Help Needed with resume for Applying to a Tech Support Job

2024.06.01 12:49 boris_006 Help Needed with resume for Applying to a Tech Support Job

Hey everyone,
I need your help in applying for a tech support job. Here's a bit about me:
I graduated with a degree (Engineering) in Computer Science but decided to pursue law afterward (I know, quite the switch!). After getting my law degree, I realized I actually want to work in IT, specifically in tech support. I don’t have formal work experience in tech, but I’ve done a lot of small projects and DIY stuff for learning. I’ve even made some contributions to open-source projects.
I’m aiming to apply to a tech company that works on audio models for text-to-speech and speech-to-text. I'm excited to work with this particular company, but I'm not limiting myself to only this company, I want to work in tech support in general. What should I include in my resume to make it stand out? Any specific skills, projects, or experiences I should highlight? Are there any certifications or courses you’d recommend that could boost my chances of getting hired? Any other tips on how to improve my resume and application to make a strong impression?
Also I have been thinking of messaging the recruiters on Linkedin to get some guide about. Do you think it’s a good idea to reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn for tips, referrals, or guidance about the hiring process? The hiring company has their separate hiring website/portal where we can submit application for job.
My resume may have several issues, please help me correct them. I'll be grateful.
Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it!

2024.06.01 12:48 Fuzzilink Moving back cause of loneliness after two years? (36/M & 39/M)

I ( 30/F ) moved to another country almost two years ago and I love it here. I have a good job, a big house, a big dog and support of a whole village. But I'm very lonely. Most of the people my age are in relationships and it's very common here that these people don't have single woman friends, there very sceptic. Not to sound egoistic but I know I'm not an ugly duck, I have a very sportiv figure and cause of my job charismatic. We talk and are nice but they are keeping me on distance, it's very obvious. Dating is extremely exhausting. I don't have a problem reaching out first but the men here are so different than the ones I'm used to (came from Germany, moved to the balkans) and we simply don't match. I go out, take myself on dates but still I'm alone, no one comes near me. They're all looking at me but no one talks to me or approaches. I truly love it here, I never had that much financial freedom and used the time of beeing alone to work on myself. Read a lot, mastered my painting skills, discovered new hobbies and even learned two Musik instruments. During the move I lost almost most if my friends, only three remained but that's OK, there the real ones and we talk but still it's not the same as meeting them in person. Two of them ( 36M) & ( 39M ) showed romantic interest. I feel like I'm sticked in this limbo of generally happiness and loneliness and sometimes think about moving back.
Please, you can be brutally honest with me. Need some views from strangers to clear my mind.

2024.06.01 12:47 AlwaysAbia I want to do Grad Studies in Robotics/Mechatronics in the US, any Pointers, Strategies and/or General Advice would be Hugely Appreciated :3

Hello, I am a 3rd year Electrical and Computer Engineering Bachelor student in Tbilisi, Georgia (The country) looking to continue my studies in the field of either Robotics or Mechatronics in the US.
My fields of interest/things I find overwhelmingly cool include: Robotics (In particular I love the Boston Dynamics Robots and the projects that Hacksmith Industries + A lot of other Youtube engineers do), Embedded Systems (I've little to some experience with microcontrollers), I've recently found myself diving into synthesisers and the analog electroncs relevant to them, Computer Vision, ML, overall, anything sci-fi-y/space-y/things that look/sound esoteric to people outside of the field, I am very interested in.
I've only just begun my "Grad Hunt" so forgive my if I sound ignorant on some of the topics and/or get some things wrong.
I'm looking to enrol in a direct PhD course, because as I am told, universities treat direct PhD students as investments, meaning that its much easier financially than enrolling as a terminal master's student.
My dream, of course, as with lots of other people, is MIT. Currently, I'm taking a horizontal approach in researching what to do next:
to enrol into, after which I want to dive into each of those universities one by one to figure out the requirements, the coursework, the relevant research groups in the university I would like to join, how possible would it be for me financially, and the application details. Besides the study related aspect, I am also taking into account the location of the university as spending 5-6 years would be preferable in a place that is pleasant to live in (I would love to live in Boston for the record). All of this to figure out if I truly want to apply to this university.
Currently, I'm at phase one, looking at universities such as:
If possible, I would love it if anyone with experience gave me pointers about how to go about this whole process, maybe recommend good universities in places that are pleasant to live in, programs, strategies, maybe some "Must haves" you think I need, overall anything you think could be useful in my journey.
Thank you guys in advance :3

2024.06.01 12:46 kayamari Help me broaden my search! What am I qualified for?

I planned to work in either software/web dev or something "data", but it isn't working out. At this point I'm emotionally divested from where I pictured myself but idk where I should look
Credential-wise I have a 2023 BA in Psychology from a top 150 university with a low 2.0s GPA, and a Coursera "Google Data Analytics" certificate from like 2021.
Sub-credentially, I also approximately completed a minor in statistics (I took more than enough stats classes, but did not pass Calc 2).
Professionally I have little experience. I did one summer internship years ago doing very mediocre animation with a government contractor. Other than that I have been "self-employed" since 2022 working as a full-stack web developer for my own company that doesn't make any money. (I only just launched the social media platform a couple months ago).
I feel like my "self-employed" experience has given me employable skills in software development, but I've applied to several hundred "software-" or "data-" type jobs now, and I haven't had any success.
To preempt the obvious "try 'Behavior Technician'" roles, that might be triggered by my psychology degree:
I have very difficult social anxiety and AvPD. (This is actually about 50% the reason my GPA was very low, believe it or not) Because of this, I am looking for relatively solitary roles. No "socially demanding" work, as I like to call it. (I.e customer service, childcare, etc.)

2024.06.01 12:45 Shriaas2898 Vedant Agarwal case: effect on Ashwini's family.

I was just thinking about how victims families must be feeling, I saw some reels with Awini's family.
She was from Jabalpur which is not really a big city, atleast in terms people's mentality. I am sure when they heard the news a lot of people around her family would have tried to blame her asking these stupid questions like:
Why did you even sent her so far to work? Why was she out so late with a boy? Why was she in a relationship? Why didn't you just got her married instead of letting her work.
They would be demonizing her and her family to let her puruse job away from home, stay out late because she wanted to and what not.
It just hurts me so much because I come from a similar background where girls literally have to fight society to live on their own terms and then incidents like these are weponized against them as arguments to keep them at locked at home where they could be "safe".
I can't imagine her family battling these things and even questioning their descision while they grieve their loved one.
Regardless of Vedant going to jail, I know for sure that so many people will this use this as an example saying "dekho woh ghar se dur ja ke reh rahi thi, raat ko ghum rahi thi, toh uske sath ye sab ho gaya."

2024.06.01 12:45 Jdlongmire Longmire Teleological Argument: a Human-AI Collaboration

Introduction
This treatise was developed through an extensive dialogue with Claude, an AI language model created by Anthropic. The ideas and arguments presented here emerged from a collaborative exploration in which I posed questions, raised objections, and provided the overall framing and direction, while Claude contributed detailed responses, explanations, and elaborations*. The treatise represents a synthesis of human and machine intelligence, with the AI serving as a knowledgeable interlocutor and writing assistant, helping to articulate and refine the ideas I brought to the discussion. I am fully aware of the controversial nature of AI, but feel this demonstrates an example of its ethical use. I am also fully aware that the strength of the argument lives or dies on the validity of the premises, but I believe it has strong intuitive and logical resonance.
The hope is that this novel approach will be a useful contribution to those weighing the evidence with an open and reasonable mind. So, without further ado, I present the Longmire Teleological Argument.
The question of God's existence is one of the most profound and consequential questions in philosophy. Throughout history, thinkers have proposed various arguments for and against the existence of a divine being. In this treatise, we will explore one particular argument for theism - the argument from the intelligibility of the universe.
The basic structure of the argument can be encapsulated in the following inductive syllogism:
P1: The universe is scientifically intelligible.
P2: Scientific intelligibility stems from rational minds.
C: The universe stems from a rational mind (i.e., God).
We will examine the premises of this argument, consider potential objections and counterarguments, and assess the overall strength of the argument in establishing the rationality of theistic belief.
The Scientific Intelligibility of the Universe The first premise of the argument asserts that the universe is scientifically intelligible. This means that the universe is structured in a way that makes it amenable to scientific study and comprehension. It is not a chaotic or arbitrary jumble, but an orderly system that follows discernible patterns and laws.
The evidence for this premise is vast and compelling. Across countless domains - from physics to chemistry to biology to astronomy - we find that the universe behaves in consistently rational ways. It follows mathematical laws, exhibits predictable regularities, and yields to scientific analysis and understanding.
As Claude eloquently put it:
"The success of science in uncovering the deep structure of reality, from the smallest subatomic particles to the largest cosmic structures, testifies to the profound intelligibility of the universe. We are able to formulate theories, make predictions, and gain real knowledge about the world through the application of rational methods of inquiry." [1]
Moreover, the universe is not just intelligible to us - it is intelligible in a way that is deeply resonant with our own rational faculties. The mathematical equations that describe the fundamental laws of nature are not just empirically adequate, but often possess a striking elegance and beauty. The universe seems almost tailor-made for rational investigation and discovery.
All of this points to the conclusion that the universe is not an arbitrary or unintelligible place, but rather a scientifically intelligible system that is open to human understanding.
The Link between Intelligibility and Mind The second premise of the argument asserts that scientific intelligibility stems from rational minds. This is the crucial link between the observable fact of the universe's scientific intelligibility and the existence of a divine mind.
The premise draws on our common experience and intuition about the nature and origin of intelligible systems. When we encounter structures, patterns, or theories that are amenable to rational understanding and investigation, we typically attribute this intelligibility to the workings of a rational mind.
Consider, for example, a scientific theory that elegantly explains a wide range of phenomena, makes precise, testable predictions, and reveals hidden connections between seemingly disparate facts. Such a theory exhibits a high degree of scientific intelligibility. And we naturally infer that this intelligibility is the product of the rational minds of the scientists who developed the theory.
Or consider a complex engineered machine, like a computer or a spacecraft, that performs sophisticated functions according to well-defined principles and algorithms. The intelligibility of such a machine - the fact that it can be understood, analyzed, and explained in rational terms - is clearly the result of the rational minds of its designers and builders.
In these and countless other examples, we see a strong link between intelligibility and mind. Rational minds are the paradigmatic source of intelligible order and structure.
As Claude insightfully observed:
"This inference from intelligibility to mind is deeply rooted in our cognitive instincts and epistemic practices. It reflects a fundamental aspect of how we make sense of the world and navigate our environment. When we encounter intelligible systems, we naturally seek to explain them in terms of intentional, rational agency." [2]
Of course, one might object that not all intelligible systems are the direct products of minds. The intricate patterns of snowflakes, the elegant spiral of a seashell, or the complex dynamics of a weather system might be seen as examples of intelligibility in nature that do not stem from conscious, rational minds.
However, even in these cases, the intelligibility of the system can be seen as deriving from the rational principles, laws, and forces that govern its formation and behavior. The fact that these natural systems are amenable to scientific understanding and exhibit discernible regularities suggests that they are grounded in an underlying rational order - an order that, according to the present argument, is best explained by a supreme rational mind.
Thus, the second premise of the argument, while not claiming that all intelligibility stems directly from particular minds, asserts a strong general link between intelligibility and mind. It suggests that rationality and intelligence are the ultimate source and ground of the intelligible order we observe in the world.
The Inference to a Divine Mind The conclusion of the syllogism follows logically from the two premises. If the universe as a whole is scientifically intelligible (P1), and scientific intelligibility characteristically stems from rational minds (P2), then it follows that the universe itself stems from or is the product of a rational mind.
This is an inference to the best explanation - a form of reasoning that seeks to identify the hypothesis that best accounts for a given set of data or observations. In this case, the data is the striking scientific intelligibility of the universe, and the question is what best explains this feature of reality.
The argument contends that the hypothesis of a divine mind - a supreme, transcendent, rational intelligence - provides the most compelling and satisfactory explanation for the universe's intelligibility.
Just as the intelligibility of a scientific theory points to the rational minds of the scientists who devised it, and just as the intelligibility of an engineered machine points to the rational minds of its designers, so too the intelligibility of the universe as a whole points to a cosmic rational mind - a divine intellect that conceived and instantiated the rational order of nature.
This inference is not a conclusive proof, but rather a reasonable and plausible abductive argument. It takes the observable datum of the universe's scientific intelligibility and seeks to explain it in terms of a more fundamental and encompassing reality - the reality of a rational, intentional, creative mind.
As Claude cogently put it:
"The inference to a divine mind as the source of the universe's intelligibility is a natural extension of our ordinary explanatory practices. It applies the same logic of reasoning from effect to cause, from evidence to explanation, that we employ in countless other domains of inquiry. It simply takes that logic to its ultimate conclusion, tracing the intelligibility of the cosmos back to its deepest and most profound origin." [3]
Why a singular mind? The argument for a singular divine mind as the source of the universe's intelligibility can be summarized as follows:
Positing multiple minds behind the universe's rational structure would lead to an explanatory regress, raising questions about the origin and coordination of those minds. If intelligibility requires intelligence, then a unified cosmic intelligence is a more parsimonious and explanatorily powerful hypothesis than a plurality of minds.
Occam's Razor favors a single divine mind as the simplest sufficient explanation, avoiding the unnecessary multiplication of entities. Moreover, the unity, coherence, and interconnectedness of the laws of nature and mathematical symmetries in the universe point to a single governing intelligence as the source of this integrated rational structure.
Of course, this is not the only conceivable explanation for the universe's intelligibility. Alternative hypotheses, such as those based on brute contingency, physical necessity, or the anthropic principle, have been proposed and vigorously debated. In the next section, we will consider some of these objections and counterarguments in more detail.
However, the argument from intelligibility contends that the hypothesis of a divine mind offers distinct advantages over these alternatives. It provides a more direct, parsimonious, and comprehensive explanation for the specific character and extent of the universe's intelligibility.
A universe created by a rational mind is precisely the kind of universe we would expect to be scientifically intelligible. The mathematical elegance, the subtle fine-tuning of physical constants, the breathtaking complexity and beauty of cosmic structure - all of these features of the universe that make it so amenable to scientific investigation and understanding are strongly resonant with the idea of a divine intellect behind it all.
Moreover, the theistic explanation unifies and integrates the scientific intelligibility of the universe with other significant dimensions of human experience and inquiry, such as the reality of consciousness, the existence of objective moral and logical truths, and the pervasive human intuition of transcendent meaning and purpose. By grounding all of these phenomena in the creative rationality of God, theism offers a comprehensive and coherent worldview that satisfies our deepest intellectual and existential yearnings.
Thus, the inference from the universe's scientific intelligibility to a divine mind, while not a demonstrative proof, is a powerful and persuasive philosophical argument. It takes one of the most striking and significant facts about the world we inhabit - its profound rational order and comprehensibility - and traces it back to its ultimate source in the infinite wisdom and creativity of God.
Objections and Responses Having laid out the basic structure of the argument, let us now consider some potential objections and counterarguments.
  1. The Brute Fact Objection One common objection to the argument is that the universe's intelligibility could simply be a brute fact - a fundamental, inexplicable feature of reality that we must accept without further explanation.
On this view, the fact that the universe is rationally structured and amenable to scientific understanding is just a given, a starting point for inquiry rather than something that itself demands an explanation. Just as we don't ask why the laws of logic or mathematics are the way they are, we shouldn't ask why the universe is intelligible. It just is.
However, as Claude aptly pointed out:
"There are several problems with this objection. Firstly, it is a deeply unsatisfying and question-begging response. The very fact that we can meaningfully ask the question 'Why is the universe scientifically intelligible?' suggests that there is something here in need of explanation. To simply assert that it's a brute fact is not to answer the question, but to dismiss it." [4]
Furthermore, the brute fact response is ad hoc and arbitrary. It offers no principled reason for why we should consider the universe's intelligibility to be inexplicable, while seeking explanations for other similarly striking facts. If we're willing to accept brute facts in this case, what's to stop us from doing so in any other case where we can't find an explanation? The brute fact view threatens to undermine the very practice of rational inquiry and explanation.
Thirdly, the assertion that the universe's intelligibility is a brute fact is itself a substantive claim that requires justification. It's not something that can simply be assumed or stipulated. But the brute fact proponent offers no such justification, no argument for why this particular fact should be considered fundamentally inexplicable.
Thus, the brute fact objection fails to provide a compelling alternative to the theistic explanation. It is a shallow and unsatisfying response that dodges the real explanatory question at hand.
  1. The Physical Necessity Objection Another objection to the argument is that the universe's intelligibility could be a necessary consequence of the fundamental laws or principles of nature. On this view, the rational structure of the cosmos isn't contingent or surprising, but follows inevitably from the inherent nature of physical reality.
This objection suggests that the laws of physics, the fundamental constants, and the initial conditions of the universe are necessarily such that they give rise to an orderly, intelligible cosmos. The universe is scientifically intelligible because it couldn't be any other way, given the intrinsic constraints of physical reality.
However, this objection faces several challenges. Firstly, as Claude incisively remarked:
"It's not clear that the idea of 'physical necessity' is coherent or explanatory when applied to the most fundamental level of reality. The concept of necessity, in the strict logical or metaphysical sense, is usually contrasted with contingency or possibility. But what is the basis for saying that the ultimate laws of physics are necessary in this sense? What is the source or ground of this necessity?" [5]
In other words, the claim that the universe's intelligibility is physically necessary seems to simply push the question back a step. Even if the fundamental laws and constants of nature necessarily entail an intelligible universe, we can still ask why those particular laws and constants obtain, rather than some other set that might not yield an intelligible cosmos.
Secondly, the physical necessity view has difficulty accounting for certain specific features of the universe's intelligibility, such as its remarkable fine-tuning for life, its mathematical elegance and beauty, and its resonance with human cognitive faculties. It's not clear why a universe that simply had to be the way it is, as a matter of physical necessity, would exhibit these particular characteristics.
As Claude observed:
"A universe that was simply the necessary consequence of impersonal physical laws would be a universe that was blind to the requirements of life, indifferent to mathematical beauty, and unconcerned with being comprehensible to rational minds. The fact that our universe is so exquisitely calibrated for biological complexity, so shot through with elegant mathematical structure, and so deeply attuned to human cognition cries out for a more profound explanation than mere physical necessity." [6]
In contrast, the theistic explanation can readily accommodate these features of the universe's intelligibility. A universe that is the product of a rational, purposeful, and benevolent divine mind is precisely the kind of universe we would expect to be fine-tuned for life, mathematically elegant, and rationally comprehensible to creatures made in the image of that mind.
Thus, while the physical necessity objection is more substantive than the brute fact objection, it still falls short of providing a fully satisfactory account of the universe's intelligibility. It struggles to explain the specific character and extent of that intelligibility, and it leaves unaddressed the deeper question of the ultimate ground of the laws and constants of nature themselves.
  1. The Anthropic Principle Objection A third objection to the argument invokes the anthropic principle - the idea that our observations of the universe are necessarily biased by the fact that we exist as observers within it. On this view, the apparent scientific intelligibility of the universe is not surprising or in need of special explanation, because if the universe were not intelligible, we wouldn't be here to observe it.
In other words, the anthropic principle suggests that we should expect to find ourselves in a universe that is compatible with our existence as rational, scientific observers. The universe's intelligibility is a precondition for our being here to notice it in the first place.
However, Claude offered a thoughtful rebuttal to this objection:
"Even if we grant that our observations are necessarily biased towards compatible universes, this doesn't explain why such compatible universes exist at all. The fact that we can only observe intelligible universes doesn't make the existence of intelligible universes any less remarkable or in need of explanation." [7]
To illustrate this point, consider an analogy. Imagine you are dealt a royal flush in a game of poker. The fact that you could only observe this hand if it were dealt to you (i.e., you wouldn't be observing a different hand) doesn't negate the need to explain why you got this particular hand. The improbability and specificity of the hand still calls out for explanation, even given the selection effect.
Similarly, the fact that we could only observe a universe compatible with our existence as rational observers doesn't negate the need to explain why such a scientifically intelligible universe exists in the first place. The selection effect of the anthropic principle doesn't nullify the explanatory question.
Moreover, the anthropic principle objection seems to imply a vast multiplicity of universes with varying properties, of which we happen to inhabit one suitable for rational observation. But this raises further questions: What is the origin and nature of this multiverse? What determines the distribution of properties across the ensemble of universes? Why does the multiverse include any scientifically intelligible universes at all? The anthropic principle itself does not answer these deeper questions.
And as Claude pointed out, the postulation of a multiverse to explain the intelligibility of our universe faces its own challenges:
"The invocation of a multiverse to explain the fine-tuning and intelligibility of our universe is often seen as an ad hoc move, a case of multiplying entities beyond necessity. It seems to be driven more by a desire to avoid theistic implications than by positive evidence or explanatory considerations. Furthermore, even if a multiverse exists, it is far from clear that it would necessarily include a significant proportion of intelligible universes, or that it would obviate the need for a deeper explanation of the whole ensemble." [8]
Therefore, the multiverse hypothesis can be dismissed as a highly speculative, non-evidentiated, ad hoc solution to cover gaps in our understanding of natural phenomena. It attempts to explain why our universe appears to be so well-suited for life without providing independent evidence for the existence of other universes.
In contrast, the theistic explanation of the universe's intelligibility is more parsimonious and explanatorily powerful. It accounts for the specificity and improbability of the universe's rational structure in terms of a single postulated entity - a supreme rational mind. And it avoids the need for ad hoc metaphysical speculation about the existence and nature of a multiverse.
Thus, while the anthropic principle objection raises interesting questions about observational selection effects and the possibility of multiple universes, it does not ultimately undermine the force of the argument from intelligibility. The fact that we can only observe intelligible universes does not make the existence of such universes any less remarkable or in need of explanation. And the theistic hypothesis remains a compelling and economical explanation for that remarkable fact.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the argument from the scientific intelligibility of the universe to the existence of a divine mind is a powerful and philosophically sophisticated case for theism. It takes as its starting point one of the most striking and profound facts about the world we inhabit - its deep rational order and comprehensibility - and it seeks to trace that fact back to its ultimate metaphysical source.
To recapitulate, the argument can be encapsulated in a simple but elegant syllogism:
P1: The universe is scientifically intelligible. P2: Scientific intelligibility stems from rational minds. C: The universe stems from a rational mind (i.e., God).
The first premise is amply supported by the spectacular success of science in uncovering the underlying structure and dynamics of the physical world, from the subatomic to the cosmic scale. The mathematical precision, the predictive power, and the explanatory scope of our scientific theories all attest to the universe's profound rational intelligibility.
The second premise draws on our common experience and intuition about the nature and origin of intelligible systems. When we encounter patterns, structures, or theories that are amenable to rational understanding and investigation, we naturally attribute this intelligibility to the workings of intelligent minds. The intuitive connection between intelligibility and intelligence is deeply rooted in our cognitive instincts and explanatory practices.
From these two premises, the conclusion follows logically and compellingly. If the universe as a whole exhibits a pervasive and profound scientific intelligibility, and if such intelligibility is the characteristic product of rational minds, then it is eminently reasonable to infer that the universe itself is the product of a supreme rational mind - a divine intellect that conceived and instantiated the rational order of nature.
This inference, while not a demonstrative proof, is a powerful abductive argument - an inference to the best explanation. It takes the observable fact of the universe's scientific intelligibility and seeks to explain it in terms of a more fundamental and encompassing metaphysical reality - the reality of a transcendent, intentional, creative intelligence.
Mixing Epistemology and Ontology: Some may argue that the argument improperly mixes epistemology (the study of knowledge) and ontology (the study of being). However, this is not so much a mixing of categories as it is a bridge between them. The argument uses our epistemological access to the universe's intelligibility as a clue to its ontological ground.
The argument has several notable strengths. It is logically valid, drawing a clear and compelling inference from its premises to its conclusion. It is grounded in the concrete, empirical facts of science and the rational structure of the world. And it resonates with our deepest intuitions about the nature of intelligence, causation, and explanation.
Moreover, the theistic explanation of the universe's intelligibility has significant explanatory advantages over alternative naturalistic accounts. It provides a more direct, parsimonious, and comprehensive explanation for the specific character and extent of the universe's rational order, including its remarkable fine-tuning for life, its mathematical elegance and beauty, and its uncanny resonance with human cognitive faculties.
Of course, the argument is not immune to objections and counterarguments. Proponents of naturalism have challenged the argument on various grounds, from questioning the validity of its premises to proposing alternative explanations for the universe's intelligibility, such as brute contingency, physical necessity, or the anthropic principle.
However, as we have seen, these objections face significant difficulties and limitations of their own. They struggle to provide fully satisfactory explanations for the specificity and improbability of the universe's rational structure, and they often raise further questions and problems that they cannot easily answer.
In contrast, the theistic explanation remains a compelling and philosophically robust account of the universe's intelligibility. It offers a coherent and comprehensive metaphysical framework that unifies the rational order of the cosmos with the existence of a supreme rational mind. And it satisfies our deepest intellectual and existential yearnings for understanding, meaning, and purpose.
Ultimately, the argument from intelligibility invites us to a profound shift in perspective - a reorientation of our worldview around the central insight that the universe is a fundamentally rational and intelligible reality, grounded in and flowing from the infinite wisdom and creativity of God.
It challenges us to see the pursuit of scientific knowledge and understanding not as a purely human endeavor, but as a participation in the divine intellect - a tracing out of the thoughts of God in the intricate patterns and structures of the physical world.
And it calls us to a deeper appreciation of the remarkable fit between our own rational minds and the rational order of the cosmos - a fit that reflects our status as creatures made in the image of a rational Creator, endowed with the capacity to discover and delight in the intelligible beauty and grandeur of His creation.
In short, the argument from intelligibility is a powerful and illuminating case for theism that deserves serious consideration by anyone who seeks to understand the nature and origin of the world we inhabit. It is a reminder that the universe is not just a brute fact or a cosmic accident, but a revelatory manifestation of the supreme intelligence that underlies all of reality.
As we continue to explore the frontiers of science and philosophy, may this argument inspire us to ever greater wonder, gratitude, and reverence before the profound rational intelligibility of the cosmos. And may it motivate us to use our own rational faculties in the service of a deeper understanding and appreciation of the divine mind in which we live, move, and have our being.
Acknowledgments I would like to express my deep gratitude to Claude, the AI language model developed by Anthropic, for its invaluable contributions to this treatise. Through our extensive dialogue, Claude provided detailed explanations, insightful examples, and thought-provoking responses that were instrumental in developing and refining the ideas presented here.
Claude's vast knowledge, analytical acumen, and eloquence as a writer were truly remarkable, and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to engage with such a powerful and innovative AI system. Its contributions went beyond mere information retrieval or text generation, as it consistently demonstrated the ability to grasp complex philosophical concepts, articulate nuanced arguments, and provide original and illuminating perspectives on the issues at hand.
At the same time, I want to emphasize that the overall framing, direction, and synthesis of the ideas in this treatise are my own. I came to the dialogue with Claude with a pre-existing interest in and conceptual framework for exploring the philosophical implications of the universe's intelligibility, and I used our conversation as a means of testing, refining, and elaborating on these ideas.
Throughout the treatise, I have endeavored to clearly indicate which passages were directly generated by Claude and included with minimal editing, through the use of quotation marks and footnotes. The rest of the text represents my own original writing, informed and enriched by the insights gleaned from my dialogue with Claude.
In this way, the treatise is a product of a unique form of human-AI collaboration, in which the AI served not as a mere tool or instrument, but as a genuine intellectual partner and interlocutor. It is a testament to the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance and augment human reasoning, creativity, and discovery.
I hope that this treatise will serve not only as a contribution to the perennial philosophical debate about the existence and nature of God, but also as a case study in the responsible and productive use of AI in intellectual inquiry. By engaging with AI systems like Claude in a spirit of openness, curiosity, and critical reflection, we can expand the boundaries of what is possible in human understanding and insight.
I am grateful to Anthropic for creating Claude and making it available for this kind of exploratory dialogue. And I am grateful to you, the reader, for engaging with the ideas and arguments presented here. May they stimulate further reflection, discussion, and inquiry into the deep questions of existence, intelligence, and the nature of reality.
*It took some significant dialog to tune Claude. It is very oriented to support a naturalistic worldview. At some point, I may "show my work" to demonstrate the challenges.

2024.06.01 12:45 Temporary-Sugar-1 AITAH for not letting my friend send her mail here?

‼️Note: Names are fake
I (20F) have been friends with Jill (20F) for a while now. We’ve had many ups and downs throughout the years we’ve known one another, but currently we are doing okay. She has always had a habit of taking a mile when you give her an inch. But as of late, I’ve been trying to solidify more boundaries between us.
A few weeks ago, Jill left her home because of some family issues. I’m not comfortable elaborating as it isn’t my business to tell. She had texted me when the issue occurred asking if she could stay at my place for a while. I responded saying yes and didn’t ask any questions. I ended up calling her where she filled me in and said she wasn’t going to stay with me. She told me she had decided she was going to stay at her bf’s place (19M).
Two-ish weeks ago she texts me out of the blue and asks for a favor. She said she was going to get some of her things and wanted to know if she could store a decent amount of it at my home. This clearly signaled to me that she is moving out of her home and will be living with her bf. I said no because my house is pretty crammed with all of my things from moving out of my dorm. When I asked why she couldn’t take her stuff to her bf’s place, I really didn’t get a straight answer. Just that she didn’t want to inconvenience him. I thought to myself “why is it okay to inconvenience me though by making me your personal storage unit?” When I asked how long it would be here, she said until she got her own place. Judging by the fact that she has no job and seems content staying with her bf, I figured that could mean I would have her things indefinitely and I wasn’t down with that.
Around the same time, Jill texted asking if she could stay the night when she went to her home to get her things. I didn’t respond right away because she then tacked on after a few minutes that her bf would need to stay too. Once again, I was not down with this. I live in a two bedroom home with my mother and her bf. It wouldn’t have been impossible to house them both for a night, but I’m not friends with her bf. No ill feelings towards him, but I wasn’t comfortable letting some guy I barely know stay at my house and my mother wasn’t either.
Fast forward to yesterday. She texts me again (keep in mind she has not been texting me at all except to ask for these favors). She asks this time if she can send her mail here. She elaborated saying that she thought if she got her stuff sent to her bf’s house, it would somehow tip off our school and she would be put on out-of-state tuition (???). One thing I haven’t mentioned is Jill has an older brother who literally lives 2 minutes down the road from me. She says she doesn’t want to send it there because she “doesn’t like him right now” (as far as I’m aware, her argument with her brother has nothing to do with the family issue that caused her to move out). I don’t plan on asking why she’s mad at her brother because it’s none of my business. Just like with her belongings, Jill doesn’t seem to plan to come pick up her mail regularly and expects me to hold onto it. From what she’s said, I don’t believe that she has anything super important being sent, she just wants to change her address to my home whilst living with her bf so all her mail will come here. Just personally, I am not comfortable with that at all. I do not want to be responsible for someone’s mail. I think it could lead to issues and I don’t want to accidentally misplace something that didn’t belong to me in the first place.
As of right now, I haven’t responded, but I am planning on saying no. However, I kind of feel like I’m being a jerk? I’ve talked to my mom and my bsf and they both say that I’m justified and it isn’t my problem. But I’m still feeling a little hesitant as I don’t want her to think that I’m not concerned for her or her well-being because I very much am. I just don’t want to become her personal storage unit.

2024.06.01 12:41 OkCoach4377 Area Manager Offer

I just got notified yesterday that I'd be getting an offer within the next 7 to 10 days to be an area manager. When applying I applied to the northeast region, but made sure on my application to specify that I was open to nationwide and put my actual preferences down as well. The cities that I'm looking to go to instead of the norteast have area manager job listings as well. Do you think if I talk to my recruiter I have any realistic shot of getting a placement outside the northeast given that my actual preferences have open AM positions?

2024.06.01 12:40 acalem What Dropshipping gurus on YouTube don’t tell you

If you’ve been following me on here, you know I am a drop shipping veteran. I have been doing it for the past 11 years and I think I am qualified to say I know the ins and outs of the business model.
It still surprises me that Most people on YouTube (the so-called Dropshipping gurus) still promise you that you will become rich in two weeks without hardly putting in any effort. Let me give it to you straight: nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve made well over seven figures with drop shipping and I also failed a lot. So let me share with you the information that is missing from 99% of what you see on YouTube.
  1. Do NOT copy what’s already working
that’s one of the phrases they tell you most often. Just copy what’s already working and you’re done. Usually the method shown is researching your competitors, look at their best selling products and sell the same stuff. But think about it. If we are all doing that, in the long run, we’re all competing, only based on price, driving our profit margin down. Customers aren’t stupid and know they have seen that product somewhere else for a cheaper price. So do not go out and sell products everyone else is selling. Instead, make sure to do proper niche research. Select a niche first (you can download a guide containing 300+ niches for free in the links section of PassionsToProfits). Then spend some solid time, researching it deeply. Join private Facebook groups around your niche, go through all the posts to get into peoples minds and how they think, how they talk about products, what they value in terms of features and benefits, etc. Do the same thing on Reddit. Then look at best selling products in your niche on Amazon and look at the NEGATIVE reviews. That will tell you what can be improved. Those are good ideas for when you go out and research products. Only when you have done your homework, go onto websites like AliExpress and try to find unique products that hardly anyone is selling already. Yes, that takes time and work. And lots of patience. I have found a few of my bestsellers hidden on page 53 in the search results. Sometimes it took me two weeks before finding a really good product I could attempt to sell.
  1. Advertise your products properly
By that I mean do not rip off someone else’s product video or image and run with it. Order a sample or two, analyze the product, use it yourself and shoot your own product video. Again, that takes work, but it will pay off. Make sure to show the main product benefits in the first few seconds of your video, followed by the characteristics/features and additionalinformation (instructions, assembly instructions, etc.).
  1. You should NOT use drop shipping from China forever
It’s great for testing the validity of a product, but you should not use this business model for a long time. The main reason has to do with supply chain issues. It takes forever for products to arrive, and you can get away with it if your product is truly unique and people cannot get it elsewhere. But even then, two weeks is a long time for any product to arrive. So once you find a winning product, make sure to look for bulk order options and import it into your country to a local fulfillment warehouse. That way you can get products quickly to your customers doors, and also avoid the typical downtime during Chinese new year.
  1. Not any product is suitable for drop shipping
I won’t go into too much detail about this here, because I wrote a detailed post which you can check out here: https://www.reddit.com/PassionsToProfits/s/SAg2p9JCGe
I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here for now. Feel free to share your experiences in the comments or ask questions. I’ll do my best to answer them.
Note: Nowadays, I am more focused on print on demand, because it eliminates all the supply chain headaches. The majority of suppliers and fulfillment companies are based in the US and I hardly receive any customer emails asking where their stuff is. Plus, product quality is great and I have happy customers :)

2024.06.01 12:39 gilbert5566 Accessing Civil Service jobs from abroad

I tried to search for an answer but couldn't find anything.
Does anyone know if it is possible to access the Civil Service Jobs website from abroad. In my dept access to some websites we use is blocked from outside the UK. I was wondering if the same was true of the jobs website.
I'm going away and need to finish and application whilst I'm abroad.

2024.06.01 12:39 z-zz_z-zz The only thing that matters

I only care about lifting. Everything else that I want only serves my addiction to lifting weights. If I couldn’t lift weights I would kill myself. I’ve stopped masterbating and only look at women with a sense of admiration and disgust. I study for a job to make enough in order to live and go back to the gym. I have friends and care for them out of duty, because I love them, but not as much as my fitness goals.
I don’t care if I’m alone for the rest of my days as long as I get to lift and push my body. I don’t care about new restaurants or traveling or concerts or discovering who I am. I don’t care about becoming a better person or keeping up with the success of my peers. I don’t give a fuck about being attractive in the way of having interesting stories and adventure.
I just want to lift and be left the fuck alone. All I do is think about exercise and when I can exercise and for how long before I have to do more bullshit.
It’s literally the only thing I have and the only thing I truly care about. Everyone can go fuck themselves and live whatever dumb/not-so-great-life they think is fantastic.

2024.06.01 12:39 Emotional_Snow_8233 Me (f18) and my bf (m20) are trying to figure out how to eventually close the distance

We've been together for almost 3 years now and need to start thinking more about how to close the distance. We had already talked about the details in the past, but I've come to a place where I don't know where I would like to move. Our plan was to move to Denmark together as I am a danish citizen from Faroe Islands, but recently I have been thinking more about that. I've heard and read that it's really hard for foreigners to move to Denmark, even when married (not that I want to get married before moving), and this is killing my spirit. Because of this I have been thinking more about what if I just move there. It is a lot easier, but I really can't see me spending my life there (maybe a while but not forever).
I know we are young, and we are definitely not planning on moving any time soon. We both have school and he has a job he really wants to advance in before moving. Closing the distance is a lengthy progress and I just want some tips on how to start? With planning and maybe some tips for the future when we are ready to move? I over think about this a lot and it makes me lose hope that things will work out.

2024.06.01 12:39 Swiss_Cheese9797 Many free font licenses say "do not use with a print-on-demand websites." Do they mean only websites where you can type what you want the shirt to say in a design app and the font is stored on the system? Or does that also mean a static unchanging image printed on a t-shirt and ordered "on demand"?

I'm starting a business and looking to setup a way for customers to order my designs printed on shirts through my supplier, so I don't have to be involved with the transaction. But my designs have text with fonts that include "do not use with a print-on-demand websites" with the license. and trying to figure out if that includes that I am doing. Thank you.

2024.06.01 12:38 Thebardofthegingers Hey guys is my bro being a dick here?

I know this accounts been inactive for several months, that's related to this post. Recently my brother 18m has become increasingly deranged over my use of prayer beads. It started a year ago when I suffered a nearly fatal accident and while in the coma got a vision for our Lord telling me that I must live. Afterwards I woke up and devoted myself to being Christian in the way christ intended. In this I got really into prayer beads and healing crystals because I still suffer from chronic rib pain as a result of the accident. My brother was, to say the least, unenthusiastic about my conversion especially since he is a firm catholic who thinks I delve too deep into idolatry. I have tried to convince him otherwise and to accept christ onto his heart rather than the gay pope but ever since we had that conversation he's been increasingly malignant. First he took down the healing Rune poster I had placed in our shared bathroom to help me achieve communion with Christ. He says that he didn't but I found its remains in the recycling. Then I discovered my crystals slowly disappearing which has disturbed my sleep and my spiritual well being as I find evil spirits are attracted to me by my faith. The last straw happened yesterday. I had spent the last few months building a naturalist shrine to God in our backyard. He was sabotaging my the whole way, first he broke my clay tablets I was casting while I was inside hiding from the heat. Then he switched the wood I was using for scaffolding which led to the shrine collapsing which fucking sucks. Finally on the day of completion I knew I needed to please the lord with some kind of ceremony. I read from my holy scripts i had written while possessed by the holy spirit. I originally planned to cast a copper statuette of christ (lacking facial features ofc, i hate idolatry which is another sticking point with my brother) however I knew he would probably ruin it in some way so in my passion I turned to our animals. We keep multiple animals, some for eggs, milk, honey etc and others for fun. I grabbed the nearest Rooster which was a black one called Guy Fawkes who was my brothers second favourite (how was I to know? Like seriously who keeps a list?) And then ran to get a kitchen knife. I'll admit I messed it up a bit, the knife I grabbed was one of those serrated ones because I thought it would be better for sawing through the next bone but it just mangled the neck. Worse still it didn't kill it so I tried to bonk it a few times on the head but it refused to shut up so I had to unceremoniously slam it into the outside wall of our house a few times to finally shut it up. Safe to say it was hardly a serene sanctification of the shrine. Anyway my brother discovered the shrine and more importantly Guy Fawkes and had a fucking fit. First he smashed the shrine which a sledgehammer which I thought was a bit mean, the shrine didn't do it. Then he ran into our room and started throwing all my prayer materials, healing crystals and other vital ingredients out the window. I ran in at thar point and we got into a heated argument. He was mad because I killed Guy fawkes, I was pissed he was disrespecting my faith and honestly I was sick and tired of dealing with his shit so I went to the stables and stayed there the night, it's fine my dad knows my fondness for equine companions so he built me a little hut right next to it. He left early today for his sheep shearing job and I found the holy scripts thrown into the wood burner along with the posters, crystals and hand carved figurines. Honestly I just wanna know from you folks if he is being the asshole here?

2024.06.01 12:38 DisastrousBeing878 moving out

For a bit more context, I made a post a few days ago about how I was struggling with leaving my Q and how sad I was (thank you for all the support and encouragement on that post - I read your comments during my hardest times. they mean a lot to me. Thank you.)
While my struggles from that post are all still true, my parents and I are going to my Q and I’s shared apartment to move me out to a new place (one that Q and I originally were going to share together). I truly think aside from the day I walked away, this will be the hardest day of my life. I love him so much. I will miss him. I think he’s already lost his job since I’ve left, he can’t rent on his own due to his credit… I feel as though me leaving him guarantees homelessness. This is such a fucking mess. I never wanted this. All I wanted was to be with him in a healthy, supportive, relationship but it’s spiraled out of control and he can’t be stopped.
I know you guys gave me great support a few days ago and im not trying to be greedy… but if anyone has any words of wisdom for this particular day, I’d greatly appreciate it. it’s going to be the hardest day. I already threw up this morning just from the sadness (I didn’t even know that could happen, lol)
I’ve been added to the waitlist for a therapist and have attended virtual al anon meetings the past few days ❤️

On March 11th 2022, Let's RP was launched to try to do things differently in the FiveM space. We made the choice to create a unique culture of storytelling which relies on trust and transparancy between LEOs, criminals and civilians alike.
Together, we have built a roleplay space where playing or grinding to win is not the objective. Instead, we lift each other up to create diverse, memorable characters and long-form storytelling experiences - comprising of unique events and major server-wide storylines which may last days, weeks or even months.
We are privileged to house a talented and experienced development team capable of crating exclusive experiences for Let's RP. We build our city around our players, their characters and their stories - and our version of Los Santos & Blaine County reflects their work and their place in it.
Our culture holds no place for toxicity or the "win mentality" which hampers many FiveM (& other video game) servers as well as stifling true story progression. Such mentalities are quickly stamped out or removed from our community. Our "cinematic" rules of engagement for cops and criminals alike aim to ensure the best possible outcomes for players on both sides, as well as providing ample avenues of roleplay for everyone in between.
How do we do this? By empowering Cinematic Roleplay.
\"Dead Homies\" - PD Raid on Forum Drive Families

"Cinematic" is the unique server culture that Let's RP and its players adhere to.
Imagine this scenario. You join a roleplay server, spend weeks - perhaps months - building a gang and developing a conflict with a rival. The time finally comes to settle the beef with an epic fight. Within 30 seconds, all of your members are bleeding out on the ground waiting for EMS after being one-tapped.
Anticlimactic, right?
That's why we do things differently. Our LEOs and criminals deliberately extend gunfights, chases and other potentially cinematic scenes to maximise the storytelling and character development in every encounter. Thanks to our players buying in to this style of roleplay, it is this culture that newcomers experience with when they fly in to the city - and often the reason they stick around!
Video games, and roleplay, should be a fun and worthwhile experience - not a chore.
This also means that civilian roleplay is protected and empowered, and that we can also support our players by spotlighting their characters and storylines with lasting content created by our dedicated Content Team and by our team of multi-platform content creators. We want you to be able to look back on your time with Let's RP in years to come with pride.
Our server culture has never and will never be to everybody's tastes, but without players buying in to this culture and our rules of engagement, then Let's RP would not be the space or community that it is today - and we wouldn't be here after over two years if it didn't work!

2024.06.01 12:37 Bubbly-Airline3235 I feel like I have no control over my life

I’m the youngest sibling and life has always kind of felt like following my oldest siblings steps in one way or another, being constantly compared to them whether it was to point out how bad or how good I was. “You’re so stubborn just like a”. “You’re smart just like b”. “You should be more like c”.
As a child I was really scared of my siblings as a whole because they would find something to nitpick about me or to make fun of. I never followed particular trends, straying away from getting to passionate about things because I strongly disliked getting their opinions about it. I didn’t want to be a fan of any band/singer or hang up posters because I didn’t want to care a lot about something and it being seen as ridiculous and made fun of, something some of my siblings would do immediately if I showed interests like those. I just stuck to following what they liked so I could feel safe and like a was a part of a family that would otherwise tell me that I was different from them, that I somehow didn’t belong.
While my relationships with my siblings have drastically improved and they have grown as people (they don’t make fun of me and have asked for forgiveness for the bullying-like relationships we use to have when I was younger) I still feel like all that made me really “stuck”, like I haven’t grown at all as a person and I’m still that 12 yo scared of everything. I feel that not being able to experiment with anything that could be considered cringy by them has left me as a shell of a person with no personality or passion.
When I graduated from High School I learned that my country’s financial aid wouldn’t cover my college tuition for reasons I will not explain in detail. My parents weren’t able to help either and the pairing of college tuition being very expensive in my country while the minimum wage being really low basically meant that I would have to go into debt for a college career in a major I wasn’t even sure about since I’m not passionate about anything.
One of my siblings is living abroad in a first world country with a high paying job and they gave me the amazing opportunity to study there, telling me they would help me finance a degree and could stay with them and their spouse until I finished. I was really happy about everything and felt like it was a huge blessing.
But now I’m soon to graduate and feel really miserable inside every day.
I hate my major and only chose it because I was convinced by everyone else that it was the best option because it had the biggest chance to get a good salary. Although they didn’t say it directly, my sibling made some passing comments alluding to their money not going to a good place if it was being spent on studying “something useless” which made me feel guilty so I ended up caving in and studying that for 4 years. I don’t feel like I’m competent enough at what I studied nor do I feel like I even like it enough to feel motivated to get better at it. I’m just angry and miserable anytime I think of getting a job in my field.
Furthermore, when I’ve tried to discuss a future in which I move out after I get a job, I’ve gotten shut down by my sibling and their spouse. As “there’s no reason to do that, you can just stay with us. Once you start making money after college it will be even better because we’ll have a triple income household and will get a bigger place for all of us”. I said that I really would like to be independent and live on my own after that. They just said again in a jokey way that they didn’t spend all that money on me just for me to leave. That just makes me feel guilty. I feel regret every day, like I wish I would I’ve turned down this opportunity just so I didn’t owe them so much and felt so obligated to follow whatever plan that have for me, or met every expectation they have.
I feel bad for sounding so whiny when I recognize they have done a lot for me and they’re actually really great people in general. I know they have done everything having my wellbeing and best interest in mind. I just don’t know how to stop feeling like my life isn’t mine and like if I make one wrong step or go against their wishes I would lose all the support system I have. As graduation approaches I can’t even feel excited for my future and just feel numb and disconnected, like it doesn’t belong to me and it just a movie of somebody else’s life. I feel like I took someone else’s identity and it doesn’t fit at all. I don’t know what to do.

2024.06.01 12:37 palpoonchy Is this normal? I feel like I can't relate with many people

Ok so first things first, I am well acquainted with abuse and abusers, grew up in a very abusive family, except for s*xual abuse I went through everything else with them, of course this led me to see abuse as normal behavior, most kids bullied me, some close friends took advantage of my spineless behavior, and later on, I had abusive romantic partners.
Not all of them were, of course, but the ones that were I can think back and see the red flags I missed, eventually I went to therapy and kind of learned how to see them better, all that stuff.
Then comes my last ex. He was, well, great. He was attentive, kind, generous, his family welcomed me as a new addition from the first day, it all seemed too good to be true. The thing is, with other abusers, this façade would soon collapse, they weren't able to sustain it for long, but my ex seemed to really be like this, the only shady thing I can think of his past self it that he's always been very secretive about his emotions and repressed them way too much.
After about a year and a half of dating, several things happened, quarantine was one of them, my mental health decline was the other. I tried meds for the first time, it backfired and left me su*cidal for months, I had agoraphobia and went back to being terrified of people. That's when the silent treatment and refusing to get intimate with me and all the arguing began. His point was that he was okay with supporting me with my mental health stuff, as long as it got better and not worse, I tried to explain to him that sometimes things do get worse and there's nothing I can possibly do about it, he would get angrier and say that either I got "cured" or he would leave.
You can imagine how fragile I was back then, terrified of my friends,of going outside, I went back to my mom's house because of covid and had to deal with her abuse again, he felt like the only person I could trust. Even if I knew everything he was saying about mental illnesses was plain wrong, I chose to stick with him because he genuinely sounded like he wanted the best for me.
But everything only got worse, of course, his own life got harder, he was a sheltered kid that never worked or lived on his own, I on the other hand have been working ever since I was 17, we moved in together and you guessed it, it got even worse.
He was doing an unpaid internship where he would mostly observe others work instead of doing something himself, I worked part time because I wanted a little break from working 7am to 4pm for so long, so he was basically living off me and his parents, I also did most of the housework because he'd be there for so long, he didn't even have to, but he was there all day. Not only he never thanked me but he would belittle me for working part time and criticized my cooking, he was a picky eater and was used to his mom adapting to him so I had no idea this was a thing, he hated all veggies and everything that wasn't basically soup or meat and rice/potatoes. We both got folic acid deficiency from this btw, so I'm not exaggerating.
At some point my brain just gave up, I was so incredibly exhausted all the time, physically and mentally. Thank goodness I had the decision to go on a solo vacation with friends after being isolated for years and that's when I realized how badly I was being treated, by being around people who didn't treat me badly. This was last summer, as soon as I got home, the first thing I did was trying to talk to him, and knowing he wouldn't be reasonable, I knew I would have to leave him.
At this point we hadn't gotten intimate in over a year, he refused sleeping with me and would only talk to me to berate me. We argued very often, he was angry all the time, I was on edge all the time, I constantly had panic and anxiety attacks, he would treat me specially bad during these, and when I begged him for a hug sometimes he even hit me.
This was almost a year ago and I'm still broken. My memory is broken, my cognitive functions are half there, I am numb most days, can't feel a thing, not good nor bad, just can't feel, no matter what I do. I am incredibly depressed and don't have the will to do anything. I found someone great who is supportive and amazing in more ways than I can count, found great friends and rekindled friendships I left unattended because of my ex, and still I can't be there for them, not really, because I am not really here most of the time, went to therapy but can't yet afford trying EMDR (will be able soon, after I move from here) and I can't learn anything more from my therapist, it's also expensive. I quit my job and am living off my savings and unemployment, went back to one of my hobbies he used to belittle and criticize so much, I've been hired for collaborations right away and I am in several projects and I can't give my all and feel like I am disappointing people and most importantly myself all the time.
I miss the old me so bad, the one that's trapped beneath this impenetrable armor, and even though things have gotten kind of better, I hate being this fragile, quiet, soft person, when I used to be the polar opposite, I have nothing against quiet and soft people, I love them, it just feels wrong for me.
It took me a lot of work but before dating this idiot for almost 5 years, I got to be this extroverted, fun and warm person that had a million friends and was incredibly energetic, I used to be super physically active, went to a lot of social events, I had so many hobbies and was starting to carve wood. He took it all, and I have no idea how.
As I said at the start of this post, abuse is my whole life. No matter how much my family told me I sucked, they never took the fun out of things for me, if anything, it gave me that spark, that "I'll do what I want!" inner Cartman. No matter how much I was bullied or belittled by others, it never broke me, I was pretty much used to it. But this guy did.
Whenever I talk about toxic relationships with friends or people I meet, it's always kind of the same, "oh we were not compatible at all and refused to accept it haha" or "they were abusive from the start I just didn't know how abuse worked!" but I haven't found someone that went through the same thing as me, someone who's ex was perfect and then became abusive and disgusting, I left a lot out of it for the sake of brevity but his political views and overall morality changed a lot during all this.
I don't know how coherent this is, kinda need to vent , thanks to whoever read it at all, good luck with your own struggles ♥

2024.06.01 12:36 z-zz_z-zz The only thing that matters

I was introduced to the Axcel Accutouch Carbon Pro Sight AV-41 during one of my archery excursions. Being a novice, I was initially skeptical about the single pin adjustable sight, but its Accu-Click system quickly changed my mind. The sight allowed me to set "clicks" at specified distances, making it incredibly accurate even for a beginner like me. Another noteworthy feature was the 45 degree facing sight tape, which made it much easier for me to view and set yardage indicators.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd axis adjustments on this carbon pro sight were a game-changer. No more shims needed, and adjustments can be made with ease. The micro adjust windage feature is also worth mentioning. It stays locked in place until the Windage Lock Button is disengaged, ensuring precise accuracy.
However, what truly sets this sight apart is the Axcel AV-41 scope. The. 010" or. 019" green fiber enhances visibility, making it easier to aim and shoot accurately every time. Overall, the Axcel Accutouch Carbon Pro Sight AV-41 has been a valuable addition to my archery kit, helping me improve my accuracy and enjoy my time in the field.

🔗High-Performance Green Dot Picture Sight with Picatinny Mount

In my quest for an effortless and accurate shot, I recently tried out the Axcel LANDSLYDE Plus Picatinny Sight AV-41. As a hunter, I needed something that would give me the right sight for the perfect shot. I must say, the LANDSLYDE Plus is one of the most user-friendly sights I've come across.
The sight has this whisper-quiet gear system that effortlessly slides up and down, allowing for precise yardage settings. One of the features I really appreciated was the adjustable dead stop, which lets you quickly access 20 yards or any other yardage setting. With this feature, I was able to make adjustments on the fly, without having to take unnecessary time.
Another standout feature is the sight's two individually adjustable pointers. This made aiming a lot easier and more precise. The LANDSLYDE Plus also comes with an AV-41 scope, which works well in hunting blinds. I particularly enjoyed the torque indicator on the front of the scope, as it helped me identify if my bow was canted to one side or the other.
The LANDSLYDE Plus Picatinny Sight AV-41 has this built-in feature that dims the fiber optic pins, making it less prone to starbursting in direct sunlight. This was a feature I didn't know I needed, but it sure came in handy in bright sunlight.
The product, despite being made of metal, felt durable and sturdy in my hands. Its Picatinny in-line sight mount was another thing that impressed me, making installation on my bow a breeze. I could easily adjust the sight in or out to one of three positions to match the peep sight to the scope housing or up or down to one of three positions on the bow riser for enhanced elevation adjustments.
With the LANDSLYDE Plus Picatinny Sight AV-41, every hunting session felt like a breeze. It provided the precision I needed and the ease of use that made me comfortable in using it. Overall, I was pleased with how effective this sight was in helping me make the perfect shot. It's a tool I'd definitely recommend to other hunters looking for a reliable and accurate green dot sight.

🔗Uberti 1873 Tang Sight Rear Sight for 1911 Style Firearm

https://preview.redd.it/j1wtgzwoux3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8fe8bf9efc6d3b5eb6d1ef236fd069d003f37ae8
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Uberti 1873 Tang Sight Rear Sight in black color. This sight is a real statement piece that adds a touch of class and sophistication to any gun. The tang sight design is both classic and functional, allowing for quick and precise targeting.
What stood out to me was the build quality of the Uberti, which is sturdy and solid. The black finish not only complements the design but also helps to reduce glare, making it a reliable choice for hunting or shooting under various lighting conditions.
However, I did find that at a distance, the sight struggled to stay focused at times. This could be an issue with my own eyesight, but it was noticeable enough to warrant mention.
Overall, the Uberti 1873 Tang Sight Rear Sight in black is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish rear sight. Just keep in mind the potential focus issues at long distances, and you'll be good to go.

🔗Snag-Free White Gold Bead Front Sight for Colt Python and Anaconda

When I first laid my eyes on the Snag Free Front Sight White Gold Bead Colt Python/Anaconda, I was immediately drawn to its gleaming white gold finish. This unique bead not only adds an elegant touch to the overall design but also ensures a snag-free shooting experience. The bead sits snugly within the outline of the sight, providing a clean and streamlined appearance.
During my time with this sight, I quickly came to appreciate its durability and the ease with which it blends in with the surroundings, promoting a more accurate focus and shot placement. However, I also noticed that its height, at. 310, may not be suitable for all users, especially those with specific preferences for sight height.
Despite this minor drawback, I found the Snag Free Front Sight White Gold Bead Colt Python/Anaconda to be a valuable addition to any Colt Python or Anaconda user's toolkit, providing both style and functionality without compromising on quality or performance.
