined to comment.
On Oct. 12, a staffer for Sternlicht relayed a message from his boss outlining the group’s mission: While Israel worked to “win the physical war,” the chat group’s members would “help win the war” of U.S. public opinion by funding an information campaign against Hamas. The campaign was referred to in the chat as "Facts for Peace.”
The news site Semafor reported in November that Sternlicht was launching a $50 million anti-Hamas media campaign with various Wall Street and Hollywood billionaires. The people involved, per Semafor’s reporting, include some members of the WhatsApp chat, a review by The Post found. The chat messages, the contents of which have never before been reported, appear to reveal the start of the campaign, as well as separate pro-Israel activities undertaken later by chat members. It is unclear to what extent the chat group and media campaign overlapped.
Some of the media campaign’s activities were public, including its website, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and X accounts, which together attracted more than 170,000 followers.
High-level contacts, private briefings
At a moment of rising antisemitism, the staffer for Sternlicht wrote in one of the first chat messages that his boss was proud of his Jewish heritage and wanted to support Israel, but was also concerned about security. Anonymity, the staffer wrote Oct. 12 on Sternlicht’s behalf, “is a practical need and concern for safety of my family in an increasingly complex world.”
The staffer wrote that Sternlicht understood if other members felt similarly and promised that all contributions to the media campaign would remain anonymous. “I’m sensitive to concerns about being less effective if it appears that this is a Jewish initiative,” the staffer wrote, speaking for Sternlicht. From the start of the chat, members sought guidance and information from officials in the Israeli government.
Some of the WhatsApp chat members said in the chat they attended private briefings about the Gaza war with Israeli war cabinet member Gantz, former prime minister Bennett and Herzog, the ambassador. The chat log shows Zoom invites for these meetings.
“Most appreciative for the behind the scenes briefing by Naftali Bennett,” Schultz, the former CEO of Starbucks, wrote to the group on Oct. 16. “Quite extraordinary!”
Bennett did not respond to a request for comment. Gantz could not be reached for comment. A spokesperson for the Israeli Embassy in Washington said the briefing Herzog gave chat members was “one of dozens” the ambassador delivered that month, adding that “communities here in the U.S. understandably wanted to learn more about what was happening on the ground in Israel.”
A spokesperson for Schultz confirmed in a statement that he attended the briefing with Bennett, but said Schultz “did not participate in, or contribute financially to, any of the group’s work.” Schultz was neither involved in discussions about Adams and the Columbia protests nor screenings of the film, according to a spokesman.
In late October, the chat records show, chat members appear to have suggested to Israeli officials they should hold a private New York City screening for media of “Bearing Witness,” the IDF film featuring graphic footage recorded by Hamas gunmen on body cameras and cellphones as they attacked Israel. Sitt wrote in a message to the group on Oct. 27 that Israeli officials wanted to thank them “for coming up with the concept of the press event in NYC.”
The next month, the group showed the film in New York, records show. Sitt wrote on Nov. 10 that the Israeli government “arranged for us” to screen the film in Gotham Hall on Nov. 17, adding in a later message the showing “will be listed as a IDF event not affiliated to Facts for Peace to keep them separate.”
In ensuing months, group members wrote in the chat to flag news articles or social media posts about Israel, events in Gaza or, later, college campus protests.
‘So NYPD can return’ Columbia students first set up an encampment April 17, eventually leading some Jewish students to allege the protests had forged a hostile and harassing atmosphere. Police stepped in to clear the encampment at the Columbia president’s request on April 18, arresting more than 100 demonstrators.
In the chat, discussion of how Adams was handling the Columbia protests — and how group members could help — took off the following day, after student protesters built a new encampment to replace the demolished one.
Lubetzky, of the snack company Kind, posted in the chat sharing a link to an Instagram video showing an Israeli Arab journalist getting hit by a man the video caption claims is an “anti-Israel protester.” Not long after, billionaire Blavatnik posted a picture of Adams and wrote, “He needs help.”
Sitt responded that he had already “been helping but can use more support.” He asked if others were “open to giving” to Adams.
Gabay, the Cypriot Israeli real estate billionaire, replied: “Pls send the info. Thanks.” Then Blavatnik posted an ActBlue link allowing donations to the Eric Adams 2025 committee.
Lubetzky messaged: “If there is a group to contribute through, or a way to ensure our contributions are known to be related to his efforts to fight antisemitism and hate, pls let us know and I will support meaningfully alongside you guys.” Sitt replied that he was arranging a “code” for such donations; asked about this message, Vito Pitta, counsel to Adams’s 2025 campaign, said “there is no ‘special code’ for contributions.”
A spokeswoman for Blavatnik said he contributed $2,100 to Adams’s reelection campaign in April. She said the donation was given “to endorse Mayor Adams’ stalwart support of Israel and firm stand against antisemitism.”
Spokespeople for Lubetzky, Sitt and Gabay said they did not donate to Adams. Loeb declined to comment.
In the chat, discussion turned to the fact that Columbia had to grant Adams permission before he could send city police to the campus.
One member asked if the group could do anything to pressure Columbia trustees to cooperate with the mayor. In reply, former congressman Ted Deutch (D-Fla.), CEO of the American Jewish Committee, shared a PDF of a letter his organization had sent that day to Columbia President Minouche Shafik calling on her to “shut these protests down.”
“Also in touch with the board,” Deutch wrote to the chat group.
“So NYPD can return.”
Asked for comment, a spokeswoman for Deutch wrote in an email to The Post that the American Jewish Committee “values all opportunities to engage with various individuals and institutions who support the Jewish people and the State of Israel.” Asked about the chat group and its activities, a Columbia spokesperson wrote, “We have no knowledge of this.”
A Zoom video call with chat group members and Adams took place a little after 11 a.m. April 26, according to chat records.
It is unclear how many members attended the meeting, which lasted for roughly 45 minutes, chat records show. Those present included at least Blavatnik, Sitt, Loeb and Lubetzky, according to the chat logs.
Sitt wrote minutes after the call ended to summarize items “discussed today,” including donating to Adams, using group members’ “leverage” to help persuade Columbia’s president to let New York police back on campus and paying for “investigative efforts” to assist the city.
Lubetzky replied listing concrete actions group members should take. These included resharing a link to offer financial support to Adams, calling and writing to Columbia’s president and board of trustees, and “getting Black Leaders to condemn Anti-Semitism.” He named several people he would contact and asked if anyone in the group knew Jay-Z, LeBron James or Alicia Keys.
Asked about his comments, Lubetzky wrote in a statement to The Post that “building bridges between the Black and Jewish communities … is more important than ever.”
Blavatnik, through a spokeswoman, confirmed he attended the Zoom with Adams but said he did not “participate in a conversation about private investigators and is unaware of discussions related to that subject.” The spokeswoman noted other people on the Zoom said things Blavatnik “did not weigh in on or agree with.” She said the billionaire, a Columbia alumnus and donor, only joined the Zoom to understand how Adams “was thinking about the Columbia protests.”
The evening after the call, Sitt shared the ActBlue link for donations to Adams’s 2025 committee.
The chat does not record who donated money to Adams nor how much. The New York City Campaign Finance Board website shows donations sent only up to January of this year; more recent donations will not become public until July.
Pitta, the Adams campaign lawyer, said the campaign had not received donations from Lubetzky, Loeb, Sitt or Gabay. He confirmed Blavatnik had donated but did not respond to questions asking about the timing of Blavatnik’s donation.
A day after the April 26 Zoom with Adams, Loeb wrote the chat group to share reflections on what transpired during the call. He wrote that it was “a sad state that we feel the need to grovel to ask our elected officials to do their jobs.” He added, “I’ll be grateful when the perpetrators are dragged off campus.”
Police returned to Columbia on April 30, arresting dozens of demonstrators who had occupied a university building. Columbia President Shafik had requested law enforcement’s aid in a letter, writing that the takeover of Hamilton Hall raised “serious safety concerns.” She asked police to remain on campus at least through May 17.
The morning afterward, Adams gave a news conference summarizing the action. “We went in and conducted an operation,” he said, “to remove those who have turned the peaceful protests into a place where antisemitism and anti-Israel attitudes were pervasive.”

A person close to Sternlicht said he decided to shutter the group because the activities were moving beyond the initial objectives and the people who started it — including himself — were no longer actively participating, and hadn’t been for months.
“We are incredibly grateful for the dialogue and support that this group has provided over the past 7 months,” wrote a staffer for Sternlicht. The staffer wrote that members should not hesitate to reach out if they needed anything.
“We are stronger together,” the staffer wrote in closing.

I'm not an expert at this stuff but I will certainly try. First things first, I would totally still allow them to be obtained through the arena, but I don't like how you can literally fully OS Tune your AC without any consequences. I would make them more abundant in the arena itself but reduce the amount you acquire from Analysis Mode. I would then put in a refund system where you can refund your OS Chips if you want to change up your build. That is all, I'm not a professional and I sincerely hope you guys assist me in the comment section.

I attended an outdoor wedding as part of the entourage (with outdoor photoshoots at different times of the day), and did my own makeup so I wanted to share the MVPs of my look.
I applied it at around 10am and went home at around 2am na the next day, and I spent most of the day outdoors, and the temperature was mga 40 degrees. I am super oily and super pawisin sa mukha, as in BEADS of sweat talaga dripping down my face. Unfortunately, I don't have close-up shots of my face for makeup comparison b/c I was too preoccupied with not dying from the heat lol.
1. Biore Perfect Milk - I always use this sunscreen when I'm doing a full face of makeup during the day because of how intense its oil-control properties are. It also helps prevent my makeup from slipping. Same reason I don't use it everyday is because it can be drying even for someone as oily as I am. Around P500
2. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Matt - After years of searching I have found my HG replacement for my dead and discontinued Becca Ever Matte Primer! Absorbs really, really well without drying out my face. No silicone-y or slippery feeling left afterwards. A cheaper alternative that works about as well is the Spotlight Skin Mattifying Primer. Only difference is it doesn't feel as comfortable kasi mas may silicone feel yung finish niya sa skin ko even after nag-absorb na. Bought at duty free which converted was just around P1K
3. BLK Life Proof Airy Matte Foundation - Bought this coz none of my full coverage foundations (ELDW, Maybelline, Revlon) were playing well with my Ben Nye Final Seal. Provided medium coverage until mga 3pm (that's about 5hrs of wear), then I needed to retouch na with my Pond's BB Powder. It looked more like a skin tint na lang after that point. Still photographed really well though until the afterparty. Tbh MVP ko siya coz it works with my Ben Nye. Applied with a flat kabuki brush. Around P700? Don't remember na exact price
4. Pond's Magic BB Powder - HG!! I used this to set my foundation, then used it to touch-up late in the afternoon. Oil control is amazing no matter how sweaty I get. Really great at removing that hulas look. I even use this on its own on light makeup days. Also works well under sunscreen spray. AND SUPER CHEAP. I'm on my second bottle na. Applied with a powder puff. P149-199
5. Ben Nye Final Seal - Sa sobrang HG ko nito, bumili ako ng foundation that can play well with it. Expensive but so worth it. I've tried other setting sprays (UD All Nighter, Nichido, Vice, Revlon), but they've all transferred EXCEPT for this one. This one talaga ZERO transfer no matter how many hours I'm out or how oily and sweaty I get. This literally forms a seal on your face so your makeup does not budge. Not advisable for dry skin though because it is really drying. Cheaper alternative would be Revlon Lock It. Very minimal transfer when I was testing it out, not drying, and worked well with my full coverage foundations. P1830 discounted to P1593 with shop voucher for 4oz (around 118ml)
6. Kiko Milano Long Lasting Eyeshadow Stick - New HG! This did not budge AT. ALL. Kahit tumulo yung pawis ko sa may eyes ko, this didn't fade, melt, or transfer. I had this all over my lid and it's a bright color so halata talaga if mawala siya. Color payoff is also amazing; no need for multiple swipes unless you're extra like me. Got compliments for my eye makeup even during the evening. Now I want to buy this in every color lol. Around P700
7. Y.O.U. Sunbrella Outdoor Sunscreen Spray - I use an active so I knew I had to get a touch-up sunscreen that wouldn't mess up my makeup. Bought this coz this dried down the best on my skin, and worked really well for me. Nung humahapdi na mukha ko from the prolonged sun exposure, I sprayed this and it helped. Sprayed on my face and shoulders twice, and it didn't disturb my makeup or make me overly oily. Worked really well even my guy friends were borrowing it. P399
8. Revlon Oil-Absorbing Volcanic Roller - HG. Tbh I really thought gimmick lang toh, but I was desperate to get my makeup to last throughout the whole wedding na nagpa-budol na ko when the SA said you can use this on top of my makeup. Wedding day I learned that some products are really worth the budol. Did not disturb my makeup at all, and absorbed my oiliness completely. I was able to do 3 full passes throughout the day before bumigay siya and I had to wash it na (yes, that's how oily my skin is lol). Mahal lang compared to other oil control sticks, but I've tried the Sassy Cosmetics (P200), and after 1 full pass, I had to wash the Sassy Cosmetics one na. So may difference din talaga sa quality based on the price. Around P800
Other things to note:

DO A WEAR TEST. And make sure to include the whole skincare routine you'll be doing during the wedding every time. I was doing wear tests for 2 weeks leading up to the wedding. Make sure to simulate the environment as much as you can, e.g. outdoor wedding = no AC wear tests, go outdoors
Labas pasok ako sa aircon so I experienced a lot of drastic temperature changes during the day as well.
I was very strict with my skincare routine leading up to the wedding because the best base is still a solid skincare regimen.
I didn't use any actives week of the wedding because I knew I'd be exposed to the heat the whole day.
HAND HELD FANS WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. I had 2 para pag namatay yung isa, I had a back-up. Lo and behold, I did need the backup. Also helped the sunscreen spray dry faster

I dunno, I’ve wronged some people, intentionally or not, unknowingly or knowingly.
I do recall spitting horrific insults, violent and maybe hurtful against some people I perceive to have made my life hell.
Most of the time I just remain silent though.
Living in a residential treatment center as a teenager gets old.
Too old, I am very introverted, I don’t enjoy external stimulation and the reduced privacy, not too much time where I can rest and let shit out, I haven’t any friends to talk to, I’m very fearful and avoidant for two reasons mainly, don’t wanna get hurt, don’t want people to get hurt.
I was grumbling this morning about the driver who takes us to school stopping by a 7/11 that was right across the street from it, aswell as making a stop by a jamaican beef patty place too halfway through the ride, someone explained to me that I was indeed being somewhat selfish as I do take forever to get my hygiene together and my ass out of bed, being depressed and drained has its’ perks I guess.
I understand that was wrong, it seems he most likely needed breakfast and there was a chance he couldn’t make his way to the 7/11 after school starts.
For context as to my behaviors:
I get lost in thought doing stuff all the time, hence my hygiene being long, have been working on it though, trying to route my thoughts back onto the task as much as possible, reduced it to about 45-50 minutes in total before I’m ready.
I still struggle to get out of bed, I just got an alarm clock but it seems I forget where the snooze button is, being groggy, irritable, and my mind being foggy when I wake up, not to mention I don’t feel motivated, excited or happy to do anything or to run myself into a hellish concrete noisebox, the school we go to is kinda iffy in quality and structure, well, there is no real order tbh, things are always loud, and I can’t get much of a break but they told me of a few specific people I can go to, my social worker there essentially declared me to not be worth his time though, I just wanted some time to rest and maybe talk whenever I met with him but it seems he ran out of patience and stopped being supportive.
I’ve had a shit life so far, bad luck and even worse decisions do that, not gonna too much get into it as it’s only relevant in that it gave me trust issues, emotional control problems, and the big sad (depression), talking too much about it would only be counterintuitive as I am here to see if I can get the POV of an outsider to help myself with a decision on how to improve myself, not seek pity, I still may share a lot so scroll to the bottom if you don’t want to read it.
Asian family, NYC, abuse, I feel personally that my family is composed of narcissistic assholes, the physical abuse/corporal punishment only ended when ACS was called, childish arguments over trivial things and slights, get old though, I was told that it could just be communication problems but I doubt it as every time I trusted them I only suffered and wound up guiltripped into doing what they want, study endlessly at the cost of my sanity, being threatened with them rescinding all validation, ‘love’ and help.
My residential’s social worker encountered similar problems in childhood and seems to be supportive to some degree, but recently she refused to apologize for certain actions that only ate away at me instead of helping despite me telling her, including waving her hand in front of my phone jokingly when I was typing in the journal app, finishing up a cathartic rant, and forcing me into activities I don’t want to do because it only served to remind me of how fucked I am and made me share stuff I don’t feel comfortable sharing.
She also was one of the person stating my familial issues could just be communication problems and I’m tired of them trying to convince me that my family totally gives a shit at all, my mother does occasionally feel like making more generous offers when I am replacing some old things but sometimes she skimps out on important parts, maybe half assing the deal by replacing a component of the thing I asked for with a cheaper item, that sometimes could be detrimental to the thing as a whole, though some of these times she could replace some items with expensive stuff with or without necessity, often I am reluctant to accept, I recently did get the latest iphone but my old phone was running out of storage and was really dinged up and I don’t get to replace my phone very often, it’s on a basis of once every few years.
My family may skimp out on some of my other needs, primarily personal space and emotional, aswell as maybe hygiene products depending on the case (I don’t like using irish spring or years old dove bars and most of the bath and shower stuff is suited for their needs, and before I had to argue for quite a bit in some instances regarding deodorants and getting different soap.) which is why I feel like the above is just window dressing, I do get berated and shamed for trivial stuff excessively, but it all just leads to arguments whenever I try to address it with them regardless of what tone I chose to speak to them with.
I don’t know what to make of all the above and pardon me if it is excessive, I am aware I am not the most emotionally stable and I can come off as rude or self absorbed but I have been dealing with a lot more lately, and I snap more easily when that happens, and don’t wanna be bothered, frankly you don’t walk away happy from being yelled and jeered at by bullies at the school and being told to kill yourself, and being told you have to deal with it for character development, I also hate being lonely (I’m literally alone, got no friends and even shittier self esteem, feel too ashamed and fearful to make friends and I have habits that drive people away, partially derived from said loneliness), the people I’ve met, I don’t know if I’ve read them wrong but I don’t trust them, they say I should try to share and communicate but frankly that is difficult when it seems they don’t want to, in many of the cases I don’t feel heard either as I am talked over or interrupted, rushed even, including sometimes by the social workers.
Now, I don’t know if it’s because they are stressed themselves but it gets old.
