Can only create custom events on mobile browser?

2024.05.20 03:33 nawknairda Can only create custom events on mobile browser?

GA newbie here and super confused.
I am trying to create a custom event (Data display -> Events -> Create event). Every time I finish inputting my 'matching conditions' and click create, nothing appears.
I was sure I was doing something wrong, but then I tried doing the exact same thing on my phone's mobile browser and it works!
Even more strangely, the custom event I created shows up on my GA when opened up on a mobile browser, but it still isn't showing up in GA on my desktop browser??
I've double checked that I'm signed into the same account etc, but can anyone give me any hints or tips as to what I might be missing?
Thanks!

2024.05.20 00:47 funfacilitator_1 How do I recover audio file I just deleted?

I recorded a very important audio recording on a little mini recorder. I attached the recorder to my computer and open the file using Mixpad. I made a copy of the file to my desktop then I made another copy and made a zip file for it. I deleted the other audio files. I went to go listen to this saved recording, to double check that everything was OK, and everything was not OK. Apparently I saved an audio file of me snoring. Where do I find the original audio file I was listening to? It’s not in the recycle bin.

Jump Notes

  1. I wake up in my room in the warehouse apartments, after shutting myself in without even checking the Benefactor's Lounge the night before
    1. I'm still lingering on the frustration of not cracking the riddle of Allabar, and not being able to solve the problem permanently
    2. But there's no going back, so I commit to facing forward for the rest of the week, and head to the Benefactor room
      1. Once again, there are four envelopes with me, and my big chart of jumps up on the wall, like something from a Kindergarten classroom
      2. As I affix a sticker saying "The Fountain (2006)" to the big chart, a small round outline appears next to it: "Biosphere Supplement available"
    3. On my way to call a team meeting, I catch a surprise outside the apartments
      1. Three of our bard graduates are slowly exploring the area
    4. At the team meeting, I announce my intention to go solo on the next jump
      1. The decision isn't popular, but most of them have waited while I've done gauntlets before, so it's not a big shock
    5. We set up the entertainment room to watch the movie, even though I don't expect that meta knowledge will be much help
      1. For the first time, we don't all fit in the Entertainment room
      2. By count, there are eleven of us (me and ten companions), the Halflings are now up to fifteen after two recent births, and we have nine new bards with us, so we set up a second showing in the evening
    6. Finally, before heading in to the jump, I make one last check of the Benefactor's office to see if there's more information on the biosphere supplement, but though my note has been removed, there is no response, and nothing on the tablet
  2. I awake from a deep sleep in a luxurious bed, it is early morning and the sun is still rising
    1. I can feel the absence of my abilities; I am reduced below even bodymod, to the level of a baseline middle-aged man in a world with primitive medicine
      1. Nevertheless, I can feel a gift reaching back in time to me - and as I accept it, I am calmed, no longer distressed by what I have lost
    2. In this time, I have duties, both in the mundane sense of the tasks those around me expect me to perform, as well as a greater sense in which I must try to make this world better
    3. My new gift becomes invaluable in due time
      1. All manner of petitioners and officers come to me with grievances, and each of them are a storm of emotions - no one comes before their Count to declare how satisfied they are with things
      2. In short time, word of my wisdom spreads, and my council is sought by King Ferdinand
    4. I lobby my King with an eye to improving the lives of all involved
      1. It is the lives of ordinary Spaniards that are the measure of his ability as a King, not the mass of his treasury
      2. Colonialism brings with it dangers beyond the obvious, and responsibilities for ages to come
      3. Allowing the priests to destroy artifacts of other cultures does not increase our glory, but diminishes it
    5. Despite my ability to make my case clearly and seemingly overcome all objections, my guidance is rarely heeded when I leave the room
    6. And before long, it seems I have made enemies of those who stand to gain by plundering the New World
      1. They do not discuss the matter with me, or make their displeasure known by facing me down in violence
      2. But as the breath leaves my lungs over dinner, my last thought is that I have been poisoned by a coward
  3. I awake from a fitful sleep in a large bed, my wife still asleep beside me despite the chirping of my alarm clock
    1. My first throught is of the date - It is September 7, 1999 - the first day of fall semester
      1. This will not be my first time teaching CS 101, but this time will be different, I can feel the power in my body, my mind, and my soul
    2. I arrive at my office early, of course, and make sure everything is in order - the syllabus handouts are ready, my slides are in order and proof-read, and my TAs have confirmed their preparedness
      1. The lecure hall is large - so many students sign up for CS 101 without any prior programming knowledge, just to see what it's like, or convinced that they will be a natural
      2. As the students file in, they sparsely occupy the massive auditorium, afraid to sit near people they don't know, not fully understanding that for the vast majority of them, this is their first class on campus, their first opportunity to get to know eachother
      3. I exhort them to move towards the front so they can hear and see better, and a few oblige
      4. The first lecture flows like a breeze, the students hanging on my words as I understand what each one needs to hear to understand what the rest of this semester will hold
    3. By semester's end, the students and TAs are in awe, the CS department chair has asked for my materials and told me that spring registrations for CS102 are higher than ever, both of the student papers have run articles praising my class, and the dean of Arts and Sciences has interceded to clear my spring schedule to prioritize my research work on the condition that I teach 101 again next year
      1. I appreciate my grad students and TAs, but I don't have a real family in this life, so I head into the warehouse for winter break
  4. I awaken rested and enthusiastic on a beautiful spring day
    1. It is graduation day for the first group of freshman I taught after coming to this jump, nearly four years ago
      1. They have come so far, and I'm fortunate that some of the best have continued to work with me, and three of them will be graduate students working under me starting in the fall
    2. It is also the first day of human trials for the drug, a new anti-inflammatory
      1. We were hoping it would treat chronic inflammatory diseases, but early testing suggests that it may significantly reduce hay fever, which would be great if we can mass produce it cheaply
    3. My reputation at the school has skyrocketed thanks to the combination of my groundbreaking research plus my teaching perks ensuring high instructor reviews as well as students learning and retaining more
      1. My tenure process has been fast-tracked, since the dean is rightly concerned about losing me to another institution
  5. I awaken slowly, and awkwardly, as if from a coma, as a cocktail of drugs is released into my body, still restrained on my cryobed
    1. Our vessel, the Cyllene, is essentially a large asteroid with a hole carved in the middle, stuffed with propellent, equipment, supplies, expansive aquaponics facilities, and a relatively tiny living area
      1. Cyllene was said to have nursed and protected Hermes, as this vessel must nurture and protect us, the first observers, and hopefully, colonists,
    2. As my body and mind resume normal function over the course of 90 minutes, I get a slow trickle of updates on the status of the Cyllene and our mission
      1. The mission clock says it's 202 years since we left Earth, but thanks to time dilation, Earth has experienced 221
      2. Computer Block 5 (of 8) is currently undergoing automated reconstruction as the block with the highest error correction rate at the time the last automated reconstruction completed
      3. 1575 individuals are currently in cryosleep, and 25 (including me) are active, all sufficiently healthy
      4. I am still Dr. John Axstrom, revered teacher and groundbreaking computational pharmacologist, but my consciousness seems to have jumped forward a few hundred years, skipping past the development of miracle cures, life extension medications, and cryogenic preservation of humans
    3. As I realign with my memories and identity, I remember why I'm here
      1. If colonization proceeds, the coming generations are going to need exceptional teachers if they are to learn their place in the universe, and I'm one of the best there ever was
      2. Our mission is expected to take about 750 years from departure to arrival, and though the vast majority of that time is spent in cryosleep, we take shifts being "awake" to ensure systems are functioning and keep eachother mentally and physically healthy
    4. Since the monitoring systems will throw a fit if I straight up disappear from the vessel, I take a long ride out to the external "observation" check, out of the range of most of the sensor systems
      1. There's not really much to observe in deep space - it's like the night sky, as the ancients saw it with no light pollution, but from a different perspective
      2. Here I quickly form a stunt double duplicate, hand over my electronics, and duck into the warehouse
    5. The warehouse clock confirms my suspicions - I'm nearly seven years into the jump
      1. Since it looks like this isn't going to take nearly 1000 years, the team hasn't been going full-stasis mode
      2. The bards have been poring over J-Borg's personal library as well as the impressive collection of the warehouse media room
      3. But the reason I came is the Tablet of the Free - I'm stuck on a large but still confined deep-space vessel until my scheduled return to cryosleep - how is that supposed to entertain the boss?
      4. After confirming nothing interesting is in the warehouse, I head back to the observation deck, and stash the portable door I've been using back into hammer-space before re-merging with my stunt double, and taking the long trip back to the living area
  6. I wake up to an unfamiliar synthetic beep - apparently the Cyllene's version of a doorbell
    1. When I open the door, one of my crewmates tells me that our directional antennas have picked up some unusual RF activity that seems to be coming from our destination system, and they want me (as the on-shift programmer) to help the astronomer, comms, and operations staff to help make sense of it, and ensure we're not about to get nuked by a magnetar or something
    2. Initial findings were sparse and inconclusive - just occasional pulses of a signal that must have been very strong and highly directional at the time of transmission, to reach us so far away
    3. But I had access to diagnostic tools that the astrophysicists and comms staff didn't, for all their training and equipment: a series of perks specifically for teasing out the needles of relevance from the haystack of noise
      1. And as I looked at what we were seeing, and what we weren't, the answer became clear: these radio bursts looked just like a primitive form of RADAR
      2. At first my colleagues on the Cyllene were skeptical, but the evidence kept mounting, with 4 additional series of "pings" being detected in the next six weeks
    4. With the spectre of extraterrestrial intelligence hanging over the Cyllene, our XO followed protocol, and ordered the full complement to be wakened from cryosleep to assist in the work to come
    5. Within six months, we had fabricated and installed a much larger purpose-built directional antenna array on the surface of our asteroid hull, and reports of different signals were coming in almost daily
      1. We needed all the extra hands, even our mining and terraforming experts were lending a hand with signal analysis and attempts to form patterns
      2. The whole crew felt the urgency and wondered at the situation - temporally, it would mean that their early experiments with RADAR and initial RF broadcasts would have happened at about the same time as humans did those things on earth, and if they developed at the same rate as us (a big if), they would likely be more advanced when we arrivedd than humans were when we left (and thus the technology of our vessel), and would almost certainly see us coming
    6. The coming months flew past, each bringing further confirmation of suspicious, but with it frustration, as we had been unable to extract a coherent signal - the broadcasts we could pick up didn't appear to be using either amplitude or frequency modulation
      1. More than once I brought signal samples to the warehouse team, but they were just as stumped as us
      2. Even more "esoteric" means didn't work - we tried every variation of "Tongues" and "Comprehend Language" spells on printed, audioized, and even engraved versions of the RF signals we caught, but they all failed and the representations seemed full of too many discontinuities
    7. I could feel my new Inventor's Vision working on the task of how to decode these signals, and about two years after the first pulse was detected, I had my breakthrough
      1. The signals didn't represent continuous audio (like human radio) or even piece-by-piece visuals (like rasterized video), but something of each, and a little weirder
      2. They were composed of many (from seven to three hundred, and not consistent at all) micro-audio clips
      3. It was like making an ultra-low bitrate recordding of the voice of every singer in a chorus individually, and transmitting fifty milliseconds of one, then fifty milliseconds of the next, and so one, in serial, and then starting back again with the first voice
      4. We couldn't figure out why they did this, but once I was able to identify the break points between each "voice", I could layer them on top of eachother to make a composite audio version
      5. And that composite audio could be played, and was a viable candidate for magic translation
    8. The entire vessel went wild when I demonstrated the isolation and recombination of the signals to produce audio
      1. The sound of the thing was somewhat like the sound of multiple birds, frogs, and crickets in a forest, in very brief clips
      2. Of course, I didn't reveal that I had access to magic translation - I figured the comms and signals staff (and the one cryptographer) should have to earn their pay
    9. The remaining year and a half was spent in intense research, for them, while I mostly slacked off and tried to make conversation with the people doing important work on this front, since my actual mission here was to "observe" as humans of this universe underwent a sort of assymmetrical first contact
  7. I awaken in my weird little pod bed in my weird little capsule room for the last time, perfectly aware of the remaining hours in this jump
    1. After the initial excitement died down, the majority of the colonists were put back into cryosleep, with only the decoding specialists and those "on shift" like me staying active
      1. There has been a lot of anxiety around the Cyllene for the last few months - we are clearly a colony ship and the intelligent inhabitants of that system probably do not want to be colonized, and may well be easily capable of destroying us
      2. There were discussions about trying to reverse course and head back to Earth, but we could do that any time, and the closer we get, the more information we can gather about the system and its inhabitants
    2. It would be cruel to try to skim supplies from this vessel even if there were something I wanted aboard, so I just wait my time out, helping where I can and secretly translating any communications we receive when time permits
      1. So far it has all been rather uninspiring, which makes me even more curious what kind of species would develop radio technology but not transmit any fiction or speeches or poetry
    3. When it's almost time, I once again make the long trek out to the Cyllene's observation deck alone, and split off a Stunt Double, who can at least stay here for a month, while I slip into the warehouse
      1. When I enter, J-Borg greets me and informs me of a message at the Benefactor's lounge
      2. The note on the door says "Supplement Pending - please attend as soon as possible", so I go in to check it out
      3. With the choices all locked in, the door unlocks and I head out to meet with the team
    4. With the memories of my time in Spain finally restored, I realize how I had been trying to communicate with myself all along, but failing
      1. The need for calm communcation and education will never end - among our closest neighbors or with a civilization 300 light years away
    5. We have the traditional group dinner in the commons, and discuss what's going on
      1. The team did end up spending most of the time in stasis, and the formerly-newborn halflings are a little over a year now biologically, learning to speak and walk
      2. When I mention the Biosphere supplement and how I wasn't allowed to consult them, they naturally asked when it would apply, but it hadn't even occurred to me that there were now definitely too many of us to wait out warehouse changes in the entrance hall, so I checked with the central control
    6. Afterward, no one was complaining when the doors finally unlocked and we were able to leave the commons hall, only to find that the door led to an outdoor path with a natural-looking sunset on the horizon
      1. I didn't want to spoil the whole setup yet, so I said we could tour in the morning, and turned off a number of the facilities and systems for the night, to give me some time to understand what options were available before letting my companions go wild with them
      2. Fortunately, the obvious items like the tree of life and factory complex were on other islands, that would be difficult to reach without the transport disks running
    7. And then I went to sleep again, wondering what the next awakening had in store for me

Notes on the Fountain Jump Doc

  1. Honestly this doc has been on my to-try list since I saw it - I really enjoyed the movie and gladly rewatched it again when it came up in my random draw.
  2. The author took some liberties with the source material, which makes sense because of how focused on Thomas the story is, and the extensions largely make sense
  3. There were a few confusing things in the jump, such as how you get essences and what powers you bring with you into each phase of the jump, but a close reading makes them clear enough
  4. The jump has a few really standout purchase
    1. the inventor's intention is the answer to a lot of concers that "do-gooder" jumpers are likely to have in their careers
    2. the full tree of life is an amazing item - the ability to grant perfect health and immunity to aging within a regrowing item solves a lot of problems
    3. 500 years of practice is amazing if you have a particular skill or art in mind - literally centuries better than the "10 years of practice" equivalents that you find din many other jumps, and has a lot of potential to synergize with other perks that scale off your skill in a particular area
    4. Biosphere is super cool if you want your fiat-backed warehouse to grow into something more
    5. The Dagger of the Path is a great example of a conceptual weapon, and something I probably would have picked up if I had a bunch more points
  5. How you're supposed to interleave the three eras is a little unclear, and maybe I'm not a creative enough author to pull it off. I don't believe SJ Chan ever got around to writing a fictionalized account of jumping to it, unfortunately
    1. If anyone else has done a good jump fiction of this jump, please let me know
  6. Overall absolutely a fantastic jump. Obviously a great option for anyone who likes the movie or wants to solve one of the specific problems available
    1. I'd especially recommend it for an early-chain jumper because of the generally low danger level and great variety of rewards

Notes on the Biosphere Supplement Doc

  1. I knew this was something I wanted to pick up when I first read the fountain jumpdoc several months ago
  2. I use the "Personal Reality" warehouse which was co-authored by SJ Chan, and this supplement feels perfectly tailored to supplement that
  3. There are lots of good pickups for people with various interests, or those who just want to keep their options open
    1. Observation Deck seems like the real must-have since a lot of the other buys are controllable through it
  4. The structure of the biosphere was a little confusing at first - I thought that there was an island, a void around the island, and a hard shell, and wasn't sure why you'd want to increase the shell thickness, but further reading cleared that up
  5. On the whole, a good pick up, especially considering it only cost 400 CP in the jump, and normally buying warehouse upgrades with CP has a very unfavorable conversion, but in this case, the biosphere purchases all seemed cheaper than they ought to be.

2024.05.19 21:38 Oxmix T1 TV Backlight (H6199) and general control questions

TL;DR: Bought T1 TV Backlight then realized RGB decoperipherals have sweet PC apps if you get the right models. How do I move forward in a smarter way (preferably without wasting the lights I already bought)?
Knowing literally nothing about RGB, I bought a T1 TV backlight (H6199) for my 65" that I use for streaming/PS5/PC/etc. I love it, and now I want to go RGB crazy and decorate my whole room with lighting synced to my TV, Dreamview, scenes, .
I bought an RGB keyboard and some PC internals and started playing with all the open source software options to get things synced up. Now that I've done a deeper dive, I think I made a mistake with my first purchase and I want to make sure my thinking is correct before I invest more money.
It looks like the backlights are not (and aren't planned to be) included in the API. Can I change the control mechanism somehow so I'm not using the camera but using software instead? Should I write off the first lights I bought and be more mindful of comparability when I start over? Should I put some basic strip lights on the back in addition to the H6199 so I can do everything I want to? Should I double down on the path I started down and just do Dreamview with the T1 as the controller and give up on the cool open source software options?
Now that I see what can be done with Govee Desktop, SignalRGB, Home Assistant, etc. I would really like to go down that route further but also integrate my T1 lights in some way so that wasn't a complete boneheaded waste.
Thanks for any suggestions you have! I can usually figure out software solutions, but I'm not a solderer and splicer guy--so that may limit my options.

2024.05.19 21:32 herein2024 Luba 2 5000 vs Husqvarna 450EPOS - The Missing Comprehensive Comparison

So, I have the dubious honor of having owned both the Luba 2 5000 and the Husqvarna 450X EPOS at the same time for the same yard. I also have the Husqvarna 315X wired version as well. But in this post I want to provide a comprehensive comparison between the Husq 450X EPOS and the Luba 2 5000. There are already tons of vendor marketing materials, YouTubers with their reviews, etc. My goal is to provide a real comprehensive review, with no fanboyism, no hidden agenda, just as a homeowner who wants something that works reliably and that lasts.
In this post my goal is also to provide new information that I was not able to find anywhere when I was comparing these two prior to purchase, if you have any questions that you want answered that I did not cover here just let me know.
MY YARD
My yard is a pretty simple Florida rectangular acre with about 5 big oak trees and plenty more overhanging my yard from my neighbors' yards. I have about 1/2 acre in the back and about 0.30 acres in the front. I use the Husq 315X to mow the front and decided to buy a wireless version to mow the back. I also have a thin strip outside of the front fence that I mow on occasion after opening the gates and fences.
LUBA2 5000 vs HUSQ 450X EPOS
Below I have arranged my findings by categories, with the most surprising being first.
OVERALL WINNER (TIE)
Right now both the Luba 2 and the Husq 450X EPOS have a fatal flaw; the Luba 2 badly chews up my yard, and the 450X EPOS can't seem to find its RTK/Satellite Signals. At this point in time I do not know if the Luba's or 450X EPOS's problems are just software or a fundamental hardware problem. Mammotion is addressing their hardware design with the release of the Yuka, I can only hope the RTK problem with the 450X EPOS can be fixed via a firmware update.
I know the 450X EPOS won a lot of categories for me, but if it sits around in my yard all day searching for a signal then none of the rest of its features matter. RTK is so important to the fundamental operation of a wireless RTK robot that it supersedes all else in my book.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Luba 2 - I would recommend the Luba 2 if any of the below are true:
450X EPOS - I would recommend the Husq 450X EPOS if ALL of the below are true:
Wired Solutions - My front yard Husq 315X wire guided mower is great, problem free, and still uses a wire. I used a trenching machine, bought heavy duty 14 gauge wire, and buried it around 8" deep. In my opinion, if you can deal with installing the wire, not being able to change things later, and risk the wire breaks, wired is still the most reliable way to go. I think wireless mowers are very close to being mature, but something needs to come along to reduce the problems with satellite reception, RTK placement, and blockage from buildings and trees. We don't all have that perfect wide open yard with no trees or buildings.

2024.05.19 20:23 vorpal-blade P25 listening over a LAN?

This is noob question territory: I have just gotten my first SDR, its a nooelec mini. Using the dinky little antenna that came with it, and with my laptop I can pickup and listen to the network when i drive into town. That is using SDRTrunk on a SurfacePro. Here at the house I know I need to work on my antenna, as I am a ways out of town. Probably need a booster as well. It would be much easier to wire an antenna to my network closet, as my mast for the LTE antenna would nicely suit an ~850mhz antenna for the Heart of Texas trunked radio system. Here is the issue, can i put the dongle on my Win10 home server, then use an app on desktop to listen and see what channels are talking? Or do I have to find a way to run the antenna cable to the desktop I normally work at?

2024.05.19 20:01 Individual-Data-1026 Help please nothing makes sense, After disassembly an assembly wifi signal is weak, Alcatel 3x 5048u

The signal strength just drops easier than before It used to handle more than 10 meters Now can barely get away with 3 Checked the antenna it's definitely connected but I don't know if its the weakness point am gonna try to remove the antenna wire and see if it effects anything CZ I think it's a double antenna in the frame and one of them is connected through the charging board And the charging bored to the motherboard And the other one is motherboard to frame directly Sorry am a newbie

2024.05.19 17:56 felagund1 Turn off Night color for MPV

I sometimes watch films with MPV in the evening on fullscreen and for that I would prefer to have Night color turned off.
When I run mpv in terminal like this:
kde-inhibit --colorCorrect mpv SOMEVIDEO
it correctly disables night color.
However, I mostly launch it via Dolphin by just double-clicking on a videofile. I thought overrtiding the desktop file, ie. placing

2024.05.19 14:29 Blueredreditor Advice for Prospective NUS Business Student

Congrats on choosing and making it into NUS Business School! I previously wrote here: https://www.reddit.com/SGExams/comments/118r7cg/all_about_studying_business_in_nussmuntu/ on what are some factors when considering between NUS, SMU and NTU business school. For better or worse, you'll be stuck here for the next 4 years so here's some broad advice on making the best out of it.
1. Put in effort to draft out your own Study Plan; Future you will thank you
What is a study plan? Essentially, it's an outline on what modules you'll be taking throughout your 4 years in University. Especially for a business student, a study plan should go beyond "what majospecialization/double majominor". Yes, figuring what major (or majors) that you want to eventually take is the first step. The next step is also considering whether you intend to take a gap semester (i.e. leave-of-absence) to do internships (which is becoming increasingly more common place; maybe not 1 gap sem but possibly even 2!). The unfortunate truth is that many biz student realize late in Year 2/3 that they might not be as competitive as their peers and usually then seek out LOA internships and end up delaying their graduation (whether its a good or bad thing is debatable). Besides gap semesters for internships, there are student who do credit bearing internships (which counts for some credits/MCs) or even do a part-time internship during the semester while studying (Do modules on Mon and Tues, FT work of Wed, Thurs, Fri). Not every student get's their desired summer internships, and often student have to compensate by applying for Off-Cycle LOA internships.
In your study plan, you would also have to take into consideration possibly going on overseas semester exchange or even the 6M to 1 Year long NOC program if you're interested! Overloading more modules earlier in your Uni (Y1 and Y2) gives you more flexibility to adapt to changes in the future. Of course, you need to gauge yourself whether you're able to cope with the workload. (Overloading in earlier sems, mean being more free in later sems to do internships/explore other modules or minors).
Additionally, most higher-level modules have pre-requisites (mostly ACC1701). If you delay taking these pre-requisite modules, your whole study plan can be delayed by a semester. My advice is to take ACC1701 (and consequently FIN2704) earlier rather than later, because these two mods open up the other majors/specializations available to you. You'll also figure out whether you'll want to to take the finance major after taking these two modules.
  1. CCAs
There's a ton of CCAs available NUS-wide or Business School related. I strongly encourage you to take multiple CCAs (importantly taking into consideration what you can manage and your workload) so that you're able to meet new people and learn new skillsets. NUSC/RCs/Hall activities also count here. The unfortunately truth is that portfolio does matter in business school, and simply being good in academics (which can be competitive in itself) isn't enough. Your GPA/CAP allows you to have your foot in the door; your portfolio and experience allows you to enter it. Consulting CCAs in general are great an improving your eye for aesthetic and detail which I recommend. You'll be surprised that many biz kids are outright bad and atrocious at making PowerPoint slides even at Year 4... I would say that the CCAs you join do shape your uni experience in a large way.
  1. Group Mates
Find good friends and group mates! Those in NUSC/RCs/Halls have an easier time for this. For most of your basic core 1k modules, you group is usually randomized and you have no say on who you're working with. It is during these randomized group that you'll figure out the pain of having poor group mates, and things get worse if you're taking higher level and tougher modules alone. On this note, try to find friends that will do various modules together with you! Having friends doing the module together with you is a huge advantage, from extra resources, dead line reminders, doing quizzes/tests together etc. 5 brains working on a problem set is always better than 1 brain by itself, these 5 ppl will often get a better grade than the one hardworking individual working alone. Implicitly, those who stay on campus have a huge edge over those who don't.
  1. Business is ultimately not a technical degree
Controversial to some, but business school at the end of the day doesn't really teach you much. The only thing that it does teach is showmanship (and even then sometimes not taught well enough). Business School arguably teaches you how to carry yourself well, make fancy PowerPoints, use some excel, working with people (?) etc. Many of the more relevant things you learn, you learn them in your internship and your own experiences outside of the classroom e.g. CCAs. To me, doing well in Biz School is focusing on everything outside of academics (ensuring that you have some baseline CAP/GPA).
5. Figure out early whether you prefer Excel or Power Point.
The corporate world only runs on two applications, Excel and Power Point. Dabble in both, figure out early which application you prefer more and find a relevant internship/role/job that you enjoy decently that uses one over the other. Truly, Excel and PPT are the only takeaways when you leave the university. Great consultants are adept at handling PPT, navigating through them quickly with many templates in their desktops. Finance peeps do a little more excel work and have to do them well, fast and creatively. Even at the end of uni, there are still many students who can't use excel proficiently at a high level.
6. Internship Hell is real for those who care
Internship application period in itself can be a full-time commitment (for those that care). When internship applications open, you can be going through your own interview prep, doing several recorded interviews, applying to new internships etc. Many moving parts to juggle and a lot of ground work to be done. From preparing for interview questions, writing cover letters, tailoring your CV etc alot of the hell you experience in Biz school actually comes outside of academics contrary to popular belief (as Jean-Paul puts it, "hell is other people", bad group mates im looking at you). For those applying to more technical roles, you might also need to prep extra for technical questions e.g. IB 400 questions, consulting cases, market sizing brain teasers etc.
7. Not so much of an advice, but rather a plea from me to you
I really hope business students can be more code literate and savvy i.e. being able to read (and to a lesser extent implement) coding e.g. python or SQL. ~90% of the biz population are code illiterate (having only taken just 1 "coding module"). In a normal corporate workplace, you'll never have to code. But being able to think computationally, knowing the steps you can take to automate your task, time and workflow brings you more benefits than you can imagine when most corporate work that people do are typically administrative.
In conclusion, do your best in biz school. I think effort correlates strongly to how well you do here. You don't need to be smart (it makes life easier) but with enough forward thinking and future planning, you'll be able to grow through the next 4 years (and hopefully be worth it).
Feel free to ask any question in the comments, or for any seniors to elaborate and share their own experience! Left out a lot of controversial views not wanting to trigger anyone or NUS. Edit: I'm a graduating student from Biz, later they dont let me grad how? jk

🔗Breathable Gray Lightweight Car Cover for Snow

https://preview.redd.it/3sb4jepzmb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=932dcf0f506db0e80819d7fd7bceb9769919127e
I recently purchased the Budge Lite Car Cover, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer for me. First off, the material is super lightweight and breathable, which means my car doesn't get all stuffy under there. Plus, it's easy to handle and store when I'm not using it.
One thing that really stood out to me is how well it fits my car. The elastic hem ensures a snug fit, so even on a windy day, it stays put. And speaking of wind, the antenna patch is a nice touch that keeps my antenna safe and sound.
Now, let's talk about some drawbacks. While the cover does a decent job of keeping most things like dust and leaves off my car, it's not entirely waterproof. After a rain, I noticed some water seeping in, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this Budge Lite Car Cover. It's lightweight, easy to handle, and provides a nice snug fit for my car. If you're looking for something to protect your vehicle from the elements, this might just be the perfect cover for you.

🔗Universal Fit Car Windshield Snow Cover and Side Mirror Covers

https://preview.redd.it/f6d5x240nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=285410d0828db6e6deb04f87d3caa99d69b762d1
I recently tried the Asz Car Windshield Cover for Ice and Snow, and I have to say, it made my winters so much more convenient. The thickened material is excellent at keeping out snow and ice, and I love that it comes with side mirror covers for added protection. The magnetic embedded design means it's super easy to put on and take off, which is a game-changer when I'm in a hurry.
However, one minor issue is that it's a little bulky, so it's not the most space-efficient option out there. Overall, I highly recommend the Asz Car Windshield Cover for anyone looking to simplify their winter mornings! .

🔗All-Weather Heavy Duty Car Cover for Sedans

https://preview.redd.it/tzpw7sl0nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=129bb66cdaf87d2c75f1775f74081db2f1a7e0d1
Last fall, I got my hands on the Armor All Heavy Duty Premium Car Cover for my sedan, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. The first thing that caught my attention was its promise of all-weather protection. Living in a region with unpredictable weather, this was a godsend! The cover's heavy-duty material and strong stitching have indeed safeguarded my car against various unpredictable conditions, from sudden downpours to blistering sun.
One feature that stood out was the cover's breathable material. I was concerned about moisture buildup causing mold and mildew on my vehicle's finish. However, the Armor All cover has proven effective in preventing such issues, making it worth every penny. Additionally, the cover's 6-point high wind protection system ensures that it stays in place during stormy days, providing me with a peace of mind I never had with my previous covers.
However, there is a small con. The cover can be cumbersome to carry around due to its size and weight. A built-in storage bag or a slightly lighter design would have been a great addition. Despite this downside, I find the Armor All Heavy Duty Premium Car Cover to be an excellent investment for any car owner who values their vehicle's appearance and needs dependable protection against harsh weather elements.

🔗Budge Lite Car Cover for Sedans Up to 16'8

https://preview.redd.it/1lelklw0nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fef3706a6bdc7c67ccf50471a0e55a0fecc9a7ed
I can't stress enough how crucial it is to protect your car from the elements, and the Budge Lite Car Cover has been a lifesaver in this regard. As someone who keeps their vehicle in a garage with a metal roof, I know all too well how dust, soot, and debris can accumulate and cause damage to a car's finish. I've been using this cover for over five years on multiple cars, and it's been a game-changer. I've been amazed at how effectively it keeps my car clean and dust-free, even in a very dirty environment.
The key to keeping my cars in pristine condition is constant maintenance and proper storage. I make sure to cover my vehicle each time I park it, and I've found that the Budge Lite Car Cover is the perfect solution for my needs. The single layer of polypropylene is lightweight and easy to use, making it an ideal choice for indoor storage and occasional outdoor usage against dust, dirt, and debris.
One of the standout features of this car cover is its breathability. Constructed with a single layer of polypropylene, the Budge Lite Cover allows air to circulate, which helps to reduce condensation. This is particularly important for preventing mold and mildew from forming on your car's surfaces. Additionally, the elasticized hem and built-in grommets secure the cover all-year round, ensuring that it stays in place even during strong winds.
I've also used the car cover outside on weekends or for temporary coverings, and I've been impressed with its ability to keep my car dry and spotless, even in heavy rainstorms. The water just beads up and rolls off, which is a testament to the quality of the material.
However, I will say that the fit can vary since it's a universal cover, so sometimes it might be too tight or too loose, depending on your car's size and shape. And despite being lightweight and easy to clean with just a hose, some users may find that the lack of a soft inner lining can catch dust and other debris, which could scratch your car's finish.
Overall, the Budge Lite Car Cover is a fantastic product that's perfect for indoor storage and occasional outdoor use. Its lightweight design and breathability make it a great choice for keeping your car clean and protected from the elements, and the additional features, like the elasticized hem and built-in grommets, make it a secure and user-friendly option. At its budget-friendly price point, this car cover is a no-brainer for anyone looking to protect their vehicle from dust, debris, and damage.

🔗High Quality 3-Layer Car Cover with UV Protection

https://preview.redd.it/ovqoqjf1nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ccd5246809f4cb664c243f5bfacca4520b4cf00
I recently purchased the Leader Accessories Car Cover for my vehicle, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. The three-layer fabric is incredibly breathable, providing excellent air circulation which has helped to keep my car dry and free from moisture damage.
One feature that truly stands out is the UV protection it offers, ensuring my vehicle's paint remains safe from those harmful sunrays. Additionally, the elastic hem provides a snug fit, keeping the cover in place even during windy conditions due to its attached strap and buckle.
However, despite its many great qualities, I found that the cover doesn't seem to offer much resistance to dust. Nonetheless, the package it comes in is convenient and includes an easy-to-use storage bag.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Leader Accessories Car Cover, especially for those seeking a reliable, well-fitting cover with outstanding UV protection!

🔗Durable All-Weather Car Cover with Door Zipper & Reflective Stripes

https://preview.redd.it/9q8exfq1nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d6c9c2652918a821704adb6cb2015d24e32b6759
I recently stumbled upon the Nilight Waterproof Car Cover and decided to give it a shot. What caught my eye was its premium 210T Oxford cloth, which I can confirm is both lightweight and incredibly durable. The fabric is waterproof, heat insulating, and breathable, making it perfect for all weather conditions.
One feature that stood out is the unique door zipper on the driver's side - it allows me quick and convenient access to my car without having to remove the entire cover. Additionally, the windproof straps and elastic hem help keep the cover snug even in strong winds, and the combination lock offers added security.
One downside I noticed is that while the reflective stripes are great for visibility at night, they can be a bit overly bright and reflective during the day when you're driving.
Overall, this all-weather car cover has done a great job protecting my car from the elements, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid, reliable solution to keep their vehicle clean and safe from the elements.

🔗Favoto Waterproof All-Weather Sedan Car Cover

https://preview.redd.it/uaklsf42nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8952a02b07290c0a20c8e1224a77a2ca4059fb18
I want to talk about my car cover experience, especially with the Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover. As a car owner, I've learned the importance of protecting my vehicle from the harsh elements, both natural and man-made. The Favoto cover has been a game-changer for me.
Firstly, the driver's side zipper design is such a convenience. It makes getting in and out of the car a breeze, even when it's covered. The night reflection stripes are an added bonus - they make sure my car's contour is visible even in the dark, reducing the risk of accidents.
The Favoto cover is made of heavy-duty, 5-layer material that's both durable and waterproof. The cotton lining ensures no scratches on my car's paint. Unlike some other covers made of PE and PEVA, this one won't tear easily.
The best part? This cover provides comprehensive protection against all types of weather elements, from dust and snow to acid rain, bird droppings, and even pollution. And let's not forget about securing it - the elasticated edge along with the 4 securing straps under the car keep it in place, even on windy days.
In the real world, your car can face potential damages from weather, animals, and even people. Car covers like this one are a great investment to keep your car safe and sound. The Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover offers excellent protection against all these threats.
And finally, I must mention how easy it is to store and carry this cover. It folds neatly into its storage bag and doesn't take up much space. This makes it perfect for those times when you need to take your cover with you.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a high-quality, all-weather car cover that's easy to use and provides complete protection, the Favoto All-Weather Sedan Car Cover is definitely worth considering.

🔗Motor Trend Snow-Proof Car Cover with Storage Bag and Lock

https://preview.redd.it/1p5kduo2nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=190fce66b0c3d35b99185416c27c2c2085a3b8e1
I recently got my hands on the Motor Trend All Season Weatherwear 1-Poly Layer Snow Proof, Water Resistant Car Cover Size XL1 - Fits Up to 210". Having a car that's subjected to harsh weather conditions, I was in need of something that could offer protection and durability. Since trying it out, I must say I am pleasantly surprised.
This cover has an extra durable polyester construction which indeed stands up well against various elements including snow, dust, wind, UV rays, and even minor scratchings. Not to mention, it also keeps the interior cool on sunny days. It even comes with a free storage bag and lock, which is a nice addition.
However, on the flip side, the material seems to be quite thin despite its claims. This might be a concern in areas with extreme wind conditions as it could potentially tear. Additionally, although the elastic hem at the bottom provides a snug fit, I found it a bit of a struggle to put on and remove.
In conclusion, the Motor Trend All Season Weatherwear Car Cover is a great option for those in search of an affordable, all-season car cover. While it may not be the most robust option out there, it gets the job done in terms of protecting your vehicle from most common weather conditions.

Buyer's Guide

FAQ

1. What are the benefits of using a car cover in the snow?

Car covers provide protection against snow, ice, and harsh winter elements, preventing damage to your vehicle's paint, windows, and other components. They also keep your car warm and dry, save time on defrosting or scraping ice, and help maintain your vehicle's value and appearance.

2. How do car covers help in removing snow?

https://preview.redd.it/paa1rxs3nb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ca1cb7d978070cd52c41efdff6183ee35f81259
Car covers prevent snow from accumulating on your vehicle, which means there's less snow to remove when you use the cover. It's generally easier and quicker to brush off a car cover than to scrape ice off your vehicle's surface.

3. How do I choose the right car cover for my vehicle?

In addition to fit, consider factors like material, thickness, waterproofing, UV protection, and ease of use. Some covers are more durable, better at shedding water, or easier to put on and take off. You may also want to consider options with added features like integrated straps and grommets for enhanced security.

4. What materials are best for winter car covers?

Look for materials that offer good waterproofing and insulation, as well as resistance to UV damage. Common materials for car covers include polyester, polypropylene, and polyethylene. Some higher-end covers may also incorporate layers of microfiber or fleece for added insulation and protection.

5. How do I install a car cover for snow protection?

Before installing the cover, clear your vehicle of snow and ice. Place the cover over your car, making sure it covers all necessary areas (including the roof, windows, and mirrors). Secure the cover by using built-in straps, grommets, or clips provided with the cover. Make sure all edges are snug and free of gaps to ensure the best protection from snow and ice.

6. Can car covers be used for long-term storage in cold weather?

Yes, car covers can be used to protect your vehicle from the harsh elements during long-term storage in the winter. Make sure the cover is properly fitted, secured, and periodically checked for any damage or wear. In addition to the cover, use a suitable storage location that provides protection from moisture, wind, and other environmental factors.

7. Are car covers resistant to ice accumulation and damage?

The best-quality car covers are designed to be water-resistant and windproof, reducing the risk of ice accumulation and damage. However, it's still important to remove accumulated snow and ice from the cover promptly, especially after significant snowfalls, to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance.

8. How often should I clean my car cover in the winter?

Car covers should be cleaned periodically to ensure they remain effective at protecting your vehicle. In winter, this may mean more frequent cleanings to remove salt, grime, and other debris. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning and maintenance, as some materials may require specific care instructions.

9. Can I use the same car cover for summer and winter protection?

While some car covers are designed to provide year-round protection, not all will offer optimal performance in both summer and winter. Materials that are breathable and lightweight may be ideal for hot weather, while thicker, more insulated materials can be better for protecting your vehicle in the cold and snow. Consider the specific needs and conditions of your region and vehicle when selecting a cover that will provide the best protection throughout the year.

10. How can I store my car cover when not in use?

Car covers should be properly stored and maintained to prolong their lifespan. After removing the cover from your vehicle, gently brush off any loose snow, dirt, or debris. Fold or roll the cover neatly, and store it in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area to prevent mildew or damage from moisture. Following manufacturer's instructions on storage can also help keep your cover in optimal condition for extended use.

2024.05.19 06:26 SpokaneNeighbor Solar Node Prototype Complete

Solar Node Prototype Complete
Ok so the first version/prototype is done. Starting from the top
Top Cap - fits onto Plastic Pipe with a relatively loose fit. I wanted it loose so I could use electrical tape to create a nice tight seal between the cap and the pipe. The Top Cap also has a eyelet on the interior to allow a string to be tied to it. The other end of the string attaches to the 19007 Board Mount allowing you to pull the radio and batteries out of the pipe with the lid. The Top Cap fits around the outside of the pipe and has a curved/pointed top to promote water shedding in a hope to avoid ingress through the 3d printed plastic.
Pull String - I used serving which is used in archery. It is a strong thin string which I believe to be more than adequate for the use. A good braided fishing line would work fine as well. I tied a loop using the double fisherman's knot and looped it through the eyelet on the Top Cap and the 19007 Board Mount.
19007 Board Mount - this is a very simple mount for the Rak Wisblock Base Board Gen 2 (item number rak19007). This mount utilizes the included mounting screws that the 19007 board comes with. You do have to tap the holes with the screws and one of the holes is a little tight and needs adjustment. The 19007 Board Mount with 18650 Holder includes a holder for an 18650 battery. The battery holder has fins on it to keep the battery holder centered in the pipe. There are currently no terminals on the battery holder so I just stripped wire and used electrical tape to hold the wire in place until I come up with a good solution. This version does not have any way to Mount any antennas. The PCB LoRa antenna cable fits nicely between the USB plug and the reset/user button and the antenna just kinda stands up from there. I used the 19007 Board Mount with 18650 Holder on the prototype.
18650 Battery Extension - this is a battery holder that can attach to the bottom of another battery holder. These allow for an infinite amount of expansion of battery capacity. The pipe I used was relatively short and I think might be capable of holding 4 batteries at maximum. I did not use this in the prototype.
Plastic Pipe - the pipe I used was a leg from a cheap plastic shelf I believe was purchased from home depot. I will confirm the exact product later and include the current price. I believe the shelf comes with 12 legs.
Bottom Cap - the Bottom Cap has a flat bottom but the interior is like a cone. The center is only 1 layer thick to allow easy puncturing or slicing. The idea is to allow moisture to drain but not allow critters to crawl inside. There is an option for a basic Bottom Cap, a Bottom Cap with Wire Hole, and a Bottom Cap with Solar Panel Mount. The Bottom Cap with Solar Panel Mount also has a wiring hole. The Solar Panel Mount is a straight ripoff from "Magnetic Phone Mounting Arm v1 -MagSafe Compatible" by "Mirkosa" on Makerworld. ( https://makerworld.com/models/395748 ) I cut the arm from this model and pasted it onto the cap. I used the Bottom Cap with Solar Panel Mount.
Solar Panel Mount Extension Arm - this is an unmodified arm from "Magnetic Phone Mounting Arm v1 -MagSafe Compatible" by "Mirkosa" on Makerworld. ( https://makerworld.com/models/395748 ) this can be added between the Bottom Cap with Solar Panel Mount and the Solar Panel Holder if you need the panel to be further away from the node. You can add as many of these as needed to locate the Solar Panel appropriately. These are not used in the prototype.
Solar Panel Holder - this holds in place the Solar Panel and consists of 2 parts. The Solar Panel Mount Arm again utilizes an arm from "Magnetic Phone Mounting Arm v1 -MagSafe Compatible" by "Mirkosa" on Makerworld. ( https://makerworld.com/models/395748 ) which was cut and pasted onto my design. The second part is The Solar Panel Frame. These parts slide together and snap/lock into place. I want to design a way to expand this part for situation where more than 1 panel are required. Also the snap/lock mechanism requires a little refining.
Things I want to add/change
add an expansion or redesign the 19007 Board Mount to secure the PCB antenna and design an optional way to utilize an SMA connector.
Fix minor geometry mistakes on the Solar Panel Frame which do not print well
Design some sort of wire management
Redesign 19007 Board Mount with 18650 Holder to add "proper" battery terminals
Redesign 18650 Battery Extension to remove weak point and add "proper" battery terminals

2024.05.19 02:19 satechguy Need a password manager suggestion

Use case:
  1. Staff use Azure virtual desktop (very controlled environment)
  2. Staff needs to access a cloud app that does not support azure ad sso (or any other sso)
  3. Don't want staff to know the password to cloud app
  4. Password must be auto-filled when accessing the cloud app, according to which user signs into the Azure virtual desktop
Password reset email from the cloud app is redirected to IT's email, so staff cannot reset their password.
In short, the client needs its staff to access a cloud app but doesn't want his staff to know the password, so staff can only access the cloud app from a very controlled environment.
AVD is already a quite an investment, so the password manager needs to be as affordable as possible, with a mandatory requirement: it must integrate with Azure AD, such that when a user signs in, the password manager can auto-fill this user's password for the cloud app.
Also plan to evaluate password based sso (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/enterprise-apps/configure-password-single-sign-on-non-gallery-applications). Anybody with experience on that?
UPDATE:
Forget about password manager! Just tested Azure AD SSO (Password based) and it works very well:
Thanks.

2024.05.18 20:32 QuodEratEst Why would it not make sense for the next Xbox to double as a budget desktop PC?

"People would just buy all their games on Steam" - Xbox games would still be optimized for the specifics of it's hardware so this would be mitigated. Then it would also have all the utility of a PC for work etc, to get people into the ecosystem and hopefully buy gamepass and some games. It would just have 2 separate OS's and you could choose the default load

2024.05.18 20:10 ArmanG999 Question: Using Dynamic Link AE and Illustrator - Strange artifacts showing up

Question: Using Dynamic Link AE and Illustrator - Strange artifacts showing up
Anyone know what is happening and why?
I am working in an AE file.
I imported an illustrator file into AE as a Dynamic Link.
I make a small change to the Adobe Illustrator file where I make the robot's shoulder a little larger (a pink circle shape). I hit save on the illustrator file.
https://preview.redd.it/5jjlzh9b781d1.png?width=2637&format=png&auto=webp&s=35835b215e077493ab8d62b688fa779341062cd5
AE instantly updates my composition to reflect the larger pink circle (shoulder), but it also then adds a bunch of white lines / cracks / artifacts to parts of the arm that I never made any edits to in the illustrator file.
Absolutely clueless why it's doing this. Any insights are greatly appreciated!

2024.05.18 19:17 Unusual-Scratch6856 With £1k to spend on monitor, should I go for a 49" uktrawide or triples?

I currently race on a very basic single screen, on a very old system, I have just ordered a new machine from Scan, with a 4080 Super GPU and am umming and erring about whether to go for a 49" ultra wide or go for triples. I am thinking I will probably go for the 49" ultra wide coz I will also be using that screen for playing desktop games as well (my desk is right next to my rig and I have a platform on my rig which I can have the monitor on and then just switch it between the rig and desk if I want to play FPS games etc), I think I will see a huge improvement to the 1080 work monitor I use at rhe moment and i am also about to start the process of divorce and have no idea if i will.have room for triples in the near future anyway, so I think I am making the right decision, am I right in saying a 1440p 49" will be like having 2 x 27" monitors in ternsof the FOV i get, so ill be doubling my FOV anyway, and then in time, when i am settled in a new place i can keep the ultrawide on my desk and go for triples then.
Just wanted to get to communities opinion please?

2024.05.18 16:44 Sea-Understanding959 Do I finally get a desktop?

Do I stick with labtop and a dock or graduate?
I have been debating between getting a new labtop or actually going for a desktop. This desktop would primarily be for work. I am moving so I will be fully work from home and have my own office. When I do travel for work, I have a MacBook I can bring with that will suffice (meetings, email, google office, etc).
I have always used lenovos for work as I primarily use ppt, excel, etc. My old one died. I used to have them connected to these two monitors. I could get new monitors but I like the ultra wide in front of me and I want a vertical on the side. (Currently this vertical one doesn’t have great video) — https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-34um68-p-ultrawide-monitor as my main — https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-27-4k-uhd-usb-c-monitor-s2722qc/apd/210-bbqt/monitors-monitor-accessories - as the side in portrait
Lastly, for my work, we were considering in getting this small gaming cpus so we can test different games. One of my coworkers is getting this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CB32HKC5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Should I stick with a labtop and have a small gaming rig on the side? Should I double up, and getting something that can support both?
What labtop can handle being connected to these two? I can use a dock if needed to as it will be for WFH. Whats a good dock?
From research, I believe I need an internal GPU but anything else I should consider?
My budget is around $2-3k. Please, I need help.

2024.05.18 14:53 treytatum3 Twine 2.8.1 Changes Story Format on import

I have always been able to download twine game html files from online, import them into twine and open the game to look at how it was made. Recently, however, I am no longer able to do this.
For Instance:
BIRDLAND.html is downloaded onto my desktop. If I double click it, the twine game opens and I can play it in my browser.
If I import BIRDLAND.html into twine, I can see the passages, but when I hit play, I get "⚠ Uncaught ReferenceError:" in my browser. When I look at the story details, I can see that the story format has been changed to whatever the default story format was at time of import.
I've never experienced this before. I know that Birdland was written in snowman (not sure which version, the game was written in 2015) - If I change the default story format to snowman in Twine, delete and re-import, BIRDLAND imports in snowman 2.0.2 and still will not play.
I have been importing games for years and have never run into this issue and cannot for the life of me figure out how to solve it...

2024.05.18 13:43 LucasFHarada AX lineup comparison

Hi there, how are you guys? I'm thinking about upgrading my existing network infrastructure, and i want to go 10 Gbps and WiFi 6. My existing equipment:
Now i want do do a massive makeover in my homelab, where i have some servers (which i'll be upgrading to 10 Gbps too), i can't cover my entire house (i'ts made of bricks, no drywall here), so i'll be adding more APs.
The question is, which one should i get? Do you guys think that the cAP AX (which would be the most elegant solution imo) can do the job? Or should i get the hAP AX3 which have a 2.5Gbps interface? I'll be getting all the APs first, then the CCR2004, CRS326 and the CRS328 last. In this scenario what would you guys do? BTW, in the end my homelab will have:
