2024.05.19 20:39 kalebisreallybad There ain't any other place that'll understand

These last couple months I've never felt more free. I was told by CSM during a NTC rotation that I'll be going to Egypt (I slept close by and saw my name on the list) in April. I was absolutely over the moon, the more I talked to people the more I was thinking that this duty station was a rug waiting to be pulled from under me. This duty stations gotta be over hyped, but either way I don't know if I'll ever see it lol I've been screwed for so long by the army I'm not even mad anymore. My visa has been delayed so many times it's impressive, the state department held onto it for WEEKS and then now the Egyptian embassy has had it for a week longer then it should have. My orders had been erroneously rescinded at one point in this whole process at one point by HRC. And now that I've almost 7 weeks past my original date to leave even though I was told by every civilian I went to I was doing everything the correct way, I'm still being screwed. Keep in mind as well I've only got 13-14 months left on my contract so there is a time limit on this whole process for me. I'm just tired of being screwed. I've spend over 1000$ on this pcs already to get passports, luggage wifi shit for when I'm over there.
TLDR; The Army loves me and they show me by giving me an opportunity of a lifetime and then taking it away right before it's about to happen

2024.05.19 20:38 bachelorsuperfan66 Why a would reader tag their own name in the comments multiple times?

Has anyone seen this before? I have a new reader who isn't voting or writing any comments of their own but they just keep tagging their name on various lines. It's not enough to be considered spam but enough to be strange. They are not a writer, they have 10 followers and their profile picture is of Taylor Swift. They also have many reading lists that seem legit/personalized based on the title, a lot of which are related to the genre my book is from. At first, I thought it was because they liked certain lines, but now it's the most random stuff like: "I'll be there at nine" and "are you alright" etc. Anyway, it's funny and I wanted to know if anyone had an idea as to why a reader would do this.

2024.05.19 20:36 Rayof808 reply to a previous post -- BLSP status

Our weekly email updates have addressed all the issues regarding the Blue Sphere timeline, but for those who are not on our weekly email-update list, here is a rundown of the status of our Blue Sphere efforts and our overall mission...
It should also be noted that the "bears" on Stocktwits have made it their obsession to try to discredit our efforts, even though we have been successful thus far in placing BLSP into SEC-rule violation with our Transfer Project success and have been successful in our efforts to get BLSP trading in the U.S., something they constantly said could never be done.
One must truly wonder why they have had engaged in a non-stop battle to try to dissuade BLSPers from continuing their efforts.
The Blue Sphere case in Delaware concerns the Creditor's attempt to have the judgment for a previously-settled award enforced against a co-defendant, Leonite, who allegedly orchestrated the corporate fraud along with Blue Sphere management (specifically Shlomi Palas). The case is in its final stages, with the key deposition delayed until around August. Once this deposition is entered into court records, the case is likely to be decided within a couple of weeks thereafter.
The key to the Delaware case has been in the evidence uncovered during discovery, something that only happened because the Defendants refused to settle with the Plaintiff, which enabled the Plaintiff to pursue the case and eventually unearth damning evidence that corporate fraud had taken place. It is this newly-released email evidence that prompted the North Carolina case, which alleges all the Federal crimes that have taken place.
The Delaware case is the key to the North Carolina case. Everything that has been released in discovery has automatically been introduced into the North Carolina case. As a result of the mountain of already-submitted evidence, the North Carolina case will not have a lengthy discovery process, which often can take 1-2 years. This time-period has already been absorbed in the Delaware case, which began in 2022.
The Delaware case is a Creditor case, but the evidence in discovery opened up a new can of worms for Blue Sphere and Leonite, and the Plaintiff's charges have now risen to the point at which it has attracted the attention of the SEC and the DOJ.
Our Blue Sphere efforts have been broad and sweeping, but we have learned that the key to our primary objective requires the assistance of the SEC. As detailed in a recent email-update, the focus of our efforts is not to seek financial compensation but to have the courts appoint a receiver to manage the affairs of Sphere, claw back the embezzled funds, update the European revenues (over $10M in 2023) and consolidate them into their U.S. 10-K, and thereby regain compliance with the OTC Markets and SEC to return the stock to OTC for public trading. In addition, new management would allow the company to become the target or merge or takeover by another global IPP interested in acquiring these valuable European assets (valued at upwards of $100M according to court transcripts).
Once the North Carolina case begins (upon conclusion of the Delaware case), we expect the SEC to ramp up their investigation into the new charges alleged. As detailed in a previous email-update, the North Carolina Department of Justice filed a case on our behalf with the SEC, and the SEC acknowledged the receipt of the case in an email to a couple of BLSP investors. In addition, it was reported that the FBI has also been involved by contacting larger shareholders for more information regarding the allegations.
According to our court-reporter in North Carolina, the case is being handled by the same judge that ruled against Blue Sphere in an earlier related case, so the timeline for the North Carolina case will likely be streamlined. But of greater importance is the day the SEC publicly confirms their investigation, which they will only do when they are ready to employ their lawyers to take over on or behalf. Once this happens, then the future is a foregone conclusion.
So we are in a very good position as we watch the wheels of justice grind away. According to the reporter, the case will begin to generate possible media attention once the more serious allegations are entered into the North Carolina court case. This will be the first big step towards our long-term goal of exposing the fraud and taking our company back.
Were it not for the Delaware court case, BLSP shareholders would be in the same position as other small-cap companies that are getting away with investor fraud. The SEC simply does not have the resources to go after all these companies, so companies like ALYI, PLYZ, HMBL and hundreds of others will continue to succeed in stealing investor money with impunity. The level of their deceit does not rise to whatthe SEC requires for their efforts to be expended.
The evidence unveiled in the Delaware case, on the other hand, does place BLSP on the SEC radar screen, especially after the North Carolina Secretary of State (DOJ) filed the complaint on our behalf. The SEC now is aware of the embezzlement claim, which places our case far above any of the other small-cap stock claims.
So when people on Stocktwits try to demean the success we have made in the past 2 years by stating that "nothing will ever happen," they are simply denying where we stand at this time.
And those who say that the case "has not begun" and "will take years to resolve" do not understand that the Delaware case has placed the North Carolina case on a fast-track to resolution.
According to the reporter, the usual time-length of a court case is 2-5 years, but given the Delaware evidence that has already been entered into the North Carolina case, we have already passed 2 years and will likely see the trial case rapidly progress in 2024 and be resolved in 2025.
However, this is not our primary objective. The North Carolina court case seeks treble damages for the civil fraud, but this will activate the criminal case by the SEC, which then begins our mission for a court-appointed receiver to take over the company and restore the company's good name. This will mark the first step toward returning Blue Sphere to its rightful place as a publicly-traded and highly success waste-to-energy company.
Those who listen to the "bears" on Stocktwits are listening to ignorant comments by a few who begrudge our successful efforts and refuse to admit that we have made progress that no other small-cap shareholder bloc has ever accomplished.
To receive the weekly email-updates and stay abreast of the latest news developments, email me. Our email-group consists of 800 BLSP shareholders with a collective holding of over 2.1 Billion shares.

2024.05.19 20:36 lydialoeffler Grandmother's Probate

My grandmother's probate is currently in progress. The executor of the will and personal representative is my cousin who has, through this whole process, been pretty sketchy. My sister and I are to receive 80% of the money remaining in my grandmother's estate once probate is closed. We have an approximate estimate to that amount. The cousin and her daughters are to receive the other 10%. There has been little communication or explanation through this entire process. The only info I get is through the mail from the paralegal handling the case. I received this attached document from the cousin's daughter's personal address. She works for a law firm of her own, which is uninvolved with the case. What does this form mean and what would happen if my sister and I signed it? We each got a copy. This cousin provided a labeled envelope to return it to her personal address. Can anyone explain what this form involves or means?

2024.05.19 20:35 Gamer7928 Multimedia file playback troubles in Fedora Linux 40 - KDE Plasma

I don't exactly know where to report this or ask for help with this specific issue, but ever since I re-installed Fedora Linux 40 - KDE Plasma Spin, .MP4 multimedia files has been failing to render the video track of the video files and completely displays a black screen while the playback portion of the audio track plays flawlessly.
In addition to the above .MP4 multimedia file video playback problem, Twitch video is also constantly failing with error "Your browser encountered an error while decoding the video. (Error #3000)" while using Firefox.
At this time, I don't know if whether or not my specific .MP4 multimedia issue is a GStreamer codec problem is is being caused by a failure in Linux Kernel 6.8.9 which I read can cause problems with Steam games.
Last night I did try removing and then re-installing all the GStreamer codecs directly from Discover and then all those from Konsole. The only GStreamer codecs not currently installed on my system is:
For unknown reasons, the three GStreamer Multimedia Codecs listed above has a size of 0 B in Fedora Linux 40's repos.
Listed below is my laptop system information:
Does anyone have a clue as to what might be the actual cause of my .MP4 multimedia file video playback problem and/or constant Twitch video disconnection issues?
Also, I've read tell Ubuntu has a GUI mainline kernel installer that enables Ubuntu users install previously released Linux Kernels. Does Fedora has a similar app package for installing Linux Kernels?

2024.05.19 20:30 joshqqq-TFT 24M looking for a roommate in UES (~$1700 budget)

Hello! My name is Josh and Iโ€™m looking to find an apartment with one other guy in the upper east side. Iโ€™ve written a bit about myself and the apartment I want down below. Please reach out if youโ€™re interested.
For hobbies I like to play volleyball and play video games with friends. Also love walking around the city. Thursdays I meet friends for board games and Sundays I volunteer for blind baseball I work in finance and itโ€™s a remote job so Iโ€™ll work most days from a coffee shop and sometimes at home. I enjoy baking a few times a week and cook most of my meals at home. I am looking to adopt a small dog (15 pounds or less) any day now. Just need to find one I like haha. I will handle 100% of the responsibilities and take the dog with me almost everywhere
Apartment musts: 2 bedroom apartment, a common area, pet friendly, my bedroom less than $1800 Wants: below 90th st, washer and dryer somewhere in the building Haves: kitchenware and more furniture than Iโ€™m interested in keeping
Hereโ€™s a link to somewhere I really liked: https://streeteasy.com/rental/4406730?utm_campaign=rental_listing&utm_medium=app_share&utm_source=ios&utm_term=5997c8a652784bb

2024.05.19 20:22 UpNorthFinance_TO Let's brainstorm some permeant ways to keep prices lower

I think one of the most fundamental problems in Canadian society, that often gets over looked because of media coverage and racist trolls on the internet, is the LACK of real competition among Canadian businesses.
Especially among Telecom, Financial Services (banking) and of course grocers!
For the purposes of this post I want to propose some tactical things we can do as a community to help bankrupt Loblaw's Food Retail Business. We can't take down the entire empire and I want to keep us focused on this sub.
I know bankrupt might sound extreme and we have to think about the people that work there, but in the long run, it's better if there's MORE competition in this space.
NOT only for consumers, but for workers as well. The more employment options (employers) you have in an industry the better your wages are as a worker in said industry. They'll actually have to compete to keep talent.
So for all the techies in this thread here's my first pitch. We NEED a public database for food prices. Here's how I think we can get that to happen:
Now here's a call for the entrepreneurs/politically active folks it's all about location, location ,location!!!:
If you plan on doing something like this, leave a comment below or start a new post and give updates to the broader community.
From far and wide, all across the country, I hope we can work together and once again be the True North strong and free! For without choice we lose our freedom.

2024.05.19 20:21 TomTrustworthy How to make a dropdown list validated against the tabs in my google sheet file?

I am trying to do this without scripts if possible.
I need a drop down list in this cell that only has options based on the tab names. So if they duplicate a tab and rename it then I would need that renamed duplicate to be part of the validated list of options. I would also want to restrict some tabs from the list as the user shouldn't need them there anyways.
Is this possible?

2024.05.19 20:17 Lemixer Independant team up

Looking for some recs for fic with independant capes team up(not nessecary forming a fulltime team).
Example would be "split" where Taylor team's up with an OC dude that has sound based powers that uses shotgun(forgot the name).
Or "Camera Shy" where she teams up with noobs from BB and old timer tinker from outside the city(she mentors her if i remember right).
New wave counts too, like "Change of Pace" with GG team up or that fic with emotion based striketinker(technically builds armoweapons charged with emotions) that teams up with Laserdream(super rare team up btw) forgot the name.
I perfer more grounded powers and not some SI curbstomb in chapter 5 or somethin(dont mind SI).
Mc does not have to be Taylor, it can even be indepentant that some kind of affiliate with PRT for example that does some joint patrols occasionaly, dont want any villian MC unless its not malicious, dont mind "accidental" villian, but in that case i prefer no excesive bashing of PRT.
I just want some team tactics or overcoming stronger opponents by working together.
Crossovers are welcome too as long as they fit criteria in some way.
I read alot so there is no point in listing what i already read(dont remember all the names anyway), i would appreaciate any recs that fit.

2024.05.19 20:17 Substantial_Wear_311 How do I fix my issue with coding a MaxEnt test in R

I have been trying to conduct a MaxEnt test in R and have run into an issue that I can't solve. I would appreciate it if someone could help me. My environmental raster data and presence data are loading correctly. My pairwise correlation is showing accurate results. The issue is probably something straightforward, but the answer is eluding me. Here is my complete code and the error message I am receiving:

Plot pairwise correlations

GGally::ggpairs(correlationdata_df) + theme_bw()

Perform MaxEnt test -----------------------------------------------------

Check the number of observations in the data slot (coordinates of environmental layers)

Assuming train is your SWD object

coords_df <- train@coords # Extracting the coordinates data frame

Creating the data_obs object with X and Y columns

data_obs <- coords_df[, c("X", "Y")]

Displaying the first few rows of data_obs to verify

head(data_obs)

Check the length of the pa slot (presence/absence data)

pa_obs <- length(train@pa)
print(pa_obs)

Perform MaxEnt test

model_maxent_SSP585 <- train(data = train, method = "Maxent", fc = "lqph", reg = 1)

Perform MaxEnt test

model_maxent_SSP585 <- train(data = train, method = "Maxent", fc = "lqph", reg = 1)
Error in data.frame(..., check.names = FALSE) : arguments imply differing number of rows: 1, 2, 0
I believe it may be my data_obs and pa_obs results. They both show just one column, one row, and the total presence data.

2024.05.19 20:13 Specialist-Moment498 Scammed out of $7k and SSN from San Diego Zillow listing

I feel like such an idiot. Please avoid the same mistakes I did. Background is that I'm desperate for a new living situation (I'm separating from my partner) and was living out of town with my family while I figured things out.
Here's how it happened:
I found the *perfect* listing on Zillow and contacted the owner for a tour of the property on May 1. They responded saying the current tenant leaves May 15, that I can view the property after they move out, and then asked for my email for reservation and application (RED FLAG). I didn't even think twice about moving my conversation from Zillow to email at the time. I wish I hadn't.
Every communication from here on out was so professional. No spelling errors, no sob story. Just seemed like a person doing business, who had been a property manager for a long time. They sent a rental application form that asked for my SSN (RED FLAG), as well as info on my resident history and employment information. I googled the address and the listed property manager's name (Sharon Simmonds), and nothing questionable came up. I filled out the application.
I submitted the application form, was notified that it was accepted, and then was sent a lease to review and sign within 24hrs (RED FLAG). The application form looked professional and the terms made sense. I reviewed and signed.
Then I received receipt of the signed lease agreement, and was asked to proceed with the deposit to the address listed on the lease - either via wire or ACH transfer - and list the address in the wire description (RED FLAG). The bank was Navy Federal Credit Union, and that alone was enough for my stepdad to be convinced this was above-board. The NFCU affiliation didn't mean anything to me, but if my stepdad seemed so sure, that was enough for me.
I sent the funds on May 3, and after Sharon confirmed receipt, she said she'd meet me on move-in day (May 20), have a full tour of the unit, document the status of all appliances, and hand over the keys.
I followed up on May 13 to to ask about what time Sharon was available on the 20th, and she said she'd get back to me. She hasn't responded to any emails, calls, or texts since.
Last night, I looked up "Sharon Simmonds La Jolla" and found the same Zillow property listed on Vrbo. Same property manager name, same photos. I contacted the individual via Vrbo and they confirmed they hadn't posted the property on Zillow; it's exclusively a holiday rental. Here's the Vrbo listing: https://www.vrbo.com/593827
I know it was dumb. I was (am) in a complicated living situation and am dealing with personal stuff, so I unfortunately was the best target for this sort of scam. I just don't want anyone else to go through the same thing.
Anyway, I'm trying to move on without hating myself too much. I've reported the fraud to the police, called my bank, frozen my credit etc. Trying to do as much as I can to mitigate further damage, since I'm already assuming the $7k is completely gone.

FAQ

I live in Cuba/Canada/Haiti/USA, why are you posting on a Saturday?!
Because I'm writing this from Europe in the future where it's already Sunday. Timezones be crazy.
Why are there a bunch of non-board games in the board game list?
Because the Tabletop games category on Kickstarter includes anything remotely related to board games and sometimes things slip through my filters.
Why is this future award winning board game and literal saviour of humanity missing from your list?
Sometimes my filters get a bit overzealous and discard actually valid projects. If you feel something is missing for this reason, leave a comment and I'll add it (maybe).
Can I donate all my money to you?
No
Can you help me promote my game?
Please no. I make lists. Nothing more.
Your list is full of errors and now the great old ones have awaken!
Indeed, this fine piece of code runs purely on faith, trust and pixie dust, so anything can happen. Leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.

2024.05.19 20:11 tempmailgenerator Implementing Dynamic Email Functionality in Google Sheets with AppScript

Enhancing Google Sheets with Dynamic Email Features Using AppScript

Google Sheets has evolved beyond a mere spreadsheet tool, becoming a versatile platform for automating and streamlining various tasks, including email communication. The integration of AppScript, a powerful scripting language designed for Google's ecosystem, opens up possibilities for creating dynamic, automated email systems directly within Google Sheets. This capability allows users to send personalized email notifications, updates, or reminders based on the data stored in their sheets. By leveraging AppScript, individuals and organizations can significantly improve their workflow efficiency, ensuring that important information is communicated promptly and accurately.
The process of setting up a dynamic email reference involves scripting within the Google Sheets environment, utilizing AppScript to fetch data from cells and use it to populate email content. This approach not only automates the email sending process but also tailors the message according to specific criteria or triggers defined by the user. Whether it's sending out mass emails for a marketing campaign, dispatching personalized client updates, or automating internal notifications, the flexibility and power of AppScript with Google Sheets offer a scalable solution to meet diverse email communication needs.
Command Description
MailApp.sendEmail() Sends an email from the script
SpreadsheetApp.getActiveSpreadsheet() Gets the current active spreadsheet
getSheetByName() Accesses a specific sheet within the spreadsheet by name
getRange() Gets the range of cells specified in the sheet
getValues() Retrieves the values from the specified range

Exploring Dynamic Email Automation with Google Sheets and AppScript

Google Sheets and AppScript together provide a powerful combination for automating various tasks, including the dynamic sending of emails based on spreadsheet data. This functionality is particularly useful for businesses and organizations that require regular communication with clients, employees, or members based on updated spreadsheet information. For example, a marketing team can automate the sending of personalized promotional emails to a list of subscribers directly from a Google Sheet containing subscriber information and email content. Similarly, HR departments can utilize this setup to send out automated updates or notifications to employees. The beauty of using Google Sheets for these tasks lies in its accessibility and ease of use, allowing for real-time updates to email lists and content without the need for complex database software.
The technical aspect of setting up such an email automation system involves writing custom scripts using Google AppScript, a Javascript-based language that interacts with Google Apps. This script can be tailored to trigger emails when certain conditions are met, such as the addition of a new row with a subscriber's information or updates to existing rows. The script reads the specified range in the Google Sheet, extracts the necessary data (such as email addresses and message content), and uses the MailApp service to send out the emails. This approach not only streamlines the process of sending out large volumes of personalized emails but also introduces a level of customization and flexibility that traditional email marketing tools may lack. By integrating Google Sheets with AppScript, users can create a highly efficient, automated email system that can adapt to various needs and scenarios.

Automating Email Notifications with Google Sheets and AppScript

Google AppScript Code Example
const sheet = SpreadsheetApp.getActiveSpreadsheet().getSheetByName("Emails"); const range = sheet.getRange("A2:B"); const data = range.getValues(); data.forEach(function(row) { MailApp.sendEmail(row[0], "Your Subject Here", row[1]); });

Exploring Dynamic Email Automation with Google Sheets and AppScript

At the core of automating email communications through Google Sheets lies the powerful Google AppScript, a scripting platform that allows for the creation of custom functions and automation within the Google Workspace environment. This integration enables users to transform their spreadsheets into dynamic tools capable of sending personalized, data-driven emails automatically. By utilizing AppScript, users can effectively harness the data within their Google Sheets to initiate email campaigns, send out timely notifications, or even distribute personalized messages to a targeted audience based on specific conditions or triggers identified within their spreadsheet data.
The practical applications of this are vast, ranging from businesses that need to automate customer communications, educators sending course updates to students, to event organizers distributing tailored information to attendees. The process involves writing a script that interacts with both the spreadsheet data and the email service, dynamically generating and sending emails based on the content of the spreadsheet. This not only saves time but also introduces a level of personalization and efficiency that manual processes cannot match. The ability to automate these processes within Google Sheets using AppScript significantly enhances productivity, allowing users to focus on more strategic tasks while the system manages routine communications.

2024.05.19 20:11 AcrobaticSun9122 Dusseldorf Stadtwerke fine

Hello, I lived in an apartment in Dรผsseldorf for over a year and had a contract with an electricity company called Stadtwerke Dรผsseldorf. I moved out on the 1st of March and moved to a different country and instead of cancelling the contact I just blocked the payments from my card, which were like โ‚ฌ60. The landlord told me that new people were moving in so I assumed it would just be reassigned to them. A week ago my mom who still lives in germany got a paper in her mail sent to my name, saying that I must pay a โ‚ฌ3000 euro fine. It doesn't say why exactly. Apparently the contract is still assigned to my name, even though there are other people living in the apartment. So for 2 months the payments didn't go through, which is like โ‚ฌ120 total, and I got a fine for 3k?? If I provide information that I left the apartment in March will they cancel the fine? It's a big amount of money for nothing. Please help me. I cannot find their email, the only one listed says that it doesn't work, their whatsapp has been disabled and when I call the phone number that they have listed on the site, a robotic voice answers in German, which u don't understand. So does someone have any ideas?

2024.05.19 20:10 Remus-C Customize Abc - activate tests during build:

Customize Abc - activate tests during build:
There are 2 options: * Set this variable in main config file, for all projects. * Set this variable in "abc*.conf" for one project.
ARCH_LIST = "_ test" The 2nd identifier gives the name and activates a special new Arch.
When a project contains *.test.* sources, this happens in this order: * After main Arch '_' is build sucesfully. * All these *.test.* sources are built in one executable. * This executable can be run from the ARCH_RUN_POST_LINK hook. * If the hook script returns success, the process continues. * In a next step the main Arch is installed. * By your choice, the test executable can be run later from ARCH_RUN_DONE or from PROJ_RUN_DONE hook. * If another project depends on this one, and the test executable fails, the another project is not built.
Notes: * The *.test.* pattern can be modified as you wish. * It is allowed to define more than one extra Arch. In this case, a source filename pattern should match each new Arch. Your choice if that means a different architecture, a cross-platform binary flashed later on a device, or a different test suite for the same project. * The sample projects contain some examples, but tests are not enabled by default. It is your choice to use a specific test framework.
