I took a look at my previous “essentials” board and realized I could slim it down further. Took a pedal train nano I had lying around, and along with some elbow grease and a couple of floor protectors, I managed to get a working board that nails all my americana/pop rock/function band sounds without me getting hung up on tap tempos and drive flavors

BPC Tone Bender MKII: Fantastic tone bender with some nice NOS diodes. Isn’t too cranky when it comes to temperature, and the battery lasts forever. Recommended for anyone who likes the 70s fuzz with a little more fidelity
D’addario tuner: Quick tuner with a buffer and a countdown. Everything you need and nothing you don’t.
Supro Boost. This one is a newcomer for me, and I got it in a trade deal. Was expecting a very clean boost, but was pleasantly surprised at how well the pedal enhances the amp sound and makes the guitar pop in the mix. Can easily push an edge of breakup amp into overdrive, and has a ton of headroom. The Expression input seems interesting for steel players.
Strymon Deco v2. I’ve raved about the Deco plenty of times, but I’ve actually gotten some new uses after slimming the board down. This is now my main preamp/overdrive sound, and the cassette mode makes getting any amp to the sweet spot so easy. I never use the volume knob on my guitar, but rely heavily on touch for getting differing sounds, and the compression in the cassette makes this a breeze. The slap and chorus are great, and I love the slow flange sounds you can get. This pedal single-handedly saved me from getting a benson preamp, Greer lightspeed, Boss CE-2, JHS milkman, and likely others. It is soo good that I no longer fear getting a hot rod deluxe as a backline amp.
Ibanez AD Mini: This one is slept on by most of the gear community, but I was honestly shocked at how well it does what it does. It’s a nice analog delay made in Japan, that specializes in a warm, short delay. Adds warmth to the sound without getting muddy, and is very easy to get to a “set and forget” sound. I never thought I would go for a delay without tap tempo, but this does the job for any echo that isn’t supposed to stand out in the mix.
Strymon Flint: A modern classic for good reasons. The plate mode is solid and the tremolo is pure gold. True stereo, fairly small footprint and a solid, reliable housing. The spring mode is the weakest of the modes, but I’ve heard band mates getting a nice spring sound too.

All in all I am incredibly happy with the performance and stability in these pedals. I still use my bigger board for most of my freelance work, but with this one being so solid and surprisingly flexible, I might have to try it out in more settings

We decided to divorce a few months ago. He’s (44M) asexual. I (43F) was over being untouched. I’m feeling overwhelmed with the new attention. My male friends are dropping like flies confessing their feelings. I had a brief whirlwind romance I was so not ready for. I started drinking again. I started dropping weight. I went on a weekend bender and when my friends couldn’t reach me they called the cops. Then, they called my ex.
Ex and I have been amicably working it out. We help each other and have reached a settlement we just need to go to the hearing. He had his mother come reach out to me. Did I need help? I did. I’ve lost a LOT of weight. I can’t eat. I can’t sleep. I’m a ball of nerves all of the time. So, he had his mom get him (he’s blind) and took us to lunch. He stayed and helped me find intensive outpatient therapy. He told me he loved me and walked me through writing apologies to my friends. He told me when I’m ready for a new partner he wants to meet them. He told me he still loved me. (Just not in-love, you know?) He told me it was hard watching me turn into The Machinist.
We are we transitioning to a beautiful friendship and I feel so lucky. We were together for 25 years. No children. Just lots of emotional support and mutual respect. I’m so glad he’s still in my life.
I’m a big video gamer and he got me a shadow box with the quote “it’s still you. Despite everything” with the character looking in the mirror. It was just so sweet! I’m looking forward to getting better. Having a Divorce Party with him. Moving on with life.

Hey Dodger fans. It's been a while since I've been active on this sub. I was most active on a different account that I lost access to a while back. Before tonight's game, I hope you don't mind me sharing the following story.
As a random guy growing up in the Midwest, people are often confused when they find out I am a Dodgers fan. I field a lot of questions and a lot of "bandwagon" jokes about it. For me, my responses are simple. I am a Dodgers fan because of my grandpa.
My grandpa was born in middle-of-nowhere USA in 1939. Growing up, he loved baseball, but did not have a favorite team because of his location. Well, shortly after graduating high school, he moved to Los Angeles to study aeronautical engineering. The timing must have been fate, because it was 1958, and the Dodgers had just moved to town. According to my grandpa, the stadium workers stopped taking tickets after the 6th inning. Being a broke college kid, he often would hang out around the stadium and watch about 3 innings of free baseball. It was here that his love for the Dodgers began.
My grandpa's time in LA was short. He moved home, got married, and had four kids. Only one of his kids seemed to inherit his Dodgers fandom, my dad. Only one of my dad's kids seemed to inherit the fandom, me. I never had the "best friend" relationship with my grandpa. My grandma died the year before I was born, and he lived a sort of hermit lifestyle after that. Our visits with him were sporadic and short, but we always were met with a smile, a story, and some sort of comment about the Dodgers.
My dad and I bonded through the Dodgers. We named our cat Piazza and cried when he went to the Marlins. We both made our first trip to Blue Heaven together in 2008. We saw Mannywood in full force and took pictures with the Think Blue sign in the back. We suffered through the divorce/bankruptcy era. We celebrated small victories. I'm glad for 2020. Even though my grandpa, my dad, and myself all watched the World Series in separate locations, I know we all felt the same after the final out.
My grandpa passed away this week, shortly after midnight on Monday morning. He was mostly alone, just as he liked it in his older years. In my mind, he is no longer alone though. He is with his wife in the Great Dodger in the Sky, watching the likes of Jackie, Drysdale, and Duke, hearing the dulcet tones of Vin.
As I said, my grandpa's time in LA was short. His love for the Dodgers was not. He gave it to my dad, who gave it to me. I will give it to my son. Hopefully he will give it to his. Dodger friends that made it this far in my long story, if the person who made you love the Dodgers is still around, tell them thanks. I'll be saying thanks tonight by sitting back and drinking a Miller Lite during first pitch.

I’m already over this season of RHONJ. How much Teresa side vs Melissa side can we handle?! How is Jenn Fessler having one pleasant convo with Teresa the main storyline. Everyone agrees this cast is not sustainable the cast needs a shake up) but there is still so much potential of stories we are not really following:
1) Marge - More about the dynamic with her stepchildren now than Jan has died. We have seen her film with one of them, the other stopped talking after the affair. What is the dynamic now? A divorced grieving stepmother that raised the children at one time storyline is interesting to me.
2) Dolores- Why isn’t Paulie divorced? Is it a Visa thing? There is a story there. Also, the Gabby and Paulies dynamic
3) Melissa - Joe Gorgas ongoing lawsuits that somehow NEVER make the show. We do not need anymore scripted family scenes with Melissa’s sisters
4) Danielle- The brother drama. I am fascinated by the development she stopped talking to the dad over the present return. I need more details. I need the dad and mom (and a reach but the bother) on camera sharing their side. This is the type of petty drama I watch HW for
5) Jennifer A- Check in with her family. She is probably my favorite family scene HW on this franchise, as there is a lot going on. How are her mom and dad? Their relationship? How is her brother and his wife? Her kids? Her and Bills dynamic ?
6) Jackie - a reach but I would love some 4th wall breaking and asking how she feels about the demotion to friend of. Is that the big shift in her friendships with the group? Did Marge, Melissa, and Rachel stop reaching out as much since the demotion? I sense weird energy with that.
7) Teresa- I actually am enjoying her home scenes, not much more I need. Her and Louie are naturally so chaotic just following them a story will appear
8) Jenn Fessler- Similar to Teresa I think the show is doing a good job following her just being herself
9) LESS FUDA SCENES, especially JOHN FUDA scenes

Quite honestly I love this concept and this would be perfect for me. Modern solution to modern problem. A caveat to this would be to do FM with someone you see potential to love or respect over long term.
It's so hard for a genuine man or women to find someone to be attracted to, respect and trust over their lifetime. Women were pushed into marriages where the guy had nothing but a govt job and guys married for sex and dowry and both never truly loved each other. If anything there was a lot of contempt that brewed over unreasonable expectations and dissatisfaction that bottled up and came out as trauma and anger.
If not for kids, financial dependence and taboo associated with divorces most marriage in older generation would have failed.

I've been changing my setup to be able to record. Usually I just go pedalboard into tube amp.
My new signal chain is: guitar (avri strat), into compressor (Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone), into drives (Wampler Tumnus, Solar Bender), into tube preamp (Victory Kraken V4) into cabinet simulator (Torpedo Cab M+).
This then goes into my mixing board. I have my reverbs and delay in the stereo FX loop of the mixer.

Andddd I stopped listening to the podcast around the Dr. Pie Laundry Guy but have stayed up to date with everything via this sub.
I have a huge interest in dating culture, human behavior and data similar to Ali and this little project of mine was really interesting once I got the framework of this list. I started this list once I found this sub in December 2023 and started re listening to the Patreon while working out (and lost 10 lbs ayeee) and writing down information in my notes app. I did my best to keep this list unbiased and just give facts and information that was said.
My own thoughts after making this list is that I'm very sad for Ali. I didn't realize the extent of her dating history. I think about my own dating history or even my friends who are in their 30's and dating and Ali's dating lore runs so deep. Is Ali unlucky with love? Did she pass on someone that could have been great for her? How has she had so many dates with little success in a long term partner or even going beyond 6-8 dates? Or is Skyline the person she has been waiting for? What's the pattern with all this dates/men? So many questions.
I truly do hope Ali finds her guy because I believe theres someone for everyone. Until then, I'll be hopping into this sub (cause y'all are too funny and give the best advice) and waiting for Ali to find Mr. Height.
