Hi all
After a lot of procrastination, I intend on applying to law school in the fall. As of now my stats sit at 3.mid, 16mid, 4 years WE (5 by the time I’d enter in fall 2025). I’ve had a lot of personal family trouble the last year (deaths in the family) and one of my parents was recently diagnosed with cancer. I intend on retaking the lsat in aug/sep/oct (depends on when I feel the most prepared). I had a few misc app questions that I wanted to get some ideas about.

- There are two schools in my area, both T-50 and have ‘why x’ optional essays. I don’t want to sound too like dramatic, but one of the reasons besides ranking that I am considering these schools is bc I’d still be close to my family during these trying times, as my parent goes through treatment. Would it be appropriate to mention this in a ‘why x’? Of course I have other reasons for attending, but this is truthfully one of the major factors. Is it too much? Does it come off weird? Would it be a potential red flag?
- I can probs only secure 1 academic letter of reference from my undergrad since I’m nearly 5 years out. I think I can secure 1-2 work references from the firm I work at and 1 other work reference from when I was a teacher. Is it negative for mostly work rec letters?
- 2 of the 4 yrs of WE are as a teacher before I quit bc of admin/sanity reasons. I currently work at a firm doing work that is interesting but not something I’m deeply passionate about for a personal statement. I want to write about my experiences as an educator and connect that to my why law. Would it look weird that I focus on that aspect of my WE as opposed to my more recent employment? I’m just thinking one potential issue is ‘how passionate about this can you be if you quit after two years and didn’t go back to education’ lol (despite still tutoring/working with students from my two years there even now).
- I have quite a few Ws on my transcript and ended up taking a full medical withdrawal one semester for mental health reasons. It also affected my GPA as I probs should’ve taken more time off and gotten accommodations earlier. College was a bit difficult for me but I’ve got a handle on my health now. Any tips for writing an addendum for this?

I ‘27M’ and my ex ‘24F’ had been dating for a little over a year when she broke up with me 3 ½ months ago. This was the result of a gradual deterioration of our relationship which culminated in a complete breakdown of physical and emotional intimacy.
For context: this was my first serious relationship, and my ex was the first person that I introduced to my immediate and extended family.
Although there’d been issues throughout our relationship, which I would describe as being due to my poor communication and time management, coupled with my ex’s expectations and unwillingness to compromise – or as my friends/family said: my ex’s controlling nature and immaturity – (she also comes from wealth and is incredibly spoiled) the deterioration really began following an incident at a Thanksgiving in October (Canadian).
During a game of cards, my ex got excited and made a mistake with the rules, my brother ‘25M’ quipped that ‘it was a good thing that she was pretty” which made her angry. She threw the cards at him, stormed off, and slammed the door. This whole thing went down in front of my extended family. While I understand why my ex got upset, her reaction upset and embarrassed me.
This and other behaviour throughout the weekend caused her relationship with my family (particularly my parents) to cool and all communication between my ex and them ceased. It’s worth noting that while my parents understood why she was upset they were offended by her actions.
Later when I tried to talk to her about it, she got defensive and couldn’t understand why I was upset. She expected an apology not only from my brother (which I think she was owed), but also from my parents because she felt iced out.
At this point it’s important to mention that my mum has stage 4 lung cancer (which my ex was aware of) and at the time was having a tough time with her illness and didn’t have the capacity to respond to the situation. I know this doesn’t excuse my parents’ role in the situation, it’s important context as there were other limiting factors at play.
Fast forward a couple of months: Christmas is coming up and nobody is willing to come to the table and all parties dig in their heels… my ex doesn’t want to apologize for her actions, my brother doesn’t want to apologize for his comments, and my parents don’t think they owe her an apology for icing her out at all… This whole time I’m trying to resolve this (although my communication wasn’t great) and I watch this situation take on a life of its own… as a result, my ex doesn’t get invited to Christmas which upsets her even more…
Honestly, whose right or wrong is irrelevant at this point, suffice to say that I was in the middle, which caused me a great deal of stress. I tried to speak to my ex about how I was feeling but my ex wouldn’t acknowledge how the stress was impacting me… I gained a ton of weight, I had heart palpitations, and I stopped sleeping. I just needed someone to acknowledge my feelings, but she wouldn’t/couldn’t, and I felt completely alone and helpless.
This whole time my ex got more and more upset about the lack of progress and kept pressuring me to fix the relationship between her and my family… I get that it’s my family, but she took no imitative to try and resolve it, either on her own or with me (which I think would’ve been the best way to proceed), she just expected me to handle it on my own.
I tried to reiterate that my mum wasn’t doing well with her illness and was doing more tests, and I needed more time. She didn’t care. She was upset at how long it was taking, I get that, but I can’t control the other parties… I finally get my parents to agree to a sit-down meeting, and I spent days prepping for it, however, a day beforehand my ex bailed, and I went into the meeting alone. Afterwards, she wanted to know what we talked about, to make sure I had stood up for her…
Yet two days later she told me that she wanted to go no contact for a week, that this relationship was too difficult… a week later she called me and told me she loved me, missed me, and wanted to talk. The next day when I went to meet her at her place, she had all my stuff in bags at the door. She kicked me our of her apartment, and I sat in the hall and cried while I waited for my ride. While I sat there someone, probably her, called security on me and I was escorted out of the building, and I was left on the curb with all my belongings… This was the last time we spoke.
There were other factors at play, like how my ex’s roommate ‘25F’ kept getting involved in our relationship and making comments (following her own breakup). Or that it’s highly likely that my ex has BPD. Or how my ex got upset that I rejected her approaches for sex three times right before we went no contact (as she has violated my boundaries and wouldn’t acknowledge that she had or how uncomfortable she had made me). But the story I shared really captures the heart of it: a lack acknowledgement of my emotions, and my boundaries.
I just feel so stupid. There were so many red flags going into it, and so many things that I didn’t like… but I tried so hard and doubled down. Convinced that if I just cared a little bit more, that somehow it would work out. In hindsight, I know I got taken advantage of, I spoiled her, I paid for everything, I did whatever she wanted, I dropped everything I was doing when she called… I gave up some much to be with her… I sacrificed my school, my work, my time, my goals… and then she just kicked me to the curb. Her feelings always seemed to supersede my own, and I took a back seat. Not to mention that she threw out the remainder of my belongings when I asked for them back.
So, it leads me to this: why does this still hurst so badly? She didn’t treat me well, and I was so unhappy for so long. Why am I so stuck? I can’t get her out of my mind. Is this trauma bonding? If it is, what can I do? I feel like I completely lost myself over the past year. Part of me just wants to talk to her, but I know she wants nothing to do with me… and part of me knows it won’t do any good…

The fallout universe contain loads of raider factions that pry on the innocents, I will try to find the ones that are the strongest.
I have 3 things to consider in order to determine which ones are the most dangerous:
1-How organized and well armed they are. 2-if they are under a competent leadership or not. 3-could they survive the setting they are in or not.
Starting with the west coast gangs from new Vegas:
1-both the Jackals and the Vipers are a non factor, lack numbers, have no leadership and they will probably get wiped out by the NCR.
2-Great Khans seems more organised and are under a decent leadership, they still won't survive unless they leave the Mojave as they will get wiped out by the NCR and their alliance with the legion means nothing as the legion will destroy them should they win the second battle of Hoverdam.
3-Fiends are probably the strongest, they seem to have a somewhat competent leadership under Motor runner, cook-cook, violet and driver nephi, have so many members,they are also pretty well armed with energy weapons, they are constantly harassing NCR troops at Mccaran and demoralise them, should the courier leave alone, they manged to storm camp Mccarran and inflect heavy casualties on the NCR, however they won't survive as in every ending they get exterminated.
Now we move one to the east coast:
1-Capital wasteland raiders are a weak small groups , they have no organisation or leadership and probably won't survive post project purity.
2-the pit raiders are probably one of the strongest, the are well armed, large numbers,and under a competent leadership by Ashur, should a cure be found, they could become a major military power backed by the pits industry, but that all depends if the Lone Wanderer sides with them.
3-Commonwealth raiders while they are more organised than the Capital Wasteland raiders and have gang leaders, they don't seem to be that strong, the gangs hate eachother as shown by the beef between Tower Tom gang and red Tourete, while they are very threatening , commonwealth raiders could survive as long as the Sole Survivor doesn't rebuild the minutemen.
4-Nuka World Raiders are stronger then the average commonwealth raiders, each of the three gangs have competent leadership, armed to the teath, should the Survivor becomes the overboss, they become a major power who controls all of Nuka World and the Commonwealth settlements, problem is that one gang will betray the overboss and get wiped out as a result which will weaken the Nuke World Raiders as a whole, also the lack of trust between the overboss and the gangs could lead to a major collapse in the future, unless the Survivor and cage manage to dominate the gangs into pure submission, I don't see them lasting that long.
I put my money on the Pit raiders being the strongest so far, if the Lone Wanderer sides with them, they could become a major threat, the Nuka worlds could have taken that spot if one of the gangs didn't betray the sole survivor and their distrust of eachother hurts any chance of them becoming a major threat due to constant infighting.

So, the sky's brewing a storm and it's turning a faint color? Purple, red, green? You feel your head pulsing and you see things out of the corner of your eyes? You're in a warp storm. This is a comprehensive guide as to what you can do to survive a warp storm.
Rule 1 The most general rule is that you should keep track of is the color of the sky. The color will show you the intensity of the warp storm and if it's still on-going. It's not recommended to go outside to check the color of the sky but it is another factor of safety that may help you. The darker the color, the higher the intensity of the storm and the higher chance that you may see something yo udo not want to.
Rule 2 You're going to see a lot of things you simply cannot understand. Take Sybil for example, you're most likely going to see her during the warp storm. A tendril, coming from the clouds and creatures climbing down it. This may seem freaky, and trust me it very much is. Some creatures are simply curious beings; such are the creatures climbing down Sybil. If you maintain your ground and do not show any hostile intent, they may leave you alone... and if you do show hostile intent? If you move unexpectedly, rapidly, your life may quickly be taken away. Fighting these creatures is the last thing you should do but if there is nothing else that you can do, sometimes it may save your life.
Rule 3 Keep a supply of food in your basement or attic, somewhere they can't see it. They'll come asking for the food and if you don't give it to them, they'll take what they can eat in your house (Hint: That's you). If you do have the spare food, give it to them. They will appreciate it and the effects will quickly become evident; if something tries to enter your house, they may help. May being the keyword, we cannot guarantee that they will help you but it is better having a friend in the storm than having none.
Rule 4 Keep your house lit up. During the day, you can be relaxed on this rule but they must know that you're in your house. They take territory very lightly and may enter if you show no signs of possession of the house. If they do enter, they consider your house their territory. Exit or hide.. Hide is a better option, though. Being outside and not being trained for that is, like I said, not recommended.
Rule 5 Warp storms last between a few hours and a few days. The longest one recorded was twenty seven days. If your food supply is low, your water goes off or you simply can't stay here, you can try to leave the warp storm. Don't use your car or anything that is loud, they hate loud noises. And if you see some of them, acknowledge them. Look at them for a bit, nod your head, and continue on your way. Do not show your fear and they may very well ignore you. Some may offer you a gift; accept it. If you do not want it, simply kneel and bow your head down. They will see it as an act of insult, but an act of a honorable insult and they will continue on their ways... most of the time.
Rule 6 We'll arrive after a while. In some cases, we might evacuate you. In most, we will give you food and water to last the Warp Storm. After we do arrive, it's very recommended to not interfere with our job. We interact with them and one small deviance from our rules could anger or scare them into hostility. If you see us running... Well, you should run too. We rarely make mistakes, but we are human and it does happen.
Rule 7 After all this happens, you'll have two choices: You will either be amnesticized, with your memories only returning if you are caught in a warp storm again, or you will be prompted to join our organization. It's your choice and we are not forcing you, it's just that general knowledge of the Warp Storms can heavily influence the mind and sometimes turn people insane.

Looking for my first laser level, I've read that green is much better than red for visibility, but cost more.
Typical usage will be, lining up sockets and switches, Marking joists when over boarding.
So ideally will need a pole or method of easily mounting.
Never owned one so any pro and cons of your recommendation would be amazing.
Cost will be the deciding factor, but I am willing to pay more if it can be justified.
