I have been investing in Index funds and crypto for the past 8 years. I have never really thought about metals. Until recently when I was moved to start buying silver out of the blue. I purchased 35.5 oz. Over the last couple weeks ( I know not a ton, but something) now the price is pumping! I do t know much about silvecommodity investing....with my ETFs and crypto I just dollar cost average....that works well....but silver feels different....I live in a state where I have to pay 6 percent sales tax, and everywhere has a minimum 200 dollar order to avoided shipping costs.....I also have absolutely NO SILVER SHOPS/COIN STORES near me....so I'm stuck to buying online.
All this to say, unlike my ETFs and crypto I can't just throw money in every week and forget about it. Not looking to buy 200 dollars minimum every week to avoided free shipping....but don't know if buying 1 time every month or so is going to be effective for DCA.
Feel lucky that I bought literally RIGHT BEFORE THE PUMP which has offset most of my taxes, and premiums....I think I'm only like 20 dollars in the red....haha!
What should I do? Wait for a pullback or just buy a bit regardless.of prices every month or two?

There's a lot of chatter over OTCs uplisting, Canadian companies acquiring MSOs such as SNDL, CGC, and now TRLY with their recent dilution aimed at expansion, but there has been no talk about a company with one of the best big tobacco backers in the game. Enter Cronos Group.
Altria, $MO, the 80 billion dollar tobacco giant, purchased 45 percent of Cronos in 2019.

They purchased this portion of Cronos at a much higher valuation than it currently sits, buy they remain very invested in Cronos, looking to expand it into a strong US player. In their 2023 investor presentation, they mention on slide two that turning Cronos into a strong US contender is a high priority. What they've been waiting on is federal changes. Well, here we are now.
Last year, there rumors that Cronos was looking to sell the company to Curaleaf.

Although that didn't manifest, it is interesting for a number of reasons.
A) Cronos is sitting on a ton of cash they got from the Altria deal. They have more cash on hand than anyone in the cannabis sector. Over 800 million dollars.
B) with that cash, Cronos has the ability to strengthen the balance sheet of any player that absorbs them.
C) This part is HUGE: Altria's deal with Cronos gives Cronos exclusive rights to Altria's expansion in the cannabis sector. Altria cannot do anything cannabis related without going through Cronos.
If Curaleaf, or another big player, for example, wanted to do business with Altria, they would have to acquire Cronos.
So I see a few different scenarios possibly playing out here.

1. Altria aggressively builds up Cronos without adding to their current share position. They already own over 40 percent, so it benefits them greatly if Cromos expands in a strong way in the US. Cronos has a ton of cash to acquire MSOs and with Altria's guidance they will become a major player. I could even see a reverse merger where Pharmacann merges with Cronos to become one entity. Cronos purchased a 10 percent stake in Pharmacann a while back and Pharmacann has put off their IPO plans for a couple of years now. I would also look out for some sort of transaction including Gotham Green Partners considering they have the CEO of Gotham on their board.
   
2. Altria decides to just buyout the rest of Cronos. This could be a cash deal or stock exchange. It would certainly be at a higher marketcap valuation than it currently sits. This would be great for anyone holding CRON shares and great for MO investors long term.
   
3. A company like Curaleaf decides to acquire Cronos to obtain the ability to work with Altria. This would have to be a stock deal and would be dilutive to the larger company, but they do it to acquire the cash reserves to fix their balance sheet and to work with Altria.
   
4. Scenario 3 happens and then in addition, $MO buys out the entire new entity.
   

There is going to be a lot of M&A in this sector in the company months and years. Big players have been waiting on rescheduling news to make their moves. The next few months the first few dominos wil probably fall.
All in all, Cronos somehow convinced a big tobacco company to give them an exclusive deal. This was a bad move on Altria's part. they either need to buy their way out of this or have another player buy their way out, or they need to help rapidly expand Cronos to turn it into a thriving business instead of a giant pile of cash company. No matter what, I believe there is an arbitrage here for people investing in the stock.
There is also a ton of incentive for Altria or Curaleaf to buy them out ASAP, as the cannabis sector is going to have richer premiums by the month now.

I had a buyer in the UK purchase a high dollar guitar from me on Reverb, and gave me his address via Reverb messages. I was charging $250 to ship the guitar internationally on my listing, and the actual shipping came out to around $170-$180 ish. Somehow the buyer got Reverb to refund him for $88 post purchase for the difference, but this did not come from my bank account. After the money was cleared on his end, I received a notification from Reverb stating the order was cancelled. I would have to assume because he was using a new account with no feedback (classic fishy/scammy activity). He then messaged me from a different Reverb account and bought the guitar, which ended in the payment clearing. Fast forward about a week after I shipped the guitar to him, I received a notification from the buyer stating the package was coming back as insufficient address and was stuck in the USPS system (the guitar later came back to my address and is now in my possession), and he was requesting a refund for $3400 (the full amount with taxes that he paid). I was only paid $2888 after reverb fees for this guitar, so I informed the buyer that his refund amount was incorrect, and that I would be contacting Reverb to iron out the exact amount to be refunded (if I sent him the $3400 refund, I would be out $500 and was not sure how this would work without Reverb being involved). This buyer has went full meltdown mode, even "reporting me to the UK police for fraud" simply because Reverb is taking multiple days to fully iron this out, and I have the guitar back in my possession. There has been so much back and forth between me and the buyer regarding the sale, that I am not really sure what to make of all this lol Is this a scam? Am I missing something?

My first audition with a jazz ensemble. Bass, drums, guitar, vocals, some horns.
They play standards. They gave me a list of what they are working on and I'm to come to their rehearsal on Tuesday. I think they already have a piano player so I'm auditioning as a backup.

I've never gotten a phone on contract before but I'm looking to replace my phone so I was looking around at what the offerings were today. My impression before this was that the idea was in exchange for locking you in with them for 2 years, you'd get at least a bit of a discount on the price. What I found was since they won't let you get the phone with the cheaper plans it seems like its virtually always more expensive than just buying the phone, usually by several hundred dollars.
My current plan is with Public Mobile and it's $29/month. Gives me 20GB/month which is a lot more than I seem to need (I saw they even had 40GB at the exact same price for new customers). For phones, I'm specifically interested in the Pixel 8a or the Pixel 8 so full price just buying the phone would be $680 or $950 respectively. The 8a was also on sale until today so you could get $150 off, making it closer to $530 (more like $545 I think since I believe the discount was post-tax).
In comparison the contract offerings (adding up difference in plan cost & monthly phone cost over 24 months + upfront costs if any) mostly ranged $1000-$1900 for the 8a and $1250-2150 for the 8. Freedom was the only one who seemed to even be trying with their 8a adding up to $800 and their 8 to $1100. And this was supposedly with sale prices going on right now.
Seems like, unless you're already on one of the pricier plans, by far the best option is just to wait until the phone is on sale somewhere that sells it outright and buy it that way. Is that everyone else's experience or did I just happen to be looking at a bad time?

Hi, I’m an accountant employed in the PH planning to resign and accept a contact offer to work remotely (US based company with no PH office). I’ve been doing my research on how I should properly transition with regards to filing my taxes because I’ll be the one to file everything, but if anyone has the same experience with this, I’d like to ask a few things.

1. Would I be tagged self-employed in this case? I read that I need to updated my BIR records prior to the start of the contract. And would I be required to have my printed official receipt/service invoice & stamped general ledger as well?
   
2. Since the transition is middle of the year, I assume I’m also going to file under mixed income earner during the year and not allowed to file under the 8% tax regime anymore for the year.
   

I’m planning to consult with a tax professional, but if you have experienced or been in a same scenario, would like to ask for some advice/tips po sana on what I have to keep in mind.

Dimmy is wearing loads of dark makeup and another gigantic billowy dress, and you know what that means… time to go car shopping again with paid pal Diana! Sidekick Kate was a good sport through the whole car shopping ordeal, despite hopping from bathroom to bathroom, the charge running out on her Tonies box, and her Mylar princess balloon sailing away in search of a beach to pollute. Screenie Kate forgave Dimmy for losing her balloon since she knows there’s always plenty more where that came from and she has Wina from Balloonish on speed dial. Dimmy sailed from new car to new car thanks to a strong breeze and her billowy dress, looking for the SUV with the most charging ports for all of her devices and the largest number of adjustable cup holders big enough to fit even the most gigantic of Stanley cups in her collection. She found the “Hun-Die” Palisade fit the bill, with chargers and cup holders galore. She wasn’t as impressed with the Kia “Tell-a-ride” because it didn’t have as many cup holders and ports to charge her numerous devices. Feel super awkward posting this but I'm hoping it will help someone! I've struggled with HH my whole life!
I've had it on my hands and feet since I was a baby and it's plagued most of my body since puberty (exacerbated by anxiety). Ionto totally fixed the hands and feet problem and glyco has been great on days when I really need it but the side effects are too taxing for me to take it every day (including the 3am alarm I have to set to take it at the perfect time).
Lately I've been REALLY struggling with HH on my butt/lower back. This is probably the place I have it the worst other than my hands and feet. It seems to have gotten worse in the last 6 months. And it's really bad. Like, if I wear grey shorts, I look like I fell in the pool after 5 mins of sitting down in them.
I have to change pants/underpants multiple times a day because otherwise I'm just sitting in extremely wet, uncomfortable clothing. I've tried cotton, loose clothing, period underwear, all the tips! Nothing helps. If I sit on a plastic chair I can't do that slide and scooch trick everyone talks about to get rid of the sweat mark. I've left a god damn puddle! If I slide, all it does is change the pattern of the mark! It does not get rid of it!
I've really been at my breaking point. So I decided to try a topical as a last resort. I've tried topicals for my hands and feet and tbh they didn't do anything and they irritated the living daylights out of my hands! I'd get so unbearably itchy it was like I was stung by ants.
But desperate people do desperate things and I'm glad I did! I tried "No More Sweat" and oh my god it worked! I think so anyway! It did nothing for the first few days and then after day 3-4 I noticed a MAJOR reduction in sweat. (This is not an ad btw lol.) I've sat through several meetings now (which is often what triggers a major sweating episode) and been dry. I've gone for runs and walks and stayed dry! Like I'll be sweating in other places but my butt/lower back is fine!
I'm still cautious and haven't fully got my hopes up but OMG! If this works long term it will be such a miracle! I have been so, so uncomfortable and I've been doing a crazy amount of laundry! It's even worse in the winter months cause I'm wet AND cold.
Anyway, my PSA is that sometimes you just gotta try the treatment and maybe even give it another go!

Hi friends, I'm not a frequent reddit user, so apologies if anything below was formatted/phrased/etc incorrectly!
tl;dr - Consistent printing misalignment across multiple firmware updates has me wondering if it's time for a new printer, or if there's some esoteric setting or troubleshooting I need to do to get my hardware to cooperate. I am looking for recommendations on a new printer, but am also open to troubleshooting tips for my current printer.
Details: My current home printer is an Epson WF-2830. One of the most common things I need it for is to print price tags for my small business. My current efforts for this involve those pre-perforated tag sheets that you're meant to print on and then tear the tags out of. This is what my current printer is doing when I try to print on these pre-perforated sheets:
The alignment gets worse from top to bottom
This is the left hand column of the last sheet I tried to print. I did have the sheet oriented properly in the printer.
The alignment in the upper left-hand corner is already off, but would be usable. The alignment gets worse from this corner outward.
And this (above) is the full sheet, with the alignment just degrading tag by tag and row by row. Below here is what it should look like:

I am using templates provided by the tag manufacturer, OnlineLabels(dot)com, and doing my formatting in Adobe Illustrator. My background is in graphic design, so I know my way around Illustrator pretty well; the alignment is properly formatted within the software (see above).
Printing from Illustrator vs. exporting to .pdf or other file doesn't appear to have any effect on print alignment. I did this successfully on a former printer, which was a Laser Jet M234dwe. Kinda wishing now I'd kept that printer >_>
I am not currently looking at any specific printer models. There are so many options and I don't have much recourse if a new printer still doesn't do what I need it to, so I wanted to seek advice from people who know more about this than I do. So hi : ) I plan to retain my current Epson, so I don't even care if the new printer is multifunction (ie scanning and whatnot) as long as it will allow me to print my hanging tags for work.

I'm not sure if this is super relevant to the current situation, I just miss that reliability and am currently very frustrated that I can't just do that right now ;_;

After negotiations, final price we agreed on was $49,900, for a total discount of $11,430.

Okay Bromos, I need some help.
How the hell do I get my kiddo to poop on the potty??
He's done it a few times. We've made it a whole thing where he gets the encouragement, stickers, a treat OR a prize (for the big ones) and it was going great... until it wasn't. Kiddo now claims to be terrified of the potty and refuses to poop on the toilet. Claims that pooping is going to hurt him.
The only way we've managed to get him to poop is in a diaper at night/morning. (Speaking of which, all night time potty training tips would be appreciated. We've done no fluids an houranging times before bedtime routine starts, we've tried night waking, kiddo still has accidents so we're in a pull up/diaper at night.) We've also tried early waking to beat the morning poop and have had no luck.
I have no idea where this thought of his came from as every time he pooped on the potty prior to this issue starting there were no complaints voiced and he was a pretty regular proper prior to potty training. He gets plenty of necessary nutrients and fluids that he isn't taking hard poops (sorry tmi 😂😮‍💨). He doesn't consume enough acidy things and doesn't eat spicy things to make that a concern. He doesn't watch any shows or consume any media in which this would have been a thought/issue, my husband and I have no bowel issues and no one we've come in contact with would have said anything of this regard to give him this idea.
No amount of reassurance works and I'm struggling. Husband isn't much help either in this.
He is 3 1/2. Is this normal?? Do I just need to wait longer and suck it up?? I was hoping to get him into Pre-K in the fall, but the school doesn't accept non-potty trained kiddos.
I'm just so tired of his room smelling horrendous every morning, and his jammies retain the smell so his sheets and jammies have to be changed basically daily at this point because otherwise everything just stinks. He does great during the day in undies with no accidents, he just struggles at night and with pooping.

Long story short , i used to work in the Pharmacy field for 7+ years and went into financial planning , mainly insurance .
My main clients have all been pharmacists for their disability insurance , but as of now with one of my providers , with those in residency , there's a 20% discount on own occupation disability policies .
I feel like not many residents know of this and I'm finding it difficult to get in touch with residency directors without knowing anyone .
Can anyone with any tips maybe give some advice ?

Wanted to share my experience doing crash course studying for 7 days and passing the SIE first attempt! I never post anything on here, but others posts made a big difference for me, so here goes!
TL;DR:
I passed my SIE yesterday after only 7 days of study. Intense! I used Pass Perfect, spent 50 hours studying total. If you only have a week or two before your test, DO NOT take a bunch of notes on everything! Read the content, take the quizzes and test, take notes on those answers and explanations!
VERY IMPORTANT: Use the two free Achievable SIE dump Sheets and watch both the S7g.u.r.u and S7 Whisperer 60 min crash course SIE YouTube videos the day before or day of test! I’ve included links at the bottom of this post. Be sure to memorize the dump sheet tricks and formulas, and decide what’s most important to reference. The test center gives you two laminated sheets and dry erase markers you can use as soon as the test timer starts. Be ready to write down key formulas, acronyms, timeframes, etc. Mine were the Options 4 square box, SLoBS & BLiSS, yield teeter totter and Key Open vs Closed end market notes. (All on the achievable dump sheets except Open/Closed Markets).
My Story:
In late April I was hired by Vanguard for a position starting May 28. I’d been a contractor doing customer service in an unlicensed VG position for about 10 months (no finance background before that); with the goal of getting hired in a licensed, permanent role within a year. I worked hard and got hired! The position requires SIE, S7 and S63. After my start date they pay me to do nothing but study and take exams for 9 or 13 weeks (depending on whether I’d passed the SIE prior to start date), which is awesome, but there’s a $5000 bonus if the SIE is passed at least a week before start date.
Note: I did have a little familiarity with basic terms and what’s required for account opening, due to my contractor position).
I originally scheduled my exam for May 13. I had about a month from hire date to May 13, and VG paid for the Pass Perfect course. I started some light studying the first week, thinking I had 3 more weeks and was on track. Then I got really sick for 2 weeks! I’m talking bed ridden, definitely no studying. So May 10 I rescheduled my exam to May 18! I had to pay $40 but figured it was well worth it not to fail, lol.
I was finally well enough to start studying on May 11, giving me 7 days. 😅 I had retained very little from my initial studying so I started over. I thought “I can do this!” I figured I’d had to do similar in college while working full time. Boy it was rough!
7 Days to PASS the SIE:
The first 3 days I had all day to study: Sat, Sun and Mon (had the day off for my original test date).
THE PLAN 41+ hours 5 practice tests, scoring at least 75%
Days 1-3 (full days) - 8+ hrs per day - Complete Pass Perfect Course (16 chapters) start to finish (reading and all quizzes, chapter tests)
Days 4-5 (Tues, Wed) - 5 hrs each day (2 before work and 3 after) - Take 1-2 Pass Perfect Final exams (1 hr 45 min each) each day, taking time to focus/take notes on anything I missed - Goal of 4 total tests, with 75% or higher on 3
Day 6 (Friday, day before the test) - 5 hours (2 hrs before work, 3 hours after) - Take 1 FINRA practice SIE exam before work (free on FINRA website) - after work, Review all Difficult Topics - Listen to S7g.u.r.u & S7 whisperer on YouTube. (They each have a 60 minute crash course review, recommended for day before or day of test). - Print out Achievable Dump Sheets - add my own notes to dump sheets
Day 7 (Day of Test) Test scheduled for 2pm (1:30 registration) - 2 hours Notes and Dump Sheets Review in morning - Leave for Test at 11:30, arrive 12:30 (45 min drive) - One last Review of Dump Sheets for 45 min, take a break before registration
Great Plan Right?! Wellll, I didn’t quite stick to it. 🤣
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED: 52 Hours Study - Not at the planned pace! 4 Practice Finals (71% average) A lot of tears, anxiety and stress!😫 A rollercoaster of Self-doubt and Self-Confidence
Day 1 (Sat): 7 hrs Completed first 3 chapters, taking tons of notes on a Google doc, color coded and highlighted. I’ll do more tomorrow I thought, my brain is fried
Day 2 (Sun): 10 hours Completed chapters 4&5 again taking tons (too many) notes, taking quizzes and Tests multiple times, worried I wasn’t getting the concepts and terms well enough. Getting really worried about my pace now, but “hey I have tomorrow. I’ll crush it and catch up”. Maybe I won’t get to tests until Thurs, but I’ll be okay..
Day 3 (Mon): 7 hrs (I was exhausted and burnt out, still not 100% from being sick) Chapter 6 OPTIONS… the death of me, soooo much to learn. Barely got through chapter 6. Full panic has now set in! I have to work full time the next 4 days! If the rest of the course is this hard, I’m screwed. There goes my bonus, how will I tell my husband? (He would not have been mad but I would feel terrible). “Children and husband, do not bother me! I need to focus!” 😅
Day 4 (Tues): 6 hrs ( 6pm-12am) Intense panic and anxiety, how the hell am I going to finish?! Screw notes, get through the chapters! Completed chapters 7-10 Whew, these chapters weren’t as bad, maybe it’s getting easier. I think I remember a good amount. Better wrap this up tomorrow!
Day 5 (Wed): 5 hrs Very worried, but I’ll finish today and take lots of tests the next 2 days! Completed chapters 11-13 😫 OMG I’m still not done with the course and I have 2 days left! I must sleep.
Day 6 (Thurs): 6 hrs in the evening - Completed remaining chapters 14-16, course done 8pm. Whew, content done. Worried about not taking any tests yet, but at least I feel like I know the content decently! Took my first Pass Perfect Test, score 71% not as bad as I thought but that’s not a lot of margin for error! (Need 70% to Pass actual SIE test). At that point I’m calculating how much each point is worth, looking up suggestions online and praying, lol 🙏
Day 7 (Fri): 7 hrs Took 2 Pass Perfect tests, reviewed missed answers carefully and took notes. Scores: 71% and 73%. Took FINRA SIE test (on their website), 69%. Omg I’m gonna fail tomorrow. 🥺
Friday night I thought “Hmm Maybe I can reschedule for Monday (the deadline to pass for bonus). Two more days and I will be ready!” So I go to the Prometrics website and try to reschedule, seeing one slot for Monday at a site 2 hrs away… awesome.. NOPE, NOT ALLOWED less than 3 days before scheduled exam! (Why did I not think of this Tuesday?) 🙄 So I called customer service, begged and told them I had been sick.. Since they said I could not reschedule the day before the test, I asked if they could cancel it and schedule a new appt for Monday? DENIED. So I took a deep breath, cried a little and came to terms with it. This test is happening, tomorrow. 😫 🤬
Friday night 9pm: As recommended by colleagues and online forums, I listen to S7 whisperer 60 min crash course on YouTube; no notes, listening in bed). Ok, learned some things, great overview/review. Maybe I can pull this off afterall. 🤔 Things are looking up. 😊
Saturday, May 13… Day of Test (2-4pm)
7am woke up, ate a good breakfast, prepared everything I needed to take and do. Now what? Should I take another practice test? Review my notes? Listen to video? I decided no more tests, I’ll listen to the other crash course (S7g.u.r.u 60 min crash course on YouTube). 🤞
8am—11:30 Crunch time. Im determined to pass this exam!! Spent 3 hours listening to the 60 min S7g.u.r.u video, pausing when needed, replaying as needed. Took 11 pages of color coded notes on the most important points and formulas I needed to remember, mainly on Regulations (what market does it impact, what type of product, who, timeframes). I knew this was going to be at least 15% of test (I was right) and these were the main questions I missed on my Practice Finals
11:30am Renewed Faith 🙌 DAMN I learned a LOT. I’m gonna pass this thing! I was already getting low 70s on Thursday practice tests and I KNOW I learned enough from the video to pass several more questions. S7g.u.r.u literally saved me, pulling it all together in my mind! 🤯
12pm Went to UPS store, printed the 2 Achievable dump sheets and my 11 pages of notes from the video! I scanned them at every red light on the way 😂
12:59 arrived at test center. Spent 20 minutes reviewing dump sheets and drilling in my mind what to put on the 2 pages they give me for notes (specifically below and in links)
1:20 walk in, first one there.. registration complete at 1:35. To my surprise, they seat me and I can start test immediately!
As soon as the timer started my hands were flying on the 2 laminated sheets they gave me. I spent the first 15 min vigorously writing out things I wanted to reference. 90 minutes left for 85 questions. Watched the timer closely to stay on pace. Used the notepad on the test platform for each question to write out calculations, or break down what each part of the question meant, used critical thinking for answer, marking questions for review when I was stuck between 2 answers. Most importantly, I followed my gut. I knew this stuff! Used calculator for EVERY calculation, even easy ones. Finished all questions with 5 minutes remaining. Reviewed marked questions and changed only 3, if I was SURE my original answer was wrong.
I hit Sum it and hold my breath. 🫢 OMG, does that say PASS?!!! Yes, I actually Passed! 😳 I cried out of happiness and relief, was on cloud 9. I will never cram like this again! S7 and S63 will be better, lol.
SO here’s how you can have a better experience than me if you’re a week or two away and wondering how you can possibly pull this off. YOU CAN DO IT! 💪
TIPS FOR CRASH SIE STUDYING (learn from my mistakes)
1 NOTE TAKING: I’ve always learned best by taking a ton of notes, color coded on a google doc. Taking notes reinforces it in my brain and helps me find ways to remember it for myself. However, if you are crash course Studying for the SIE, you do NOT have time to do this, lol. Honestly I barely looked at those notes in the end.
TIP: Read through the content quickly and only take notes when it tells you it’s likely a testable question! Take all quizzes and tests, REVIEW the quiz/test answers (in PP the answers also give you a brief explanation of the concept) and take light notes on that! Do NOT replace reading with the videos! The first 4 chapters I tried to save time doing this and wondered why I was failing the chapter tests. The reading content had way more info than the video! Don’t shoot yourself in the foot!
2 DON’T SPEND TOO MUCH TIME on EARLY CONCEPTS! The earlier (and for the most part, less valuable - less test questions) content will be reinforced throughout course. Most of the concepts build over the course, so the basics are reinforced later anyway. I wasted several hours!
3 EXPECT 20-25 hours are needed to complete the course/learn the concepts! Give yourself a day on REGULATIONS and 5 hours on OPTIONS , these comprised a LOT of questions on the test, could make or break you!
4 TAKE at least 4 PRACTICE FINALS with a goal of 75%, but if you’re not improving, use the crash course Videos, learn the content! Don’t take 5 more tests in lieu of learning!
5 SPEND A FEW HOURS on (free) ACHIEVABLE DUMP SHEETS and S7g.u.r.u & S7 Whisperer crash course review videos on YouTube! I would not have passed without these! Reviewing them for 4 hours and using them for key points on my tests sheets saved my ass!
