2024.05.11 03:42 mining_moron Alien Languages are Alien Road to Hope

As was (maybe) previously stated, Kyanah don't have distinct languages with specific labels, yet this does not mean that they all share a common language. The vernacular tends to differ slightly from city-state to city-state; in the next city-state over, there might only be a few small spelling and pronunciation changes or some differences in handling obscure grammatical edge cases, but as one goes further and further away, the differences quickly accumulate. In most regions of the world, it's possible to understand the language up to a few hundred kilometers away from one's home city-state without dedicated study, but there's no hard-and-fast boundary where one language "ends" and another "begins". For this reason, linguistic aptitude is not a function of how many languages a particular Kyanah knows, but how large of an area they can make themselves understood in. Many of the specific vocabulary and grammatical structures used in Ikun are understood by educated Kyanah in other parts of the world, and tend to be used in settings where packs from many different regions of the world, with few or no linguistic features in common, must communicate, such as science or diplomacy. Due to Ikun's soft power and large-scale internet footprint, this is especially common in Net Zone 1; most but not all online content from this region is at least somewhat understandable to Kyanah from Ikun.
Notably, Kyanah have a syrinx rather than a larynx, meaning that their spoken languages are not pronounceable by humans and they also generally cannot pronounce human languages. Their typical vocalizations tend to sound like a mixture of rapid-fire grunts, hisses and chirps or screeches, which can vary considerably in pitch and cadence--not too dissimilar from how small theropods are believed to have sounded. Various low-pitched bellows and roars appear to be used in the same manner as shouting, being used to be heard across long distances, draw attention, or express anger. Naturally, this has presented considerable difficulties in translating proper nouns. With nothing else to go on, they have been forced to simply do a one-to-one replacement of the characters in their proper nouns with those in the Latin alphabet that most closely resemble them; humans have altered the conversion charts slightly in order to produce more consistently coherent and pronounceable results. Thus, for instance, the label "Kyanah" is simply a human construct and sounds absolutely nothing like what they call their species in their (as in, the soldiers from Ikun city-state) own spoken language. Actual communication between species was initially done through ad hoc gesticulation and amalgamations of human and Kyanah sign languages, which was gradually formalized in the first few years of the invasion, as well as occasionally communicating through writing or drawing when practical. By the end of the war, reliable inter-species machine translation and text-to-speech software would be developed, and in the subsequent years, this would advance to BCI devices that could generate speech in real-time, although not particularly reliable. Interestingly, even Kyanah who have a high base vocabulary of human words seem to struggle significantly with things like modifiers and word ordering, as their own languages tend to handle them in a radically different fashion.
For instance, over 95% of Kyanah writing systems organize words into binary trees rather than linear sentences, with children being semantically related to parents (e.g. subject and object, modifier and modified etc.). Linear scripts, while not unheard of, tend to be rare and associated with more primitive cultures, regardless of whether they're left to right, right to left, or top to bottom. It generally is not particularly important which words are the parent, left child, and right child; the writer chooses in order to optimize the aesthetics of their sentence-trees or place emphasis on a particular word. The nature of the semantic relationship between parents and children in the sentence-trees is denoted not by words comprised of characters, but by special markings called decorators, which in spoken language are expressed using subtle variations in tone, cadence, and volume, while in written language, they take the form of different types of lines between parent and child words. In most languages, decorators are also used for such things as prepositions, conjunctions, and tenses instead of using actual words for such things, resulting in all words referring to specific things or concepts, instead of having glue words that tie together other words or word groups like many human languages do. For instance, "You are eating", "You ate", "You will eat", "Are you eating?", and "Eat" (as an imperative command) all use the exact same words, with the difference lying in the decorators (or the tone/cadence/volume variations if spoken). It gets wilder, in Ikun, "Are the nyrud or the tyukrud in the field?" and "The nyrud and the tyukrud are out of the field." also use the exact same words. It's thus possible, in some cases, to meaningfully answer a question, especially a yes-no question, by simply repeating it back! (Albeit with variations in how the words are said, and with the caveat that simply "False" would be a much more succinct and natural response in this context.) For obvious reasons, decorators are dreaded by any humans attempting to learn Kyanah writing, and explain why Kyanah have an odd tendency to drop glue words and struggle with tenses when using human writing systems. In general, having a syrinx instead of a less complicated larynx allows them to make their vocalizations more compact by expressing a broader range of sounds, making the use of decorators instead of full words to save time a practical option.
Pronouns are another key difference; Kyanah have a whole set between singular and plural pronouns that they use to refer to packs, leaving human translators to awkwardly bounce between them when trying to translate these pronouns. Pack pronouns are a cultural universal for Kyanah; every single known language has them. It is customary to use pack pronouns when speaking to or about a member of another pack, even when only referring to that specific individual; using singular pronouns is usually a faux pas as it implies a higher-than-accurate degree of familiarity and intimacy, similar to a human walking up to a stranger and calling their spouse babe; or in the case of first-person singular, implies that the speaker is in some way deviating from their pack, if they have one. "I like nyrud steaks", when said to someone outside the speaker's pack, would for example strongly imply that the speaker's packmates in fact dislike nyrud steaks, and the speaker is the only one who likes them; saying it to another packmate however would have the connotation that humans would expect. The natural human tendency is to refer to packs using the plural pronouns, as they do in fact consist of multiple distinct individuals, but Kyanah would interpret this as referring to some vague, unspecified group, rather than their own pack. Additionally, as packs are atomic units in Kyanah society, occupying a single role and a single occupation, and being treated as one entity by their legal system, using plurals can create awkward statements in human languages and some meaning can be lost in translation.
Because the Kyanah use sentence-trees rather than linear sentences, languages aren't categorized into subject-verb-object, object-verb-subject, etc. but rather but the method in which the trees are traversed. Around 50% of the homeworld's population uses in-order traversal (left-child parent right-child), while 30%, including Ikun city-state, use pre-order traversal (parent left-child right-child) and the remaining 20% use post-order traversal (left-child right-child parent). To preserve the binary tree structure and prevent sentence-trees from exploding in size when dealing with many subjects/objects/etc. at once, lists of words with the same role in the sentence are placed into containers so as to occupy a single node. Kyanah sentence-trees can go on indefinitely as long as they are focusing on a singular subject; if the primary subject changes, a new sentence-tree must be started. Traditional Kyanah writing involves ornate sentence-trees shaped into aesthetically pleasing or meaningful shapes and sentence-trees are arranged on the page in a visually significant way; this sort of writing is roughly analogous to human calligraphy. Such niceties are typically ignored when typing on computers, in the name of efficiency and ease of programming. Instead, sentence-trees are automatically configured into rigid, standardized shapes and arranged on the page in such a way as to minimize wasted space, while still allowing for the creation of multiple threads. Naturally, traditional-minded Kyanah have been complaining about this since the invention of the computer, saying that it strips away subtle meaning and emotion from the text. However, the desire for efficiency has generally overruled such concerns in mainstream society.
Sentence-trees can be placed anywhere on the page, rather than following a particular order, though there is usually a clearly defined starting and ending point to a sequence; when the next tree in the sequence is not obvious from the position and orientation of the previous one, there is usually some arrow or other marker to point the path. Written works usually contain multiple sequences, each of which will take its own individual path around the page, and each of which is (at least primarily) written by a particular pack member. For this reason, written works are generally meant to be read by a pack collectively, with each member following one thread and later switching threads or explaining relevant aspects to each other if needed. Written works can be read by a single individual, but this requires the reader to frequently context switch between disparate threads that may only be loosely related to each other at times. Single threaded works do exist, but they are considered a separate form of art from mainstream, multi-threaded Kyanah literature. Multi-threaded literature is a direct descendent of story-threads, an ancient Kyanah art form and pastime that likely predates recorded history by a long shot, where members of a pack will take turns speaking sentences to collaboratively build a story. Good ones are sometimes written down and published, allowing other packs to enjoy them (sometimes even hundreds or thousands of years later), with each member of a pack choosing a thread and taking turns reading aloud their part of the story-thread and reenacting it. Interestingly, it is not just literature that is written this way; even textbooks, manuals, and research papers are all written in the same multi-threaded manner, and are likewise designed to be read by an entire pack.
There are plenty of distinct quirks between the different linguistic practices (using the term "language" may be a misnomer as linguistic practices tend to be continuous instead of being divided into discrete languages) in different parts of the world. Other than sentence-tree traversal, some of the most important differences center around the structure of words themselves. In most northern hemisphere scripts, characters represent sounds and have no intrinsic meaning on their own, while words are created by chaining these characters together based on the chronological order that they are pronounced. In southern hemisphere scripts, characters usually represent a few hundred basic objects and concepts and words are created by combining them, either in a linear chain or a graph-like structure, and the graphs tend to have their own unique algorithms for traversing them when reading or speaking, making such linguistic practices among the hardest to learn. For instance, in Kanenhah, "nuke" can be written (or spoken) by combining the characters for "made" (as in, made by Kyanah, not natural), "sun", and "egg" into a graph where the first two connect to the third, while in Koranah, the same word created by linearly chaining characters for "place" and "destroy" plus decorators to make the literal meaning "place destroyer" (which are written and pronounced somewhat differently from Kanenhah's characters for "place" and "destroy"). As an aside--the explanation for why there are so many broad and sweeping changes in language style and culture in general between the northern and southern hemispheres (a divide similar in many ways to the Western and Eastern worlds on Earth) is that impact ranges tend to cluster around the equator, which historically made travel between hemispheres much more difficult than travel within hemispheres. (I totally thought that through ahead of time, and didn't just make it up to retroactively justify the north-south divide.)

2024.05.10 19:01 CrispyUsernameUser9 Any advice around navigating the arrival of first baby in the family and general confusing family dynamics? Are things going to change or can I carry on as before?

Me and my partner who is Korean have been together for 10+ years, not married and are planning to be childfree. He is a middle child and has an older brother by 5 years and a younger sister by 2 years. The older brother got married after a very brief courtship and is now expecting his firstborn after 2 years of marriage.
The parents of my SO view our living arrangements with a more progressive attitude and are accepting of me. They do not pressure us to get officially married and even contributed to our house deposit significantly. They like the fact that I speak to them as if they are my friends, rather than 'elders'. My partner and his siblings were very surprised that this is allowed but very happy that everyone is getting along.
From this you'd gather that the family is fairly progressive in their views no? Well, kinda not really. I am confused about the family expectation and dynamics and will ellaborate a bit further below.
The family hold his brother and his wife at slightly more conservative standards and expect her to act a certain way- nothing crazy, but they do think that it is her duty to reach out and check up on the parents in law as the 'eldest daughter in law' and be their moral support for family matters, such as cheering them on while they care for the ageing grandfather. They expect her to reach out directly to them rather than have SO's brother speak on her behalf, both in person and on phonecalls, and they wish for her to come spend 1 one 1 time with them occasionally. The wife claims she is too shy and it is more appropriate for the husband to reach out to his own family. The parents even told her off in one heated moment and asked to to be more like me, which doesn't really make sense and is the opposite of 'korean values' becasue when I speak to them we never speak about family topics (family members, marriages, children etc), rather we speak about work, literature, art and urbanism (we work in similar industries). Also, I am not expected to attend grandfather's birthdays or chuseok, but are happy when I do. Some years I skipped and they were fine with it. I call his parents by the initials of their first name (e.g HI and GS) rather than their formal 'mother' and 'father' titles that the wife uses.
This causes friction between them and confusion between all of us. The brother and wife seemed to have expected to be treated like a western married couple, rather than be held to some Korean standards; which is tricky because the parents upheld their end of the 'Korean style family values' and paid in full for their wedding, housing and honeymoon. The parents seem to be flip-flopping between western style family dynamics and Korean style values, thus me and my SO are unsure what the arrival of a baby will mean. We do not know if they want to go full on Korean style, or whether they will have a more western approach to things. I am not asking Reddit to try and guess, but I would like to hear some suggestions on what those afformentioned Korean expectations and celebrations might be, and whether aunts and uncles are expected to play a part in them (SO has no idea, he is a blackhaired foreigner according to himself). I just want to keep being on the parents' good side lol.
I do however think that they want to embrace korean customs, for example I know they requested the brother and wife to choose 'the generational part of the first name' to relate to a certain element (fire, earth, water etc) according to the year we are in? Does anyone know anything about that. I know the SO's grandfathers first name has a air component to it, the father has fire and my SO and his siblings earth and idk what this years' element is.
I am not very close to SO's brother and his wife, I don't mind them but we don't have much to speak about. They don't have much in common with us and SO's younger sister. The brother and his wife themselves adopted very traditional roles aka the brother is the sole breadwinner and she gave up her career when they married to prepare to become a full time mom. She is also expecting a designer bag along every milestone they went through as a couple, and he would also get a new watch or expensive whiskey. They also have a very Korean mentality regarding the education that the poor child has to go thorugh. So again, I am very confused at the family dynamics at play here, do you want to be western or korean? How am I supposed to act in the middle of all of this and not make a fool of myself? My partner has no idea either. He is saying 'just be ourselves', but if the brother's wedding planning and ceremony was any indication to go by, then my read on the situation is that his parents are indeed expecting mind reader levels of nunchi here (which I luckly guessed and made a good impression on how to react to things against my SO's advice, but the arrival of the baby feels much bigger and daunting in terms of dynamics).
While I never planned on being a 'fun aunt' in my life, I really respect his parents becasue they also respect me as a person and helped me enormously through school and my career, so I want to put in the effort and welcome the baby properly. I know each family is different, but imagine the most boiler-plate generic korean family here for a second. How involved would the aunts and uncles be? Are you expected to give grandiose gifts? Are you expected to watch the kid by yourself? Are you expected to host or plan for celebrations? Would I even be considered an aunt in the first place? Do you need to prepare something to welcome a baby apart from a gift? Is there some big faux pas to avoid? I don't want to be the reason for another western vs korean way of living debate within the family.
I tried googling this topic but nothing helpful came up. When the brother and wife got married, i tried researching customs on google and nowhere was it mentioned that 'yedan' and 'yemul' were a thing. I found out via scouring reddit! And then painfully trying to translate some korean only videos on the topic lol. I luckily knew to thank the wife's family for her present properly, as without reddit I woudlnt have understood the significance of yedan. (SO's parents don't expect me to know and don't talk to me about such things and my SO genuenlly didn't know this was a thing in the first place!). So reddit, please save me this time too!

I am the 3rd owner of this. Bought it off the swap. First two owners did not cut, carry or disassemble. OG serrated blades are unused. I did disassemble to clean, add a few drops of KPL and a bit of locktite on the pivot. Knife ships with original 2 serrated blades, pivot tool, t9 tool, card & box (sorry no sticker). In addition I did order 6 laser etched wave blades that I think look pretty damn good on this knife. Those will come with it as well. All 6 are brand new have have not been used. If you have not checked this knife out, I highly recommend giving it a look. Very cool design and fun to fidget with.

2024.05.10 16:50 Jazzlike-Ostrich Second Universe Tales: Age of the GATE, Volume 1 Chapter 3

There was a small patch of trees located some distance from the village the Egyptians had recently consolidated, and within those trees was a small house.
The house was roughly the size of a typical Egyptian house. There were two small windows in its walls which were designed to allow the maximum amount of light and wind into the house, due to the lack of glass in the area.
Its walls were made of sun-dried bricks laid on top of each other, and was covered in ivy vines.
The light that filtered through the arching canopy above them warmed the surrounding air causing the house to have an elegant feel to it.
Someone had parked a wagon in front of the house. The bed was buckling under the weight of a small mountain of crates, sacks, and books tied together with twine.
After looking at the amount of luggage on the wagon and the donkey grazing beside the road, one might ask if this was too much for one poor beast to draw.
In front of this heap stood an obviously troubled person, clutching a bundle of books.
She was a girl with silver hair, and looked to be around 14 or 15 years of age. She was wearing a Hadgar.
«Master, we can’t keep piling things onto the wagon. »
No matter what they did, they simply could not cram anything else onto the wagon. The girl calmly related this fact to the person inside the house.
«Tamimt! Can’t you think of something? »
A black-bearded old man poked his head out from a nearby window, with a “I can’t take this” expression on his wrinkled face.
«It would make more sense to leave the herbs behind. »
The girl called Tamimt removed the sacks full of herbs from the wagon one after the other. She placed the book bundle she was holding into the space that was freed up.
The black-haired old man sagged his shoulders.
« Didn’t think that the Zuhadnians would had struck this fast…»
The news of the Sheepmen attack had spread like wildfire.
Normally, they would have dropped everything and fled, but since they had warning in advance, there was still some time to pack. As a result, the village was filled with activity as everyone made their preparations to escape.
The old man grumbled and carried the sacks which Tamimt had taken off the wagon back into the small house. There was a secret door under the bed where he planned to hiding them .
In the meantime, Tamimt guided the donkey over and hitched it to the wagon.
« Master, you’d best mount up quickly. »
« Ah? What are you saying? I’m not interested in mounting a little girl like you. »
«...»
Tamimt glared at the old man with the coldest look she could muster. Then she proceeded to solidify the air into a lump and launched it at him. The solidified air was still only about as hard as a rubber ball, but it still hurt when it hit someone.
« Hey! Stop it! Magic is not a toy! Magic is not to be used for personal gain or enjoyment… Hey! »
« Although there’s still some time, we can’t play around like this. Let’s move out soon. »
« I got it, I got it, no need to rush… you really can’t take a joke, can you? »”
The old man gripped his staff in one hand and settled into the seat next to Lelei. Lelei, on the other hand, glared at the old man and spoke.
« Jokes are meant for entertainment between friends, parents, lovers and other closely related people. However, once they start taking on a sexual nature, one must start taking the other party into consideration as well. For instance, it would be completely unacceptable to start making lewd jokes around a teenage girl. This might well irreparably damage the relationship with them. I believe this should be common knowledge for mature individuals, no? »
The old man sighed deeply as his disciple lectured him.
« Huu… I’m so tired. I wish I didn’t have to get old. »
« Objectively speaking, that is incorrect. I feel that you are as hardy as a cockroach. »
« Now that’s what I call rude. Is that how a disciple should be speaking? »
« This is how I was raised from childhood, and I was raised by you. »
After her unreserved words, Tamimt lightly struck the donkey with her riding crop.
The donkey obediently tried to move forward, but it could not, because the wagon’s bed was overloaded.
« ...Like I said, we’re carrying too much. »
« That was expected. Also, you were the one who said we could keep piling things on, Master. »
Tamimt quietly jumped off the wagon.
She felt that it would be better to keep walking than sit still on an immobilized vehicle.
« Oi, oi! Tamimt, you need to be more patient! If you’re like that, nobody will want to marry you, and that would be a shame! »
As the old man said that, he took up the goad and struck the donkey. The donkey tried its best, but as expected, the wagon refused to budge.
Tamimt noticed that one of the wheels was embedded into the ground, about a third of the way in. If it was stuck like that, it was only natural that the wagon could not move.
« Master, I think you need to get off the wagon. »
« Don’t, don’t worry. After all, don’t we have this? »
The old man raised his staff, and Lelei sighed. Mimicking the tone of her master, she replied: « Magic is not a toy. Magic is not to be used for personal gain or enjoyment…»
Sweat poured like a waterfall from the old man’s forehead, and he rushed to answer her.
« We are magicians, we do not walk like the rest of Humanity. »
However, he could not defy Tamimt’s glare, which was utterly devoid of warmth or compassion.
The old man’s mouth opened up as if he were going “ah~”, and he began chanting the words he had not spoken for a long time.
«...»
His solemnity as an educator clashed with the other feelings in his heart. It would seem the old man’s next move would take some time. After a while, he looked at Lelei with an uncomfortable expression on his face.
« I… I’m sorry. »
« That’s fine. After all, I know that’s how you are. »
Tamimt was a child who did not sugarcoat her words.
After using magic to lighten the weight of the luggage, the donkey could easily pull the wagon and its mountain of cargo. And so, Tamimt and her Master sat on the wagon and left the home they had occupied for many years.
As they drove the wagon to the centre of the village, Lelei noticed many families with wagons full of things, much like herself and her Master. It wasn’t just wagons they used, but haywains and plow harnesses, and some people had even loaded up their horses with saddlebags.
Tamimt looked closely at the other villagers, as if she were studying them.
Her Master spoke.
«You’re an intelligent child. Everyone else must look foolish to your eyes. »
« It’s only natural that Humans would flee with everything they could carry once they heard of the Zuhadnians approach. »
«You said it was natural for Humans… does that mean they’re foolish, then? »
«...»
Lelei could not deny her Master’s words.
If they really valued their own lives, they would immediately drop everything and run as far as they could. Stopping to take on and secure luggage would only waste time that could be spent on fleeing, and the luggage itself would slow them down. It would be too late to abandon it when the Zuhadnians came.
To begin with, why did humans even struggle so hard to survive? Death was inevitable — it would happen sooner or later. What was the point in slightly prolonging one’s life?
Tamimt logically dissected the topic as she considered it, and the old man was agonizing over how to speak with her.
When they reached the centre of the village, they noticed something worrying.
A column of men was marching towards the village.
Countless archers and axemen marched in single file, and in the middle of where they were marching were several chariots.
After an initial moment of panic, Tamimt seemed to recognize them.
Tales came from neighbouring villages of a group of warriors that called themselves “Egyptians”. Under the pretext of defending any Azmabers villages they found, they had peacefully integrated them into their slowly growing empire.
From these villages came news of prosperity and, most importantly, peace.
Perhaps this village did not have to evacuate at all…
One of the Egyptians, what seemed to be a general, walked towards the villagers. « People of Siddique village! We are the Egyptians, servants of Pharaoh Thutmoses. We come here to bring peace and prosperity to your people. The only payment we seek is your loyalty. »
One man, very likely the village elder, came forth. « We have heard of your people. The neighbouring villages speak well of you. »
« This is good to hear. It would be a shame to be compared to the dogs of the Sultanate…» the man replied.
« …Then we will gladly pledge our loyalty to the Pharaoh. We thank you for protecting us, Egyptians. » the elder replied.
« A wise choice. » the man replied, before turning to a group of unarmed Egyptians. « Workers! We need to create a defensive position for when the Sultanate forces will come! We also need to expand the farming land of these people! We cannot fight without full bellies! »
« At once, my lord! » another man, very likely in charge of the workers, replied, as he ordered the workers to plan the construction of a wall around the village.
As that went on, a small group of five armed men arrived, the leader walking towards the man.
« General. We’ve spotted a group of Sheepmen not far from the village. It is only a small raiding party, around 30 of them. I do believe it would be wise to strike them now, with the element of surprise, before they could call the help of their companions. » the man explained.
« That would be wise. You’ll lead an ambush against the sheepmen with the cover of darkness. Bring as many men as you need. I’ll stay here with the majority of the army in case the dogs of the Sultanate attempt an attack on the village. » the general replied.
« Yes, my lord. » the man replied.
As the man went to prepare his expedition, the general smirked. « Very well, Sultanate. Tonight, we shall see your mettle...»
Xxxxxxx
Siddique village was just one of the countless of villages that the Egyptians had integrated in their new land.
Every time, they arrived, promised protection in exchange of loyalty, and they would not only keep to their words, but they would also improve the livelihood of the people there.
Thanks to their farming technique, they managed to expand the farmlands of the villages. Thanks to the walls they built, the villages were now safer from not only the Sheepmen and the Sultanate, but also from bandits and wild animals.
That being said, despite the Egyptian rapid expansion, they so far only had to deal with the latter two.
No attack from either the Sheepmen nor the Sultanate had been noted, with the few exception being villages that had not been found by the Egyptians.
Not to far from Siddique, there was one such village.
An intelligent hunter would consider that killing all the prey would leave none for the future. Fortunately, or unfortunately, it would seem that neither the Sultanate nor the Sheepmen were that smart.
For instance, there was a family who fled said village as they received news that the Sheepmen had been spotted in the vicinity.
The father drove his wagon with his plowhorse, and on that wagon were all the family’s possessions, his 32 year-old wife and his 15 year-old daughter.
The villagers all fled as if they were grazing animals. However, unlike wild herbivores such as buffalos or zebras, this family did not move in a group. There was no time for that, not when the Sheepmen could attack at any moment.
So they ignored their villagers’ cries for them to stop, and left the village on their own.
On their second night, they ran into a Sheepmen raiding party.
The man desperately spurred his horse, but there was no way for the overburdened wagon and horse to move quickly. With no way to resist, the family was captured by the mounted Sheepmen.
The man was slain instantly, and his wife and daughter were taken away.
In the darkness, the Sheepmen gathered around the campfire in their camp and gleefully rummaged through their share of the spoils.
Their prey had not just been carrying coins and currency, but provisions as well. They filled their bellies with the food they had captured. However, they were wise enough to leave one quarter of the provisions they had captured, as well as the two women. This was the so called “Sultanate’s quarter”, a portion of the loot that was to be handed to the Sultanate after every single raid.
« Boss! Coda Village is about to make a move! »
Ever since the first Sheepman raid, scores of villagers had fled. Laden down with luggage, they could not move fast, nor could they fight back. Why not attack them? There was no reason not to do so. They would slaughter and pillage them.
After hearing his minion speak, the boss laughed in satisfaction. It was a good idea, so they should go ahead and do it. But as he thought about it...
« We don’t have enough people. »
It would be asking too much of his band of twenty-odd men to take on an entire village at once.
« We’ll just have to just ask for support from another group of raiders.»
With enough people, they could successfully attack entire villages, and even towns. If he played his cards right, he could gain considerable favours with the Sultanate.
This nameless bandit chief’s final moments were spent imagining a time when he would be happiest. Was that a good thing, or a bad thing?
Either way, his head was struck by a loose arrow, and the chief slumped down on the ground lifeless.
Before the Sheepmen realized what was going on, several others were struck by arrows.
« Ambush! » one of the Sheepmen yelled out, before their lines were shattered by the charge of several chariots.
As the Sheepmen tried to recover from the attack, their ambushers charged in with their axemen.
It was the Egyptian army, who had waited until the coming of darkness for the full element of surprise.
With both superior numbers on their side and the element of surprise, the Sheepmen stood little chance, and started to flee.
The Egyptians went after them, like a pack of wolves hunting down its prey.
The axes sliced through the heads of the Sheepmen, and the surrounding area was littered with corpses.
« Kill them all! Have no mercy! » the leader of the Egyptian army commanded, as he went after the Sheepmen.
Xxxxxxx
Of the 30 Sheepmen warband, only two had managed to survive the Egyptian ambush.
But to say that they were safe would be a lie.
There were no paths in the wilderness at night. The countryside was littered with rock formations, thorny thickets and trees. They stumbled occasionally, their bodies covered in sand and sweat, and their clothes were torn.
Suddenly, however, one of the Sheepmen grabbed by the maws of a beast, with the head of a hawk and the body of a lion.
The last surviving Sheepman blood froze at the sight of the predator.
This was a Hieracosphinx, the apex predator of these lands.
Thinking nothing but his self preservation, the Sheepman abandoned his companion, as he fled further down into the countryside.
His escape did not last long, however, as a loose arrow struck him in the leg, the Sheepman yelling out in pain as he collapsed on the ground.
Then, there was the sound of footsteps.
Upon hearing them, he desperately looked up. The leader of the Egyptian warband towered over him, backlit by the silver disc of the moon. He clearly was the man who had struck him, and was intent on finishing the job.
« P-please! Spare me! I-I’ll give you anything! » the Sheepman pleaded.
« Sparing a murderer? Surely, you jest. » the Egyptian snarled.
« Aiiieeee! I, I, I’ve never killed anyone! »
As the Sheepman said that, the Egyptian raised an eyebrow. « Did you now? »
« It’s true! This was the first raid I did since I joined! »
As the Sheepman said that, the Egyptian laughed. « If what you say is true, then it would be in poor tastes to kill one that has no blood in his hand! You bring a good point, my friend. »
And with that, the Egyptian begun to walk away.
But before the Sheepman could let out a sight of relief, he felt a presence behind him.
Emerging from behind a bush, was a large Hieracosphinx, and he was clearly hungry.
« And so, I shall leave the beast the duty to judge you before the afterlife. » the Egyptian taunted the downed Sheepman, as he went to join the rest of the warband.
Before the Sheepman could beg to be saved, the carnivore pounced, and sunk its claws and razor sharp beak on his flesh.
As he wrestled against the powerful carnivore, the Sheepman cursed himself for his cowardice, something that stopped the Egyptian from granting him a painless death.
For Hieracosphinx do not wait for their prey to die to begun their feast.
It will take many hours before he will be granted the sweet release of death.

[Syracuse, New York, USA] mimic teeth for book
Hello, I am hoping to find someone (either local or in the country to 3d print some mimic teeth for a book design I am wanting to recreate.
In the attached image, I would need the teeth and gums that you see on the book. With an overhang that I can use to attach it to the book.
Also, if you can design some veins for the eyes to sit on (i will be gluing them to the bindebook and covering them with faux leather.)
The teeth are going to be painted, so a white filament or resin would be nice (resin preferred)

Chritmas (Gothic Christmas)

Merry Chritmas (Gothic Element)

https://preview.redd.it/titibt5u5lzc1.png?width=2912&format=png&auto=webp&s=1c6141921d722830d496ad7865eabb895a15e8ee
Chritmas offers a fascinating blend of gothic and spooky elements with traditional Christmas and Yule traditions, centered around "Chrit Ghost," the gift-giving ghost. Here's an extended concept incorporating these themes:
  1. Chrit Ghost:
    • Chrit Ghost is a spectral figure cloaked in midnight black, with glowing eyes with moose skull and a hauntingly kind demeanor.
    • Instead of Santa Claus, Chrit Ghost is the benevolent spirit who visits homes on Chritmas Eve, leaving mysterious gifts under shadowy Chritmas trees.
  2. Decorations:
    • Gothic-inspired decorations adorn Chritmas trees, with dark ornaments like miniature coffins, black roses, and silver spiderwebs.
    • Candles flicker in eerie candelabras, casting dim, flickering light reminiscent of old haunted mansions.
    • Wreaths made of dried black roses and thorny branches hang on doors, adding a touch of macabre elegance.
  3. Feast of Shadows:
    • The Chritmas feast, known as the Feast of Shadows, features dark delicacies like blood-red velvet cake, roasted black garlic potatoes, and mulled wine with a hint of cloves and cinnamon.
    • Tables are draped in midnight blue and adorned with candelabras, skull-shaped goblets, and tarnished silverware.
  4. Chritmas Carols:
    • Carols take on a haunting tone, with lyrics that weave tales of ghosts, witches, and ancient mysteries. Songs like "O Come, All Ye Spirits" and "The Haunted Bells of Chritmas" set the mood.
    • Musicians play eerie melodies on violins, harpsichords, and haunting flutes, adding to the spectral ambiance.
  5. Chritmas Eve Rituals:
    • Families gather around a crackling fireplace to tell ghost stories, sharing tales of apparitions, restless spirits, and mysterious happenings.
    • Children leave offerings of dark chocolates and dried fruits for Chrit Ghost, hoping to receive ethereal gifts in return.
  6. Gifts from the Otherworld:
    • Chrit Ghost leaves gifts that reflect the gothic and mystical themes of Chritmas, such as antique pocket watches, spellbooks filled with secrets, and enchanted crystals.
    • Handcrafted items like gothic jewelry, leather-bound journals, and ornate masks hold special meaning in this ethereal exchange.
  7. Yule Traditions:
    • Yule celebrations intertwine with Chritmas, incorporating ancient pagan customs such as burning Yule logs, decorating with holly and mistletoe, and honoring the rebirth of the sun.
    • The Chritmas tree becomes a symbol of life and renewal, adorned with symbols of nature, magic, and the cycle of seasons.
  8. Spirit of Chritmas:
    • Chritmas embraces the beauty of darkness and light, blending gothic aesthetics with the warmth of togetherness, generosity, and the joy of sharing stories and traditions.
    • It's a time to honor the mysteries of the night, the spirits of the past, and the magic that surrounds us in both the seen and unseen realms.
Chritmas, with its Gothic and spooky twist on traditional Chritmas and Yule customs, invites us to embrace the enchanting shadows and mysteries that lie beyond the veil, celebrating the beauty of the unknown and the timeless spirit of giving and connection.

  6. Decorate (Optional):
    • Once the cake has cooled, you can dust the top with powdered sugar for a snowy effect, adding a festive touch to your Chritmas cake.
Slice and serve your delicious Black Cranberry Chritmas Cake as a delightful dessert for your Chritmas celebrations. The combination of dark flavors and tangy cranberries is sure to be a hit!

Cobweb Tree Topper (DIY)

A Cobweb Tree Topper for Chritmas adds a spooky and gothic touch to your holiday decor. Here's how you can make one:
Materials Needed:
  1. Black or dark-colored wire
  2. Black feathers or faux spider webs
  3. Small plastic spiders or spider ornaments
  4. Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  5. Black spray paint (optional)
  6. Wire cutters
  7. Ribbon or string for hanging (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Create the Base:
    • Using the wire, shape a cone or pyramid structure to serve as the base of your cobweb tree topper. You can start with a smaller cone and gradually widen it as you go up.
    • Secure the wire pieces together using hot glue to form a sturdy base.
  2. Add the Cobweb Design:
    • Take the black feathers or faux spider webs and drape them over the wire structure. You can create a cobweb-like pattern by crisscrossing the feathers or webs in a random, intricate manner.
    • Secure the feathers or webs in place with hot glue as needed to ensure they stay attached to the wire base.
  3. Enhance with Spiders:
    • Attach small plastic spiders or spider ornaments to the cobweb design using hot glue. Place them strategically to create a creepy, crawling effect on the cobweb tree topper.
    • You can also add some larger spiders crawling down the sides of the wire structure for a more dramatic look.
  4. Optional Spray Paint:
    • If desired, you can spray paint the entire cobweb tree topper with black paint to give it a darker, more uniform appearance. Allow the paint to dry completely before proceeding.
  5. Attach Hanging Mechanism (Optional):
    • If you want to hang the cobweb tree topper from the tree, attach a ribbon or string to the top of the wire structure using hot glue. Make sure it's securely attached and can support the weight of the topper.
  6. Place on Top of the Tree:
    • Once your cobweb tree topper is complete and any paint or glue has dried, carefully place it on top of your Chritmas tree. Ensure it's balanced and securely attached to the tree's tip.
Your Cobweb Tree Topper for Chritmas is now ready to add a touch of gothic elegance and spooky charm to your holiday decorations. It's sure to stand out and create a unique focal point for your Chritmas festivities.

The Original Purpose of the Divine Towers and Farum Azula's Doom
Of the 400 hours I have spent in this game, probably 1/2 of that time has been spent on trying to understand the Divine Towers (DT) and Farum Azula (AZ). What was their history? Who built them? Why is FA crumbling? Why do the DT have meteorite's imbedded in them? And the list goes on and on.
Now I believe I know enough about their history to determine two things: The reason the DT were created and why Farum Azula is crumbling, and subsequently why it is located to the east and only visible by the Isolated Divine Tower.
For those who want the express answer, TL;DR:
  • FA is based on Laputa from Castle in the Sky AND Gulliver's travels
  • The DT were built likely to protect the inhabitants on the ground from FA, to destroy FA, or both.
  • Gullivers travels have a story (that castle in the sky is based on) about a flying kingdom called Laputa. In the story, some of the people rebel and build towers containing magnetic stones that cause mechanics of Laputa to begin to fail to cause the city to crash on the towers so it would break apart.
The details behind these points are listed below.
1. The Ruins of Farum Azula
If you explore Limgrave and Liurnia, you'll notice that both of these regions feature many ruins, but ONLY these regions. That has bothered me for a long time. You won't find the ruins in Caelid, Altus, Gelmir, or the Mountain Top of the Giants. We know these ruins fell from the sky as the Ruin Fragment, which can be found all over these ruins, has a description that says:
"Stone fragment found near places where ruins have fallen from the sky. Can be used for crafting, or simply for throwing at enemies. These shards of stone are believed to have once been part of a temple in the sky. They glow with a faint light from within."
And the Sanctuary Stone description reads:
"A rare piece of stone fragment found near places where ruins have fallen from the sky."
There is a small detail that all of these ruins share that help us identify why FA is called Farum AZULA. Azula is a feminine Spanish word/name for Blue. If you look closely at any of the fallen ruins, you'll see this color barely clinging on:
https://preview.redd.it/yr8b0t9ddjzc1.jpg?width=2671&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9633d3867ddc0395e32d0c5028add5dee8d24d9c
This blue can also be found on beastmen adornments and in their burial statues
This Blue appears to be the remnants of a kind of paint that once coated the ruins. We have real world examples of this from multiple ancient civilizations (Greeks, Romans, Egyptians etc) where over the centuries the original color of statues and buildings has faded. So now we have an idea as to why FA is called "Farum Blue" (Additionally, some of the jewelry worn by the beast-men of FA also have blue ornamentation as well as the corpses held in the structures all over FA and the Bestial Sanctum.)
So what of there structure? Which part of Farum Azula did these ruins make up? Well I tried to get creative and reconstruct them as best I could. There seem to be about two main types of ruins: Circular and Square. The circular ruins look like the once formed a circular wall or tower and the square pieces look like they might have been the tops of the towers. I took a screenshot of one of the ruins and followed the curvature in an attempt to recreate the structure:
https://preview.redd.it/1u0yimwidjzc1.jpg?width=1427&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73d04d13b7b30be1922366ee6ac1746602dca685
You might have to zoom in on this picture to see the ruin's behind the character.
It is possible I am too in the weeds with this, especially since all the ruins are the same: Designs on the top, inside, and outside of the structures with the bottoms and sides indicating they were once connected to other pieces or the ground. That they were all the same height. But there is another option, the structure under the Bestial Sanctum.
https://preview.redd.it/9mt2ggfmdjzc1.jpg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3666887f24cee07ed08beafcba7fe8b9960237c8
The structure under the sanctum has an incomplete tower like design but based on how it seems partially buried, might be a completed tower. Additionally, the bestial sanctum structure also features the square shapes that we see scattered around Limgrave and Liurnia.
As I mentioned above, the ruin fragments and sanctuary stones can both be found on this structure as you climb down, but that I'll touch on that later.
Now that we have looked at the ruins themselves in terms of structure, we still need to figure out WHY they are scattered the way they are. Why do they only appear in two regions? The Ruins Greatsword may have the answer:
"Originally rubble from a ruin which fell from the sky, this surviving fragment was honed into a weapon. One of the legendary armaments.
The ruin it came from crumbled when struck by a meteorite, as such this weapon harbors its destructive power."
When something impacted by great force like a bullet, cannon ball, or a meteor, the impact will launch the broken pieces out away from the place of impact. We might be able to use the locations of the ruins to determine where FA was when it was struck:
https://preview.redd.it/hgiwbrgpdjzc1.jpg?width=1524&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9e9ce607926aa65ced637b5e266fde8b97aa086
If you notice where the red arrow points, you might catch onto an idea I am playing with about which meteor struck FA...
The yellow lines above creating the farthest the ruins go in each region, we can roughly figure out FA's location when it was struck. It is also possible that the one meteor broke into multiple pieces (as often happens with meteors; literally a meteor shower) just prior to striking FA as we can find multiple meteors throughout the lands between (every tunnel has a meteor in the boss room).
So now that we have the potential location of FA when it was struck, you may wonder "what does this have to do with the DTs?"
2. The Intended Purpose of the Divine Towers
If you have spent any time researching the inspirations for many of Elden Ring's designs and lore you will have no doubt come across Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky. FA seems to be heavily inspired by Laputa, the literal Castle in the Sky from the movie of the same name.
https://preview.redd.it/oswm6x0sdjzc1.jpg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b9904d5b02d99d2e297032017d713da8c30ad67
We can see several inspirations for FA in the Castle of Laputa from the outer ring walls to the giant tree that houses the powering device of the Castle. The underside of the city, where the dome is, is an ancient technology capable of destruction as serves as a kind of control point for the city. And guess which color it is? That's right, Blue.
But Laputa does not originate in Castle in the Sky. The story of Laputa goes much further back to the original story that inspired Hayao Miyazaki movie, Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels. On one of Gulliver's voyages he and his men are attacked by pirates. Gulliver then find himself marooned on an island and while exploring notices a large object in the sky blocks out the sun. The object is the floating city of Laputa. Laputa is a large cicular city with a flat underside. The underside of the city is made of Adamant, which extends up 200 yards from the bottom. Adamant is a blue stone and it covers the entire underside of the city.
https://preview.redd.it/laay4ar1ejzc1.jpg?width=932&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3249f092d0dfaa7b65c57828a639befd16786d36

Here is the section of the story further describing the construction of the city (fair warning, it's not short) Skip ahead to the next bold text to skip the story:
"The flying or floating island is exactly circular, its diameter 7837 yards, or about four miles and a half, and consequently contains ten thousand acres. It is three hundred yards thick. The bottom, or under surface, which appears to those who view it below, is one even regular plate of adamant, shooting up to the height of about two hundred yards. Above it lie the several minerals in their usual order, and over all is a coat of rich mould, ten or twelve feet deep. The declivity of the upper surface, from the circumference to the centre, is the natural cause why all the dews and rains, which fall upon the island, are conveyed in small rivulets toward the middle, where they are emptied into four large basins, each of about half a mile in circuit, and two hundred yards distant from the centre. From these basins the water is continually exhaled by the sun in the daytime, which effectually prevents their overflowing. Besides, as it is in the power of the monarch to raise the island above the region of clouds and vapours, he can prevent the falling of dews and rain whenever he pleases. For the highest clouds cannot rise above two miles, as naturalists agree, at least they were never known to do so in that country.
At the centre of the island there is a chasm about fifty yards in diameter, whence the astronomers descend into a large dome, which is therefore called flandona gagnole, or the astronomer’s cave, situated at the depth of a hundred yards beneath the upper surface of the adamant. In this cave are twenty lamps continually burning, which, from the reflection of the adamant, cast a strong light into every part. The place is stored with great variety of sextants, quadrants, telescopes, astrolabes, and other astronomical instruments. But the greatest curiosity, upon which the fate of the island depends, is a loadstone of a prodigious size, in shape resembling a weaver’s shuttle. It is in length six yards, and in the thickest part at least three yards over. This magnet is sustained by a very strong axle of adamant passing through its middle, upon which it plays, and is poised so exactly that the weakest hand can turn it. It is hooped round with a hollow cylinder of adamant, four feet deep, as many thick, and twelve yards in diameter, placed horizontally, and supported by eight adamantine feet, each six yards high. In the middle of the concave side, there is a groove twelve inches deep, in which the extremities of the axle are lodged, and turned round as there is occasion.
The stone cannot be removed from its place by any force, because the hoop and its feet are one continued piece with that body of adamant which constitutes the bottom of the island.
By means of this loadstone, the island is made to rise and fall, and move from one place to another. For, with respect to that part of the earth over which the monarch presides, the stone is endued at one of its sides with an attractive power, and at the other with a repulsive. Upon placing the magnet erect, with its attracting end towards the earth, the island descends; but when the repelling extremity points downwards, the island mounts directly upwards. When the position of the stone is oblique, the motion of the island is so too. For in this magnet, the forces always act in lines parallel to its direction.
By this oblique motion, the island is conveyed to different parts of the monarch’s dominions. To explain the manner of its progress, let A B represent a line drawn across the dominions of Balnibarbi, let the line c d represent the loadstone, of which let d be the repelling end, and c the attracting end, the island being over C; let the stone be placed in the position c d, with its repelling end downwards; then the island will be driven upwards obliquely towards D. When it is arrived at D, let the stone be turned upon its axle, till its attracting end points towards E, and then the island will be carried obliquely towards E; where, if the stone be again turned upon its axle till it stands in the position E F, with its repelling point downwards, the island will rise obliquely towards F, where, by directing the attracting end towards G, the island may be carried to G, and from G to H, by turning the stone, so as to make its repelling extremity to point directly downward. And thus, by changing the situation of the stone, as often as there is occasion, the island is made to rise and fall by turns in an oblique direction, and by those alternate risings and fallings (the obliquity being not considerable) is conveyed from one part of the dominions to the other.
But it must be observed, that this island cannot move beyond the extent of the dominions below, nor can it rise above the height of four miles. For which the astronomers (who have written large systems concerning the stone) assign the following reason: that the magnetic virtue does not extend beyond the distance of four miles, and that the mineral, which acts upon the stone in the bowels of the earth, and in the sea about six leagues distant from the shore, is not diffused through the whole globe, but terminated with the limits of the king’s dominions; and it was easy, from the great advantage of such a superior situation, for a prince to bring under his obedience whatever country lay within the attraction of that magnet.
When the stone is put parallel to the plane of the horizon, the island stands still; for in that case the extremities of it, being at equal distance from the earth, act with equal force, the one in drawing downwards, the other in pushing upwards, and consequently no motion can ensue.
This loadstone is under the care of certain astronomers, who, from time to time, give it such positions as the monarch directs. They spend the greatest part of their lives in observing the celestial bodies, which they do by the assistance of glasses, far excelling ours in goodness. For, although their largest telescopes do not exceed three feet, they magnify much more than those of a hundred with us, and show the stars with greater clearness. This advantage has enabled them to extend their discoveries much further than our astronomers in Europe; for they have made a catalogue of ten thousand fixed stars, whereas the largest of ours do not contain above one third part of that number. They have likewise discovered two lesser stars, or satellites, which revolve about Mars; whereof the innermost is distant from the centre of the primary planet exactly three of his diameters, and the outermost, five; the former revolves in the space of ten hours, and the latter in twenty-one and a half; so that the squares of their periodical times are very near in the same proportion with the cubes of their distance from the centre of Mars; which evidently shows them to be governed by the same law of gravitation that influences the other heavenly bodies.
They have observed ninety-three different comets, and settled their periods with great exactness. If this be true (and they affirm it with great confidence) it is much to be wished, that their observations were made public, whereby the theory of comets, which at present is very lame and defective, might be brought to the same perfection with other arts of astronomy.
The king would be the most absolute prince in the universe, if he could but prevail on a ministry to join with him; but these having their estates below on the continent, and considering that the office of a favourite has a very uncertain tenure, would never consent to the enslaving of their country.
If any town should engage in rebellion or mutiny, fall into violent factions, or refuse to pay the usual tribute, the king has two methods of reducing them to obedience. The first and the mildest course is, by keeping the island hovering over such a town, and the lands about it, whereby he can deprive them of the benefit of the sun and the rain, and consequently afflict the inhabitants with dearth and diseases. And if the crime deserve it, they are at the same time pelted from above with great stones, against which they have no defence but by creeping into cellars or caves, while the roofs of their houses are beaten to pieces. But if they still continue obstinate, or offer to raise insurrections, he proceeds to the last remedy, by letting the island drop directly upon their heads, which makes a universal destruction both of houses and men. However, this is an extremity to which the prince is seldom driven, neither indeed is he willing to put it in execution; nor dare his ministers advise him to an action, which, as it would render them odious to the people, so it would be a great damage to their own estates, which all lie below; for the island is the king’s demesne.
But there is still indeed a more weighty reason, why the kings of this country have been always averse from executing so terrible an action, unless upon the utmost necessity. For, if the town intended to be destroyed should have in it any tall rocks, as it generally falls out in the larger cities, a situation probably chosen at first with a view to prevent such a catastrophe; or if it abound in high spires, or pillars of stone, a sudden fall might endanger the bottom or under surface of the island, which, although it consist, as I have said, of one entire adamant, two hundred yards thick, might happen to crack by too great a shock, or burst by approaching too near the fires from the houses below, as the backs, both of iron and stone, will often do in our chimneys. Of all this the people are well apprised, and understand how far to carry their obstinacy, where their liberty or property is concerned. And the king, when he is highest provoked, and most determined to press a city to rubbish, orders the island to descend with great gentleness, out of a pretence of tenderness to his people, but, indeed, for fear of breaking the adamantine bottom; in which case, it is the opinion of all their philosophers, that the loadstone could no longer hold it up, and the whole mass would fall to the ground.
About three years before my arrival among them, while the king was in his progress over his dominions, there happened an extraordinary accident which had like to have put a period to the fate of that monarchy, at least as it is now instituted. Lindalino, the second city in the kingdom, was the first his majesty visited in his progress. Three days after his departure the inhabitants, who had often complained of great oppressions, shut the town gates, seized on the governor, and with incredible speed and labour erected four large towers, one at every corner of the city (which is an exact square), equal in height to a strong pointed rock that stands directly in the centre of the city. Upon the top of each tower, as well as upon the rock, they fixed a great loadstone, and in case their design should fail, they had provided a vast quantity of the most combustible fuel, hoping to burst therewith the adamantine bottom of the island, if the loadstone project should miscarry.
It was eight months before the king had perfect notice that the Lindalinians were in rebellion. He then commanded that the island should be wafted over the city. The people were unanimous, and had laid in store of provisions, and a great river runs through the middle of the town. The king hovered over them several days to deprive them of the sun and the rain. He ordered many packthreads to be let down, yet not a person offered to send up a petition, but instead thereof very bold demands, the redress of all their grievances, great immunities, the choice of their own governor, and other the like exorbitances. Upon which his majesty commanded all the inhabitants of the island to cast great stones from the lower gallery into the town; but the citizens had provided against this mischief by conveying their persons and effects into the four towers, and other strong buildings, and vaults underground.
The king being now determined to reduce this proud people, ordered that the island should descend gently within forty yards of the top of the towers and rock. This was accordingly done; but the officers employed in that work found the descent much speedier than usual, and by turning the loadstone could not without great difficulty keep it in a firm position, but found the island inclining to fall. They sent the king immediate intelligence of this astonishing event, and begged his majesty’s permission to raise the island higher; the king consented, a general council was called, and the officers of the loadstone ordered to attend. One of the oldest and expertest among them obtained leave to try an experiment, he took a strong line of an hundred yards, and the island being raised over the town above the attracting power they had felt, he fastened a piece of adamant to the end of his line, which had in it a mixture of iron mineral, of the same nature with that whereof the bottom or lower surface of the island is composed, and from the lower gallery let it down slowly towards the top of the towers. The adamant was not descended four yards, before the officer felt it drawn so strongly downwards that he could hardly pull it back, he then threw down several small pieces of adamant, and observed that they were all violently attracted by the top of the tower. The same experiment was made on the other three towers, and on the rock with the same effect.
This incident broke entirely the king’s measures, and (to dwell no longer on other circumstances) he was forced to give the town their own conditions.
I was assured by a great minister that if the island had descended so near the town as not to be able to raise itself, the citizens were determined to fix it for ever, to kill the king and all his servants, and entirely change the government.
By a fundamental law of this realm, neither the king, nor either of his two eldest sons, are permitted to leave the island; nor the queen, till she is past child-bearing."
Stop Here
There are a couple of things to note from Gulliver's account of Laputa:
  • The Adamant (which is blue)
  • The lodestone that controls Laputa's movement
  • The Astronomer's cave (dome) which houses the lodestone and the eight pedestals that hold it up in the cylinder in which it sits.
  • The towers that house lodetones of their own to bring down Laputa
You can already see where I am going with the Divine towers. Housed in each tower at the top are multiple meteors and meteors house gravitational power. Additionally, lodestone is a real stone that is magnetized. And this is what the rock looks like:
https://preview.redd.it/pi8xqdi4ejzc1.jpg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ac691893df418414ed4c96bb42eaa43446c3d15
Now compare that to a picture of picture of the rocks that make up the very foundations of FA:
https://preview.redd.it/q5t3yxw6ejzc1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc100b83df5036d28851978205766e78a1405a7f
Ok, so the towers have gravitational power and FA is made of lodestone/is magnetized, how does that relate? Well lets look at the symbol for gravitational magic/power in Elden Ring:
https://preview.redd.it/q3gkjkmbejzc1.png?width=512&format=png&auto=webp&s=13ccd12848e9fef2046d12c4ac533e2ec505890d
This symbol actually represents how Earth's magnetic poles work in real life. Gravity is literally responsible for Earth's magnetic poles and the effects they have on our planet:
https://preview.redd.it/nf2f4m6gejzc1.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=053bb61f25d0720be0b7027050448e1cc3929da2
All that to say, FA does not have a lodestone to direct it's movements like Laputa does, it IS a lodestone.
Side note: Since electromagnetism is essentially why lightning exists (a negative charge being attracted to a positive one) I am playing with the idea that dragons can control lightning themselves because the are living lodestones. Additionally, we know that gravity affects time dilation in the real world. It's possible that the dragon's bodies allows them to lightly twist time as well as control lightning. If you examine the bodies, the bodies of the dead ones in the walls of FA and even the damaged body of Placidusax, you'll notice the same rock and mineral vein patterns on them all, that again, look like lodestones from real life:
https://preview.redd.it/dvdh6zwkejzc1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0722807afe3a6f1c81bdd1d8b8b22e93e45ce81
This would be similar to how the onyx and alabasters lords are living stones and who also have mineral veins on their bodies:
https://preview.redd.it/tki6eprnejzc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=735afd4702e46ae566b43fddda1b0359928126b0
The difference being that one harnesses more of the gravitational aspect and the other lightning or electromagnetism. But I've only just thought of all of this so back to the main subject.
FA may have come from the surface of the lands between, but that was "time immemorial". So long ago that the lands likely look nothing like they used to, with only the DT and FA (and a few other ruins) left to indicate the world as they knew it.
So the question is, if the towers were meant to pull FA down in hopes of destroying or crippling it, was it a wasted effort? Well, maybe not. The two unique features to the isolated DT is that you can actually FA from the top of the tower and the tower itself is damaged on top. No other tower has these details. I don't think that is a coincidence.
https://preview.redd.it/5lbv21jqejzc1.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8100e78481e56972dcf6e9498c31eda168fb4f24
Despite the Bestial Sanctum being a few hundred yards away at most and sharing the same architecture, FA is still not visible from that location.
Tarnished Archeologist, in his video where he discusses the making of the towers, points out (and I agree) that what may rest underneath the two fingers atop each tower (or Ranni's body), or at least once did, was a central meteor. This would fit with what we see around the rest of the tower. He also posits that it was the giants who built these towers (as the eye of the fell god matches the 8 points, which are meteors, around the center point, which would be another meteor).
I speculate that after being damaged, FA was in retreat and proceeded east passing over the Isolated Divine Tower and struck it due to the gravitational force that pulled it down and reducing it to what it is now by essentially shredding what survived. I also speculate that this contact with the DT allows us to see FA from the tower itself when it's not visible from anywhere else.
3. Additional Thoughts/Speculations
These speculations don't quite address a few other questions that aren't necessarily related, like why the storm? I have also considered that this storm may have been an attack by the Storm King to attack or confine Placidusax in an act of Rebellion.
In Gulliver's Travels the town that built the towers are essentially rebelling against Laputa. This act of defiance and rebellion would line up with the Storm King description:
"Ashes of a hawk revered by all others as sovereign back in the days when Stormveil's winds still raged like no other.
This ancient monarch is proud however, refusing to answer anyone's summons."
In addition to this, we find storm hawks in FA. We also find banished knights in FA and the other place we find both together is Stormveil Castle. It would almost seem like both were part of a rebellious war against the inhabitants of FA.
I also think its possible the original inhabitants of FA were the humans we see depicted in the architecture and that the dragons took over. Thus the act of rebellion was a means to fight against the dragons tyrannical rule. After all we know the dragons are not against going to war against the human races of the Lands Between.
We know the final resting place of the Great Alexander is FA after we defeat him. Alexandria Egypt is the resting place of Alexander the Great from history. The Pharos of Alexndria is also in this location. Pharos = Farum. Further, Egypt was the only ancient civilization to use heavily use the color blue. The ancient Egyptians held the color blue in very high regard and were eager to present it on many media and in a variety of forms. They also desired to imitate the semiprecious stones turquoise and lapis lazuli which were valued for their rarity and stark blue color. Apart from Egypt, ancient civilizations had no word for the color blue. It was the last color to appear in many languages, including Greek, Chinese, Japanese, and Hebrew.
It would seem that in addition to being inspired by Miyazaki and Swift's Laputa, FA was also the Land's Between version of ancient Egypt.
Another interesting feature in FA is the boss area where you fight Maliketh. In the boss around, which sits in the massive dome, there are 8 pillars. These are the pillars that Maliketh will jump off of when he attacks you in phase 2. The pillars are in two rows of 4. Now look at the throne room in Laputa from Castle in the Sky:
https://preview.redd.it/cz0j8qwvejzc1.jpg?width=3579&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5cc4a0522d2f7bbedf7b8018ff1497b450a3b275
There are 8 circles on the floor as if 8 cylindrical objects were positioned there. This throne room in Laputa sits above the core of the castle/city where the lodestone controls the movement.

The reason the Divine Towers were created and Farum Azula's original location.
  • >! FA is based on Laputa from Castle in the Sky AND Gulliver's travels!<
  • >! The DT were built likely to protect the inhabitants on the ground from FA, to destroy FA, or both.!<
  • Gullivers travels have a story (that castle in the sky is based on) about a flying kingdom called Laputa.
You might have to zoom in on this picture to see the ruin's behind the character.
It is possible I am too in the weeds with this, especially since all the ruins are the same: Designs on the top, inside, and outside of the structures with the bottoms and sides indicating they were once connected to other pieces or the ground. That they were all the same height. But there is another option, the structure under the Bestial Sanctum.
https://preview.redd.it/vis72frizizc1.jpg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fdd4e73eed283facab6fb579fd32f14bbcf1f86a
The structure under the sanctum has an incomplete tower like design but based on how it seems partially buried, might be a completed tower. Additionally, the bestial sanctum structure also features the square shapes that we see scattered around Limgrave and Liurnia.
https://preview.redd.it/dbc1u4rlzizc1.png?width=784&format=png&auto=webp&s=c99c94440e982faa28b05c5ed11298c042152ba5
The Ruins Greatsword may have the answer:
https://preview.redd.it/yji645nzzizc1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3185cdad2b00dafe834c174981e1321366a0cabc
FA seems to be heavily inspired by Laputa, the literal Castle in the Sky from the movie of the same name.
https://preview.redd.it/0isjx1bv0jzc1.jpg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=67cb7111c2072aea6cd634b6e086ea0adbd36d32
Adamant is a blue stone and it covers the entire underside of the city.
https://preview.redd.it/klrjpzv11jzc1.jpg?width=932&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb03e0d373b51999c676e98e4685de9ea577e7e6
The stone cannot be removed from its place by any force, because the hoop and its feet are one continued piece with that body of adamant which constitutes the bottom of the island.
https://preview.redd.it/16d4or7c1jzc1.jpg?width=170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1105b00655b605a005f49338140f9358038c241
And this is what the rock looks like:
https://preview.redd.it/v7saibo81jzc1.jpg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c29f73ba72afb8fbc22a3c13057d80c281f0c156
Now compare that to a picture of picture of the rocks that make up the very foundations of FA:
https://preview.redd.it/xu36fzkb2jzc1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9375b6a6043d7d2874bdea55e5d5e01bb2d6e1f
Ok, so the towers have gravitational power and FA is made of lodestone/is magnetized, how does that relate? Well lets look at the symbol for gravitational magic/power in Elden Ring:
https://preview.redd.it/bprvtm0h2jzc1.png?width=512&format=png&auto=webp&s=3a8925dcc82e02fc23b4d5f6307513c4db45c1d3
This symbol actually represents how Earth's magnetic poles work in real life. Gravity is literally responsible for Earth's magnetic poles and the effects they have on our planet:
https://preview.redd.it/h33knhii2jzc1.png?width=260&format=png&auto=webp&s=62f14c03a97587e937af0d52443fa3715835fa40
If you examine the bodies, the bodies of the dead ones in the walls of FA and even the damaged body of Placidusax, you'll notice the same rock and mineral vein patterns on them all, that again, look like lodestones from real life:
https://preview.redd.it/jrjvl97l3jzc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=a8b6f09020225179634d705873b3305d28190349
https://preview.redd.it/08fum3zq3jzc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=f62ab190f409c2cc6131715c887b3811158eb251
https://preview.redd.it/0hrittet3jzc1.png?width=1800&format=png&auto=webp&s=d2e4562db933f43b2e75a6941b8e1d926e3291c9
This would be similar to how the onyx and alabasters lords are living stones and who also have mineral veins on their bodies:
https://preview.redd.it/1w29jo224jzc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=b21fe99cafdb471aa04e127da153ec23777d7fde
https://preview.redd.it/aldl83x44jzc1.png?width=461&format=png&auto=webp&s=a826973001b20327fd9912814e1f3eeb3f07e02f
Now look at the throne room in Laputa from Castle in the Sky:
https://preview.redd.it/4lduboubcjzc1.jpg?width=3579&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=834ef1d1c9d40d17a43efb7a44d5d1e58c5ec411
There are 8 circles on the floor as if 8 cylindrical objects were positioned there. This throne room in Laputa sits above the core of the castle/city where the lodestone controls the movement.

2024.05.10 00:02 man_impregnator introduction! re-accepting this part of me.

hello!! my name's charlie or CJ. i use any pronouns though I prefer it/he (it>he>they>she in preference order). I'm a transgendegenderless male-presenting individual and aroace, still questioning my sexuality though I'm pretty sure I'm gay. I've been in this community for as long as I can remember, and felt comfortable using the label of "therian" in my early teenage years (12-14), but I'm getting older now and have been struggling to accept this part of me and accepting the fact that it's not just another faze. though scrolling through this reddit has made me feel a bit more comfortable with my identity. so, I'm a polytherian: wolfdog, siberian tiger, domestic cat (ginger), eurasian eagle owl & red tailed hawk. I'm also birdhearted, I have an extremely strong connection with birds, especially those of prey. im also concepthearted with the ocean, living on an island my entire life and being being constantly surrounded by it, so it means a lot to me. so yeah! some other non-identity based stuff about me I guess is that I love floriculture, ornithology, graphic design, itsv/atsv, cosmo sheldrake and stealing sheep (the band, lol). looking forward to posting more here eventually! 🐦‍⬛

CKF EVO 4.0 DLC - SV665 640 615 590 SOLD SOLD SOLD
https://imgur.com/a/NmEzCBn
I am at least the 3rd owner. I received this a few weeks ago with the intention of keeping it forever but I just received a Dukling in a trade for something I was trying to sell so something has to go. Easy decision. Factory edge. The pivot was loose, so I disassembled, cleaned and oiled with KPL. Put a small bit of locktie on the pivot. Awesome action, fun knife. Comes with pouch, spare hardware, cloth & coa. I have not cut or carried it.
Pena Alacran Frost Fat Carbon Inlay - SV 235 210 SOLD SOLD SOLD
https://imgur.com/a/EhnTBrT
I am the 2nd owner of this knife. No cut or carry by either of us. Knife looks flawless and edge appears to be factory. The original owner stated that he disassembled the knife and installed skiffs. I have not disassembled the knife so I can't verify that. If so it does not come with the original. Only the knife and the box (how I received it). Action is smooth and amazing, centered & solid lock up. This is my 2nd Alacran I bought it because I missed my first one but once I received it I realized my tastes have changed so I'm moving this along.
G&G Hawk Shortcut - SV 465
https://imgur.com/a/Vw0lAGA
Microtech Hera Hellhound Frag Shadow - SV 540
https://imgur.com/a/Ux0k7zX
I am the 2nd owner of the knife. Bought it off the swap. Letting it go for what a paid plus a bit extra to cover shipping. The first owner did not cut, carry or disassemble. I have not either. It has sat in my knife case since I bought it so time to move along. LNIB condition.
Thank you for looking & happy hunting!

2024.05.09 23:53 TwinPeaksRose [The Definitive Dossier?] Twin Peaks Season 3 - Part 3

  1. Dale Cooper in The Black Lodge [ Episode 2]
“You may be brave in this world Cooper, but there are other worlds.”
Dale and Laura, 25 years later. It’s time to Dale leave the Black Lodge. In this scene, Laura ‘s essence is sent to a Alternative Reality where she is named Carrie Page and her parents are Leland and Sarah but she doesn’t remember the name Laura. Since the beggining, The White Lodge wanted Bob’s head and the Blue Rose Task Force wanted Judy’s Head. It matchs with the end of season 3, anyway. I think the goal is she be killed again, by Judy. On Episode 18, Cooper finds her and wants to take her home, to her family, for she is a missing girl named Laura. Her return leads to Judy’s death in somepoint of the history. It explains why they can’t find her family.
The Arm said: “Your doppelgänger needs to back BEFORE you leave.”
Bob said to Darya he will not back to Black Lodge because he has a plan [Dougie Jones]. Dougie Jones was pulled back and Dale Cooper came out. Once it happened, we have two Dales in the same reality and on Episode 4, Mike said to Dale “ You were tricked. One of you must die.” So it shows that there is no doubt that in the end of season Bob died, not sent to BL.
1.1 Dale Cooper Inside Glass Box.
a) What is it?
A magic trap built by a scientist that believes in occultism [ As we can see in an example in The Secret History of Twin Peaks – Jack Parsons] with Bob Cooper’s Money[The anonymous billionare]. But do we have two billionares? Who paid half million to kill Bob? It is possible that was FBI. But, when Freddy Sykes said to James Hurley that a man in the sky said to him to go to Twin Peaks and when he arrived at the airport to buy the ticket, “the ticket were bought, already”. Who paid? Or The White Lodge Paid or they used someone to pay [ Major Garland Briggs when he was among us or the FBI. Dale Cooper knew Freddy when they met]
The White Lodge dragged Bob Cooper to the White Lodge and sent him to Twin Peaks Sheriff Departament where Freddy Sykes was arrested with his green gloves [what coincidence]. The White Lodge had everything under control all the time despite FBI, Officers, Blue Rose efforts. Gordon Cole received Ray Monroe SMS for FBI paid that Hal Million but didn’t pretend to be Jeffreis. Albert didn’t know Gordon’s plan so it was Phillip Jeffreis who called.
When Cooper tried to leave Black Lodge, a doppelganger of the Arm said “Non-Exist-ence” and he was caught by the Glass Box before sexual activity. He was sent to the Purple Sea [ The Non-Exist-Ence Place] where he was pulled out by eletricity and replaced Dougie Jones in Racho Rosa. After that, minutes later, a thing appeared when the couple were having sex.
Dougie Jones was missing several days, for he had a football bet. When he was replaced for Dale Cooper, many men were around to kill him and explode his car. They were hired by Lorraine that was hired by Duncan Todd that obeyed Bob Cooper orders to kill Dougie Jones. I believe that he was aware that The Black Lodge was agains’t him, like Mike used to be.
On Episode 6, was sent a Red Card to Duncan Todd who sent a white envelop with a black dot to a Little Man, to kill Lorraine and Dougie Jones. On Episode 5, we see Lorraine sending a message to someone named Argent that means “money” in french, that can also means Argentina. And then, a black box, a receptor turns on a red light. When Bob Cooper was in jail, he makes a call to this same receptor and then it dismantle itself.
Note: In Alchemic, the symbol of Argent is Two Twin Triangles (Twin Peaks) HERE
a.1) Dougie Jones
In Rancho Rosa, two men in a red car are awaiting for Dougie come out. A house near them [ Episode 5] has a symbol that can be encontered in the Map that leads to Black Lodge. Up above the door of that house there is Saturn Symbol [ Named Lead in Alchemical List Symbols] [you can see it here https://symbolsandmeanings.net/alchemy-symbols-signs-their-meanings-elemental-symbols-list/\]. Saturn is one of the planets needed to open Glastonbury gate [ Season 2 Episode 22] “where King Arthur where buried”.Dougie lived in the house with a red door at 25140 Lancelot Court, near Merlin's Market. On Episode 3,when Dale Cooper replaces Dougie, the symbol is a Crux and a retangle and it is the symbol of Potassium. It’s spiritual meaning is open or close gates [https://symbolsandmeanings.net/alchemy-symbols-signs-their-meanings-elemental-symbols-list/\] [ The fact that Potassium deals with the opening and closing of stomata lets me know that in a metaphysical sense it deals with communication which is an aspect of the spirit body. Stomata is the Lung of the Plants. https://ifestropicalfruitandherbdistribution.wordpress.com/metaphysical-relation-to-potassium-and-opening-and-closing-of-stomata/\]. The house with these symbols are inhabited by the drugged woman who screams one-one-nine.When asked why the woman repeats "one-one-nine,", Mark Frost merely stated that “The people who have one foot in the other world have a pronounced tendency to speak backwards."
Source: HERE
As happened before with Mrs. Chalfont and grandson, now is the drugged mother and her son. Note that they are the same design pattern “ The Giant and the Little Man”. Also we see this pattern in Otis’s house: A big man and a small one in a wheelchair.
b) The Purple- Sea or Mauve sea
The purple sea is a great, mauve-tinted body of water, home to several different supernatural beings. There is a Fortress where The Giant and Senorita Dido live. There lives Naido or Diane, Cooper’ Secretary.
This place might be inspired by the "Mauve Zone" from the writings of Kenneth Grant – A thelemist. Grant described the Mauve Zone as a self-contained world at the very edge of reality between what human beings can experience and "non-existence"[ What The Evolution of The Arm Doppelgänger said when Cooper tried to leave The Waiting Room: “ Non-Exist-Ence” Episode 2] Magical manipulations of human reality could be done there by alien beings that could be considered as monsters, it could be visited in a particular kind of sleep, it sent messages to human reality via phenomenon like UFOs and one of the main entities associated with it is called "the daughter."
Note: In Episode 3, The actress who played Ronnette Pulaski appeared in the Mauve Zone but in the credits she is named “ An American Girl”. She said to Cooper: “Be Hurry, my mother is coming.”
So, she is the image of “The Daughter”.
Grant also emphasised on the role of the nuclear bomb in an "occult revival" or increase of magical phenomena after World War II.

c) Major Garland Briggs
When Douglas Milford brought Briggs to Twin Peaks to a Very Confidencial Work he made clear that he will be the chosen one to be The Guardian of The Forest and keep his works with the Supernatural.
"Only moments ago, while writing the previous passage, Cooper called, as I had requested. He’s on his way to the house right now--the bell just rang, he’s here. Betty is letting him in…
12:05 PM MARCH 28, 1989
“He just left. Something’s wrong. The message holds the answer, just as I thought, but I’ve misinterpreted it. Protocols are in place. I must act quickly.
I’m heading to the LPA alone."
* M * A * Y * D * A * Y * - Last Page of The Secret History Of Twin Peaks
“We know that the man whom Sheriff Truman found in the sycamore grove after Agent Cooper’s disappearance was not, in fact, Agent Cooper, but his Double. We know that when Cooper’s Double checked himself out of the hospital the next day, it paid Briggs a visit at his home. We know that Briggs had been expecting a visit from his new Blue Rose “control,” after the death of Doug Milford, and he may have assumed, or even been told, that Agent Cooper was going to be that control. During the Double’s visit, Briggs became alarmed by their interaction and wrote about it in his final entry of the dossier. Given his intuitive capacities, it’s
not too great a supposition to assume that Briggs realized, at some point during their meeting, that the man in front of him was not Agent Cooper—and that this was the reason for the Mayday call that he wrote as the last words in the dossier. We can also assume Major Briggs realized that, rather than confront the Double, he’d best keep that realization to himself, but, given what we have since learned about the Double, it’s fair to suppose that it saw through Briggs’s intention.” - Major Briggs Dossier from Final Dossier.
In his autopsy , we learned that Major swallowed a ring: To Dougie with Love, Jane-e. Dougie Jones was wearing the Jade ring in his left hand.Jane-e is Diane’s younger sister – the Dale’s secretary. The ring would lead FBI’s Blue Rose Task to Dale Cooper through out Diane and find Good Cooper. Also, on Episode 8 we are told that he had a conversation with Bob Cooper, one day before his death. His wife said that he told her : “Bobby, Hawk and Sheriff Truman will appear to inquire after Dale Cooper. When it happens, give this to them.”. Clearly, Major Briggs saw many things in the future but not Dale’s Double until minutes before his death, when Dale Cooper left the Black Lodge.
Note: On Episode 7, Tammy Preston saw that Bob Cooper’s fingerprint wasn’t normal and doesn’t match with 25 years old Dale’s Fingerprint. The exact finger whose fingerprint was flipped is the “Mound Finger, The Spiritual Finger” as Gordon said. Is the Ring Finger from the left hand – To the Blue Rose Task, this finger is named VERY. When Gordon talked to Bob Cooper, he said: “ I yrev very happy to see, you my old friend”. Both Gordon and Albert noticed the Black Lodge language.
d) Are we having problems with delays on the time?
On Episode 9, we have Time issues here, for in Twin Peaks, Sheriff Truman said that October ,1st is “In two days for now” but in the same episode, in Buckhorn is September 20.
It explains that black box in Argentina where Bob and Lorraine were in touch? For they were in delayed times? I had the feeling since the beggining that things were happining on backwards but it was just a feeling. Or not….
On Episode 10, this conversation happened:
Chad: I'll bet you're a girl who appreciates a beautiful day.
Lucy: That depends on what time it is.I mean, sometimes there's not even enough time to think of anything. One time, Andy was even thinking that the clock had stopped, and then we realized that we didn't even know what time it was.It seemed like forever.
We also can see throughout the Season many delays or reverse moviments like in Episode 14, the funny situation with Wilson, the FBI guy from Las Vegas. His boss says the golden phrase: “Wilson, how many time have i told you…. That it is what we do in the FBI!!!”. You can see, while he hits the table that it reverses 4 times.
We can see delays in the face of the father whose son shot the gun in the car. Bobby Briggs saw that the boy and the father are different things. Watch it in Episode 11 on 22:22 min.
  1. Jade- The Sex Worker
If you remember, in season 2, Jade is a character of a Soap Opera. The Jade Stone is a Symbol of cure and David Lynch used Jade codiname as a reference to Madeleine while Emerald, the brightest stone, is Laura. Jade and Emerald were twins.
Jade, the Sex Worker, helped Cooper and sent his key to Twin Peaks.
She also said, when saw Twin Peaks Grand Nothearn Hotel Key and no keys of the Car: So it mean that Jade will give you two rides!
Then, they passed in a Street named Sycamore, and Cooper Said: Jade gave two rides.
Note: In Caballah, Green Colors Means VICTORY.
“The 7th Sephirot( number) of Victory, Green colored Netzach. Netzach is called victory because it’s a victory to have made it this far in emanation. The victory over the beauty of ego, the victory over the self. The victory of experience as well a positive pleasant feeling of victory over the mind. Netzach is controlled by Arch Angel Haniel.”
It probably show us that even with Laura (Emerald) and Maddie( Jade) dying, we had victory. Dale Cooper wears green while living as Dougie Jones because he is victorious.
Source: HERE
  1. Laura Palmer never died
Because of what Cooper did [ entering in his former room 315 at the Hotel Great Nothearn from where that humming sound comes from.] he changed the history of Laura. According to Final Dossier, Ronette Pulaski indeed was with Leo Johnson and Jacques Renault buT she said that Laura was at the woods and never stayed with them, for Cooper appeared in the woods [ Episode 17]. Then, she was reported as a missing person and her father commited suicide 1 year later, in her disappearence birthday. Laura never died but it doesn’t means that she never was raped by Bob or her mother isn’t Judy. Everything happened but never died.
When it happens, the scene goes to Black Lodge, when Mike asks: “Is it the future or is it the past?” and then, no Laura Palmer appears in there. Everything was rewrited.

Wing and a prayer part 2
UNSD Relentless, Medbay
Zreini shifted slightly. A hazy fog seemed to cling to her mind, wrapping her senses in a disorienting embrace. Blinking her large heavy eyelids, she glanced upwards, her gaze falling upon an unfamiliar ceiling. Confusion and a deep ache pervaded her being, exacerbated by the fact that she was no longer cloaked in her familiar flight suit. Despite the pain that rippled through her feathered body as she sat up, she couldn't suppress a groan of discomfort.
“Hey there, take it easy, you shouldn’t even be sitting up right now.” A voice gently implored her. The gravity of her situation became apparent as the extent of her injuries was made known to the young Atodine. “You have suffered a collapsed lung and internal bleeding, most likely caused by your three broken ribs.” The human attending Zrieri shook their head. “I can’t believe you managed to walk out of your ship on your own.”
The doctors, faced with their first encounter with the Atodine species, had been forced to improvise, but their efforts ultimately saved her life. The human figure standing sympathetically beside her identified himself as Matthew Parks, the supervising doctor and head surgeon who had operated blindly to save Zrieri’s life.
Momentarily bewildered by her situation, it took a moment before she realized she was understanding the alien perfectly as she could her own doctor back on Atodine Prime.
“Excuse me, how exactly can I understand you?” The uncertainty in her eyes betrayed her confusion.
“Please relax and lay back down, I’ll do what I can to explain.” Matthew said in a smooth yet authoritative voice. “We are making use of a universal translator, a small device implanted in our ears at an early age. It facilitates cross-species communication. We implanted the device into your own ears while in surgery. Apparently it was easy to program as you had already done work to translate our language.”
“Then you know where I was before I crashed into your ship.” Zrieri said softly. “Your second name indicates familial ties, yes? Are you perhaps…”
“Rory Parks, the commander of the Providence, was my grandfather.” Matthew said with a solemn nod. “Though I’m afraid I never got to meet him in life, I was born here in Alpha Centauri after The Breaking.”
Zrieri winced. There was no need to ask what Matthew meant by that. “He must have fought until the very end, and even now I feel like he stands vigil over your nest world.”
Matthew nodded. In a way it was as if their lives and fates were now inextricably linked. Furthermore, the empathetic doctor had knowledge of her profound encounter with the Providence, signaling a deeper connection between them than Zreini could have anticipated. The path ahead now shrouded in mystery, Zreini braced herself for the unfolding chapters of her life's narrative, intertwined with that of Matthew Parks and the resolute alliance forged between their species.
Zreini's attention was immediately seized by the sight of a group of men entering the medbay. Their unmistakable uniforms identified them as guards, and they were accompanied by two women.one was dressed in uniform, while other woman wore a pristine white suit. Zrieri felt more than a little uncomfortable as she was wearing nothing more than her feathers and a light blanket. For what had to be a formal first contact situation. Zreini's focus shifted to the woman in uniform as she walked towards Matthew.
"Doc, is our guest able to speak?" The woman addressed Matthew with a hint of concern in her voice.
"Yes, Cap, she can receive guests. Our bio screening indicated that there is nothing present in her system that would be harmful to her or us. And although she is still tender from her surgery, as far as I can tell she is mending well.”
“It's good to hear that. She nearly got herself killed when she crashed into our port shields." As the woman turned around and made her way towards Zrieri, she was handed a tablet by one of the guards. Engrossed in her task, she began swiping on the device while glancing down at Zreini. With a confident demeanor, she introduced herself. "Right, so welcome aboard the Relentless. I am Commander Rahy Meson, the Commanding Officer of this vessel. But first, we need to confirm something. Are you affiliated with the race known as the Rachanit? It appears that your spacecraft utilizes a Rachanit HyperDrive, and your craft seems to incorporate their technology and metallurgy."
Zreini's eyes widened in surprise and disbelief. "What? No! We are at war with them. We salvaged this drive and other components from the many battles we have had with the Rachanit. My race, the Atodine, didn't even possess FTL technology before the conflict began. We were trying to figure out how to build our own drives by observing the captured drive in my prototype craft, the Voidflyer. We were also curious about the apparent dead zone in Rachanit controlled space. The data that indicates your system of origin. Of course, you can imagine what I found when I reached the star system you once called home.” Zrieri took the almost oppressive silence as a confirmation and continued. “I found the ship called the Providence in the debris field of what had to be a great battle. From what information I found on the computer systems lead me here. I wasn’t even sure if your race still existed or not, but I had to find out.”
Commander Meson exchanged a look with the other woman in the white suit before turning back to their guest. With a slight nod she encouraged Zrieri to continue.
“Please understand, I have been dispatched here with the urgent task of finding out why the Rachanits are avoiding this region of space. Additionally, I am supposed to determine if there is a species somewhere in the galaxy capable of assisting my kind. Although we have managed to fend off their advancements so far, it appears that after each encounter, the Rachanit simply toy with us, leaving us bewildered and anxious.”By this point in the story, the woman clad in a pristine white suit had gracefully positioned herself next to the commander. Zreini shifted her gaze towards her, curious to learn more about this new arrival.
The woman extended her hand and spoke with a confident tone, "Well met, then, Zreini."
Zreini nodded in acknowledgement, reciprocating the formal greeting.
The woman continued. “My name is Michèle Hughes, I am the sitting President of the United Nations Space Defense, or UNSD.”
Meeting the captain of the vessel she was rescued by was to be expected, but meeting who Zrieri could only assume was the head of the entire human government was almost beyond belief.
“I must apologize, President Hughes, I’m a pilot, not a diplomat.”
“Zrieri, In my opinion, the best diplomats always had a real job first.” Her lips curled in a slight smile, a positive gesture from what the Atodine had gathered. “We are grateful for the information you have gathered from outside our little bubble. We have strived to remain silent and unnoticed in the years since The Breaking. We lost a great deal of our fleet, as you saw first hand.” Zrieri nodded and President Hughes continued. “Mankind had endured a period of secrecy, driven by our unwavering desire to avenge the destruction of their homeworld at the hands of the Rachanit. Over time, we have meticulously bolstered and upgraded our fleet, preparing for the day when retribution would be realized.”
“If you can assist in repairing my ship, I can return home and…”
Commander Meson shook her head. “Zrieri, there is no way I could in good conscience let you take that ship back out into space. No amount of repairs could make it spaceworthy at this point.”
“I know it is a little rude to show up unannounced, But I don’t think your government will be terribly upset if we were to give Rachanit the fiery justice they deserve.” President Hughes swiftly diverted her attention, tapping a device in her ear, presumably a communication device. "Fleet Command, it’s time to bring the pain to the bugs." With her orders communicated, she turned back to face Commander Meson, resolute in her commitment. "Commander, the Relentless will serve as our flagship, leading the charge. We shall make our way to Atodine Prime, and if our guest is well enough to leave the medical bay, she may join us on the bridge."
Meson snapped to attention, saluting the President. "Yes, ma'am," she responded dutifully. Directing her focus towards the doctor, the commander inquired, "Is our guest capable of leaving the medbay?"
The doctor lifted his gaze from the tablet he was using to monitor his patient’s vitals. Matthew considered the question for a moment before replying.
"As long as she avoids exerting herself excessively and remains in a wheelchair Zrieri should be fine."
“If I can also request something more than just a blanket to wear?” Zrieri asked in a soft voice.
“Our clothing isn’t designed to take feathers into account, but I think a hospital gown will still work for an Atodine.”
President Hughes nodded approvingly. Turning her attention to Zreini, she issued a directive with a touch of levity, "Excellent. Zreini, get yourself dressed. You'll be accompanying me."
Matthew closed the screen for privacy and helped Zrieri to get dressed and transferred to the powered wheelchair. She was unfamiliar with the medical device, but the controls were intuitive enough for the test pilot.
“For what it’s worth, one of the ship's tailors is cleaning and restoring your flight suit, so you will have real clothing when it’s time for you to disembark.”
“After what I’ve been through, I’m happy to have most of my feathers still intact. Thank you, Doc.”
Matthew smiled before retracting the screen.
"Well, then, President, Commander, lead the way." She declared confidently.
Zreini followed closely behind Commander Meson, taking caution to not run over her hosts with her chair. Her head was on a swivel, keenly observing her surroundings as the bustling crew prepared for the imminent events. The air hummed with ceaseless activity, creating an atmosphere charged with anticipation. They entered an elevator, and Zreini felt the gentle motion as it ascended. In a short span of time, the doors opened, revealing a vibrant and effervescent bridge.
The crew members were engaged in active communication, each fulfilling their designated roles with unwavering dedication. Suddenly, one of the crew members spotted Meson's entrance and promptly assumed a position of attention.
"Captain on the bridge," they announced, prompting everyone to briefly pause their activities.
Meson surveyed the scene before stepping towards the elevated chair, addressing her subordinates. "At ease, everyone. Carry on with your tasks." She then directed her attention to a man standing beside her. "Arian, have we received the coordinates for Atodine Prime?"
Arian, now adopting a more relaxed posture while retaining his professionalism, responded promptly, "Yes, ma'am. However, we are unaware of what awaits us once we arrive there."
Meson acknowledged his response with a curt nod. "Very well, since we know the location of the hyperlane point, our target is set. Zreini, I am curious if your people's fleet possesses knowledge of hyperlane points and their significance?"
Zreini glanced upwards, her eyes scanning the vast expanse of space above. “The knowledge we possess about these hyperlane points is scant at best, We know that the Rachanit use several specific points in our system to resupply and reinforce their fleet, and that there were only certain points I could take with the Voidflyier, even after I removed the lockouts for human space. Getting a better understanding of hyperdimensional travel was a significant point in my test flight.”
Meson nodded. “If you will excuse the simplification of multidimensional travel, the hyperlanes are natural travel points formed by the interplay of massive objects and their gravitational fields. Paths of least resistance, as it were. This is why they are entering your system from the same few points.”
Zrieri nodded. “I think I get the idea.”
“We managed to fight back and blockade the points in our space. Eventually the Rachanit grew tired of losing ships to our minefields and destroyers, and from what we’ve learned from you, even locked human space out of their travel computers. We are also aware they have fortified the same points on their end to prevent us from attacking.”
“The fact that you were able to fight them back to these hyperlane points says a lot about your people. We are barely keeping them out of orbit around Atodine Prime at this point.”
“We were just doing what we must. We continued to research hyperdimensional travel and we made a breakthrough. We found a way to construct our own hyperlanes. True, they collapse behind the ships after entering normal space, but it means we are not limited to a single point of entry between given systems. The tactics the Rachanit are currently using against your people proves they have not made a similar discovery. In fact, from what we have gleaned from both your data and the Rachanit components used in the Voidflier’s construction, their technology hasn’t advanced at all since they first fought us.”
“But yours has.” The reality started to sink in for Zrieri.
The humans had managed to fight back the Rachanit two generations ago, and since then they had only advanced and improved their technology while their enemy had been stagnant. In the same way the Rachanit had overpowered and outclassed all the species they conquered and devoured, the humans now outclassed them. And they had an unimaginable grudge to settle.
The seasoned commander nodded. Her eyes then shifted towards Adrian, the renowned strategist. "We must make our way to the hyperlane point," Meson declared, her voice firm and resolute. “We will cut them off from resupply and retreat. And then we hunt down and squash every last one of those damned bugs.”
Zreini felt a bit of a chill run down her spine, but felt no empathy for the Rachanit. A race that would gleefully consume chicks is not one that deserved to exist anywhere in the universe. Her beak closed tightly and Zrieri nodded back to the commander.
"Sound stations, full alert! Activate shields and arm all weapon systems. We will be going in hot and we will hit those bugs like the angry fist of god!” There was a large cheer from the bridge crew, almost enough to hurt Zrieri’s ears. “Set the course towards the Hyperlane point in the Atodine's system. There is little chance of encountering any friendly ships this far behind enemy lines, so the fleet is given permission to engage any enemy vessel. The Relentless, however, will be focusing all fire on any capital ships in range."
Zreini had expected the Relentless to travel to the border of the system from her basic understanding of how hyperdrives worked. However, instead of moving, the relentless remained where it was and opened up a corridor in front of it, like a door opening up in front of a ship.
As the blue portal opened, the helmsman called out, "Ma'am, the hypergate is stable."
“Michèle, you are the commander in chief.” Meson said tuning to the president with a grim smile.”
“Thank you, Rahy.” President Hughes smiled back. "Take us in at full speed. If the Rachantis haven't changed their ways, we're sure to catch them off guard."
The helmsman replied, "Yes, ma'am. Full speed."
The Relentless moved into the hypergate, and Zreini looked out from the bridge. Just before fully entering, she could see other human ships opening up gates and following suit.
Atodine system hyperlane point
The tense atmosphere on the bridge of the Rachanits flotilla's flagship was further heightened as the Fleet Master, a seasoned officer with years of experience, reviewed the data before him. The Rachanits ships were strategically positioned just outside the main hyperlane point, ready to engage in battle. The Fleet Master couldn't help but silently admire the avians' exceptional combat skills, acknowledging their formidable ability to put up a fight. However, he couldn't deny the futility of their efforts in the face of his own fleet's overwhelming power.
Before the fleet master could delve deeper into his thoughts about the avians' resilience, his attention was abruptly diverted as a crew member urgently reported detecting peculiar readings on the ship's port side. This was a rarity, as the crew member had never encountered anything quite like it before. Complying with his duty, albeit somewhat begrudgingly, the fleet master moved swiftly towards the station, intent on examining the enigmatic readings.
As he analyzed the data, the Fleet Master's countenance underwent a swift metamorphosis. A mix of disbelief and horror washed over his face, evident in his dramatic change of expression. All coherent thought seemed to flee from his mind as he exclaimed incredulously, unable to accept what he was witnessing.
"This can't be... they can't possibly be out here!" He declared, his voice trembling with both astonishment and fear.
In the midst of his disbelief, the Fleet Master's attention was suddenly diverted to the multiple hypergates opening. His eyes widened with an acute sense of urgency as he realized the gravity of the situation unfolding before him.
With a commanding tone, he bellowed, "No! Raise the shields!"
But his command was left hanging, unfinished, as the ship violently convulsed under the immense force of impact. A ship, dwarfing the very flagship the Fleet Master was stationed on, emerged from the hypergate with unstoppable momentum. It crashed mercilessly through the flagship, The Rachanit vessel splintered against the powerful shields as if it were nothing more than dry noodles. The Fleet Master, caught in the cataclysmic destruction of his own vessel, was unceremoniously expelled into the merciless vacuum of space, losing his life to the cold void that awaited him. As his life ebbed away, his gaze fixated on the imposing letters adorning the ship that had mercilessly cleaved his flagship in half: UNSD Relentless.
As the chaos in the vicinity escalated, even more hypergates began to materialize, heralding the arrival of additional formidable adversaries, all of which opened fire without a moment’s hesitation.
UNSD Relentless bridge
The shields, typically steady and unyielding, momentarily flickered, as if sensing an unseen disturbance. President Hughes felt a ripple of unease wash over her in response to this transient disruption. Instinctively, she scanned the control room, her eyes darting from one crew member to another in search of answers, not wanting to disrupt the commander from her duties. Eventually, her attention settled on the helmsman, hoping to find an explanation for the disconcerting blip in their otherwise flawless operation.
Without much concern, the helmsman met the president's inquisitive gaze, seemingly unaffected by the anomaly. "Oh, don’t worry about that, it was just a bug on the windshield, ma'am," he casually declared, as if attributing the brief tremor to a mundane occurrence.
Her lighthearted chuckle lightened the mood, but only slightly. As soon as the Relentless fully entered normal space Commander Meson gave the order to fire. Large anti-ship missiles rocketed out of their launch bays as laser batteries began to sweep the enemy fleet. Zrieri watched in awe as the fist of an angry god indeed slammed into the invader’s fleet. The light show only increased as more human ships entered normal space and opened fire.
President Hughes stood up from her seat. "Coms broadcast on every available frequency; we are here to aid the Atodine and have no hostile intent towards them, only the Rachanit."
This declaration exemplified both her intent to assist who would hopefully be new allies and her readiness to confront the enemy forces head-on, showcasing a blend of strategic acumen and fearless resolve in the face of adversity.
In the opening minutes of the battle the Rachanit losses were crushing, as only the most forward of vessels had their shields active as per their battle doctrine. The enemy fleet scrambled to raise shields and conduct evasive maneuvers to counter the surprise attack. In their war with the humans the Rachanit’s weapons and ships were numerous and powerful, as the wreckage orbiting Sol could attest. But in the intervening years humans had researched and worked tirelessly to upgrade and advance ships, offensive, and defensive systems.
The Rachanit , however, confident in their technological domination in every other system had only rebuilt their fleets to the same specifications. They sealed off the humans in a bubble and just pretended that no race had ever come close to matching them. And after all, they destroyed the human homeworld, what race could ever recover from that? The Rachanit may have indeed broken the Earth, but not her children.
Rachanit capital ships were exploding into space-dust while the shields of the human fleet barely even flickered against the pitiful return fire. Anti-ship missiles were destroyed by point defenses before they could even attempt to breach the shields. And then things got even worse for the invaders.
Humans were not the only race in the galaxy that wanted vengeance against the Rachanit. A portion of the fleet defending Atodine prime broke off and moved to engage the invading fleet from what had become the rear lines. After all the suffering they had received, they saw a chance to ensure the eradication of the fleet. Nimble Atodine fighters launched from carriers as their cruisers provided covering fire. They swarmed the remaining ships, their shields already greatly weakened from combat with the human fleet. Plasma bombs smashed into the hulls of the Rachanit lighter ships, severely damaging or outright destroying them.
The captains of the remaining Rachanit vessels attempted to flee the battle, but the hyperspace lane was guarded by several destroyers and cruisers and the Atodine ships pursued from behind. Not a single invading ship escaped the combined wrath of the humans and the Atodine.
On the bridge of the Relentless Zrieri watched the battle unfold with her beak agape. A part of her wondered if she had suffered a fatal injury crashing into the Relentless and this was just the last dream of her dying mind. Zrieri saw capital ships explode into dust, cruisers swatted like annoying bugs by a single blast of a laser battery. Then she saw her own people joining the fight.
Zrieri let out a cry of rage and joy at this. Of course, the screeching cry drew the attention of everyone on the bridge, as it sounded something akin to an angry hawk. Zrieri didn’t care, she cheered on her people as they swept up behind the Rachanit , herding them to ultimate destruction at the hyperlane point.
“Commander,” the coms officer called out, “The Atodine fleet is hailing us.”
Commander Meson nodded then turned to the president. “Michèle, am I taking this one or you?”
“You take this one, Rahy, I will speak to their ruling body after you get everyone calmed down after the fight.”
The commander chuckled as she stood up from her chair and moved to stand by Zrieri. “Patch us through to the Atodine Fleet.”
The main screen switched from the view of local space to an older Atodine standing front and center.
“Human vessels. I am Admiral Kaba of the Atodine Defense Forces. Please state your reason for entering Atodine space.”
“I am Commander Rahy Meson of the UNSD Relentless. I’m afraid one of your test pilots had ship trouble after entering our space, so we decided to escort her home. Of course, we had to swat a few bugs on the way.”
Kaba let out a small chirp of a laugh. “Although we are grateful for your actions today, we are more than a little wary of other races, as our first experience was with the Rachanit.”
“Ours as well.” Meson said with a solemn nod. “Mr. Riley, relay the order to the fleet. Initiate immediate power-down of all weapon systems until further notice.”
“And your shields?”
“We will drop the shields of any ships that enter the orbit of your planet, however we both know there are more Rachanit vessels out there.”
“That will be acceptable, for now. As for our test pilot.” his large eyes shifted to Zrieri in her wheelchair.
“Sir!” Zrieri snapped a salute. “Please excuse me for not standing, I suffered almost as much damage as the Voidflier.”
“Are you fit to travel by shuttle to my ship?”
“As long as my hosts allow me to keep this mobile chair.”
“We can make arrangements for Zrieri’s transfer, as well as her ship. Although it is no longer fit for space, I wouldn’t want to keep your people’s first FTL capable ship from you.”
“Thank you. All joking aside, I must ask. Why did you come to our aid?”
“Before the end of the war, or I suppose the first war now, with the Rachanit they destroyed our home world, literally shattered the planet to the core. We do not need much of an excuse to turn their ships into space junk.”
The feathers around Kaba’s neck puffed up with anger. “I thought I had heard every horror the Rachanit were capable of, yet somehow I am not completely surprised.”
“They are a plague on the galaxy, but as strong as we have become we will still need help to put an end to the threat.”
“This is quickly evolving from a defense matter to a diplomatic one. And unsurprisingly every member of the High Council is trying to reach me at this moment.
“That’s our governing body.” Zrieri informed Meson.
“Politics and diplomacy then. I will gladly hand that mess over to Michèle Hughes, President of the UNSD. While they talk, we can sort out the transfer of your lost pilot and ship.”
Kaba let out another chirp of a laugh. “That sounds like a good plan to me.”
Atodine Space Academy, West Wing
Zrieri advanced to a slide of the first diplomatic meeting between the atodine and human representatives.
“Needless to say, our second contact went much better than the first.” She paused as her students chuckled. “But what followed was just the start. The alliance between the Atodine and Humans soon grew to The Great Alliance as more races joined the fight. Some were besieged like we were, others were days away from their worlds being turned into nothing more than livestock pens.” Images flashed by and video clips played on the screen as Zrieri continued. “The alliance drove off the invading fleets, freely gave relief aid and shared the technology to make a stand against the Rachanit. Day by day their fleets were decimated and they lost access to resources and facilities as they lost entire systems in a matter of hours. They constantly fell back, whatever ships could limp back to their home system did so. After ten long cycles the Rachanit were the ones huddled around their nest world. Scared and hopeless as the vengeance of hundreds of worlds bared down on them.” Zrieri looked up at the screen behind her. “The vids can’t do the battle justice.”
“Professor? You were there?” One of her students asked.
“Of course I was there, in my old VF-77 fighter, the first one to roll off the line. We destroyed every ship, every station, every orbital and lunar defense platform. Precise strikes were made to their ground defenses, leaving nothing but caters. And then, we stopped.”
“But why stop? Why not just finish off the Rachanit?” Another student questioned.
“It was the humans who stayed the righteous fist of The Great Alliance. The only member who had their nest world completely destroyed was the one advocating against a similar action taken against the Rachanit. However, it wasn’t out of mercy. You see, just destroying them would be too easy of a punishment, the humans wanted them to suffer. So now they are contained on a single planet. Anytime they try to rebuild their infrastructure, the orbital defenses we left in place vaporize it. Without the countless worlds of sapient livestock to feed them, the Rachanit turned on themselves. Fighting and eating each other to survive. They once traveled to the stars, the most powerful empire in the galaxy, and now they struggle to survive one day to the next in a hopeless existence. Annihilating them would have been a mercy, and those damn bugs know it.”
Zrieri ended the feed to the screen. She looked out at the faces of her students. That last part always left an impact. They were gathered from all over the Great Alliance. So many different races came together to end the threat of the Rachanit. But after that was dealt with, they stayed united, working together to build a better society for all the member systems. She couldn’t help but feel pride in the part she played in all of that. She touched the platinum stylized wings that hung from her neck. They were called The Wings of Janaria; the greatest honor bestowed to a member of the Starcorps. She let out a soft sigh and focussed back on her duties as a professor.
“Are there any more questions?” She asked the students and a flurry of hands were raised.
Before she could call on anyone, the chimes noting the end of the period played out loudly.
“Ah, looks like we are out of time for today. I will see you in two days and we can continue then with your questions. Class dismissed.”

2024.05.09 19:33 theultimatepodcast Comparing my way-too-early 2024 mock draft to the actual draft

If you want to check out the full article, you can do so here: https://withthefirstpick.com/posts/chris-mcglynn-comparing-my-way-too-early-mock-draft-to-the-2024-nfl-draft-01hx04j216sc
History is usually not too kind way-too-early mock drafts. Spencer Rattler, Eli Ricks and many more have opened the draft cycle as highly-touted prospects who failed to live up to expectations. Many more have seen their "stock fall" in large part because their tape is put under the microscope, revealing that they never should have been that highly regarded in the first place.
And so, it is time for one of my favorite exercises. I am taking my way-too-early mock draft for 2024 and comparing it to what happened at the draft in Detroit. It is a great way to see how much has changed in a year. Several prospects lived up to the hype, many more fell off and others still came from way off the radar to be high draft picks.
1. Way-too-early pick: Arizona Cardinals - Caleb Williams, QB, USC Actual draft pick: Chicago Bears via Carolina Panthers - Caleb Williams, QB, USC
This one should come as no surprise. Williams was seen as the top quarterback in this draft from the very beginning, and while some will argue Drake Maye was worthy of the top pick, there was never really any doubt that Williams would be the first selection. Turns out the Cardinals were a bit better than we all expected and the first year of the Bryce Young experience was a bitter disappointment.
2. Way-too-early pick: Arizona Cardinals via Houston Texans - Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State Actual draft pick: Washington Commanders - Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
Remember when we all thought the Cardinals could have the top two picks in the draft? Don't blame me, blame the sportsbooks. Turns out the Texans were way better in C.J. Stroud's and DeMeco Ryans’ debut campaign. Still, the Cardinals did wind up taking Harrison, just at No. 4, not No. 2. As for Daniels, he was a player I was really excited about heading into the 2024 draft cycle, but I did not have him in the first round of this mock. He took a huge step as a passer and leader in his second season at LSU, propelling him into this spot.
3. Way-too-early pick: Indianapolis Colts - Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State Actual draft pick: New England Patriots - Drake Maye, QB, UNC
Fashanu entered the 2024 in a fierce competition for Joe Alt for the top tackle spot. Alt took some major strides in 2023. Fashanu had the same issues pop up regarding his play strength and overall power. In the end, Fashanu still wound up going in the top half of the first round. For the Colts, expectations were low after drafting Anthony Richardson. Even when the No. 4 pick in the 2023 draft went down, Shane Steichen got this team to compete and really turned the outlook for Indianapolis around heading into 2024. We will talk more about Maye in just a moment.
4. Way-too-early pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Drake Maye, QB, UNC Actual draft pick: Arizona Cardinals - Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
I will admit, I did not see Baker Mayfield leading the Buccaneers to the playoffs and landing a big extension in the offseason. Let's remember that he opened training camp in a quarterback battle with Kyle Trask! That was put to bed quickly, Tampa wound up winning the division and knocking out Philly in the wildcard round before falling short against the Lions. Maye came into the cycle with a top of hype, but ultimately had an uneven year with a worse supporting cast. I believe in his upside, but he is a bit of a project as he heads to New England. Harrison was my top player on the board heading all the way back in May of 2023. That never changed and he was the first non-quarterback off the board.
5. Way-too-early pick: Tennessee Titans - Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia Actual draft pick: Los Angeles Chargers - Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
Bowers was a known quantity heading into this draft cycle. Injuries and a lengthy debate about his positional value pushed him down the board. He might be the best tight end prospect we have had in nearly two decades, but given the lackluster impact of Kyle Pitts so far (more of a coaching issue than a talent issue it seems), teams backed off taking Bowers so early. Alt, who I mentioned before when talking about Fashanu, was seen as a top-10 candidate given his size, length and experience. He made some small improvements as a pass blocker in 2023, which I think gave him the edge over the rest of the tackles in the draft class.
6. Way-too-early pick: Washington Commanders - Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas Actual draft pick: New York Giants - Malik Nabers, WR, LSU We have found our first major outlier from the way-too-early mock. Ewers had an up-and-down season, ultimately deciding to return to Austin for his senior year. I clearly learned nothing from this exercise, because I projected Ewers at No. 6 in my 2025 way-too-early mock, coincidentally to the Giants. Meanwhile, Nabers put together another impressive season, leading to months of debate as to who WR1 in this class truly was. I stuck with Harrison, but Nabers was one of the highest graded players I scouted in this draft cycle. He has superstar potential in New York.
7. Way-too-early pick: Atlanta Falcons - Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State Actual draft pick: Tennessee Titans - J.C. Latham, OT, Alabama
I promise, I am not trying to draw anymore attention to the fact that we all expected the Falcons to draft an edge rusher in the top 10. We all know by now what Atlanta opted to do instead, so let's focus on Verse. He had top-15 buzz in the 2023 draft, but returned to school for one more season. I don't know that it hurt him in any way, because there is a chance a deeper dive into his film and the pre-draft process could have seen him slip down the board a bit. He had another impressive year at Florida State and wound up going inside the top-20 to the Rams. As for Latham, this was the first real reach of the draft for me. I think he is a bit raw and I have questions about his ability to thrive at tackle in the NFL in general, much less making the switch to playing left tackle. He goes to a great situation with Bill Calahan to lead his development, but this is a risky proposition to say the least.
8. Way-too-early pick: Chicago Bears via Carolina Panthers - Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame Actual draft pick: Atlanta Falcons - Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington
This was the biggest stunner of the draft. We have picked apart why that is ad nauseam by this point. Let's talk more about Penix. He was iffy to be a first-round pick, much less a top-10 selection last summer. He was still only a year removed from an injury-plagued career at Indiana at that point. This is an interesting position for him to land in, but I am a big fan of the player.
9. Way-too-early pick: Los Angeles Rams - Bo Nix, QB, Oregon Actual draft pick: Chicago Bears - Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
I was a bit too high on Nix heading into the 2023 season, but this wound up being only three spots earlier than he was actually selected. I thought he would have been a good candidate to eventually replace Matthew Stafford, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons. Los Angeles still has not identified an heir apparent, but the Rams also had a much better season than this projection expected. The Bears ended up in this slot, taking one of the most entertaining players in college football in Odunze, who I had mocked just a little later on. He will form a terrifying trio with Keenan Allen and D.J. Moore in Chicago.
10. Way-too-early pick: New England Patriots - Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State Actual draft pick: Minnesota Vikings via New York Jets - J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan
There is a lot to unpack here. For starters, Egbuka had an injury-riddled year and wound up returning to school. He figures to be in the conversation to go in the first round in 2025. The Patriots had a much worse season than this, thanks in part to Mac Jones flaming out. Then there is McCarthy. He was not talked about a ton as a legitimate candidate to be drafted. He had shown flashes as a true sophomore, but keep in mind that he wasn't the designated starter to open the 2022 season. That was Cade McNamara. He saw a massive jump in his completion percentage and made big plays in key moments as Michigan won a national championship. He is going to need some seasoning and it will be interesting to see what happens when he is asked to be more than a game manager. The talent is there and this is a great landing spot for him under Kevin O'Connell.
11. Way-too-early pick: Pittsburgh Steelers - Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama Actual draft pick: New York Jets via Minnesota Vikings - Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State
McKinstry was the top corner on my radar heading into the 2023 season. He had his moments of brilliance, but struggled at points too, specifically against Adonai Mitchell. Additionally, his medical exam at the NFL combine revealed a Jones fracture in his foot, which likely pushed him down boards slightly. He landed in the second round with the Saints on draft day and has every chance to earn a starting spot.
12. Way-too-early pick: Las Vegas Raiders - Kalen King, CB, Penn State Actual draft pick: Denver Broncos - Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
This projection did not work out well. King had a rocky 2023 campaign, highlighted by a really rough showing against Marvin Harrison Jr. A poor pre-draft process, including subpar measurables and testing numbers saw King slide all the way to the seventh round. Perhaps he will bounce back and recapture some of his 2022 form in Green Bay, but his draft stock tanked throughout the season. For the Raiders, corner was and still is a need for them, but they opted to offense early before taking Decamerion Richardson in the fourth round.
13. Way-too-early pick: Chicago Bears - Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA Actual draft pick: Las Vegas Raiders - Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
Latu was one of my favorite prospects throughout the draft process. He was my highest rated defender heading into the draft and ended up being the first defender selected just a couple picks after this spot. He is about as technical a pass rusher we have ever seen coming out of college. Chicago chose to go offense instead with its two first round picks, but Latu would have been an excellent fit across from Montez Sweat.
14. Way-too-early pick: Green Bay Packers - J.C. Latham, OT, Alabama Actual draft pick: New Orleans Saints - Tailese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State
Turns out, Jordan Love was a lot better than we anticipated and the Packers were picking nowhere near this point. Latham actually came off the board before this point, so the Saints turned to Fuaga instead. He was a major riser this season, hat tip to Trevor Sikkema for championing him earlier than anyone else I can remember. His fluid movement skills for a player his size makes him an intriguing option to eventually flip to left tackle in the NFL.
15. Way-too-early pick: New York Giants - Rome Odunze, WR, Washington Actual draft pick: Indianapolis Colts - Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA
It was no secret the Giants needed wide receiver help. We knew that way back in May of 2023. New York's season ended up going much worse than this, with Daniel Jones struggling early before suffering a season-ending injury. The Giants were actually heavily linked to Odunze throughout the draft process and he would have been a great fit.
16. Way-too-early pick: Seattle Seahawks - Jer'Zhan Newton, DL, Illinois Actual draft pick: Seattle Seahawks - Byron Murphy, DL, Texas
Clearly, the sportsbooks nailed this one. I will give myself some partial credit here as well. Seattle needed defensive line help in a big way. They traded for Leonard Williams at the deadline and still wound up selecting Murphy on draft day. Newton wound up sliding into the second round, which surprised a lot of analysts. He had a great season for Illinois and looked like a first-round pick, even if not quite this high. Meanwhile, Murphy lands in a perfect situation to thrive at the NFL level.
17. Way-too-early pick: Minnesota Vikings - Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama Actual draft pick: Minnesota Vikings via Jacksonville Jaguars - Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama
It's better to be lucky than good. I would love to take credit here for projecting a first draft pick nearly a year ahead of time, but I think this is an excellent illustration of how difficult it is to predict what will happen in the NFL draft. I had Turner as the third edge rusher off the board in my way-too-early mock, behind Verse and Latu. When the draft actually rolled around, I expected Turner to be the first edge rusher selected, likely in the top 10. A historic run on offensive players pushed him down the board to this point. He had a really strong 2023 season and has elite athleticism. His ceiling is incredibly high at the next level.
18. Way-too-early pick: Denver Broncos - Maason Smith, DL, LSU Actual draft pick: Cincinnati Bengals - Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
Smith was such a projection pick this early in the process. Then again, I guess every pick was. Anyway, Smith is such a rare athletic talent, but he was coming off a torn ACL this past season. He had a fine season, but nothing that warranted a first-round selection. He landed in the second round with the Jaguars. Perhaps, Smith will look even better two years removed from his injury. On the other hand, we have Mims, who is still a relative unknown. He has ideal traits and size to be a high-level starter in the NFL. However, due to injuries and talent ahead of him at Georgia, he only has eight collegiate starts. He will essentially get a redshirt year in Cincinnati, assuming Trent Brown can stay healthy, before likely taking over at right tackle in 2025.
19. Way-too-early pick: New Orleans Saints - J.T. Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio State Actual draft pick: Los Angeles Rams - Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State
Ohio State messed with a lot of the depth in this draft class, bringing back a ton of draft eligible talent for another run. Tuimoloau is a strong player, but he hasn't really shown much development as a pass rusher. He has 12 career sacks in three seasons, and it is not for a lack of opportunity or playing time. For what it is worth, I did not include him in my way-too-early mock for 2025. I think he projects more as a Day 2 rotational player than a potentially impact starter.
20. Way-too-early pick: Houston Texans via Cleveland Browns - Jeremiah Trotter Jr., LB, Clemson Actual draft pick: Pittsburgh Steelers - Troy Fautanu, OT, Washington
It turns out, we might have overrated the Clemson defense a little bit. Trotter is a fun player, flying around and getting to the ball, but he is undersized and lacks the ideal agility required to start at the NFL level. I will say, I do love that he landed with the Eagles, where his dad spent the majority of his career. While Trotter's stock slipped throughout the season, Fautanu's skyrocketed. Thought by most to be a guard, he put those questions to rest at the combine, measuring in with longer arms than Joe Alt. He is a brawler with great play strength. He fits Pittsburgh so well and has the potential to be the team's long-term starter at left tackle.
21. Way-too-early pick: Los Angeles Chargers - Ja'Tavion Sanders, TE, Texas Actual draft pick: Miami Dolphins - Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
When you look at where the Chargers were expected to be picking and then compare it to where they actually picked, you get a pretty clear picture as to why Brandon Staley was fired. Los Angeles is still in need of a tight end, with Will Dissley and Hayden Hurst the top two options at the position, but that will wait until next year, maybe until when Jim Harbaugh can draft Colston Loveland. Sanders wound up sliding all the way to the fourth round, which felt a bit harsh for a player as dynamic in space at the position. That being said, first round was too rich a projection as well. He lacks physicality and struggles as a blocker. As for Robinson, I did not have him in my way-too-early mock. I watched him against Ohio State in 2022 and did not see a first-round talent. I was low on Robinson throughout the process and thought this was a little earlier than he should have gone. He is a great athlete, but he is unrefined and had little production at Penn State.
22. Way-too-early pick: Miami Dolphins - Raheim Sanders, RB, Arkansas Actual draft pick: Philadelphia Eagles - Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
This one did not pan out so well for me. I loved Sanders coming into the process. He had over 1,700 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns for Arkansas in 2022. He followed that up 284 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in just six games due to injury. His yards per attempt also plummeted from 6.5 to 3.4. He wound up transferring to South Carolina. We will see if he can bounce back and get himself back into top 100 consideration for 2025. Meanwhile, Mitchell went the other direction. He was a small school star with some consideration, but he proved he could contend at the Senior Bowl and wound up being the first corner selected. He could be a Day 1 starter in Philly.
23. Way-too-early pick: Jacksonville Jaguars - Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa Actual draft pick: Jacksonville Jaguars via Minnesota Vikings & Houston Texans - Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU
The Jaguars ended up picking here after a trade down with the Vikings. DeJean inexplicably slid out of the first round, but he was definitely a first-round talent. Even after suffering a season-ending injury at Iowa, he returned for a great pre-draft workout and his tape is first-round caliber. He landed with the Eagles in the second round. Thomas benefitted from Jayden Daniels' Heisman season and a clear spot in the starting lineup. He entered the 2023 season with 770 yards and seven touchdowns through his first two years combined. He posted 1,177 yards and an FBS-leading 17 touchdowns in a monster breakout season. He will be a great field-stretching option in Jacksonville.
24. Way-too-early pick: Detroit Lions - Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State Actual draft pick: Detroit Lions via Dallas Cowboys - Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama
The offseason hype around the Lions turned out to be warranted. Detroit had to trade up to pick at No. 24. They took Arnold, which fills a huge void on their defense. He is a hard-nosed tackler with good ball skills. He started the year in Kool-Aid McKinstry's proverbial draft shadow, but ended up surpassing his teammate by the time the draft rolled around. Meanwhile, Sawyer, like J.T. Tuimoloau, returned to school for another year. He is similar in that he has great strength, but lacks the production to go with it. He has a future as an edge setting defender, but he does not generate enough pressure to warrant first-round consideration heading into the 2024 season.
25. Way-too-early pick: Baltimore Ravens - Michael Hall Jr., DL, Ohio State Actual draft pick: Green Bay Packers - Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona
It is funny now to look back and think the Ravens had a pressing need at defensive tackle. Justin Madubuike had a breakout year with 13 sacks that resulted in All-Pro honors, a Pro Bowl spot and a massive contract extension. Hall wouldn't have been the pick anyway. He is a great interior pass rusher, but is undersized and struggles to win consistently at the point of attack. He landed with Cleveland in the second round. Regarding the pick that did happen, Morgan looked much sharper in his second year removed from a torn ACL suffered in 2021. There are some concerns about his length when it comes to his ability to play tackle in the NFL, but the Packers have never shied away from moving college tackles into interior offensive line spots.
26. Way-too-early pick: Dallas Cowboys - TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State Actual draft pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Graham Barton, OL, Duke
Projecting an Ohio State running back to the Cowboys isn't the worst thing I could have done. Dallas still desperately needs running back help after passing on the position entirely. Henderson returned to Columbus for another year after an inconsistent season and will compete for touches in a backfield that now features Ole Miss transfer Quinshon Judkins. Barton is another college offensive tackle whose future lies on the interior of the offensive line at the NFL level. He was on the radar, but had a great pre-draft process to push him into the first round.
27. Way-too-early pick: Green Bay Packers via New York Jets - Andrew Mukuba, S, Clemson Actual draft pick: Arizona Cardinals - Darius Robinson, DL, Missouri
Mukuba had a lot of traction heading into the season, but injuries led him to returning to school and transferring to his hometown team in Austin. The Packers had a clear need at safety as well, signing Xavier McKinney to a big deal this offseason. As a Jets fan, just a quick moment to savor when the Jets were thought to be Super Bowl contenders with Aaron Rodgers, which is why this pick was projected to belong to the Packers. For Robinson, this was a surprising rise for a player with very little production or fanfare heading into the season. He broke out with 8.5 sacks and then had a phenomenal week at the Senior Bowl. This was still a bit early for my liking, but he has the versatility and power to hang around the league for a long time.
28. Way-too-early pick: Cincinnati Bengals - Calen Bullock, S, USC Actual draft pick: Kansas City Chiefs via Buffalo Bills - Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas
Bullock is a ball-hawking safety with excellent ball production from his time at USC. However, one of the biggest issues for him, and most of the USC defense, was his inability to tackle. A big part of that is that at 188 pounds, he is in the second percentile for weight at the safety position. He wound up landing with Houston in the third round as a result. Meanwhile, the Chiefs traded up with the Bills again to land a speedster at wide receiver. More on Worthy in just a second.
29. Way-too-early pick: Buffalo Bills - Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas Actual draft pick: Dallas Cowboys via Detroit Lions - Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
Oh how close this was to actually happening. Worthy was on the board for the Bills at 28 and they needed a receiver in a bad way. Instead, Buffalo traded down and Worthy is now the newest weapon for Patrick Mahomes. The Texas star has a very slight frame, but broke the 40-yard dash record at the combine this year. He will change how teams have to defend Kansas City. His draft stock clearly did not shift a whole lot from where he was initially projected to where he landed. The same cannot be said for Guyton. He was not really in the conversation heading into the 2023 season, but he has exciting intangibles despite his lack of experience. In a couple years, he could look like a steal at this spot.
30. Way-too-early pick: San Francisco 49ers - Akheem Mesidor, DL, Miami Actual draft pick: Baltimore Ravens - Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson
Mesidor remains a prospect I will be watching closely for the 2025 draft. He had a great first season with Miami in 2022 after transferring from West Virginia. Unfortunately, he suffered a season-ending injury just three games into the 2023 season. I did not have Wiggins in my way-too-early mock, and in retrospect, I probably should have. He was the Clemson defender I overlooked. He has great speed, impressive effort and top-tier ball skills. He lasted to the end of the round because of his slight frame and questionable tackling in space. I have no doubt Baltimore will find a way to get the most out of him.
31. Way-too-early pick: Philadelphia Eagles - Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU Actual draft pick: San Francisco 49ers - Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida
Philly picked much earlier than this on draft day as their Super Bowl hangover finally hit in the second half of the season. I was high on Suamataia heading into the season, but he still has a bit of a ways to go from a development standpoint to make it to be a starter. He landed with the Chiefs in the second round. The 49ers got back to the Super Bowl, but fell short and John Lynch decided he wanted more firepower on offense. Whether this means Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel is on the way out or not, Pearsall should have a role in this offense early. He is a reliable playmaker with inside-outside versatility.
32. Way-too-early pick: Kansas City Chiefs - Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon Actual draft pick: Carolina Panthers via Buffalo Bills & Kansas City Chiefs - Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina
The Chiefs did wind up selecting a wide receiver in the first round, just not Franklin. It was a bit of a shock to see Franklin slide as far as he did. He was not a first-round talent as I had initially thought, but I figured he would go mid-to-late second round, not in the early fourth. He was very productive at Oregon, but a slight frame and small hands likely pushed him down draft boards. That being said, I like his landing spot with his college quarterback in Denver. On the other hand, Leggette was on no one's radar heading into the season. In his first four seasons at South Carolina, he was largely a special teamer with 423 career receiving yards. He exploded with 1,255 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He is a hometown kid with a chance to play a major role in his first season. He should be one of Bryce Young's top targets this year.

2 SNS-001 Consoles For Parts/Not Working 2 For Parts/Not Working consoles that have been broken down, including one housing (has some chips/cracks), 2 motherboards, all components, however some are guaranteed to not work. The boards themselves may have additional issues beyond the removed chips, I have no way to test or check them. Neither of these motherboards work. Both of them were giving different graphical issues on the screen, so I thought I'd be clever and try to swap some chips around, but found out as I was doing it that I have no experience with it and was in way over my head. I do not know if there are working chips here to even create one working SNES, as far as I'm aware all of the graphics chips/etc. are bad. Pics here $35
