I got the limited edition Byredo la grande decouvérte discovery set and it contains 24 fragrances. You pay around 200 euros and you get a 170 euro voucher to spend on a bottle of your choice. I think it's a great deal because you're only paying 30 euros for 24 x 2ml samples. I didn't think Byredo would be this generous TBH.
I quite enjoyed the fragrances in general. Most of them are on the minimal clean side, which is no surprise that all the stockholm girlies are rocking Byredo. It's true though that the longevity is below average on most of these fragrance which is shame given the fact that it's quite an expensive house. This could however work for some people who like more subtle fragrances.
Here is a quick review of all of them, from my favorites to least favorite:
Black Saffron: I think I'll be using the code to purchase a 50ml of Black Saffron. It's definitely one of the stronger ones (by no means great performance either). It's sharp and polished upon frist spray and you can smell a clean leather. Then it becoems a little sweeter in the dry down while retaining that clean leathery note.
Animalique: Another banger from Byredo! It's comforting leathery, clean and becomes powdery sweet in the dry down. Quite unique and really stands out. Good performance too.
De los santos: For all my Santal 33 lover, you should check this one out. It has some resemblance to S33 but it's more subtle. It's very serene and relaxing. It's not smokey like the name would suggest. I imagine this one on someone wearing linen clothes in the summer.
Super cedar: a sweet molecule fragrance. Ambroxan-forward. In the same family as Molecule 02 and Another 13 by Le labo. definitely up there in the list but Molecule 02 gives the same effect for less.
Bal d'afrique: everyone and there mother in Sweden wears Bal d'afrique and I understand why. It's woody, citrusy, sweet, powdery, clean all at the same time. It's a great amalgamation of notes and this would work in any situation. Nothing ground-breaking but I understand the hype. Do I even need to say it? the longevity is subpar.
Gypsy water: Sweet woody vanilla with a woodsy green background. Great fragrance and it reminded me a bit of Eau duelle from Diptyque.
Mojave ghost: Shampooey clean fragrance that smells really nice but it is fleeting. gone in an hour or two. Even though it smells nice, I think you could get a similar fragrance for under $50.
Bibliothèque: On the opening it remind me of middle eastern fragrances. Rosey and woody. In the dry down it becomes a fruity sweet fragrance with the plum being very prominent. This can give headaches because I found it quite strong.
Blanche: My favorite from the fresh fragrances. Fitting name, fresh sheets and laundry. Versatile.
Sundazed: Bitter citrus, fresh juicy, neroli and soapy.
Young rose: Citrus opening, then becomes floral and sweet in the dry down. Clean girl aesthetic.
Flowerhead: Garden with roses. Clean floral and it reminds me of my grandma, in a good way. Because she loves Omnia Bvlgari and it gives me a similar vibe.
........ Warning! It goes downhill from here.
Rose of no man's land: A dark rose. A bit generic imo because the DNA is very similar to other rose fragrances.
Inflorescence: Clean citrus. Boring, thank you next.
La tulipe: Clean floral green and boring.
Sunday cologne: Vetiver earthy masculine. Very designery. Not worth the price tag at all.
Mumbai rose: Dubai is the first word that came to my mind. sweet, spicy oudy and bitter espresso. Nothing new.
Rose noir: Sharp, dark, floral, herbal.
Slow dance: Spicy, sharp, old. BAD. No no
Oud immortel: Spicy dry middle eastern oud. It's no for me. Simply because it's not my style and this DNA is so common.
Eleventh hour: Alcoholy sweet with a spicy background. This is not it.
Mixed emotions: I wish I had mixed emotions towards this fragrance but no. I despise this fragrance. Acidic, smells like alcohol and dirty herbs.
Eyes closed: Remember the cinnamon challenge from years ago? This is exactly what it feel like. Imagine someone throwing a handfull of cloves and cinnamon powder at you. Pungent.
1996: The worst imo. A dry, burnt woody sauna. Suffocating.
Do I think the discovery set is worth it?
YES definitely. because the ones that smelled good were so worth it in my opinion. and the ones that I disliked could be someone else's favorite since we all have different tastes when it comes to fragrances. It was a pleasant olfactory experience.

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a button box on my playseat challenge and I'd like to go through budget-friendly solutions like a numpad keyboard or an old phone (which is the most multi-purpose solution imo).

Although capturing photos on Vivo x100 pro is magical. There are some following improvements (especially in portrait mode) I would like to see.
1) introduction of two new focal lengths 70 mm ( 85 mm loses its spark because main lense is digitally zoomed to it's max almost) and 125mm( addition of 25mm to the periscope it is fair enough and good enough). 150mm if they feeling generous😊
2) I would like see sharper photos. Right now portrait pictures are binned at 9MP from a 50mp camera.Bin it at around at least 12-15 MP. I would understand if the focal lengths change and they have to bin it, that is okay.
3) Better focus. Just a bit of movement and the camera loses focus. Huawei Pura 70 ultra is a good example of how to keep subjects in focus even if they are moving. It is okay if the picture takes more time to process. We all can live with that
4) Let AI process the hair. Although this is an extension of point 2. But, nonetheless I think it needs special attention. Especially in indoor lighting the hair just smudges most of the times.
5) Eye tracking and face tracking. Not just one. Even if you click the photo once they close the eyes. It should turn out with eyes open. I think this would be a unique point of selling mobiles as well. Because many good photos are deleted just because of this.

So there's this anime movie I've been searching for for a while now, it's about these 2 kids, a black haired one and a blond one. The blond one is loved by everyone in class (popular kid). The blond kid and the black haired kid go to the attic/ top of some building at some point and get transported into a fantasy world. They get separated and tested. We only see the black kid's test, where he has to select which among certain statues are correct based on a riddle. The kid picks a frog statue based on the riddle and then gains the right to enter the world. I remember the statues being golden. The announcer of the test then says "the kid before you got 50 seconds" or something like that. After the black haired kid got in he was betrayed by a carriage guy who turned out to be evil. The blond kid turned out to have some trauma regarding his sister (maybe) and something to do with football. The black haired kid had to fight his mirror self at some point and won. At the end there was this lady commander and everyone was fighting these shadows that took over the world. I don't remember what happened after that.

I am a developer and currently have a Lenovo Legion 5 running Ubuntu 22.04. The power is good but the battery life sucks, the nvidia drivers give me a lot of issue and it is not a very portable device.
I want to buy a new laptop which is portable, has good battery life and has good Cpu power. I dont care a lot about gpu power. My main work involves running multiple containers, VMs amd system programming.
I am thinking of buying a thinkpad, but there are so many options that it is tought to chose one. I will mostly buy 14 or 15 inch laptop(definetly not 16 inch). I am confused between the different series like T, P, L and E(X and X1 is way too expensive). I also want to know the differences between Intel and AMD variants.
Please suggest some laptops based on the above requirements. Also I am based in India
PS. I have considered Macbook(which is honestly an all fits one solution) as well, but i like to use linux, and will probably install linux as,soon as i buy any laptop.

I want to build a slightly more well advised routine, as my current one has just been me having an issue, finding one specific thing, and going with it. I have ADHD, and want to build some rituals for some routine, and general self care.
I'm in my 20s. I don't wear foundation or concealer, but I do wear a finishing powder because I prefer how it looks on me. I'm usually dehydrated because I forget to drink throughout the day (working on this!), so if I get lazy with my skincare then my forehead and nose can end up flakey from the powder. I deal with occasional breakouts on my cheekbones and chin, though these are probably hormonal; I do have a lot of *very* tiny little bumps on my cheekbones, but I can't tell if they're like micro-spots or just my skin. I have some minor bumpy texture on my forehead, too. I don't really have redness not attributed to my natural skintone.
I mostly want to work on keeping my skin healthy and generally cared for in the long run, and work on my moisture. Also the aforementioned rituals thing.
AM - Neutrogena Visibly Clear daily scrub (bought this when stuck in another city, it's fine, but won't buy again). - 2/week face mask; I'm From honey mask at the start of the week, Catastrophe Cosmetic at the end. - a little COSRX snail mucin 92 cream if I'm feeling particularly dry, but not every day. - The Ordinary Soothing & Barrier Support serum. Probably my favourite thing I use. - SCINIC Enjoy Super Mild Sun Essence SPF50+.
PM - Body Shop camomile cleansing oil balm (I don't like TBS as a company, but this is the best makeup remover). - The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalane (very little, mostly around eyes and neck). - COSRX snail mucin 92 cream.
I have my mind on picking up a toner (I got a sample of the watermelon one from Glow Recipe that I liked a lot), a water based cleanser, and a different exfoliator (I like the feel of scrubs, but not sure if they're that great); I'm considering a lightweight moisturised for the mornings, but very on the fence; the COSRX cream works really well, but feels heavier than what I'd need/like for the mornings.
Also very unsure of the actual order to do things in after washing my face or cleansing, which is a reason I've kept my routine quite short.

I don’t want to go into too much detail right now but I have had diagnosed PTSD for 18 years, among other things. I had PTSD dreams that relive every detail for about two years after the first traumatic event, then again for two years after the second. The third and fourth I did not get any dreams and have been relatively dream free for over a decade.
In April I had gotten a psychiatrist who listens to how meds make me feel and agreed that we need to work on my sleep first and foremost. It’s something I’ve wanted to do forever. The first med brought my PTSD dreams back the first night. Every time I would fall asleep, I’d be up an hour later due to them. Three nights later, same issues, so we pulled me off of those. She prescribed another med but I havent been able to take it yet (which we agreed it would wait until mid-June). Even without being on the sleep meds, I sporadically have PTSD dreams again. I hate saying I am used to it, but I am after this many years and can usually get myself calmed down and back to sleep.
Tonight was different. I only managed two hours of sleep and I cannot go back to sleep because I am freaking out. I had a PTSD dream of the second traumatic event, but this time, the perpetrator’s face was not his. It was instead the guy who I have been with for six years, the guy who has never even raised his voice at me nor ever made me feel in danger. I tried and tried to shake it off and go back to sleep to no avail. I’m utterly freaked out by the face change.
Is this normal? If so, why? I’ve tried googling with no help, except a semi-related reddit post which of course reminded me that Redditors sometimes know more than Google (let’s be real) so here I am. Why the face change?
I do not have a therapist due to my insurance only covering one around my area and them being really crappy. My PTSD symptoms make me unemployable so I cannot really change to a better insurance and I cannot afford out of pocket. A program I am in for my psychiatrist and social worker is trying to get therapy for me but having no luck. That’s the long way around saying that I cannot go ask my therapist about it which is why I am here. This one really shook me to my core.
