So, my relationship lasted 9 months, but ended two years ago. I was mentally depressed and drained, and my ex was truly wanted me to get better. He tried to, but i didn’t want to change at the time since i didn’t know how to change. I didn’t even know my self ( identity. When we were breaking up, he didn’t want to end it. he actually wanted to continue but wanted to focus on himself. I knew in my heart i had to fix myself as well. My dumbass asked him after “ Do you think we’ll get back together” and he said “ I don’t think so…” which broke my heart, but i was confused. 3 mins ago, he said he was happy with me and etc, but now he doesn’t see me? ok.
now, he was very contradicting with us in the future. I’m mad at myself because no one knows anything about the future. I don’t either, so it wasn’t fair to ask him. I kept pushing him and he got cold with me and i initiated, no contact after. i made sure to send him my last message saying i’ll move on.
Throughout my journey ( two years) i’ve learned to be more selfish and understanding. I’m ashamed on how i handled the situation. I don’t like how i responded; didn’t understand him. it wasn’t fair. Throughout the first year, i transferred to his school and we made direct eye contact all the time, but a year later, we haven’t. He probably moved on with someone else which I’m happy, but part of me is upset because of the hopes, but I’m glad i got the closure.
I do not hate him. i have so much love and care, but whatever happens, happens. i’m open to whatever, but only for the right reasons.

I F(22) got married at 20 to my abusive ex- husband. I had no idea at the time, I was from a nice city, nice school. I had been In relationships but nothing too serious. Until I met my ex husband. The weeks leading up to the marriage: he forgot my birthday, he shook me in the car for giving wrong directions( had never gotten physical YET) I still married him. Looking back at the photos I looked absolutely miserable. I was crying the whole entire week prior to the court date. I was so manipulated by him. So we get married at the court and he moves in.
(DURING) Then my life becomes hell. He deletes my socials, blocks my friends and family. Tells me how I can/ cannot dress. I would work night shifts and come home to do every single house chore. I was basically a tradwife, but also a full-time college student and worker. It also turned physical. Over small arguments he would throw me, punch me, throw things, choke me. I was covering black eyes for school. I became so depressed at night while he slept, I stared at the ceiling and imagined ways to kms. All my life was drained from me. Another re-worked chapter. Far less Grand Mages to remember, just the key players this time. Worked to make their positions more clear though their dialogue and some negotiation tactics were on display here.
Zani's character is a lot less aggressive and angsty now! Not everyone got to speak, but that's ok, they were all necessary. All is good in the world.

Crisis of Faith

The seething crowd surged and bucked against the stone-faced City Guard standing at the base of the stairs of the High Sanctuary. Posters and signs waved around in the air, red and black words calling for Vesuvius Blotch to answer to imagined crimes. Forced to abandon their vehicles before arriving at the main bridge connecting Meritorious Square to the Circle, Zani, Tuck and the rest of the City Guard were struggling to make their way to the High Sanctuary itself. Cora and Sentrious enclosed the group in bubbles of air, protecting them from the onslaught of the angry crowd surrounding them. What the bubbles did not do, however, was shield them from the insults and angry voices.
“You’re liars!”
“Exile Blotch! Abolish the City Guard!”
“Burn the Vault down!”
“BipBap was killed to protect Blotch’s power!”
Zani gritted her teeth as she heard people crying for the redemption of BipBap DipDap. The man who had murdered Gravitas Flight. Argentum Chalice. Crescent Pain. A tremor ran up her body as she thought of Crescent, and her eyes fractured from tears. The man who had loved her and looked after her as his brother once had. Murdered during the siege of the High Sanctuary when Mr. Bones, the Arch-Canon of the Faceless Church, and BipBap, his accomplice, had broken in with an army of Hollow Men to steal the documents necessary for them to bring back their race of evil gods. They hadn’t succeeded, and after a long fight, Bones had fled and BipBap was dead. But it hadn’t brought back Crescent. Nothing could.
Doing her best to ignore them, she quickened her pace. Forced to make a quick detour to the Brute to swap their battle-worn attire for the more decorated version of the City Guard uniforms, they were running a few minutes late. After what seemed to have been an eternity, they made it through the crowd, making their way to the doors of the High Sanctuary, where Fenix and another group of Cleavers greeted them. Nodding their goodbyes, the rest of the City Guard detached from them and headed further into the High Sanctuary.
“Mr. Flak, anything you could provide us before going in?” Rylent asked, ever the professional, stepping to the side to allow their Cleavers through as their prisoners were escorted to the cells.
Fenix nodded, handing the commander a sheaf of papers. “The Grand Mages arrived roughly five minutes ago via motorcade. There’s five of them this time. Krytron Glass representing the English Sanctuary, Alfeim Dawn from the Italian Sanctuary, Willow Ardency from Istoria, a Mystical City, and Daemon Steel with his administrator, Aberration De Rais, both from the American Sanctuary.”
Rylent nodded, staring down at the papers. “I’ve met Krytron and Daemon. Both powerful, and they make sure you know about it when you enter a room.”
“But how they present that power differs,” Fenix added. “Krytron likes to lead the conversation, trying to learn from both sides. Daemon has a silver tongue, drawing people close to him before taking them down,” his eyes flickered over to Zani and Tuck. “Don’t underestimate him. He’s still the Grand Mage of America, and he’s known to be fiercely intelligent and ruthless.”
Zani nodded her understanding, carefully examining the administrator’s face as he spoke, trying to spot the tell-tale dark veins of possession. Even now, months after discovering the truth, Zani could hardly believe the man standing before her was a Remnant. Worse yet, the Supreme Mage, Vesuvius Blotch, was aware of it and had hidden it from everyone. Both Zani and Tuck had found it difficult to trust either of them since, and an air of nervousness and tension had developed between them.
“There are three others,” Rylent pointed out. “Aberration De Rais, Daemon’s administrator, whom we know nothing about. Willow Ardency is also an enigma to us.”
“A suitable representative of the Mystical Cities,” Fenix sighed. ‘She’s not the most forthcoming individual. From my understanding, she’s there to listen and determine the threat, and whether the Mystical Cities should get involved.”
Tuck shrugged modestly. “Zani and I have met Ms. Ardency before. She’s cool and is a reasonable woman. I can vouch for her.”
Zani grinned. “Tuck just wants to go back and learn about their sigil magic.” Tuck made a face at her.
“And then Alfeim,” Rylent’s lip curled as he brought the conversation back to the realm of relevancy. “An extremist who will honey his words with slow-acting poison. He hates mortals and anyone who opposes the idea of revealing ourselves.”
“He thinks sorcerers should run the world,” Zani guessed. “How did he become Grand Mage?”
“He was one of Erskine Ravel’s allies,” Fenix murmured, looking at his clipboard. “We weren’t able to deal with him thanks to the return of Abyssinia, the Unnamed and Mevolent. During that time, he took the opportunity to gain allies, and now he’s a weed that refuses to be pulled out.”
Rylent nodded slowly and turned to Zani and Tuck. “I want the pair of you at your best. Not only are these people important officials in our community, but I daresay they will be reporting back to other Grand Mages. We need them to see Ireland unified. Understood?”
They both nodded and Fenix beckoned them forward.
They started walking towards the Hall of Prisms. Leading them through the marble corridors, Zani followed Fenix through two doorways and into a room. Leaving the Cleavers at the doorway, Zani approached the large circular table in the centre of the room. Made of a warm oaken wood, it complemented the darker timber of the source pillars and carvings etched into the walls.
Sitting in the ornate wooden chairs on the right side of the table were most of the Grand Mages, all sitting apart, hoping to avoid appearing as a unified force. Vesuvius had opted for the opposite effect, having his Grand Mages, Maltese Farrell and Veritas Lamarian, sit beside him on the left side.
Out of all of the foreign Grand Mages, only Daemon Steel had bothered to sit near Ireland’s Supreme Mage, sitting on an angle with one arm draped across the back of the chair beside him. The caricature of peace and embodiment of calm. He was wearing a white suit, universally a statement of peace, complete with a crimson kerchief folded perfectly into his pocket over his heart, a stag stitched into it. His family crest.“Ahh, the Prime Detectives of the Irish Sanctuary,” Daemon announced with a grin full of teeth. “We were just being informed that you were on your way. Is Roarhaven giving you a struggle?”
“Not at all, Grand Mage Steel,” Tuck answered smoothly. “We were simply making sure we looked our best before being graced by your presence.”
The man beside Daemon scoffed. “Come now, Mr. Pock. Roarhaven is a magnificent place, filled with everything you could ever need in a city, magic or otherwise. And I must congratulate Ireland on being the first to take the initiative.” Dressed in a navy blue striped suit, his blonde hair combed to one side and deep green eyes, Zani surmised this was the mysterious Aberration De Rais, Daemon Steel’s administrator. She tried to hide the shiver she felt when he looked up at her, feeling those green eyes piercing through her.
“But putting all these sorcerers into one place,” Daemon continued, “can surely create issues,” he moved his index finger from side-to-side. “An elemental has an argument with an enhancer. A bone-breaker poked the wrong chest. A sensitive was caught peeking into someone’s mind. I wouldn’t blame you if you were perhaps a little under the pressure.”
“We’ve been able to handle all incidents so far, sir,” Zani said calmly, grateful to have an excuse to look anywhere but at Aberration. “But we thank you for your concern. It doesn’t go unnoticed.”
Daemon nodded, seemingly satisfied. As Zani, Tuck and Rylent took their seats, the man sitting opposite of Vesuvius rose. His immense shadow stretched across the room, the charcoal double-breasted suit and pants he’d decided to combine with a black pork-pie hat allowing him to blend into the sun as it pierced through the window behind him, blocking his face from them. A perfect style for a man in mourning, a man preparing for murder or for a man conducting serious business. Zani noted the white-grey gloves he had on, and decided upon the third option.
“Gentleman. Ladies,” the man in the charcoal suit inclined his head towards them all, and Zani saw a weathered face of hard lines, framed by flowing dark hair that curled at his shoulders. His eyes, a translucent blue, gave off the illusion that he was blind. She realised she was staring at Krytron Glass, head of the English Sanctuary.
“First, I believe a thanks is in order to Supreme Mage Blotch, for welcoming him into his city,” he nodded at Vesuvius. “Roarhaven truly has not received the justice it deserves from the tales I have heard about it. It is far more magnificent in person.”
Vesuvius nodded his acknowledgement, a professional smile set on his face.
“However, we have also been worried. Being the first sorcerer city, we can only imagine how hard it is to maintain. It’s hard enough dealing with sorcerers in the general public. But when they’re all in one place? A nightmare, I am sure.”
Zani had missed the last part of Krytron’s sentence. After hearing him describe Roarhaven as the ‘first’ sorcerer city, she couldn’t help but look at the only other woman in the room, Willow Ardency. She’d pursed her lips in disapproval, but hadn’t interrupted. She wasn’t one to rise to petty squabbles. Zani couldn’t help but admire the other woman. Her red hair, which was bunched up in a tight bun, paired with her sharp cheekbones and narrow glasses, gave her the appearance of a high school teacher ready to scold her students for messing about. Zani smiled. Though it had been many years since they’d last met, Willow hadn’t changed her style.
“Roarhaven has been standing for twenty-two years,” Vesuvius said calmly. “It has survived multiple onslaughts and battles, and has not been discovered by any mortal. We remain firm to this day.”
“Though you are not incorrect in saying these things, Vesuvius, the mere fact that these onslaughts occurred are worrisome.” A man in crimson robes spoke up. With bushy eyebrows, long grey hair and a goatee, Alfeim Dawn was one of the rare sorcerers that actually looked old. “Since Roarhaven became a city, it has been the breeding ground for every catastrophe in the past twenty-two years. Charivari laid siege upon its walls, Darquesse destroyed a considerable part of it, the Anti-Sanctuary set their plans in motion with the help of Irish Sanctuary staff, the daughter of the Unnamed attempted to reveal magic to the world and attacked this very building we stand in. An alternative Dimension’s Mevolent broke through into this Dimension and almost brought back the Dark Gods. Then, Damocles Creed, who was allowed to be the Supreme Mage of Roarhaven, tried bringing back the Dark Gods. Finally, the Unnamed of all people reappeared after centuries of activity, believed to be dead, and tried burning it to the ground. He killed countless individuals, surpassing Darquesse and including Skulduggery Pleasant, Valkyrie Cain and the remaining Dead Men,” Alfeim leaned forward in his seat, staring intently at Vesuvius. “It is by mere luck that the Unnamed and Mevolent ended their battle by simultaneously killing each other. Now we hear of a new threat attempting to do the same thing. Roarhaven has become the security risk that we all feared. I have no wish to fear-monger or stir trouble here. This is our reality, and something needs to be done.”
“Alfeim is right,” Krytron said, sounding as if he’d have rather said anything else but agree with his fellow Grand Mage. “Roarhaven City has become unstable and,” he bowed his head to Vesuvius, Veritas and Maltese, “with no disrespect to the residing Irish Council, I fear that the task has become a burden. As the leaders of the magical community, it is our responsibility that each and every Sanctuary does not collapse under pressure. We must help each other.”
“Your words sound kind,” Maltese said. “But they carry a similar sentiment that Bernard Sult, Quintin Strom and Illori Reticent all carried. They promised support, help, and a stabilising hand. That was not the case.”
Alfeim bristled. “Do not equate us to them. It was the understanding of the various Sanctuaries that the Supreme Council had been gathered to help. I am not a puppeteer and my beliefs did not align with their own. Many of us around the table still believe that the Supreme Council could be a hand of peace rather than a force of hostility.”
“The Supreme Council was disbanded.” Vesuvius pointed out.
“No, they weren’t,” Alfeim retorted. “They were murdered. Assassinated, under the orders of Erskine Ravel, the Irish Grand Mage at the time, after he killed his closest friends. Then, they were replaced by sympathizers of the Irish Sanctuary.”
“They were not Irish sympathisers,” Vesuvius said, anger biting into his tone. “Erskine Ravel was a terrorist who wanted the subjugation of mortals in the hopes of placing sorcerers in power. He had no help from the Irish Sanctuary, nor its populace.”
“You say this, but we are currently in a City built by an army of Irish individuals who believed in his vision,” Alfeim said with a smile, placing his palms on the table. “A city filled with many who desired his preferred outcome. Regardless of whether you, or your colleagues, had any part to play, what is true is that Erskine Ravel, an Irish Grand Mage, manipulated us into a war, committed an overtly hostile act upon numerous Grand Mages from various Sanctuaries, replaced them with his supporters and attempted to take control. Then, his successor, China Sorrows, replaced his supporters with her own, and threatened and blackmailed those that did not accept her tyranny. The Irish Council appears to be garnering a penchant for this kind of behaviour and it has driven a barrier between Ireland and the rest of the world.”
His words had the intended effect. Vesuvius’s eyes glittered with anger, and Veritas looked at the Italian Grand Mage, his jaw clenched. “You cannot speak as if other Sanctuaries have not used the past few years to their advantage, Alfeim Dawn,” he emphasised the Grand Mages name, drawing a sharp glare from him. “And you say that you were manipulated. I’d say you were given the excuse.”
“Gentlemen,” Willow said, an edge of warning in her tone. “We’re here to discuss our future and work together,” she leaned forward. “I am Willow Ardency, the representative High Mage of Istoria, one of the three great Mystical Cities. I realise I am new here, but having lived in Istoria all my life, I cannot express enough the importance of peace. Too many times throughout history, the Sanctuaries - or their sorcerers - have fought, and it has always led to ruin. It was a conflict between the German and the French sorcerers that created the Cazadores de Demonios. For a time, magic was truly discovered by a small group who proceeded to track down and murder any they believed to be wielding magic. It was the conflict between the Asian Emperors and the European Kings of the magical communities after the fall of the Unnamed that gave Mevolent time to rise up and gain the power he needed to challenge us. The War of the Sanctuaries allowed Erskine Ravel his chance at exposing magic to the world, and he very nearly succeeded.”
Krytron nodded. “Ms Ardency is correct. Vesuvius, please understand that we have no hostility towards you. From what we’ve heard, you’ve been an excellent Grand Mage, with a supportive Council to aid you. We do not believe that you are capable of these acts, but we are all concerned that you may be feeling a bit… stressed with everything happening with the Disciples, your rogue City Guard and the criminal element within the City. We want to help.”
“Krytron makes a good point, Vesuvius,” Daemon murmured, tilting his head towards the Irish Grand Mage. “We will all suffer if a Cradle of Magic falls. Especially if magic is revealed in the process.”
“It almost was,” Alfeim pointed out. “We all felt it, didn’t we? That rush of magic that went through us. The boost of power?”
Zani considered what Alfeim said. After the Battle of the Circle, scientists and the City Guard had analysed the Dark Cathedral, where the Disciples had made their final stand. There, they recovered the body of Valkyrie Cain, impaled by the thought-to-be-lost God-Killer Sword in order to combine the lingering magic of Gog Magog with Valkyrie’s inherited blood and energy from her ancestors, the Faceless Ones. The ancient magical energies combined, creating and feeding the portal that had opened beside her. It had been believed to have been a portal for the Faceless Ones to come through. Instead, it had merely been a tool to channel the magical energies into the Rifts surrounding their Dimension. The rush of magic had been so potent that it had shattered the High Sanctuary’s shield, only adding to the magical chaos.
“We’ve definitely seen its effects, haven't we?” Zani snapped back into focus as Alfeim continued to speak. “Statues once thought to have been carved from mortal hands have shed their stone skins and begun walking around after centuries. Elementals out of time and unknowing of our new customs and practices. People who weren’t aware of their abilities suddenly flying, throwing fire, turning invisible, breaking their friends bones at the slightest touch. Children with access to every magical discipline known and unknown who previously only had a small dose of each now have their magic amplified. Children,” Alfeim slapped his hand on the desk for emphasis. “This was done under Vesuvius’ watch. On Irish soil. Clearly, the Irish Sanctuary can’t be trusted to run itself. Maybe it requires an overseer.”
Daemon Steel tapped a finger on the desk. Zani watched him. As the American Grand Mage, he held a lot of power. A lot of influence. “I can’t say that I am a student of the arts. Certainly not history. But sorcerers have never been terribly fond of oversight. Re-establishing the Supreme Council appears to be a poor move. It would destroy any goodwill we’ve established over the past few years, and it only takes a few bad actors to drag it to its knees. The Sanctuaries remaining independent was done for a reason. To reduce the number of sorcerers in a single area and reduce the chance of us being spotted. Doing this would achieve the opposite. Surely there’s an easier path?”
“I agree,” Vesuvius said. “Oversight and bureaucracy leads to corruption, agendas and rivalry. We do not need to be governed, overseen or babied. We have dealt with every situation that has come our way, and we will continue to do so.”
Krytron held up his hands in a placating gesture. “Nothing has been decided yet, Vesuvius, but you must see our point. The Irish Sanctuary has been at the epicenter of almost every catastrophe in the last three decades. None of us are doubting your strength, your commitment or your ability to run the Sanctuary or to protect your subjects from mortals. But even the strongest pillar can weaken and crumble under pressure. We have to think about the implications beyond Ireland. What sort of ramifications that other Sanctuaries will suffer if you fail.”
“You speak of history,” Maltese spoke up. “But you seem to be content with ignoring ours. You have mentioned every battle and impossibility we’ve faced, but neglected to speak of our victories. Our Sanctuary has been tested and it succeeded. Over and over again,” he gestured to Alfeim. “I am in control of relations across other Sanctuaries. Economic and otherwise.”
“You must be good with PR, then.” Alfeim smirked. Maltese ignored the challenge.
“Many Sanctuaries have admitted to experiencing problems of their own. Wayward sorcerers and accidental reveals of magic to the public. Not only are we far from being the only ones that have suffered tribulations, but we’ve also overcome them.”
“You say this, but I’ve heard differently from your mages,” Alfeim pointed out. He turned to Daemon. “And yours. As well as others,” Alfeim’s voice took on a mocking tone. “There is unrest among the populaces. They haven’t forgotten the War of the Sanctuaries, or what occurred afterwards.”
Vesuvius shook his head. “You keep referring to the Supreme Council and the War of the Sanctuaries, but I believe I’ve made it clear that I do not need to be governed. I don’t need to be looked after. We have this handled and we have this settled. The Disciples are losing ground and their threat is diminished. Mr. Bones is on the run and his accomplices have been dealt with.”
“Dealt with?” Alfeim echoed, a hint of a smile on his lips. “Is that what you’d call it? How about I let people who are more knowledgeable than I talk about how well you ‘dealt’ with them.”
The Grand Mages in the room all turned as Fletcher and Skafflock walked into the room, ushered in by Fenix. Zani’s fist curled and she felt a snarl in her throat. Tuck reached over and grabbed her hand, his eyes burning with anger.
Daemon sighed. “Is this necessary, Alfeim? We all have political struggles back at home. This is stretching our jurisdiction, even if we did have a Supreme Council.”
“We were told that we were required to be here,” Fletcher said. His eyes swept the room and Zani watched as his mouth tightened as they landed on Vesuvius.
“We’d like for you both to tell us about the Disciples,” Alfeim’s eyes flickered to Skafflock. “Starting with you.”
Fenix started forward, but Vesuvius raised a hand, stopping him. Skafflock nodded. “I’m Skafflock and I worked for Mr. Bones.”
“Worked?” Alfeim said incredulously. “From what we’ve been told, you kidnapped a young teleporter, who would later be possessed by a remnant in the hopes that he opened up a portal for the Faceless Ones to come through, you were part of the attack on the Irish Sanctuary and you murdered a Grand Mage. Yet, you remain free, in the constant presence of Vesuvius,” the Italian Grand Mage turned to Blotch. “Your duty is to ensure the protection of your colleagues and subordinates. In order to fulfill your obligations as Head of this Sanctuary, you must seek necessary justice.”
“Vesuvius, I realise this is all personal,” Daemon said sympathetically, “but we’ve received reports that you, Ms. Skafflock, Mr. Flak and Mr. DipDap and Mr. Bones were all close in your childhood. Do you believe this has clouded your judgement?”
Vesuvius stiffened. “I believe not. And to clarify, Mr. Bones was never a friend of ours.”
“But BipBap was,” Krytron rumbled. “A man that fought for Mevolent. Developed technology for him. Your political opponent for many years. Do not think we missed the rioting and chanting outside. What they were saying. BipBap’s death has made him a martyr. He stoked the flames of discontent and if you are not careful, you will burn.”
“His death may not just be unfortunate, but the conclusion of a conspiracy engineered by Vesuvius Blotch to rid himself of any opponents,” Alfeim said, motioning at Vesuvius. “Not only this, but Horizon, the Necromancer’s High Priest, has left Roarhaven and Ash, an incredibly influential man within Roarhaven, was killed by the Arch-Canon. Over the course of two weeks, the individuals capable of keeping the Supreme Mage,” his lip curled as he used the exclusive title of the Irish Head of Council, “were killed or driven away. Is this not suspicious?”
“You believe I’m capable of doing such a thing,” Vesuvius growled, barely containing his rage. “I have done nothing to -”
“We don’t believe that you’d do something like that,” Krytron said, shooting Alfeim a glare. “But we can’t help but noticed that Ms. Skafflock is free, numerous individuals are dead and the main culprit is still loose. This doesn’t look good for the other Sanctuaries.”
Fletcher shook his head in disgust. “I was brought here under the belief that something was getting done. But another Supreme Council? It’s just another step backwards. My son needs me and I’m not spending another second in this woman’s presence.” With that, he teleported away, leaving an awkward silence in his wake.
“If I may,” Willow tapped on the table for attention. “From what I’ve heard about BipBap DipDap, he was a cunning individual capable of causing a lot of harm. I do remember him from the War, and it would appear he did not change. But you all neglect to name his other, and I dare say his primary characteristic. His intellect. Have you not considered the possibility that he was engineering things? Keeping his involvement hidden and at a minimum to fool the masses? By targeting the Vampires in the Fangs and the Necromancers in their Temple, BipBap drove two hated groups out of Roarhaven. In one fell swoop, he deprived Vesuvius of powerful allies and garnered favour in those that never wanted those groups in Roarhaven to begin with. See how easy it was for me to spin the story the other way with so little information? Yet, you wish to spin it another. You are taking the narrative for your own purposes and connecting dots that shouldn’t be connected.”
Alfeim bristled. “Do not presume to tell us what we are doing right and wrong, Ms. Ardency. You have lived in Istoria for a very long time. Of course, I will forgive you for not understanding our way of doing things, but with the Sanctuaries, when one fails, we all fall with it.”
Willow pursed her lips. “I’ll ignore your arrogance. You claim his death was Vesuvius’ fault, but the reports made it quite clear that it was his administrator, Mr. Flak, that dealt the mortal blow.”
Fenix rose from his chair. “It’s true. We were once friends. And it’s also true that I killed him. Vesuvius did not engineer anything, nor did he wish for his death. It was a necessary evil in the midst of combat as we fought the Disciples and prevented them from bringing back their Gods. We were successful and we forced them to run. We are capable of doing this ourselves.”
“Interesting,” Aberration said softly. “So you were the one who saved the day? Perhaps it is not the city but certain people that require a closer examination. In this case, perhaps this task is more suited for Vesuvius than a council. That way, the Supreme Mage can snuff out any,” he tilted his head to the side, “remnants of corruption and problematic situations without worrying about international law.”
Fenix stiffened in his chair and Zani narrowed her eyes. She looked at the man, his green eyes staring up at a shocked Fenix. There was silence around the table, until Alfeim made a noise of annoyance. “So what you’re saying is, we should let Vesuvius run his own internal investigation and come back to us later?”
“What he’s saying,” Daemon leant forward, breaking the levity, “is that it is not possible for us to blame Vesuvius for everything that has happened. Almost all the grievances you’ve raised at the table today occurred under the rule of other people. Erskine Ravel almost exposed magic to the mortals. China Sorrows was the tyrant. The Supreme Mage - and I agree that the title may be a tad on the nose - you’re going after has done none of these things, and in fact, has given autonomy back to the various Sanctuaries that Ms. Sorrows had under her thumb. In the past three years he has ruled, Vesuvius has done quite well. We have had no reason to be alarmed. It would be ludicrous of us to believe that one single event should be allowed to dictate a Grand Mage’s rule, particularly if that event was started by someone antagonistic to Vesuvius.”
There was silence now, and Zani noticed that the American Grand Mage had had an effect on the Grand Mages, many now looking at the Supreme Mage with a new understanding on their faces.
“Well,” Krytron said, “I didn’t realise the Americans and the Irish had such a good rapport. For now, this meeting will be adjourned. Yes, Grand Mage Alfeim,” Krytron said, cutting off the other man’s protests, “there will be no more talk of this until our next meeting. This meeting has gone on long enough.”
Zani stood up, watching the other Grand Mages shaking hands and leaving through the doorway with their security forces. Zani rubbed her eyes. So many weeks of planning so that these men and women could meet, all for this to end with no solutions being made. Just as he’d told her it would end.
“Zani, Tuck, a word,” Vesuvius said, beckoning the Prime Detectives over. “I know you have a lot on your plate. But -.”
“Aberration De Rais,” Tuck said. “You think he knows about Fenix? Sensed his Soul?”
“I can’t be sure, but what he said didn’t amuse me one bit,” Vesuvius muttered. “If he does know, that will cause trouble.”
“Can we just kill him?” Fenix asked, his eyes flinty and hardened.
“And risk the Americans' wrath when they appear to be on our side?” Vesuvius said. “No, we have to deal with this diplomatically.”
“Could we persuade him to keep it to himself?” Skafflock asked. “Or convince him that Fenix was just affected by the Boosting Event?”
Zani shook her head, her mind racing. “None of those will work, but there’s no reason to be alarmed. He has no evidence, and with such a giant claim, he’d need a lot of it to make it a convincing one. In a way, the political tensions amongst the Sanctuaries may work in your favour. People may just see it as an odd way of trying to turn people against you,” she looked out the window next to them, where she could see the protesters getting more violent and physical. “Well, more than they already are.”
“Thank you, Ms. Elandra. No need to extend your observations,” Vesuvius replied curtly, then sighed. “Excellent. Just another problem to deal with. But that’s for the near future. I’ll receive Rylent’s report and we’ll discuss our next steps regarding the Guardians of Supremacy. But even that pales in comparison to what this meeting revealed. I was drawing information out from the other Grand Mages during the meeting and…” Vesuvius hesitated. “It’s not good. Alfeim is seeking the resurrection of the Supreme Council in light of recent events. Krytron is contemplating whether it will serve the interests of other Sanctuaries.”
“What about Daemon Steel?” Maltese enquired and Vesuvius shook his head.
“I couldn’t get any sort of information from Daemon. His posture was open but conflicted. His words are supportive but without any incentive or benefit for him. I don’t know where he truly lies.”
“It’s possible he truly is on your side” Zani suggested. “Sir, if I may, the crowds are growing restless. May I…”
“Yes, yes,” Vesuvius said. “Go.”
Zani nodded her goodbyes and left, walking back outside to the roaring crowds, screaming and chanting their fury, wanting to be heard, teeth bared and gnashing. She saw her colleagues; Mercury, Clay, Roland and Whetstone all part of the line of City Guards and Cleavers keeping the protesters at bay. She watched as they were spat at, punched and screamed at. Her colleagues, who had worked so hard to keep the community safe. She watched as a man raised his hand and conjured a fireball. A woman’s hands started shimmering and another’s eyes started to glow. Her heart broke for the city she’d fallen in love with. A city that had given her a new start. A fresh purpose. Managing to evade the angry crowd through a side-door, Zani slipped further and deeper into the city, she cleared her mind, eradicating emotion and belief. An empty vessel. Just as he’d taught her. Reaching a warehouse, she stepped into the gloom and waited for her eyes to adjust. Standing in the middle of the warehouse, surrounded by training dummies, a boxing ring and various obstacle courses was a large man with his arms crossed.
“Zani,” Brichard said, his voice like thunder. “Are you ready?”
Zani looked at Brichard. Her instructor. Her mentor. “I am.”

Hello everyone, I have been doing a lot of soul searching and thinking lately and I have decided to take the steps to revert to Islam. Learning about Islam and my relationship with Allah has given me so much clarity and peace, but my life circumstances are making it difficult to take the next steps. I have been learning as much as I can from online sources and I have also read the entire Quran and highlighted parts that resonate with me, as well as trying to memorise important Surahs. I still have some unanswered questions and I am sorry there are lots of questions but even if you are able to answer one of them or even just give me some general advice or resources that you would like to share it would be very much appreciated :)
Firstly, a bit of background: I am 24 years old (female) and I am autistic with higher support needs than some other adults and I have a physical disability/chronic health issues too so I rely on support workers and my parents to help me on a day to day basis which then brings me to my questions:
1.Because of my disabilities I see a lot of doctors, a few of which are male, if I am to revert, will I have to find other doctors/surgeons that are female because other men are not allowed to see me exposed?
2.Due to my sensory issues from autism I have short hair, as a female is this allowed? Because I read a Hadith that mentions that women are not supposed to present as male, but I can’t have long hair because it is too overwhelming for me. I would still wear a hijab as I have no problem with that or dressing modestly since I already wear very baggy clothes and don’t even own a pair of shorts (and in Australia that’s saying something!) but I was wondering that even if I am covered I would still have short hair so I don’t know if it still would be seen as wrong.
3.I have an assistance dog that helps me to be more independent and to calm me down etc. but I read that some Muslims believe dogs to be unclean or disapprove of people having dogs in the house, but I need her to be with me a lot of the time and I don’t want to be a social outsider if brothers and sisters find out I have a dog because I already struggle socially and the Ummah is one of the things that draws me to Islam because I think it would be really nice to have a community and friends but I’m worried having a dog will jeprodise that.
4.Because of my disabilities I have a lot of appointments and my days are also based on the schedules of others and so I am worried that I will miss prayer times because of this, and I really want to be committed but I also don’t want to go to hell for missing prayers.
5.I know that alcohol (which I never drink anyway) and other substances that alter your mental focus (I don’t know the best way to describe it) are haram, but I take quite a lot of different medications, mainly at night, that make me drowsy so I can sleep but I don’t know if this would be considered haram but I hope that is okay because I need a lot of my medications to help me.
6.I am very opposed to intimacy of any kind and never have or want to be in a physical relationship with anyone, but I am worried that as I grow older I will be judged or be an outcast if I am unmarried and also do not plan on ever having children as it would not only be dangerous for me to carry a child and I may miscarry because of my disabilities/illnesses, but since I need carers of my own, I do not think I would be able to appropriately care for a child, even if I loved it with all my heart and even with a husband.
7.Unfortunately my family would be very opposed to the idea of me being Muslim. My mother is extremely extremely islamophobic and she has been on rants about it before and says all of the usual things like it’s oppressive or radical or related to terrorists. About 10 years ago she was even part of a Facebook group called “Boycott Halal in Australia” all about Halal foods in supermarkets and things like that, so I know that it would be unsafe for me to not only practice the religion and wear hijab around her, but to even talk about it. I am trying to move out into disability housing so I am hoping hoping that by the end of the year or early next year I will be in supported living and then able to be safe to pray and be myself. My father isn’t as bad but he probably still holds all of the stigma and negative views that people have been fed throughout the years and rather than being angry I think he would be confused and worry that I have been coerced somehow into becoming Muslim, since I am a vulnerable person and he loves me a lot and worries about my safety but I think that if I really had a deep talk to him about it he may not understand why but I think he would at least accept my decision and still love me. My older sister (who doesn’t live at home anymore) would probably laugh at me because she can be quite mean and judgemental in general but I think she would make fun of me or make mean jokes. Either way, I don’t think it would be safe for me to practice Islam while I live under their roof and I do not want to disrespect my parents since the Quran is clear in honouring and respect to your parents.
8.I have done some research and I have looked at the website of a mosque in my area and it looks absolutely wonderful and has Quran classes for men and women and lectures as well as counselling, so there are definitely resources in my area that I can connect to which is great, and I have even found a group for revert sisters that is about 1 hour away that does groups so that is good too. The only problem is that I can’t drive and I can’t get my parents to drive me so I would need to go with a support worker but then that may impede on my ability to make friends. I believe that one day I will have the ability to go on my own inshallah, but for now I still rely heavily on others to leave the house and for transport. Does anyone know of any online groups (possibly in Australia) that I could connect to?
Finally, this is a bit of a silly question but I have been reading about how to perform Wudu and I can’t understand how you are supposed to inhale the water into your nose without it going into your lungs and choking. I haven’t tried it because I haven’t taken my Shahada yet and therefore haven’t started praying, but if someone could explain to me how it actually works without having the water go into your lungs that would be very helpful for when I eventually need to do it.

Yesterday was day 7 of a pretty bad bender & naturally now I’m laying in bed, hands shaking, heart racing, anxiety, shame & embarrassment through the roof… I have made an excuse to my poor fiancé every morning as to why I need to run a quick errand & of course ended up at the liquor store. The liquor store employees even look at me with concern & confusion on face as I’m shakily making yet another morning purchase. I’ve been drinking a pint of vodka every day this week & sometimes even a bit more. I started drinking during working hours (I work from home) & have definitely appeared physically drunk during more than one on-camera meetings. No one has said anything to me but it has to be very obvious that something is off. My fiancé asked me point blank the other day if I was drinking & I of course said no & made an excuse about just being really anxious. I know he doesn’t believe me & I know he’s pretty concerned. My behavior has been super erratic & all over the place for a week… I find him just starring at me at times with a look of desperation & concern. & of course I look awful - puffy eyes, red face…. I’m so fucking ashamed & feel so alone. I want to come clean to him but I don’t know if I can bear the shame. I absolutely need to stop drinking - my health is starting to be affected & that’s terrifying. A part of me wonders if I’ve done permanent damage to my body. I had blood work done a couple months back & everything was normal but I’ve been on more than a few benders since then. I don’t know what to do… the shame is unbearable & I really needed to put this in writing & be honest with someone… anyone.

This is not to say that I don't absolutely love Wilmon scenes but Wille and August just hit differently.
I think there is two reasons for that:

1. Lisas writing: the dynamic she created between Wille and August is just great. There is so much going on between them and their relationship changes quite a lot as both of them grow as characters. Their dynamic in the beginning is already so much fun with August trying to control and suck up to Wille at the same time. And with Wille just tolerating this guy who annoys the hell out of him. Then there is this brief moment of shared grief, before their relationship turns into genuine dislike and eventually hate. At least from Willes side. I don't think August really hates him - he is mad at Wille obviously, but I think he also regrets releasing the video (even though not enough to implicate himself). Then in the second season we get Wille in his revenge era and August being somewhat apologetic, but mostly worried what Wille might do with the truth of what he did. I think August is really scared about people finding out. And then he August becomes the backup and lets this knowledge get to his head. Whereas Wille when he finds out is put into a situation where he suddenly has an out of the life he never wanted, but hates August too much to let him have the crown. I honestly believe, if it had been anyone else, Wille would have stepped down much sooner (though honoring Eriks legacy surely was a reason he held onto it as well). And then you can see Wille slowly getting to a point where his hate for August doesn't matter as much anymore, especially compared to what he stands to loose for himself. I could probably go on about this dynamic between them forever. It is so well fleshed out and you always get where each of them are coming from. It's so much fun to watch!
2. Edvin and Maltes acting! I don't think, I need to explain this. We all know how incredible both of them are. Between those 2 they don't have a single mediocre scene...

Now to 2 Wille/August scenes I will never get tired of watching:

1. Their confrontation in S1E6: on the surface you can see how mad Wille is. But one look in Edvins face and you can see all of the hurt and grief and overwhelming emotions. More than the breakup with Simon this confrontation makes my heart break for him. He is left all alone in the world. He had decided to trust someone he didn't even like and was betrayed in the worst way possible. And I'll say it again: Edvins face! Someone just wrap this boy in a blanket and hold him. He is hurting so much. But then there is also August. And this scene is one of the reasons why I believe he genuinely regrets what he did. He can't even look at Wille and he appears to be close to tears as well. But there is also nothing he can do to make this right, his lame apology certainly isn't gonna do the trick. I love how Malte portrays August in this scene. It's very believable and human. And as much as I hate him in this moment I can still see what he is going through.
2. Their conversation in S3E6: This is one of many scenes in the finale that I didn't see coming and didn't know I needed. After everything these two have been through and done to each other, this genuine scene between them was so needed. I love how Lisa handled it by slowly guiding their relationship to a point where they could make their peace with each other. Wille doesn't forgive August and I don't think he should, but he is letting go of his anger and moves on. Love it! Also, Wille apologizing for Erik was kind of unexpected but so in character for him. He is just such a good person and I think it actually meant a lot to August. But the most important part of this scene for me is when August tells Wille that Erik would have loved him. I mean, we had Simon telling him that, but he couldn't have known. He didn't know Erik. And then Felice told him as well. With her it was already easier for Wille to hear because she did know Erik a little. But it still felt like something you would say to comfort someone without really knowing if it was true. But when August told him, Wille could actually believe it. August did know Erik well and he was a "victim" of this initiation, but he still didn't think Willes relationship with Simon would have mattered to Erik. This combined with the difficult relationship Wille and August have makes this statement from August so much more impactful. I am a crying mess every time I watch this scene. Wille really did need to hear this from August to be able to actually believe it.

Sorry, this post ended up being a lot longer than I thought. But I just needed to get it out how much I enjoy watching their relationship develop. And how much I enjoy seeing Edvin and Malte on screen together. So, yes some of my favorite scenes are between these two.

Did you hear it break? Did you realize all the things I had to take? All the smiles I had to fake, All the steps I had to make.
Did you see me fall? Did you see how I became so small? Did you watch me struggle in life's fight? Did you see my soul's last light? Did you hear my heart cry? Did you see my world die?
Like a house of cards, Life broke me down, I'm surrounded by shards. Each one sharper than before, Every day, they seem to grow more. Life turns into a living hell, From heights I soared, to depths I fell. But at least I can say, with pride and gall, No matter what, I gave it my all.

I know many of these topics have been talked about to hell and back, but I just need to talk about it.

1. This game is gorgeous. The cinematography, the lighting, the graphics, the atmosphere, the sound design… Everything lines up to create such a unique and memorable world. Hats off to the team.
   
2. THIS is how you write a warrior female protagonist. Her entire identity isn’t just being a woman in a “man’s role”. Which I feel just further reinforces outdated gender stereotypes. But a human who has wants, dreams, and fears. I’m a guy, and I want to be Senua. She has genuinely become a role model for me in a way. She is so fucking badass, fails sometimes but never gives up, and has this fire within her that drives her to overcome literally anything thrown at her.
   

It’s such a fine balance that this game strikes perfectly. They don’t ignore she’s a woman warrior, often facing stronger men as opponents. But they also don’t delve into that “girl boss” territory. Which is hard to really define rigorously, and that’s why I think many writers struggle to get it right. But basically they don’t simply write her as a man, ignoring the fact she’s a woman, but they also don’t lean too far into the fact that she’s a woman and overplay it. It’s just one small part of her character. She’s up there with the likes of Ripley, Ahsoka, Sarah Conner, Cortana, Lara Croft etc. But I genuinely think she tops all of those.
She’s smart, cunning, an extremely skilled warrior, and leverages the fact that others underestimate her. She has real depth. You can feel her pain. You feel her loss when her people die. When you succeed, you feel proud for her. When the male warriors call her weak, underestimate her, and even begin to win a fight due to their greater strength, it feels so rewarding to beat them.

1. The fighting system, while simple and not really changed much from the first entry, feels so much more rewarding. I credit that to the animation department. Everything feels so smooth and realistic. When you chain a few dodges, a block, and a counter altogether… it feels insanely good. It honestly feels better than more complicated fighting systems. It leans into the cinematic aspect of the game, and that makes it feel a lot less repetitive than you would think.
   
2. The schizophrenia aspect was done perfectly, again. Senua doesn’t always fight the voices and visions, and accepts them as part of her identity. But she also doesn’t let them control her, even if they sometimes overwhelm her. They feel like companions of sorts. They are also great at moving the story along, giving gameplay hints, showing you what Senua is thinking, and building the atmosphere.
   
3. The story is taken in new directions while building off the strengths of the first entry. It doesn’t feel rehashed, but it also doesn’t feel entirely foreign. I credit this to Senua’s incredible writing. Again, the story beats are so enjoyable because you are truly rooting for her. While it’s nothing groundbreaking, it’s a well written story that is thoroughly enjoyable.
   

Overall, this game isn’t for everyone and I know that. Some people don’t enjoy cinematic games and I can respect that. But as a cinematic game, it’s truly a 10/10 masterpiece. The team did an incredible job, and I can’t give them enough credit for it. You can feel the passion and love they put into it. If any devs are lurking here, you should feel proud of what you’ve created!

I never knew what my problem was as a child. Everything seemed to affect me tremendously, good or bad, and I had poor social skills as a result. My asthma was horribly bad and traditional medicine didn’t work well on me. I was also shy, emotionally withdrawn, had very few friends but would latch onto the few I managed to find, and moved from person to person while forming very few long lasting bonds. I was more of a loaner and both happy and sad being alone. I hated school, being around people, and was bullied horrendously.
In the 7th grade, my parents enrolled me in Karate for a lack of anything better to do with me. I was a regular target for ridicule at school and my grades were tanking as a result. Karate ended up giving me a little physical confidence, or I was at least not such an easy target with the training. Things slowly improved but the same problems persisted despite being less intense.
I wrapped myself in music and attitude to shield myself from the world. My safe haven was Metal. It was rough and tough, the edge appealed to me, but then I was still more of a curiosity being the shy geeky Metal dude who was socially awkward. I was putting up walls and hiding behind a facade, but I found the intense emotion of the music intoxicating. It would give me shivers, hair stand on end, tunnel vision, and waves of energy. I knew it was weird and never told anyone. It only happened with certain songs and I would embrace it in solitude.
I fell in love at the end of the 11th grade. She was a pastor’s daughter and I was most likely the embodiment of every sin her parents could imagine in human form. We were together for two weeks, school went on break, and she was gone for the rest of the summer. I’m sure her parents spent the entire time convincing her to let me go because that’s exactly what happened on her first day back to school.
Over summer break, I considered us as a couple. At the ripe age of 17, I somehow realized that I wasn’t going to be successful at any interpersonal relationships (especially the romantic type) being an introverted metal head who was emotionally unavailable. I cut my hair and cleaned up my act. My grandparents gave me a ‘71 Bug, my dad and I lowered it and installed a stereo (because that’s what you did in 1986), changed my wardrobe, and tried my best to impress the young woman who was going to dump me at first sight senior year.
That first day of senior year was one of the worst days I’d experienced at that point in my life. Being a newly transformed man, no one knew me, I’d mostly been friends with the previous graduating class, and I was now alone. I’d been trying to get a hold of her weeks before school was back in session, but we never connected. I slowly realized she was avoiding me as she and her BFF were literally the last two students to stroll into the gym assembly. She saw me and didn’t even wave, just a look like she wasn’t enjoying being there or seeing me.
The day dragged on like this forever. I finally caught her somewhere and was greeted with “we have to talk”. That was the only thing she said in passing as I fell silent and broken hearted. I had figured it was coming, but it’s another thing to hear it. I lost hope at that exact moment while my world collapsed upon me. Everything I’d done to improve myself and become a better person, or at least better than I previously was, meant nothing to her.
Somehow, I embraced it. I decided she was dumping the metal guy that I myself had ceased to be. I was feeling better about myself, less of a target, I had a cool car, chose to be positive with a new trajectory in life. Ironically, I felt bad for her because she was letting go of the metal guy but also someone she didn’t even know. I still felt like shit but, when she finally got around to dumping me, I explained that I understood and that the old version of me wasn’t any good for her, but that guy was gone and she has no idea what she’s losing. I told her we were still friends and that I would always care for her, but that I had to leave and that I was sad to do so.
It initially felt good walking away without outwardly sulking but, Jedi mind trick aside, I was dying on the inside. That first week of school was amazingly rough with no friends and this other geek douche bag closing in on my ex, to which she seemed immediately receptive. It would be an understatement to say that I became bitter, but I didn’t go full-asshole on them in the traditional sense. I became one of the most popular kids in school and bounced from group to group. I spent more time having fun than should have been allowed, and the looks of disdain from the ex and her new BF were both constant and intense. I got under their skin in the most glorious fashion without even trying. Sadly, I didn’t realize I was just putting up walls in a new manner to shield the pain.
Toward the end of my senior year, I met Michelle. It was a chance meeting that never should have happened. We were haphazardly thrown together, friends of friends on holiday during Memorial Day weekend in Santa Cruise. She was goth and I was the prep, seemingly oil and water but the attraction was electric. We spent the next 4 years drifting together and apart, separated by distance but close intimacy doing something we called “sending”.
I don’t remember how it started, but we could send waves of emotional energy at each other over hundreds of miles. Neither of us understood it, but it was powerful and comforting. We had a song which would trigger us both and we had fun with it till she pushed me out one day. I was doing a hard-send and it came right back at me, reflected back with severe force. It hurt emotionally and I was physically fatigued afterwards. We ended up talking and she explained she had been driving and pushed me out for fear of wrecking her car. Something didn’t sit right with me and we finally drifted apart for the last time. I missed her for years and wondered for another decade if she could still feel me if a send slipped on a random song.
I only ever had this connection with Michelle. My sending later evolved into something used in close proximity during moments of intimacy, randomly when the mood was right, usually close to the end, as a sort of gift. It heightened my experience as well, feeling them feel me. I never discussed what I could do as it sounds crazy to most people and felt better as my little secret. Again, I internalized and kept my walls up to protect myself.
I grew older, got married, then divorced after a 10 year relationship. It wasn’t my fault, she lied and cheated. When it was over, I just gathered my things and left acknowledging that chapter of my life had closed. While carting a load of belongings to my new apartment, I had to pull over to the side of the road and, for no apparent reason, I had a complete lapse of reason and emotional breakdown. I barely got off the road and had no idea what I was experiencing. Everything was blurry, my mouth was open, and all I could do was wail endlessly while incapable of actual speech. I’d never been so frightened and confused at the same time. In hindsight, I believe my latent emotions mixed with those of my ex while I performed the final act of ending our decade long relationship.
I bounced around for a few years, fell in love, had a child, and continued my life. I was different in some ways and determined not to become that raving mess that I’d been on the roadside. Be a man, be a provider, be the anchor of my family. I was strong in will and determination, shedding my past and marching forward. I now realize the walls came up again and I marched forward emotionally unavailable and shielding any potential pain. Seems history does repeat itself and often.
As I aged into my 50’s, nagging health problems arose. Aches, pains, weight gain, fatigue, all the usual stuff but they seemed to hit me a little harder. Some chronic problems combined with an acute shoulder injury needed to be addressed. During a visit in late 2022, my doc asked me how I was doing with some dramatic corporate restructuring at work, I answered, then he pulled me aside with some concerns about depression. I had some personal and career challenges, but I hadn’t thought that I had any emotional disturbances. He’d been giving me hints for a few years about addressing low testosterone, but he finally laid out all the problems associated with low-T aside from the obvious sexual ones. Every point he made struck a chord with me and I finally started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
Several months later, I had been on TRT and made both dietary and lifestyle changes. Many of my aches and pains were gone, I’d lost weight, had more energy, and felt more alive than I had in 30 years. I also slowly became more loving, compassionate, and eager to explore everything life has to offer. I joked that I was embracing my mid-life crisis, some of which had to be true, but I felt fundamentally changed or reborn.
It’s not all good though as rebirth also has stages of development. The first stage was anger and temperament as I had a short fuse. The second stage brought errand emotions seemingly influenced by those around me. The third stage was my sexual awakening, which caused some problems at home but we’re working through that. The fourth stage is apparently hypersensitivity and the final realization that my ability returned after more than three decades of slumber.
I was not in control and absolutely losing my mind. It was difficult to handle my heightened emotional state, a disconnect at home between me and my wife, and taking on the emotional stress of others as I absorbed everything around me. I’d never researched who I am, what I’m called, or what I’m capable off. Confusion and anxiety set in and expressing myself at home wasn’t going well. At one point, it seemed that everything I touched turned to ash. I was hurting the ones I loved, especially my son who is very young, sweet, and innocent. He’s as close to an angel as I’ve ever been, and I felt like a toxic father who was out of control and losing touch with reality.
On a whim, I spoke with my mother. She has some psychic ability but I never took it seriously, plus we hadn’t talked about it since my late childhood. Turns out I inherited my ability from her, she’s essentially the same as I, and she has used her ability in the same manner as i did with the sending and receiving. I asked for a name so I could research it and figure a solution to my problem, but she didn’t know what to call it either. However, my mom did know how it worked and that things go haywire if not grounded. She explained that I had become a beacon without focus, pulling energy from everything and everyone around me. She explained grounding would help me gain control. I later reached out to Reddit and learned of the Clair Senses, cords, and a vague understanding of grounding and cord-cutting techniques.
A dear friend reached out to help me exactly when I needed it most. The timing was uncanny as he runs a neurofeedback clinic which treats many ailments including anxiety and PTSD. He explained some of his therapy is tailored to allow the brain to reset and break the stress causing cycle. Sounded close enough to grounding to me, so I had a session of therapy incorporating several techniques, the first of which was a sort of guided meditation. I was placed in a zero-gravity chair fitted with vibrating transducers. While blindfolded and wearing headphones, I listened to an audio program synced with the transducers in the chair. The tactile feedback made the experience very immersive and relaxing as I followed a woman’s voice, ocean waves, and vibrations from the chair. I imagined that I was floating up and down in the water while in a very relaxed state both physically and mentally.
It’s amazing how immediate and dramatic the relief was. After one 20 minute session, I felt unburdened, relaxed, and with mental clarity which had previously escaped me. I almost felt reborn. My friend noticed the difference in my demeanor and a huge smile on my face. He offered a beer and we mused over my experience. I immediately knew this is what I needed to gain control of my ability and the trajectory of my life. It was literally a life-changing experience.
The week that followed was interesting to say the least. Lots of mental housekeeping, attending to and repairing bonds with friends and family, evaluating personal relationships which had been strained and in desperate need of repair. A path of self-discovery of how and why I feel things the way I do. I didn’t have it all figured out, but the pieces of the puzzle were fitting together despite not seeing the whole picture yet.
I took my family to the theatre and watched IF this past weekend. Great movie and a bit of tear-jerker, but very slow in parts and I fell asleep. I woke with the movie still playing and felt my heart sink, eyes water, and it took a lot of willpower not to start balling. I had no idea what was going on in the movie and was extremely confused as to why I was feeling this way. I cleared my eyes and realized this was the most emotionally charged portion of the movie. It slowly became apparent that I had absorbed the emotional state of those around me while in my unconscious state. Then the lightbulb came on.
Sitting in the theatre, I suddenly realized that I’d been an empath since early childhood. All the shyness, social awkwardness, being overly sensitive, emotional, and depression were all empathic characteristics. I had grown emotionally stronger in early adulthood but had subconsciously attempted to ground myself by putting up walls and being emotionally unavailable during times of crisis. I suspect my testosterone started to slowly decline around age 30 but had come raging back with recent TRT injections. The empath I had meant to be had been suppressed for over three decades.
Then I looked over at my son. He is the most amazing child. Loving and caring, but emotional and depressed at times. He excels at most everything, but challenges destroy him emotionally and I can feel it when he is down. He holds back and chooses to support those around him rather than take initiative. The highs and lows are incredible and frustrating. He has few friends and is content being a loaner. I now realize he has most likely inherited some empathic ability from me and I’m a bit frightened.
Upon reflection, what convinces me my son is an empath is a change in his demeanor half way through the 1st grade. Previously, he was the happiest child literally 100% of the time. Everyone, random kids and strangers, were his BFF. Stranger danger was a huge concern for a few years. He especially loved pretty women, would flirt, and their smiles and happiness seemed to feed him. He was cute, what he did was cute and joyous, and everyone seemed drawn to him. I believe he absorbed the emotions of those around him and it was one glorious cycle till one day it wasn’t. The cycle ended around the age when children start to develop their personalities and sometimes exercise poor judgement the process. This happened for us around the half-way point of 1st grade. My son became concerned and asked why some of his friends were mean. It’s hard to explain to a 6 y/o how kids can be dicks, but the questions kept coming and we had to explain that not everyone can be friends, some children can’t tell right from wrong, and sometimes they unintentionally hurt those around them. He started to withdraw shortly after and it was like watching part of our child’s happiness being chipped away. As I’m writing this, I realize he has put up walls, in the same manner that I did, to shield himself and protect his feelings. This is his attempt to protect and ground himself.
This is my journey so far. Every few days or week, I reflect upon something new and have an epiphany. The puzzle pieces are still coming together one by one, but I still strain to see the whole picture. I wish I didn’t have to deal with any of this, take the blue pill, and fade away into the bliss of ignorance. However, I have a child to consider and want to provide him with a life which is better than my own. I used to think that centered around a stable home, family, education, and financial support. I now realize he also needs the understanding and guidance of a father who has walked his path. I’m still trying to figure this out, but my son won’t have to figure it out alone

I'm not expecting this to get any views or anybody even seeing this in the first place, but I've just needed to get something off of my chest that has been slowly paining me. I'm a Bi Man, and I've been going through what every high-schooler stuck in a love triangle is going through. My Guy Best Friend is someone who we made early connections with at the start of the school year and have only continued to grow. At first, it was simple friendship when he invited me over because he was "interested from a sticker on my chromebook". Not long after that, we became friends and exchanged phone numbers for work purposes because we had a couple classes together. Then we started texting a lot and grew comfortable with each other, so much to the point that we've started texting each other daily to this day. We would tell each other about our mental health and what we wanted to pursue when we got older, and I slowly started gaining a liking to him because of how open he was to me and how easily he trusted me over almost all of his friends. This crush only got worse when he started sending me mixed signals when he had recently became single due to his now ex-girlfriend cheating on him. He would randomly give me side hugs and lean on me in the hallways as if we were together. He would also text me very sus things when I would try to "bully" him over silly stuff he did. He would also tickle me and poke me randomly in class on my side even though he knew I wasn't ticklish anymore, not to mention he was very touchy in other ways as well. Towards the end of the school year, he had me "pick him up" from his other friends and walk him to his classes because the friends he hangs out with are kind of weird and he says they annoy him. Then, when we were playing Roblox on call he had randomly said "If nothing works right now in high school, in 10 years I'm willing to give us a try" which broke me like crazy. Not only did all of this make me think he was starting to catch feelings for me as well, but it didn't help my case towards if he was straight or possibly Bi like me. Then, he got another girlfriend. Like I said, he tells me everything and I had actually helped him come up with a good plan towards asking her out, in which it actually worked, so I'm technically one of the reasons they got together in the first place. He would text me about how nervous he was about asking her out, and how he would need me there before he did ask her or he would have a panic attack. I thought that it was sweet, but it also hurt me as well because I had still had a crush on him at the time. There was a time before him and his current girlfriend that I had tried to "shoot my shot". On April Fools Day, me and my girl best friend had decided to come up with a plan towards asking him and another one of my crushes out. I would send them a nice little love letter telling them how much I admire and have had a crush on them, and wanted to be their boyfriend. If they didn't want to get together, I would simply just say April Fools and play it off but if they said yes, then I would get with them. I sent this to him and my other crush, which was a girl. The girl's reaction was so pleasant and we ended up talking, in which we're currently in a situationship because it's her first time in a "relationship" and it's unlocking a new part of life for her and she's kind of busy for a relationship to be in her long list of things she needs to include in her busy schedule. While that was happening, I sent him almost the same text by saying "I'm gonna tell you who I actually like" because he had been begging me about who it was weeks before. I told him that I actually liked him and he gave me mixed signals AGAIN. After reading the lovey-dovey paragraph I sent him explaining why I love him and wanted to be with him, he said "Type Shit" as if he was trying to play it off. He said that it had changed nothing and he kinda guessed that I liked him. Afterwards, he had asked if this was an April Fools joke, and my heart was racing at the moment so I wasn't thinking and said "yea" while playing it off instead of asking him out. When I was playing it off he didn't say anything but just "ok", being dry as usual. I sent a pic of the messages to my girl best friend and she thought since he was being kind of serious in the chats that maybe he liked me as well, so asking him out would've revealed it but I was so panicked that I forgot to. Nowadays, it's a whole lot different. I feel like after that April Fools joke, we've just gotten closer which keeps feeding the crush factor I have on him. Like I said, we text each other everyday and it's always just "how you doing" or "get on fortnite" but it's like full-blown conversations. Some days, I text him first but other days he'll text me "good morning" or "good afternoon", or even ask how I'm doing or what I'm doing. He had also said "Love you bestie" one night which totally threw me off and didn't help my case at all, but when I said it back he used it as ammo to my girl best friend saying that I told him the same thing when he said it before me. There's many other things he'll do like how he'll tell me when he's going to beat IT, or he will grab my leg and rub the inside of my pants pockets. He had also shared a playlist filled with love songs in it and told me that we could share it and add any love or breakup songs into the mix. Now the big question that I'm reaching out to any of you who have been through this situation or others like this before. Like I said, he has a girlfriend but also still sends me mixed signals through text and when we're in person and I'm starting to think what he's doing isn't a joke anymore. I just need help and any advice that can help the situation I'm in and possibly help me see what these signals are or even if they are signals. Should I wait or should I try my hardest to drop this crush and pursue this situationship I'm in?

First and most important part is the proper ending they left with a whole cliffhanger where Eivor just went to America like that and spendt his days beeing scitzo with Odin by himself in a forrest with nothing to tell about nothing. Even his body was found nicely placed in a grave with his stuff. Biggest bummer after 400H of playtime. What do you think?
Second of all i would have liked to see more depth into Odin and the assassins route taking eivor into the brotherhood instead. Odin should have learned about their goals of stopping Templars from abusing the power of the isu artifacts and focused on stopping the humanity from doing the evil takeover. Eivor could have had a kid he could have lived on trough continuing their cause or some shit :P Maby abit to much with the kid but something so we had a closeure but also eivor becoming an assassin. Right?
Third of all i would have loved to see more places and journeys. One majore place that is left out is Denmark. In the end back in Norway they spoke of Iceland and i got so stoked but he did not go. Wales could have been added to the England map. Also Germany & maby Sweeden :) Any else?
