2024.05.23 07:13 AnyIncident9852 r/CanadaHousing2 discusses India's colonization of Canada

A sub dedicated to discussing the Canadian housing crisis discusses an article titled, "Prince Edward Island to Indian Immigrants: "We're full.''"
I just turned on cbc and there was an Indian dance being played for 10 minutes. Not sure how that is Canadian content. Pathetic how quickly this country js turning to shit. (+66)
CBC is a lost cause, like BBC in the UK. I stopped listening when every time I turned on CBC Radio 1 the vast majority of current affairs and general interest topics had to have a minorities slant, fucking tiresome woke BS. (+15)
Most of these fake students are from India, but from ONE PLACE in India, the same village.. Punjab India. We see cities completely destroyed & turned into India. Indians hire their own, rent to their own and will only VOTE for their own. You see white people , asian people voting for who they like the most. That's why Jagoff is laughing. Wait until all these Indians are able to vote, it will be the destruction of Canada. We need mass deportation & to cancel all these fake PR's. (+14)
Does no one think it is racist that India a country that doesn’t even make up 20% of the worlds population gets more than 40% of all Canadian student visas, more than 30% of all PR’s worldwide. Who is influencing our government to prioritize Indians over the rest of the world. We’re Canada the entire world wants to come here. Why do Indians get priority over the rest of the world? At what point do we start recognizing we’ve brought in so many Punjabis it may affect demographics going forward. I’m all for diversity but there’s nothing diverse about this (+1.1k)
An invasion. Very well thought of invasion (+29)
The crazy part is that it's more directly demogracide. Birth rates are collapsing because of housing costs and Trudeau's plan is to increase housing costs by bringing in replacements. I was with my mom and pointed to some student visa folk and told her that's her grandchildren. (+4)
Exactly. It’s colonization. Except the type that is apparently acceptable because they’re not white. (+213)
Deportations need to happen. No fast tracks to PR. Deportations.
“Once they get in HR you’re fucked” - yupppp.. friend of mine (who is Canadian born Filipino) his boss just retired in April and the new manager is an Indian dude and he’s bringing in just random Indian temps “for backup” even though they aren’t busy. My theory is he’s gonna fire all the non Indians for bullshit reasons and make the temp Indian guys permanent. I told him don’t wait, send out your resume. Trying to get him a job at my place as well. (+38)
Because they prioritized india Canada would likely introduce a disgusting caste system and predictably the “old stock Canadians” will be at the absolute bottom of the totem pole
Anne of Green Gables is gonna be a different color very soon (+110)
I dont care if it sounds racist. The whole country is full and im tired of being told its racist to say so. (+39)
As an American in California, I feel the same way. We have so many Indians in this state that it's becoming increasingly less and less diverse and more and more Indian. I have no problem with people wanting to have a better life but something needs to be done with how many immigrants are coming into the US and Canada. (+5)
There are far too many of them and they are destroying the cultural fabric of this country. I don't live in this country to be surrounded by Indian culture and people. If I wanted that I would've moved to India.
Dated an Indian girl from Toronto. She was the most entitled spoiled brat and lowkey racist. Beautiful but really a terrible a person. Her family wasn’t better
Sad head bobble
I'm a US citizen, born in the US, and a White person, although that shouldn't matter (but does). My wife and I both have master's degrees, mine in a STEM field and hers in environmental policy. We have been considering places to move for the last few years, as we want to raise our child somewhere safer than the US. Canada was one of our first options, but based on what I've been reading lately, it seems like we would have a much harder time emigrating than if we were Indians with no skills, degrees, or functional English. It's really too bad. And I'm in an area of the US with thousands of H1B Indian immigrants, many who are making much more than me working at the big tech companies and driving the housing market to insane prices, so I literally get it coming and going. Pretty infuriating, although of course I'm the racist asshole for pointing it out according to some people...

🔗Large Commercial Electric High Velocity Floor Fan

https://preview.redd.it/7u00sw6xv32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ea413241e00753a6ca244b9a0cd90fc3e7fd3de
As a fitness enthusiast, I've always found it challenging to maintain my optimal workout temperature, especially during intense sessions. However, the Commercial Electric 20-inch 3-Speed High Velocity Floor Fan has taken that challenge out of the equation. Its adjustable tilt frame allows me to direct the airflow precisely where I need it, providing cooling relief during my most demanding workout routines.
One standout feature is its quiet operation across all three speeds. Even at its highest velocity, the fan doesn't interfere with my music or create obnoxious noise that could disrupt others. The rotary switch also makes controlling airflow effortless.
However, despite its sturdy rail-style legs, I've noticed that the fan tends to vibrate slightly at certain tilt angles. While not a deal-breaker, it sometimes requires adjusting the angle for optimal stability.
All in all, this Commercial Electric High Velocity Floor Fan has made a significant difference in my workout environment. Its silent operation and customizable airflow are features I would highly recommend to others seeking a reliable cooling solution.

🔗Tornado Industrial Wall Mount Fan with 3 Speed Control

https://preview.redd.it/uk18mjixv32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bec55c2173e84f0de575b600968ab128dcfd3fd1
I recently purchased the Tornado 18'' High Velocity Wall Fan, and I am thrilled with its performance. This bad boy has been a real lifesaver in my workshop, providing a constant breeze that keeps me cool even during the hottest summer days.
The build quality is top-notch, with a durable aluminum and powder-coated steel construction that looks like it could take a beating and keep on ticking. The motor is also a highlight, being a TEAO ball bearing model that runs quietly and efficiently.
One of my favorite features is the 180-degree vertical tilt, which lets me direct the airflow exactly where I need it. Assembly was a breeze too, thanks to the new frustration-free packaging and easy-to-follow instructions.
However, there is one downside - the fan can be a bit noisy on the highest setting. But as long as I keep it on low or medium, it's not too bad at all.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Tornado 18'' High Velocity Wall Fan to anyone looking for a powerful, reliable, and quiet solution to staying cool in their workshop or garage.

🔗Simple Deluxe Quiet Fan for Home and Commercial Use

https://preview.redd.it/5x67b4zxv32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8a7e859058df4ac5a91827ebc97f465e3e07dbb
My Simple Deluxe 20 inch industrial floor fan has been a perfect addition to my living room. Its metal frame makes it a sturdy choice for busy spaces like workshops or garages.
The 3-speed rotary switches provide flexibility in terms of airflow, while the permanently lubricated motor ensures durability. However, the noise level can be higher than expected on high speed, which may not be ideal for some users.
Overall, it's a well-made fan that provides strong airflow and is easy to set up and clean.

🔗Heavy-Duty 20-Inch Industrial Fan for Cooling & Ventilation

https://preview.redd.it/1dmdhg9yv32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b87affddde81e4285d532b35d440f126e9d7a9c8
I recently got my hands on the AmazonCommercial HVF20-SP Industrial Fan, a 20-inch beast that's perfect for keeping my workshop cool and comfortable. The first thing that struck me about this fan was its solid metal construction, which gives it a reassuring heft and durability.
Its 3 aluminum blades are powerful enough to circulate air in my large garage, making it much more pleasant to work in during hot summer days. The pivoting function is also a game-changer, allowing me to direct the fan's airflow exactly where I need it.
Assembling the fan was a breeze - no tools required! And the rotary knob switch makes changing speeds super easy. However, one drawback I noticed was the motor's high pitch noise at the highest speed setting.
Overall, the AmazonCommercial HVF20-SP Industrial Fan has been a game-changer in keeping my workshop cool and comfortable. Its durability, ease of assembly, and customizable airflow make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to cool down large indoor spaces.

🔗Energy-efficient 96" Big Air Industrial Ceiling Fan

https://preview.redd.it/kng35olyv32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be933182ce27ea53b086d8392e9e8f78a4ea709b
The Big Air Industrial Ceiling Fan is my go-to for those sweltering summer days. I installed it in my garage, and it's made such a difference. The large blades circulate the air so efficiently that even on the hottest days, it feels like a nice breeze instead of a stuffy, stifling heat. And don't worry about the noise level - this fan is as quiet as a whisper.
The modern design blends seamlessly in any space, whether it's a rustic barn or a sophisticated office. Plus, the energy-efficient DC motor is a game-changer for cutting down on operating costs. I can't believe how much I've saved on electricity since switching to this fan!
However, one issue I've encountered is the installation process. It took me a bit longer than expected to set it up. But once it was up and running, it was definitely worth the effort. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the Big Air Industrial Ceiling Fan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

🔗Industrial White Finish 56 in. Ceiling Fan

https://preview.redd.it/hc5hp07zv32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b0f072b6228f23f07459ae9f822d9df2224ba37
I can't tell you how much I love the Westinghouse 56 in. Industrial White Finish Ceiling Fan. This beauty has become the centerpiece of my living room, and it's not just because of its sleek look.
First off, this fan was incredibly easy to install. The down rod came with it, so setup was a breeze - no pun intended. I have this installed in a space that's about 400 square feet, and it manages to keep the air moving comfortably.
The fan's motor delivers powerful air movement, but it does so quietly. It's kind of like having your own personal breeze generator going on overhead without any distracting noise. And speaking of the motor, it's a high-quality one from Westinghouse, known for their reliability and performance.
One feature I didn't expect to appreciate as much as I do is the five-speed wall control. It offers easy operation and gives me incredible control over how much or how little airflow I want at any given time. No more fumbling with the pull chains!
As much as I love this fan, there are a couple of things I wish could be different. The fan does require at least 10 feet of clearance above the floor, which can limit where you place it. Additionally, some users may find the large speed control box a bit bulky looking.
All in all, the Westinghouse 56 in. Industrial White Finish Ceiling Fan has been a great addition to my home. It's stylish, effective, and easy to control - a winning combination in my book!

Buyer's Guide

When shopping for commercial electric fans, several key features should be considered. Firstly, consider the type of fan you require. There are different kinds such as pedestal fans, desk fans, and wall-mounted fans. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages, so it’s important to choose one that suits your specific needs best

https://preview.redd.it/d31e0xgzv32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6e05cd266cf5c46ccbd2d5db7ffe1da2181e174

Size and Power

Size and power are crucial when choosing a commercial electric fan. The size needs to be appropriate for the space where the fan will be used. As for power, you'll want a fan that can deliver enough airflow to keep your area cool and comfortable. Generally speaking, the higher the airflow rate, the more cooling power the fan will have. However, keep in mind that more powerful fans may also consume more energy and be noisier than others.

Noise Levels

Noise levels can greatly impact your comfort and productivity. If you're sensitive to noise, ensure you opt for a quieter model. In addition, consider models with adjustable fan speeds. These can help achieve an ideal balance between airflow and noise control.

Additional Features

Some commercial electric fans also come with additional features such as timer settings, multiple speed options, and remote control. These can enhance user experience and increase the versatility of the fan. However, such features might also increase the price, so decide on what's essential for your situation.

Brand Reputation and Durability

Lastly, look for reputable brands known for producing durable and reliable devices. These brands often offer longer warranties and customer support, which can be crucial if something goes wrong with your fan.

https://preview.redd.it/e4vb5nl0w32d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5f989c8272b6267659d4224489e0e779e4d749c

How do I choose the right commercial electric fan?

What is the difference between a ceiling fan and a standalone fan?

  1. Ceiling fans are mounted on the ceiling and circulate air throughout the entire room.
  2. Standalone fans are placed on the floor or a table and help cool specific areas or people.
  3. Ceiling fans tend to be more expensive and take more time and effort to install, while standalone fans are generally more affordable and portable.

How much energy do commercial electric fans use?

The energy usage of commercial electric fans can vary depending on the model, speed, and usage time. Generally, they consume less energy than air conditioning units, making them a cost-effective and eco-friendly cooling solution.

Are commercial electric fans noisy?

Technical Analysis
Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. (NYSE: BNED) exhibited a sharp increase in its stock price on May 22, 2024, closing at $1.13, up by 109.22% from the previous trading day. This surge followed significant volatility, driving a substantial volume of 292.34 million shares, far exceeding its average volume of 6.70 million shares. The RSI14 stands at 81, indicating heavily overbought conditions.
The stock's recent breakout above its 50-day moving average of $0.44 signifies a strong uptrend. However, its 200-day moving average of $0.95 suggests a long-term bearish trend still needs to be reversed. The MACD (3-month) at -0.036284 also points to lingering bearish momentum, even as short-term signals are highly bullish.
Significant price levels to watch include the intraday low of $0.7212 and high of $1.35. The next trading day may see the stock oscillating within this range, given no predefined resistance and a support level at $0.98. The high Average True Range (ATR) of 15.06 suggests continued volatility.
Fundamental Analysis
Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. carries a market capitalization of $60.07 million. Financial metrics indicate underlying weaknesses, with a negative EPS of -$1.46 and a Price to Earnings (PE) ratio of -0.77, reflecting unprofitability. However, the earnings announcement scheduled for July 29, 2024, may offer deeper insights into any potential turnaround strategies or improvements.
The company has low intrinsic value based on earnings, though current price targets offered by analysts range from $0.75 to $4, with a consensus target of $2.38. This suggests an expected substantial upside potential should the company address its current challenges effectively.
A recent news report highlighted a significant rally in BNED's stock, driven by speculative interest and high trading volume. This aligns with the bullish sentiment from technical indicators, but fundamental weaknesses temper long-term prospects.
Predictions & Intrinsic Value
For the next trading day, BNED is likely to remain volatile. Given the overbought RSI and significant recent price increase, a minor pullback or consolidation might occur within the $0.98 to $1.35 range. In terms of weekly performance, if current momentum continues, BNED could retain its upward trajectory, potentially testing higher price levels near its year high of $2.26.
The intrinsic value of the stock seems constrained by the company’s current financial condition, with ongoing losses and negative EPS exerting downward pressure in the long term. To realize intrinsic value, there must be a substantial improvement in operational performance and profitability.
Long-term Investment Potential
Longer-term investment prospects are cautious, given the firm's profitability issues and high volatility. Potential investors will need to closely monitor upcoming earnings and strategic updates for positive momentum but should be prepared for continued volatility and risk.
Overall Evaluation

2024.05.23 01:41 sickonmyface BNED - Time to embrace the poison and screw the shorts

Right BNED stock enthusiasts, listen up. I don't have time for bullshit memes or pictures so all I got is plain boring words for you to read. I know, I know, your reading comprehension is on par with your Uncle Mick after 18 pints of Guinness who insists on eating wallpaper paste when he gets hungry.
Let's have a little talk about BNED. First a little basic overview for people who think this is a stock play on a brick and mortar book store....
Barnes & Noble Education Inc Company Overview
Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. (BNED), founded in 1965, operates over 1,400 physical and virtual bookstores serving more than six million U.S. students. It sells and rents textbooks and general merchandise and provides digital solutions like First Day programs to enhance educational affordability.
First, the basics:
Marketcap: 60 million
Shares outstanding: 53 million
Revenue: 1.6 Billion
Debt: 535 million
Institutional holdings: Roughly 36%
(More on that later)
Insiders: 27%
Free float: roughly 20 million
Short Interest: Roughly 7% via fintel
WAIT A MINUTE, 7% SHORT INTEREST SICKONMYFACE....THIS IS PALTRY GO SUCK IT
Hold up. Take a minute. Let me give you a little lesson on reported short interest and why it's not always the best indicator of how heavily a stock is being shorted.
There's a few ways in which a short can pummel a stock without it reflecting in the short interest data, see below:
  1. Using Put Options: By purchasing put options, an investor can benefit from a decline in the stock price without borrowing shares to short. This activity would not be captured in short interest data, as options trading is recorded separately.
  2. Inversely Correlated ETFs: Investing in inverse exchange-traded funds (ETFs) allows an investor to profit from the decline of a stock or index. These transactions do not directly involve shorting the individual stock and hence do not appear in short interest data.
  3. Synthetic Short Positions: These can be created through various options strategies such as a synthetic short, which involves buying put options and selling call options at the same strike price and expiration date. This creates a position that behaves like a short sale but is not counted as such in short interest statistics.
  4. Total Return Swaps (TRS): Through these derivatives, an investor can gain exposure to the negative performance of a stock. The counterparty holds the stock and the short position is not reflected in the short interest of the underlying security.
  5. Offshore and other transactions: Some short positions can be executed through offshore entities or other transactions, which might not be immediately reflected in domestic short interest data.
So the Short interest figure that loves to be touted around here as the 'be all end all' indicator isn't always the most accurate.
BNED has gone through a bit of a tough time in 2023 posting a net loss of around 80 million and high level of debt as above. But do you know how I know something fuckey is going on and this stock is being shorted, most likely on the secondary markets?
Because it is a huge revenue generating company, around 1.5 billion last year and it's assets are higher than it's liabilities. There's been talk of a possibility of a going concern but this company is far from going bankrupt especially considering the recent news of activist investors getting in on the act and buying up a 9.9% stake and offering a cash injection to the company. There is serious interest in this company. It traded for 18 cents a share only last week with a marketcap of 12 million.
Does that sound right to you? Well, does it? Of course it doesn't. Even Uncle Mick could grasp that concept the paste eating freak.
It's being shorted to shit. Just check the short sale volume over at Fintel. Likely because a hostile takeover was about to happen.
The chads over at BNED saw the stock price tank and adopted this thing called a poison pill.
'A poison pill is designed to discourage a major acquisition of shares and a company's hostile takeover by an individual or entity'.
The Board likely saw what was happening with the stock tanking and using their pure Alpha Chad energy adopted the poison pill in the form of a short term stockholders rights plan. This would allow, in the event of a 3rd party trying to acquire 10% or more of the company, prior shareholders to exercise a right to buy a new series of preferred shares diluting the float to avoid a takeover. But allowing shareholders to retain the same value of their stake.
So they just screwed anyone wanting to do a hostile takeover. Genius eh.
One point to the chads and an active fuck you to the shorts.
Second of all, they are likely to get a serious cash injection of 75 million by June 2024 through a previous rights offering to existing shareholders on May 14th where if authorised in June, gives those holders the right to exercise 17 shares for every right they hold - which they got for every common stock held on the record date.
Guess what happens if you're short when these rights get exercised. You have to suddenly find 17 shares for every single share you are short.
A second kick in the ball bag for the shorts.
Thats some very big incentives to start covering your short positions.
With all this interest, potential cash infusion and active talks with an investing group that's just taken a nearly 10% stake in the company, was it ever worth 18 cents a share? Is it worth more than 1.13 a share?
Now onto my favourite topic of conversation. Options. I'll keep this brief because I need to pretend I have a life for your validation and approval. Wait I said that bit out loud. Fuck it.
Open Interest at the 0.5 strike which is now in the money is insane. Some poor fucker (the Market Maker) has to hedge over 30k contracts expiring not this week but in June (extra theta YUM) in fact the entire options chain is stacked, take a look at $2 strikes. There's no weeklies on this thing which is an extra pressure point for both shorts and Market Makers.
What we have here is a fucking perfect storm ladies and gents. Shorts can no longer fuck around to crush the price otherwise they are on the hook for 17x the number of shares they are short, there can't be a hostile takeover so suppressing the price for that reason is out of the question and the damn options chain is about to squart everywhere. There's even an argument the company is UNDERVALUED right now.
So whats it to be. Rocket ship or Wendy's. See you next time.
TLDR: Buy calls and shares. Don't be a bitch. Hug your mother and give her a call.

2024.05.23 01:35 BilluTheBarber My experience as a seller and why I am leaving

This is my third attempt as Reddit didn’t save the last 2 drafts go down to end for TLDR.
A little about me: I discovered this app in end of 2022 and was intrigued by the concept of live selling as that concept was foreign to me and it was my first time seeing it. I was a little into Pokémon cards but was never a huge collector but whatnot changed that for me. In a span of 2 months I had a massive inventory of stuff cards, slabs , packs you name it I had it. I decided to apply and become a seller. It took about a month and a half and I get the email saying that I’ve finally have been approved to become a seller. And at minimum was streaming five days a week and sometimes I would stream twice a day. for most of this, I don’t know how many people can relate but this will mostly be speaking about my experience in the Pokémon community on Whatnot.
That was to give context now here are my issues with the app. Lack of support for small streamers, not having the proper team to grow, fees, gray area rules, scammers and whatnots shady stuff.
All right, so I’m gonna start off with the one I think is most important there isn’t much support for small streamers on this app I mean honestly I would hate to be a small streamer nowadays cause even with the following I have now it’s feels impossible to grow even more without shoveling out thousands of dollars. The only true ways I see to grow in this app is either you lose money per sale you give away a ton of stuff or you pay what not a lot of money to hopefully grow. When I was first growing it wasn’t that bad but I still gave away a lot of stuff and idiotically. I paid a lot of money I would save as a small stream I was paying $500 a month through the promote feature, thinking that one day all of this will pay back. I am thankful for the community, but it didn’t return the amount of money I put I would say at least thousand in the promote feature before I realize that giving away stuff was cheaper than using the promote feature and even that was still tons of stuff compared to these bigger streamers. My philosophy always was I don’t want to rip off the buyer. I wouldn’t charge a buyer more than what I would pay for the product if I think it was fair then I would charge it but if I didn’t think it was fair, I wouldn’t sell it that price and I feel like most were not streamers are just trying to get the most amount of money possible per stream. I’m not saying all of them, but most of them, which is OK but at the cost of ripping off their buyers, which is not OK.
I was very vocal about how I don’t think that what not is ready to grow and how much money they were putting in advertising to get more sellers and growing their selling team by constantly having new sellers I remember in my first seller interview there’s maybe like 20 people and then for my buddies I hear there’s some over 100 people in their little seller meetings When they were starting. One of my main issues with this is that the support has gotten really terrible and the support team was one of the things I used to praise how fast and good responses I would get from the support team and now I’ll be lucky to get a reply at all and if I do, it’s usually just a copy and paste message. They also seemed to add features that most people don’t ask for and it seems like they’re putting money in all the wrong parts of the app especially the advertising. I have Whatnot downloaded on all my smart devices and I still get one not ads constantly on YouTube, which is a very annoying thing knowing that the fees I pay is going towards these ads I also wouldn’t be surprised if they are just letting anybody sell on here now and as quickly as possible to grow their numbers for probably more VC investing or private investing whatever type investing they get. I could honestly relate my selling experience on here as my first time trying to sell it at a flea market you have to compete and drop your prices for every customer cause that’s what your competition is gonna do and those new buyers they don’t care about your personality or who you are they just want the cheapest prices as possible or they go to next person and they want as many things as free as possible. they advertise on their ads like oh wow I scored 15 cards with 50 bucks on what not or I got this many things on whatnot for x amount of money.talking about the things they got they talk about the quantity not the quality and not the things that they say in the discord, they care more the most about which is the community on Whatnot not the prices. They’re shooting a sellers in the foot because these new buyers at see these ads only want these extremely unrealistic deals, which only small sellers are providing because they need to compete with other small new sellers.
I’ll try to keep this next one short, I didn’t really look at the rules much on Whatnot when I had signed up but after seeing some talk on the discord, I saw how much area there is in the rules. The support will tell you that it’s up to interpretation and what they think at the moment if something is breaking the rules and I only that the 2.9% fee is a variable fee that they charge per credit card transaction so sometimes it’d be more and very rarely would be less and they would open display for obvious reasons. This could lead to many undeserving bans just cause how the what not support is feeling that day.
This last one it’s a big deal but to me, it’s not that big of a deal because buyers know who they’re buying from, and they should be able to tell scams pretty easily, but the amount of scammers on Whatnot is unreal i’m mostly see them in the fashion category on Reddit but the amount of scammers on the Pokémon section it’s unreal fake ceilings, fake floors rigging pole boxes lying about prices it’s everywhere and when buyers see this on Reddit, everybody says oh it’s not all the buyers these new buyers on Whatnot that just downloaded don’t know that they see themselves get scammed once and think of the whole app as a scam and if you tell anybody you’re a whatnot streamer, you instantly lose credibility at some card shows.
And the last one, the small amount of shady stuff regarding this app Blake breaks apparently one of the lead members of the Whatnot staff Craig used to be best buddies with Blake and that could explain why how he could stay on this app for so long when he was exposed as a scammer and then finally get removed but still have his account finally enough if you look it up on Whatnot and all the other stuff that’s under the covers that we don’t openly know about and we’re gonna find out about in the future.
My TLDR: I wish this app was easier to grow on without spending massive amount of money or losing a massive amount of money. I wish that the support team was either better or larger and they had more of an infrastructure to grow because they’re adding on some streamers. I wish they were more clear about a lot of their things on this app. I wish that they would enforce scammers more strictly I wish they would keep bigger, streamers accountable. I know that’s where they make their money. That is a must to keep the credibility of this app, I will finally be deleting this app as cash out all the money I have on here got received all the packages I bought from people and moving on to my next selling journey.

Some books I bought from Barnes and nobles online
I'm trying to get into reading this summer and I bought some books online from Barnes & Noble, I have four more coming on the May 27th, what do you think about my choices, sorry if it's a bit blurry but here's what I got,
1 The Federalist papers by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay. 2. Common sense and other works by Thomas Paine. 3. The price of salt or Carol by Patricia Highsmith. 4 The art of war by Sun Tzu. 5. The wealth of Nations by Aaron Smith l. 6. Animal farm by George Orwell. 7. Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence.
If there are any users in the Anaheim area, what are some pretty good local bookstores that have a diverse selection of books that you recommend.

2024.05.23 00:55 sickonmyface BNED - Time to embrace the poison and screw the shorts

Right squeezers, listen up. I don't have time for bullshit memes or pictures so all I got is plain boring words for you to read.I know, I know, your reading comprehension is on par with your Uncle Mick after 18 pints of Guinness who insists on eating wallpaper paste when he gets hungry.
Let's have a little talk about BNED. First a little basic overview for people who think this is a stock play on a brick and mortar book store....
Barnes & Noble Education Inc Company Overview
Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. (BNED), founded in 1965, operates over 1,400 physical and virtual bookstores serving more than six million U.S. students. It sells and rents textbooks and general merchandise and provides digital solutions like First Day programs to enhance educational affordability.
First, the basics:
Marketcap: 60 million
Shares outstanding: 53 million
Revenue: 1.6 Billion
Debt: 535 million
Institutional holdings: Roughly 36%
(More on that later)
Insiders: 27%
Free float: roughly 20 million
Short Interest: Roughly 7% via fintel
WAIT A MINUTE, 7% SHORT INTEREST SICKONMYFACE....THIS IS A SHORT SQUEEZE SUB GO SUCK IT
Fuck it.

ZT 303 Tiger Stripe
This is a knife I bought a while ago. I haven't used it much as its not legal to carry where I live. The condition of the knife is a solid B+. There is a little bit of wear of the tiger stripe but it only really shows in certain angles ( I tried to capture it in the photo). The lockup is solid at around 20%. There is a bit of wear on the clip as well. The knife is a tank and would make a great user. This one is a bit hard to find so it would also make a great collection piece.

ZT 308 Tiger Stripe
This is another knife I bought when I was mostly looking into big bruiser knives. The knife is in great condition. I never carried it but I did hit the tip once while I was flipping it. The tip has a minuscule bit of wear (Only visible if you're looking at it from a few inches away). Besides the tip the knife is in perfect condition with about a 40% lockup.
SV: 250
---
Strider SNG PD#1(Analogous to Cruwear)
This one is definitely a user. It has been sharpened by the previous owner but not well. The tip is a bit rounded but otherwise its not bad. This one has wear all around the knife (Especially on the pivot coating). There is also a small chip on the aluminum and the butt of the handle. This is the smoothest strider I have handled and is solid in the lockup at around 45%. The centering leans a hair to the showside but is not very noticeable. I stupidly purchased this at a high markup of 850 when I was first starting in the knife game. I know thats insane to ask for this user so i'll drop it significantly but let me know if i'm still being unreasonable.
SV: 500
---
James Brand The Barnes
This is a piece that I really love the design of but I can't justify carrying such an expensive piece. I have not used or carried the knife at all but I did flip it a bunch. There is a tiny white speck on the show scale but otherwise the knife is solid. Blade is centered and lockup around 30%
SV: 400 SOLD
---
Cold Steel Hold Out 111
I bought 2 versions of this knife to try out. One serrated and one with a plain edge. Decided I prefer the plain edge. Knife is new out the box.
SV: 60
---
Tom Buck Mayo
This knife is a cool piece of knife history. This was a collaboration between Tom Mayo and Buck. The knife is buttery smooth with a nice hollow grind s30v blade. The blade leans a bit to the right but I have not attempted to remedy it. The knife is in good condition and has not been used by me. The previous owner stated that it was used a bit on some boxes. The lockup is about 20%. The detent is a bit on the lighter side.
SV: 175
---
Emerson Mini A100 (Black Blade)
Bought this straight fro the Emerson site. I love the design of the mini A100 but I need to cut down the collection so this has to go. The coating on the blade shows no wear besides a small speck on the spine. The thumb disk is a oversized green and gold color that I put onto the knife. The knife is centered and the lockup is about 25%. There are some small snail trails. Solid little tank of a knife.
SV: 200
---
Emerson Mini A100 Satin
Bought this one off swap. This one has some snail trails along the pivot and scales. The blade sits a hair towards the lockside and locks up at about 35%. It is sporting a stonewashed deep carry clip. The knife has been used for a couple boxes but otherwise the knife is in great shape.
SV: 180
---
Spyderco Manix Rex 45
Bought this one off swap a while back as well. I wanted to love the knife but I realize the manix is just not for me. I have not used the knife since receiving it. The blade is centered and lockup is solid. I have not used the knife since receiving it.
SV: 195 SOLD
---
Spyderco Native Chief Rex 45
This was also purchased off swap. Great knife but I can't carry it in my area without raising eyebrows. The lockup is solid and the blade is in great condition. The blade sits a hair to the right. I do not believe the knife was used at all.
SV: 165
---
Umnumzaan Shepard CC G10 Starburst Scale
Bought this straight from Shepard CC to put on my Umnumzaan but realized I prefer the weight of the titanium. Has not been used or installed.
SV: 100
---
ZT 308 Diamondwood Scale
Diamondwood Scale that I originally wanted for the 308 but since i'm selling the 308 i'm also selling this scale. The scale is in perfect condition. Was installed once but never carried or used.
SV: 70
---
Hogue Deka Magnacut with Original Goat Scales
This build was going to be my daily user but the blade stock was a little too thin for my liking. This knife is brand new and has not been used. I did change out the polymer scales for these Original Goat aluminum scales and backspacer. It is textured with a black coating. The knife is beautiful but just not for me. The centering is perfect and the lockup is solid. I spent around 250 on the knife including the scales and backspacer.
SV: 175
---
Native 5 This was purchased brand new from GP knives. It is the exclusive native 5 in rex 45 with white scales. The centering is good and the lockup is solid. I have not used or carried the knife at all.
SV: 110
---
Tidioute Cutlery Toe Nail Clipper
This was purchased off ebay a while back. I wanted to try out the knife but ii don't slipjoints are really for me. This knife comes with ebony wood handles. The knife a bit of side to side play (which happens often with these knives). The walk and talk is decent with a pull of around 7. The knife is centered and is a great looking knife.
SV: 150
---
GEC Bull Nose Trapper
Last up is this bull nose trapper with black micarta scales. This has been modified using super blue to darken the blade, pivot, and backspacer. The walk and talk is decent at around a 7 for the pull. The blade is a hair towards the left but it really isnt noticeable unless you're really looking. There is a tiny bit of side to side but otherwise it is a a solid knife that could be a great user. The knife deifnitley needs a bit of a sharpening.
SV: 135
---
Demko AD20.5 3v Textured Titanium
This is a knife I purchased when they first released. I thought it would be the perfect knife for me but I did not love it as much as I expected. The knife is in perfect condition and has not been used at all. It is perfectly centered and rock solid on the lockup.
SV: 325

I can only take Zelle, Venmo, Paypal F&F currently. If you call dibs and then try to negotiate the price I will move on to the next person. It's been a while since i have been on swap so let me know if anything is missing or if you have any questions. Thank you!

2024.05.23 00:04 Fly99c Steel pole barn permit

I’m planning on building a steel pole barn in the Wake County, NC and they require building permits for any buildings larger than 12’. Talking with the manufacturers, some will provide drawings but they don’t have structural drawings or anything like that. Does anyone have any experience with permit departments and these types of buildings? The county isn’t exactly open about what they require for this situation.

2024.05.22 23:26 inthzone A gift to my friend or keep it for myself?

Hi everyone (: Last weekend was my best friends wedding. It was so eventful and beautiful. on Sunday I got this really grand idea to write a short story about the weekend because that’s how much I personally enjoyed it. There was so much drama with one girl which I think made the perfect annoying character, my friend is an interesting person herself and does funny things - we had a great time together for a majority of the weekend despite her stress. I want to remember it so I did start writing it. I plan to write it the same way I would a book and I actually like the idea of it as a story rather than just a journal entry for myself.
Right now the outline is 30 pages so I figure the book will be pretty long. You can publish private books on Barnes and noble for a cheap price so I figure I’ll make myself a copy and her.
The thing is though, that this book is obviously way more about me than it is her. I mention drama I wonder if she’d care for. I have personal negative feelings like that I was really anxious about this weekend that I start with. It’s obviously more about me than her because i can only talk about my own Story. I’m trying to incorporate her feelings too but I don’t know them. Actually this project is really helping with my writing in that way !!
Ok - so my question is, should I even give her this book? I think it’s a sweet idea but idk !!! I feel I grew a lot from this wedding and something about this weekend reminded me that life is actually very enjoyable 😭 sounds dumb but seriously my character development ?? Damn good
So… thoughts??? Do I give her a copy or will it come across as selfish ? I talk a lot about what I did for her like running around the hotel but I say this to show not to brag that I was a good maid of honor. Whether I was good or not isn’t the point. They say if a story is in you it has to come out and I desperately want this out.
I have written a book before so it’s not unusual by the way.
Okay !! Thanks for any advice.
Long story short:
Does it seem narcissistic ssiric to give someone a book about my journey on their wedding weekend?

2024.05.22 22:51 nfulks1996 Stewart-Haas' Potential Downfall Feels Familiar

If the rumors we've all seen and read online are true, Stewart-Haas are in their final days of NASCAR competition as we know it.
The 2020-2021 parts freeze, the next-gen car, loss of major sponsors, and an ownership duo whose hearts belonged to other forms of motorsport all have played huge parts in contributing to their impending doom.
Not long ago if you were to tell me that a major Ford team was on life-support and either heading for a merger or for liquidation the obvious thought would've been Roush.
But Stewart-Haas' demise feels familiar.
A Ford powerhouse anchored by a handful of major sponsors loses all of them before effectively liquidating and merging off a once-mighty operation.
Stewart-Haas is just in the same position as Robert Yates Racing after 2006.
From the time Robert Yates bought the Ranier-Lundy #28 car in 1988 through 2005 Robert Yates Racing was the dominant Ford race team in NASCAR.
The 1999 series championship and championship close call's as well as three Daytona 500's and 58 wins existed on the team's resume. Names like Davey Allison, Dale Jarrett, Ernie Irvan, Ricky Rudd, and Elliott Sadler all won numerous times for Yates' two cars during this time.
NRF has covered the Yates teams turbulent 2006 campaign, so I won't dive much into it. Sadler bailed on them to drive for Everham partway through the year, Jarrett departed at the end of the season to drive for the newly minted Michael Waltrip Racing and those cheatin' Toyota's but also took his longtime sponsor UPS with him.
UPS' departure left Yates with only Mars to sponsor two full-time cars in what was the deepest field we have seen in the Cup Series in the 21st century.
What hurt the team most was a pair of questionable replacements for Sadler and Jarrett, a duo that from 2003-2005 each scored two wins for the team.
Yates called David Gilliland up from obscurity to finish out the 2006 campaign in the #38 car. Gilliland had scored the upset of the year with his Busch Series win at Kentucky, but was he really Cup Series ready?
Long story short, no. David Gilliland was not Cup Series ready in 2006. He would not finish higher than 15th in 14 races in 2006 but did win the pole in his Talladega debut.
For Jarrett's #88 Yates went back to a former driver for the team by calling 2025 Hall of Fame inductee Ricky Rudd up from his year-long sabbatical and back to the Cup Series.
Now, it's easy to criticize both hirings. An unproven then nobody and a veteran ready for retirement, but 2006-2007 silly season saw surprisingly slim pickings other than Mark Martin. All of the driver and team changes were planned and signed well in advance and Yates was behind the curve from the onset.
Once Ford nixed Yates place in the Mark Martin sweepstakes, their hands were effectively tied.
Yates marched on with Gilliland and Rudd into a new era of NASCAR in 2007.
Surprisingly, 2007 actually began well for the team. Gilliland sat on the pole for the 2007 Daytona with Rudd to the outside.
The greatest Daytona 500 in history began with Yates cars leading them to the green.
This would be just one of a handful of highlights for Yates' team this year. Gilliland had a top-5 at Talladega and another top-10 at Daytona, while Rudd got his lone top-10 of the year in the Coca-Cola 600.
The iron man Ricky Rudd also had to miss five races in the fall after breaking his shoulder at Auto Club. Rudd would fully retire after the season.
The worst blow of 2007 would come when M&M's and Mars announced their departure to sponsor Kyle Busch at Joe Gibbs Racing. Yates had no anchor sponsor left.
Yates would also give the #88 to Hendrick Motorsports and Dale Jr for 2008 and beyond, reviving the #28. Gilliland would stay in the #38 while the returning #28 would see Travis Kvapil return to the cup series after spending a year in the truck series for Roush.
Kvapil would surprisingly be a great hire for the #28 car. Four top-10's and 23rd in points is not great, but it's a large improvement over the previous year. Gilliland would score a career best second at Sonoma and would also improve to 27th in the points standings.
The issues with Yates in 2008 was no consistent sponsorship and therefore sponsorship dollars.
2009 would see major shakeups at Robert Yates Racing.
Gilliland was released after 2008, and Kvapil would be gone after Bristol in the spring.
In January yates merged with Hall of Fame Racing and began fielding the #96 for 2000 Cup Series Champion Bobby Labonte. Yates' other car would be the new #98 driving by Paul Menard with the almighty Menards sponsorship.
2009 would be the final nails in the coffin.
Labonte would only post one top-10, a fifth at Vegas, and would be released late in the year in favor of potential future driver Erik Darnell. Menard would not finish higher than 13th in any race.
After the season Robert Yates Racing was done as the team merged into Richard Petty Motorsports with Menard's #98 surviving one more year before RPM shed the last vestiges of Yates and went down to a two-car operation from four. Darnell and the #96 would not survive past Homestead in 2009.
Now before I move forward, I will say I know Stewart-Haas has been a four-car operation most of their tenure while Robert Yates Racing was a two-car team, however I want to highlight a handful of similarities between the downfall of Yates and the likely impending downfall of Stewart-Haas.
While I hope and pray Stewart-Haas will be around in 2025 my gut instincts are saying otherwise base off what I've seen happen previously.

2024.05.22 21:14 Luciferian_UK Cloud Up 2 OR Lanshan 2

Looking to upgrade to a tent lighter than my Vango Nevis 300 which comes in at nearly 3kg (tent 2.5kg + footprint 0.36kg); mainly for backpacking purposes.
I’ve been heavily set on getting the Cloud Up 2 which comes in at approx 1.8kg all in (footprint etc). The 20D version seems a very solid tent for the price and weight.
The Lanshan 2, on the other hand, keeps popping up as a viable alternative. It’s certainly lighter (approx 1.35kg incl. stakes, footprint etc), and I also use trekking poles. However condensation and seam sealing is definitely a reservation.
What are your experiences with these tents?

EDIT: Looks like Reddit-Chat has issues currently. New chat request are not accessible.
You found an old trade-thread by me? The "Have" and "Want" lists are probably not uptodate anymore then. Make sure you check the newest version.
Small Reminder: I rather don't want to trade with resellers, because the trade turns out to be profit-focused then. That said, even with normal traders, I would like to have fair valued trades. So, if your game was in a 3-games-bundle for 5€ (makes each game 1,66€), please don't ask me for a 1:1 trade, while my game is 5€+ on its own - because I can just buy the 3-games-bundle for 5€, too, then. There is nothing wrong in wanting to get rid of games you don't want to play (bundles come with good games, and sometimes with games you are not interested in), but then please consider needing to match the value of the game you put an eye on, based on current purchase prices. (Prices based on keyshops and still running bundles, and not full non-sale Steam prices). That said, make sure your game keys will work in EU. While I think mine should work globally (with a few exceptions) consider them primary being for EU (or NA at max).

2024.05.22 19:24 cryptobro21 first time at RMNP, young kids

We are staying in Estes Park June 1-5 (Saturday evening through Wednesday afternoon). We are coming from an elevation of only 1050'.
We have four kids (ages: 8yr, 6yr, 5yr, 9 months), and we are looking for any advice based on current weather, trail conditions, etc.
While in Estes Park, we are planning to do the Mustang Mountain Coaster and the Estes Park Aerial Tram. Beyond this, we figured we would check out restaurants and local stores in Estes Park. We will probably bring a couple fishing poles as well, but we aren't planning on doing anything real crazy when it comes to fishing.
If the Trail Ridge Road opens prior to our visit, we plan to drive it down and back with multiple stops on the way. We are thinking of doing this Monday, and if I understand correctly, we could arrive at the road entrance around 8am without a timed entry pass. We already purchased the 7-day vehicle pass.
We are really unsure on the specific hikes but to do but have read that Dream Lake may be good for young kids. My wife and I have boots but they're just basic hiking boots, not really snow-specific. I'll have our 9 month old on my back in a hiking backpack but our 3 older kids don't really have snow specific boots. Most of the hiking we have done with them are either Chacos or just tennis shoes. Would anyone suggest other shoe options for them? I'm happy to buy 3 pairs of something from Amazon if it's not crazy priced but not sure what would be a good idea. Or would it be better to rent something at Estes park for them? Our experience with them is that they are happy to hike a couple miles if they are comfortable, specifically when it comes to their feet/jackets. But RMNP is new to us.
Thanks
