I was just wondering, a major distinction between audiophile music systems and “consumer” systems is that audiophile systems aim for a neutral frequency response. Meanwhile consumer audio usually is tuned to be “V shaped” with for example added bass.
If I were a musician who wanted the best sound for my listeners, and I knew almost all would listen on equipment like a JBL headphone with 10% bass added, I would therefore master my music with 10% less bass to end up with my intended sound on those JBL’s.
However the above would mean that audiophiles with a neutral system would miss 10% bass on their systems.
Is what I describe just BS, or is music mastered to “correct” for the mostly crappy sound systems average people use?

Yes, yes, "apples to oranges." Now that that's out of the way, please help me decide.
This will be a daily driver. For the first two months it will be a 100 mile round trip commute. But thereafter, it will be more like 200 miles per week. All driving Southern California where chargers are generally available ... though the Electrify America chargers (free BMW chargers) are rare and packed supposedly.
I love the B58. It's a fun engine and so responsive. But the instant torque of M50 is undeniable. No kids/family/pets. No major hauling of cargo.
My issue with the M40i is that its gas and will cost me a lot of money in the short term. My commute over the next 2 months will be intense, and you're talking over $25 per day in gas. I also don't need the SUV aspect of the car. Sitting higher is fun sometimes but being lower is more immersive to the sporty experience.
My issue with the M50 is that its an EV (I know eye roll). But more importantly, it's an EV that doesn't have access to the Tesla supercharger network. I do not have any way to charge the car at home (living in an apartment and not a house). I used to have a Tesla and hated having to sit at chargers everytime i wanted to drive it. But the thing that's changed my mind potentially is that there are ChargePoint chargers in the parking lot of my office. I understand these to be slower chargers but hey, 10 hours a day aint bad.
I get this is a unique and longshot comparison but hey, toss me your recs. Cheers.

For context I've always had problems with my mom. I think the best way to describe her would be controlling. She would yell, curse and generally be very explosive, it was hard to know what would “trigger” her. All of this led to me moving out to my bf/his family's house as soon as I turned 18. I cut off all contact with my parents for a few days to calm down and then went in contact with my dad. Long story short we talked it through and established a more healthy relationship. I thought my mom was a bit different too, just nicer overall, and that having distance to her truly helped a lot.
I now work as a substitute teacher, sometimes monday-friday and sometimes only every other day. I visit my parents every now and then but because of work, lack of money and lack of public transportation where I live, I can't visit too often or stay for many days at a time. So I compensate by texting my parents and sending them pictures. This month my mom has not been very responsive to my messages. I didn't think much of it because she does have a bunch of health problems and even had a stroke a few months back, so I assumed that she was just tired. With that in mind I wished her happy Mother's Day twice this week and went to visit last Monday with a mother's day gift (20 dollar chocolate box). She seemed happy about it. The next morning I said that I would have to head home in the evening because I had work the next day. I think this is what set her off. She told me “well you don't care about us anyway. I decided to test you this month by ignoring your messages to see if you would care. But you only seem to care when you need something”. This was insane for me to hear. Looking back at our messages this month and there was only “how's it going “ messages from me, a few pictures I sent from work and some volunteer work I do, the happy mother's Days messages and one message where I briefly mentioned that I needed to be careful with money and save up because me and my bf are moving out soon. In that moment I realized how utterly stupid and manipulative her words and behavior was. She then proceeded to say that I never visit. I explained that I've been working and visiting on my free days and even took this day off to celebrate Mother's Day. It just became a yelling argument, I tried keeping my cool but was getting really worked up and emotional. I ended up saying “wtf do you want from me? Do you realize how manipulative you are? you're such an asshole”. I went outside crying to cool down. When I went back in to gather my things, my dad was “scolding” my mom for always making me cry when I visited. It made me think back and realize that this was true and that I in fact had often ended up crying or arguing with my mom over something she initiated. I just left and texted my dad later to apologize for all the yelling and thank him for standing up for me.

I’m a junior in high school, female, looking to apply to USAFA and USMA to be Class of 2029. I feel pretty good about my application, and will be going to all three Summer Seminars this Summer, but I’m curious on what else I can add in my last year of high school. Here are my stats:
3.94 UW GPA, 4.33 W (will be 4.5 after this year) have taken maybe 5 honors and 5 APs (Euro, Calc AB, Seminar, Lang, Bio) and will take 5 Sr yr (Stats, Physics, CSP, Gov, Macro) School doesn’t do class rank but I would estimate myself to be top 20-30 out of 470.
35 ACT (34 math, 35 science, 36 english, 36 reading, and 9 writing, took it three times) 1450 SAT (700 math 750 english, took once bc school offered it for free)
By the time I graduate, I’ll have 4 years of varsity swim under my belt and 2 years of water polo. I’m not super good at either though so I don’t do club and haven’t won any league awards. But I can pass the CFA and will train hard for it this Summer. When I was younger up until age 12 I did martial arts for 5 years… but I don’t think that’s relevant anymore.
C/Capt in Civil Air Patrol, joined in 2020 and will be a Squadron Commander at my state encampment this Summer (will be leading 60+ cadets, it’s a big encampment). I will be Cadet Commander of my local squadron during my Senior year and have won two Gold Presidential volunteer service awards from 350+ service hours over 2022 and 2023. I’ll hit C/Maj before I apply to USAFA. I also do CyberPatriot competition, I did 5 years of it and my team made it to Semifinals every year.
I’m in the STEM leadership institute, which is a program at my school, and I’m in Mathletes club, and did Mock Trial for two years, was vice president before I quit to join water polo. I also teach kids from my parent’s country of origin English online for an hour once a week, have been since sophomore year spring.
I was hired as a lifeguard by my city and I’ll start working in a couple months when my paperwork goes through and hopefully I’ll do that until I graduate. Also, this Summer I’m trying to get EMT certified at a course in Texas. Ultimately I want to go into medicine in some capacity, majoring in biology at the Academy so I think this is a good step to take.
I think that’s everything. The biggest reason behind why I want to go into the military is because I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, and I feel like I have a sort of moral obligation to serve and make people’s lives better in any way I can. There’s more, I wrote my Summer Seminar essays about it a little bit.

At the same time, I'm navigating my own new Crohn's diagnosis, and just started Skyrizi. I am also on mesalamine. Would it be unwise for me to forgo the mesalamine and just give it to him instead? I'm scared to quit mesalamine because I had a horrible GI bleed last time I stopped it, but I'm also really worried about my dad, and he may need it more than I do. Any advice welcome. Thank you

Just a little context: My wife and I are both 25. We got married in Thailand legally. We have a 4 month old baby who was born in Thailand also.
I know certain immigration processes are changing frequently. I just want to make sure I begin the correct visa process. I know I will have to obtain US citizenship and a passport for my child separately. That seems relatively easy compared to getting my wife the US visa.
Is the CR1 what I should be going for still? If anyone has gone through the process recently I would love to open a line of communication and periodically pick your brain or ask some questions.
Does anyone have good recommendations for agencies?
Is there a simplified step-by-step guide somewhere in the event I decide to complete the process myself?
I suppose it’s also worth noting that working abroad has reduced my income temporarily, but I still have comfortable income and a good savings. I am self employed and was wondering if there’s a proof of income aspect to this process also?
