Longtime recording engineer, Michael Prince, who was working with Jackson at the time “Hold My Hand” leaked, recalls:
“He was truly upset when the song he did with Akon leaked. He would just get this sad look on his face like, how could this happen? Because 20 years ago this would not have happened. And somehow everybody in the world has a copy of it. And that really upset him because he liked that song a lot.”
Akon gave a detailed account of the events surrounding the leak during an appearance on Tavis Smiley’s PBS television show in January 2009:
“Me and Mike did this incredible record called Hold My Hand and the record is amazing. Phenomenal. And the concept was that this would be Mike’s first release off of his new album, and then I would stripe it on my album – on my following release. That way we could have the outlets open for everyone to be able to receive the record. You know, Mike came up with this brilliant marketing launch for the record. You know, he’s the best at launching a record.”
Akon continues:
“He’d have the whole world paying attention in two minutes… And before we could get to that point, the record got leaked over the internet. And we got over 15 million downloads on the song for free. So we couldn’t [release it]. You can’t at that point. Everybody already has the record. But in a way, you gotta look at it like… that’s just a gift to the fans.”
2008\* - (Late June) Michael hires Dr Thome Thome as his new manager and president of MJJ Productions. 2024.06.01 10:36 Worth_Umpire_3361 Together We Can: Joining Hands for Education Equality with Pehchaan The Street School

Together We Can: Joining Hands for Education Equality with Pehchaan The Street School
"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships."
– Michael Jordan.
JOIN HANDS symbolizes ‘to work together in an enterprise or a task.’ We can accomplish great things if we all join hands and work together.
You must have heard of the Elephant and the Monkey story. If not? Here is the story. In a forest, lived one elephant and a monkey who were too highbrow on their qualities and would often quarrel about who had superior qualities. So, one day an owl thought to teach them a lesson about the importance of collaboration and teamwork and had an idea to initiate a competition, and whoever wins would be considered superior and more powerful. The challenge was to get a golden fruit from an old tree present in the forest behind.
To reach the forest behind, both of them had to cross the river. But the monkey swept away along with the high current and after that, the elephant asked the monkey to ascend on his back, and then they successfully crossed the river. The challenge was still not completed. The elephant attempted to descend the tree but the tree was so strong and didn't shake so the monkey decided to climb up the tree and pluck the fruit.
When they came back and the owl was going to declare the winner, both of them first stopped the owl from declaring the winner and then expressed their gratitude towards each other and stated that they were able to do so because of their joint efforts.
The moral of the story has been stated as follows:
  • No one is superior to anyone, individually one is not effective. However, collectively as a team, we can achieve the impossible. All because you used unity at the right time to do the right thing.
  • Teamwork is the backbone of collaboration and effective communication within an organization. It increases efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborative problem-solving leads to better outcomes.
  • As everyone knows, the work done by a team is always done at a much better pace, with high accuracy and precision when compared to the work of an individual. It always has a large impact on a huge amount of people.
  • Teamwork gives opportunities for growth, lowers the risk of burnout, yields fewer mistakes, and sparks creativity.
  • Working in a team encourages personal growth, addresses a large number of people, and reduces stress.
  • It leads to enhanced creativity and improved quality of work.
  • It improves organizational culture, and brainstorming and encourages a common goal.
  • Teamwork skills are essential for the academic and professional success of an individual.
Also, I would like to focus on the concept and the importance of education:
Education can be defined as the training of people, and the transmission of skills, knowledge, and character traits, and manifests in various forms. Formal education occurs within a structured institutional framework, such as private and public schools, following a curriculum.
  • It helps you improve your career and personal growth.
  • It contributes to human development and helps you make the right decisions in life.
  • It increases the chance of employment and also helps in the creation of an identity of a self.
  • Education provides stability in life, and it's something that no one can ever take away from you. By being well-educated and holding a college degree, you increase your chances for better career opportunities and open up new doors for yourself
  • It helps to reduce inequalities and reach gender equality.
  • It leads to innovations and discoveries.
  • It helps in the character and moral development of an individual.
  • Education helps a person to get knowledge and improve confidence in life.
  • It teaches lessons of gratitude and humanity.
  • Learning changes your thinking capabilities and perceptions.
Similarly, Pehchaan The Street School is not an individual entity. It has a group of volunteers whose motive is to help each underprivileged child create a PEHCHAAN (‘identity’) for themselves. In 2015, it consisted only of 5 volunteers, with an increase in time, Pehchaan The Street School consisted of 500+ volunteers along with interns and other community members.
Mr. Aakash Tandon along with his friends started it. Pehchaan The Street School aims to provide quality and free education to every underprivileged child. From elementary education to vocational studies, they have emphasized the value of education as a fundamental right. The motive is to make education accessible to every child with a desire to learn. The institutionalization and commodification of education across our country have severely restricted the ability of the underprivileged to access means of vocational as well as academic studies, and that’s the barrier that we aim to break with Pehchaan The Street School.
At Pehchaan The Street School, where the holistic approach to education dominates, we are venturing beyond just academics to break off from the conventional. They recognize multi-dimensional issues faced by underprivileged children and offer integrated interventions. They also provide free health checkups, skill enhancement courses, workshops on the importance of personal hygiene and sanitation, mental health treatment, financial support, and legal aid.
Various initiatives taken by Pehchaan The Street School for the rights to equality, freedom, and education for each underprivileged child are mentioned as follows:
  • Quality Education
It is provided by setting up informal schooling spaces in inaccessible locations; the initiatives break down barriers that typically prevent these children from accessing formal education systems.
Education completely changes the way how an individual thinks and takes action in their life.
  • Creation of a supportive environment
Pehchaan The Street School consists of parents, local communities, interns, volunteers, and various community members in the educational process fostering a supportive environment for all the children to learn efficiently.
  • Personal Hygiene and sanitation camps
Various camps are organized to provide information about hygiene and measures to maintain it. Hygiene camps conduct interactive sessions on handwashing, dental care, and personal hygiene, instilling habits that serve as the first line of defense against infections and diseases.
  • Financial Support
Financial aid is provided to underprivileged children through donations in various forms such as uniforms, books, shoes, cash, adoption of a child’s education, etc.
  • Menstrual education
Various sessions are conducted by Pehchaan The Street School to spread awareness and information about menstrual cramps, menstruation, and other factors related to it.
  • Gender Equality
Gender equality is the state of equal ease of access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender, including economic participation and decision-making; and the state of valuing different behaviors, aspirations, and needs equally, regardless of gender. Pehchaan The Street School also conducts sessions on social norms and etiquette, basic salutations, and educates children on how to treat others, etc.
  • Reduced Inequality
It stands for recognizing the unique challenges faced by different groups and implementing measures to overcome barriers, promote equal rights, and foster inclusive societies where everyone can thrive.
  • Free health checkups
Monthly free health checkups take place under the supervision of Pehchaan The Street School for each underprivileged child and woman.
  • Mental health treatments
Counseling, peer support, medication, psychological therapies, and brain stimulation therapies are conducted to keep the stress level low and are used to provide education about mental health.
Overall, Pehchaan The Street School focuses on the academic and holistic development of each underprivileged child as well as woman.

Exploring Europe is a dream for many travelers, especially with the continent offering so much to discover! But how much will it cost to visit each of these destinations in 2023? It's important to factor this into your itinerary and budget.
When creating your travel plan, you'll need to consider both the costs of flights and accommodation as well as other expenses like food and entertainment. Depending on where you're going and what activities you want to do, prices can vary greatly. For example, if you're looking for an upscale experience in Paris or Rome, expect to pay more than if you were just visiting smaller towns or villages.
To get the most out of your trip without breaking the bank, there are several things you can do. First, research different budget-friendly options such as hostels or Airbnb accommodations instead of hotels; also look at transportation alternatives like buses or trains rather than flying between cities. Additionally, make sure that when booking restaurants or attractions that there aren't any hidden fees associated with them. With some planning ahead of time — and maybe even some savvy haggling — you can save money while still having an amazing European vacation in 2023!

What Language Is Spoken In Each Of The Destinations?
Travelling to Europe in 2023 is an exciting prospect, and with so many places to visit it can be hard to decide where exactly you'd like to go. This is especially true when it comes to visas. Depending on where you're headed, obtaining the right type of visa can make or break your trip - literally!
The good news is that most countries in May Europe have very straightforward visa policies. In some cases, no visa may be required at all if you plan on staying in the country for less than 90 days. However, even if you don't need a visa, you should still check with the local embassy just to make sure nothing has changed since your last visit. Additionally, keep in mind that certain activities like working or studying will require an additional permit from the government.
It’s also worth noting that many countries offer tourist visas which allow visitors to stay for longer periods of time without having to apply for long-term residency permits. These can be invaluable if you want to explore multiple destinations during one trip and are great way to get around red tape associated with entering multiple countries within one region. So before planning your journey through May Europe this year, double-check what kind of paperwork is needed so you don’t run into any unexpected surprises along the way.

But no matter your choice, you're sure to have a great time. 2024.05.31 23:13 onex7805 Could Alien III be the same story with Newt and Hicks alive?

Alien 3 is a prime example of a "mixed bag". Alien: Resurrection is said to have killed the series, but in the long term, I think Alien 3 is more responsible since it stifled the series' potential. With Alien 3 killing pretty much everyone in the cast, it led to Ressurection... literally resurrecting the dead characters by cloning... Not that there was nowhere to go after 3, but it certainly didn't help.
The filmmakers have been trying to turn the Alien series into a legacy franchise for decades, even by Ridley Scott and James Cameron themselves, and it has not worked because, retrospectively, 3 put the franchise into a corner. The legacy sequel would have been much easier had the series still retained the characters. An adult Newt could have taken Ripley's torch trying to prevent the future generation from going through what she did, and someone like Hicks acting as an experienced mentor.
On the other hand... I kind of like Alien 3. Not great, but I like some of the experimental concepts they were going for that are unthinkable for the franchises today to do. It goes out of its way to have the balls to make crazy creative choices and even disservice the fans, straying away from what the fans would have liked after Aliens. I like the return to the claustrophobic horror, relentlessly oppressive vibe, the prison settings, the theme of terminal illness inspired by the AIDS crisis, a religious theme of redemption, and even Ripley being impregnated with a xenomorph and ultimately sacrificing herself.
The problem ultimately lies in the balance. Risky decisions can be good only if they don't make the audience turn against the film from the beginning of the movie. The bleak atmosphere is good, but there is really no counterbalance of levity to compliment. Even the first Alien movie had some levity and fun, so when the dread hits, the audience feels it. In contrast, Alien 3 is just so overtly dark and depressing from the beginning that it becomes numb. The film tries to be artsy and "deep", but it is not artsy enough to take itself to be an art movie. It still is a summer horror action blockbuster. If they actually wanted to go for the religious character study, they would have gone for Vincent Ward's script, but they didn't because the producers recognized it still has to be an Alien movie.
So it ultimately becomes a movie that appeals to only a few. The Alien fans don't like it because it kills the characters off-screen in the beginning. It's not a character study arthouse fans would like because it's still a plot-driven narrative. Alien 3 treats characters like pieces on a chessboard that need to be moved around dramatically as the plot dictates, not so many individual characters making organic and consistent decisions and actions. Aliens began with Ripley's relationship with Newt and Hicks, which is where the narrative shined. Not their individual characters but when they share the screen time together. It used its pacing as well as the relationships in a way to disguise what could have been a schlocky Starship Troopers narrative. Alien 3 didn't understand this and instead killed them off-screen because they thought it was clever.
I am curious if it is possible to incorporate all these concepts and themes from the movie, while also having Hicks and Newt alive at the beginning of the movie, so that we get the character chemistry and relationships, both in a way to make the characters shine and give a narrative some sense of levity.
Let's say, similar to Vincent Ward's script, there is an overlooked alien egg hatching aboard the Sulaco, resulting in the Sulaco being under siege by Xenomorphs. We see a frantic sequence of the survivors awakened from hypersleep. Bishop is killed off. As the Xenomorphs are infesting the cruiser, Ripley, Newt, and Hicks take an escape pod and flee.
With them crash-landing at the prison planet, how would the story change? How would Ripley's bond with Newt and Hicks grow in the face of the oppressive prison system, where the inmates are hostile toward them? Ripley would have to protect Newt in addition to fighting off the Xenomorph.
This way, you have three sides to the story: the "average" people represented by Ripley, Newt, and Hicks--the perspective we can view the strange world from--the prison people who have created the harsh conditions and society we cannot understand, and the Xenomorphs, the outer destructive forces that are infiltrating the settings. This balances the tone out between the more humane side with Ripley, Newt, and Hicks, and the oppressive side with the prison. It makes sense in the religious biblical theme the movie was going for, with Ripley as Mario, Newt as the Holy Spirit, and Hicks as Michael.
Hicks would be protective of Ripley from the convicts, but he eventually gets killed off, leaving Ripley to defend herself and Newt. Ripley then finds out about the Xenomorph impregnation. Newt takes a role in the battle, where she can grow from a helpless screaming child to someone like Ripley. Ripley eventually sacrifices herself to the molten pit, and instead of Morse, it is Newt who is the sole survivor of the colony.
Another idea is this post on LV426, which suggests having Newt and Hicks left on the Sulaco while Ripley's cryotube gets infiltrated by the facehugger and gets jettisoned off to Fury 161. This is more of a purist approach to Alien 3. This way, the plot is the same, but without Newt, Hicks, and Bishop's deaths and autopsies. This allows for the series to continue with Newt, Hicks, and Bishop alive separate from Ripley, who had her own arc throughout the trilogy.
Potentially, Alien 4 could have been William Gibson's Alien 3 script. Newt's character should have been headed the series instead of the fanfic-y "cloning" concept, which effectively doomed the series.

Looking for a more high-end version of this bag.
I have this bag and it’s been well loved. I even had to replace the straps because I’ve worn them through. It’s the best shape, size, love the middle pocket. It’s great. I’d love to find the same bag but in a higher end brand. Anyone got any good ideas? Not the LV Neverfull (my husband thinks it looks like it’s bought at Target 🙄) I have the LV Neonoe poppy but it’s not the same obvs.

2024.05.31 20:00 gooisgoo Can anyone identify the celebrities in these paintings? It's driving me nuts...

These paintings are by an artist called Samuel Olayombo, I think he takes photographs of celebrities and paints them in his signature style but simply I can't figure out who the celebrities are... I think there's Michael K. Williams, Little Nas X, and Pharrell but I'm not sure... https://imgur.com/a/can-anyone-identify-people-paintings-xiTgEQw
Bonus points if you can identify the underlying photos! And thanks so much in advance...

Classic Never Goes Away II
A rather dreary, bleary, and all round grim day, but that doesn’t stop a man from exploring the local jaunts and haunts. As such, it was off west to observe a palace and its surrounding grounds.
I happened upon cats, ducks, and fruits mere weeks away from the local market. All in all, it was rather a fun experience.
To make it even better, I thought to build a preppy ensemble in preparation for the winds and rain for your entertainment.
Coat: Polo Ralph Lauren
I simply can’t get enough of madras. Such a classic prep pattern and it was put together with such care by the good folks at Ralph Lauren. For quite some time, I was in two minds about this coat. Do I keep it? Do I sell it? Today was the maiden voyage and I’ve decided it’s a keeper. Even better that it’s 100% Cotton.
Blazer: Ermenegildo Zegna
The Navy blazer is a classic staple. Heck, there’s even a whole subreddit dedicated to it. This example is a travel cloth which is brilliant for summer due to its light weight and ability to bounce back from creasing. Even better that it’s fully canvassed. ‘Twas also a candidate for sale, but I pulled it out, tried it on again, and said, ‘Yeah.’
Funnily enough, the button popped clean off after taking the first photo. I heard it clang on the ground. But not to worry, re-attached with a linen thread and it won’t be going anywhere any time soon. Perhaps I’ll convert all of them to brass in time.
Chinos: Polo Ralph Lauren
The classic Ralph chinos are always a brilliant choice. Wide leg, pleats, thick cotton with a brilliant hang. Just as chinos were meant to be. If you’re searching, keep an eye out for ‘Andrew’ and ‘Suffield’. They’re the best ones, but I don’t think they make them anymore.
Shirt: Eton
Never had much experience with this brand, but I’ve come to the conclusion that their shirts are solid. I wouldn’t pay retail for them, but if you can thrift it, go for it. Seen here in a lovely white, blue, and navy grid. Just some additional visual intrigue.
Vest: Polo Ralph Lauren
Still one of the best in the game when it comes to the art of the vest. Pure cotton here and as such, the moths can dream on.
Tie: Vintage St. Michael
Well, you have to pull it all together with something. Bring in the navy of the blazer, the red of the glasses, the yellow on the vest, and the cream/beige of the trousers.
Watch: Longines Hydroconquest 43mm Automatic Sunray Blue
Love this piece. Can never go wrong with an auto diver. Such a versatile style of sports watch that can fit so many outfits and settings.
Shoes: Crockett & Jones
Keep it English and you won’t regret it, but if you stray then I’ll have to say, ‘Nay!’ Single monk. Supremely comfortable and versatile. So easy to dress up or down.
Socks: Pantherella
Knee high, boyo. As it should be. Socks falling down? Never me.
Glasses: Cubitts
Love this brand. Pretty funky, pretty 70s, pretty cool. Acetate frames as they were meant to be.
Hat: Bates
Can’t go wrong with a black and white houndstooth in pure wool. Kept the noggin warm as the wind and rain came with a fury at various points of the day.
And after all that, what else can I say? Simply put: Classic Never Goes Away

Which watch is better 🔥
Kabhi socha hai ki watch brands apne movements ka calibre, make aur specifications ko chupate kyun hain? Unka kya reason ho sakta hai clarity provide na karne ka?
Photo mein jo watch hai woh Michael Kors Jetmaster hai (sub 20k price tag) aur likha hai 'Japanese Movement'.. Bas itna hi..
Ek chhota hint: Bhai, agar woh movement ke baare mein bata denge toh phir tum unse puchoge na ki itni average movement ke liye itna kyun charge kar rahe ho?

2024.05.31 15:48 JohnMarshallTanner The Source of that Hellish passage in SUTTREE,

Someone here posted a photo of that hellish passage from SUTTREE - Source of Witches Everywhere
"Suttree heard laughter and the sounds of carnival. He saw with a madman's clarity the perishability of his flesh. Illbedowered harlots were calling from small porches in the night, in their gaudy rags like dolls panoplied out of a dirty dream. And along the little ways in the rain and lightning came a troupe of squalid merrymakers bearing a caged wyvern on shoulderpoles and other alchemical game, chimeras and cacodemons skewered up on boarspears and a pharmacopoeia of hellish condiments adorning a trestle and toted by trolls with an eldern gnome for fuidern. . .A mesosaur followed above on a string like a fourlegged garfish heliumfilled.."
Michael Lynn Crews, in BOOKS ARE MADE OUT OF BOOKS, deconstructs this passage, showing its sources in Foucault's MADNESS AND CIVILIZATION, using Peter Brueghel the Elder's 1564 painting Dullle Griet, a painting mentioned by Foucault in the same section of the bookfrom which McCarthy has taken other quotations, "a throng of monstrous creatures, spawn of atavistic fears that haunt the mental underworld."
Crews notes that, in the archives, McCarthy wrote the word "Comanches" next to the first of Foucault's quotations, showing that he was thinking about the description of the Comanche attack in BLOOD MERIDIAN, as well as forerunning his description of the macabre carnivallesque in other passages. including the source of the furies in OUTER DARK, and the Thalidomide Kid and his cohorts in THE PASSENGESTELLA MARIS.
And the source, for both Foucault and McCarthy, as I previously pointed out in the old McCarthy forum to the jeers of the naysayers, is that metaphor in Plato. The monsters are all of those candied addictions and minxish compulsions, like Flotsam and Jetsam to the Sea Witch, Mother She.

2024.05.31 12:38 A-J-Zan A world more alive - prologue

Hello, this is a repost of the post I made for worldbuilding under different title. For now it;s more of alt. history thing, but more spec. ev. stuff I might show later if there's gonna be the interest.
***
It all started rather innocently. Took some time, but still accelerated like humanity’s ingenuity in the last few centuries.
Around the year 2000 people who ventured deep into forests, or just solitary areas of parks in their neighborhood, started to hear strange, moaning sounds coming seemingly out of nowhere. Those moans didn’t sound like anything any living creature could make.
At the same time more sensitive people walking alone through woods started getting a very strong, unexplainable feeling of being watched from every side by an army of predators, even if it wasn’t possible.
It was happening all around the world and so sporadically that at the beginning it wasn’t recognised as a global phenomenon. Local communities explained it away as a witness’ mental problems, mind tricks or tall tales.
There were also other, physical events that were odd, but easily ignored. Some roads, for example, that were fine for years or were freshly built, or renovated, seemingly overnight were becoming uneven, thanks to the roots of nearby trees trying to pop out. It wasn’t just roads. Bumps started to show up in immaculate gardens or underneath floors on ground or basement level. On rare occasions those bumps after a while could disappear on their own.
Things became more serious, however, by the year 2005, when tremors started to be noted in areas where they wouldn’t be possible. Scientists found out their epicenters were located in heavily wooded areas. Further research revealed that the roots of trees from the same places had changed. They were longer and thicker than it was usual for their species.
Years went by and the Internet became more mainstream. Forums, message boards and early social media were full of strange, creepy and seemingly true stories related to forests or just trees in general from all around the world. TV and press too, which didn’t help at all.
Widespread were photos of extremely deformed roads and train tracks or recordings of strange wailing deep in the woods during the day. There were also sightings of something that looked like giant snakes in woods that wouldn’t be their natural habitat. In some places they gave birth to local urban legends. Many ventured out looking for all those creatures for the sake of fame and fortune. Not all of them returned.
Reports from the authorities were published, both officially and leaked, of what was found in the woods. Most notably in epicenters of strange earthquakes that were worryingly becoming stronger and more frequent.
In 2007 the illegal woodcutting operation was leveled in the Amazon jungle, killing all people on site. The same thing happened to a doomsday cult’s secret settlement in Japan, a meth lab in Alaska’s Tongass National Forest, a small village in India, a poachers' camp in Kenya and a popular mountain hostel on Poland’s side of the Giant Mountains. All that was not even the tip of an iceberg.
On the more morbid and edgier side of the Internet fans of the macabre really liked to share photos of corpses of both humans and animals in various states of decay, entangled in uncovered roots. Leaked autopsy records were suggesting the victims either died from suffocation, starvation, exposure to the elements or crushed bones. It was like all of those humans and wildlife somehow got stuck between the roots and couldn’t get out.
By 2010 there were several web pages dedicated specifically to collect, archive, analyze and discuss all of this strange tree-related phenomena from all around the world. Many tried to find the most logical, biologically possible answers, but an equal if not larger amount of people started to spread the rumor that maybe trees somehow and for some reason were becoming more sentient.
Soon both the Internet and public media were full of rumors. Some jumped on the bandwagon, creating fake stories, photos and recordings. Companies were using themes of living trees in their advertisements. Even environmentalists tried to capitalize on this new “trend” to spread their message. Their notion that it was nature’s counter attack against humanity’s greed was at the beginning met with lukewarm reception, but got better over time.
The most vocal was one particular French man known by his Internet username as Lorax. He was spreading the idea that all of the trees around the world had a collective hive mind. According to him, they were using something described as a metaphysical network of invisible roots connecting every tree on Earth. Many laughed at such ridiculous idea, but with more and more worrying news reports coming out almost daily, Lorax’s belief got new supporters.
Noteworthy was the first ever caught on video moment when a root rose from the ground in a Brazilian family home’s garden in 2016. Also viral went clips of trees moving their branches despite there seemingly not being any wind. The most convincing was one IRL live stream from a person visiting a fair in Germany during the summer of 2018. They as well as dozens of fair goers spotted that just one of the oaks at the edge of nearby forest started shaking violently. Chaos ensued not just at the fair but soon around the world, too.
People were finding entire bird nests (some with eggs) seemingly thrown out of the branches. Lumberjacks reported trees fighting back by swinging their branches and roaring like the beasts.
Due to earthquakes caused by moving masses of roots, by the year 2020 human settlements in close proximity to forests and parks became uninhabitable. People were moving deep into big cities, deserts or anywhere far away from wooded areas.
World’s governments were hard at work trying to keep both this new unexpected threat and mass panic caused by it under control. Similarly researchers were doing everything to figure out what really caused such changes and behavior from trees, of all things. They figured out only the broad-leaved and coniferous trees became aggressive. Palms and smaller bushes weren’t showing any signs so far. Other than that they didn’t find anything certain as to the origin. Given the old age of some trees that showed violent behavior, they deduced all the necessary genes were already there and just in recents years they must have been activated. As for the future, it looked like it wouldn’t stop, possibly ever.
Discussions about what to do were heated to say the least. Some decided to destroy those monsters, others reminded them that, even if trees are aggressive, they’re still Earth’s green lungs and without them humanity would die anyway. Those believing it was a punishment for humanity’s sins were reminded that wild fauna that lived peacefully deep in the woods had been attacked by trees as well. At the same time Lorax’s theory about green hive mind grew so much it transformed into a wide spread cult with him as the guru and leader. Around 2035 their actions turned ecoterroristic as they believed trees were the rightful rulers of Earth and all animals, including people, were meant to be their lowly servants and worshippers. Anyone who thought differently was meant to be eliminated.
Lorax, who was proclaiming he was “speaking for the trees”, only got reassured in rightfulness of his claims, when in 2041 the first trees moving around on their own had been spotted in Poland. It was a small group of 4 birch trees moving across a desolated field. They used their elongated roots the same way as octopus would its tentacles to walk on land, dragging their heavy leafy crowns behind.
