2024.06.01 13:32 Enthusiasm_Mindless Spacepak + Inverter nightmare.

Spacepak ESP2430J High Efficient Horizontal 2-2.5 Ton Air Handler
Tosot TU36-24ADU Universal Inverter Ducted Split System
I’ll try to make an almost unbelievably long story, short. In early April I got a few quotes from the most highly rated companies in my area. Chose a company, said company offered me an upgrade to a Tosot Inverter Heat pump, and they had just ran out the Goodman two ton, two stage in the warehouse. I agreed to sign on the conditions my air handler was inspected and found to be in fully working order (4 years old).
April 19th install was done, kid set the inverter for 3 ton instead of 2, forgot to switch O/B on air handler. Easy fixes. Since then they have been to my house 6 times due to it not properly cooling. It cools, but it never gets to temp.
First visit, charge increased from 9.4 to 14. Second visit, testing and charge reduced to 6. Third visit, more testing, charge increased to 7. Over the phone with no testing at all I am told my Txv valve is bad and I am instructed to order a replacement. Fourth visit, Txv is installed. Fifth visit, charge increased to 9.4.
During all of this time I have been on the phone with tech service for both units, various other local companies, I’m checking all the boxes of my end for air flow, cleanliness etc.
I have yet to hear from my contractor. The last call was to find out what I really wanted in all of this. I simply don’t believe, based on several companies telling me, they completely screwed up installing the inverter heat pump with a high velocity system.
Any advice, maybe even a success story from a technician, or a similar story from a home owner, would be appreciated. Thank you.

2024.06.01 13:31 justcluff Help

Installed a Nest Learning Thermostat, Gen 3 on Thursday May 23, 2024. It was working great. SetUP was easy. I’ll include images of the previous unit, LUXPRO. In the afternoon yesterday Friday, May 31, 2024 the system was reading 81, temperature was set to 77, Outdoor temp was 96.
The cooling is not working. The fan is on but its blowing warm-ish air. Right now its saying 84. I’m going to swap back to the original thermostat to test if that fixes it. ECO mode, auto schedule, air wave, and Safety Temp are all off. Any insight?

2024.06.01 13:18 LiifeRuiner Tado multiple wired thermostats

I'm wondering if tado would be a good fit for my house. My current situation is as follows:
1 wired thermostat for ground floor. 1 wired thermostat for the other floor. Both control the same hot water boiler. 2 separate hot water circuits, 1 for each thermostat. Each thermostat also controls the pump related to their respective circuit.
Is it possible to replace both thermostats with tado wired V3 thermostats? How would the thermostats know which TRV it is responsible for?
Thanks for any help

2024.06.01 13:17 CanberraReddit Flow Error from heat pump

Hey all,
My vortex aquagym swim spa is giving me a flow error from the heat pump and will not heat the spa.
I've tried releasing water from the hot side of the heat pump and the cold side and I've tried pushing a hose down each of the three filter pipes to purp out any air.
All of the jets are working fine, it's only the heat pump that cycles off after a restart and shows the error.
Any ideas?

2024.06.01 11:52 gFozzy Boiler/heat pump catch 22

So as part of a renovation we want to fit a heat pump but to get a grant we need to meet insulation criteria. We would have struggled on with existing boiler but it may have just finally died?
1) Does anyone know if it is possible to do this on the basis of works not yet completed? Insulating the house is part of the same renovation but we can’t evidence that the house is currently sufficiently insulated?
2) If we can’t get the grant for the heat pump is there some kind of short term/low cost/temporary boiler solution? Not sure exactly what I’m asking here, maybe second hand/recycled boilers? Anyway hopefully you get the idea. It seems like the way the grants work pushes people in my position back towards gas 😭

2024.06.01 11:48 gandalfb Phone Mount and (Quadlock) Wireless Charging Problems Pixel 8A

Since I switched from Pixel 6 Pro to a Pixel 8A a journey of mounting the phone to the motorcycle began. Wanting to use wireless charging seems to be a major hassle.
I started with SPC and everything working perfectly fine with the Pixel 6 Pro. I got a chance to pick up a Pixel 8A for 1€ and receive a good trade in for my 6 Pro with broken screen.
I was really pleased with SPC. Until I realised they do not provide "A" series cases (confirmed by their support). I tried the universal case which leads to an enormous heating problem and not being supported for wireless charging. At least it is noted as a small hint on their page.... ...which I over read.
I then thought ok, my fault. Could have checked beforehand and invest into a Pixel 8.
I then found Quadlock. Or Quad Lock? They provide full Pixel 8A case (MAG) and wireless which states compatibility to Pixel 8A. So I ordered the Waterproof 12V kit directly connect it to the 12V switched wiring (10A). (KTM 1190 Adv). Same wiring as used for the spc which worked perfectly (charging phone during navigation)
Well it looks like it doesn't. The behaviour is exactly like this https://www.reddit.com/Aventon/s/LfTcAKyV0z (YT Video); starting and stopping charging in a loop.
And support from quadlock send me a response stating it has to do something with Google changing the position of the charging coil which they can't do anything about. This is really strange and leaves the impression of nothing has been testet and false advertisement.
I now think about returning everything and switch to a Beeline Moto II. Or install USB with 3A and 15W from Quadlock or another party.
I like using Calimoto or similar, so I hesitate to use a dedicated navigation device with gpx transfer hazzle and stuff. Planning with beeline app did not convince me.
Maybe someone is experiencing the same or has a perfectly working Pixel 8A.
Using the quadlock case with a Pixel Stand results in a similar situation, that charging is simply stopped. But at least not looping. Without case it works. Even charging with the quadlock head started without the case.
I really like(d) the easy usage of wireless charging...
Quote from Quadlock Support (the Pixel 8pro is listed as well): "I've done a bit of research on this situation, and it turns out that Google has made some changes to the location of the Pixel 8 Pro phone, now it has an off-centered charging coil location, and it sits below the center which interferes with some of our wireless charging devices.
as the Quad Lock phone case mechanism must be centered in a case for balance and security when being attached to our mount systems. Its being off-centre would create an uneven weight distribution when mounted which would be a security concern for our mounts.
We cannot control the choice of alignment Google chooses to make in their design and manufacture of phones. You're free to return the product for a refund. "

2024.06.01 10:29 makpowerts What materials are used to make a transformer?

Transformers are vital components of electrical power systems, responsible for transmitting electricity between circuits via electromagnetic induction. Their material composition plays a crucial role in their efficiency, performance and longevity - therefore this blog will explore key materials used in making transformers while offering insight into why each is chosen and its functions.

Transformer Core Materials

A transformer core is typically constructed out of laminated silicon steel, chosen for its excellent magnetic properties and electrical resistance. Lamination helps reduce eddy current losses that cause heating or energy loss; its silicon content improves efficiency by decreasing hysteresis losses that occur when its magnetic field changes direction.

Windings

Transformer windings, or coils of wire used to conduct the electrical current, typically consist of either copper or aluminium wire coils insulated against short circuits for safe operation and reduced energy loss. Copper's superior electrical conductivity favours it over its lighter and cheaper aluminium equivalent; both materials should be properly insulated to prevent short circuits and ensure safe operations.

Insulation

Insulation in transformers is essential in providing electrical isolation between windings and the core, as well as between windings themselves. Paper, varnish and synthetic polymers are often employed for this purpose; Kraft paper and pressboard may also be utilised due to their excellent dielectric properties and mechanical strength - two properties which help ensure its continued performance under high voltage conditions.

Transformer Oil

Many larger transformers, particularly ones from larger factories, are filled with transformer oil for multiple reasons: insulation, cooling and protecting its internal components from overheating as well as dissipating heat produced by core and windings, thus helping prevent overheating and prolonging its lifespan. Mineral oil remains the standard option; however, newer synthetic and biodegradable oils have gained in popularity as their environmental advantages make them attractive alternatives.

Tank and Conservator

Transformer tanks and their oil are typically constructed of high-grade steel to provide strength and durability against external environmental factors. Conservators - an additional feature found on some transformers made out of steel - serve to manage the expansion/contraction of transformer oil as temperature changes occur.

Bushings

Bushings are insulated devices designed to facilitate the safe passage of electrical conductors through a transformer tank. Common materials for bushing construction include porcelain and epoxy resin composite materials - selected based on their high dielectric strength and mechanical robustness to provide reliable performance under various electrical stresses.

Conclusion

Transformer construction materials must meet specific electrical, thermal and mechanical properties. Silicon steel, copper, aluminium and various insulating materials such as transformer oil are integral parts of their successful functioning - as are silicon steel's thermal properties and mechanical characteristics.
By understanding their roles within transformer design we can appreciate the engineering prowess behind such essential electrical devices. No matter, if you are an industry professional or an enthusiast, knowing the components used, enhances your understanding of electrical power systems in general.

Solar PV on 2 Phase
Hello hive mind! My second post on this topic as I needed to include pictures to help explain setup.
Asking for help from any multi-phase electrician who can help guide me if its possible to have all solar generation from two inverters available to the total power demand from my house. I believe I have two phases (unusual but old house) as seen under smart meter. This is then somehow split to serve my main house, my garage and air source heat pumps.
The problem is that I have two PV arrays and I dont have the large array feeding my house. The power generation from a new array only seems to be feeding the air source heat pump demand rather than demand from the house. An old PV is serving the house.
Help:
Does this look like two phase, or somehow two feeds/fuses into one smart meter?
Can I get total PV generation serving total power demand (house and heating)?

When I first came across the Denix Replicas 1067 1853 Civil War Enfield Rifle, its authentic design and historical significance piqued my interest. As a history enthusiast, I was excited to have this replica in my possession. The craftsmanship of the wooden and metal construction was impressive, capturing the essence of the era. However, my excitement soon turned into a slight disappointment when I realized that the rifle was just for decoration and didn't shoot.
Despite this minor setback, the replica's ability to transport me back in time and provide me with a tangible connection to history was a positive aspect. The attention to detail and the dedication to preserving its historical significance made the Enfield Rifle a worthwhile addition to my collection. It's a great conversation starter and a visually stunning piece to display in any room.
Nonetheless, I can understand how some collectors might be put off by the fact that the rifle is non-functional. While it doesn't impact the overall design and quality of the product, it may be a deciding factor for those looking for a functional replica. Overall, the Denix Replicas 1853 Civil War Enfield Rifle is an accurate and visually stunning representation of a bygone era, making it a valuable addition for any history enthusiast's collection.

Imagine owning a piece of history when you hold this stunning replica of the Denix 1125 StG 44 Assault Rifle. The attention to detail in this rifle is remarkable, from the wooden stock to the solid metal construction, all of which gives it that realistic weight and feel.
The ejecting magazine and functional trigger and bolt mechanism create an authentic experience. You can even attach a shoulder sling on the cut-out in the stock! .
In a world of theatrics and reenactments, this perfectly recreated weapon stands out. Whether you're a collector seeking a museum-grade piece or someone interested in historical replicas, this Denix replica is your go-to choice.
Its quality and historical significance are unmatched.

🔗Realistic Mossy Oak Pump Shotgun Toy

https://preview.redd.it/4zoha0y4kw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a4adcc20f29d17661c9637eb2039d4d473607d4
I was surprised by the excitement when I handed the Mossy Oak Pump Toy Shotgun to my 7-year-old son. The toy shotgun was a great size for him to play with without any worry about safety. The plastic was strong enough to withstand everyday rough play, which was a plus.
One feature that stood out was the ability to eject shells with such a real-life pump action. This was something that made the pretend game even more entertaining for my son. Additionally, the toy offered realistic firing noises that added to the overall authenticity of the experience.
However, there were a few issues that we noticed. Firstly, the quality of the plastic felt lightweight and could be easily mistaken for a real gun. Secondly, on occasion, the shells would fail to eject properly, causing some frustration for my son.
Overall, the Mossy Oak Pump Toy Shotgun provided an enjoyable experience for my son when he was pretending to be a hunter or a soldier in a make-believe world. While I wish it was a bit stronger and had fewer issues with shell ejection, the excitement it brought to my son made it a worthwhile purchase.

🔗Authentic 18th Century Kentucky Rifle Replica for Outdoor Enthusiasts

I was able to get my hands on the Denix 1138 Kentucky Rifle Replica, and let me tell you, it's a beauty. With its historical accuracy and intricate details, it really takes you back to the late 1700s.
The shorter version makes it perfect for my home, and it's quite impressive how far off the shot would have been without the "rifled" bore design! . However, I wish it could come with some additional safety features, as some of the moving parts are quite sensitive and may be accident-prone. Nonetheless, the Denix 1138 Kentucky Rifle Replica is definitely a standout for any history enthusiast or collector.

🔗Vintage Kentucky Long Rifle with Rifled Bore - Ideal for Hunting Enthusiasts

https://preview.redd.it/dzg94fs5kw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=06070e11e33fdf3e989201fc5b1ea489a14504e7
The Denix Kentucky Long Rifle is a replica of an iconic firearm from the late 1700s, originally designed and built in Pennsylvania. It had a significant role in the Revolutionary War and continued to be popular until the 19th century, becoming synonymous with figures like Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett. The Kentucky rifle was one of the first to feature a "rifled" bore, making it more accurate for its time.
My personal experience with this product has been a mixed bag. On the one hand, I found the Kentucky Long Rifle to be an incredibly accurate replica, complete with a smooth, realistic feel. It's an impressive conversation starter and adds a bit of authenticity to my display. The build quality is excellent, and it looks as close to the original as you can get.
However, I've had some issues with the reliability and durability of the product. On a few occasions, the rifle arrived in less than optimal condition, with broken parts that made it difficult or impossible to fix without further damaging the item. This made me question the overall quality control of the manufacturer.
In conclusion, the Denix Kentucky Long Rifle is undoubtedly a beautiful and historically accurate replica. If you can manage to get a well-maintained unit, it's definitely worth the investment. But, buyers beware: there have been reports of broken and poorly-made units, so it's important to be diligent and possibly consider purchasing in-person to ensure the product is up to standard.

The Magnum 1873 Winchester Rubberband Rifle is a nostalgic nod to the past, inspired by "The Gun that Won the West. " It mirrors the versatility and popularity of the original, making it a must-have for any cowboy-themed adventure. With a 28.5" gun length and a rubber band stretch of 16.5", this toy provides a fun, safe shooting experience for kids and adults alike.
Though the ammunition isn't included, it's compatible with our BLUE rubber band ammunition, adding an extra layer of authenticity. Proudly made in the USA, this wooden rifle is not just a toy, but a piece of history that can be passed down for generations.

As a reviewer who's tried the Evolution Outdoor Design EVODS Mesquite Shotgun case, let me share my experience. The case has a generous length of 50 inches, which easily accommodates my long-barreled shotgun. The quality of the canvas is top-notch, providing a sense of durability.
However, one drawback I faced was its narrow width and depth, making it challenging to fit in one of my ten different shotguns. Despite this hiccup, I was impressed by the case's protective features and its reasonable price. Overall, it proved to be a useful accessory in my outdoor arsenal.

🔗Kotobukiya Shotgun Model Accessories for 15-20cm Figures

https://preview.redd.it/kqc4vlw6kw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e03038ad57970443f6f80fa5c49889b28c6f1be3
The Kotobukiya M. S. G Weapon Unit Shotgun Plastic Model Parts MW16R is a versatile addition to any collection of detailed accessories for modeling. It's designed for robots and figures within the 15-20cm size range, making it perfect for adding that extra touch of realism to your creations. I especially appreciate the customizable options for this weapon, which I found to be a refreshing and innovative feature for an item in this category.
That being said, there were a few minor drawbacks. For one, the instructions could have been more comprehensive and clearer. Additionally, the price point might be a bit steep for some potential customers. However, overall, I would recommend this shotgun parts model to anyone in search of a high-quality accessory to complete their 15-20cm sized robot or figure collection.

🔗Pump Shotgun Set for Big Buck Hunter Arcade Games

https://preview.redd.it/nfum9c87kw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55e548062098226ea6a4b6b7236c36a81a379b64
I recently got my hands on the Big Buck Hunter Pro Arcade Game Pump Shotgun Set, and I gotta say, it completely transformed my gaming experience. The two vibrant colors, green and orange, not only add a pop of color to the game but also make it easier for me to distinguish between my guns.
One of the standout features of this set is its compatibility with a wide range of popular games like the Incredible Technologies, Raw Thrills, and Big Buck Hunter series. This versatility has made it an essential addition to my arcade setup, perfect for those intense gaming sessions with friends.
However, while the green and orange guns can stand up to the rigors of high-use machines, I have noticed a bit of wear and tear over time, which is a bit of a downside. Overall, though, the Big Buck Hunter Pro Arcade Game Pump Shotgun Set has elevated my gaming experience, and I highly recommend it for fellow arcade enthusiasts!

🔗US Model 1873 Replica Blued Finish Revolver for Collectors

I've been searching for a reliable replica for my cowboy collection, and I stumbled upon the Denix 1186B U. S. A. Model 1873 Replica. The first thing that caught my eye was the blued finish, which gives it a unique look that sets it apart from the rest.
One of the main things I liked about this replica is its weight and balance, which make it feel very authentic. It's a bit heavy, but it gives it the right feel and makes it look like a real firearm. The wood grips are another great feature, adding a touch of class to the replica.
However, there were a few drawbacks that I noticed. The cylinder's movement felt a bit clunky, and the ejector rod needed some smoothing out. But overall, these are minor issues compared to the price I paid for such a genuine-looking replica.
One of my friends even said that it's so realistic that it's like having a real Colt at home. While it may not be perfect, it's definitely a high-quality replica that I'm happy to have in my collection.

Buyer's Guide

Choosing a shotgun with the model number 1187 is a great decision for hunters and sport shooters. However, with so many options available, it can be challenging to determine which one is right for you. In this guide, we will cover some of the important features, considerations, and general advice to help you make an informed decision about your next 1187 shotgun purchase.

Choosing the Right Action Type

https://preview.redd.it/evhjnem8kw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4240a8129236aa414a3084f75539878b6db27cb9
Shotguns come in various action types, including pump-action, semi-automatic, and break-action. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns are popular for their fast cycling times, while break-action shotguns are praised for their reliability and durability. Consider your intended use and preferred ergonomics when choosing your shotgun's action type.

Gauge: The Right Size for You

Shotguns come in different gauges, with the most common being 12, 20, and 28. The gauge refers to the size of the shotgun shell, with smaller gauges producing a tighter pattern but less knockdown power. Larger gauges offer more knockdown power but may spread the shot pattern more. Choose a gauge that best suits your hunting or shooting needs.

Barrel Length: Effect on Performance and Handling

Barrel length plays a significant role in a shotgun's performance and handling characteristics. Longer barrels tend to have more accurate and consistent patterns, while shorter barrels are lighter and easier to maneuver in tight spaces. Consider your intended use and personal preferences when selecting a barrel length.

Stock Materials and Design

Shotgun stocks come in various materials, such as wood, synthetic, or even lightweight aluminum. Some stocks are adjustable, allowing shooters to customize their length of pull, drop, and comb height. Choose a stock material that suits your preferences and allows for proper fit and comfort during recoil.

Maintenance and Care

Taking care of your shotgun is crucial for maintaining its performance and longevity. Regular cleaning and lubrication are essential, and proper storage prevents damage and wear. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's recommendations and consider investing in a good quality cleaning kit and storage case.

Budget: Setting Your Limits

https://preview.redd.it/vk75l7k9kw3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e01a9a8b6579c515e06680d8caffd3d5bf6adac
Shotguns come in a wide range of prices, and it is essential to set a budget before making your purchase. Higher-end models typically offer better performance and more advanced features, but there are still excellent options available at more affordable price points. Determine your budget and prioritize the features most important to you when selecting your next 1187 shotgun.

Research and Consultation

Do your research: read online reviews, consult with experts, and try out different shotguns at a local gun shop. Learning about the specific features and performance characteristics of 1187 shotguns will help you make the best decision for your needs.
Ultimately, purchasing a shotgun with the 1187 model number is an excellent choice, but it is essential to do your research and choose a model based on your intended use, personal preferences, and budget. Remember to prioritize the features that matter most to you and take the time to make an informed decision.

2024.06.01 07:38 Pretty_Fishing_8243 QUACK GRASS, the only plant that will survive 6 nuclear holocausts, 3 asteroid collisions and a super volcano eruption. Stress less dear cockroaches you will have quackgrass.

QUACK GRASS, the only plant that will survive 6 nuclear holocausts, 3 asteroid collisions and a super volcano eruption. Stress less dear cockroaches you will have quackgrass.
Quack grass. I had no idea what the hell it was until I moved to south carolina. If an atomic bomb went off and decimated all life quack grass and cockroaches would survive, no doubt about it. Quack grass is the biggest pain in the ass I have ever encountered...well bamboo would be a close 2nd.
Quack grass looks like this ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️. There is next to nothing you can do to get rid of it. If it hides underneath rocks or bricks or edging. My friend bought a home that was easily neglected for 20 years the quackgrasd was so thick with the runners and rhizomes that when we got it I'm a four foot strip by 9 inches wide it was nearly a hardened 10 inches thick and weighed around 45 pounds.
You can't simply pull it out. Don't do it don't do it. This requires an art and even this has error. I found that if any piece particle or molecule of this plant is left behind it just spawns another assh*le plant. These plants also have a throwing arm. It grows a branch off of its main body long loooooong arm, grows easily a foot in one day and it will pitch itself into a garden bed eventually landing on the ground. Then it's little hell spawn easily take out their concrete jack roots and have no problem compromising the hardest pickaxe like soil. The driest part of my yard robbed of due to the property water that strips this area of the nutrients the other parts enjoy, is no problem for quack grass. Hydrophobic soil on this end of my yard not too lousy for the population of this parasite.
So there has been only two ways to kill this sucker that I have been able to find. It has been years in the making. Trying out different methods and there are only small periods of time when it works. These plants adore the hottest places of your yard. The black stepping stones or bricks in the boundary. Stepping stones. Concrete patio pads. Underneath sidewalks. It will burrow under these things and develop its root system underneath. It seems to be its preference. It enjoys 6 or more hours of sunlight. It's roots grow horizontally but also vertically. The vertical roots look jagged and zig zag enhancing their ability to be broken into zombie particles that grow many from the pieces.they have little cross wires that sprout up multiple plants. They go deep and wide and you just can't extract them.. impossible.
So I got a flame thrower and a propane tank..its not a flame thrower but it has a long shift with a fitting that blows fire out of its tip. People in the last few years in appropriate areas with ample rain (not in fire prone areas) and using tons of precautionary measures taken yoy take yoyr torch and you can essentially cook them alive. After a week it will die like it does for winter months. This is when you dig the soil up around it flip the soil and you burn the under side also the cavity where the soil was extracted. Then wait two weeks. Do this same treatment for any emerging ones and repeat. When you are satisfied the next plan of attack is to get a kill all. Saturate this plant at highest sun, during the day on especially hot days. Saturate them. Try to be careful to not afflict the neighboring plant life. Kill all works by saturating the exposed parts these go into the plants cells and stops them from being able to absorb water and nutrients. Even so I have seen some think themselves into existence..
You could remove the soil down to 16 inches in the area they have been spotted and if any cement or bricks heat absorbing material is around dig it up and set aside..it loves rocks.. you get rid of this dirt. Comdem it. Or solar sanitize the dirt..put it in wet black garbage bag for an entire.summer in the hot sun. I'd triple bag it because these weeds are survivors. I would also use a junk cake pan to cook the soil over a bonfire for a few minutes. Larger piece of metal will work to stream lime the process. Male sure the center if the soil reaches 220 degrees. Adding water to the soil will definitely going to aid in steaming it dead don't saturate but squirt bottle wetting while it is cooking .them.you want to screen the soil. Get any parts out of the soil and throw in burn barrel or fire pit.
The best method also kills your lawn grass but has really controlled the problem..I used kill all and before it could really emerge I saturated it and the area surrounding it with kill all. I sprayed any area I could remember it being.. it went down by 80% yet it has those underground channels and arms so it doesn't always afflict the entire plant. A surfactant ingredient (make sure it is safe to do so with your specific product) surfactants emulsify the poision and they adhere more to the plant..where it runs into the ground or evaporates quickly. Adding a surfactant can keep that demon weed choked out a little longer.
Does anyone else have any success with this terror? I'd take a lawn of regular bushy crabgrass over this any day. A lawn of dandelions would be a godsend over any of this type of parasitic grass. I wonder if taking a tazer to the plant would kill it. I mean it is worth a try no? This weed can be cooked by a torch flame thrower burned to a crisp, the soil underneath can be cooked to a good 375 degrees in a matter of seconds, and by some ungodly supernatural miracle from hell this weed can will itself into existence off of a parboiled sandgrain particle of itself. I dare say I found something besides a tumor that can be of organic biological materials that doesn't really die? It's top bad it isn't a delicious food that could be sent to the most barren and inhospitable locations on the planet where people are starving to death and we could change their lives with this plant.
Quack grass will be one of those plants that will be one of the major considerations before buying my next house. That is just how bad it is. I bet if it grows along the foundation of a home it is also doing damage to the foundation. This is almost like the habit of the plant, it's very nature is to find the fractures and weak spots and overgrow and stuff as many roots as possible through it until it crumbles.
I haven't seen much in terms of experimentation with this parasite plant but I imagine there are a lot of qualities that could be exploited for our benefit. I donr know it's full range but there are qualities of this plant that could help on a lot of applications. Erosion, it would be more than ideal it has almost a rebar kind of root system and it just keeps sending.more and more roots along these pathways. Nit breaking u9 the soil but holding it in place. It is the ugliest looking plant there has wver been.
Any ideas on what I could do? The spring poisioning worked better than anything this far. The burning seems to have eliminated new emergent particles I will know more as the time.goes on.
Any experts on this type of quack grass? Can i kill it without killing the good plants or good grass?

2024.06.01 07:25 Narrow-Werewolf4803 LifePo4 battery with metric bolts

Probably a naive question, I’m looking at ordering a spare Chinese LifePo4 battery but they use metric battery bolts, in this case specifically M5.
Is an M5 compatible with a 1/4 inch ring terminal? Don’t want to cause too much heat or something if it’s not the right size. Would then just run the ring terminal wire with power poles on the other end to hook up the radio.
What are people using for these Chinese LifePo4 batteries?

2024.06.01 07:07 Snow4us Fuse Tap only for when the engine is on? Is it safe?

Is it safe/ a good idea to tap into a fuse for something that's only on when the engine is running, sich as the Fuel Pump, Alternator, etc? I'm trying to figure out the best way to tap a signal wire for a converter that will be charging a battery bank at ~400W. Im worried a standard ACC fuse may lead to me (or the lady) accidentally draining our battery if we foreget and leave the ignition in acc or run for too long. 2024.06.01 07:04 Meridian506 Intelli-Heat and Y2 CFM rating?

I'm looking at installing a Mitsubishi Intelli-Heat system with a MXZ-SM48NAM and PAA-A36CA1 coil (plus two other 9k zones) and was wondering if anyone has theirs wired with Y2 / two-stage fan? Hoping to avoid changing out the gas furnace (working great) at this time, but the instructions don't completely state the ratings for Y2 mode or if the regular ratings are also still the limit:
My two-stage furnace can be set for Y of 1100 CFM or Y1 of 1053CFM but Y2 would be 1620CFM. The closest I can otherwise get is 713/1100, 787/1210. or 819/1260. 787/1210 is pretty dam close, but just outside both ends.
Are the ratings for Y2 the same 800-1200 range and so I would need to just use single stage Y only? Across the PAA range it looks like only the 42 really has a good min/max CFM spread (936-1660), but that coil doesn't seem to be compatible with any of the MXZ-SM series (and would be oversized anyway)
Edit: Given the target 350-400 per ton range in the first bullet, maybe Y2 is not that important anyway?
Thanks for any insight.
