I (F 18) met my ex best friend (we’ll call her laura for privacy reasons) in grade 2. pretty normal for elementary friendships. we werent too close at the start but our friendship grew pretty fast. in grade three it was (for reasons unknown) very popular to talk abt s3x and how it worked and what people did during s3x. Laura picked up on this information and tried corrupting me with it. eventually we started having sleepovers quite frequently and during these sleepovers she would try and do things to me while we were alone in my room. usually at night. id always push her off or tell her to stop- but eventually she would overpower me (sit on me or hold me down) while she touched my body. now you may be thinking: “why didnt you just tell an adult?”. i totally should have. but she had made a threats saying she would twist the story and make sure no one spoke to me again. she did this to me for 4 years. during the middle of grade 7, she decided she would spread a horrible rumour about me. it started by her telling her mother that i was hurting her physically at school (once it got out and everyone knew about it- none of my friends believed her because they were always with us when we all hung out and had never seen me hurt her in anyway. everyone else believed her lies though). her mother (note: she is on the school board and was in contact with the staff at the elementary school that Laura and i both went to) started taking control of the “situation”. i was forbidden from seeing Laura and she had called the school to inform them of the situation. this resulted in me being moved to a separate room all by myself. the principal would put me in this room and leave me alone for the entire school day. i wouldnt learn anything and he wouldn’t let me leave because (these are his words) he didnt trust me enough to come back. i couldnt leave to get my lunch, i couldnt use the restroom. NOTHING. he would keep me late after school and make me write apology letters to Laura apologizing about what id allegedly done. he would keep me there so late that i would miss the bus and be forced to walk home in -30 to -40 degree weather. obviously my parents were not okay with this so they stepped in. my mother and i went to speak with her mother about what exactly is going on and why i am being treated this way. she replied saying i was a bad person and a terrible influence. (keep in mind that when Laura and i were friends we played minecraft and lego friends.) my mother obviously stood up for me and at the time i had been very depressed that id stopped eating and was hurting myself so she brought up how Laura’s actions and her mothers actions have ruined my mental health as well as my chance at a good education because i was no longer allowed in the classroom. some rude words were exchanged from both my mother and Laura’s mother and we left. I finished the rest of grade 7 with these horrible conditions but thankfully Laura had decided to move schools and finish elementary at a different school than me. grade 8 was fabulous and i never had to go to the principals office once and had no issues with friends. halfway through- quarantine happened and i moved houses and didnt hear anything about her. grade 9 started and she had picked the same highschool as i did and i still never associated with her but she was still telling people i hurt her and was harassing her. eventually i got called down to the counsellors office. in the counsellors office, they explained that Laura had said that I was making her uncomfortable, which made no sense because I hadn’t been associating myself with her, stood around her or spoken to her in an entire year. my mother sent a email to the school counselor, and he replied, saying he didn’t want to bring up anything from the past, but the whole reason that I was in that office was because of stuff from the past, because I most certainly wasn’t doing anything to her at that point considering I wasn’t associating myself with her at all. anyways my mother contacted the office to let them know my side of the story to which they reply saying they arent trying to bring up things from the past which doesn’t make sense since the whole situation IS in the past. after a while they stopped calling me into the office at all and Laura was still getting called in regularly. her mother still being on the school board obviously gets herself involved then I’m back into the counsellors office. There’s more problems yada yada yada all that blows over basically and people start seeing her lies about me being abusive and they noticed that it’s really her that’s being abusive because she makes threats to her friends to her family, she threatened to hit one of my friends in the head with a lock for a locker because she wouldn’t let her hit her vape and just crazy things. she started doing a lot of drugs and skipping school, skipping class and whenever she would be caught doing these things she would blame it on her brother who passed away like four years ago I mean yes understandable your grieving, but you can’t use him as an excuse for everything. so anyway her mother saying that I am a bad influence really didn’t make any sense considering when she was friends with me we were playing Minecraft and playing with lego friends and NOW shes addicted to drugs and is failing school. Word got out that she’s a liar and that she abuses people and she eventually got called out for skipping school and was sent to the office for all her absences and was kicked out of the school and sent to a special-needs school because she was not learning well at the one that she went to at the moment. So here I am 18 years old and graduating high school with honours and she won’t graduate for another two years because of how much she missed.. Let’s just say she got what she deserved.🤷🏻♀️

In today’s recap we’ll be straying away from the ape talk a little bit, and using the correct terminology. $FFIE will be the beginning of a lot of your investing journeys, and I want all of you smart investors to be confident and respected when discussing this company, or the stock market in general. Don’t worry, I’ll make it very simple for you to understand. Let’s get into today’s recap 👇🏼
We opened up pre-market hours with a price point of $1.33/share, 0.06 cents (-4.32%) from last night’s after hours close. This means some of you silly people sold your shares. How so? Big investors can only do their dirty work during market hours, 9:30 A.M EST - 4:00 P.M EST. That means during pre-market and after hours, shares that are being bought and sold, are mostly being bought and sold by retail investors. I’d like to remind everyone you only lose what you put in once you sell, and we’re winning this game as long as we keep closing over $1/share. These sales can only be explained by buyers allowing themselves to become emotionally overwhelmed. Please remember, there are investors working to bring you the FACTS and EVIDENCE to keep you confident in your choices. During the pre-market, we saw a dip bring us to a low of $1.22/share between 4-5 A.M. From there we saw a steady climb to $1.36/share at 8:00 A.M. This leaves us room to assume retail investors bought shares as they woke up, or at some point before then they put in a stop order for any price range that we passed through during the dip. This is another clean example of how there are investors in this group HUNGRY to hoard all the floating shares.
From there, however, there was some movement and we opened official market hours at a price point of $1.15/share, and here’s where the market opens for the big investors. We continued to fall all the way down to $1.03 a share. This caused a lot of you folks to panic, but the numbers don’t lie, and the following numbers show that smart investors held, and continued to buy while new guys came in and entered the game at a good price point. In less than an hour, we climbed up quickly to $1.15/share and that’s where the real dog fight began.
Right after the 11:05 A.M mark, we saw a whole lot of back and forth action until around 3:00 P.M. if you were active in this subreddit, this was a scary time for a lot of investors. I’d like to remind everyone, especially if you weren’t here Friday (this was the scariest day we’ll probably see for the time being), that what we saw today was normal, and okay, and it was nothing compared to that day. Once the last hour of the open market hit we saw a quick climb from $1.08/share to $1.21/share, in just the span of 30 minutes! That’s a whole lot of buying going on. We closed the market day at $1.14/share, bringing us one day closer to when the Big Investors have to either buy their borrowed shares back or continue to accumulate interest. This is what you hear a lot of investors refer to when they speak about closing above $1/share for 10 consecutive days. We’ve currently survived Day 5, and we need to survive 5 more. (THESE ARE MARKET DAYS, NOT REGULAR CALENDAR DAYS. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WONT COUNT AS DAYS) If we’re able to hold above $1/share for 5 more consecutive days then our contributions as investors, mixed in with the positioning that Big Investors are in, will initiate a process known as a short squeeze. 📈
Today went almost exactly how yesterday’s preparation post said it would (read here - https://www.reddit.com/FFIE/s/pGfAKNpTIX ) What’s more, is almost every single one of you investors did your job. You held your already owned shares and waited for dips to put in your buys.
What does this mean for us?
It means the exact same thing it’s meant the last few days. We’ve been doing great, fighting beyond our best ability and Big Investors aren’t happy with us. They’re only going to continuously try harder to knock us off and like it’s mentioned time and time again, the next few market days are going to be extremely psychological, keep in mind emotions have 0 play in the stock market.
What can tomorrow look like?
With us reaching the halfway mark in our 10 day fight, it only means the pressure is on Big Investors. Because of this, Big Investors will try harder than they have been when it comes to getting us to sell our shares. Due to FFIE being placed on the Regulation SHO Threshold list (BIG news, read here to learn more - https://www.reddit.com/FFIE/s/1lGoTBpkFO ), we can take educated guesses and expect to see tomorrow’s market play our side, but absolutely not too different than what we’ve been seeing so far. A lot of smart investors may watch for dipping trends so they can continue to buy at discounted prices. Buying at the absolute bottom of the dip does not help, so try to time your buys for the start of dipping trends!

I have lots but this specific one makes me chuckle every time I remember it… When I was in high school I wasn’t much of an introvert, I had lots of friends and was one of the most famous people in my class.. But I had a problem talking to girls I had a crush on… It was a new session and we had this new female student that’s everyone was talking about because she had this type of ‘Bad teenage girls in movies persona’.. For about 3-4 years before that I did not like anyone because of another funny thing that happened, so I gave up on love… But i decided to try my shot with her because why not…. So we hit things off and started talking, it was 1month in and I started to develop what I thought was feelings for her… That was the moment the shyness kicked in. 😂 Our class had different arms ( let’s call them A and B ) I was in one she was in the other , we had different class schedules so we didn’t interact much.. I’d always avoid her when it was lunch time 😂I would not leave my class and always stay with my friends. We would cross eyes once in a while but it’ll just be a hi… We always still text each other.. So one fateful day, we were chatting.. she confessed her feelings for me.. I did not know what to say.. so I said I also felt the same way..

Her life was very bad. I told her that if we got married we could get a house on base and she could go to college here (the army would increase my pay to accommodatethis). At first she said no since she didn't want to be locked in with someone, but one day when I got home from a week in the field I turned on my phone and was greated by hundreds of texts and missed calls. She had packed a suit case with a few cloths, her birth certificate, and her SS card, and was living at my mom's house. (My parents divorced soon after i left and could only take their anger out on eachother. They became really chill once they were apart and even apologized for everything they put me through. It's not a perfect relationship, but it'sreally not part of this story so I'llskip it)
I came down with a 4-day weekend pass and we got married in the court house. She came up and we lived on post. The abuse was way worse than I originally thought. She refused to live anywhere except on posy because she wanted to be in a super secure area her father and step mother couldn't find her. She had panic attacks whenever she saw cars that looked like theirs. The first 6 months were the worst. She would cry herself to sleep every night. Every morning I would wake up to her quietly sobbing. I would go to work and when I came back she would still be quietly sobbing in the corner I left her in, yet somehow the house was trashed. I would cook food and beg her to eat it and drink water. She would reluctantly. Then she would cry herself to sleep and the process would begin again. I got her into therapy and signed her up for college. That seemed to help some, but she was still a mess.
Fast forward and we've been married for 7 years. She has never held a job sighting her mental health as the issue. It was fine since I was very good with money and could provide for both of us. Her mental heath got a little better, but has never been good. At one point she gained 80 pounds ordering Uber Eats and Insta Cart. Apparently she didn't want to go outside so she needed food delivered. She wanted to self harm, but couldn't do it in normal ways since I would see and make her talk to her therapist about it. Instead she had incredibly greasey unhealthy food delivered to our house and would eat it to give herself a stomach ache. She spent over $10,000 over the course of a year doing this. I didn't notice because she said she wanted to feel like she contributed to the house by taking care of the finances. I trusted her to do that and never questioned her about it. (My fault, I know) She was also slightly underweight by about 5-10 pounds when we first got married and my mom was overweight and constantly told me to never question a woman gaining weight so I waited too long to start asking questions about that too.
Recently I was chaptered from the military. A very long story short, she started constantly attempting suicide and because I was busy taking care of her so much I was non-deployable for too long. They had to let me go. I lined up a job as a cop for when I got out, but ended up tearing my ACL in a motorcycle accident. That meant I needed to get it repaired and go through physical therapy before I could start the job. In the mean time I had to move back in with my mom and my wife had to move back in with her mom. (Niether house was large enough for both of us to live)
When it happened my wife was very upset, but didn't seem to give me much sympathy. More anger than anything. She started to act better when I called her on it though. Later she told me she didn't want to have sex since i had gained weigbt since the accident. Not being able to walk/ exercise and stress eating from all your plans on how to survive crumbling will do that to you. I've gained about 20 pounds in the last 2 months. Side note, she has never lost the weight and has even put more on. She is currently 50 pounds over the highest weight she should be for her height and age. I do have a belly, but I can still benchpress over 300 pounds and you can still see most of my muscles.
Today I got a letter from the VA saying that I would only be given 15 physical therapy appointments. The physical therapist had told me earlier that I would probably need at least 40. I went to the physical therapist to come up with a new plan since obviously the old one needed to change. When I talked to my wife about it, before I could even finish talking she got angry and said we couldn't afford it. She then said that I would need to do more Uber because her part time job couldn't cover it. I got angry that it seemed she only cared about how my issues affected her. After about a half hour fight she apologized and said that her mom is still abusive and that she is jealous that I get to live with a mom who isn't. (Her mom yells at her sometimes, but it's nothing compared to what her dad and step mother did though. Not saying it's good, but there's really nothing I can do right now. The only jobs I'm qualified for require me to be able bodied and I'm not right now. She also isn't qualified to get a job that can pay bills because she's only worked fast food jobs for short stents and has a 3 year employment gap.)
Since we've gotten back she has quit 3 part time jobs for various reasons and I feel like the burden to fix everything is all on me. I'm usually fine with that because I loved her and cared for her, but over these last few months I feel like she doesn't care for me at all, only what I provide. It's made me fall out of live with her. Would I be the A-hole for divorcing her?

I (26f) just found out I’m pregnant after having revenge sex with the fiancé (35m) of the girl (30f) who my ex boyfriend(32m) cheated on me with for 2 years.
My ex and I met when I was 20 but were only friends until we started dating 2 1/2 years ago. I found out last year that my ex had been cheating on me for basically our whole relationship with a girl he met through a mutual friend. I broke things off after I found out and told the girl’s fiancé about their affair, he ended up breaking off their engagement after he found out and she seemed nonchalant about it until she realized that my ex’s money wasn’t actually his (my grandma left me a lot after she passed back in 2019 and my ex had been flaunting around the things I’d gifted him throughout our relationship to her, even going as far as to claim that the house and antique car my grandpa left for me in his will were my ex’s).
It’s not something I’m proud of now that I think back to it, but I did allow my ex to walk all over me for the first month or two after I broke things off because I missed him so much, I gave him money and tried to make things work but would always get reprimanded by my parents and friends when I’d run to them crying after he ghosted me for her, I didn’t officially give him up until the girl’s ex fiancé messaged me and told me that she was rubbing it in some of their old friends’ faces about how pathetic I was and how desperate I was for my ex who didn’t even give an f about me. I was really upset and asked him if he’d be willing to meet up with me because I knew that if I talked to my parents or friends about this, then they’d just lecture me even more. He agreed and the two of us met up at a random food cart place, we ended up spending most of the day just exploring and talking about how we were doing.
He’d also confided in me about his relationship with his ex, they’d known each other for 10 years and they’d liked each other for most of the time they were friends but he wasn’t looking for a relationship because he was focusing on school. He had decided to give them a chance after she’d driven 12+hrs overnight to him because they’d talked on the phone and he said he was feeling under the weather and was stressed from how vigorous his residency schedule was. She’d dropped everything to take care of him, help clean his place, and made him some home cooked meals after finding out that he was surviving off of vending machine snacks and instant coffee. He told me in detail about how he’d never felt so loved and cared for, how after she’d done that for him, he’d decided that she was the one; that if this wasn’t love, then love wasn’t real. Finding out that she was cheating for the last two years made everything click into place, she’d been pushing off getting married, telling all her friends that she was having doubts about him. He’d been trying to convince her into going to couple’s counseling when I broke the news to him that she was sleeping with my ex.
I felt like a monster, hearing their love story and then realizing that they didn’t get their happy ending because of my ex and I messed with my head. We continued to talk from time to time, checking in on each other and meeting up for quick bite every now and then, we lost contact after the girl my ex cheated on me with somehow convinced him to take her back. I became slightly depressed after he cut me off, explaining to me that he was still in love with her and wanted to work things out, which meant a clean slate.
I found out through some internet snooping that my ex cheated on her too, which was why she went back to her ex fiancé. A few months passed and things went back to semi-normal, I started getting therapy and was about ready to put myself back out there to try out the dating pool again when around new years I got a call from the guy, he was crying and asking if I was available to talk, I of course said yes and out of concern met up with him at his place. He broke down to me and told me about how he’d found her and my ex in his mom’s guest bedroom during Christmas when she’d snuck him in for a quickie during his family’s busy holiday party, all hell broke loose when he’d found them in the guest bedroom after spending 20mins looking for her everywhere. We drank a bit and ended up having sex, he apologized and told me that it was a mistake and he wasn’t in his right mind, that he just wanted revenge sex but it didn’t make him feel any better after. I tried to message him platonically a few times after to see if he was alright but he blocked me, so I dropped it and went on with my therapy and life. I went in last week to check with my doctor since I’d been getting bad cramps and to get a new prescription refill for my birth control that I use to help with my PCOS, I had to do a usual test to double check for the possibility if I was pregnant and was very surprised when it came back positive.
I have been sitting on this new knowledge and have been contemplating on if I should tell him, not tell him, or if I should even keep the pregnancy. My doctor did inform that since I am still in the earlier stages I am still at a big risk of having a miscarriage, so I don’t know if I should even be worrying at all about all of this since there is a chance that I could lose it, and then it’d just seem like I was trying to grab at his attention or something, especially after he’d made it clear to me that he wasn’t comfortable talking to me anymore after we slept together. I haven’t told anyone and have been going crazy because I don’t know what to do.

Update - 15 months later
A lot has happened since my original post.
I know a lot of people were against this, but I went through with the pregnancy and I am forever thankful for my beautiful baby. I had originally planned to get an abortion, but I found myself unable to go through with the appointment. (I am pro-choice and always will be. Just because I chose to keep my baby doesn’t mean another woman/girl should be forced to keep a pregnancy they do not wish to continue. Everyone has a right to their own bodies.)
My parents were very upset with me and my whole family disowned me. I listened to what some of you said about letting the father know (will be referring to him as ‘D’), after many failed attempts to reach out to him I decided to go in person. D was not happy when I showed up at his place but when I told him why, he agreed to talk with me. D let me know that he’d officially ended things with his ex and wanted to go no contact with me because I was another tie to his past with her, but he was willing to try and figure out a co-parenting plan with me if I agreed to a paternity test first.
I of course felt a bit bad about the paternity test part but agreed to it since we both had only been acquaintances that bonded over our trauma. Everything was honestly easy cruising until I started to spot around the 26 week mark, my OBGYN explained that while spotting is normal while pregnant, mine was heavier and my blood sugablood pressure also both worried them because of gestational diabetes and preeclampsia risk.
After a few nights of D insisting on sleeping on my couch, I had him help me move some of my things to his place since he lived closer to the hospital. I am very thankful I decided to semi-move in with him when I did bc I went into premature labor at 32 weeks. I am very thankful to have had D and his family as my support system; his mom would come and switch out with him at the hospital and advocated for me whenever I felt washed out or unheard, she helped me both emotionally and physically and stood by me.
D’s mom also helped me work through my emotions when all I wanted was my mom (she and my dad had gone no contact with me after I decided to keep and have my baby). D’s mom was an absolute godsend also because she’s a retired nurse (she started in OB, went to NICU and eventually later settled into lactation before retiring) and explained things to me when we found out that my baby had respiratory problems and had SUA (single umbilical artery) and that it could’ve been a factor into why I went into premature labor.
She stayed with D and I so she could help me with pumping since I wasn’t able to produce milk and encouraged me when I felt like such a failure for not being able to take care of my son when he needed me most, she drove me to and from the hospital while my son was in the NICU because I was healing and so mentally/physically exhausted. I really and truly believe that I didn’t fall into deep postpartum depression because she held me and helped me with each step and was always so patient with me, even when I wasn’t with myself. D’s mom would constantly remind me that nothing was our fault and no one did anything wrong, it just that everyone is faced with hardships in life and this was one we’d work together to get through.
My son graduated from the NICU and came home a month after I did, D’s mom visited us often and helped with him since D and I are first time parents. D’s dad joked that he felt like she and I had the baby together and he and D were both just background characters that make guest star appearances every now and then since D was working so much in order to build more PTO and his mom wouldn’t bring his dad along when she’d come visit since she didn’t want him to disturb me and the baby with his loudness (D’s dad is hard of hearing and can sometimes be unaware of his volume so he took no offense to it).
D’s siblings and family members posted a lot about our son because he was the first grandchild and first baby in a long time, D’s youngest cousin is 17 (turning 18 this year). Somehow someone must’ve shared a photo or something, but pictures of us reached my family and my parents demanded I let them meet my son. D was supportive of whatever I chose to do and said he’d agree to them meeting him if that’s what I wanted.
After thinking about it for a few days I decided that I wanted to talk to my parents before I let them meet my son; when we met up to talk, my parents were offended that I didn’t bring my son with us and left him with D’s parents, they said some really hurtful things and then my dad started to question on when D was going to ask him for permission for us to get married since we didn’t already have a shotgun wedding while I was pregnant. I was okay with them insulting me since I’d grown up with it and was used to it, but once my parents put their target on D and his family I became upset and decided it was time for us to leave.
My parents did try to petition for legal visitation rights (honestly, before this whole ordeal, I did not even know that grandparents rights existed), but were denied because my son is still very young and because both D and I are very much on good terms, are living in the same household, and they couldn’t find or prove that there was any danger to our son’s wellbeing.
My family did try to reach out to us and claim that we were horrible people for denying my parents their grandchild, but no one ever seemed to be able to make a peep when D’s family would defend us and point out that my family had been the one to disown me and that no one cared to see if I was okay until after I had the baby and everything was handled. D’s mom and my mom got in a verbal (almost physical) altercation after my mom had made false reports to cps and called the police to do multiple welfare checks on us, my mom was given a warning by the police for harassing us after one specific incident where she threw a tantrum and caused a scene when the police found nothing wrong in the welfare check and refused to listen to her demands to have my son temporarily taken away from us and put in her custody ‘for his safety’. D and I currently have restraining orders pending against my parents and certain family members.
One of the reasons I decided to update is because about two months ago a friend of D’s asked him out to have some drinks and they ran into his ex-fiancée who later messaged him to tell him that she regretted the way they ended and how she was very hurt when she heard that we had a baby together, especially with it being so soon after their relationship. D wouldn’t talk to me about how he felt, and when I asked him he just brushed me off or switched the conversation onto a topic about our son that he knew would distract me.
I noticed D pulling away from me and how our relationship became a bit awkward and strained after their run in and her message because I know he still has feelings for her and I am afraid that he might feel trapped with me and our son. I also noticed that the drama with my family has made D and his family less patient with me and my son, during Mother’s Day I overheard a few of his family members make comments to D about me being at their family barbecue since ‘I was just my son’s mom’ and ‘not really’ part of the family, D just shrugged and said I didn’t have anyone else to spend the day with.
With how tense things have been, I have been thinking about moving out and back into my place. I stayed with D at his place after I gave birth, but now that our son is slightly older and I am healed, I want to give D back some space so that he can start dating again if he wants to and to give him back some more ‘bachelor’ time when I have our son. I want to find a way to approach me moving out and us making a coparenting plan without making making things more awkward or possibly ruining the relationship I have with D and his parents, I don’t want them to feel like I’m not grateful or anything, but I do want to go back to work and get my life back on track so that I can provide my portion of needs for my son and not want to depend on his family for more than appropriate.

Be honest and tell him exactly what you said here that it’s time for you to start to get your life back on track and also give him back his life. That you will always be coparents and how special and important his parents are to you and your son. Tell him that you want a health relationship with him as your sons father and wish him the best same as he would for you. Just be honest as you find your new normal.

I (26f) just found out I’m pregnant after having revenge sex with the fiancé (35m) of the girl (30f) who my ex boyfriend(32m) cheated on me with for 2 years.
My ex and I met when I was 20 but were only friends until we started dating 2 1/2 years ago. I found out last year that my ex had been cheating on me for basically our whole relationship with a girl he met through a mutual friend. I broke things off after I found out and told the girl’s fiancé about their affair, he ended up breaking off their engagement after he found out and she seemed nonchalant about it until she realized that my ex’s money wasn’t actually his (my grandma left me a lot after she passed back in 2019 and my ex had been flaunting around the things I’d gifted him throughout our relationship to her, even going as far as to claim that the house and antique car my grandpa left for me in his will were my ex’s).
It’s not something I’m proud of now that I think back to it, but I did allow my ex to walk all over me for the first month or two after I broke things off because I missed him so much, I gave him money and tried to make things work but would always get reprimanded by my parents and friends when I’d run to them crying after he ghosted me for her, I didn’t officially give him up until the girl’s ex fiancé messaged me and told me that she was rubbing it in some of their old friends’ faces about how pathetic I was and how desperate I was for my ex who didn’t even give an f about me. I was really upset and asked him if he’d be willing to meet up with me because I knew that if I talked to my parents or friends about this, then they’d just lecture me even more. He agreed and the two of us met up at a random food cart place, we ended up spending most of the day just exploring and talking about how we were doing.
He’d also confided in me about his relationship with his ex, they’d known each other for 10 years and they’d liked each other for most of the time they were friends but he wasn’t looking for a relationship because he was focusing on school. He had decided to give them a chance after she’d driven 12+hrs overnight to him because they’d talked on the phone and he said he was feeling under the weather and was stressed from how vigorous his residency schedule was. She’d dropped everything to take care of him, help clean his place, and made him some home cooked meals after finding out that he was surviving off of vending machine snacks and instant coffee. He told me in detail about how he’d never felt so loved and cared for, how after she’d done that for him, he’d decided that she was the one; that if this wasn’t love, then love wasn’t real. Finding out that she was cheating for the last two years made everything click into place, she’d been pushing off getting married, telling all her friends that she was having doubts about him. He’d been trying to convince her into going to couple’s counseling when I broke the news to him that she was sleeping with my ex.
I felt like a monster, hearing their love story and then realizing that they didn’t get their happy ending because of my ex and I messed with my head. We continued to talk from time to time, checking in on each other and meeting up for quick bite every now and then, we lost contact after the girl my ex cheated on me with somehow convinced him to take her back. I became slightly depressed after he cut me off, explaining to me that he was still in love with her and wanted to work things out, which meant a clean slate.
I found out through some internet snooping that my ex cheated on her too, which was why she went back to her ex fiancé. A few months passed and things went back to semi-normal, I started getting therapy and was about ready to put myself back out there to try out the dating pool again when around new years I got a call from the guy, he was crying and asking if I was available to talk, I of course said yes and out of concern met up with him at his place. He broke down to me and told me about how he’d found her and my ex in his mom’s guest bedroom during Christmas when she’d snuck him in for a quickie during his family’s busy holiday party, all hell broke loose when he’d found them in the guest bedroom after spending 20mins looking for her everywhere. We drank a bit and ended up having sex, he apologized and told me that it was a mistake and he wasn’t in his right mind, that he just wanted revenge sex but it didn’t make him feel any better after. I tried to message him platonically a few times after to see if he was alright but he blocked me, so I dropped it and went on with my therapy and life. I went in last week to check with my doctor since I’d been getting bad cramps and to get a new prescription refill for my birth control that I use to help with my PCOS, I had to do a usual test to double check for the possibility if I was pregnant and was very surprised when it came back positive.
I have been sitting on this new knowledge and have been contemplating on if I should tell him, not tell him, or if I should even keep the pregnancy. My doctor did inform that since I am still in the earlier stages I am still at a big risk of having a miscarriage, so I don’t know if I should even be worrying at all about all of this since there is a chance that I could lose it, and then it’d just seem like I was trying to grab at his attention or something, especially after he’d made it clear to me that he wasn’t comfortable talking to me anymore after we slept together. I haven’t told anyone and have been going crazy because I don’t know what to do.

A lot has happened since my original post.
I know a lot of people were against this, but I went through with the pregnancy and I am forever thankful for my beautiful baby. I had originally planned to get an abortion, but I found myself unable to go through with the appointment. (I am pro-choice and always will be. Just because I chose to keep my baby doesn’t mean another woman/girl should be forced to keep a pregnancy they do not wish to continue. Everyone has a right to their own bodies.)

My first time playing adorned and they are so much better than I thought. With them I free up a lot of skill points and turned travel nodes into tattoos, my first ranger with 100% curse, crit and stun immunity and the jewels could be soo much better. Utmost + MB combo with the 90 all ele res is also quite crazy, wish mine had like 20% more atk speed but settled for this. Also first time using progenesis and yeah, kinda crazy. Imo all of this is needed for T17s, but when you can do them its prob the most fun I had since they axed triple beyond. I love B2B and going back, when u see 10 league mechanics on a map you just gag, prob biased af b that's how I feel.
Also screw that quiver, no +1 proj = vendor, but after feeding it 1k essences I've had enough.

The Key-and-Lock Operation was a division of Project MKUltra and later merged into Operation Mockingbird.
It focuses on audience manipulation and coercion, using "key" and "lock" mechanisms. It works by changing the minds of the audience to a more vulnerable state (lock). Furthermore, it then uses subliminal messaging to implant orders and messages into their minds (key). Since 1953 (possibly earlier), this operation has manipulated the minds of billions.
And this is why the Eiffel 65 song "I'm Blue" is the perfect example of this. The song's chorus sounds catchy and vibrant, luring the listeners into a false sense of calm and security (lock). However, when you reverse the lyrics, it reveals the dark truth.
The song promotes cannibalism, and I have evidence. When the song is reversed, the chorus says, "Eat the body, hide the body" (key). That is horrifying. We have been listening to this melody and loving it for years, yet it was all a ruse. And it is the same for cartoon theme songs.
The SpongeBob SquarePants theme song, when reversed, sounds like a satanic chant. The normal song sounds cheery and catchy, causing millions of unsuspecting children to sing along. The operation has different effects depending on who is listening or watching. For children, it is devilishly easy to coerce their small minds, which is why they insert this into every cartoon theme song—everyone.
And just a reminder: all cartoon studios (e.g., Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, etc.) were created for this manipulative purpose.

The Lion King, Mulan, Aladdin, Hercules, and The Little Mermaid are the dirtiest examples. These movies are recognizable to everyone, and that is the issue. The "SEX" in The Lion King and the numerous amounts of phallic imagery in The Little Mermaid are appalling.
Tell me, how is it appropriate for these jokes to exist in children's entertainment?
Here are their obvious goals:
It has only intensified in recent years. We have shows such as Adventure Time, SpongeBob SquarePants, Regular Show, The Fairly Odd Parents, etc. These shows are the highlight of America's filth and depravity.
For SpongeBob, we have numerous examples of satanism, homosexuality, dirty imagery, etc.
The episode "Rock-a-Bye Bivalve" highlights this.
In the episode, SpongeBob and Patrick adopt a sea scallop after finding it in a coral bush. Afterward, they exhibit clear homosexual behaviors.
In one scene, Patrick says, "If I were a mom (the camera zooms out to show Patrick's body, with him showing his armpits soon after), this would be kind of shocking, so call me daddy!" That line is obviously hinting at homosexuality. Indeed, SpongeBob, the more submissive character, takes on the role of a mom. Thereafter, we see a scene of them in traditional 1950s-era attire rolling Junior, the scallop, in a baby stroller. Later, they meet a heterosexual couple, and they start pondering. A thought bubble forms with "Patrick + SpongeBob = Junior" inside it. A confused look appears on the couple's faces.
The joke is that they are wondering how a starfish and sponge can produce a scallop, which solidifies the homosexual symbolism put upon our children. They did not need that scene, but they put it in nonetheless, and they even included them wearing traditional 1950s clothing. I infer this as a mockery of traditional values and heterosexuality—disgusting.
And finally, we have the worst scene of them all.
In the last few moments, Junior flies away, and SpongeBob and Patrick talk about the end of parenthood. In the final moment, Patrick says, "I guess this is the hardest part of a parent's life, I assume." SpongeBob says, "Yeah, but it was worth it." That is the most disgusting shit I have ever seen. It promotes sexual activity and homosexuality blatantly. I do not know how it passed the censors, but I guess the elites overruled the FCC.

I’ve told this story before I think and my spouse has heard it a thousand times but I will never be over this.
So here’s the story I knew up until I was 23. My parents got divorced.I had asked my mom and dad why they got divorced and my dad always said “we were just different people.” While my mother would just start talking shit about my dad. I was like 9 or 10 and the weekend my dad moved out of the house, my nmom and my grandma took me on a trip to a family reunion (we don’t have time to get into the irony of this). We were at the hotel and I’m swimming in the pool. My mom starts talking to this guy on the pool deck. Now, my Nmom is always making friends/talking to random strangers so I thought nothing of it. My mom jumps in the pool with me and this new guy we’ll call C follows her in. Now this part of gonna sound weird, but I truely with my whole heart believe this man had the kindest of intentions. He was awesome! He taught me how to make big waves with my hands and squirt water by squeezing my hands a certain way. He was throwing dive sticks he brought with him, seriously a cool guy. My Nmom was there the whole time and considering the circumstances, I was having a great weekend.
Next day we show up to the family reunion and who is there but C! I’m like “oh! He’s a cousin. That’s why my mom was friendly with him! Makes perfect sense.” And I thought nothing of this.
That is until I was 23. I was texting my friend (who’s mom is my mothers former best friend daughter) about just how awful my mother is and she responds “I can’t believe your dad married that cheater.” This caught me off guard completely. I asked her what do you mean my mom cheated. She apologized profusely and then said she thought I knew. She knew my mom cheated because her mom helped my mom cheat. Mind you I was at work when this happened and I was losing my mind. What do you mean my mom cheated on my dad?!
An hour later my friends mom texts me and asks what I wanted to know and I said everything. She told me the real story of why my mom and dad got divorced. My mom had cheated on my dad with several men. Turns out my mom was using these men’s credit cards to buy whatever she wanted. My dad found out and apparently the whole thing went down at my friends house where my mom was caught with her new boyfriend.
My friends mom apologized and said she believed my mothers lies about how terrible of a person my dad was so she helped her cheat. That honestly I didn’t care about. My mom did the shitty thing not her and my mom is a professional gaslighter and manipulator.
The part that got me was when I asked for the guys name. She told me she only remembers the first name and it was C. Now I hadn’t thought of C’s name in a long time but I instantly knew who she was talking about.
My mother made me meet the man she was cheating on my dad with the weekend my dad got kicked out of the house due to my mothers cheating.
My mother fucking made me meet him.
I MET HIM.
I had a good time. I would think about that day occasionally about how a random strangelong lost family member cheered me up on a shitty weekend.

When I tell you everything in my life clicked with just the name dropped. My mother has always complained about being poor but has always had multiple credit cards and was always on vacation. My mom was constantly texting people on her phone almost litterally 24/7.
I know to y’all this might seem obvious, but to me this was just normalized. And she had convinced me she was never going to date again after my dad.
My dad is a fucking Saint as far as I’m concerned. My dad had every right to talk shit about my mom but never did. He deserves an award. He lost a house, car, and some (not all) custody of his kids. Fuck my shitty sister didn’t even want to go over to his house at all and didn’t when she turned 14 because my mother had infected her with all of her lies. My dad never said shit. And fuck if he had every right too. My dad still talks good about my mom because he’s a good fucking person.
Meanwhile the cheating Hoebag of an egg doner was out spreading so many lies about my dad. Saying he was a bad dad and never there and always at the bar drinking. All because she cheated and couldn’t have people knowing. Im NC with my mom now but at the time that I learned this, she had financial power over me so I could never bring it up and I had to pretend I didn’t know. Im still mad about the fact that she had me meet C of all things and never told me who he was.

Hi guys. I think I'm going to take a break from this game. For some reason, a lot of things I used to enjoy don't make me happy anymore. I'm sick of it. I didn't use to be like this but I don't know what happened. No matter how good I do, I'm never satisfied, but if I die once I feel like shit. For example, I had an amazing game of offense engineer and felt no satisfaction. I went on an 18 killstreak with aggressive level 2s and destroyed the red team. Didn't even die once. And this was on uncletopia of all places. Had several other great games on uncletopia but it still didn't make me even a little bit happy. I dominanted a 2fort server as aggressive lvl 2 engineer and got a 111 killstreak but I barely felt happy at all. I felt kind of nice for like 5 minutes but then afterwards I craved more. I don't know why I'm like this I just want to enjoy my favorite game again but I can't seem to fix this issue that I have so I'm giving up, at least for now. Maybe maining engineer for so long is driving me insane. I'm not sure. This isn't just with tf2 but pretty much any game where you have to outperform your opponents. The only games I can really play anymore while keeping my cool is hangout games. I'm going on a pointless rant I'm sorry but I just have to get this out. I'm tired of this. I'll take a long break. I'll come back eventually but for now I need to take a break from tf2 and any other fps games. I wish I didn't have to but it's probably for the best. Thanks for listening

I (F 18) met my ex best friend (we’ll call her laura for privacy reasons) in grade 2. pretty normal for elementary friendships. we werent too close at the start but our friendship grew pretty fast. in grade three it was (for reasons unknown) very popular to talk abt s3x and how it worked and what people did during s3x. Laura picked up on this information and tried corrupting me with it. eventually we started having sleepovers quite frequently and during these sleepovers she would try and do things to me while we were alone in my room. usually at night. id always push her off or tell her to stop- but eventually she would overpower me (sit on me or hold me down) while she touched my body. now you may be thinking: “why didnt you just tell an adult?”. i totally should have. but she had made a threats saying she would twist the story and make sure no one spoke to me again. she did this to me for 4 years. during the middle of grade 7, she decided she would spread a horrible rumour about me. it started by her telling her mother that i was hurting her physically at school (once it got out and everyone knew about it- none of my friends believed her because they were always with us when we all hung out and had never seen me hurt her in anyway. everyone else believed her lies though). her mother (note: she is on the school board and was in contact with the staff at the elementary school that Laura and i both went to) started taking control of the “situation”. i was forbidden from seeing Laura and she had called the school to inform them of the situation. this resulted in me being moved to a separate room all by myself. the principal would put me in this room and leave me alone for the entire school day. i wouldnt learn anything and he wouldn’t let me leave because (these are his words) he didnt trust me enough to come back. i couldnt leave to get my lunch, i couldnt use the restroom. NOTHING. he would keep me late after school and make me write apology letters to Laura apologizing about what id allegedly done. he would keep me there so late that i would miss the bus and be forced to walk home in -30 to -40 degree weather. obviously my parents were not okay with this so they stepped in. my mother and i went to speak with her mother about what exactly is going on and why i am being treated this way. she replied saying i was a bad person and a terrible influence. (keep in mind that when Laura and i were friends we played minecraft and lego friends.) my mother obviously stood up for me and at the time i had been very depressed that id stopped eating and was hurting myself so she brought up how Laura’s actions and her mothers actions have ruined my mental health as well as my chance at a good education because i was no longer allowed in the classroom. some rude words were exchanged from both my mother and Laura’s mother and we left. I finished the rest of grade 7 with these horrible conditions but thankfully Laura had decided to move schools and finish elementary at a different school than me. grade 8 was fabulous and i never had to go to the principals office once and had no issues with friends. halfway through- quarantine happened and i moved houses and didnt hear anything about her. grade 9 started and she had picked the same highschool as i did and i still never associated with her but she was still telling people i hurt her and was harassing her. eventually i got called down to the counsellors office. in the counsellors office, they explained that Laura had said that I was making her uncomfortable, which made no sense because I hadn’t been associating myself with her, stood around her or spoken to her in an entire year. my mother sent a email to the school counselor, and he replied, saying he didn’t want to bring up anything from the past, but the whole reason that I was in that office was because of stuff from the past, because I most certainly wasn’t doing anything to her at that point considering I wasn’t associating myself with her at all. anyways my mother contacted the office to let them know my side of the story to which they reply saying they arent trying to bring up things from the past which doesn’t make sense since the whole situation IS in the past. after a while they stopped calling me into the office at all and Laura was still getting called in regularly. her mother still being on the school board obviously gets herself involved then I’m back into the counsellors office. There’s more problems yada yada yada all that blows over basically and people start seeing her lies about me being abusive and they noticed that it’s really her that’s being abusive because she makes threats to her friends to her family, she threatened to hit one of my friends in the head with a lock for a locker because she wouldn’t let her hit her vape and just crazy things. she started doing a lot of drugs and skipping school, skipping class and whenever she would be caught doing these things she would blame it on her brother who passed away like four years ago I mean yes understandable your grieving, but you can’t use him as an excuse for everything. so anyway her mother saying that I am a bad influence really didn’t make any sense considering when she was friends with me we were playing Minecraft and playing with lego friends and NOW shes addicted to drugs and is failing school. Word got out that she’s a liar and that she abuses people and she eventually got called out for skipping school and was sent to the office for all her absences and was kicked out of the school and sent to a special-needs school because she was not learning well at the one that she went to at the moment. So here I am 18 years old and graduating high school with honours and she won’t graduate for another two years because of how much she missed.. Let’s just say she got what she deserved.🤷🏻♀️

I'm going to highly recommend you don't start til Anni, in case you plan on summoning. I especially recommend waiting if you don't feel comfortable with the strength of your team.
First Impressions and Route (here) This season doesn't look too bad. There are more strike cover changes, but a decent amount of blast arts counters. Both kinds of teams will do well but I would suggest using strike teams. None of the fights are insanely hard, I would just suggest having some solid units of each color. Maybe an extra red and yellow as they will do well against the hard fights in the second half.
Teambuilding For 1k cc, 30% tier boost is safe. The easiest way to do this is to choose 1 or 2 high tiers and fill out with strong units. Try using the teambuilding templates here, keeping in mind that these teams are just a great place to start. Star indicates Z/S tier, red X indicates a core unit (you may not need more than one), any unit without an X is replaceable. Credit to a few others on discord for a few of these teams.
I would double check whatever you make with the general guide (now made visual) here first. Reach out if you want help or confirmation for your team, but try to put something together first.

Hey guys, I’m new to Reddit. Please hear what I have to say. At this point I’m just so desperate, I came here for answers, advice, comments, and for just someone to listen bc what I’m going thru is honestly just so painful. Being on this app in itself is a painful asf bc I know my bf has used this for yk what.
I’m 20f and my bf is 21m. We’ve been together since we were 17. I met him when he was going full out on Christianity. He’s schizophrenic so naturally this became his obsession, doing things like saying grace before every sip of water, having these crazy episodes where he still believes the things he was shown, like becoming a famous music artists at 30 and how the only way he’s gonna die is by suicide sometime in his 30s. But this is also how he found out abt his own addiction. Long story short, he became a pathological liar with porn. Constantly galighting, lying, making up stories, cussing me out. I could go on and on abt the times he’s lied, the times when I hear the girls from the vids he’s watching while we’re ft, when I wake up to it on ft, the girls I obsess over, the eating disorders I have, the incredible amount of self hatred. I hate to admit but I have become such a bitter person towards him. The yelling and insulting and the anxiety is just so fucking much. I get huge panic attacks when I hear certain artists out in public playing. It’s just so much.
The lying is incredibly excessive. During a certain period of time, we had “broken up” (this was a normal thing), he had told me he was getting apps to find friends. He even told me stories about some dude. Ofc I’m still seeing him everyday, ofc we’re still have sex and saying I love you. We were still basically in a relationship. We went to the beach, I saw a tinder notification popped up. I lost my shit, hit my hand so hard on the steering wheel I got a bone bruise. He told me he just had bumble to find friends. The next day I knew something bad was happening. He fell asleep with his phone open and ofc I took that opportunity to look thru. What I found broke my fucking heart. 11+ hookup apps in his phone and a few dating apps. Literally all the way to Ashley Madison. my heart stopped. Ofc I took pics of everything, but he defended himself by saying that we “broke up”. Is this part of addiction or was this too far? He’s the kinda person where u shove his own ohoje in his face with the own evidence he left in his phone, he’d gaslight and say he didn’t know what I was talking about and he didn’t know why the app did that. Am I wrong for feeling that way? Was what he did ok since it another “break up”?
Here’s a little update I am sitting next to him writing this and he finally wakes up and he goes on his YouTube shorts which I obviously hate because he’s used it and I sat there next to him and I said “I want to see your feed really quick”, while he’s scrolling and watching I’m literally not interfering. I’m not doing anything but he scrolls through one video and locks his phone and goes back under the covers and obviously it’s a clear sign that he is lying and he’s relapsed. Please tell me I’m not just making things up in my head because this is really suspicious. It has been almost 2 months since his “most recent relapse” and the longest that he has lasted with my help was one month and last time that he “lasted two months” he gaslit me and cussed me out and didn’t know why I didn’t believe him. I obviously found out later that he was lying. Honestly, at this point, I just don’t know what to do because it’s been three years and he’s still in this cycle of lying and relapsing, then lying then relapsing, and it seems like it’s just never going to end. Like, does it actually ever and does it get better without therapy without wanting help from anybody else? Because lately I have just been ignoring him when I’m at my house because I just can’t be on the phone anymore because it gives me too much anxiety, not knowing what he’s doing when I’m not around him. I have literally gotten to the point where when he is in my room alone I have to have a camera on because I am so scared. Should I be scared? Do I have a right to?
He has recently gotten into this thing where he gets extremely pissed at me for some thing that I have not even done. He gets so scared that the reason that he’s going to off himself is because I’m going to expose him to the entire world of everything that he has done to me. like his whole name out there and just “how bad of a person he is”. So he sits there and lashes out in these crazy anger rages because he thinks that I’m going to do some thing like 100%. Like he cusses me out in my own house and ends up leaving because he’s so scared of what I’m gonna do because of all the Shit he did to me. There’s sm more I could say honestly. I could write a book if I wanted.

I am a 58-year-old male - culturally Greek, raised in Australia, migrated to the U.S. and have lived in NYC for over 20 years now. My parents raised my two older sisters – 9.5 years older with 3 children and 4 years older with two daughters, and myself, the only son and youngest of three, Down Under. I left my family in Australia upon moving to NYC in 2004 with my partner. It was tough leaving them behind because as dysfunctional as we were, we all loved each other.
Unfortunately, in the 8 year lead up to the pandemic – first, I lost my father to colon cancer; 2 years later my beautiful mother to vascular dementia; 2 years after that my 14 year marriage dissolved after my partner admitted he had been having an affair with a work colleague for several months; 1.5 years after that my middle sister and dear friend died from a brain aneurysm; followed by my eldest sister who died of lung cancer the following year.
I fell so ill from stress that I developed severe IBS and had to have emergency surgery. I thought I was going to die. If that wasn’t enough, I hadn’t even healed when I caught COVID; lost my job a few weeks later; and, then I managed to survived a home invasion during which I was assaulted and threatened with a knife but, somehow, I managed to get the two criminals out of my space in 7.5 minutes, without a single item stolen. I’ve been through a lot but I’ve always battled through.
My middle sister had two daughters, M1 aged 40, and M2 aged 38. Until my sister passed away in early 2018, I had a great relationship with M1. I was always there to support as she tended toward “unlucky in love” and was also diagnosed with lupus over a decade ago. Her mother and I were always solid support for her, and she would speak to me about any personal problem.
Her younger sister M2 is a very different character and was I was unable to build as strong a relationship – it was not purposeful nor deliberate. I made attempts and managed to get closer to her after she was married but she always tended to be more distant. As hard as I tried, M1 & I sensed that she somewhat resented my relationship with her older sister.
After my sister passed away suddenly aged only 56, we were all devastated. I flew in from NYC and was in Australia for 9 days for the funeral. I spent 7 of the 9 days with my brother-in-law (BIL) - a good man – and my two nieces M1 & M2. It was an emotionally draining stay, with a relentless stream of visitors to pay their respects.
I spent the other 2 days house-sitting for a dear friend which I gladly accepted to secure some peace and solitude. I slept at least 16-18 hours on each day. Upon returning to my BIL’s home for my final two days, M1 approached me and asked to speak to me outside in their back yard. She proceeded to tell me how very disappointed she was in me; that she felt I was an “absent mourner" and not supporting her in her grief in the way she expected; I was also not grieving "appropriately," and that her mother /my sister would be disappointed.
I had travelled 24 hours, in a blur, halfway across the globe to bury my sister and was now receiving bereavement advice from my niece. I told her to quit with the nonsense and that she should mourn her mother any way she likes, but she is not to tell me how I should conduct myself when I’m grieving.
Her voice quickly escalated, and she proceeded to then scream at the top of her voice about how disgusting I was that I wasn’t “there” to respect her mother; and be there for her. I reminded M1 that her mother, was also my sister and I knew her for a whole lot longer than she did. I also reminded her that staying for 7 of 9 days with her, does not constitute “being absent” in anybody’s language.
It was midnight, she continued to scream, yell, abuse me with neighbors being woken up on all sides. I stood up and decided to leave and not put up with her bullshit any longer. I walked inside and caught her sister, M2, ears to the door, listening to everything … and it made me realize they were bothin on this effort to publicly “dress me down”.
M2 proceeded to "stand with her sister" and yell at me, too. I was seriously flabbergasted by their accusations. My BIL certainly did not feel the same way and he told the girls to explain to him what their problem was!?! If there was a real problem – he should be the first to be complaining about me. Their anger and resentment was shocking, inexplicable and totally unfounded. I flew home to NYC two days later devastated not just at losing my beautiful sister - but at my nieces’ disgraceful performance.
In November 2020, I flew back to Australia to visit family for the holiday season as COVID enveloped the globe. I struggled to feel fully comfortable with my nieces, and one thing is for sure: they never apologized to me for their outburst at me less than two years prior. This time it was the festive season and I decided to stay some of the time at BIL's house. Upon arriving, I was shocked - the house was spotlessly clean, as my sister liked to keep it, and everything in the house was unchanged - everything was in the exact same spot, as the day my sister died. I was concerned, M1 was clearly struggling, not dealing with her mother’s death. Even her father, my BIL had started casually dating another woman, and I threw support behind him which he appreciated. M1, on the other hand, was vehemently against this, and refused to give her father’s new relationship her blessing.
Eventually, the inevitable happened – M1 starts to relay a story that I recognized as my own, and after a few erroneous details, I reminded her of the facts that she was actually deviating from. She literally exploded for not allowing her to relay my story… incorrectly.
Yet again, her screams and anger were so loud, that I actually saw neighbors peering over their fencing. She screamed at me to leave "her house" and that I was the devil. (I need to add here that both nieces became born again Evangelical Christians.) I reminded her that the house belonged to my sister & BIL, and she had no authority over whether I stay or not.
Her screams & verbal attack, (the second one now), was so loud, aggressive, and her enraged face so red, that she looked unhinged. I went to grab a mug to make a coffee and get as far away from her as I could. As my hand reached into the cupboard for a mug, she used the cupboard door to p.a. me I saw stars.I stared at her in shock and said: "You just p.a. your mother's brother," at which she just screamed even louder
My BIL arrived shortly after and I told him that I needed to leave. I gave him the facts and then told him: "She doesn't support your new relationship - not because its "too soon" - but because she's miserable and unhappy… and she begrudges anyone their happiness - it eats away at her." She screamed at him to throw me out until he yelled "Shut up!" at her. She then called us both devils and stormed into her room.
Now, a brief focus on M2. It was summer 2017, and M2 was due in November with her second child. Her husband is American and M2 moved here from Australia and were living in the Midwest. I attempted to build a closeness with her since she was living in the US. During a call to her in July 2017, she invited me for Thanksgiving that year to be with her family, as well as see her mothemy sister and BIL who were spending several weeks there to welcome their new grandchild.
I was so excited. I even told M2 that I would stay at a nearby hotel, so as not to burden them with a newborn at home. A few weeks prior to Thanksgiving, I called to confirm my dates, etc., and without missing a beat, she proceeds to tell me that it is now all too much for her and she retracted her invitation …I was dis-invited. I sat there in silence, in shock.
I had discretely asked my sister several weeks prior, whether she would consider visiting NYC with my BIL, even for a weekend, as they were going to be with M2 for over 6 weeks and were so close!
She said to me, "Do you think we haven't thought of that? We'd love to come to come to NYC and see you. But we'll never hear the end of it from ‘you-know-who’."
So, I spent Thanksgiving on my own, with no family in NYC, less than 1.5 hours flying time away from a warm, festive house that contained M2, her family, my BIL and my dear sister.
Less than 3 months later … my sister was dead. And I never got a chance to see her one last time.
That opportunity was taken from me without so much as an "I'm sorry that I did that to you." In fact, I never received an apology from either M1 nor M2 for all the things they did to me.
When I got back to NYC from the disastrous Aussie trip, M2 refused to communicate with me any further, so I knew M1 had been in her ear about our fallout and likely never even mentioned the p.a. I contacted her and mentioned that minimally, I expected her to at least hear me out.
Her response???
"In my experience, I would describe you the same way my sister would, so I tend to believe her, and my role now is to protect my family."
I replied, "What, so your family is in danger now? From me?!"
She curtly wrote: "I wish to focus on my family, my sister, and the Lord." ...or something to that effect.
I can genuinely, authentically state that I still have no idea why they turned so viciously nasty, so vindictive, and without sounding too dramatic – so evil towards me. I have my other nieces, family, friends to back me up wholeheartedly. It was ironic to me that the two evangelicals ended up being so mean-spirited, and emotionally abusive.
I knew I had to make a big decision, so I sought the counsel of some wonderful loved ones in my inner circle, and their guidance was unanimous: walk away from the toxicity. I knew I had no other choice. I have not spoken to my two nieces for four years now.

Hi, this is my first time posting on this app, so bear with me. This post will be going over the first (and last) time I worked in a dental office to receive shadowing experience.
From the beginning, I (20y/o) have known pretty much all my life that I wanted to be a doctor. It wasn’t until about my sophomore year in high school (the start of the pandemic) that I knew for sure I wanted to be a dentist. I just really liked the more hands-on approach to medicine, IDK. Anyway, I decided that was what I wanted to do, and was going to meet all the prerequisites necessary to apply for dental school. Currently, I attend Arizona State University, (it was all I could afford) and am studying for a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. I intend on graduating from here in the spring of '26, and, hopefully, I get accepted to one of the two in-state schools before then. I really don’t want to take a gap year and want to start practicing dentistry ASAP. So, I decided working in a dental office would be a great experience for me as meeting a certain amount of shadowing criteria is required.
Back in the second semester of my freshman year in college, I emailed about 10 dental offices in the Tempe area. I messaged the email attached to their website(s), explaining who I was, what I was studying, and that I wanted to be a dentist. None of them responded, and I was starting to lose hope. Except for one. The office manager who was in charge of emails responded to me about forwarding her my availability with school, and when was the best time to come in for an interview. I was super stoked about the opportunity and jumped on it as fast as I could.
About a couple of days later, we did an over-the-phone interview, which was just getting to know me and my situation a little bit more. And, if she liked me, we would move forward with the employment process. We ended up scheduling an in-person interview a couple of days later, where I met the dentist(s) (one was the head dentist, and the other was an associate, I believe. This was a corporate office, so they both very well could have been associate dentists, IDK). I’ve worked several jobs in the past, so I was always pretty strong when it came to interviews. Long story short, the dentist(s), hygienists, and dental assistants all liked me, so we moved forward with the employment process. Everything was smooth sailing until it wasn’t.
I didn’t start working until about a month later, as the office manager I had spoken with beforehand said that one of the HR employees responsible for my employment was “on vacation” (this could have been true, but I guess we’ll never know). Then, she (the office manager) ended up getting sick, so my employment was delayed for some time. Anyway, I started working and loved every bit of it. The role I was granted was a sterilization technician, which was fine by me, considering I had absolutely no certification to do x-rays, dental assisting, or anything else dental-related. My job was literally just to set up and break down the rooms, and clean the instruments required for the dental procedures. The job was really easy, and there were many instances where I even finished my work early. When I wasn’t working, I was allowed to shadow 1 of the 2 dentists working in the office, and I even got some chair-side experience alongside them. However, things took a turn for the worse.
Basically, the person training me was the office manager. She seemed really sweet and cool at first, but she became extremely toxic to work with very quickly. I don’t know what could have set her off, but I am extremely nice and respectful to literally everyone I meet. She was responsible for training me and would set unrealistic expectations for me to meet in an unreasonable amount of time. She was also very passive-aggressive to me for little to no reason at all, and would call me names, and would even treat me as if she was on a pedestal, and she was better than me in every way shape, and form.
With that being said, one of the first goals she set for me (keep in mind, this was literally my 4th shift working there) was to break down the rooms (and sanitize them) after the procedures in 2 minutes or less. The next goal she set for me was to set up the rooms for procedures in 5 minutes or less. I didn’t know if I could accomplish these goals yet, and if they were even reasonably achievable for someone like me or not, (considering I had 0 years of experience and she had 4) as I didn’t know how long it would even take me to break down or set up a room yet (at this point I wasn’t trained on any of this, lol). One red flag that she said that I didn’t think anything of at the time was (and I quote), "If you don't meet these goals in the next two weeks or less, we're going to have to evaluate if this is going to work out". I don't know how this flew straight over my head, and why the hell I didn't start looking for a new job ASAP, but then again, I had worked several jobs in the past, and ALL of my bosses and co-workers loved me. I am still friends with some of them to this day. I have had to quit jobs in the past but was never fired. All the jobs I had ever worked ended on good terms.
As the weeks went on, I was improving. I was getting quicker with setting up and breaking down the rooms, and sanitizing them to their entirety. I was more focused on making sure everything was thoroughly sanitized (I mean, this is a doctor's office, right?). Long story short, I did not meet her expectations and time goal. As time went on, they didn't fire me, so I thought I was in the clear. Mind you, I was dorming for my freshman year and did not have a car. Despite this, I made sure to always show up to work 15 minutes early (at the minimum). I would walk 2.5 miles to work the mornings I was scheduled and really did not want to mess up the opportunity they had given me.
Later on that month (I worked this job for exactly 1 month and 7 days), I kept getting messages from the office manager. She was cutting my hours, telling me that they weren't as busy on certain days I was scheduled and therefore did not need to come in. I thought she was being nice and giving me the day off, but yet again, this was another red flag that I was completely oblivious to. She was cutting my hours very low. To sum it up, I was working on Friday, closing up the office. The lead dentist came up to me before he left, and he told me how much of a good job I was doing, and how proud he was of me for my improvements. This made me feel really good, as the office manager I was working with this entire time never said anything nice about me, nor did she send any positive affirmations my way.
Over the weekend, I thought nothing of it. I believed I was going to be working in this office for some time based on the lead dentist's expression that Friday close. I came in for my morning shift on Monday, and everything changed. As I came into work, I just had this gut feeling that something was off. I made my way to the office to greet everyone that morning. I said, "Good morning", and they (both dentists, the office manager, hygienists, and assistants) didn't say a word back to me. They didn't even acknowledge my presence. As I was working my shift, towards the end, the office manager came up to me as I was in the middle of cleaning up a room post-op for an implant procedure. She said that she needed to talk to me in the office with the lead dentist. I was respectful, and followed after her, closing the door and taking a seat on my way in.
They both seemed pretty serious, and I thought to myself, "Am I about to get fired"? Basically, the office manager had the lead dentist (the same dentist who complimented my work ethic the Friday before) fire me. They reasoned that I, "did not improve in ample time to meet the office's expectations". I was honestly starstruck and didn't know what to say. The whole ordeal lasted maybe 5 minutes at the most, and the office manager sat there quietly the entire time. Then, she had the audacity to say, "Okay, do you have any more questions for me and Dr. _____?". Like bruh. I thought I was doing good, lol, then they just fired me? OK. I didn't say anything, other than, "I'm sorry that I let you guys down", and "Thank you for the opportunity at hand, I know you guys truly believed in me". Then, they were super rude to me, and were like, "Yeah, (after I had said thank you and everything) you can grab your things and leave now". I usually listened to music on my 2.5 mi commute back to my dorm, but this time, I walked back in silence, in the Arizona heat, in my all-black scrubs.
I still want to be a dentist. Although I felt like a total failure being fired from something I loved doing, I wasn't going to let that stop me. Today, I continue to shadow several dentists in my area, building strong relations with them as time goes on. I currently work as a certified personal trainer for a private gym, as I am very passionate about diet and exercise, and it has also exponentially increased my communication skills from before I started training gym clients. I plan to take the DAT this spring, and although my GPA is kind of low, (between a 3.0 and a 3.5 but definitely on the lower end of the spectrum) I know that I still have another year before I start applying to schools in the summer of '25, which'll give me enough time to bring that number up a bit. I firmly believe that my DAT score, personal statement, and ECs/LORs will be a great equalizer for me considering my admission process.

Long story short, the dentist(s), hygienists, and dental assistants all liked me, so we moved forward with the employment process. Everything was smooth sailing until it wasn’t.
I didn’t start working until about a month later, as the office manager I had spoken with beforehand said that one of the HR employees responsible for my employment was “on vacation” (this could have been true, but I guess we’ll never know). Then, she (the office manager) ended up getting sick, so my employment was delayed for some time. Anyway, I started working and loved every bit of it. The role I was granted was a sterilization technician, which was fine by me, considering I had absolutely no certification to do x-rays, dental assisting, or anything else dental-related. My job was literally just to set up and break down the rooms, and clean the instruments required for the dental procedures. The job was really easy, and there were many instances where I even finished my work early. When I wasn’t working, I was allowed to shadow 1 of the 2 dentists working in the office, and I even got some chair-side experience alongside them. However, things took a turn for the worse.
Basically, the person training me was the office manager. She seemed really sweet and cool at first, but she became extremely toxic to work with very quickly. I don’t know what could have set her off, but I am extremely nice and respectful to literally everyone I meet. She was responsible for training me and would set unrealistic expectations for me to meet in an unreasonable amount of time. She was also very passive-aggressive to me for little to no reason at all, and would call me names, and would even treat me as if she was on a pedestal, and she was better than me in every way shape, and form.
With that being said, one of the first goals she set for me (keep in mind, this was literally my 4th shift working there) was to break down the rooms (and sanitize them) after the procedures in 2 minutes or less. The next goal she set for me was to set up the rooms for procedures in 5 minutes or less. I didn’t know if I could accomplish these goals yet, and if they were even reasonably achievable for someone like me or not, (considering I had 0 years of experience and she had 4) as I didn’t know how long it would even take me to break down or set up a room yet (at this point I wasn’t trained on any of this, lol). One red flag that she said that I didn’t think anything of at the time was (and I quote), "If you don't meet these goals in the next two weeks or less, we're going to have to evaluate if this is going to work out". I don't know how this flew straight over my head, and why the hell I didn't start looking for a new job ASAP, but then again, I had worked several jobs in the past, and ALL of my bosses and co-workers loved me. I am still friends with some of them to this day. I have had to quit jobs in the past but was never fired. All the jobs I had ever worked ended on good terms.
As the weeks went on, I was improving. I was getting quicker with setting up and breaking down the rooms, and sanitizing them to their entirety. I was more focused on making sure everything was thoroughly sanitized (I mean, this is a doctor's office, right?). Long story short, I did not meet her expectations and time goal. As time went on, they didn't fire me, so I thought I was in the clear. Mind you, I was dorming for my freshman year and did not have a car. Despite this, I made sure to always show up to work 15 minutes early (at the minimum). I would walk 2.5 miles to work the mornings I was scheduled and really did not want to mess up the opportunity they had given me.
Later on that month (I worked this job for exactly 1 month and 7 days), I kept getting messages from the office manager. She was cutting my hours, telling me that they weren't as busy on certain days I was scheduled and therefore did not need to come in. I thought she was being nice and giving me the day off, but yet again, this was another red flag that I was completely oblivious to. She was cutting my hours very low. To sum it up, I was working on Friday, closing up the office. The lead dentist came up to me before he left, and he told me how much of a good job I was doing, and how proud he was of me for my improvements. This made me feel really good, as the office manager I was working with this entire time never said anything nice about me, nor did she send any positive affirmations my way.
Over the weekend, I thought nothing of it. I believed I was going to be working in this office for some time based on the lead dentist's expression that Friday close. I came in for my morning shift on Monday, and everything changed. As I came into work, I just had this gut feeling that something was off. I made my way to the office to greet everyone that morning. I said, "Good morning", and they (both dentists, the office manager, hygienists, and assistants) didn't say a word back to me. They didn't even acknowledge my presence. As I was working my shift, towards the end, the office manager came up to me as I was in the middle of cleaning up a room post-op for an implant procedure. She said that she needed to talk to me in the office with the lead dentist. I was respectful, and followed after her, closing the door and taking a seat on my way in.
They both seemed pretty serious, and I thought to myself, "Am I about to get fired"? Basically, the office manager had the lead dentist (the same dentist who complimented my work ethic the Friday before) fire me. They reasoned that I, "did not improve in ample time to meet the office's expectations". I was honestly starstruck and didn't know what to say. The whole ordeal lasted maybe 5 minutes at the most, and the office manager sat there quietly the entire time. Then, she had the audacity to say, "Okay, do you have any more questions for me and Dr. _____?". Like bruh. I thought I was doing good, lol, then they just fired me? OK. I didn't say anything, other than, "I'm sorry that I let you guys down", and "Thank you for the opportunity at hand, I know you guys truly believed in me". Then, they were super rude to me, and were like, "Yeah, (after I had said thank you and everything) you can grab your things and leave now". I usually listened to music on my 2.5 mi commute back to my dorm, but this time, I walked back in silence, in the Arizona heat, in my all-black scrubs.
I still want to be a dentist. Although I felt like a total failure being fired from something I loved doing, I wasn't going to let that stop me. Today, I continue to shadow several dentists in my area, building strong relations with them as time goes on. I currently work as a certified personal trainer for a private gym, as I am very passionate about diet and exercise, and it has also exponentially increased my communication skills from before I started training gym clients. I plan to take the DAT this spring, and although my GPA is kind of low, (between a 3.0 and a 3.5 but definitely on the lower end of the spectrum) I know that I still have another year before I start applying to schools in the summer of '25, which'll give me enough time to bring that number up a bit. I firmly believe that my DAT score, personal statement, and ECs/LORs will be a great equalizer for me considering my admission process.
