First and foremost, I should explain I am a terrible sleeper to begin with. I am easily awoken by all sounds, light, etc. I had a really bad bout of insomnia for several months at one point and was put on Ambien, but I did not like some of the side effects and I would really like to avoid going back to that. At some point my ex-husband and I started sleeping in different rooms because just him coming to bed would wake me up. This brings me to my first point: I must have my white noise machine on, as it helps block out other small noises (ie my cats, people walking by outside, and so on).
Now, my white noise machine is small and fairly portable. I have friends who snore pretty bad but when I go on vacation with them I take these super soft ear buds that plug into the machine, and I just sleep with it in the bed. It's not the best sleep, as it may sometimes hurt my ear and whenever I need to roll over I physically wake up to do so and have to move the machine to the opposite side of the pillow. But it does well for just a handful of nights of kinda bleh sleep vs no sleep at all.
As for my current situation: my now boyfriend snores, and fairly badly if he is on his back. Some nights I can just prod him and ask him to roll over and he will, and we can just go back to sleep. He falls back asleep immediately and I take a while. But some nights he very quickly ends up on his back again. According to him, this is his favorite position to sleep in.
I do sleep with the white noise when he is there, he is cool with it. However, like I said it only blocks out small noises and not loud snoring. Sleeping with the ear buds in every night is not feasible due to above mentioned reasons. I also don't like having to ask him to roll over all the time because it's not fair to him either.
For the record, I can't sleep with music or the TV on, nor can I do earplugs (I end up keeping myself awake because I can hear my own breathing too loud.) I don't sleep well on the couch and only go out there on the worst nights, and he says he always feels sad when he wakes up and realizes he was keeping me up enough to move to the couch. I do not have an extra room. We currently don't live together technically but the reality is he is here 5-6 nights a week, and on occasion I stay at his place too. On the nights where we are each are at our respective homes, I feel lonely that he isn't there (and he agreed that he feels the same).
I am at a loss as what to do, I have been up all night and finally coming to reddit out of desperation. Is there something else I can try that I haven't listed above?
Side note: I know I have anxiety, and that can keep me up. The anxiety itself only gets bad when I am alone, and my brain spirals.

Going into childbirth, I (thought) I was prepared for everything, but I realized I had not prepared myself for a possible unplanned c section. I had looked up all the tips and tricks for vaginal birth but I wish I had prepared myself more for the possibility of a c section.
My due date was 5/9, and during my 40w appt, my cervix was still quite hard and barely dilated even 1cm. I was scheduled an oral induction on 5/11. I went into L&D, got the induction. pill, was monitored for an hour then sent home to see if anything happened. I went about my day as normal, got some very small contractions but nothing close enough to go back to the hospital. The next day, I went back to get checked again and got yet another pill, another hour of monitoring and then sent home again. I was so impatient at this point šŖ. I really thought Iād have my baby by then - it was 5/12 and Motherās Day and thought my baby was just waiting for that day, lol.
Again, nothing happened. We went back the next morning and this time was just fully admitted into my delivery room. I had only dilated 2cm at this point and my cervix was barely softening. So they gave my the inserted induction pill this time and I sat in bed waiting. About 4-6 hours later, I was progressing a little bit but still not enough, so they chose to do a Cookās catheter plus a foley ballon. Wowee those were uncomfortable to feel being put in. After this, I started dilating to about 5cm but my water hadnāt broken yet. A couple hours later, they chose to break my water for me and had me on the peanut ball to keep my progress going. By around 8-9pm, they gave me pitocin through IV, then the contractions really started kicking in. Those contractions were so hard to breathe through but I managed a few hours until I asked for some morphine so I could get some sleep. I got about 3-4 hours of sleep until it wore off and I awoke with such pain from the contractions again. The nurse gave me more morphine but it wasnāt doing anything at this point so I asked for the epidural. It was 5am at 5/14 at this point (also my birthdayš„³).
Epidural was much easier than I anticipated. The hardest part was staying still and hunched over while I was still actively getting contractions about a minute apart. I finally got numb and got more sleep. I woke up and in the late morning/earlt afternoon I had progressed to about 6cm. I got up to 7cm with that dang peanut ball still between my legs until the later afternoon then I started getting a fever, so they gave me some Tylenol. By 8pm, I started getting the labor shakes, uncontrollably shaking and could barely speak. At this point, my midwife looked at me in the eyes and said that this was going on for too long and that it would be best to try and get a c section since I had stopped dilating at 7cm, and babyās head was looking up, making it harder for her to drop and would be harder for me to push out. My husband and I talked it over and with a lot of tears, I finally said yes and they prepped me for surgery.
I get into the surgery room and they start prepping me and draping me, etc. Right before my husband comes in, i start to feel super hot and flush; I managed to flag down a nurse and told her i was feeling really hot and itchy in my face. Turns out I was having an allergic reaction. My husband walks in and i can immediately see in his face that I looked unwell. He talked to the anesthesiologist and he ensured him if be better as soon as I got Benadryl, but it would make me drowsy. I was in and out of consciousness after this and everything felt so hazy. Fast forward to today, Iām almost 3 weeks PP and baby is healthy and so am I, but damn I really never expected my birth to be so traumatic and so long. I've been using both of these for a few weeks now, so here are some further thoughts.
It doesn't seem like the Flair Pro 2 takes that much more coffee by weight than the Coffeejack. Sure it takes a bit more of a dose, but not by that much. Close inspection of the Coffeejack puck after pulling a shot suggests to me that water isn't filtering through the puck evenly at the top. It looks as if most of the flow is going down and around the sides of the puck rather than through it. This would explain why shots are weaker than I would expect. I'm not sure why this is the case. I suspect the basket design is flawed somehow and so it's easier for water to flow around the edges of the basket than through the puck. Strange.
The Coffeejack also "cheats" by using one of these valves at the bottom of the "portafilter" to restrict flow and increase pressure. Some people suggest removing this value. I probably agree. If you leave the valve in place it's very easy to end up in a situation where you can't get any flow at all, because the overpressure valve in the main body of the unit releases at a lower pressure than the pressure required to obtain flow through the portafilter.
To understand why this is the case, consider that the valve in the bottom of the portafilter requires X amount of pressure for coffee to flow through it. The puck itself requires Y amount of pressure. So if X + Y < Z, where Z is the pressure threshold of the pressure release valve, then you won't get any flow. (Disassemble your unit to find the black overpressure valve. It's hidden beneath the silver mesh screen at the bottom of the glass water container.)
Some versions of Flairs also have this restriction valve feature. I don't think units like this make very good coffee. Your grind size should be what creates pressure. It's easy to buy coffee with the right grind size, if you don't have a grinder. People can become excessively obsessive about grind size. It doesn't matter that much, as long as the grind is fine enough to create some pressure when pulling a shot, it's ok. A very large grind obviously will not work. The same is true for a grind which is extremely fine, because it will restrict the flow completely. But you can't buy coffee with a grind that fine anyway.
The Coffeejack will remain wet internally for weeks. There's no way to dry it out inside without disassembling it.
The problem with the Coffeejack is it's extremely hard to apply enough pressure without releasing the over-pressure valve. This makes it frustrating to use, and in one of my previous posts I explained why doing this too many times might break it completely resulting in your having to re-assemble it to fix it.

Burning your hands

Easy of use

I just finished rewatching EA S2 and I had forgotten that they had lost the escape room challenge. Now Iām wondering what will happen in the seasons to come.
I think it has potential to become another NJTW. I was reading another thread somewhere and a commenter mentioned that the repetitiveness of NJTW is why it got boring (going to a random country and getting the dragon balls and all of that jazz). While I enjoyed all of the seasons of NJTW and even the spin offs, I do agree that it did get a bit stale. In comparison, EA feels like a breath of fresh air.
I donāt want that to happen to EA because I think we need more women led variety shows and while I like Kang Hodong (to an extent), his character is a bit stale. The relationships in EA feel more natural and although they have traits that repeat obviously,
it doesnāt feel like a bit. Itās just who they are as people.
So Iām thinking that next season will open with them having to do a part time job (hopefully this takes up an episode max) They work and then Torong will make mess of things and blame it on them. This will lead to the Jade Emperor basically telling them that if you donāt catch Torong then youāll have get whatever penalty. This will lead to them having to go another country to catch Torong.
I think this will give it a bit of a boost. They can also get someone to play the Jade Emperor and use that to make his character more popular. Maybe they could rent a rice cake shop for a day and say itās a branch store of the one of the moon and the girls will have to work.
Iām going to organize this post later. Anyways, what do you guys think?

Now I normally donāt get affected toooo badly by triggering TikTokās because Iām usually good at putting things in perspective but this GAGGED me so hard. Warning for those easily affected by these things, this kind of sent me spiralling but after chatting to my friends about it I feel so much better.
So thereās this Irish TikToker who recently made a story time series about her ex who cheated on her a few years ago thatās after going really viral in Ireland. I watched it, it was juicy and entertaining and it didnāt make me worry about my own relationship or anything like that. After she finished the story time videos she made a follow up that was like āred flags from during the relationshipā and this is where things got stressful.
She started describing how towards the end of lockdown/ during covid times she all of a sudden started getting this dreadful feeling that she had to break up with her boyfriend and that she didnāt love him any more even though she knew that wasnāt true. She said these thoughts stressed her out to the point where she was having breakdowns crying every day and this went on for weeks and weeks. She was so anxious she couldnāt eat and was losing weight and couldnāt function in her life because of these thoughts. Then, she went to the doctor and a therapist and was prescribed anti anxiety medication and the therapist told her it sounded like she was experiencing ocd.
But in the next breath this girl literally goes (im paraphrasing) ānow that things have ended with my ex cheating on me I know that these feelings were 100% valid and that my gut was right telling me something was wrong the whole time.ā

I nearly couldnāt breathe, like what the fuck?? This girl was describing my EXACT experience with ocd down to the timing of when it all started happening, it was literally like hearing someone describe thoughts from my own brain, and then telling me that all of it was real and you have to listen to your gut?????? Hell nah!
And the COMMENTS were even worse, āwhen you know you knowā āwomanās intuitionā etc etc not a single person referencing the fact that this girl had been told by a therapist that this was ocd related.
Iām feeling better now because I know, practically, so many relationships end for various reasons- in fact, more relationships end than are successful. So having ROCD and the relationship ending arenāt necessarily correlated. Even in the case of this girl, she stressed the fact that the relationship was so āperfectā and enjoyable literally up until he cheated, I think a year after this anxiety started.
But yeah that was kind of a kick to the stomach yesterday lol. It was literally the absolute worst TikTok I couldāve seen while being tired and hungry after spending all day travelling. But regardless I donāt need to worry, just because one girl had ROCD and got cheated on a year later doesnāt mean the same thing will happen to me etc etc.

A Different Game:
I'm not sure if I can explain this. I don't think that I totally understand it myself, but that's ok.
Long term fasting isn't about food, but you already knew that or you wouldn't be attempting a long fast.
This may not pertain to everyone that does a long fast. Maybe it won't pertain to any of them.
You may not know who I am, or of my situation. That's ok. I'm just some guy in a sub-reddit.
For me the battle is more important than the weightloss. Fasting can tear you down right to the core. It can lay you open and expose vulnerabilities that you didn't know you had.
That can be a good thing if you are ready for it. When you've faced something that stripes you down, you only have two ways to go. You either stay broken or you rebuild a new you.
Fasting isn't a team sport. The rebuilding process is a solo journey. You will face family and friends that mean well. You will face people on reddit that have watched a few videos of someone that thinks they know about fasting.
The fact is that after your first long fast, you have experience, they have hearsay.
Repeating what somebody else said about something that very few people have experienced is easy. There are way to many armchair quarterbacks.
For all intents and purposes they are standing on the sidewalk watching the parade go by.
We need to respect those people. They believe what they are saying. They don't mean to drag you down. They just don't understand that the game we are playing is nothing like the game they are playing.
Respecting them doesn't mean letting their opinions effect you. We leave their words to them. We step outside of their world.

On one fast, I was on day 56. My mind was done. I didn't think I had anything left in the gas tank, but I've faced things in life that totally wiped me out. I knew there is always just a little more left if we reach deep.
I held on. My mind was screaming. I couldn't hear anything but, "give in, it's over"
I dug deep. I went to my room. I just wanted to go to bed. I climbed on my bed. I couldn't climb under the covers. That would take too much external energy. I knelt on my bed. I rocked back and forth for three hours. I was sobbing uncontrollably. My body was shaking from the depth of those sobbs.
I made it. The tears ended. The rocking ended. I collapsed on my bed and slept for hours.
I faced one of the hardest challenges in my 55 years on this planet.
That victory is mine. Nobody can take it from me. Believe it or not several people from this fasting community tried. They told me that I was lying. They said I got lucky because I didn't die. They said I would cause someone to take their last breath.
I didn't care what they said, and I don't care now. The victory is mine. Any time I struggle I look back on that morning. I remember the intensity. I fought so hard, and I won. What challenge can I face in the future that could compare. The answer is, nothing. Nothing I will face can hold a candle to that day.

A Different Game:
I'm not sure if I can explain this. I don't think that I totally understand it myself, but that's ok.
Long term fasting isn't about food, but you already knew that or you wouldn't be attempting a long fast.
This may not pertain to everyone that does a long fast. Maybe it won't pertain to any of them.
You may not know who I am, or of my situation. That's ok. I'm just some guy in a sub-reddit.
For me the battle is more important than the weightloss. Fasting can tear you down right to the core. It can lay you open and expose vulnerabilities that you didn't know you had.
That can be a good thing if you are ready for it. When you've faced something that stripes you down, you only have two ways to go. You either stay broken or you rebuild a new you.
Fasting isn't a team sport. The rebuilding process is a solo journey. You will face family and friends that mean well. You will face people on reddit that have watched a few videos of someone that thinks they know about fasting.
The fact is that after your first long fast, you have experience, they have hearsay.
Repeating what somebody else said about something that very few people have experienced is easy. There are way to many armchair quarterbacks.
For all intents and purposes they are standing on the sidewalk watching the parade go by.
We need to respect those people. They believe what they are saying. They don't mean to drag you down. They just don't understand that the game we are playing is nothing like the game they are playing.

This will add to the desire to get rid of it and to go down as you see that you can be stronger without the substance. -Prayer and Dua (Supplication) trust in Allah but use logic and common sense. -Meditation -Yoga -moderate excercise -breathing excercises etc.
- Surround yourself with understanding and positive people. Negativity is your enemy in your process of healing. Learn to cultivate positivity and let go of people whose words or actions harm your soul.
- If withdrawal is to harsh but still managable (no medical issues) stay on that dose for a longer time until you feel ready to go down for a bit more. Your body will adapt in shaa Allah.
- Don't listen to anyone suggesting to quit suddenly. Most of them have no knowledge of medicine or maybe even their deen.
- Understand that every body is different. Your biochemistry is different than that from another person. Listen to your body. Go at a pace that is in harmony with your system.
- Don't read the horror-stories online. They just make you paranoid and make everything that would be easy otherwise, hard.

I am currently 21 so it started when I was pretty young. My mobility is affected because I find it hard to walk? but in the sense when I stand up, I naturally clench my bum and it feels like my lower spine is digging in me? Attached above is my recent MRI scan and I wanted to ask how do I combat this problem? I think this has happened because I am young so I haven't spent much time standing and doing stuff compared to if this problem started when I was 25 at least I would've had more time walking, having good posture etc? so I feel like age contributed to the problem a lot. How does one even explain that when standing I feel like my spine is pushing in, when I walk I feel it get agitated/inflamed? iām a 19 (almost 20) y/o F, i weigh 106 and im 5ā1.
i like to start off by saying i have anxiety (mainly health anxiety) and tachycardia (due to anxiety probably) so this could just be a misunderstanding.
but as of now i feel bloated, like a balloon. i feel like i need to burp but i cant. i feel like i cant take a full proper breath. my middle/upper back hurts, (my spine is slightly curved to the right so maybe thats why, but i think thats lower) under my left breast feels uncomfortable and my left arm near my armpit feels odd (basically lots of slight pressure) i have a weird sensation in my left arm and hand, kind of like a numbness but not at the same time. the left side of my face (cheek/jaw and ear area) feels weird and my throat feels like thereās a lot of mucus clogging it. everytime i lay down after awhile i feel like i get out of breath and my heart spikes up. i have a cheap heart watch on but it said it went up to about 113, (i constantly check my heart rate and blood oxygen.) as of now its in the mid 80s, but its going up still. anyway, iāve been feeling very imbalanced lately, like the floor is moving, not standing on solid d ground. iāve been feeling dizzy and very fake, like derealization. and itās super scary considering i feel like iām not in my head / body most of the time. maybe this is because my iron is mildly low (55) and iāve been staying up until 7am and waking up at 4pm and havenāt been eating right, constantly have stomach pain. but in my mind all this stress, bad sleeping habits and and eating habits could lead to a heart attack. my episodes usually start at night when i want to go to sleep. itās scary. i always have a feeling that once i fall asleep i wont wake up which keeps me up at night. i usually fall asleep once my boyfriend wakes up because i like the feeling of being monitored i guess, its comforting to know that someone is there just in case.
but are these signs of a possible cardiac arrest or heart attack or is it just anxiety ? iām trying to avoid going to the ER since i went 11 times JUST in may and had multiple CT scans and x-rays done and everything seems to be fine (except my $2k hospital bill) my mom always told me growing up that stress can kill you and that information stresses me out more every time iām stressed and lately iāve been constantly stressed.

I had a really bad night 2 nights in a row now. The first night day before last I woke up to something growling at me it was really close to my face and I felt like it was snorting puffing or breathing in my face. So yesterday was really bad all day. I had one break down after the other in full ugly cry mode. Last night I was praying before I was gonna go to bed and I was reading out loud alot of psalms and then after I was going to pray. As I was reading psalms I started to cry and tell the lord how sorry I was for these self harm thoughts and being upset by the women in this building I'm always smiling and saying hi and yesterday one of looked at me with such hatred and disgust I couldn't understand what I did. I can't even be friendly around this building because I'm different and they just don't like me. I'm a girly woman I always have been but I think they think that I'm thinking I'm better or what ever. So last night I dreamed all night I was running from something I'm not sure what but I woke up because my heart was pounding and I was shaking all over then I fell back asleep and it keeps happening all night and then I was in this life a basement with these huge plastic cages with animals and I literally hear a high pitch scream but it wasn't in my dream it was rt beside me and my ear like I could touch it with was really close. My past I messed with new age things I have now renounced and thrown away any items from my house. Is it to late for me? Are you sure God hasn't forsaken me?  | I know the first advice is always to go to a vet, please know weāre less than 2 weeks out from her last appointment - itās also a holiday weekend so we wonāt be able to get to the vet until Tuesday (weāre about an hour away from the nearest). We recently moved and she got a head cold and the they gave her antibiotics/steroid injection. Said if she got any worse over the next 2 weeks they could give her a second dose. The head cold is cleared up. It was about 4-5hrs after her dinner and happened again the next night. There were no lingering effects nor any other symptoms. I changed the feedings to equal portions so less in the evening and this hasnāt occurred again the last few nights since the adjustment. The cats are fed 3x a day, weighed portions(I was feeding a bit more at night to try and get sleep until 7am, it only sort of worked anyway so now all 3 feeds are the same size). She has been adjusting to the new apartment so pacing and yowling isnāt that out of place, but yesterday it ramped up to near constant - when I went to bed she was crying a little bit I hoped she would settle with me or go back to the couch with my husband. Instead, about ten minutes after I turned the lights out she peed on my laundry! Itās on the floor because the basket had been soiled last week while she was sick, but very little moisture I could just smell it. I also have 2 cats so wasnāt 100% sure she did it the first time (like 90% tho, sheās done this in the past and our kitten is pretty fastidious haha). There have also been a couple of very small spots of mild urine(hardly even a smell, just stained) on her favourite chair since the injection, I thought maybe because of the steroid and her advanced age that she just had an accident because sheās sleeping in that chair in the sun for the better part of most days and never wants to leave while the sun is shiningā¦ But the peeing paired with the new assholery is worrying me. My husband just thinks sheās acting up. The cat who cries wolf, because every time she acts up and we go to the vet they find very little wrong with her (she has had maybe 2 utiās in her life, and they think she might have mild arthritis in her back legs/hips but sheās still a VERY active/playful/social cat so they arenāt concerned with that much). She hates our 10mos old kitten, and he does harass her a bit but sheās mean even if heās just trying to check in with her or nuzzle her - he really wants her to love him but heās also a playful giant menace sometimes. The litterboxes are clean and easily accessible, they have a cat fountain and drink regularly, and the food & feeding routine although newish(itās actually mostly wet food now which she wouldnāt even eat until about 2yrs ago) has been actually really good for the last month. Her coat is shinier and she stopped overgrooming so there is no longer a bald spot above her tail! All this to say Iām kind of at my wits end and donāt know what else to do. I feel so suffocated. I try so hard to get close to my dad and do well, but he always finds a way to put me down.

I'm 15 (I probably shouldn't even be using redd it but here I am) and I already feel like my ability to practice and learn new skills is gone, and that I have 0 self-discipline. I LOVE violin and I know a few songs, but I want to get better, but I haven't picked it up in a month. I want to be better at reading sheet music but I never take the time to. I love my tarantulas but I just forget to feed them (they can go months without food but they get a couple crickets often enough, in short, they are not starving I promise). I love drawing and animating but I just feel like I don't commit enough time to it to get better. I don't hate the way I look, but I could be in much better shape, I eat plenty, perhaps too much, and i tend to eat late at night, and I know how to eat healthier and what to eat, my parents researched for HOURS on healthy habits and whatnot, but I just don't follow any of that. I want so badly to just simply do a workout or something or anything, but I can never bring myself to do it. I know there are plenty of things I can do at home, we even have a few dumbbells and a squat machine thing, there is a gym where I live that gives free memberships to students over the summer, which I'm signed up for (I basically never have a ride to get there though) I just never do any of the things I say I'm going to do. I don't know why I can't just do things. I'm pretty positive that I'm not depressed, i mean ya I have some inner turmoil, but who doesn't? I have a stable life, my parents are loving and supportive. I feel like I'm basically throwing that away and taking it for granted and I have no self-control or discipline. I set myself up for success tonight when I was going to put at LEAST a few frames of a short little dragon animation I was gonna make, I tried to organize my idea, sketch a concept so I at least know what I'm going for, do some warmup drawings, I even made some earl grey to keep me awake without being too damaging as a cup of coffee, I had a little snack with me, I had my decent swivel chair, had the lights on, no music since I wasn't really in the mood for it, killed the two flies that were bothering me... I sketched 2 very scrappy people with little to no detail, they look like abstract shapes, and a super simple dragon, then stopped because I just couldn't keep going. I just don't understand. I set myself up for success, for something that really isn't that hard, and ultimately didn't accomplish my goal that I was going for. I find my drawing skills at night far exceed what I can draw I the daytime. I've done some research, and in some cases, people are more productive at night. Ive drawn some pretty cool things at 2 am compared to the interesting scribbles I've created at 2pm. I wasn't even that tired when I stopped for tonight. I'm barely tired right now and it's 3am. All I did today was play video games at a friends house for about 5 hours (which is normal for me...) and played a little more when I got home, then watched a movie with my dad. I'm just don't know how to fix my problem. I just can't control my habits and I have so little self-discipline that I say "one more cookie won't hurt" too often.

The first thing Iām able to see is the monsterās flat, booted feet, followed by a pair of long thick legs, then a chest and left arm covered in a loose fitting, buttoned shirt, patterned with vertical and horizontal lines.
The red fabric of his top disguises the bloodstain from the wound he got from Flynn, just below his shoulder. However, the nauseatingly metallic smell of it absolutely fills my nostrils!
The final thing to be revealed, as my feet hang more than [a metre] from the ground, is a faceā¦ the scarred skin a pale beige, the white, calcite teeth bared in a furious grimace, copper coloured eyebrows tilted downward in the middle over a nose, wrinkled with anger, and emerald eyes, burning with rage!
His shoulders rise and fall, in time with panted breaths he sucks in and out through his gritted teeth, putting me less in mind of a person (or even an animal) catching their breath after exertion and more in mind of some hulking piece of machinery from the Steam Age venting its pressure!
The Terran extends his pallid skinned, long fingered, furless, pentadactyl left hand to me, stained with the ferrous blood thatās run down his sleeve, and growls āSample!ā

He holds up the tube, in which is visible a small plant with a rosette of frilly black leaves and through which can be seen a frozen impression of the room it was in when it was stasised, demanding āYouāre really willinā to die for this!? My girlfriend (F19) and I (M18) have been together for almost a year and a half, and she has made continuous mistakes that have crossed boundaries and make me question if our relationship is even real.
I don't know if this has any relevance, but my girlfriend has BPD, and has been screwed over in her past relationships. And the first two or three months throughout our relationship, she was extremely cold towards me. Like it seemed like she hated my guts, but around 5-6 months in, she got obsessed with me, needed to know my every move, always talking about how handsome I am, and saying how she'd probably kill herself if we broke up. The issues in our relationship start here:
It started around the first month or two in our relationship, when she pulls up her phone to text her mum, I see in her recent messages her ex is there. She loved this ex so much, and when she found out he cheated on her (which led to their breakup), she was placed under heavy medication, and sent to a psych ward. I confronted her over the situation a few hours later over iMessages, telling her that I found how she didn't tell me that her ex and her were talking, and how it was disrespectful to our relationship. She tells me that she thought I wouldn't want to know, and that it would've ruined the mood. She began to tell me what the messages said, NOT SHOW ME, tell me. She said that the ex had her on a sort of blackmail leash, threatening to leak her private pictures (she never told me what the terms of the blackmail was), and also that the ex was going through a lot, as he and his current girlfriend are taking heavy drugs, and he needed someone to spit out his problems to. She never showed me the actual messages, only telling me what the messages supposedly said.
I don't know if she was lying to me or not, but she deleted the messages, blocked him, and from what I know never talked to him again. But this was the beginning of this distrust, the only way I could believe her, was by taking her word. There were no messages for me to read and verify with my own eyes, I just had to take her word that nothing was happening. I was immature and unable to stand up for myself, so I let the conversation just go her way, and it was shut down within 15 text messages.
Around two months into our relationship, she is moving schools as she has more friends at the other school in her local area, and to finish year 12 in a more professional environment. She goes to one more party that her old school is throwing, to say goodbye to everyone. I wasn't able to attend this party, but I told her to just go on her own. She meets a guy there, and they hit it off. She's texting me and calling me throughout this whole party, and gets me to say hi to this person. I don't mind it, because I just figured she made a new friend. This guy likes all the same things as her, and likes the same music she does. (She's huge into metal / numetal bands.) Suddenly, she stops responding to my messages, calls etc, for around two hours.
When she gets home from the party, she tells me that her phone died, and I ask her how the party went. She tells me that a different girl really liked the guy she was hitting it off with, and how the guy was trying to make the girl jealous, by talking to my girlfriend. My girlfriend tells the guy that she's gonna go on a walk, and the guy follows her. They apparently go to a secluded cliffside, and just talk. She tells me that she had to clear up the air to some people that they did not do the deed, and they were just talking. I tell her how wrong that was of her, and how he most likely had other intentions, especially if hes trying to make another girl jealous. I tell her that boundaries were crossed, and she just tells me to do whatever I want (breakup or stay together). I stay, and she tells me the boundary was set, and if I don't believe her, I can ask the guy himself, or I can ask her girl bestfriend.
I thought the girl bestfriend thing was bizarre, as she said it was just my girlfriend and the guy at the cliffside. There is no way that her girl bestfriend wouldve known, unless my girlfriend specifically told her what happened. Could be a stretch, I dunno.
Once again, another thing that I just have to take her word for. There's nothing I can do to get her to prove to me that nothing happened at that cliffside,
This is where things get a bit murky. Around 9 months into our relationship, my girlfriend meets a guy at her new school, lets call him Fred. Her and Fred become good close friends. This was about the stage in me and my girlfriends relationship where she becomes obsessive with me. She asks me if her and Fred can go over to Fred's house, to smoke some weed. I didn't really mind, so I said sure. This became a daily thing. Her and Fred would go to Freds house almost every day, or at least 4 times a week to smoke weed. Fred would start sending her reels, but she wouldn't send any back. The reels started becoming a bit more weird, or lovey dovey, stuff like "You're either frolicking in this field with or without me".
She'd start sending me voice messages of them having a good time, sending photos of them hanging out, and then when she'd come home from school, she'd tell me all about how Fred said the funniest thing today, how funny he is, how they have inside jokes etc. Fred begins to start asking her to play Minecraft with her. At this point, I talk to her about this. I tell her that I understand that I said it was okay for her to go over to Fred's house, but I'm asking that her and Fred stop hanging out together alone. She tells me that I should've told her sooner, and we both apologised to one another.
I apologised for my miscommunication or lack of communication, and she apologised for crossing another boundary. Things were good between us, she'd stopped hanging out with Fred completely, and our relationship was more intimate then ever. A few weeks after Fred's silence, he asks my girlfriend to go to his party, and my girlfriend is wanting to go. I tell her that I'm uncomfortable with it, and I'd rather she not went, and then she got furious with me, and everyone around her. She was at work during this conversation, but then she locked herself in the staff bathroom, and cried in there for the remainder of her shift. Her friend, who also works at the same place she does, told me about the whole situation with her locking herself in the bathroom, and just checking up on if shes okay, and if anything happened between us. It was clear to me my girlfriend was growing attached to Fred.
She gives in, and tells Fred that she can't go to his party, in which Fred says: "OK, I'll change the party to next week so you can come." This bothered me so much, it's clear to me that Fred's only intentions of this party was to have some more time my girlfriend, and if anyone else was to of cancelled, no way would he of changed the day of the party for them.
I told my girlfriend there was no way she's going to that party, and it turns into a yelling match. She begins to cry, saying how she's sorry that she made me anxious about Fred, and then she goes into her room to self harm, either as a form of manipulation, or because of her BPD. This self harm leads to me having to apologise to her, and comforting her, instantly ending the conversation we were having because I had to go check on her, and sympathise with her.
A few months pass, and Fred and her are talking again. They're not talking outside of texts, so it's whatever, I'm fine with it, and the texts are always one sided, meaning my girlfriend leaving Fred on seen.
Fred asks my girlfriend if she wants to come over to his, in which she explains the situation, and how shes respecting our boundaries.

 | 33F. Allergic to a lot of things and for the past two weeks have had trouble breathing. Chronic cough for 8 months and shortness of breath, fatigue, coughing up cleawhite phlegm, anxiety, and depression. I guess I figured once I had this pen in my hand Iād know what it is I wanted to say. Because I know itās there. Something heavy. But all I can tell you is itās a feeling. Itās crazy how sometimes we donāt know how to place what we feel inside ourselvesā¦ or why. Itās not until someone mentions or points it out and identifies it for us that we understand. Maybe I just have a heavy heart. It just feelsā¦ misplaced. The feelings to big for my chest. It presses against my rib cage and that hurts. I canāt take a breathe without the fear that it might be my last. My heart feels like it might just stop beatingā¦ out of exhaustionā¦ out of being ripped in half. Sometimes it makes me nauseous and I have to stay real still so I donāt get sick. But I get sick anyway. Iām not quite sure when it will pass, but right now Iām sure Iāll be this way forever. Iām not sure how to even begin to put one foot in front of the other much less, where Iām walking to. I doubt I will be ready to move on anytime soon. I have no idea how that part came so easily for you. And while Iām happy your not as heartbroken as I seem to be, thinking you have opened your heart to someone new so soon after losing me hurts even more. Maybe even the most. Damn. Itās as if someone is pouring acid in my chest. It makes me dizzy. Like the world is spinning in both directionsā¦. I think I might get sick again. Wish I knew how to just make it stopā¦only for a moment. Long enough to catch my breathe. To catch you. But itās only just begun so I just hang onā¦. The worst part is I can never tell you any of this. Youāre not around for me to run to anymore. For you to comfort me and tell me to stop crying. My mom has had a rough childhood, and she got married at 21. I do not really know what happened in her childhood, but just know that there was trauma with my grandfather. He was strict to say the least, but I also have heard something happened between my grandfather and her.
When I turned 18, my mom turned from my best friend to my worst enemy. That was also the time I found out, she has been having depression and anxiety medications since she was 22.
Around that time, she hated seeing the sight of me. I do not know what happened and this was very difficult for me to process. That one entire year, I was all by myself. I saw a new face of hers, her expressions and tones scared me.
A year later, she ABSOLUTELY hated seeing me interact with my father. Even a tiny bit. Some months later, she created false narratives about sexual abuse and violations regarding my dad against me.(He has not). It was difficult for me. I could not enjoy a lunch with my dad. I could not go out with my dad. She always had to be present. My dad was upset and tried telling her family after a few more hard months.
It was 2021, and she still stands by that assumption. Oh also, before that, before any of this escalated to such a high level, she also accused my dad of having bipolar. My dad also had a rough childhood, and he was also having anxiety medications. When my mom enforced that she knows my dad has bipolar and forced him to go to the family psychologist they have been seeing for years. She was the one who spoke to him, and my dad got diagnosed with bipolar.(Now i am not sure what happened here, but he was actually not bipolar but probably a mis diagnosis happened).
He mainly started taking medications for my mom to be happy until he started reacting very badly to the medicines and had to be hospitalized. Long story short, he stopped. We found out it was in fact my mom who has bipolar and not him.
She started taking medications for bipolar and everything is normal. But recently she stops taking it and things go havoc. She was also diagnosed with schizophrenia but does not take medications.
She still has a lot of delusions, does not interact with anybody. Not even our family. She goes from 0-100 real quick. She does not do anything in the house besides lay down or write a book about religion. Thats all she does. She lies. Her expressions are scary when she is angry. She cut contact with almost everybody.
Its 2024, and I am upset and sad. I wonāt get my family back. Things have become beyond reparable. I am glad I had a good childhood up until 18. Things wonāt be normal. I hope I can see my mom and dad happy one day.
I love my mom, and I keep remembering the things she has done for me. Is there ANY WAY at all, I can make sure she is happy atleast? A glimpse atleast, for my family to be back together.

2024.06.01 11:42 quesadilla_queef Chronic cough for monthsāspirometry test seems abnormal but GP doesnāt seem to take it seriously. Said I must have been sick and they will see me in a month. Meanwhile I am coughing nonstop. Results say ārestriction probableā
33F, 5ā4ā, 200lbā¦ chronic cough for months. Initially provider thought cough was caused by heartburn but heartburn medication has not been helping. Cough produces white and yellow phlegm (mostly cleawhiteāyellow in the morning). Friends, family, coworkers have all noticed my cough for months and wonder what is wrong. I finally decided to get looked at but it feels like my symptoms are being minimized.
Chest X-ray was normal.
Prescribed albuterol inhaler (by urgent care, not GP) and told to take mucinex DM by GP. Also taking Zoloft, Famotidine.

Hi everyone!
Ok, so I was in the kitchen after dinner when I leaned on the bench. I felt a squeeze in my chest, it start to hurt a bit and I felt a tiny bit of nausea/cold sweat/confusion. I stumbled to my room, my vision had gone and I believe everything kinda just turned white. I went to lie on the floor and did some breathing in and out; my ears were ringing and they started making weird wobbly high pitched ringing sounds. I don't know if I had a mini heart problem or if my stress caused some sort of serious problem. I'm lying in bed now afterwards; I wasn't really scared that I was going to die because I didn't think I was and I couldn't care less if I did since it was quite peaceful apart from the nausea. My brain is constantly filling my body with a dull dread and this gave me a rush of adrenaline, I kinda giggled when I told my mum about it and refused to go into the lounge and part of me is secretly hoping I'll just pass away in my sleep but thats a talk for another time lmao. Ik thats a weird thing to wish for but the bit where I nearly fell unconscious was so peaceful. Anyway, what could this mean? Did I have some sort of stroke? I'm 16 years old.
