How did I do— Leased Mach E GT
Just leased the 2023 Mustang Mach E GT performance with nite pony package. Put $2500 down for 39 months, 10,500 miles per year, $550/month OTD. Called several dealers around the area and all the other offers were much higher for this trim. This dealer started at $599/month and I got them to agree to $550/month. How did I do?

2024.05.20 06:19 gkcontra GT Premium or Dark Horse?

Looking to buy my wife a new car to replace her flooded ecoboost and Mustang is obviously on the list. I had told myself last year the Dark Horse was way over priced but now I am wondering. We found one local that she likes, at least in pictures. Her previous car was 8 years old and had 33k miles and she drives less now than back then. So will Dark Horse hold its value since it will be low miles or should I get her into a cheaper GT Premium that will also get low miles?

2024.05.20 05:57 PhorusGump Does Your WRX/STI Draw Attention From Others?

I'll start off by saying I've never been a car guy until I bought my '13 STI a few weeks ago 😂 i fell in love on the test drive and knew that I wanted it. The fastest car I've owned was a '97 V6 convertible Mustang lol.
I've always been into sport bikes for the cheap power and the wide openness.
Anyways, I've noticed this car draws a lot of attention and I don't know how I feel about it because my social anxiety 😂 people are constantly turning their heads (well not constantly, but still) . Literally, soon as i pulled out of the dealership, a sport biker waved at me, and it threw me off guard 😂 lol. It's a very new feeling to me. I kind of like it. There aren't many other wrx in my area. I drive for a living and have only seen 3-4 other wrx's, so maybe it's the rarity of it that draws attention. idk.

2024.05.20 03:42 OriginalJaycee Need insight from Audi owners

I’ve been doing my research on Audis to be exact my main concern is the correct selection ? It’ll be a A & B car w/ mods 😎 so if the guys was to step out I’d keep up.
I’ve been looking at
A7s 2017-2021 & S4 3.0T 2018-2019
Heard they’re good cars would it be a good decision to mod & use the car for daily task such as work & living life?
If not what’re other cars outside of mustangs & dodge that can provide the same HP & maybe less complications that’s under the Audi brand ? (if any major ones or minor annoying ones)

2024.05.20 03:21 redditpluto New fun car options?

New car options that are fun to drive and mod?
I am saving up a good bit of money to get myself a new/new to me car. I am going to be 24 years old by the time I save up and am ready to buy. I originally had my eyes set on a 2023 and up silverado work truck (I could care less about anything fancy, I am a simple man and prefer less eletronics to break) with the turbomax because I find that engine interesting. But deep down I am a muscle car guy and really like quick fun cars to spice up my commute. I have looked at c5 through c7 corvettes, dodge chargers t's and scat packs, camaros, mustangs, etc... What are some fun cars, not necessarily American muscle either, that could be gotten with $35k with low mileage, are pretty dang reliable, and can be modded to have fun if I decide to? I am rather handy with cars but do not want to spend a lot of time fixing things that break quickly.
I have been cursed with too many choices lol.

I tried to delete my phone from the car’s phone list and forget the mustang from my phones devices and reconnect but wireless app projection still wouldnt work.

Can anyone tell me if this plaque is still at what was/is? know as the Manhattan Beach Scout House at 1617 N. Valley Drive?
I'm coming to L.A. soon and want to see this plaque, but there doesn't seem to be any recent articles on the condition of the property, that to my understanding, had been in rough condition a few years ago.

2024.05.20 02:04 192hp Fun second car, 20k and below. Splitting with family member

Hi all, a family member and I are considering splitting a fun performance-orientated car. Doesn’t need to be a convertible, but has to be sporty. So far we’ve considered but aren’t 100% sure on:
-Miata (all hail) -mustang convertible -early 2000’s Porsche boxster -mid 2000’s vette.
What else should we consider? Thanks all!

2024.05.20 01:40 That_Satisfaction567 Hard shifting

I just recently bought a 2022 mustang ecoboost fastback, absolutely love it but as of late I’ve really noticed it shifting pretty hard, while driving but especially switching from reverse to drive and vice versa, you can feel the whole car shake and jump hard, the only performance I’ve noticed is my mpg dropping pretty consistently. I don’t know much about cars, I bought it used from an actual ford dealership (only 30k miles) and they were pretty shady about it, so much so my bank wouldn’t believe it was an actual dealership. Is this normal, or is it something I need to be concerned about?

Help with Fuel trims
I have a 2014 Mustang gt, What can these fuel trim indicate? The car is idling and they’re sitting pretty high, the second one is me holding the rpm’s around 2k and the third is after letting it fall back to idle. And the third one is at idle after holding rpm. I’m getting a p0300 and a p2196.

2024.05.20 00:24 AffectionateFan6174 Engine light keeps coming on..

I just bought a 2017 Mustang EcoBoost w 63k miles a month and a half ago. Engine light came on 3 weeks after I bought it. Scanned it was a cylinder 3 misfire, Took it to mechanic he replaced spark plugs and ignition coils. A week later comes on again same thing cylinder 3 misfire, replaced again. Now 2 weeks later today the engine light just came back on and the auto zone said it says consult mechanic. I’m not familiar with cars and I’m going to take it to mechanic tomorrow. Anybody think they know what it might be. All I know is that the dealership had cleared the codes so this was an issue it had before. It’s been too frustrating
Also, I put 87 (regular gas). That might be causing this as well? Because the dealer told me put regular but I see all over posts and stuff saying to use 89 or 91 which is maximum here in my area.

2024.05.20 00:01 pokemaster787 Looking for a new small, boring, commuter car

Template here (I noticed the template after I typed up everything else):
I require a car with 4 doors. I do not need room for cargo or passengers. At most 4 passengers in the vehicle at a time, 95% of the time just myself.
My price range is $30k max.
This car will primarily be used for commuting.
Price range (not including Tax/title): $30k
Minimum # of seats: 4
Must haves (mpg/fast/high seating position/tech): Fuel efficient (40+ mpg), Adaptive Cruise Control, backup camera, blind side monitoring, and Android Auto (prefer wired, having the wireless option can't hurt though)
Pretty sure my 2012 Cruze Eco is finally dying at 180,000 miles, after dumping another $1600 into it for repairs only for it to crap out on me again I'm thinking it's time to move on and buy my first new car, so I've started a bit of scouting on what's available.
Budget I would put at a max of $30k, I'd really prefer the $25k range though.
What matters to me: Safety features, fuel economy, reliability. I view my car as a tool and an expense, I don't drive for fun and don't want to spend a ton of time doing maintenance or troubleshooting issues. I'd really prefer a sedan style over an SUV/crossover, but I wouldn't be opposed to a smaller crossover or hatchback. Open to electric but since the Chevy Bolt is kill I don't think there's anything worth looking at in my price range anymore.
Right now what I'm seeing that most fits this is the 2024 Corolla Hybrid, although it seems the blind side monitor is an optional package on the LE trim, and no dealers in my area have it. Stock in general seems to be low for these as well, I see a few dealers say they have them on the lot but no way to know if those are already spoken for. I can't really wait 2-3 months to order a custom built one, if that's even if a reasonable time frame.
Any other vehicles I should be looking at and considering? I'm really just looking for something super reliable and practical, I will drive this thing for 10 years until it dies on me. If it changes anything I do have an employee discount through GM, but nothing they make really seems to meet my wants (except for the discontinued Chevy Bolt).
I've looked around for used vehicles and it seems there isn't much that isn't super high in mileage or barely cheaper than buying new in my area. Honestly I'd happily spend another $5k to get a current model year with 0 miles vs. getting $5k off for something with 50,000 miles on it.

2024.05.19 23:28 GroovyGregg P2098 code - Which 02 sensor

Got a P2098 code on my 2014 Mustang GT which reads “Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 2”. The check engine light flickered a few times before staying on and I smell a faint carbon smell when I exit the car, which makes sense since its only on that side and bank 2 should be driver side. This is my first time ever dealing with O2 sensors/exhaust so I want to make sure I have my facts straight: should it be the pre-cat sensor falsely reading, the post-cat, or both? Thank you in advance!

2024.05.19 23:05 Sandinmypants34 Ignition problems

2006 mustang GT vin H 4.6
Some background I’m very mechanical savvy I’ve done a camshaft job and all maintenance myself. Ive tried using google, I got results for peoples keys getting stuck, but not my issue.
Guys I need some help on this one. I recently picked up an 06 mustang gt I’ve owned and taken care of one before so this issue baffles me. With the key out and car off the Ignition will stay on randomly with the key out. When I put the key in and turn to the first position the dash will go black and start dinging reminding to take my keys if I was leaving but they are locked in the cylinder until I turn it to the off position and the dash will stay lit up, then I found out the dash lights will turn off if I push the clutch pedal in with the key out. :/
Only codes I have are for the fuel sending unit circuit I need to get a pump to put in as the level unit is faulty. otherwise the car starts normally and everything comes to life when I turn on accessory.
I suspect the ignition switch may be the culprit, is the neutral safety wired to the ignition switch?
TIA

2024.05.19 23:04 N_nodroG Muscle Cars… I’m glad I’ve been alive to have been part it. Sadly, I think they are now a thing of the past…

When someone says muscle car, the ‘69 Camaro in satin black stirs something deep inside me, or the 1962 Corvette rag top, a car of absolute beauty and desire - that TV show with the Devil and the hot cop, what a car.
These 1960/1970s icons of motor vehicles with not many luxuries, terrible brakes and suspension, but an impressive sized big block up front, what cars…
Australia decided to join in the fun and games and gave birth to the SLR, A9X and the XY GT - the latter being two of the most impressive things to come from our shores car wise, but that I think was the end of the muscle car and tech started taking over.
Many will argue that there are still some muscle cars being made, and I don’t wholly disagree, and it’s just a shame Australia left the car game as some of the last XR8s and Clubsports were amazing (tech) cars. America has lost the way with what we’re once the muscle car icons such as the Mustang, Camaro and a Corvette and these have become very mainstream tech mobiles. Germany entered the game in the mid 2000s with the V8 C Class AMG - but again, also a tech car not really a muscle car.
I’ve owned many “tough cars”, but never a true “muscle car” and I truely envy those who do own one of these works of art. My current V8 is a German AMG (as have been my previous 5 cars) and although they are mentally fast cars, they don’t offer that raw car feeling my LH SLR 5000 offered or even previous to that my 6 cylinder LJ XU1. The AMGs still get that deep down feeling happening with the amazing turbo-charged V8 sound though.
I miss those Friday nights when Inwas in my 20s rumbling down Main Street hoping the green light would turn red with me and a contender in the lane next to me with an equally animal car on pole position waiting on the green - 2 Toranas at the lights with noisy V8s was always a crowd stopper.
This is obviously only my opinion, and I’m keen to hear others thoughts and opinions.
Everyone’s opinion is different and no one is right and wrong.

2024.05.19 22:15 MostExcellentK9 Rust on frame behind weatherstrip

Rust on frame behind weatherstrip
Just got a 1990 fox mustang and was doing the door weatherstrip when I saw this rust when pulling it off. Being an AZ native (and still living in AZ), I don't see rust almost ever and certainly not on cars. It's definitely not just surface rust as the paint has bubbled in other spots and it's flaking off. I started sanding it a tiny bit and it looks like the top layer of sheet metal is almost all rust in the spot where the weatherstrip clamps to towards the inside. I don't need it to look pretty with a paint match and everything as it will be covered by weatherstrip and with the door closed you won't see most of it. However, I don't want to just cover it up again and forget about it if it will possibly get worse. I know next to zero about autobody stuff so I figured I'd ask here for some guidance.
