Best Song Of The Month Contest

Music Or Lose It hosts a monthly Best Song Of The Month contest at this musicorloseittv subreddit community. There is no cash or monetary value prize at this time. This contest is simply just for fun. Winners earn the enjoyment of being voted the best. Winners may cite the win in their biographies and social media posts.
The moderator (mod) is available to help music creators with the entry process, eligibility requirements, and deadlines. Music creators are allowed to contact the mod to ask questions about the contest anytime and mod will reply as soon as possible.
Definitions
Music creator: refers to a solo creator, band, group, choir, orchestra, or duo.
Brand identity: refers to how a creator presents themselves as an entertainer making music for the general public. For example, Simon & Garfunkel as a duo is one brand identity. Paul Simon solo is another brand identity.

Process & Deadlines

🟡 Round 1
1) Discovery ◦ Each month, moderator keeps track of songs shared at this musicorloseittv community.
2) Notifying Music Creators ◦ When a likely eligible song is seen, the u/musicorloseittv profile or u/themusicfanman profile will notify the music creator of likely eligibility within the qualifying song’s post. The reply will indicate, “⏳ This song appears eligible for the Best Song Of The Month contest. Please provide the following information…” If the song is confirmed to be eligible by a mod, the mod will make a reply “🟨 This is confirmation notifying you that this song is eligible and in consideration for the Best Song Of The Month contest…” within the qualifying song’s post.
3) Determining Contestants ◦ The Music Fan man will evaluate all eligible songs by the month’s eligibility deadline. He will then at his discretion choose up to 5 songs to compete.
3) Finalists Post ◦ At this musicorloseittv community, the musicorloseittv profile will announce the top finalists (up to 5) in a post tiled “Contest: Best Song Of The Month Finalists (Insert Month & Year).” This announcement will be done in a post made 4 days before the final day of the month. The post will be made sometime in the morning. The songs will be listed within the post in a manner most representative of music diversity as determined by the musicorloseittv profile mod. All songs available on YouTube will be included in a playlist titled “Best Song Of The Month Contestants • (Insert Month & Year)” hosted by the musicorloseittv channel on YouTube. Songs not available on YouTube will be excluded from the playlist. The playlist will be mentioned in this post. The available playlist will help voters get familiar with the songs.
The u/musicorloseittv profile or u/themusicfanman profile will notify the music creators of qualifying for the contest in their post of the song. The reply will indicate, “✅ Congratulations. Your song qualifies for the Best Song Of The Month contest…”
4) Voting ◦ The “Contest: Best Song Of The Month Finalists (Insert Month & Year)” post will specify a duration of 3 consecutive dates during which music fans can vote for only 1 of the top finalists. Voting occurs by the voters making a reply to the post in the following manner: “🗳️ I vote for….” Failing to vote in this manner will result in vote not being counted. To best ensure vote accuracy, voters must not use the “🗳️” emoji anywhere else in the post’s comments section. Music creators may vote for another music creator yet may not vote for themselves. For music creators, it’s “word of honor” voting. The top vote earning song within these three days will become the winner.
‣ Community moderator profiles musicorloseittv and onesongoftheday will abstain from voting. Also, themusicfanman and any special judge involved will also abstain from voting - unless they’re needed to serve as a tie breaker, in the event of a tie preventing a clear winner. If themusicfanman and any special judge involved are needed as a tie breaker, they must come to a consensus to achieve tie breaking. If no special judge is involved, then themusicfanman alone will serve as the tie breaker.

Declaration Post ◦ At this musicorloseittv community, on the final day of the month, the musicorloseittv profile will announce the winner in a post tiled “Congratulations! 🎉 Best Song Of The Month Winner (Insert Month & Year)” in a post dedicated to celebrating the song. Using the sticky-post feature, the post will be prominently displayed the home page of the musicorloseittv subreddit community for ≈ 24 hours.

A similar Song Of The Year vote will occur in December. It will be similarly organized and scheduled to conclude on the final day of the year. To determine a Song Of The Year by the end of the year, December’s monthly contest will only be ≈ 2 weeks. Why? Because we need time to conclude The Song Of The Year vote by the end of the year. Additionally, this is a busy time of year for many people. What’s more, non-Christmas music released in December is typically overshadowed by Christmas music. Eligibility

Here are the rules for the Best Song Of The Month contest organized by Music Or Lose It just for fun. The eligibility rules are intended to make this contest as fair as possible to the music creator participants.
**👤 Personal: **
Requirements:
✔️ Must be an actual human.
✔️ Must be 17 years of age or older.
✔️ Must be a music creator abiding by the rules of this musicorloseittv subreddit community.
✔️ Must be a music creator posting using either your personal profile or your brand profile as a music entertainer.

🚫 Profiles run by publicists, music labels, or channels hosting performers.
🚫 People posing as other humans using imitation avatar type creations by artificial intelligence (AI).

Requirements:
✔️ You must be the copyright owner of the song (lyrics and sound recording) or authorized/licensed to perform the song by the copyright owner as the first original performer.
✔️ An exception is made if your song is an authorized/licensed remix or includes authorized/licensed interpolation or sampling content by the copyright owner in collaboration with any other amateur music creator(s) or unsigned professional yet lesser known music creator(s). The aforementioned release date also applies to any remix, interpolation, or sampling content.
✔️ Collaborations within the aforementioned rules are allowed so long as the song is entered into the contest by the lead. Lead refers to the first person named in the collaboration.

🚫 Interpolations, remixes, or samplings of a song by a creator signed to a record company of any size or signed to a one-song-per-time type distributor.
🚫 Song with hard cussing. No variations of F word, S word, C word, D word, N word (er or a), ahole word(s), or sexually vulgar words.
🚫 Extremely sexual, gang promoting, violent, or especially scary/gory/maleficent/evil aesthetic content.
🚫 Songs primarily about brands. For example: “I Love Driving Such-And-Such Brand Name Trucks.”
**👂 Recording quality: **
Allowed:
✔️ Professional quality recordings (live or studio).
✔️ Amateur quality (including songs record in a bedroom, car, outdoors, etc…) yet reasonably pleasant sounding.
✔️ Demos are welcome.
Ineligible:
🚫 Live records with too much interfering audience noise.
🚫 Recordings with excessively poor sound quality (abrasive on the ears, difficult to hear).

✔️ Minimum of 01:15 minutes up to 10:00 minutes.
**💻 Distribution venues: **
Requirements:
✔️ A song published and accessible to the general public masses at a well-known music website such as YouTube, SoundCloud, or Bandcamp.
✔️ A song uploaded to a channel hosting live performances is allowed so long as the song is entered into the contest directly by the creator and so long as the creator confirms permission by the channel. Confirmation can be done in either your original upload URL link source or at this community within your posts’ body-text section or a reply to the post.
✔️ The song’s upload date must be visible at the distribution venue website.
⚠️ If you enter this contest with a Spotify or TikTok URL link, ensure you’ve provided a link for the entire song (not a teasesampler) in a manner that does not require login; ensure the publish date is visible; and be weary of looping flashing visuals necessitating a “⚠️Possible Seizure Trigger Risk Warning.” Failing to do this will result in ineligibility.

✔️ You must be the original creator of the song’s accompanying artwork.
✔️ Alternatively, you must be the copyright owner of the artwork if you paid to have it made. Otherwise you must be authorized/licensed to publish the artwork as part of the presentation of your song.
✔️ Artwork primarily generated by artificial intelligence (AI) is allowed so long as you are authorized/licensed by the AI source to publish the artwork as part of your song’s public presentation. However this is advised against because public sentiment may be hostile towards AI generated content.
✔️ If your song’s artwork uses aspects of copyrighted, creative commons, or “free” material content, you must confirm you’ve got authorization/licensing to use the content as part of your song’s public presentation. Ineligible:
🚫 Every collaboration will not automatically be considered a new brand. For example, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss collaborating one time should not be considered a brand. Robert Plant & Alison Krauss making an entire album together should be considered a brand. Music creators attempting to enter multiple songs under multiple brand names will be scrutinized. If there is no social media presence for any additional brands, their songs will likely be rejected as “also eligible” by mods. If this happens, the music creator will have to enter only 1 song.

I’d like to start off saying that I’m not looking for critique on what I should do going further unless you’ve read the full story, not just the TLDR. This situation is far more complicated and has been years in the making. If you want a rundown, I’ve put a TLDR at the bottom. I truly just need a space for me to type out my story and possibly maybe hear similar stories if anyone can relate. This is an extremely long post, and there’s a chance I ramble, so just as a warning
I’ll give some background before I say my case: I (22F) have been suspicious of my dad (50M) for the better part of my life. I have diagnosed anxiety and for the most part, I’ve thought my ideas and skepticisms on the matter as just intrusive thoughts. My dad and I have l always had a weird relationship. It doesn’t change how much I love him though. Even as I sit here today, I can’t in good conscience say I hate my dad. I love my dad. Even in his bad moments and questionable behaviors, hes my dad and usually my biggest of supporters. I think because of his bipolar nature it makes this situation so hard.
My mom and dad have been married for 25 years. Like I said before, they have four kids, both come from strict Catholic families, and share the same group of friends. On the outside, everyone can tell my dad loves my mom. He worships the ground she walks on, splurges on expensive gifts for her and is pretty openly affectionate. My mom, however, has never been vocal on her affections, inside and out of the house. Honestly, I can see how this affects my dad. Over the years, they’ve gotten shorter with each other, dad lashes out a bit more (something I’d say to remember as you keep reading), and will disappear into the night after a harsh argument.
I’d say this is where I start to get weird feelings on him. We all have a joint Life360. All of us, including our parents, can see where we are at all times. I’m fine with this, given at the time of this starting I was 20 and in college and I understand why a parent would want their kids locations. When checking the app, I started to notice my dad’s location being off at weird intervals of the night. If you have Life360, you’d know that it will tell you someone’s location has been turned off. Naturally, I’d ask my dad and he’d laugh it off saying his app was screwed up and he wasn’t sure why it was doing that and then 20 minutes later his location would be back on. Whatever, fine. The locations would only turn off around 11 P.M. on random evenings, usually when he was in town. He’d still throw the excuse that it was because he was just flying and airplane mode screws up Life360 (which isn’t true btw).
Anyways, I guess the meat of this story starts December of 2022. Dad’s anger is at weird levels. He’s arguing with my mom more and turning off his location. Me, being stupid, accused him of acting weird a few days before Christmas. Naturally he gets defensive and starts to say things like I’d never cheat on your mom, how could you accuse me of things like that, my phone is just wired. I’d argue back that I never accused him of cheating, just that he’s weird. That didn’t help my case. This is where his true character started to show. Threats of I’d cut you off from college (they pay for my schooling, car and phone), yelling at me for not showing respect for him, how he’s done so much for the family. After this argument I’d see him deleting no name contacts off of his phone after a conversation. I brought this up to my mom, and she tells me it’s probably work so I drop it. If my mom’s not worried why should I be.
After Christmas, we fly north to visit family since we’re the only ones down south. During our trip, he’d take my grandparents car (with their permission, these are my moms parents) to run errands for the Christmas parties that will be happening over the next couple of days. Once again, every time he’d go out his location would turn off. The tipping point for me was when he said he was going to fill up my grandparents car with gas. They live 5 minutes from a gas station. We had a reservation in an hour with his dad that we cannot be late to. My dad knew this. He was gone for an hour. Location off. He’s not contacting anyone, including my mom, on where he is. When he gets back, 5 minutes after when we were supposed to leave, he tells us all that there was an accident at the gas station and they needed him for a witness support. I shoot him down asking why his location was off and why he didn’t tell anyone this in front of my siblings, mom, and grandparents. They all laugh like it’s a joke but once I look at him he’s fuming. He tells me to get in the car so we can get to dinner.
Once we all pile in for dinner he screams at me, once again repeating the things he said before Christmas and how dare I accuse him of anything in front of his in-laws. When we finally parked the car and started to walk into the restaurant, he screams at me in the parking lot. My cousins and grandfather are standing outside watching him berate me in public. I’m 20 years old and he’s treating me like I’m 5. He told me he was going to stop paying for school and my rent this upcoming school year to teach me a lesson. I have never seen my father like this before, and true to his word, I paid for the first two months of my Spring 2023 school year. After some convincing from my mom, my dad texts me in March to not worry about the rent. I think after this is where I truly realize what’s at stake and what more I could lose if I try something like this again, and I never once verbally said he was cheating to anyone. Besides I had no proof.
In between this period, my mom and I have a huge heart to heart. I confess to her that her relationship with my dad is not something I view healthy, and I’m fearful that my marriage one day will look like theirs. I tell her I think she’s treated unfairly behind closed doors and she needs to step up for herself. She agrees but once I bring up divorce, she laughs and says she’d never in a million years consider that. She’d never get a divorce, and she kept reinforcing that. My parents are super Catholic, so I’m not surprised by this statement, but I feel like this paragraph is important to note.
Jump forward it May 2023. I’m off for the summer, in a limbo between end of the school year and starting my internship, so I’m back home. One evening my parents and I are watching a show in the living room. How we are all positioned makes it that my dad is in front of us. During a commercial break while my mom is getting water, my dad takes out his phone and starts texting, however it’s not on iMessage. It’s on Grindr. The only reason I know it was Grindr is because I have a few gay friends at school and I’ve seen some of their messages before. Honest to god, I’m shocked and paralyzed in my seat. What I’ve been suspicious about for the past half of the year is true. Just not in the sense I thought he was. Excusing myself to my room I go to recollect myself and reach out to two of my closer friends about the situation.
Over the next few months when I visit home, I start to document any instance I see him on the app or turning off his location. I have multiple videos of him texting people on Grindr. I’ve started to hint to my mom that something isn’t right and made out loud comments how weird dads been. Since last May, I’ve told my younger sister (F19) about my dad and showed her some evidence. She refuses to acknowledge the behavior and does not want to do anything about it. We’ll joke about it sometimes behind closed doors but when I bring it up to her today about telling my mom or talking to my dad, she gets fearful and thinks it’s stupid to do.
Which leads us to today. I am a fresh graduate from college. I’ve moved back home and am looking for work. And I know I’m being extremely selfish to everyone in my family for withholding this information. After countless talks with my therapist, she thinks it’s wise to not tell my dad or mom what’s happening, at least currently. Since I have been actually cut off from my dad and my mom has expressed that she doesn’t want a divorce and can’t really be bothered to look into the situation more, my therapist and a few of my friends agree to wait until I’m financially independent and moved out of the house. I think about telling my parents everyday what I know. But then I think of me, and my three younger siblings (the youngest is 13) who are still living at home, and the fact my mom is financially dependent on my dad. And I think the worst part and it makes me feel awful for even typing this, but it feels a bit easier to cope with this because my dad is exclusively talking to men. He’s not cheating on my mom with other women. My sister and I over the holidays looked to see if he had any of the other dating apps and we found nothing.
Honestly, a lot of you all might have read all of this and may still think I should tell my parents asap. Or question why I’m still waiting. I think I’m scared. I think I don’t want things to change. I don’t want to be blamed at or remembered as the daughter who ruined the **** family. I know it’s my dads fault and it’s not on me, but I’m scared I’ll truly lose my dad if I bring this to light. I’m scared my moms life will be flipped upside down forever. I’m scared my younger siblings will resent me for ruining our family and their cushy life will be lost.
I just needed somewhere to write this all down. I needed to get this off of my chest while I sit in my childhood bedroom. I’ve never felt more trapped and guilty in my life. It’s easier to forget that this is happening while I was at school, but now that I’m home, it’s harder to ignore. If anyone has any similar stories I’d love to hear them. There’s a lot more I’m leaving out so if there are questions I’ll try and answer them.
TLDR: was suspicious of my dad for cheating back in 2022 based on some behaviors and was cut off for two months when I asked what was up. Now I know he’s gay and is cheating on my mom and has been for maybe years. Mom doesn’t seem to worry/care about his behavior and Dad is still creeping around. Now that I’m back home the guilt of not saying a word to either of them is building up but I’m scared I’ll lose my family.

My husband and I have been together for almost 8 years. We got married in Nov of 2022. Before we got married we consulted a lawyer about what choices we had. We opted to do the route for a green card because he needs to be able to legally work because I will eventually be going back to school. We have been together for over 5 years when we got married. We were ready! My relationship was kept secret for very long besides from my mother because of the fear of what my father would do if he found out. He is abusive. He found out in 2021. He rejected everything because my husband is not from the USA and because my husband is darker and his first language is Spanish. Being that I was keeping my relationship a secret from my father I was also keeping it hidden from my family up until my dad found out. I did not need people in my family telling my dad and making my life at home worse than it already was. People often have this misconception that my dad will just have to accept it but don’t understand the misery I would have to endure at home with the fighting, the name calling, the control, and etc. I was still very guarded about our relationship after it had come out that we were dating. We got married in his country and started the journey of getting his green card. The wedding was for my husband’s family (most will never be able to travel out of their home country) and also to start the process. Here is why I am asking if AITA because it came out this Christmas that we got married because I put my married name on something public (I know I should not have but I am/was excited) My g-parents (my mom’s) were furious they were not notified of my wedding. I explained that this wedding was for my husband’s family and not mine and that my own mother was not at the wedding and the wedding was not even planned me it was planned by my husband’s fam because I was in a whole different country and finishing up my bachelors degrees. I thought that this was the end of them being mad because I had explained that we wanted to have our big wedding in the states, but today I went over to my g-parents house 4 months later and my g-pa found a photo of my wedding posted on my MIL facebook or something My g-parents exploded and stated that they did not understand why they did not get at least notified of my wedding. I explained it again, but then because my mom had wanted to invite my g-ma to venue shop with us for our wedding in the US earlier this year my g-ma screamed at me that I had made her look stupid to the venue people and my husband’s family must think they are dog shit because they did not go to the wedding. I got up and walked out and told them I was leaving my g-ma said “good”. I yelled out that they play favorites and my uncle’s kids are always valued more. My g-parents yelled at me to “suck it up”. I left. I understand that I did not invite them but the wedding was not for them. It was for my husband’s family.

Hey guys - we’re looking for a fun evening activity for 40 or so men for a bucks party, does anybody know a venue that could accommodate?

AITA for wanting to bow out of our nephew’s kids birthday parties? He has 3 children under the age of 5. We gave each of the kids a baby shower gift and a “First Birthday/Christmas” present. Didn’t see this coming but he is inviting us to each kids birthday party now, along with 50/60 other people! He and his GF provide everyone with gift registry links (such as Amazon) full of clothing and toys. The backyard parties consist of a birthday cake and sugary pickies/pizza. Everyone sits in their small groups of family, their friends (& their kids) and some coworker friends, which my nephew and his GF sit with the latters. The presents are opened later on @ their home, and not in front of the guests, although sitting through a toddler opening 30-40 presents would probably be ridiculous too. I just feel it’s over the top…and a “money grab”. We’re not THAT old and our kids are still in college but I’m going to say it; in our day, just a handful of years ago, our kids would have an immediate family party including these nieces and nephews with 4-5 presents TOTAL then a small friend party when they started school with classmates. Those parties always consisted of a big food spread and activities/games for the kids. Quite often, the adults in the family would leave with some leftovers for their work lunches. The kids would always go home with a little goodie bag and balloon. Definitely no gift registration…and as they got older, we asked everyone to not give gifts but still get together for food and birthday cake. My nephew is one of 13 nieces/nephews on both sides of our family and first to start a family of his own. Not sure how the rest of them would handle things and don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings but can’t help but feel it’s a money grab..not even sure the kids know who we are! We see them for these parties and some holidays but not all of them. We appreciate the invite to be with family, but the whole gift registry and 60+ guest list is leaving a bad taste in our mouths. AITA for trying to curb this now and say “we’re busy”?

Hi, I’m a 15F, and I’m turning 16 during the summer. My dad is part of a “religious practice" in which we do not celebrate pagan holidays like Christmas,Halloween,Easter,New Years, birthdays, and more. When I was younger, we used to celebrate, but we stopped when i was around the age of 9–11. I never had a big problem with it until, like, a year ago. When I was 13, I was jealous of my long distance family members and friends for celebrating fun holidays while i did nothing. Recently, most of my friends turned 16 and had parties. The best sweet 16 I’ve seen was an ex-friend of mine had. She had a massive venue with a beautiful pink dress and crown. Her family and friends were there to support her. She was gifted a car and received so much money. I was extremely proud of her, but I couldn’t help but feel abiT of resentment. I only had the chance to experience the moment on camera because I’m not allowed to go to birthday parties. My second friend had a dinner party with friends and received expensive and thoughtful gifts, but I wasn’t able to go. Now a third friend had a sweet 16, but I wasn’t invited because I’m not close to her, which is understandable. Everyone had pictures and videos of her walking down the venue in a long gown. She looked like Disney Princess Tiana; she was so pretty, and her girlfriend was slow dancing with her. It was so cute, but once again, I couldn’t help but feel jealous. I asked my dad if I could do one, because I remember him saying a long time ago that I would be able to celebrate my 16th birthday. He obviously didn’t remember and said there was no point in throwing a birthday party because in his own words “what’s so important about turning 16 and not 17, 18, 19, and 20?”. He also said it’s disrespectful to God because I’m supposed to celebrate God alone. I don’t believe in God, but he doesn’t know that. I asked instead of throwing a big party if I could just have a birthday dinner with family and look pretty. He didn’t answer my question, but I could sense he’s not so on with it. I don’t believe I’m being unreasonable with my wishes; I’m aware we don’t have much money and a birthday dinner will work fine. My father isn’t a bad person; he’s just gotten really religious over the years. He's gotten less strict recently, but I still don’t want to miss out on my teen years. My birthday is coming up in a month, and I just want a day to celebrate me and my accomplishments in life.

I want to go to the BM After the After Party show & after party in my city, but none of my friends are able to go. I’m anxious and not a fan of going places like this alone, but I REALLY wanna see BM live. And it seems like a smaller venue too, so it’s not like a stadium concert (and I have gone to one of those before), so the intimacy of it fees like I’ll be so awkward all by myself.
Any tips on how to get past the anxiety, or has anyone here gone to a smaller venue show alone & could give me a pep talk?😬

I(17, european) recently met my online best friend (also 17 from the same country) at his birthday party. I had taken a long bus ride so I didn't bring a lot of stuff but I took a bottle of liquor (limoncello) I was gifted for Christmas with me so I wouldn't arrive empty-handed.
As I left in a bit of a rush, I proceeded to forget my bottle. Since I was unaware of any problems regarding alcohol, I wasn't too stressed about it, so I just told him he'd give it back to me next time we saw one another since we'd planned to hang out after our respective exams.
A few days later he burst out apologizing for drinking from it a lot and we proceeded to talk about it more in depth, he described that he couldn't stop thinking about drinking more and that he constantly craved it's warmth. Since he's a minor he's obviously doing it alone and when his parents aren't looking. He also asked a handful of his friends who are legal adults (in my country you're supposed to be 18 to buy booze but it's not that tightly controlled) to buy him beer and other alcoholic beverages, because the bottle I was gifted was dear to me and he didn't want to finish it.
I'm generally pretty worried about him since his mental health is generally shitty, he also has an ED and he smokes (for which I can't judge him really, I have the same " bad habits" )
He seems to be aware and worried that there might be a problem, but neither me nor him are sure of how bad this actually is since I tend to downplay most problems and he's also a little bit in denial.
If it's as bad as I feel he might be however, he would be the first person I'd be trying to support with alcoholism and I have absolutely no idea how to do that and what to tell him. I'm usually pretty good at supporting others and very close to him, and I don't want him to feel like it causes a rift between us because even I can tell that it will only make it worse. Does anyone have any advice on how to help him, maybe tips on what not to say to him and things or check up on with?

All my life my mother has plagued me with her anxieties and worries. I know she only worries because she wants what’s best for me but instead of helping me all it’s done is create so much anxiety around every aspect of my life.
She started calling me a spinster at 24 and I started dating a guy she liked. Don’t get me wrong I adore him and want to marry him but ever since marriage became a discussion she’s just added more stress to my life. I just wanted a simple, classy wedding at a nice venue. No other parties leading up to it (engagement party, bachelorette party etc). But she finds issues with everything I suggest.
At this point I’m so over it I wish we could elope instead, but since that’s not an option I’m starting to feel like my entire wedding will have to be planned by my mother in order for her to feel happy. I’m so tired of feeling anxious and worried about everything.

I’m (20f) currently 36+4 and excited, but exhausted, so I wanted to share what my experience has been like since learning- the good and the bad
I learned at about 6 weeks, on a hunch I decided to take a test and it came back positive. I had only been with my boyfriend for about 2 months, so I was scared to tell him, and I had never even given a thought to having children. But, luck would have it he was supportive. Then came the morning sickness. Before getting anti nausea meds from my ob, smoking weed seemed to be the only way to eat anything, and my favorite thing to eat was tomatoes. Made me real sad that the smell of sweets made me nauseous :( After the first ob appointment- I have an amazing one, not invasive and there’s ultrasounds at every appointment so I’ve been able to watch baby girl grow- I moved back in with my momma because I was losing too much weight too fast while living with my boyfriend. She immediately started spoiling both me and my baby, especially on Christmas. Baby girl got a bassinet, swing, playpen and TONS of clothes. Me and my boyfriend decided on a name, after my dad and his grandmother, and her middle name is his great grandmothers name. Even though we no longer live together, him and his family are still extremely supportive and excited. The distance has definitely put stress on our relationship, but we’re learning together how to have discussions instead of arguments and navigate this part. Around 13 weeks, the nausea subsided and I started feeling like myself again, less tired too. At 16 weeks I SWORE I felt baby move, but thought it was too soon (I did, in fact feel little squirms). By 24, I could SEE her move, but every time I tried to take a video to send to her dad she would stop, camera shy like both of us XD At about 26 weeks, my little sister had strep, and I caught a cold and was out of commission for about 3 days, and took some cold medicine after HEAVILY researching which ones would be safe, but on the second day I noticed she was barely moving, so I made my mom drive me to the hospital to see if everything was okay. At first they couldn’t find the heartbeat, which added to my panic, but when they found it I started to cry because I was relieved and everything became so real. After that, I was definitely more careful. Things started suckinggggg physically at 32 weeks (literally). I was exhausted, achy, couldn’t sleep till about 1-2 am most nights and I was definitely nesting like crazy. And I started leaking colostrum. I told my mom the next day, and she told me to start pumping, so I have been and currently have over 150 ml saved in the freezer. For the past two weeks, my sleep has been terrible- waking up to roll over and pain every time I do as well as being extremely dehydrated despite drinking water every time I wake up. A good part is seeing and feeling the little dance parties baby girl decides to throw all day. Last week my feet and legs started swelling like crazy- one day I had ankles, the next they disappeared and I haven’t found them since. I also learned that baby girl is currently 7lbs 2oz and gaining about a pound a week, which is honestly terrifying because that’s gonna hurttttttt when I give birth T-T

Nene has ran her mouth and was vile, Kenya has ran her mouth and was vile, Kim Z, Sheree.. but Porsha took it another level… not once, not twice but three times.. ? The third time we found out on the S8 reunion at Phaedras Christmas party..
Like seriously?. I don’t care how “good it makes for tv”. How about having that mess on tv for impressionable young women? The thing that kills me the most is the “Christian” doesn’t say shit but dismisses it.. it takes NeNe Leakes to put Porsha in her place! And I’m here for it! Which gained my respect back for nene.
Shame on Bravo. I hope her ass is off soon cause I swear I don’t know how much more of her or fakedra I can take. 🙄

Wife gets invites from her family for parties, Christmas, etc from her family.
She never forwards them to me and will vaguely tell me about them. I always ask for her to forward them but she never does.
Her cousins daughter was having a college graduation today but like always I was in the dark. My wife casually said since her foot was hurting she told them that we weren’t going.
I asked her why she didn’t allow me to decide if I wanted to go or not.
Now I am pissed and have decided that if she cannot forward the invite to me to decide, then I’m not going.

I ‘27M’ and my ex ‘24F’ had been dating for a little over a year when she broke up with me 3 ½ months ago. This was the result of a gradual deterioration of our relationship which culminated in a complete breakdown of physical and emotional intimacy.
For context: this was my first serious relationship, and my ex was the first person that I introduced to my immediate and extended family.
Although there’d been issues throughout our relationship, which I would describe as being due to my poor communication and time management, coupled with my ex’s expectations and unwillingness to compromise – or as my friends/family said: my ex’s controlling nature and immaturity – (she also comes from wealth and is incredibly spoiled) the deterioration really began following an incident at a Thanksgiving in October (Canadian).
During a game of cards, my ex got excited and made a mistake with the rules, my brother ‘25M’ quipped that ‘it was a good thing that she was pretty” which made her angry. She threw the cards at him, stormed off, and slammed the door. This whole thing went down in front of my extended family. While I understand why my ex got upset, her reaction upset and embarrassed me.
This and other behaviour throughout the weekend caused her relationship with my family (particularly my parents) to cool and all communication between my ex and them ceased. It’s worth noting that while my parents understood why she was upset they were offended by her actions.
Later when I tried to talk to her about it, she got defensive and couldn’t understand why I was upset. She expected an apology not only from my brother (which I think she was owed), but also from my parents because she felt iced out.
At this point it’s important to mention that my mum has stage 4 lung cancer (which my ex was aware of) and at the time was having a tough time with her illness and didn’t have the capacity to respond to the situation. I know this doesn’t excuse my parents’ role in the situation, it’s important context as there were other limiting factors at play.
Fast forward a couple of months: Christmas is coming up and nobody is willing to come to the table and all parties dig in their heels… my ex doesn’t want to apologize for her actions, my brother doesn’t want to apologize for his comments, and my parents don’t think they owe her an apology for icing her out at all… This whole time I’m trying to resolve this (although my communication wasn’t great) and I watch this situation take on a life of its own… as a result, my ex doesn’t get invited to Christmas which upsets her even more…
Honestly, whose right or wrong is irrelevant at this point, suffice to say that I was in the middle, which caused me a great deal of stress. I tried to speak to my ex about how I was feeling but my ex wouldn’t acknowledge how the stress was impacting me… I gained a ton of weight, I had heart palpitations, and I stopped sleeping. I just needed someone to acknowledge my feelings, but she wouldn’t/couldn’t, and I felt completely alone and helpless.
This whole time my ex got more and more upset about the lack of progress and kept pressuring me to fix the relationship between her and my family… I get that it’s my family, but she took no imitative to try and resolve it, either on her own or with me (which I think would’ve been the best way to proceed), she just expected me to handle it on my own.
I tried to reiterate that my mum wasn’t doing well with her illness and was doing more tests, and I needed more time. She didn’t care. She was upset at how long it was taking, I get that, but I can’t control the other parties… I finally get my parents to agree to a sit-down meeting, and I spent days prepping for it, however, a day beforehand my ex bailed, and I went into the meeting alone. Afterwards, she wanted to know what we talked about, to make sure I had stood up for her…
Yet two days later she told me that she wanted to go no contact for a week, that this relationship was too difficult… a week later she called me and told me she loved me, missed me, and wanted to talk. The next day when I went to meet her at her place, she had all my stuff in bags at the door. She kicked me our of her apartment, and I sat in the hall and cried while I waited for my ride. While I sat there someone, probably her, called security on me and I was escorted out of the building, and I was left on the curb with all my belongings… This was the last time we spoke.
There were other factors at play, like how my ex’s roommate ‘25F’ kept getting involved in our relationship and making comments (following her own breakup). Or that it’s highly likely that my ex has BPD. Or how my ex got upset that I rejected her approaches for sex three times right before we went no contact (as she has violated my boundaries and wouldn’t acknowledge that she had or how uncomfortable she had made me). But the story I shared really captures the heart of it: a lack acknowledgement of my emotions, and my boundaries.
I just feel so stupid. There were so many red flags going into it, and so many things that I didn’t like… but I tried so hard and doubled down. Convinced that if I just cared a little bit more, that somehow it would work out. In hindsight, I know I got taken advantage of, I spoiled her, I paid for everything, I did whatever she wanted, I dropped everything I was doing when she called… I gave up some much to be with her… I sacrificed my school, my work, my time, my goals… and then she just kicked me to the curb. Her feelings always seemed to supersede my own, and I took a back seat. Not to mention that she threw out the remainder of my belongings when I asked for them back.
So, it leads me to this: why does this still hurst so badly? She didn’t treat me well, and I was so unhappy for so long. Why am I so stuck? I can’t get her out of my mind. Is this trauma bonding? If it is, what can I do? I feel like I completely lost myself over the past year. Part of me just wants to talk to her, but I know she wants nothing to do with me… and part of me knows it won’t do any good…

TLDR boyfriend’s girl friend gifted him a perfume soaked Cat plush that I think is supposed to represent her. She’s also gifted him what seems to be kinda personalised things to their relationship. Am I looking too much into it or was that her way of flirting with my boyfriend.
I 26f, boyfriend 29m have been together for 2 and a half years. His friend who is a girl (they have known each other for 1 and a half years) just randomly gave him a perfume soaked Cat plush when she came over for our last dnd session.
I asked him about it and if the cat meant anything to him and he said it was from a anime movie they had went to see with a group of people last last year. It was a black cat with green eyes. He said that she often refers to herself as his black cat and he is a fox. So the gift must have also been a reference to her aswell. She also gifted him a fox dice holder for christmas and has also drew him two portraits for the two birthdays she’s known him for. One of him with foxes and another of him being a barman in a tavern with a black cat sitting at the bar.
She also confessed to him before Christmas that there might be some feelings from her end even tho she has said she is a lesbian. Since then she has backed off and was ignoring him more and others in the dnd group. Just the past few weeks she has started talking more again and I thought it was past us and all was good and she was worried I hated her.
Now she has given him that gift and I just wanted to know if I am overthinking it or if she was trying to say something by that. I’ve not said anything to her and don’t talk much to after she told him she liked him. My boyfriend accepted the gift and was laughing and didn’t really say anything much about it. He says he feels awkward and doesn’t want to break up the dnd party by saying anything and is being quite passive and saying she didn’t meant anything by the gift. I just wanted to know what others thought because I thought it was quite disrespectful to gift something like that and also have it soaked in her perfume! Do you think I’m looking too much into it?

I (19m) am the youngest of four siblings (27F, 22F, 20F), the two older having a different mother, from one of my dad's past marriages. Me and my youmgest sister were born to the same mother, but my parents have been divorced since 2019. My parent's divorce was a result of my dad cheating on my mom.
He ended up dating the woman for 8 years total (the relationship began years before anyone knew about it, so around 2015, and this relationship ended mid 2023). Following this relationship he then dated a woman 1 year older than my oldest sister, to which he then cheated on with his current woman, E (short for entitled).
Regarding my dad's current woman, she has been constantly trying to get involved in all of mine and my sister's lives, one way or another, such as showing uo to our birthday and christmas parties, but the issues being that she was either uninvited, would twist every conversation onto herself or her children, or make a big deal about how she would get really bad headaches and have to be carried to my dad's car to lay down. E constantly tells my dad about how his kids haven't done anything with their lives (I'm the only one not in college/graduated atm, and I'm working a full time job so I can afford to go), meanwhile she has children who dropped out of highschool and have been expelled, multiple times.
Today we had a party celebrating my older two sister's birthday and college graduation respectively. It was us four siblings, 22F's fiancé and 20F's boyfriend, and what we thought would by my dad and E (we don't really invite her, but if my dad is invited she has to go). When those two finally arrived (about 30 minutes late), we were surpised to find out that there was "a few" other people coming. We thought it would be her children, who have shown up for past events such as my birthday, but to our surprise E thought it was a great idea to bring her youngest son, and two people none of my sisters have ever met. One of the two I did recognize as one of my dad's employees at a bar, but the other was also a new face to me. As for the guy, he was just very downright racist and made us all uncomfortable with sexual remarks, and when we asked my dad about it E chimed in and said to 'not take him seriously'.
After we ate our food and played a bit of bags (cornhole), we tried to play a trivia game like we usually do, where we take turns and answer questions on a card, we have a turn system for this game, but none of the random invites nor my dad and E were following it. This combined with the group collectively trying to cause havoc throughout the entire party by looking at the trivia cards and guessing out if turn, and my sisters had enough and wanted to just leave. A couple comments were said by the 'guests', which caused an all out screaming war between my sisters, my dad, and E, where my dad and E were arguing that we had to get used to these people as they were family. I said that they weren't our family so they can leave. (They did end up keaving for a short period) This is where we found out my dad and E had gotten secretly married in March, and they would've announced it sooner (at my birthday party), and had I not been 'selfish' during my party, they would've announced it at the restaurant I chose to eat at (E said it was selfish because she was allergic to cinnamon and I got a cheesecake for dessert that had cinnamon in it so she had to leave). E said that since she was our stepmom now we had to listen and respect her, which is not how that works. She told us we were the ones that were not a part of my dad's family, and we should leave. This is around where I was tokd to leave so I sat in my sister's fiancé's car until my mom came and got me, (my youngest sister and her boyfriend had to leave early so they didn't know about this until I told them).
I don't know much of what was said after I left, but I did see the guests return for a minute, followed by my older sister shoving them right back out the door, to which they did not return.
I feel bad for my sisters. This was their day to celebrate, and not only did it end this badly, but my dad is threatening to cut off all communications with them because of this incident. He said if we return to the building we were celebrating at (which he owns), he will call the cops on us for trespassing. E is threatening to take my oldest sister's dogs because she 'doesn't deserve them', and E is likely now uninvited from my sister's wedding. I don't know what to do.
TL;DR - my sisters' combined graduation and birthday party is cut short because my dad got secretly married to an entitled woman, who now wants us cut off from 'her' family.
