2024.05.20 04:15 ishouldbedoingbetter How often can I dry PETG filament?

I dried my PETG for around 12 hours at 55°C a few days ago and it’s still having weird print issues. It’s been raining a lot here and my printer is in a pretty hot and humid garage. Just curious if I would ruin it by trying to dry it again.

2024.05.20 04:14 breadluvr444 split transactions among groups

do they bother you? i used to do it sometimes before i worked at tj’s (but usually in a double cart with only a few things each so it was easily separated) and now since ive worked here ive realized how annoying they can be.
maybe its different by store, but i work at supposedly one of the busiest locations in the country. i just get super annoyed when two ppl come up at once with a double cart but each level is filled to the brim. or when everything is mixed together in one big cart so they have to hand each individual item to me so i know what goes in what. i feel like its easier for everyone if transactions just get split in separated carts/registers cause they could get rung up at the same time and leave quicker??

2024.05.20 04:14 Jak_boiLIV Input from those experienced in network / Sysadmin

17 yr old, graduated school early, currently working with counselor for employment assistance which led to recommendation to LearnKey. No “IT” classes or clubs in school but always interested and enjoy tinkering and troubleshooting with both hardware and software. Have minimal web development knowledge, like surface level stuff( HTML, CSS, Java, C). Not necessarily interested in app or web development & have no qualms about learning about it, but would like to be involved behind the scenes, like maintaining server racks and networks with occasional end user troubleshooting.
Currently reading the A+ book from Mike Meyers and honestly a lot of the stuff clicks and makes sense, with the occasional thing I’ll have to look up; will prob read the book twice and mix in some YouTube video tutorials to fill in gaps (Messer, Network Chuck, Tech Gee, & even LTT coming in clutch) .
Don’t know if any of this makes sense or even the right place to ask, but figured I’d ask; how did you get to where you are now? (Most likely than not, help desk / very entry level, which is fine, absolutely do not mind; would like that as well, boots on ground and learn ropes before trying to run. However most “entry level” job postings I’ve seen ask for 2-4 years experience, among other things). If you could go back and do it differently, would you? and how? Any time or resources you spent learning something you wish you would’ve focused on something else?
LearnKey offers what they call signature programs. And am interested in their Entry level cyber security program, which includes: 1. CompTIA IT Fund 2. A+ 3. Net+ 4. Sec+ 5. EC Council Ethical Hacking Essentials (EHE) 6. Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
and additionally a entry level cybersecurity digital forensics course which includes those 6, plus: * EC-Council Digatal Forensics Essnt. (DFE) * Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI)
Alternatively on shorter time frames & different curriculums, a course containing just: * CompTIA IT Fund. * ITS network Security * ITS cybersecurity * EC Council Network Defense Essentials
And another one with only: * CompTIA IT Fund. * ITS network Security * EC Council Digital Forensics Essentials
Ideally, would opt for Advance level networking that includes: * CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+ * EC Council Network Defense Essentials (NDE) * Certified Network Defender (CND) * Cisco Certified Network Associate (200-301)
but I know well enough I’m not anywhere near “advanced” in terms of knowledge and skill. Although, I am offered the opportunity to “upskill” down the road so that’s why I’m leaning on an entry level program (besides not wanting to overestimate myself). I’m also definitely not trying to take shortcuts or rush through any of the learning process (that’s kinda the part I enjoy most, well after actually applying what was learned), so don’t mind “taking” time to learn. The time will pass regardless.
I know it’s a long post, I’ll most likely cross post to reach different opinions and views. Basically I’m just asking for some guidance and experience from those that know more than I do. Not to familiar with the ITS certs, and could be wrong but from the research I’ve done, have been led to believe the CompTIA ones hold some more weight.
Long term goal would like to aim for, (junior) System / Network Admin / Specialist, LAN Admin / Specialist, IT Specialist or something along those lines. Would the courses, if any, qualify for any of these roles?
Any input or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a great day.

2024.05.20 04:13 SaltyAqua77 Can letting a motorcycle rest a bit get it to turn back on? Like the spark charges somehow when the bike is off?

I was riding my bike in the freeway and it died on me. I thought it was the gas so I walked it over to pump gas but didn’t have to fill as much as I usually do.
The spark thing works it makes the effort sound but when I try to move the choke to “give it more strength” it gives out. There was one moment it turned on but was weak and then died.
If I try to spare it and rev it instantly gives up.
Can constantly trying eventually kill the battery, and will waiting somehow give it time to rest and try again? How long should I wait?

2024.05.20 04:12 JonMor45 Player Difficulty and Map Size?

Is there a link between a player's difficulty level and the map size? When I play solo, I play on Intermediate, and I do random to give myself some variation in maps. However, 90% of the time I get a large map, either the school, prison, or Sunny Meadows. I might get a small or medium map, but that's pretty rare. Which is odd considering that small and medium maps take up half of the locations in the game.
And it doesn't matter what day it is. I could stop playing for 2 days, come back, and still get the large maps.
Is that just bad RNG, or is there some link that I don't know about?

2024.05.20 04:12 Naganosupreme Crow Country- Beginning of the Game Recap and Review

Right off the bat, seeing a counter go down from 2024 to 1990 made me think there's some kind of flashback at play. Given the reverence the devs have for the past and the fact literal first second of the game is spent in 2024 (on a technicality), maybe we play across multiple characters and eras at some point? It could just be a nice visual gimmick telling the player the game takes place in 1990 but given the stellar reviews, Im expecting everything to have some kind of hidden purpose insttead of just being a gimmick.
And to follow up on that, Mara is very insistent she is Mara Forest and I better really remember that she is Mara Forest, Special Agent. Me thinks the lady dost insist too much! Given what I said before, I'm sure you know what Im already guessing about her identity.
First screen- a small, run down employee parking lot with an abandoned car covered in debris, some chain link around me and some trash bags sitting around. This screen gave me some time to figure out things, like I had no clue I could move the camera at first, thought it was like RE with tank controls and static images. A few screens later I'd look around while running down a straightaway and realize "Omg thats right, I can see this area in full 3D, it's not static. Oh cool look at the back of this thing! Oooo memos on the walls!" The notion I could look around for tons of info and puzzle? Loved it.
But Im getting ahead of myself. FIrst screen. Unlimited ammo in the trunk? You bet I started trying to shoot out car windows and objects. Nothing broke, I was sad. Welp, reload, lets go to the next screen. (There are some things to find here, so search around)
Ticket booth comment- lol.
I was asked if I want to pick stuff up and I quickly got the notion I should NOT pick up many items yet bc the ammo may be scarce, the car is loaded.
My assumption is I can keep reloading at the car early on to save ammo until the car gets compromised, then Ill be wanting all the ammo around the early areas of the park.
The moving mushrooms, staff memos and fog are all appropriately creepy as are the occasional spots of blood and an empty backpack. I skip the first area I can go into because I havent finished running all the way down this alley and I- oop, there's a guy. I had a small and a large med kit, you get the small one buddeh and you be grateful for it.
Later on I find out large med kits have antidotes and this guy also complains in my car about not feeling well. Uh oh. I think I was supposed to give him a large kit to stop him from monsterizing. I try shooting him through my window multiple times...Ok I tried shooting him in the dick when he was on the ground, too. Sue me, Im a 90s kid. BTW slight error, I hadnt aactually encountered any monsters yet but she tells the reporter she ran into a monster and it hurt her. I notice blood on her back, too. Now I DID step on a bear trap earlier so maybe having any damage triggers her to say that line? Or maybe she says it no matter what bc the devs assume I'd go forward and find trouble before heading all the way back to the car to check on this dude? Or did something happen to her before the game starts? Guess Ill find out.
I make note of the MULTITUDE of key holes, potential puzzles, codes on the floor, etc and finally encounter my first enemies in the hall. I get the distinct vibe they're reluctant to hurt me. After I go down the hall, save at the fireplace and exit, I let one attack me. It's just a push and then he sounds kind of broken up about it as I lie there dead. The fact I could still spin the camera while dead had me excited there'd be something unique that'd happen but after a minute I restarted. At this point, my veteran survival horror game instincts were like "yea, just run around these dudes, dont waste ammo"
I found a few more nice areas like the excavation site and saw something about Roots being disturbed by the excavation company. Very shady. between that, gold in a trunk and a book about the gold rush, Im expecting greed gone horribly wrong, releasing something like in Ghosts of Mars. But why are there so many humans contaminated? I get the feeling the park was closed and no one was there. It doesn't sound like there was a horrible publicized accident. Maybe they're the excavators? Doubt it. And then I find a mega skeleton man. By luck I got him stuck on a metal pipe near the crow, so I could pick easy close range headshots. Stilllll took forever, tons of wasted ammo. And he was super easy to avoid AND he dropped nothing. At that point I decided to restart, avoid grabbing most items and ammo and go from there.
Throughout, there is a great atmosphere of claustrophobic tension. Nothing revolutionary, just a great, well done vibe, excatly what it needs to be. Im dying to uncover the mystery of whats going on, why fake Mara...I mean Mara is here, why she's dying to meet Mr. Crow, what this monster outbreak is, etc.
Life gets in the way so Idk if Ill continue these write ups but I figured fans of the game might enjoy reading a breakdown and recap from the perspective of fresh eyes.
Peace!

2024.05.20 04:11 A_Very_Horny_Zed Assessing PTA vs Conq for Yone

PTA's pros are that you can stack it quickly thanks to the way your Q works (first target hit in the line counts as a basic attack hit) which gives you more damage on a single target, faster than you'd get it with Conqueror. PTA also has a more lucrative poke pattern for Yone - E in, auto 3 times to get the three hit burst, and you can snap back. If you take Second Wind, Bone Plating, or Taste of Blood, and also use your W (shield) correctly, this USUALLY means you win almost every trade.
Conqueror is better in large scale teamfights because your abilities scale off of the adaptive force that Conqueror gives you. Your W for example doesn't really care if you do 8% more damage with PTA - you're still getting a weaker shield than you otherwise would be getting with Conqueror's adaptive force. But your damage won't ramp up as quickly as it will with PTA - it's only three hits for 8% bonus damage for as long as you're in combat.
At the same time, Yone is a VERY high-risk champion. The little bit of healing you get from a fully stacked Conqueror can be a godsend sometimes. It's not a lot, but it can give Yone just that little bit of sustain that he's otherwise missing as an ultra high risk all-in melee champion.
Overall, my personal opinion is that PTA and Conqueror are overalpping just a little too much. If PTA amplified true damage, then I feel like there would be meaningful differences between Conqueror and PTA. But right now, PTA just does more burst than Conqueror on top of fulfilling that role of providing you a long-term in-combat damage boost. With that said, Conqueror especially when fully stacked will be giving you more than 8% damage in comparison to PTA, in exchange for less burst.
I think the runes are similar enough that you can always just get away with taking Conqueror and ignoring PTA, but you probably want to use PTA more against squishier opponents (like mages in mid) and take Conqueror against the tanks that go top or mid. Conqueror is also more 1v9 than PTA (you'll be able to solo carry 1v9 a game more effectively with the damage and healing from Conqueror than the bit of burst and damage amp from PTA)

Put my first ever dress on again today :)
I came out about three years ago but shortly before that I comfided in a friend of mine that I was transgender they then told me that they were non binary and that I could have some of their old clothes. I picked out a yellow tartan skirt, a large brown leather jacket, a white Thrasher top and most importantly this red dress. I wore it every night and never washed it in case my mum saw lol. Well I moved on to new clothes and it got left in the back of the closet... Until today! I put it on immediately felt envious of the euphoria it gave me back then. Nowadays existing as a woman is just a part of day to day life not a relief from dysphoria after a long day hidden in my room...
Also hope you guys like my tattoo, I want to get more but I'm so poor haha.
Anyway, love all you guys, thanks for being such a supportive community

I have an in ground pool that is a pond now. The water is evaporating out and I would like to fill it up a little.
My only issue is how can I dechlorinate the water?? It’s a pool, technically so I can literally only just turn my hose on and let it run for a couple hours. How could I do it??

2024.05.20 04:11 Gloriklast Even more spoiler free reviews for NOP side stories

Round 3 baby.
You know the drill this is all my opinion.(and if you don’t know the drill see the previous lists below)
First review list: https://www.reddit.com/NatureofPredators/comments/1cuzffm/spoiler_free_reviews_of_side_stories_from_a/
Second review list: https://www.reddit.com/NatureofPredators/comments/1cuzffm/spoiler_free_reviews_of_side_stories_from_a/
Venlil foster program
-All the characters are great
-Aliens actually try to understand human habits even ones they think are dangerous
-Love to get a more ‘on the ground’ perspective on venlil prime
-Partially ruined by certain pieces of character development being undone in sequel but not as bad as HE
9/10 woulda been 10/10 were it not for its god awful sequel
Nature of omnivores
-Very fun setting
-Gives a better idea of how Cilanys broadcast impacted the entire galaxy
-Characters are generally pretty reasonable and likeable
8/10 Fun story all around and archeology is cool so bonus point for that
Arxur mini series
-Kaisals appearance in the main story was big pay off for this one in particular
-Nice to get an Arxur perspective before Chief Chad Isif came along
-Characters generally make smart decisions and the action is rock solid
10/10 Would be 8/10 but Kaisals appearance in the main story WITH HIS DEVELOPMENT LARGELY INTACT really elevates this as part of the NOP mythos
Zurulians miniseries
-All the characters are great
-Did a great job showing what happened when emergency order 56 was violated
-This is Lars first appearance shame he never got into the main story
-Romantic side plot is actually decent
-I’m pretty sure the Zurulian couple appears in the main story(I forget)
9/10 Don’t got much more to say on this one other than IT GOOD
Captain Coth chapter
-The first Arxur perspective, really gives an insight into how non-defective Arxur view humans that would be greatly expanded on Kaisals story
8/10 that’s all I can say, it’s a good one shot that gave us insight into the Arxur perspective so it could be expanded on.
Tyler chapter
-Fun wholesome moments with Tyler and Nulia
-Greatly aided in characterizing Tyler
7/10 Short but sweet
Cheln chapter
-Proves anyone who says Cheln has had largely negative interactions with humans wrong
-Does a great job of showing what happened in between first contact and the setting up of the original exchange program with the venlil
-Even compared to the one shots that would come out after it, it’s writing is very simplistic(which isn’t totally a bad thing)
8/10 This chapter didn’t need to exist but it enriches the setting just a tiny bit more by doing so and it was the first bonus chapter meaning the others wouldn’t exist without it

2024.05.20 04:10 disgruntledjobseeker The cruelty of the medical system and gaslighting- my final rant before I move on

I just want to let it out. My recent diagnoses have been so enlightening, but thanks to mainly being covered by my insurance, cost me so little. A little over $200 for out-of-pocket blood tests. A covered appointment at a private neurologist office with a small surcharge. An MRI covered by insurance. A second opinion MRI read just to be sure coming in at $250.
I picked up my 21 day course of doxycycline from the Walgreens and wanted to cry. It cost less than $4.
$454 dollars. That’s the cost to finally start healing. In the end, that’s all that it took. A cost I finally paid, deciding that maybe doctors don’t all know best.
Meanwhile, what did it cost me? Years of self-blame, self-hate. No doctor ever tried to dissuade me that my obesity was the root of my problems. In fact, most suggested it. Before I was obese, it was decidedly chronic fatigue with not a single Lyme or other parasite test run on me. Recently, it was blamed on my autism.
I have data-rooted answers now. Financially, the answers didn’t cost that much. Emotionally, I am broke inside from the years of wondering, searching, not understanding, falling, getting back up.
I put together my entire medical history into one document linking to tests, photos, conversations with my doctors through our webhealth platform over the years. It tells a story so clear, there were signs something wasn’t right. A spider bite in a bullseye pattern. Constantly triggered lymphs, random indicators of certain organs performing not right that go away, sky-high CRP, strep infections that weren’t, inflamed joints and cartilage, angry large red rashes, Raynaud’s, sciatica, numb feet and tingling. No doctor put it together or even bothered to look even though it was all there. No doctor saw beyond one specific episode for which there would occasionally be a prescription. But when you put them together, it is a story of years. And from this angle, it is a sad story.
$4 start to improved health, in an orange pill bottle makes me both so full of hope and yet so sad.

2024.05.20 04:10 Empunress Brownish-Yellow discharge?

So I (19F) have noticed changes in my discharge the past few months. It is a lot more frequent and a lot of it is yellow (which I know is normal) or tinted red. Sometimes a lot comes out of no where. Today it was yellowish-brown. As far as I know I’m healthy. I used to work out alot but I’m busy so now I stick to regular walks. I have a balanced diet and don’t restrict myself any food. I will say I lost someone in February and stoped eating and moving. As a result my period was 3 weeks late. Adding that in case it means something. I’m worried because the discharge was a lot. Usually it’s a small amount but sometimes, like today, it was a large amount. Should I be worried?

2024.05.20 04:09 wyle_killiams 2.5 Years and 2 Procedures at Natural Transplants Bethesda with Dr. Blumenthal: My long and incredibly dissatisfied journey.

Let me start by saying initially I wanted to work with this particular clinic to resolve my stated issues, and that my first impressions were very good. Now after everything is said in done, I can not recommend anyone go to this clinic. Nor will am I willing to return for a procedure "free of charge". Back in September of 2022 I met with the team at the Natural Transplants location in Bethesda, MD. The staff seemed great. Everything was explained very thoroughly. They also seemed very confident that I would likely only need a very light procedure in the future if I wanted full density at full coverage. My intended results were always density and would much rather maintain a recessed hairline. They recommended with the amount of hair they were extracting, that they go for both.
My 1st procedure was $12,000 for their HUE+ (High-Yield Unit Extraction Plus) Harvesting a length of tissue up to 50cm2 containing up to 10,000 hair follicles. They also claim a very narrow scar left behind, which was a major stretch in my case. A year after the procedure I met with Dr. Blumenthal for a check-up. They like to see if you're pleased with the results and it's an opportunity for them to take pictures to throw up on their website. We both agreed that the procedure went poorly and that I didn't nearly get the density that we were expecting. He apologized for the situation and offered a 2nd procedure for no charge to him, but with charge to pay the staff for their work. In hindsight, I should have never accepted this offer, but I just wanted my hair fixed, and I was tired of looking at the wispy rows of hair on my head.
My 2nd procedure was $4,000.00 HUE+ (High-Yield Unit Extraction Plus) Harvesting a length of tissue up to 35cm2 containing up to 6,000 hair follicles. Again, they were very polite and professional during the procedure. I left feeling happy that all this would be over. However; my 2nd procedure went much more poorly. Within the first 4-6 months I started getting large infected cysts from transplanted hair. Dr. Blumenthal was willing to prescribe me antibiotics to deal with the infection and attempted to remove whatever was causing the issue. He was unable to find hairs or masses caused by the hairs. This is where the whole 2nd procedure starts to drastically go downhill. The incisions he made, he left packed and never fully closed. I have one scar that was able to close itself but left a thick scar. Another never properly healed and I now have a divot on my scalp. After the one-year mark of the 2nd procedure, I met with Dr. Blumenthal for a checkup. At this point, I informed him I was very dissatisfied with the results of the transplant itself. Most of the hairs did not survive (from what I know now is likely a lack of depth). Of the ones that did they are very sparse and contain multiple hairs. On the other side of that, some grafts were placed much too deep and have resulted in dozens of pilar cysts on the back of my scalp, which require another doctor to remove now. When mentioning this to Dr. Blumenthal as well as pointing out the divot left behind on my head, he seemed to completely change character. He didn't even remotely seem sympathetic about the results. He said that I may not like the results, but it is much better than my hair was before. I don't know if he was insulted by my dissatisfaction, but he offered to yet again do another procedure at the cost of the 2nd procedure, and that maybe he could fill in the divot or at least increase the density around it to cover it up. He also mentioned that I would have to go to a dermatologist to get an opinion on the cysts and to remove them.
Firstly, if you live in this area, I advise you to not go to this clinic. Secondly, with all of these issues, I wonder what my next move is. Do I have any recourse? Can I even get a refund? And where do I go to fix this?
Also, the pictures are fresh out of the shower after shampooing and are much kinder than it generally appears.

2024.05.20 04:09 Superslinky1226 Just picked up a free rack, a few switches, and two old dell servers... now what?

So i think this may be a little backwards, but here goes.
Ive built PCs, I work in a networking adjacent field, and I like having stuff thats overkill in all aspects of life. So after not taking my ADD meds for a few days, I'm diving head first into something like an idiot.
Backstory: for the last 10 years or so i have been installing Physical access control, and camera systems for a national retailer (think BIG BIG. with their own data centers, and central monitoring). In that role, i was provided hardware, and had to program at the device level, but never dealt much with the server setups. I got tired of traveling nonstop, so i got a new job as an "engineer" for another company, doing design work. Since we utilize lots of systems that i am not familiar with I am working on taking some of the server setup work from the programming team to familiarize myself with the systems. In the process of doing that, i realized that having my programming lab be a folding table with a server sitting on it and cameras and access boards strewn about wasnt the best bet, so i picked up a free 48u rack off marketplace for cheap, commandeered a UPS and KVM Console, from the office, bought 2 used servers on marketplace, and a few cisco enterprise 48 port POE+ switches. All hardware was pretty cheap which im sure i will regret soon (im sitting around $400 currently). Here's what im working with:
Server 1 - Dell Poweredge r720XD - dual Xeon e5-2670's, 128gb DDR3, 1tb HDD (11 empty drive bays, that i will be filling for storage) Server 2 - Dell Poweredge R710 - Dual Xeon L5520's, 128gb ECC, 3x2TB HDD
Server 1 im planning to be a NAS for documents, photos, and CCTV storage, as well as running the CCTV VMS, plus whatever else it can handle
Server 2 was basically given to me when i bought server 1 so im not 100% sure yet. I was thinking about using it as a way to train on new software solutions when given demo licenses by our vendors, Maybe even set up in its own VLAN/standalone network to work on more secure buildouts
Some other things i would like to try but im unsure if i have the hardware capability:
Make a minecraft server for my daughter and a few friends (3-5 active players at a time) plex server (currently dont own a ton of physical media, but that may be in the future. im tired of switching streaming services month to month) Have games saved to the server so i can play them on any computer in the house without filling up the laptop (not sure how to make this happen. Basically, i like to play Flight sim 2020 every few months, its 200gb, and im tired of uninstalling a bunch of stuff and installing it just to play for 30 mins and get bored)
IDK. I guess what im really asking is what now. Where would you begin? What other things could/should i be doing. I basically needed a structured cable/rack setup but got too excited on FB marketplace, and im looking at a pile of parts wondering if i am an idiot.

Backstory

“There is no innovation and creativity without failure.” ***Brené Brown*
Taylor Bennett Armstrong was born into a creatively vibrant family. His father, Benjamin Armstrong, was a dedicated artist who often spent hours in his studio, painting and sculpting. Benjamin's work was deeply inspired by classical art, and his studio was filled with references to mythological themes and ancient techniques. This environment planted the seeds of creativity in Taylor from a very young age.
Taylor’s biological mother was Techne, the goddess of art, craft, and invention, but he had no knowledge of her divine heritage. His mother left shortly after his birth, leaving Benjamin to raise Taylor on his own. Despite the absence of his mother, Taylor's early childhood was filled with love and encouragement from his father.
When Taylor was five, Benjamin met Eliza, a talented graphic designer, at an art exhibit. They quickly bonded over their shared love for art and soon married. Eliza embraced Taylor as her own, though she struggled to understand his unique, often chaotic way of thinking and creating.
Even as a young child, Taylor showed remarkable intelligence and creativity. By the age of six, he was building simple machines and drawing intricate designs. His father was both amazed and slightly concerned when Taylor began to take apart household appliances to understand how they worked. While Benjamin encouraged his son's curiosity, Eliza worried about the constant mess and occasional accidents that resulted from Taylor's experiments.
Taylor’s half-sister, Rachel, was born when he was five. She looked up to her big brother with admiration, often following him around and watching as he created his various inventions. Despite the occasional mishap, Taylor and Rachel shared a close bond, with Taylor frequently making small toys and gadgets to entertain her.
School was both a blessing and a curse for Taylor. His intelligence allowed him to excel academically, but his unique way of thinking and his constant tinkering often got him into trouble. Teachers labeled him a "problem child" due to his inability to sit still and follow conventional methods. Taylor's inventions occasionally caused disruptions, further cementing his reputation.
Socially, Taylor found it hard to connect with his peers. His enthusiasm and intelligence often intimidated other children, and he was frequently taken advantage of by classmates who used him to boost their own grades. These experiences left Taylor feeling lonely and self-conscious about his naivety, although he never let it dampen his cheerful spirit.
Taylor's life took a dramatic turn when he was 15 years old. One day, while working on a particularly ambitious project in his makeshift workshop, he was visited by Oleander, a satyr sent by Camp Half-Blood. Oleander had been observing Taylor for some time, noting his extraordinary abilities and his connection to the divine.
Oleander revealed to Taylor the truth about his mother, Techne, and his demigod heritage. At first, Taylor was skeptical, thinking it was some sort of elaborate joke or fantasy. However, Oleander's ability to demonstrate his satyr powers and his deep knowledge of Taylor's unexplained talents eventually convinced him.
Explaining the situation to his family was a challenge. Benjamin, who had always suspected that there was something special about Taylor, took the news in stride. Eliza, though worried and confused, ultimately supported the decision, understanding that Camp Half-Blood could provide Taylor with the guidance he needed. Rachel was both excited and scared for her brother, worried about the dangers he might face and she would miss him.
Thankfully, despite the huge distance he and Oleander had to travel from Toronto to Long Island went calmly, for the most part, with not many delays or monsters attacking them.
Well, at least until they reached New York. After that, the whole “calm journey” was out the window. It almost seemed like all the monsters decided to wait until they were close to their destination to suddenly appear one after the other. First they had to somehow avoid a cyclops. Then they were attacked by dracanaea. And finally, they were chased by harpies until they crossed the border of Camp Half-Blood.
By some miracle, they were still alive.
What a way to be introduced to demigod life.

Present Day

“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun” Mary Lou Cook
Taylor's arrival at Campbell Half-Blood was… something, alright.
You know, being chased by monsters from New York to Long Island, passing out in between attacks and then waking up in the Medic Cabin feeling like you've been hit by a truck and maimed by a cat at the same time was, in short, not fun. It also didn't help the fact that he had to stay in bed to get treated for what, hours. Which, for someone like Taylor, was absolute torture. Good for him then that demigods, apparently, had magic healing and he didn't have to stay for days instead. At least Oleander was around to explain every detail about the world he's been thrust into now that he was out of danger. And as a plus, he was also claimed, so yay! He had no clue who Techne was, but he was sure he would learn soon enough.
So, what does Taylor do after getting patched up? Does he wait and rest for a bit just to make sure everything is okay with him? Does he stop for a moment to process everything that has happened to him in the last 24 hours?
No! Of course not! This is Taylor, after all. Him staying put for more than 10 minutes would be a miracle already.
Instead, he just went off on his own to see what this Camp Half-Blood was all about. He just had to get to his cabin first, which would be relatively easy with Oleander's instructions, and then he could explore this place to his heart's content!
Hopefully, Camp Half-Blood would be ready for the chaotic force Taylor would prove to be.
[OOC: Hello, everyone! Say hello to my new character, Taylor! Feel free to interact with him literally anywhere at Camp, he's probably going to be there at some point anyway lmao. Thanks for reading;)]

Fearless (Platinum Edition) possible miss print?
So I bought myself a copy of Fearless (Platinum Edition) from Taylor Swift on vinyl and as I was adding it to my Discogs I noticed that the printed signature that is supposed to be in the gatefold isn’t there and every version of the vinyl I see it has the signature. So I am highly confused. Was this a repress, a miss print, etc. I’m just wondering if anyone has any answers or has any idea of what could be going on. (Where my finger is placed is where the printed signature should be.)

If you use a large shallow tray for sprouting, do you cover it? How? What I can do is to put it in the oven, but I'm afraid I'll forget it.

Super proud of my boy! Nothing new for you experts here but a lovely successful project for me ✨
  • FormD T1 v2.1
  • 4090 FE 3 slot + custom 3d printed anti-sag bracket (https://www.printables.com/model/631715-formd-t1-v21-anti-sag-bracket-for-4090-fe)
  • 7950x3d
  • ASRock b650i Lightning
  • GSkill Trident Z5 Neo 64Gb DDR5 6000
  • Lexar NM790 4Tb
  • Corsair SF750 (normal mount, 5mm offset)
  • Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 Atmos
  • 1x SilverStone Air Slimmer 120 (SST-AS120B) + #6-32x7/8" screws
  • 1x Phanteks T30 + black grill
  • Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme
DreambigbyRayMOD custom cables for Corsair SF750, unsleeved black, absolutely perfect tight fit, even allowed for T30 grill, I'm actually pleasantly surprised how much room for air flow there is after full build: - 24p: 10pin 110mm, 18pin 130mm, no combs - CPU 8p: 280mm + 2 black combs - 12vhpwr to 3x8p: 12vhpwr right angle A, 340mm + 3 black combs This is actually my 2nd set from DreambigbyRayMOD, first one was paracord, absolutely lovely, but a bit thick and stiff for such a tight SFF. Didn't have the right angle 12vhpwr but it still fit at the bottom of the case FYI.
Settings: - RAM EXPO 6000Mhz (only one available for this mobo, happens to be the right one, easy BIOS setting) - still playing with the CPU, but after the first few rounds I don't think the PBO + UV is worth it, tbd - 4090 FE planning on gentle OC: +200 GPU clock / +1000Hz VRAM - Custom Fan Control curves (still experimenting): - SilverStone Air Slimmer: 40°/0%- 85°/50% - Phanteks T30: 40°/10%- 85°/100%
Temps are totally fine so far, set CPU to max at 85°. Still experimenting...
I don't and won't do PC gaming, this 4090 is only shredding Unreal Engine.
CineBench 2024: little over 33k, I want to push it past 35k. FurMark: 4090 FE barely pushes over 71° in 2160p.
I managed to fuck around in Ryzen Master and get it to not post. I can't stress enough the importance of having BIOS FlashBack on the mobo, saved my ass 2x already, thank you ASRock! Scary at first, easy after you do it once. Ryzen Master's been a bitch so far, I think I'm done with it, anyway...
Small annoyance with the riser cable: keeps actually popping out. Yes, I pre-bent it. I will most likely design and 3d print 2 little C-shaped clamps to keep it in place.
I'm super proud of all my research and how it turned out. Thank you all here on these subreddits and the sff discords 🙏.
Hope this helps some new SFF warriors. Peace ✌️

2024.05.20 04:07 Zhuozaier Halloween Pumpkin Mouse

Halloween Pumpkin Mouse
"This is the process of making my wool felt beret, and some of the moving and unique moments in this process. From the start to now, this has been a journey filled with passion and creativity.

In the initial step, you need to prepare some soft wool felt and specially designed felting needles, as well as the highest quality wool felt, because the quality directly affects the final product. This choice was not easy, but I was ready to put in such time and effort.

Next, I created the basic shape of the beret with the wool felt. I carefully kneaded and shaped it, securing all the wool felt with needles to make its shape stronger.

The most touching moment in the shaping process was when, with each prick, I put in my soul and emotions. Although it's physically demanding, it was my favorite part. Each prick pays respect and admiration to this art form.

Afterwards, during the detail work, I used wool of various colors to refine each part, not neglecting a single spot from the brim to the top of the hat. In this process, I was completely engrossed in my creation, oblivious to the passage of time, just watching the hat gradually come to life.

Every step, no matter how small, is my way of expressing creativity and passion for this art form. Even after experiencing hand pain and fatigue, I still felt satisfied and accomplished because I knew I had turned a pile of messy wool into a beautiful piece of art."
