Was having a debate with myself on if professor X would be loved or hated by the public if he was in the real world
He’d be hated cuz he does have the power to wipe evil intentions from peoples minds and chooses not to do so cuz he doesn’t wanna play god and invade people’s mind. He also could cure a lot more people going through mental problems as well but doesn’t. He could make a lot of politicians to do what’s right. He could make all the criminals fess up to their crimes.
But he’d also be loved for the fact that he has that power, and chooses not to use it to his own advantage. He could make the whole world do as he pleases but doesn’t.
It’s one of those 2-way street type of thing.
Regardless I’d feel like he’d be feared by everyone. He can control ur mind w/o u even knowing. That’s scary. I’d be more afraid of him than magneto.

This is an unaccustomed spectacle. For the first time, fellow-citizens, badges of mourning shroud the columns and overhang the arches of this hall. These walls, which were consecrated, so long ago, to the cause of American liberty, which witnessed her infant struggles and rung with the shouts of her earliest victories, proclaim, now, that distinguished friends and champions of that great cause have fallen. It is right that it should be thus. The tears which flow, and the honors that are paid, when the founders of the republic die, give hope that the republic itself may be immortal. It is fit that, by public assembly and solemn observance, by anthem and by eulogy, we commemorate the services of national benefactors, extol their virtues, and render thanks to God for eminent blessings, early given and long continued, through their agency, to our favored country.
ADAMS and JEFFERSON are no more; and we are assembled, fellow-citizens, the aged, the middle-aged, and the young, by the spontaneous impulse of all, under the authority of the municipal government, with the presence of the chief magistrate of the Commonwealth, and others its official representatives, the University, and the learned societies, to bear our part in these manifestations of respect and gratitude which pervade the whole land. ADAMS and JEFFERSON are no more. On our fiftieth anniversary, the great day of national jubilee, in the very hour of public rejoicing, in the midst of echoing and reechoing voices of thanksgiving, while their own names were on all tongues, they took their flight together to the world of spirits.
If it be true that no one can safely be pronounced happy while he lives, if that event which terminates life can alone crown its honors and its glory, what felicity is here! The great epic of their lives, how happily concluded! Poetry itself has hardly terminated illustrious lives, and finished the career of earthly renown, by such a consummation. If we had the power, we could not wish to reverse this dispensation of the Divine Providence. The great objects of life were accomplished, the drama was ready to be closed. It has closed; our patriots have fallen; but so fallen, at such age, with such coincidence, on such a day, that we cannot rationally lament that the end has come, which we knew could not be long deferred.
Neither of these great men, fellow-citizens, could have died, at any time, without leaving an immense void in our American society. They have been so intimately, and ofr so long a time, blended with the history of the country, and especially so united, in our thoughts and recollections, with the events of the Revolution, that the death of either of them would have touched the chords of public sympathy. We should have felt that one great link, connecting us with former times, was broken; that we had lost something more, as it were, of the presence of the Revolution itself, and of the act of independence, and were driven on, by another great remove from the days of our country’s early distinction, to meet posterity and to mix with the future. Like the mariner, whom the currents of the ocean and the winds carry along until he sees the stars which have directed his course and lighted his pathless way descend one by one, beneath the rising horizon, we should have felt that the stream of time had borne us onward till another great luminary, whose light had cheered us and whose guidance we had followed, had sunk away from our sight.
But the concurrence of their death on the anniversary of Independence has naturally awakened stronger emotions. Both had been President, both had lived to great age, both were early patriots, and both were distinguished and ever honored by their immediate agency in the act of independence. It cannot but seem striking and extraordinary, that these two should live to see the fiftieth year from the date of that act/ that they should complete that yea and that then, on the day which had fast linked for ever their own fame with their country’s glory, the heavens should open to receive them both at once. As their lives themselves were the gifts of Providence, who is not willing to recognize in their happy termination, as well as in their long continuance, proofs that our country and its benefactors are objects of His care?
ADAMS and JEFFERSON, I have said, are no more. As human beings, indeed, they are no more. They are no more, as in 1776, bold and fearless advocates of independence; no more, as at subsequent periods, the head of the government; nor more, as we have recently seen them, aged and venerable objects of admiration and regard. They are no more. They are dead. But how little is there of the great and gooe which can die! To their country they yet live, and live for ever. They live in all that perpetuatesw the remembrance of men on earth; in the recorded proofs of their own great actions, in the offspring of their intellect, in the deep-engraved lines of public gratitude, and in the respect and homage of mankind. They live in their example; and they live, emphatically, and will live, in the influence which their lives and efforts, their principles and opinions, now exerciese, and will continue to exercise, on the affairs of men, not only in their own country but throughout the civilized world. A superior and commanding human intellect, a truly great man, when Heaven vouchsafes so rare a gift, is not a temporary flame, burning brightly for a while, and then giving place to returning darkness. It is rather a spark of fervent heat, as well as radiant light, with power to enkindle the common mass of human kind; so that when it glimmers in its own decay, and finally goes out in death, no night follows, but it leaves the world all light, all on fire from the potent contact of its own spirit. Bacon died; but the human understanding, roused by the touch of his miraculous wand to a perception of the true philosophy and the just mode of inquiring after truth, has kept on its course successfully and gloriously. Newton died; yet the courses of the spheres are still known, and they yet move on by the laws which he discovered, and in the orbits which he saw, and described for them, in the infinity of space.
No two men now live, fellow-citizen, perhaps it may be doubted whether any two men have ever lived in one age, who, more than those we now commemorate, have impressed on mankind their own opinions more deeply into the opinions of others, or given a more lasting direction to the current of human thought. Their work doth not perish with them. The tree which they assisted to plant will flourish, although they water it and protect it no longer; for it has struck its roots deep, it has sent them to the very centre; no storm, not of foce to burth the orb, can overturn it; its branches spread wide; they stretch their protecting arms braoder and broader, and its top is destined to reach the heavens. We are not deceived. There is no delusion here. No age will come in which the American Revolution will appear less than it is, one of the greatest events in human history. No age will come in which it shall cease to be seen and felt, on either continent, that a mighty step, a great advance, not only in American affairs, but in human affairs, was made on the 4th of July, 1776. And no age will come, we trust, so ignorant or so unjust as not to see and acknowledge the efficient agency of those we now honor in producing that momentous event.
We are not assembled, therefore, fellow-citizens, as men overwhelmed with calamity by the sudden disruption of the ties of friendship or affection, or as in despair for the republic by the untimely blighting of its hopes. Death has not surprised us by an unseasonable blow. We have, indeed, seen the tomb close, but it has closed only over mature years, over long-protracted public service, over the weakness of age, and over life itself only when the ends of living had been fulfilled. These suns, as they rose slowly and steadily, amidst clouds and storms, in their ascendant, so they have not rushed from the meridian to sink suddenly in the west. Like the mildness, the serenity, the continuing benignity of a summer’s day, they have gone down with slow-descending, grateful long-lingering light; and now that they are beyond the visible margin of the world, good omens cheer us from “the bright track of thier fiery car”!
There were many points of similarity in the lives and fortunes of these great men. They belonged to the same profession, and had pursued its studies and its practice for unequal lengths of time indeed, but with dilligence and effect. Both were learned and able lawyers. They were natives and inhabitants, respectively of those two of the Colonies which at the Revolution were the largest and most powerful and which naturally had a lead in the political affairs of the times. When the Colonies became in some degree united by the assembling of a general Congress, they were brought to act together in its deliberations, not indeed at the same time but both at early periods. Each had laready manifested his attachment to the cause of the country, as well as his ability to maintain it, by printed addresses, public speeches, extensive correspondence, and whatever other mode could be adopted for the purpose of exposing the encroachments of the British Parliament, and animating the people to a manly resistance. Both were not only decided, but early, friends of Independence. While others yet doubted, they were resolved; where others hesitated they pressed forward. They were both members of the committee for preparing the Declaration of Independence, and they constituted the sub-committee appointed by the other members to make the draft. They left their seats in Congress, being called to other public employments at periods not remote from each other, although one of them returned to it afterwards for a short time. Neither of them was of the assembly of great men which formed the present Constitution, and neither was at any time a member of Congress under its provisions. Both have been public ministers abroad, both Vice-Presidents and both Presidents of the United States. These coincidences are now singularly crowned and completed. They have died together; and they did on the anniversary of liberty…
And now, fellow-citizens, without pursuing the biography of these illustrious men further, for the present let us turn our attention to the most prominent act of their lives, their participation in the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE…
It has sometimes been said, as if it were a derogation from the merits of this paper, that it contains nothing new; that it only states grounds of proceeding and presses topics of argument, which had often been stated and pressed before. But it was not the object of the Declaration to produce any thing new. It was not to invent reasons for independence, but to state those which governed the Congress. For great and sufficient causes, it was proposed to declare independence; and the proper business of the paper to be drawn was to set for th those causes, and justify the authors of the measure, in any event of fortune, to mthe country and to posterity. The cause of American independence, moreover, was now to be presented to the world in such manner; of it might so be, as to engage its sympathy, to command its respect, to attract its admiration; and in an assembly of most able and distinguished men, THOMAS JEFFERSON had the high honor of being the selected advocate of this cause. To say that he performed his great work well, would be doing him an injustice. To say that he did excellently well, admirably well, would be inadequate and halting praise. Let us rather say, that he so discharged the duty assigned him, that all Americans may well rejoice that the work of drawing the title-deed of their liberties devolved upon him…
The Congress of the Revolution, fellow-citizens, sat with closed doors, and no report of its debates was ever made. The discussion, therefore, which accompanied this great measure, has never been preserved, except in memory and by tradition. But it is, I believe, doing to injustice to others to say, that the general opinion was, and uniformly has been, that in debate, on the side of independence, JOHN ADAMS had no equal. The great author of the Declaration himself has espressed that opinion uniformly and strongly. JOHN ADAMS, said he, in the hearing of him who has now the honor to address you, JOHN ADAMS was our colossus on the floor. Not graceful, not elegant, not always fluent, in his public addresses, he yet came out with a power both of thought and of expression, which moved us from our seats…
The eloquence of Mr. Adams resembled his general character, and formed, indeed, a part of it. It was bold, manly, and energetic; and such the crisis required. When public bodies are to be addressed on passions excited, nothing is valuable in speech farther than as it is connected with high intellectual and moral endowments. Clearness, force, and earnestness are the qualities which produce conviction. True eloquence, indeed, does not consist in speech. It cannot be brought from far. Labor and learning may toil for it, but they will toil in vain. It must exist in the man, in the subject, and in the occassion. Affected passion, intense expression, the pomp of declamation, all may aspire to it; they cannot reach it. It comes, if it comes at all, like the outbreaking of a fountain from the earth, or the bursting forth of volcanic fires, with spontaneous, original, native force. The graces taught in the schools, the costly ornaments and studied contrivances of speech, shock and disgust men, when their own lives and the fate of their wives, their children, and their country hang on the decision of the hour. Then words have lost their power, rhetoric is vain, and all elaborate oratory contemptible. Even genius itself then feels rebuked and subdued, as in the presence of higher qualities. Then patriotism is eloquent; then self-devotion is eloquent. The clear conception, outrunning the deductions of logic, the high purpose, the firm resolve, the dauntless spirit, speaking on the tongue, beaming from the eye, informing every feature, and urging the whole man onward, right onward to his object this, this is eloquence; or rather it is something greater and higher than all eloquence, it is action, noble, sublime godlike action…
Let us, then, bring before us the assembly, which was about to decide a question thus big with the fate of empire. Let us open their doors and look upon their deliberations. Let us survey the anxious and care-worn countenances, let us hear the firm-toned voices, of this band of patriots.
HANCOCK presides over the solemn sitting; and one of those not yet prepared to pronounce for absolute independence is on the floor, and is urging his reasons for dissenting from the declaration.
“Let us pause! This step, once taken, cannot be retracted. This resolution, once passed, will cut off all hope of reconciliation. If success attend the arms of England, we shall then be no longer Colonies, with charters and with privileges; these will all be forfeited by this act; and we shall be in the condition of other conquered people, at the mercy of the conquerors. For ourselves, we may be ready to run the hazard; but are we ready to carry the country to that length? Is success so probably as to justify it? Where is the military, where the naval power, by which we are to resist the whole strength of the arm of England, for she will exert that strength to the utmost? Can we rely on constancy and perseverance of the people? or will they not act as the people of other countries have acted and, wearied with a long war, submit, in the end, to a worse oppression? While we stand on our old ground, and insist on redress of grievances, we know we are right, and are not answerable for consequences. Nothing, then, can be imputed to us. But if we now change our object, carry our pretensions farther, and set up for absolute indpendence, we shall lose the sympathy of mankind. We shall no longer be defending what we possess, but struggling for something which we never did possess, and which we have solemnly and uniformly disclaimed all intention of pursuing, from the very outset of the troubles. Abandoning thus our old ground, of resistance only to arbitrary acts of oppression, thee nations will believe the whole to have been mere pretence, and they will look on us, not as injured, buut as ambitious subjects. I shudder before this responsibility. It will be on us, if, relinquishing the ground on which we have stood so long, and stood so safely, we now proclaim independence, and carry on the war for that object, while these cities burn, these pleasant fields whiten and bleach with the bones of their owners, and these streams run blood. It will be upon us, it will be upon us, if, failing to maintain this unseasonable and ill-judged declaration, a sterner despotism, maintained by military power, shall be exhausted, a harassed, misled people, shall have expiated our rashness and atoned for our presumption on the scaffold.”
It was for Mr. Adams to reply to arguments like these. We know his opinions, and we know his character. He would commence with his accustomed directness and earnestness.
“Sink or swim, live or die, survive or perish, I give my hand and my heart to this vote. It is true, indeed, that in the beginning we aimed not at independence. But there’s a Divinity which shapes our ends. The injustice of England has driven us to arms; and blinded to her own interest for our good, she has obstinately persisted, till independence is now within our grasp. We have but to reach forth to it, and it is ours. Why, then, should we defer the Declaration? Is any man so weak as now to hope for a reconciliation with England, which shall leave either safety to the country and its liberties, or safety to his own life and his own honor? Are not you, Sir, who sit in that chair, is not he, our venerable colleague near you, are you not both already the proscribed and predestined objects of punishment and of vengeance? Cut off from all hope of royal clemency, what are you, what can you be, while the power of England remains, but outlaws? If we postpone independence, do we mean to carry on, or to give up, the war? Do we mean to submit to the measures of Parliament, Boston Port Bill and all? Do we mean to submit, and consent that we ourselves shall be ground to poweder, and our country and its rights trodden down in the dust? I know we do not mean to submit. We shall never submit. Do we intend to violate that most solemn obligation ever entered into men, that plighting, before God, of our sacred honor to Washington, when, putting forth to incure the dangers of war, as well as the political hazards of our times, we promised to adhere to him, in ever extremity, with our fortunes and our lives? I know there is not a man here, who would not rather see a general conflagration sweep over the land, or an earthquake sink it, than one jot or tittle of that plighted fiath fall to the ground. For myself, having, twelve months ago, in this place, moved you, that George Washington be appointed commander of the forces raised, or to be raised, for defence of American liberty, may my right hand forget her cunning, and my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I hesitate or waver in the support I give him… ”
And now, fellow-citizens, let us not retire from this occasion without a deep and solemn conviction of the duties which have developed upon us. This lovely land, this glorious liberty, these benign institutions, the dear purchase of our fathers, are ours; ours to enjoy, ours to preserve, ours to transmit. Generations past and generations to come hold us responsible for this sacred trust. Our fathers, from behind, admonish us, with their anxious paternal voices; posterity calls out to us, from the bosom of the future; the world turns hither its solicitous eyes; all, conjure us to act wisely, and faithfully, in the relation which we sustain.
We can never, indeed, pay the debt which is upon us; but by virtue, by morality, by religion, by the cultivation of every good principle and every good habit, we may hope to enjoy the blessing, through our day, and to leave it unimpaired to our children. Let us feel deeply how much of what we are and of what we possess we owe to this liberty, and to these institutions of government. Nature has, indeed, given us a soil which yields bounteously to the hand of industry, the mighty and fruitful ocean is before us, and the skies over our heads shed health and vigor. But what are lands, and seas, and skies, to civilized man, without society, without knowledge, without morals, without religious culture; and how can these be enjoyed, in all their extent and all their excellence, but under the protection of wise institutions and a free government? Fellow-citizens, there is not one of us, there is not one of us here present, who does not, at this moment, and at every moment, experience, in his own condition, and in the condition of those most near and dear to him, the influence and the benefits, of this liberty and these institutions. Let us then acknowledge the blessing, let us feel it deeply and powerfully, let us cherish a strong affection for it, and resolve to maintain and perpetuate it. The blood of our fathers, let it not have been shed in vain; the great hope of posterity, let it not be blasted.
The striking attitude, too, in which we stand to the world around us, a topic to which, I fear, I advert too often, and dwell on too long, cannot be altogether ommited here. Neither individuals nor nations can perform their part well, until they understand and feel its importance, and comprehend and justly appreciate all the duties belonging to it. It is not to inflate national vanity, nor to swell a light and empty feeling of self-importance, but it is that we may judge justly of our situation, and of our own duties, that I earnestly urge you upon this consideration of our position and our character among the nations of the earth. It cannot be denied, but by those who would dispute against the sun, that with America, and in America, a new era commences in human affairs. This era is distinguised by free representative governments, by entire religious liberty, by improved systems of national intercourse, by a newly awakened and unconquerable spirit of free inquiry, and by a diffusion of knowledge through the community, such as has been before altogether unknown and unheard of America, America, our country, fellow-citizens, our own dear and native land, is inseparably connected, fast bound up, in fortune and by fate, with these great interests. If they fall, we fall with them; if they stand, it will be because we have maintained them. Let us contemplate, then, this connection, which binds the prosperity of others to our own; and let us manfully discharge all the duties which it imposes. If we cherish the virtues and the principles of our fathers, Heaven will assist us to carry on the work of human liberty and human happiness. Auspicious omens cheer us. Great examples are before us. Our own firmament now shines brightly upon our path. WASHINGTON is in the clear, upper sky. These other stars hae now joined the American Constellation; they circle round their centre, and the heavens beam with new light. Beneath this illumination let us walk the course of life, and at its close devoutly commend our beloved country, the common parent of us all, to the Divine Benignity.

Salaam everyone,
I was going to write this post irregardless to the women who thought from my previous post I was mysognatic, playing into stereotypes, and “using my personal issues” to feed into this all.
Again just like my previous post, I mean no offense to anyone, and will be writing this more on a personal level as I can resonate a lot more and it’s not a rant like my previous post, and aimed at all you hardworking women out there trying to do what’s right, (yes this will be based on what I have heard, seen, have thought, and experiences).
I 29(f) am a counsellor here in the uk. Things are tough for us all. Especially us women.
All we do is look around and see, the hatred. Everyday you wake up, every day you are torn. You do not even see it coming. But all u know is that bitter taste in your mouth, that permanent scorn on your face, and the mental weight burdening you, it’s too heavy to lift. There’s anger there. It’s suffocating you, nawing at you. And maybe if you weren’t so busy being tired from the children driving you crazy, or the fact trying to do all the chores, or arranging for all the things needed in the house, or keeping family ties, or your 9-5 job and your salah, you would feel the moment it started growing.
In fact YOU KNOW, the moment it started growing. He was sitting there, trying you. Doing those gross habits you told him to stop. That you didn’t like. And he continued.
It’s like he’s a child with no understanding of basics. But he pushes ur boundaries. CONTINOUSLY. Like a stubborn child you can not get through too. In one ear and out the other.
If it weren’t for you needing the roof over your head, you would probably run a mile. If only you had known before you got married. But u tried. Each time u tried, u did ur sabr. U tried to please Allah. U tried to do the Islamic thing. And you continue to do so everyday, you take care of things. But ur exhausted! Why are u not allowed to rest? Why are u not allowed to enjoy? Everyday is like a never ending day of exhaustion and chores.
U tried to approach him, but he doesn’t want to know. U try tell him ur unhappy, and he’s either too busy on his phone/console, sitting there doing nothing, or just being an extra piece of getting in the way with his “helping”. You swear to Allah that he does it intentionally, when u ask, so u never ask again. Or the constant never ending list of “oh but u didn’t do this, or that, u forgot this, u need to sort this out….”
He has no accountability for anything. Half the things you do, he doesn’t even REALISE NEEDS DOING. He thinks the magic fairy comes and stocks up the clothes, or changes the bed sheets, he has no idea.
You Cook, clean, got to work, take care of the children, entertain them, try to get them to listen but they do not want to know. But their father - he can never do no wrong. You ask him to get involved and he either tells u to do it urself or he gets involved and as usual makes things worse with his “helping”.
For the love of Allah, what is wrong with him?
You go to him again, and try to tell him something is not right, but he’s huffing or eye rolling or WORST still his half listening, cos u are not worth 5 mins of undivided attention. And that if you see him. Otherwise he’s always out the house. Always doing what HE wants. It’s eating away at you. You didn’t sign up to this, if Allah decreed that man should be the provider then why am I the one doing all the dogs work? Why am I carrying the 90% of the hard work? If not all? This is worse than being alone. Being single. At least when you’re alone or single, you do not have to feel so alone.
So you decide to make yourself happy. You try to reach out to those around u, or see if any other woman feels like how you do. You read the comments “women are not traditional, women are this, and the other” your annoyed, Of course anything goes wrong “it’s always the woman fault… they always good digger or there always the bad ones” these men, they have no regard for anything and it’s not just your husband. They have no accountability to their nasty actions to US. No. They are always critising instead. Always put more work on your back like your nothing more then just a donkey. They do not even care to help, to listen, to understand! Your alone, and to them, your always the enemy unless they need something. So vile. Never a word of thank u. Let alone wanting to spend time. U don’t even know why you’re trying as hard anymore. He doesn’t want to know. He doesn’t even care.
So you find solace in the moments of your work. But they are there too. Men. Again you’re being told about how useless, and how horrible us women are. Let’s see them give birth or go through child birth, I bet then the whole world would hear about it. Poor them and their never ending emotions. And that’s IF he bothers talking to you. But you enjoy ur work, nonetheless. It’s supposed to be for you, what you want. But still ur exhausted, worried about the bills too.
Then it starts, him making your life hard. “Islam says this and Islam says that….” But why the hell should I listen to him when he’s preaching what he does not even practise?. He can’t even show me kindness, or love, yet HE is critising me or accusing me of things. I’ve achieved more than him, and he is nothing but a weak man.
You scream back at him, the same things you been repeating for years, and then he has the nerve to call you “emotional and irrational”.
You had a bad day at work, and you’re exhausted, but there’s so much to do, so much to catch up on, and all you wanted was a hug, that you know you never receive, some love, a moment of peace to yourself and some rest! SOME RELIEF. But can he even give that to you? No.
You hate him. You are like a single parent with an extra child to look after who does not even pull his weight! No accountability, no responsibility! And all you do is try and try and is that taken into consideration? Of course not! Your the one “whose supposed to be Islamically perfect, your not allowed to be human and make mistakes or have need or wants, or anything else!” That’s what they all tell you, “your the one who needs to raise above it cos your the woman” BUT YOUR ALREADY DOING EVERYTHING SINGLE HANDED! You are providing also, you are raising the kids, you are in effective doing everything, but him? At a moments notices he’s out the house or “needs his down time” like YOU don’t need the same thing doing both duties!
What do u get in return for ur efforts? Loneliness! What do u get in return? Hatred & harshness! Not even treated like a person let alone anything else! You’re so angry!
It’s so easy to be consumed by the bitterness of this world especially when ur treated by the one you love with such harshness. So Sisters, out there I hope this helps, may not all you can relate too but in some way I hope you do. We are often left with so much burden, so much anger so much lack of appreciation due to men not opening up, critising us, demanding unreal expectation from us, and then on top, of that being shown no mercy!
For the brothers, STOP TREATING THE SISTER LIKE THEIR EMOTIONS ARE WEAPON COS OF THEIR GENDER AND STOP WITH THE LACK OF MERCY!
Allah made women from your rib, for you to do your responsibility too, but irregardless to whether u provide, women are also having to provide these days too, that should be acknowledged and accepted that it’s hard to live on a 1 person income. Do not demand from them “basic duties” when u feel like it especially regarding children and chores, when u urself are not doing ur basics by showing your love to your spouse, communicating it, and be merciful towards her needs and feelings.
Marriage is about compromise and it’s about shared responsibility and about putting the other persons need first, whether u are man or woman. We are all human! We all need the same basic things in our life, and just as men need emotional support so do women! In fact the way women understand more is THREW emotion! Stop using Islam when u feel like it, and stop being uncompromising on basic things! Today’s society is hard to live by traditional standards but we are all doing our best! Hii!! I'm Datura and as the title says I am looking to write a paranoid and witchy lighthouse keeper. I would love for this to be romance-focused but I also wanna play around with some supernatural/paranormal and dark themes. Let me explain my idea a little more:
My girlie would operate a lighthouse on this small island, it wouldn't be too far from a city port so if we wanna have our characters venture into civilization they can. The land and shore is usually covered in fog so there's a lighthouse to help ships that dock to move/pick up supplies, weather out storms, ect, ect. But there would be something very wrong with the island and the “people” on it, wander around long enough you'll eventually be approached by people in the fog. They'll try to act human because they'd be some sort of SW-like entity but because of social isolation they come off as very strange and uncanny. My OC stays there because she's a witch and dabbles in the occult so she can use these SW’s in her rituals without having to get “supplies”(organs, limbs, ect) from actual humans.
Because of these creatures my OC is very paranoid of the people she meets, as she often has to filter out these “non-humans” from actual humans. She has tests and questions she'll ask your character when they meet to test if he is human, this is where the idea can branch out into multiple ways!! These are some ideas I had but feel free to suggest any of your own as well
Supernatural/non-human: YC technically isn't a human(werewolf, demon, vamp, wtv u please) so when faced with my character’s tests he fails. My character has never had this happen before so the fate of ur OC is completely in his own hands as he has to convince her to spare him. Their dynamic would be distrustful at first but eventually MC will soften up.
Wrecked Captain: She finds YC washed up on the beach after a wreck and takes pity on him. Instead of making him prove himself right off the bat she takes him back to the lighthouse and nurses his wounds. However because of her uncertainty she'll keep YC either restrained or under constant surveillance until he can prove he is human. Perhaps YC also had a crew and she will help YC search for the surviving members, the two having to navigate through SW’s “pretending” to be those crew mates to find the actual humans survivors.

lets go into that now, u dont need to write down the answers like in P2 nor do u have to KNOW what to do AND write like in P3 for paper 1. For paper 1 u just have to be able to judge (BTW i posted about how to prepare for P1 where i already mentioned this so do refer to that if needed).
-IN SUMMARY-
4 OPTIONS, 2 OF THEM IS JUST PLAIN WRONG, 2 OF THEM LOOKS CORRECT, use concept to give a probability percentage for the two and choose the most probable one *USE CONCEPTS TO BACK IT UP. 80% of the time ur gonna choose correctly
4 types of Qs
where u calculate ur answer
one where u apply raw concepts (from the book straight) to pick the answe
one where u have to mix match the concepts to get the answer (above mentioned is for that type)
one where u do calculations but its not exactly numerical (organic types, idk how to exactly catagorize this type so ifykyk)
IN DETAIL you have 4 options, u need to have a good understanding of the concepts for this paper AND u should be able to mix match the concepts u have to get the right answer, thts literally paper 1. Ofcrse some Qs u have to do working but im talking abt choosing the answer type of Qs not the calculate the answer types.
OK so say u suck at calculations, u can still do all the choosing option Qs with this technique (disclaimer: this only works if u have a good concept background). 4 options 1 correct answer, which one if MOST probably right?. give it percentage, usually 2 options are plain wrong and the other 2 both looks correct but only 1 of the 2 is actual correct answer, so ur gonna do a probability backed up by ur concept knowledge and ur gonna choose the option. Ofcourse some Qs are so direct u can easily pick the correct answer.
Now even the calculation Qs have a technique for which i think u should just practice paper, no i dont mean make 2017-2020 all variants all Qs ur goal, NO. u are going to find ALL the types of Qs that have been asked in past papers (choose ur range idc that depends on ur judgement) and try to learn how its solved each time. AGAIN CONCEPTS WILL GUIDE U THROUGH UNDERSTANDING HOW THE CALCULATIONS WORK WHICH IS WHY CONCEPT IS IMPORTANT FOR P1. no concept= not much luck on ur side for P1. so ur gonna figure out the methodology for each type of Qs IN EACH TOPIC. i mean generally speaking not all topics have calculation based Qs, like inorganic barely has any calculation based Qs so its really a small range of chapters and types of Qs all in all. DONT MEMORIZE THE METHOD, UNDERSTAND IT so that u can flexibly use it to solve unknown types of Qs so that u can be prepared.
[[[[past papers are for preparing urself for the exams, u learn from textbook and u apply in past paper to practice application so that u can apply it in ur exam paper to get the Qs right. very simple. so if u know the concepts and don't know how to apply u will still be able to solve some Qs just not all of them]]]]]]

If ur gonna tell urself "i cant do it" "its too hard" "omg how am i gonna do this im gonna fail" trust me ur bound to fail PARTLY BECAUSE U THOUGHT THAT WAY. yes wondering "how am i gonna do this is" is a good mindset but WHY HAVE YOU DECIDED U ARE GONNA FAIL BEFORE U ACTUALLY FAILED. save it for when u fail bro for now focus on NOT failing. seriously what is wrong with you? are u gonna deprive urself of ur potential solely because u think u cant do it? no thats wrong. THINK U CAN, overconfidence? sure underestimation? NO.

I had a friend, I knew him well but I wish we were closer. We were in college we met through a fraternity and he was the guy who picked me to be part of his “family”. He was ROTC, we worked out together here and there, he was a riot at parties and just in the fraternity in general. I lived with him his last year of college up to the night before he was supposed to set off for a few years in a few different countries. He was worried about his relationship with his girlfriend, they’d already been long distance for a year. He was excited about things to do in Korea, he got the job he wanted since freshman year, he just passed the hardest class he had taken in college with an asshole professor and with a classmate he would tell me and the other roommate about that we would all laugh about together.

I came back to the door reached under to see what was behind it, I touched paper, picked it up, saw the words “I’m sorry”, dropped the paper and pushed the door harder and it wasn’t that hard to open.
I found him on his bed, rifle between his arms and legs, pointed just a little upwards. His eyes were open and gray. Blood was on every wall and soaking his bed and the floor behind him all the way to the next corner of the room. I called 911, they told me to do CPR and I said he’s dead. It had to have been hours, there was so much blood. There was no point. I didn’t touch my phone after the call until the police had me outside. They needed me outside while they checked out the “crime scene”. I was just caught off guard by the term. I called the roommate who was in another city and asked him where he was and if he could stay there. He asked me what was wrong and I had to tell him. He was 3 hours away at midnight and he got in the car and made it over in an hour and a half. I called the other roommate to tell him to stay at a friends tonight, he was home in 30 minutes. When they got here I was still waiting outside. I remember getting pissed about people walking down the sidewalk looking at us like we’d done something wrong. There’s literally a sidewalk on the other side of the road maybe just pretend to mind ur business. Questions came and went, detective had more, we were let back in around 1. Cops still had things to do and to take away his body. Other than the cops I was the only one who saw him. We stayed in the basement passing time playing chess while the cops finished up. Some jokes were made but we’d circle back to silence a lot.
They left, we found out we actually have to find a cleaning service for all the blood and damage in the room. We had to figure out how to pay the last month of rent without him. He left his clothes in the wash for us to find days later after we avoided the place for days. It stunk. I didn’t notice a smell in his room when I found him and I thought that was interesting. I think I took the longest to go back out of all of us. And for some reason I was super defensive over his room. Nobody should go in there while the blood hasn’t been cleaned up. I sat in the room with everything but his body still there when I found myself alone. I remember thinking I want to remember this. I’m not sure why I wanted to keep it to myself or why I wanted so badly to be in there before all the cleanup was done. But I did and I remember.
I was a wreck for the next maybe 2 months. When his parents came his girlfriend came along. They gave me so much of his stuff and it made me feel terrible. I left early that day because his alarm had been going off for hours. I should’ve woken him up but he did that all the time and this time I decided to leave it to a roommate, “I’m gonna go get a smoothie and try and make sure todays a good day at work” was basically the mindset that morning. I got diagnosed with ptsd, took medication for a month, then promptly dropped it. The school recommended their therapy, I hated the entrance and never visited a second time.
Now two years later, one semester left in college. I’m already getting the date wrong. I was off by a month! I told my girlfriend I was probably not going to do very well May 1st and she was understanding. The day came and went without me realizing May had began, and now today I get a message from another friend asking me how I’m doing, if I want to go do something. And I sat at work wondering what this was out of the blue. An hour goes by and it hits me. I leave work an hour after that and on the way I decide to make a detour and see the house again. I was holding back tears on the highway. I was sobbing at the entrance to the neighborhood. I parked across the street, looked at the house and sat in silence. Nothing was going on. New cars were parked in the driveway. I skipped through a couple songs and then drove home. I got in bed, I went to YouTube to find something I’ve never been able to find, an account of the same experience from someone else. Still can’t find it. I know people have been here before me but I feel like I can’t find direction. I respect therapy but I keep too busy for it. I’ve discovered that when I do have time for it and I should soon that I have to have it in person. I’m guilty in leaving him alone. It’s not my fault but I had an opportunity to say something to him that morning and instead I left. I told his girlfriend I felt like I couldn’t talk to her, and I still don’t reach out ever, I took his stuff and his clothes from his parents. I broke up with a friend of his a week before. I was barely hanging out with him at the time and I knew he was about to leave, I was just so busy.
The feeling come and go quick now but the intensity never changes. I have less triggers but when I remember I can’t hold back the tears, I want to throw up, I want to go back so bad, if not to that morning then at least back to the days after. I want to sit in that room again, I want to take more action in getting the place cleaned. So many problems came the month after and I just sat there rotting and crying and complaining about how every conversation I had was about me. I felt so guilty, feel so guilty and people were feeling sorry for me and I hated that. I don’t know what to do to in the short term, long term after next semester I’m going to therapy. That’s it for the plan… I don’t talk to a lot of the same people anymore and I don’t plan to do much reaching out anymore. I tried that a lot before and I feel like all the reach out I did only served to further separate myself. I don’t normally beat myself up too much other than on this topic. I just want to read or listen to someone else’s account of the same experience. I don’t feel like I’m pioneering this path but I can’t find anything either on my own. If anyone finds this who is having the same problem I have. Write it all down and walk away. Reminders will come less and less often but this is too long of a rant to only have a piece of it swirling around in ur head. Come to a conclusion and go to something else.

I hadn't really played Master Duel since a bit after launch; I just made it to gold 2 or smt with Aroma in the first season, and dropped it because the unbalanced game wasn't enjoyable.
I had fun playing TCG since then, got more knowledgeable about the game, and got myself a pet deck; all my experiences prior Master Duel were Duel Links, and Rata videos.
I kept in touch with Master Duel through this reddit, and content creators, and yesterday, I decided I'd create a fresh new account, and would dedicate all the newbie free gems towards building my pet deck, and rising to the heights I couldn't before, even if said rank isn't as statistically high as it once was.
The 750 packs got me a few nice cards, and together with the very first starter deck, and the Link Generations, I built myself something decent to earn myself as many gems as possible in the Solo Mode.
My pet deck is Naturia Vernusylph, with a bunch of Earth good stuff; the problems is, both of those archetypes have 90% URs for some reason. The first pack I decided to focus on was the Vernusylph, as it was the archetype that could more easily support whatever else I decide to build around them.
My first deck for ranked was Vernusylph with a bunch of staples, and some interesting tech choices. I got lucky, and pulled 3 of the G Golem Pebble Dog; they combo well with Vernusylph because they generate discard fodder, and their Link-2 is also decent because you can return spent Vernusylphs to the hand after reviving it with Vera.
Other cool things I used was a combination of that World Legacy normal monster with 1800 ATK, ROTA, Unexpected Dai, and Link Spider; they allow me to bait for Ash Blossoms, and make an easy link climb towards Aussa.
If they tried to handtrap me or anything, I had Triple Tactics Thrust to search for whatever I wanted like a toolbox; among the options were Tactics, Raigeki, Reborn, Imperm, Unexpected Dai, and even some traps I ran here and there for going second like Raigeki Break which comboes well with Pebble Dog.
The opponents don't think 2 normal monsters are worth much, so they allow me to access the Rank 4 toolbox as well; this isn't as versatile as the spells I mentioned before as all the good Rank 4s are URs, but at least Bagooska is SR.
This should make clear that my deck can't go first; no matter how low the rank, I was unable to build a board, so I relied on breaking it.
The 6th card helps, even though the opponent will always have around 7+ cards in term of actual value by the time it's my turn; Earth Kaiju, Vera, Ultimate Slayer, MST, those are all things that help.
I always enjoy imagining my opponent's face when I break the board using Ultimate Slayer sending Kachi Kochi Dragon, Junk Warrior, or Traffic Ghost, then proceed to normal summon the normal mon from the tutorial.
I fondly remember somewhere along Silver 1 or Gold 5 I had this duel with a Blue-Eyes player that I ended up losing, but was super fun as we outplayed each other, and had to go in a bit of a grindgame; him with the Jet, eggs, and Bystials, and me struggling to revive Vera every turn.
Somewhere between Gold 4 or 3 I find issues; even though I can adapt fairly well, the power of my cards can't keep up, or I get unlucky with the draws while my opponents play stronger things like Kashtira, or Swordsoul.
I still couldn't complete my Naturia Vernusylph deck; opening the Naturia packs neither gave me the UR Naturias I needed, nor gave me URs in general; I was swimming in SRs in comparison, but although the Pots are nice, they don't solve the core issue of power level.
I saw the season would end the 31, so I tried to collect as many gems as possible from the solo mode to pull a few more packs, and then I'd finally craft whatever was missing, dust the remaining things, and repeat.
The Main Deck of the final deck was pretty much complete with a few exceptions, but the Extra Deck was utterly empty; I pulled a Barkion, and had to craft a Beast.
With this 50% power level Naturia Vernusylph, I jumped back in, and I felt like home; I could play around Ash, Maxx C, Imperm, but Called By was super painful to go through.
In my deck I like to run the main deck Aussa, and Small World; I value consistency, and versatility, so being able to craft my hand the exact way I need is, well, cool; so long as there is 1 Mole Cricket either on field or GY, it is the equivalent of "full combo" for a control player.
I had some intense games in this rank too against Labrynth, Sky Striker, and of course, Snake Eyes.
I lost every game I had against Snake Eyes, but the more I played against them, the closer I got towards winning.
In the past, I would usually underestimate Snake Eyes, I would question how people played against them; to some degree I still think like that, the context is different in Master Duel with a blind best of 1, and limited resources.
The only thing I had in order to threaten them was Maxx C, however its value is greatly diminished when my opponent has multiple points of interaction, and plusses after every activation, and attempt at removal, while I go -1 after every card activation, and my effects are all hard once per turn, so if I draw 2 of the same Vernusylph, I can't use them.
I also lack the UR points to craft boardbreakers; I could only afford the Maxx Cs. Yet I'm still satisfied; I duelled them on the backfoot, but on my own terms.
It's clear who has the weaker deck, so it's satisfying to give them a little scare sometimes. I remember this game in which I drew the 1-of Nibiru, and nuked their board creating a 17K/12K token. Even tributing the token for my Kaiju, and hitting over it with Nibiru left them with 100 LP, leaving me ready to die next turn, so I tried to revive Vera with my Vernusylph, and got Ashed.
It was fun. These experiences taught me a lot about how cards should not be designed, and I hope they are hit real soon.
Anyway, after two full days of intense adventure (I wonder how many hours I accumulated), I reached Platinum 5 , and it was exactly when my music playlist was ending too, so super exciting.
I reached my goal with the deck I created myself, and love the most, while facing great challenges, and just in the nick of time. It was very fun.

 CHAPTER ONE: da boys and huh? 

Ok let’s be honest who wouldn’t want to be the main character of an isekai anime/manga. Luckily this happened to me and I was LUCKY I mean LUCKY.

So anyway that’s me (before summon) but back to story. I didn’t even respond but I thought very hard about this and I decided on four people, (all my friends obviously) Drake, Ryan, KK, and my other friend Chris who ill call Kristopher just to keep from confusion. So after I finish thinking about it I just go to sleep and a little later I feel something fluffy and wake up on a cloud infront of a giant castle in the middle of the sky!
Ok this is crazy so I’m thinking like “dang another lucid dream time to become Superman and trick my own mind npcs into being self aware that their npcs.” But then as I try to fly I can’t I’m super confused so I just walk in like I own da place and I see some thrown and a lady sitting on it and I’m thinking “no don’t make this a weird dream and try to use ur 1 in 100,000 chance to actually pull women.” But she cuts me off and says “hello Christopher, (no one besides my friends and mom know that my full name is actually Christopher, which is kinda weird ngl) I have been bored recently, so I have decided to experiment with a loser like you (ouch man😢) and transport you to another world with 4 people of your choice and no restrictions to see what you do.” She proceeds to clap her hands and I wake up with my four friends in clearing next to a forest and next to what looks like an old medieval looking town.

We need more jobs. Shelters fucking suck. They think so too. I know many who are disenchanted everyday and hate their own volunteering because its so disheartening. But the only preventative care requires the animals and not the actual people.

Shelters can train people to house sit or make in home visits. And provide (in home) emergency care/services under nurse supervision. Or transportation services.
And how are vets not in constant contact with Shelters? Why are they always separate alien services?
Pet insurance is bullshit and deliberately scummy because you have to get it Pronto or else they will not provide for any "existing conditions"
Like excuse me what? Most people don't even KNOW pet insurance is a thing UNTIL the animal is sick or injured and the vet suggests it THEN.
And they're insurance. Insurance does EVERYTHING not to pay.
Rescue is good. Adopt don't shop isn't bad.

Because now people feel pressure to rescue/adopt--and then can't take CARE of them and see their poor animals as social value and an accessory or something to get them friends when going out.

sometimes i wonder how much of a dumbass i am when i think abt u. u teach very well but my attitude and behaviour became shit later on. i had trauma from my previous math chers since primary school. when u 1st taught me at ur home, i thought i attained enlightenment for math that i never had b4. i was interested for ur class and signed up. i was totally not ready for what u were actually going to be later on…
fast forward 2-3months, i was getting along well with the ppl in the same tuition class as me and 1 of my classmates coincidentally joined me. due to ur methods u taught me that were faster than my school, i got an a for my wa1 and i was happy abt it. u told me that this is poof of my hard work and i should leave behind all my past trauma with previous math chers. u even told me that i should just listen to u and screw the cher in school cos he was slow and boring. however my classmates math was worse than mine and constantly got mocked and picked on by u. i thought he was joking but looking at my classmates face it said something else…
fast forward another 2 months, everytime i tried to ask u math qns via text,u tell me that u will help me later but it never happens. the best case being that u make me and the other do that qn in class. after 15-20mins u will go thru it with the shortest method possible while asking us ‘is it rlly that hard?’ , ‘its not rocket sci ah, y are y’all struggling?’ even tho came from the best of jcs, they take a while to understand and apply what u are doing since ur method is a little different,isn’t that common sense? u try to force me to attend online classes against me and my mums will and now everytime i ask u a qn via text, u say i can’t learn via ur explanation on text and cannot learn under zoom either?????
fast forward to the dec hols, u knew i was in hospital and was under a 1 month hospital leave as i can’t walk properly alongside the fact that i would be going overseas after my hospital leave. in fact u even visited me in the hospital and gave a cake to me. i was surprised and overjoyed to the point i made a very quick recovery and could even be discharged the next day. however, after the hospital stay and while i was recovering at home, u spammed me every week to come for class. its like u turned a blind eye to my circumstances. u also asked me abt the promotion status of my classmate constantly.
finally at the beginning of this yr,i could finally join ur class again. as i try to grasp on to what u were trying to teach without success, u told me ‘see i told u to come for class during the hols and what happened?’ i tried to explain my circumstance that time to u again but u turned a deaf ear to it. u even started mocking me when i didn’t understand what u were saying and got impatient when i asked u to explain again. funny thing is when the others ask anything, u would tend to their needs patiently and will encourage them when they got their qns wrong.
when wa1 results were released, it could be said that i regressed to what i was before i met u. surprisingly i got a b and was quite happy abt it. when i text u my results,u never replied me,not even a gj or well done. when i came back home that day, i found out that u were instead boasting to my mum that u were the one who allowed me to get the b instead of my own effort. sometime later, after getting mocked,receiving sarcasm from u,siding other people against me when they were clearly in the wrong,not replying to my texts and forcing me to come at times where im not available multiple times, i have come to the realisation that this place in a hellhole due to ur idiotic hierarchy based on the jc ranking. since i was in the lowest of jcs and the worst performing one and alongside the fact that my classmate didn’t promote, i was at the lowest rung of the hierarchy and would therefore be picked on u. it was so bad at times where i would want to text my chem cher instead for help for any qn be it in or out of ur class. as of rn, i am trying to change a math tutor to someone else instead of u. i used to like u so much and now i feel nth but hatred towards u. im sick of the hell im facing every weekend. after the remaining amount of classes i have paid for i would never wish to see ur face again

So I've been basically working on my own low tech scifi ttrpg on and off for the past few years to flesh out a personal project. It started out as a reskin of 5E but since then I've been trying to think of new mechanics to make it more distinct.
So far the biggest differences I've come up with is simplifying the numbers down to variables of 3 (i.e using mainly D6s and D12s for skill roles, mainly for simplicities sake) and re working Armor class mechanics. In my game AC is replaced by a LUCK mechanic, each time you level up, you roll a d6, the result of that roll will be ur Armor Class until you level up again. Now, if you roll shit Luck, you're not completely screwed, you can equip Body Armor which reduces whatever damage is inflicted, the better the armor, the heavier it'll be to carry.
Outside of the classes and their abilities, though, what little play testing I've done still kind of feels like a reskin. Are there any mechanics or concepts from other ttrpgs which might help?

My baseball team has always traveled to away games on a regular school bus and we're used to lying down, getting up, just moving around. Well we have a longer tournament this weekend and the school chartered a regular bus to get us around, and i was talking with the company about meet times and everything, so they sent pictures and it got seat belts at every seat. I'm captain and kinda in charge of the team on the buses, just making sure that nothing gets out of hand, we're all on time, etc. My question is on the seat belts. In my own car, I'm honestly a 100 percent "no belt, no ride" kinda guy even for dudes in back, but I know everyone will be mad AF at wearing them on the bus. I know I probably shouldn't care if I would be an AH about this, haha, but would I?

 CHAPTER ONE: da boys and huh? 

Ok let’s be honest who wouldn’t want to be the main character of an isekai anime/manga. Luckily this happened to me and I was LUCKY I mean LUCKY.
Anyway here’s how it started. So I just get home me and da boys hop on cod and goof around. While we’re doing that I look at my phone and I realize it’s 11:30 pm and I freak out. So I grab some papa John’s and try to go to bed (still talking with my boys) and then I get a mystery message that wasn’t creepy or anything it was just funny it says “if you got transported to another world who would you take with you?” Ok first before I say anything let me introduce myself before we go any further.
NAME Chris DESCRIPTION Average as can be with few but great friends STATS (pre summon) (ranks: F, E, D, C, B, A, S)
Strength: D (below average aka skinny)
Agility: C (always average but I’d still say it’s good)
Endurance: C(I was always running so it helped)(btw this includes hp)
Dex: B (trained hand eye coordination always works out with cod)
Charisma: F (look bro I can’t talk to strangers unless someone else I know is there and can lead conversations)

Intelligence C ( always got Bs I still think it’s good)

So anyway that’s me (before summon) but back to story. I didn’t even respond but I thought very hard about this and I decided on four people, (all my friends obviously) Drake, Ryan, and my other friend Chris who ill call Kristopher just to keep from confusion. (ALL NAMES ARE NOT REAL PPL BTW) I’ll give the stats in just a minute. So after I finish thinking about it I just go to sleep and a little later I feel something fluffy and wake up on a cloud infront of a giant castle in the middle of the sky!
Ok this is crazy so I’m thinking like “dang another lucid dream time to become Superman and trick my own mind npcs into being self aware that their npcs.” But then as I try to fly I can’t I’m super confused so I just walk in like I own da place and I see some thrown and a lady sitting on it and I’m thinking “no don’t make this a weird dream and try to use ur 1 in 100,000 chance to actually pull women.” But she cuts me off and says “hello Christopher, (no one besides my friends and mom know that my full name is actually Christopher, which is kinda weird ngl) I have been bored recently, so I have decided to experiment with a loser like you (ouch man😢) and transport you to another world with 3 people of your choice and no restrictions to see what you do.” She proceeds to clap her hands and I wake up with my four friends in clearing next to a forest and next to what looks like an old medieval looking town.
Author here again this is my first time writing something and I know this is just a tiny bit but I honestly want feedback and just to do the rest of the friends personality’s and stats on a clean chapter so this isn’t to long. Peace, love, FluffDZ

I’m 29(f), in the uk.
Now, firstly I have a history of men being unkind, abusive and very frustrating towards me - so anyone here I am talking about good men, not those of an abusive nature, this does not apply to them.
Perhaps because I am a counsellor, I see this more and more regular both within the Muslim and non Muslims communities and mainly within my age range and younger. I am seeing more and more good men in both marriages/relationship and single suffering with depression (without even realising) for not being able to be the providers or good enough providers for their families and for getting prepared for having families.
Needless to say, that in todays society (especially the uk) that yes this new age feminism is playing a part of this, I am well aware. Along with the financial stresses of everything being inflated.
But sisters! We are just a much a test (just by nature for a man) as they are to us! Just like us, they just want peace, not to come home to a war zone! He does not want to hurt/upset you, anymore then you want to hurt or upset him (when he’s not trying you that is, lol)
Please, please I beg u sisters stop this nonsense and understand - MEN ARE HUMAN BEING FIRST BEFORE MEN AND HAVE WITH EMOTIONS TOO! Despite the contrary of what “love” is deemed as today, the men or future spouse in your life sole purpose is not to make you happy! He has his own purposes in life other then to make solely u happy!
Could u imagine if the prophet Mohammed (pbuh) stayed at home, and did not go out there and spread the word of Islam, just doing the wimps of what his spouses wanted? No! Astifugallah, there would no Islam! And for that I think all us Muslim can agree, was a good thing! We would not know such beauty when done right.
So just like you are not the sole purpose to make him happy! BUT U DO HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF HIM JUST AS MUCH, IF NOT MORE, Ur job is to provide peace and comfort, not for everything to be a fight and screaming matches of disrespect!
If your spouse or future spouse is there making an effort and compromising and sacrificing everyday to go to work tired, do what u ask of him, helps out, HE LOVES YOU! HE IS DOING HIS ROLE AS A MAN TO THE BEST OF HIS ABILITY! The world is not an easy place to be in or part of as both male and female, but ladies we do have it a little bit more easy being female. (Depending on your situation).
And if your future spouse comes to you with stability and islam, looking to get married, materialistic things such as having a car, a house in this day and age is asking for the impossible even sometimes for married couples can’t seem to have that. This does not matter whether educated with mastephd or anything.
Stop being so harsh and understand a man is just one person, with duties and responsibilities before he met u. With his own dreams, or wants, his own purpose.
Perhaps he of good character will give u something far more better then a car, house such as emotional, mental stability and a beautiful life of deen, that will be rewarded in this life and next.
Allah tells us to marry a man who is fearing of Allah for a reason.
Marriage completes half your deen and Allah provided guidelines of marriage for a reason.
Sisters, whether you can accept it or not, u need ur spouse/future spouse and cannot do everything by yourself, u are one person! Without men, us women would not have these things that so many girls these days seem to demand (car and houses) who do u think build them to begin with, sisters?
Show respect, and kindness, for is that not one of the basics that the prophet (pbuh) taught us all regardless of gender? In fact he even showed it to those who abused him due to his religion!
Just because ur spouse is not perfect, do not think for a second they do not have feelings whether he voices them or not! He does the things he does because he loves u, and it is a very hard burden to carry, especially today, when it comes to money.
I feel very disappointed in my some of my fellow sisters to have to actually say this.
And men! Please stop this nonsense of COMPARING YOUR SPOUSES TO YOUR MOTHER OR BAD WOMEN OF SOCIETY!!!! This is Islamically incorrect on so many levels, and forbidden! Not to mention so disrespectful to both your mothers, that u love so much you put on a peddle stool of perfection, and to the woman in your life sacrificing everyday to keep you happy! It’s vulgar!
She is more than the “mother of your children, ur wife, future spouse u haven’t met yet, and is ALSO HUMAN BEING!” Men are often told that women are “emotional” this does not mean we do everything IN EMOTION! WE ALSO HAVE A BRAIN!!

Or a free pass to ignore whatever ur spouse is saying! Nor does it mean that we compete with ur mothers, ur sisters etc etc.

this is also not correct in Islam. A man is supposed to share his feeling with his spouse (which is opposite to societal standards, but this does not matter!) As u are told us women are emotional - how do you think we understand ur communication? Threw emotions! So open up to ur spouses, future spouse and communicate effectively - even in arguments, rather then go for the best way to “hurt her or change her into ur mother” - set boundaries AND SPEAK UP WITH RESPECT! Do not hold it in, and be so deafist and address and solve the issues u may be having! Be observant! like I said, she is human too with a different level of understanding of things!
It’s not a free pass to become bitter and hateful, or impose all new age societal propaganda on to all women and sisters (for those looking to get married).
If you wish to see a change u must be that change especially for the next generation! Lead by example, as YOU GUYS ARE MENT TO BE THE HEAD OF UR HOUSE! not a tyrant, (ur spouse does not belong to u, but Allah, she is simply a gift to u, like u are to her)
And set those boundaries within reason, and if she is giving u what u have asked for, do not then belittle her for trying to please u, by comparing her to ur mother!
Islam is peace, it’s about respect, it’s about kindness and mercy towards others. These are very basic things that can get lost in marriage, but also in the new set of morals which do not in reality have any weight unless u give them weight to their meaning!
So stop sisters giving them weight!!!! They mean nothing!
Men don’t give up fighting for your spouses and your families, nor loose hope! Allah sees ur effort of ur working tirelessly for ur family or future family, and remember to always show kindness, mercy and speak out. Lead by example.
Speak out, open up, and do not become bitter and hateful.
And women, keep ur heart clean of anything but Islam, keep trying and keep making an effort with ur spouse! Remember to understand he DOES have emotions, and to LISTEN to ur husbands! All we have to tolerate with men Allah see ur efforts and inshallah will reward u for this. But don’t be difficult! Be respectful.
For those of you married, go home and give your spouses a hug and thank them for their tireless efforts - ESPECIALLY IF U ARE CURRENTLY ARGUING. Appreciate each other and may Allah reward u and grant u many years of happy successful marriage. Remember mercy and kindness always!
And for those of you looking to get married - SISTERS STOP the unrealistic expectations from future prospects, work on your self and your deen, if u expect this, u are not ready for marriage, I’m sorry but u are not.
And men - stop with the bitterness and hatred and immaturity, about women, stop comparing. Make the change u wanna see, lead by example and Insha’allah allah will give u a spouse who is ur equal, and ALWAYS ALWAYS WORK ON YOURSELF!
