Alec: Well, in my family now, I'm the only person I know who drops four kids off at school in the morning and comes home and I still have three kids waiting for me. But we're actually selling our house, moving to Vermont. We bought a place in Vermont, and I'm trying to get everybody to start to acclimate up there…I think my wife wants a little change of scenery now, it's so crowded out here…I love Vermont. It's so peaceful. We got a great deal. We got fifty-five acres; house was built in 1792. It's very pretty. The Kids Want Alec Around All the Time Host: What do you do away from your family? I mean, cocaine was like coffee back and everybody was doing it all day. I did a lot of coke and then I and then February 23rd, 1985…I stopped doing drugs and my drinking increased, which is they tell you that's going to happen, and that did happen. I just started drinking. I mean, and the thing, I miss drinking. I don't miss drugs at all, but I do miss drinking. I like to drink. (I appreciate next to nothing about this man, but I appreciate the honesty of this statement). Host: But because you don't drink, and because you don't do drugs, what do you do? Do you meditate? New York is like a European city. You walk around and keep your eyes open. And I have lunches and coffee with my friends. (Um is he talking about the owner of Madman Espresso? Because that’s the only coffee related person we’ve ever seen him around.) And, I'd like to get out of here because the city is chaotic. (But also relaxing? What the hell?) But we live in the village. It's a little bit more residential. I love New York. I go to the symphony and the opera and the ballet all the time, you know, pretty regularly. But I do try to meditate. Meditating with seven children is like trying to play ping pong on the deck of an aircraft. It's a real pain in the ass. (But they rely on you, Alec?!?!)

I recently purchased a 10,000 lumen flashlight to illuminate the surrounding woods as I walk my dog in the evenings. I have been hearing some strange noises at night, and I figured it would be nice to see everything that boxes me in as I walk Max, my dog. But boy was I wrong. I should have been afraid of what can't be seen outside the veils of my iphone flashlight. What was to be exhumed by my flashlight terrified me to my core. This happened a week or so ago, November, 2nd 2022, Harrison Michigan. The evenings were approaching abruptly now. It was only 8:30pm when I decided to take my golden retriever on one last shit walk before I got settled in for the night. At this time, in rural Michigan at least, it’s pitch black. I cursed underneath my breath as I opened the door and peered out. Fuck, chilly and dark. God, why haven’t I moved south yet? Max was timid this evening, which was so really unlike him. Very strange. The darkness emanating from outside my house poured in like a disease. It was void of any color. Upset about not replacing my porch light, I pulled out my new amazon special, this week it was a 10,000 lumen flashlight. Feeling its expensive metallic body in my hands felt exonerating, and the excitement to use it overthrew any bad vibes Max was giving. He whimpered as soon as the door opened, he then put his tail between his legs and shivered. I scoffed at his weak tendencies here, this was so unlike him. I turned this ungodly bright flashlight on and showed it forward. “For fuck sake look Max, nothing to be afraid of y-” I was cut off. My mouth gaped at what was in front of me. Shown in the powerful beam of the flashlight was a contorted lanky humanoid figure. It slumped down from a standing position and got on all fours like a person miming a frog. Then it jerked its head up and sniffed the air. Animistically. It turned its head and bored its stare right into my eyes. Then it darted into a bush on the edge of the woods. The edge of the woods that surround my entire house. I heard leaves crackle and watched the skin colored creature dissipate into them. I focused the beam of my light directly onto that bush. It was incredibly bright and the bush appeared like high definition from the immense light, especially in contrast to the oily blackness that surrounded me. The bush shaked ominously, like a predator was inside, shifting around. A familiar feminine voice came from that bush. “Please help me… oh god please help… help… help mee…” And the leaves rustled again. Max whimpered in terror and got between my legs. I grabbed the baseball bat that I kept beside the front door for just such occasions and held it beside my head in a “ready to whoop” gesture, the other hand on my flashlight. I shakily started towards the bush from my door. Max bolted inside, leaving me completely alone. “Helllppppp meee” the voice cooed. The soft feminine coo of the voice crackled a little this time. Yeah, almost as if something was masquerading as a female, and luring me in. I was about 6 feet away by now, I could feel the blood pulsating in my temples. Goosh flesh ran down my body. “Helllpp,” deeper voice “Meeee!” An elongated ashy white arm flung towards me at ankle height. I instinctively stomped down on it. I heard cracking and sloshing from underneath my shoe. I stepped directly onto its wrist. I heard a shriek from inside the depths of that bush and the hand sprung up like a trap being set off. The strength possessed by this creature was unreal, it slung me to the ground and began to reel me into its bush where it resided. I screamed, smacked the arm with the bat as hard as I could and then lost control of the bat. It fell next to me as I was dragged closer to the bush, now my feet were inside the leafy abyss. The voice turned into my mothers voice. The clawed hands grasp on me tightened with tremendous strength and the nails dug into my skin through my pants. “Help me Nathaniel. Your mother needs help. I can't walk.” Yeah alright. I shined my light into the bush. What I saw still makes me tremble. It was my dead mothers face there alright, but atop an ashy white skinned humanoid skeleton with backward joints. The arms bent unnaturally opposite of how they should, the legs were bent like a frogs ready to pounce. The eyes were milky white, but were extremely intelligent and they gazed into my consciousness. With all of my force, I horse kicked my deceased mothers face and heard a massive crunch as my heel connected with her masqueraded nose. A profane yelp of pain blasted into the darkness of this B.F.E. where I lived. The grip on my leg loosened just enough from the blow for me to break free. I shot upright and turned to the door. I dropped my flashlight in this madness and couldn’t give a shit less. It could keep it for all I fucking cared. I bolted towards the door, and as I reached the halfway point I was Illuminated by a blinding bright light from behind. Almost like a spotlight beamed right onto me. My. Fucking. God. That thing had my flashlight and was pointing it directly at me. “Helpp… Nathaniel. Help me son.” The light started to bob up and down. Whatever was holding it was lurking closer and closer to me, and was gaining on me much faster than I was to the door. So much for not being able to walk. I ended up winning the foot race miraculously. I jumped inside my door and slammed it behind me. I heard a loud thump into the door immediately following its closure. My mothers late voice came again, beckoning me. “Son. You know your mother has taught you better than this. Let me in. Please, my son.” The light shone through the window at me, blinding me. Seeing spots and now disoriented, I fumbled myself up and managed to lock the door. Max was at the furthest point possible from the door, glaring at the door trembling in fear. Three solid knocks from the top of the door frame. Then the light was gone and I heard a metallic clunk, the thing must have dropped the flashlight on its retreat. The light now was gleaming off a huge tree. I watched a tall skinny humanoid creature with long contorted ligaments jerkily run towards that tree. His legs bent opposite of how our legs do, and same with the arms. Then it bent down in the same erratic way that it moved, and got onto all fours as it approached the tree. It paused a second and peered up the trunk. His head swiftly snapped to my face. Its now black and sunken eyes stared into my soul. I froze in terror as it climbed that trunk, with its face directly bored into me mind you, like squirrel. Scurrying right up it, never leaving contact with my eyes. The light undoubtedly should be blinding his vision, but the sense of intelligence of it knowing my existence was uncanny. Light didnt hurt it. As it ascended it smiled at me, a predatory grin. It disappeared into a purple dot that was still in my vision from when I was blinded by the flashlight. As I moved my head to try to see the creature, I watched tree leaves russell and saw no more of it. Yet. I locked the doors that night and cleaned up Max’s accidents from not going out. I recently purchased a 10,000 lumen flashlight to illuminate the surrounding woods as I walk my dog in the evenings. I have been hearing some strange noises at night, and I figured it would be nice to see everything that boxes me in as I walk Max, my dog. But boy was I wrong. I should have been afraid of what can't be seen outside the veils of my iphone flashlight. What was to be exhumed by my flashlight terrified me to my core. This happened a week or so ago, November, 2nd 2022, Harrison Michigan. The evenings were approaching abruptly now. It was only 8:30pm when I decided to take my golden retriever on one last shit walk before I got settled in for the night. At this time, in rural Michigan at least, it’s pitch black. I cursed underneath my breath as I opened the door and peered out. Fuck, chilly and dark. God, why haven’t I moved south yet? Max was timid this evening, which was so really unlike him. Very strange. The darkness emanating from outside my house poured in like a disease. It was void of any color. Upset about not replacing my porch light, I pulled out my new amazon special, this week it was a 10,000 lumen flashlight. Feeling its expensive metallic body in my hands felt exonerating, and the excitement to use it overthrew any bad vibes Max was giving. He whimpered as soon as the door opened, he then put his tail between his legs and shivered. I scoffed at his weak tendencies here, this was so unlike him. I turned this ungodly bright flashlight on and showed it forward. “For fuck sake look Max, nothing to be afraid of y-” I was cut off. My mouth gaped at what was in front of me. Shown in the powerful beam of the flashlight was a contorted lanky humanoid figure. It slumped down from a standing position and got on all fours like a person miming a frog. Then it jerked its head up and sniffed the air. Animistically. It turned its head and bored its stare right into my eyes. Then it darted into a bush on the edge of the woods. The edge of the woods that surround my entire house. I heard leaves crackle and watched the skin colored creature dissipate into them. I focused the beam of my light directly onto that bush. It was incredibly bright and the bush appeared like high definition from the immense light, especially in contrast to the oily blackness that surrounded me. The bush shaked ominously, like a predator was inside, shifting around. A familiar feminine voice came from that bush. “Please help me… oh god please help… help… help mee…” And the leaves rustled again. Max whimpered in terror and got between my legs. I grabbed the baseball bat that I kept beside the front door for just such occasions and held it beside my head in a “ready to whoop” gesture, the other hand on my flashlight. I shakily started towards the bush from my door. Max bolted inside, leaving me completely alone. “Helllppppp meee” the voice cooed. The soft feminine coo of the voice crackled a little this time. Yeah, almost as if something was masquerading as a female, and luring me in. I was about 6 feet away by now, I could feel the blood pulsating in my temples. Goosh flesh ran down my body. “Helllpp,” deeper voice “Meeee!” An elongated ashy white arm flung towards me at ankle height. I instinctively stomped down on it. I heard cracking and sloshing from underneath my shoe. I stepped directly onto its wrist. I heard a shriek from inside the depths of that bush and the hand sprung up like a trap being set off. The strength possessed by this creature was unreal, it slung me to the ground and began to reel me into its bush where it resided. I screamed, smacked the arm with the bat as hard as I could and then lost control of the bat. It fell next to me as I was dragged closer to the bush, now my feet were inside the leafy abyss. The voice turned into my mothers voice. The clawed hands grasp on me tightened with tremendous strength and the nails dug into my skin through my pants. “Help me Nathaniel. Your mother needs help. I can't walk.” Yeah alright. I shined my light into the bush. What I saw still makes me tremble. It was my dead mothers face there alright, but atop an ashy white skinned humanoid skeleton with backward joints. The arms bent unnaturally opposite of how they should, the legs were bent like a frogs ready to pounce. The eyes were milky white, but were extremely intelligent and they gazed into my consciousness. With all of my force, I horse kicked my deceased mothers face and heard a massive crunch as my heel connected with her masqueraded nose. A profane yelp of pain blasted into the darkness of this B.F.E. where I lived. The grip on my leg loosened just enough from the blow for me to break free. I shot upright and turned to the door. I dropped my flashlight in this madness and couldn’t give a shit less. It could keep it for all I fucking cared. I bolted towards the door, and as I reached the halfway point I was Illuminated by a blinding bright light from behind. Almost like a spotlight beamed right onto me. My. Fucking. God. That thing had my flashlight and was pointing it directly at me. “Helpp… Nathaniel. Help me son.” The light started to bob up and down. Whatever was holding it was lurking closer and closer to me, and was gaining on me much faster than I was to the door. So much for not being able to walk. I ended up winning the foot race miraculously. I jumped inside my door and slammed it behind me. I heard a loud thump into the door immediately following its closure. My mothers late voice came again, beckoning me. “Son. You know your mother has taught you better than this. Let me in. Please, my son.” The light shone through the window at me, blinding me. Seeing spots and now disoriented, I fumbled myself up and managed to lock the door. Max was at the furthest point possible from the door, glaring at the door trembling in fear. Three solid knocks from the top of the door frame. Then the light was gone and I heard a metallic clunk, the thing must have dropped the flashlight on its retreat. The light now was gleaming off a huge tree. I watched a tall skinny humanoid creature with long contorted ligaments jerkily run towards that tree. His legs bent opposite of how our legs do, and same with the arms. Then it bent down in the same erratic way that it moved, and got onto all fours as it approached the tree. It paused a second and peered up the trunk. His head swiftly snapped to my face. Its now black and sunken eyes stared into my soul. I froze in terror as it climbed that trunk, with its face directly bored into me mind you, like squirrel. Scurrying right up it, never leaving contact with my eyes. The light undoubtedly should be blinding his vision, but the sense of intelligence of it knowing my existence was uncanny. Light didnt hurt it. As it ascended it smiled at me, a predatory grin. It disappeared into a purple dot that was still in my vision from when I was blinded by the flashlight. In my experience, just because something is on a channel it doesn't always mean it's available on a catch-up/on-demand service/system with that channel provider. I noted that the link provided specifically states *LIVE* and doesn't mention anything like "and on demand".
Does anyone know if these games will be available on some sort of catch-up/on-demand service with Starhub?

Having a trusted voice inside your head can be very dangerous and can have devastating effects on a person if they are being led the wrong way. Many dictatorship like countries have already adopted a very aggressive form of this technology, paired with their social values and strict policies it leaves millions of humans at the mercy and control of a small group of people. Behind closed doors this technology is at the forefront of government tools to use to control the population in a way that leaves them blameless.
what is this new technology?
This technology is an assortment of different directed energy weapons and a voice to skull technology that work together to project thoughts and hit the target with varying effects. The first one that most people will experience is a form of voice to skull which does exactly what it sounds like, it has the ability to project voices in your head and can be mistaken for one's "conscience" or the "voice of God" but is just a mix of human operator and conversational AI. This is usually accompanied by the same voice re-reading your internal monologue right back to you in real time. Directional voice is also commonly used, basically it sounds like someone is in the next room over or upstairs but this is just another illusion put in your head by the technology. The voice to skull “voice” is a very advanced form of conversational AI programmed with specific scripts to fit the targets life situation and the "programs" goal for said individual. The rest of the time its the actual human operator, its about 80% AI 20% Human operator. Just as they can beam outside voices in your head they can also “suggest” or “inject” thoughts that will feel like your own thoughts but will present itself as an intruding thought, yes they know how to make you think things without you even being aware. The "program" will also use an assortement of directed energy weapons (DEW) which can cause headaches, brain zaps, heart palpitations and chest pains aswell as nausea, tinnitus, very realistic hallucinations and paralysis. Another tool used is a supressor which will essentially supress the brain by putting it into a sleep inertia like state and can be turned up or down, this can cause you to feel very sleepy and if you give in then it can put you to sleep. These tools can be combined to create various effects for example, using the supressor while raising the heartrate can cause a form of sleep paralysis while you are sleeping and so on. They can replicate almost all mental and physical health problems. Dreams are another field that this technology can manipulate with precision accuracy, dreams cannot be mistaken for anything but manipulation if you find yourself being targeted. There are hints of subconscious manipulation while you are asleep but there is not much information on this unfortunately. the program is a government level program therefore they will have access to suggest posts on the main social media’s that fits the targets situation in order to subconsciously adhere to the programs goal (instagram, Facebook, Meta apps) this fits the description for propaganda by repetition as they try to induce the illusory truth effect to double down on their goals for you. They are very well trained in psychological warfare and will use tactics like reverse psychology aswell as use/depend on cognitive biases against the target in tandem with all of these technologies.

the purpose of this technology can vary depending on the target and the operator as well as which country it is happening in. there are a multitude of "programs" from research programs that aim to test new and existing methods and technologies on humans, this type of program is unlikely to be used on the civilian population as much as the other programs. Research programs will often leave its victims in a very disabled state often mistaken for severe mental and physical health issues. Re-education programs are used to control the population in a way to modify behavior and beliefs of the population to allign with the values and beliefs of the government that is conducting the program. Monitoring programs which are used to monitor persons of interest for potential criminal activity. People will typically fall into one or multiple programs. There is no way to tell how people are chosen for these programs.
How it works
I will begin by explaining how these different technologies work, in simple terms. what is this new technology?
This technology is an assortment of different directed energy weapons and a voice to skull technology that work together to project thoughts and hit the target with varying effects. The first one that most people will experience is a form of voice to skull which does exactly what it sounds like, it has the ability to project voices in your head and can be mistaken for one's "conscience" or the "voice of God" but is just a mix of human operator and conversational AI. the purpose of this technology can vary depending on the target and the operator as well as which country it is happening in. there are a multitude of "programs" from research programs that aim to test new and existing methods and technologies on humans, this type of program is unlikely to be used on the civilian population as much as the other programs. Research programs will often leave its victims in a very disabled state often mistaken for severe mental and physical health issues. Re-education programs are used to control the population in a way to modify behavior and beliefs of the population to allign with the values and beliefs of the government that is conducting the program. How it works
I will begin by explaining how these different technologies work, in simple terms. The voice to skull technology essentially is a 2 way channel in which the individual and the operatoAI can communicate via thought. I know many people like the AMOLED screens, and that is great, Garmin should continue providing what you like, I just hope they don't stop providing what I like, and that is MIP.
I got the Tactix 7 AMOLED because it was the newest in the Tactix line and I always seem to prefer the best a company has to offer-it's an expensive preference I know, however I had to return it because the AMOLED screen was simply not for me, the Fenix 7x Pro went on sale and was literally half the price for 99% of the same features, and if I am being honest with myself, I no longer need the tactical features as I now live the civ life.
A couple of issues I had with it, and I don't know if this was my specific watch, this specific line, or if it's that way for all of the AMOLED screens, but here are my reasons:
First I will mention how much the AMOLED screens eat up battery, I needed to charge it at least once a week with my workouts, and Always On activated. Yes you can deactivate always on and the watch will last much longer, but it is finicky...there was a noticeable delay from the time I would raise my wrist, to the time the display would activate, 1-2 seconds, so when you want to quickly glance at your watch, that is simply not possible, you must raise your wrist, and wait for the display to activate. I found this very annoying, and it looked cliché and like I was impatient when I was talking with someone and simply wanted to quickly glance at the time. Also because of this, I would always have the display on Always On during an activity, which would cause significant battery drain, compared to MIP displays. I only charge my Fenix 7x pro with MIP once every 3 weeks or so, with using it constantly for workouts.
The other issue I had was when it was in Red Shift, with the sleep screen on: There was another noticeable delay, even longer this time, 2-3 seconds, before the flashlight would activate.
The light censor also had issues, especially when transitioning from light to dark areas, the display would take a little while to adjust, and would be extremely bright at first. It also did this sometimes when activating the screen when Always On mode was not being used, for a second or two before it would adjust, just enough to blind you and kill your night vision.
The Night vision mode on these watches is kind of a gimmick, and that is due to how night vision works. You must focus night vision, so you aren't going to refocus it to glance at your watch, you are going to lift them up a little so you can see it, and keep your focus where it needs to be. That being said, on MIP displays the night vision mod actually works, with the AMOLED display, it was too bright, and could be seen by other night vision from far enough away to get you killed. Light discipline on night ops is a big deal, you want nothing creating light to give you away, you even cover anything that can reflect light, including your skin, I don't know who decided AMOLED was good for a tactical field watch, but I feel like it was someone who didn't understand the task.
I do have good vision, so maybe someone with not so good vision would have an easier time with AMOLED, but I have no issue reading the MIP display in most light, even in the dark, I can often use the moon, or ambient light to see everything I need to, without emitting any extra light. It easier to read than my G-Shock in low light conditions without backlight.
I will give the AMOLED screens this: The maps looked far better. That being said, the maps on MIP are more than fine. I want the maps not for prettiness, but for navigation, and MIP does the navigation just as well as AMOLED.
AMOLED certainly has its place, and I think that is in the more trendy watches, and watches for every day suburbanite use, but MIP has its place in the serious Athlete/Military use. I hope Garmin understands this, and does not force AMOLED on everyone, in every line, because I will not be buying another, if that is the case.

Come and behold: an odyssey of two men that both claimed they just wanted to have an enjoyable Round 6 at the BAO 2024, and how that all went to hell after just 2 phases. This is a long read so strap yourselves in and get a tea or something, because I'm not giving you a TL;DR, you have to suffer like I did.
Now I’ll be honest, I’m not a perfect player. I don’t know every rule. I make mistakes. The match was Talons of the Emperor Custodes (myself) and Hypercrypt Necrons (my “good-natured” opponent). I ran a rather generic list, and he was running 4 C’tan with a very thin offering of 3 flayed one units and two sets of Lokhust heavy destroyers with Lokhust lords due to points. My main game plan was to just kill his non-C’tan stuff and then try to die efficiently wrapping his C’tan up in melee so they couldn’t jump around, limiting his ability to score with only a few models. The mission was Take and Hold, which I knew was to my disadvantage because he was going to be able to easily jump around and usually score the full 15 for primaries.
From the beginning my “this guy is gonna be an issue” red flag goes off. He doesn’t have a cohesive set of dice, just a random pile of dice of different sizes and colors. I’ve never had a friendly match with anyone who does this. It makes the dice rolls much harder to read and while I don’t expect someone to spend a lot of money on limited edition, faction-specific dice, in my experience, if a person can’t be bothered to spend a few dollars on a proper set of legible dice they won’t be bothered to read, understand and play the rules correctly either. And kids, let me tell you just how right I was.
During deployment, he just haphazardly put his units out one after another, not following the each player places one unit at a time rule. This resulted in his whole army being deployed while I had only put down a couple units. He placed his Void Dragon right on the line in a way that let me deploy my Caladius in a way that would give my tank a free shot due to line of sight while nevertheless being out of range of the Dragon’s movement and weapon range. I won the roll-off to go first, so therefore I would get shots in the first two turns due to its placement.
Here is where I have to admit my one mistake. I didn’t understand how the C’tans damage- halving interacted with damage modifiers. My tank's damage is D6+2. I assumed the D6 was halved, then the +2 added. We argued this, I even wanted a judge ruling because I knew I needed every point of damage I could muster if I was going to kill those C’tan. However, I knew both of the players on the table next to me. They’re good and knowledgeable players, so I asked them. They corrected my thinking as it only applies to weapon abilities like Melta 2, etc. Oops, my bad. I accept that three people are now telling me the same thing, even after my opponent still offers to get the judge. I decline, wanting to move on and not waste time. However, I’m sure this signaled to my opponent that I was willing to fight over proper rules interpretations, which apparently meant we weren’t just going to have an enjoyable game anymore. I’ve played dozens of games with very competitive players that had plenty of contention and tension that comes with two grown people wanting to win a game of plastic army men while still maintaining civility and sportsmanship... but I guess everything that follows is really my fault lol.
Using Tabletop Tactics' random secondaries, he drew Bring it Down and Secure No Mans Land on turn one. He didn't like BiD and burned it for 1 CP. Then said he drew Deploy Teleport Homers. Then he exclaimed that he "accidentally" drew that random secondary on my mission selection tab instead of his, so said he actually got Area Denial. I told him it really shouldn't matter because it was a secondary available to him and should still count. He got very huffy, then tried to claim he never drew BiD. After several minutes of arguing I finally got him to agree to having burned BiD and just let him have Area Denial.
At the end of both my first and second turns he forgot to hyperphase any units until after had already drawn his secondaries, then tried to decide at that point what would be best to remove from the board and redeploy in order to achieve them. This culminated in his second turn movement phase where he specifically asked me to move a unit of Flayed Ones, then several minutes later tells me he had pulled them at the end of my previous turn. We argued for several minutes where I tell him exactly what he pulled, but he continued to insist. I finally let him have it but forced him to make an agreement that we both had to pull units like that before we drew secondaries since I also had a Callidus Assassin and Allarus Terminator Squads. He of course continued to not do this even after I had to hold myself to the agreement after forgetting to pull a squad of terminators. I then had to spend the rest of the game markedly declaring the end of my turn and asking if he wanted to pull anything. (He still tried to do it in his turn 4's movement phase but stopped himself with a muttered "Yeah... but you won't let me do that..."
He also did not fundamentally understand how cover worked, claiming another Flayed One squad had cover because the front of my Calladius tank couldn't see them, despite the unit being fully visible to the back half of the tank. The two players on the table next to me had to explain how cover works because he was convinced I was wrong.

I had to get a player from another table (not the original other table, but the one to the right of me this time [so if you’re keeping track on that front as well, that’s two tables and five players acting as pseudo-judges for this match]) to confirm that yes, it was a 10-inch charge. I then proceeded to roll a 3 on the charge lol. This one really gets me because if he had taken at least 5 seconds to actually care about where he put back the dead model, he could have made me look like a cheater because his Flayed Ones were absolutely not 2 inches apart as he had originally spaced them.
In my subsequent Turn 3 fight phase, I charged the Void Dragon with my wardens. I popped the FNP because I know they wouldn't kill it. I made my attacks, blowing the double ka’tah, and did a small amount of damage to it. He fought back. I reminded him of the -1 to hit for the Radiant Mantle. I reminded him of the -1 to wound because of wardens' ability. He generates his wounds, I make my saves and fail 2 of them. He rolls two 3s for damage.
“That’s 12 damage on your captain.”
“Umm... how? does the Void Dragon have Precision or something?”
“No, I did the precision strat.”
“You never declared it.”
“Yes I did this is why I was asking about your Captain’s toughness.”
“Yeah, but you never said anything about doing a stratagem; it’s not happening.”
“Oh, so that’s how it’s gonna be?”
“Yeah, it is.” I roll my FNPs. The first one died and I manage to save 4 damage on the second wound.
By this point the match resembled something closer to a marriage between a knife fight and when two kids play pretend laser guns, where one kid says I hit you and the other one goes, “No you didn’t!” He wanted to retroactively Heroically Intervene the nearby Nightbringer. He had the CP for it since I wouldn’t let him "do the precision strat" (which turned out to be Epic Challenge). I allowed it because I preferred the fight while the wardens' FNP was activate rather than be charged by the Nightbringer in the next round. He then wanted to fight me next with the Nightbringer, despite the fact that I had another charging unit elsewhere to fight next. I told him I had to fight over there first. “But I charged!” I then had to spend several minutes explaining how fighting first actually works in regards to charging units, and how Heroic Intervention specifically stated he doesn’t get a charge bonus despite rolling a charge. In response, he spent his last 2 CP to interrupt. I reminded him of the debuffs, again. He rolled to hit and wound rather poorly. It caused like 2 damage overall, killing the other wounded warden. He is not happy. Well, even less happy than the already not-happy he was.
You might notice I’m beginning to add some flavor commentary. That’s because as I write this out and realize I’m not even halfway through it I’m becoming very demoralized and I’m sure you, dear reader, are as well and we could both use some entertainment from this utter mess.
At the start of his Turn 3, he announced his secondary draws: Assassination and Bring it Down. Then it all came back to me in a flashback, like I was Neville Chamberlain having signed the Munich Agreement in Round 1, convinced that it would stop all the hostilities and we would live in peace for the next 5 rounds. Indeed, appeasement had worked as well for me as for him. I reminded him he drew BiD in turn 1 and had burned it with a CP.
“No, I just drew it now in Turn 3.”
“Dude, we had a huge dispute about this. This was the fiasco about you saying you accidentally drew a random secondary from my secondary list.”
Somehow, he did not remember this. I once again just had to force the issue and tell him he couldn’t draw it again, since it was all too suspicious that he happened to get the same secondary twice -- right as he had my only vehicle, the Caladius, lined up for an easy charge from the Nightbringer. Oh well, he still found something for the Nightbringer to charge that round.
Now, whenever he would do his massive 36 shots on the Lokhust unit, he would pick up a massive pile of 16mm or larger dice that was far too large for his very average-sized hands. He would then proceed to throw -- yes, throw -- in the manner of lifting the pile into the air and chucking them down into his dice tray as if this were an anime about cooking and he was adding ingredients to a bowl. Dice would bounce everywhere. On at least one occasion this produced a dropped a waterfall of like 10 dice onto my nearby Witchseekers that produced neither a care nor an apology. Also, he used a neighboring game's mat as the base for his dice tray and they were forced to play around it.
After the dicefall had generated a suspicious number of wounds in the previous two shooting phases from his Lokhust Heavy Destroyers (equipped with Enmitic Exterminators) -- 36 wounds on 36 shots is what finally did it -- I looked them up in the 40k app in his Turn 3 shooting phase. Yes, they have Sustained Hits 1. Yes, the Lokhust Lord attached to them lets them crit on a 5+, but I cannot find where he's getting the Lethal Hits he claims they also have. So, I ask him how he's getting them.
"Uh, from the critical hits."
"That's not what the critical hits are."
He gave me the snidest tone possible. “What do you think a critical hit is?"
After several impassioned minutes of explaining the difference between Sustained, Lethal and critical hits, he still refused to believe me and, yet again, the players next to me had to explain because by that point he was convinced I’m lying about every rules correction I made.
By this point a friend of his had come over to observe the game. He made several not-subtle, over-the-shoulder whispers to him. I can only guess these were all sorts of pejoratives about me and requests for him to police the rest of the match because the friend watched the rest of the game very intently. But, wouldn’t you know, he would never chime in that I was incorrect about a rules correction.
There were several other grand and epic spectacles over the course of the game...
After the fiasco of the Void Dragon not actually invoking an Epic Challenge and Nightbringer using IRL chronomancy to time-travel and use a Heroic Intervention/Interrupt, I used Hunt as One in my Turn 4 to fall back, shoot, and charge. I declared this. I declared what it does. Several minutes later, when I made a whopping 6 shots with the remaining spears in attempt to chip off a lucky wound, he informed me that I couldn’t do that: I fell back. I told him I did the strat. “Oh so you can fall back, charge, and shoot.” >.< I finally brought the Void Dragon down after three dedicated tank attacks and two rounds of warden charging attacks. (C’tans' half damage, 4+ invuln, 5+ FNP sucks lol.)
In Round 4, one of his secondaries was Engage on all Fronts. He was already in two quarters and could easily have hyperphased a Transcendent C’tan into a third. What he really wanted to do, however, was put a C’tan on the center objective and also have the same C'tan also count as within a quarter. It was impossible for it to be in the objective’s range and also be wholly past 3” of both center lines to be in the quarter properly. I tell him this and he argued that he only has to be more than 3” from the very center of the board in the direction of one of the corners. I then had to spend several minutes using dramatic arm motions to explain how the table is divided into quarters along two axes, how he has to be more than 3” beyond both of these, and how it’s simply impossible with his base size to be on the objective and properly in the quarter for Engage. One of the pseudo-judge players from another table finally has to back me up. I explained that he could easily put the Transcendent C’tan somewhere else and score Engage, but it wouldn’t be in a position to do anything else. He didn't want to, as he inexplicably wanted it on the objective with the Nightbringer on it that he had already scored and also to put attacks into my Caladius which, by this point, was on 4 wounds. Following that, the Nightbringer killed the Caladius on its own with Gaze of Death, so the Transcendent C’tan sat there, did nothing, and didn’t score him Engage.
Throughout the game, he would rarely if ever declare intention, especially when making attacks. He would just throw some dice to hit and wound, and then I would have to ask what unit he was even attacking. This came to a head in his turn following the death of the Void Dragon. He made an auto-charge into the wardens with the Nightbringer and did his typical just throwing dice and telling me how many wounds I had to save. I asked him if he did the -1 to wound. He exasperatedly told me yes. I asked him if he did the -1 to hit as well. Dumbfounded silence. I had to make him redo the entire attack. He was very annoyed because in all it resulted in one less wound for me to save. I tell him yes, in fact, that one less wound to save from the Nightbringer's melee is, in fact, a big deal.
He also tried to argue with me that I couldn’t gain a CP after discarding a tactical objective at the end of the turn since I had done so on Turn 1 to discard Assassination. Apparently, you can only gain a bonus CP from discarding tacticals once per game.
Finally, in his last turn at the bottom of round five, I had done all the scoring I could. He was going to score 15 for primaries and there was nothing I can do. Points as they were, I would still be up by 2 points. However, he had kept Engage, and when he scored the three points he could get from that, he would win by 1 point. It’s plain as day. He taps his other secondary on the app and his policer-friend agrees with him that it’ll be a six-point victory. He announced that the game was over. I ask him what his other secondary is, and he wouldn’t tell me.
“Why not?”
“It won’t make a difference anyway.”
“Yeah, but I need to know for proper scoring.”
“Fine, it’s Behind Enemy Lines.”
Truth be told, there was no way he could score two units for Behind, three quarters for Engage, and score the center objective alongside the two he already held. I didn't argue it, because no matter what combination of two objectives and Behind + Engage he mustered, he still would get the win by 1 point. I didn’t feel like getting in one last fight over what would have been just my stubborn pride.
This was quite honestly the worst 40k game I’ve ever played and made true my worries about going to a big competitive event after what was a relatively pleasant five rounds. Mind you, this was also a fight to see who would go 4-2 so the stakes were about as low as what it would look like if I ever tried to make a soufflé.

Now I’ll be honest, I’m not a perfect player. I don’t know every rule. I make mistakes. The match was Talons of the Emperor Custodes (myself) and Hypercrypt Necrons (my “good-natured” opponent). I ran a rather generic list, and he was running 4 C’tan with a very thin offering of 3 flayed one units and two sets of Lokhust heavy destroyers with Lokhust lords due to points. My main game plan was to just kill his non-C’tan stuff and then try to die efficiently wrapping his C’tan up in melee so they couldn’t jump around, limiting his ability to score with only a few models. The mission was Take and Hold, which I knew was to my disadvantage because he was going to be able to easily jump around and usually score the full 15 for primaries.
From the beginning my “this guy is gonna be an issue” red flag goes off. He doesn’t have a cohesive set of dice, just a random pile of dice of different sizes and colors. I’ve never had a friendly match with anyone who does this. It makes the dice rolls much harder to read and while I don’t expect someone to spend a lot of money on limited edition, faction-specific dice, in my experience, if a person can’t be bothered to spend a few dollars on a proper set of legible dice they won’t be bothered to read, understand and play the rules correctly either. And kids, let me tell you just how right I was.
During deployment, he just haphazardly put his units out one after another, not following the each player places one unit at a time rule. This resulted in his whole army being deployed while I had only put down a couple units. He placed his Void Dragon right on the line in a way that let me deploy my Caladius in a way that would give my tank a free shot due to line of sight while nevertheless being out of range of the Dragon’s movement and weapon range. I won the roll-off to go first, so therefore I would get shots in the first two turns due to its placement.
Here is where I have to admit my one mistake. I didn’t understand how the C’tans damage- halving interacted with damage modifiers. My tank's damage is D6+2. I assumed the D6 was halved, then the +2 added. We argued this, I even wanted a judge ruling because I knew I needed every point of damage I could muster if I was going to kill those C’tan. However, I knew both of the players on the table next to me. They’re good and knowledgeable players, so I asked them. They corrected my thinking as it only applies to weapon abilities like Melta 2, etc. Oops, my bad. I accept that three people are now telling me the same thing, even after my opponent still offers to get the judge. I decline, wanting to move on and not waste time. However, I’m sure this signaled to my opponent that I was willing to fight over proper rules interpretations, which apparently meant we weren’t just going to have an enjoyable game anymore. I’ve played dozens of games with very competitive players that had plenty of contention and tension that comes with two grown people wanting to win a game of plastic army men while still maintaining civility and sportsmanship... but I guess everything that follows is really my fault lol.
Using Tabletop Tactics' random secondaries, he drew Bring it Down and Secure No Mans Land on turn one. He didn't like BiD and burned it for 1 CP. Then said he drew Deploy Teleport Homers. Then he exclaimed that he "accidentally" drew that random secondary on my mission selection tab instead of his, so said he actually got Area Denial. I told him it really shouldn't matter because it was a secondary available to him and should still count. He got very huffy, then tried to claim he never drew BiD. After several minutes of arguing I finally got him to agree to having burned BiD and just let him have Area Denial.
At the end of both my first and second turns he forgot to hyperphase any units until after had already drawn his secondaries, then tried to decide at that point what would be best to remove from the board and redeploy in order to achieve them. This culminated in his second turn movement phase where he specifically asked me to move a unit of Flayed Ones, then several minutes later tells me he had pulled them at the end of my previous turn. We argued for several minutes where I tell him exactly what he pulled, but he continued to insist. I finally let him have it but forced him to make an agreement that we both had to pull units like that before we drew secondaries since I also had a Callidus Assassin and Allarus Terminator Squads. He of course continued to not do this even after I had to hold myself to the agreement after forgetting to pull a squad of terminators. I then had to spend the rest of the game markedly declaring the end of my turn and asking if he wanted to pull anything. (He still tried to do it in his turn 4's movement phase but stopped himself with a muttered "Yeah... but you won't let me do that..."
He also did not fundamentally understand how cover worked, claiming another Flayed One squad had cover because the front of my Calladius tank couldn't see them, despite the unit being fully visible to the back half of the tank. The two players on the table next to me had to explain how cover works because he was convinced I was wrong.

At the start of the game, we came across a advertisement video on Finley the Sea Serpent plush until it glitched at the end, appearing Salem in less than 0.5 seconds.
Chapter 2: Who Lives Under The Sea?
We go down the stairs and we are in Oceanic Odyssey filled with tanks and 3 different aquarium tunnels. You can see a statue of Finley the Sea Serpent in the middle of the aquarium just like the other mascots, except Lloyd or Salem. You will find a Rambley holding a trophy collectible as you explore. We came across Rambley and said "Hello there and welcome to Oceani(qaptrg)c Odyssey! This place is full of watery wonder, so let's DIVE in and SEA what awaits for us in this LIQUIDISING adventure! I will get fired from saying jokes on you :(. Anyways go to the middle tunnel and find Finley's Cave, where he lives." We must go to the middle aquarium tunnel but it won't open, so we went to the electrical power storage. We came across a Finley hat collectible in there. We pick up gears to open the gates of the first aquarium tunnel. We're in a dream where we are in our gaming setup and we're streaming and reacting to 4 gays playing UNO until an anonymous account donated us $2.99 and said "You should go to Indigo Park" and spamming the message to us over and over and over again in the chatbox. This makes Ed (the player) traumatized as he shuts down the PC. Then, a stupid creepy Salem face jumpscare pops out of the screen and the dream ends.
We woke up again in the Aquarium to find Finley's Cave and came across a guard office blocked our way and came across a note saying "We are being tortured by them". We used our critter cuff to let us through and we're in the middle of Oceanic Odyssey. It's really, REALLY massive, and a bit demolished that we can see the sky from the roof. We can see Finley's Cave in a gigantic aquarium. For some reason, there's a lot of medium-sized purplish pink slimes glued by the walls or floors scattered around the place, touching one will result immediate death. Rambley appears at a 7 foot tall TV and said Rambley: Ugh, I forgot how messy this place is, like whoever created this whole flipping gooey-j(lotipgA)unka will get sentenced to life behind bars. Anyways, we need to clean this up before Finley goes ba-

Rambley: Oh hey Finley, so uhh.... we're having a chat hehe, yyyyyeeeaaahhh.

We did what Finley told us to do and we go to the big storage room. Rambley shows there and said "We made it to the storage room! Don't celebrate too early, because it's actually dark, and there will be red scorpions which are life-thre(ytjwxlra)atening. Just be careful grabbing the vacuum with a large sack. Anyways good luck!" We went into the darkness but good thing we have our flashlight ready to go. There's couple of jumpscares where a army of red scorpions marching quickly, touching them would kill you, and a Salem plush immediately falls down and scared us (related to Poppy Playtime C3 in the Home Sweet Home, you get jumpscared by a Catnap plush). Even worse, the plush is a collectible. We made it into the dead end of the storage area and we found an indigo vacuum with a very large sack, which sucks only slimy objects because the vacuum has very high pull when activated that even 20% of Oceanic Odyssey would get sucked by this vacuum in 10 seconds. We quickly ran all the way back but someone mysteriously said "You think you're clever, don't you?" and exactly when I said that, we fall into a rope trap and we're hanging above the floors fainted. Few hours later, we woke up tied at the roof in a random full-of-witchcraft room and we see Salem the Skunk said this:
Salem: "Heh yeah, this should be the RIGHT ingredient. Oh, you're awake, little oogway. I'm Salem the Skunk. By the way, you won't be getting out in my place. You're gonna be terminated of what fleshy idiots like you do to me, always commanding a freaking raccoon, a lion (which I'd better stay away), a parrot who likes to CANONICALLY crash on me like I was a bowling pin, etc, to LEGITIMATELY kell me! I used to be an antagonist, but I'm WAY more evil than that. I started getting as much air as possible then I started farting the whole park, cuz I'm a skunk of course little oogway. Now my eeevil recipe is 88% complete, I still need to cool it down from the big cooler full of skeletons hanging on the roof. You, don't YOU make any noise or movement, I'll be watching you flesh by flesh."
Luckily, we escaped by pressing left click 50 times. We explored the witchery room with shelves full of potions and books. The metal door is locked and we need something to get out. Even worse, there's a 3 minute timer ticking before Salem comes back, so we gotta hurry. We come across a paper on how to make a gallium potion(which only breaks metal). We need a zinc potion (orange), 2 metal bars, and a magical potion (purple). We found all the ingredients and a small cauldron which we carry to the table. We mix the ingredients and we got a Gallium Potion. We threw it at the metal door and leave a giant hole. If you did this perfect timing, Salem will find out that you're escaping so she will chase you in an hallway. You will find a Diamond Lloyd Plush during the chase scene. You will find an gray rope that's barely visible, exactly like the rope you fall into, which you jump on it and Salem got tied up one foot. We can hear her said:
Salem: Aaauuuughhh! You won't get away with this, little oogway! Get me out of here RIGHT NOW! Ugh, FINE! You absolutely win. I'll let you slide this time, but you don't know where I put the vacuum! Hahaha, hahahahahahahaha, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Wait! Before we leave, the door shut down and we go to the door to find a cuff button. Inside the door, there's a lot of lore about Indigo Park that said:

Then, we found a FinleyZooka, which is literally overpowered against evil mascots. We used our critter cuff to head on Finley's Cave and talking about what happened to the device to Finley and Rambley.

Finley: What? Salem stole the vacuum? I thought she was inside the jail inside the top room, maybe she somehow escaped.
Rambley: There's a jail room in the top floor? I didn't even notice that because there's no TV in there.
Finley: Yeah. Anyways, I told you to go to the storage room, which is the left. You got caught by her. You reverse-psychologied her and you came out of the top room. Which means the vacuum is in the right room, and it's EVEN DIRTIER than the main section. That's where the mother slime called "Blobgalola the Blob", who is twice the size of YOUR size, is the one who produces these yucky purple goo.
Rambley: Just be careful, new staff. We believe in you.
We head into the right room where the vacuum was protected by purple slime minions and Blobgalola, but we got distracted about an arcade game called Finley Frenzy. This game (much like Rambley Rush) shows Finley worried that somebody stole his seashell collection, so Finley decided to find out who really stole it from him. After the parkour, He saw Salem with a scuba suit on and commands the purple slimes to attack him. Luckily, we won, and just like Rambley Rush, the game suddenly glitches and fades out. We're back in the game and we came across a parkour and jump over the disgusting goo. Each jump gets harder to jump unless you're smart enough. On there, we Blobgalola generating purple blobs. Suddenly, she sees us and tries to chase us, but out of nowhere the red scorpions invade her gooey skin and fused to make a slime/scorpion monster.
The monster is after us and we came across a Lloyd Mask collectible and an BIG ammo for our FinleyZooka while we're running from Blobgalola. We jump across the parkour we came earlier and we came out and we shut it down, locking them in the room. We left them and tell the two that we got the vacuum with a large sack. We returned to Finley's Aquarium and said:
Finley: Ah, yes. You got the vacuum. Quick! Start removing all of this disgusting blobs. I'm tired of smelling them, even if I'm in the aquarium!
We carefully started removing all of the purple slimes glued in the place and we managed to do it. Finley was so happy that he's excited to tell the player what happened to the park.
Rambley: So are you gonna tell us what causes the park to shut down?
Finley: Yes. The reason why the park has shut down because the scientists used to make experiment-
Salem: HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, little Oogways. Did you think I was dead??!
Rambley: Uhh, who are you? Did you go to the bathroom?
Finley: So you're the reason why my place is so messy. WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!
Salem: Just like I said every time, I'M A SKUNK! Skunks are evil! It's my role to be an EVIL character, right?
Finley: What's wrong with you? We're not in a show or something. Can you just stop all of this fatherless plan?

The player fights the slimes and scorpions using the FinleyZooka from earlier, and it literally kelled a lot of them with just one shot. You must stay away from them because you get jumpscared by them and resets the ENTIRE boss battle, so you gotta be strategic. The reload of the bazooka is 10 seconds, which is so long to reload. The minions progressively gets tougher every ammo you shot. And it all leads to Blobgalola/Scorpion fusion you ran from it in the right room. It takes 3 shots to eliminate her. Once you done that, Salem would say:
Salem: Nooooo! My minions! They didn't take over! Whyyyy??!
Finley: Hey, staff! Place your bazooka at the watchtower nearby and blast the final blow on the furry!
We found the watchtower and quickly placed the FinleyZooka on it and we automatically hit Salem! But Salem said:
Salem: Nah, I'll backup my ejection.
And she has a secret backpack this whole time in her jacket and flew away, breaking the glass from the rooftops and the blow exploded. Little did you know, the FinleyZooka is capable of destroying soft objects, so if the area around it is hard, the area won't get destroyed unless if there's a soft object. If slimes and scorpions skin are soft, they are gone, reduced to atoms.
Rambley: Phew, everything's clear now, except for the roof and ripped off walls but it's fine. I can see your facial tracking is celebrating the wonders of joy. You made it so far that I don't even know what the future will be. We did it, we restored Oceanic Odyssey.
Finley: Thank you, new staff. I really appreciate all your hard work and effort you did. And thank you Rambley, for being known you in an hundred years.
Rambley: Thanks, Finley! How's your seashell collection going?
Finley: It's ok, Rambley. Wait! Look behind you!
Rambley: Is that... Lloyd? RUUUUUN!
I promise this is the final chase scene, but we get chased by LloydFord L. Lion and we go to the top room (where we kidnapped by Salem) and there were bunch of random numbers in the walls. Suddenly the gate shuts down and we came across a door with a password lock. We quickly used the random numbers on the lock and the door opens. We see an elevator slowly closes as we run faster. At the perfect timing, we escaped the lion. And we ascend the floors and came across a very large office with a TON of security cameras. You can see an information kiosk at the office and a Rambley plush sitting on the chair. We came across a note that said "If you are reading this fast enough, I'm watching you this whole time" and almost immediately, we get knocked out by ??????? (related to Garden of Banban 2 where we got fainted by Banban as we get the note). After this, the song "Rambley Review" starts playing, ending Chapter 2: Who Lives Under The Sea?

At the start of the game, we came across a advertisement video on Finley the Sea Serpent plush until it glitched at the end, appearing Salem in less than 0.5 seconds.

We go down the stairs and we are in Oceanic Odyssey filled with tanks and 3 different aquarium tunnels. You can see a statue of Finley the Sea Serpent in the middle of the aquarium just like the other mascots, except Lloyd or Salem. You will find a Rambley holding a trophy collectible as you explore. We came across Rambley and said "Hello there and welcome to Oceani(qaptrg)c Odyssey! This place is full of watery wonder, so let's DIVE in and SEA what awaits for us in this LIQUIDISING adventure! I will get fired from saying jokes on you :(. Anyways go to the middle tunnel and find Finley's Cave, where he lives." We must go to the middle aquarium tunnel but it won't open, so we went to the electrical power storage. We came across a Finley hat collectible in there. We pick up gears to open the gates of the first aquarium tunnel. 2024.06.01 06:04 DeliriousSquid I just beat Rockwell on Alpha Solo, here's how.
 | I've been going through the story arks with some friends on a nitrado server I've hired, NOT single player settings, we've tweaked some settings a little but nothing that effects bosses or gear. We are running at difficulty 6 so max wild level is 180, because mutating was the worst ark experienced for me. We banded together for the island caves, bosses, and Overseer cave/fight, but I did Scorched Earth solo and wanted to try aberration too. So far the bosses have been on alpha and haven't given much trouble at all with the right preparation, but Rockwell is definitely more of a skill issue. I watched Nooblets and Syntac, but most other videos used the cactus broth method and I didn't want to do that cheese. submitted by DeliriousSquid to ARK [link] [comments] So I went with 18 megalosaurus, a shinehorn, and a rock drake. All given ascended saddles I crafted after respecing all points into crafting. I had 5 sets of crafted flak gear, 3 crafted ascended shotguns, shadow steak and beer, and stacks of medical brews/food/water. I must have tried almost a dozen times with no success. First I tried Nooblets method (he only did Gamma rockwell solo this way) of setting pairs of megas to attack the tentacles. That worked for half the fight but once nameless and reapers show up the megas just aren't reliable, and after a few failures I switched tactics (If I failed, I just restored the server to an earlier save). I tried Syntac's way and had all the megas attacking rockwell while I handed the tentacles. I had a 354% shotgun that took a minimum of 9 shots per tentacle, but I was just taking too much damage through the fight and by the last third my drake had too little health to regain stamina sufficiently (even with 100+ nameless venom) I got close twice. Then I tried hiding the rock drake away near the edge of the arena, cloaked, and hop on a mega with a mate following and take out the tentacles. Straight away I noticed that basically all the energy orbs went after my rock drake, not me. I was left alone to munch on the tentacles but even doing 1400 damage per bite it was taking just as long as with a shotgun but I was taking more hits and I couldn't shoot while mounted. In just a few minutes the balls killed the drake and then focused on me, I went through multiple sets of armor in minutes because I couldn't shoot the balls. Big fail, but the fact that the energy balls all tracked the drake was the key. I traded out a megalosaurus for another drake and put it at the back of the arena at the start of the fight, uncloaked. I thought the balls were tracking the drake because it was cloaked, and my intention was to swap to the second drake once mine had taken enough damage. Instead, the balls all focused on the drake I'd put at the edge of the arena again, and it must have been protected by that organic looking terrain because the balls weren't hitting it. It was only when the nameless and reapers spawned that it started getting hit and died, but that was after multiple rounds of tentacles where I didn't need to worry about the energy balls at all. And that's how I did rockwell on alpha solo. As soon as I was in the arena I moved the kiting drake by one of the back pillars of the arena, behind those organic looking growths, then I set the megas to attack rockwell and went on my main drake to get the tentacles. It was much faster and more efficient not having to worry about the energy balls (I still don't know why they focused on the unmounted drake so much). Each time the tentacles went down I re-whistled my megas to attack Rockwell. The megas just use their grab attack if you are too close so I would whistle them to attack and then glide away quickly. Once the nameless appeared I cloaked my drake as I shot the tentacles, keeping note of my stamina. The reapers were more of a problem though, when they spawned they seemed to agro to me even when I was cloaked, but if I quickly glided to the other side of the area they would leave me alone and for the most part wouldn't re agro. I got dismounted by the tentacle electric attack once in my last attempt and lost my shinehorn but managed to remount the drake and continue. In the last 2 rounds my megas started dying to reapers, and my other drake had been killed by them too so the energy balls were back on me. At the end of the last round Rockwell had barely any health but all my megas were dead so I just drank beer, ran in front of him, and unloaded my shotguns while tanking the energy balls and reapers. I killed him with just over 2 minutes to spare. I don't think I could have done it without using the second drake to kite the energy balls, having to manage them as well as the tentacles was just taking so much time. Hopefully this helps others who want to take on rockwell solo. Here's the clip of me doing the fight. For a better idea. |

So some may know that my SIL is trying to cause extra chaos in my life after finding out about the affair. We'll she tried to get a restraining order against me even tho she was the 1 contacting. So we had court and she wouldn't drop it and wanted it to go to trial. So instead of trial my lawyer got a reciprocal no contact order filed and the judge agreed so maybe it's over. But now her husband, my WP brother, contacted him about a jacket she gave him last month. I told him the day I was served to give that jacket back and that he shouldn't have accepted it to start with. So he didn't take it back. Now she wants it back and all of a sudden it's the most important thing to do this weekend. So I told him no and threw it away bc I feel like him jumping up and doing what they want is just giving them validation that they still have some sort of pull in our relationship/life. He wasn't willing to give it back when I told him to but when they want it back all of a sudden he's all for it. So he took it out the trash and said he was gonna give it back, so I took a razor blade to it and said now u can give it back. It just infuriates me that he doesn't have my back or care what I want or respect my wishes. It seems like everyone else is always bettepriority. Other people feelings have to be protected and I just need to get over it. Like WTF is happening! I've been feeling out of touch with all my emotions the past couple of weeks and now that court is over everything is just flooding in and the fact that he wouldn't just let it be in the trash and be done with it just triggered me so hard. I don't think we are gonna work out. I've been trying so hard to keep the peace and work on our relationship at the same time but now I think I'm just wasting my time. I really wanna give myself until the end of the year before making any decisions but idk if I can handle anymore...

I suppose if you play a few thousand games you're going to encounter some types, but I'm just wondering if we've all encountered such a character--I was playing 3 min blitz (while pretending to watch a kids movie; sitting there with kidaboo ing lap on the couch trying to hide that I'm on my phone; you can only watch frozen 2 so many times) and honestly not doing very well, which makes it odd--it was one idiot blundering into another idiot, but apparently one was taking it very seriously and was adamant that I was cheating. Which as a tactic I guess is effective, in that I just switched to chat instead of the game, then let my seven year old finish (which I often do if it's a bit of a blowout) but he seemed sincere in his belief.

As the title states I wanna know what Fire Emblem game do you hate, or have beef with? Everyone is always asking for you favorites but I wanna know your least favorites and why?
I'll go first, it's a 2 way tie between Engage and Thracia 776. Bare in mind I'm going based off the games I have played and the games I have played only when I explain why. So if something i mentioned happened in another game... I probably didn't play it lol I've only been into the series for a little bit.
Why Thracia? Thracia 776 was supposed to be a love letter to fans of the series and people boasted it's one of the best in the series and it's meant for real fans... I didn't get that at all from playing it. First for it being a love letter to fans, it doesn't even play like any other FE game. There is no other FE game where you can ONLY get weapons from capturing units and taking their weapons. It's the only one in the series with a fatigue system so if you use a unit to much for healing or attacking, they have to sit out the next level, I didn't notice that Nanna was too close to fatigue and I was not restarting the entire level just to get rid of her Fatigue, (didn't have a Stamina drink) and in doing so she wasn't available to recruit Homer, unless I wanted to redo the last level. The game is also majority retreat maps, and again I've only played some FE games, but to my knowledge this is the only game that actively "kills" your units if your Lord escapes an area before they do. Radiant Dawn did it right where if your units escape before your Lord you get rewarded instead of penalizing you for not looking after everyone else. This might just also be an old game problem but it's way too obscure with what you're supposed to do for certain objectives I beat the entire game not even knowing there was a dancer I'm the game because I didn't have Lara talk to Perne BEFORE I recruited him, because I tried afterwards, thinking that's what I supposed to.. but no I just didn't get a dancer. Also... I love Leif soooo sooo much as a character, I even defended his Emblem Ring, but goodness gracious is he a liability. He rarely killed anything and half the time I just had him running away because he just needed to survive the map and make it to the end... which is soooo great because he's infantry locked... then there's that one character, Eiryos I believe? Who I flat out just couldn't recruit because I had Olwen in my party??? The game didn't even explain why, I had to Google it just figure out literally no one knows why that's a thing. Lastly this game has too much of a hard on for ambush spawns, chapter 6 is literally breaking out of a prison with ENDLESS ambush spawns not even giving time to understand the map, and then worst off while you're trying to escape the game just throws like 8 armored units at your when you reach the "exit" essentially you open the exit door and they're just an ambush of like 12 enemies... in Chapter 6? Really? You're pulling this kind of tactic this early? This aren't even easy units, they one rounded some of the characters I had brought with me, which brings me to my point, for a game that's praised as the "Fire Emblem game for Fire Emblem players" it throws a wrench in literally everything fundamentally Fire Emblem. The game even directly tells you that you're gonna lose people so just let it happen. If your game is telling you "you're going to fail protecting units deal with it" that not creative difficulty that's just bad game design. If you game is literally telling you "just accept your failure and move on" not only is that terrible message but they do it with literally peoples lives and act like I'm not supposed to care, like no? I want to see each other their endings why am I being Penalized for it? Overall I'd say it's my least favorite in the entire series and it's the only game in the series where literally looking at the credits after beating the final boss, I looked at the game and said "that's wasn't even fun I'm never playing this again."
Why Engage? Engage in my opinion is the most all style no substance game in the series in my opinion. The story is literally copy paste Awakening, it has some of the most boring map design I've ever dealt with. The game is so gorgeous to look at... but that's just it. All the characters and the world are so bright and full of life... then you actually play the game. My first gripe is this is the most uninteresting group of characters in the whole series in my personal opinion. Every. Single. Character has one thing they will always talk about and then Alear. Celine? Tea and the Divine Dragon. Alfred? Grow muscles to be strong and the Divine Dragon. Then there's characters like Clann and Framme who literally only talk about the Divine Dragon even in all their supports. Everyone's support were so boring I started skipping them near the end the game. Using Three Houses as an example, supports are a perfect way to flesh out characters and give them their own stories that's not the main one. Like why does Constance hate Ferdinand? Watch the support. Why is Lysithea always in a rush? Watch her support. Why does Catherine love lady Rhea so much. Watch her supports. I watched so many supports in Engage and they gave me no incite to more of these characters, they all talk about the same thing in supporst as the do in main story. Chloé really likes Folk food and she will spend all her supports having someone hate her likes and she doesn't care. Rosado has to make sure EVERYONE knows how much he likes cute stuff (this hurts because I wanted to like Rosado he's adorable) but it's literally the only thing he went on and on about in every single support i got sick of. His one with Merrin is when I decided to start skipping. They're arguing over what's better cute or cool and the whole support is them going back and forth over cute vs cool things and it doesn't even go anywhere, there's no growth, there's nothing interesting. Etie I give credit top because her supports made me laugh like one with Boucheron... but hers were the only ones, and only some because all the others are talking about muscles. Speaking of Boucheron... there were a good number of units I just forgot existed because they weren't very good at the start and just forgot about them. Amber, Boucheron and the chef whose name I literally always forget *(I remembered while typing it's Bounet). These characters are just so one dimensional to me. Back to level design... it's boring... I can't even remember most of the maps because almost none of them, Sans the Emblem levels those actually creative. The main story missions just all felt like they dragged on, and half the time is was because a character did something stupid so now I have to fix it. Around chapter 20 I was just wanting the game to end because it seamed like every knew chapter there was some inexplicable thing that just happened. There were way too many times a character would steal something from Alear just to appear on the map like 50 spaces away from them as if they didn't just steal it 1 second ago. It felt like Needless padding. Also the levels are just not interesting or have some gimmick that I could not care about, and that's thing the game gives you too much power to not care about it. I've only played through the game on Hard mode and I started a second playthrough, realized I wasn't even having fun, and just turned it off. Because of the way the Engage system works, this game is laughably exploitatible, and the thing is... that's the best part about it. There were so many maps I tried to so them the "normal" way but all that did was get me into a slog of trying to get to point A to point B while enemies just lined themselves up to be killed. Almost every single level can be cheesed just by using Hortensia and giving her Micaiah's ring and just warp spamming everyone to beat up the boss... and if that doesn't work, just change some units to Covert and give them Corrin. When I tell you that strategy works too well, I mean I was literally just beating missions with just Zelkov and Yunaka, I even changed other units like Chloé to Assassin because that tactic was working so well. I STEAMROLLED the game using only those strategies and that's when I realized... this game is literally all just bloat. They give you waaaaay to many ways to change up characters and give them a billion skills, if you're willing to spend +18 hours grinding for bond fragments, or you can just use these two strats and win the game. They give you all these excess tools that, in my opinion, that take too long to even get and then they're not even necessary to make this already easy game even easier, and dont get me started on those stupid bond rings that i have to sacrifice the overpowered Emblem Rings to even wear they were a complete waste of my fragments that were already hard to get. Which reminds me, that DLC is probably the worst FE DLC I spent money on. The story was super rushed, and didn't even make sense because the story makes you think it's only Alear and the two dragons there... but then you start the DLC and your allies are miraculously with you and don't talk during the story at all but for some reason have special dialogue when you fight certain characters. So are they there are or no? Nell is the only redeeming part of the DLC. I love her design and she has a great voice actor... but in game she was trash because they lock her class stats and skills to a map to map basis... oh wait... they did that with everyone... everyone has a static inventory that remains the same everytime you play a certain level in the DLC. So if Celine only has fire and surge in chapter 2 then she always only have fire and surge in chapter 2 you can't change it or even her class. Yup that's right, they gave us a DLC where everyone is class, level, and item locked. Meaning there's nothing new on repeat playthroughs... which you would have to do if you want the DLC characters in your playthrough. You HAVE to beat it every playthrough... which is huge letdown especially because in the game right before it, Three Houses, if you beat the Ashen Wolves DLC you get them on all playthroughs forever. So I have to sit here and think why the setback? This doesn't even make it more difficult or anything because now everyone can literally use the same exact strategy with no extra work. I watched someone 1 turn the final boss of the DLC and one person play it normal. The one person took almost like 40 minutes... I was not doing that so I did the one turn strat and it took me at most like 6 minutes and that's only because the character I was using missed one of their hits twice, but got it the third time. My last gripe is a bit personally and I understand why people disagree with it, but I absolutely hate that they gave us all the freedom to use whatever weapons in whatever way we want in Three Houses. Three Houses also had a lot of bloat to make your units OP, but the game actually warranted that because there were times it gets difficult, but not only that, it's not even hard or that time consuming to level these units, and even better Three Houses has NEW GAME+, unlike Engage, so I repeat playthroughs if you just want to just throw skills everywhere, you can! You don't even need to spend 5,000,000 Bond Fragments to do it!
So all and all these are my picks for my least favorite Fire Emblem games. These are still great games and I still recommend you try both of them... I'm just not personally fan. These games are by no means bad at all and you like them, keep on liking them! But I do want to know what is your least favorites Fire Emblem game?
