Hello, I’ll try and keep this as short as possible. I’m the youngest of 6. My parents split up when I was about 2, so all my memories of my dad are of him living separate from us. As a result, I never had much of a relationship with him. There was always drama or something happening so we just never developed a close relationship. I see him as my dad and am cordial, but I don’t go out of my way to talk or see him. I now have my own family, and while he would appreciate to see my kids I keep him (and to be fair most of the rest of my family) at an arm’s length from my kids.
A few years ago, my brother was all in on sorting through my parents wills and such since they are now getting up in age. In that time, my brother told me one of the things my dad was firm on was that I’d inherit his house. As a kid and growing up, he always would say things along the lines of it being “my house” but I just figured it was another lie. Apparently, it was serious. I told my brother that I appreciated the sentiment, but I believed someone else should get the house. I live 4 hours away from my hometown, and the house has never been in what I would call great condition. Aside from the logistical side, I also just don’t value the house because we don’t have that dynamic. To me, it’s just something to make him feel better over the missed relationship between us and I just think it would be better for one of my other siblings who actually had him in their lives to get it. There’s one who lives in the same town, and another who lives maybe 30-45 mins away.
I told my brother this and was instantly shot down. I was told that he didn’t have the heart to tell him I didn’t want it, and he didn’t want to inherit the house because he was already listed as the power of attorney for all his other accounts and such that he worried about some sort of a tax issue if everything came to him. No matter what I said, the rebuttal was always I was going to get it whether I wanted it or not.
Is there a way that I can circumvent my family and just refuse it? Again, I’m fine and prefer someone else in my family who’s closer to just take it. But basically as it stands there’s no changing it while he’s alive due to my brothers refusal.

For context, my partner and I both work in a niched world of the trades where we work away from home on shift work.... and also for context, we met on a job a few years back. *since then we have worked together (not always directly side by side, but on the same job). This is what makes it extremely hard to go
Backstory: He was in the middle of his divorce when we got together. Due to my situation and his, (at the time) we thought financially it would make the most sense for us to move in. What a mistake. Due to his/our work lifestyle, he only gets his kids on weekends during his days off. Maybe once a month, sometimes twice.
He pays over 2k a month in CS, and over 1.5k in spousal to HCBM. Lawyer fees have been high and rampant. HCBM is always an issue. There isn't enough money leftover to cover his own bills. In-between jobs he claims EI and that just BARELY covers it. It is up for review every July, and in theory, he shouldn't have to pay as much for the next year.
The place we rent, we got under the assumption that both of us would be paying, but that's not what's happening. I am paying the following for our home (AKA everything) / per month I pay: $2350 in rent $370 in utilities $150 for internet and cable ???? in groceries (I also have to pay when both young kids are at our place) I also paid for our renters insurance which was $380 for the year New Clothes for skids is probably spent 65me/35him Who knows what else I'm forgetting......
I have known for a while that resentment has started creeping in. More than creeping in. I am so disengaged from comversations with him, I don't care to be intimate. Basically at this point, it feels as though I am only sticking around on the premise of he has more connections than me at work, and our line of work is very very slow at the moment. Honestly... in a sick n twisted way I feel like it's the least he can do is help get me on a job somewhere as I'm literally covering his AND his kids asses for over the last year. It also is worth mentioning that most of the major big wigs for the company we work for, equally loves us. If we spilt I would still be faced with him almost daily (assumption is most likely case)
When money wasn't such an issue, I don't think I really had such strong resentful and bitter feelings. Or perhaps because he was carrying some part of his half of things, it just pushed those feelings down. Maybe like a bandaid covering
A HUGE thing for me is small white lies he tells about HCBM. He thinks they don't matter, but they do. He lies about when he talks to her, has deleted phone call histories. She's sent pictures of herself with ss and he deleted them thinking I wouldn't see, instead of telling HCBM that's crossing a boundary that had already been established
This is honestly just as big of a problem, if not more than the money tbh. I also resent the fact that he so called "hated this woman, she's awful she's this she's that" and yet chose to have a child with this person. After two miscarriages, still didn't take the precautions and knocked her up... AGAIN. Got married a month after finding out she was pregnant the 3rd time over. "He didn't ask her, she said she should have the same last name as the kid". Like fucking spare me????? If that wasn't enough, it also makes it worse when he decided to knock her up AGAIN 3 years after their first born. I can't believe the stories he's told me about her, and it has unfortunately made me judge him, and made me feel as if I don't know the man I'm with. I resent him for being so careless. People are allowed to have different views on marriage and children, but never have I ever thought I'd be so careless to just have a child with whom someone I "despise". We are very different that way, and it's a problem for me
So. Now I feel incredibly used. I feel incredibly trapped. I feel incredibly drained. If I leave my current trades industry and go back to what I have a degree in, I likely won't be able to pay for all of my bills that I have racked up because of his mess. I am lost, feel hopeless

I remember when I watched Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Lord of the Rings of how disorganized and poorly armed Orcs were in war. With the exception of the Urukais and the War Chiefs, most Orcs only had scraps of armor on were mostly unarmored and all they often had were crude blades. Generally the Orcs did not fight using formations and tactics with the exception of the Siege of Minas Tirith (and even there they only used formations when at the start of the Siege and once they broke through they simply just charging at the enemy with no regards for their safety).
It seems in the Movies every battles the Orcs won were either through sheer numbers or because they fought poorly trained and poorly armed innocent civilians and militia. When they finally fought a well-trained army like the Riders of Rohan and Gondor's men-at-arms, they were either massacred easily or if they did won it was because of sheer numeral advantage and often at the cost of many more Orcs than the humans would lose in the battles.
They don't even have basic hand-to-hand skills (parries, counter attack, angles, distance, etc) and they would use crude attacks like simply overwhelming their enemies with the sheer speeds of their tackles and sword blows and biting the exposed neck area of Gondorian soldiers and so forth.
However after reading the book, I can't help but feel this portrayal of the Orcs really is a mockery of the true might of Sauron. The Orcs in the book are very well-prepared and armed to the teeth with full armor. They are USED many different tactics and strategem and operated like other armies of Middle Earth using proper marches and formations and winning through cunning and well-trained troops.
Even the basic ambush at the start of Two Towers, were the Orcish party carrying Merry all by itself was a VERY tactical fight. The movie portrayed the Orcs as caught completely unprepared and slaughtered within three minutes in a single movie style cavalry charge..
The book describes the battles with such details. The Orcs had scouts around the area so by the time the Riders of Rohan detected them, the Orcs already prepared for the assault. Their troops were waiting for the Riders of Rohan with their foot archers and unlike in the movie, just this mere raid took a WHOLE DAY. Without going into full details, the Orcs were too prepared for the Rohan Riders to simply charge at them and the Rohan Riders had to use deception to defeat the Orcs (such as planting fires at night all over the field to make the Orcs think Rohirrim were sleeping their and waste arrows on those empty areas that had no horsemen). The movie portrayed the Riders as not losing a single horseman-the book described at around thirty were killed.
The Orcs weren't even destroyed in a cavalry charge-they attacked the Rohan Riders directly and it was such an aggressive attack Pippin and Merry were convinced the Riders were losing and took the chance in the melee to escape, though by the time the Rohan Riders have practically fought off the assault and defeated the Orcs the two Hobbits already have been in such panic they ran away to a nearby wood (even though a Rider killed the Orc that was chasing them as opposed to Treebard in the movie).
This is just a BASIC RAID and it already shows just how deadly the Orcs are in war. Nevermind the other major battles like Hornburg (there were Orcs in the Siege unlike int he movie), Siege of Minas Tirith, and even the early raids in Fellowship of the Rings (were the Orcs set up ambushes frequently and nearly killed the members of the Fellowship various times throughout the story in a mere raid with a few arrows almost hitting vital spots).
Does any other Tolkien fan feel the movie does not do justice to the Orcs and portrayed them as unsophisticated barbarians who all they knew was "charge,charge, and charge!"?
I know in the Siege of Minas Tirith the Orcs were shown using siege equipment and in the attack to take back Osgiliath, they actually prepared a defense of archers occupying the high ground to fight off Gondor's Knights in the ROTK movie. But other than that even in battles against Gondor, their basic MO was to charge at the Gondorian soldiers recklessly and out of formations and simply overwhelm them through sheer numbers and ferocity.
I mean for all its big flaws, the Ralph Bakshi movies shows just how threatening the Orcs were. Too many examples ti post but the fact Boromir was barely able to kill three Urukhais in his death scene and they even kept in the scene where the Orcish cheiftain at Mordor was the one to stab Frodo (not some giant troll) is quite surprising in light of Jackson's films.
Even the Rankin-Bass films portray the Goblins with as organized and threatening enough that just a group of them matching Thorin's company in numbers was no pushover and the Dwarven company chose to flee instead of engaging in a melee despite being evenly matched in body count.

I'm a first-year apprentice who did 10 months at an exterior panel company and I quite liked the work. As work on the building wrapped up, I was laid off and so I called my BA to get me more work. He found me a spot at a concrete company and I worked 2 weeks and 3 days before being laid off for "talking back" to my foreman.
Before I detail those interactions, I want to state that I understand that foremen are not here to baby me or be my friend. I get that. The two bosses I had at the panel company seemed like they were always in a bad mood and only capable of shouting aggressively to get a point across. I took it as par for the course and just tried to learn as much as I could and try to be an asset not a liability to the crew.
That said, this concrete foreman had a habit of yelling nasty things and calling people "dipshit motherfucker" and "ignorant fuck" all day long. At the panel company, the bosses would ruthlessly attack what you did and how fast/slow you did it, but they almost never attacked the carpenter. So this was new to me. And mr. concrete didn't say these things in a ball-busting way. I have 3 older brothers and uncles in the trades. I know what ball-busting is. I also heard from pretty much all the laborers and a handful of the carpenters that the foreman was a terror. Only 2-3 of the carpenters said "ha, you get used to it, he's a great guy, really."
One the first occasion where I talked back, the foreman gave improper directions, scolded me when I responded to those, and then I aggressively yelled that his initial instructions were wrong and I was just doing what he said. The second and last time I yelled and cursed back was when he gave vague instructions and scolded me when I didn't immediately do exactly what he wanted. So I did what I understood from his instructions and then asked what the fuck he wanted next. (All of this was him on the ground and me alone on a boom lift btw.) After we stripped the column with the crane, I came down and he said
Him: "You know, you can't talk back to me. That's not how this works." Me: "When you talk to people like they're dogs, are you really surprised when some of them talk back?" Him: "Yes. How hard is it to understand instructions the first time they're given? (silence) That's a question, you got an answer?" Me: "No." Him: "So you want me to give your check? Cuz I don't give a shit." Me: "It's up to you."
I meant that last line to mean, "either talk to me like a human or fire me. It's one or the other." Sure enough, he gave me my paycheck for the week an hour before EOD and I left.
Am I to expect that foremen want to work with spineless pushovers who just take verbal abuse all day? "That's not how this works" to me sounds like "I, the mighty foreman, am supposed to have all the power and you're supposed to bend over and take it." I don't like that shit. Is this going to get me fired a lot?
Could I have handled this better?
Am I an asshole who's trying to make waves and prove a point? Or a naive idealist who believes that apprentices should be spoken to like human beings?

Hey everybody! I did some research for award flights and I think i found a good deal? I would like to hear feedback on it and tell me if I can do better elsewhere or go back to the gameplan.
here is my gameplan going to AMM (Jordan) in september
SFO - JFK (~300 cash or 7,500 Econ/15K Biz) via United JFK - DOH: 70K + 7.65 for J seat Qatar Q Suites DOH - AMM (~300 cash or 7,500 econ/15K Biz) via a middle east airplane
So total just to get there would be either
Cash = $10,500 (10K for the Qsuite) Points = ~85K-100K + or + $500.00 cash for the smaller flights
I'll need to fly back to to SFO but i haven't found any good deals that can take me directly to SFO. I'm seeing points as low as 150K but i don't think that's a great value. the lowest i found would be from Air India or Ethiopian Airlines which ive read is not good J class to take.

1. Is the point redemption from JFK-DOH for QSuites good?

2, am I dumb to book separate flights to get to JFK & AMM? i don;t mind taking economy since they're Less then 5 hour flights

Greetings to everyone. Has anyone here worked at EWR7? I worked there for about a year from 2022 to 2023. I was very disappointed by my experience especially with the senior leadership team. I was signed on as a Full Time L1 Blue Badge Associate. I worked night shifts and quickly became fully trained in all roles. I actually was one of the few associates who was fully cross- trained in every process path at the site. Because of my unique skill set in both Problem Solve/ ICQA and Ship Dock I was consistently moved around for "business needs". I was very excited to be given more responsibilities. I quickly signed up for ASC ( Associate Safety Club).
However... Despite my initial success at EWR7. I faced a lot of bullying and harassment. I am of Indian- Middle Eastern ethnicity. I am a male of 26 years old with facial hair. I never once felt comfortable working at EWR7. I remember managers directly disrespecting me multiple times. I suffered from an injury in which I had a deep puncture wound in my hand. I had bled out all on the floor. I was shocked and lost a lot of blood. My direct manager was not on site that day. I felt like I was being interrogated by another female manager on how I got injured. She told me to clock out and head to the nearest hospital. Mind you, I was almost unconscious and couldn't really even walk properly. I ended up just clocking out and drove myself to the nearest ER....
In conclusion I did sue EWR7 and I won. I even had an appeal call to the current Senior OM. He is such a piece of shit. I had constantly posted on the VOA board addressing my concerns and barriers. Yet I was never spoken to or even acknowledged... EWR7 at Avenal New Jersey is ran by incompetent and unprofessional management... It is seriously like these managers read the 48 Laws of Power and take every law seriously. I mean there is no reasoning, logic or humanity in this workplace. I was treated like a dog. From being shunned because of my injury, becoming a liability to the workplace I tried to excel at.
Remember EWR7 you are nothing. David always beats Goliath. I'm so happy everyday I sued and I did win by the way. I also was the only Associate in history at EWR7 to be both in the top 1% for productivity and ALSO being the first ever Associate to spill blood on the floor...
Thank you for everything EWR7. You taught me how to assess and identify narcissistic co workers while protecting my own business. It is very sad actually because I fucking loved the job man... There was no better feeling being an L1 Associate running Problem Solve and Ship Dock. My direct AM was an amazing manager. The job was so easy for me , it actually is crazy how hard EWR7 worked to make it as hard as possible...

I need to access and "do stuff" to the pixels in each from of video coming from HDMI RX then pass the resulting pixels/frames back through to HDMI TX.
I currently have the most basic setup working: HDMI RX > HDMI PHY > HDMI TX ip cores from xilinx. I can see that there's an "AXI Stream Video" interface that gives the raw pixels as TDATA in RGB888 format, and I can do simple things like grayscale conversion or other things to the pixels that don't add a lot of latency, and pass the TDATA resultant back to the HDMI TX (via test pattern generator pass-through which supposedly helps clean up timing).
But what if i want to do something that takes significant amount of time, at a slower clock rate? first i was thinking that's just two axi stream FIFOs (one to convert from ~300MHz axi stream video clock to some slower clock with appropriate fifo depth, then one from from the "slower" clock domain back to the fast clock). Then I remembered that the bare metal example can automatically setup and configure a framebuffer read and framebuffer write core, and since those use PS-connected DDR, I have access to a lot of fast memory. I had read that, even though the IP core settings don't show it, the framebuffer can only hold 32 frames at a time, and therefore the "stuff" i want to do needs to happen with a clock that is at slowest 1/32 the pixel clock, which is roughly 300MHz for 4k.
My goal here is to do stuff to pixels or frames or whatever and have everything "end up" back into a valid frame with correct timing. Startup or buffering delay isn't an issue, i just need the ultimate HDMI TX output to be running at full 4k speed. It should help that I really only need to be working in grayscale, but i haven't found a way to "force" the HDMI RX sink to be grayscale such that my original video source (for now just the HDMI output on my laptop) outputs packed Y8 format. but i don't think HDMI even supports that so I've just been doing a direct, clockless RGB to grayscale conversion (it's a formula that converts the 3 8-bit colors to a single 8-bit value, which is copied out to all 3 pixels, resulting in a grayscale image that's in 24-bit packed RGB888 format; i.e., the resulting 24-bit pixel value is just R=G=B, the calculated 8-bit value)
anyway, I know there's a video timing generator ip core, but i was thinking the hdmi tx core handles all that already, and i just need to provide a "valid" axi stream video input.

So I’m 18M and I have a half brother who is the same age as me. We’ll call him Cameron. Our dad got two women pregnant around the same time. I’m older by 6 months. My dad chose Cameron’s mom over mine and they’re married now. Cameron is his parents’ only child.
Anyway so I’ve always felt like I was just a backup son for my dad. I know he does love me, but not as much as Cameron. I live an hour and a half away from him but he would always make the drive to come see me when I was younger and still does to this day. If I ever need anything he’ll make sure I get it. He took me on trips all the time with just me and him. But still I felt like an outsider. He would constantly put me second to Cameron. If we both had sports games on the same day he would always go to Cameron’s with his wife. Once when I had an award ceremony he couldn’t come because Cameron was sick (it was just a cold btw). When I wanted him to teach me how to drive he said he couldn’t because he promised Cameron he would teach him first but that he’d help me after Cameron got his license. I could list off a bunch of other examples. My dad would show up to my stuff but if Cameron had something going on at the same time he wouldn’t come.
Cameron and I aren’t friends. We get along fine if we’re together but neither of us is going out of the way to talk to the other. I think he’s spoiled and obviously our dad’s favorite. Our dad and his mom did him no favors because his grades are bad and his life has no direction. He didn’t apply to any colleges and he won’t even get a part time job.
We’re both graduating high school this year. His school district released their graduation schedule after mine and of course our graduations are on the same day at the same time. We live an hour and a half apart so obviously our dad can’t make it to both. He’s known my graduation date for weeks before Cameron learned his. We already had plans for him to come and spend the day here. But I knew as soon as I saw that schedule he was gonna flake. At first he said he wasn’t sure what he was gonna do. He’s been avoiding the topic for weeks but our graduations are on the 29th so he has to decide now.
Well yesterday he took me to dinner. He told me that he was going to go to Cameron’s graduation. He said it was because Cameron’s grandparents weren’t gonna be able to make it and Cameron would only have his mom while I have my mom, stepdad, siblings, and grandparents all coming to mine. So I told him okay, I want to go to this one weekend event that is on the same week he’s going to Hawaii. He told me he can’t because that’s when they’re going to Hawaii. I didn’t actually wanna go to this event, I was just proving a point. I told him to postpone his Hawaii trip so he can take me to the event. He said he can’t because everything is already paid for and non-refundable. I told him that he’s missing my high school graduation. The least he can do is make me the priority when it comes to the graduation trips. He said I’d have to pick a different weekend. I told him he doesn’t actually care about making it up to me. He’s only okay with what I want so long as it doesn’t interfere with his real family. He denied it and told me to try to understand the position he’s in.
I told him straight up that he always chooses Cameron over me. For once I want to be the first choice. So I said I’ll have a ticket ready for him but that if he doesn’t come I’ll know where I stand in his life. I don’t care about a makeup trip. I 20 questioning, have had problems with gender since i can remember. i live in a small town in alberta, extremely conservative city, family, and environment. i came out as lesbian at a very young age, maybe 12? very shortly after is when my gender dysphoria had begun. i had thought a lot about my childhood and how i had acted, my interests, the way i would dress. even when i was so so tiny it was always hot wheels. spider man and toys intended for little boys. the movies and shows i liked. even my friends had always been boys. my entire life i was very uncomfortable with my body and not only others perceiving it, but myself as well. i would wear hoodies throughout all of elementary and middle school in the blazing heat because of how i felt in my body. to this day i refuse to wear shorts or skinny jeans. i have gotten better with wearing shirts but i feel the most comfortable is men’s large shirts, despite my build being quite petite. i had came out as trans when i was 13, i had asked to be called a new name and to be referred to with he/him pronouns. i kept it a secret from my family due to fear of a bad outcome or to a bad reaction. i had made a post eventually on my instagram stating i am trans and that i wished for everyone to use the terms i’m comfortable with. it had gotten to my parents and immediately things went south. i had been told to delete the post, i wasn’t allowed out of the house, allowed to go to school, see my friends and had all my electronics taken away. they scolded me and told me it was a phase, that is was not the truth, and told me i will regret telling people this. they were angry and they had told me i am a disappointment. after a few months it had all slowly been forgotten. everyone went back to referring to me as she her, my birth name and i had began building a relationship with both my parents again. still being uncomfortable with my body and who i was, i had done what i could to try and force these feelings away. when i had my first girlfriend, before we started dating she had been my bestfriend for years, she had always told me she was straight despite my attempts at starting something more than friends. one thing lead to the next and we did end up together. it was extremely toxic, she had cheated on me with boys, many many many boys. it sent me back into this mindset that i was disgusting for being who i was. i felt extremely envious towards the boys she had liked, “why not me” was always the thought. and it had always went back to because i’m not a boy. why cant i be a boy. i wish i was a boy. we ended things and it continued to my next relationship. through both relationships i had many sexual problems. i hated being touched, i hated being seen. i had to top always and using a strap felt so euphoric. through the years i had always felt not okay with my gender. fast forward to 19 i am about to move in with my 3rd girlfriend. we had been talking for years, i love her so much. we were having some issues very early on in the relationship, she began having feelings for a coworker, a trans man. it broke my heart and it felt worse than when my previous gfs have had feelings for cis men. i was so jealous. and a lot of it had to do with the fact he is trans. i no longer hold resentment towards her, it was a long time ago and we have resolved our past issues, now better than ever. but there are still times i think about him. how i wish i could be like him. i have recently cut my hair, a lot. and it feels so so good because i was never able to when i had lived with my parents. i have been researching a lot about testosterone, and surgeries i could get. i have came to the conclusion that i am going to be talking to my doctor about hrt. i believe i am trans masc. i’ve always been very masculine, but i don’t know if i’m a trans man? i very much could be but i have a lot of past trauma that may cloud my judgement, and i am dealing with some denial. i haven’t told my girlfriend yet and i am nervous to, she is so accepting and i know how much she loves me. it’s just nerve racking. i’m nervous about starting t and having physical changes because i see my family pretty often. although i want those physical changes so bad, i’m worried at putting my relationship with them at risk again. i am on cipralex (lexapro) so i’m not sure if t will interact with that. and i don’t know much about the side effects, such as nausea or headaches or anything. i’m worried a lot about how i will be perceived by my friends (a lot of them being the same friends i had when i had came out as trans the first time), perceived by strangers or people i know. i’m thinking about either gel or shots, but i don’t know a lot about pricing either. i’m not sure what is and isn’t covered by healthcare and i’m not sure the steps i have to take to begin hrt. i know this was a lot, i’m just looking for some advice and help with everything i’ve talked about.

I genuinely had no idea the depth this season would have. I just finished my second rewatch, watching edits, and reading people's analyses and metas. Nic was right when she said this season was romance because, wow, I’m speechless at just how much there is to their story. It keeps you going back, thinking, and pondering. On my second rewatch, it struck me that it wasn't the kiss that awakened Colin's feelings. I wouldn't have thought so until someone mentioned on twitter it wasn't the kiss Colin has a flashback of before he goes to the ball. it was the scene Pen wraps his hand with a cloth. I rewatched the show after that to pay closer attention and wow did so many things stand out to me the second time around. Maybe it was the candle that sparked that memory, but even then, was her wrapping his wound so significant to him that it prompted him to go to the ball, interrupt her dance, cause a scandal, and then chase her carriage?
Colin's behavior towards her has been odd the entire season. First, Penelope not responding to his letters messed him up. It made him realize that although he's always cherished her as a friend, she had a much more profound impact on him, and he didn’t notice until she was no longer there. He tries to talk to her, but she walks away, giving him the cold shoulder. He is left shook.
He sees her at the ball in her stunning dress. He keeps staring at her, so aware of her, constantly tracking her. Then she leaves, running up the stairs and passing him. He leaves his friends behind to go after her, despite their advice not to concern himself with her. They have that moment where he tells her he misses her, but in a much different way than he would have spoken to her last season or the season before that. "If you're going to make it, say it. I miss you." Not "I missed you," but "I miss you."
This distinction is crucial. "I missed you" implies a past tense, a temporary void that has now been filled. "I miss you," however, conveys a present, ongoing longing. It shows that his feelings are current and that her absence affects him deeply and continuously. This moment is pivotal because it reveals a more vulnerable and sincere side of Colin, one that he hasn't shown to others this season.
Colin is showing a different side of himself to everyone this season, including his own family. He's trying to present a more composed and assertive version of himself to the world. He really, really likes her. And he missed her so much, and being around her again is literally lifting his spirits.
One of my favorite moments is when they are at the market. Colin brings up the story of when they first met, leaning in and saying, "teasing me. Mercilessly, in fact." When he follows with, "I think I know why," it stands out to me because you can just see how different he is when he's with her compared to anyone else this season. Even with his family, his light is dim, and there is a cloud hanging over him. But with Penelope, especially in this scene, it's like a man who finally saw the sun after being stuck in endless rain. At this moment, I don't think he knows he likes her romantically, but he likes her even more than he did before. He notices how she makes him feel. He loves their banter and how clever and witty she is.
Penelope freaks out when he says this because she thinks she knows, and she keeps on walking. They are momentarily covered from each other by the rugs, and then Colin pops out and continues his sentence. Everything about it is so playful and flirtatious, even if unconsciously at this point. He’s just having so much fun, and it’s very different from how he used to interact with her before. Hence, why I believe they chose to play that song at this moment.

Hello everyone, today I ran a session, 3 level 4 player, a cleric a monk and a barbarian. The quest was to go in an underground cave that was found in some noble cellar. There was a bridge to cross that was really dangerous and they decided to rush it and with some bad rolls they nearly fell in a bottomless pit surviving by falling on a little edge taking some damage and exhaustion for climbing while carrying the people who couldn't climb. After that they went in another part of the cave and fought 1 phase spider defeated it but they were already low on health. They rested a bit and took the wrong way and ended up in a poisonous mushroom trap that chipped away at their hp. Finally they arrived at the end of the cave where there was a huge broken bridge and they were ambushed by troglodytes, a lot of them and far from them was a beholder. The beholder shot randomly its beam at creature nuking mostly troglodyte, he wasn't there to fight PCs just to scare them as it couldn't come to them and I didn't make him shot at them, or barely. Important note before every quest I gave my pc time to prep and there is 3 NPCs that can provide them with lots of infos on the mob they will fight and how to prep for said monster. At the end of the session they fled the cave to avoid the beholder and one of them was shot with death Ray (I rolled d10 for Ray and bad luck) my PC failed his save and died. People were upset but I told them they could revive PC if they have gold or help some important cleric in exchange for revive. My PC were really annoyed by the end of session saying that this was too hard that the fact that they were poisoned was BS (they had antidote that I provided for free) and that they couldn't fight all the monster (I gave them a stone of conjure earth elemental last session that they didn't use and it's unlimited use).also I have tendency to roll really high and they don't (one of them rolled Nat 1 8 time this session) So am I too harsh on them ? Should I make things easier ? All the other session they were fine with difficulties so I'm confused.

A week and a half ago a doctor gave me three trigger point injections (two in my neck, one in my shoulder blade) since I didn't want to do a steroid shot in my nerve because I get way anxious when on steroids and he told me if we do trigger point injections the steroid is less.
Anyway, since having them done I've had 9 migraines and last night had awful pinched nerve pain in my neck. It's been off and on today (with hand weakness and nausea too) and I've taken a low dose Advil to help (thankfully it's just pain and not a migraine like it was last night).
