Compilation of fan reports from 240604 Onew's GUESS! Fanmeeting in Osaka

2024.06.04 18:09 julinay Compilation of fan reports from 240604 Onew's GUESS! Fanmeeting in Osaka

Thought I'd put together a compilation of fan reports about Jinki's fanmeeting in Osaka today! As most of us know, Japanese events are generally super strict about sharing any photo or video, so all we've got to go on is super nice people sharing their experience in tweets.
Jinki MCed the fanmeet himself in Japanese (with an assistant on stage that he occasionally used like Papago lmao), and shared a lot about what he did while he was in Japan during his hiatus. Today's event was held in the Osaka International Convention Center, where max capacity is 2,754 - looks like it was fully sold out. 👍 Tomorrow's will be in the same venue!
Disclaimer: I know Japanese, but to save time, and because I'm very lazy, if there's no translation already I'm generally going with the Google Translate version of tweets after making sure it's correct. Tweets in no particular order.
Let's go!

Prior to the fanmeet:
Fanmeet:
TL;DR: Jinki comes by his power thighs honestly (backpacking around Japan), his Japanese is really good, and along with being the Dance God Dance King he's also the Rap King now. 😤

    Gameplay and Investment

Abilities

All Subclasses
  • All Super abilities now use the same damage-based recharge parameters.
    • Previously, energy gained through damage dealt and received was scaled based on the passive recharge rate of the Super, resulting in a broader delta between long-recharge Supers and short-recharge Supers than intended.
    • This will, for example, bring the real-world uptime of Ward of Dawn and Well of Radiance closer to the uptime of a Super like Arc Staff or Fists of Havoc.
Arc Subclasses
  • Arcstrider
    • Arc Staff:
      • Heavy palm strike attacks and heavy air slam blind enemies.
    • Disorienting Blow:
      • Decreased base cooldown time from 100 seconds to 90 seconds.
    • Tempest Strike:
      • Added additional damage resistance vs. PvE combatants when activated, lingering for a short duration after the attack.
  • Striker
    • Knockout
      • Increased bonus damage granted to powered melee attacks vs. PvE combatants from 25% to 50%.
      • Reworked healing behavior:
      • No longer unstuns health regeneration on melee defeats. Now instantly grants a chunk of healing that scales with the type of target defeated.
        • Player: 30 health points.
        • Minor combatant: 50 health points.
        • Major combatant: 75 health points.
        • Champion+ combatant: 100 health points.
    • Touch of Thunder
      • Lightning Grenade:
        • Now applies Jolt after the first damage event, rather than prior.
        • This means that the Jolt won't instantly pop on application, and attackers will need to either wait for the second lightning burst from the grenade or deal additional damage via other means to trigger the Jolt's chain lightning.
      • Storm Grenade:
        • Increased tracking travel speed when targeting PvE combatants by between 0.5 and 1 meters per second, increasing with the storm’s lifetime.
    • Thunderclap
      • Added additional damage resistance vs. PvE combatants when activated, lingering for a short duration after the attack.
      • Increased minimum damage vs. PvE combatants by 20%.
      • Increased maximum damage vs. PvE combatants by 33%.
      • Increased maximum damage vs. enemy players by 14%.
  • Stormcaller
    • Lightning Surge
      • Added additional damage resistance vs. PvE combatants when activated, lingering for a short duration after the attack.
      • This is intended to help players survive during the final lightning strike performance until the player returns to first person and can maneuver out of danger
    • Ball Lightning
      • Increased the final arming shape size by 30%.
      • Fixed an issue where the arming shape was offset upward, higher than the maximum damage range of the projectile’s detonation.
    • Chain Lightning
      • Increased secondary chain projectile’s base damage from 27 to 54.
  • Arc Grenades
    • Storm Grenade:
      • Increased damage vs. PvE combatants by 20%.

    • Skip Grenade:
      • Increased damage vs. PvE combatants by 15%.
    • Arcbolt Grenade:
      • Increased damage vs. PvE combatants by 15%.
  • Arc Fragments
    • Spark of Recharge:
      • Ability regeneration bonus now persists until the player returns to full shields, rather than deactivating as soon as shields begin to recharge.
    • Spark of Beacons:
      • Now also triggers on defeating targets with Arc Power ammo weapons while amplified.
    • Spark of Frequency:
      • Now also grants 15 weapon stability on powered melee hit, in addition to its reload benefit.

    • Restoration
      • Restoration’s full-body visual effects now reduce their intensity while the player's Super is active.
    • Cure
      • Cure's healing now takes place over 0.1 seconds rather than instantly.

  • Gunslinger
    • Lightweight Knife
      • Now has 2 melee charges by default.
      • Increased throw animation speed by 33%.
      • Reduced suppression time between throws, so both knives can be thrown very quickly back-to-back.
      • The additional melee charge does not stack with Ophidia Spathe, due to the Exotic’s unique energy recharge behavior. We’ll be monitoring this and evaluating how things are playing once things go live.
    • Knock 'Em Down
      • Reduced internal cooldown on throwing knife refund from 1 second to 0.2 seconds.
    • Gunpowder Gamble
      • Fixed an issue where Gunpowder Gamble was unable to damage Strand Tangles.
    • Golden Gun - Marksman

        • If the projectile detonates after the first 0.7 seconds of its lifetime, it now creates 6 shrapnel, up from 5.
        • When Sol Invictus is equipped, only 3 shrapnel submunitions are created, regardless of flight time.
      • Shrapnel submunitions now deal additional damage when Sol Invictus is not equipped, with the damage increasing after the first 0.7 seconds of the projectile's lifetime.
  • Dawnblade
    • Heat Rises
      • Fixed an issue where throwing some grenades while Heat Rises was equipped would produce Void visual effects on the player's hands during the throw.

  • Nightstalker
    • Snare Bomb
      • Increased linger duration of smoke after detonation from 3 seconds to 5 seconds.
      • Now applies small damage over time to enemies in the smoke, which increases in strength the longer they remain in the smoke.

      • Increased damage vs. PvE targets by 20%.
    • Ward of Dawn:
      • Armor of Light:
        • Removed Armor of Light overshield. Ward of Dawn now immediately applies a full Void Overshield to the caster and allies that enter its dome.
        • Armor of Light now instead grants additional damage resistance to players inside the Ward of Dawn:30% vs. enemy players and 60% vs. enemy combatants.
        • Effective health of players inside the Ward of Dawn dome remains roughly the same as it was before vs. PvE combatants.
        • Effective health of players inside the Ward of Dawn is significantly lower than it was before vs.other players in PvP, and cannot be further increased by stacking Bastion Barricades inside the Ward to gain additional Overshield layers.
        • No longer provides Weapons of Light by default. This behavior has been moved to the benefits of Helm of Saint-14.
        • Allies near the Ward of Dawn dome now have Void Overshield trickled on over time, similar to the volume behind a Bastion barricade.
        • This trickle rate is reduced in PvP activities.
        • The Ward of Dawn caster can now generate additional Orbs of Power by defeating enemies with melee attacks in or near their Ward of Dawn dome. Up to a maximum of 5.
    • Offensive Bulwark
      • Can now only extend Void Overshield’s timer to its normal maximum duration, to prevent an issue where players could get into a bad timer state.

        • Fixed an issue where the linger visual effects were shutting off early.
    • Void Grenades
      • Suppressor Grenade
        • Damage radius now matches Suppression radius.
        • This does not meaningfully change the damage profile of the grenade but is intended to provide additional feedback to the player when they have successfully Suppressed a target.
      • Voidwall Grenade
        • Fixed an issue where the central damage volume was offset significantly lower than the left and right volumes.
    • Void Fragments

        • This is a cosmetic-only change to keep the cooldown visible even while not holding a weapon that benefits from its damage boost.

      • Now triggers an effect based on the equipped Super element, instead of the equipped subclass.

      • Increased minimum damage vs. PvE combatants by 20%.
      • Increased maximum damage vs. PvE combatants by 33%.

      • Slightly increased gravity and decreased thrust speed with each bounce.

        • Fixed an issue where the linger visual effects were shutting off early.
    • Void Grenades
      • Suppressor Grenade
        • Damage radius now matches Suppression radius.
        • This does not meaningfully change the damage profile of the grenade but is intended to provide additional feedback to the player when they have successfully Suppressed a target.
      • Voidwall Grenade
        • Fixed an issue where the central damage volume was offset significantly lower than the left and right volumes.

    • Severance Enclosure
      • Now requires the player to expend a melee charge (or defeat an enemy via a finisher) to activate.

2024.06.04 18:00 corroserum HOT TAKE: Baxcalibur is horribly designed.

I have never seen a pokemon this badly designed before. It's body has no texture at all apart from the poorly drawn scales that it has on it's belly and for some reason, its kneecaps? Its' fin on the spin just looks completely horrible and looks like someone photoshoped it on for no reason at all apart from trying to make it look more "dino-y". The face is the worst part. The spikiness feels so distant from it's smooth skin and I don't understand why at all the designers choose to have it that way. It's hands and feet are so uninteresting, There is nothing I can say about it's hands apart from the red fin that is oddly sticking out. You could slap those arms onto any mon and it will work. It's feet is generic too. Just some claws and the kneecap I mentioned above. It's tail is horribly designed and looks so ugly.
AND, its a pseudo legendary... I've never seen a mon this badly designed and even worse, a pseudo legendary. Dragonite has its signature fat belly, legs and the little antennas above its head. Tyranitar is a dinosaur pokemon taken to it's extreme with the spikes and the armor looking shell. Salamence is a menace and the spikes on his face feels actually impactful with the long tail and giant wings. Garchomp is a beast that has the ability to function like a jet plane, even its head looks so cool. Hydreigon makes the concept of being three headed a lot more interesting as its evolutions. Goodra is just cute. Kommo-o's scales is what makes it stand out, and Dragapult's jet shaped head with those little Dreepys living in it gives it that much more life.
And what does Baxcalibur have? Nothing. Just a worse Tyrantrum.
TLDR: Baxcalibur looks horrible and this is just a complain post about how we didn't get a cool pseudo legendary.

2024.06.04 18:00 ThrowRAForgets In long distance relationship with forgetful ADHD bf: How do I keep myself from growing resentful and deal with things healthily?

I need some advice on a situation that's been eating away at me this morning. My boyfriend (BF) and I have been in a long-distance relationship for over a year. We communicate well, but lately there's been a situation that has made me feel a little unappreciated and a little embarrassed.
So: We went on a trip together about 2 months ago with some friends, and I would've loved for him to post a picture of us on social media. It wasn't just about the picture itself, but more about wanting him to publicly show he's proud to be with me, especially since there's an old picture with his ex still up and nothing of me. We had also talked about posting each other in socials before, since I posted him periodically and originally really wanted him to also do it himself out of his own initiative, but I realized I was being unreasonable by not expressing my needs and we talked about it. He listened and said he understood and agreed and wanted me to feel secure and wanted to do it as well. I thought that the trip was an awesome opportunity since everyone on the trip got some great pics with the group and their partners and we got some nice ones too.
I mentioned again how much it would mean to me, and he agreed to post something from the trip. Weeks went by, and after several reminders, it still didn't happen. Yesterday, after 2 months, he said he was planning on doing it that afternoon, but he didn't. I feel like the problem is most likely that my BF is forgetful due to his ADHD since he's a genuinely great guy and he struggled with it a lot plus he has a had a lot going on lately. But still, now I feel badgering, a little resentful, and honestly embarrassed.
Part of me doesn't even want him to post a pic of us anymore because it feels forced, a result of my nagging and our repeated conversations about it, instead of a genuine gesture. The whole situation has made me question his commitment to listening and following through with meeting my needs and left me feeling worried about any future situations that may arise. I know ADHD is tough (I have it too) but the issue persists even when he's in his meds and i would just like him to at least try using tools like reminders on his phone to remember things that matter to him and that would help our relationship.
Before the trip, he told me he wanted to overcome his social media anxiety and post more was was planning on it soon. That's great, but why wouldn't a picture with me be part of that effort?
I've already talked to him about how it's hard for me to feel my needs are being met while long distance, but this whole thing has left me feeling like he doesn't really get how to follow through.
There have also been 1 or 2 other instance where we talked about other things I'd like to meet my needs and there was not much follow through from him. I do feel like he is genuinely trying but I still feel pretty shitty having to be the one that remembers everything, etc.
I dont want resentment to build but having this same conversation repeatedly is wearing me out.
My questions for you reddit people are: Am I being unreasonable?
Is it wrong to want him to show me off a little, even online?
How do I deal with the resentment I feel from having to ask repeatedly?
Any ideas of ways he can express his love in a long-distance relationship that might feel more genuine?
How do I go about talking about this more in a way that is sensitive to his ADHD but expresses my feelings too?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
TLDR: BF forgets things a lot bc of his ADHD. He promised to post a pic from our trip 2 months ago but keeps forgetting, which I wanted him to do since I want to feel like he's proud of being with me, esp since he still has a pic up with his ex. Feels forced now and embarrassing for me to keep reminding & makes me question his commitment to listening to me and following through. This is the most recent of a few issues regarding forgetfullness that makes me feel not prioritized. Need advice on avoiding resentment and communicating how I feel in an understanding way.

2024.06.04 17:59 ThrowRA8008888888 I (38M) was seeing a woman (32F) for 2 months. We've been trying to arrange the next date but we've both been legitimately busy. The last time i asked, she told me her mom had died and haven't heard from her since, but she is active on social media and actively updating her dating profile. Suspect?

So i matched with this person about two months ago on a dating app and we went on four great dates over a span of a month. We had great chemistry, great conversations, and she seemed really into me. There was physical affection shown as well (kissing, hugging, handholding). At the end of the fourth date, she invited me over to her place for dinner for our next date. So I'm thinking things are going well but then the next week rolls around and she cancels because she said she had gotten sick. Ok, no biggie. I tell her to feel better and we can reschedule. Unfortunately, this meant i wouldn't be seeing her for another two weeks because i'd be away for work. We maintained some contact during this time and she reiterated how she couldn't wait to see me again. She asks me to send her selfies and pics of my trip and i oblige. I asked her if i could see her the weekend i returned but she told me that she herself had to go away for work for a week. I'm a bit bummed out as this would make it three weeks without seeing her but i tell her to have a good trip and we can set something up when she gets back.
Now, this person isn't the greatest texter. We never had any meaningful online convos and it'd sometimes take her days to get back to me. She has an unconventional job/work schedule so i never thought/cared too much about it since we had such great in-person interactions and i like to keep text convos to a minimum early on. We didn't talk much during her trip but she reached out after she returned and sent me a bunch of pics from her time away. We try to make plans for the following week but the only day she had available was a day that I was not free. The day comes and my original plans fall through so i text her that morning to tell her that i would be free to see her that night if she was still available. I don't hear from her until that night after it's too late. She apologizes and tells me she was so slammed from work. I'm a little annoyed because she could have told me earlier but tell her that it's ok. I back off a little and wait a couple of days until reaching out to her again. I ask her if she'll be around the next week and she says yes. I make a little quip about if that'll finally be the week that i see her. Radio silence for four days until i send a brief follow-up just to check in. It's another two days until she responds. She apologizes and tells me her mom had passed away and she had been self-isolating and just hasn't been in any mood to see anyone. I give her my condolences and tell her to let me know if she needs anything. She tells me it means a lot to her and we stop texting again.
I figure she'd need some space and time to herself so i leave her alone. However, i check her IG the next day and she's posting stories of herself traveling. She seems to be smiling and having a good time in these stories which i found a bit odd for someone that just lost a parent, but I give her the benefit of the doubt. However, the next day i check her dating profile and notice that she has updated it with new pictures. This was clearly done after she told me of her mother's passing. Why would she tell me she needs time to herself to grieve and then update her dating profile? It doesn't make any sense to me and it starts messing with my head.
I haven't heard from her now in about 2 weeks. I sent a follow up message to her a few days ago just to check in and see how she was doing but was left on delivered. She has been active on IG during this time and you'd never be able to tell that she's grieving from any of her posts. I will not be initiating any further communication with her and have accepted that she probably won't be reaching out again but it's left me wondering and confused. I know we lost a lot of momentum in those weeks we were both away but she could have just ghosted me without giving me a story if she lost interest, right? It seems crazy to me that someone would lie about something like that. Or am i reading too much into it?
TLDR; Had a month of great dates with a woman i was really into. Haven't been able to set up a date since then (about 4 weeks) due to both us having busy personal/professional lives. She told me her mom died the last time i tried to schedule a date with her and haven't heard from her since even though she is actively posting on social media and updating her dating profile. Make it make sense.

2024.06.04 17:56 FarmWhich4275 An Alien Plays... Slime Rancher

"Great days and glorious victory! My name is Spifflemonk and welcome to Slime Rancher! I was given this game so I could 'relax' between bouts of suffering induced by Subnautica. So thank you... erm..."
Spiff looks at his notes.
"Thank you Blitz! Oh... another StarTuber? Hm... I seem to have a fanbase within a fanbase. Either that or people really do enjoy watching me suffer."
Spiff gives the camera his signature all consuming death stare and starts the game. He stares at the title screen for a bit as he tries to figure out what the hell he is looking at. Its Beatrix standing proud with her vacpack, while dozens of small slimes fall from the sky and bounce around, making cute noises and leaving stains on the ground and walls.
"What.... Am I looking at!? These things are 'slimes'? What am I supposed to do with them exactly? What's 'ranching' anyway? Well... I guess we find out."
Spiff starts a new game, chooses the icon for the Honey Slime as his save file, names it Spifflemonk and starts the game. He is too distracted trying to figure out what the hell's going on, he fails to read the story intro and simply appears in the ranch, ready to play.
"OH! Oh my! I'm in already... Okay. I guess I need to get going. Theresa tutorial? Okay then uhh... press that button to walk..."
He follows the tutorial and lets out an odd squeak as he cavs a slime into the first storage slot. He appears genuinely confused and spends a few minutes shooting a slime out, vaccing it up again, then shooting it back out. He watches the slimes leave slime puddles everywhere and tries to understand why.
"What... is this? Okay... food? Okay food. So take food, put slime in a pen, shoot food at slime. Simple enough."
He grabs a carrot nearby, shoots it at a pink slime and the slime poops out a Plort.
"WHAT!?"
Spiff grabs another slime, another carrots and produces another plort. He groans in frustration and facepalms.
"I have been in this scene for long enough to know that humans have this odd fixation with how funny their bodily functions are. Are you telling me THIS WHOLE GAME IS ONE BIG ADORABLE POOP JOKE!?"
Spiff collects another slime, feeding it a Hen-hen. The animal lets out a terrified cluck and produces a Plort in response. Spiff collects it and resumes playing.
"FINE. Let's keep going. At least the game is cute. The slimes are adorable. They make many booping noises. I like the booping."
Spiffle sighs in surrender and plays the game, very quickly figuring out how simple it really is. Find slime. Feed slime. Money. Rinse and repeat. He collects a few slims from the nearby nest, an oddly shaped hive-like structure and grabs some PogoFruit and Carrots for use later. He does this for a while longer and starts exploring options for plots.
"Let's see now. This thing is the Corral. Okay then. High walls... makes it harder for them to jump out. Oh I like that. Music box calms them down. Air Net makes them harder to bounce out. Solar shield is for... a special kind of slime. Okay. Plort collector and Auto-feeder. Oh... those two will be most useful!"
For now, Spiff hasn't got enough money and buys two new farm plots, one growing carrots, one growing Pogo-fruit. He then sets out to find new slimes and enter the rest of the games world. He moves around, eventually encountering the entrance to the Quarry and finds a Rock Slime.
"Oh, hello! What are you? Youre blue and spiky! Come here! Let me vac you up! Okay... Rock Slime? Oooh... these are kinda cute! They're all pointy. Will it hurt me if I-OW!"
Spiff shoots the slime out and walks towards it to try to get a closer look, only for it to hurt him. It's only a few points of damage but Spiff learns the lesson.
"Okay... so it's not THAT simple... Some slimes are cute, but deadly. Im just gonna vacuum this one up then..."
Spiff vacs up a few rock slimes and encounters a Tabby Slime in the process. He stops in his tracks as he hears the Tabby Slime meow like a cat.
"What... was that? Is it this thing? Wha- a... Tabby Slime? What's a Tabby?"
The slime bounces around, mewing and meowing, and grabs a Pogofruit nearby and plays with it. Spiffles eyes go wide, his cheeks change color and he pauses the game.
"Wh... what's going on!? Why are my cheeks warm!? Why is my heart rate so high? This isn't a scary game! I don't get like this! Whats going on!?"
Spiff is the first alien to experience the concept of "D'Aaaaawww!" On camera, and is blushing, his eyes are bulging to take in as much cuteness as possible and his heart is racing.
"Okay.. Okay I have no idea why, but apparently I really like this slime. So Let's go..."
Spiff vacs up a few Tabby Slimes and heads back to the ranch. He sells the plorts he has, gaining enough money to buy a plot and upgrade it with High Walls. He puts the Rock Slimes and Tabby Slimes in one spot owing to how the other plot he has is full of Pink Slimes. He tosses some Pogofruit in and waits to see what happens. Nothing.
"Hmm... Am I missing something? Is there a thing I can look at?"
Spiff pauses the game and notices the SlimePedia button in the pause menu and takes a look at it.
"OOOhhh... Okay... Rock Slimes only eat Veggies with a Heart Beet... whatever that is, being their favorite. The Tabby Slime only eats meat! Okay... Need to.. Oh here!"
Spiff finds a Carrot nearby and feeds it to one of the Rock Slimes. A Plort is produced and as he tries to grab it, a Tabby Slime chows down and turns into a RockTabby Largo. Spiff is taken by surprise and takes damage from the large creature as a result. The RockTabby is - as one would expect - a combination of a Rock Slime and a Tabby Slime, and looks as you would expect. Spiff responds with both fear and cuteness, the combination of a blue spiky slime making him Squee.
"Oh god look! What is that? Can I pick it up? I can! Okay... Largo... What's that? It's so cute! It's all... blue and spiky with fluffy ears! What is this game!? Can I carry you around? I can't. Damn. So what is a Largo?"
Spiff looks at the Slimepedia after playing with the Tabby Slimes for a while, figuring out more of the game's mechanics. Which were ridiculously simple.
"Is this another one of those 'so simple its silly' games? Find slime, feed slime, sell poop of slime and... that's it? Seriously? Welp...."
Spiff decides to just go with it and quickly figures out how to min-max the slimes he has, going through the motions of simply exploring what is available. In short order, he finds his first Gordo Slime - which is a massive immobile variant of a standard slime.
"Good GOD that thing is fat! My goodness!"
Spiff notices the giant pink slime on an island peninsula off the first area and heads towards it, noticing a path nearby. He ignores it for now and returns to the task at hand and approaches the giant puddle of wobbly jelly that is the Pink Gordo Slime.
"You sir. Are. FAT. Fat and wobbly. What do I do with you then... Uhhh... Slimepedia says feed until you explode. Okay then, it's a pinky boi, he eats anything. Okay, I shall be back!"
Spiff rumbles around collecting two full slots of food, Carrots and Pogofruit and shoots them at the gordo. After emptying both slots, the last two carrots bounce off and the gordo explodes, splitting into 8 pink slimes, three boxes and a floating key.
"Oh hello! A Key!? Okay then, imma collect THAT, then let's grab all of these slimes and put them somewhere. What's in these boxes? How do I open them..."
Spiff faffs about for a bit then learns how to open the boxes, receiving a few carrots, a Tabby Slime and one HeartBeet as a reward.
"A HeartBeet!? Don't my Rockies like those!? OOOOO I can feed that... No. Stop being stupid Spiff, we can put that in the farm plot then get more of them! To home!"
Spiff shakes his head and charges back home, deleting the carrots and planting the Heart Beets. He uses some extra carrots he has left over and feeds the rest, turning the last few Slimes into RockTabby Slimes.
"Alright... Gods I cannot fathom how... simple this game is! It looks complex on the outside but... SO simple! I wonder what would be the best combinations to use? Can I make it easy on myself and make it so there's only veggie or fruit slimes?"
Spiff learns pretty fast and catches on to the games mechanics with ease as he starts figuring out how to min/max the games plort mechanics, figuring out the best amount of Largo's to have in a corral at one time, in his case, 8. Spiff spends some time farming and gathers about 8000 coins over a few days, collecting random items and exploring, eventually finding the entrance to the Indigo Quarry.
"OOhhh okay then. Well, time to go in here I guess. I think this is where I will get to use my Key thing I found. So where do I- GAH!"
Spiff is attacked by three Feral Largos. Unable to do anything because he has no food on him, he runs around like a headless chicken trying to escape them. He gets cornered, taking a decent amount of damage before finally finding a way out.
"Oh my goodness! Silly creatures! Why were they so angry!? What did I do!?"
Spiff carries on through and unlocks the first Gate to the quarry, the first of many. The area around him is purple - his favorite color, and he is immediately giddy on entering the area. He is drawn immediately to the massive turquoise crystal formations poking out from walls and floors.
"Oh my! These crystals! Do these exist in real life!? Now, for all my non-human viewers, humans have this thing where most of their media is based on experiences or mythology. If something like this exists in a game, it's very likely that it exists in reality. I would LOVE to visit something like this!"
Spiff marvels at the dated but pretty graphics of the goofy game and stares at crystals for a bit. He quickly finds two of the most dangerous slimes, The Boom Slime and The Rad Slime in the quarry. He grabs two Rads, Six Booms and finds an Oca Oca among the veggies in the area.
"My! That's efficient! Slimepedia says these are exploding slimes and radioactive slimes... Well that's... Not nice. Still, it should be easy. These Oca Oca things are the favorite food of the radiation slimes so, there we go! Efficiency! Let's go see what's over here-WHAT."
Spiff wanders over to the pond nearby and has his first encounter with a Puddle Slime. It's a slime that squeaks like a toy and purrs like a cat underwater, in the shape of a little puddle, hence the name.
"My GOD that thing is cute! What is that? A... Puddle slime? It's a slime that lives in a puddle or pond. Okay then. MINE. The cuteness is all MINE!"
Spiff runs around and grabs three Puddle Slimes and rushes back home, unable to get past the bridge to the next location. He spends a decent amount of his money buying a new corral and farm plot for the new slimes and a Pond for his new favorite pets, The Puddles.
"Sooo cute! This game seems so... family friendly! Which is a big change from horrors such as Zomboid or Rimworld. But it can't be that simple though so... I need to see something before I go further."
Spiff keeps wandering about, once again towards the quarry carrying a load of Heart Beets for the Rock Slime Gordo he passed by earlier in a cave. After popping the Gordo he unlocks a teleporter pad.
"What's this swirly thing? What happens if I step on it?"
Spiff steps in and is instantly returned to a spot next to the market back home. By this time, the first day is ending and it's almost night time. This is where Spiff encounters his first enemy - the Tarr Slime.
"Oh look! It's a new slime! It... looks strange though. but these are like living slime creatures so I suppose that's not abnormal. What slime is-OW! It attacked! Get away!"
The Tarr attacks Spiff and bites him a few times before Spiff grabs it and shoots it away. Spiff looks on in horror as a Tarr nearby grabs a slime with strange slimy tentacle like appendages and then eats it.
"A slime that EATS other slimes!? GET AWAY FROM MY BOUNCIES!!!"
Spiff gets angry and grabs all the Tarrs in the area and flings them into the ocean nearby. He nearly died on account of taking so much damage from wrangling them to where he could throw them.
"Where does that come from? Wait a minute, Slimepedia... A Tarr slime? A slime that appears when a Largo of two different slimes eats a plort from a third different slime. Oh... So these things are a form of population control built into the game? That's an interesting mechanic. Hmmm... Alright. That's all for this one. I'm satisfied."
Spiffs outro plays with a smile.
TOP COMMENT: Slime Rancher eh? Fun game, very fun indie game! SR is one of the best 'relax and turn brain off' kinds of games. SR 2 might also be fun for you. Look forward to the next episode of Subnautica!
___________________________________________________________________
The video starts and Spiffs Intro plays. The cameras open and its Spiff and one other Eridani in a split screen. The screen to the left is Spiff, the screen to the right is the other one, who is clearly a lot smaller in stature and demeanor.
"Great days!" Spiff says.
"And Glorious victory!" Comes the squeaky kid voice from the other.
"I am Spifflemonk, and after much deliberation and showing my wife the game, she has finally agreed to allow my lovely little daughter to play a human game! As a consequence, say hello to Mini-Monk!" He says with a strangely happy grin.
"Hiii!" The child squeaks happily and waves at the camera.
The camera zooms out to see the child, around a quarter of her fathers height, sitting in his lap on a pillow in Spiff's usual seat, the camera making sure both are fully visible. The child is adorable, has very light blue, almost cyan skin tone and big bright pink eyes, and in human terms is the age of about 8 years old. The games screen starts up, and Spiff goes for a New Game, this one modded with some Quality Of Life and Graphics mods.
"Yes yes, I have my own save game where I will be finishing the game vanilla. But this is necessary! I have been looking for MONTHS to find a game friendly enough for my daughter to play, both in terms of content and mechanics, and I finally found one! But, as per my Wife's request, she isn't allowed to play it without me here."
Spiff smiles at the camera and shows the child how to use the keyboard controls, teaching her what certain symbols of the standard English Alphabet are for on the keyboard. He mostly stays hands off, only really intervening when she's lost or presses the wrong key by accident.
"So I vacuum up these things and stuff? Does it hurt them?" She asks.
"Nope! Doesn't hurt them. Slimes dont hurt apparently."
"And... I feed them like this?" She asks as she puts a slime in the Corral and feeds it a carrot.
"Yup! Then you take its poop and sell it." Spiff replies with a smirk.
She looks up at him with a confused scowl. "Seriously? you're making me play a game about slime poop?"
"It's a bit more in depth than that sweetie but that's basically it. Get slime, feed food to slime, slime poops out these things called 'Plorts', then you sell the plorts. Plorts are slime poop." Spiff smiles down at her.
"Are there blue ones? I like blue."
"Oh there's lots of blue ones! Even a whole blue/purple place you can find!" He replies.
"Mine."
Spiff barely holds in a chuckle as she excitedly goes about the game. Spiff does most of the 'grind' elements or talks her around while she's in his lap, so she gets to enjoy the exploration aspect more. He shows her how to set up a farm of Pink Slimes and shows her the basics, before allowing her to move on to other spots. Eventually, she comes across the entrance to the Indigo Quarry cave in the second area, and finds a Rock Slime.
"It's blue! What is it?" She asks, then vacs it up.
Spiff, being the only one in the room that can read Human English, explains as they go. "That's a rock slime. It's a slime that has rocks and minerals in it and eats veggies."
"It... eats veggies? and it's a slime made of rock. Whaaa?"
"Don't question it, ginky, this game is about farming slime monster poop. Don't expect it to make sense, just enjoy playing it!" Spiff says with a laugh.
"Okay..." She shrugs and resumes playing.
She grabs a few more Rock Slimes and a few Hen-Hens from the local area and moves on, looking around her at various things to figure out what they are. Spiff stays mostly hands off, simply trying to let her explore and enjoy. Until she finds a Tabby Slime. The meowing and squeaking, as well as the playful behavior makes the child's face light up.
"Whats THAT its so cute!" She hastily gabbles as she vacs up a Tabby Slime nearby.
"That's a Tabby Slime! It's a slime inspired by a creature that lived on Earth once called the 'cat'." Spiff said.
"This actually exists!? Can we have one!?" She squeals and stares her father down with puppy eyes.
Spiff laughs heartily in a fatherly laugh. "Hell to the heck no we aren't. Cats are evil. Humans have told me cats are evil. I've seen cats. I don't let evil things near my children. Not even if they are cute. BUT... There are cat based games humans have made. You can have a virtual cat. We can try some of those in the future, if your mother allows it."
"Okay." The child sighs and resigns herself, both defeated at the failure to get a cat, and also happy at the prospect of other cats somewhere else.
She wrangles a few Tabby Slimes and returns to the Ranch to put them in their pens. The squeaking and meowing sounds coming from the Tabby Slimes makes the child go giddy and start an adorable giggle fit as she vacs one Tabby up, then throws him out again to listen to the adorable noises. This carries on for a bit longer than one would expect and Spiff looks into the camera with a knowing fatherly smirk and rolls his eyes with a smile.
The child's giggling is cut short when eventually, one of the Tabby Slimes eats a Rock Slimes Plort and becomes a Largo. The large blue cat/rock slime combo takes her by surprise.
"HEY! Wh-where’d my cat go? What's that? Why is it big?"
Spiff looks down at her with a smirk. "You'll figure it out. This game is a tiny bit more complicated than you think."
She looks back at the game and tries a few things. She flings a plort at the RockTabby, and nothing happens. Then she grabs a Hen-Hen and the Largo isn't hungry, so nothing happens. She then takes a Tabby Plort and flings it at the Largo. It bounces and hits a Rock Slime, that then eats it and turns into a RockTabby Largo.
"OOOOhhhh kay... So these things can be two in one? It can be a... RockCat Slime?" She asks.
"Yup. But be caref-"
"What happens if I do this though..." She says as she picks up a Pink Plort and yeets it at the Largo, creating a Tarr Slime.
The black mass of wobbly slime begins the mass consumption of the slimes in the pen and she squeals in terror and anger at the sight. Spiff pauses the game and gives her a cuddle to calm her down.
"He's eating my slimies!" She cried between sobs.
"Now now little bug, that's not how a Lady acts is it!? No 'Tis not! So, watch. They aren't scary at all." Spiff says and grabs a Tarr, then yeets it into the ocean behind the Ranch. He pauses the game again and looks down at her.
"Is it gone?" she asks.
"Nope. there's still more there. Now you and I both know that you're way too old to be cowering in my lap like this! Ladies don't behave like this. Are you a lady?" He says, smirking.
"I am!" She squeals.
"Prove it! Take those Tarrs and throw them into the ocean! Prove that, just like a lady, you can take care of your problems!" Spiff commands with a smirk.
She squeals in an adorable warrior's roar and grabs the Tarrs one by one, throwing them off the edge into the ocean. She cringes a bit in fear each time she grabs one but manages to hold her own and saves her slimes from further Tarr-ification. In the end, only a few are lost. She holds her tiny hands high and yells the Eridani word for 'Victory!' and carries on playing the game, eventually making it to the Moss Blanket Gate.
Spiff however, ends it there as she has now been playing for two hours.
"Okay then, well, that's all for now." He says, pausing and saving the game.
"AAAwwww nooo! I wanna play more!" She protests.
"No. Remember what happened that time I got hauled away by the funny police? That's what happens when you play human video games. You forget who you are sometimes. NO. Not happening to my little one. You get two hours a day, maximum. That's the rule. Now run along. Tomorrow your chair arrives, I had it made specially for you, so you don't have to sit in my lap all the time." He says, stern and direct.
"Okay... darn it..." She says with a sad frown and walks out the door.
Spiff looks at the camera and smiles broadly, then the channel outro plays.
TOP COMMENT: Thatta boy. That's how a dad do. She is ADORABLE! I was NOt expecting the cute. That was… refreshing :)
______________________________________________________
"Great days and glorious victory! My name is Spifflemonk and welcome back to Slime Rancher! Back to a moment of rest after a... close encounter with a... certain very very large spider in a game called Grounded."
Spiffle visibly shudders in terrified disgust.
"In any case, we're going back to the ranch! Mods for my daughter's save are disabled so we can work in a base game as most people say I should during my first play, so here we go."
Spiff returns to the game and wastes no time going back to min-maxing, figuring out the Upgrade and jetpack system in short order, using it to acquire more slimes. He quickly went through and grabbed a few more slimes for a better payoff, getting a farm that was relatively self-sustaining.
"So, here is the best option that I have found. A maximum of eight slimes per corral with a fully upgraded farm plot to sustain them seems to be the best option so I can continue to explore the game without grinding too much. That's a decent pace I think. Let me take you on a tour!"
Spiff heads towards the ranch and shows off the stock. Eight Largos in each, with a farm plot feeding it, and four corrals on the main farm. All are fully upgraded as best as possible.
"This one has RockTabby's! They eat Heart Beets! This one has RadBooms, Rad slimes and Boom slimes. Dangerous but fed with Oca Oca for a good payday! AThis one has a new slime in it! The HoneyHunter! A Hunter slime which I found off camera yesterday, and another one called the Honey Slime, which eats these Mint Mango things. These are my favorites! Look! They go invisible! You can only see eyes!"
He shows off the honey flavored cat-like slimes going invisible and giggles inanely at the sight.
"So cute! And here, New slimes! I found these while exploring some caves near the Quarry. They are Crystal Slimes... which by itself is AWESOME! But while around at night, I found these ones, which were Phosphor Slimes. These guys were hard to figure out and then I understood the Solar Shield upgrade. That... hurt a bit. After losing three stocks of Phosphor Slimes."
Spiff scoffs and shows off the slimes. He moves away to a back area near the Plort Market and shows off several Hen-Hen coops, including a full Corral that's completely full to the top with squawking and squirming Hen-Hens.
"I'm going to toss a slime in there one day... see what happens!"
Spiff laughs in a rather disturbingly sadistic manner and resumes work, going to the dockyard further down.
"Both of these areas I had to unlock with cash. Wasn't easy but I got the farm going. Now I have a lot of cash I've no idea what to do with. In any case, here we go! The Puddle Ranch!"
The last four plots are made up of ponds, one of which has a dozen Puddle slimes in it at once.
"They are so cute! Yes I know you can't get anything out of them if there's more than four in a pond, but I keep finding more and they're so CUTE! Look at da little puddle! In any case I also have this. An incinerator. No idea what its for but I guess i'll find out."
Spiff fangirls around the Puddle Slimes for a while and leaves the Ranch, grabbing four individual Plorts and heads to the North. Here he finds the Slime Portal, surrounded by Slime statues, each one having a slot in it that contains a Plort.
"I am ashamed to say It took me a while to figure this out. But you take plorts corresponding to the slime statue and... poof. Now... what do it do?"
Spiff watches as the Portal opens, a cute song plays and the gate slides open to allow him access to the rest of the map. He enters and finds The Ancient Ruins - a puzzle maze of shifting gates and twisting passages. Thankfully he has one Slime Key left, so he can essentially skip the puzzle this place offers and go straight to the Glass Desert. Well that is until he encounters a Quantum Slime.
"What... Is this yellow slime? Is it a gold slime or-QUANTUM SLIME!? WHAT!?"
He stares at the camera in his signature 'you know too much' glare and watches what the slime does. It phases out of existence and teleports itself to another spot nearby.
"A teleporting slime!? How does that make any sense!? HOW???"
Spiff stares at the slime for a bit and just says 'fuck it' and starts exploring the area, grabbing a few Slimes. He finds a Phase Lemon and struggles for a while, eventually giving up and consulting the wiki to figure out how to get one and then resumes exploring. The entire time he grumbles about how annoying this whole thing is, and arrives at the gate. He puts in the key and uses the slimes he has on him plus a few Pogofruit to get Quantum Plorts and finishes the puzzle, entering the Glass Desert.
"Well... This is... very empty, barren and dead compared to where I came from. Hmm..."
Spiff isnt wasting time, heads straight to the wiki and figures out what to do. He seems to be impatient for some reason and is rushing through it, grabbing slimes and securing resources he thinks he might need, following the breadcrumb trail left by all the strange floating holographic H signs left everywhere. Eventually, he scrambles through the huge maze of stuff everywhere, unlocks a few gates and reads the last sign he can find left by the mysterious 'H'.
"OOOhhhh so that's how that works! Okay so the story i-WHAT THE FU-"
Spiff is grabbed by four sets of tiny Eridani hands and dragged out of his chair. Four Eridani children, including his daughter Mini-Monk, scramble into his seat, exit, save the game and start a new game in his place. Each child is around the same age.
"CUTE SLIMIES!!!" The children excitedly chirp as Spiff just sighs in annoyance.
"Uggghhh... kids."
Spiffles outro plays, along with a short, but adorable slideshow of him showing pictures of each of the kids taking turns playing the game, enjoying themselves, figuring out how everything works and trying to handle a swarm of Tarr slimes due to a Plort accident at the Ranch.
TOP COMMENT: I think I've died and gone to cute. Your kids are adorable! Ready to go back to Subnautica yet Spiff? I WANT TO SEE YOU FACE THE LEVIATHAN.
Spiffs response: FUCK YOU AND FUCK YOUR GIANT SCARY DEEPWATER CURSED FISH. And no those aren't my kids, it's just my daughter and a few friends. Only one is mine.
Response: Oh god I'm gonna LOVE watching you play Phasmophobia! That might kill you! LOL
Spiffs response: EVIL. HUMANS ARE EVIL.
((Authors note: BEFORE YOU ASK no i don't have kids and i'm not expecting any. This was just something funny I wanted to write. So here you go.))

2024.06.04 17:54 BoxPossible371 Mil doesn’t come to my wedding because my husband wore pink.

I (28 f) and my husband (30 m) got married one week before lockdown started in 2020. I will say it wasn't a big weeeing as we basically eloped. We had some friends and family but planned it in two weeks. The night we got engaged I asked my mother in law if she would help plan the wedding. I needed decorations, food ideas, normal wedding things. She asked me what I was wearing and I told her that I had already picked a wedding dress. I've had for years (I was engaged before this) and my grandmother bought it for me. (That is truly the only reason I wanted to wear it as my grandmother was terminally ill and couldn't make it in person. This was my way of including her in my weeding) MIL wasn't happy but said she understood. Before I continue with the story I want to add my husband has been low contact with her since he moved out at 18. I wanted to include her because I wanted to make him happy. Back to the story. She then asks what hubby was wearing and I told her it wasn't anything fancy so he's wearing. A pink button down and some black slacks. She went insane. (My husbands favorite color is pink and I don't mind him wearing whatever he wanted as it was his day too.) she was cursing and screaming at the top of her lungs about how men don't wear pink and unless you are a female you don't wear pink to a wedding. I watched my husband shut down and he said he didn't want to wear pink anymore. I'm not a confrontational person but lucky for my husband my mother his mother in law doesn't care about hurting peoples feelings. I asked her to tell his mother that if she was going to disrespect what we wanted on our day then to consider herself uninvited. She screamed more obscenities and we hung up on her. Fast forward a week later my husband and I got married (yes he wore pink) and here we are 4 years later and he only speaks to her for health reasons (his health), Mother's Day, and her birthday.

2024.06.04 17:51 Elegant-Tomorrow885 Another person's story of unrequited love.

Just a vent post. I'm too hurt to want them to be happy. Every logical piece of me is screaming all the time. We broke up, we just couldn't work. But we have to exist with each other because of our kid. I do everything I can to be cordial, polite, nice, and peaceful. We'll be seeing each other for every important life event and even for the little things in between. But the days of watching him live everything I ever wanted, hoped, dreamed... And asked for, but with someone else. Sends an absolute rage through me. It really pushes the "if he wanted to, he would" buttons and makes me spiteful that he never wanted to do those things with me. Go out to things like renaissance festivals, visit family in other states, have a bunch of pets, go to certain restaurants etc. All the little things that caused our issues (I was "boring" and "never wanted to do anything", although he was the one shooting down my ideas) he's suddenly... On board with, but for someone else. In another life, me and her would probably be best friends. Our shared interests, humor, and outlooks on life ... Makes this even harder to understand. The fact that she's absolutely WONDERFUL... Enrages me.
You would think being SHOWN that the love you hoped for existed, but that it wasn't meant for you would be enough to turn a persons heart away. Instead it's filling my heart with emotions that never belong there.
How bad was I truly? What was I missing? I know the answer is nothing. There's nothing I could have done because feelings are what they are sometimes and he just never fell as hard for me as I did him. But I tried... I tried so very hard to be something, anything worthy of his heart.
But in the end. I'm stuck watching him give it to someone else. All I can do is bite my tongue, swallow my tears, and smile as it happens.
Currently on a vacation in a tropical island... but can't enjoy my time because all I notice is her calling him baby and feeding him ice cream. All the photos that "should have been us" instead. Just a few more days and we can go back to minimal contact 🙏🏼 I HATE these feelings.

2024.06.04 17:50 DramaticHampster AITA for cutting off contact with my sister after she tried to sabotage my wedding?

For context I am (29) and my sister is (26)
This basically all started when my sister Ashley was diagnosed with severe autism and ADHD at around the age of 2. It was normal, just a lot of temper tantrums, but at the age of 5, she finally learned that she can do anything she wants without a consequences. Whenever I had something she didn’t have, my parents would always either get her the same thing or I had to give her it, I always tried to argue back, but my parents always said I was being unfair, and to be nice to my sister because of her condition. In some occasions she would even run into my room and brag about if mom was taking her to the store or got a new toy that I didn’t have.
I was pretty fed up with this, I decided to save up allowance money on a lock for my door so I could get some privacy. After my sister tried one of her attempts to barge into my room realizing she couldn’t open it, she started to complain to my parents about it. I tried explaining to my parents how she can’t keep barging into my room. My parents argued back saying, how I’m being selfish and how I should just let her do it because of her condition. I couldn’t win against them and I had to remove the lock.
Fast forward a few months, I just turned 9, I wanted to go to a local arcade with all my friends, but of course, my sister was complaining about how she couldn’t choose where my party was. But thankfully my parents didn’t let her choose. When we get to the arcade, it was all fine, until we went back into the party room, I was horrified, apparently my parents left my sister in the room for a few minutes to go get me and my friends, and when we came back, the cake was all over floor, most of the presents were torn open or destroyed. I was trying to hold back my tears, while my sister had a big grin on her face, my dad had to bring her home. However, like all things she did, she got away with it. My mom was telling me, “she can’t help it, it wasn’t her fault, the only thing you can do right now is to deal with it.” I broke down into tears after hearing what she said, and stormed out of the room.
Fast forward a few weeks, I have barely been talking to my parents, ever chance I got, I would avoid them. Thankfully my parents let me install the lock back on my door after Ashley went into my room while I was changing. Ever since Ashley got into 1st grade, she has constantly been asking for help with her homework, and by help, I mean playing games while I have to do it. My parents are always busy during work so they force me to help her. One day, Ashley’s teacher decided to assign her class a project. The project was to make your favorite fast food restaurant from cereal boxes. She decided not to do anything until the last day before it was due. Like usual, I had to help her again, I was panicking because it was like 9:00 and my bedtime was 10:00. I was asking her what her favorite fast food place was. She didn’t respond until 30 minutes went by and she said you choose. I was about to scream, I chose the easiest one to make which was Mc. Donald’s. 50 minutes go by, I finished the project, but what she did made me almost want to kill her, she decided to throw it across the room and stomp on it. My parents went to check to see all the noise and my sister is on the floor pretending to cry saying how I broke it and how I want her to fail. I was shocked, my parents sided with her again, even before I got to argue back, I was grounded for weeks, I felt like I wanted to kill myself, however I couldn’t do it.
Fast forward until I was 17, my sister just turned 14, and she decided to bring her friend home, I thought nothing of it, she had friends over all the time, but this time was different, I went to the bathroom for like 5 minutes, when I got out, my room was trashed, bed sheets all over the place, pillows in every corner, lamp knocked over, they even threw my computer on the floor. (If you were wondering, yes I still had the lock, but they pick locked it), apparently her friend was good at pick locking locks. My parents were on vacation when I called them to tell them about it, they just told me I was lying and to stop trying to get my sister in trouble all the time. I decided I needed to move far away, I spent all Junior and Senior year working hard to get a good scholarship.
Fast forward a year later, I had my graduation my parents and grandparents were all there except for my sister, my parents came up with the excuse of how she was sick and she couldn’t go, but they used that excuse so many times that I couldn’t even care anymore. Graduation was really fun me and my friends hosted an after party at my house, my sister was no where in sight, my parents said she was “sick”, but she wasn’t even at home, or so I thought, probably an hour later we went to my room to hang out, only to see my sister with her friends eating all over my bed, I saw crushed up chips all over the floor, I had enough, when my parent saw this, they were furious, grounded my sister for a full month, and her friends were never allowed over, I was glad, but more glad to get away from here.
Fast forward a few months, I said my goodbyes to my parents and I headed to a college out of the country. My sister was crying when I left, mainly because I couldn’t do her school work for her anymore. She had to repeat 10th grade again after she failed her finals after being caught cheating on her phone. My parents were furious about this, I don’t know if she got punished or not from this, since it wasn’t spoken about much.
Fast forward a few weeks, college was great so far, me and this girl, Mikayla share a dorm, we became really great friends, we hung out, and ate dinner together almost every night. I had majored as an IT Specialist, going to class everyday, I sit next to my future Husband Steven, it was almost love at first sight, I was a bit nervous to ask him out on the first day, h but on the second day, I had the courage to ask him out, he said he would love to, and he thought I was pretty cute. Happiness filled my eyes and I hugged him without thinking, I thought I made a big mistake, but by my surprise, he was fine with it.
Fast forward 3 years later, me and Steven finally graduated from college and got job offers at an office, after a while of us saving money, we bought a lovely 2 bed 1 bath house about 15 minutes from our office. It had been a while since I checked up on my parents, I started a FaceTime call with them, we both have been telling each other what has been going on in our lives, she started to mention how Ashley just graduated from high school and how she would love for you to come visit again. We didn’t mind taking a vacation. After we got off the plane, I saw my parents waiting for me, but not Ashley. Apparently Ashley still lives with them, and doesn’t have any plans on going to college. My parents were fine with it and supported her decision. We all decided to go out for dinner the same night it was going good until Ashley started to flirt with Steven, which made him a bit uncomfortable, I don’t really remember what he said, but I think he said no thanks or I’m not interested. Ashley was a bit embarrassed, but she had another idea, she decided to scoot her chair closer to him, which prompted him to push her away, making him a bit pissed off, she then decided to lean on him saying how she is so much better than I, and how she is prettier. This got him pissed off so much that he just left the restaurant.
Fast forward 8 years, me and Steven are about to have our wedding, we had low contact with my parents and sister, but we still invited them, I thought my sister would have grown up by now. We had our wedding at this nice hotel. On the wedding day, everything was looking beautiful, everyone was there except my sister, my parents said “she was running late”, that was until she came in the door with a full on wedding dress, I was shocked, to see her do that, when I called her out on it, she just said how she should just be able to wear it, and how it costed so much. I went off on her, I told her that I had sent out a dress code multiple times, and how if you would have read the texts I sent, this wouldn’t have happened. She started to cry and my parents started to defend her saying, how she could just take the dress off and it will be fine, I thought it would be ok.
Fast forward to where I was walking down the carpet, Ashley was sitting with her arms crossed, I didn’t mind it, as me and Steven said our “I do’s”, my sister jumped up and said, “BOO, WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET THE CAKE!”, everyone in the room was staring at her. My parents who were sitting next to her looked really embarrassed. My parents tried to get her out of the room, when she ran out of their arms and went right for the cake. The cake was all over the ground, and I see her just eating it. Security had to escort her out, I was holding back my tears, as she just ruined my whole wedding in front of me.
After the wedding, I decided to block Ashley from every site, and I decided to post about how she ruined my wedding.
I’m starting to feel guilty, was blocking her the right thing to do?

2024.06.04 17:46 Sezuresalad My family is a mess and my sister is manipulative

I love my family they do so much for me but there are just so many problems. Idk where to start. I guess I will start with the fact that my family is well off and that is amazing but I feel like most actions of love or something is shown through transactions. I’m not going to count the fact that my parents pay for so much medical stuff but mostly the fact I can’t call anyone out because my parents pay for my college which is my dream college and is expensive. I’ve beeps sheltered my whole life with money that i didn’t start actually losing that obvious personality till I started dating my current boyfriend. When we do stuff that is typically free or not expensive it just means more. My parents seem to deny inflation or the fact that times have changed with job opportunities. When i was going for my first job they always thought it was best for me to go in person and i embarrassed myself every time. I found out why their computer they run does not involve applications you just call in. My boyfriend has called me out for complaining a lot and I now understand why. It comes from my parents. I am now feeling so depressed every day in this house because I can’t afford to leave at age 21 I’m mostly waiting to graduate. I’m just sitting here crying wondering if I’m acting like a complaining teen. I don’t like leaving my room anymore kinda like when I was a teen. It doesn’t help I have autism and adhd and epilepsy. I was only diagnosed with autism when I was a senior in high school and now my parents want to get me a life coach for job interviews and stuff. I garentee I don’t need it because I’m high functioning and am quite good at interviews. I will call myself out for not being the greatest with money but my boyfriend has been helping me get better. I will actually give my boyfriend props for helping become more of an adult. The only family member I really related to was my grandpa who died a few years ago. I can’t ever tell how some of my parents actions are good. I will say we have been to family therapy but I was told by my mom we stopped doing it because i talked too much. I know i need to be more self aware sometimes with my autism and I will admit that. I want to mention one more thing that may seem small but kinda has fucked with me because it has kinda messed up my trust in her. I used to have a really cool Minecraft sweatshirt in 5th grade (in my opinion it was cool) one day it went missing I was of course sad but got over it. Years later I find out she took it away because I was going to middle school and she didn’t want me to get bullied. I guess that is a nice thing to do except for the fact that middle school was horrible for me. Years later before college my grandma took me shopping and I got some cute tops that were cute but a little low but one day those went missing which is kinda understandable but what really grinds my gears is the few articles of clothing i bought with my own money that went missing. But don’t even get me started on my sister. I think of her as the golden child even though she really isn’t I mea compared to me who is a graphic design/art student. I mean she has already got her CNA and she hasn’t officially graduated and don’t get me wrong im happy for her but she is just terrible to me. I will say this first she is not a very emotional person which is fine, she has had friend problems and she has an easing disorder but there are certain things she has said to me that have been untrue and I have thought they were true until I asked my parents. She has blamed me for making my parents fight because of my school cost (she will be going to an even more expensive school), asking for money (I only do that in emergencies now) and because of my boyfriend. Only to find out later that was not even remotely true. For some reason I can’t remember the other one but my sister can be minipulative. When she was younger she would threaten to destroy my Lego Death Star (it was one of my prized possessions at the time) I never did that to her. No matter how hard I try to connect with her she doesn’t care and I get blamed by my parents with her for not getting along. She has used my desire to connect with her to her advantage. This story still hurts more than angers me. I think it was last semester my sister finally asked to visit me at college with her friend and I was so stoked until she asked me to go to a frat party. I’m not into that and frats at my school are well known for their scandals it would be easier if I just showed you the text so I will attach it. She has never asked to visit since. She was of age to go but I didn’t want her to get hurt and I know she doesn’t party, drink, or anything. I’m not even going to bother going into her grad party this week. Both me and my parents worry about the future. But I still get blamed for the way she acts around me. Every day I try to talk to her she looks at me in discust I know I’m autistic but it hurts. It is once in a blue moon she is nice to me. I’ve invited her out to play pickle ball with me and my bf and she did play with us but was so mean to me but so nice to my boyfriend. I always feel so alone so I stay in my room.

2024.06.04 17:46 100tchains After playing wow and ff for years.

So I started with ff first, played since 1.0 and started wow with shadowlands.i do mythic, and push high keys, also do savage/Ultimate. People always said ff was the easy. Casual game but I don't see it.
First off lvling content, dungeons. wow dungeon lvling consist of killing trash and bosses in 30 seconds or less, where the mechanics of bosses are mostly ignored or very easy regardless of what expac you lvl through. In ff, packs will kill you if you aren't careful and bosses generally take 3 to 5 mins to kill and have interesting mechanics that if ignored will kill you. This applies to lvl 70 dungeon and heroics as well, just faceroll braindead. M+ luckily adds some challenge but mechanics remain very simple and the difficulty more comes from ilvl. Whereas ffs equivalent criterion savage is fking brutal, mobs hit harder, boss mechanics are much much harder, if you wipe the dungeon restarts and you can die only once.
Raids, lfr is a joke where boss mechanics once again are ignored for the most part and you just hit thing till dead, normal isn't much different, heroic makes you respect mechs finally, and mythic is like slightly harder heroic when new mechanics are added, but once again main difficulty comes from ilvl or bad balance from the devs that requires bosses hp and/or dmg to be nerfed, not mechanical difficulty. Ff raids on normal are heroic in terms of mechanical difficulty. Unless you are a tank mechanics will kill you if not done properly "we call this tank privilege because things are balanced to hit a dps hard but too a tank that's nothing lol" extreme trials are mostly harder than heroics and on par with some mythic, once again mechanically. Depending on the trial as some are actually hard to a lot of people and some are v easy. Savage raids blow wow raids out of the water in terms of difficulty, it's not even close. while yes it's only 8 people vs 20 the complexity of mechanics and how every person has a ton of responsibilities, and that if one fucks up it's a wipe and those mechanics are just so much more complex to execute. Ultimate is just lol, I'm not gonna even talk about it as it's not even a discussion about which is harder. Even old Ultimates like uwu/ucob put mythic to shame.
Class complexity, so I main assassin/outlaw/enhancement 2 specs with the lowest playrates in the game due to being "hard to learn/play" I'd say assassin is easier to play than every ff job besides wasummoner and outlaw would be harder than those + dancer but still v simple. Most wow classes consist of 4 to 7 core abilities then situational utility/defensives. But alot of the time you hit one button till a proc or reapply dots. Rotations are simple and not super strict usually, rogues having a more strict Rotation is honestly one of the reasons they are the only class I don't get bored playing. Meanwhile ff jobs tend to have 12 to 16 core Rotation buttons, and very strict rotations where one fuck up ruins your parse by dropping you 100s of dps or more. For the record dps in ff as of now do like 12 to 15k. To any who say ff is slow, it's obvious you haven't played lvl 90 characters with their full kits. They "mostly" aren't slow at all. 3 are but then so are some in wow.
Final thoughts, ff is a skill based game with complex mechanics where all content can be cleared with minimum ilvl and a good player in lower ilvl gear can outdamage the same class who is bis if they are a better player.
Wow is more casual zugzug with simple mechanics and it's difficulty comes from numbers/stats be it low ilvl or bad balance/overturned bosses that get nerfed. If a group can play perfectly and still not clear because they need better gear or a boss is overtuned, it's not hard, it's badly designed. Idk if wow used to be harder but if I want casual fun I play wow, if I want to sweat il play ff

2024.06.04 17:35 No_House4698 how should i 22f continue with my husband 22m after being very intimate with my friend 28m?

back in january my husband and i started discussing me being more free with my body. being topless in europe, stuff like that. nothing too crazy. i met marco at work, super super sweet and nerdy. we started hitting it off. my husband and i mutually decided that we'd be down for marco to see my boobs. not to initiate a three way or anything, but to be vulnerable. i wanted to be sexual, but sensual. that probably doesn't make any sense but that's the best i can explain it lol.
i was wearing a button up shirt and spandex that night. sitting next to marco on the couch that night, (hubby was there too) i asked marco if he'd be ok with me unbuttoning my shirt and he was nervous but also excited and said yes. so i did, i was nervous at first, but tbh it was really fun, spiritual and liberating. so we spent the night drinking wine, listening to music and talking, i just happened to have my boobs out. i think we all loved it, and the most scandalous thing that happened that night was i hugged him good night topless.
similar things happened for the next few times we hung out, i guess it got incrementally wilder. instead of having just my shirt undone, id have it all the way off. id walk around the apartment in nothing but my underwear.
my husband and i would talk about how interesting and new this all was, and we mutually agreed that we'd like to see what it was like for me to have my boobs/nipples stroked/kissed by marco, but obviously this was a pretty big step. i was hesitant because obviously it's my body, and my husband didn't push me, which i appreciated. i think it also felt like a really big deal because i know y'all are gonna be skeptical of this, but sex or anything under the belt with marco was completely off limits for all of us, so this was gonna be the farthest that we would go.
the same type of stuff continued, me being topless around marco and my husband, not doing anything more until a few weeks ago. my husband was going overseas for a week, and knew id be seeing marco while he was gone. he asked if there was gonna be more that happened since he was gonna be away. i was genuinely honest with him, and said that it wasn't impossible, but that i highly highly highly doubted anything would. i thought i might not even be topless without my husband around. idk, i guess i was just feeling a little weird, can't really put my finger on why.
the first night hubby was away, marco and i hung out. this sounds more questionable than it was, so here's some more context. we were together until like 2:00 am, and he spent the night. however we were in a group of friends the whole time, and we work at a restaurant that doesn't close until midnight so this type of thing isn't unusual. and marco had previously been spending the night in our spare bedroom, he was just there so that he didn't have to drive an hour and a half to get home. we didn't even spend any time together at the apartment that night, and he had left for work by the time i woke up i texted my husband about all of this, literally didn't matter at all, just giving as much detail as possible i guess.
a few nights later, i planned on cooking for marco. in hindsight it's kinda clear that this is the night something was gonna happen. not sexually, but i was telling my husband that i was gonna give marco a massage since he'd been working so much, and that there was a decent chance we'd fall asleep on the sofa together or something. dinner was really nice. we had some good conversations.
at about 10:30 pm, we started watching a movie, and we planned on falling asleep on the sofa together. btw i was texting my husband little updates of everything that im writing here, i think it was like 3:00 am where he was, and he was jetlagged so he was in and out of sleep, so sometimes he'd respond, sometimes he wouldn't. he was genuinely really happy i was having a nice time which was sweet.
marco did offer to let me sleep in bed with him, my room was really close to some construction that always wakes me up. i think he was genuine, but also just liked the idea of sleeping in the same bed with me lol, and i politely declined.
he was gently kissing my hairline during the movie, and had his hand on my knee under the covers. i was fully clothed at this point.
after the movie i gave him a really good massage, and then we decided to put on another movie to fall asleep to, and i decided to take my shirt off, but i kept my shorts on.
we were cuddling on the sofa, both of us shirtless, and he touched my breast. i asked him "did you mean to touch my boob?" and he kinda acted like he didn't realize he'd done it, maybe he was asleep and his hand slipped, but then we kept cuddling and i brought his hands back on my breasts and he started rubbing my nipple and stroking my boob with his thumbs, and it felt really good.
i felt bad and texted my husband, he was totally good. i felt bad because i was really in the moment with marco, so i texted my husband like an hour after this happened. i really wanted to sleep with marco, literally just sleep in the same bed, no sex lol, but it didn't feel right, so i didn't.
but i really liked watching him love on my boobs. i was just watching his technique, i think he was looking at it too. watching the way the candles flickered on my bare boobs, which were pressed against his chest, watching the way the light reflected as he cast a shadow over my nipple with his fingers. and after he was done touching them, i said "what do u think? and he said "you've got really nice nipples." and i blushed and said thank you.
my husband asked if i was turned on. it was weird, i wasn't like dtf or anything, but physically i could feel my pussy stimulated. but im like 99% sure marco was hard.
sooooo that happened lol. and then marco said the next night he was gonna take me out to dinner. work that day was crazy, knowing that this guy i didn't even know a few months ago had been so intimate with me the night before. we went out for dinner which was really fun. i was feeling pretty good and confident after the previous night. usually i wait for a little bit and settle in before taking my top off but i was comfortable having my boobs out as soon as we came in the door. we had dessert, watched the office and we were just hanging out. it was only 10:30 but we were exhausted. since i was feeling so comfortable, i texted my husband that i was gonna sleep topless in the same bed with marco. he was surprised but supportive.
at 2:30 am i woke up to him kissing my neck and breasts. i really liked it and rolled on top of him, putting my tits in his face to let him know he could keep going. i know i shouldn't have been, but i was surprised at how hard he was (i could feel him against my thigh) at this point i snuck i texted my husband after this asking if it was okay, i rly wanted to keep going but i wasn't going to without his go ahead. he was understandably surprised, and had a lot of questions. i told him i needed a yes or no because I needed to get back to marco. he told me that i was good to go ahead, as long as I told him everything afterwards. i was excited and happy that i could go ahead, and used the time in the bathroom as an opportunity to take my shorts off (i wasn't completely naked, i was still in a thong) and i crawled back into bed with marco.
i straddled him, and i rolled over and put my boobs in his face. he was kissing them while he was running his hands up my butt, my hips, my back, we did that on and off for about 30 minutes, me back on my back/him stroking my breasts. then i'd roll over and he'd start kissing them. and we had our legs up on one another we were kissing each others necks. i felt his erection on my leg as he pressed up against me, and then against my ass as we were spooning and getting ready to sleep. i subconsciously started throwing it back at him, so we were kinda dry humping for a min. idk if he got any pleasure from it, i kinda think he might have since his dick was basically between my ass cheeks but idk, i didn't get any pleasure from it lol. so we spooned and fell asleep, and then the next morning, we woke up, and we were cuddling. we must have readjusted in the middle of the night because i woke up to his face buried in my cleavage, gently kissing me. he was running his thumb up & down my nipples all morning while i lay on my back. he was stealing kisses on my neck & on my head and cheek, all the while the morning sun, with its dark orange tint peeping through the bedroom. we were all tangled up in the sheets. it was so romantic and i felt so close to him.
my husband was understandably shocked by all this, but we had some really good talks about it. i know he and marco talked too. we all decided to do it again once my husband got back so he could see what it was actually like. so about a week later marco came over for dinner and cooked for us (sidenote, it was absolutely incredible haha) it was def a different vibe with my husband around. i was nervous so stuff went a little slower than it had before. i think marco was nervous too, so i pulled his hand onto my breast again. at that point, im not quite sure why, id be really interested to know but he really seemed to have a fire underneath him. he was pinching my nipples, rubbing them, massaging my boobs, really feeling me up. he grabbed my waist and pulled me onto his lap. he gently pulled my hair to pull my head back and was kissing my neck. for some reason, im not exactly sure why, my husband had been very focused on whether or not marco had been sucking on my nipples, or just kissing them. i told my hubby that he'd kinda been like french kissing them, so that's what i was expecting to happen this time too, so i was surprised when marco really started sucking my tits. it was passionate and felt really good so i was really moaning. i tried to not moan as much because i thought that might hurt my husband's feelings but i couldn't help it. he just kept going and i was moaning out his name for like an hour.
at that point my husband went into our bedroom. i spent a couple more minutes of quality time with marco, letting his hands and mouth explore me and then went in to talk to my husband. he was conflicted. on one hand he said it was really interesting to see such passion, and he liked how sweet marco was to me, not pushing any of my boundaries, not forcing himself between my legs even though I think a lot of guys would expect sex at this point, but of course on the other hand it was really hard for him to see me, as his wife with someone else like that.
after that night, i decided to pull back from being this intimate with marco. im so lucky that we've just been able to go back to being friends, and there really hasn't been any weirdness. marco and i hangout regularly, me and my husband are good, and him and marco get along really well.
any and all advice, feedback or thoughts are greatly appreciated!

2024.06.04 17:34 BreauxSciencePhD FULL TEXT of Variety cast interviews (June 3, 2024)

Variety recently published a piece on Dropout titled Game Changer Season 6 Cast Talks Emmy Aspirations, Favorite Moments and When Dropout’s First Original Movie Is Coming
95% of this article could not be viewed without disabling adblockers, and even then some people reported problems, so I am reproducing the interviews below. Note that the article referenced "a game mimicking the unpredictable rules of the show" which followed this interview, but I have not found any further information about that.

Ally Beardsley

Ally Beardsley (they/them) is a talented writer and improviser affiliated with the Upright Citizens Brigade, a comedy institution and training center founded by Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh in 1996. Despite finding the term somewhat “allergic,” their courage in embracing their authentic self in front of Dropout’s large and passionate audience across multiple seasons of “Game Changer” and other programs demonstrates their determination to make people laugh.
Looking back, how do you view your transition so publicly on Dropout?
I feel like I had the horrifying pleasure of transitioning very publicly and being in sketches regularly.
It was very scary, especially when some parts of your body feel very out of your control. My advice is that kind of old and cliche thing—being is becoming. There is no final form, or I’m “whole” now. I’m figuring it all out, and now I feel comfortable. You’re always going to feel a little bit uncomfortable, and that’s great—that’s being alive.
What has been your experience on the show?
What’s been fun about this is two realities are going on: all of us having fun, and then as “Game Changer” continues to go for more seasons, there’s the “lore” of the show, which I think is inflated because it’s funny. So, messing with Brennan in real life would be less fun than messing with the version of Brennan that appears on Dropout shows. If we get nominated for an Emmy, it would be like Pirate Radio winning a Grammy.

Raphael Chestang

Raphael Chestang has been writing in the digital landscape for over a decade. In 2017, he became a cast member at CollegeHumor. Before that, he was a writer for ETonline. Aside from appearing in multiple “Game Changer” episodes, he also served as the official “referee” for the game the cast played with Variety. Recently married, he had to book a new venue for his wedding day with only four days’ notice because the owner of the previous venue was “on the run.”
How many unread emails are in your inbox today?
4,900, which is a lot better because I had over 11,000. The good thing is that it’s created this movement online where people are now sharing their 49,000 or 110,000 emails. It’s almost like I’ve allowed the people to release themselves from their shame.
Congratulations on your wedding. What is the status of your lawsuit?
It’s ongoing. We have to find them \[laughs\]. They were on the run.

Katie Marovitch

Katie Marovitch has been around since the early days of College Humor and has continued to shine with appearances in its vast offerings, including the new show “Smartypants.” The comedy writer, actor, and director performs improv and standup across Los Angeles. One of the best facts is her short appearance on the “Second Place” episode, where the contestants had to Venmo her the most money for points, which has continued to deliver ten-fold after the producers put her code on the screen. She regularly receives funds from random people (with a few requests that she ignores).
When did you know you had to make people laugh for a living?
I know the exact moment. I was trying to work in finance in college. I was the valedictorian in high school and got to give a speech at Northwestern. I always thought I would go the money route and work in finance. I had a third-round interview at Nielsen, which they flew me out for in New York. While I was answering the questions, the woman interviewing me said, “You are a very strange person.”
I said, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
I thought I had answered everything professionally and was coming off as intelligent. When I left, I called my Dad and said, “That was weird, right?”
He said, “There’s no way they won’t hire you after that because that would have been rude.”
And then I did *not* get the job. And I was like, I guess that’s not like the world for me because I can’t be the little freak I am. And I literally went to LA soon after.
Also, can you share why you Venmo’d ‘Vagina Chocolate’ to Ally on one of the episodes?
I know exactly why… I was buying shrooms from Ally, and they were heart-shaped and reminded me of a vagina, so I wrote vagina chocolate.
Reich: You’re answering this as if you’re in a deposition.
I mean, I do not recall

Vic Michaelis

Vic Michaelis (they/them) hosts the web series “Very Important People,” which was submitted for outstanding short-form series (comedy, drama, or variety) and outstanding performer in a short-form series. One of the most hilarious moments of the day was when Michaelis revealed they did not have a mail application on their iPhone. Instead, they opened the web browser to access their Gmail, which sent fellow castmate Brennan Lee Mulligan into a spiral.
How does “VIP” differ from other shorts that are out there? And what did it feel like to break character so much when Zac Oyama became “Tommy Shriggly?”
It’s a long-form improv show, mostly involving scenes cut into smaller sections, and I don’t think there are a lot of improv cuts like that. When it came to Zac, I saw him upstairs. I walked in, and I didn’t say anything. I looked at him, and I walked out of the room. Do you know when people get bad news in movies, and they slide down the door and collapse? I did that — twice. The interview is about an hour. We get a lot of comments asking what was cut for time, and there isn’t much that’s cut.

Oscar Montoya

Oscar Montoya’s big breakout role was as Richie on the HBO/Max comedy series “Minx,” for which he was honored last year with the Supporting Actor TV Award at the Critics Choice Celebration of Latino Cinema and Television. His talent is only surpassed by his kindness and love for his fellow comedians. In many ways, he has become the heart and soul of Dropout, consistently demonstrating an ability to make people laugh without resorting to meanness.
Were you frustrated by the journey and cancellation of “Minx?”
“Minx’s” journey felt like the equivalent of an uphill climb while a mudslide was happening simultaneously. The critics responded positively, but unfortunately, it didn’t click with the masses. Working on the show made me understand that if you’re happy with the work you’re putting out there, and it resonates with at least one person — that’s the biggest takeaway.
This season of “Game Changer” was a showcase for how loving and nice you are. Is that genuine?
I’m incredibly non-competitive. Being in a contest with a person like Brennan because when he, it’s like, I like to take it seriously. And then when someone tries to get into it, I’m like, Oh, this isn’t mine. And I’m just like a bystander watching. Ally knew exactly what buttons to push on Brennan. And all I had to do was agree and support the chaos that was happening. And it was, it was just so fun. But yeah, I love it when other people succeed, like, I don’t know, I still feel like this whole, just being a part of drop out feels like such a dream, that I am so lucky that I get to do this. And every, like, every time, like every show, every time. I’m part of this. I can’t believe I’m on set with the best people around. And how can I not have the best time to show my love and appreciation? I’m very much, you know, loving languages, like words of affirmation. So I’m like, I take advantage of that all the time. I tell people I have loved them all the time. Because people don’t hear that often. You know? And you can you can feel the love from everyone.

Brennan Lee Mulligan

Host of the indie streamer highly popular “Dungeons & Dragons” series “Dimension 20,” the creator and game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has become a cherished staple and a big part of its rising success. His appearances on “Game Changer” are among the most watched on the company’s social channels.
What are your feelings about the state of Hollywood and making content?
There’s a funny thing that traditional legacy media does: It goes as you come to a cattle call casting. I’ll tell you who you are. I remember a commercial casting director at UCB in New York who went down the line and just pointed at people before we even spoke, giving us what our thing was. The idea that some fucking casting robot wouldn’t know what these people’s gifts are, and more than the comedic personalities that each of these artists has spent years crafting, is something that I hope dies. And I hope that we’re the ones that you kill it.
What will you tell your child when they find your “Yes or No” monologue or “Roseate Spoonbill” online when they’re older? Is there a lesson to be learned?
It’s a great question. The fun thing about the “spoonbill” was that I wasn’t supposed to be there. I was subbing in for Raphael. The things I do on “Game Changer” are very similar to what I do on “Dimension 20,” which is that as someone who’s worked with kids my whole life as a camp counselor, the big thing you want to do, especially if you’re an older brother figure for people, is lose and lose well.
I think the hysteria and mania surrounding being bamboozled is similar to what I do behind a dungeon master’s screen. I play big, scary villains so that people feel like heroes when they get clowned on in the last episode. In a society obsessed with success and victory at all costs, embracing losing is a lovely thing.

Sam Reich

How far away are we from seeing Dropout’s first feature film?
I think the first thing we need to do is drop out and figure out our path back into the scripted period, which we are doing. We’ve got a few irons in the hopper. The fun of thinking about scripting right now is that we know these people so well that writing for them will be a fun exercise. You know, typically, when you’re creating a show, you’re thinking about it, riding forwards, like, Who will we get to play this role here? We get to think about it as cast backward, which is fun. It’s got a few ideas that we’re working on. We’ll take our time developing them to make sure that by the time gonna be great, when they think of your role, it’s gonna be.
I have a pitch to this group: I would love to use a model like “The Big Chill” as an approach to making a feature film. I would take a group of people, rent a house, and do some loosely scripted structured scenes where we’re all playing the closest versions of ourselves. I think that would be incredible.
Where did you come up with your signature opening line: “I’ve been here the whole time?”
What it actually means is that I’m announcing the show, but the camera doesn’t cut to me until I say it. I’m telling the audience that I’m having fun with the fact that I’m hosting the show. But people seem to think that it has a deeper meaning, which makes me want to indicate that it does.

Jacob Wysocki

Jacob Wysocki began his career in the independent film scene, starring in Azazel Jacobs’ coming-of-age dramedy “Terri” (2011) alongside John C. Reilly. This role earned him a Gotham Award nomination for Breakthrough Actor. Since then, Wysocki has pursued acting across various platforms, including roles in TV shows like NBC’s “Superstore.” He was also considered for larger roles, such as the quirky but memorable Shawn in 2017’s “I, Tonya,” a role that ultimately went to Paul Walter Hauser.
With your career starting in the indie circuit, what kinds of things are you looking to make?
It sometimes feels like people don’t know I existed before Dropout — which is fine, and I understand why that is true. But the reality for me is that I’ve been doing this very seriously since I was 20. I did that movie when I was 20. It was the first movie that I’d ever done. The only professional work I had done before was TV or my own stuff. It was the first time in my life that I knew exactly what I needed to do for the rest of my life. It was extremely affirming and placed me exactly where I needed to be in the universe.
What was it like to watch this season’s episode where you were transformed into “super Saiyan Jacob?”
It was like a child’s version of me was somewhat healed. I don’t think it’s a particularly masterful act of comedy, and I think it’s just relatable. I think every person who’s similarly aged probably did that at a time when they were kids. And it’s also fun to scream, and it matches up well with being rambunctious. If anyone had the opportunity, they would do that as well. Katie’s husband did the Super Saiyan animations. What sucks for me is I don’t know how you do something cooler, funnier, or better than that. That’s my own challenge.

2024.06.04 17:25 Mr_Rafi You can honestly improve if you just take a few matches to get used to a new button layout that isn't holding you back.

I would love to know why changing your button scheme from the default to one that actually makes more sense is such a headache for some of you people. X is not a good jumping button in a shooter. It requires you to let go of the very stick you aim with. For those of you who think you remember how it was during the golden era of COD (2007-2012), it's time to take off the rose-tinted goggles and remember that while the games weren't as fast-paced, there were still these movement mechanics that allowed better plays to gap other players. These movement mechanics date not just back to the early 2000s, but the 1990s as well. No offence, but 37 year old Jimbob father of 19 kids isn't remembering clearly when he says "kids these days". I know all of the typical repsonses that you guys like to use. "oh, I shouldn't have to change things around just to have fun", then you're just going to struggle. Like what more is there to say? I assure you everyone who is great at all of the shooters on the market are not using standard button schemes. They're using paddles or anything with a standard controller scheme that doesn't use X to jump or O to crouch/prone/slide.
A lot of you pretend as if it didn't happen, but people used to change up their button schemes back in the day as well during the golden era of COD (2007-2012) to get better use out of dropshotting. Dropshotting was immensely popular back in the day because people struggled with fine movements on their right sticks, so the dropshotter was hard to track as they made themselves a smaller target. Jumpshotting existed back then too. Anyone who used any bit of forward momentum to jump around corners with decent aim could win their gunfights a majority of the time. This is extremely dominant in COD now as well. Every good player is doing this. It's gonna happen to you in XDefiant as well. Also, bunnyhopping was a thing in Counter-Strike too. Some of you actually dont know what bunnyhopping is, it's not just spamming jumping. If you know what bunnyhopping is, you'll know that only a small handful of people are doing it. "Jumping around like rabbits" is not the same thing as bunnyhopping. Bunnyhopping is when you can get a 2nd jump out of the same forward momentum push. Spamming your jump button repeatedly isn't actually bunnyhopping if the term confuses you lol.
Yes, there seems to be a jump spam penalty coming, but that isn't going to save you from the jumpshots. Jumpshotting only requires one jump, doesn't require spamming. Mark Rubin in his latest post even said jumpshotting isn't going to go away. Do you know how many people are getting beaten by jumpshotters in COD and complaining about it? A fuckload. It's going to continue here. Do you know how people dominate with jumpshotting? Button changes. You're also still going to struggle with people sliding past your frame and you having to react. Although strafing doesn't require a button change, it's still a movement mechanic that not everyone uses, so some of you are still going to struggle against strafers. There's a reason we stack ADS Movement Speed attachments in COD. There was a reason why casuals struggled so hard to fight against the Armaguerra, the Volksturmgewehr, and the Marco. Even good/great Overwatch players strafe all the time. What do you think a good baby Dva does when out of the mech suit or a good Kiriko? Or a hitscanner strafing in and out of cover? (this one applies to every shooter, to be fair).
Movement is golden. You'd be doing yourself a favour just by swapping from default to something like Skill Thumb. A lot of COD players use Button Jumper or Tactical Bumper Jump (my favourite). I personally use an Edge controller on PS5 with paddles, but anyone who tells you that you need paddles is lying to you. What exactly do you think Bumper Jumper is? Before paddles, I and many others would use L2 to jump (still do if I am using a standard controller). A lot of good players still do that. Change your slide button to R3, ditch the O. People changed up their buttons in COD, Apex, Fortnite, and XDefiant and improved. Why can't you do the same? Don't you remember when Fortnite was still fresh and people starting changing their button scheme to Builder Pro to improve their building efficiency and left the standard builders in the dust? Do you think people are jumping around with X in Fortnite and letting go of their ability to aim in those milliseconds?
Give it a try. I promise you a few gaming sessions and you'll get used to it. Bumper jumpeSkill Thumb is not that daunting. It's not the bloody claw grip like everyone thinks it is. My hands don't hurt using L2 (or paddles) to jump. L2/L1 isn't that far from where your left middle finger naturally rests anyway. Even in an offline game like Returnal, I would suggest changing your jump, dodge, and melee buttons. That's what every tips and tricks video advised when the game released. While there isn't necessarily a "get rich quick scheme" in terms of "getting gud", one of the fastest and most impactful ways to improve in a game is by changing your button layout to one that accomodates the game's mechanics more efficiently. It just is. There's learning gun recoil and learning maps, but the button scheme precedes all of that. In my friend group, the weakest shooter players are the ones who still use the standard button layout in every shooter. The 2nd method to improving fast and arguably the fastest method of improvement is by changing from a TV to a monitor, but OBVIOUSLY that's a whole other thing and it isn't something that anyone can do in regard to how you game, the space you have, or expenses. But just saying, everyone moves and aims better with less eye travel. I remember back in the day when I moved from a TV to a monitor, relatively high recoil guns became easier to use.

2024.06.04 17:24 cusman78 Bulletstorm VR on PSVR2 - Follow-up Impressions (after Eye-Tracked Foveated Rendering patch)

If you want my first impressions, they can be found written against the launch version of game here:
https://www.reddit.com/PSVcomments/19czxj5/bulletstorm_vr_on_psvr2_first_impressions/
At that time, I wasn't ready to be for or against recommending having because I enjoyed what I played, but I also had significant dissatisfaction on graphics and hit-detection. At that time I knew of the reputation of Green Hell as a game from same developers that released in poor state, but subsequently got improved to where people now consider it a good looking game for PSVR2 (I still haven't played that one myself) and their social channels had also made pledges to improve (similar situation as The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR), so I was hopeful Bulletstorm VR would get similar post-release support. I don't know why development teams capable of making the games better (Bulletstorm VR on Unreal Engine) don't hold on the game until they can release in more polished state for better first impressions / reviews, but I digress.
Although, they have had many patches (I was following release notes) making various improvements since launch, it took them ~5 months since original launch to add Eye-Tracked Foveated Rendering as probably the most significant improvement to the PSVR2 version and serving as good enough reason for me to revisit the game and continue to get closer to the experience I originally expected.
I have uploaded gameplay from my co-op experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My follow-up / updated impressions are provided below:
Based on my additional time with it after version 1.3 update, I now feel comfortable recommending Bulletstorm VR for PSVR2. It is no where near close to perfect, but my main dissatisfaction have all been addressed.
It is a sci-fi first person shooter game featuring a single player story campaign with many cutscenes (especially earlier in game). The game is a port of the 2011 original to VR and not a remake, so the pre-rendered cutscenes are presented in theater mode, but the game does provide the option of watching these in stereoscopic 3D which gives them depth.
Although it is a port of an PS3 or maybe PS4 version of original game to VR, it isn't a complete retelling of the original chapter-to-chapter. Some content was cut and other content was added including couple of chapters where you play as trash talking Trishka Novak instead of the original protagonist. Her gameplay is same as the main protagonist except that she has OP beam swords that can be extended in either hand and used to slice up any enemies that get too close.
The game doesn't have Platinum for some odd reason, but it has 6-8 hours of content for campaign completion and more if you go for 100% trophies since there are two higher difficulty than Easy to complete on, plus pulling off 100% of Skillshots possible in the game as the rarest trophy and many situational miss-able trophies that you can use chapter select for. That 100% skillshot trophy was bugged at launch but has been achieve-able for a few months now following some early patches.
The gameplay is arcade style action shooter where soon into the campaign you get an electric whip for your left-hand while using your shooting weapon in your right-hand, but you can also dual wield weapons once you have more than 1. The electric whip can be aimed using either your head or hand controlled through options. Neither option works as well as Synapse did for telekinesis using eye tracking but it works well enough for what the game needs where you have to accept it doesn't have as much range as you can see. The weapons allow different styles of reload (button, immersive, or hybrid) and each have an alternative firing mode which the tutorial heavy intro of the game didn't cover (use top button of controller holding weapon to activate if you have charges available). There is also a skillpoint based progression system to upgrade your weapons or electric whip which opens up early into the campaign as part of the story progression. The game encourages you to perform fancier takedowns of enemies by using your kicks, slide, electric whip, and environment by awarding you more points, which in turn allow faster upgrades. Getting to max upgrades is quick and easy so beyond that you mainly spend your points to add charges for weapon special attacks.
The AI is simple with types that rush you or take cover positions, but I don't consider it too easy because if you play dumb, you get dead and have to replay an engagement until you can get to next checkpoint. I think the updated game has been made more forgiving on Easy with how much damage you can take before you are dead and have to replay from last checkpoint. Hopefully that means Normal / Hard are tweaked to be more challenging as well. Whenever you are taking damage, your screen starts to fill up with red blood splatters and you need to find / take cover to allow health regeneration to take place. Alternatively, if there is a device (called dropkit) in the area that lets you get into the upgrade menu, using your electric whip to touch that (including during combat), you get healed.
The game starts you out quickly asking a few preference questions to get game going, but actually has much deeper customization options. You can control how hold vs toggle works for weapons vs items and for how your off hand grips guns vs main hand. You can enable tunneling with sliding scales for different types of activities but I was happy with the default of recommended. Pretty extensive set of options for VR comfort and preferences.
The game isn't making use of the PSVR2 headset haptics, but it is using the resistive triggers and a variable scale of controller haptics are being used as well. I've felt it most when activating and using alternative firing mode or when magazine empties or using Trishka beam swords.
The game at launch looked much worse in headset than video-capture (which also didn't look good) and there was a shimmering vibration for all menu systems that made text harder to read. Same for subtitles that displayed below the stereoscopic 3D cutscenes. The game was also missing adequate hit detection when enemies were being shot with weapons. All of these issues are addressed in the updated game. The game looks better in-headset now than the video-capture which is also improved. There is no shimmering vibration on menus and all text is crisp and clear and easy to read. The cutscenes are still pre-rendered but their size and quality has been improved (the over saturated washed out look is gone) but this is still lowest resolution part of game. The hit detection is much improved with blood splatter and other animations no longer feel missing.
While all guns / kicks related gameplay has been improved to look / feel right (audio / visual feedback wise) the implementation of Trishka beam swords is unpolished. They work, but there is a delay or sometimes they don't render at all even though you are pressing the grip trigger buttons to extend those blades. They do activate reliably (providing haptic feedback) and can be used to slice up enemies that are close enough but they don't render visually consistently. The slicing also seems to effect enemies with some kind of input lag, so you might slice and think you missed but a few milliseconds later they get sliced.
I think one of the highlights of the game is the use of set piece moments to break up the standard FPS gameplay which was a norm for action games that I feel is missing in more modern games. The game has memorable set pieces like an on-rails section on train with a giant thing (reminded me of final boss in Gazzlers) trying to run you over. There is a cave with giant eggs blocking your way and clearing them angers something that starts a timer and you have to beat the clock to stay ahead of an implied monster as environment is shaking and rocks are falling. I think the game has a good variety of these types of set piece moments that don't overstay their welcome and keep things fresh and interesting before returning to the standard combat.
I should mention that I did experience one hard crash in what I played after 90+ minutes session and it wasn't during anything special (just sprinting towards next area). When I restarted game, I was able to get past there without recurrence so I think game may have possibility to get less stable if you play longer session (memory leak type issue?).
This won't be a game for everyone because it has a crass sense of humor & indulges in creative violence (some of this can be turned down in options), and has game design from an older era of action video games, but for me it is fun gameplay and now with the Gaze (Eye-Tracked) Foveated Rendering patch, it looks probably closer to the PCVR version of the game than Quest 2 stand-alone VR and I think the overall game experience on PSVR2 is much improved because of that.

2024.06.04 17:18 Lonely-Mila24 Am I wrong for wear a cute bikini my friend got me in front of her boyfriend?

So it was my birthday two months ago and I had a party. I got some gifts. My friend Eve got me a “super cute bikini”. I liked it. Said thanks. She had already ripped the tags off but so I didn’t really have a choice.
Anyways. Went to the community pool with my roommate and wore the said bikini. Got in the water. My Roommate immediately is like uhm girl.... I look and see that this bikini is now kinda see thru.
Haha good joke Eve. Anyway, Eve invited me over to her place to hang out with her and her bf and a few others. Most leave and we’re still hanging out. I’m like hey, what if we get in your hot tub? I then go change after them. I met her bf in the hot tub, she’s getting new drinks. I hop in. Immediately, he’s looking at my chest. I pretend I don’t notice and just make small talk. She comes out a few min after. And just looks in shock. Eventually gets in. “Uhh is that the one I bought?” she goes. Yeah I love it. I wear it everywhere. Make up some stuff about how I wore it to the beach, some party with lots of guys, etc. and she’s just like “oh”.
We’re in the tub for 20-30 mins. Eventually get out and change. She approached me after and was like. “Uhm I’m sorry thought you’d notice. But it goes kinda see thru”. I’m like yeah I know why’d you buy me a ducking see thru bathing suit? “She’s like it’s a joke. Wait you knew? So you just spent last 30 minutes flashing my bf on purpose?” I reply I’m just wearing my birthday gift from you.
Anyway. Aita?

2024.06.04 17:17 Toomuchemotion Dissection of the ForMyLastTrick Stickers

I may be delusional, but I got one of the letters in the mail and I have spiraled since.
There are 3 release dates (Ghost, Nightmare, The End). Both released are important releases, pivotal moments of Halsey’s career: the first song and first bold political song, perhaps? Ghost’s sticker is a little ghosty guy saying “you won’t find me here”, while Nightmare has a newspaper reading “woman out for blood”. Both encompass the messages of the songs. So what is The End’s sticker? A clock. Time.
Time is a big theme of this album. There is “LESSTIME” on the record with the red question mark, a play on “Timeless”. White rabbit—Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Michigan license plate reads “Water Wonderland”. As well, I did some digging and THIS IS WHERE I MAY LOSE YOU, there is a ticket of an archeological site in Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico. An ancient (very advanced, read up on it!) Mayan city where the tomb of the Red Queen was found, a name also belonging to the antagonist in Alice Through the Looking Glass. The antagonist of AAiW is the Queen of Hearts (x-ray of the big ass heart). We’ll get back to them.
Magic is another one. Houdini’s title of “Master Mystifier”. A woman playing the cello with a bow that looks like a wand, stars surrounding her. Halsey as a witch—Wizard of Oz? I know many relate the yellow brick road to the yellow and red record.
What do the WoO and AAiW have in common? They’re both portal fantasies. I believe Halsey “falls” into and “travels” to the 70s. We know the sound will most likely be 70s folk/rock. The Michigan license plate reads 1971, K-mart’s logo is that of the 70s, Belleville’s 1971 Winter Carnival… The Spotify playlist is 70s (with one or two modern but 70s sounding, I may be wrong). The Palenque ticket is also dated 1977. The DOLL THAT I CANT FIND WHEN SEARCHING “BIG EYED 70S DOLL STUBBY ARMS”.
In the movie, Dorothy wakes from a dream, like Alice. But in the book, Dorothy was gone for weeks. Multiple variations, narrations. Unreliable timelines.
Like the respective protagonists, Halsey has a target on their back, traveling through a (magical) maze to get back home (compliments card). Who are the antagonists?
Dual identity. Halsey and Ashley.
The Red Queen and Queen of Hearts have been mashed together and easily confused for each other or as one being. They’re two separate characters from two separate books. Sound familiar? There’s also theories that Dorothy is the Wicked Witch, but that is not canon lol.
Alert. Quilt. Southern Belle, a deceptive woman. Channel 17 on Sirius XM plays Yacht Rock. Cigarette. We like smokers and none smokers. A plane ticket. Four eyes. Pics of bralette and skirt and ear. Lamb (sacrifice?) Candy. Pour nous—for us (The End).
The interactive stickers. Also Musical Maze used to be a NYC record shop, open in the 70s with many workers who would come to be punk musicians (idk how big, I’m a fake punk).
Now, Peril is My Pay is a book I read yesterday into 2am today by Stephen Marlowe. A pen name. Who else had a pen name? Author of AAiW. Marlowe had A MANY pen names, even writing under one with a fellow author. This story, smack in the middle of the Detective Chester Drum series, features an antagonist that is supposedly back from the dead (decoy body). Drum travels to Rome (Roman Holiday?) and later France and Germany (both languages featured on stickers). In France, there is mention of a folklore festival, folky, witchy. In the end, the would be victim is saved but the antagonist escapes and jumps 60ft into water, seemingly to his death. Drum is not too sure. There also features a scene of a mirror maze, disorienting Drum, making him “careful not to do Alice-Through-the-Looking-Glass with one of the mirrors.”
There are quite a few lines that reminded me of Halsey.
“‘You don’t sound like a cynic. You sound like a romantic. Romantics always get disappointed with the world and make like cynics.’”
“All I wanted to do was help him. All he wanted to do, every chance he got, was break my jaw.”
“‘…a gun is no woman’s weapon…’”
Anyway, who is to say that the book even relates at all. I may have been extreme with searching so deeply.
But with the decoy body, someone on Twitter mentioned the red question mark is reminiscent to Hitchcock’s “Vertigo”, which features a woman who impersonates another and kills her after OG girl and protagonist travel along the 17-Mile Drive. The impersonator ends up revealing the truth and promptly is startled by a nun and falls to her death. A bell rings. Dual identity.
Well.
Happy release day of “The End”, let me know your theories and if I strayed too far from reality. MWAH

2024.06.04 17:15 ourkinkycrusades Free OnlyFans Update (started last week)

Hello there! It's been a while since I last posted about starting a free OnlyFans post here, and I wanted to give you an update. It's been a week since I started, and here's how things are going:
Subscribers:
I'm gaining around 75 new subscribers every day, but I'm also losing a few each day. So far, I have a total of 419 subscribers. I could have more, but I'm using my backup accounts on Reddit and Twitter to drive traffic to my free page. I'm only advertising my paid page on my main accounts.
Money Made (and OF %):
Today is day 8 (7 full days), and my percentage hasn't adjusted yet. However, I think it will drop to around 10%. Currently, it's sitting at 18%. Over the last four days, I've been making an average of $150 per day, sometimes more, sometimes less. This is great, because my goal was initially $4500 per month (my mortgage), so already on track to make that amount.
Joining my Paid Page:
So far, 9 people have come over to my paid page, so around 1 per day (tracking link). I have heard people saying this rarely happens. While not a lot so far, even 1 per day quickly adds up to $100's per month
Time Wasters:
Firstly, I want to mention that I don't consider people on a free page as time wasters just because they don't spend money. After all, it's a free page. I believe that wasting time is often a result of inexperienced creators (myself included when starting out) not knowing how to set clear boundaries and/or not doing enough research on how to make money efficiently on OnlyFans.
Whenever someone wants to chat, I send them a pic or a text template explaining that this is my job, and I only chat with people who respect me and my time. That ends the conversation, unless they tip.
Overall Impression:
Contrary to what I've heard on this subreddit and when reading online, I think my free page is worth it so far. Especially because it's not taking away from my paid page. In fact, because of how much money I am making with 400 fans, and how fast it is growing, I believe I can reach the top 1%
Additionally, I like it because unlike a paid page, fans tend to stay subscribed for a while. So in a few years, I might have access to 50k+ fans until I retire from this line of work (or I could turn it over to a trustworthy agency at that point, thereby having passive income for years to come)
In all honesty, I have already made connections with a few fans that are really cool to talk to, and respect my time. No one has wasted my time. So not only am I making money, but I am also getting to know some fans, and we are having a good time. I am not trying to work them out of money, and just want to be fairly compensated for my time.
Caveats:
Please note that I've had a paid page for 1.5 years, and I'm in the top 0%. So I already have quite a bit of experience, which I'm using for my free page. Also, I only started a free page after building a large following on social media (Reddit: 100k, Twitter: 50k). This allows me to drive traffic to my free page, so even though only a few people buy stuff, I can still make money.
So, I'm not saying everyone should start with a free page. I would recommend focusing on your paid page and building your social media following first. Once you're established and have a large following, then it seems that a free page is a viable option.
I hope this update gives you a better understanding of how things are going with my OnlyFans journey. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!

2024.06.04 17:14 Own-Reflection9371 Bloated for two years ..?

Hello everyone. I really need someone's help.. I am a 25yr old girl with serious stomach problems that I started noticing in February/March of 2022, and these problems are constant bloating and gas.. I am 173cm tall and now I weigh 63kg. I mostly eat healthy, drink only water and black coffee, sometimes detox teas and that's it (not fan of sodas and juices). When the bloating started, I lost about 6 kg on purpose (so about 57 kg at the time) just to see if it would decrease, but no. I also tried to eliminate carbs, dairy (they cause me painful acne), sugar, bad fats, but nothing changed. I was also on Yazz contraceptive pills during that period for about 5 months and I stopped thinking that they were the cause, then I also went to a gynecologist, but they said that there were no problems in that area (I was on pills because of painful periods, although they are regular). Before 2020, I was also about 6 kg fatter than now and I never had problems with bloating, only that stomach had a bit fat. I also used to train a lot less than now and have a flat stomach, but now that I train more, I can't achieve that and also, the lower part of the back and the waist retain fat that does not fall off no matter how much I train now or lose weight (which I do not want). The bloating is constant in the area from just above the pubic area to the belly button (I can't even pull that part in, it's just swollen and hard, and when I bend over it looks like all the organs and air are pouring into that lower part, it doesn't break like fat but remains round), while the upper part of the abdomen swells when I eat, but usually subsides in contrast to the lower part. I also went to a gastroenterologist, but they can't see the cause. I used probiotics, gas pills, lactulose syrup (I stopped because it made it worse and the gas was smelling rotten), enzymes, nothing helped. I did test on food allergens, a stool test for parasites three times as well as sex hormones three times during that period, a blood count, a test for celiac disease and lactose intolerance, thyroid hormones, two ultrasounds of the abdomen, checks for heliobacter p., everything is in order and without any indicator of what could it be. Sometimes when I don't eat after 8pm until the morning it goes down, but the longer I stand and eat or drink a drop of water (and even if I don't eat) it swells up again... And the stool is different than before, when I could go whenever I ate, and now it's mostly one a day (sometimes it skips a day or two), and I really have to make an effort to do it. It affects my daily life too much,my mood, I stopped going out because of the bad look and feeling, and I really need it to stop. After all, two years is not a short period of time.. What should I do?

2024.06.04 17:14 SparkyJet SparkyJet Reviews MLPFIM: Day 4 - (Dragonshy and Look Before You Sleep)

S1E7 - Dragonshy! This episode's focus is about a sleeping dragon in a mountain with close propinquity to Ponyville. The snoring from the beast is covering the town with a thick, heavy, dense smoke. Princess Celestia instructs Twilight Sparkle to ameliorate this fiasco. With the help of her best friends, The Mane Six, Twilight treks forward on a mission to stop the snoring dragon and make the air quality in Ponyville more sustainable so all equine ungulates can respire in peace. However, the timid and meek pegasus, Fluttershy, is terrified to join the mission, and causes mild ire in her friends.
Rewatchability: 6/10 rank. Slightly above Applebuck Season for me. Dragonshy does have some fun moments. The A-Team reference, Dash getting increasingly annoyed with Fluttershy’s antics, how each pony tries to sway the dragon to leaving the cave. Additionally, seeing a full grown dragon for the first time, as oposed to Spike, the baby dragon we all know and adore, was refreshing. He had some quirky lines and it’s interesting to watch the dialogue between him and Fluttershy during the episode’s denouement. Granted, it’s not something I’d go out of my way to rewatch, but each viewing would be enjoyed.
Humor: 8/10 rank. I’ll go well above average here. Angel’s smokers cough in the beginning of the episode. Pinkie’s rubber chicken. Her ridiculous ensemble to make the dragon laugh. Rarity losing 35 games of tic-tac-toe to Pinkie Pie. The way Rainbow Dash just storms in the cave and bucks the dragon in the face. These elicited a few chuckles from me, and still do on subsequent viewings. Moreover, Fluttershy apologizing to the dragon for Rainbow Dash’s brash actions of kicking him, only for Rainbow to stare in the camera with a gaze of befuddlement is good hysteria. Additionally, the avalanche that Fluttershy causes, despite being a serious and potential deathtrap for the ponies, is funny. A leaf falls on her and she squeals the word in such a cute way. This episode is packed with humor.
Songs: 2/10 rank. Does “Hop, Skip, and Jump” even count as a song? It’s not even half a minute long. Well, it was nice to see Pinkie instill some confidence in Fluttershy over her apprehensive demeanor of scaling the mountain and crossing a gorge. Though, the gorge looked to be three inches in diameter. Still, a sweet moment.
Plotline Enjoyment: 7/10 rank. It was a good choice to have five of the six ponies be determined to stop the dragon and one to act uneasy. Rainbow’s juxtaposition compared to Fluttershy is a nice touch. The braggart pegasus constantly having disdain for Fluttershy’s timidness and detours and fears was enjoyable. Applejack offering to take Fluttershy around the mountain was touching. Shows why AJ is the motherly role of the group. I enjoyed the A-Team reference. The different tactics that the ponies used to remove the dragon from the cave was nice. The pacing worked too. No problems with that. Decent score in this category.
Would I recommend this episode: Yes.
Overall: 7/10 rank and a solid B. I place this grade between Applebuck Season and Griffon The Brush Off. Almost four solid episodes, except for the cesspool that is Boast Busters. Ick. Dragonshy does a fine storytelling job. The plot is believable. This episode contains many funny moments. Seeing the ponies’ escapades and mild quarrel over something as trivial as walking up a mountain is still enjoyable.
Question: If Fluttershy wasn’t present, would the rest of the Mane Six have the ability to cast the dragon out of his lair and save Ponyville?
In conclusion, Dragonshy isn’t a phenomenal episode, but it’s nowhere close to the dumpster fire that is Boast Busters. It’s a bit more than decent in grade. I wasn’t bored at any point watching this episode. My final anecdote is that seeing Fluttershy stand up to her friends after the dragon began to fight back was a sweet moment. Even the most laconic can have a strong loud voice to unleash in order to defend their friends. Two-hundred and fourteen episodes to go!

2024.06.04 17:11 St3fanz I fired a client yesterday. It was insane.

TLDR: I’m a general contractor. Just about to move into finish phase of a pretty significant remodel of a home. The client had started to become increasingly insane. Crossed so many boundaries, proven to be a liar. Ditched him yesterday. It nearly went violently sideways
I got a text on Thursday from my client (who’d decided he needed yet another two days of no interruptions, while complaining about the the job taking too long) asking why we had installed old beaten up caps (he called them plugs) on his exterior doors.
He sent me a pic, and I explained they were preexisting, and were through-bolt caps for the door handles. Thought nothing more of it.
At 10:30 that night I’m hit with a barrage of texts. The main gist was that I was a liar, had insulted him by telling him he didn’t know what his house was like, demanding an explanation. I is usually don’t need to set boundaries with my clients about not doing insane things, so I responded with the same explanation, and that he was confused. He escalated quickly, sending me pictures of the doors and stream of text outrage about being a liar, being insulting to his intelligence. I took one of his pictures of the door ajar, and drew an arrow showing how the lower part of the exterior handle was connected using a through bolt, the other side of which was the cap.
This was the culmination of a back and forth (mostly him ranting, like in a drunken fury) and at the end, when it was definitively proven, he just said, “Oh. I need a break from this. It’s too much dealing with you,” casting himself as my victim.
I’m somewhat adverse to the misuse and weaponization of pop-psychology terms, but this was yet another example of weird narcissistic behavior from him. There had been other stuff in the past, including him just lying about things.
However, navigating difficult clients is part of my job, so I just said to myself “Get through the project, move on, forget it.”
Fast forward a couple of nights to 2AM. I’m asleep in bed with my wife and my phone is on dnd. He sent a total of nine texts about his thoughts on paint color and hit “deliver anyway” making me think there was some sort of emergency happening. AT 2AM!
It was at this point the penny dropped. This was revenge for the six or seven mistakes he’d made during the project. A clap back at me for his embarrassment.
My work carries a one year warranty in my contract. The finish work (what we excel at) would be the easiest element to make a year of frivolous claims about. Having learned that I can’t trust him, I knew it was time to exercise my right to terminate the contract.
I contacted him the next day requesting he advise when had paid his (late) invoice and asking to meet. He said he’d process payment at 9AM and we could meet shortly after. I (for obvious reasons) didn’t want to walk without this invoice being paid. I should note that the invoice reflected wages I’d already paid, materials I’d already bought, and payments to subs. Of the $8k, perhaps >$1k was my earnings for the week, but I didn’t want to be exposed to the tune of eight grand.
The day started and I waited. By noon, nothing. At 1, I sent him a friendly message asking what his day was looking like, as we had plans to meet and have a discussion, along with requesting he notify BMW when he’d cleared his invoice. At 3 (so my whole working day, and that of my colleagues was wasted again) he notified me that he’d made the payment and could meet. I checked my account, saw a payment, and headed over.
My plan was to first remove all tools and materials from the site, then terminate. The first part of this went fine. Vehicle loaded. I went back inside to talk. He was at his dining room table with a bunch of swatches and papers in front of him and awkwardly, his elderly mother was sat on a recliner in the same room.
I wanted to be as gentle as possible about boundaries. I was willing to complete the project with a hold-harmless agreement from him too. I was not in a combative mood. I opened with saying that we needed to discuss boundaries around contacting me, but before I was able to finish my first sentence, he interrupted and snarled “I’m the client. You work for me. I’ll contact you whenever I feel I need to.”
My immediate instinct was to just smash his head into the table, something that may have happened had his mother not been there. Immediate blackout rage. When I came to, I was stood up, silent, and he was still talking.
I took a few breaths, reminded myself how losing my temper has never had a good outcome and told him we should take a walk outside. I just needed a moment to calm down and a change of scenery. The house is on the seafront. I didn’t wait for him to agree, I just started going and he followed.
The walk let me breathe, gather myself, calm down. Outside we sat down on a bench and I told him I was going to speak, and he was going to listen. Then he could speak and I would listen. He started to argue this point and a bubble of anger had me tell him firmly to shut the fuck up. I think it was at this point, our physical differences came into play. I’m a large strong person. He isn’t. It was obvious I was close to losing my temper. He did the math, was quiet.
I asked him if he had any other professional relationship in which he’d feel comfortable calling the other party a liar, or drunkenly contacting them at ridiculous hours. He wouldn’t answer so I just pushed until he said no. I explained to him that this is because he is a closet classist, and sees my work as beneath the work of other professionals. He actually agreed that he did! With my mind blown a little, I went on to explain that lying and harassing someone, then casting yourself as the victim (at the end of all his bullshit exchanges where he was proven wrong or his lies were called out, he’d say I was exhausting to deal with, and he needed a break. Never an apology, or even an acknowledgment that he’d acted highly inappropriately. Which is fine, I don’t need that. But casting yourself as the victim after victimizing someone? No!)
I told him he showed worrying narcissistic behaviors, had been proven untrustworthy and was highly disrespectful and I was terminating our agreement.
He started to go mad, which I found really relaxing and somewhat cathartic. It really took the edge off. His first reaction was to threaten to sue me. I advised him to read the “right to terminate” clause in his contract. With a smile, naturally. He then told me I had to complete the project, just because he needed it done. I smiled and just said no thanks.
His rage turned into a weird tantrum then. He went back and forth between pleading and threatening (legal action, attacks on review sites about my business, blah) - he then switched and asked if he could talk and I just listen. I said nope, we were done, I advised him to use his energy to find a new contractor rather than pick a fight with me, and I warned him that I would come after him full force if he attacked my credibility.
I left for my vehicle to the sounds of him yelling threats and insults and it took every bit of self-control not to turn around and throw his ass over the bluff.
Tuens out he underpaid his invoice by a grand and change, meaning that I basically pay ~$2.5k to have him out of my life forever and move on with one of the many clients I have who love and respect what we do. A fucking bargain.
I’m very friendly with the high end lumber yard here. We chose a bunch of the live edge woods together and it’s his name and address as the recipient, albeit paid for on my account. However, he did sign intent to receive delivery, so I’m going to have them refund me and bill him. I have a great reputation with them and they have enough on paper to make this switch. They also don’t fuck about and will put a lien on his home if he doesn’t pay. So all going to plan, I should come out of it a wash. He was an asshole (super embarrassing for me) while we were there and the guy I deal with, we have a 10 year relationship. So I know he’s going to get it.
I guess that’s it. Whatever you do for a living, don’t put up with crazy, don’t accept classism.
