So I've been moving and I stored some old pampered chef pans in my oven and it completely cleared my mind and I turned on self cleaning on the oven. The handles are dead and there's rubber in the pans from other stuff. What recommendations do you guys have for some new pots? I don't have much money to spare for super expensive ones but some advice would be very appreciated.

I am 31 y/o, and have been a chef for 10 years; I started from the potwash in a nice pub in my hometown in Italy, and worked my way up to sous chef level in a michelin star restaurant in London. I have seen it all, from the psycho pointing a knife at you, to the 50 y/o owner picking up an underage waitress. I have worked stadiums, 5 star hotels, dive bars, fast foods, and I even worked as a personal chef for a wealthy family in Mayfair. I hate my job, and I have been hating cooking long before it became my job. It was a forced choice, since there were no jobs in my town in Italy, other than MLM crap. I have tried to change career, but first it was changing nation and having to secure some money; then it was covid; then I became a father, and shortly after my wife changed job and needed the support to make that change. Now it is my chance, now I have a few months of mortgage paid, a few months of nursery paid, but I'm losing all hope. I have passed 4 or 5 assessments for a company, and now I have the final interview on Saturday. Could I actually make it? Will I finally close my knife roll for good, maybe opening it in 20 years time for a laugh? My heart races at the thought of abandoning the industry, I think I might cry if I would be given the chance of changing. I have to maintain my facade with people in my life, so I have to bother you...Good thing this group exist I guess. Hopefully I didn't bore you too much, Have a nice day!

Story time. Back when I was in college (not that long ago) maybe around 2019, I was going to this small college. Sometimes I felt like I didn’t belong at times because I wasn’t exactly that schools “type”. Anyways, I had a few close friends and did alright. But still felt kinda lonely at times.
I worked the front desk at our college’s library, it was a small group of girls and I really enjoyed it. Of the group, I felt like the black sheep, because again, I never felt like I truly fit in, but that could just be my anxiety and overthinking too. I digress.
One day, one of the girls who I worked with asked me if I wanted to come over to her place and do face masks and have a girls night with her and her roomies, and that I should bring a few friends too. I was so excited! I was always such a shy person and had trouble putting myself out there to make friends. So when someone offered to have me over for a girls night, I was ecstatic. I thought about it the whole day and was pumped to have a good time for once and make new friends. She said to invite friends, so I obviously invited my 2 closest friends at the time. We get ready at my house and then head over to my coworkers. We knock, she opens the door and we come in. The lights are all dim and her roommates are just sitting around doing homework and they give us a weird look. The vibes were definitely off and not what I was expecting, but whatever.
My coworker invited us upstairs to “do face masks” in the bathroom. So we go. We’re standing in her bathroom and she goes to the other room and comes back with FUCKING MARY KAY PAMPHLETS AND PRODUCTS! My heart SANK. So she starts having us put on these face masks and products while she’s trying to sell us on all this shit. She’s just giving us all of the normal gimmicks, “oh you can make so much money, you can reach financial independence” “all of these products are sooo good for your skin” “it helps me pay for my tuition” etc. We were all taken aback and weirded out. As soon as we could wash off those face masks we were out the door. On the way out, the group of roommates just gave us a wave and smirk.
I was so fucking embarrassed. I couldn’t believe I fell for that shit. But at the same time it’s understandable, because all she said was that we’d have a girls night and face masks. I had no idea she was involved with Mary Kay. There were no prior warning signs. It still made me feel like an absolute idiot, that for one, I got dragged into a Mary Kay scam, not only that, but I involved my friends which is highly embarrassing. And two, the worst of all, this girl didn’t actually want to be my friend. She just saw me as a victim to sink her claws into as a potential way to make money. I remember that feeling so deeply. I couldn’t believe someone could be that cruel and toy with someone like that. I mean I was straight up lied to. I was meant to feel like a loser. I really thought someone wanted to be my friend. And I was sorely mistaken. Fuck MLMs forever and fuck that girl in particular.
ETA- I thought of this story because my aunt reached out to me asking me to take part in her Pampered Chef party and to invite friends. Yeah no thanks. I love her but I refuse to take part in that. She does Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, and Thirty One.

At the elimination ceremony, Chris goes through his usual speech before announcing that in a shocking twist, today’s vote is completely unanimous. He calls everybody but Axel to get a marshmallow, and Dawn asks her why she voted herself. Axel explains that she and Shawn thought that if she voted herself, the vote would come down to a tie so that Chris would decide who goes home instead of her.
Axel then bids farewell to her friends before walking down the dock of shame. After she leaves on the boat of losers, Chris hands Sammy a vhs tape telling her that it’ll give some closure and maybe cause some drama, giving her the instructions: “You’ll know who this should go to.” This leaves Sammy confused as Chris turns to the camera for his outro.
Chris: Will Max ever have a change of heart? How much longer can Zoey withstand the torture that is Heather? And what secrets does the vhs tape hold? Find out next time, on Total Drama Island!

Brunch Of Disgustingness
The episode opens with the Killer Bass returning to their cabin after the elimination ceremony. Sammy asks what the vhs tape is for, but no one knows. Damien tells her that it has to be important considering Chris himself gave it to her, but he doesn’t know where they could even find a vhs player. Dawn’s more confused about what Chris meant by “You’ll know who this should go to.” and asks why he wouldn’t just give it to whoever needs it. Sammy breaks out into a yawn, so Trent suggests that they all get some sleep and worry about it in the morning, so the four of them say goodbye before going to their separate parts of the cabin.
In the morning, Chris summons the campers to the mess hall, and Owen complains when breakfast isn’t waiting for them. Chris reassures Owen that there’ll be plenty of food soon, before he and Chef mischievously laugh. After regaining his composure, Chris congratulates the contestants on being the last ten remaining in the game, and that next week the teams will become one. Chris announces that with this, the guys and girls will each have one cabin to themselves, and that today’s challenge will be a battle of the sexes. He then says that the campers will have some time to settle down before everyone gets a bite to eat, but he and Chef start laughing again.
Trent and Damien welcome the Gopher guys with open arms and they start bonding over immature jokes. Meanwhile, the girls aren’t as friendly, as Heather shoots angry glares at Dawn and Sammy behind their backs, much to the embarrassment of Zoey.
Confessional:
Zoey: You’d think Heather could at least go five minutes without starting something, but nope! Already she’s lined up Dawn and Sammy like they’re set for execution!
Chris announces that he has good news: No one will be eliminated this week, and instead the challenge is only for a reward. The contestants cheer, and Chris decides to let everyone move their belongings to their new accommodations.
As everyone heads to the cabins, Heather complements Sammy’s hair to get on her good side. Sammy thanks Heather for the compliment, but Dawn is all but impressed.
In the Gopher cabin, Owen hugs Katie goodbye, and insists Max join them. However, Max says that evil doesn’t do hugs. Owen forces Max into a bear hug anyway, much to his dismay. Katie then asks him if he’s feeling okay, and Max questions why she would be asking that.
After packing up his stuff, Shawn heads to the Bass cabin, but is stopped by Heather along the way.
Heather: Look, just because we’re not on the same team anymore doesn’t mean you’re done working for me.
Shawn: Our deal was that I’d work with you. I’m still not part of your alliance.
Heather: With, for, all in the same if you want me to protect you.
Dawn and Sammy arrive in what is now the girls cabin, and Heather continues to sweet-talk Sammy. Dawn asks Zoey how two-faced Heather is, and Zoey rates her a seven. Out of five. Katie comments on how they’re probably getting along way better than the guys, and we cut to them partying over music and pop. Owen lets out a burp, so Shawn responds with an even bigger one, causing one of the doors to shake off its hinges, and even knocking over some trees in the distance. The guys are blown away, and Trent suggests they make Shawn captain. They all agree and cheer Shawn on for a speech.
The contestants return to the mess hall where Chris announces the challenge. He is interrupted by Max asking if they finally made breakfast, causing him and Chef to laugh yet again. Heather is annoyed and asks them why they keep laughing, so Chris tells the campers that the challenge is called The Brunch Of Disgustingness. Everyone will be served a nine course meal, and everyone on each team must finish the dish to get a point, and of course, most points at the end wins. However, everything being served is to be extremely gross. Chris explains that the winning team will get to spend two days at a five-star resort being pampered to their liking, while the losers are stuck at Camp Wawanakwa with Chef.
The guys and girls are presented with the first course: meatballs. Literally. As Owen chows down on his plate, Chef explains that these are beef testicles, causing Owen to frantically spit the food out onto Damien. The girls are also grossed out, but the boys can’t muster up the courage to eat something so personal, so they begin to fall behind. Eventually it’s down to Dawn, who refuses to eat meat, and the rest of the guys, who eventually give up on the inhumane act. Heather tries to pressure Dawn into eating the testicles but Dawn won’t budge. Chris says that while neither team completed the meal, the females performed better, so he gives them a point. He then tells the teams that from now on, the entire team must finish the food to get a point, with no exceptions.
Confessional:
Heather: Dawn’s “morals” might cause us to lose the challenge. I can’t let that tree hugger keep me away from a pedicure.
Chris reveals the next meal to be pizza, which gets the guys excited. However, it just so happens to be that the toppings are live grasshoppers, jellyfish, and live anchovies. Zoey is worried about how dangerous eating jellyfish sounds, but Chris insists that the ones Chef put on the pizzas are completely harmless, causing Chef to look suspiciously nervous all of a sudden. Owen easily gulps down his slice, and reaches for a second, but Shawn stops him, explaining that everyone needs to have a slice. Katie takes a bite of the pizza, and ends up freaking out when she realises she bit a grasshopper’s head off.
Confessional:
Trent: When I was a kid, my parents used to hold me down and force feed me broccoli. They only did it because broccoli is… (Gags) Good for you.
Trent is the last member of the boys to eat the pizza, so he tells Shawn to pin him down while Damien feeds him the pizza, and to not stop no matter how much he panics and fights. Shawn and Damien exchange glances before agreeing, and we see Shawn holding down Trent as he explains that it was just a joke. Damien ends up feeding Trent the pizza slice, winning the guys their first point.
Confessional:
Trent: It wasn’t that bad. I was playing it up for the cameras, you know, to boost ratings. I don’t really mind beef testicles or live grasshopper pizza with jellyfi- (Throws up)
Next up, earthworms covered in snail slime and hairballs. And although the girls put up a good fight, the guys use blindfolds and clothespins to help them believe they’re eating spaghetti. Somehow, it works, scoring them another point.
Chris says that no multi-course meal is complete without soup, so he reveals the next dish to be french bunion soup with hangnail crackers. Sammy decides that if the boys can use blindfolds, the girls can use some tricks of their own. She grabs some funnels from Chef’s kitchen and uses them to down the soup without tasting it. The funnels outspeed even Owen’s appetite, so the girls tie it up.
We then go through a montage of the last five courses. Giant balls of pre-chewed gum, point to guys. Skunk stink smoothies, point to girls. Sandals with caulk icing, point to guys. Garbage can soup, point to girls.
Eventually the campers make it to the final round, and since the score is tied four to four, Chris reminds them that whoever wins this round gets the reward. The campers wait to see what horrible concoction they must eat next, but Chef brings out what looks like normal hot dogs. Chris announces that it’s actually dolphin wieners, but the news doesn’t seem to make much of a difference. However, Dawn is quite upset, saying that eating animals is horrible enough, but dolphins cross the line. Similarly, Damien refuses to eat the hot dog because he finds dolphins super cute and can’t stand to eat one.
Confessional:
Chef: I slave over a hot stove cooking dolphin, no appreciation.
Seeing as neither team gets a point to break the tie, Chris decides that they’ll go to an eat-off. He asks the team who they think has the strongest stomach out of them, and after some consideration, the girls pick Zoey while the boys pick Owen without a second thought. Chris says that whoever can drink more glasses of blended cockroach wins the reward for their team. The two start downing the disgusting drink, and are horrified at its taste. When there’s only three shot glasses left, something gets stuck in Zoey’s throat, giving Owen the opportunity to drink the rest, winning the challenge.
Zoey then pukes up the drinks, and finds what she was choking on. Being a completely intact cockroach. This display causes some of the other campers to hurl as well, which in turn ends up being a chain reaction of people emptying their bowels. Even Chris and Chef start gagging as they wait for everyone to recover.
Chris narrates the aftermath of the challenge, with the guys getting on a yacht while the girls are left behind. And as Chris does his outro, the cameras zoom in on one specific object: The vhs tape.

No Pain, No Game
The episode opens with Dawn and Sammy discussing strategy on the beach. Dawn tells Sammy that she can’t trust Heather, but she’s unconvinced. She explains how Heather’s been treating her nicely, and doesn’t listen when Dawn tries to tell her that Heather’s just getting on her good side in order to use her.
A yacht pulls up to the dock, and the guys are dropped off. They’re bragging to each other about how pampered they were, and end up inadvertently making the girls annoyed with them for showing off. Owen brings a tray of chocolates for Katie, but Heather slaps it out of his hands and into the water.
The contestants then hear Chris announce over the loudspeakers that they have finally reached the merge, and that it is every camper for themselves. He then says that he has a little surprise for them as they hear a horn off in the distance. Another, smaller yacht has appeared, carrying Duncan and Chase. Chris explains that they are back by popular demand, and will be returning to the game. Heather asks how they were ever favorites with the audience, and Chris admits that they aren’t, but he and the producers liked them. Shawn reminds Chris of how he always said that no one could ever return to the island, so Chris tells Shawn that he lied.
The yacht stops at the dock, and while Chase seems pretty happy to be back on the show, Duncan is not. He notices that Axel isn’t there and makes fun of her for being eliminated right after him. Shawn defends Axel and insults Duncan back, causing them to almost get into a fight. However Chase breaks the two up and tells them to save the fighting for the next challenge.
Confessional:
Shawn: I can’t believe Duncan insulted Axel like that! She’s such a great person- I mean such a great survivalist. I’m gonna make him pay for that.
Chase: Apparently, when Emma told everyone on national television that I cut her brakes, I lost hundreds of subscribers! So now that I’m back on this show, I’m going to pull pranks and do the most outrageous stunts! I’m sure Chris will thank me once this show's ratings go up.
Chris tells the campers to meet him at the outdoor amphitheater for the challenge, which Owen is excited for. He attempts to give Max a high five, but Max reminds Owen about how Chris said it’s everyone for themselves. On their way to the amphitheater, Damien asks Dawn to fill him in on what happened while he was away.
Dawn: Heather’s been acting nice to Sammy, but she’s just trying to manipulate her.
Damien: Aren’t you and Sammy friends? I’m sure she’d understand if you told her.
Dawn: I tried, but I guess that meeting Trent made her more trusting of other people, because she at least wants to give Heather a chance.
Damien: Great. With no more teams, there’s nothing stopping Heather from sabotaging everyone’s game. It'd be a nice change of pace if she turned out to be a good person.
Dawn: I highly doubt it. I can sense in her aura that her anger stems back to her childhood.
Damien: I always forget that you can do that soul reading thing. It still creeps me out.
At the amphitheater, Chris has set up some makeshift gameshow rafters out of household furniture. He says that today’s challenge will be a twist on the classic game of Say Uncle. Contestants will be put through tests of endurance, aptly named tortures. If they chicken out or fail to last ten seconds, they will be eliminated. The last camper remaining will be rewarded with immunity and a decked out trailer to take home after the show.
Chris picks Max to go first and spins the Wheel Of Misfortune to decide his torture. The wheel lands on turtle puck shots, so Max has to stand unprotected in a hockey net while Chef pelts him with very angry snapping turtles. Max dodges some turtles but gets distracted when he stops to laugh at one that's stuck in the net. Chef then hits a direct shot, causing him to let out a pained yelp. More turtles hit Max, and the final one nails him right in the kiwis, but he stays in the goal so he gets to move onto the next round.
Zoey gets marshmallow waxing, so she has to endure being waxed by molten marshmallows. Once the marshmallows go on, Zoey starts screaming, but she’s muffled from under the molten mask. She lasts the ten seconds, so Chef takes the marshmallows off to reveal that the wax had actually worked. And as a bonus, Zoey gets to move on.
Chris tells Zoey that since she did so well, she gets to choose who goes next. However, he says that if whoever she picks survives the ten seconds, she goes out instead. Zoey thinks for a bit, and Heather starts whispering something in her ear. After Heather finishes, Zoey sighs and chooses Dawn.
Confessional:
Zoey: Apparently Dawn is catching on to what Heather’s trying to do with Sammy, so she wants to keep Dawn from winning immunity. I didn’t like the idea but Heather’s threatening to kick me out of the alliance after I didn’t break up Owen and Katie, so I have no choice.
Dawn gets lake leeches, so she has to survive in a barrel of leeches for ten seconds. Damien steps up and asks Chris if he can do the torture instead of Dawn. Chris tells him that he can, but if he fails, both he and Dawn will be out. Damien gets in and it’s clear the leeches aren’t sitting well with him. Eventually he can’t take it anymore and jumps out of the barrel covered in leeches. As he tries to get the leeches off him, Chris says that he had just missed the ten second mark, so he and Dawn are out.
It’s montage time and we get to see each contestant’s torture. Shawn wears wooden shorts while a woodpecker chips at it, success. Duncan gets his nose hairs plucked, success. Trent gets constricted by a snake, failure. Chase wears a shirt of bees, success. Heather has to jump over some skunks, failure. Sammy listens to some new age music, success. Katie must get a haircut from Chef with a chainsaw, failure. Owen goes to town on ice cream and has to survive a brain freeze, failure.
This leaves Duncan, Zoey, Max, Sammy, Shawn, and Chase for round two.
First up is Shawn, who gets electric eel defibrillation. Chef grabs some electric eels and shocks Shawn with it. To everyone’s surprise, not only does Shawn last the ten seconds, but he also seems completely unharmed.
Confessional:
Shawn: When you’re setting up a live electric fence for the zombie apocalypse, you’re going to electrocute yourself. A lot. Thankfully it means that now I’m practically invincible to being shocked!
Seeing as Shawn was unfazed by his torture, Chris lets him choose the next person to go. Shawn chooses Duncan, who gives him an angry glare.
Duncan gets the bigfoot storage container, in which he must spend ten seconds in a crate with the fabled Sasquatchanakwa. The crate in question is shaking violently and there is growling coming from inside. Duncan shoots another look at Shawn before going in. We hear fighting and Duncan insulting Sasquatchanakwa, before he kicks down the crate’s door while dragging Sasquatchanakwa behind him in a headlock. Chris congratulates Duncan on not only surviving, but somehow beating Sasquatchanakwa in a fight. However, he tells Duncan that since he left the crate of his own accord before the ten seconds was up, he is still eliminated. Duncan is furious by this technicality and swears to Shawn that he’ll get back at him, but Shawn just explains that that’s what happens when he insults Axel.
Chase gets jellyfish scuba diving, so he has to swim in an aquarium tank while dodging a box jellyfish. Some of the contestants gasp at how dangerous the torture is, but Chase eagerly agrees to do it. While in the tank, he swims around the jellyfish and taunts it. The box jellyfish stings him, but he makes it the ten seconds. Chris asks Chase if he needs to go to the infirmary, but he refuses, despite clearly being in pain.
Chris lets Chase choose the next victim, and he chooses by closing his eyes and picking randomly. He lands on Sammy, and asks Chris if he can choose the dare. Chris lets him pick from the Wheel Of Misfortune, and Chase explains that he’s looking for the best, most unbelievable dare. He picks the poison ivy spa treatment, and is disappointed when Sammy chooses to be eliminated instead.
The last two to go this round are Max and Zoey, and both fail at alligator wrestling and literal waterboarding respectively. (The latter of which Chris says he’s doing behind the producer’s back.) This means that Chase and Shawn are the last two remaining, and Chase isn’t looking too good. Damien asks Chase if he’s doing okay and he explains that other than the fact that he can’t feel his spine, he’s great. After hearing that statement, Chris lets Shawn go first.
Shawn gets the grizzly bear log roll, so Chris brings him and the rest of the campers out to the lake where the torture will take place. Chris explains that Shawn must log roll against Molotov the Bear, who happens to be the European log rolling champion for the past twelve years. Plus, Shawn and Molotov will be log rolling over piranha infested waters. Shawn has a stare off with Molotov before he steps onto the log, and the two start going. Shawn has trouble keeping up with Molotov, but soon gets the hang of it. He jumps on the log, and upon landing gets it to stop rolling. This causes Molotov to fall in the water, meaning Shawn moves on.
It’s Chase’ turn, and the jellyfish sting is definitely kicking in. He passes out, so Chris has Chef send him to the infirmary to get treated for the sting. He then announces that Shawn wins immunity and the trailer. As for everyone else, Chris tells them to get ready to vote between themselves.
Later, Dawn thanks Damien for taking the leech challenge instead of her, even if he failed. Damien asks her if she made any progress on getting to Sammy, and her answer disappoints him. He then realizes that Trent would probably have a better time convincing Sammy and that they should tell him what’s happening.
Max, Owen, and Katie are chatting and Max tells them that while he appreciates their help, he’s going to work alone from now on. He thanks them for being his friends and says that he has more evil inventions to tend to. After he leaves, Katie tells Owen that going alone is probably going to go bad for Max in one way or another, and that she’ll miss him.
Duncan finds Heather near the mess hall and tells her that as much as he hates to admit it, he needs allies, and that she’s his best bet. She finds his desperation to be convincing enough and tells him he can join her, but that he must be useful to be worth her protection.
Confessional:
Duncan: With Shawn having immunity, it wouldn’t take much for him to get votes against me. I hate the idea of working for Heather, but it’s not like I have much choice.
Vote off someone other than Shawn, nominate someone for immunity, and come up with any plot points you want to see later.

Previously, on Hell’s Kitchen…
The final eight participated in the annual blind taste test, and while some shined under pressure, others struggled. Thanks to Melody’s strong palate, though, the blue team managed to win the tiebreaker round, earning them a culinary tour of LA, where the chefs put their taste buds to good use in sampling the best food that the city of angels had to offer. Meanwhile, the red team was left behind and forced to not only clean the dining room, but prep both kitchens for a special charity night service.
That night, each team served a five course meal to a 12 top table seated by members of a charity organization, and for the first time, each chef was given the opportunity to lead their own course. Thomas delivered a strong performance, but for most of the chefs, it was an up and down affair. In the post-mortem, Ramsay declared both teams losers and had them nominate the one chef they felt was holding the team back. The blue team faced a tough choice between their problem child and their worst performing chef, but in the end, they chose…
Lauren: “Carole, chef.”

Faye: “Ramona.”
Ramsay decided to hear from Grace anyway, but in the end, Carole’s downward spiral after a strong start was just too much to overlook, and she was the next to lose her jacket, and her dream of becoming the head chef of Gordon Ramsay Steak in Vancouver, British Columbia. And now, the continuation of Hell’s Kitchen…
With just seven chefs remaining, Ramsay told the teams to get some sleep and wake up tomorrow ready to bounce back and redeem themselves, because very soon, the competition would be raised to a new level, where only the best of the best would thrive.
Back in the dorms, Lauren said in her confessional that with only three chefs remaining in the blue team, every mistake would be scrutinized heavily, and with Grace as one of her remaining teammates, it would make winning the next service even more difficult. Melody was glad to be in the final seven, as she celebrated with Lauren and said in her confessional that she absolutely could not wait to get a black jacket, but was also very nervous about what Ramsay’s next test for them might be. Melody asked Grace how she was feeling only to get a noncommittal answer, as Grace said in her confessional that she was in a very difficult position with Lauren and Melody, given they would never vote for each other, so she would simply have to carry the blue team to victory in service to avoid being put up for elimination.
On the red team’s side of the dorm, Thomas was feeling great about his leadership during charity night, as he said in his confessional that Ramsay called it the best-run course of the night, and that showed that he truly did have what it took to become the winner of Hell’s Kitchen. He was concerned, though, about Ramona, and he told the team that everyone needed to buckle down now and start standing out as individuals as well as teammates, noting Ramona’s struggles as a leader earlier during service. Ramona defended herself and said that she had grown into the leadership role as the night went on, and absolutely felt like she deserved to be here. Faye said in her confessional that right now, this was anybody’s game, and by this point, her experience last season meant nothing, as everyone would have to fight every step of the way from now on. Michael was still upset with himself over his performance in service, as he knew he could have finished the course better, and assured his team that he was ready to bounce back tomorrow.
The chefs continued to talk amongst themselves a while longer before finally attempting to get some sleep.
Challenge
The next day, the final seven were woken up early and brought downstairs, with many of them wondering what was going on, and Michael saying in his confessional that it had to have something to do with their next challenge. Sure enough, Ramsay was waiting for them, along with three guests that the chefs instantly recognized: Season 1 winner Michael Wray, Season 10 winner and red team sous chef Christina Wilson, and Season 23 winner Ken Morimoto. Ramsay reminded the chefs that when they first got here, they had met these three chefs at the front door of Hell’s Kitchen as untested novices. Now, only the best seven were left standing, and for the next challenge, he wanted to show the past winners just how far they had come. Melody was in awe, saying in her confessional that it was a huge honor to have three former winners judge this challenge, though also very nerve wracking, as nobody wanted to screw it up.
With that out of the way, Ramsay announced that today’s challenge would be all about presentation, because it was in fact, the Presentation Challenge. Ramsay went on, announcing that this was an individual challenge, and the winning dish would be featured on the Epicurious website. That was why…he needed some more help to decide the winner, as the door opened, revealing longtime editor Tanya Steel, who joined the rest of the panel. Ramsay had one more incentive to add, announcing that the winner of this challenge would also earn their black jacket immediately, and be safe from elimination in the next service. As he said this, seven framed black jackets lit up behind him, one for each of the chefs. Grace said in her confessional that the black jacket was as good as hers, while Faye said in her confessional that getting a black jacket after the way she went home last time would be a dream come true. With the stakes clearly defined, Ramsay told the chefs they had 45 minutes to come up with one stunning dish, and their time started now…
The chefs scrambled into their respective kitchens, trying to come up with an idea that would blow the judges away. Melody was feeling good about her chances, as she said in her confessional that presentation had always been a strength of hers, and this challenge seemed to be tailor made for her to get a black jacket. Meanwhile, Lauren was nervous in her confessional, as she knew Melody would be tough to beat, but she was determined to put everything into showing Ramsay and the past champions just what she was capable of. Grace was confident as well, as she said in her confessional that with no one to rely on but herself, this should be an easy win, as she was already picturing herself in black. In the red kitchen, Thomas said in his confessional that the only thing that could stop him at this point was himself, as he continued to cook with total confidence. Faye was eager to prove that she could plate dishes with finesse, saying in her confessional that this was a huge opportunity to impress Ramsay. Ramona was nervous, as she knew this might be her last and best chance to earn a black jacket, especially if the red team lost service, as she would be the easiest target for nomination. Michael said in his confessional that he had to prove that last night was a fluke, and he had the skill needed to go all the way to the end. Ramsay called out the final seconds and the chefs plated their dishes before bringing them to the pass as time expired.
Ramsay told the chefs that now that the cooking was complete, it was time for the panel to judge their dishes. First, they would rate the dishes on presentation, and only the top two would advance to the second round, where the dishes would be rated on their taste. First up was Michael, who said in his confessional that going first always puts you at a disadvantage, but he was feeling hopeful about his dish, which he revealed to be crab ravioli over lemongrass. To start, the panel seemed impressed overall with the simple, yet clean presentation, with Michael Wray giving him some lighthearted encouragement by saying he was rooting for him as a fellow Michael. Ramsay then announced it was time for their scores, Michael Wray gave it a nine, Christina gave it an eight, Ken gave it an eight, Steel gave it a seven, and Ramsay gave it an eight, for a total score of 40/50. Next was Grace, who presented her turbot over celeriac puree, as she expressed confidence in her confessional that the judges would love her dish. The panel ended up criticizing the presentation though, with Ken saying the puree looked runny, and Ramsay agreed that it didn’t look very appetizing. In the end. Michael gave it a 6, Christina gave it a 5, Ken gave it a 6, Steel gave it a 5, and Ramsay said he was disappointed and gave it a 4, for a total score of 26/50, much to Grace’s frustration in her confessional.
With Michael still leading, Melody was the next to go, presenting her venison loin with butternut squash and truffle. The judges were pleased with the presentation, with Christina saying it had a warm, comforting vibe. The judges were ready with their scores: which were all nines except for Christina, who felt it deserved a 10, for a total score of 46/50, which put her in the lead. Melody was stoked in her confessional to have gotten such a strong score, saying she could practically feel the black jacket on her shoulders. Meanwhile, Thomas was the next to step up, with his prosciutto-wrapped monkfish over carrot puree, and the judges seemed to agree that it looked excellent, though Steel questioned whether it truly had the wow factor to be featured on Epicurious. In the end though, Michael gave it a 8, Christina gave it a 9, Ken gave it an 8, Steel gave it an 8, and Ramsay gave it a 9, for a total score of 42/50, just edging out Michael for second place. Thomas kicked himself in his confessional for not getting first, but was confident his dish would hold up against the opposition. Next, Faye presented her pan-seared duck breast with grapefruit sauce, which got mixed reviews from the panel, as Ken liked the idea, while Michael felt like it could have used some more finesse. The panel was ready to give their scores, with Michael giving it a 7, Christina giving it a 7, Ken giving it an 8, Steel giving it a 6, and Ramsay giving it a 7, for a total score of 35/50. Faye was disappointed in her confessional, saying she would just have to do better in service to earn a black jacket.
With just two chefs remaining, Ramona was next, with her pork belly with apple puree. The panel gave her decent reviews, as Christina said there were a lot of things to like here, and Ramsay said it was a nice use of color contrast. Steel said it seemed like her vision for the dish was a bit muddled though, which Ken agreed with, but everyone seemed to agree that it was a creative attempt. Once they had finished with their critiques, Michael gave the dish an 8, Christina gave it an 8, Ken gave it a 7, Steel gave it a 7, and Ramsay gave it an 8, for a total score of 38/50, still leaving her short of the top 2 places. Ramona said in her confessional that she had let herself down, and with just a bit more finesse, she could have overtaken the others. With only Lauren left, Ramsay called her forward, and she presented her lamb lollipops with balsamic reduction. The judges praised the presentation as being elegant without being overdone, with Michael saying he could easily imagine this being served in any fine dining restaurant. With that, the judges were ready to give their scores: Michael gave it a 10, Christina gave it an 8, Ken gave it an 8, Steel gave it a 9, and Ramsay gave it a 9, for a score of 44/50, putting her in second place, and sending her and Melody to the final round. Lauren was excited in her confessional, as she said it was an honor to get such high praise from fellow chefs.
With only the top two dishes remaining to compete for the first black jacket, Ramsay told Melody to bring her dish forward, and after reiterating that both dishes had an amazing presentation, it was now time for the taste portion of the challenge. Melody said in her confessional that she had to get this black jacket, and as much as she loved Lauren, she would have to take her down here. Lauren said in her confessional that she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way, and couldn’t wait for this matchup. After tasting both dishes, the panelists agreed they were both delicious, and Steel admitted that this was a very tough decision, but finally, Ramsay said they needed to reveal their scores, starting with Melody’s dish. Michael gave it an 8, Christina gave it a 9, Ken gave it a 9, Steel gave it an 8, and Ramsay gave it a 9, for a total of 43/50. Next, they scored Lauren’s dish, with Ramsay asking Steel to save her score for last, since the dish was going on the Epicurious website. Michael gave it a 9, Christina gave it a 9, Ken gave it a 10, Ramsay gave it a 9, and, needing a 7 to win…Steel gave it a 10, for an incredible score of 47/50. Ramsay congratulated Lauren, as did Melody, who hugged her and said she deserved it before going back in line, while Ramsay said they both did a great job, then had Lauren to step forward and take the first black jacket of season 24.
Reward / Punishment
Lauren was overjoyed to get her black jacket, saying it took a huge weight off her shoulders, and brought her one step closer to winning it all. Melody was somewhat disappointed in her confessional, but was glad she lost to Lauren, if it had to be anyone. Ramsay hugged Lauren and told her that she had been an outstanding competitor all season, and this moment was the culmination of that. With the challenge over, Ramsay thanked the panelists for helping him judge this challenge, and told them to hang around, as Lauren was going to get a makeover, then have her picture taken, along with her dish, for Epicurious, followed by a dinner at Michael Cimarusti’s Providence restaurant in LA, along with three special guests: the former winners who had just judged the challenge. While Lauren went to get changed for the photo shoot, Ramsay turned to the other six chefs and told them that their punishment would be a long and tiring one, as the dorms needed a nice spring cleaning now that there were just 7 chefs remaining of the original 20. Thomas was disappointed to have come up just short in the challenge, as he said in his confessional that it would have been a dream to enjoy a private dinner with such talented chefs. Grace was pissed off about having to clean up after her fellow chefs, and said in her confessional that this was the worst punishment yet.
Lauren came back downstairs and the remaining chefs went to the dorms to begin their punishment, while makeup artists worked on Lauren, as she said in her confessional that she had never been this pampered in her life, and it felt absolutely surreal to have everyone’s attention on her. Once she was finished, Ramsay commented that she looked absolutely stunning. The photo shoot went off without a hitch from there, with Lauren taking several photos with Tanya Steel and posing alongside her dish. With the photo shoot done, Ramsay told Lauren that it was time for dinner, and her personal limo was waiting. As Lauren left Hell’s Kitchen, she said in her confessional that this day just kept getting better and better, and she had never felt more confident in herself as the individual phase approached, but she knew she couldn’t afford to let her guard down now. Later, she arrived at Providence, where she was greeted by Chef Cimarusti, who congratulated her on winning the challenge and seated with Michael, Christina and Ken. The group had an enjoyable and elegant dinner, with Lauren saying in her confessional that she hoped to be able to serve food anywhere near this good when she hopefully became the executive chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak. Christina told her she had to stay confident and vocal, while Michael told her to never let her guard down at any time, and Ken advised her to keep her composure and not allow mistakes to overwhelm her. Having gotten plenty of good advice from the former champions, Lauren returned to Hell’s Kitchen as motivated as ever.
Meanwhile, the six losing chefs were forced to share a punishment for the first time, although it didn’t take long for Grace to slack off, while Ramona constantly complained of being tired, leaving the other four chefs to do most of the work. Thomas in particular was pissed off, as it wasn’t enough that they were lagging behind in the kitchen, but now in punishments as well. Melody was also upset, though in her case, it was with the cleanliness of her fellow chefs, as she said in her confessional that it wouldn’t hurt for these chefs to use a trash can every once in a while. Faye and Michael shared her disgust, and Michael said in his confessional that this punishment absolutely sucked, and he was determined to never lose again, while Faye and Melody tried to keep things lighthearted in spite of the many unpleasant discoveries under the beds. Later, Thomas ended up cleaning the toilets, since no one else wanted to, which only frustrated him further. By the time they had finally finished cleaning, it was late in the night, and Lauren arrived shortly afterwards. With the final 7 always exhausted after a long day, they didn’t stay up much later, and all tried to get some much needed sleep ahead of tomorrow.
Pre-Service
The next day, the chefs came downstairs and were greeted by Ramsay, who started off by noting that Lauren looked great in her black jacket, and he told her to wear it during service and show him why she had earned it before anyone else. As for the remaining six chefs, he said, they would each have an opportunity to earn their jackets in tonight’s service. Furthermore, to make things easier for them, he was going to allow the teams to choose their own stations, so there would be no excuses for a bad service. With that, he had both teams get started on prep.
In the blue kitchen, prep was a tense affair, as Melody and Grace knew that if the blue team lost, they would both be standing before Ramsay, with one of them going home. As the chefs discussed what stations they would take, Melody volunteered to run apps, which surprised Lauren, as she had almost gone home on that station twice before, but Melody said she had a good feeling about tonight. Meanwhile, Grace wanted to run the meat station, but Lauren said she should be on meat, while Grace was annoyed, but still said she could handle the fish station easily. Grace said in her confessional that she could kill it from any station, and they were about to see that tonight. As they got going on prep, Lauren was still riding the high of getting her black jacket, and tried to encourage Melody by saying she was sure to get hers next, with Melody matching her excitement and saying they were going all the way to the final two. Melody said in her confessional that Lauren being safe just gave her more motivation to prove that she deserved to advance alongside her, and she would do whatever it took to make that a reality tonight.
Meanwhile, in the red kitchen, Thomas said he wanted to run the meat station, and got little argument from the team, with Faye saying in her confessional that if it motivated him to do well, she was all for it. Michael said he wanted to run apps, which the team agreed with, and that left Faye and Ramona to decide between garnish and fish. Faye volunteered to run garnish, as she felt she could be vocal from there, which left Ramona on fish. As they began prep, Thomas and Michael were feeling hopeful about getting their black jackets soon, and they exchanged some words of encouragement with each other, with Thomas saying in his confessional that the challenge was already in the rearview mirror for him as he was solely focused on delivering a perfect service and leading the red team to another win. Faye admitted in her confessional that the nerves were definitely creeping up, but she was determined to push through it. Ramona was focused on getting her black jacket and said in her confessional that there could not be any fuck ups tonight.
With dinner service approaching, Ramsay called both teams to the center of the kitchen and asked them if they had come to a decision on what stations they would be running, starting with the red team. Thomas announced that he would be on meat, Ramona said she would be on fish, Michael said he was on appetizers, and Faye said she was on garnish. For the blue team, Ramsay asked who was running appetizers, to which Melody replied that she was. Ramsay was surprised, as were the red team, considering what had happened the last two times she was on this station, but she said she was ready to redeem herself. Melody also put herself on garnish, while Lauren would be on meat and Grace would be on fish. Ramsay told the chefs that since they were on stations they had chosen, he was expecting their best night yet. With the stations now assigned, Ramsay reminded the chefs that they were cooking for their black jackets tonight, and that he wanted to see each of them shine as both teammates and individuals, and with that, he told Marino to open Hell’s Kitchen.
Dinner Service
For the final time this season as red vs blue, the doors of Hell’s Kitchen opened, as dozens of Hollywood elites and celebrities poured in to get a look at the seven best chefs remaining in the competition. Soon, orders began to make their way back to both kitchens.
In the blue kitchen, it was up to Melody and Grace to get the blue team off to a great start on appetizers, but in her confessional, Melody said she was simply determined to take things one step at a time and not allow herself to get overwhelmed as she had in the past. Her first table of risotto and capellini got praise from Ramsay for being cooked nicely, which seemed to only increase her confidence. Meanwhile, Grace managed to get her first table of scallops accepted as well. As the night went on, Melody continued to perform well on her section, serving beautifully cooked appetizers to grateful blue diners, with Lauren saying in her confessional that she was proud of Melody for stepping up on apps and giving them a chance to win. Unfortunately for the blue team, it was Grace who became a problem on the fish station, as she was inconsistent and served up raw scallops not once, but twice, and also dragged on orders. With food dying at the pass, Ramsay became pissed, saying nothing was coming out, and told them that it shouldn’t be this painful at this point, while Melody said in her confessional that it was like all the momentum had gone out of the kitchen, and it was clear that Grace was their weak link. Grace also didn’t respond at first when asked for a time and had to be prompted by Ramsay to wake the fuck up. Finally, though, the blue team managed to fight through their struggles and, thanks to Melody continuing her strong night and driving the tickets vocally, were able to continue sending out appetizers at a steady pace, as Ramsay now wanted them to fire entrees and appetizers at the same time.
In the red kitchen, Michael and Ramona were leading the way on appetizers and fish, and Michael was focused on redemption for his poor performance last time, as he said in his confessional that it was time to get locked in and earn that black jacket. Early on, he was able to serve up the first table of risotto and capellini without any issues, but the ticket was held up by Ramona serving undercooked scallops. She recovered though, as she said in her confessional that she was cooking for her life in Hell’s Kitchen and couldn’t let anything keep her down. With Michael and Ramona now on the same page, the two managed to find a decent groove as they were able to communicate well with each other and push out appetizers at a decent pace. Michael did have a small stumble when he served a beautifully cooked risotto but was schooled by Ramsay for over-portioning and wasting perfectly good food, while both of them were called out by Ramsay for dragging on orders at one point, with Ramona saying in her confessional that the pressure was seriously on right now. Thanks to Michael’s strong vocal leadership, though, they managed to get their act together. and their appetizers were seen being enjoyed by diners, as Ramsay had them fire entrees while they were still wrapping up.
With the blue kitchen now ready to take on entrees in addition to appetizers. Melody took on an additional responsibility on garnish, and looked to continue her strong communication with Lauren on meat. Together, they had no problems getting their first table of Wellingtons and New York Strip to the pass, but again, Grace slowed the kitchen down by serving raw salmon. While she did recover quickly, she also served overcooked scallops that Ramsay described as rubber bullets, as he directly asked her if she wanted to go home right now. Lauren said in her confessional that she and Melody could have run this kitchen alone better than having Grace here, as she was single-handedly sinking the service. Despite Grace’s issues, Melody continued to push out the rest of her appetizers and remained vocal on garnish, while Lauren drove entree tickets and called out times in good fashion. Communication continued to be an issue overall though, as Grace called out inconsistent times, which led to Melody getting confused on how long she needed for her garnish and falling behind, while Lauren served undercooked Wellingtons due to Grace suddenly saying she was walking without warning, Ramsay demanded to know why the blue team weren’t talking with each other and said it was pathetic at this stage. The blue team did push through it and eventually was able to get started on desserts.
In the red kitchen, it was up to Thomas on meat to step up and drive tickets along with Faye on garnish, while Michael continued to wrap up appetizers with Ramona. Thomas was able to serve beautifully cooked Wellington and New York Strip for the first table, along with Ramona’s halibut, and the red kitchen seemed to be off to a great start. Meanwhile, Michael served up beautiful risotto and capellini, as he said in his confessional that he was gunning for that black jacket and nothing was getting in his way. Ramona did get mixed up at one point, as she had to ask what was going, and admitted in her confessional that keeping track of both entrees and appetizers at the same time was very intimidating. She was able to get it together though, thanks to Thomas’ vocal leadership getting her back on track. Faye had some issues on garnish as well, though, as she got mixed up on times and served soupy mashed potatoes, but she recovered and was able to communicate well with her team and remain vocal on her station, saying in her confessional that she hadn’t come this far to throw it all away now. With Ramona also getting it together and serving acceptable appetizers and entrees, food finally started to leave the kitchen consistently, although Ramsay was still annoyed that they were dragging on entrees, with Thomas saying in his confessional that they were all having to go at Ramona’s pace so she wouldn’t make any mistakes. Finally, though, the red team did manage to get to the finish line, as they served their last entrees and got started on desserts.
Both kitchens wrapped up service and Ramsay still appeared frustrated as he told them to clear down.
Post-Mortem
Ramsay had the teams line up and reminded them that today was supposed to be a showcase of the top seven, the chefs putting their best foot forward and making a case for why they deserved a black jacket. While there had been strong performances tonight though, both teams as a whole looked disorganized and lost at times, and they were still plagued by issues that should have been resolved weeks ago. That was why tonight, he announced, there was no winning team. Instead, Ramsay instructed both the blue and red team to go back upstairs and think long and hard about the one person they felt did not deserve a black jacket.
Back in the dorms, on the red team’s side,Thomas started deliberations off by saying that Ramona was slowing the team down and simply couldn’t keep up at this point, which Michael said he had to agree with, as she seemed to get confused on tickets, especially when running both apps and entrees simultaneously. Ramona wasn’t ready to go out without a fight though, as she said that she had only served one order of undercooked scallops, and otherwise had a good service, while pointing out that Faye also dragged on orders and had some mistakes. Thomas did admit in his confessional that Faye had slowly been trending downward lately, especially considering she was supposed to be the most experienced one on the team. Faye was upset that Ramona was considering her, though she said in her confessional that she understood given the nature of the competition. She defended herself though, saying she felt that she had more to offer as a head chef at this point, and Michael said it was ultimately a question of which of these two they trusted more.
On the blue team’s side of the dorm, the decision seemed to be a simple one, as Lauren and Melody agreed quickly that Grace should go up, as she had single-handedly cost them a win tonight, with Lauren saying in her confessional that it was finally time for Grace to get the hell out of here. Grace quickly defended herself though, as she blamed the entire team for the communication issues, and claimed that most of her food that was sent back was due to the team’s collective failings rather than her as an individual. Melody shut her down though, saying that she and Lauren could have won this service if it was just the two of them, and said in her confessional that it was incredibly frustrating to work with someone who refused to ever take accountability for their mistakes. Lauren asked Grace straight up if she really felt like she deserved a black jacket after tonight, to which Grace responded that she had strong leadership on charity night, and never got any credit for it, so she absolutely deserved to stay.
Elimination Ceremony
The final seven entered the dining room and lined up before Ramsay, who said that was not the final team service he had been hoping for, as both teams clearly still had weak links that needed to be removed before he could be confident that he assembled the best possible black jacket team. With that, he called on Melody and asked for the blue team’s nominee and why. Melody announced that the blue team had nominated Grace, for her inconstancy throughout the season, and especially tonight, as she sank service virtually by herself. Ramsay called on Michael next and asked for the red team’s nominee and why. While Ramona and Faye both looked on nervously, Michael announced that the red team had decided to nominate…Ramona, due being the weakest overall on the team, and the team feeling she wasn’t ready to take the next step as a leader.
Ramsay accepted the nominations, but first, he called on Thomas to step forward, and handed him his black jacket, telling him he had been one of the most consistent chefs overall, and that despite his large ego, he had the talent to back it up. In his confessional, Thomas said this was a moment he had been anticipating since day one, as he never had any doubt that he would be standing amongst the elite of the competition. Next, Faye was called forward, as Ramsay hugged her and said she had been a fighter throughout the entire competition and never let her mistakes or the pressure of being a returning chef keep her down, and that was why she deserved a black jacket. Faye was absolutely thrilled in her confessional, as this was what she had come back for, and now she was one step closer to completing her comeback. Next, Ramsay called on Michael, telling him that he had a good heart and a strong will, and urging him to keep that up in the individual phase, as he handed him his black jacket. Finally, Ramsay called on Melody, saying it had been an absolute pleasure to watch her grow throughout this competition, and on top of that, she had taken a risky move by putting herself on apps, and it paid off. With that, he hugged her and handed her a black jacket. Now that five black jackets had been handed out, Ramsay told Ramona and Grace to step forward.
Deliberation music
Ramsay started with Grace, asking her why she deserved a black jacket.
Grace: “I’ve had to deal with a lot of shit from my team, chef, from people who thought they were better than me, but I’m still here, and they’re not. I believe there’s a reason for that. I deserve a black jacket because I’ve worked my ass harder than anyone here. I know I have the passion and talent to run Gordon Ramsay Steak.”
Ramsay turned to Ramona next, asking her why she deserved a black jacket.
Ramona: “Chef, my team thinks I’m the weakest, but I feel like I had a good service tonight. I’ve shown you my potential in challenges, and services. I think I should get a black jacket because I’ve shown you a lot more than Grace has in the kitchen, and I have a lot more room to grow.”
Ramsay said that right now, he faced a very difficult choice…
Ramsay: “I could give one of you a black jacket, or I could send both of you home. Honestly, at this point, I’m not sure.”
While the tension in the room built and everyone looked on, though, Ramsay finally seemed ready to make his thoughts known.
Ramsay: “My decision is…”
Ramsay: “Grace, please take off your jacket. I’m sorry, but I just cannot go any further.”
Elimination music
As Grace took off her jacket, Melody and Lauren appeared visibly relieved.
Ramsay: “You never back down in the kitchen, and I respect that. Unfortunately, you absolutely screwed service tonight, and the excuses only get you so far. Thank you for trying out.”
Grace thanked Ramsay half-heartedly and walked out the door without looking back as she exited Hell’s Kitchen.
Grace’s Comment
“Am I surprised? No, not really. Those bitches Lauren and Melody had it out for me, they wouldn’t let up until I was gone. I know I have the talent to be a strong leader, they knew that too and saw me as a threat. Chef, I’m your biggest fan, but you made the wrong call this time. Ramona should definitely be walking out this door. But the good news is, this won’t be the last you hear of me, stay tuned, America.”
With Grace now gone, Ramsay turned back to Ramona, and reminded her that he could just as easily make this a double elimination and roll with five black jackets. But with all that said…
Ramsay: “I’ve made up my mind. Ramona, get up here, young lady.”
Dramatic music
Ramsay: “I never know which version of you I’m going to get. The Ramona who served me a five for her signature dish? The Ramona who won the immunity pass? Or the Ramona who gets lost and overwhelmed? You are young, and you do have potential, but I don’t know how long I can wait. That’s why…I’m giving you one last chance.”
As he said this, he handed her a black jacket, to which Ramona responded by breaking down in tears and hugging Ramsay, as she promised not to let him down. With all six black jackets now given out, Ramsay told the remaining chefs that from this moment on, the red and blue teams were no more, and they would all be competing as a single black jacket team. With that said, although they would be evaluated as individuals, he still expected each of them to work together as a team, and to deliver much better services than tonight. With that, he told the black jackets that tonight, they should celebrate how far they had come, and said he had a little surprise waiting for them in the black jacket lounge.
As the chefs left the dining room and celebrated wildly in the hallway at getting their black jackets, each of them had a confessional. Michael said that this black jacket vindicated all of his hard work, and now it was time to celebrate and get ready to kick ass again tomorrow. Faye said that she had been waiting a year for another chance to open that door, and there were now just five people in her way. Ramona was still feeling emotional after surviving a close call, and said she was determined to make the most of this final chance. Thomas said that this was the part of the competition where he thrived, and he hoped the other chefs were ready to go down. Lauren said she felt like this competition was hers to lose, and now she just had to go and take it. Melody said that after an exhilarating day, she just wanted to take a night to celebrate with Lauren and her fellow chefs, as she was closer than she could’ve ever imagined to realizing her dream.

They also ask for input from broadcast partners on TV windows and team/matchup requests. In attempts to maximize viewership and interest, hitting the ABC or CBS weekend afternoon window is crucial.
A computer-based program is used to track all of the data, including the required number of games against an opponent on the road and at home, and provides checks and balances to the manual job of scheduling.
