Hi, everyone. It’s been over a decade since I last played tennis, but I really loved playing on a team in high school (I’m 32 now). I can’t remember the racquet I used then—only that it was a Dunlop with an oversized head that the employee at Dick’s Sporting Goods sold me. I don’t think it was the best but it served me well.
I didn’t know a whole lot about racquets then, nor now — but I am hoping to get back into playing recreationally for health and weight loss reasons.

This makes no sense whatsoever
They have told me multiple times That CALO didn’t do there job or any of the other residentials
But they spent 250,000$ usd on these places
And are willing to spend another 30,000$
I have tried and tried to convince them that none of these places work
And they are all for profit with untrained staff
That abuse or mistreat 100,000 broken and abandoned youth every year
My dad was looking at the GOOGLE reviews for a place and I could clearly see that the reviews were fake and when you went on yelp it was a 2.1 star place with legit reviews
This Industry is terrible
It abused me
It abused the family I was adopted into
And it took my youth away
I thought I would never have to go through this again
But I’m 17 and there’s nothing I can do
I wish we were heard
People don’t get that this industry is all connected if it’s for profit it’s a business and the only way they can continue is if parents are deceived over and over again
And teens and pre teens like me are used to make them rich
I wish my parents knew I am hurting
But this isn’t the way
And I’m hurting because they sent me to 5 different residentials that did the same thing over and over again
They took my voice
They took my freedom
They took my family
Their about to do it again
But I won’t follow their rules
I won’t let them do what they’ve done to me

Basically drank like any 20-something in my 20s. Because of my work and social life I was constantly at open bars, airport lounges, parties… alcohol was nearly always available and mostly always free. I became a connoisseur. I could make phenomenal cocktails for friends, I learned too much about wine.
It was relatively fine for years. In 2019 I restarted my workout / health regiment and limited drinking to 1 day per week. It was honestly easy for me, once I got in the rhythm of it.
Then COVID…
I drank probably 95% of the days in 2020 - 2021… as things got back to normal, my habits never did.
Then I finally had a wake up call after a bachelor party weekend in Vegas… I had a total of 40 drinks across 2 consecutive days. Didn’t throw up once, was essentially in a functioning blackout at some point each night. I realized there’s no way I need to put my body through this ever again…
But alas, I would go back and forth. I’d take 1-3 months at a time off alcohol. It was never really that difficult after the first week or two. Just became my new normal.
Anyway, fast forward to today, and I’m spacing it out again. I don’t know that I can commit to a completely NA life, but it seems like my discipline is strong enough to stick to the decisions I make.
I’m undecided how to proceed. I don’t really have any long term goals, but I do like where I’m at for now.
I’m choosing to drink less in situations where it’d be incredibly normal to. When offered a drink at a festival, I declined. I still have a wine collection at home I see every day, but haven’t touched a bottle in over a month. My sleep is better, I’ve lost weight, my anxiety is easier to manage…
I don’t know… I want to believe it’s possible to practice a new normal where moderation is center. And where alcohol doesn’t play the role it used to for me.
I feel like when seeking out community for support though, it’s mostly people looking to stop altogether. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for it. I’m behind you 100% if that’s the decision you know you need to make.
But I’d love to hear from people who have successfully reduced their consumption and have gotten to a place of balance / moderation.

need help from people that actually know what they're doing, I have been investigating about PCs all day and this is the build I came up with, its probably not even good so please tell me what can I improve/change. The PC is for gaming on a 1080p monitor, nothing fancy, just a PC that works for most games even if on low settings (excluding modern AAA games because I don't want to lose all my money). My biggest worry is the CPU fan and the power supply, but if you guys see any improvments I can make on other things please tell.

Will my save data be erased I’ve heard that it will but that it also won’t I just want 100% Clarification before I loose everything if that’s the case

So I just got my P’s and I’m already a pretty confident driver but also cautious. Anyway I’m 18 and my step brother is 28 and for a bit of background my step brother had been trying to get his licence for 10 years. He had been on his learners and he never drove. Untill I got my Learners and my stepdad started taking me on drives. But I guess my step brother got jealous because suddenly he wanted to get his license. So my stepdad gave us 2 driving lessons each a week. Now I was keen on mine and went whenever I could. However my step brother kept making excuses as to not do his lessons. Now before this he had gotten 100 hours which is what you need, but the thing is it took him 8 years and he went for his driving test but failed for speeding and his excuse was “I was looking at the road” which is fine, but he wasn’t paying attention to anything else, not the lights, signs or other cars. Literally he was looking at the black tar and that’s it.
So yea, he has had plenty of opportunities to get his license and he’s just procrastinated for so long.
Anyway this happened a few days ago, about a week after I passed my drivers test and I was gonna go and buy some ice cream, because I can. And my stepbrother comes up to me and asks “can you drop me off at my interview?” And i straight up said “no”
He then got annoyed and said “but why? I’m your step brother.” And I replied with “and? You should have gotten your license ages ago. Take a bus or something and not running around after you because you refused to get your license”
He replied “but I need to get to this interview it’s in 10 minutes” and I replied “well you should have left earlier, I’m not wasting my time on someone who is old enough to look after themselves, now grow up and find another way to your job interview” I then hopped in my car, locked it and drive off
Now I know that a bit mean, but he’s nearly 30 and he’s expecting an 18 year old to run after him because he was to lazy to get his license

TLDR: the post title. Is it reasonable to request some refund?
My husband and I booked a 16-night AirBNB rental to have a getaway with our pets, where I could work remotely, during a two-week reserve training in a rural area. There was no availability for him at the usual approved hotels and this expense was not reimbursable by the military, which we knew ahead of time. Two days after booking, my husband requested and paid for a 6 pm late checkout on our last day instead of the standard 11 am.
On checkout day, we received a text at 9 am from the host (a property management company) stating we had to leave by 11 am. My husband explained we paid for late checkout and that I was at the property with two pets and no vehicle. The host sent a screenshot of a failed Twilio (Messaging service) message attempted by the property manager from 10 days prior, stating late checkout was not possible, but we never received it. The screenshot clearly shows the message was not sent successfully. My husband asked for alternative solutions, explaining he was unable to leave his training before 3, but the host just repeated that we needed to leave by 11 am.
The host offered a cab number, which wasn’t feasible due to our pets and luggage, and ignored my husband’s suggestion of rental car reimbursement. They offered a $100 refund and insisted on taking communication to AirBNB's messaging (fair) so my husband sent screenshots of the text thread via AirBNB. He then received a phone call (outside the official channel) in which they stated they were coming to the property with the police. There was no other solutions offered or discussion of middle ground. I had a panic attack. My husband ended up having to request early dismissal, missing four hours of training and frankly making him look like shit. No one came to the property before we left and we later received an AirBNB message asking us to leave "at our earliest convenience", by which time my husband was arriving back at the house.
We're typically pretty laid back people. However, this was preceded by three separate instances where lack of planning or communication rendered parts of the property unusable for some time. The hot tub was serviced during the second week and was unusable for the last 4 days of our stay. Pest control showed up unannounced, so our dog could not go outside. We were without running water for a full day due to scheduled maintenance. Each of these could have been avoided or alleviated with some communication from the property manager. With more notice, we would have been flexible and made alternative plans to ensure departure before 11 am.
Are we unreasonable for wanting a partial refund? I believe the failed message and lack of follow-up are their responsibility.

MSRP for the Light Long Range is $61,100 (edit: reading this may slightly vary?). It included $230 in useless add-ons, so total "starting price" of $61,330.
After negotiations, final price we agreed on was $49,900, for a total discount of $11,430.

• This is not out-the door, this is before sales taxes/registration, etc.
• No other B.S. fees from the dealer for the final out-the-door.
• $11,200 discount, if you didn't give value to the $230 of forced add-ons.
• This included the $7,500 discount, the $1,500 VIN-specific discount that was applied to the car on Friday, and then some miscellaneous discounts they dealer pressed on (I definitely wasn't eligible for any other nationwide discounts Kia was running, like loyalty, etc).

Let me know what deals you celebrated! I was just so excited to get this car below $50k, while I saw so many posts of people recently paying over MSRP in certain regions.
Other notes:

• This is in Central Texas :D
• I ended up paying cash for the car, but during negotiation, told them I'd consider financing if there was a good deal. Just because some dealers offer better prices for financing kickbacks they receive.
• I did a trade-in, but I'm removing that value from this transaction because they gave me exactly what my car was worth PRIVATE SALE, so I'm ignoring it in the math because they likely didn't make squat of margin off of it.

So I just walked out of a test worth 10% of my grade, I studied really hard and was confident that I was gonna do well. I was aiming for 100% and it seemed very realistic . On all the practise tests I scored nearly perfect marks and would finish the test in under 30 minutes in test conditions (it’s a 45 minute test).
However, I just did the test and messed it up. It was an easy test and everything was something that I had already seen and practised before. I was looking at the questions and my head drew a blank for about half my time (even though I’ve practised and studied all of these questions before). I just couldn’t get the answers out for some reason.
Half way through the test, the answers all came to me so I rushed to try get as much done as I could but still left 2 big questions completely blank and parts of the other questions blank because I ran out of time. The test was online in a computer lab so I didn’t even get a chance to explain how I was gonna solve the question (formulas etc).
I just feel really stupid right now. I’m guessing the most I can get on this test is 50%. This was a subject that I pride myself in, and I don’t know what to do. I doubt my professor will let me resit the supplementary test. 10% is just 10% but I can’t repeat this same mistake for the final exam worth 60% of my grade.
I know people might say “just study harder” but I don’t think that’s the way to solve this issue because if you ask me about anything on the test right now I can answer it perfectly. I don’t know if it’s the nerves because I was very confident right up until the test started.
Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, does anyone have any tips on how to deal with this? Exams are right around the corner and I need to make sure this won’t happen again or I seriously might fail. 🥲
