2024.05.20 08:17 Effective-Map5497 5 Vital Pet Food Facts Every Pet Parent Should Know!

Introduction:
Are you a devoted pet parent in Kolkata, eager to ensure your furry companion's optimal health? Understanding the essentials about pet food is key. Here are five crucial insights tailored for pet owners in Kolkata, particularly those seeking quality options at pet shops and dog food shops in the area.
  1. Label Literacy:
When browsing the aisles of pet shops in Kolkata, pay close attention to labels. Opt for foods with high-quality proteins like chicken, beef, or fish as the primary ingredient, steering clear of fillers such as corn, wheat, and soy, commonly found in lower-grade options.
  1. Tailored Nutrition:
Pets' nutritional needs evolve with age. Seek out pet foods specifically formulated for your furry friend's life stage, whether puppy, adult, or senior, ensuring they receive the appropriate balance of nutrients.
  1. Processing Matters:
Consider the processing methods employed in pet food production. While convenient, heavily processed dry kibble may lack vital nutrients, making wet food a viable alternative found in many dog food shops in Kolkata.
  1. Homemade Caution:
While homemade diets may seem appealing, they require meticulous formulation to meet pets' nutritional requirements. Consult a veterinary nutritionist before embarking on this route to ensure your pet's needs are adequately met.
  1. Value in Quality:
Investing in high-quality pet food from trusted pet shops in Kolkata may seem pricier initially but can prevent future health issues, promoting longevity and vitality in your beloved companion.
Conclusion:
Prioritize your pet's well-being by absorbing these essential pet food insights. By selecting quality options from reputable pet shops and dog food shops in Kolkata, you can ensure your furry friend enjoys a nourishing diet tailored to their needs. Your pet's health is worth every thoughtful choice! đŸŸ

2024.05.20 06:32 vevesta Gamification and Why It Shouldn't be an Afterthought !!

TLDR - Unlocking the Power of Gamification: Integrating User Respect, Data Collection, and Psychological Insights

What is Gamification ?

Gamification is an art and science of engaging and retaining customers by tapping into their psychology and forming habits that stick. These habits can have positive and/or negative effects on the customer. It should not be a surprise that gamification is used by many companies focusing on increasing retention/engagement of the app.
Example : LinkedIn utilizes the user’s urge to reach full potential and 5 star profile rank and it urges the user to fill their details on the app. It also gives away “top voice of “ a particular field by urging users to engage with questions that LinkedIn posts and if you get votes, you get labeled the voice of the particular field.

Is respect what the user needs ?

A popular example of successful gamification is Duolingo. Interestingly, the app has a character of its own and the user finds himself/herself engaging with a cute owl and a girl, Lily, amongst others. This makes it particularly engaging for users. Duolingo gets a lot of things right from the perspective of gamification. Like all others, Duolingo sends notifications but with measured pace and pauses it when the user refuses to engage with it. There appears to be a fundamental thread of respect for users. I particularly was fascinated by the fact that it gives you reasons why the app shows you advertisements. It isn’t apologetic but at the same time, lets the user know that it’s necessary for running the app for free. This is refreshing when compared to giant social networks that take the time of the user for granted.

Gamification as a means to collect data

The often ignored aspect of the gamification is the clickstream data that gets collected. Clickstream is a series of actions, such as clicks, cursor movement etc, the user takes on the product. This data opens an interesting possibility to understand the users of the product. Not long back there were number studies focusing on device usage that showed distinctive behavior of Apple users as compared to Android users. Similarly, actions of the users can be used to segment the users into various user profiles to judge which ones are power users, active users, and passive ones.
In Duolingo, the users are shown a lot of advertisements of games such as candy crush saga. Maybe the google algorithm, targeting the duolingo app users, identifies that users of this app are more likely to play other games too. Similarly, LinkedIn’s attempt to introduce small games onto the platform, might improve their ability to segment their customers into interesting cohorts, with questions such as do gamers find it harder or easier to switch jobs? Or, do gamers stay longer at jobs or switch jobs faster than non gamers? Or, Are people exploring games are in fact stressed at work and are likely to quit in coming months, making them an appealing candidate for jobs outreach by talent acquisition.

What underlying Psychological drives of user’s does Gamification tap into ?

Gamification can be seen as an interplay of habits that either contribute to user’s well-being in economic, professional or health, etc or ones that negatively impact these facets. Often cited, some of the drives that impact habit formation of a product are curiosity and unpredictability during discovery phase, the achieving a sense of competence during onboarding stages, and finally users might want to continue using the product due to inability to lose their achievements. An important thing to note here is that the user should have worked hard and tried actively to earn those achievements. If I were to take my own example, I am a user of Myntra app (i.e. a predominantly fashion clothing and accessories app). Myntra gives away gamified points whenever the customer makes a purchase. But since users like me have never worked to achieve those points in the first place, users (at least me) don’t get bothered if they say that they are losing their access to an exclusive online club if users no longer continue to do a required action such as purchase on the app. In general, gamification should be pursued with careful consideration and slapping on gamification as an afterthought doesn’t really help with increasing customer engagement.

2024.05.20 03:18 mkh-idk Stressing out

I've been at my new job for roughly 3 months now, I honestly don't hate the job itself. The job seems nice and I'm still in the training stage as the the training lasts about 6 months.
But the the people here are awful. It's very clicky but there is only one click in the work place. And if you don't fit, you're an outsider. There's one girl who is shunned out of the work click that EVERYONE talks about. They all say they hate her and how she's horrible at her job. They make sneers and say phrases like "don't be a [insert name]". Even the supervisors do it. Mind you there's only roughly 10-20 people who work there but still.
The people here are fake too. They act as if they can read people. For example, they are constantly trying to tell me I'm appearing one way when in reality, I was just hanging out being neutral.
We were in training class and I was just listening the the instructor. I was getting what he was saying (he had been going on and on about the same thing for roughly 20 mins) and he looked at me and said I looked confused and asked if I needed clarification. I responded saying I understood what he was saying and that I wasn't confused and he dismissed me by saying that he could just tell by my face that I was too shy and was still confused by something and proceeded to continue to explain as if I didn't say I understood him.
It's almost gaslighting how theses people are. They've got a inferiority/superiority complex and feel like they know people so well when I think they really don't.
Also, the two people I'm training with are the biggest mean girls ever! Like they've walked out of some trashy early 2000s high school TV show. They talk shit about EVERYONE. Someone says anything and they're smirking and giggling about how weird that person was. For a normal human interaction. And I can tell they HATE me. They're very fat phobic, both weighing maybe 115 pounds each. I'm here weighing 170. And they've made it a point to let me know. They've constantly mentioned how worried they would be to gain weight (we sit in a chair at work all day) and how it would be the worst. They talk about how the people here must not go to the gym and every time they mention a person, they have to bring up if they're fat or not. And they've commented on how shocked they were to see me eating apples and carrots and other veggies. Yes. I'm chubby, but I eat healthy. I have health issues that make losing weight difficult.
I'm honestly just hating it here. Not because of the job, but because of the people. I feel like I'm constantly being watched and judged and no matter what I do, it being misconstrued. Last week there was a training bit where I did a simulation and the instructor said I did good but should also add an additional step. Not having been told that step, I asked for further clarification so I could fix it and be able to do the right steps in the future. She marked me as "argumentative and that I reacted as if I were offended."
I can't do anything right with these people.
I stay too quiet to not cause issue I'm labeled "mousey" and need to speak up. I speak up, I'm argumentative.
I feel like they're trying to make me quit. I want to quit. But this job was literally my last attempt at staying in this area due to there being no jobs here.
If I loose this job, I'm going to have to move.
I also fear I don't have the mental compactity to be able to keep fighting and search for another job. This job and the people here are just another kick in the gut and slap in the face. Daily. I'm stressed and depressed and feel like I'm failing. And I don't think I can keep trying.
I'm so lost and I don't know what to do. And I just don't want to go to work tomorrow. For another day of mental torture.

2024.05.20 02:32 Capable-Jicama2155 My thoughts on Reddit's monetization efforts

With all of Reddit's recent news and releases, I wanted to write a post detailing Reddit's monetization efforts.
Reddit Awards
Reddit recently re-released awards, this time allowing people to react to posts with awards that are actually redeemable for money. Dubbed the contributor economy.
The model is supposed to follow something like Twitch where viewers can donate subs or bits to creators with quality content.
In theory, I think it's a great idea. I don't think we'll see the same interactions as we do on Twitch, where viewers primarily support their favorite streamers. But I do see a world where the contributor economy grows for things like: community fundraisers, donations to artists, etc.
The issue is that Reddit has done so little marketing for how the awards systems works, that hardly anyone knows how it works. If you look at the popular posts of the day, posts that have 50k upvotes might have 1 or 2 awards at most. Some of them do have awards, but most of them tend to be from the legacy gold system, where the awards aren't actually convertible to money.
Another issue is that the awards actually suck. I bought $50 in awards to test out the feature, and the images/emojis are actually terrible.
I see a world where these awards actually become an extremely profitable revenue stream, obviously not even close to Ads, but the feature in it's current state was extremely underwhelming.
Ads
I think Reddit's doing a great job with their advertising platform. Contrary to popular belief, I think Reddit actually has an excellent product for advertisers. Communities are quite neatly labeled, and advertisers can target the audience quite easily compared to other platforms.
They are doing a great job with marketing and building out a service center. I think it will continue to be a >90% revenue stream for Reddit as it grows.
The hard part is getting market share from companies that have historically advertised on Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Optimistically Reddit could grow this into a $10b ARR business within the next 5 years.
Partnerships and Data Licensing
Obviously with the growth in AI investment, Reddit is uniquely positioned to benefit a ton from this. There's no other platform on the planet with this much uniquely labeled current human interactions. Companies building AI, and perhaps other industries like Finance would invest in Reddit's data.
I think this could optimistically become a $2b ARR business in the next 5 years.
How does this affect market cap?
It all depends on how quickly these monetization efforts grow. In Q1, we saw a 50% yoy increase in revenue. If somehow, someway we that yoy increase hits 100%, we could see a market cap of 20-50X revenue. So if Reddit makes $2b next in 2025, and $4b in 2026, we could see a market cap increase of up to $200b.
I think that Reddit's monetization efforts are still in it's nascency. It could take 1 to 2 years for them to really start to explode. In which case, it's highly possible that Reddit hovers around the $10-$15b range.
But I truly think that Reddit is a generational platform, and you'll rarely get the opportunity to invest in a company with this much product success that is still in the early stages of monetization.

2024.05.20 01:40 badgrapes How do you organize work projects & life admin?

Looking for advice/thoughts on setting up ClickUp to manage both work projects and "life admin." I'm using the Personal Workspace Layout and have no collaborators.
I know that it's helpful to start as simply as possible and add complexity as it becomes actually needed. The thing is, I'm importing a few projects already underway (plus a lot of small tasks of varying value), and want to avoid defaulting to my familiar old systems without assessing whether they're actually working for me, or are a good fit for ClickUp.
Assess my setup and give me feedback on where to go from here! I've included a ton of detail on my current setup below. If it's TL;DR, my more general question is: Tell me how you set up ClickUp to handle both work and life admin projects. How are you using categories, status, priorities, tags, and task types? I'm having trouble figuring out how to use them, especially since there seems to be a lot of potential overlap between them. Or, what advice do you have for migrating to ClickUp with a couple complex projects already underway, plus a lot of small tasks?
For context, here's how I have ClickUp set up right now. It's pretty simple but I'm still not clear whether it's the right approach (and FYI, I'm not wedded to it at all), plus there are still lots of components that don't neatly fit anywhere in my current setup:
Next, there are a few different types of things I'm trying to plan and keep track of. As mentioned, I'm not really sure how I should be thinking about them through the framework of categories, status, priorities, tags, and task types.
Give me advice on how to organize all these things, please! Or just tell me about your ClickUp setup for work and life admin projects! Or give me advice for migrating to ClickUp with a bunch of tasks and a couple complex projects already underway, rather than starting from complete scratch!

2024.05.19 23:50 ReferenceDistinct973 Overattaching and overthinking

As title suggests this is about over attaching and overthinking while dating or in relationship as both has occured for me. I am quite aware of these bad traits of mine and its not something easy to get rid off takes quite some personal growth and work.
My question is how did you get away from those traits and secure healthier relationships. What made just finally be more trusting and self secured.
Let me gove you example of what i am through now. I finally started dating again my last break up. This girl i am seeing now its quite the opposite of what i normaly would of dated and i wanted this as its completly different and refreshing. We been on maybe 8 dates we hang out maybe once to twice a week.
The thing is this girl is not a texter or doesnt really use social media. Pretty much not really attached to her phone as most mondern people are. What the problem is me i am big texter or not its more of a insecurity and i want contact. But she is not it takes her always long to respond at any situation however in person she will talk the ears of me and have great time. However the days we are not talking i overthink that shes is not intrested or hooking up with other people. I did bring up exclusivity while we dating she did not want to put label on us as its to early and she was never in relationship before either. But she did say she only dates one person at a time which in we agreed. But yeah how do j stop my self on overthinking and insecurity in the early stages of dating, however this kinda carried over to my relationships in the past. I definitely recognize my own destructive patern and i know what i am dojng wrong and making it better. But i would like some real advice from someone who was like me what makes you finally snap out of that destructive behavior and be more trusting and opening up to love more. Not sure of i phrased this well but hopefully someone understands

2024.05.19 19:59 RedWhiteBluesGuitar C0met P1ng P0ng. P1zzaG@te.

You dare not use the "P Word."
P_G draws all the looneys out; the type of crazy person that will say anything to derail the conversation; the type of hand wringing that makes it obvious there is a cover up going on.
David Seaman has alerts set up so that he is ready to respond to any P_G post within moments, to insert disinformation about James Alefantis being a Rothschild and intentionally, always, forgetting the fact that "I've never had an affair before" is the end of an email thread that describes providing three young girls for entertainment.
The P_G terrifies shills and it terrifies elites such that they spent billions trying to bury the story and make it even seem dangerous to talk about. The over-the-top suppressive response was what drew a lot of people's attention.
On Reddit, you can see the censorship at work; the most reasonable answer, awarded "Reddit Gold" is deleted.
https://i.imgur.com/teOOQPI.png
rareddit allows one to see what Reddit has deleted. In this case, we see that Reuters set of a "strawman argument" about a basement, while ignoring the real focus; the convicted pedophiles; the satanic imagery; the corruption. Reuters is a corrupt mouthpiece of the elite.
https://i.imgur.com/HZ2S8lF.png
Reuters recycled an old trope from another child sex story in Britain, "There is no basement, so there is no child abuse." The problem is that Reuters and James Alefantis lied to you. Why would they lie about a basement?
https://i.imgur.com/3Vsgpbz.jpg
Ben Swann did a 5 minute run down, which is the best introduction to the issue:
Here is the video:
https://gvid.tv/v/XzjlMh
Here is a screenshot of the opening:
https://i.imgur.com/U6oQa28.png
But notice he says, in regards to John Podesta's emails "none mention child sex trafficking".
There is literally a file called "Italy Child Sex." There is the hot tub email. Ben Swann does a pretty good job of balancing what he is and isn't allowed to say, but his summary leaves a lot to be desired.
https://i.imgur.com/o3Tyt1e.png
He does mention the "code words." "Cheese pizza" has been used as an alternative way of referring to "child porn" on the Internet, for years. 4chan even organically invented a way to deal with "cheese pizza" threads, by inserting pictures of spider man to fill the threads to limit.
"Dr. Pizza", a journalist with Ars Technica, staunchly denied Pizzagate was real, but was then caught as being a pedophile. Dojo Pizzeria was tied to an arrest. "The Pizza Connection Trial" involved using pizzerias for laundering money from drugs and human trafficking. There are plenty of red flags.
https://i.imgur.com/zBygdzo.png
Megyn Kelly did the most unjournalistic interview, possible, of James Alefantis in order to help cover up the crimes involved. She leaves out the blackmail case, Laura Silsby, the pedo musicians (Sex Stains, Majestic Ape), the satanic imagery on Alefantis' Instagram, the babies, drugs and money on Instagram, and on and on. Megyn Kelly is not just the dumbest reporter, there is, she is intentionally blind to the obvious.
https://i.imgur.com/IeLc8Rd.png
It is worth noting that Alefantis allowed a camera into the pizzeria to show a bullet hole in the computer, claiming that it went through the door first... but there is no bullet hole in the door.
https://i.imgur.com/orQNaSY.png
Megyn Kelly expresses horror, sympathy over Pizzagate in first interview with Comet Ping Pong owner
https://archive.ph/mC7q7
A fake media narrative was set up that discussing this topic was dangerous, when they staged a scene where son of an FBI agent "show up" Comet Ping Pong. A "False Flag" shooting.
https://i.imgur.com/7GN1Mzv.png
The lie was obvious. Why would a "P_G Researcher" shoot a computer that supposedly housed all the evidence?
https://i.imgur.com/qeX1oVG.jpg
Despite the suppression and spin of the story, it continued to gather steam on the Internet, resulting in entire communities being banned; tens of thousands of people blocked from viewing any content.
Before Reddit completely banned P_G subreddit, this was one of the last posts (which was deleted along with everything else.)
https://i.imgur.com/DKJkdQJ.png
Given all of the corruption and cover ups we know about, it is no surprise that P_G has been reduced to nothing more than a footnote in conspiracy forums. But, when there are new developments, thousands of people take notice, though they no longer discuss it, from fear of being banned.
The last corners of the Internet where people were allowed to discuss, were heavily shilled and monitored by SITE Intelligence Group (Mossad cut out that makes fake threat reports) and their allies, so that they could be labeled "extremists."
Even in those dark corners of the Internet, the issues were still being pushed and still causing some progress to be made; if nothing else, then they at least continued raising awareness.

P_G did not pop out of thin air. Not only was pizza already in wide use as a code word, John Podesta already had a reputation for being involved in blackmail rings.
https://i.imgur.com/s6P9uJF.png
Comet P1ng P0ng already had a reputation of documenting wild parties. Nevermind, whether or not, that could be Hillary and Huma on a ping pong table; why would there even be two women dressed to look like Hillary and Huma on a ping pong table? And why would that be recorded and then rebroadcast at Comet?

https://archive.ph/WA4lM
The research continued, but the astroturfing stuck to the same tired arguments that were now, officially, debunked.
https://i.imgur.com/pGuTcie.jpg
P_G drew so many people not because of a basement, or a specific allegation; people were drawn in because it pulled together so many issues under one umbrella, resulting in a series of cascading epiphanies that was neurologically rewarding researchers.
https://i.imgur.com/1NLY4de.png
It is now deleted, but my recollection of when P_G "broke" was on the now banned "The Donald" subreddit, when, along with the realization that John Podesta and James Alefantis were connected in a number of ways (David Brock even claimed they were dating in a video interview), the "FBIAnon" post about Hillary Clinton being involved in human trafficking, the connection with Marina Abramovic and "Spirit Cooking", and the "Edible Schoolyard"... the question emerged organically...

Before Comet P1ng P0ng made the spotlight, most people were not aware of information that was already available.

But P_G was more than just about research into what was going on politically, or into James Alefantis obvious satanic proclivities and his obvious attraction to children. What was revealed was a dark nexus of media, politics and these weirdo cultists.
There was a widespread epiphany of a great many people that this degeneracy was being intentionally pushed by people who were occultists and wanted everyone else wrapped up in their dark religion. And when we said, "No", they collectively lost their minds.
It should also being concerning that Kamala Harris was tied to Comet, as well, and, seemingly, a top choice for John Podesta to run for office. Considering her ties to fake police...

Truman Show\Florida!!!\Fresh out the Slammer
So I know a lot of people have talked about Taylor and the Truman show. I thought it was interesting when you play TTPD in reverse order starting with the song Florida!!!
First a synopsis of the movie: He doesn't know it, but everything in Truman Burbank's (Jim Carrey) life is part of a massive TV set. Executive producer Christof (Ed Harris) orchestrates "The Truman Show," a live broadcast of Truman's every move captured by hidden cameras. Cristof tries to control Truman's mind, even removing his true love, Sylvia (Natascha McElhone), from the show and replacing her with Meryl (Laura Linney). As Truman gradually discovers the truth, however, he must decide whether to act on it.
At the end there is a scene where he gets on a boat to try to escape even though they made him afraid of water by having his father "drown" when he was a child. Does this remind anyone of something? Throughout my whole career, label executives and publishers would just say, Don't be like the Dixie Chicks. And... I loved the Dixie Chicks.
This is his True Love. She's wearing a pin here that say's How's it going to end?
https://preview.redd.it/9tlbyt3p4f1d1.png?width=2024&format=png&auto=webp&s=29a40bd84b65aaf61758791f24e5c7d7c92faeac
So back to the ending of the Truman show. He's on the boat and he looks down to this face of his True Love that he's pieced together from magazines. It's literally not a picture of one woman. It's a collage of women that represents his True Love.
https://preview.redd.it/sa3vea5vve1d1.png?width=916&format=png&auto=webp&s=3bcf6f8f8941ec7c223b798f2ca6cf6787a0914c
They don't want him to escape so they they throw a storm at him. A hurricane with his name on it.

https://preview.redd.it/s8ofuycp1f1d1.png?width=1863&format=png&auto=webp&s=ed68a7574a733f2bb92a48a4065dd4013e95bd5e

Truman's not going to back down and he dares them to keep going.
https://preview.redd.it/gh3nxt3s1f1d1.png?width=1868&format=png&auto=webp&s=436a312a7fb24136382c519ea19067752c6ad568

Now Truman is under water not moving and then if you started playing Florida when this scene started the song is just ending and Fresh out the Slammer starts. The storm ends and Truman gets back in the boat and starts coughing.
https://preview.redd.it/tgsqlyy22f1d1.png?width=1838&format=png&auto=webp&s=55eb732a93279533d1260ea7666da2fbc423652a
Now, pretty baby, I'm running back home to you Fresh out the slammer, I know who my first call will be to
Truman hoists the sails and looks up to the sun. It feels like freedom as he starts sailing again.
https://preview.redd.it/iujam6qc0f1d1.png?width=3510&format=png&auto=webp&s=cd4c1faf0779f7d5a9120926b1f17c638c29cdae
He hits the wall at the edge of the massive sound stage, gets out and walks towards the stairs to exit.

2024.05.19 19:30 Kenh2k Existancism/Existancist?

Hello all,
Hopefully I won't get banned with my first post.
It seems to me that atheism means "critic of organized religions" as much as it means "someone who doesn't believe in a G*d". This is fine. I'm not trying to attack or defend atheist or theists.
However, I'm curious to see if there's others here who are like me, who are just happy to exist? Yes, I'm well aware of the centuries of intolerable cruelty foisted on humanity by religion. But I also have people in my life whom I love and depend on who's morality was the byproduct of their religious cultural upbringing.
At this stage in my life, I look back and see that my identity was affected more by scientific consensus than the Christian theology I was born and raised with. Things like the unlikeliness my existence. How rare this intelligent life sustaining world is. The nature of consciousness. The more I learn and read about these topics, the more any modern religion feels like an ancient culture's mythology.
However, the theists in my family most likely would take offence to me self-identifying as an atheist, which I feel is unfortunate. If their happy and not hurting anyone I'm happy to celebrate their culture as I would anyone else's.
So, again, I'm not out to defend religion but the more I read about atheism, the more it's about the leveling criticism at religion. Which, again, I get.
So my question. Is there a word, label, school of thought, for those like me who are just utterly gobsmacked to exist? The closest word I come up with to describe my thought is existancism or existancist. Mother Google tells me that those words or my applied concept is not used. She just thinks I spelled existentialist wrong.
If you read this, thank you for your time.

2024.05.19 14:21 Im6arely4live ABYG if I ended my talking stage because of his followings?

I am F(21) and he's M(24), we met through our close friends but we are studying at different schools. We both like each other and I thought he'll be my first ldr relationship because I'm from Quezon and he's studying at Cebu. He's a pilot student so he's busy but we kept calling each other during our breaks and this kept going on since last year until this recent month.
At first I find him genuine but I am very bothered with his fb friends and followings because they all look like an all girls school and I had the ick when I saw that he follows, likes, and consumes sexual contents for almost everyday and for me that's a huge red flag. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I liked him, I know it was a wrong move.
I get easily turned off when I'm aware that there are other girls involved but not only that, I found out that he's not over his ex(indirectly) yet because he still have photos of her to this day and that's my dealbreaker. I confronted him about it and these is what he told me: (I'll paste it)
"Noo love I moved on na ska pic lang yan. Its no big deal ksi i have no feelings toward her na"
He kept being defensive and I find his replies unbelievable because I'm also a memory keeper but I delete photos of my exes once I'm done with them because it's time for me to move forward without them.
I also realized that why are we still in a talking stage this long, and also why would you want to entertain other people when you yourself know that you haven't moved on from your ex. I don't believe his replies because it sounds so fishy and his reasons sounds bs.
I don't want to feel like a rebound. I have told my friends about it and I asked for their advices. Most of them told me that it's a right decision for me if I'm leaving him..
ABYG if I'll leave him just because of this reasons? I kind of feel that it's reasonable but at the same time I feel like I am overreacting because we don't have a label but I was planning to make it legal this month even though he never courted me..
I just have this feeling that sooner or later we'll argue about him having his eyes on other girls. I am not very insecure, it's just that it's embarassing to know my future bf has his eyes on everybody. That's not something to be proud of.
I will talk to him tonight and I'll update here after I leave.

2024.05.19 14:09 Glittering-Use8439 I want to create a database in my docker image

Hey, first of all this is what my docker file looks right now:
# Use a lean container to run the application FROM AS base # Create a directory for the app WORKDIR /app # Create a directory for persistence RUN mkdir /app/persistance # Expose the ports used by the application EXPOSE 5000 EXPOSE 5001 ENV ASPNETCORE_URLS=http://+:5000 # Creates a non-root user with an explicit UID and adds permission to access the /app folder RUN adduser -u 5678 --disabled-password --gecos "" appuser && chown -R appuser /app USER appuser # Use a container that contains the complete SDK to build the container FROM AS build WORKDIR /src # Copy and restore dependencies COPY ["SoPro24Team01.csproj", "./"] RUN dotnet restore "SoPro24Team01.csproj" # Copy the rest of the source code COPY . . # Build and publish the application RUN dotnet publish "SoPro24Team01.csproj" -c Release -o /app/publish /p:UseAppHost=false # Install Entity Framework Core tools RUN dotnet tool install --global dotnet-ef --version 7.0.5 ENV PATH="$PATH:/root/.dotnet/tools" # Add EF Core design package RUN dotnet add package --version 7.0.5 # Create and apply migrations #RUN dotnet ef migrations add InitialCreate RUN dotnet ef database update WORKDIR /src # Use the base image for the final stage FROM base AS final # Set the working directory to /app WORKDIR /app # Copy the published application to the final image COPY --from=build /app/publish . # Enable watchtower LABEL com.centurylinklabs.watchtower.enable="True" # Change ownership of the /app directory to appuser USER root RUN chown -R appuser /app # Switch back to appuser USER appuser # Set the entry point to run the application ENTRYPOINT ["dotnet", "SoPro24Team01.dll"]mcr.microsoft.com/dotnet/aspnet:6.0-focalmcr.microsoft.com/dotnet/sdk:6.0-focalMicrosoft.EntityFrameworkCore.Design
My Goals are the following:
-make the database persistent in a volume
-container creates the database during the build process
-ive got an old database from my project(task) that database shouldn't be copied in project so I create an docker ignore file
-create an empty subfolder named 'persistence' in the image, so that your application creates a new database there when starting up, if it doesn't already exist.
My code doesn't work because its always throws an error when I try to add migrations. This line throws the Error: RUN dotnet ef database update
is my code wrong fro creating an database, ive looked it up on Microsoft Learn: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/ef/core/get-started/overview/first-app?tabs=netcore-cli
Error:
16.19 An error occurred using the connection to database 'main' on server '/root/.local/share/persistance/lessons.db'.
16.23 Microsoft.Data.Sqlite.SqliteException (0x80004005): SQLite Error 14: 'unable to open database file'.
In my dotnet application my context looks like this:
public LessonContext() { var folder = Environment.SpecialFolder.LocalApplicationData; var path = Environment.GetFolderPath(folder); DbPath = System.IO.Path.Join(path,"persistance", "lessons.db"); }

2024.05.19 10:05 ggwplucky [Abandoned Pools] Sony Connect Track by Track Interview

[Abandoned Pools] Sony Connect Track by Track Interview
A while back I was messing around with the Wayback Machine & came across this diamond in the rough on AP's MySpace page. Also found some photos, but most importantly, a track-by-track [Armed To The Teeth] interview from Sony Connect that they did back in '05 (presumably around the same time they did the Sony Connect set with the acoustic songs).
In the interview, Tommy tells the story behind each track on Armed To The Teeth (except Lucky). You'll also find tidbits about the process, lyrically & sonically of these songs, and much more!
If you want to read it/see it from the "raw" source and discover more, here's a link with the Wayback's capture I found on the interview blog: https://web.archive.org/web/20071005015435/http://www.myspace.com/abandonedpools
Now without further ado, the Sonic Connect Interview:
A track by track discussion of Armed to the Teeth from the Sony Connect Store interview:
LETHAL KILLERS TW: As far as how that [demo of the] song was constructed ... I did this trick where I would take a half-time drum loop and sort of nudge it one way and then put in another track and nudge it the other, and we got this sort of double time, rolling drum feel. So that - plus the sort of round-robin type of guitar parts that we have going - was sort of a very easy construction for a song. And then you start moving the bass part around, and, boom, you've got a song.
But I think that lyrically - I want to make it clear that that song isn't necessarily [about] "church is bad, government's bad." I think it's a little bit more complicated than that, though sometimes if you mix the two of religious power and government power, that can be bad for both of them. And I kinda like the idea of not living a life saying, "Well, you better live life in a certain way because then, you know, everything's gonna be great later in heaven." You know, the idea of, like, if this is all we have now, if that idea was just a little bit more embraced, our world could be a little bit better. I just find that a little bit more satisfying, too, if you think like, this is all you have and then you're gonna die. [Laughs] It seems a little bit more like, "Oh, okay, well!" instead of, like, thinking that there's some other life at some other time and you can put things off.
RABBLE TW: Well, a lot of the songs on this record - about two-thirds of it - have to do with a relationship I had that went south, and you know when you go through relationships you always have such a good 20/20 hindsight about things. And I think "Rabble" is just trying to basically say to somebody, "I just wanted to know you better" . . . It's just one of those things where, with this relationship in particular, I wish it would have turned out better. And there's a lot of things that happened that shouldn't have happened, and it's just sort of one of those "oh, what could have been?" scenarios.
THE CATALYST TW: "The Catalyst" is definitely along the same lines. I think the main line in that one is "I wish I could say something beautiful to make you fall in love again." There's a Coachella reference in there, too: "Love has slowly faded away like spotlights shining into space." Have you ever been to Coachella? Of course you have. You know, there's all those spotlights that shoot up in the air. I just thought that was kinda cool, like, how far do those lights really go? "The Catalyst" was also the last song written for the record. It was demoed while we were in the studio. And it's one of those songs that I said two-thirds of the record was written for somebody. That's one of them.
TIGHTER NOOSE TW: "Tighter Noose" is the oldest song on the record by far. It was probably written back in '99, 2000, or somewhere in there. I was thinking about it for the first record [2001's Humanistic], but it didn't really fit in with those kind of songs, so I kept it around and we'd even play it live occasionally. I think it fits in with these songs way better. [As for what "Tighter Noose" is about,] that song is one of those breaking-off-on-your-own- what-have-you-got-to-lose kind of things, because that was written sort of in the wake of when I was in The Eels. It wasn't a terribly happy situation, so I was like, well screw it, I'm just gonna go off and do my own thing. And then it's sort of like, well, you know: "I'm gonna go start my own thing. Uh, I have to learn to sing and write songs now." [Laughs] It's kinda funny: "Screw you guys! I'm gonna go get a deal!" And then like, "Uh oh." But really, I'm a firm believer in that [idea that] you just gotta go for it. And so it was like, well, this is gonna be difficult, but it's gonna be better than what I had before. And actually, with some distance on that situation, I realized I made the right decision and made a lot more money and was a lot more happy as a result. So that was sort of a leap of faith, you know. I didn't want to be someone's stupid bass player. Now I'm my own stupid bass player.
WAITING TO PANIC TW: There was a lull between record companies. The first record [Humanistic] was on Extasy - I don't know if you know about that company, but we were basically the poster-child for the implosion of an indie label. I came off the road in 2002, the label's folding, and I'm like, well, I'm just gonna go back and give this my best shot and we'll get another deal. It seemed highly unlikely, but we ended up doing it. And there was just a lull in there where nobody was interested. I had attorneys not returning my phone calls - that kinda stuff. It felt like, I'm just waiting around and I'm really anxious. So that was a song of frustration that was written and demoed all in one day - it was a song that just came out of me in like eight hours. We also put an EP out [The Reverb EP] and on the EP is the version of that demo that I did in one day. It doesn't happen [like that] very often. Usually I build bed tracks and come back to it a few weeks later and add something, and then come back a couple of days later. This one was all in one shot.
HUNTING TW: My friend Ross Golan, who has his own band Ross Golan and Molehead, had been following the wake of the relationship. He's like, "You just gotta write her a song and use her name." And I'm like, nah, nah, it's not covered enough. And he's like, "No, just do it. Go for it." So I did. I wrote this song and I wrote it for her for her birthday and I used her name, which is in the first lyric of the song, which is "Ginny." So I just went for it and wrote it. It was basically a birthday gift, and it was basically saying, like, you know, "Oops!" [Laughs] It didn't get me very far, but I like the song. We're friends, she's a good girl, absolutely, but back at that time, it was kinda like, "Erraaghhh! Here's a song!" But I like the song and I just think it was one of those times where I was really putting myself out there, and I know she liked it, too. But then, I think that's a myth where you just write a song and all of a sudden the girl just says, "Oh! Okay!" But, you know, hey. There it is. It's on the record.
That's the romantic notion of how they'll react to the song, at least.
TW: Exactly. And I'm really glad we're past that whole ironic phase, which I was part of with The Eels, where everything was super ironic and we'd play "The Macarena" on stage - [sarcastically] and that was funny! I'm glad we're through all that stuff, even though I was still a Beck fan when he was doing all that stuff, too. But I like being sincere and sappy and romantic. I kinda think that's a great thing.
ARMED TO THE TEETH TW: This is one of the first songs written when we came off the road and I had a lot of momentum. If you look at the state of the industry you can see a lot of corporations that seem to have to buy everything in sight. They just have to own everything, and to what purpose? Does it really make the industry much better? No. There's fewer outlets, there's a lot more gatekeepers. They want to buy stuff and it just kinda makes things bad for everybody. All the radio stations play the same shit - except for Indie 103.1 and KCRW in L.A. In spite of it all, I'm just gonna try to do my best and have a career anyway. When we came off the road I felt like I had a lot of momentum. Performing live is inspiring to writing, so it was just the whole idea of, "Alright, now that I have one record under my belt, I'm gonna really go for it in spite of all the forces that be." Even though they're pretty much indifferent to us, [laughs] their actions do affect us. It's sort of a song of bravado.
Why did you also choose "Armed To The Teeth" as the name of the album, too, which, in turn, implies it as the overall theme?
TW: Yeah, which is funny, since I kinda decided on that theme early on, thinking I was gonna go in a certain way, but then, like I said, two-thirds of the record is love songs. So "Armed To The Teeth" doesn't really fit in a certain way, but I also liked it just because [of] that idea of, like, now I'm really ready to make a record, and also I think it reflects the state of the country a little bit. Everything's a little bit aggressive, we're at war, and I thought it was sort of timely in that way
SOONER OR LATER TW: "Sooner Or Later" is another one of those tracks that was written after we got signed, so it's a newer song. I mentioned that sort of double time drum loop thing with "Lethal Killers" - this is the same thing. It's a half time drum loop that I nudged in one direction and then put in another track and nudge it in the other, then "boom," it's double time. And I like that, it's a good effect. It really sets up this kind of overlapping, rolling sound that a real drummer can't do. And things flam a little bit, and I really like that feel, so this song was constructed in the same manner where you have a rolling drum loop and then you put over a couple of guitar parts here and there and all of a sudden you got a song - I think this song is over six minutes. This is, um, I guess it's a couple things. Lyrically, it's sort of saying, like, whatever you do or whatever you say, there's no point in hiding anything because it all comes out in the end - which is the tagline in the chorus. There's no hiding. And in the verse it says, "Sooner or later / It's all coming down." In some way or another, whether you acknowledge it or if it just eats at your self, you can't really get away with anything. It's sort of fatalistic that way, but also in terms of, like, seeing how I also look at as a bigger picture of, like, politically, and since we're at war right now, it seems like things are getting a little scary. And that's kind of like one of those doomsday scenarios. If you look around a little you can really freak yourself out if you're reading about, like, bio-warfare and things like that. So a lot of this talk about "smoking gun in the shape of a mushroom cloud" and all that, it sort of brought up for me a lot of doomsday scenarios. So it's two-fold: it's that doomsday scenario, in terms of as far as the world is concerned, and then, personally, if you do stupid shit then you're eventually gonna pay for it somehow.
SAILING SEAS TW: Like "Hunting," this is probably the most direct, out-there storytelling song. Instead of using her [real] name, it's switched to "Holly," which is in the chorus. So it's another one of those songs talking straight to somebody. And there's a lot of details in there that I wouldn't talk about in normal conversation. That's the funny thing about songwriting where I wouldn't talk about this, but then I can put it in this song and you can still hear it and you still understand, but it's sort of masked a little bit. It's presented in a certain way where it's somehow okay to say that when you're in a major key or something. Because like, the second verse is about pretending you're outside a room listening to somebody [you love] have sex [with someone else], and that's a situation to put yourself into to really torture yourself. I created this scenario in my head and I put it in a song, and it's kinda brutal, but the [beat of the] song is upbeat and happy.
RENEGADE TW: This is a sample-based type song [with] drum loops. The cello was originally a Bjork sample and we replaced it. This one is sort of hard to explain. To me it’s just sort of like just a creation, because some of the record is social commentary, and I think there's a lot of that in this song, and it's like little snippets and ideas, and not necessarily one unifying idea. I think it's just kind of a song based on looking around and taking stock of things. This song in particular isn't really even about anything. It's just, like, observations, pretty much. And, oh, by the way, Billy Howerdel, the guitarist from A Perfect Circle, is playing guitar on that song. He jumped on that track and he's the one that makes it sound scary.
MAYBE THEN SOMEDAY TW: That was one of the first songs written in the wake of the breakup. It was one of those kind of "well-it-just-didn't-work-out-but-maybe-one-day-we'll-see-what-happens" kind of things. Because the circumstances are such that it wasn't gonna happen immediately so I was kinda like, well, we'll see. I don't have much to say about that; it's just grouped in with "songs about her."
GOODBYE SONG TW: That was also written when there was not a lot going on for me and we hadn't really nailed down the record deal. She [Tommy's ex-girlfriend] always thought she was bad luck - she'd show up and bad things would start happening - so she thought it was her fault that I hadn't got a deal. She actually moved away and soon as she did, we got a deal. [Laughs] I think it's funny to sort of say, like the first line of the song is "I'm not washed up / And you're not bad luck for anyone," so, you know, get off the ledge, really. And it's just one of those things; it's one of those yearning songs. I think with a lot of those songs there's a certain amount of effort spent on presenting evidence, like, "Look, I know this is how you feel, but look at all the other stuff." It's almost like making a case for your self [in a song]. And like I said, it didn't get me far, but it's still a good venting process. And I sort of realize when I say things like, "I wrote this for her" or whatever, it's not really for her. It's more self-indulgent to get this stuff out. And in a way you're saying, "Yeah, I wrote this song for you," but no, you wrote it for yourself so you could say things that you felt like saying. So I realize that and I think I realized that while I was writing them, but my job is to write songs so you take from what's around you to make it happen.

2024.05.19 07:36 ThrowRAndomvoice How should I (26M) move forward with her (25F) after her continuous insensitivity towards me?

I (26M) has been in talking stage with a girl (25F) since few months. We both have admitted liking each other and decided not to rush into serious relationship and give it a time. We both initially shared good vibes and brought positivity. Things were going on smoothly and with time my attachment towards her was growing.
The thing is few years back I had faced a worst phase in my life due to medical issues which negatively impacted my career, education amd personal life. Due to that, I'm few years behind my friends. I have recovered from that illness after years of medication and precautions. Recently I believe I have been doing good and my life is back on track. That past doesn't bother me anymore.
I had told her about my past and she told me to forget it and move on. I believe I'm doing so. Whenever she feels low or has a rough day, I put efforts to cheer her up and listen to her problems without any judgement. But whenever I am in bad situation she forbids me to have negative emotions. She guilts me even for being practical and considering pros amd cons of certain things and urges to focus on only pros. At a conversation about few years back I brought up how I had to go through that and now I have to put extra efforts to cover up for that time, she got mad at me for ever mentioning that.
She labeled me as a sad soul, negative soul and a time waster. She also mocks me for my introvertness calling me silent terrible and untrustworthy person even though I openly talk to her. No matter how much I try to convince her of my growth and efforts, she doesn't want to remove such labels.
This impacted my confidence and I began doubting myself. To add salt to the wound, she got mad out of nowhere that I might treat her badly or display negative attitude towards her someday. I was like wtf. I never even talked rudely with her even if she continuously belittled me. She was angry for things I had never done and not even hinted of doing in the future.
I got so frustrated that I couldn't concentrate on my work and studies for a few days. I asked my sister and friends who had seen me through that worst phase till present if I was still that failure. They told me no to think so and I had outgrown that version and have become so much better version that they're proud of me. They aren't any sugarcoaters. They have openly criticized me in the past and pointed out my flaws honestly.
No matter how much I've tried to convince her I'm not the person that she perceives, all efforts are in vain. As her behavior and words were hurting me so much, I decided to cut her off and ignore her for few days just to clear my mind. Should I continue ignoring her or put more efforts to improve the perception that she has of me?

2024.05.19 06:25 Dry-Illustrator5292 Venerable Minh Tue and the Practice from a Buddhist Perspective

A few years ago, I had the chance to learn about Venerable Minh Tue through the YouTube channel Nhan Ga Vlogs. The videos show the monk in a cave at Mount San (Nha Trang), near my home. In these videos, the Venerable does not preach or talk about himself. He only answers questions and shares his journey of practice honestly. What I am most interested in are his insights on practice and discipline. I realized that Venerable Minh Tue has read extensively and understands the Nikaya scriptures deeply, practicing according to the Buddha's teachings. This led me to conclude that he is a true monk.
Today, Venerable Minh Tue is known by many (I prefer not to use the word "famous" for a monastic) and has widespread influence, reaching beyond national borders. The story of Venerable Minh Tue has become hotter than ever, flooding social media with videos and images of him. This has sparked a variety of opinions, ranging from admiration and respect to criticism and contempt. Many paths of human experience!
Fortunately, those who think negatively about him are still a minority.
Venerable Minh Tue practices the ascetic path of Dhutanga. Some people look at his conduct and attire and criticize him as crazy, self-mortifying, lacking wisdom, and not following the Middle Way that the Buddha encouraged. However, these critics do not realize that Venerable Minh Tue is practicing according to the correct Dharma, following the teachings of the original scriptures. He has abandoned family life, living a pure and simple life, renouncing all attachments, and practicing minimalism and contentment. People confuse the ascetic practices of Dhutanga with the severe austerities the Buddha practiced during his six years of seeking enlightenment. Those severe practices involved extreme self-mortification, causing great physical pain (originating from Brahmanism). Thus, Dhutanga in a sense is a precursor to the Middle Way and still closely aligns with it.
Many argue that monastic life should prioritize wisdom over physical asceticism. However, they confuse worldly wisdom with Buddhist wisdom. Worldly wisdom is human cognitive ability, derived from genetics and education, whereas Buddhist wisdom is only revealed when a practitioner strictly adheres to precepts. Observance of precepts leads to concentration, and concentration leads to wisdom. Therefore, the Buddha said, "Where there is virtue, there is wisdom and vice versa."
The core of practicing Dhutanga is to end all defilements and impurities. This practice helps the practitioner guard the senses, not being influenced by circumstances, gradually eliminating greed, hatred, and delusion. That is why monastics eat only one meal a day (reducing greed for food), sleep sitting (reducing the desire for sleep, as lying down can lead to deep, excessive sleep), and wear three robes (actually one set, the minimum requirement, reducing attachment to clothing).
Some criticize why a Dhutanga practitioner does not live alone in the forest but wanders across the country. The answer is that finding forests in Vietnam today like in the Buddha's time is impossible. Venerable Minh Tue has also spent time in seclusion on Mount San. So why does he choose to walk across the country? He answers that it is to "train and maintain health." In a deeper understanding, he is practicing the true Dharma of the Tathagata. Walking helps him to be mindful of body, feelings, mind, and phenomena; living in hardship, experiencing suffering, and understanding the cause of suffering leads to the end of suffering, rather than hoping to escape suffering to find happiness.
On his journey, if he is tempted by material possessions, money, or beauty, it means that desire has arisen; if he feels troubled by the crowd, it means anger has arisen. Therefore, solitary retreat alone may not necessarily help control the mind when faced with worldly temptations.
Many people also question the social utility of his wanderings. If everyone did as he does, who would produce food? These questions are shortsighted and self-serving.
What have we done for society? Everyone contributes to society in varying degrees, and human values are not solely measured by material contributions but also by spiritual ones. Typically, what we do is visible and beneficial to ourselves and our families. In contrast, what Venerable Minh Tue has done for society is far more significant and evident:
If society could follow his example, it would be wonderful. Then, I believe, society would not only have food and clothing but also a more peaceful and happy life. However, few people can do what he does!
Some people question why he refers to himself as "con" (child) instead of "tháș§y" (teacher).
First, he has chosen the path of renunciation, no longer bound by monastic duties at a temple, and does not consider himself anyone's teacher to avoid influencing others and bureaucratic issues.
Second, the self-reference "tháș§y" among monks and laypeople today is merely a convention in communication. There is no binding requirement. In essence, it is a cultural practice in Vietnamese language, while in English, it is just "I-You," or in Chinese, "Wǒ 我 - Nǐ 䜠." Some high-ranking monks still refer to themselves as "tĂŽi" (I) or their Dharma names when teaching. Venerable Minh Tue's use of "con" with everyone demonstrates his practice of humility, renouncing the ego, which is the spirit of selflessness.
Currently, wherever he goes, hundreds to thousands of people follow, including many YouTubers, TikTokers, and Facebookers. This has raised concerns about security and disruptions to his practice.
I believe we should not rush to blame or criticize those creating social media content. Let's see the positive side, for without them, how could the beautiful image of a true monk spread? In this era, spreading the Dharma and sharing good things are more effective with the support of media and social networks. How else would Vietnamese Buddhists know about the teachings of monks like Phap Hoa or Tinh Khong and other high-ranking monks?
Moreover, their gathering is also a test for Venerable Minh Tue to practice mind control. If he starts feeling important, central, or like a star due to attention and veneration, he immediately falls into ego clinging and arrogance. If he gets annoyed by the crowd, it means anger has arisen. These situations are ultimate tests on the path of precepts and mindfulness. Observing him, no matter how hard the walk, his face remains serene with a smile. Perhaps he has attained tranquility.
Some people express sympathy for him, tearfully seeing him bareheaded, barefoot, under the sun and rain. This emotional response is understandable but from a worldly perspective. Choosing the path of asceticism makes him feel internal joy, and these hardships help him approach enlightenment.
Some worry about him facing dangers from dark forces. Don't worry; choosing this path requires great courage. Didn't he say, "If I'm allowed to live, I'll continue to practice"? This shows fearlessness as he has thoroughly understood impermanence and selflessness. What we should care about is whether he has truly attained this mindset. If he has, Nirvana is not far away. Therefore, we should rejoice.
I predict that at some stage, after experiencing suffering and training body and mind, Venerable Minh Tue might retreat into seclusion to achieve enlightenment. Once precepts are fully observed, meditation is necessary to attain concentration.
Certainly, his influence has reduced the income of some fraudulent monks, who might even have to sell cars and land. Therefore, it is not surprising that efforts to defame and harm Venerable Minh Tue are intensifying. Initially, they fabricated stories of false monasticism with staged filming. They ridiculed his robe, calling it "plot selling land," or criticized his rice cooker as an unofficial alms bowl. But they fail to understand that he has reached a state of non-attachment, indifferent to shame or ridicule. Having chosen a renunciant life, living without family, sleeping in cemeteries, overcoming family ties is the greatest obstacle.
The meanest tactic they use is labeling him as an agent of foreign anti-government organizations, portraying him as a beggar monk to undermine Vietnamese Buddhism and the nation.
I must say, Vietnamese Buddhism is undermined by fraudulent monks, tolerated and supported. They exploit karma and reincarnation theories, distorting and frightening the ignorant with horrific afterlife scenarios. They continue exploiting donations as a way to resolve karmic debts, seeking blessings, and accumulating merit, the more money, the better, even encouraging devotees to donate entire houses to temples and live simply elsewhere. In short, just donate.
Therefore, the purification of fraudulent monks will be the revival of Vietnamese Buddhism.
Praising Venerable Minh Tue's practice does not mean devaluing other practices of true monks in the country. Each has different capacities and vows, so not everyone can be the same. Every individual is here to fulfill a unique mission.
If the standard of a monk is virtue, clearly, the one who practices surpasses the one who understands. Practicing Dhutanga is a great merit, rarely achieved. Therefore, praising and respecting virtue is right but not deifying or idolizing Venerable Minh Tuệ at this moment, as this would lead to wrong views and contradict the spirit of Buddhism.
To understand the significance of practicing Dhutanga, let me quote the Buddha's praise of Venerable Kasyapa's practice:
“Well done! Well done, Kasyapa! You have brought great benefit and saved innumerable beings, extending this to all the realms of gods and men. Why? Kasyapa, if this ascetic practice remains in the world, then my teachings will also remain long in the world. If my teachings remain in the world, then the path to the heavenly realm will increase, and the three evil paths will diminish. Likewise, the noble paths of Sotapanna, Sakadagami, Anagami, and the Three Vehicles will also remain in the world. Monks, you should practice as Kasyapa does.
Thus, monks, you should learn this.” (4)

The first jmp for another stage in bootloader development that we never forget
This is my first attempt at making an operating system from scratch, including the bootloader, and today I finally manage to jump to the second stage...
I know it's not too much, considering so many good people I see here, still, this is so incredible, the feeling of being able to learn and progress is something very good.
If you're like me, trying to understand all these concepts, don't stop! Keep going and learn! It will be rewarding.

2024.05.18 20:18 CaptainKamikaZ I can no longer launch or install apps from Crossover

Crossover has been acting up lately and I cannot figure out why. I could no longer launch ClassIn, which I need for work. I tried deleting the bottle and creating a new one. When I create a new bottle, it continues to try and create the bottle for hours. I kill Crossover, and the bottle is then present upon relaunch of Crossover. It always says "Windows XP" instead of Windows 10 even though I chose Windows 10. The status of the bottle always says "scanning".

When I try to install an application from a .exe file or from the list of recommended apps, it sits in the install stage for a very long time and the status does not change. Does anyone have any recommendations for fix attempts?

I have attached the cxdiag output that I received from terminal when scanning /opt/cxoffice
