2024.05.27 15:32 Prior_Alps1728 When did you figure it out?

When were the light bulb moments in your life when you realized you had been abused and/or neglected?
For me, the first was when I was 25 and my supervisor was addressing an issue. She freaked out and told me I had dead eyes and as a former CPS worker, recognized it immediately for what it was.
Hearing about Jennette McCurdy's book I'm Glad My Mom Is Dead sent another moment of recognition to me that my mother was controlling and abusive.
After I had introduced her to my husband's family on a trip, we were going to travel just her, my stepdad, and me. The train doors had only just closed before she went from sweet and unassuming (with my husband's family) to vindictive and mean to the both of us.
I went low contact after that.

2024.05.25 22:47 Oystercracker123 I'm Really Struggling With Society

I'm Really Struggling With Society
Crossposted on PsychedelicTherapy - just wondering if you guys have any perspective.
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any advice or perspective they could lend me.
I was caught with less than 0.5g marijuana while driving from legal state to legal state in a freak accident. This led police to find 3g of mushrooms in my car. If I didn't take the plea deal offered, I would have gone to jail.
I don't use psychedelics for fun. I suffer from pretty debilitating CPTSD from childhood enmeshment and emotional incest (think Jennette Mccurdy). The only thing that's ever slipped past my ego that is so set on never letting my guard down was LSD, and other psychedelics thereafter. I didn't realize it was even possible to feel okay (aka not chronically suicidal) until I did LSD in a supportive setting. Regular use of small dose psilocybin, and annual use of high dose psychedelics along with twice weekly therapy has helped and changed me so significantly that I have actually had multiple month-long periods where I don't have any depressive episodes. This was never a thing for me before. On a side-note, that LSD experience made me believe in God, and psychedelic experiences have become a semi-religious personal ritual for me. After my legal experience in which most every lawyer scoffed at the idea of religious use of psychedelics, it seems clear to me that the First Amendment is dead.
Ever since I was almost jailed for doing the thing that almost certainly saved me from suicide, I just hate America. I also hate society in general because it has the power to dictate things like whether or not I can have access to medicine that saved me. I have been bed-ridden in depression for most of this year, and have suicidal thoughts only once or twice a day on good days, and on bad days I sit in bed avoiding eating because I haven't committed to not dying yet that day. I have lost a significant amount of weight from this. It would be nice to once again get to the point where I don't even have suicidal thoughts occur. Right now the best is when I think "no, I feel good enough to not want that right now, but thanks for the suggestion, brain!" (Lol) I also struggle to hold down a regular job (which would get me out of the house) because I don't want to live half the time, and it makes it hard for me to commit to work...I also make most of my income as a gigging solo musician, so I can usually spend most days in bed until I have to play. Playing is often the only solace I get.
I'm currently deciding what the hell to do. I don't want to move because I really love and trust my therapist, but I think it would feel great to live somewhere with decriminalization. I'm planning on saving for a trip to Spain to hike El Camino in fall, and Spain has decriminalized all drugs. I still fear that any laws might get changed, though. I just hate that society can just do that to people. I currently have the opportunity to do 5-MEO in a therapeautic setting with a professional. I wonder if this would help, but it seems like it might be too intense for me right now. The idea of being caught again really bothers me. I also have trauma associated with antidepressants as my enmeshed family tried to push them, and the narrative that my brain is just innately depressed onto me...(basically blaming the effects of all of their abuse on my brain having a defect). It seems to me that they worked for me because I actually believed my parents...they stopped working once I read about the portion of placebo effect of SSRIs. I also find the idea of anything that can suppress psychedelic experiences very creepy, untrustworthy, and antithetical to my spiritual/religious beliefs.
Any thoughts, or ways to frame this to make more peace with this are greatly appreciated. I am struggling with finding hope.
Thank you.

2024.05.22 21:54 kitkatnat21 Books That Touch on Grief/Aftermath of Abusive Parents

Suggest me a book that touches on grief/aftermath of abusive parents.
I've read books (usually memoirs) about people dealing with the grief/aftermath of their parents where the parent was not abusive and I'd really just like to read something that's more similiar to what I'm experiencing.
Preferably books that touch on grief/aftermath of abusive parents, where the abusive parent isn't treated like they were an angel/saint.
My therapist recommended "I"m Glad My Mom Died" by Jennette McCurdy and "Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail" by Cheryl Strayed so I have those but wanting to see if there are any other recommendations.

2024.05.22 19:14 MeatJordan Where CAN I protest this?

Here's the summary version if you're too lazy to read the whole thing:
It all began when I first stumbled upon Inside Edition's videos of women - that's ~WOMEN~ getting slammed, insulted, and blasted for "showing too much of their body (with kids around)". Then it escalates further when they show a school is photoshopping out women's cleavages to make them look "modest" for their yearbook. I feel this type of treatment towards the female human is all wrong! Like, can't anybody learn to appreciate and look at the female body without censoring it in any way? Can't you let ANYBODY, including kids, get a chance to learn about the differences between the male and female human bodies????
Then comes along... you guessed it. That one video Inside Edition publishes. And after seeing her top blurred, my inner voice in my head yelled out: "That's the last straw!" Like, can't some of us get a chance to learn something new that just aroused our curiosity? Such as how the human body changes with time in terms of both genders? Like, now, I can finally visualize myself (my whole body) from little boy to fully grown man. But when Inside Edition published that footage, the new question that took me by storm is: what would a female look like from little girl to fully grown woman? At least this type of footage can give me a better visual illustration - provided that Inside Edition didn't blur it in the first place. And this will give the kids a jump start lesson on why boys and girls exist in the first place - not only because of their mental traits from toy stores, but also for a later life stage.
But with YouTube's broken comment system GHOSTING certain-to-random comments, even on my backup YouTube account, I can't seem to get ANY messages across!
Speaking of which, when I tried to post this on Feminism and AskFeminists, they BOTH perma-banned me for NO REASON and muted me from talking to their mods for 28 days!
Why do I say "no reason"?
"Hello, You have been permanently banned from participating in this subreddit because your post violates this community's rules. You won't be able to post or comment, but you can still view and subscribe to it.
If you have a question regarding your ban, you can contact the moderator team by replying to this message.
Reminder from the Reddit staff: If you use another account to circumvent this subreddit ban, that will be considered a violation of the Content Policy and can result in your account being suspended from the site as a whole."
As you can see, there is no specific reason listed in the message above. So this is why I claim or what I mean by "banned from a sub for 'no reason'. - Even for something that was never officially listed on that sub's rule board.
Once more, I, along with these parents of their own daughter proved one major point: if a male can go topless/show their body, then so can a female - regardless of age!
Can't I get a chance to learn something new? Some evolution/development processes for certain things can be a little more complicated than you originally first thought. Plus, I don't recall learning about the development of the human body in terms of both genders in any of my past biology classes!
In the videos I watched, those women involved in those videos - the victims, they were doing nothing wrong! They were just minding their own business. Then, out of the blue, some random person(s) demands they "cover up" (to "protect the kids").
When I comment "Can't these guys learn to appreciate one's female appearance?", it gets ghosted by YouTube's blasted comment moderating system. That just fuels my rage as due to that combined with getting (permanently) banned from subreddits makes me feel this world is getting more and more paranoid. I've never felt so shunned from the internet in all my life! I can't seem to get any messages across at this rate!
And after that one video Inside Edition posted, I felt there might be more visual content like this out here somewhere. I just have to get lucky I find it first. Then, out of a random thought - after viewing the napalm article on Wikipedia, "Napalm Girl" was the next subject that took me by storm. And sure enough, there was the picture of her unedited - on one site, and another - from another site with her chest blurred. That got me into setting this female nudity rights protest into motion.
And while dumping some trash in a dumpster one day, I found a discarded disposable diaper box by the outside right side of the dumpster and noticed that there was a topless little girl plastered onto it. That was just the evidence I need to show everyone that the censorship regulations involving the female human body are inconsistent. That, along with nude statues - artwork of naked people.
They blast a living person, but not a statue or a disposable diaper box! - Or even something that's news media approved!
Here's the long detailed version below:
Ok, before you start reading below, I want you to visit this and read the whole article to better understand my situation: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/guelph-parents-angry-after-topless-girl-8-told-to-cover-up-1.3124762
I got banned from Lemmy social site servers for "CSAM" all because of this: the Napalm Girl pic and another thing I saw on Inside Edition's channel in addition to some nude statues - literally artwork of naked people - all because I was trying to protest ~the inconsistencies of censorship towards the female human~ - regardless of their race AND age!
Let me be clear on one thing: I didn't post any "CSAM" on the Lemmy servers! I'm protesting something that I feel is unfair towards the female human.
Please ~actually watch these before jumping to conclusions~ so you can actually understand what I’m really protesting!
Women Who Were Told Their Outfits Were ‘Too Revealing’
Mom Says She Was Kicked Out of Gym For Revealing Tank Top: I Felt Humiliated
Cops Dragged Woman Off Beach After Complaint About Her Bikini
It’s one thing to say a female’s outfit or body is “too revealing”,
Teens React After Yearbook Photos Are ‘Modesty Edited’
it’s two things to photoshop out a female’s cleavage to make her look “modest” for a yearbook or a portrait!
9-Year-Old Saves Family From House Fire
But censoring a topless preteen female who thought up an ingenious strategy to stay cool like her friends in the same stuffy room while at the same time not caring who’s around her? THAT’S REALLY CROSSING THE LINE!
It's all thanks to some videos from Inside Edition's YouTube Channel. All these videos Inside Edition posted are developing a question in my mind that's getting the better of me: why so much hate on the female human - even as children? Like, why do they censor the little girl's chest? Can't anybody learn to appreciate the appearance of the female body? Just like those parents of their own 8 year old daughter, I too am genuinely outraged by this type of treatment towards the female human!
And what's the big deal with nipples? I'm just trying to ensure everyone is treated equally regardless of race, and gender... AND age (after what I just witnessed). And if no one's gonna speak up about this, I might as well step up to the plate. After all, somebody's gotta do it!
That little girl in the final video made two non-verbal messages clear: one: if a boy can do it, then so can a girl! And two: no one is too young for anything! As long as you have the knowledge capacity and I.Q level to do it properly and safely, you'll be fine. I was able to refuel my dad's car and cook my own dinner when I was 6 and without setting anything ablaze by accident.
However, when I try to illustrate with that video, even though Inside Edition is an official news channel, the responses I get back are rather bitter! They remove my post or ban me from the sites I post on for "promoting nudity involving a minor"!
So my big question here is:
~WHERE~
~CAN~
~I~
~ASK~
~OR~
~SHARE~
~THIS~
~SUBJECT?!~
Due to my autism, I only know basic English. So I need to illustrate to get most of my messages through. I thought hard and I tried, and low and behold, they were removed hours later mainly because they "didn't fit the subject of the forum". Even though my multi-subject based thread does have some material relating to this forum's topic. These sites and mods are all really stretching my problem solving skills beyond the breaking point for this one. I'm merely protesting with these pictures and videos as illustrations. I'm not that good with words, so I need pictures to get half my messages across as noted above.
Many subreddits or forum sites don’t accept URLs, pictures, specific website URLs, or even a combination! Thereby hindering my ability to fully explain what I’m witnessing! In this case, the sentences “It’s one thing to say a girl’s outfit is ‘too revealing’, it’s two things to photoshop out a girl’s cleavage to make her look ‘modest’ for a yearbook.” actually corresponded to several videos I bore witness to on Inside Edition’s YouTube channel.
I actually tried to post that URL with that blurred 9yo girl in a subreddit in the past and you won’t believe this: I actually lost my reddit account for 2 days for “promoting nudity involving a minor”! Other sites like the adult video forums who accept uncensored nudity-based images I mentioned just delete my thread! Another site I recall banned me for 1 year for “spam” - even though I only made this protest post twice (after they removed it once).
So that meant I had to approach this from a different angle: after that experience, I got a little paranoid from using that said video URL to illustrate. So I tried explaining this protest without the URLs - and this is in conjunction with certain sites restricting my ability to post images, URLs, certain site URLs, or a combination. It seemed to end up making things worse! Because without the visual evidence, it makes it much harder to fully explain what I’m witnessing.
So without the URLs included - that visual illustration, on the sites I tried along with Lemmy World, it actually made things worse! That’s what lead Lemmy.World mods to ban me for life for “CSAM” or made other people think I watched child porn when I clearly didn’t. The lack of visual evidence (due to my past reddit experience combined with the site’s posting restrictions) is what led to this “pedophile” confusion. So please help me talk some sense into the Lemmings world, Lemmy.ml, and Lemmy.world mods that this was all a major misunderstanding and Lemmy is pretty much the only reddit alternative out here where I can try asking another question. My attempt to appeal has failed on 3 Lemmy social sites - even after I tried notifying the mods on the third Lemmy server site before making the post, so I need your help now!
I felt after Inside Edition uploaded that blurred 9yo girl video… I thought to myself “That’s the last straw!” Someone needs to protest these absurd censorship laws that they apply to the female human!
Why can males show most of their body but females can’t? - In most cases that is? Whatever happened to "Free The Nipple"?
Children should have the same… rights to do things as any adult! It’s about possessing the knowledge capacity and I.Q level to safely execute this action. E.G, on those “Family Day” episodes of The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal; those kids made smart choices when picking the correct numbers to items to win a prize.
I’m not joking around here! This type of treatment towards the female human needs to stop - this includes race and age. - It’s like racist people, but in age form.
Does it look like I’m laughing for fun? Of course not! Since no one else is protesting this, and YouTube has a flawed comment moderating system hindering my ability to post on even random videos (I.E, "ghosting"), I have to take more drastic measures to protest by stepping up to the plate and shouting out “Can’t we all be equal in terms of a huge variety of traits?” Yeah, the last thing I need is a vein-bleeding broken-record robot impeding or hindering my ability to seek answers to a question!
We need to learn to appreciate or accept how the female body appears regardless of race and age!
Stop trying to blame it all on me! None of the stuff in the vids posted, is that. If it was, Inside Edition would be the guilty party, and Youtube for not having already deleted them. If it doesn’t violate Youtube’s TOS, it should be fine to post anywhere. If there was even a hint of impropriety to it, at the minimum the vid would have been age restricted.
No one would answer! Not even Inside Edition themselves were willing to offer an answer when I even found their email address, the sites dedicated to helping those in mental, suicidal, or emotional distress (those forum sites even PERMA-banned me for "spam" - that's right, SPAM! (Even though there was absolutely no mention of a permanent ban or rule about "spam" in their forum guidelines!) Is that the definition of "spam" when I make a bad thread only once?! And when I try to appeal the ban, the same message "please contact the administrator if it was done in error" is blocking my ability to click the contact button! Or sometimes it's a blank white page with that message in the top left corner of the window! - Which adds more insult to injury, because I can't click anything as all the buttons have disappeared! That means I can't log out of that site either!), OR the adult video forums that support uncensored nudity images would accept that video link URL let alone the entire topic itself! So I really am at a loss for thoughts and words on what I just experienced! Heck, I even tried the professional therapists of talkingforchange.ca But even they too were too reluctant to talk as they claim my post regarding the censorship of women is not for their platform and they disconnected the chat 2 seconds after their last reply to me. And I highly doubt that ANY site will allow me to illustrate with a picture of the Napalm Girl (Phan Thi Kim Phuc) when she was 9, certain pictures of Pampers diaper boxes (why do you think they (Pampers, Huggies, etc.) even allows a pic of a topless little boy or girl to be plastered on a diaper box we see in grocery stores/supermarkets everyday?), Leela when she was an infant in the episode Leela's Homeworld, or even Belgium's famous kids: Manneken Pis/Jeanneke Pis. Do you think she along with ~other nude statues from around the world~ are trying to promote pedos?
That, combined with YouTube having a flawed comment moderating system hindering my ability to post comments on certain-to-random videos (I.E, "ghosting"), I'm forced to take more drastic measures to get my messages across. All this combined, ~I'VE NEVER FELT SO SHUNNED FROM THE INTERNET IN ALL MY LIFE!~
It seems everyone is too chicken (BAWK! BAWK-BAWK-BAWK!) to even start this subject! That's right! You heard me clearly!
~THESE~
~PEOPLE~
~ARE~
~PARANOID!~
But here's a strange catch: sometimes on some sites, Napalm Girl is censored, other sites she isn't. So I felt that I need to protest this. It seems everyone is too chicken to even start this subject! Don't these numbskulls know not to judge a book by its cover?! This is where I ask myself "NOW WHAT?!". This can't be one of those "exceptional" cases where they say "suicide never solves anything" doesn't apply to these types of situations. In other words, all hope for resolving these types of situations really is lost. I really do feel left in the dark on both the subject of sound effects and nudity!
Once more, I'm not being a ped, I'm protesting all these absurd censorship rules and regulations that revolve around the female human - regardless of ~race~ ~and~ ~age~ - after what Inside Edition posted. Watch the videos I found again for clarification. In other words, ~the inconsistencies of female human censorship~.
Can you really - you know, hurl insults at Inside Edition or blast them for what they did? It was their idea to publicly publish the footage. Just like how that one photographer made the choice to publicly publish footage of the Napalm Girl when she was 9 and completely nude. Therefore, it should be ok to share this footage anywhere.
But some areas censored Napalm Girl's nipples, but others did not - excluding her groin. Then there's the diaper boxes I found in any supermarket. And finally... Surprise surprise: typical women being scolded by other people for wearing something "inappropriate" or "showing too much of their body". I look around and since no one else is protesting about this (most likely due to YouTube's ghosting of certain words or phrases in the users' comments), I might as well do it! After all, someone's gotta step up to the plate to hit that ball! I will not sit idling by the sidelines and continue to watch the female human get treated/censored like this! ~I will stand up, step up, and speak out~ towards these absurd reactions, rules, and regulations that revolve around the appearance and censorship of the female body!

2024.05.21 19:22 sunnynukes A list of Min Heejin’s weird pattern of behavior

I think it’s a good time for people to revisit some of Min Heejin’s previous personal and creative choices. When you see everything together it no longer looks like a couple of coincidences but a long leading pattern of behavior
I’ve tried to link as much as I can. Please let me know if need to edit or add anything. None of the MV links are the actual music videos and are instead stills posted on Imgur
-Hyein’s top in the Attention MV was a bralette while the older members all were more covered up. Hyein is 14 in this MV
-In the Attention MV their laptop falls to the ground as they’re on a video call and the people on the other end watch them dance
-Minji wears a shirt that says pimp is yours
-In the Hype Boy MV(Danielle&Haerin ver.) Danielle takes a heart shaped lollipop she had in her mouth and puts it in Haerin’s mouth
-The Hurt MV is made up of almost entirely zoomed in shots of the members. The only moments that are not is a hand in the water and Minji playing with Hyein’s hair
-Min Heejin does a interview with BE(ATTITUDE) Magazine. She talks a bit about Hyein
Our youngest member is cool and sophisticated. She came to my home one day and we ate together, went to the bookstore, and walked around the neighborhood, talking about this and that. There was a passing awkwardness, but after a while it felt like I was taking a walk with a friend. She’s got so many talents and amazing skills. She’s young, but thoughtful, with that innocence they have at that age. I still remember bathing in her refreshing energy, and the sublime weather only added to the effect.
-NewJeans officially releases Cookie which is filled with sexual innuendo lyrics. Their ages at this point are 18, 17, 17, 16, and 14. Cookie was written by two native English speakers.
-Min Heejin posts a picture on Instagram that includes the Histoire de Melody Nelson album by Serge Gainsbourg on display in her apartment. The album’s storyline is about a middle age man who takes a 14 year old’s virginity
-Min Heejin posts a picture on Instagram of Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting’s nude scene from the 1968 movie Romeo and Juliet. Olivia was 15 at the time of filming and Leonard was 16. (The actors have actually sued Paramount over the nudity in this scene you can read about it here)
-Min Heejin posts several pictures that include a “Baby Brooke” picture as decoration in her apartment. Brooke Shields was extremely sexually exploited as a child
-Min Heejin posts a picture that includes a still from the 1974 film Le Farò de Padre. The IMDb page for the film. The plot is an older man plans to marry a mentally-challenged, sex-crazed, adolescent girl.
-Danielle gets styled like Mathilda from LĂŠon the Professional. Mathilda is played by 12 year old Natalie Portman and there are many inappropriate themes/hintings between her and the titular character who was portrayed by 46 year old Jean Reno.
There are also these two posts that she made but I do not know who they are if they are also celebrities/actors. I’m also sorry for the bad screenshot quality of her Instagram posts, she has since deleted these so these screenshots are from Twitter
-Min Heejin responds to the Instagram post controversy in a interview with JoongAng Ilbo. She says that all of the pictures of minors she had on her wall were gifted to her from a couple years ago. She also says that pimp is yours and Cookie are slang.
-The music video of OMG is taking place in a mental hospital with all of the members having different mental issues.
-Haters are directly talked to at the end of the OMG MV as one of the members stops another one from writing a hate comment on Twitter and tells the other member it’s time to go. The hate comment says “Does anyone else feel uncomfortable watching the MV?”
-NewJeans gets into a controversy ahead of their ETA release as there are many similarities with a Spanish terrorist group(Euskadi Ta Askatasuna)). The teaser video said staring Mikel, Maria, and Eva which are names people connected to the group. The release date of ETA(July 21st) was also the date of two separate group attacks in different years. The music videos for the mini album were also primarily shot in Spain.
-The MV for Cool With You stars Jung Hoyeon as a woman who follows around and falls in love with a man who is unable to see her as she is some sort of invisible entity like Eros. She is able to become human after standing naked in the rain. The 5 members of NewJeans are basically her guardian angels and have been watching over her the entire time including a scene where Hoyeon gets on top of the man as he’s sleeping
Related to the recent Kakaotalk texts that were leaked where Min Heejin calls some of the members fat - here is a predebut video of the members of NewJeans talking with Min Heejin. The girls are only eating vegetables
Min Hee Jin: How is it?
Hyein: It’s so good. I think after coming here, I got used to this healthy taste. So now I like such foods.
Min Hee Jin: Wow, finally something good to hear. Hyein originally liked meat, though.
Hyein: Yeah. I still like meat but, well.
Min Heejin worked at SM Entertainment from 2002 until 2018. These are some controversial moments that she was involved in during that time at SM
Please note that I did not actively follow her career at that point so if I got any information wrong please let me know
-The Happiness MV from Red Velvet references the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and 9/11. The MV was edited to get rid of the collage.
-Red Velvet releases Ice Cream Cake which is filled with sexual innuendos. The ages of the members at this point are 23, 21, 21, 18, and Yeri being 16.
-This photoshoot for Red Velvet’s Rookie which I personally think fetishizes the members in a Lolita style. Yeri is 17
-Shinee’s topless photoshoot for Sherlock. Jonghyun’s body had too much muscle definition so they photoshopped it to make his body more boyish.
-NCT Dream in 2016. Their ages were 18, 17, 17, 16, 16, 16, and 14 however they were styled to look even younger
-15 year old Sulli from f(x) in 2010 for Oh! Boy
-The MV for NCT Dream’s My First And Last includes the members being students who are in love with their female teacher. The members ages at this point are also 18, 17, 16, 16, 16, 15, and 15.
-The MV for NCT 127’s Fire Truck includes shooting a girl with water. The actress was in sixth grade at the time of shooting
-The MV for Super Junior’s Devil had a 14 year old actress
-Min Heejin talking about Brooke Shields in relation to f(x)’s Krystal in an interview for GQ Magazine March 2016 edition.
I sent her a photo of Brooke Shields as a teenager, and Krystal liked it. With a charm that only the matured past can embrace, Krystal versatility handles time and distance. Rather than imitating Brooke's hairstyle or pose, Krystal can show expressions of someone who is able to feel emotions and moods. Whether it's a young lady, a vampire, or the cute Sujeong, she can suddenly become independent from herself. Even if she wears the same clothes in the same place, each picture feels different.

2024.05.20 18:58 Tuomas90 I (30m) Just finished iCarly for the first time.

I just finished the last episode. I honestly didn't expect to shed tears, but I did.
I've started watching the show after seeing the reference to it in the Mean Girls Remake.
I grew up in the 2000s and I watched Hannah Montana back then, which I loved. I wish I had known about iCarly back then, because it would have been the perfect replacement for Hannah Montana. I really totally missed out on that and I don't know why. I was looking for a replacement and just didn't find anything that worked for me. Dang flabbit!
I'm now in my 30s and this show has brought me so much joy in the past 3 months. Man, I'm really gonna miss it. I already watched a few episodes of the reboot, so I know it's not the same. I'll miss Jennette McCurdy dearly. I've always been into tomboys, so if I had watched it growing up, man I would have had a gigantic crush on her. I would have gone straight from Lola Luftnagel to Sam.
I alsow want to mention how great their wardrobe became at some point in the later seasons. I mean Sam and Carly had so many beautiful outfits! And Mama always looks good in a leather jacket!
Sam & Spencer were my absolutely favourite characters. Characters as well as their actors. I just love those two. They carried the whole show for me. Freddie was annoying at first, but as soon as he hit puberty, he became quite likeable. I enjoyed Gibby, until they started making him an aboslute idiot in the last season (maybe earlier, but I only really noticed it then). T-Bo also became on of my favourite characters in the later seasons. He was just cool and fun.
I know I'll be rewatching this show many times, because it's become one of my comfort shows. I hope there'll be a blu-ray release some day.
Now I have to find a replacement and get over that low after a finished a great show. I might just jump right into Sam & Cat. I'm grateful for any recommendations. I already tried Victorious, which doesn't work for me.

2024.05.19 12:11 MeatJordan Where CAN I protest this?

Let me start with the summary version:
It all began when I first stumbled upon Inside Edition's videos of women - that's WOMEN getting slammed, insulted, and blasted for "showing too much of their body (with kids around)".
And after seeing her top blurred, my inner voice in my head: "That's the last straw!" Like, can't some of us get a chance to learn something new that just aroused our curiosity? Such as how the human body changes with time in terms of both genders? Like, now, I can finally visualize myself (my whole body) from little boy to fully grown man. But when Inside Edition published that footage, the new question that took me by storm is: what would a female look like from little girl to fully grown woman?
Some evolution/development processes for certain things can be a little more complicated then you originally first thought.
Now here's the detailed version:
It’s one thing to say a girl’s outfit or body is “too revealing”,
Teens React After Yearbook Photos Are ‘Modesty Edited’
it’s two things to photoshop out a girl’s cleavage to make her look “modest” for a yearbook or a portrait!
9-Year-Old Saves Family From House Fire
But censoring a topless preteen girl who thought up an ingenious strategy to stay cool like her friends in the same stuffy room while at the same time not caring who’s around her?
After all, somebody's got to do it!
~WHERE~
~CAN~
~I~
~ASK~
~OR~
~SHARE~
~THIS~
~SUBJECT?!~
Due to my autism, I only know basic English. So I need to illustrate to get most of my messages through. I thought hard, I tried, and low and behold, they were removed hours later mainly because they "didn't fit the subject of the forum". Even though my multi-subject based thread does have some material relating to this forum's topic. These sites and mods are all really stretching my problem solving skills beyond the breaking point for this one. I'm merely protesting with these pictures and videos as illustration. I'm not that good with words, so I need pictures to get half my messages across as noted above.
Many subreddits or forum sites don’t accept URLs, pictures, specific website URLs, or even a combination! Thereby hindering my ability to fully explain what I’m witnessing! In this case, the sentences “It’s one thing to say a girl’s outfit is ‘too revealing’, it’s two things to photoshop out a girl’s cleavage to make her look ‘modest’ for a yearbook.” actually corresponded to several videos I beared witness to on Inside Edition’s YouTube channel.
The lack of visual evidence (due to my past reddit experience combined with the site’s posting restrictions) is what lead to this “pedophile” confusion.
And I highly doubt that ANY site will allow me to illustrate with a picture of the Napalm Girl (Phan Thi Kim Phuc) when she was 9, certain pictures of Pampers diaper boxes (why do you think they (Pampers, Huggies, etc.) even allow a pic of a topless little boy or girl to be plastered on a diaper box we see in grocery stores/supermarkets everyday?), Leela when she was an infant in the episode Leela's Homeworld, or even Belgium's famous kids: Manneken Pis/Jeanneke Pis. That, combined with YouTube having a flawed comment moderating system hindering my ability to post comments on certain-to-random videos (I.E, "ghosting"), I'm forced to take more drastic measures to get my messages across. All this combined, ~I'VE NEVER FELT SO SHUNNED FROM THE INTERNET IN ALL MY LIFE!~
But here's a strange catch: sometimes on some sites, Napalm Girl is censored, other sites she isn't. So I felt that I need to protest this. It seems everyone is too chicken to even start this subject! Don't these numbskulls know not to judge a book by it's cover?!
Once more, I'm not being a ped, I'm protesting all these absurd censorship rules and regulations that revolve around the female human - regardless of race and age - after what Inside Edition posted.
I look around and since no one else is protesting about this, I might as well do it! After all, someone's gotta step up to the plate to hit that ball! I will not sit idling by the sidelines and continue to watch the female human get treated/censored like this! I will stand up, step up, and speak out towards these absurd reactions, rules, and regulations that revolve around the appearance and censorship of the female body! What about the famous Jeanneke Pis in Belgium? Do you think she along with other nude statues are trying to promote pedophilia?
