I currently work at a foreign trading company. A friend of mine at the company referred me to a Japanese couple working in international sales at another company. I met with them in person and they want to take private online zoom lessons with me focusing on business English. They will each take one lesson a week, separately, paying ¥5500 for 40 minutes (free zoom account limit). They offered the rate and I just accepted since it seemed fine at the time. The total would be ¥44,000 a month.
I’ve never taught English since living here, but looking at the textbooks they want to use and the teacher’s books accompanying them (they purchased used copies for me on Mercari), I feel I can “teach” them what they want to know. They did a trial lesson together using the first page of the textbook with me at a cafe near my office and they enjoyed it.
With this rate, is it too high? Low? Any tips on how I should approach the online lessons?

I am planning on applying as a Tax Examining Technician (a long time from now, maybe a little over 2 years). I will probably apply to an area in/around Minneapolis MN or Madison WI. I've come to understand that it takes a long time from application to starting date. However, I also heard they hire a lot of Tax Examining Technicians so it may be different. My questions are as follows:

• How long should I expect it to take from application to hiring? I am on yearly contracts so my contract ends early March and I don't want to spend months without a job in the USA so I want to time it properly.
  
• Are the interviews in person or online? I would have to fly in from Korea to the USA to do the interview...
  
• The site lists that GS 5-7. I have a college degree so I should start at 6. However, I see other jobs distinguish for high academic achievement and give you an increase in level. I graduated with 3.87 GPA so I was in the top 5% of my class. Can I negotiate a step increase because of this, or do they not care about that for this position?
  
• After a year, I can apply for GS-7. After a year in GS-7, is there another path to upward mobility in terms of income that you recommend within the Federal Government where I can use this position as specialized experience?
  
• This is a stretch I think, because it's not as useful as Spanish, but is there any jobs I could consider in the future in the federal government that would value speaking 3 languages (English, Korean, and Japanese)?
  

I got LC Dec 2023. Moderate with POTS for a month and severe with ME/CFS symptoms after that. My PEM earlier used to give me a very high HR on waking up, crushing fatigue, cement in the body, flu like symptoms, chills, feeling feverish but not actually running a fever, increased symptoms, new symptoms. The usual textbook PEM you read about online.
I also found that my overnight HRV would go higher than usual (42 vs the average mid 30s). 15-20 mins waking up it would be low (Low 20s vs usual low 30s). Sometimes I would get a low RHR the night before. I used to treat these as warning signs of a crash.
I think I'm in a crash now because I'm feeling the crushing fatigue. I have no other symptoms. Since 3 days my overnight HRV is very high but my day time HR is very low instead of very high (see pics). Average nightly HR and SpO2 are also trending lower than usual.
I have POTS and I almost couldn't take my propranolol, my day time HR is that low. Has anyone's PEM HR and symptoms changed like this?

Hello, sorry if my english is bad. I need help cuz my pc acting up. whenever I try to open it it will go automatic repair for a moment then flash back to bios, then a black screen, white line with dots appearing with a sudden window frame showing up. In the end I got stuck at a black screen with my cursor. Can't do anything with a keyboard. This just happened when I woke up for online classes, it worked fine last night.

I've heard them a few different times, but most recently when I was at Miku Expo, I noticed that they changed the lyrics of the song towards the end (before the rap part). Does anyone know what these lyrics are or why it was changed? It's Miku English so obviously it's difficult to understand just by ear. My family of 4 are flying from YYZ to PDL on Tuesday 5/21. I just checked in online. Was pleasantly surprised that they let me pick Exit row seats without any extra charge. (We just had Basic fare.) The website asked if we could speak Portuguese/English. I assume it meant either Portuguese or English, not both? We cannot speak Portuguese. Has anybody picked Exit row seats on Basic fare in the past and only speak English? Can you confirm it’s ok for us to sit in Exit row seats? I don’t want to end up being forced to switch seats when we arrive at the airport.

CTAS "declined" my card twice, but it actually went through, so I had to figure out how to call the Israeli support number (without a phone plan that includes international calling!!). Only for them to say to email. It took them several days to respond. Finally got that sorted out.
I was more careful with the SIM card after that fiasco. When they inevitably declined my card, I waited days to make sure the decline was real (it was). So I use my parents card to make the purchase. It goes through this time, only for them to hit me with "We've run out of phone numbers, contact support"
Are you actually kidding me?? How the actual fuck do you run out of phone numbers?? Aren't there like hundreds of millions of combinations for each country code? Am I missing something? And of course. OF COURSE. Their support number doesn't let me press 2 to get to the English language automated machine. So I had to hunt for an email address. I think I found the right email. I hope.

Hello, I don't know if this is the right place for this or not, but I was hoping to get advice on possible careers I could go into given my skills/interests. If this is not the right place, I would appreciate guidance on where to possibly ask this question.
I am a 22 year old male who recently graduated college with an English major and a minor in psychology. I am signed on for a 10 month contract as an English teacher starting this coming August. I don't anticipate disliking the job, I enjoyed student teaching (best part of college in fact), but I am starting to do research on salaries and prices and realizing that a teacher's pay (44k a year in my area, which is actually not awful for my location) is not going to cut it for my life goals. For reference I am also getting married at the end of this month, and one of my goals is for my wife to be able to be a stay at home mother (which will require getting a job that pays atleast ~75k+ within the next 3-5 years).
I am currently looking at finance, specifically becoming a CFP, as a possible career change and have already started pursuing the education and certifications necessary, but I thought I would ask online to see if anybody could think of a job more suitable for my abilities. I just chose CFP because I know it pays well, and have recently went into a deep dive on how to optimize personal finance, as well as investment portfolio optimization and retirement planning. It also stood out to me because it would let me help other people, which is the reason I initially chose being an English teacher.
Skills/Abilities:
Although I have no formal education in math unless you count AP calculus, I really enjoy making spreadsheets. I have made one for calculating the amount owed to the IRS (and FICA) for a given income (including different filing statuses), as well as the tax savings one would get from taking deductions or tax credits. I have also made a calculator that compares the cost of different cars over a 20 year time horizon given initial cost and mpg, factoring in gas inflation. The car calculator also doubles as a loan cost calculator given price, interest rate, and down payment (also works for houses). I enjoy making these calculators on spreadsheets, especially if I find them useful.
I also really enjoy optimization. Which can probably be gleaned from my enjoyment from making spreadsheets. I buy my own T-bills because 5% in a high yield savings account is suboptimal to holding the bills myself. When I play games I am the guy who makes calculators and does math and build optimization for hours just to get a 10% damage increase.
Another thing is that while I am an introvert, I have a good amount of public speaking experience, and am alright with addressing crowds or individuals.
Besides that I am a quick learner, have a good sense of humor, and put my all into everything I do. I think it also probably goes without saying that I have a good knowledge of literature, know how to communicate myself, and am good at writing and interpreting writing.
Things I wouldn't want to do: Jobs with heavy amounts of physical labor or working outside, Jobs with excessive work off the clock working hours (Haha, kinda funny considering I'm gonna be a teacher. I don't mind working some off the clock, just not enough that I have no free time whatsoever), and jobs that would require constant relocation.
