I got my hands on a 11" Air M2 and am wondering if I should return for a 13".
I mainly use it for browsing social media, FaceTime and personal use. I like bringing it around with me in my house in the Smart Folio playing music, on FaceTime with friends, iMessage, scrolling thru social media and playing light games (Sudoku, cross-word puzzles lol).
For work related things - I try to keep all work on my work desktop in the office. However, I was updating my resume on my iPad in Word and found that using split screen and writing documents with Word might be better with an 13".
I'm just scared a 13" iPad will be too big for using as a tablet when I'm at home. I like how light and portable the 11" is and how it really feels like a "tablet" instead of a laptop wannabe lol.
Did anyone get a 13" and regret it?

I'm in Lima, Peru. I finished my course and I submitted my sample for testing in Labcorp right before I left the US, planning to view my results when abroad. Infuriatingly, I learned that my doctor's office mishandled my sample so Labcorp was not able to test. Labcorp told me that the urgent care put it in an incorrect container without the preservative.
Is there a reliable LabCorp or Quest here in Lima, Peru? What would the cost be of out-of-pocket? Would my insurance (medicare) likely reimburse? I would need to go through doctor presumably like in the US? This would be a challenging as I'm not fluent in Spanish.
Or should I interrupt my trip and fly back to the US for this? I need to decide now.

Here the situation : in my company, since beginning of march this year, we've seen more downloads from cdn.office.net .
We do not know what is creating thiese downloads, and It can be a few Mb like near a gigaB
All these downloads create over consumption and problems for all others users.
We manage office and windows updates with ConfigMgr, using distribution points and peerchache etc. If I look at reports about from where are downloaded updates sources, there is no pc using cloud. Our sccm config has been reviewed and it seems it is not the culprit.
Since the start of this year, ~2 to have been donwloaded from this domain (from subdomains of this cdn.office.net domain i think)
We have 400 workstations with office.
Now what I need is to find a computer downloading from this domain, then find the process which initiated the download, to understand what's happening...
Do you know what could be so much download from internet ? using this specific domain ?
A good way to audit what process initiates downloads from this domain ?

I’m a first time mom and this is all so new to me. Please don’t judge me too harshly, just looking for some support/ reassurance because I haven’t been able to tell anyone about this.
My baby boy was born 10 weeks ago, and while recovery was hard for me all around, at least my vagina healed pretty fast. No issues there. I had a first degree perineal tear that was treated with dissolvable stitches. At 6 weeks I felt comfortable enough to have sex.
Well even though I asked my husband to go slow, he didn’t… He knew how careful I wanted to be and despite this, he went at the pace HE wanted to go at. In less than a minute, he managed to tear me right back open.
Obviously I was very upset by this, physically and emotionally. It’s created problems in our marriage ever since. He was not sensitive enough and ended up making an already sensitive area much, much worse. I no longer trust him with my body, and tbh it’s made me even consider divorce. He hasn’t shown any empathy or remorse and has stated that I’m being “dramatic” even though it hurt and he made me bleed…
I went to the drs office the day after, and they did confirm a tear but refused to do any stitching as they didn’t view it as necessary for a “first degree” tear. Fast forward a couple weeks later and my vagina still doesn’t feel the same. I looked down and it definitely looks like the skin never fused back together. I regret doing anything sexual with my husband because my postpartum vagina had no issues prior to sex. I’m so self conscious, so angry at my husband, and overall very depressed by this… it feels like my vagina is a gaping open hole and my vagina crack is basically down to my anus. I want to have it repaired so badly but I don’t even know where to begin. I’m having another dr look at it soon but I can’t stop crying over this. Any advice?

Hello everyone,
I am having a question regarding mapbox integration into web app.
For the past few months we've been developing a security management application where admin of the app can track real time event and triage with specific features in the map. The main core function in the app is map itself, where we have tons of different data to track, specific user types, specific vehicles, specific organisations ( schools, businesses, malls, outside events etc).
Or primary goal was to add all of our data into mapbox and to style all of that data ( specific icons, specific typo etc) it's important that elements stand out in the map and that we can have everything styled and stored in mapbox.
My question is: Does anyone know, how we can import our geojson into mapbox, so when we pull API from it, it will reflect into our app? Is it possible to import all data into mapbox and to still be able to use it within the app? We tried to do all separate data and add it to the mapbox it didn't work, we tried to create manual points and add them they didn't work. Map itself worked, but all data that should be within the mapbox didn't show in the app.
I hope that it made sense and i hope someone with experience would give us a guide to how to solve this problem. Because of the NDA i can't share any specific detail ( code snippet, function specifics).

Based in England.
So we took over a commercial office unit tenancy back in October 2023 valid until October 2024. At the time we envisaged that the office will be used to WFH for 2-3days a week. The Landlord charges us £490 every month Inc Energy and Water charges charged saperately (£170).
Now due to some changes in company we no longer require the office but since we are in contract I am honouring my word and paying rent every month for an empty unit.
I spoke with management about water and energy charges and that it seems highly unfair that we've not used the office even a day and we're having to pay gas, electricity and water charges every month. She said you agreed to pay this nothing can be done we cannot waive this charge it is up to you to use it or not.
I probably already know the answer but is there anyway legally we can recover this or stop paying this charge?. We don't mind paying the rent since our name is on the door n not vacant but it just seems like Landlord is being unfair in this situation.

I need some help!
I’m 3 years into a postdoc and, despite a concrete opportunity of becoming a PI in a couple of years max, I would like to transition to the pharma industry. I am sick and tired of the perverse incentives that control academic life, and I want to do something that gives me the impression of having a real-world impact.
I am however a bit lost when it comes to understanding what suits best my heterodox profile. I’d love if you could help me out in understanding which positions would give me the best chance at landing a job and actually enjoying it.
This is my profile:
- I am an M.D., but after graduating I have only ever done basic research.
- My broad area of research/expertise is neuroscience. To be more specific I am an in vivo electrophysiologist.
- Despite my background, what I am best at (and what I enjoy the most in my current job) is not doing experiment but data analysis and theoretical/computational work. I’m in between experimental and computational neuroscience. I am advanced in signal processing, statistics, ML and proficient in several programming languages.
- I have team management experience: I supervise 3 x PhD and 2 x master students. I am the senior author on one published paper and two more that will be submitted within the year.
Charactepersonal preferences:
- I’m an extrovert and a very communicative person. I'm independent and low maintenance.
- I like to manage a team. I understand that I probably won't have the chance to start out in such a position, but eventually I want to get there
- For family reasons (2x kids and a wife with a demanding job), I don’t want to travel too much and I don’t want to have crazy working hours

Here come the doubts.
My first instinct was to search for a senior R&D scientist position, but my skills seem to be too niche for that to be a realistic option. Am I missing something?
I have thought of something purely data-related, but I think that my resume is (on paper) too weak to compute with people with a CS/Math/Stats background. I also definitely want to remain close to my area of expertise (pharma, biotech, medtech) and not get a generic data science job.
I thought of CRA or MSL, but I struggle to understand if my profile is a fit for those positions or not. Do I need to get some clinical research experience first?

Wild for the first time ever I got a response back from big tech company and the non tech recruiter asked basic questions on email like are you allowed to work in Us etc. really got my hopes up. Then ghosted me and got rejection weeks later…
Then I got another interview. Passed non tech, moved to hiring manager semi technical. Guy loved me…and now both the recruiter and hiring manager ghosted me…
I have 2 YOE in IT and 3 YOE in FE mostly.
Resume has been optimized by career coach. Hiring manager even said he really likes me resume. Then ghosts like wtf….
It sucks cause my life is at a standstill until l I can get a job, so frustrating. I am currently employed, but doing contractor work so it’s meh.

I work for a very small niche skilled trade business as a project manager. The administration staff consists of the owner, myself, and the owner’s brother in law whose title is office manager. He manages incoming project requests,the finances, and customer care, and it’s actually quite a lot of work.
Lately he has been slowly doing less and less of his duties, even deciding that he no longer work Fridays, and it’s starting to cause disruptions to our workflow. The owner is finally realizing that brother in law may be taking advantage of the situation and reached out to a potential new hire to replace him.
The applicant hasn’t taken the job offer, so the owner (who is highly ADHD and all over the place, aka not always reliable about following through or working in an organized way) told me that the two of us would take on brother in law’s responsibilities and how great it will be because he’ll be saving money on that salary.
No mention of compensation for me taking on additional responsibilities on top of my already overloaded plate. It would be a lot of extra work, and a job I’m not interested in as I like my role and am already struggling to manage my own responsibilities. And I know the owner tends to get easily distracted and always has a million things to go, so I know the bulk of this work will fall on me.
But I’m struggling with leaving because then the owner (who really is a good person who I respect) will be screwed and on their own, plus I feel terrified to quit and lose my salary. I like a lot of things about this job including the work we do, but I never signed up to do the job of 2 people.
I’m sure reading this it seems obvious that I need to find another job, but I really struggle with knowing when I just need to adjust my expectations, be a team player, and adjust my thinking so I’m not miserable at work, and when external factors are really the issue.
I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to leave, probably because I can’t see an alternative situation. I’m in my 40s and starting all over at a new job seems like hell, so I feel sort of stuck here.
Anyway, if anyone else has insight I’d really appreciate it. Thanks. God even typing this out it’s so obvious I need to leave but psychologically I feel like I can’t. Wtf.

I work for an agricultural company at their corporate office. I work in their HR dept, as a lowest level employee, in an hourly role. I have no auhtority or decision making power, nor do I have direct reports, etc. etc.
I'm told we don't get paid OT because we're an agricultural company. I don't think that's right. And according to these explanatory documents from the DOL, it isn't :

So I have shared these documents and excerpts, specifically, with management. We were rold again that the lawyers have looked into this again and basically we aren't owed overtime was their conclusion.
Before I take this any further (and I haven't decided what to do yet) I wanted to be super super sure that I am interpreting this correctly and that I am owed overtime.
I'm not salary, I'm hourly. I don't have authority or decision making power (in fact my enforcement of rules has been overridden just last week). I make >$600/week. I basically have a clerical role. In fact, "Clerk" is in my title.
The other thing I want to ask is this: there is a written policy regarding working "overtime" or hours >40. The written policy is that you must receive written permission from your manager in advance to do so. The de facto policy, and what we were rold, verbally, when we were hired was "you can work as much as you want, it doesn't matter, we just don't pay time and a half for overtime." If I make a complaint and all of a sudden they start enforcing the written policy instead of the de facto rule, could that be construed as retalliation for making a good faith complaint? Essentially they would be taking it away.
Like I said, I'm not sure what I will choose to do going forward. I'm only owed like $600 this year. It's not about that for me though, it's about what's right. I just don't know what it's worth to me, yet.
Edit: oh and here's another S780.105(D) "Employment not within the scope of either the primary or the secondary meaning of “agriculture” as defined in section 3(f) is not employment in agriculture. In other words, employees not employed in farming or by a farmer or on a farm are not employed in agriculture."

4 years ago I found a partial human maxillary (upper jaw) belonging to a 5-11 year old child and the sole of a kid’s shoe in a size that would fit a 6-8 year old on the grounds of an abandoned school in Germany. Both items were sticking out of the ground at the side of an overgrown embankment, though it’s likely they were completely buried at some point and only exposed fairly recently due to wind and rain slowly washing the earth away.
The local police was informed and two very unmotivated patrol officers showed up the next day and took my findings with them, but to this day the property hasn’t been searched for more bones. The police also never released any sort of press statement regarding the matter (wich is pretty much standard practice in Germany in cases like this), and both the local department as well as the LKA (state police) refuse to give out information.
A few weeks later I found a rib, a vertebrae, some leather straps and little metal clasp in the same area. I brought that stuff to the station, but again nothing happened.
I did some research and found out that the shoe was a type of cheap sneaker for indoor sports education sold in the GDDDR from the 1960s to the late 1980s; I even found the factory where this specific pair was manufactured, but unfortunately I couldn’t find a more detailed production date. The metal clasp and leather straps likely belonged to a bag used by GDR school children to carry their lunch.
Of course it’s not impossible that none of these items have anything to do with the bones, that they’re actually ancient and that there was no need for an investigation, but then it makes no sense why they wouldn’t just tell me that. I also did extensive research on the history of that place, and there’s not really a plausible explanation how these bones ended up there unless someone dumped a body after the school was abandoned.
I’ve since moved away from the town where it happened, but I can’t get it out of my head. I can’t just accept that maybe someone murdered a kid and got away with it, that there’s a family who will never get closure, and that it will stay that way because some lazy cops didn’t do their job. So, what can I do to get someone to investigate this?

Trying to keep this vague because I have reason to believe at least one parent lurks.
I took college as an opportunity to move out of state over a decade ago. It was a sneaky way for me to create space with my parents before even realizing their behavior reached narcissistic levels-my house was riddled with several forms of domestic violence growing up and that was my inspiration to leave. I have lived about halfway across the country from them ever since —through graduate school, the start of my career, etc etc.
Five years ago I really started in on my therapy and have been relatively low contact with them ever since which I feel in part has worked because of the physical distance between us.
Now, they want to retire near where I currently live which honestly terrifies me. First, I genuinely do not think they can afford to retire at all — we come from poverty and they have worked very hard to overcome it, but financially, it does not add up. They are not at traditional retirement age, just “tired of working.” I am in a high-paying career field and although they aren’t aware of my earnings, they can get ideas based on where I live. It feels like a set up to prey on my empathy (I’m the scapegoat child) when the time comes. Especially since they are not new to financial abuse.
I also think this is their response to the low contact. I think this is their way of stepping on that boundary in a covert way that ultimately makes sticking to the boundary more emotional and difficult. It is not unlike my father to look into this sort of thing on his own time, it makes them strong manipulators. They actually both have a grasp on narcissistic abuse because this is a family affair on n father’s side and he has created distance from his own family over such abuse.
For financial abuse reasons, I am still tied to them making going no contact impractical and potentially impossible. For any of you out there who managed to get away and start to heal, were you followed and how did you handle it? I’m afraid their move will undo so much work I’ve put in. I also have not had to stand my ground on boundaries to their faces and they both have histories of being physically violent so that rocks me a bit.
