so for a little context im a rising junior who always has been pushed to do well in school but never really went too deep into college admissions. i sort of realized i need help making a potential college list and honestly idrk how to research so many schools so maybe yall could help
major: public health but honestly im still considering a lot of career paths
GPA (as of current): 4.0 unweighted, school doesnt do weighted
SAT: 1560 single sitting (770 english 790 math)
courseload (as of what i’ve already completed and what i’m already registered fowill 100% take): 8 honors, school doesnt offer APs; 6 DE completed, will complete 5 more first semester next school year. some of the more notable ones are:
calc 1-2 (took soph year) calc 3 (will take 1st semester junior) gen chem 1 (will take 1st semester junior) physics with calc 1 (will take 1st semester junior)
and in total i will have completed 25 DE by the time i graduate
extracurriculars: 1. nearing completion of an app that promotes beach/tourism safety in my local area; im planning to publish it in the android play store within the next 2 months, and have already made agreements to implement it in multiple local businesses 2. team leader of a social/political activism cohort of 20+ undergraduate interns. i led meetings and organized weekly tasks surrounding issues like civic literacy and climate 3. co-manager of a family rental business; i maintained a rental property for the past 3 years (stepping down when school starts tho) and helped manage $90k+ in revenue annually along with inquiries, reviews, and physical maintenance 4. spent 150 hours shadowing doctors across 4 specialties. i helped carry out menial tasks like retrieving paperwork and medicines alongside just learning the “inside” of outpatient care 5. internship at a decently large mental health advocacy nonprofit; i worked together with college students nationwide to create media and develop frameworks for mental health awarneess 6. i have an officer position for math club at school. we are in a rural area so i research competitions we take part in except we’ve only done like one so far. i was one of the founding members 7. i track tropical cyclones and have my own tropical weather bulletin online. meteorological science is a big interest of mine and i collaborate with several other enthusiasts to issue personal forecasts. been doing this for like 5 years now 8. teaching myself guitar. big time sink because when i start i cant stop haha 9. weightlifting. not really much to say 10. i also spend some of my free time writing as a hobby

And they also don’t update the list of officials who are authorized to sign on the paper, and don’t keep it confidential
Instead of encouraging me to get the exam done, and processing it electronically without uttering a word, you discourage me, annoy me, call me, declare who the officials are and break the rules, do it on paper, take a long time, return the paper AND I CAN SEE THE SIGNATURE OF THE OFFICIAL LMFDSJAJAJAJAOOOO, dumb B WORDS,

From what I can gather online, my computer is just "old" and can not keep up with Photoshop, Cricut etc apps. BUT even when I'm not running those apps, my computer is slow AF. I can only open Photoshop by itself and never with the internet open as well. It crashes constantly and I have to manually turn it off and on where it sometimes just freezes till it randomly turns on again later on in the day. I have no idea what to do about it and to be quite frank, I don't have the money to buy a new computer. We are living off of one income with kids at the moment and we are getting ready to move across the country so funds are limited. Anyone have any advice on what to do? I'd have no problem buying the $18 pro clean up but it seems like there isn't anything imperative to "fix."

From what I can gather online, my computer is just "old" and can not keep up with Photoshop, Cricut etc apps. BUT even when I'm not running those apps, my computer is slow AF. I can only open Photoshop by itself and never with the internet open as well. It crashes constantly and I have to manually turn it off and on where it sometimes just freezes till it randomly turns on again later on in the day. I have no idea what to do about it and to be quite frank, I don't have the money to buy a new computer. We are living off of one income with kids at the moment and we are getting ready to move across the country so funds are limited. Anyone have any advice on what to do? I'd have no problem buying the $18 pro clean up but it seems like there isn't anything imperative to "fix."

My (38F) daughter (13F) has been playing this game called Roblox since lockdown first started as a way of playing with her friends virtually as well as curing her boredom. She was obsessed with this Roblox game that’s set in a school because she missed her friends so much and it allowed her to stay connected with them. Her interest in video games has developed into an interest into technology - she’s by far at the top of her IT class and has even started learning how to code in order to make her own game.
My sister (34F) and niece (10F) have recently had to move in with us after my sister discovered that her husband was having an affair. They’re staying at my house for the time being while she saves up money for a place of their own.
My niece and daughter usually get along, and they both bond over their interest in Roblox. Last week, my daughter was completely distraught and crying nonstop. She said that she saw her cousin playing on a Roblox game and realised her cousin’s avatar had a lot more items than usual. She decided to join her, only to realise that her account had been hacked and she’d lost nearly every item she had on her favourite Roblox game. She’d lost 800K of the in-game currency and nearly her entire inventory, which she claimed was worth over 5 million of the in-game currency. She had spent the last four years saving up for those items and everything was gone just like that.
My daughter began accusing my niece of hacking her account. My niece denied it at first, but quickly broke under pressure and admitted everything. The previous day, they had been playing the game together when I called them down to dinner. My niece has only been playing for a few months and I suppose she would be considered a ‘noob’. She begged my daughter to give her some of her items, and my daughter refused, saying that she should earn the items by herself. When my daughter came down, my niece decided to stay behind for a minute to transfer all of my daughter’s items into her account.
I tried to mediate the situation, but my sister is refusing to co-operate. She told me that it’s only a game, it’s not like my daughter spent real money on it. I attempted to explain just how much this game means to my daughter, to which my sister said that my daughter should count herself lucky that her biggest problem is a bunch of pixels on a screen. She said my daughter was a teenager now and was too old to be acting this immature over a game. My niece refuses to give my niece her stuff back and says it’s unfair that my daughter gets to have everything she wants both in real life and online. I told my sister and niece that both of them were acting like ungrateful brats considering how I was letting them stay in my home rent free.
Today, I gave her an ultimatum: if my niece doesn’t return everything she hacked from my daughter, they would both have one week to leave. I told her that I refuse to let anyone disrespect my daughter under my roof. AITA?

NTA. I am getting so tired of people telling other people that they are too old to love the things they love. Let people enjoy the things they want to and enjoy life. It doesn't matter if your daughter is too old for the game or if she didn't spend any real money on the items - what matters is that your niece stole from your daughter and your sister wants to give her no repercussions for this action. How much longer until your niece decides that it is not fair that your daughter has something else that she doesn't have and takes it from you, or that you have something that she doesn't and takes that? Theft is theft, and if your sister doesn't put a stop to it now, it can start a slippery slope, especially since that your niece has seen that she has her mother's approval.
Yes, your niece has been given a raw deal, but that is no excuse to steal, especially from someone who not only had nothing to do with why she has this bad situation, but who was sharing her home to try to help her out. Both your niece and your sister has taken your hospitality and broken your trust.

NTA. At all. There’s a reason why your daughter has everything she wants - because she works for it and earns it by being a good girl!! She probably isn’t handed things like her niece, and she probably also takes good care of her stuff, which I’m guessing the niece doesn’t - and yes that’s entirely on your sister. I am so sorry. I know it can be so so so frustrating to lose everything on a game that you spent HOURS AND HOURS that turn into YEARS of saving and collecting and leveling up for and what not. It’s not “just a game.” It is also a hobby, a coping mechanism, and you learn a lot too. It’s a way to socialize with friends who can’t go out a lot, or if you WANT TO SOCIALIZE and have too much anxiety doing so sometimes! Along with so many other great things these kinds of games can do for people. That game has helped my nephew in ways I can’t even explain. Him and his siblings are absolutely obsessed and I would never think they would do this to eachother because they realize how much time it really takes to get your character to where you want them to be at. He also has never had a great time making friends and he has actually made a ton on Roblox, one he even got to meet in real life, and now they are best friends!
It’s not just a game. And your sister can sit on it and spin. I bet she’d be pissed if someone hacked her accounts for shows and Amazon and what not. It’s honestly the same thing!

Thank you all for your advice! My sister and niece moved out last week, she’s in the process of getting an apartment and they’re temporarily staying with a friend of my sister’s for the time being. I warned her that if I contacted the developers, they would get her daughter banned, so either way my niece wasn’t keeping the stuff she stole, so she should try minimise her losses. She claimed I had no proof her daughter hacked the account and refused to compromise. She said I was petty and childish for making them “homeless” over a kid’s video game. And don’t get me wrong, I feel bad, I really do. My sister and I never really got along as kids so I was hoping at least our kids could have a good relationship with each other. But still, they were inevitably going to leave at some point so I suppose I only sped up the process.
Now that my niece is gone, my daughter seems a lot happier now. She told me she was perfectly fine, but I knew her well enough to know that she wasn’t. Some very kind and generous people here have offered to gift her some of their items to rebuild her account, to which I am extremely grateful, but my daughter said she felt bad about taking stuff from other people. I’d already reported my niece’s account, which seemed to have no effect. I’m not very tech savvy, but I considered contacting the Roblox developers to see if they could reverse the transaction. However, my daughter informed that doing so would only ban the account, losing all of my daughter’s items in the process.
I would like to extend all my thanks to the commenter that suggested I try and log in to my niece’s account. Believe it or not, it only took 5 attempts. Turns out that 10 year olds don’t have the best comprehension of Internet security. Surprisingly, getting into the account was the easy part. I spent an embarrassingly long amount of time looking up how to trade everything back - I swear I’m getting old. I couldn’t tell which items were my daughter’s and which were actually my niece’s, so I simply transferred everything my niece had just to be safe.
When she came home from school today, I told my daughter I had a fun surprise for her waiting on Roblox. Words can’t describe how proud of myself I felt when I saw the joy rush back into her face. The ironic part is that my niece had previously won this very rare halo item from this sort of lottery system, which my daughter claims is one of the most expensive items in that game. Now it was transferred to my daughter’s account, meaning that my daughter walked out of this situation richer than she was to start with. My sister just messaged me in all caps yelling at me that my niece has been through so much and I was just kicking her when she was down. She accused me of stealing from a little girl. I simply told her that, in her own words, it’s just a bunch of pixels on a screen.

AITA for threatening to kick out my niece after she hacked my daughter’s Roblox account?
My (38F) daughter (13F) has been playing this game called Roblox since lockdown first started as a way of playing with her friends virtually as well as curing her boredom. She was obsessed with this Roblox game that’s set in a school because she missed her friends so much and it allowed her to stay connected with them. Her interest in video games has developed into an interest into technology - she’s by far at the top of her IT class and has even started learning how to code in order to make her own game.
My sister (34F) and niece (10F) have recently had to move in with us after my sister discovered that her husband was having an affair. They’re staying at my house for the time being while she saves up money for a place of their own.
My niece and daughter usually get along, and they both bond over their interest in Roblox. Last week, my daughter was completely distraught and crying nonstop. She said that she saw her cousin playing on a Roblox game and realised her cousin’s avatar had a lot more items than usual. She decided to join her, only to realise that her account had been hacked and she’d lost nearly every item she had on her favourite Roblox game. She’d lost 800K of the in-game currency and nearly her entire inventory, which she claimed was worth over 5 million of the in-game currency. She had spent the last four years saving up for those items and everything was gone just like that.
My daughter began accusing my niece of hacking her account. My niece denied it at first, but quickly broke under pressure and admitted everything. The previous day, they had been playing the game together when I called them down to dinner. My niece has only been playing for a few months and I suppose she would be considered a ‘noob’. She begged my daughter to give her some of her items, and my daughter refused, saying that she should earn the items by herself. When my daughter came down, my niece decided to stay behind for a minute to transfer all of my daughter’s items into her account.
I tried to mediate the situation, but my sister is refusing to co-operate. She told me that it’s only a game, it’s not like my daughter spent real money on it. I attempted to explain just how much this game means to my daughter, to which my sister said that my daughter should count herself lucky that her biggest problem is a bunch of pixels on a screen. She said my daughter was a teenager now and was too old to be acting this immature over a game. My niece refuses to give my niece her stuff back and says it’s unfair that my daughter gets to have everything she wants both in real life and online. I told my sister and niece that both of them were acting like ungrateful brats considering how I was letting them stay in my home rent free.
Today, I gave her an ultimatum: if my niece doesn’t return everything she hacked from my daughter, they would both have one week to leave. I told her that I refuse to let anyone disrespect my daughter under my roof. AITA?

NTA. I am getting so tired of people telling other people that they are too old to love the things they love. Let people enjoy the things they want to and enjoy life. It doesn't matter if your daughter is too old for the game or if she didn't spend any real money on the items - what matters is that your niece stole from your daughter and your sister wants to give her no repercussions for this action. How much longer until your niece decides that it is not fair that your daughter has something else that she doesn't have and takes it from you, or that you have something that she doesn't and takes that? Theft is theft, and if your sister doesn't put a stop to it now, it can start a slippery slope, especially since that your niece has seen that she has her mother's approval.
Yes, your niece has been given a raw deal, but that is no excuse to steal, especially from someone who not only had nothing to do with why she has this bad situation, but who was sharing her home to try to help her out. Both your niece and your sister has taken your hospitality and broken your trust.

NTA. I am so so glad that you understand the value of time and effort your daughter has put into this collection, and the value of that to her. Compare it to stealing a collection of crafted items someone had made offline that they felt was precious to them, that they spent time and effort putting together. If your sister can't respect your daughter’s time and effort, then she can leave your home.

NTA. At all. There’s a reason why your daughter has everything she wants - because she works for it and earns it by being a good girl!! She probably isn’t handed things like her niece, and she probably also takes good care of her stuff, which I’m guessing the niece doesn’t - and yes that’s entirely on your sister. I am so sorry. I know it can be so so so frustrating to lose everything on a game that you spent HOURS AND HOURS that turn into YEARS of saving and collecting and leveling up for and what not. It’s not “just a game.” It is also a hobby, a coping mechanism, and you learn a lot too. It’s a way to socialize with friends who can’t go out a lot, or if you WANT TO SOCIALIZE and have too much anxiety doing so sometimes! Along with so many other great things these kinds of games can do for people. That game has helped my nephew in ways I can’t even explain. Him and his siblings are absolutely obsessed and I would never think they would do this to eachother because they realize how much time it really takes to get your character to where you want them to be at. He also has never had a great time making friends and he has actually made a ton on Roblox, one he even got to meet in real life, and now they are best friends!
It’s not just a game. And your sister can sit on it and spin. I bet she’d be pissed if someone hacked her accounts for shows and Amazon and what not. It’s honestly the same thing!

Thank you all for your advice! My sister and niece moved out last week, she’s in the process of getting an apartment and they’re temporarily staying with a friend of my sister’s for the time being. I warned her that if I contacted the developers, they would get her daughter banned, so either way my niece wasn’t keeping the stuff she stole, so she should try minimise her losses. She claimed I had no proof her daughter hacked the account and refused to compromise. She said I was petty and childish for making them “homeless” over a kid’s video game. And don’t get me wrong, I feel bad, I really do. My sister and I never really got along as kids so I was hoping at least our kids could have a good relationship with each other. But still, they were inevitably going to leave at some point so I suppose I only sped up the process.
Now that my niece is gone, my daughter seems a lot happier now. She told me she was perfectly fine, but I knew her well enough to know that she wasn’t. Some very kind and generous people here have offered to gift her some of their items to rebuild her account, to which I am extremely grateful, but my daughter said she felt bad about taking stuff from other people. I’d already reported my niece’s account, which seemed to have no effect. I’m not very tech savvy, but I considered contacting the Roblox developers to see if they could reverse the transaction. However, my daughter informed that doing so would only ban the account, losing all of my daughter’s items in the process.
I would like to extend all my thanks to the commenter that suggested I try and log in to my niece’s account. Believe it or not, it only took 5 attempts. Turns out that 10 year olds don’t have the best comprehension of Internet security. Surprisingly, getting into the account was the easy part. I spent an embarrassingly long amount of time looking up how to trade everything back - I swear I’m getting old. I couldn’t tell which items were my daughter’s and which were actually my niece’s, so I simply transferred everything my niece had just to be safe.
When she came home from school today, I told my daughter I had a fun surprise for her waiting on Roblox. Words can’t describe how proud of myself I felt when I saw the joy rush back into her face. The ironic part is that my niece had previously won this very rare halo item from this sort of lottery system, which my daughter claims is one of the most expensive items in that game. Now it was transferred to my daughter’s account, meaning that my daughter walked out of this situation richer than she was to start with. My sister just messaged me in all caps yelling at me that my niece has been through so much and I was just kicking her when she was down. She accused me of stealing from a little girl. I simply told her that, in her own words, it’s just a bunch of pixels on a screen.

To be fair that wasn't really the problem here. It's not like her cousin hacked into her account and stole all her stuff...she left her account unlocked around her cousin because she didn't think that this would happen.

Hi! Bit of a long story but I'll condense as much as possible. I appreciate any and all input!
I have lived in an apartment complex in MA for 3 1/2 years. I have had a roommate, we'll call him E, the entire time. He has been useless in all things apartment related from the very beginning. He didn't contribute to the search, I had to front the deposits, He brought 0 furniture or household items with him other than three cast iron skillets. He hasn't cleaned, provided any form of shared goods (toilet paper, salt/pepper, cleaning supplies etc). He was not actually on our lease, as he had no credit history at the time of signing. His stepdad co-signed for him and E was listed as an occupant rather than a leasee. We almost lost the apartment because he does everything last minute and didn't get his step-dad to sign until the day before it was due. He has done this every single time we have resigned since then. (Pointing out that I can't afford to live on my own so I stayed with him as he is evil that I know as opposed to someone random who could have been worse lol)
When our lease renewal came around in SeptembeOctober 2023, I told him I would not be resigning a full years with him as my partner had the potential of moving and I would like to go with her. Skipping all of the unnecessary details, his step dad and I resigned a 6 month lease that ended on 5/31/24. Since resigning that lease, he has been to the apartment probably 4 times total, he hasn't stayed a single night. In March, we received our next renewal for another 6 months and I told him that I would not be resigning with him, and that my partner was going to be moving in since he wasn't actually even living here. He gave me a half believable story about staying with his parents since he works so far away (our apartment is 10-15 additional minutes). Since then, he has given me the silent treatment. I've asked him three times if we could discuss how we are going to split the items that we bought together. I sent him, and his stepdad, an itemized list of everything with current prices (or receipts from when we bought it in 2020 for the ones I could find) as a fourth try. Not a single response. Everything that I have sent to E has been texted as well as emailed and his step dad has been CC'ed. Important note, this entire time his step dad also hasn't said anything to me, but he did sign an addendum removing himself and E.
While all of this was going on, our complex emailed us (E, his stepdad, and I) saying that we were behind on rent. I verified with her that I have been paying my half. She sent me receipts showing that E hasn't paid his rent since March. It also shows that the entire time we have lived together, E has been chronically late on payments and has had multiple payments come back insufficient. Mildly infuriating, but not the current problem. I spoke with our complex about the situation and they have sent follow up emails. They reassured me that since I am not leaving, our shared account is not closing. The amount owed on his side can sit on the account until I leave, then it will go to collections and affect both his step dad and I.
It is now 6/2 and he has made 0 effort to come get his belongings, even though his lease ended two days ago so he no longer has a right to the apartment. The current active lease has myself and my partner on it, beginning on 6/1. My complex told me that in order to change our locks (since he still has keys), that I would need to go to the police and file for a "No Trespass Order". Yesterday, I went to our local police department to ask for a no trespass and what my rights are in regards to his items, as we are on a limited timeframe to get my partner moved in before she her current lease ends. I also wanted to ask about how we should handle his deposit, as my original message to E and his step dad stated that my partner would pay him directly for his half of the deposit one his belongings were removed.
The officer told me that since I don't own the property, I actually can't apply for a no trespass and that the complex will have to do it. He said the need to send E a letter stating they are filing against him, via certified mail. Then E must sign it and send it back so that can take it to the police department?? He won't even respond to a text, no way in hell he will sign a paper like that and mail it back. The officer told me that since his lease is up, his items are considered abandoned and that I can do with them what I want. I texted him (as well as emailed him and his step dad) yesterday and told he his has between 8-5pm today to come get his items or I will be removing them. I also told him that since his items are not removed, and he is still behind on rent, that he will not be receiving his deposit back and my partner will pay it directly to the complex to go toward his past due amount owed. Unsurprisingly, I received no response. It is now almost 10:00 am, he is not here. I am planning on selling his items (he has some good stuff) to pay for his rent.

- Under Massachusetts tenant law, isn't my complex supposed to change our locks when requested? All I can find online is that landlords are required by law if their tenant is being stalked, abused, ect.

Na wstępie chciałabym powiedzieć, że jestem 15-letnią osóbką, która od praktycznie dzieciństwa miała niespokojną relację ze swoją płcią. Urodziłam się jako chłopak (AMAB), w małej miejscowości we wschodniej polsce (dokładniej 12-18 tys. mieszkańców). Lata dzieciństwa już sprawiały mi wiele problemów związanych z moją płcią, dyskomfort z zaimkami, odrzuceniem, ciałem, garderobą, itd. Sumaryzując, czuję się kobietą.
