Hi guys, I’m considering between Polene Beri and Marc Jacob Duffle Bag. Which one has better quality and design, from your opinion?

I would like to have a thread where we discuss discount finds in rack stores like Marshalls, Ross, TJ Maxx, Burlington, as well as any others with steep discounts. I've spent hours looking through every single bottle in my local discounters and the employees know me on sight. My neurodivergent brain craves the thrill of the hunt and loves using my pattern recognition skills and seeing others posting their finds gives me even more serotonin.

I grabbed a set of second-hand hand carders at MD S&W for cheap. I’ve read / watched the tutorials and had a short class in August on how to use hand carders … but I’m still running into issues.
I have some Mystery Wool (a grab bag of what I’m sure is Jacob’s and what might be Merino, it’s incredible fine/thin/crimpy) that I washed and have picked open so that it fluffs up a bit. I’m trying not to overload the carders, but when I card and then flip to the other side, one edge of my fluff ends up looking very weird and matted, and I get these little pills in the fiber.
When I have gotten it acceptably combed and off the carder to spin, the yarn feels dense, greasy, but also brittle. It spins fine but it’s not fun.
I took some of my commercially prepped fiber to see if I maybe had washed the wool incorrectly, but I get many of the same results with my commercial BFL, with the little pills and the denseness.
Any tips or ideas?

I usually only like gourmand fragrances, rather warm like choco musk or sweeter “candylike” ones. I don’t really know what I like besides that and I don’t really like “perfumey” scents if that makes sense. A couple days ago I was at the airport, and samples lots of perfumes. The ones I can remember liking the most was Marc Jacob’s daisy wild. Very good girl by Carolina Herrere. And Sol de janiero 71. I didn’t like 40 and found the 59 average. I also tried Victoria Secret. I loved Bombshell Seduction but didn’t like the original. It was also surprising as I thought it was sweet and it’s actually a floral scent, I never usually like. I also liked the coconut milk and rose body spray.
How would you describe my taste ? Or can you recommend more ?

I know I keep saying it, but I think this story will only have a few chapters left. I guess I wasn't expecting this part to take up an entire chapter? At any rate. Upvotes and comments help me to know you're still interested in the story.

The next morning Erin’s and Leo’s families came over to help the kids pack up and decide where the kids would be staying. Leo’s parents knew that Jacob was fairly new to Erin’s life and didn’t want to take her away from him and the rest of her family she had also only recently come to know. They all knew that they would see very little of both Erin and Leo for the next two months, but this was about after. Jacob knew that she would eventually move to the pack, but hoped to still get to see her frequently.
To start this journey, Leo would come home with Erin. Jacob had already spoke with Jeremiah and he had agreed to be their guardian and chauffer while Erin collected New Moon wolves. As a Necromancer, he would be able to help guard against any issues with the dead as well as monitor Erin’s health as she took on more contracts than any Necromancer would ever choose to. He knew that this could be very hard on her and may have to take on contracts himself to ease her burden.
Leo packed a duffle bag of clean clothes and after giving his own parents a big hug, headed off with the Blackwells. At the house, Jeremiah was already there and going over the list of pack lands and mapping out their route. He had a box in front of him with maps from every state as well as maps for Canada, Mexico, and the countries of Central America. The family had also gone to various AAA offices and got more detailed maps of every region they could get their hands on. They avoided getting full trip-tix from AAA, as they didn’t want to put directions to a pack on anyone’s radar. Many of the maps and directions had come from Alpha Matthews who had gotten them from other Alphas.
Jeremiah went over the route so far and explained that they would be getting more locations as they went as they encountered Alphas with the contacts they needed. Having an Alpha make the call would speed along everything and make it so that they could actually complete this geis. He warned them both that they would need to rest on the road, and sometimes Erin would need to drive so he could rest too. Jacob had supplied Jeremiah with a credit card so that between him and Erin, they would be able to get anything they needed while on the road, whether that was clothes, food, gas or anything else they might encounter that they need.
“Make sure you go to bed early, because we will have a very early morning. We’re going to try and hit two pack lands tomorrow night. They both know to expect us. We will be hitting other states and leaving Virginia for last. It’s good to see you healed, Erin.” Jeremiah said. Leo and Erin both agreed and headed to the kitchen for lunch.
The next morning, they were up at 5am, ate quickly and headed out to Jeremiah’s car which was a hearse from his dad’s funeral parlor. They packed up the back, adding an air mattress to the back so that they could take turns sleeping as they traveled.

They had traveled through many states, covering most of the lower 48 and Erin was weighed down with the contracts of over 300 wraiths. Jeremiah was worried about her. She moved very slowly now and slept most of the time. He had spoken with Leo during the day and they both agreed that he needed to talk to Featherwind to transfer contracts before it was too late. Erin was already barely eating due to the lack of energy. He was pacing as he waited for full dark to arrive as they waited near one of the abandoned pack lands not far from Muncie, Indiana. Jerimiah stopped pacing as Featherwind appeared and looked around to get his bearings.
“This Geis is killing her. She can barely move now, and doesn’t even have space on her skin for another contract.”
“I know. I can see it too. I had hoped…..” He paused, “I thought that because the contracts were small that we would all fit.”
“We need to start transferring the contracts to me. At least half, and then we can both take on the rest of the contracts.”
“I agree. We have also been talking about it amongst ourselves and we were unsure if we could ask this of you.” Featherwind said.
“You knew I would be needed. Why else except for this?”
“I was expecting more for driving and advice, or even help should we find extremely strong soul eaters.”
Leo carried Erin out to sit on the ground across from Jeremiah. He sat behind her to be used as back support. Jeremiah took her hands and all of her contracts grew bright to Jeremiah’s grim-sight. This is the sight used by Necromancers to be able to see the dead and all manner of death markings which include contracts. To his eyes, every inch of her skin was covered in glowing writing. They were in all different languages, some were pictograms. Each wraith using the language they had spoken most in life.
The wraiths all appeared around them, and Featherwind explained that Jeremiah had agreed to taking on some of their contracts. Many were apprehensive about contracting with someone not marked as friend of the pack, but one by one, around 175 wraiths walked over to Jeremiah, and touched him on the shoulders. As they did, their contract with Erin travelled down her arms and up his as the contract transferred.
When the last one transferred, Erin woke up. “I feel so strange. Like I was sick for a long time and am getting better.” She put a hand to her head.
“We transferred half of your contracts. Having so many was draining you. That’s why you’ve been so tired lately. From now on, we’ll share the contracts.” Erin nodded her agreement, so he continued, “Leo sent one of his totems to scout the abandoned pack and we have bad news. Leo?”
“Yes. I sent Crow and she tells me that Spiral Dancers have taken over the settlement. What is worse is that they have enslaved the dead there. Jeremiah sent his familiar, a fruit bat, with Crow. He could see the chained dead, Crow could not. I didn’t even know mages could have familiars. Until now.”
“Not all mages find their familiars that were with them in their mage paths here in the living world. You also have to learn Spirit Arcane well enough to communicate with them. That’s even harder to do for a Necromancer. I awakened pretty young, so I’ve had a lot of lessons with Uncle Jacob.” He turned to Erin. “I’ve noticed a crow that follows you. Only has one eye.”
“I saw him when I left the crypt. He followed me a lot and sometimes even warned me when wolves and other creatures came to attack me.” At Leo’s confused look, she explained, “The mage paths take place on a plane close to the fey realms so things can happen that wouldn’t happen here in the waking world.”
“At any rate, where is your spirit arcane at? Have you even been able to sense them yet?”
“No. I’ve tried. Even Leo tried to explain Spirit from the Werewolf perspective and it just hasn’t worked.” She replied.
“It’s ok. We’ll talk about it more after this. We’re parked as close as we can get without triggering their scouts. Let’s get suited up and head out. Fucking Spiral Dancers.”
“We didn’t bring anything.” Leo protested.
“And that’s why I’m the one that planned everything.” Jeremiah laughed. “Your parents dropped off the sword Erin made you. I’m surprised you made that so quickly, cuz. It’s badass. I fixed some of the enchantments on it and then I turned it into steel so it won’t snap. I kept the woodgrain on the metal along with the coloring. They also brought over some Werewolf spelled garments y’all use when you have to fight Spiral Dancers or vampires. It belongs to your dad, but looks like it should fit you.”
“Really?” Leo was surprised and touched that Jeremiah would have thought to look over his cousin’s work and improve it, and to also talk with his parents and think ahead to protection. The armor is meant to be worn when you’re in your wolfman form and helps to bridge your human and wolfman minds so you aren’t so dumb while in your strongest form. These garments are rare and passed on from parent to child. This garment was extremely old. The making of these garments are extremely hard to do and wolves strong enough to handle the magic aren’t around anymore…. probably because you also need strong New Moon wolves in order to make them. This Geis became even more needed. “I knew my dad had one, but I’d never seen it. I’ve never even seen one of these worn. Supposedly I’ll be able to use my wolfman form and have most of my human intelligence.” He removed his shirt, lowered his pants a little, took off his shoes, and then put the giant regalia tunic on.
Jeremiah put on his own spelled garments. They were normal clothing but had permanent spells places on them so that he wouldn’t be weighed down with traditional armor. He pulled out a set he had made for Erin and had her put them on. He then pulled out his guns with their spelled bullets and pulled out a spelled sword for Erin. “You haven’t trained since you’ve healed, so that’s a last resort. You know how fast they are. Your job is to stay safe and let me, Leo, and the dead handle this. There will be a lot of them, so use your matter and death arcanes to slow them down. Do not engage with one physically.”
“I understand.” She replied as she took the sword and belted it on.
“I will stay with her and keep her safe.” Featherwind promised. Jeremiah nodded and began casting a time spell over himself and Erin so they could keep up with the Spiral Dancers. This spell was far stronger than Katie had cast. He also cast another spell using forces and prime to add extra shielding over them both. Last, he sliced an opening into the shadowlands and once they entered, closed it behind them.
“Wait. I need to see what kind of mind I’m going to have as a wolfman.” Leo said. They waited and turned away from him while he shifted. When the sounds of his shifted finished, they turned their heads back towards him to see him looking around with some intelligence instead of how he would usually look without the spelled garment. He looked down at Erin and Jeremiah and said, “Feels good. Clear.” His voice was still rough and it didn’t seem like he could do longer sentences, but he would be able to think for himself during the fight. “Come. I carry. Faster.” He gestured to them to come to him.
“You sure?” Jeremiah asked worried about the weight.
Erin laughed as she eagerly went over to him. “I’ve seen him lift a huge boulder in this form like it was nothing. Come on.” Leo got in place to lift her, waiting for Jeremiah to get closer too. He finally agreed and Leo lifted them both up like picking up dolls. They both balanced themselves against Leo as he began to sprint towards the Spiral Dancer encampment.
Jeremiah and Leo had spoken about where they would come in while they had been waiting for full dark, so Leo knew where to stop and let them down. Erin gave him an extra squeeze before letting him go. He smiled and gave her a quick nuzzle before turning to Jeremiah to wait for him to open the way to the waking world.
Jeremiah gave everyone a quick look to make sure they were ready before opening the way, leaving last, and closing it behind them. While the dead, Jeremiah, and Leo attacked, Featherwind guided Erin to the enslaved dead. They looked wizened in comparison to the dead she was used to seeing. She could see some kind of chain anchoring each of them to what she guessed was their graves. They were unable to move and due to appearing so weak, were kneeling, sitting, or laying on the ground. The chain looked like it wasn’t made from anything physical, so guessed it was Spiral Dancer magic.
Featherwind studied a chain, and Erin could tell he was using his gifts to look into potential futures to see how the chains could be broken. “I have it.” He announced. This area was void of any of the battle, so they could concentrate on the dead. Featherwind and Erin were able to combine their abilities to safely break the chain of one of the enslaved dead.
He shook his head like he was waking up and within moments, his ‘flesh’ seemed to fill back out. “Save them. I will help to protect. They will be coming for you soon. Hurry.” The man urged as he took on a defensive position. Featherwind and Erin hurried to the next wraith and they were able to free another 5 before Spiral Dancers began to enter the burial grounds. The dead were still weakened and so few, so they were not as effective against the Spiral Dancer shaman coming to rechain them and take out infiltrators.
One thing Erin had been working on since taking on Featherwind’s contract was combat magic. He had urged her to become as strong as she could because he wasn’t sure when she would have to fight, but was certain she would have to before their contract completed.
Erin straightened and took a few steps toward the enemy and looked around, feeling with her matter arcane what was around her in the ground that wasn’t close to the dead. She didn’t want to damage any of their remaining bones. There was a lot of large stones close to the surface, so she latched onto them with her arcane and threw them at the enemy in a wave of rock and boulders. In the split moment they were distracted, she pulled lighting up from the ground, striking one of them. Her death arcane felt the struck one dying, so she latched onto his life energy and ripped it from his body so that she could replenish her own magic.
In the distance she could hear the gunfire from Jeremiah and the various roars coming from both the Spiral Dancers and Leo, and she could feel the effects of Jeremiah’s magic. Next, she grabbed ahold of the clothing, hair, and even the ornaments the enemy were wearing and used her matter arcane to change the weight of all that she could get ahold of. The enemy suddenly fell to the ground, dying from being crushed by the weight they now carried. She ripped out their dying life forces and distributed the energy to the dead she was still contracted with.
As the last one died, the chains around the remaining enslaved dead broke. Excited to be able to attack their enemies, they spread out and joined the fight. Featherwind nodded to Erin. “I think your cousin doesn’t know your strength. Let’s go and join the fight.”
“I’ve only seen him once before. He’s allowed to not know what I can do. Besides, Uncle Jacob would have made him responsible for my safety.” She replied as she ran towards the fighting. She slowed down as she neared the fight, peaking around the corner of a building. It was like watching a kicked over ant mound. Jeremiah and Leo were roughly back-to-back while the wraiths ranged all over. Leo was fighting with claws, fangs, and sword, while Jeremiah was casting spells with one hand and firing a gun with the other. Each time a bullet struck an enemy, there was a strange chain-lighting like effect as several others were hit due to the spelled bullets.
Erin began to cast her own spells, similar to the ones cast in the burial grounds; causing extreme weight, calling lightning, and creating whirlwinds of dust to blind the enemy. As the Spiral Dancers died, Jeremiah or Erin would reap the life energy of the dying to fuel their own spellwork as well as dispersing that energy to the dead they were contracted with.
It felt like hours, but the Spiral Dancers finally broke and fled. The dead followed them to continue to attack them throughout the night. Leo, Jeremiah, and Erin sagged to the ground where they had stood in exhaustion.
They had each taken small cuts, but a werewolf in their wolfman form heals very quickly, and Jeremiah’s shielding spell had held out well. Erin moved over to the men after a few minutes and Leo gathered her in his arms.
“We got worried about you when you headed off by yourself. Where did you go?” Leo asked.
“Featherwind took me to the burial grounds to free the dead. They were being used as an energy source of some kind, I think.” She looked around at all the bodies. “What do we do with them?”
“What about their wraiths? Will they show up too?” Leo asked.
“It’s possible. I know Erin and I both were using their deaths to fuel our own ability to continue casting spells. That will make their wraiths take longer to come back to their bodies. If we burn the bodies, it will destroy at least one of their anchors.” Jeremiah made it back to his feet. “Come on. Let’s get back to the car and get to a phone. I can call the nearest Alpha and see if they can send out some help.”

On Wednesday, July 14th, 1982, the bodies of three people were discovered floating in the C-51 Canal, eight miles west of U.S. Route 441 on the private property of New Hope Sugar in Belle glade, in Palm Beach County, Florida. The bodies found were of a woman and two men who had been murdered. Investigators have put forth the notion that the murders are drug-related, and that the three were murdered somewhere else before their bodies were dumped.
Jane Doe
The unidentified woman was found wrapped in layers of clothes, bed sheets, and plastic. These wrappings were held together with a clothesline, fishing line and cord from a window. A pair of loose handcuffs were located near her body. Her body was already in an advanced state of decomposition when she was found. She had been shot twice in the back of the head.
The woman was between 18 and 25 years old. She was white and/or hispanic. Her height was between 5ft and 5ft 2in tall. Her teeth were of poor quality, with signs of decay. She was found wearing a scarf, and a light colored t-shirt with an image of a camel with a pyramid and palm trees in a desert background. Also in her possession was a pair of prescription glasses.
John Doe A
This man, one of two unidentified men found with the unidentified woman, was wrapped “mummy-style” in multiple layers of clothes, bed sheets and plastic, as well as being tied to a blue and gold inflatable life raft. A trash bag was covering the man's head. These wrappings were held together by a clothesline, fishing lines and cords from a window. He was handcuffed and had been shot in the back.
The man was between 45 and 55 years old. He was white and/or hispanic. His height was between 5ft 5in and 5ft 7in. His weight was between 140 lbs and 160 lbs. He had black hair, a thick Fu Man Chu style mustache and long mutton chop sideburns. He had extensive dental work done on his teeth. The man had multiple tattoos, including the initials “ZDM” in a diamond shape on his left shoulder, a tattoo of a snake with a woman's head on his left shoulder and the words “Asi Eres Tu” (meaning “That’s what you are”) above the head.
The man was wearing Plain Pocket blue jeans (size 32) with a wide black leather belt. Around his neck, he wore a gold chain with two metal cat charms attached, one yellow and one black. On his left ring finger, he wore a gold ring with a pink stone surrounded by white stones. On his left wrist, he wore a silver National Semiconductor Chronograph brand wrist watch. Also in his possession was an Aquarius medallion keyring with four keys on it.
John Doe B
This man, the other of the two unidentified men, was wrapped in a dark blue quilted bed comforter with a black trash bag covering his head and feet. He had fishing line and rope tied around him. Masking tape was used to cover his mouth and eyes. He had been handcuffed, and the word “STOP” was printed across the handcuff’s keyhole.
The man was between 20 and 45 years old. He was white and/or hispanic. His height was between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall. His weight was 150 lbs to 190 lbs. He had brown hair and a mustache. His teeth had a slight overbite, with signs of several restorations. He wore Marc Phillipe designer brand blue jeans (size 33), gym shorts (size 36-38) and Fruit of the Loom underwear (size 34-36).
