I use MYOB for a small accommodation business (record income and expenses). Got it as part of the digital adaptation program for free, but have been paying $31 / month for a heap of features that I don't use (payroll, etc).
I found a much cheaper piece of software that does exactly what I need it to do.
I've got 3 years worth of expense receipts which I'd like to migrate to the new platform, but I can't find any simple way of doing this. Have tried searching for methods, but haven't come up with anything.
Only way I can see is to manually download each invoice and upload to the new mob.
Anyone have any bright ideas? I hate being locked into these providers.

hello everyone, I am new to azure and just signed up for Azure with github student develop pack and am getting B1s (1 CPU and 1 GB Ram free). I am trying to figure out which OS would be best to run my rdp on. I tried Windows Server 2022 and 2019 it somehow works but extremely laggy.
I should be using the server to run some python files but I am unable to run browser in order to download and install Python 😅

Hi! my name is Raf (male 32), English is not my first language, but I'll try my best to do a little summary in the way I am getting thru day after day in this batshit crazy planet that's spinning all of us at unfathomable speeds haha.
Anyway a bit of context, I am a psychologist (still haven't finished my degree but I'm getting there) did also a degree in Mechatronic Engineering, and for a while I have been wondering how I'd like to spend the precious and little time we all have left, I live in Mexico City and we are running out of water as we speak, we also have been having power cuts due to the extreme heat, and our farmers are really struggling to get the crops going for next year apparently, long story short, the short to immidiate term seems pretty gloomy. However I've been trying to come up with steps or things to help me stay clear-minded and be less anxiuos about what's to come and would like to share some of the ideas I have.
First: Physical fitness Regardless of your region, the expose to collapse you have, the probability of it, or whatever is out there to get you in terms of climate emergency, you will need to be in the best shape you can, either moving, migrating, fighting, escaping, digging, or just your regular 9-5 and commuting to your job(s) or school you will need physicall fitness. The more you have the better, you can use youtube, there are so many creators that use bodyweight or little to no equipment, if you have a park use it (walking is an amazing excercise), if you have just a room I am sure you can come up with something to do at least a few minutes a day, resistance bands are great to! is important for generating a sense of well-being, purpose and you'll see the difference in the little things, like squatting to get a pencil you dropped or getting out of your chair at the end of your shift, less achy after driving, and just overall feel more capable (the mental aspect of challenging yourself everyday to train or get a workout done can't be overstated) set immidiate, short and long term goals. Whatever life has to throw at you, you'll need to be able to get there(or get out of the way haha), and ensuring you have the best fitness you can is a great way of making any task easier or at the very least bearable.
1.5: Dental health Can't ever be overstated how important your dental health is, is crippling (both financially and physically) to have a tooth ache, I guess we all have been there one way or another, but it has been proven thru centuries that having a good dental hygene can be a desiscive factor in a matter of shit hitting the fan, as dental health is linked to heart issues, mental issues (self image, or just people going crazy with the pain) floss and brush your teeth as much as possible, again there are tutorial about how to correctly brush your teeth, the more you can delay losing them the better, and the better shape you have them, the easier things will be in the long run.
Second: Enjoy the little things. I live in the city, admittedly there is a lot of public transport so walking and getting where I need to go is not always super hard, but that doesn't mean is always pleasant, the heat guys is crazy, the metro is hot and humid, crowded, buses are the same, and is toil to get wherever you need, to get on time and in a presentable manner. However I've realized that while I'm in the public transport or in the car, there's always time to crank a podcast of whatever I am interested in, I am in constant lookout for things to learn and fascinate myself, either with history, a nicely written story(of whatever is your preference), the universe and it's mechanics... you name it, there's always something for you and hopefully you can use those elements to distract yourself while commuting. And then and there, when is hot, humid, crowded and people are in a bad mood (admitedly sometimes so am I) knowing that I can read a book, listen to a story, nice music or whatever I am into at that moment, makes me realize that things can always get worse, but it doesn't mean that I have to suffer, and being able to connect somewhere else and take my mind there is an amazing gift we all can do, I try the most to enjoy the little things, things like that.
Third: Learn, learn and learn
So, cool, I got to school or work, gotta do the job regardless, yeah is alienating, and a little trash for sure, but I do it knowing that I have to get something out of it (turns out sometimes the lesson is that you get nothing out of it anyway) but when I get home I try to learn a skill or practice a skill I am interested into, play guitar, sing, learn how to sow, do math (lately I've put myself the challenge of learn and dominate algebra so I can do calculus, I barely passed those classes and super sucked), learn about the way people and societies in the past figured out things that might come in handy for me in the present or the future (i.e. cool myself with no electricity, recipes to cook ingredients I am not used too and learn to put together meals out of all the ingredients I have in hand...yadda, yadda you know the drill) so I try to always to learn as much as possible of as much as possible (sometimes just to do something out of the ordinary) also, rest from learning, learn how to do nothing and be ok with it, boredom is a rare commodity nowadays, enless scrolling, bombarment of bad news, things that the algorithm knows you'll react to and make you angry, sad, or feel big emotions is also a way to paralize you, try to disengage from time to time, 5 minutes, then 10 ,then and hour...until you can do something else with the precious time you have left.
Fourth: This too shall pass I live in Mexico and you don't need me to tell you about the dire state of affairs regarding safety and security, the cold truth is that the world ends every day for someone, thousands of people get killed everywhere in the world, they die in wars, crashes, job accidents, medical emergencies, anything really. In Mexico we say that when you are born, death hides somewhere, sometimes is in your liver, sometimes is hiding in a car that will impact you, sometimes is in a bullet that was manufactured thousands of kilometers way from you, a tree and it's rotten roots that eventually will fall on you..you know, death is hiding anywhere and you never know when you are going to met her, so we developed a mentality of resilience towards death in wich we know we are going to die, it has to make everything beautiful for you, and it's a stoic way of understanding your life will end at some point (to quote the movie "fight club": On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero) . You have a shitty day? this too shall pass. You are having an amazing day? This too shall pass. Your life is miserable and has more lows than ups? This too shall pass, cause in the end we too shall pass.
Fifth: Be generous When I mean be generous is be generous with everything around you but primarily to you. Be generous with the things you like to do and do them for you, be generous to others, sometimes you will be able to give money, sometimes you will be able to give food, sometimes only a shoulder to cry on or comfort, other times you will be able to just look at someone and their suffering and just witness it, that's also being generous. I like to apply what we call "minimum effort law" do the bare minimum for others when such others are using you to offset their labour, the bare minimum for your job, the teacher that dislikes you...but do the maximum effort when being generous, to you, your friends, your family, your community. No one else will have your back, (and sometimes not even them) so that's why you have to be generous to you first, and apply the law of maximum effort for you, also being generous is great for mental health and aspects of your mental hygene, sometimes getting a smile in return for a service lended, any help you can give to someone that doesn't compromise your well-being is a good way to make you feel good too. In Mexico we have a saying that goes "Has el bien, sin mirar a quién" or escencially transtaled to "Do good without looking to whom" in the sense of do good just because you have integrity and the world is full of assholes, the hard part is not being one of them too (at least not very often) so I have found that being generous is a nice way to get me thru my day when I know things are annoying or down right fucked.
Sixth: Meditate and practice grattitude.
When things are tense in any aspect of your life, take a moment to express grattitude about the things you have, but also about the things you don't and the situations your are NOT in, for example, I am grateful I live in a free country, but I am also grateful I don't live in a place that has nothing for me, or a place at war (I mean real unhindered war) or with famine. I practice grattitude every time I scroll thru this app and see the poor devils in impossible situations, like war, migration, famine, violence, instability both economical and political and knowing that I am not there yet is what I am grateful every day and every hour, cause goddamn! sometimes the only thing that separates you from a comfortable living or in the very least not a survival mode is geography and sheer luck, so appreciate you are lucky, cause as I said earlier, never forget there is nothing bad that can't get worse, that being said also the act of taking 15 minutes a day to meditate can be a balancing act that keeps you from throwing everything down the toilet, there are great resources on youtube that can take you thru a guided meditation, stitting still and trying to slow down your mind, listen to your breathing, and making an attempt to clear your mind of thought is an amazing way to decompress and reflect on your well-being.
seventh: Library, use it. "To read a good novel is to live a second life", libraries are the apex of civilization. I am fascinated when I think that humanity didn't have the concept of libraries that were free, open to the public and where you are not expected to spend money and is a trust system based on the fact that you'll return the item that was lended to you, an honor system that speaks loud about how far we've come as a society, so use it! Use the library to rest on a day off, read books or listen to music or sometimes is a good way of feelling accompanied either by the books or the people using it, a place of solemn vivbes where you have to be in silence, but where you can read what you like, the amount of time you want. (obviously within reasonable hours, the poor librarians have to rest too!) I studied abroad in Europe and making friends was a tad bit hard, but being able to spend entire days reading novels, non-fiction books, or whatever I wanted that day is a gift I will cherish all my life. Libraries rock and the fact that you could have one makes you a very lucky person in this planet. If you don't have access to one, try to download the books in your kindle, tablet or phone, nowadays we can have entire collections at our disposal, remeber that being able to read and write, consult a book, and have place to read is an enourmos freedom you have, excersise it!
Eight: Become efficient handling your resourses.
Resources such as water, food, electricity, light (candles or the like) and mostly time are precious, so try to make your expenditure in those the most efficient possible, I know many of you are doing it already but is not idiotic to try and remember to consciusly use and maximize all of them, reduce, reuse, recicle, upcicle, learn how to mantain them because life is maintenance, your stuff, but also your relationships, your mental health, your physicall help, your teeth and everything you come across. I feel the best way to taking care of oneself is to mantain in good condition everything you find useful, wether that be an umbrella, a pair of shoes or boots, a friend, family...maintenance is key.
