2024.06.01 13:58 noobman803 cmake not found during dlib installation using pip (even though cmake installed correctly)

here's my stackoverflow question (also described below), [https://stackoverflow.com/q/78561688/16465011\](https://stackoverflow.com/q/78561688/16465011)
i want to install dlib in a virtual environment using pip. pip told me that it requires cmake to install dlib. cool, i installed cmake. tried to install dlib again, it still tells me to install cmake. i also don't understand why does the code try to access `__main__.py` on the cmake executable (see below)
here are the errors that pip gave
```powershell
Building wheel for dlib (pyproject.toml) did not run successfully.
│ exit code: 1
╰─> [14 lines of output]
:210: SyntaxWarning: invalid escape sequence '\('
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'cmake'
ERROR: CMake must be installed to build dlib
[end of output]
note: This error originates from a subprocess, and is likely not a problem with pip.
ERROR: Failed building wheel for dlib
```
then i ran cmake install command again. it told me requirement is already satisfied.
```powershell
(venv) PS C:\myFiles\dev\Hair_Style_Recommendation> python -m pip install cmake
Requirement already satisfied: cmake in c:\myfiles\dev\hair_style_recommendation\venv\lib\site-packages (3.29.3)
```
i checked in venv -> Scripts and cmake.exe does exist there, however pip can't find it.
  1. how do i fix this issue?
  2. does this have to do with the way cmake is being invoked? File "C:\\myFiles\\dev\\Hair\_Style\_Recommendation\\venv\\Scripts\\cmake.exe\\\_\_main\_\_.py", line 4, in ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'cmake' why does this try to access __main__.py on an executable file?

2024.06.01 13:50 Existing_Olive_4127 Researching DID has caused everything to happen all at once.

I’ve read in a couple of places that when a person that has DID starts researching the symptoms, their symptoms become more prominent and almost immediately they start meeting alters.
I was searching for answers to my symptoms and came across DID (already diagnosed DPDR+DA plus FND, non-epileptic seizures, BPAD, BPD, cPTSD & Behcet’s Disease (auto-immune).
Now when I start seeing these posts on reddit, much made sense. It felt like I had found people I can finally resonate with.
For those who were older when they realised they had DID or OSDD, did you have an influx of everyone trying to communicate at once? I am talking with a few, some aren’t speaking, but I know they are there. I feel like I know a lot about these people and now have started to notice after a dissociative event, that someone has either joined me, or taken over while I consciously watch from behind.
Also another question. I have always had internal dialogue - but it is constant, I discuss everything in my head, and up until now I thought it was just ‘thoughts’. But I also have convinced my self to do or not do something, I’ve argued with myself, laughed at myself and honestly had thought some really strange things that normally wouldn’t pop into my head. Is there a difference to a persons internal dialogue and the communications between alters? They sound like me, maybe some will have a slightly different accent or speak in a modestly eccentric way. The girl pretty much only whispers. But there are a few that I just can’t really tell who they are, because they seem so similar to be with just a few differences such as posture, sexual preference and style.
I feel like I have switched several times since finding this out. Although the switches seemed to have been with an Alter so similar to me it would be hard to identify them as an alternate version of me. They are bi, rather than gay, they hold their head a little higher and don’t quite walk around with the weird and specific walk I do because I’m just a dickhead. I feel more relaxed with them in control, but I also feel like I’m still there. But they are the ones controlling the body. Randomly I laugh. It’s not my laugh, it sounds horrible and it comes from some lay with black hair - I’ve never heard her talk, but she’s always cackling away when I’m trying to communicate internally.
Man after I re-read that, I can see why those with DID literally don’t want to tell anyone. It sounds so absurd, but to now be ‘possibly’ experiencing this, boy do I look up to people living with DID.

2024.06.01 13:46 Pyjama_party Can you have green veins and yellowy skin but still cool undertones? + what season are these fabrics?

Can you have green veins and yellowy skin but still cool undertones? + what season are these fabrics?
Style dna typed me as a light summer which I’m not convinced, but picked these colours out of my photo.
I’m struggling typing myself. Im stuck somewhere between summer and autumn.
I can do gold or silver but gold looks better imo and I can’t do silver eyeshadows or I look dead. I also can’t do overly warm or I look very pale, lipsticks & nail varnish seem to fall in the soft summer catagory.
Been told I’m neutral at hairdressers, and don’t look good with obvious red tones in my hair, it does have red undertones naturally but you can’t really tell, it’s not super ashy, and I can’t do overly cool hair either.
My best colours seem to be dusky rose, muted plums, and like a muted gold (not super yellow) I can also do greys, and light denims looks great, and the colours in the pics, but struggle with the soft autumn colours. My worst colours are dark teal, bright greens, orangey browns. When I put a pale mustardy yellow top on, it literally blended into my skin.
So I look yellowy gold, but the soft autumn colours don’t work on me, and I’m pretty sure I’m not a spring.
I’m so confused, I don’t seem to fit into any.
I’ve attached pics of clothes that look best on me sorry for the quality not keen on showing my face.

I feel terrible that I can only feel feminine when I wear certain clothes or hair styles and get miss gendered wrong if I don’t wear thos clothes or hair style, I hate feeling like a boy wearing girls things I want to seen as a girl no matter the hair style or clothes or make up or how I walk or sit. I stopped being afraid walking alone cause I don’t feel like I pass and it’s all in my head which made me more depressed I just want to be a girl and still regret I didn’t transition when I was 12 i probably could have had long beautiful hair without feeling disgusting and hate myself so deeply

2024.06.01 13:27 Android_NineS Just straightened my hair for the first time ever.

So I've always had my hair natural and always did protective styles. I started cutting my afro on occasion for the past years and I've just gotten tired of combing my hair (I only have one hair stylist I trust and currently right now she's going through a grievance in the fanily) I haven't been able to go do protective styling for my hair for ages.
So I decided that I will go to the salon near me with good reviews and regularly did this type of thing as well as colouring.
The salon took good care of me and listened to me which I'm grateful for, she also trimmed my ends and did heat protectant and also didn't put the straightners on a as high heat as my strands are fine even though I have a lot of hair follicles but it's short at the moment, only going past my ears. Also my hair is 4c.
Any advice for keeping it healthy? What has worked for you? im also worried about heat damage 😭 but I won't really know until I wash it lol. Also any tips for when I want to wash in the next couple of weeks?

What hair type am I?
I think it’s a toss up between 1c or 2a but I can’t figure out which one it is. My hair is thick and I think it’s medium-coarse, and I really struggle to style it. It gets poofy and frizzy when brushed, so I tend to leave it unbrushed. Because I can't style it, I end up going a few weeks without washing (gross, I know, i'm working on it) because it ends up getting this nice wave to it.
My scalp isn't full of dandfruff or oil but I do get a bit itchy after a while, and my hair can get a little bit oily, but nothing too bad. I have a blowout brush, but I struggle with frizz. I use the mypeople smooth shampoo and conditioner. I try and use leave in conditioners, curl cream, etc. and the frizz is still a problem.

2024.06.01 13:09 StatisticianWrong897 Is she an Australian Terrier?

Is she an Australian Terrier?
Hello! This is Luna! She was sold to us as a yorkie. As she grew older, we started thinking that she actually looked more like, maybe, a norwich terrier, until we found out about australian terriers. There are many pictures of pure breed aussie terriers (especially on ig) that look incredibly similar to our Luna. The thing is, we live in Brazil and I haven’t found a single aussie terrier breeder in our country, and I’ve never seen an aussie terrier in Brazil at all. What do you guys think? I’d also like to ask aussie terrier owners if you find dog hair everywhere? 😭 Thanks in advance for all the help/opinion. Have a great day! 😊

2024.06.01 12:27 WonderfulSpend8 Recommend me Hairdressers

I'm looking for a hairdresser in the Hague, for thin hair haircuts and highlights. I have grown out my hair for a few years to have long hair and now I'm ready to get a new look. Its the first time I will be getting a haircut in the Hague. I found someone in Amsterdam I really like, but my schedule is not matching up to go to them in Amsterdam. Hence, I am looking for someone with similar experience/style in the Hague.

I just completed the whole series and all the movies in 3 days , I am somebody who rarely cries or gets emotional, I am numb and disassociated , could relate with violet very much although her case is different, but we both know about emotions but it's something else to fell them, It was in my watchlist since a year but didn't felt like watching it as it was recommended to me to watch If you want to cry, I have tried others in the same category like the silent voice, I want to eat your pancreas, etc but no I didn't cry watching them. So i wasn't expecting much and didn't watch it. Recently re-watched fruit basket and after it ended was missing the fruba universe , so to distract myself I watched this show,
And damn I was struck at once with the animation quality and style, this was literally the style i was craving to watch from so long, my first anime was garden of words, nd Ghibli movies hence I love such pretty style! So i continued watching without expecting much from the show coz I was already in love with the animation. And ofcourse any normal human would be hooked to the plot too , so was I. and no surprise, (surprise for me tho) I cried twice in the whole story, very hard, once in the series >! When she tried to unalive herself!< Second in the final movie before they were finally gonna meet And I hadn't cried since ages , the only time I have cried in last 5years was when I watched Interstellar. So this was therapeutic to say the least and very intense. I am here to tell anybody who still haven't watched , please do!
The only thing I didn't liked about the story was the age gap between Gilbert and her, I mean atleast they could have reduced It to 10 like the prince and the princess, coz that was weird , I get their love was open ended but It was still pretty much implied towards romantic side, and and in the time period of the movie it was normal I get it , but comeon. 🫠. Or else it would have been better >! If They never met again, looking at the age thing and also looking at violet's growth as a person, it would have been so better if we had got clarity on her romantic life ,like if she could have dated somebody like that blue haired starry space guy lol I forgot his name , or somebody similar uk, nd the way she stopped traveling, like she had became so independent nd had so much of growth, that it felt pointless for her to only stay at the island. It was weird and nd in character to probably violet's abandonment issue but destroys the character development but I get it , the eternal love between them , I get that and I'm not complaining!<
Also I absolutely love how fatherly hodgins is to violet I was so happy to see somebody care about her that much other than major obv!! It's so cute lol. Nd why tf is gilbert's elder brother so fking hot like damn he looks so good for a douche bag he was, for me he is more good looking than the major!
Fin! Thank you for reading nd please rec if you know some other such anime! Also abt this art image, idk if it's AI or not , and idk the creator either , please message or comment for credit , coz I found it on Pinterest!

2024.06.01 12:18 Twixify22 Which Iphone Camera Can Actually Pick Up The Definition Of Dark Hair?

This is probably a weird question, but I currently have an iphoneX because I never really wanted a new one.
The only issue I have is that the camera can barely pick up what my hair actually looks like in real life.
I have dark brown hair (almost black) and I style it every morning with a blow dryer + round brush so it get's lot's of volume and large bouncy curls.
The only problem is that whenever i try to take a photo, my hair just looks like a dark brown blob on my head with no definition or anything. The camera can't pick up the thick layers and volume in my hair which are otherwise well defined IRL.
Because of this, I've considered getting a new iphone. Does anyone know which of the newer models have a good enough camera that can pick up dark hair?

2024.06.01 12:16 HarmonyDragon Want a self esteem boost for things that you dislike about yourself appearance wise?

Talk to a kid. Why do I say that? I teach elementary school music in a very Haitian dominated school. And the girls are obsessed with my skin texture and hair texture.
Always hated my hair because Hashimoto’s messed up puberty’s transformation of it leaving it dry, frizzy and uneven curl wise. Now I don’t mind it so much and that’s just because the girls I teach are obsessed with it. My skin too…..they love pointing out how you can see my veins or how red my hands get after playing rhythm sticks with them compared to theirs. Oh and don’t get me started on how obsessed some of them are with my visible, four of them, tattoos.
I started acknowledging my confusion when they change hair styles, especially when they go from braids to natural hair or change up their braid styles. It takes me a minute or two to recognize them but I am getting use to it after 3 years of teaching here. But I never realized how much of a self esteem boost they in return give me. Especially when they throw out how they would love to see me wear braids like them. The boys on the other hand are all about the tattoos or my eye color, blue.
The other day one of the younger siblings I have never met stopped dead in his little tracks, stared at me, tugged his mom’s pant leg for her attention then pointed to me and said very loudly: Mommy that her! That the pretty lady who (enter sister’s name) wants you to do braids on. I think she look good in them! Then proceeded to run my way to hug me while his sister cringed at his over excitement.
Self esteem boost if I ever needed one right now. Now that is not to say all kids will boost you up self esteem wise as they do have a habit of gaslighting us or humbling us but the ones that do actually make my day when I am overwhelmed or not feeling good.

2024.06.01 12:05 lemontree3637 How do I care for my hair correctly?

Hello people of Reddit,
I don‘t know how to care for / style for my hair correctly, I feel like everything contradicts itself With my hair. I know I have Wavy/Curly hair But every time I do the CGM or use any product it looks Good for 10 minutes and after that my hair is straighter and flatter than it would be without Any Styling. It is also impossible for me to get a cast. But if I dont use any product or style my hair i look like a wet dog, my hair is super frizzy and my waves or curls have no Definition. I have a lot of white and frizzy hair on Top of my head and but if I apply conditioner or products Where the frizz is, it just weighs down my roots and my hair is super flat. So How do I do it correctly???
I attached Pictures: 1&2. my hair air drying on vacation, no products no styling (super hot and humid) 3. CGM looking Good for 10 minutes 4. frizzy white hairs

2024.06.01 11:57 throwaway14671 Anywhere in London that cuts Asian hair?

Hi all, I'm half Japanese and have somewhat Asian hair, and like to keep my hair in an Asian style (kind of 60/40 middle part).
However I never get good haircuts unless I get my hair cut in Japan. All the barbers I go to here all just seem to scissor happy. So I'm wondering if anyone knows any good places either Asian barbers or places that are good with Asian hair?
