Here's my situation:
Recently I visited with an aunt who was neglectful of her two grandsons of 2 and 5 years old. In addition to this, she was also very hostile and impatient towards my 85 year old grandmother. These behaviors led me to shift into "surveillance mode".
Regarding the neglect of the boys, she would:
1.) Allow them to trip and fall without ever tending to them, no matter how bad the fall.
2.) Not give them water or fluids/food on a consistent basis.
3.) Leave them confined in "crib cages" that were bungee corded shut with blankets thrown over them for significant proportions of each day, despite begging to be let out. She would do the same with high chairs, leaving them there often in excess of 60 minutes.
4.) Ignore them whilst in said cages despite them clearly being ill with a respiratory infection that featured a nasty croup cough, leaving them with no water.
5.) Fail to tend to them for said respiratory illness at any point in any way throughout the day, including a failure to have them seen by a physician.
6.) Would respond with harsh unkindness to their pleas for attention.
She has near total control of the children, despite my cousin and the father of the children also living there.. I got the sense that this is something about which they are unhappy, but powerless to change. They would consistently want their children with them, yet she would quietly go about getting them back out to the living room where she would just ignore them.
I got the feeling that she is coercing my cousin and her boyfriend into submission in some way for some reason, when I was defending my grandmother and my cousin came and rallied with me on such in agreement, that she should be treated better.. my aunts response to her about this in a moment she thought I wasn't paying attention, was a nasty scowl and neck chop gesture that I believe meant "knock it off, or else", of which clearly intimidated my cousin and silenced her immediately followed by a quick retreat to her room. Her boyfriend also tended to display signs of similarly fearful or anxious submission.
Fast forward to my last night there.....:
1.)The children are locked in the cages, and she's finishing up showering or whatever in the bathroom.
2.)She comes out in a robe and sits across from me on her bed, and begins to part her robe and expose her undergarments whilst groping her inner thighs and clearly enjoying it, during which she attempted to make eye contact.
3.)After about 30 seconds of me paying "zero attention" to what she was doing and looking about the room, she huffed, closed her robe and stood up, and began displaying obvious indifference towards me.
4.)Approximately 5 minutes after standing up and acting clearly "moody", she approached the cage in which the 5 year old was residing. She crouched down to his level and out of sight and began repeating "Come over here my little boys name, grandmas not gonna love you until you come right here". He seemed to hesitate to do so, because she said it numerous times before stopping.
5.)Almost immediately after she stopped repeating those words, he began to giggle and laugh intensely for a period of roughly 30 seconds, followed by a single "suction pop" like sound, after which the giggling laughter ceases.
6.)She stands up and pivots away from the cage with a huge grin on her face whilst still looking towards the cage, and proceeds to lick her lips and wipe her mouth.
I tried to tell myself it couldn't have been what I thought it was and tried to suppress the extreme uneasiness welling up inside me, convincing myself she was just tickling him innocently like a grandma... Until she was sitting down moments later on the couch and he started coughing badly, gasping for air, managing to utter once before falling silent "Grandma, please let me out!", to which her response was cold hearted "Nope, uh uh!"
Long story short, I damn near lost it and left the house for a 'walk' which was actually me calling the police and trying to report her for neglect, police did nothing, I went to my oldest cousin who I thought was a mature adult and tried to convince her to plant nanny cams in her home near those cribs because I believe 100% she's sexually abusing at least the older boy, to which her response was to flip shit and tell the whole family, whom now despise me for having the "gull" to "fabricate" such a story which has made me in turn despise them for calling me a liar.
I've been plotting ways to try and see what the fuck is really going on... It's been on my mind every fucking day since...

The main alliance as now to begin target eatc other Ellie save themselves mutiple times leading Venon,Chelsea,Puffball and Soos to join jury. Ellie and Xavier battle to have the final immunity Ellie wins and ehect his rival o be the finale juror. the finalist make thei speach Ellie think she make a great game controlling form the beginning and suceed to fight agiant eeryone to be on final by winnin 10 challenge when Ivy proff despite nominet 6 time to be very liked to the main alliance and want no Ellie have the crown after not be in majority. after a close vote to 5-4 Ellie manage to won the game and be the first female winner.!<

I didn't really feel like making much changes, I think they are ok for the first season, just some tweaks most people can agree on. My main problem with this season's eliminations I would change are the reasons, like Cody going out due to injury or Leshawna being eliminated on the episode Mr. Coconut is "eliminated".• 22nd: Ezekiel

You can also make Courtney be introduced as normal and not have Noah, but I'd love to see Noah have a rivalry with Justin. Either way, Owen never comes back as a mole. A third option would be to only eliminate one of Jeoff and Bridgette and have the other one join the Gaffers only to be eliminated right after, this would make place for Noah on the Grips while still having Courtney join in later (honestly, action has so many non elimination episodes that you can play around with many things)• 16th: Jeoff

- Yes, I swapped Lindsay for Beth and Sam for Dawn, no it's not (only) because of my bias. Beth is literally a finalist who was inexplicably absent and Dawn balances the male to female ratio of the ROTI campers in all stars and is a better competitor than Sam. Beth pretty effectively replaces Lindsay for episode one (Sierra gets eliminated tho since she sat on Courtney and Beth doesn't vote herself, thus keeping Sierra's character from being ruined), after this Beth is comedy fodder until her elimination. Dawn has two roles this season, first she is really mad at Scott but still sees the good in him; and second, she is able see Mal's terrifying aura when he takes control, Mal notices this and rigs the votes to eliminate her (instead of Cam).
- Also, yes, one could use the exact same arguments I made for Beth and Dawn to justify swapping Sierra for Owen and make him go first instead. While you could do that, I prefer to let the viewers have a break from Owen before the Ridonculous Race.
- Duncan had enough screen time on the first 3 seasons so he didn't deserve to make it to the merge AGAIN. And he doesn't blow up Chris's cottage (mansion)
- Alejandro gets her revenge on Heather a bit later and he gets to the final 5
- Gwen and Courtney make up and don't fall out again
- I was gonna make a whole section talking about how Mal would be written in my version but it was so long that I'll just put it in a comment below
- Scottney is real. This relationship had potential but the writing was horrible. Through their relationship Scott gets a redemption Arc (While still being mischievous) that is hinted by Dawn and Courtney goes back to being more down to earth thanks to Scott and gets a happy ending in the form of a stable couple and finally getting to the finale (also kind of a redemption Arc). After working together to get to the finale they agree to play fair and let the better competitor win, Courtney is helped by Gwen and Cam (or maybe someone else) while Scott, to his disgust, is helped by the new Heather and Alejandro couple.

- Scarlet Fever happens one episode later and before this Scarlett herself is more involved in causing eliminations partly by using Max or clever wording, basically being "accidentally" responsible for Dave and Sky's break up by making sky reveal that she had a boyfriend, and causing Sugar's elimination
- No, Max being top three doesn't make him the main villain (that's Scarlett), he was only used by Scarlett and after her exclusion the only kinda "malicious" thing he does is agreeing with Sky to vote Jasmine and create a tie-breaker between her and Sky, which Sky ends up winning. After this Max looses the final three challenge abysmally. But he comes back alongside Dave to help Sky in the finally while Jasmine and Scarlett help Shawn.

A nasty power hungry narc who seems to be on somekind of mission to fully destroy me has decided to start a massive hate campaign and has told my neighbours I'm some kind of sex pest due to me doing webcam work. Now my neighbours won't speak to me and the locals are treating me like a criminal. He has even shared my pages with the local guys in an attempt to ruin me and paint me out to be a you know what as I usually cater for the taboo theme kind a stuff.
Anyway, things have gotten very uncomfortable, I've had to deal with lots of bullying and intimidation particularly from men. Some have been very threatening, If I'm parked in the supermarket one of them would park directly in front of me with headlights blaring or park right up behind me flickering headlights. If I tried to leave they'd attempt to block me in the space.
Also, stuff being thrown at my bedroom window. Recently, my rubbish was even checked too. The police are aware, but these guys have shown me they're untouchable.
I've now deactivated camming on all the free websites, and using other platforms as they'd take advantage of the whole free chat thing and lurk for hours even when I'd log out, since I did that things seemed to become more intense and started to feel really unsafe, I do have a phone number publicly on the AdultWork page and now find it difficult to defrentiate whether my outcall bookings I receive are real or from them having me on. I was recently walking and a man in a van drove towards me then did a U-turn, stopped, asked some guy "Is that her?" the guy said yes and then he drove off. I've stopped going out now, if I do it's straight in and out then quickly back home. This is just a snippet of everything I've encountered, I'm still unsure why he even decided to target me, probably because I'm an easy target being a single female, but I literally have nothing, it just feels like a plot in a movie.

As I was seated on that toilet seat, calming my body with the relieving sensation of excretion, I was reminded of why the toilet helps many a person with giving off inspiration. I thought to myself, hey, why not do an over-the-top analysis on my favourite show Total Drama cuz why not? So yeah, here I am, writing this.
The ‘nice athletic girl’ trope was one that was birthed from the start of the series but only really popularized and mainstreamed and beat down by most fans in recent times. The general definition is that the female ‘de facto main character’ of the ensemble cast would be an athletic female who also happens to be ‘nice’. Some throw about the terms bland and Mary Sue, but I digress. Now personally, I thought I’d take a deep-dive analysis into the girls who qualify for this trope and whether or not they actually deserve to be labelled as such or if it’s harsh on them. I’ll be analyzing the writing per usual, since that’s my main fun off of this show and look at if this term holds water or not. Now, the characters I see qualify for this role are Bridgette, Zoey, Sky and Priya so those are whom I’ll be focusing on. I won’t count Beth because her ‘niceness’ is thrown into question and is not conventionally athletic, Gwen because she isn’t conventionally nice either and no-one from RR since I don’t feel like anybody there checks the appropriate boxes, Carrie comes the closest, but probably not, no. So let’s begin. Also do note that I’ll be mostly objective so no matter your opinions on them, I’ll remain impartial for the most part. Brace yourselves, this will be a long post:
Bridgette:
Bridgette was the debut of this trope and while many exclude her from the discussion, she is athletic and nice and a girl so technically she fits the trope. I find it hilarious that Priya and Zoey compete in more episodes than her despite both having a season less and only being in 13 episode seasons. This indicates that Bridgette is not too good at the game. And well, she isn’t really that much. Let’s start with her Island representation.
Her main role this season was to serve as the ‘straight girl’, the calm presence to allow the other characters with more fun personalities to hog the spotlight, Heather, Gwen, Leshawna and Lindsay included. She forms a few inconsequential friendships with Gwen and Courtney which never get brought up again in future seasons and her main thing is hooking up with Geoff. Her challenge performances are decent. Her athleticism is shown a few times, coming when she did that handstand or jumped off the cliff. She was also shown to be a good cook and was generally a pretty helpful teammate and she had a few flitting moments here and there, but never gave off main character energy. The merge gave way to her other side, being the mediator between all the girls and their conflicts, probably because she’s easily the most rational of the lot. Technically, this does mean she’s more or less a supporting character the whole time, but someone’s gotta take that role. Her elimination also mainly serves to further the Geoff’s internal conflict and loyalties and also give Duncan his flowers as the most competent strategist of this season, his guys’ alliance managing to successfully pick off one of the girls, her, and yes Heather strategized too, but her strats were pretty weak let’s be real as she mainly relied on luck considering she was speedrunning turning everyone against her. Ultimately, she served her role till the end and that’s fine. Obviously her trope would be given much more relevance for her future iterations but that’s basically Bridgette’s run in Island, a glorified supporting character, kind of like Leshawna but less in your face and with a romance subplot too with Geoff.
In Action and World Tour, her relevance drops significantly. Action has her first boot after excessively making out with Geoff before appointing her as an Aftermath host where she continues to be a supporting character as her main role was to snap Geoff out of his Captain Hollywood arc while just acting as a secondary host. I’d argue Action was her least relevant season as well. For World Tour, she only lasts around 4 episodes and she’s mainly there to, say it with me kids, be a supporting character to someone else! Yay! This time to Alejandro, mainly to show off his ladies charm. She then has a smaller arc of apologizing to Geoff for trying to kiss Al, beefing with Blaineley and making friends with Bruno the bear but she’s just there to continue being the Aftermath host every now and then alongside Geoff.
Overall, Bridgette is a nice athletic girl, though one with very little relevance. She spends most of her screentime being a supporting character for other arcs and being the straightwoman to the other characters. This doesn’t necessarily mean she’s poorly written, but she isn’t exactly a main character either. She serves her role, but doesn’t do much outside of it.

Zoey:
Zoey’s probably the most controversial of these four girls. Terms like bland, Mary Sue, Zoeys*e or whatever else is thrown around quite often. I can see why people don’t necessarily like her, but let’s look at it objectively to see if she’s worth the hate.
In Revenge of the Island, Zoey’s there to form one of the crutches of the main romance of the season. One of the factors that plays in her favor is how involved she is with a lot of folks, formulating a victim-turned-rivalry relationship with Scott, a romance with Mike, friendship with winner Cameron and a few throwaway relationships like her rivalry with Anne Maria and her ‘friendship’ with Dakota. Now, I’d argue that she doesn’t fit the trope completely this season, mainly due to the fact that she’s not too athletic. She’s seen as passive and struggles a lot in physical challenges. That’s not to say she didn’t have capabilities before Commando Zoey, but they’re too forgettable. Her first few episodes build on her relationship with Mike and give us a less dramatic love triangle between her, Anne Maria and Mike, technically a square since Vito feels like a different character, but whatever. We also see our main baddie of the season Scott begin placing seeds of doubt in Zoey, which blossoms in her distrust in Mike for episodes 8 and 9, pushing their relationship to their breaking point before Mike finally bests his alters and completes his arc. I do find her a bit hypocritical in saying she loves oddballs but is weirded out by the way odder Dawn, but I digress. She then has a full-on rivalry with Scott in which she emerges victorious, commenting that Scott really brings the jerk out of her, that jerk being Commando Zoey. This is where her powers are born and take over her body. She basically becomes unstoppable then, beefing with Chef and she could have easily booked a place in the finale, but she sacrificed it for no real reason as she could have went and won the challenge and then went back to save Cameron from Larry. Regardless, her arc is well thought out and despite a few hiccups, she went through multiple character defining moments, but managed to grow and make friends and understand the value of friendship or whatever sappy message they were conveying.
To be frank, Zoey is really good in Revenge and I don’t have much issue with her, as she fulfils her multiple roles, being part of the main romance, causing the downfall of the main antagonist and being the main support system for the winner of the season, pushing forward the themes of friendship over lone wolf stuff. (Sha-Lightning is way better than Cam though). Irrespective, it is All-Stars where her character turns confusing. For one, she gains all her Commando Zoey power-ups in normal form, even when she was shown to have normal physical traits when in normal form. However, she was a winner in this season, so did she deserve to win?
While Zoey won All-Stars, I’d argue the main female character for that season was Gwen. Gwen was at the heart of conflict and Gwen was the one who ‘grew’ and was meant to receive the arc. Of course, I believe it’s horribly executed since it makes Gwen look like a hypocrite and victimise her even though she wasn’t necessarily in the right most of the time. Regardless, this is the role that Gwen occupies, even if it's poorly written. Zoey on the other hand, is too passive to be a protagonist. People say she takes up too much screentime, but I’d argue she takes too little. Her thing with Mal isn’t even her conflict, it’s just Mike against himself once more. Outside of that, she has no major arcs, or conflicts or well, much of anything really outside of giving us that Duncan-Zoey crackship. Sure, she makes friends with Gwen but ultimately, it’s inconsequential to both girls’ arcs, as it doesn’t provide much of anything to either one. Zoey is basically the greatest challenge beast in the show, insanely winning four merge challenges in a row, including the finale, 4!! That’s insane and I personally believe other characters would have benefited more thematically from winning.
I don’t think she’s a Mary Sue, since she has characters who don’t like her and is too dumb to catch onto Mal somehow, but she is indeed a very passive presence. It’s hard to tell what her role here exactly is. Is she the female main character? No. Is she meant to help Mike overcome Mal? No, he overcomes him in his head. Does she help in pushing anyone’s arcs forward? Not really. On top of being infuriatingly oblivious to some people, she serves no clear role in the story and to be honest, if she didn’t have a nice voice and design, she could have very easily been bottom of the barrel. All-Stars doesn’t derail her, it just puts her in purposeless and fails to justify her stance as a winner. That’s why she is a writing disaster in All-Stars, not just for the opinionated reasons you’ll see other folks give on why they dislike this iteration of her.

Sky:
Now onto my personal favorite to analyze, and probably my favorite of these four, Sky. Sky also gets a lot of hate, also due to her main relationship, which now I realize is a trait shared by all four of these girls. Regardless, Sky is the gen 3 iteration of the nice athletic girl. Her athleticism is given an actual background this time, where Zoey and Bridgette hadn’t had one, and Sky is naturally athletic due to her sister being a gymnast and her own dreams of being an Olympian one day which is nice enough. Out of four in selection, Sky seems to be the most competitive, sometimes even resorting to questionable decisions to try and obtain the grand prize. Let’s look into how she’s portrayed in Pahkitew.
Off the curb, she’s probably an early favorite for the win. She’s strong, athletic, rational, has good leadership perks and is smart too. She galvanises her unfocused team on occasion and I kind of wish they went with something of Sky vs Jasmine in leadership abilities since that had the potential to be interesting. However, Sky being overpowered required a distraction to get her eyes off the prize, and this is where our Hal of Total Drama steps in, Dave. (Megamind reference!) Ah, I have a lot to say about the genius behind the writing of Dave that is heavily underappreciated by the TD fandom, but we’re focusing on Sky right now. Sky and Dave, or Skave, is the perfect representation of how lack of communication can wreck a relationship. As good as Sky is at twirling in gymnastics and dominating physical challenges, kind of, she has a lot of other weaknesses that offsets these in the non-physical department, and the Skave relationship is the perfect way to display them while also giving her something to do. It always baffled me when people call Sky a Mary Sue, because she really isn’t, but then again, people tend to throw that term around way too cheaply. At first, it’s sunshine and rainbows for the new couple, Sky’s in love with Dave, but couldn’t get it through to him that she wanted to put that relationship on the back burner for the sake of the victory, and that was mainly down to a lack of trying to do so besides that one scene. The fragility of the Skave relationship was revealed and exposed in plot resistances, such as the healthiest love triangle in Ella’s unrequited crush on Dave and Sugar being Sugar. And technically Dave cheating on Sky with a bat, but alas. Things get to a heed when Sky’s lack of an assertive personality comes to wreck her whole thing with Dave as Jasmine comes through and begins to pressure Sky into ending it for petty reasons. To be frank, I think it’s a bit mean from Jasmine considering that they could have went along with the challenge and did well without having to wreck a blooming (Not) relationship but then again, I have a myriad of issues with Jasmine’s character, kind of, that should be discussed later. Regardless, Sky gets pushed to her limit by Dave in episode 9 and the two ‘break up’ and Dave gives himself the boot, now finally out of her way as a distraction and enabling a free run at the prize. Unfortunately for her though, Total Drama is a social game as well, and with Max and Scarlett and Jasmine and Shawn still around, she was forced to work with Sugar to get things moving, something she obviously didn’t like. Despite this, she was the mastermind behind the plan to trick Scarlett and nabbed second place in episode 11 even with Sugar weighing her down. Thanks to Sugar taking out Jasmine and then herself, her finale position was secure against Shawn… Only for Dave to return.
Now, Sky in the finale, is both very interesting and poorly written at the same time. Manipulating Dave by kissing him to string him along her little simp chain was a low move, but it helped in establishing that Sky has an obvious dark side and isn’t necessarily the sweet girl her predecessors Zoey and Bridgette were. Her relationship was thrown to the rocks though at the mention of Keith, her boyfriend who we can assume was probably pretty crummy to her considering she seemed somewhat nervous around him. Her lack of assertion bites her in the butt again as she didn’t have time to dump him, so now technically she cheated on Keith with another guy and roped in a boy toy for usage and now it’s all one giant mess. Regardless, it could have been saved with the right closure, but ultimately, the writing preferred to focus on the more happy relationship and gave them a closure, leaving Dave to well, die by Scuba Bear… That’s crazy.
Still though, Sky is easily the most multi-faceted out of the four mentioned in this trope bracket. Her morality can’t be summed up in a phrase and her motivations and actions are mostly understandable. Her role is to serve as the de facto main character. While some may point to her passiveness, unlike Zoey, she is passive in the sense that she doesn’t take action in her respective story arcs instead of not participating at all. Her lack of action is what pushes a lot of these plots forward, so in a way, her lack of action was the action that pushed forward the relationship action in her season. I think Sky mainly suffers from only having one season, so fans who don’t get this in-depth message can easily be left salty from the lack of closure at the end and might confuse her for a bad character which is a shame. Woo, that was a long one…

Priya:
Now, I had already done a previous post on her explaining why I think she’s a bad character so it’s better if you give that a read because I won’t give all those reasons again, but I’ll run over them anyway and add to them too. Priya is a very different character from both seasons. In terms of the way she acts, her season 2 self feels very reminiscent of a Courtney than she does a Zoey, which does call her presence in this bracket into question, but whatever. Let’s just see what she has to offer.
Like Sky, Priya is also given a backstory as to why she’s so athletic. She had trained all her life for Total Drama and thus has a lot of athleticism. I’m not sure why her parents paid no focus to social game since that is a very major aspect of the competition, but whatever. Her main arc was having a friend in Millie, but Priya for the most part was well, a side character in Millie’s story. If we want to think about it, what exactly justifies her season 1 win? It’s a similar situation to Zoey where her role in the story doesn’t necessarily justify her winning. Is she the main character? No, that honor belongs to Millie, whom I have already explained why she qualifies as that in a previous post. Does she help Millie grow as a person? Well, she has a vague influence, but honestly, I’d argue that Millie doesn’t really take any real introspection in herself until Bowie drops the notebook. Sure, she says she’ll change and wrestles a croc, but that’s a different arc of Millie actually trying in the challenges instead of always being passive, not really her main arc, of not judging others because she’s no better than them. Does she push anyone’s arcs forward? You can make a case for Millie, but I’d argue once more that Bowie does more to that than Priya herself and maybe Julia but I suppose Priya can take some credit. All of this culminates to when we reach the finale and we have things tense, Bowie is sneaky, Millie is an underdog and the third is.. Oh, Priya? Dang, I forgot she was here. Julia, Millie and Bowie hogged so much spotlight, they kind of left Priya to dry and yet they still make her win and do a Beth.
In season 2, this is where things take a turn. Priya becomes less focused on winning the whole competition and becomes engulfed in her romance with Caleb… Oh boy… I’m personally not the biggest fan of this plotline, since I feel as if it’s kind of like the ‘arc’ she and Millie had last season, but this time as a romance instead of friendship. Obviously there are differences, but it’s nothing too major. The first 7 episodes, Priya faces little difficulty really and soars by. Sure, she was in bottom 2 in episode 4, but they were never eliminating her over Emma that round. It’s episode 8 when things take a turn and Caleb is exposed for ‘playing on her feelings’. At first, she’s sad, quiet and you can feel sympathetic for her… And then she just turns psycho. Oh boy, episode 9 is a piece of work. She just can’t stop crying and rages a lot and it feels as if her character took a complete 180 of the season. Now, I’m aware they showed some glimpses of angry Priya in the finale of season 1, but this does feel like they came a little too strong with it. We’d then get the worst handled plotline of the reboot seasons, as the relationship began flipping about from being ok to not ok to ok to not ok and so on. And considering how much of a disaster Julia was this season, the fact that they threw her into the mix and made every little thing they did bend to her will only added to the crapstorm that they piled up. For example, in episode 10, both Caleb and Priya take Julia’s relationship advice without much question. You might make a case for their naivete in relationships, but come on now, Priya had been tormented by Julia all of last season and knows how mean she is, where she was scheming on her even while she was crying and Caleb himself refused to join the MK-Julia alliance in the episode prior because he saw last season and knew how untrustworthy they were yet here he is, taking advice from her as if nothing was ever said. The flip floppiting continued until episode 12 and she is eliminated in the most predictable elimination ceremony in all of Total Drama. Oh boy, where to even start with this one.
Now, Priya in season 2 is actually meant to be taken as the main female character. Most of the drama occurs around her and her relationship with Caleb is a mainstay focus throughout the whole season, literally. She beefs with Julia, the main antagonist too which is another touch. However, the main issue comes with what do the writers exactly want to do with her? A main character is meant to be someone you should root for, yet for the 8-13 debacle of episodes, it never really felt as if Priya was to be rooted for. Priya and Caleb lack the sweetness of Bridgette and Geoff or Mike and Zoey and the subtle clever messaging of Dave and Sky. It was a relationship that had no real purpose. It didn’t further any character. All it did was turn Priya into a crazy Courtney and Caleb into a whiny muscular Dave. It never felt like either character grew or benefited from the other. It was only a source of drama, meant to feed Julia and make her better than she actually was and was more or less a pointless decision. This makes Priya a… Well, kind of a writing disaster of a character. Regardless of what you think of her, her character never gets furthered all that much, and I don’t believe she’s worthy to take the title of female main character in season 2. There really wasn’t one, since Julia is meant to be an antagonist and MK her lackey and that’s why this season fell flat, lack of clarity for roles. But hey, I digress.

Ultimately, I believe I have come to the conclusion that Sky is easily the best written and complex of these characters, even if some may find her bland. Bridgette isn’t much relevant, Zoey is too passive and Priya too aimless and these hold them back. Are they Mary Sues? No, none of them are, but they happen to have writing flaws engineered around them to cover them in this trope. So yeah, I'm heading off to put a sandwich on my ham.

Her main role this season was to serve as the ‘straight girl’, the calm presence to allow the other characters with more fun personalities to hog the spotlight, Heather, Gwen, Leshawna and Lindsay included. She forms a few inconsequential friendships with Gwen and Courtney which never get brought up again in future seasons and her main thing is hooking up with Geoff. Her challenge performances are decent. Her athleticism is shown a few times, coming when she did that handstand or jumped off the cliff. She was also shown to be a good cook and was generally a pretty helpful teammate and she had a few flitting moments here and there, but never gave off main character energy. The merge gave way to her other side, being the mediator between all the girls and their conflicts, probably because she’s easily the most rational of the lot. Technically, this does mean she’s more or less a supporting character the whole time, but someone’s gotta take that role. Her elimination also mainly serves to further the Geoff’s internal conflict and loyalties and also give Duncan his flowers as the most competent strategist of this season, his guys’ alliance managing to successfully pick off one of the girls, her, and yes Heather strategized too, but her strats were pretty weak let’s be real as she mainly relied on luck considering she was speedrunning turning everyone against her. Ultimately, she served her role till the end and that’s fine. Obviously her trope would be given much more relevance for her future iterations but that’s basically Bridgette’s run in Island, a glorified supporting character, kind of like Leshawna but less in your face and with a romance subplot too with Geoff.
In Action and World Tour, her relevance drops significantly. Action has her first boot after excessively making out with Geoff before appointing her as an Aftermath host where she continues to be a supporting character as her main role was to snap Geoff out of his Captain Hollywood arc while just acting as a secondary host. I’d argue Action was her least relevant season as well. For World Tour, she only lasts around 4 episodes and she’s mainly there to, say it with me kids, be a supporting character to someone else! Yay! This time to Alejandro, mainly to show off his ladies charm. She then has a smaller arc of apologizing to Geoff for trying to kiss Al, beefing with Blaineley and making friends with Bruno the bear but she’s just there to continue being the Aftermath host every now and then alongside Geoff.
Overall, Bridgette is a nice athletic girl, though one with very little relevance. She spends most of her screentime being a supporting character for other arcs and being the straightwoman to the other characters. This doesn’t necessarily mean she’s poorly written, but she isn’t exactly a main character either. She serves her role, but doesn’t do much outside of it.

Zoey:
Zoey’s probably the most controversial of these four girls. Terms like bland, Mary Sue, Zoeys*e or whatever else is thrown around quite often. I can see why people don’t necessarily like her, but let’s look at it objectively to see if she’s worth the hate.
In Revenge of the Island, Zoey’s there to form one of the crutches of the main romance of the season. One of the factors that plays in her favor is how involved she is with a lot of folks, formulating a victim-turned-rivalry relationship with Scott, a romance with Mike, friendship with winner Cameron and a few throwaway relationships like her rivalry with Anne Maria and her ‘friendship’ with Dakota. Now, I’d argue that she doesn’t fit the trope completely this season, mainly due to the fact that she’s not too athletic. She’s seen as passive and struggles a lot in physical challenges. That’s not to say she didn’t have capabilities before Commando Zoey, but they’re too forgettable. Her first few episodes build on her relationship with Mike and give us a less dramatic love triangle between her, Anne Maria and Mike, technically a square since Vito feels like a different character, but whatever. We also see our main baddie of the season Scott begin placing seeds of doubt in Zoey, which blossoms in her distrust in Mike for episodes 8 and 9, pushing their relationship to their breaking point before Mike finally bests his alters and completes his arc. I do find her a bit hypocritical in saying she loves oddballs but is weirded out by the way odder Dawn, but I digress. She then has a full-on rivalry with Scott in which she emerges victorious, commenting that Scott really brings the jerk out of her, that jerk being Commando Zoey. This is where her powers are born and take over her body. She basically becomes unstoppable then, beefing with Chef and she could have easily booked a place in the finale, but she sacrificed it for no real reason as she could have went and won the challenge and then went back to save Cameron from Larry. Regardless, her arc is well thought out and despite a few hiccups, she went through multiple character defining moments, but managed to grow and make friends and understand the value of friendship or whatever sappy message they were conveying.
To be frank, Zoey is really good in Revenge and I don’t have much issue with her, as she fulfils her multiple roles, being part of the main romance, causing the downfall of the main antagonist and being the main support system for the winner of the season, pushing forward the themes of friendship over lone wolf stuff. (Sha-Lightning is way better than Cam though). Irrespective, it is All-Stars where her character turns confusing. For one, she gains all her Commando Zoey power-ups in normal form, even when she was shown to have normal physical traits when in normal form. However, she was a winner in this season, so did she deserve to win?
While Zoey won All-Stars, I’d argue the main female character for that season was Gwen. Gwen was at the heart of conflict and Gwen was the one who ‘grew’ and was meant to receive the arc. Of course, I believe it’s horribly executed since it makes Gwen look like a hypocrite and victimise her even though she wasn’t necessarily in the right most of the time. Regardless, this is the role that Gwen occupies, even if it's poorly written. Zoey on the other hand, is too passive to be a protagonist. People say she takes up too much screentime, but I’d argue she takes too little. Her thing with Mal isn’t even her conflict, it’s just Mike against himself once more. Outside of that, she has no major arcs, or conflicts or well, much of anything really outside of giving us that Duncan-Zoey crackship. Sure, she makes friends with Gwen but ultimately, it’s inconsequential to both girls’ arcs, as it doesn’t provide much of anything to either one. Zoey is basically the greatest challenge beast in the show, insanely winning four merge challenges in a row, including the finale, 4!! That’s insane and I personally believe other characters would have benefited more thematically from winning.
I don’t think she’s a Mary Sue, since she has characters who don’t like her and is too dumb to catch onto Mal somehow, but she is indeed a very passive presence. It’s hard to tell what her role here exactly is. Is she the female main character? No. Is she meant to help Mike overcome Mal? No, he overcomes him in his head. Does she help in pushing anyone’s arcs forward? Not really. On top of being infuriatingly oblivious to some people, she serves no clear role in the story and to be honest, if she didn’t have a nice voice and design, she could have very easily been bottom of the barrel. All-Stars doesn’t derail her, it just puts her in purposeless and fails to justify her stance as a winner. That’s why she is a writing disaster in All-Stars, not just for the opinionated reasons you’ll see other folks give on why they dislike this iteration of her.

Sky:
Now onto my personal favorite to analyze, and probably my favorite of these four, Sky. Sky also gets a lot of hate, also due to her main relationship, which now I realize is a trait shared by all four of these girls. Regardless, Sky is the gen 3 iteration of the nice athletic girl. Her athleticism is given an actual background this time, where Zoey and Bridgette hadn’t had one, and Sky is naturally athletic due to her sister being a gymnast and her own dreams of being an Olympian one day which is nice enough. Out of four in selection, Sky seems to be the most competitive, sometimes even resorting to questionable decisions to try and obtain the grand prize. Let’s look into how she’s portrayed in Pahkitew.
Off the curb, she’s probably an early favorite for the win. She’s strong, athletic, rational, has good leadership perks and is smart too. She galvanises her unfocused team on occasion and I kind of wish they went with something of Sky vs Jasmine in leadership abilities since that had the potential to be interesting. However, Sky being overpowered required a distraction to get her eyes off the prize, and this is where our Hal of Total Drama steps in, Dave. (Megamind reference!) Ah, I have a lot to say about the genius behind the writing of Dave that is heavily underappreciated by the TD fandom, but we’re focusing on Sky right now. Sky and Dave, or Skave, is the perfect representation of how lack of communication can wreck a relationship. As good as Sky is at twirling in gymnastics and dominating physical challenges, kind of, she has a lot of other weaknesses that offsets these in the non-physical department, and the Skave relationship is the perfect way to display them while also giving her something to do. It always baffled me when people call Sky a Mary Sue, because she really isn’t, but then again, people tend to throw that term around way too cheaply. At first, it’s sunshine and rainbows for the new couple, Sky’s in love with Dave, but couldn’t get it through to him that she wanted to put that relationship on the back burner for the sake of the victory, and that was mainly down to a lack of trying to do so besides that one scene. The fragility of the Skave relationship was revealed and exposed in plot resistances, such as the healthiest love triangle in Ella’s unrequited crush on Dave and Sugar being Sugar. And technically Dave cheating on Sky with a bat, but alas. Things get to a heed when Sky’s lack of an assertive personality comes to wreck her whole thing with Dave as Jasmine comes through and begins to pressure Sky into ending it for petty reasons. To be frank, I think it’s a bit mean from Jasmine considering that they could have went along with the challenge and did well without having to wreck a blooming (Not) relationship but then again, I have a myriad of issues with Jasmine’s character, kind of, that should be discussed later. Regardless, Sky gets pushed to her limit by Dave in episode 9 and the two ‘break up’ and Dave gives himself the boot, now finally out of her way as a distraction and enabling a free run at the prize. Unfortunately for her though, Total Drama is a social game as well, and with Max and Scarlett and Jasmine and Shawn still around, she was forced to work with Sugar to get things moving, something she obviously didn’t like. Despite this, she was the mastermind behind the plan to trick Scarlett and nabbed second place in episode 11 even with Sugar weighing her down. Thanks to Sugar taking out Jasmine and then herself, her finale position was secure against Shawn… Only for Dave to return.
Now, Sky in the finale, is both very interesting and poorly written at the same time. Manipulating Dave by kissing him to string him along her little simp chain was a low move, but it helped in establishing that Sky has an obvious dark side and isn’t necessarily the sweet girl her predecessors Zoey and Bridgette were. Her relationship was thrown to the rocks though at the mention of Keith, her boyfriend who we can assume was probably pretty crummy to her considering she seemed somewhat nervous around him. Her lack of assertion bites her in the butt again as she didn’t have time to dump him, so now technically she cheated on Keith with another guy and roped in a boy toy for usage and now it’s all one giant mess. Regardless, it could have been saved with the right closure, but ultimately, the writing preferred to focus on the more happy relationship and gave them a closure, leaving Dave to well, die by Scuba Bear… That’s crazy.
Still though, Sky is easily the most multi-faceted out of the four mentioned in this trope bracket. Her morality can’t be summed up in a phrase and her motivations and actions are mostly understandable. Her role is to serve as the de facto main character. While some may point to her passiveness, unlike Zoey, she is passive in the sense that she doesn’t take action in her respective story arcs instead of not participating at all. Her lack of action is what pushes a lot of these plots forward, so in a way, her lack of action was the action that pushed forward the relationship action in her season. I think Sky mainly suffers from only having one season, so fans who don’t get this in-depth message can easily be left salty from the lack of closure at the end and might confuse her for a bad character which is a shame. Woo, that was a long one…

Priya:
Now, I had already done a previous post on her explaining why I think she’s a bad character so it’s better if you give that a read because I won’t give all those reasons again, but I’ll run over them anyway and add to them too. Priya is a very different character from both seasons. In terms of the way she acts, her season 2 self feels very reminiscent of a Courtney than she does a Zoey, which does call her presence in this bracket into question, but whatever. Let’s just see what she has to offer.
Like Sky, Priya is also given a backstory as to why she’s so athletic. She had trained all her life for Total Drama and thus has a lot of athleticism. I’m not sure why her parents paid no focus to social game since that is a very major aspect of the competition, but whatever. Her main arc was having a friend in Millie, but Priya for the most part was well, a side character in Millie’s story. If we want to think about it, what exactly justifies her season 1 win? It’s a similar situation to Zoey where her role in the story doesn’t necessarily justify her winning. Is she the main character? No, that honor belongs to Millie, whom I have already explained why she qualifies as that in a previous post. Does she help Millie grow as a person? Well, she has a vague influence, but honestly, I’d argue that Millie doesn’t really take any real introspection in herself until Bowie drops the notebook. Sure, she says she’ll change and wrestles a croc, but that’s a different arc of Millie actually trying in the challenges instead of always being passive, not really her main arc, of not judging others because she’s no better than them. Does she push anyone’s arcs forward? You can make a case for Millie, but I’d argue once more that Bowie does more to that than Priya herself and maybe Julia but I suppose Priya can take some credit. All of this culminates to when we reach the finale and we have things tense, Bowie is sneaky, Millie is an underdog and the third is.. Oh, Priya? Dang, I forgot she was here. Julia, Millie and Bowie hogged so much spotlight, they kind of left Priya to dry and yet they still make her win and do a Beth.
In season 2, this is where things take a turn. Priya becomes less focused on winning the whole competition and becomes engulfed in her romance with Caleb… Oh boy… I’m personally not the biggest fan of this plotline, since I feel as if it’s kind of like the ‘arc’ she and Millie had last season, but this time as a romance instead of friendship. Obviously there are differences, but it’s nothing too major. The first 7 episodes, Priya faces little difficulty really and soars by. Sure, she was in bottom 2 in episode 4, but they were never eliminating her over Emma that round. It’s episode 8 when things take a turn and Caleb is exposed for ‘playing on her feelings’. At first, she’s sad, quiet and you can feel sympathetic for her… And then she just turns psycho. Oh boy, episode 9 is a piece of work. She just can’t stop crying and rages a lot and it feels as if her character took a complete 180 of the season. Now, I’m aware they showed some glimpses of angry Priya in the finale of season 1, but this does feel like they came a little too strong with it. We’d then get the worst handled plotline of the reboot seasons, as the relationship began flipping about from being ok to not ok to ok to not ok and so on. And considering how much of a disaster Julia was this season, the fact that they threw her into the mix and made every little thing they did bend to her will only added to the crapstorm that they piled up. For example, in episode 10, both Caleb and Priya take Julia’s relationship advice without much question. You might make a case for their naivete in relationships, but come on now, Priya had been tormented by Julia all of last season and knows how mean she is, where she was scheming on her even while she was crying and Caleb himself refused to join the MK-Julia alliance in the episode prior because he saw last season and knew how untrustworthy they were yet here he is, taking advice from her as if nothing was ever said. The flip floppiting continued until episode 12 and she is eliminated in the most predictable elimination ceremony in all of Total Drama. Oh boy, where to even start with this one.
Now, Priya in season 2 is actually meant to be taken as the main female character. Most of the drama occurs around her and her relationship with Caleb is a mainstay focus throughout the whole season, literally. She beefs with Julia, the main antagonist too which is another touch. However, the main issue comes with what do the writers exactly want to do with her? A main character is meant to be someone you should root for, yet for the 8-13 debacle of episodes, it never really felt as if Priya was to be rooted for. Priya and Caleb lack the sweetness of Bridgette and Geoff or Mike and Zoey and the subtle clever messaging of Dave and Sky. It was a relationship that had no real purpose. It didn’t further any character. All it did was turn Priya into a crazy Courtney and Caleb into a whiny muscular Dave. It never felt like either character grew or benefited from the other. It was only a source of drama, meant to feed Julia and make her better than she actually was and was more or less a pointless decision. This makes Priya a… Well, kind of a writing disaster of a character. Regardless of what you think of her, her character never gets furthered all that much, and I don’t believe she’s worthy to take the title of female main character in season 2. There really wasn’t one, since Julia is meant to be an antagonist and MK her lackey and that’s why this season fell flat, lack of clarity for roles. But hey, I digress.

Ultimately, I believe I have come to the conclusion that Sky is easily the best written and complex of these characters, even if some may find her bland. Bridgette isn’t much relevant, Zoey is too passive and Priya too aimless and these hold them back. Are they Mary Sues? No, none of them are, but they happen to have writing flaws engineered around them to cover them in this trope. So yeah, I'm heading off to put a sandwich on my ham.

Hi! I met with my advisor today for my application review, and she strongly advised me to apply for MD/PhD only instead of my original plan of mostly MDs and a couple of MD/PhDs. After the input from another post, I’ve decided that if I do an MD/PhD, I would want to do basic immunology. I don’t know if it’s imposter syndrome, but I feel very nervous about only applying to MD/PhD. Her explanation was because my app is so research-heavy and low clinical, it might hurt me in MD-only admissions. What do you all think?

Then, two weeks before my exam, I was diagnosed with a sleep disorder and prescribed stimulants. For the last two FLs I took (AAMC 4 and 5) with my new meds, I got a 520 on both. I know my n=2 is not strong, but I feel just going in with that confidence will help my score; I didn't fall asleep this time lol

I recently have been talking to a girl on a cam site for a few months and am wondering what I should do.
I found a girl who is really fun to chat with and I obviously think she’s very beautiful and love the attention. I started giving her tips over the course of the last few months and never asked her to undress or do anything sexual. We talk sometimes on telegram and have a very nice rapport. We recently did a c2c and just talked. She seemed very excited to do this and was telling me how she was nervous because she liked me so much. She also said she wasn’t ready to undress for me yet because she was a little embarrassed because she likes me and said she’s very attracted to me. She’s always asking me to send pictures of myself when we chat (no money involved just regular free pics to telegram) because she wants to see my smile. So I’m really into this girl. I have no delusions that we are in love or that we will ever have something in real life outside this fantasy. I know how the game works. I know I am paying from time to time to have this fantasy and that’s fine with me. Being a man though I was interested in seeing more. He deemed it zero fault of either party (on the police report) and advised both of us to contact insurance, etc. Everyone drove off. Insurance companies were contacted and a claim started.
Yesterday she calls me hysterically. The two women had made a public Facebook post claiming she was avoiding the insurance company (she isn’t, she’s just waiting for the claim to be settled) and tagged everyone from her father and her stepmother, the officer involved, my daughters friends, etc. She also put their places of employment, and how they aren’t doing anything to speed up the settlement.
Not only that, but they clipped a part of the police report that only showed my daughters address and place of employment, and then said “let’s go eat” (she works in food service).
(She is claiming she still has injuries from the fender bender and now she’s going to sue for medical bills. But her public social media shows her driving her car across country, going to parties and events, etc, with no mention of any injury. ).
They claim they made the post for lawyer purposes, but I can’t imagine a lawyer advising them to harass members of her family and doxx the poor girl.
She blocked me from the post but I saved everything. Should she file a police report for harassment? My daughter has extreme anxiety issues and this is causing her a lot of physical and mental anguish.

The GCPD don’t make jokes about him anymore.
They used to. Back when they thought they knew the rules. Familiarity breeds contempt, after all. They’d let the freak handle the other freaks, even if he didn’t go all the way like he should have, but the Blue Wall was too big even for him. He’d know his place or get crushed.
So yeah, there were jokes. And some of the braver cops even made those jokes when in earshot.
(Never face-to-face, though. Funny that. Not a single cop was brave enough to make those jokes with him standing right in front of them.)
But not anymore.
Thank Lenny Flasco. CSI tech, out of the 65th. A real entrepreneur, Lenny. Had a sideline in selling evidence from high-profile crime scenes. Quickly figured out how to make bigger profits. Made it known that, for a generous fee, he’d make sure you never got caught. It’s easy for fingerprints to get smudged, after all, or evidence to be contaminated. Had a good thing going for a while there.
Thing is, Lenny fancied himself an artist. Was aiming for the big time. And, well, you need a gimmick in this town to get noticed. And he’s kind of an asshole, is Lenny, and one day he happened to get the term ‘pencil-dick’ thrown his way, and a synapse fired.
And the Eraser was born.
To be honest, even in Gotham the helmet got him some odd looks. But he was too damn good at what he did for people to make a big deal. Guy practically was a human eraser anyway. Robberies, rapes, murders, whatever you did, he could make it disappear. Make it like you were never there. It was almost like rewriting reality. And no one even noticed.
Well, almost no one. A lack of evidence can be its own type of evidence, after all.
But he couldn’t do anything. No evidence chain to follow. And besides, the Eraser knew the nature of the Blue Wall. The wealth was spread generously. Too many cops benefitted for the game to stop, and even among the ones that didn’t there was the joy of rubbing in exactly who was in charge in this town. And if a few victims went without justice and a few lives got ruined, well, shit, que sera, you know? Their fault for not being able to buy justice in Gotham. Just the way the game is played. Suck it up.
So, life was sweet for the Eraser. The mobs were eager to pay, as were the wealthier perps. Plenty of uniforms and detectives and ADAs willing to spread the word for a cut. Things got so good that for a while there he practically ran CSI. You wanted a conviction, you had to run it by the Eraser first, make sure he hadn’t set up an arrangement.
Yep, for a while there, things were pretty sweet.
Then Trent Davenport happened.
Trust fund asshole, heir to the Davenport millions. Streamer and social media influencer, which just meant idiots gave him money he didn’t need to be a too-online rich asshole with some barely coherent far-right views. But one night, after some media event, Trent got coked up with a thousand-dollar-an-hour call-girl and took her on a joyride around the Adams Expressway in his Mercedes. Got into a fender bender with a family sedan and went off on the occupants. Lifelong Gothamites, but with enough visible Puerto Rican and Guatemalan ancestry to set Trent off. The resulting racist tantrum, recorded by security cameras, both dashboard cams, and at least 100 onlookers, would have ordinarily have just prompted a tearfully insincere apology on social media the next day… except Trent pulled out a ridiculously large gold-plated handgun and filled the sedan – and family – with bullets. Only the youngest, Celia, survived.
Frankly, Trent’s brief career as a criminal didn’t cover him with glory. He barely made it to the city limits before he caught up, and it wasn’t even an especially difficult collar; Trent basically pissed himself at the first glimpse of a cape. And there was so much evidence that he wasn’t even really needed. Hundreds of witnesses, video footage, a custom handgun, a custom car with custom plates… even the GCPD couldn’t screw this one up.
But Daddy Davenport didn’t like the idea of his son and heir, useless waste of DNA he might be, bringing that kind of shame on the family name. Certainly not just over a car full of brown people. So, when a cop sidled up to him and suggested a solution, he listened.
And the Eraser went to work.
In a twisted way, it was genius. A work of art. All that evidence somehow evaporated. Even the call-girl who’d been next to Trent all the time was somehow seen at the other side of the city when it happened. It was like someone had managed to hack reality. They knew they were only hanging on to whatever public support they had by a thread. They knew fucking over an orphaned six-year-old in public was the last thing they needed. They knew the city only needed a spark to explode. And some of them even had consciences. Trent Davenport was too rich to get the whole book thrown at him, but he needed to hit with a few pages at least.
No, this one was all the Eraser. He’d gone off the reservation. Because Lenny had been getting greedy, Lenny had been getting cocky, and worse of all, Lenny had been getting bored. The usual heists, drug deals gone wrong and accidentally dead hookers were beginning to bore him. He wanted a real challenge. And part of him wanted to show everyone who was really in charge of this town. Who really decided who was guilty and innocent, what was true and lie, reality and fantasy.
So, the GCPD got out the riot suits and tanks, ready to crack a few heads… but the streets were weirdly quiet. There’d been the usual pleas for calm, but it didn’t feel like people were listening. No, it felt like people were mostly… bunkering down. That there was some weird collective, animalistic instinct spreading through the people of Gotham, telling them there was a storm coming and that no one wanted to be on the streets when it hit.
Oh, how right they were.
Because there was another victim of crime in Gotham City. A victim who looked at a little girl with a void in her life she’d have to live with forever and saw himself. A victim who had felt that powerlessness and despair and hopelessness only too keenly.
A victim who had made a Vow.
A victim who went to work.
Trent Davenport really enjoyed his celebration party. Especially enjoyed the feeling that he really was untouchable. Looked forward to proving it with a few hot bitches who caught his eye. They wouldn’t say no. Even if they wanted to. Because he could do whatever he wanted to whoever he wanted.

They never did figure out how the sound system still functioned despite all the damage to the electronics.

Which meant it only took a broken nose, a few good punches, and about thirty seconds dangled off a penthouse balcony for him to begin screaming about a detective, possibly called Kline or Keane or something else beginning with ‘K’, who offered to put him in touch with someone who could make his son’s latest screw-up disappear. But he never met this ‘Eraser’ directly, it was all handled by intermediaries…
And that’s the problem with Gotham: there are so many intermediaries.
So he decided to go through all of them.
The GCPD was so preoccupied with the possibility of riots that it took Dispatch a while to realise certain officers were beginning to go AWOL. Just completely dark, no communication at all. But it somehow took them longer than it should have to realise the connection: from the first beat cops on the scene to the precinct captain, all the missing officers had at some point worked the Davenport case.
And then those same officers began showing up in emergency rooms. Or walking into precinct houses or churches desperately begging to confess their sins. Or, in one notable case, were found in their patrol car as it was dangling off the Azzarello Bridge by a cable. They found Detective Andrew Kendall at the altar of St Jerome’s naked from the waist up, on his knees, arms wrapped around the parish priest and sobbing, desperately begging for someone to absolve his sins because he’d had a taste of Hell and didn’t want any more…
And then more began to join them. It’s still one of the worst nights in GCPD history for 10-13 callouts. There weren’t enough cops to cover all the cops who were suddenly screaming into whatever device was closest to them that they were under attack, they needed immediate assistance, oh God, they think it’s the—
Cops from all over the city. Cops guilty of any number of sins. But who all, some bright spark eventually realised, had one particular sin in common.
And then the entire 65th Precinct went offline.
Word is, every single SWAT officer present refused to even enter the building. Five tactical units, twenty men a piece, and every one of them said no way. Apparently, not even one of them wanted to risk being caught alone in the dark. There’s a photo of Commissioner Loeb literally stamping his foot and screaming at a guy like a toddler which somehow managed to slip through the media blackout and blew up on social media. Apparently his now-customary death orders didn’t carry the same weight they once did.
They eventually did storm the building… when the lights went back on. The place was a war zone. Cops sprawled everywhere. No fatalities, but plenty wishing they were. The lucky ones were just unconscious. A few of them – the clean ones – were unharmed, but this was the 65th, so there weren’t many of them. Non-badged criminals were all sitting in the cells, quiet as kittens, not making trouble. Not wanting to attract any attention. The precinct’s forensics team were found huddled together in the remains of their office, cowering and whimpering, but for the most part physically unharmed. They weren’t much help, though. The most lucid one just kept sobbing “I’m sorry” over and over.
The most useful comment came from a witness who’d been processed for possession when the storm hit. He just looked the interviewing officer right in the eye, and said “He’s out for blood tonight, bro.”
Lenny Flasco was nowhere to be found.
Oh yes, the Eraser had seen it coming. And he’d made plans, because he was smart, and cunning, and a slippery little asshole when all was said and done. Oh yes, Lenny was well away from the 65th by the time the storm showed up, and he was planning on being even further by the time the evening was through. Somewhere nice and sunny and sandy. He had plenty of money to enjoy it now, after all.
But you know what they say about plans and the enemy.
Because, like all plans, the Eraser’s hinged on other people helping him out. And by that point, those other people had also realised the nature of the storm passing through Gotham. And who was the focus of it.
Connections suddenly started drying up. Phones weren’t being answered. When they were, people were pretending not to know who was calling. Finally, someone had to spell it out: the Eraser was marked, radioactive, and no one with two brain cells to rub together wanted to be between him and him. Even Two-Face didn’t need to flip the coin to make that decision. The Eraser was persona non grata. He’d been cut loose. Erased.
You might feel a small stab of pity for the Eraser at this point: he’d made millions on his fixes, but none of it would even buy him a cup of coffee in this town. Word is, last anyone saw of him when he could still stand under his power, he was desperately trying to force a bag full of thousand-dollar bills into the hands of a sketchy car dealer who was equally desperately trying to pretend he wasn’t even there over some shitbox. He was still wearing that helmet.
No one else knows if the Eraser managed to get the car or not. But they do know he didn’t get somewhere sunny and sandy. Unlike Trent, he didn’t even get to the city limits before the storm finally hit him.
Next time anyone saw the Eraser, he was lying in a mangled and whimpering heap on the floor of Commissioner Loeb’s office, tangled in black fabric. He’d been thrown through the window. Forty-nine floors up. With him was a recorded confession, detailing every crime he’d covered up. No one’s been willing to listen to it more than once. And even with that, a week later, when he woke up in the hospital, the only thing he’d say was “I confess.” His physical injuries healed surprisingly quickly, but his brand-new stammer doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast. Or his night terrors. To this day, no one’s managed to figure out exactly what he did to the Eraser.
They know what he did with that stupid helmet, though; it’s still impaled on the tip of Lady Justice’s sword. No one’s been able to figure out how to get it down.
Or if they should.
A lot of cops left after that mess. Not enough to really change things, but enough to make people notice. Some of them – not enough, but some – left facing criminal charges. More just quietly took early retirement. Trauma, they said. They couldn’t handle the pressure anymore. What specific pressure they couldn’t handle went unsaid, but everyone knew. For months after, there were stories of cops having panic attacks just after being assigned the night shift. Some were physically invalided out. No one likes to think about them. (There’s a significant overlap between these ones and ones facing charges.)
And the ones who stayed, clean or dirty, even they couldn’t help but notice a gradual change in the GCPD. The rot didn’t disappear – it was too deeply embedded, for that – but it wasn’t like before, when the times were good, the money was flowing like wine and you could laugh at the jokes about the freak. Now, someone offers you a kickback, someone offers to make it worth your while to look the other way or fix a problem, someone even makes a joke about bats, every time you feel a sudden cold chill, and you can’t help but think: that he might be watching. That he might somehow know. That the only reason you’re even still here might just be because he allows it. That he doesn’t kill only because there are worse things than death, and he can summon them. And that some night, when you’re alone on the mean streets, no backup in sight, the shadows might suddenly move, and it might be your turn for your sins to catch up to you, to get yours like the Eraser got his…

They used to. Back when they thought they knew the rules. Familiarity breeds contempt, after all. They’d let the freak handle the other freaks, even if he didn’t go all the way like he should have, but the Blue Wall was too big even for him. He’d know his place or get crushed.

To be honest, even in Gotham the helmet got him some odd looks. But he was too damn good at what he did for people to make a big deal. Guy practically was a human eraser anyway. Robberies, rapes, murders, whatever you did, he could make it disappear. Make it like you were never there. It was almost like rewriting reality. And no one even noticed.
Well, almost no one. A lack of evidence can be its own type of evidence, after all.
But he couldn’t do anything. No evidence chain to follow. And besides, the Eraser knew the nature of the Blue Wall. The wealth was spread generously. Too many cops benefitted for the game to stop, and even among the ones that didn’t there was the joy of rubbing in exactly who was in charge in this town. And if a few victims went without justice and a few lives got ruined, well, shit, que sera, you know? Their fault for not being able to buy justice in Gotham. Just the way the game is played. Suck it up.
So, life was sweet for the Eraser. The mobs were eager to pay, as were the wealthier perps. Plenty of uniforms and detectives and ADAs willing to spread the word for a cut. Things got so good that for a while there he practically ran CSI. You wanted a conviction, you had to run it by the Eraser first, make sure he hadn’t set up an arrangement.
Yep, for a while there, things were pretty sweet.

Trust fund asshole, heir to the Davenport millions. Streamer and social media influencer, which just meant idiots gave him money he didn’t need to be a too-online rich asshole with some barely coherent far-right views. But one night, after some media event, Trent got coked up with a thousand-dollar-an-hour call-girl and took her on a joyride around the Adams Expressway in his Mercedes. Got into a fender bender with a family sedan and went off on the occupants. Lifelong Gothamites, but with enough visible Puerto Rican and Guatemalan ancestry to set Trent off. The resulting racist tantrum, recorded by security cameras, both dashboard cams, and at least 100 onlookers, would have ordinarily have just prompted a tearfully insincere apology on social media the next day… except Trent pulled out a ridiculously large gold-plated handgun and filled the sedan – and family – with bullets. The undisputed facts in my opinion. TH was killed. Things happened on the ASY. Anything beyond that is just draped in too many layers of conflicting motives to say with 100% certainty.
I've watched MaM when it came out 8 years ago, and CaM just recently. I find both present a heavily biased view. I dislike editing tricks, such as those used by MaM in the AC interviews, having him say Yes to a different question that was never answered, and using nervous shots from other moments. Presenting court room footage this way is disingenuous and undermines what the filmmakers claim is their motive for making the series. I also dislike cherry-picked editing of interviews, and the choice of who was interviewed in CaM. It basically gave LE a free pass to portray the story in the way they wanted. Especially the interview sections with KK stood out to me as internally inconsistent and retroactively justifying his actions, with motives that don't match what happened. I made those observations while watching CaM before I knew about KKs abuse of power and history of ethics violations.
To me there seems to be a clear bias in favor of SA in MaM and a clear bias in favor of LE in CaM. Before watching CaM I didn't know who Candice Owens was, after looking her up she seems like an awful person.
Here is my theory of what happened:

At the same time, there are enough inconsistencies and oddities that make it questionable that zero pieces of evidence were planted. In my opinion the defense and interview of BD were unethical. I believe that lying to a 16 year old and putting pressure on him for four hours is a way to get convictions, not a way to get truthful statements. But there are pieces of evidence such as BD asking if they mean "the rape" when initially interviewed in November as well as various things he talked about on the phone while in jail that make me lean towards he had some involvement. The extent of his involvement is not apparent to me. Claims that BD is a mastermind that orchestrated some hyper-complex crime coverup seem ridiculous to me. Given SA has a history of being a sexual predator and forcing his will on other people, I find it plausible that he could do such a crime. I believe he was involved in one way or the other in the murder of TH, for me it's just too suspicious for him to call AutoTrader, suppressing his number and giving a fake name -- something he has no history of doing before -- specifically requesting TH. There are other pieces of evidence that suggest to me that he did kill her, but the closer you look the more murky many of the supposed "bulletproof pieces of evidence get". Cleaning his room in a way that removes 100% of blood and DNA seems implausible to me, which suggests to me the stories used to convict him and BD have holes. I'm convinced SA knows more than he is letting on, and that would also explain the defense strategy. He knows what happened, and it doesn't entirely match one of the two conflicting stories used by LE to convict him and BD. So he is adamant that someone framed him, because they did.
In total that leaves us with a complex situation where LE framed a guilty man, as well as a dead woman with a grieving family that deserves closure.

I've watched MaM when it came out 8 years ago, and CaM just recently. I find both present a heavily biased view. I dislike editing tricks, such as those used by MaM in the AC interviews, having him say Yes to a different question that was never answered, and using nervous shots from other moments. Presenting court room footage this way is disingenuous and undermines what the filmmakers claim is their motive for making the series. I also dislike cherry-picked editing of interviews, and the choice of who was interviewed in CaM. It basically gave LE a free pass to portray the story in the way they wanted. Especially the interview sections with KK stood out to me as internally inconsistent and retroactively justifying his actions, with motives that don't match what happened. I made those observations while watching CaM before I knew about KKs abuse of power and history of ethics violations.
To me there seems to be a clear bias in favor of SA in MaM and a clear bias in favor of LE in CaM. Before watching CaM I didn't know who Candice Owens was, after looking her up she seems like an awful person.

I (M23) and my girlfriend (F21) have been having a small argument recently, and I wanted to get some outside opinions. I play video games fairly often with my best friend (a guy) and on the rare occasion, one of his female friends. I see nothing wrong with this - I don't know the female friend in real life, I don't know what she even looks like, and I only ever play with her and my best friend, never alone with her. He has never noticed anything odd with this other girl either, and they play games together often. The games we play are games my girlfriend does not enjoy and is not good at, so she can't really participate.
However, my girlfriend has insisted that it is not okay and she doesn't feel comfortable with me playing video games with another woman. Her reasoning is, and I quote, "you are very attractive and I am not, so I worry." For reference, I never use a Webcam when playing so this other person has never seen my face, either. I can't help but feel this is a throwaway issue and not something to be remotely concerned about, but I don't know if there's something I'm missing here or not. Am I overreacting to her point of view?
Girlfriend's Side: My issue is that the games he plays are games I can't partake in because I 1) can't afford them and 2) get really bad anxiety playing shooter games. The first time I met this other girl was during lethal company, the only game I can play with them, she had her facecam on and was super pretty, like american beauty standard level pretty. And the entire game, despite it being a coop game where you need to communicate with all of your teammates, She barely acknowledged me and only really spoke to my BF and his best friend. I had also tried to play Overwatch with them once but dipped out after the first match because the same thing happened. I know I'm probably just being insecure but he has been oblivious to girls flirting with him in the past and she gave off those vibes when I was with them so it just makes me uncomfortable.

Gf edit: I just want to clarify some things because this is Reddit so obviously the whole picture isn’t here. Firstly I do know I am insecure and it is something I have been actively working on since I know it’s an issue. Secondly I want to make it clear I’m not trying to tell him he can’t spend time with people of the opposite gender, I’ve asked questions about coworkers before but I’ve never gotten peeved about him working with girls like some comments are claiming and he has women he is friends with irl that he spends time with frequently, sometimes even alone, and I’m not bothered by that cause I do trust him. My issue lies solely in this specific girl because she hasn’t known him long either and the times I was in the call with them she did have her face cam on which is just weird when playing games with 2 dudes who are both in relationships and neither have theirs on (BF edit: this is not true - my best friend has his facecam on often). Also she wasn’t speaking as if she was shy, she was just blatantly ignoring me when I’d ask questions about the game and try to small talk with her. This is the first girl I’ve felt this strongly that something was off with but he doesn’t want to stir the pot so he refuses to ask not to play with her anymore for fear of upsetting her or his best friend so we are just trying to find help with a possible compromise.
