2024.06.02 15:36 Papagayo_blanco On 5/2/24, I weighed 325.5. Today, 6/2/24, 299.7. ~26lb lost in 30 Days

A little bit about how I've approached this, in case it helps someone.
I am 37, male, 6'0"
One MAJOR mindset change I adopted is that Food=Fuel and nothing else. I enjoyed food SO MUCH that I became vastly overweight. Now, I need to forego the 'pleasure' of a pleased tongue. I do not and will not have cheat days and I don't look for Keto deserts. For the same reason you don't buy an alcoholic a beer, I'll be damned if I'm going to tempt myself with failure with a vice that has wrecked my health.
For the first 10 days, all I focused on was carbs and getting under 20g/day. No calorie count. No other macros. Just getting used to No bread, sugar, etc.
From then, I found Cronometer and started counting every single calorie and gram of carb, protein, and fat. The initial plan was under 1500 kcal, but I've landed at averaging about 1000 kcal, 90g protein, 10g carb, 65g fat.
For breakfast and lunch. I drink my version of bulletproof coffee (8oz, 1/2 tbsp butter, 1/2 tbsp coconut oil, 1g sucralose) along with 4oz of unsweetened almond milk mixed with 1 tbsp isolate protein (Body Fortress).
I also take Calc/Zinc/Mag, MCT Oil capsule, Vitamins B/D/E, Flaxseed Oil, and L-Lysine every morning.
Sometimes if I'm hungrier at lunch, I'll throw down some tuna or sautéed chicken breast or some version of high protein, no-to-low carb.
Dinner is where I'll get in my greens (spinach, brocoli, avocado, green beans, whatever) and include protein. If a salad, then I use No Sugar Poppyseed dressing.
I've cut out almost all dairy. I find my gut health feels better since I've stopped with cheeses and whatnot. I'll still eat a bit here and there, but no more than once a week since cutting it out.
30 days. 26lbs down. Around 75ish to go, depending on what getting to the gym holds for me. I figure if I was to build the type of physique I want, it's probably easiest to get there when I have extra fuel on board.

2024.06.02 12:26 Mugashiki My first attempt at making Oak Cake Rolls, with a side of Firefly Jelly/Gulaman

My first attempt at making Oak Cake Rolls, with a side of Firefly Jelly/Gulaman
So Oak Cake Rolls are actually just Baumkuchen, I found a website/yt video on how to make it.
Website
I modify the recipe a bit by adding cocoa powder for the brown parts of it
My main problem is my lacking of cooking skills, and the lack of a crepe pan.
After this attempt, I came to the realization to just buy pancake mix and cocoa powder rather than following the exact recipe, and I need a crepe.
But I'll say this, despite my problems, the final product is delicious. Technically a problem cause lorewise it shouldn't be that good.
As for the Firefly jelly/gulaman, sprite, blue food coloring, and jelly powder.
However I ended up putting too much food coloring so now the color is darker than it should be.
If there's anyone who wants to make it as well, please show me your work too, or maybe some advice to make it better. I'll try making it again another time.

Carrying firearms in different settings can be a challenge, but with the IWB Holster Mount Single, you can safely and securely transition from on-body to in-vehicle or at work while keeping your holster and firearm easily accessible. Its lightweight and dual locking design enables comfortable carrying, whether it's by your side, in the car, or tucked away for a nighttime solution. You won't have to worry about exposed triggers, unsecured firearms, or scratched pistols; the IWB Holster Mount ensures your holster and firearm are secure and well-protected without compromising your draw.
The product boasts two unique mounting methods, allowing it to be attached to any flat surface with minimal hassle. Say goodbye to loose-fitting gun mounts requiring the removal of your holster, and enjoy peace of mind knowing you can stay safe and secure by going from on-body carry to IWB Holster Mount and vice versa. With various options for daily carry, this mount is a versatile and reliable solution for your firearm storage needs.
While the product offers great benefits, it also comes with a few considerations. Make sure to secure your holster properly before transitioning from on-body to off-body carry, to ensure a snug and secure fit. Some users have reported a slight challenge when trying to transition holsters with different manufacturers' clips between the mount and the holster, so always double-check compatibility before attempting the switch.
Overall, the IWB Holster Mount Single is a well-thought-out and practical solution for firearm carrying needs in various environments. Its lightweight design, ease of use, and secure locking mechanism make it a standout option for those seeking a reliable and comfortable way to store and access their holster and firearm.

🔗Custom-Fit Dashboard Holster for Concealed Carry

https://preview.redd.it/xkgus6v7l44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80aaf337a90dcccaaa06c794fd4ea6c950a1cabb
As a concealed carrier, I've tried several pocket holsters, but the Vedder Holsters Pocket Locker takes the cake. It's comfortable, custom-molded to fit my specific gun, and offers three different ways to draw it. I appreciate the Kydex design that ensures a snug fit without causing any print, but some users might prefer a more minimalist approach.
One downside is the thumb tab, which a few users find laborious. While it does help with the un-holstering process, there are alternative options out there that might be more accessible for some users. Also, some customers experienced delays in shipping, so it's crucial to check the status beforehand.
In summary, the Vedder Holsters Pocket Locker offers a streamlined, customizable concealed carry solution for pocket pistols. It's comfortable, retains your weapon securely, and blends seamlessly into the front pocket of your pants. Just make sure to be mindful of the thumb tab and the potential shipping times.

🔗Alien Gear ShapeShift: Concealed Carry Holster with Gripping Power and Adjustable Retention

https://preview.redd.it/omsl4vl8l44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e533d7c563c37e178e92a9cdf79712e2c3b40ff8
As someone who has been actively seeking a reliable appendix holster for daily carry, the Alien Gear ShapeShift Appendix Carry Holster has been a game-changer. The breathable perforated neoprene base that sits against your body is incredibly comfortable, and the Alien Skin material grips the firearm so securely that any possibility of sliding is eliminated.
The passive retention system can be customized to suit my preferences, giving me a sense of control over the holster's overall functionality. Although it's a bit lighter than what I was accustomed to, the holster's overall weight is reassuringly minimal.
While this holster has been a boon to my daily carry needs, I must admit that the single mounting point does not provide the same level of stability that I had experienced with other holsters. However, considering the holster's other features, this is a small trade-off for the comfort and flexibility it offers. Overall, the Alien Gear ShapeShift Appendix Carry Holster has become my go-to for concealed carry, providing both security and comfort in one sleek package.

🔗Car Dashboard HUD Phone Holder: Secure and Adjustable

https://preview.redd.it/u7xjv8s9l44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4386c3edc6c35c02edc332adf8e9eab5a7cee4c6
When it comes to having a seamless phone experience in the car, this dashboard phone holder is the way to go. The dual-clip design allows you to attach it easily to your car's dashboard with minimal effort. But the best part is its adjustable angle, giving you full control over the angle you desire while keeping your phone within easy reach. The one-touch operation is hassle-free, and the non-slip silicone gel ensures both your phone and car stay safe.
However, there are a few cons to consider. Some users have reported that the grip is not as strong as they hoped, causing their phone to slide around. Additionally, the design might not work for all car models, as visors and air vents were problematic for some reviewers. Despite these drawbacks, overall, this dashboard phone holder does its job pretty well and is worth giving a try.

🔗Adjustable Windshield Dash Mount for Smartphones

https://preview.redd.it/jalql66al44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7bea965375f0051c2c0efa7a272d6cfcc4161096
Imagine yourself on a long road trip, and your smartphone is your trusty companion, providing you with navigation, music, and more. However, you can't quite seem to get a good grip on your phone while driving. Enter the Urban Beatz Extendable Windshield Dash Mount Travel Smartphone Holder. This ingenious device was my saving grace when I found myself struggling to safely use my phone during a recent car journey.
One of the first things I noticed about this smartphone holder was its versatility. With a 360-degree rotating mechanism, I could easily adjust the angle and length of the mount to fit perfectly on my dashboard, ensuring that my phone remained securely in place. The extendable feature was particularly useful, as it allowed me to achieve the optimal viewing angle without obstructing my visibility.
The holder also accommodated my smartphone with ease, fitting devices up to 3.5 inches in size. It's a relief to know that I won't have to struggle to place my device in the mount. The combination of its adjustability and size compatibility made this smartphone holder invaluable for my travels.
However, there were a few inconveniences I encountered as well. Although the holder is made of high-quality materials, the mount did not feel as sturdy as I would have hoped. This led to a slight fear that the holder might slip off the dashboard, potentially causing damage to both my phone and car.
Despite its minor drawbacks, the Urban Beatz Extendable Windshield Dash Mount Travel Smartphone Holder has become an essential tool for me during my road trips. Its convenience and adaptability make it a must-have for any traveler who relies on their smartphone for navigation and entertainment.

🔗Evergreen Dash/Window Phone Mount for Ultimate Car Navigation

https://preview.redd.it/ip3gapwal44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1eecdc0e7b47680b263085272420fd0c4dc4c301
I've been using Heyday's Car Mount for quite some time, and I must say, it's been a mixed experience. The mount itself comes with an attractive, evergreen green color that adds a stylish accent to my car. One of the coolest features is its adjustable arms, which are compatible with most smartphones, saving me time while getting ready to use my phone for maps, music, and other applications.
However, I've encountered a few challenges with this mount. First and foremost, I've found that it lacks the durability that I would expect from a product in its price range. The adhesive base, although secure initially, has shown signs of losing its grip over time, which can be inconvenient when I need to pull it off for cleaning or repositioning. Furthermore, I've noticed that the mount's arm movement can be somewhat restrictive, especially when I'm attempting to use it for a phone with a thicker case. It could be frustrating to some users but it didn't bother me too much.
Still, despite its shortcomings, I've grown accustomed to it and have even come to appreciate its simple yet effective design. The Heyday Car Mount may not be perfect, but it certainly gets the job done when I need it to. If you're in the market for a reasonably priced, attractively designed car mount, this could be a good option to consider.

Charge your phone and stay hands-free while driving with the Heyday Dash/Window Car Mount with Integrated 10W Qi Charger. This sleek black and gold mount attaches to your car's dash or window via suction cups, allowing you to place it wherever is most convenient for you. The mount comes equipped with a USB-C cable and a car charging adapter, making it easy for you to connect your phone to the power source.
One of the unique features of this mount is the integrated 10W Qi Charger, designed especially for Qi-enabled smartphones. This means that your phone will charge wirelessly while it's securely held in place by the mount. You can then use your phone for GPS navigation, hands-free calls, or any other functions without worrying about your phone's battery life.
The suction cup mount is user-friendly and has a solid hold on various surfaces, making it a versatile option for different types of vehicles. It is adaptable to the window or dash, giving you the flexibility to place it wherever you need it. However, some users have reported issues with the adhesive, such as it coming off the windshield or dashboard after a short period.
Overall, the Heyday Dash/Window Car Mount with Integrated 10W Qi Charger is a helpful and convenient accessory for any driver looking to charge their phone on the go. While there have been some concerns regarding the mount's adhesive, the majority of reviews praise its ease of use, charging capabilities, and stylish appearance.

As a busy city dweller, I was always on the lookout for a reliable hands-free solution for my daily commute. That's when the Bestrix Phone Mount caught my attention with its unique features and reasonable price. I decided to give it a try and see how long it would hold up to my active lifestyle.
The first thing that stood out to me was its compatibility with various phone cases and sizes, an essential feature for someone like me who switches between different devices frequently. The Enhanced Suction Cup proved to be an excellent choice, as it held firm on my car's dashboard even during sudden stops, turns, or bumpy roads.
What truly impressed me, however, was the Double Lock System. This ingenious feature added an extra layer of security, ensuring that my phone would stay in place even while navigating through winding city streets. Plus, the convenience of being able to wash and reuse the suction cup for Samsung and iPhone holders was a game-changer.
Despite being so sturdy, the phone mount didn't take up too much space on my dashboard, making it a perfect fit for both large and small cars. It was simple to install and remove, making it the perfect car accessory for any driver.
While I couldn't find any significant design flaws in this product, I did notice that it wasn't water-resistant, which might be an issue for those living in areas with heavy rainfall or snow. Nonetheless, overall, I was satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend the Bestrix Phone Mount for car enthusiasts.

🔗Secure Rotating Belt Clip Holster for Sonim XP5s and XP5800

https://preview.redd.it/dbv3alqcl44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=22dc3092fa1c51b8da42b8c0e4dc765e311c74c2
The BELTRON Belt Clip Holster I've been using with my Sonim XP5S has been a game changer for me. The secure fit and quick release latch have been a lifesaver, especially when I need to take calls or switch hands quickly. The custom design, with openings for easy access, is a major highlight.
However, one downside I've found is that the holster doesn't rotate 180 degrees as advertised, so it's more limited in its versatility. Another minuscule issue is that the kicking stand doesn't hold the phone perfectly vertical, which might be bothersome for some users.
Overall, this BELTRON Belt Clip Holster has made my life easier and more efficient, especially in my busy daily life. Despite the minor drawbacks, I'm happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this product to others in need of a reliable and easy-to-use belt clip for their Sonim XP5S device.

🔗Tech Holster: Reliable Outdoor Device Securement

https://preview.redd.it/medk30ldl44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c2dff24317bf3014646bfc1587eabea0fe4679c
When I strapped on the Tech Holster Ponderosa, I was eager to test its capabilities during my outdoor adventures. Right off the bat, I liked how compact it was, making it an easy addition to my existing gear setup. I found that it's versatile in terms of attachment options, thanks to the MOLLE attachment system and the velcro straps.
The zippered pocket was perfect for securing my device, offering a watertight solution to keep my tech safe during rainy days. However, I had a little trouble when trying to access the front pocket, as it was a bit difficult to open and close single-handedly, especially with larger equipment.
The main pocket was where I faced some of my biggest challenges, as my phone with an Otterbox case barely fit inside. The tight fit made it challenging to remove or insert my device when needed, and I couldn't help but feel that a slightly larger design could have solved this problem.
Despite the challenges I encountered, I found the Tech Holster Ponderosa to be a useful and versatile accessory in my outdoor pursuits. However, it could have been a little more thoughtfully designed in terms of size and pocket layout. Still, overall, I appreciated its convenience and effectiveness during my various excursions.

🔗Intelligent Dashboard Storage for Charging and Storing Smartphones and Driving Essentials

Imagine you're on a road trip, and you need a solution that allows you to keep your phone within reach while also providing a convenient storage spot for essentials like sunglasses, pens, or even a tire gauge. That's where the High Road Ultra DriverPockets comes in handy.
From the moment I installed it on my air vent, I was impressed with how well it fit and held firm without obstructing the airflow. The soft-lined pockets offer gentle protection for your phone, whereas the elastic hanging loops on both sides are a game-changer, giving you an easy-to-reach spot for your sunglasses or a pen.
The most innovative feature is the rubber cord port at the back that conveniently lets you plug in your charging cable, keeping your phone safe and powered up simultaneously. The versatility of this holder makes it suitable for both small and large smartphones.
Of course, no product is perfect. Although the High Road Ultra DriverPockets does an excellent job in most situations, it might be a bit challenging to set up in some cases, and it doesn't work well with every air vent. Additionally, some users might find it a bit small for their needs.
Overall, the High Road Ultra DriverPockets air vent car phone holder is a nifty solution for drivers looking to keep their essentials close by while on the go. Its thoughtful design and convenient features make it worth considering—just remember to keep your expectations in check!

Driving around with my phone securely nestled in my truck's dashboard is such a game-changer, and the ProClip USA Center Dash Mount made it happen. Custom-made for my 2013 RAM truck, it's a perfect fit. The mount snuggles into those seams like it was made just for me. I don't have to worry about drilling any holes or taking apart my dashboard—a massive plus!
Using it with their suggested ProClip device holder, I can mount my phone or GPS onto the dashboard. It's so secure; even on those bumpy gravel roads, my phone stays put. And the best part? No industrial-looking mounts or clunky suction cups—just sleek and sturdy.
One minor downside is that I had to consider the device's orientation, making sure it doesn't interfere with other vehicle functions. But overall, it's an excellent solution for someone looking for a hassle-free, sturdy way to mount a device in their truck. Highly recommended!

As a mobile user, I found the iOttie Easy One Touch 4 car mount to be a game-changer in my daily life. The product not only offered convenience, but also added a sense of security to my drives.
Upon first use, the "Easy One Touch" feature was precisely that - easily. With just one press, the mount securely wrapped around my phone and the adjustable Telescopic Arm conveniently adjusted the viewing angle. iOttie's sturdy and reusable suction cup installed effortlessly onto my car's dashboard or windshield, allowing me to appreciate the flexibility of placement.
The product's versatility was also noteworthy. The compatibility with smartphones and cases up to 3.5 inches in width ensured that my phone fit perfectly. However, the slightly obstructed windshield view, due to the mount's design, was a minor inconvenience.
Overall, the iOttie Easy One Touch 4 Dashboard & Windshield Car Mount Holder was an excellent addition to my car. It combined ease of use, durability, and flexibility. In summary, this smartphone holder proved to be a reliable and versatile solution for seamless and safe driving.

My Top Nootropic Breakfast Ingredients : Eggs, Salmon, Vegetable-Based Protein Shakes, Yogurt with Berries, Healthy Oils, Nuts, Nut Butters, Whey Protein, and Coffee!
Starting your day with a nootropic breakfast can be a game-changer for your brain health and productivity. Nootropic foods are known for their ability to enhance cognitive function, memory, creativity, and motivation. The right combination of nutrients can give your brain the boost it needs to tackle the day's challenges.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and choosing foods that support brain function is crucial. As a brain health and nootropics enthusiast, I put huge emphasis on a nutritious breakfast that can improve focus, reduce fatigue, and help maintain steady energy levels throughout the day.
So, decided to put this post on best nootropic ingredients that can turn your breakfast into a brain-boosting powerhouse. From the incredible benefits of eggs and salmon to the advantages of vegetable-based protein shakes and yogurt with berries, you'll discover how to start your day on the right note.

1. Eggs & Salmon: The Ultimate Nootropic Duo

Eggs: A Powerhouse of Nutrients
When it comes to nootropic foods, eggs are hard to beat. They're packed with choline, a nutrient that's essential for brain function. Choline helps produce acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in memory and learning. Including eggs in your breakfast can help improve cognitive performance and keep your mind sharp.
https://preview.redd.it/ptl4aft6k44d1.png?width=752&format=png&auto=webp&s=0ded262fab31add99170f7328cf1a8ede75f2535
Eggs are also rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, antioxidants that support eye health and cognitive function. These nutrients protect the eyes from harmful light and oxidative stress, which can have positive effects on brain health.
Plus, eggs provide high-quality protein and healthy fats, giving you sustained energy and keeping you full throughout the morning.
Salmon: Brain-Boosting Benefits
Salmon is another superstar when it comes to nootropic foods. It's loaded with EPA and DHA, omega-3 fatty acids that are crucial for brain health.
These fatty acids help reduce inflammation, improve blood flow to the brain, and support the structure of brain cells. Regular consumption of salmon can enhance cognitive function, memory, and mood.
In addition to omega-3s, salmon contains astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant that protects brain cells from damage. This carotenoid has been shown to improve cognitive function and support overall brain health. S
almon is also a great source of vitamins B6, B9, and B12, which are vital for cognitive and neurological support. These vitamins play a key role in producing neurotransmitters and maintaining healthy brain function.
Combining eggs and salmon in your breakfast gives you a powerhouse of nutrients that can supercharge your brain. Whether you prefer a smoked salmon omelet or scrambled eggs with a side of grilled salmon, this duo is a delicious and effective way to start your day.

2. Vegetable-Based Protein Shake

A vegetable-based protein shake is an excellent choice for a nootropic breakfast, offering numerous benefits for brain health and overall well-being. Whether you're vegan, lactose intolerant, or simply looking for a light and nutritious breakfast option, a veggie protein shake can fit the bill perfectly.
Benefits of vegetable-based protein for brain health
Vegetable-based proteins, like pea protein, are packed with essential amino acids that are crucial for brain function. These proteins help produce neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that transmit signals in the brain.
By supporting neurotransmitter production, vegetable-based proteins can improve cognitive function, enhance memory, and boost mood.
Additionally, plant-based proteins are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. These nutrients protect the brain from oxidative stress and inflammation, which are linked to cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases.
Incorporating a vegetable-based protein shake into your breakfast routine can help maintain brain health and support long-term cognitive function.
Gentle on the stomach: Suitable for sensitive digestion
One of the biggest advantages of vegetable-based protein shakes is that they're gentle on the stomach. Many people find that plant-based proteins are easier to digest than animal-based proteins, making them an excellent option for those with sensitive stomachs or digestive issues.
A veggie protein shake can provide the necessary nutrients without causing discomfort or bloating, allowing you to start your day feeling light and energized.
Recommended ingredients: Spinach, kale, and pea protein
To make a brain-boosting vegetable-based protein shake, consider including the following ingredients:
· Spinach: This leafy green is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as folate and iron. Spinach supports brain health by improving blood flow and protecting against oxidative stress.
· Kale: Another nutrient-dense leafy green, kale is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It's particularly high in vitamin K, which is essential for cognitive function and brain health.
· Pea protein: This high-quality plant-based protein is a great source of essential amino acids. Pea protein is easily digestible and helps build and repair tissues, including those in the brain.
Blending these ingredients with a liquid base like almond milk or coconut water can create a delicious and nutritious shake. You can also add a handful of berries for extra antioxidants and a touch of sweetness. A vegetable-based protein shake is a convenient and effective way to fuel your brain and body first thing in the morning.

3. Yogurt with Blueberries/Strawberries

Yourt with blueberries or strawberries into your breakfast can be a delicious and effective way to boost your brain health. This combination not only tastes great but also provides a wealth of nutrients that support cognitive function and overall well-being.

Yogurt: A Gut-Friendly Option

Yogurt is an excellent choice for a nootropic breakfast, particularly due to its probiotics. These beneficial bacteria play a crucial role in maintaining gut health, which is directly linked to brain health through the gut-brain axis.
A healthy gut can lead to improved mood, better focus, and reduced anxiety. By including yogurt in your breakfast, you're supporting both your digestive system and your brain.
Yogurt is also high in protein and calcium. The protein content helps keep you full and energized throughout the morning, while calcium is essential for healthy nerve function. Together, these nutrients provide a solid foundation for a productive day, helping you stay focused and alert.

Blueberries/Strawberries: Antioxidant Powerhouses

Adding blueberries or strawberries to your yogurt is a smart move for brain health. These berries are rich in antioxidants, which help protect brain cells from oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can lead to cognitive decline and other neurological issues, so it's important to include antioxidant-rich foods in your diet.
Blueberries and strawberries are particularly high in anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant with powerful cognitive benefits. Anthocyanins have been shown to improve memory, enhance cognitive function, and reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.
By including these berries in your breakfast, you're giving your brain a significant boost.
Combining yogurt with blueberries or strawberries creates a nutrient-dense, gut-friendly, and brain-boosting breakfast. It's an easy and delicious way to start your day, providing you with the necessary nutrients to stay sharp and focused.
Plus, this combination is versatile – you can add other fruits, nuts, or seeds to customize it to your taste and nutritional needs.

4. Impact Whey Protein

Impact Whey Protein is an excellent addition to your breakfast, especially if you're looking for a convenient and effective way to boost your protein intake. It's a top choice for those seeking to enhance brain health and overall fitness.
High-quality protein source
Impact Whey Protein is a high-quality protein source, providing all the essential amino acids your body needs. These amino acids are crucial for building and repairing tissues, including those in the brain. By supporting the production of neurotransmitters, whey protein can help improve cognitive function and mental clarity.
Stimulates protein synthesis
One of the standout benefits of Impact Whey Protein is its ability to stimulate protein synthesis. This process is vital for muscle recovery and growth, but it's also essential for maintaining healthy brain cells. Regular consumption of whey protein can help support brain health by ensuring that your body has the necessary building blocks for optimal function.
Easy to digest and incorporate into meals
Impact Whey Protein is also easy to digest, making it an excellent option for those with sensitive stomachs. It mixes well with various liquids and foods, allowing for seamless incorporation into your breakfast. You can blend it into smoothies, stir it into oatmeal, or even add it to pancake batter for a protein-packed start to your day.
Including Impact Whey Protein in your breakfast routine is a simple and effective way to ensure you're getting high-quality protein that supports brain health and overall wellness. Its ease of use and digestibility make it a convenient choice for anyone looking to enhance their morning nutrition.

5. Coffee: Instant Espresso and Bulletproof Coffee

Starting your day with a cup of coffee can provide the perfect boost for mental alertness and cognitive function. Whether you prefer the convenience of instant espresso or the sustained energy of bulletproof coffee, both options offer unique benefits for brain health.

Instant Espresso

Instant espresso is an excellent choice for a quick caffeine boost, helping to enhance mental alertness and focus almost immediately. The caffeine in coffee acts as a stimulant, increasing neurotransmitter activity in the brain. This leads to improved concentration, quicker reaction times, and a boost in overall cognitive performance.
Moreover, coffee is rich in antioxidants, which help protect the brain from oxidative stress and inflammation. These antioxidants, such as chlorogenic acid, can improve brain health by reducing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases and supporting long-term cognitive function. With instant espresso, you get a fast and convenient way to kickstart your brain and body.

Bulletproof Coffee

Bulletproof coffee is a popular option for those looking for sustained energy without the crash often associated with regular coffee. This coffee is made by blending high-quality coffee with MCT oil and butter. The MCT oil provides medium-chain triglycerides, which are quickly converted into ketones, an efficient energy source for the brain.
The combination of caffeine and healthy fats in bulletproof coffee offers several cognitive benefits. The caffeine stimulates brain function, while the healthy fats ensure a steady release of energy, preventing the mid-morning energy slump. This sustained energy can help you stay focused and productive for longer periods.
Bulletproof coffee also supports brain health through the presence of healthy fats, which are crucial for maintaining cell membrane integrity and promoting efficient neural communication.

2024.06.02 10:32 MilkyWay0_0 Glue seepage methods and results - Thoughts on WD-40

Hi hi! I've been doing some research on the glue seepage issue and the best products/methods that could be used to tackle this problem. Here are some methods I've tried:
Baby powder: Very messy, took a lot of time and not really worth in my opinion with the powder residue in the hair. Not the biggest fan of the hair texture after the method.
Baking soda mixed with coconut oil: Difficult to get out and also messy. A lot of dish soap trying to get the oil out. Moderate success.
Tea tree oil: Quite a strong smell, can be expensive. Moderate success.
Oxi powder: It didn't always work. Fine for removing the glue inside the head.
Baby oil: Just tried it with a doll and I'm pretty surprised with the results. Gonna try it with some others. Washing it out atleast 3x with dish soap to remove the oil.
WD-40: Used it recently and the results are too amazing tbh. I spray a bit on the scalp and through the hair and massage it a bit. After 5 minutes I wash it out thoroughly by using dish soap (also scrubbing the scalp with a toothbrush and dish soap). Removed all of the glue and the hair has never been better.
Here were some of the products and methods I used. I've been reading about WD-40 being bad for the vinyl and I was wondering if anyone could give me more information about this. Also if anyone's doll got ruined by using WD-40 I would've loved to get some pictures of the doll and the steps you took when you've used WD-40.
Thnx for reading!

2024.06.02 10:27 Oiru Tala - May 2024

Tala - May 2024
Last week, I had the pleasure of trying Tala the other night after seeing some recommendations from Logical-Pie-798 in that "Las Vegas foodie tourist" thread a few months ago.
I have kept it in mind for a while and since I made a foodie friend who was visiting Auckland from her hometown in Utah (who I have now learnt has a large Samoan population). I suggested trying Tala because I have no other friends that would want to pay so much for a meal lol.
We both had the $215 The Chef’s Journey menu. I have never had Samoan food before, and my foodie friend stated she has had only some Samoan food before.
Anyway, similarly to my previous Paris Butter post, I will give a brief rating on the food purely based on the flavours I enjoyed (or not) given my palate, and the comments are purely on taste alone unless stated otherwise, but I might provide some extra commentary which plays into my overall experience.
I'm going to be honest based on my experience. If I haven't commented on something, it's because it was forgettable, and I didn't bother writing notes about it.
If you went to Pasture when it previously operated, you'll recognise the location. Tala is located in the rear part of the old Pasture that you move to for the second stage of that dinner.
  • Welcome drink: fermented dragonfruit, pineapple, and hibiscus tea. Excellent start to the meal. This was basically a mocktail. The bartender, Mangesh, definitely knows how to start off a meal.
  • Seasonal fruits served with coconut foam
  1. Cucumber with powdered plum: I'm not sure what this was about. The cucumber was slightly pickled, I think. Gonna be a no from me.
  2. Apple and sumac: Same comment as above.
  3. Pineapple steeped in vanilla syrup: Perfect sweetness and flavour combination that complimented the unsweetened coconut foam (which I wish was slightly sweetened). Simple flavours, but so beautifully well done, I asked for more. 7.5-8/10. What can I say? I like both pineapple and vanilla, and both components were quality
  • Snacks
  1. Banana chip
  2. Taro chip
  3. Raw ramen: really salty sauce on it
  • Kaleve: Prawn head stuffed with daikon and chives with prawn head gravy. The flavour of the prawn itself was quite nice from the flame/charcoal grill-like flavour, probably from the hearth. However, this made it a bit rubbery. Interestingly, the prawn is deshelled for you but not deveined. I liked the inclusion of eating/sucking the inside of the prawn head, which many Western cultures don't follow.
  • Oka: Raw salmon, yoghurt, and cucumber on a fried rice paper cracker.
  • Palusami: Deep-fried palusami ball with spinach and coconut cream. This dish was really simple, and I believe this version had no meat in it(?), yet it was still surprisingly delicious. 6.5-7/10
  • Kale I’a: Fish curry with chickpea, white sesame sauce, paprika oil, and snapper. My fish was overcooked and tough, but my friend's was apparently cooked to her liking. It's memorable and funny because we both had snapper and tarakihi (no chips) for lunch that day from Marsic Fish Shop, and I said the snapper was cooked better at the fish and chip shop, while she said it was cooked worse than at Tala.
  • Vaipala mocktail(?): fermented dragonfruit, pineapple. This was comped due to Logical-Pie-798 letting Chef Henry know I was coming that night. It's the first time ever something was comped for me, and I really appreciated it as I didn't think I'd actually be offered anything nor did I expect it! Excellent flavour profile and is honestly really up there in quality. I was a bit confused though, as Mangesh explained that it was kind of like a mix of Tala's alcoholic Fala cocktail (tequila, umu pineapple, dragonfruit, lime) and their non-alcoholic Vaipala mocktail (dragonfruit, angel berries(?) and nectarine). I'm not sure what it was exactly, but it was very similar to the welcome drink (as both featured fermented dragonfruit). Solid 7-7.5/10
  • Paua: Pomelo and paua. An interesting and unique combination. The pomelo pulp was perfect, but the creamed (?) paua was really salty. I thought the paua had taro mixed in due to the taro-like texture, but apparently not.
  • Lamb Sapasui: Although the flavour wasn't amazing to me, the quality of that lamb and how it was cooked was near perfection. Fantastic job keeping it tender and fall off the bone. If I were to just rate the grilling of the lamb, it would be an 8.5/10
  • Sticky Pork: True to the name, the pork was a solid chunk of pork (belly?). Glistening as it was scooped out of the pot. Similarly to the lamb, although the flavour wasn't for me, the execution was beautiful, and I'd rate the cooking of the pork itself a 7.5-8/10.
  • Umu Chicken and Fa’alifu Taro: I had my eye on this chicken the whole night when I saw Chef Henry place burning charcoal into the cavity. The chicken is wrapped with banana leaves and cooked over the hearth, or in this case, what Henry refers to as the umu (earth oven). God damn, we were all waiting in anticipation and praying it was cooked (including Chef Henry). Lo and behold, this thing was just done perfectly 9-9.5/10 for the cooking and the timing of it. The umu chicken ... how can I explain it? Imagine a perfectly cooked chicken, a la steamed Hainenese-style. It was like that, but smokey. I wish this came with some sort of sauce instead of the Fa’alifu Taro because that was some seriously impressive cooked chicken.
  • Desserts:
  1. Fa’apapa (black plate): Super dense but quite delicious. Kind of like a reaaaaaalllllllly dense banana bread with some caramel sauce on top. Yum! 7/10
  2. Koko Samoa: Burnt/heavily roasted drinking cocoa with dark notes reminiscent of espresso. Served by itself and/or poured over the fa’apapa. Preferred the fa’apapa without the koko samoa as it was very strong and it overwhelmed the flavours of the fa’apapa.
  3. Masi Samoa: Excellent and super soft, buttery shortbread biscuit with very little crunch (in a good way because it was buttery and melted in your mouth). Had some sort of passionfruit & lemon curd sort of topping. Fantastic 7.5/10
  4. Banana: Meringue overripe banana and chocolate cake. There was too much meringue, and the chocolate cake and syrup were too sweet; thus, it kind of overpowered the overripe banana.
  • Extras: Mangesh was showing off his experiments, which I greatly appreciated as that's my sort of thing.
  1. Watermelon skin cider. Interesting flavour as the watermelon flavour is notoriously hard to achieve.
  2. Melon liqueur: rockmelon, whiskey, coconut and Manuka tea. Sort of a weaker tasting, but more complex Midori liqueur.
The service and ambience were both quite nice. We two, an American tourist, a Samoan gentleman (Leitu?) and his wife, were all chatting with each other and with Chef Henry, bartender Mangesh, and another chef throughout the night. Chef Henry was briefly telling us about his background in American Samoa, and the rest of us could kind of relate in some way due to the American, Samoan, or American Samoa (Utah) sort of relationships (ok, except for me and a small group of 3 in the corner that kept to themselves cos they were facing a different way to the rest of us).
Great experience because we all sort of chimed in and listened to each other and felt connected that way. Throughout the meal, Leitu was saying how most of the food reminded him of his childhood, how his grandma used to make food like that, and how it was the best Samoan food (and the only one to not make him feel stuffed, lol) he ever had. He and his wife also had quite a few different cocktails/mocktails as well and seemed to enjoy them. At the end of the night, as we were about to finish and leave, Leitu wanted a photo of him, his wife, and the staff. He then said a formal thank you in Samoan to Chef Henry. Even though I didn't understand the Samoan language, I could really feel the emotions and impact of how high of praise Leitu was giving Chef Henry. What an end to the night!
Although I would personally rate the food maybe overall a 5.5-6/10 and drinks a 7/10 for my heavily Asian-influenced palate, we've established that it could be some of the best Samoan food you could experience right now if that suits you.
We did not get any drinks as they were a bit pricey for my budget, but I'll have to hit Mangesh up. Luckily, I got to at least try some of his stuff (including the comped drink) since his creations were solid.
Although $215 per person isn't cheap, given good company and the intimate interaction between the guests and staff, it was worth the experience (8.5/10) to me. In fact, I felt so moved by the hospitality that I went to the car and ran back inside Tala to give Mangesh a block of chocolate I made as a token of my appreciation back to them.
What a long post. I hope you enjoy the read as much as I remember that night!

More raspberry and lemon cake
Only this time in the form of cupcakes as a surprise for my friend's birthday. I had plenty of lemon curd, raspberry jam and freeze dried raspberries left over from the last birthday cake I made so the flavours seemed like a no brainer. They are the same sponge cake mix and buttercream base, but the raspberry ones have vanilla added to the frosting and the lemon ones have lemon juice

🔗Reliable, LED Distress Flare for Safe Navigation

https://preview.redd.it/zzs62njqp34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=240c4e8fd834bf3f8ff087f52826ee983db02bc0
As a boater, I've always been wary of traditional pyrotechnic flares for safety reasons. That's why, when I came across the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag, I knew I had to give it a try. This innovative device has been designed to provide a safer, more reliable alternative to traditional pyrotechnic flares and can even be carried in lieu of them.
What stood out the most was the 360-degree visibility from over six miles away. Not only did it provide excellent visibility during emergencies, but it also had a significantly longer burn time than traditional flares. Its lightweight, compact size, and floatability made it incredibly easy to use – all while being fungus, corrosion, and water-resistant.
The ACR ResQFlare also comes with a distress flag, which, when carried together, qualifies as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares. It's a perfect addition to any ditch bag, especially considering that it doesn't go out of date, saving me time and avoids the hassle of replacement.
One downside I faced was the lack of a lanyard attached to the device. While it floats upright in water, there are better options available that might be more visible in daylight compared to the ACR ResQFlare. However, as a safety device, the ACR ResQFlare still gets the job done without the risk of fire or injury.
In conclusion, the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag is a great addition to any boater's safety arsenal. It's easy to use, safe, and provides excellent visibility during emergencies. Its longevity and added convenience make it a worthy choice as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares.

🔗ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare Kit for Maritime Safety

As someone who spends quite a bit of time on the water, I've often found myself worried about carrying traditional pyrotechnic flares due to their potential hazards. That's why I was thrilled to try the ACR ResQFlare E-flare and Drybag Safety Kit. This handy device is an excellent alternative - it's compact, easy to use, and most importantly, safe.
One of the features that stood out for me was its daytime distress flag. This flag is bright and noticeable, ensuring that I could be seen even in daylight conditions. Carried together with the ResQFlare, they meet the applicable U. S. Coast Guard requirements, making them a reliable safety tool to carry on my boat.
Of course, like any product, there are a few aspects I would have liked to see improved. The ResQFlare could benefit from a more durable design, as the plastic casing feels a bit flimsy. Additionally, considering the cost, I would have expected the kit to come with more than just one distress flag.
Overall, the ACR ResQFlare E-flare and Drybag Safety Kit has become an essential part of my boating gear. It provides a safe and effective way to signal for help in case of an emergency, and I feel more confident knowing I have it on board.

🔗Premium Extend-A-Fender Flares for Ultimate Tire Coverage

I recently added the Bushwacker 20971-02 fender flares to my car, and let me tell you, they looked pretty good on there. These flares are a bit on the thin side but once I installed them, they felt pretty sturdy.
The biggest downside was the rubber weather-strip, it kept falling off and seemed to be made of a poor quality material. I ended up having to call Bushwacker and they sent me a replacement part.
Overall, I'm happy with the product, but I wish the rubber weather-strip was of higher quality.

🔗Bushwacker Max Coverage Pocket Style UV-Protected Fender Flares

I've had the pleasure of trying out the Bushwacker Max Coverage Pocket Style Fender Flares, and I must say, I'm impressed! These bad boys add an extra 2.25 inches of tire coverage from the wheel well, which is perfect for my truck's bigger tires and wider wheels. The aggressive off-road style they bring to the table is truly one of a kind.
The fender flares install easily right out of the box, and they're built tough with Dura-Flex 2000 material. It's wrap-resistant and boasts added durability and flexibility on the trail, thanks to its thick construction. Despite their rugged appearance, these fender flares are a piece of cake to install without any drilling, and they blend in seamlessly with the rest of my truck's bodywork.
Sure, there can be a few minor hiccups in painting them to match your ride, but overall, the Bushwacker Max Coverage Pocket Style Fender Flares are an excellent investment for truck and SUV owners looking for enhanced tire coverage.

🔗Versatile 3/32" Thick Acrylic Sheet for Bulk Purchase

https://preview.redd.it/fentqiwrp34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7597d34f896285425ed0508b8f6e01e9b9853b5f
I recently got my hands on a 3/32" thick Cast Acrylic sheet, measuring 6" wide and 6" long. As someone who appreciates the unique blend of function and aesthetics, this product was a delight to work with. With its optically clear nature, it allowed me to create projects that were visually pleasing while maintaining strength and durability.
Despite being quite small, this sheet still served its purpose well in a variety of applications. Its moisture-resistant properties ensured that my work kept its clear edge even in humid conditions. The fact that it's thin made it lightweight to handle and easy to cut, making it a favorite for my DIY projects.
However, it's worth mentioning that while the product is strong, it might not be ideal for projects requiring extreme durability or heavy-duty usage. Additionally, if you're planning larger projects, you might find that ordering these sheets in bulk would be more convenient.
Overall, this Cast Acrylic sheet proved to be a reliable and versatile tool for my crafting needs. Whether you're a hobbyist or a professional, this product could have a place in your toolbox.

🔗Clear 1/4 Inch Thick Acrylic Sheet for Glass Window Replacement and Various Applications

I recently gave the SOURCEONE. ORG Premium 1/4 Clear Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet a try in my home renovation project, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. I used it for my kitchen window replacement, and it offered the perfect balance of durability and style. The clear 1/4 inch thick acrylic was incredibly easy to work with - I was able to saw, route, drill, form, bend, and even cement it without any hassle.
The result? . A stunning, sturdy window that has held up great against the outdoor elements. The best part? .
It's lighter and stronger than glass, making it an excellent investment for any outdoor application. Highly recommend! .

🔗Bushwacker FF Extend-A-Fender for Chevrolet: Premium Protection and Stylish Flare

https://preview.redd.it/1709b7lsp34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=08b0629a4fd8671ff89c840baa49f81bd7ce54cb
Just a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon the Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender Flares. I had been looking for a durable and stylish fender flare for my Chevrolet truck. With Bushwacker's reputation for quality and performance, I decided to give them a try.
First of all, installing these flares took no more than 10 minutes, even for someone like me with minimal car modification experience. One look, and I was sold on their sleek and modern design, perfect for my truck.
What stood out the most were the materials used. Dura-Flex 2000 material offers durability, flexibility, and built-in UV protection. It's safe to say that these flares have become an integral part of my truck's exterior, and the 2.25-inch tire coverage is just an added bonus.
But what sets them apart from other flares on the market is the fact that they resist chalking, cracking, and warping. I've had several cars and trucks over the years, and this is the first time I've found a product that genuinely stands up to wear and tear.
However, one downside I noticed was that the flares' finish seemed to get a little scuffed during the installation process. But since they're sold in an OE matte black finish, it blends in quite nicely. If you're someone who likes to personalize their look, you could always paint them to match your vehicle's color scheme.
All in all, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender Flares have been a game-changer for my car's overall appearance and performance. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade the look of their vehicle.

Recently, I stumbled upon the Umootek 3 Pieces Acrylic Sheet Clear Cast Plexiglass 12 x 12 Inches Square Panel 14 Thick (6mm) Clear Plastic Plexi Perspex Plate Panel. Fascinated by its unique design, I decided to give it a try in my daily life.
What stood out to me the most was its strength and durability. As someone who loves DIY projects, I appreciated that this product could be heated and shaped without breaking it. It was also incredibly easy to cut through it, leaving no traces of cracking.
The transparency of this acrylic sheet was exceptional, and its light transmission properties made it perfect for displaying delicate objects. In fact, its smooth surface and high hardness made it an ideal replacement for glass, allowing me to create a custom protective cover for my aquarium.
However, one downside I noticed was the thickness of the acrylic sheet. While it was strong and durable, it also made it a bit cumbersome to handle during certain projects. But overall, my experience with this acrylic sheet was pleasant, and I appreciate the versatility it offers for various applications.

I recently came across the R600a refrigerant, a life-saver when it comes to refrigeration units that require this specific type of refrigerant. The size of 14.8 ounces or 420 grams made it perfect for my needs, fitting nicely in my refrigerator.
The EPA's approval of R600a and its adherence to the regulations in 40 CFR Part 82.17 provided me with peace of mind. Using it as per their guidelines gave me confidence in the product.
One of the standout features for me was its purity, boasting a 99.7% pharmaceutical-grade quality. This high purity level ensured the efficient functioning of my refrigeration unit, and it didn't disappoint.
However, there was one downside that I encountered during my use. Despite the decent amount of refrigerant provided, it didn't last as long as I desired, and I had to make more frequent replacements than expected.
Overall, while the R600a refrigerant did its job in keeping my refrigerator cool and maintaining a consistent temperature, I wish it lasted a bit longer.

🔗Clear Acrylic Sheet: Versatile and Durable Glass Alternative

I recently gave the Fab Glass and Mirror Plexiglass Sheets a try, and I must say, they've been a game-changer in my daily life. These sheets provide a clear and sturdy alternative to glass, and I've found that they're ideal for a variety of applications. Whether I'm crafting a DIY photo frame or creating a chic welcome sign, the plexiglass sheets never fail to impress.
The most impressive feature is their durability. They've withstood quite a few knocks and scrapes without showing any signs of wear and tear. And the best part? They're just as effective outdoors as they are indoors, making them an excellent choice for a wide range of applications. The clarity of these sheets has also proven to be a major selling point. They allow light to pass through effortlessly, making them perfect for display cases and signage.
That being said, I did experience a minor drawback. The sheets do tend to attract dirt easily, which can be a bit of a hassle when it comes to cleaning. Overall, however, the pros far outweigh the cons, and I'd definitely recommend these plexiglass sheets to anyone in need of a clear and sturdy material for their projects.

🔗Cricut Acetate Sheets for Cutting Plotters: 12x12cm Transparent Sheets

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Cricut Acetate Sheets, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! I was working on a project that required some extra-clear stencils, and these sheets were the perfect solution. The best part? They worked perfectly in my Cricut machine without any issues.
The acetate sheets were incredibly easy to use, and the stencils I made came out looking flawless. I especially loved the protective film on both sides of the sheets, which kept them looking pristine until I was ready to start cutting. The acetate itself was crystal clear, making it a great choice for any project where a clean and precise cut is essential.
However, I did notice that the acetate can be a bit fragile if not handled with care. I had a few accidents where the sheets scratched or got a few small dings, but luckily, they were easily fixed with a bit of polishing. Overall, I'm thrilled with the Cricut Acetate Sheets and will definitely be using them in future projects. Highly recommended!

🔗Powerful Honda-Engine Aerator for Lawn Maintenance

My first experience with the Billy Goat PL1800 Mechanical Aerator was nothing short of impressive. The powerful Honda GX120 engine, offering up to 118cc, makes short work of those pesky aerating tasks, clearing up to 22,000 sq ft with ease. Its foldable handle truly comes to the rescue when it comes to transporting this beast between jobs, as well as providing a compact storage solution when not in use. I was amazed at how effortlessly it maneuvered over rough terrain, thanks to its 12-inch semi-pneumatic tires that add not just stability but ease of operation as well.
However, there were a couple of cons I noticed too. The maintenance aspect, although easy with one-piece removable covers, could be more convenient with a bit of tool-free access. Also, this behemoth could do with some noise reduction – a feature that would be welcomed by any lawn-loving neighbor. All in all, it's no wonder why this PL1800H model is the go-to choice for many lawn enthusiasts. Yes, it's a bit noisy, and the maintenance might be slightly tricky at times. But the power, the maneuverability, and that green, lush lawn it provides? Worth every penny.

These Cricut Clear Acetate Sheets were recently making a major splash in my daily crafting routine. Perfect for stamping, embossing, or cutting, these sheets have become indispensable for my creative projects. Not only have they found their way into crafting gift boxes, they also came in handy when I was making custom window cards for friends' birthdays. One of the key selling points of these sheets is their anti-scratch film, ensuring that the product remains in prime condition till the very end. With their ability to work seamlessly with Cricut machines or any other sturdy crafting machinery out there, I knew I had stumbled upon a product that would become a staple in my craft room for ages to come.
The user-friendly aspect of these sheets was definitely a standout feature. Not only were they easy to use, but they also made my project look so much better in an instant. In terms of drawbacks, there was a minor issue with the sheets potentially scratching easily especially after the protective film was removed. However, with a bit of extra care during handling, this was something entirely manageable.
My experience with these sheets was absolutely fantastic! They have been the perfect addition to my crafting arsenal. Their versatility never ceases to amaze me. No matter what project I throw at them, they always seem to pull through with flying colors. I highly recommend investing in these sheets for your next project, no matter what it may be.

DISCLAIMER: This theory will go over the entire story of Platinum End, so obvious spoilers ahead.Just a heads up, this theory is posted at the time that only a few episodes of the anime have been released. Depending on how much the anime stays like the manga, details may end up changing. Therefore, the entire theory will be based solely on the manga. I will also leave snippets of the manga with the highlighted text to support my claim. Please be sure to read those as it will help this theory make sense. This theory is completely my own original thoughts. If anyone shares this, please be sure to credit me, Muphenz. Thanks! Hello, my fellow Platinum End fans! If you’re like me, the ending completely caught me off guard and left my head-scratching. Do not worry! I’ve overanalyzed everything and made a theory to possibly explain who god and those beings at the end of the story are, so you don’t have to. Those beings at the end of the manga, chapter 58, are drum roll…humans of the future who have achieved many scientific advancements who existed well before the story of Platinum End takes place and are simulating their own world with fake humans, fake angels, and a fake god. Why are the real humans running this simulation? Simply put, they’re suicidal and no amount of therapy is going to help with that. Why are they wanting to die? In the future, it is predicted by Gaku Yoneda that within 500 years, humans will achieve immortality. Once they achieve immortality, they will eventually master time and space and will be able to do things like teleport, time travel, see the future, etc. And once humans achieve immortality and are able to know all of the future, they will discover that the future cannot be changed according to Dr. Yoneda. Just like Dr. Yoneda’s prediction, the real humans are wanting to die which is why it’s stated by one of the real humans how annoying it is that there is no death. Whatever the process was that made the real humans immortal, it seems that it cannot be reversed to restore one’s mortality. Although it’s not stated how humans will achieve immortality and allow them to control time and space, this will somehow cause humanity’s apocalypse as well, destroying the original Earth. What makes these creatures more human-like than god-like is that they admit they were born on another planet, most likely the original Earth. They are also aware that they too were created by something that is above them. How do we know Dr. Yoneda’s predictions are right? It was stated by Shuji Nakaumi that his past predictions came true. One thing to understand about science is that it’s extremely good at accurately predicting things. Example 1: With Issac Newton’s law of motion, scientists can predict the position of an object at any specific time, past, present, or future. Example 2: In the 1840s, Fitzner astronomer Urbain Le Verrier was analyzing the orbit pathway of Mercury and found that it is changing very slowly over time. With technology limited at that time, it was hard to provide proof. In 1915, the famous German physicist, Albert Einstein was able to calculate the influence of the curved space in Mercury’s orbit. That is 75 years later that science proved its prediction was right. Although science cannot tell future events like a psychic will attempt to, I believe this is what the author was using to help advance the plot for the ending. The real humans already know the future and they’re aware that no matter what they try, death is not a part of that. If they cannot do it, someone else can. That is when these simulations come in. The real humans will create simulated humans. In one of the simulations, the story of Platinum End takes place. This would not be on a computer. This process would involve terraforming an entire planet to support carbon-based life. The planet that the simulated humans live on will be similar to the original Earth as well as the history and advancement of science will be similar to the real humans. As the simulated human’s society progresses, like in Platinum End, they would eventually learn how to become immortal and learn how to control space-time which would lead to them wanting to die just like the real humans. But unlike the real humans, the simulated ones may actually achieve a way to kill themselves once they obtain immortality that the real humans could use. But as we already know stated by the real humans, this specific simulation was a failure. Nothing was created that was capable of killing them. Thus, the real humans will move on to a new simulation. Pay very special attention to this picture. Notice right after all of the humans disappear when the fake god kills himself, the buildings are slowly crumbling away since no one is here to maintain them. According to World Building, it would take an average of 250 years for a building to start to break apart since materials like wood and plastic would be destroyed by the environment if not maintained. Metal would be expanding and no longer able to keep the building's structure in place. This would cause things like windows to fall off and shatter. So after a few hundred years, the real humans return to the planet after the simulated humans disappeared due to the fake god’s suicide. It’s possible that during this time they’re running other simulations on other planets and returned when this simulation was completed. Since the real humans have achieved master over space-time, teleporting to anywhere in the universe would not be out of the question. Since they cannot die, the amount of time it would take for the real humans to travel anywhere in the universe is irrelevant as well. Even though Gaku Yoneda’s predictions about the simulated humanity’s end were wrong, he was technically right. It did come true for the real humans. If Shuji Nakaumi, as the fake god, did not kill himself and wipe out all of the fake humans, they would of most likely learned how to cheat death and to control space-time in the future. Gaku was wrong about the fake god being a product of human belief in order to live. He even admits that the composition of the fake god was wrong. If the fake god required human belief to live, then Shuji would not have erased the memories of those who were not god candidates as it would have affected the fake god's existence if fewer people believed in him. There is one thing that begs the question. Why is a fake god needed to run these simulations? Why do the simulated humans have souls? Why not just create the simulated humans and leave them to figure out how to create an immortal killing machine without the process of a false god? This is because God and souls are actually real and are necessary for life to exist. To clarify, the “God” that Shuji Nakaumi was transmuted into is not the true God that I’m referring to. I’m referring to the first cause of everything, a self-aware creator, a deistic God who existed before time and space who created the universe and does not intervene in its creation. This means no miracles, prophecy, answering prayers, divine revelation, etc. Everything in the universe is governed by physics and these laws cannot be broken. The real humans who are running the simulations are aware that they are a creation made from a creator. However, since a deistic God does not interfere in the universe, the real humans cannot know of him, at least while they are still alive. Considering the real humans can control space-time, I can say for certain at one point, at least one person went to the very beginning of time and saw something that would be evidence of an intelligent designer creating the universe. When the real humans are conversing with each other at the finale, one human suggests identifying what created them and the second one replies that seeking their creator will be a waste of time. If a deistic God won’t intervene in its creation, the real humans would be wasting time by attempting to contact him. Even though they can control space-time, if the creator exists outside of reality, they would not be able to reach this entity. Focusing on figuring out who created them means that time is wasted if they're not figuring out how to die which is why it would take them further away from death. Just as the simulated humans have souls, the real humans also have souls. At some point, the real humans discovered the soul. They are aware that this is needed for life to be sentient. The discovery of the soul could have played a key part in the real humans achieving immortality. The fake god is engineered by the real humans to create souls so that life can be sentient, mimic the universe's deistic God by allowing the simulation to run with no interference, and act as a mod to keep an eye on life with the red and white arrows. The celestial realm was created so the fake god would not be a part of the simulated world. Even though time moves differently in the celestial realm, it is the closest thing that the real humans can engineer to simulate a deist God that is separated from its creation. This fake god does not have the powers of a supreme being. The fake god does not know everything, is not everywhere at once, and does not display any sort of omnipotent ability. There is a lot of things that the fake god admits to not knowing, such as who created him, why are souls preserved, and how long does the merging process take. Although we do see the fake god have the ability to observe humanity, I would say that this is the equivalent of having admin privileges to watch humanity live-streamed on YouTube. The fake god is aware that he is created by someone. The fake god noticed that there are things that had already been created that he was not a part of just by observing everything in the universe. Although he seems to not understand what created him. He even acknowledges the idea that humanity could have created him. All the simulated souls come from the fake god. This is done through a process of emanation, which means to flow from. In the Abrahamic religions, specifically Gnosticism, Jewish Mysticism, and certain sectors of Protestantism, instead of your typical creator being separate from its creation, everything is a spontaneous outflow from God. As pieces of God emanate from him, it becomes less divine, but these pieces will eventually become an individual soul that forms into human spirits, angels, demons, as well as other things that come into reality such as heaven, hell, and the world of the living. Eventually, everything that came from God, will return back to the creator. (If you’re still confused on what emanation is, I would do more research before continuing to read as this will play a key role in understanding who the fake god is.) Emanation is how the fake god created the simulated human and their soul, the fake angels, and the celestial realm. The fake god took a piece of himself and used it to create life. Since everything emanates from the fake god is connected to him, as he is dying, most of the angels are dying too. Due to this connection, when the fake god killed himself, everything that was tied to the fake god disappeared. But because the creation of the fake god is not connected to the physical world, the planet and everything that is not life remained on it. When the simulated human beings die, the soul goes to the celestial realm. This is the returning aspect of emanation. The souls that came from the fake god are returning back to him. You always see all angels, regardless of rank, having the task of carrying the souls to the celestial realm. It seems that the main purpose of the angels is to help with the return part of the emanation process. The more that the emanence is divided, the less divine it becomes. This is why the fake humans are considered sub-celestial in the hierarchy. It appears that there is a certain order to the flow of emanation. The newest creations emanate from the fake god. Kids will be the first in the line for the emanate process and their parents will be behind them. This is why when the fake god committed suicide, the kids were the first ones to disappear, then the adults. All things that emanate from the fake god are returning to the original source in reverse order when the fake god takes his own life. When the fake god merges with a human, this appears to go against the set pattern of the emanation process by breaking the order in which the emanence flows. This is why when Shuji merged with the fake god, it felt like there was something foreign in the fake god's body similar to how an infected person's body acts when the immune system detects foreign bacteria or a virus. The only way to get around it is by the fake god merging with a simulated human and having the fake god take over the new body when the fusion is completed. It is stated by the fake god that it is nothing more than humanity's assumption that God cannot die. This may be true for the deistic God, but not for a fake god. It is already known that the real humans achieved immortality. Although the fake god could have been engineered to be immortal, that would just create another being who would eventually want to die. The fake god was designed to live a long life, compared to humans, that could be extended through the process of merging with one of its emanated counterparts until the simulation was completed. This has been done throughout time in the form of the god choosing process. The fake god confirmed to Shuji that his purpose was to create life. Professor Yoneda confirmed that the fake god was created by human imagination and that its purpose was to end life. On the surface, this may seem like a contradiction. But both of them are right. The fake god’s purpose was to create the simulated humans. God is metaphorically a creation of human imagination. It was not by the simulated human’s imagination as stated by Yoneda, but it was designed and engineered by the minds of the real humans. Since the purpose of the simulation is for the fake humans to achieve immortality and figure out how to reverse it, you can say that the fake god is a part of that process of killing humanity. Right as all of the humans are disappearing, Dr. Yoneda realizes that the composition that makes up the creature is based on a science that the simulated humans have not discovered yet. The composition of the fake god is Aether. In medieval times, a common study among scholars is alchemy, which can be best described as the forerunner for modern-day chemistry mixed with the pseudoscience of metaphysics. According to Charles Gillispie, a historian at Princeton University, in his book, The Edge of Objectivity, An Essay in the History of Scientific Ideas, Aether is the fifth element, along with earth, wind, fire, and water, that are the basic building blocks of the universe. During medieval times, Aether is the substance that is believed to connect the physical world to the spiritual one. It was even a common belief that the Abrahamic God was surrounded by Aether and that all of the angels, demons, and souls that dwelled in the afterlife breathed it in as humans breathed in the air. According to Jakob Bernoulli, a mathematician from the 1600s, believed that Aether is what allowed souls to interact with their human bodies. All of these characteristics of Aether match the composition of the fake god. Aether is what allows life to become sentient, connecting all of the simulated humans back to the fake god from the physical world to the celestial realm. It seems at some point, the real humans discover this element. This discovery most likely led to the discovery of the soul. Using this element, the real humans used Aether to construct the fake god needed for the simulations. Everything that is a part of the simulation, the fake god, angels, the soul, the arrows, is made up of this element. The red arrow is what allows the god candidates to make other humans fall in love with them so much that the person who is under the influence of the arrow will do literally anything the person who is in control wants, even die for them. The white arrow has the ability to kill any life while all inanimate objects are unaffected. These were limits placed on the arrows by the fake god. According to Ogaro, the fake god can use the full power of the arrows at will. The red arrow is more than just making someone fall in love. The arrow does this by taking away their free will. The god candidates were limited to using the arrow on 14 people at once for a period of up to 33 days. With the fake god able to use the full power of the red arrow, he can enslave any or all simulated humans with a snap of his finger for as long as he desired. The red arrow also played a role in creating the first simulated life as well. The fake god stated that if life was left alone, it would multiply. The desire of falling in love and wanting to procreate was implanted by the red arrow when life was created. The white arrow is the opposite of the red arrow. This arrow can kill life instantly. The limit that was placed on this arrow is that only one white arrow can be shot at a time. Just like the red arrow, this arrow has a maximum range of 31.6 meters. When cycling the white arrow, there is a cool down period of 0.3 seconds. If these limiters are removed, the fake god can kill all humans with the white arrows with virtually no limit on distance, any number of arrows can be used simultaneously, and there would be no mandatory cool down period. The creation of the simulated humans involves two key ingredients. The first is the soul which comes from the fake god. The second is a physical body for the soul to be attached to. The real humans asked if it was worth planting another seed and another god as those are two separate things. The making of another god is obviously the fake god. But what is the seed? The seed is what makes the physical embodiment of all plants and animals that all emanence is attached to. I.E., souls attached to bodies. According to the fake god, before he created life on the fake Earth, there was some sort of micro-organism. This seed would be that micro-organism, specifically carbon-based bacteria that is capable of evolution. Around 3 billion years ago, the first life on Earth was bacteria. There are two types of bacteria, a classification of anaerobic bacteria that ate other organic compounds and simple sugars to survive. The other kind is autotrophs bacteria which is capable of self-feeding. Anaerobic bacteria would evolve into modern-day animals. Autotroph bacteria would evolve into modern-day plants that still have the ability to self-feed through a process of photosynthesis. It is possible to send bacteria through space. According to a 2020 study published in the Journal of Frontiers in Microbiology, bacteria were able to survive in space for three years. If the real humans were able to transport the seed through space in less than 3 years, it could easily survive. Considering they achieved immortality, it is within reason to think this would be a piece of cake for them. At some point, part of the anaerobic bacteria would come in contact with the fake god, who was on the fake Earth at that time to make life, recognized the fake god as food, and attempted to feed off of him to survive. The bacteria that fed off the fake god would eventually evolve into Nasse. The bacteria that did not feed off of the fake god would evolve into more complex forms of life on the fake Earth. Since Nasse was accidentally created from this event, it most likely means that she is the first angel that the fake god created. This means that she could serve as inspiration for the fake god to create angels for the celestial realm. The angels don't seem to share any ability to reproduce with each other. There is never any mention of any family heritage. It means that all of the angels were created around the same time. Since Nasse is the only angel that came from the seed/bacteria, her biological makeup differs from all the other angels. While the majority of her is angel, part of the genetic makeup is similar to carbon-based life. Although I would not say Nasse is an angel-human hybrid, she could be considered a type of Nephilim. Due to this biological difference, Nasse is the only angel that can interfere in both the physical world and the celestial realm. Much research has shown that facial expressions are innate among all animals, not just humans. The same animals that display facial expressions when expressing emotions, lying, determination, etc. use similar muscles in the face as humans do. For example, a Psychologist, Paul Ekman, studied facial expression from hours of film and ventured on to multiple isolated tribes who have very little contact with modern society. He showed them pictures of facial expressions and asked them to interpret them. These people were able to match facial expressions and their meaning with high accuracy. This is one of the many studies that show facial expressions are genetic. Even though Nasse is single-minded, she is able to understand facial expressions due to her biological relationship with the simulated life on the fake Earth. But hey, this is just a theory."

2024.06.02 06:11 middle-agedyeller Who makes the least artificial-tasting, most flavor-forward protein powder right now?

Flavor is everything to me and I get so easily bored with the same shake, so I’m looking for something that I can use as a canvas for a daily shake that can be mixed up over time.
So many powders on the market taste overly sweet and have a chemical aftertaste from what my palate perceives as a chalky, artificial sweetener. I could be wrong, maybe I’m just sensitive to it, but I have had bad luck with so many tubs.
Brands I’ve tried: MTS, ON, Isoliscious, Apollo, Huel, Ryse, Black Magic, BSN, Dymatize — nothing seems to stick on my palate. But I’m a sucker for novelty though, so I’ve tried cinnamon bun, red velvet cake, cereal milk, peanut butter, and so many more. It all feels like it just boils down to a lukewarm variant on chocolate, vanilla, or fruit.
The best protein drink I’ve found has been from Slate Milk, but it just isn’t cost-effective unless I’m running out the door and have no access to my blender. I like to blend shakes with dates, almond milk, bananas/berries, and a nut butter, and I’m looking for a protein that can play nicely with all or none of those.
I’m curious about Form (banoffee!) , Ghost (marshmallow cereal milk!), 1Up Nutrition (tres leches!), Tyngre (elderflower meringue?!), and Armra. I’d love to try samples first before I commit to a whole tub.
Tyngre has one that was chef-created. I’ll find a way to order Swedish protein powder if I have to, but I’m hoping someone here has some sort of ringing endorsement for something I’ve missed!! I’m in the US.

Jäpâņèßê Pļűm
Don’t pick on my title. It makes it fancy.
Let’s talk plum.
I wanted to love this one. I wanted to love it so badly when I got it.
…And I did, so mission accomplished.
Here’s why:
Is it oud? Is it gourmand? Yes. It’s a lot of things. This scent isn’t for newcomers and, truthfully, I don’t wear it often. It’s dense, and definitely more of a winter wear for me.
(Sometimes I spray it on late at night after a shower and walk around in a black turtleneck, a house coat (what I call my robe) with a pipe and think I’m better than everyone else.)
All kidding aside, this is an odd duck. I’m surprised they chose to clone it, but the novelty of a discontinued TF must be insanely appealing.
I think of this as Parfum De Cerise’ gothic moody twin who doesn’t talk to you at the party, but makes aggressive eye contact anyway.
The liquor isn’t boozey, as we call it, but functions more as a blender to round this out. The plum is also more subtle than you might think, and the real star isn’t even mentioned.
It’s called immortelle. It’s a plant, and the absolut is what gives JP its dark colour. Think of Immortelle as a spicy, warm and rich scent; like sun warmed hay mixed with licorice and maple. The cinnamon backup (I don’t think it’s a cinnamon oil, but hexyl-cinnamaldehyde or cinnamic alcohol) really boosts the rather profound spice facets found in the middle of this scent. It’s gorgeous, really.
Go listen to the andante from Brahms’ 4th Symphonie in E minor. About 2:30 in…that string partita? That’s Japanese plum.
https://open.spotify.com/track/1FvgF5QdLpmohTmi3D9N5c?si=DnlZW_KwRgeIyiry27BLQA
Order this scent, and listen to this piece and tell me that didn’t bring a tear to your eye. If it doesn’t we’ll have to have a talk, you and I…
Anyway, this is well done. Like a cake whose ingredients you can’t disseminate because the balance is so good. Not a single ingredient stands out, but all work together in harmony and symmetry. Like…several notes in a chord, or something. Maybe there’s a connection between music and fragrance. Hm.
If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up…

2024.06.02 03:37 CraziZoom LAUSD Old School Coffee Cake?:r

Hi, I’m looking for the recipe to the LAUSD coffee cake, in use at least circa 1998-2010 that they used to mix and cook inside the school cafeterias and bake in a huge pan or baking sheet. I believe it has what could be described as a crumble or crumb topping. I know it made a mess, but it was sooooooo good!!
Please forgive my lack of cooking vocabulary. I lack skill in the kitchen, but every once in a while, I get a yen to bake something.
Thank you in advance!!

2024.06.02 03:01 DonFiglioni Explanations

Shared false memories are often perpetuated when one person's false memory, misquote, joke or inaccurate reference makes it into pop culture where it is seen by millions.
SHATNER, SALLY FIELD & HANNIBAL Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura calling a monacled man the Monopoly guy, or doing Shatner from The Twilight Zone, "There's... someone on the wing! Some... THING!" or imitating Sally Field in The Mask and Hannibal Lecter in The Cable Guy: these were comedic impressions, not quotes.
TANK MAN & THE LINDBERGH BABY I was recently watching episodes of The West Wing which perpetuated 2 more common MEs. Richard Schiff's character mentions people watching TV and seeing a man get run over by a tank - a reference to Tiananmen square. A woman sarcastically confesses to a crime, adding that if you search her house, you'll find the Lindbergh baby. People watching could easily remember these events incorrectly.
GHOST POTTERY Patrick Swayze was still alive during the pottery scene. Family Guy spoofed this scene with Swayze's character as a ghost, and you have probably seen similar spoofs, leading to the false memory that he was a ghost in that scene. YOU WANT SOME CORNBREAD, MR. JINGLES? Michael Clarke Duncan's character rarely interacted with Mr. Jingles and never fed him cornbread. That was a different inmate. The Simpsons spoofed this, with MCD saying "You want some cornbread, Mr. Jingles?" which is how many people remember the movie. SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR'S DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE In I Know What You Did Last Summer, SMG witnesses a murder while performing on stage, to a stunned audience who remain silent. Some people remember the audience erupting in applause. That was a parody scene in Scary Movie.
You may have seen a different version of a popular movie as a child.
PHILOSOPHER'S STONE There are 2 versions of the first Harry Potter movie. The title macguffin is called the Sorcerer's Stone in American releases, the Philosopher's Stone in UK and Canada.
AUSTRALIAN PETER PAN If you remember Peter Pan having a British accent, Tinkerbell saving him from a poisoned cake, and Smee going home to his mother at the end, the you saw an Australian version not made by Disney. This one MESSED with my head after watching the Disney version as an adult.
CALIGULA There are MANY different edits of this film based on it's country and time of release and censorship laws. Some versions include hard-core pornographic scenes which were cut in other versions. Some versions have the order of scenes mixed up. You could watch 2 versions edited so differently that the plot is not even the same. I have seen 2: one that starts with Caligula in bed with his sister, the other that starts with a hunting scene intended to come later.
BRIAN COX AS HANNIBAL LECTER? You may have seen either or both Manhunter and Red Dragon - 2 adaptations of the same novel. Manhunter came out before Silence of the Lambs and featured Brian Cox. Red Dragon was made later as a prequel featuring Anthony Hopkins. There could be many instances of people confusing originals and remakes.
If you tend to watch DVD special features, you may remember deleted or alternate scenes more vividly than the actual movie.
DON'T DROP THAT NECKLACE, ROSE! Yes, there was an alternate ending of Titanic in which Bill Paxton confronted Old Rose on the back of the ship, but it completely messed with the flow and the audience's catharsis. Bravo to James Cameron for chosing the better ending. One of my Favorite movies.
IT'S THE DIRTIEST JOKES THAT STAY WITH YOU Years after watching Team America: World Police on DVD, the only 2 scenes I remembered were a disgustingly graphic scat sex scene between two marionettes, and a scene of man-on-man oral sex that ended with the superior saying it would be hard to make his subordinate into the perfect soldier... because he's gay now. I was dismayed when I watched it a second time and both these scenes were absent. Turns out, years ago, I watched the deleted scenes in the DVD special features.
Historical films VS reenactments
HOUSTON, WE'VE HAD A PROBLEM This is the line as it was actually spoken in real life and, subsequently, in several dramatic reenactments. In the popular movie, Tom Hanks says "Houston, we HAVE a problem."
THAT'S NOT HOW THEY KILLED BIN LADEN! Shortly after it happened, you may have watched one of several dramatic reenactments of the raid, including an animated recreation of the actual helmet cam footage, which differed drastically from how it was portrayed in Zero Dark Thirty. Aside from the production quality, the reenactments were far more enthralling.
FALSE TRAILERS Yes, sometimes a movie trailer is made using whatever footage is available, before the final cut of the film is finished. Therefore, it is not uncommon for scenes from the trailer to be missing from the movie.
WATCH OUT FOR THAT TIE FIGHTER! That's right, Jyn never comes face-to-face with a TIE fighter in Rogue One, despite it being one of the most exciting shots from the trailer.
LIVE. DIE. REPEAT. Not the title of the movie. It was called Edge of Tomorrow, though you wouldn't know it from the constant repetition of the tag line in the trailer and minimal use of the actual title. Most DVD/Blu-ray releases have this tag line prominently on the cover art, so viewers know what movie it is.
SOUNDS LIKE A SEXY HAMBURGER! Seth Rogen never says this in Superbad, in reference to the fake name McLovin, but it is one of the most memorable lines from the time of the film's release.
False memories sometimes form from combining several related ones.
TINKERBELL DOTS THE I No, she doesn't. But you've seen her flitting across the screen and flicking a wand to make words appear or the castle disappear in several different title sequences. See the Disney home video one, for example.
I SEE WHITE PEOPLE! No, the line spoofing The Sixth Sense was not spoken in Scary Movie, but you DID hear it the same year. At the 2000 Oscars, host Billy Crystal did a bit where he had the camera zoom up on celebrities in the audience and he said what they were thinking in that moment. He spoke this line when the camera was zoomed in on Michael Clarke Duncan, to much laughter.
SINBAD THE... SUPERVILLAIN? Sinbad did not play a genie called Shazaam, but in 1996, the same year Shaq played Kazaam, Sinbad played a mischievous character in a ridiculous costume as the main antagonist in the Christmas film Jingle All the Way. You may have combined these 2 images in your memory.
THAT DARN CORNUCOPIA No, it wasn't part of the Fruit of the Loom logo, but it was a frequently reproduced image every kid saw in school when they learned about Thanksgiving. The 2 images were so similar that many teachers made the assumption they were the same, telling kids they may have seen it on their underwear. In fact, the cornucopia image was so common, it seems to have even been used on some knock-off brands of socks and underwear, making this MA totally understandable.
MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL... The evil queen never said it when you were a kid, but Lord Farquad did in Shrek when you were a bit older, which probably misinformed your memory of the original line.
IT'S THE EYE OF THE TIGER... Does the song make you think of the movie Rocky? It shouldn't. It was never used in the original film, only the sequels. Although Rocky's original theme music is just as iconic.
OH, NO! NOT PLASTIC SHEETS! There were none on the floor for Tommy's hit in Goodfellas, but you may be thinking of a similar scene in Lethal Weapon 2.
IS LIBERTY ISLAND A THING? Yes, it always was. You always associated it with the immigrants who came over through Ellis Island when you learned about them in school. Your teachers may not have bothered telling you the name of the island that houses the statue and you assumed it was the same. And here's something else to think about: Liberty Island is located in the waters of New Jersey, not New York.
THAT'S THE WRONG ACTOR! Meg Ryan was not Maverick's love iterest in Top Gun; she was Goose's wife. Some people made that mistake as Ryan soon became a household name and was mentioned in a lot of the film's marketing, especially for the home video release. Ben Affleck was not in Saving Private Ryan, but you have seen him collaborate with Matt Damon many times, and there was an actor named Edward Burns who bares a bit of a resemblance to him. I hope not many of you have made this mistake, but some people remember Angelina Jolie in the original Mission Impossible. It was an actress named Emanuelle Beart... thank God, since she was playing the wife of Jon Voight - Jolie's father. And of course, anyone who watched The X-Files as a kid might remember some episodes with David Duchovney as Agent Mulder, when it was really his replacement, Robert Patrick as Agent Doggett.
Sometimes, a movie or show doesn't go the way you were expecting, or you think "wouldn't this have been better" and your mind dwells on your own version more than on how it actually happened, then, years later, you only remember your version. In some cases, so many people were thinking the same thing, that when you mention your ending later, others say "Oh, yeah! That was great!"
DOLLY'S BRACES She never had any. But she did have pigtails which, like braces, are often associated with youth and feminine cuteness. Add to that the fact that Jaws had metal teeth and you were rooting for them to get together, and it would have given them some great common ground. So when she gave that slow, shy smile at the end, you saw what you wanted to see.
THEY WERE DEAD THE WHOLE TIME! That's not how Lost ended. Whine all you want, or just go and watch it again and pay attention. It was such a popular theory that people were simply expecting it. The popularity of the theory inspired the producers to give us a glimpse into the afterlife in the last season, but by the end, it was made very clear that everything that happened on the island really happened. Christian might as well have been looking directly into the camera when he spelled it out for his son. But many of you couldn't accept that your theory was wrong. If you watched the Jimmy Kimmel Live special that immediately followed the finale, you saw that even Jimmy subscribed to this theory and refused to let it go. It was a classy move for the cast to refrain from berating him about it on his own show.
AVE SOL INVICTUS! The Sun is classified as a yellow dwarf star, which is why it has always been drawn yellow. Since you were a kid, you drew the Sun with a yellow crayon. When you were older, you learned that sunlight is white light, which is composed of every color in the spectrum. White light surrounds us all the time, but we don't see it. We only see the colors that are reflected off surfaces based on their material composition. The Sun EMITS white light, but it APPEARS yellow, or orange-yellow.
That's all I've got for now. I hope I've given you lots to think about and would love to hear your responses!

SPIRIT E-210 LP BLK (USA) #3711001... restoration or replacement?
I moved into a rental house this year and it came with a gas grill - a Weber Spirit E-210. I've only ever used charcoal grills, and I took care of mine (had to get rid of it in a cross-country move). This grill was not cared for well. It was made in 2010 and I am not sure it was cleaned (except the grill plates) since then.
Today I finally tackled looking into it - I've not used it yet. The LP hose was dry and cracked and the igniter was shot. It took me 3 hours to get just the basic parts out because of rust around the screws (particularly the burner bars). The plates, flavorizors, burner bars, and warming basket were deeply rusted. I am not sure they are recoverable. The igniter had some blowback and was melted and the igniter button had standing water in it because the button was off and I live in the Seattle area. No cover means a lot of moss and pollen coverage.
I got new major parts (still in boxes) to replace the severely rusted components. But, I was wondering about the cookbox. I am not experienced with restoring grills but was wondering if this 14-year old grill is worth the trouble. The cookbox looks like a mix of "ok" and "rusted" / carbon-saturated. I used a non-metal bristle brush to scrape off the major carbon. Here's a picture of a light cleaning I did after wrestling the components out.
Was hoping to get folks experience on the state of this grill. The lid is caked with flaky carbon but looks ok. I think structurally the cook box looks sound (I need to really look at the igniter area), but not sure if this grill is worth restoring, or replacing the cookbox ($250) or getting a new grill. Appreciate any feedback.
Cookbox of doom!

2024.06.02 02:54 Straight-Finance-271 Help puppy got plant

Ok so the plant is older than me . My grandpa got it and he died before i was born this is literally an inherited plant over 40 years old . I know my sister got a cutting off it years ago and got it to grow. Dad got a new puppy and mom and dad were drowning the plant before . I had just repotted it into a smaller ceramic pot instead of a giant plastic one with more perlight orchid bark and rocks for arriation and to get it out of the mud that was growing mold when the puppy got ahold of it . He bit off a large section of it but the main plant was still ok . I did block it off but he got to it again and ripped out the main plant and pulled most of the roots off it . I put it back in a larger pot with more bark and lava rocks mixed in . I added some root powder does anyone have any other suggestions ? I also got it a stick support with I think coconut on it instead of the tomatoe cage . .
